- 2:28Speaker 2: My name is Brad Flutter. I work on the operations
- 2:30Speaker 2: team here at First Light, just helping them, working with
- 2:34Speaker 2: our factories and warehouses, making sure that customers get their
- 2:38Speaker 2: orders and stuff gets where it needs to go.
- 2:39Speaker 1: Can I tell you a secret, Bread, I've never heard
- 2:42Speaker 1: anybody in the history of the company pronounce your last
- 2:45Speaker 1: name Flutter.
- 2:46Speaker 3: Yeah, it's always Floater. He said it wrong.
- 2:50Speaker 1: So are you wrong or is everyone else wrong?
- 2:52Speaker 2: I like to think I'm right, or at least my
- 2:54Speaker 2: parents are engaged in a twenty nine year old Why.
- 2:57Speaker 1: It's now on the record it is Flutter, not Floater.
- 3:00Speaker 1: I'm stunned.
- 3:02Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean it took Chase like a year and
- 3:04Speaker 2: a half before he realized. I thought he was just
- 3:06Speaker 2: running like a bit.
- 3:11Speaker 4: Okay. I'm Claire over I'm the e commerce experience and
- 3:14Speaker 4: systems manager. I designed pages on our commerce sites and
- 3:19Speaker 4: make sure it all runs well.
- 3:21Speaker 1: Claire, I hear everybody get your last name right a way.
- 3:25Speaker 4: She has a lot of people say over bye, actually,
- 3:28Speaker 4: so I think.
- 3:29Speaker 5: That one.
- 3:32Speaker 3: Over by over By Haley Hi, I'm Mary Gibson.
- 3:36Speaker 6: I'm the assistant manager here at the First Light flagship
- 3:39Speaker 6: store in Haley.
- 3:41Speaker 1: Well, it's a beautiful store. Thank you fun being here, Keith.
- 3:46Speaker 1: Would she like to work with give us the insight?
- 3:48Speaker 7: Oh, Mary's great. She's just an all star. She's always
- 3:51Speaker 7: up to do whatever is Needa done in the store
- 3:54Speaker 7: with a big smile. Lover to death.
- 3:56Speaker 3: That seemed pretty genuine because it was really awkward. Awkward
- 4:00Speaker 3: for him there, that's.
- 4:02Speaker 1: An easy He's the answer for me, the rock star
- 4:05Speaker 1: fast right back at you.
- 4:08Speaker 6: I'm Cody Dinsmore. I'm the marketing coordinator for first Light.
- 4:11Speaker 6: Handle the social media.
- 4:14Speaker 1: So when you had your phone out all morning, you
- 4:16Speaker 1: weren't you weren't.
- 4:16Speaker 6: Being rude, You're now I was making content. Yeah, welcome, Keldy.
- 4:23Speaker 8: I'm Michael Reidfeld Guys and Outfitters program manager for first Light. YEP,
- 4:29Speaker 8: so handle all the guys and outfitters, bring them, you know,
- 4:33Speaker 8: important industry professionals into the fold, getting in our gear
- 4:37Speaker 8: and helping them out.
- 4:38Speaker 1: Michael, I've been told from the beginning, Uh maybe not
- 4:41Speaker 1: to your knowledge, that you're a contender today. O. Folks
- 4:44Speaker 1: think you have a chance how old are you?
- 4:47Speaker 5: Thirty seven?
- 4:49Speaker 8: Age matters, man, I know, kind of one of the
- 4:51Speaker 8: oldies in the office.
- 4:52Speaker 3: You're up in the you're getting into the winning years. Yeah.
- 4:56Speaker 5: Yeah, experience matters, right.
- 4:58Speaker 3: Because you'd be like, man, I kind of remember that move. Yeah,
- 5:01Speaker 3: that's that's that's helpful.
- 5:02Speaker 8: Yeah, it's a lot of the ninety stuff, you know,
- 5:04Speaker 8: I was hoping for less Taylor Swift questions and Travis Kelsey,
- 5:08Speaker 8: none of those today.
- 5:11Speaker 5: That's my.
- 5:15Speaker 9: Name is Kyle O'Connell. I'm a customer support and gear specialist.
- 5:18Speaker 9: So anytime a customer calls in with an email, a
- 5:20Speaker 9: chat or a phone call, we're the ones you answer it.
- 5:23Speaker 9: So we answer like all the simple stuff like where's
- 5:25Speaker 9: my return? Like how do we do an exchange? But
- 5:27Speaker 9: also some of the gear questions. So anytime you have
- 5:30Speaker 9: a question about FHF First Sight gear, I'll be the
- 5:32Speaker 9: one on the phone talking to you.
- 5:33Speaker 3: Kyle.
- 5:33Speaker 1: I feel like I heard you earlier, declared the new guy.
- 5:36Speaker 9: Yeah, I am the newest person at the company right now.
- 5:39Speaker 9: How new since October? Not the newest, but as far
- 5:42Speaker 9: as first Light in players.
- 5:43Speaker 1: Yeah, all right, Well we'll see how that helps you
- 5:46Speaker 1: with meat Eater Trivia. Now we're over to Logan. Logan
- 5:48Speaker 1: is the only one besides Steve here who has played
- 5:51Speaker 1: meat eater trivia before. That is true.
- 5:54Speaker 3: Yeah, when did you no? No, no, no, In fact,
- 5:56Speaker 3: I did well blow or above part? Did you get
- 5:59Speaker 3: kicked out like toward the end?
- 6:02Speaker 1: Oh yeah, well actually no, it was actually no. One
- 6:05Speaker 1: did really well.
- 6:05Speaker 3: I think six took it and I four.
- 6:08Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, Logan, what do you do here? First light,
- 6:11Speaker 1: I work on our product.
- 6:12Speaker 10: Team, specifically on a lot of our waterfowl and white
- 6:15Speaker 10: tail product.
- 6:18Speaker 7: Keith antspa manager at the store here in Haley, Idaho.
- 6:21Speaker 7: Super lucky to spend my time in here. Gonna be
- 6:24Speaker 7: a hunting bartender to all the folks coming in and
- 6:26Speaker 7: out of the store.
- 6:27Speaker 5: It's a it's a good gig.
- 6:29Speaker 1: Keith is a fellow rock hound. If I was cheering
- 6:32Speaker 1: for somebody today, I don't cheer for people as a host,
- 6:35Speaker 1: but maybe cheer for Keith. Keith has been setting me
- 6:38Speaker 1: all sorts of pins to go rock hounding in Idaho.
- 6:41Speaker 1: It's the start of a blossoming relationship between Keith and I.
- 6:45Speaker 7: We're gonna have fun, man.
- 6:46Speaker 1: Yeah, Steve, what's your early read on your competitors today.
- 6:51Speaker 3: I'm only going by age.
- 6:52Speaker 11: Whoever's oldest, Okay, I guess, Mary and I.
- 6:58Speaker 1: Now today's show is unique because we're recording from the
- 7:01Speaker 1: First Light Store and have a live audience. They are
- 7:04Speaker 1: about a dozen First Light employees gathered around watching, so
- 7:07Speaker 1: we're going to put them to use. Now, if you're
- 7:09Speaker 1: familiar with the board game, you'll know that we have
- 7:11Speaker 1: rules for eight game variations you can play. One of
- 7:15Speaker 1: them is called Phone a Friend, where each player gets
- 7:18Speaker 1: one opportunity per game to call someone for their input
- 7:22Speaker 1: on a question. We're gonna do that today, but instead
- 7:25Speaker 1: of whipping out your phones, you'll call on one of
- 7:27Speaker 1: our audience members in the First Light Store. So if
- 7:30Speaker 1: you're stumped on a question but think one of your
- 7:32Speaker 1: First Light colleagues would know the answer, then you can
- 7:35Speaker 1: bring them to the mic for their help. And if
- 7:38Speaker 1: multiple of you use Phone a Friend on the same question,
- 7:40Speaker 1: then you'll all need to agree on who that friend is.
