- 0:13Speaker 1: Hello you guys, Welcome back to another episode of the
- 0:16Speaker 1: Hogrel Energy Podcast. I'm your host, Kayleie, and this is
- 0:19Speaker 1: your weekly reminder that it's a new day, a new week,
- 0:22Speaker 1: a new mindset, and another day for you to become
- 0:24Speaker 1: the hot gral energy you want to attract. Hello you guys,
- 0:27Speaker 1: Happy Wednesday, Welcome to another episode. I cannot believe it,
- 0:33Speaker 1: but we are entering May this week and my mindset
- 0:36Speaker 1: has been fully summer like. I'm locked in. I'm ready
- 0:40Speaker 1: to take on the summer season. I think everyone can
- 0:43Speaker 1: agree that the motivation that comes within you for the
- 0:47Speaker 1: summer season is unmatched. I feel like I'm at my
- 0:50Speaker 1: happiest self. I feel like I'm definitely always more energetic
- 0:54Speaker 1: in the summer, wanting to get out of the house
- 0:57Speaker 1: do things. I honestly feel like if I lived in
- 0:59Speaker 1: a warmer climate like Florida or anywhere warm, I feel
- 1:03Speaker 1: like I would thrive the entire year, just because my
- 1:05Speaker 1: body solely relies on the weather. If the weather is
- 1:09Speaker 1: not one hundred percent like, i feel like I'm not productive.
- 1:13Speaker 1: I don't want to do anything. I just want to
- 1:14Speaker 1: stay in my bed, Whereas when the sun is out,
- 1:17Speaker 1: I'm like get me outside. I want to do things,
- 1:19Speaker 1: I want to get out of the house all that.
- 1:21Speaker 1: So I don't know. I know it's a thing that
- 1:23Speaker 1: some people really rely for their mental health when it
- 1:26Speaker 1: comes to weather, and unfortunately that is my situation. But
- 1:29Speaker 1: I do always try and have a positive mindset when
- 1:32Speaker 1: it comes to the winter season and the gloomy days
- 1:34Speaker 1: and all that. Of course, I always try my best
- 1:36Speaker 1: to get through it. But you know, everyone has their
- 1:39Speaker 1: own little thing when it comes to their productivity levels
- 1:42Speaker 1: and energy levels and all that. I actually had a
- 1:45Speaker 1: really off week last week. I felt like I was
- 1:47Speaker 1: really in a funk, and I don't know, I think
- 1:49Speaker 1: it played a factor with multiple things. I was kind
- 1:52Speaker 1: of off with my routine last week, just in terms
- 1:55Speaker 1: of like my workout classes. They were kind of like
- 1:57Speaker 1: scattered around. It wasn't really consistent. So usually when I'm
- 2:00Speaker 1: out of routine, I do find that it kind of
- 2:02Speaker 1: messes with my head. The weather was completely off the
- 2:05Speaker 1: entire week. We had rainy mornings and then sunny afternoons
- 2:09Speaker 1: or vice versa, sunny mornings rainy afternoons. Like every day
- 2:12Speaker 1: there was rain, but it just the weather was just
- 2:14Speaker 1: on and off all day. So that to me really
- 2:17Speaker 1: just messes up with my mind because it's like, what's
- 2:19Speaker 1: going on. Is it going to be a nice day
- 2:20Speaker 1: where I'm going to get out of the house or
- 2:22Speaker 1: is it going to be a gloomy day where I'm
- 2:24Speaker 1: trapping myself inside and I'm not leaving the house. And
- 2:26Speaker 1: then thirdly, it was my time of the month last week,
- 2:29Speaker 1: so of course whenever it's like a few days before
- 2:31Speaker 1: your period and like the days of your period, I
- 2:34Speaker 1: don't know, I'm not feeling my best self and I'm
- 2:36Speaker 1: sure you guys can agree to that. So there was
- 2:37Speaker 1: just like multiple factors that just made me feel a
- 2:40Speaker 1: little off this week. But I'm going into a better
- 2:43Speaker 1: week this week with more of a positive mindset. We
- 2:45Speaker 1: had our first beautiful day yesterday. It was twenty one
- 2:49Speaker 1: degrees out and oh my goodness, guys, I could not
- 2:52Speaker 1: be happier. I have not felt that warm weather here
- 2:56Speaker 1: in Ottawa since I don't even know since last summer,
- 2:59Speaker 1: so it felt really nice to have that beautiful weather outside.
- 3:03Speaker 1: And I did challenge myself for the start of the
- 3:06Speaker 1: week and one of my goals for the summer this year,
- 3:09Speaker 1: which we're going to talk about, is walking more, and
- 3:13Speaker 1: I've been wanting to reach fifteen thousand steps a day,
- 3:15Speaker 1: which sounds crazy because usually I'm only hitting maybe eight
- 3:20Speaker 1: to ten thousand steps a day, like sometimes not even
- 3:22Speaker 1: ten thousand steps a day. Like I'm trying super hard,
- 3:25Speaker 1: but I'm like, you know what, I feel like I
- 3:26Speaker 1: need to go in with the plan. So I kind
- 3:28Speaker 1: of created a plan for my walking day yesterday to
- 3:31Speaker 1: hit fifteen thousand steps, and I measured out my daily
- 3:36Speaker 1: walk route that I usually go on with Freddy, and
- 3:38Speaker 1: I almost reach five thousand steps every single time when
- 3:41Speaker 1: I do that route. So I'm like, Okay, if I
- 3:43Speaker 1: do that three times a day, or if I break
- 3:45Speaker 1: it up, like you know, an hour on the walking
- 3:47Speaker 1: pad inside my house and then two walks one in
- 3:49Speaker 1: the morning one in the evening, that is around five
- 3:52Speaker 1: thousand steps, I should be able to hit fifteen thousand
- 3:54Speaker 1: steps a day. So again, it's a new goal that
- 3:57Speaker 1: I'm introducing into my routine. It's something that I'm trying
- 4:00Speaker 1: to vlog for you guys. If you're the kind of
- 4:02Speaker 1: person that wants to start tracking their steps or increase
- 4:05Speaker 1: your walking and all that, it's a great vlog to
- 4:08Speaker 1: kind of reference so I started blogging it and I
- 4:10Speaker 1: posted my first blog on TikTok for that walking tracking situation.
