- 0:04Speaker 1: You'll never believe this new show. Alert you've heard about
- 0:10Speaker 1: this one? You have you believe me? Really, thank you.
- 0:13Speaker 2: I don't like the name of it, but it's their name.
- 0:15Speaker 2: It's fine, it's totally fine. Why not because there's no
- 0:19Speaker 2: dirt in the dugout? Like you sweep the dugout out.
- 0:22Speaker 2: That's what the clubbies do, That's what the freshmen do
- 0:25Speaker 2: in high school. You sweep the dirt out of the dugout.
- 0:27Speaker 1: What about literly, well, somebody better do it. They don't
- 0:32Speaker 1: not in my tone, dug out full of dirt. Dirt
- 0:37Speaker 1: from the dugout? Is the show? The Dirt from the Dugout?
- 0:42Speaker 1: Karl Ravage and Justin Mussel. Yes, yespn's Carl Ravitch, great
- 0:47Speaker 1: broadcaster in our sport for a long time now and
- 0:49Speaker 1: their first guest was on last night, Mark de Rosa.
- 0:52Speaker 1: This one's geared towards the kiddos and the parents of
- 0:56Speaker 1: the kiddos. They are exploring the dos and don'ts in
- 0:59Speaker 1: youth baseball and AJ, I mean you and Krats at
- 1:03Speaker 1: some point will be a guest and I'm sure you
- 1:05Speaker 1: would love to talk really for hours about that topic alone.
- 1:09Speaker 1: Is there a many things that you have seen that
- 1:10Speaker 1: you love and many things that you probably would benefit
- 1:14Speaker 1: or parents would benefit from learning. When listening to people
- 1:18Speaker 1: like you, tell them what they should actually be paying
- 1:20Speaker 1: attention to with their kids as they are trying to
- 1:23Speaker 1: give them the best experience both for fun and for
- 1:27Speaker 1: training as young baseball players.
- 1:29Speaker 3: The name is good.
- 1:30Speaker 4: I don't know. I mean dirt from the dugout. It
- 1:32Speaker 4: makes total sense. You're trying to get dirt meaning the
- 1:35Speaker 4: tee from the dugout. It makes I get it. I
- 1:37Speaker 4: get the name, and I don't. I mean, I'm sure
- 1:40Speaker 4: I had dirtin the dugout. Heck, in the minor leagues,
- 1:42Speaker 4: we had durned the dugout all the time. So I
- 1:45Speaker 4: like the name. Yeah, it's cool. It's cool. You know,
- 1:48Speaker 4: people need resources in order to manage the way youth
- 1:53Speaker 4: baseball and youth sports in general are, and anything we
- 1:55Speaker 4: can give them to help people manage those There's some
- 2:00Speaker 4: precarious situations that come up. How to do this and
- 2:03Speaker 4: how to do that, and how to deal with this,
- 2:05Speaker 4: and how to deal with these things. So whether it's
- 2:07Speaker 4: recruiting to high school, to Little league to travel ball,
- 2:10Speaker 4: I'm all for any help and any resources we can
- 2:12Speaker 4: give people. The more the merrier because it is not
- 2:14Speaker 4: an easy world to try to try to navigate through.
- 2:18Speaker 1: Yeah, and the guests will be big. I mean we're
- 2:20Speaker 1: talking some of the big names in this sport. I'll
- 2:23Speaker 1: just give you a sneak peek. I'm not going to
- 2:26Speaker 1: tell you the names, but I promise you there will
- 2:27Speaker 1: be some good ones. I saw some of the lists
- 2:29Speaker 1: that they're going to announce I think over the next
- 2:31Speaker 1: several days, and I'm getting confirmation for pre people but
- 2:34Speaker 1: behind the scenes. And also say Gratz apparently is the
- 2:37Speaker 1: only one that has these OCD spotless dugouts. A lot
- 2:43Speaker 1: of people have dirty dugouts. That's the name of the
- 2:47Speaker 1: show from the dugout. Check it out wherever you get
- 2:50Speaker 1: your pods. YouTube channel is up just launched late last night,
- 2:55Speaker 1: So if you can give them a sub that would
- 2:56Speaker 1: be awesome. Rabbi's excited about it, so is Justin and
- 2:59Speaker 1: where We're excited to start off the show with Power
- 3:02Speaker 1: Rankings and it is presented by Game Changer. Okay, AJ,
- 3:12Speaker 1: You're going to go first. And just know that I've
- 3:16Speaker 1: been witnessing the braves atop many power rankings lists. The
- 3:20Speaker 1: Athletic has them number one. CBS has them number one.