- 7:43Speaker 1: So audience be paying attention. You're gonna have a chance
- 7:47Speaker 1: to help out your colleagues here. If you like them,
- 7:49Speaker 1: I guess. If you don't like them, you could just
- 7:51Speaker 1: you know, give them the wrong answer or something.
- 7:53Speaker 3: Now, how are you doing like the old throwing a
- 7:56Speaker 3: bone situation? Right now? You're not able to do that.
- 7:59Speaker 1: I think you'll know when we when we get to
- 8:01Speaker 1: the bone. Uh for the first light, That was the
- 8:03Speaker 1: first thing I Askedpencer this morning. He did Logan asked
- 8:06Speaker 1: me before I even said Hi, I say, hey, do
- 8:08Speaker 1: we have a bone today? Or what's the situation?
- 8:11Speaker 4: Now?
- 8:11Speaker 1: Are we gonna give Steve the phone a friend as well?
- 8:14Speaker 1: What do you guys think should Steve okay shaking their head, no, audience,
- 8:17Speaker 1: should he get your help as well?
- 8:19Speaker 5: Or not?
- 8:21Speaker 3: No?
- 8:21Speaker 1: Okay, Steve does not get to use phone a frame.
- 8:26Speaker 1: Our other our other eight players do. Now this is
- 8:30Speaker 1: use it or lose it. So don't be like, uh,
- 8:32Speaker 1: saving this for the perfect question, because it may never come.
- 8:35Speaker 1: So if you're stumped on one you think someone sitting
- 8:38Speaker 1: behind us will know the answer, go ahead and bring
- 8:40Speaker 1: them onto the show. Now there's no stat I F
- 8:43Speaker 1: a Q or housekeeping this week. The Shelby Index for
- 8:46Speaker 1: this episode is a three, so our winner should get
- 8:49Speaker 1: six correct answers, and with that we're onto the game
- 8:52Speaker 1: of trivia. Play the drop, Phil, Look, I need to
- 8:57Speaker 1: know what I stay under win everything?
- 9:01Speaker 3: How's that just tend to win everything?
- 9:10Speaker 7: Damon suckers.
- 9:13Speaker 1: Question one the topic is public lands. This first great
- 9:17Speaker 1: question comes to us via Brian Fitzgerald, and as always,
- 9:20Speaker 1: it will be multiple choice. America's three tallest waterfalls are
- 9:25Speaker 1: all located on public land in this state? Is it Hawaii, Idaho, Alaska,
- 9:33Speaker 1: or Tennessee. America's three tallest waterfalls are all located on
- 9:40Speaker 1: public land in this state? Is it Hawaii, Idaho, Alaska,
- 9:46Speaker 1: or Tennessee. This will be the only multiple choice question
- 9:50Speaker 1: out of the ten that you get today. Nobody looks confident.
- 9:54Speaker 1: Everyone has been slow to come up with an answer.
- 9:56Speaker 1: Three tallest waterfalls located in this state Hawaii, Idaho, Alaska, Tennessee.
- 10:03Speaker 1: Does anybody feel confident?
- 10:05Speaker 3: No?
- 10:08Speaker 1: Starting off strong, The room looks stumped. Is everybody ready?
- 10:15Speaker 1: No one's using their phone a friend on this one.
- 10:17Speaker 1: I think that's wise. If you guys are stumped.
- 10:19Speaker 3: Because none of your buddies are gonna know this, the.
- 10:21Speaker 1: Audience must be stumped as well. Go ahead and reveal
- 10:24Speaker 1: your answers. We have Brad saying Alaska, Claire saying Alaska.
- 10:29Speaker 1: We have Mary saying Hawaii, Cody saying Alaska, Michael saying California,
- 10:34Speaker 1: Kyle sang Alaska, Logan saying Hawaii, Keith saying Hawaii, Steve
- 10:39Speaker 1: saying Hawaii. The correct answer is Hawaii. About half of
- 10:45Speaker 1: you got that one right. Olaupena Falls is the tallest
- 10:50Speaker 1: waterfall in America and the fourth tallest waterfall in the world.
- 10:54Speaker 1: It is twenty nine hundred and fifty three feet tall,
- 10:57Speaker 1: which makes it twice as tall as Chicago Sea Tower.
- 11:00Speaker 1: Of the top ten waterfalls in America, four are in Hawaii,
- 11:04Speaker 1: four are in Washington, one is in California, and one
- 11:08Speaker 1: is in Montana.
- 11:09Speaker 3: We made that tricky. Is the public land situation? Hawaii
- 11:12Speaker 3: is the weirds. It's not like national forests and stuff.
- 11:15Speaker 3: You know what is it? I don't know. It's I
- 11:18Speaker 3: don't even know.
- 11:19Speaker 1: When you look on on X, it's like a lot
- 11:20Speaker 1: of shades of colors that you don't see.
- 11:22Speaker 3: Law. Yeah, it's not like a BLM national forest. Yeah.
- 11:27Speaker 1: Question two the topic is cooking. This next great question
- 11:30Speaker 1: is via Ali Lopez. Au translates to with blank in French.
- 11:39Speaker 1: Aju that's au space Jus translates to with blank in French.
- 11:48Speaker 1: His question to Steve, do you know this one. You
- 11:51Speaker 1: were the quickest to come up with a names. Kind
- 11:53Speaker 1: of okay, kind of ou translates to with blank in French.
- 11:59Speaker 5: Can use a phone friend at this time?
- 12:01Speaker 3: You can?
- 12:01Speaker 1: You can, absolutely. We'll hold it to the end, so
- 12:04Speaker 1: we'll wait until everyone else has settled on their answer.
- 12:07Speaker 1: And if you're going to use phone a friend, do
- 12:09Speaker 1: you know who you're gonna call on?
- 12:10Speaker 3: Keith? Okay French, Yeah, she speaks French.
- 12:14Speaker 1: Okay, you're gonna have about seven other people use phone
- 12:19Speaker 1: a friend as well.
- 12:21Speaker 3: Here's the deal. When they phone a friend, how do
- 12:22Speaker 3: you prevent me from just overhearing what they said?
- 12:24Speaker 1: Well, no that you'll hear what they said, but you
- 12:26Speaker 1: just can't change your answer. At that point you will
- 12:28Speaker 1: leave your board down. So when we're ready to do
- 12:30Speaker 1: phone a Friend, everyone's answers are locked in.
- 12:33Speaker 3: So then everybody here can listen, but I don't.
- 12:35Speaker 1: They can. No, you can listen as well. No your answering,
- 12:37Speaker 1: you're not going to change your board. That's what's gonna happen.
- 12:40Speaker 1: You're not going to change your board. Is everybody who's
- 12:43Speaker 1: not using phone a Friend have an answer.
- 12:46Speaker 4: I think I'm also going to use phone a friend.