- 4:16Speaker 1: So if you guys want to join in, definitely make
- 4:17Speaker 1: sure to follow me on TikTok. But as you can
- 4:19Speaker 1: see in today's episode, we are really locking in for
- 4:23Speaker 1: summer of twenty twenty five. I cannot believe that we
- 4:26Speaker 1: are officially here again. I feel like every time I
- 4:29Speaker 1: think of summer, I think of just positive vibes, positive mindset.
- 4:32Speaker 1: I think of goals that we want to achieve ourselves.
- 4:35Speaker 1: The ideal bucket list of just things that we want
- 4:37Speaker 1: to do for the summer season, travel, day trips, fun
- 4:41Speaker 1: things to do like getting outside, walking with friends, doing
- 4:44Speaker 1: workout classes, going to coffee shops, going to farmers' markets.
- 4:47Speaker 1: Oh my god, I can literally list one thousand amazing
- 4:50Speaker 1: things that happen in the summer. And we're doing our
- 4:52Speaker 1: backyard this year, so I know I have a lot
- 4:54Speaker 1: of fun things planned for our backyard to do with
- 4:56Speaker 1: friends and family. Also just decorating the backyard, it's going
- 4:59Speaker 1: to be super fun. So just a lot of fun
- 5:02Speaker 1: plans happening here. But let's talk about some May and
- 5:05Speaker 1: summer goals and this could really help inspire you to
- 5:08Speaker 1: create goals for yourself. I always recommend creating three to
- 5:11Speaker 1: five goals a month or for a new season, just
- 5:14Speaker 1: things that you want to do to create a healthier
- 5:16Speaker 1: lifestyle for yourself. So the first goal that I recommend
- 5:20Speaker 1: setting is a fun movement goal. So this could be walking,
- 5:23Speaker 1: it could be running, it could be biking, it could
- 5:25Speaker 1: be finding a workout class that you enjoy. As I said,
- 5:28Speaker 1: my fun movement right now is aiming to walk fifteen
- 5:31Speaker 1: thousand steps a day. What I'm really trying to do
- 5:33Speaker 1: is just change up my routine by creating a consistent
- 5:35Speaker 1: walking schedule. As I said, I want to walk in
- 5:38Speaker 1: the morning, I want to walk in the evening, have
- 5:39Speaker 1: a little break around noon to go outside or on
- 5:42Speaker 1: my walking pad to get more steps in, and just
- 5:45Speaker 1: really walking three times a day and hitting that overall goal,
- 5:48Speaker 1: which is the fifteen thousand steps. Another thing that we
- 5:51Speaker 1: really want to do this summer that I've actually brought
- 5:53Speaker 1: up in the podcast a lot was figuring out a
- 5:55Speaker 1: hobby to do with Zach on the weekends, and we
- 5:58Speaker 1: really wanted to evolve, like moving our bodies. And there
- 6:01Speaker 1: was two things that we honestly think we could be
- 6:03Speaker 1: pretty consistent with on Saturday mornings or Sunday mornings, and
- 6:07Speaker 1: that is going to play tennis or pick a ball
- 6:10Speaker 1: at a court along with running. So running is something
- 6:14Speaker 1: that I am very much into. I usually run every summer.
- 6:18Speaker 1: I don't really run during the fall or winter season.
- 6:20Speaker 1: It's just a preference. I don't really like to run
- 6:22Speaker 1: in the colder weather. But now that summer is approaching,
- 6:25Speaker 1: I do love running on the weekends and the trails
- 6:28Speaker 1: and being outside. And Zach has a love slash hate
- 6:32Speaker 1: relationship with cardio, but he knows that he should incorporate
- 6:35Speaker 1: it into his workout routine. So when I brought Zach
- 6:38Speaker 1: to his first spinco class around this time last year,
- 6:42Speaker 1: he really loved it. I just don't think the atmosphere
- 6:44Speaker 1: was really for him. It just was like not his vibe.
- 6:47Speaker 1: Like he liked the sweat, he liked the cardio, but
- 6:50Speaker 1: he didn't really like the atmosphere he was in, which
- 6:52Speaker 1: is so fair. So I mentioned it to him a
- 6:55Speaker 1: few weeks ago, I said, why don't we start running together, Like,
- 6:57Speaker 1: invest in good running shoes. We can run with the
- 6:59Speaker 1: dog in the trails. Do it once a week that way,
- 7:01Speaker 1: you're getting your cardio session in, we're doing a workout together.
- 7:05Speaker 1: It's something that we can look forward to every weekend.
- 7:07Speaker 1: And maybe it's running to a coffee shop together. So
- 7:10Speaker 1: that's just something that I've been really wanting to do
- 7:13Speaker 1: with him, and I think it's a fun goal to
- 7:16Speaker 1: do with your partner and it allows you to have
- 7:18Speaker 1: a fun little movement in for your weekend. And again,
- 7:22Speaker 1: going to a coffee shop is something fun to do.