- 3:23Speaker 1: Believe ESPN has them number one, but as the representative
- 3:27Speaker 1: of foul territory, which team is number one in the
- 3:30Speaker 1: power rankings?
- 3:31Speaker 3: Wait?
- 3:31Speaker 4: Name those people again? Name the people you said athletic
- 3:35Speaker 4: people who work there? We don't like Ken Katie. I
- 3:38Speaker 4: mean the list goes on Evandrelk. I mean who else
- 3:41Speaker 4: works there? I mean there's a whole long list of
- 3:42Speaker 4: those people we don't really like, so we can. Okay,
- 3:44Speaker 4: so they're wrong. What was the next one?
- 3:46Speaker 3: CBS?
- 3:46Speaker 1: CBS Jim Gowden.
- 3:49Speaker 4: He works for them, right, Yeah, he's wrong. He also
- 3:51Speaker 4: thinks McGonagall is going to be Rookie of the Year,
- 3:52Speaker 4: so he's wrong.
- 3:53Speaker 1: Next, Yes, Ben, Well, they think follow.
- 3:59Speaker 4: ESPN thinks the Houston Astros won the two thousand and
- 4:01Speaker 4: five World Series, and they also think Lebron James plays
- 4:04Speaker 4: in every sport, so they're out that.
- 4:07Speaker 5: Red Sox are the only thing that happens in baseball.
- 4:09Speaker 3: So also true.
- 4:11Speaker 1: I think America had the Braves number one too on
- 4:14Speaker 1: their power rankings. J Yeah, we do, like JJ, I can't.
- 4:18Speaker 1: I'll confirm that as you talk, So you lay out
- 4:21Speaker 1: what you think the top ten should look like right now,
- 4:23Speaker 1: and why.
- 4:25Speaker 3: Okay, I mean, y'all can laugh. I don't care.
- 4:27Speaker 4: I went Homer. I went so Homer on this, But
- 4:30Speaker 4: first of all, I went LA because LA is never
- 4:32Speaker 4: going to go anywhere until someone beats them.
- 4:34Speaker 3: They're number one. They're gonna be number one until they lose.
- 4:36Speaker 4: The Braves are number two, though they moved up because
- 4:39Speaker 4: they have the best record and they're playing really well.
- 4:41Speaker 4: Then the Yankees, who are also playing really well. Then
- 4:43Speaker 4: this hurts my heart. The Cubs four, because they are
- 4:46Speaker 4: unbeatable at home. I mean Michael confordo walk off. Homer
- 4:49Speaker 4: says that last night. Then the Rays because their record's
- 4:52Speaker 4: really good. And then it's then we're gonna get this.
- 4:53Speaker 4: Surprises Cardinals because they're playing really well, and I love
- 4:57Speaker 4: Allay Marma. We went to same high school, so he
- 4:59Speaker 4: deserves love for what they've done earlier this year. Then
- 5:02Speaker 4: we're going reds Padres. I need someone from the West.
- 5:05Speaker 4: So the Mariners, I think, are gonna win that division,
- 5:07Speaker 4: even though the A's are beating them. And then Lo
- 5:09Speaker 4: and behold, the mighty Chicago White Sox are just creep
- 5:13Speaker 4: grip grip grip, led by Davis Martin who went on
- 5:16Speaker 4: city cruises with me along with Sean Burke, and they
- 5:18Speaker 4: have pitched out standing the last couple of games.