- 12:47Speaker 4: But my dad is going to be pissed about it. Okay, No,
- 12:51Speaker 4: but it's like he puts O with every sandwich. There's
- 12:55Speaker 4: not a sandwich that can't have OU with.
- 12:57Speaker 1: It translates to with blame.
- 13:00Speaker 3: She's doing that kind of Oh okay, but that it's
- 13:03Speaker 3: all gonna go out the window one day. Okay.
- 13:07Speaker 1: So we have Keith and Claire using phone a friend,
- 13:08Speaker 1: no one else. Okay, about half of our players are
- 13:12Speaker 1: using everyone else your answers, Your answers are locked in.
- 13:18Speaker 1: You're not going to change him. Do you guys agree
- 13:20Speaker 1: on who's gonna come up and help you out? Who
- 13:22Speaker 1: are you thinking of?
- 13:23Speaker 5: Renee speaks French.
- 13:25Speaker 1: Everyone everyone agrees, Renee, that's who you want to come up? Renee,
- 13:27Speaker 1: come up and help out our players? Uh Ozu translates
- 13:31Speaker 1: to with what yeah, what do you got? She says juice?
- 13:37Speaker 1: Uh We have a few fist pumps from the folks
- 13:40Speaker 1: who didn't use phone of frame on that one is everybody?
- 13:43Speaker 1: Are you guys going with what Renee says? You trust her? Okay,
- 13:48Speaker 1: go ahead and reveal your answers. We have Brad saying juice,
- 13:51Speaker 1: Claire saying juice, Mary saying juice Cody saying juice, Michael
- 13:55Speaker 1: saying juice. Everybody said juice. Everybody got it right. The
- 13:58Speaker 1: correct answer is juice. What were you guys going to
- 14:02Speaker 1: go with if you didn't get the help from renee soup.
- 14:10Speaker 3: Renee?
- 14:10Speaker 1: What would that translate to if it was with soup instead? Okay,
- 14:16Speaker 1: that's not it, though. Culinarian language snobs get picky about
- 14:23Speaker 1: the use of the phrase and will point out that
- 14:25Speaker 1: it's redundant to say something comes with ajo. That would
- 14:29Speaker 1: be like saying a steak is served with with juice.
- 14:32Speaker 1: For an azuu recipe that has a perfect five star rating,
- 14:35Speaker 1: check out Danielle Pruitt's post on the medieater dot com
- 14:38Speaker 1: called Sue V. Venison roast recipe.
- 14:40Speaker 3: When ic work for my buddy Ronnie Bain, you got
- 14:43Speaker 3: a there was per diem when you traveled? Huh and
- 14:47Speaker 3: the concept uh is that Latin? Whatever it was? All
- 14:55Speaker 3: the guys would say, you get twenty dollars per diem
- 15:00Speaker 3: per day, and I gave up trying to point out.
- 15:06Speaker 1: So it wasn't ironic that they were doing. Question three,
- 15:11Speaker 1: the topic is gear tell you ride. Colorado is located
- 15:15Speaker 1: inside this National Forest, which also happens to be the
- 15:19Speaker 1: name of the starlight jacket. Tell you ride Colorado is
- 15:24Speaker 1: located inside this national forest, which also happens to be
- 15:29Speaker 1: the name of a first light jacket. This is the
- 15:32Speaker 1: bone I am throwing to our players. We have Logan
- 15:35Speaker 1: who is looking around the room trying to see what
- 15:38Speaker 1: he can find on the shelves, anything will help him out. Oh,
- 15:44Speaker 1: I hear someone behind us knows this. Which of our
- 15:47Speaker 1: players are feeling confident? Anybody? Okay, Steve, do you have
- 15:53Speaker 1: any idea? Okay, tell you ride Colorado is located inside
- 15:57Speaker 1: this national forest, which also happen depends to be the
- 16:00Speaker 1: name of a first light jacket.
- 16:02Speaker 3: I think you're throwing some real softballs this morning, man.
- 16:05Speaker 3: But it's like it's a little bit insulting to the.
- 16:08Speaker 1: It's his only question three.
- 16:12Speaker 3: It's insulting to the audience. Dude. He's like, Oh, these
- 16:14Speaker 3: people aren't smart down in Idaho.
- 16:17Speaker 1: Is everybody ready? Steve said that?
- 16:20Speaker 4: Not me?
- 16:21Speaker 1: Go ahead and reveal your answers. We have everybody saying
- 16:25Speaker 1: uncompahgre and they got it right. The correct answer is unco.
- 16:29Speaker 3: So that's as far as Shelby made it right there.
- 16:32Speaker 1: Well, she only got three rights. Yeah. The National Force
- 16:35Speaker 1: is named after the Uncompahgre tribe who used to call
- 16:39Speaker 1: the region home. In the Ute language, the word means
- 16:42Speaker 1: rocks that make water red. The National Forest is famous
- 16:46Speaker 1: for its million dollar Highway, which supposedly got that name
- 16:50Speaker 1: for its million dollar views. What are some creative ways
- 16:53Speaker 1: you guys have heard that jacket pronounced?
- 16:55Speaker 8: I was gonna say, we have some bonus trevia what
- 16:56Speaker 8: our customers call it?
- 16:58Speaker 1: Give us some examples?
- 16:59Speaker 5: Two of them? Can I? But I guess what the
- 17:00Speaker 5: two are.
- 17:01Speaker 7: Uncle Padre, I get I get them called the unk
- 17:07Speaker 7: poo pooh from time to time.
- 17:09Speaker 8: We haven't had that one nicknamed it.
- 17:13Speaker 4: The unpronounced.
- 17:16Speaker 3: That good.
- 17:17Speaker 1: But yeah, you keep naming things after it. It's getting uh,
- 17:20Speaker 1: the lord is getting deeper and deeper. Question for the
- 17:25Speaker 1: topic is fishing. This fish has been referred to as
- 17:29Speaker 1: the vampire fish by Business Insider, CNN and Fox News.
- 17:37Speaker 1: This is question four the vampire It's well, uh, you
- 17:43Speaker 1: to figure out the one that was referred to as
- 17:45Speaker 1: the vampire fish by Business Insider, CNN and Fox News.
- 17:51Speaker 1: What it's a nickname? Quote the vampire fish. Steve just
- 17:57Speaker 1: declared the game is too easy. Well, then got dumb,
- 18:01Speaker 1: non ground.
- 18:03Speaker 3: And then dum, I'm just looking for good. This is
- 18:09Speaker 3: a good one because there's a vampire fish.
- 18:11Speaker 1: Dude, what what would uh you know? Business Insider CNN
- 18:17Speaker 1: and Fox News be writing about that, they would call
- 18:19Speaker 1: this fish the vampire fish. This fish has been referred
- 18:23Speaker 1: to as the vampire fish business Insider, CNN and Fox News.
- 18:28Speaker 1: Do you think Business Insider has ever written about the
- 18:31Speaker 1: actual vampire fish that hails from what like Central Africa,
- 18:36Speaker 1: South America? Okay, probably not. Does anybody in our audience
- 18:42Speaker 1: know in case someone wants to use a phone a
- 18:44Speaker 1: friend here? No, they're also stumped. We may have a
- 18:48Speaker 1: zero percenter here followed by a one hundred percent referred
- 18:54Speaker 1: to as the vampire fish.
- 18:57Speaker 3: Mm hmm.
- 19:00Speaker 1: Okay, So when behind us declared they think they might
- 19:02Speaker 1: have a guess, I'm gonna bring in I feel like
- 19:05Speaker 1: a strong you.