- 7:24Speaker 1: It's treating yourself. So all in all, it just sounds
- 7:26Speaker 1: like a fun little thing to do on the weekend
- 7:28Speaker 1: that allows us to look forward to doing. Another goal
- 7:32Speaker 1: that I'm personally working on for the summer season along
- 7:35Speaker 1: with going into May is detoxing. So I talked a
- 7:38Speaker 1: bit about going to Oxygen and that is a infrared
- 7:42Speaker 1: sauna room. So they have infred saunas and they do
- 7:45Speaker 1: heated workout classes and I would consider it a hot
- 7:49Speaker 1: Matt Pilates essentially, And they're all different classes. Some are
- 7:53Speaker 1: more of like fitness related, some are more like Matt
- 7:55Speaker 1: Pilates related. It just really depends on the class that
- 7:58Speaker 1: you pick. And I've been very very into it and
- 8:01Speaker 1: I think what I love most about it is that
- 8:03Speaker 1: I feel like I'm just sweating the shit out of
- 8:06Speaker 1: my body, and I literally feel so good after having
- 8:10Speaker 1: a class because I just feel like the heat that
- 8:12Speaker 1: you're experiencing in the room and just moving your body
- 8:16Speaker 1: in it is a feeling that I can't even describe.
- 8:19Speaker 1: It's so good for your body, it's so good for
- 8:21Speaker 1: your skin, and just overall, I feel like it's been
- 8:24Speaker 1: such a great workout to do once or twice a week,
- 8:26Speaker 1: So I definitely feel like a whole new person really
- 8:29Speaker 1: incorporating that into my routine, and it's been a very
- 8:31Speaker 1: nice change. But I just love the fact that it
- 8:36Speaker 1: has the infrared because I think that's something that I've
- 8:38Speaker 1: been missing and I've been wanting to include into my routine.
- 8:41Speaker 1: I've talked about it multiple times that I've wanted to
- 8:43Speaker 1: get asana here in the house, and I know one
- 8:45Speaker 1: day it will happen in the next house, but for now,
- 8:48Speaker 1: I do feel like oxygen is my go to spot
- 8:50Speaker 1: when it comes to just getting really good heated workouts
- 8:53Speaker 1: and getting that infrared benefit. Other ways that I plan
- 8:57Speaker 1: to detox for the summer is really get back into juice.
- 9:00Speaker 1: I feel like I'm always making like juices, more so
- 9:02Speaker 1: in the summer and less in the winter. I don't
- 9:04Speaker 1: know why, I just I feel like there's just like
- 9:07Speaker 1: this motivation of becoming the healthier version of myself in
- 9:10Speaker 1: the summer versus like the winter season. So I have
- 9:14Speaker 1: definitely been wanting to incorporate juices again by making fresh
- 9:17Speaker 1: juices with ginger, turmeric, peppermint. You know, all the benefits
- 9:22Speaker 1: those things are really great when it comes to detoxing,
- 9:24Speaker 1: Like ginger and tumeric shots are so so great for
- 9:27Speaker 1: your overall immune system. And then you know, getting some
- 9:30Speaker 1: celery and spinach and other grains in again really benefits
- 9:33Speaker 1: your skin and just your inflammatory system. And yeah, another
- 9:37Speaker 1: thing is teas. You guys know, I'm a big tea drinker,
- 9:40Speaker 1: so having a tea in the morning and tea at night.
- 9:42Speaker 1: So I really love having dandylion and peppermint teas, which
- 9:46Speaker 1: are again really great for your immune system and skin.
- 9:49Speaker 1: Another thing that you could cut down to help with
- 9:51Speaker 1: detoxing is cutting out alcohol, which I've talked a lot
- 9:55Speaker 1: about cutting out alcohol on here. I definitely don't drink
- 9:58Speaker 1: as much as I used to. I feel like every
- 10:00Speaker 1: year there's less and less alcohol that I'm drinking, which
- 10:03Speaker 1: I'm so proud of myself for doing, because alcohol is
- 10:06Speaker 1: not for everyone, and I think that's okay, and I
- 10:08Speaker 1: think eventually, as you get older, you realize if it's
- 10:11Speaker 1: for you or not. And to be honest, I know
- 10:14Speaker 1: it's not something that I fully want to cut out
- 10:16Speaker 1: because I do enjoy the odd glass of wine or
- 10:19Speaker 1: apparel sprits. But I am that kind of person where
- 10:22Speaker 1: I'm going to probably only have one to two drinks
- 10:24Speaker 1: at an outing and will most definitely be able to
- 10:26Speaker 1: drive after because I want to be able to wake
- 10:29Speaker 1: up every single morning and not feel like shit the
- 10:31Speaker 1: next day. So that's kind of like my mindset when
- 10:33Speaker 1: it comes to drinking. So having an apparall or two
- 10:36Speaker 1: or a glass of wine or two doesn't affect me
- 10:39Speaker 1: the next day, and that's all that matters. So anyways,
- 10:42Speaker 1: cutting out on alcohol or any processed foods or any
- 10:45Speaker 1: sugars will really help detox your body. Something else that
- 10:48Speaker 1: I've been wanting to get into that my mother has
- 10:51Speaker 1: been telling me to do four years. She's like, you
- 10:53Speaker 1: need to start doing this, there's such amazing benefits to it.