- 5:20Speaker 3: So poopoo poop, Chicago White Sox number ten.
- 5:25Speaker 1: Very nice. So just to clarify for Braves fans that
- 5:29Speaker 1: might be angry, what do the Dodgers need to do
- 5:33Speaker 1: to not be number one? When you say they need
- 5:35Speaker 1: someone to beat them, you mean, no matter what, if
- 5:39Speaker 1: they're in a playoff position, you are not knocking them
- 5:42Speaker 1: off a power rankings list based off their past two
- 5:45Speaker 1: years until you see them lose in a postseason battle.
- 5:48Speaker 1: And of course if they somehow shock the world and
- 5:51Speaker 1: don't make the playoffs, I don't think anybody sees that,
- 5:53Speaker 1: so I'm not even gonna bring that up.
- 5:54Speaker 5: But they're gonna win the West.
- 5:55Speaker 4: I mean that's pretty much given. Look at the rest
- 5:57Speaker 4: of the teams in the West. I mean the Padres,
- 5:59Speaker 4: Yeah yeah, I mean yeah, yeah.
- 6:03Speaker 3: We'll see.
- 6:03Speaker 4: We'll see over one hundred and sixty two where they finish.
- 6:05Speaker 4: But the Dodgers are going to win the division. So
- 6:08Speaker 4: they're going to get in. And we saw all they
- 6:09Speaker 4: got to do is get in the last two years
- 6:11Speaker 4: and they win. So until someone beats them in the playoffs,
- 6:13Speaker 4: are going to be number one. If the Dodgers could
- 6:15Speaker 4: be one in one and sixty one and the rest
- 6:18Speaker 4: of the teams in that division could be oh in
- 6:20Speaker 4: one sixty two, and I still have the Dodgers one in.
- 6:22Speaker 3: My power rankings because they're in the playoffs and they
- 6:26Speaker 3: have a chance.
- 6:27Speaker 5: That's why, right.
- 6:29Speaker 1: I mean if I told you before the season started
- 6:33Speaker 1: that on May fifth, AJ would have the Rays, the Cardinals,
- 6:40Speaker 1: and the White Sox as three teams in his top ten,
- 6:44Speaker 1: what would you have said to future AJ.
- 6:47Speaker 4: I'm just going off what I was the assignment. I
- 6:49Speaker 4: was told to do the power rankings as of right
- 6:52Speaker 4: now in today's game, because I look at it like this.
- 6:55Speaker 4: The Cardinals in the in the central are playing really well.
- 6:58Speaker 4: And I like the Cardinals too. I'm a big Cardinals fan.
- 7:01Speaker 4: As you guys know, I played there. I'm going to
- 7:02Speaker 4: put my Cardinals hat on because people like when I
- 7:05Speaker 4: put my Cardinals hat on. So I'm gonna put my
- 7:07Speaker 4: little Cardinals homer hat on. Okay, I mean they are
- 7:11Speaker 4: just behind the Cubs two games back twenty one and fourteen.
- 7:15Speaker 4: Their run differential is in the positives. They beat the
- 7:18Speaker 4: Brewers last night, and they're playing really well. They're seven
- 7:21Speaker 4: and three, they're twenty one and fourteen, and I love
- 7:23Speaker 4: their manager John Jay and Daniel descalso not so much,
- 7:26Speaker 4: but their manager Ali. I love Pop Warner is a
- 7:28Speaker 4: great third base coach, and I think they, I don't know,
- 7:31Speaker 4: they have something going right now. And this again was
- 7:34Speaker 4: for right this second. It wasn't for three weeks from now,
- 7:37Speaker 4: a month from now. This is for May fifth, Cinco
- 7:39Speaker 4: de Mayo, May the fourth be with you yesterday, all
- 7:42Speaker 4: that stuff, but on Sinco to Mayo.
- 7:43Speaker 3: Right now.