- 19:07Speaker 3: Might have a guess as you like you almost can't
- 19:10Speaker 3: guess six?
- 19:15Speaker 1: You're gonna go with that, Brad, You're gonna I think.
- 19:18Speaker 3: I'm gonna save those odds for later. I think I
- 19:20Speaker 3: think Chase has got one later.
- 19:23Speaker 1: Question four, does everybody have an answer?
- 19:26Speaker 3: Almost can't guess?
- 19:28Speaker 1: Go ahead and reveal your answers. We have Brad saying
- 19:31Speaker 1: agent Karp Clay without an answer, Mary saying piranha. We
- 19:36Speaker 1: have Cody without an answer, Michael saying lamprey, Kyle saying snaggeltooth, shark,
- 19:41Speaker 1: Logan saying lamprey, Keith saying snakehead. Steve saying snakehead. We
- 19:45Speaker 1: have a correct answer in the room. It's lamprey. Two
- 19:49Speaker 1: of you. Let's got that right, Man and Logan because
- 19:54Speaker 1: it can't be because it sucks blood. M hm.
- 19:57Speaker 3: But I thought this because they're like pretty durable be killed.
- 20:00Speaker 1: Well that's not whats Insiders CNN and Fox News refer
- 20:06Speaker 1: to it as you should have gone with the train
- 20:08Speaker 1: of thinking of it sucks blood suckers. In folklore, the
- 20:12Speaker 1: fish are also referred to as the nine eyed eel.
- 20:16Speaker 1: This name goes back to Roman times when Vidus Polio
- 20:19Speaker 1: kept a pool of lamprey on his property. He threatened
- 20:23Speaker 1: to feed his slaves to the lamprey if they misbehaved. Maybe,
- 20:27Speaker 1: first light, should I get a little lamprey pool around here.
- 20:30Speaker 5: You guys can name a jacket after it.
- 20:33Speaker 3: Oh, there we go. You don't know the reason why
- 20:36Speaker 3: it wouldn't have been snakehead. Is If your name's already
- 20:38Speaker 3: as cool as snakehead, you don't need like it, you know,
- 20:40Speaker 3: I mean, you don't need a nickname because you already
- 20:42Speaker 3: got a badass name like a lamprey. That doesn't tell
- 20:45Speaker 3: you anything.
- 20:45Speaker 1: Mm hmm. We're on to question five. The topic is hunting.
- 20:50Speaker 1: This is an audio question. Phil is going to play
- 20:52Speaker 1: you forty five seconds of a song about a hunting dog.
- 20:55Speaker 1: You need to tell me who the artist is. Take
- 20:58Speaker 1: it away, Phil.
- 21:02Speaker 12: He was around on a little about a plenty mean,
- 21:05Speaker 12: put Simon's in and he never let up, spends on
- 21:08Speaker 12: a boat and on a bear bone. Now he's underground
- 21:10Speaker 12: and I'm all alone. Well, a good dog on the
- 21:15Speaker 12: grounds worth three in the saddle where you're from.
- 21:19Speaker 1: Folks behind us are singing it. I think they might
- 21:22Speaker 1: know it.
- 21:23Speaker 12: The greatest one.
- 21:24Speaker 3: He was a hound of hounds. He was wonder of
- 21:28Speaker 3: all walkers.
- 21:29Speaker 4: He loved.
- 21:31Speaker 12: He loved treating that racoon. Most of all, he was
- 21:35Speaker 12: my best friend.
- 21:36Speaker 3: And he's gone to again.
- 21:40Speaker 1: To get this right, you need to tell me who
- 21:42Speaker 1: the artist is that sang that song about Sam the
- 21:46Speaker 1: haunting dog.
- 21:48Speaker 3: I would like to phone my friend, Nate.
- 21:50Speaker 1: Lekowski, okay, Brad it okay, we have a couple phone
- 21:53Speaker 1: of friends. You guys will hold your answers until everyone
- 21:56Speaker 1: else has locked in their answers. Steve, if you ever
- 21:59Speaker 1: heard that song with.
- 21:59Speaker 3: It somehow seems like a song I would have heard
- 22:02Speaker 3: a bunch.
- 22:06Speaker 1: So we have two players who seem like they'll get
- 22:08Speaker 1: it right because they're gonna use their Phone a Friend.
- 22:10Speaker 1: Is anyone else confident? Logan coming up with an answer.
- 22:17Speaker 1: The rest of our players look stumped. About half of
- 22:19Speaker 1: them have cashed in their Phone a Friend by now, okay,
- 22:23Speaker 1: we also have Michael. He's going to use it. We're
- 22:27Speaker 1: gonna be down to Is it just Mary, You're gonna
- 22:29Speaker 1: be the only one who has to use Phone a Friend?
- 22:32Speaker 3: Oh?
- 22:32Speaker 1: Okay, So everyone's we're halfway through the game and everyone
- 22:35Speaker 1: has used Phone a Friend. This is like if you know,
- 22:38Speaker 1: you did a chore for the neighbor and they gave
- 22:39Speaker 1: you five dollars and they're like, you know, don't don't
- 22:41Speaker 1: spend it all at once. And here we are question five.
- 22:44Speaker 1: The phone of friends have all been used. Does everyone
- 22:47Speaker 1: else else have their answers locked in?
- 22:50Speaker 7: All?
- 22:50Speaker 3: Right? They have?
- 22:51Speaker 1: They're not going to change your answer. Who's gonna who's
- 22:53Speaker 1: gonna come up and help?
- 22:54Speaker 2: I'm gonna I'm gonna pick Nate and Potoski.
- 22:56Speaker 1: Everyone agree on that. You You're all good with Nate
- 22:58Speaker 1: being the phone of friend Nate. What's the answer, Simpson?
- 23:04Speaker 1: Our other players are groaning? Board or other players are groaning. Nate,
- 23:12Speaker 1: who is named after a great rock from Lake Superior
- 23:15Speaker 1: that I'm hoping to find this year, says that it
- 23:18Speaker 1: is Stergel Simpson, after me, Oh, there we go.
- 23:21Speaker 3: I like that part of the family. I haven't.
- 23:29Speaker 5: I think the rock. I think the rock is actually
- 23:31Speaker 5: named Nate as a is.
- 23:33Speaker 1: Everybody ready, go ahead and reveal your answers. We have
- 23:37Speaker 1: this whole side of the room saying Sirgil Simpson, except
- 23:40Speaker 1: for Claire saying what I say? This was wrong, Johnny Cash,
- 23:44Speaker 1: Kyle without an answer, Logan saying Waylon Jennings, Keith saying Whalen,
- 23:48Speaker 1: Steve saying Haggard. The correct answer is Stergel Simpson.
- 23:52Speaker 3: I'm mad because I think I have helps.
- 23:55Speaker 1: That song is from Stergil Simpson's twenty twenty one album
- 23:59Speaker 1: The Ballad of Dude and Juanita. The entire album is
- 24:02Speaker 1: set in Kentucky during the Civil War. It's about the
- 24:05Speaker 1: sharpshooting dude and his beloved juan Nita, who is kidnapped
- 24:08Speaker 1: by an outlaw. After the abduction, the dude sets off
- 24:11Speaker 1: to rescue Jannita with the help of his mule, Shamrock
- 24:15Speaker 1: and dog. Sam Simpson said he came up with the
- 24:18Speaker 1: story while driving home from filming Killers of the Flower Moon. Phil,
- 24:23Speaker 1: we're halfway through the game of trivia. Give us a
- 24:26Speaker 1: scoreboard update.