- 10:56Speaker 1: And that's dry brushing and lymphatic massages. You can get
- 11:00Speaker 1: a dry brush for like five dollars from Amazon or
- 11:03Speaker 1: five dollars from Walmart, and it increases your blood circulation,
- 11:06Speaker 1: it effoliates your skin, and it's supposed to just help
- 11:08Speaker 1: remove any toxins and waste. And honestly, it's just the
- 11:12Speaker 1: routine I think that you know, you have to stick
- 11:15Speaker 1: to in the morning and night. It's just something else
- 11:17Speaker 1: to add to it. And of course, like these routines
- 11:20Speaker 1: could get so long, Like let's be honest, there's people
- 11:22Speaker 1: that are doing like four to five hour routines in
- 11:25Speaker 1: their morning to make sure they hit everything, and like
- 11:27Speaker 1: that's amazing. And you know, I'm a victim to that,
- 11:30Speaker 1: where I have a long routine and I know that,
- 11:32Speaker 1: but these little things sometimes it does add up. And
- 11:34Speaker 1: it's like at the end of the day, you do
- 11:35Speaker 1: have a job and you do have to get shit done.
- 11:37Speaker 1: But it's all about trying to find ways to incorporate
- 11:40Speaker 1: these things into your routine. And as I said, it
- 11:42Speaker 1: really does help with circulation. And I think that's the
- 11:44Speaker 1: big one in my opinion, is just really just dry
- 11:47Speaker 1: brushing my whole body and getting everything circulated properly. So anyways,
- 11:51Speaker 1: if you're not doing it, definitely look into it. That's
- 11:53Speaker 1: something that I'm currently looking into and wanting to try.
- 11:56Speaker 1: The lengthatic massage. I've never actually got a lengthatic rainage
- 12:00Speaker 1: done professionally, But something that I actually purchase that I
- 12:03Speaker 1: do like once or twice a week is I use
- 12:06Speaker 1: a Guasha that's essentially the size of like my arm.
- 12:11Speaker 1: It's pretty long and it's meant for your body. So
- 12:14Speaker 1: I research techniques on YouTube on how to kind of
- 12:18Speaker 1: help with any bloating all over your body when it
- 12:20Speaker 1: comes to your legs, your waist, your arms, anyways, it
- 12:25Speaker 1: just overall really helps with any bloating and I feel like,
- 12:27Speaker 1: obviously as females, we go through periods of time where
- 12:30Speaker 1: we bloat, and I find putting oil all over my
- 12:33Speaker 1: body while using this Guasha tool really helps just like
- 12:37Speaker 1: massage the skin deep bloat and yeah, just something that
- 12:40Speaker 1: I love to do. The last goal for me for
- 12:43Speaker 1: the summer season is I've been lacking my water intake.
- 12:46Speaker 1: I don't know what it is. Maybe it's just because
- 12:48Speaker 1: I'm in a period of time where I'm sick and
- 12:50Speaker 1: tired of the taste of water. I have no idea
- 12:52Speaker 1: I'm trying to do so much better at this, but
- 12:55Speaker 1: waste to improve drinking water can obviously be you know,
- 12:58Speaker 1: getting a new water bottle. There's always motivation when you
- 13:01Speaker 1: purchase a new water bottle or just set an intention
- 13:04Speaker 1: of how much water you actually want to drink a day.
- 13:07Speaker 1: So right now, my intention with my current water bottle
- 13:10Speaker 1: is to drink two of these water bottles a day.
- 13:12Speaker 1: My water bottle, I think is thirty two ounces, so
- 13:15Speaker 1: it's around sixty four ounces of water a day, which
- 13:18Speaker 1: I think is probably pretty good. I'm not one hundred
- 13:21Speaker 1: percent sure in terms of like how much water you
- 13:22Speaker 1: should be drinking a day. Some doctors would say that
- 13:25Speaker 1: it's based off your weight, and you shouldn't just base
- 13:28Speaker 1: it off of someone else's from what I've been told,
- 13:31Speaker 1: but you could do your own research and just kind
- 13:33Speaker 1: of see what would be beneficial for yourself. But I
- 13:36Speaker 1: have about sixty four ounces of water right now. I'm
- 13:39Speaker 1: trying to set that intention for this month specifically because
- 13:43Speaker 1: as I said, I've been sucking at it lately and
- 13:45Speaker 1: I'm hoping that I can achieve that. But something else
- 13:47Speaker 1: I've been doing to try and stay hydrated is adding electrolytes,
- 13:51Speaker 1: which you can get at Amazon, you can get at Walmart.
- 13:53Speaker 1: I mean, so many brands are doing it now. But
- 13:56Speaker 1: what's great about it is that it has a nice
- 13:58Speaker 1: flavor to it. So if you're like me where you're
- 14:00Speaker 1: kind of picky on drinking water and you know you
- 14:03Speaker 1: might get annoyed of it over time, the electrolytes are
- 14:06Speaker 1: a great option to resort to. And I love how
- 14:09Speaker 1: it just makes my water taste a little bit better
- 14:12Speaker 1: and a little bit sweeter. And yeah, it's just important
- 14:15Speaker 1: to do it, especially because we're going into a warm
- 14:17Speaker 1: season and it gets so hot we do not need
- 14:19Speaker 1: to get dehydrated. So it's definitely a goal of mine
- 14:21Speaker 1: for the summer season. If you can hear the thunder
- 14:24Speaker 1: in the background, I'm sorry, as I said, the weather
- 14:26Speaker 1: has been so hit and missed these past few weeks
- 14:30Speaker 1: with the spring season, so ignore that if you hear
- 14:32Speaker 1: the thunder. One goal that I actually missed that I
- 14:35Speaker 1: wanted to talk about is for the summer, I'm really
- 14:37Speaker 1: trying to wear less and less makeup. I've been trying
- 14:41Speaker 1: to resort to spfs and tinted moisturizers versus wearing foundation
- 14:46Speaker 1: every day. And I feel like that's been a huge
- 14:48Speaker 1: game changer. So finding tinted spfs or tinted moisturizers, as
- 14:52Speaker 1: I said, really just allows your skin to breathe, because
- 14:56Speaker 1: you know, obviously, wearing heavy makeup on your face can
- 14:59Speaker 1: create just like issues with your skin, and if you're
- 15:02Speaker 1: someone like me that has sensitive skin, I do find them.