- 7:43Speaker 4: I have the Cardinals. Yes, I have the Rays because
- 7:46Speaker 4: look at their record, what are they They're twenty two
- 7:49Speaker 4: and twelve, nine and one in their last ten. Hard
- 7:53Speaker 4: to argue against that. And they're keeping the Yankees on
- 7:55Speaker 4: their toes, and then the White Sox because who the heck,
- 7:57Speaker 4: someone's got to win the Central and right now, the
- 8:00Speaker 4: Tigers just lost Google Frowner hasn't been great, the rest
- 8:03Speaker 4: of their rotation hasn't been great, and the Guardians are
- 8:06Speaker 4: five hundred and the White Sox are coming, so that's
- 8:08Speaker 4: why they're ten.
- 8:09Speaker 3: And I'm a Homer, So there you go. Let's talk
- 8:14Speaker 3: love life ft family. I know it's an important part
- 8:16Speaker 3: of everyone's.
- 8:17Speaker 4: Life, but if you need help or if you don't,
- 8:19Speaker 4: gluech Youo Gold is changing the game, and it is

- 8:44Speaker 1: but Blue Choo Gold goes further by combining two ingredients
- 8:47Speaker 1: for blood flow with two more for mental arausal and connection.

- 9:04Speaker 1: Visit blue you dot com for more details and important
- 9:07Speaker 1: safety information, and we thank blue ch you for sponsoring
- 9:10Speaker 1: the podcast. Yep, you're a homer, but you haven't been
- 9:14Speaker 1: able to put them in a top ten of basically
- 9:16Speaker 1: anything in four seasons of this show. So I'll give
- 9:20Speaker 1: you the hall pass.
- 9:22Speaker 4: You know, listen, when you have when you have multiple
- 9:25Speaker 4: bubble heads, then yes they deserve it.
- 9:29Speaker 1: You're bringing it today, all right, Kratz, Where do you differ?
- 9:33Speaker 2: I mean, obviously, AJ doesn't even believe that the White
- 9:36Speaker 2: Socks are in the top ten, So that's an easy one.
- 9:38Speaker 4: I don't think the car who's better? Who's better than
- 9:42Speaker 4: the White Sox? Get my list, we'll get there. You
- 9:47Speaker 4: don't believe it yourself, so I put them there.
- 9:50Speaker 2: So when you let's let's just put my Let's just
- 9:53Speaker 2: put my my list up, and that way I can
- 9:55Speaker 2: explain what I'm thinking. I also agree, I think the
- 9:58Speaker 2: Dodgers are They had a little swoon here when they
- 10:02Speaker 2: go like six games, five games without hitting a homer,
- 10:05Speaker 2: and they're still one of the best teams record wise
- 10:08Speaker 2: in the league. So I have the brave second, the
- 10:12Speaker 2: Yankees are easily the best American League team. I struggled
- 10:16Speaker 2: putting American League teams in here. I really did, and
- 10:18Speaker 2: I made it.
- 10:19Speaker 5: I made a.
- 10:19Speaker 2: Concerted effort to say, Okay, there has to be three
- 10:24Speaker 2: American League teams in my top ten, and the reality
- 10:27Speaker 2: is to me after seven. I don't think any of
- 10:32Speaker 2: these teams deserve to be in the top ten. But
- 10:34Speaker 2: I had the Cubs, who I think I could have
- 10:36Speaker 2: put ahead of the Yankees. But I'm like, no, I'm
- 10:39Speaker 2: not gonna do that. I'm just gonna make sure I
- 10:42Speaker 2: have an American League team in the three spot.
- 10:45Speaker 5: I had the Padres.
- 10:46Speaker 2: I don't necessarily think the Padres have this like vaunted
- 10:52Speaker 2: unbelievable lineup, but I think they have like just a
- 10:57Speaker 2: knack for winning that I think, yes, they're starting rotation.
- 11:01Speaker 2: You would look at it and you go, I don't know,
- 11:03Speaker 2: is it gonna be enough to be a playoff contend
- 11:05Speaker 2: or to be a force in the playoffs.
- 11:08Speaker 5: I could care less what their rotation does.