- 24:31Speaker 11: Okay, we've got Kyle and Claire with two points apiece.
- 24:36Speaker 11: Steve has three, so do Keith, Cody and Brad and
- 24:40Speaker 11: all tied up in first place are Logan, Mary and
- 24:42Speaker 11: Michael with four points.
- 24:44Speaker 1: I set it before the game. Well, I think Logan
- 24:47Speaker 1: did declare. Logan also declared that everyone else is kind
- 24:51Speaker 1: of playing for second place, thinking that Steve would walk
- 24:54Speaker 1: his way to an easy victory. But here we are
- 24:57Speaker 1: he's one point behind three other folks. Question six. The
- 25:10Speaker 1: topic is woodsmanship. This is our listener question of the Week,
- 25:13Speaker 1: which was won by Drew Sinko for sending this great question.
- 25:16Speaker 1: Drew is going to get a board game signed by
- 25:18Speaker 1: the crew if you want a chance to win the
- 25:19Speaker 1: listener question of the week, then send your question to
- 25:22Speaker 1: Trivia at the medeater dot com. Galch and gorge are
- 25:27Speaker 1: synonyms for this five letter word that's defined as quote
- 25:31Speaker 1: a ravine formed by the action of water. The topic
- 25:36Speaker 1: is woodsmanship. Galch and gorge are synonyms for this five
- 25:41Speaker 1: letter word that's defined as a ravine formed by the
- 25:46Speaker 1: action of water. No one has put marker to whiteboard
- 25:51Speaker 1: yet they're thinking very hard. Five letter word. Galch and
- 25:58Speaker 1: gorge are synonyms, and the definition is a ravine formed
- 26:02Speaker 1: by the action of water. Steve has declared before that
- 26:10Speaker 1: you'd learned a lot about a player by the orientation
- 26:12Speaker 1: of their whiteboard, and it seems as though this crew
- 26:16Speaker 1: is about half and half going vertical versus horizontal. Was
- 26:21Speaker 1: there any thought put into that or you guys just
- 26:22Speaker 1: like Steve, Oh okay, that's uh, you know it does.
- 26:30Speaker 1: That's a good strategy.
- 26:31Speaker 3: My boards, my board is so new, it's off gas
- 26:34Speaker 3: and it smells like new carpet.
- 26:39Speaker 1: These are new whiteboards. Our old whiteboards are entering the
- 26:44Speaker 1: Meat Eater auction House of Oodities, so you can get
- 26:46Speaker 1: the real whiteboards that we played with for three years
- 26:49Speaker 1: that are covered in graffiti by the crew. Some of
- 26:52Speaker 1: them are broken. Steve was asking if we're going to
- 26:54Speaker 1: sell them as is, because every now and then players
- 26:58Speaker 1: like Steve will get frustrated and hit them on the table.
- 27:01Speaker 1: And we have a lot of whiteboards that are all broken.
- 27:03Speaker 1: So you can go win those in the auction house. Yeah,
- 27:07Speaker 1: we'll include the parts you could. You could if you
- 27:09Speaker 1: want a duck table in a gloom do whatever. There
- 27:11Speaker 1: will also be a signed board game in that uh,
- 27:15Speaker 1: in that auction signed by Steve, myself, Cal and Yanni.
- 27:20Speaker 1: To check out the auction house coming out later this month.
- 27:23Speaker 3: Just a lot of good stuff.
- 27:25Speaker 1: Were on question six again. Topics woodsmanship, galch and gorge
- 27:28Speaker 1: are synonyms for this five letter word that's defined as
- 27:32Speaker 1: a ravine formed by the action of water.
- 27:34Speaker 3: Oh, we're putting one of the Clovis thrusting spears from
- 27:37Speaker 3: the k the Kent State Archaeology Organization in there. Very good.
- 27:42Speaker 1: Give us a few other examples. What else you know
- 27:44Speaker 1: is going in there?
- 27:45Speaker 3: Uh? Putting some uh, some furs out of my personal collection. Oh,
- 27:51Speaker 3: very nice. We have a fur fob vinyl harness we have.
- 27:57Speaker 1: Are these furs? Are they like Tier one?
- 28:00Speaker 3: Yeah? Okay, take your pick.
- 28:02Speaker 1: Good on, y.
- 28:05Speaker 3: God, I don't know. There's a ton of stuff. I'm
- 28:06Speaker 3: just trying to struggle.
- 28:07Speaker 1: Jewelry made by my wife that we collected my hand
- 28:11Speaker 1: rock counting, and then she turned some of that stuff
- 28:13Speaker 1: into earrings and necklaces.
- 28:14Speaker 3: Beaver fur pillows.
- 28:16Speaker 1: Oh yeah, those were given to us and the live
- 28:19Speaker 1: show in the uh.
- 28:23Speaker 3: There's some trips. There's trips in there. There's an there's
- 28:27Speaker 3: an odd ad hunting, there.
- 28:30Speaker 1: A lot of things. Go check that out. It'll be
- 28:33Speaker 1: up in march.
- 28:34Speaker 3: Here.
- 28:34Speaker 1: Does everybody have an answer? Who's gonna come up with
- 28:36Speaker 1: an answer? Steve? How do you feel about your answer?
- 28:38Speaker 1: You think you got it?
- 28:39Speaker 3: A spelt canyon rock.
- 28:41Speaker 1: Okay, everybody ready, go ahead and reveal your answers. We
- 28:46Speaker 1: have Brad saying break, Claire saying gully, Mary saying creek,
- 28:50Speaker 1: Cody without an answer, Michael saying holler, Kyle without an answer,
- 28:54Speaker 1: Logan saying Draine, Keith saying gully, Steve saying chasm. The
- 29:00Speaker 1: correct answer is gully. A few of you, Oh God,
- 29:04Speaker 1: that right of a bit. There are rules about the
- 29:09Speaker 1: difference between gulch, gorge, and gully, but most agree that
- 29:13Speaker 1: gorges are the biggest, and gullies are the smallest. Gorges
- 29:17Speaker 1: usually have streams running through them, while gulches and gullies
- 29:20Speaker 1: are typically dry but prone to flash floods. Does that
- 29:24Speaker 1: check out now, Steve?
- 29:25Speaker 3: Yeah, those agree? Gully problem is I got onto that
- 29:31Speaker 3: auction house of bodities and stopped thinking about my answer.
- 29:33Speaker 1: We distracted him. Well done. Question seven, The topic is hunting?
- 29:39Speaker 1: Which two Looney Tunes characters had their guns taken away
- 29:43Speaker 1: in twenty twenty? This is question seven. Topic is hunting?
- 29:50Speaker 1: Which two Looney Tunes characters had their guns taken away
- 29:55Speaker 1: in twenty twenty? Those folks with kids who are currently
- 30:02Speaker 1: playing are the Looney Tunes still relevant? Is that something
- 30:06Speaker 1: that's that's ever been on at your house? Steve?
- 30:08Speaker 3: No, they don't watch you Looney Tunes.
- 30:10Speaker 7: No, it's all about cocoa melon and stuff like that.
- 30:13Speaker 3: OK.
- 30:13Speaker 5: Yeah, it's awful.
- 30:15Speaker 3: They were. They were into Looney Tunes for a while.
- 30:19Speaker 3: Oh my gosh.