- 15:04Speaker 1: When I wear makeup every single day, my skin feels heavy.
- 15:08Speaker 1: I feel like I break out a bit more when
- 15:09Speaker 1: I'm you know, not really letting the skin breathe. So
- 15:12Speaker 1: I now only use foundation when I'm actually going out
- 15:16Speaker 1: for dinner or you know, I'm wanting to take nice
- 15:18Speaker 1: pictures or whatever the case may be. So I've been
- 15:21Speaker 1: really just trying to focus on skin care products that
- 15:23Speaker 1: really give that like glowy natural summer bronze look. And
- 15:28Speaker 1: another thing I've been starting to do is double cleanse
- 15:30Speaker 1: along with exfoliating my skin, So that just really helps
- 15:34Speaker 1: with prolonging tans, Especially when it comes to exfoliating. I
- 15:38Speaker 1: do find my tan lasts longer when I actually take
- 15:42Speaker 1: care of my body and my face when it comes
- 15:44Speaker 1: to tanning. So now that we're getting into the tanning season,
- 15:48Speaker 1: oh my god, guys, I'm so excited to have a
- 15:50Speaker 1: tan again. I lost my tan from Mexico and I'm
- 15:52Speaker 1: just like in desperate need of, you know, getting a tan,
- 15:56Speaker 1: whether it's going to get a spray tan or something.
- 15:58Speaker 1: But I'm trying not to get a spray tank because
- 15:59Speaker 1: I you know, I'm like two weeks away from being
- 16:02Speaker 1: able to lie outside and just get a natural tan,
- 16:04Speaker 1: and natural tans are the best. So yeah, ways to
- 16:08Speaker 1: prolong your tan is exfoliating, moisturizing your body at all
- 16:12Speaker 1: times because obviously when you get dry skin, it's going
- 16:15Speaker 1: to flake off and then your tan's not going to
- 16:17Speaker 1: be as noticeable. So anyways, just really trying to prioritize
- 16:20Speaker 1: the no makeup makeup along with just bodycare in general.
- 16:24Speaker 1: All right, now, let's talk about changing your mindset, because
- 16:28Speaker 1: we all know that we want to shift our mindset
- 16:30Speaker 1: from the spring season mindset where you might be like me,
- 16:34Speaker 1: where I just feel like I've been a little off
- 16:36Speaker 1: because the weather's been off, a little anxious all that.
- 16:39Speaker 1: I want to shift my mindset to more of the
- 16:41Speaker 1: positive mindset for the summer season. I don't want any
- 16:44Speaker 1: more seasonal blues. I want to completely just be positive.
- 16:47Speaker 1: This entire summer and things that we're going to do
- 16:51Speaker 1: to create that positive mindset for the summer season is
- 16:54Speaker 1: we're going to set a summer intention. So what is
- 16:57Speaker 1: your overall main goal for the summer season. And an
- 17:00Speaker 1: example of this could be I intend to be more
- 17:02Speaker 1: present in my daily life. I intend to listen to
- 17:06Speaker 1: my body's needs. So set an intention of what you
- 17:09Speaker 1: want for the summer season and just overall give yourself
- 17:13Speaker 1: that positive mindset. So for me personally, it is being
- 17:16Speaker 1: more present in my daily life, so really being able
- 17:19Speaker 1: to you know, put my phone aside after four pm
- 17:22Speaker 1: and completely live in the moment. We only have like
- 17:24Speaker 1: four to five months of nice weather where I live,
- 17:27Speaker 1: So for me, I really want to be able to
- 17:30Speaker 1: enjoy getting out of the house. Whether it's going to
- 17:33Speaker 1: see friends in a backyard and you know, having a
- 17:35Speaker 1: drink or two, buy a fire pit, or you know
- 17:38Speaker 1: going for a walk outside with Zach and Freddie and
- 17:41Speaker 1: just enjoy the nice weather, talking with each other, catching up.
- 17:44Speaker 1: Or it's finding a hobby that you could do in
- 17:46Speaker 1: the summer, like as I said, going to play pickleball, tennis,
- 17:49Speaker 1: playing sports like soccer, Like there's so many things that
- 17:52Speaker 1: you could do to get yourself outside, And I think
- 17:55Speaker 1: my intention for the summer is really just being present
- 17:59Speaker 1: and enjoying the beautiful weather that we're about to have
- 18:02Speaker 1: for the short period of time that we do and
- 18:05Speaker 1: really just set time aside from you know, not going
- 18:07Speaker 1: on social media and just really be present in my
- 18:10Speaker 1: daily life. Another thing you can do to change your
- 18:13Speaker 1: mindset is create a summer persona. What do you want
- 18:16Speaker 1: to be this summer? Do you want to be a
- 18:18Speaker 1: pilates princess? Do you want to be a night owl?