- 11:10Speaker 2: It's the one team in the league where I'm like,
- 11:11Speaker 2: this bullpen is elite shutdown. And I think who had
- 11:17Speaker 2: a Mory Holne I think has a has a six
- 11:20Speaker 2: era in that bullpen. And I still believe in this bullpen,
- 11:24Speaker 2: like anytime you have Mason Miller, you have a strata,
- 11:26Speaker 2: you have Adam Who's back, Like those guys are legit.
- 11:30Speaker 2: I really love the Reds. I know they went on
- 11:32Speaker 2: a little meh streak and the team that beat them,
- 11:36Speaker 2: the Cardinals. I don't have them in the top ten.
- 11:38Speaker 2: I don't think they're a top ten team, and I
- 11:40Speaker 2: think a lot of it revolves around their pitching or
- 11:43Speaker 2: their lack of pitching that I think is, you know,
- 11:47Speaker 2: kind of ballooned up there. Their real record, their expected
- 11:52Speaker 2: record is probably closer to five hundred, and I think
- 11:55Speaker 2: they're playing like a five hundred team that's figured out
- 11:57Speaker 2: ways to win, which is awesome. The Rays pitching staff
- 12:01Speaker 2: is killing it the exact opposite, and I think the
- 12:05Speaker 2: Mariners are. Yes, the record isn't as good as the A's. Yes,
- 12:09Speaker 2: they're not winning the West right now, and cal Raley's
- 12:11Speaker 2: been out. I think they're slowly getting better. The last
- 12:14Speaker 2: two weeks. I feel like the Mariners have slowly been
- 12:17Speaker 2: getting better. I think the Pirates could have been ahead
- 12:19Speaker 2: of the Mariners because I think they have shown that
- 12:25Speaker 2: the moves that they made has increased their offense. I
- 12:28Speaker 2: think their offense is like fifth or sixth in the
- 12:31Speaker 2: league right now. Their defense hasn't gone down as much,
- 12:35Speaker 2: even though I think they have guys that are not
- 12:37Speaker 2: necessarily in the positions that would be the best. Before
- 12:42Speaker 2: they were built on defense, and they were kind of
- 12:44Speaker 2: they were a little above average on defense, and I
- 12:46Speaker 2: think they're continuing that, but they're doing it with better
- 12:50Speaker 2: offensive guys in each position. And obviously the pitching is ridiculous.
- 12:54Speaker 2: And the Brewers, I don't know if they're a top
- 12:56Speaker 2: ten team or not, but I can't not put them
- 12:58Speaker 2: in there. That's my homer pick.
- 13:01Speaker 1: Is it fair to say that when you had to
- 13:03Speaker 1: make a decision between some teams that were in similar
- 13:06Speaker 1: spots standings wise, you sided with the team that had
- 13:09Speaker 1: more pitching because you believe in them more long term.
- 13:12Speaker 1: The Cardinals are a good example of leaving them out,
- 13:15Speaker 1: and say the Mariners coming off a rough weekend. I
- 13:20Speaker 1: know they rebounded yesterday, but being placed in there based
- 13:24Speaker 1: on the pitching that they have, I mean, there's a
- 13:25Speaker 1: big difference between Seattle and Saint Louis with pitching.
- 13:29Speaker 2: Right, But I mean, I think it's the power rankings
- 13:32Speaker 2: for the first month here too. I don't think it's
- 13:35Speaker 2: necessarily what's going to happen. I think it's the power
- 13:38Speaker 2: rankings for the first month, and I think I believe
- 13:40Speaker 2: more in the Mariners than I do in the Cardinals.
- 13:43Speaker 2: And is it because of what I see out they're
- 13:46Speaker 2: starting rotations.
- 13:47Speaker 4: Yes, White Sox beat the Brewers too, I mean the
- 13:53Speaker 4: Padre's two out of three, so shouldn't they be ahead
- 13:56Speaker 4: of them in the power rankings?
- 13:57Speaker 2: I mean, the Marlins beat the Dodgers two out of three.