- 30:20Speaker 1: Which two Looney Tunes characters had their guns taken away?
- 30:23Speaker 1: First and last name? Twenty? If they if they have
- 30:30Speaker 1: If they have three words in their name, put all three.
- 30:32Speaker 1: If they have one word, just put the one. If
- 30:34Speaker 1: they got two put two. That's what I'll tell you. Logan,
- 30:38Speaker 1: which two Looney Tunes characters had their guns taken away
- 30:42Speaker 1: in twenty twenties? Everybody ready? Oh, Logan, do you have
- 30:46Speaker 1: one of them?
- 30:47Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 30:47Speaker 1: Oh yeah, Steve, do you have both?
- 30:53Speaker 3: I don't know. I'm not doing too good today.
- 30:55Speaker 1: Man reminder that he declared this an easy round.
- 31:00Speaker 3: Uh.
- 31:00Speaker 1: Question three. Now we're onto question seven. Logan, I think
- 31:06Speaker 1: we're running out of the time. Go ahead, We're out
- 31:09Speaker 1: a phone a friend. But if they had to use
- 31:11Speaker 1: phone a friend, they burned them. By question five. Do
- 31:15Speaker 1: some folks back there know it? They they do? Okay,
- 31:20Speaker 1: is everybody ready? Go ahead and reveal your answers. We
- 31:24Speaker 1: have Brad saying Elmer Fudd Yosemite, Sam Claire saying Elmer
- 31:28Speaker 1: Fudd Yosemite, Sam Mary sang Elmer Fudd, Daffy Duck, Cody
- 31:33Speaker 1: sang SpongeBob, and Patrick Michael saying Elmer Fudd, Daffy Duck,
- 31:40Speaker 1: Kyle saying Wiley Coyote, and Sam Logan saying e Fudd
- 31:45Speaker 1: and Sylvester Keith saying Elmer Fudd, Steve saying what's Elmer Fudd?
- 31:50Speaker 1: And Wiley coyote. The two characters are Elmer Fudd and Yosemite.
- 31:57Speaker 1: Sam had foe could get that right, un Quit the showrunner.
- 32:04Speaker 1: The showrunner told The New York Times quote, We're not
- 32:06Speaker 1: doing guns, but we can do cartoony violence, TNT, the
- 32:10Speaker 1: ACME stuff. All that was kind of grandfathered in. Instead
- 32:14Speaker 1: of firearms, Elmer Fudd's shotgun was replaced by a scythe
- 32:18Speaker 1: and yosemite Sam's pistols were replaced by a sickle.
- 32:21Speaker 3: Scyth is way worse.
- 32:22Speaker 1: That seems You're right. That seems far scarier to chase
- 32:27Speaker 1: a rabbit or a.
- 32:28Speaker 3: Duck scythe syth.
- 32:31Speaker 1: I guess I do is we're a sickle. Imagine you know,
- 32:35Speaker 1: Yosemite Sam carrying a sickle now instead of his pistols.
- 32:40Speaker 1: Question eight. The topic is wildlife. This next great question
- 32:43Speaker 1: is via Nick McCoy. According to the National Park Service,
- 32:48Speaker 1: this mammal makes up ninety percent of a blackfooted ferrets diet.
- 32:55Speaker 1: We'll get a scoreboard update from Fill the engineer after this.
- 32:58Speaker 1: This is question eight. The topic is wildlife. According to
- 33:02Speaker 1: the National Park Service, this mammal makes up ninety percent
- 33:06Speaker 1: of a blackfooted ferrets diet. Niks, Steve, what question are
- 33:11Speaker 1: we on? This is question eight? You get a scoreboard
- 33:14Speaker 1: update from Phil after this? What do you got, Krinn?
- 33:17Speaker 1: What's on your Steve is confident?
- 33:21Speaker 3: What's that saying?
- 33:22Speaker 1: For Logan and Keith? Krinn wrote something on a whiteboard
- 33:26Speaker 1: that she didn't want us to acknowledge, and now she
- 33:28Speaker 1: wants us to acknowledge now she said, don't bring it up?
- 33:30Speaker 3: What is it?
- 33:35Speaker 1: How are we doing here on coming up with the
- 33:37Speaker 1: mammal that makes up ninety percent of a blackfoot of
- 33:40Speaker 1: Fairret's eye. This side of the room is confident. This
- 33:43Speaker 1: side of the room does not appear to know it.
- 33:46Speaker 1: I call this the nice thing is they're all sitting
- 33:48Speaker 1: so close that if one of you knows it, like
- 33:50Speaker 1: all four of you should.
- 33:51Speaker 2: Know at that point, it would be dishonest.
- 33:55Speaker 4: Spencer, if you encourage cheating, we'll take.
- 34:01Speaker 3: Play this game differently.
- 34:04Speaker 1: It's everybody ready, go ahead and reveal your answers. We
- 34:10Speaker 1: have Brad saying mice, Claire saying rabbit, Mary saying mice,
- 34:13Speaker 1: Cody saying fox, Michael saying mouse, Kyle saying pine, squirrel,
- 34:18Speaker 1: Logan sang field mice, Keith saying prairie dog, Steve saying,
- 34:22Speaker 1: prairie dog. They got it the correct answers. Prairie dog
- 34:27Speaker 1: biologists estimate that one blackfooted ferret will eat over one
- 34:31Speaker 1: hundred prairie dogs in a year, and it takes one
- 34:34Speaker 1: hundred acres of prairie dog colony to support one blackfooted
- 34:38Speaker 1: ferret family. The remainder of their diet includes mice, rats,
- 34:42Speaker 1: ground squirrels, rabbits, birds, snakes, and insects. Steve, you knew
- 34:48Speaker 1: that one right away.
- 34:51Speaker 3: That's how blackfooted farrots got wiped out. It's prairie dog poisoning.
- 34:57Speaker 3: That was question a nearly wiped out and I could
- 35:01Speaker 3: get into the whole thing with MATIZZI. See I have
- 35:03Speaker 3: a good tribute player.
- 35:05Speaker 1: We'll lind out here, Phil. How is Steve doing.
- 35:09Speaker 11: The only person who is not in the competition for
- 35:12Speaker 11: the win is Kyle. He's got two points. Everyone else
- 35:15Speaker 11: is still in the game though. We've got Cody with three, Steve, Michael,
- 35:20Speaker 11: Mary Logan, Claire and Brad. I'll have four points apiece,
- 35:24Speaker 11: and in first place it's Keith. He's got five points.
- 35:29Speaker 1: Keith. The audience likes that, everywhere supportive of you being
- 35:33Speaker 1: in first place.
- 35:34Speaker 5: I love it.
- 35:34Speaker 3: It's the mullet.
- 35:35Speaker 5: That's a big part of that. Guys.
- 35:37Speaker 3: So I'm feeling a lot better. I'm gonna pull ahead
- 35:40Speaker 3: and win. Dude.
- 35:40Speaker 1: Two questions left. This is question nine. The topic is cooking.
- 35:45Speaker 1: What type of fish is grablax? What type of fish
- 35:52Speaker 1: is grab lax? This is question nine. The topic was cooking.
- 35:57Speaker 1: Steve knows it. He might be the only one. He declared,
- 36:01Speaker 1: he's going to catch up. He's going to need to
- 36:03Speaker 1: get this one right. Keith is going to need to
- 36:05Speaker 1: get it wrong.
- 36:06Speaker 3: Can you do your little thing you do about how
- 36:08Speaker 3: specific you want it?