- 18:21Speaker 1: Or do you want to become a morning person? Right?
- 18:24Speaker 1: The person that you want to become for the summer season.
- 18:28Speaker 1: This allows you to shift your mindset and be more
- 18:30Speaker 1: motivated to achieve these goals. And again, we're all about
- 18:33Speaker 1: becoming the best version of ourselves, so finding ways to
- 18:35Speaker 1: motivate ourself and having an end goal is super important.
- 18:39Speaker 1: So I guess for me right now, I would consider
- 18:42Speaker 1: my persona to be the Hawkirl Walker because I'm really
- 18:46Speaker 1: just trying to achieve those fifteen thousand steps a day
- 18:49Speaker 1: and I'm really just trying to prioritize a walking schedule
- 18:52Speaker 1: into my routine. So you know, last year I would
- 18:55Speaker 1: say it was becoming a pilates princess because reformer pilates
- 18:58Speaker 1: was something that was completely new to me at this
- 19:00Speaker 1: time last year, and I was really trying to encourage
- 19:03Speaker 1: myself to try something different, and now I love it.
- 19:07Speaker 1: I do it literally almost every single day. I do
- 19:09Speaker 1: it like four times a week, four to five times
- 19:11Speaker 1: a week, and it's one of the best things that
- 19:13Speaker 1: I ever invested in, and I love doing it so much.
- 19:16Speaker 1: So this year for me is really just becoming a
- 19:19Speaker 1: Hawk Girl walker and making that my whole summer persona,
- 19:22Speaker 1: and it's just motivating myself to get outside more, which
- 19:24Speaker 1: again kind of goes back to my intention, which is
- 19:27Speaker 1: really being present in my daily life and getting outside
- 19:30Speaker 1: more and all that. So I really feel like those
- 19:32Speaker 1: two goals are kind of related. So if you can
- 19:35Speaker 1: make your intention in your summer persona something similar to
- 19:39Speaker 1: each other, that would be ideal. This one I always
- 19:43Speaker 1: think is important to do when it comes to any season, because,
- 19:46Speaker 1: let's face it, we're all about creating a positive atmosphere
- 19:50Speaker 1: a positive mindset again when it comes to these things,
- 19:52Speaker 1: but romanticizing the little things in your life. Think of
- 19:55Speaker 1: things that just bring you joy in the summer and
- 19:58Speaker 1: romanticize the shit out of it. So, you know, if
- 20:01Speaker 1: juicing is something that you love to do in the mornings,
- 20:04Speaker 1: romanticize it. If it's drinking lemon water, if it's going
- 20:07Speaker 1: to have a picnic on the beach, or you know,
- 20:10Speaker 1: watching the sunset, spending time with your husband outside, and
- 20:14Speaker 1: it could be so many things. I think these are
- 20:17Speaker 1: all things that we look forward to doing, and I
- 20:20Speaker 1: think some people just you know, write these things down thinking, Okay, yeah,
- 20:23Speaker 1: this is what I'm going to do this summer, but
- 20:24Speaker 1: you don't have the drive to actually do it, Like
- 20:27Speaker 1: you don't have the time or energy or whatever the
- 20:29Speaker 1: case may be. You need to find that motivation and
- 20:31Speaker 1: drive to allow these things to happen. Like, how are
- 20:34Speaker 1: you going to make these things happen? Okay, you know,
- 20:37Speaker 1: we're going to make every Thursday night our date night
- 20:40Speaker 1: with you know, your husband. Okay, every Thursday night, we're
- 20:43Speaker 1: going to do something different this summer, whether it's going
- 20:45Speaker 1: to get ice cream, whether it's going to watch the
- 20:47Speaker 1: sunset at the beach. Like, maybe dedicate a day where
- 20:50Speaker 1: you could actually achieve these little things and be able
- 20:52Speaker 1: to romanticize these little things. One thing for me. I
- 20:55Speaker 1: really want to try and prioritize is spending time with
- 20:57Speaker 1: my girlfriends, because I feel like a lot of us
- 21:00Speaker 1: kind of hibernated this winter season and I haven't really
- 21:02Speaker 1: had many girl nights for a period of time. So
- 21:05Speaker 1: I'm like, it'd be really nice to have like a
- 21:07Speaker 1: night in the summer where we go do things together,
- 21:10Speaker 1: whether it's golfing or you know, as I said, like
- 21:12Speaker 1: getting together, having a little wine night in the backyard,
- 21:16Speaker 1: just catching up. I think just prioritizing your friendships is crucial.
- 21:20Speaker 1: So being able to like maybe do some fun things
- 21:22Speaker 1: together and dedicate a day to do those things together
- 21:26Speaker 1: is super important. Another thing when it comes to changing
- 21:29Speaker 1: your mindset is really just focusing on moving your body
- 21:33Speaker 1: consistently but in a fun way, because you want to
- 21:36Speaker 1: look forward to your workouts. You don't want to have
- 21:38Speaker 1: to dread it. I've mentioned it so many times, but
- 21:41Speaker 1: I am not a gym Gurley. I have no interest
- 21:44Speaker 1: in going to you know, a Good Life or a
- 21:46Speaker 1: Mabody or you know, an Equinox, whatever the case may be.
- 21:49Speaker 1: I don't want to go lift weights and not have
- 21:53Speaker 1: someone walking me through a class and like fully doing it. Myself.