- 13:59Speaker 2: Social the Marlins to be ahead of them?
- 14:01Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 14:01Speaker 4: I'm just asking you said, I'm just asking you. I know,
- 14:05Speaker 4: maybe they should, but the Dodgers are the best team.
- 14:08Speaker 2: I think one thing that we can agree on. I
- 14:11Speaker 2: don't think after six or seven on this list, you
- 14:18Speaker 2: could probably find five teams. One of those teams wasn't
- 14:21Speaker 2: the White Sox that I found. But I'm not really disagreeing, Like,
- 14:25Speaker 2: go through the standings and look at the teams, and
- 14:29Speaker 2: who really are you going to choose? Who really are
- 14:32Speaker 2: you going to say? Man, it's solidified, has to be
- 14:35Speaker 2: a top ten team here. And I may have put
- 14:37Speaker 2: the Rays a little bit too low. I may have
- 14:39Speaker 2: put the Brewers shouldn't have been in the top ten.
- 14:42Speaker 2: The Cardinals could be in there. You know, are the Tigers?
- 14:46Speaker 2: Are the Tigers? Am I saying?
- 14:48Speaker 5: Oh? Schools out?
- 14:49Speaker 2: Now? I can't put the Tigers in there? You know,
- 14:50Speaker 2: I think the Tigers are still the best team in
- 14:53Speaker 2: the Central, but it's it's very it's very muddled there,
- 14:59Speaker 2: very muddled.
- 15:01Speaker 1: And I do think it's fair when you're discussing power
- 15:04Speaker 1: rankings still look at a team like Detroit and say, Okay,
- 15:06Speaker 1: they're in a similar spot as many other teams in
- 15:08Speaker 1: the American League Central and even the American League, and
- 15:11Speaker 1: they just lost by far their best picture. I think
- 15:14Speaker 1: it's fair to ding them for that when it happens
- 15:17Speaker 1: right before we're releasing our power rankings. Yes, we know
- 15:21Speaker 1: for those of you listening afterward or those of you
- 15:23Speaker 1: live in the chat, it is May fifth, but we
- 15:25Speaker 1: like to dance around a little bit and just get
- 15:26Speaker 1: a check on where we think everyone is. If you
- 15:29Speaker 1: have thoughts, let us know in the comments. Otherwise, a
- 15:32Speaker 1: thank you to Game Changer for presenting this segment in

- 15:53Speaker 1: found a new team, and it's the team that's number
- 15:55Speaker 1: ten on AJ's power rankings. White Sox picked them up
- 15:58Speaker 1: after the Yankees cut them AJ.
- 16:00Speaker 4: Yeah, just another another another weapon to add to the
- 16:04Speaker 4: arsenal for Will Venable in the tenth place White Sox.
- 16:07Speaker 3: They're coming, yeah place.
- 16:11Speaker 5: They're gonna smash lefties now, that is for sure.
- 16:15Speaker 3: That's just everybody right now.
- 16:19Speaker 1: But that's his job. He gets some platoon action in there,
- 16:22Speaker 1: get grit chick in the right matchups, and the dude
- 16:24Speaker 1: can still hit the ball hard.
- 16:26Speaker 4: Their outfield hasn't been good either, so they need something
- 16:28Speaker 4: out of the outfield.
- 16:31Speaker 1: Right, So this makes a lot more sense.
- 16:34Speaker 3: Really good, And.
- 16:35Speaker 1: They moved him up? Did they move him up to
- 16:37Speaker 1: lead off?
- 16:38Speaker 5: Yes?
- 16:39Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 16:40Speaker 5: When's Teal coming back?
- 16:42Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 16:42Speaker 4: Last I heard, he wasn't even running yet, so he
- 16:44Speaker 4: was supposed to go and rehab and he tried to
- 16:45Speaker 4: run and didn't go good.
- 16:47Speaker 3: So is it his hamstring or hamstring? But the Romo,
- 16:53Speaker 3: Drew Romo is doing all right.
- 16:54Speaker 2: So he's he's stepping up.