- 36:10Speaker 1: I want you to be specific enough that if you
- 36:14Speaker 1: thought the answer was a white tail deer, you would
- 36:18Speaker 1: say a white tail deer. You wouldn't have to say
- 36:21Speaker 1: who's deer? And deer wouldn't be good enough. I think
- 36:29Speaker 1: now I've worked myself into a pretzel. Saying deer would
- 36:33Speaker 1: be good enough. You just say deer, that would be right.
- 36:37Speaker 4: This is another one. You're rent a lot of shame
- 36:39Speaker 4: to my family. This is very Norwegian.
- 36:42Speaker 1: Olio if I get this wrong?
- 36:45Speaker 5: Nice throwing bones out over there?
- 36:49Speaker 1: Looking for what type of fish is grab last? Oh wait,
- 36:53Speaker 1: Logan had something come to him thinks he knows it now, Michael,
- 37:00Speaker 1: while we have a second for Logan to change his answer,
- 37:03Speaker 1: can you tell us about the Meat Eater Experiences some
- 37:06Speaker 1: relevant info to share coming up sooner, right.
- 37:08Speaker 5: Yeah, definitely.
- 37:09Speaker 8: So the Meat Eater Experiences is a cool new program

- 37:36Speaker 8: The first two trips we have booked for the fall,
- 37:40Speaker 8: or we will be accepting bookings for the fall excuse me,

- 38:00Speaker 1: With very limited spots, right, like how many people on
- 38:02Speaker 1: each trip?
- 38:03Speaker 5: Very limited?
- 38:03Speaker 3: Spot limited, not very limited.
- 38:07Speaker 10: Fairly limited, I would say, Michael, when you're down there
- 38:12Speaker 10: discourage people. Yeah, I would say there's some urgency around
- 38:16Speaker 10: it because obviously there's gonna be some really coveted spots
- 38:18Speaker 10: and uh, you know, first come, first serve basis.
- 38:21Speaker 5: So we're really excited to launch us for twenty twenty four.
- 38:24Speaker 1: Maybe one of these trips will have some gravlax And
- 38:26Speaker 1: I don't know will gravlax be fish? Don't don't help him.
- 38:32Speaker 8: Everybody read, but none of these fish will we turn
- 38:35Speaker 8: into gravlax?
- 38:36Speaker 3: It is?
- 38:36Speaker 1: Everybody ready, go ahead and reveal your answers. We have
- 38:40Speaker 1: Brad saying cod, Claire saying salmon, Mary saying salmon, Cody
- 38:44Speaker 1: is saying, let's said say brown trout, rainbow trout, Michael
- 38:48Speaker 1: saying salmon, Kyle saying carp, Logan saying herring, Keith saying
- 38:53Speaker 1: lin cod, Steve saying salmon. The correct answer is salmon.
- 38:57Speaker 3: I don't know if you want to Atlantic salmon.
- 38:59Speaker 1: Doesn't have that specific Gravlax has Nordic origins that go
- 39:04Speaker 1: back to the fourteenth century Sweden. He was created by
- 39:08Speaker 1: fishermen who salted salmon and then buried it in the
- 39:11Speaker 1: sand above the tideline. To learn how to make it,
- 39:13Speaker 1: go to the medieater dot com and watch our video
- 39:16Speaker 1: called how to make gravlax Phail. We have one question left.
- 39:21Speaker 1: Who remains in the game?
- 39:23Speaker 11: Is a tight game We've got uh let's see, I'm
- 39:26Speaker 11: trying to think who's because that was question nine, right,
- 39:29Speaker 11: So the only people left now are Logan and Brad
- 39:33Speaker 11: who have four points, and then we've got a five
- 39:36Speaker 11: way tie for first place between Claire, Keith, Mary, Michael,
- 39:39Speaker 11: and Steve who all have five points a piece.
- 39:42Speaker 1: What is happening?
- 39:43Speaker 3: I think a little commentary my comeback would be good. Phil.
- 39:48Speaker 1: This is question ten. The topic is fishing. Game and
- 39:52Speaker 1: Fish magazine declared this river, which flows through Washington, d C.
- 39:57Speaker 1: To be one of the nation's best waterways for cat fishing.
- 40:02Speaker 1: Game and Fish declared this river, which flows through Washington,
- 40:06Speaker 1: d C. To be one of the nation's best waterways
- 40:10Speaker 1: for cat fishing. You got this one, Claria, I'm not
- 40:16Speaker 1: feeling very confident, Okay. Logan is trying to intimidate Claire Man.
- 40:21Speaker 3: We're going cat fishing this weekend, but the weather is
- 40:23Speaker 3: turnings gonna be winter again. Pone our catfishing troop, Steve
- 40:28Speaker 3: do you.
- 40:28Speaker 1: Have this one right. Logan appears to have this one right.
- 40:32Speaker 1: Who's like, who else is left in the game?
- 40:34Speaker 3: You you threw it down because you're mad or because
- 40:37Speaker 3: you like Mic drop Mic drove to be wrong. Brain,
- 40:45Speaker 3: I'm entirely certain.
- 40:47Speaker 1: Mary.
- 40:48Speaker 5: Do you have this one?
- 40:49Speaker 1: Mary has this one right about the end of the
- 40:52Speaker 1: couch there, Cody, Michael, you guys have this got this
- 40:57Speaker 1: one right?
- 40:57Speaker 3: No? Okay, Keith, I've caught catfish in this.
- 41:01Speaker 1: River before, Okay, So I'm gonna get you an extra
- 41:04Speaker 1: bonus points. Claire, do you have a narrow down to
- 41:09Speaker 1: a few rivers?
- 41:11Speaker 4: I lived in Philadelphia for years and I can't think
- 41:14Speaker 4: of a single river on the East coast right now.
- 41:16Speaker 1: It's under your problem. We will go to a tie
- 41:19Speaker 1: breaker if we have multiple people tied at the end
- 41:23Speaker 1: of this game. It's everybody ready, Keith.
- 41:28Speaker 5: Yeah, I just raised something.
- 41:30Speaker 1: Go ahead and reveal your answers. We have Brad saying
- 41:33Speaker 1: the Potomac, Claire saying the Potomac.
- 41:35Speaker 3: We're saying the.
- 41:36Speaker 1: Delaware Cody without an answer, Michael saying the Potomac, Kyle
- 41:40Speaker 1: saying the Delaware, Logan saying Potomac, Keith saying Potomac, Steve
- 41:44Speaker 1: saying Potomac, they got it. The correct answer is the
- 41:47Speaker 1: Potomac River. Game and Fish Magazine said the Potomac is
- 41:51Speaker 1: one of the best blue catfish factories in the nation,
- 41:55Speaker 1: largely thanks to the river's abundance of gizzard shed. Blue
- 41:58Speaker 1: catfish aren't native to the Chesapeake River system. They were
- 42:01Speaker 1: stocked there in the nineteen seventies with state agencies hoping
- 42:05Speaker 1: to create a new sport fishery as stripe bass populations
- 42:09Speaker 1: were on a steep decline. That shocked me to learn
- 42:12Speaker 1: that they're not native there. They'd be like if someone
- 42:13Speaker 1: told me white tails aren't native to Illinois or something
- 42:16Speaker 1: like that.
- 42:17Speaker 3: They feel like they.