- 21:56Speaker 1: I personally don't find I have like I do, you
- 22:00Speaker 1: have the motivation when it comes to working out by myself,
- 22:02Speaker 1: but I don't have the focus. Like I get distracted
- 22:05Speaker 1: very easily. I do have ADHD. I don't know if
- 22:08Speaker 1: I've mentioned that year or not. So I do get
- 22:10Speaker 1: distracted very easily. When I'm in a workout class, I
- 22:13Speaker 1: am locked in. The instructor is completely doing the workout
- 22:17Speaker 1: class for the entire hour, and I'm completely locked in
- 22:19Speaker 1: for that entire hour. If I was going to run
- 22:21Speaker 1: my own workout by going to the gym and using
- 22:23Speaker 1: the weights, I know for a fact that every ten
- 22:26Speaker 1: to fifteen minutes, I would gravitate towards my phone. I
- 22:28Speaker 1: would look at my phone, maybe look at you know,
- 22:30Speaker 1: social media for like ten minutes, oh, then put it back, oh,
- 22:33Speaker 1: and then focus for another ten to fifteen minutes, and
- 22:35Speaker 1: then oh, get distracted again. Like I just can't focus
- 22:39Speaker 1: when I'm in a gym. And I also just don't
- 22:42Speaker 1: love lifting heavy weights, and that's just a personal preference.
- 22:45Speaker 1: I'm more of a low impact kind of girl. So
- 22:48Speaker 1: figure out a movement that you truly love and will
- 22:51Speaker 1: get your body moving, Because as I said, you want
- 22:54Speaker 1: to love what you do, because if you don't love
- 22:57Speaker 1: what you're doing currently for a workout, you're not going
- 22:59Speaker 1: to be system with it and you're not gonna look
- 23:02Speaker 1: forward to it. You want to be able to say
- 23:03Speaker 1: that you get to work out versus I have to
- 23:06Speaker 1: work out because you love doing that movement. You love
- 23:10Speaker 1: getting that workout in. I wake up every single morning
- 23:12Speaker 1: and I actually look forward to my plates class because
- 23:15Speaker 1: I personally love the workout. I also love the friends
- 23:18Speaker 1: that I've made through the workout class. It's something that
- 23:20Speaker 1: I look forward to literally every single day because I
- 23:23Speaker 1: get the benefit of socializing with people who I adore
- 23:26Speaker 1: along with getting a workout in that I love. So
- 23:30Speaker 1: there's two pros to that, right, So finding a movement
- 23:32Speaker 1: that you enjoy, I think is really going to create
- 23:34Speaker 1: that positive mindset for yourself, as well as eating healthy foods.
- 23:40Speaker 1: Right now, I feel like I've finally been in a
- 23:41Speaker 1: groove of looking forward to meals because I think I
- 23:44Speaker 1: was just eating the same way for such a long
- 23:46Speaker 1: period of time that I felt like I was getting
- 23:48Speaker 1: sick and tired of eating the same things. And I
- 23:51Speaker 1: feel like we finally have changed up our recipes and
- 23:54Speaker 1: I'm actually going to be starting a series starting Thursday
- 23:58Speaker 1: of healthy recipes for the summer season, so make sure
- 24:01Speaker 1: to follow me on TikTok and Instagram if you guys
- 24:03Speaker 1: want to see that. But I've finally been trying new
- 24:05Speaker 1: recipes out, and Zak and I have been obsessed with
- 24:08Speaker 1: these new recipes, and I think that's what creates the excitement,
- 24:12Speaker 1: is trying new healthy go to meals. That allows you
- 24:15Speaker 1: to look forward to trying something new as well as
- 24:19Speaker 1: something that you might really enjoy. One thing I always
- 24:21Speaker 1: recommend when you're a picky eater is if you love pizza.
- 24:26Speaker 1: Let's just say that for an example, and we both
- 24:29Speaker 1: note that. You know, if you order a pizza from Pizza, Pizza, Dominoes, whatever, like,
- 24:33Speaker 1: it's completely unhealthy. There's no nutritional benefits to it at all.
- 24:37Speaker 1: But I think what's great is you can definitely find
- 24:40Speaker 1: ways to create a healthier version of pizza. So for
- 24:44Speaker 1: me personally, I make something at home called a pa
- 24:47Speaker 1: pizza where I essentially just take a whole week pea bread.
- 24:51Speaker 1: It's got very natural ingredients in it, and then I
- 24:53Speaker 1: add toppings that you would on a pizza that are
- 24:56Speaker 1: more healthier alternatives. So instead of adding pepperoni or you know,
- 25:00Speaker 1: processed meats, I add a chicken breast, so I'll rip
- 25:02Speaker 1: up chicken. I'll add you know, peppers, onion, add some
- 25:06Speaker 1: tomato sauce, put a little bit of cheese on top,
- 25:09Speaker 1: and there's a healthier version of something unhealthy. There's also
- 25:13Speaker 1: a lot of great recipes on TikTok that talk about,
- 25:16Speaker 1: you know, a healthier version of a burger. So you
- 25:18Speaker 1: have the sweet potato burgers, you have the burger bowls. Like,
- 25:21Speaker 1: there's so many ways to find substitutions of things that
- 25:25Speaker 1: you enjoy and creating it into a healthier way by
- 25:28Speaker 1: creating healthy recipes, so you can still have all of
- 25:31Speaker 1: your favorite meals, but just finding ways to eat it
- 25:33Speaker 1: in a healthier way. So that's sometimes what we do.
- 25:36Speaker 1: Like I love eating those things, and I find it's
- 25:38Speaker 1: easy to make and it's something I look forward to.