- 42:18Speaker 1: Feel like they belock. I realized, well, blue catfish can
- 42:25Speaker 1: swim pretty fun. They had to go through They had
- 42:28Speaker 1: to go through some brackish water to get there. Phil,
- 42:32Speaker 1: who is going to overtime?
- 42:35Speaker 11: It is exciting. You've got a four way tie going
- 42:37Speaker 11: into overtime. You've got Claire, Keith, Michael, and Steve with
- 42:40Speaker 11: six points.
- 42:41Speaker 1: Claire, Keith, Michael, and Steve. This is question eleven. Play
- 42:47Speaker 1: the drop. Phil doesn't said at all. First last second,
- 42:58Speaker 1: you can be third, fourth, cow mgfieth Little Easter Egg
- 43:04Speaker 1: by Phil There, he played the old tiebreaker sounder. The
- 43:07Speaker 1: tie breaking question will be numerical, so whoever is closest
- 43:11Speaker 1: to the correct answer will be declared the winner. The
- 43:14Speaker 1: topic is conservation. What year were the first fourteen wolves
- 43:19Speaker 1: reintroduced into Yellowstone National Park? Steve is so quick to
- 43:25Speaker 1: answer that it appears as though.
- 43:27Speaker 7: He may know it.
- 43:29Speaker 1: Steve, do you know this one?
- 43:32Speaker 3: I'm within a year?
- 43:33Speaker 1: Okay, that's what you have to beat. Steve thinks he's
- 43:36Speaker 1: in with within one year of the correct answer. Now,
- 43:39Speaker 1: if you're not in the tiebreaker, you should play along anyway,
- 43:42Speaker 1: because if one of you hits this right on the nose,
- 43:44Speaker 1: neither will add an extra one hundred dollars to the donation.
- 43:49Speaker 3: Give in my shirt, wipe my answer away? Which I
- 43:51Speaker 3: feel like is God, tell me.
- 43:57Speaker 1: What year where the first fourteen wolves reintroduced into Yellowstone
- 44:02Speaker 1: National Park? He's got on his side for this one,
- 44:05Speaker 1: and divine intervention apparently not wiped away his board to
- 44:10Speaker 1: try to steer him different.
- 44:12Speaker 3: I did change it because I knew I had it
- 44:14Speaker 3: to one. Damn it. I want to put it back though,
- 44:16Speaker 3: because what it feels the devil that did that?
- 44:21Speaker 1: Keith, what's what's the spiritual world like in the first
- 44:25Speaker 1: Light store? Do you ever encounter any any ghosts? And
- 44:28Speaker 1: he demons anything like that. What how can you help out?
- 44:30Speaker 1: Steve Black widows Okay, that's close.
- 44:34Speaker 7: Few few lonely ladies wander through from time to time.
- 44:38Speaker 3: But that's.
- 44:40Speaker 1: Okay.
- 44:40Speaker 3: We get here.
- 44:41Speaker 1: Okay, old ladies, but they're not quite ghosts.
- 44:44Speaker 3: Keith says, they're close their future ghosts.
- 44:49Speaker 1: What year were the first fourteen wolves reintroduced into Yellowstone
- 44:54Speaker 1: National Park?
- 44:55Speaker 3: Oh, dude, I got with him one year.
- 44:57Speaker 1: Everybody ready, go ahead and reveal your answers. We have
- 45:03Speaker 1: Brad saying nineteen eighty two, Claire saying nineteen ninety one,
- 45:07Speaker 1: Mary saying two thousand and six, Cody saying two thousand three,
- 45:11Speaker 1: Michael sang nineteen ninety two, Kyle sang two thousand two,
- 45:15Speaker 1: Logan sang two thousand and two, Keith saying nineteen ninety three,
- 45:19Speaker 1: Steve saying nineteen ninety five. One of you is right
- 45:22Speaker 1: on the nose.
- 45:23Speaker 3: It's me.
- 45:24Speaker 1: The correct answer is nineteen ninety five. Steve got it.
- 45:31Speaker 3: I was so disappointed.
- 45:33Speaker 1: He's the only one happy for himself.
- 45:36Speaker 5: What was the original year? What was the original year
- 45:38Speaker 5: that God erased?
- 45:39Speaker 3: Well, I had ninety six, and then there was then
- 45:42Speaker 3: someone stepped in from higher above. It erased my board, dude,
- 45:46Speaker 3: So I went with the other year. I thought it was.
- 45:48Speaker 1: In January of nineteen ninety five, fourteen wolves from Jasper
- 45:53Speaker 1: National Park in Alberta were released into Yellowstone. Almost immediately,
- 45:57Speaker 1: the alpha male left the park and crossed in to Montana.
- 46:01Speaker 1: He was poached a couple months later by a bear
- 46:03Speaker 1: hunter near Red Lodge nineteen ninety five. Steve, what were
- 46:07Speaker 1: you doing in nineteen ninety five?
- 46:09Speaker 3: Well, I moved to Montana in ninety six.
- 46:11Speaker 1: Oh wow, that was a bone I knew.
- 46:13Speaker 3: Yeah, Well I knew it was right. Yeah, I knew
- 46:15Speaker 3: it was right.
- 46:15Speaker 1: Then Steve is our winner. He gets to choose where
- 46:19Speaker 1: the six hundred dollars donation goes from me. Did your
- 46:22Speaker 1: six hundred dollars six? Because you got it right on
- 46:24Speaker 1: the nose for the tie breaker meat Eater will add
- 46:26Speaker 1: an extra one hundred dollars to the donation. Steve, where
- 46:30Speaker 1: is that six hundred dollars going to go?
- 46:32Speaker 3: Because we were talking about the auction house of oddities
- 46:35Speaker 3: coming up, I want to put my six hundred dollars
- 46:37Speaker 3: into me Eater's land Access initiative.
- 46:39Speaker 1: Which is what the auction house will help.
- 46:42Speaker 3: Yeah, the auction House of Oddities supports it. So just
- 46:44Speaker 3: to get the pot, you know, little pot of grease going,
- 46:46Speaker 3: I'm gonna put that money right in there.
- 46:49Speaker 1: Who got second place from first Light? So one of you,
- 46:51Speaker 1: one of you needs to have bragging rights. Who was
- 46:53Speaker 1: the closest? No, Keith, were you and the tie breaker?
- 46:59Speaker 7: I was?
- 46:59Speaker 1: Okay, Keith is the first Light winner, then Keith, you
- 47:02Speaker 1: get to hold that title. Wow. Uh, attitudes really changed
- 47:09Speaker 1: around here when we we we said Keith is the winner.
- 47:15Speaker 1: Keith will come back next year and you can defend
- 47:18Speaker 1: your title.
- 47:18Speaker 5: Man, love it.
- 47:19Speaker 1: Thanks for having this beautiful store here. And Haley, I'm
- 47:22Speaker 1: jealous that it's five hours away from us. I'd love
- 47:25Speaker 1: to come by and hang out with you guys. Keith,
- 47:27Speaker 1: you make you make the coffee in the office. Is
- 47:29Speaker 1: that what I heard you declaring?
- 47:30Speaker 7: It used to be a big coffee guy at the office.
- 47:32Speaker 7: I'll get there early, get the pots loaded up.
- 47:34Speaker 3: Then you quit.
- 47:35Speaker 5: I moved here.
- 47:38Speaker 3: The store.
- 47:38Speaker 1: Okay, Yeah, come on in here, see Keith, see Mary
- 47:42Speaker 1: they'll get you equipped for whatever your next outdoor adventure is.