- 25:41Speaker 1: But I also think it's good to you know, switch
- 25:43Speaker 1: up your dinner rotation by trying new recipes and be
- 25:46Speaker 1: able to look forward to trying those new things as well.
- 25:49Speaker 1: The last thing that I would recommend when it comes
- 25:51Speaker 1: to just having more of a positive mindset for the
- 25:54Speaker 1: summer season is create plans that you're going to look
- 25:57Speaker 1: forward to. So plan tiny adventures or maybe bit trips
- 26:00Speaker 1: that you've been wanting to do. Sometimes it doesn't have
- 26:03Speaker 1: to be big, but sometimes it can be big if
- 26:04Speaker 1: you want it to be. Sometimes you could just be small,
- 26:07Speaker 1: like you know, going on one day road trips, going camping,
- 26:10Speaker 1: you know, going to visit your favorite coffee shop every weekend,
- 26:13Speaker 1: going to farmers' markets, cottages on the weekend with a friend,
- 26:17Speaker 1: you know, spending nights going to the beach watching the
- 26:19Speaker 1: sunrise or sunset. It could be as little as that,
- 26:22Speaker 1: or it could be as big as you know, planning
- 26:24Speaker 1: the trip that you've been talking about for so long,
- 26:27Speaker 1: like going to Europe for two weeks, or you know,
- 26:29Speaker 1: maybe it's Hawaii, like doing those things are so important
- 26:33Speaker 1: because it allows you to have a big goal for
- 26:35Speaker 1: this summer where you want to work towards and do.
- 26:38Speaker 1: Or it could be these small little things that you've
- 26:39Speaker 1: been wanting to do for the summer season that allows
- 26:42Speaker 1: you to achieve them. So definitely make sure to plan
- 26:45Speaker 1: out some things that you're going to look forward to
- 26:47Speaker 1: this summer. It could be as small as that, or
- 26:49Speaker 1: it could be as big as what I said. When
- 26:50Speaker 1: it comes to booking a big trip, I know, one
- 26:53Speaker 1: thing that I'm really looking forward to is, you know,
- 26:55Speaker 1: having some summer date nights with Zach, going to the beach,
- 26:58Speaker 1: eating pizza together, or you know hitting up some patios,
- 27:01Speaker 1: enjoying the nice weather, having an apparel sprits or Hugo
- 27:05Speaker 1: sprits because those are usually my favorite. And yeah, it
- 27:08Speaker 1: just allows you to look forward to something. And again,
- 27:12Speaker 1: with the summer season being so short, you really want
- 27:15Speaker 1: to take advantage of really enjoying the nice weather in
- 27:18Speaker 1: these little moments that you cherish forever. So anyways, just
- 27:22Speaker 1: planning those tiny adventures and those trips are always something
- 27:26Speaker 1: that you're going to look back at and you're going
- 27:28Speaker 1: to realize how important those little moments are, and again
- 27:32Speaker 1: creates that positive mindset of you looking forward to that
- 27:35Speaker 1: one special moment or adventure. So those are things that
- 27:38Speaker 1: I would recommend when it comes to really shifting your
- 27:41Speaker 1: mindset for the summer season. And I feel like going
- 27:43Speaker 1: into May is one of the best months of the
- 27:46Speaker 1: summer season because it's officially the first month of the
- 27:49Speaker 1: summer season. I think everyone is just excited to finally
- 27:52Speaker 1: get out of their house, enjoy the warm weather, enjoy
- 27:55Speaker 1: being outdoors, start planning their summer, you know, adventures, things
- 28:00Speaker 1: that they want to do, think that they want to
- 28:01Speaker 1: achieve for theirself, all that. So I feel like May's
- 28:04Speaker 1: honestly like one of the most special months and there's
- 28:06Speaker 1: so much to look forward to in May, and I
- 28:09Speaker 1: know I'm looking forward to a very exciting month ahead.
- 28:12Speaker 1: But I hope you guys enjoyed this episode. I really
- 28:15Speaker 1: enjoyed recording last week's episode with my sister, and I
- 28:18Speaker 1: got a lot of positive feedback on that, So thank
- 28:20Speaker 1: you guys so much for sending in messages because that
- 28:22Speaker 1: was something that was very different. But we really really
- 28:25Speaker 1: enjoyed recording it and we cannot wait to do it
- 28:28Speaker 1: next month as well. We're definitely going to make it
- 28:30Speaker 1: more of an advice kind of situation where we would
- 28:33Speaker 1: love for you guys to maybe even submit situations that
- 28:37Speaker 1: you've been in that you need help with when it
- 28:38Speaker 1: comes to like friendship breakups or relationship advice, bigging out
- 28:42Speaker 1: your life all that. So I'm excited to kind of
- 28:45Speaker 1: include that advice episode for a monthly thing. So definitely
- 28:50Speaker 1: stay tuned for that for the month of May. But
- 28:52Speaker 1: I love you guys also much. Thank you guys for
- 28:54Speaker 1: listening to another episode. If you guys are new, definitely
- 28:57Speaker 1: make sure to follow at the Hawkrol Energy Instagram page.
- 29:00Speaker 1: Can also follow me Kaylie. I'm on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.
- 29:04Speaker 1: But I love you guys allso much. Thank you guys
- 29:06Speaker 1: again for listening to today's episode. I'm so excited for
- 29:09Speaker 1: summer and I'm so excited for more summer episodes to come,
- 29:13Speaker 1: so stay tuned for fun episodes. But I love you
- 29:15Speaker 1: guys also much, and I will see you guys in
- 29:17Speaker 1: next week's episode.