- 16:58Speaker 1: Are they making them sit on the traject machine for
- 17:01Speaker 1: four hours a day? That two homer game he did
- 17:03Speaker 1: like four hours on it? And then they were like, Okay,
- 17:06Speaker 1: now you have four hours of your life. You're losing
- 17:08Speaker 1: every single day. You're gonna have to do that every
- 17:10Speaker 1: day you can't hit.
- 17:12Speaker 5: I do it. I'd do it for two homers.
- 17:16Speaker 2: I would bang my head into the traject machine. They
- 17:20Speaker 2: meant two homers. There's nothing Aj maybe AG doesn't agree
- 17:24Speaker 2: with me. There's nothing I wouldn't do for two homers
- 17:28Speaker 2: on the baseball field.
- 17:29Speaker 1: Hey, didn't you just see him the other day?
- 17:31Speaker 5: AJ?
- 17:32Speaker 1: Jonah him who let go by the Braves because Sehn
- 17:35Speaker 1: Murphy's back, so the A's quickly scoop him up. I mean,
- 17:38Speaker 1: he's barely played so far this year because Jerke Baldman
- 17:41Speaker 1: was getting most of the pt. He's not gonna play
- 17:42Speaker 1: a ton with shy langer Lears in front of him.
- 17:45Speaker 1: But he's looked a little bit better in his plate
- 17:47Speaker 1: appearances that I've seen.
- 17:49Speaker 4: Jonah Hymen is actually doing all right for the Braves.
- 17:53Speaker 4: And this is a nice pickup for them. He he
- 17:56Speaker 4: he started with the A's. Let's not forget he started
- 17:58Speaker 4: with the Athletics his career before he went to Texas
- 18:00Speaker 4: winning a World Series.
- 18:02Speaker 3: I like this pickup for them.
- 18:03Speaker 4: He'll give lang Lears a chance to d h when
- 18:05Speaker 4: he when he needs a day off, and they have
- 18:07Speaker 4: a backup catcher that's trusted and can also do some damage,
- 18:10Speaker 4: especially right handed when they excuse me, when they face
- 18:14Speaker 4: a lefty.
- 18:15Speaker 3: So I love this pickup.
- 18:17Speaker 4: It's not going to cost him a ton, and for
- 18:18Speaker 4: the A's, any little piece helps to try to fend
- 18:21Speaker 4: off those pesky Mariners.
- 18:23Speaker 1: Yeah, there you go. Hey, the A's didn't crack the
- 18:26Speaker 1: top ten for either of you guys in your power rankings,
- 18:28Speaker 1: but I'm sure they were pretty close right on the
- 18:31Speaker 1: piff free there. Okay, Yeah, it's the same story cords there.
- 18:36Speaker 1: I'm not worried about the offense. I don't think anybody is.
- 18:38Speaker 1: Jaylanklears was on fire at the end of last year
- 18:41Speaker 1: and he's carried it right into this year. He's been
- 18:43Speaker 1: freaking great for them. They have a couple slow starters
- 18:45Speaker 1: that you're not worried about. It's just are they going
- 18:47Speaker 1: to have enough pitching in August in September to stay
- 18:51Speaker 1: in the race. Don't you feel like that's the only question.
- 18:53Speaker 3: Yeah, that's the question.
- 18:54Speaker 4: I mean, Sevarino needs to figure out how to pitch
- 18:56Speaker 4: in Sacramento. The rest of their starter, there's springs hasn't
- 19:01Speaker 4: been great for him, right, It's like, ah, they would
- 19:03Speaker 4: really count on him, So yeah, they need to figure
- 19:06Speaker 4: out the pitching. The bullpen's actually been all right. It's
- 19:08Speaker 4: been the starters that have kind of put him in
- 19:09Speaker 4: a hole.
- 19:14Speaker 6: You know, we don't always have to do things because
- 19:16Speaker 6: that's how it's always been.
- 19:17Speaker 4: Look, people consider me old school, and I thought I was,
- 19:20Speaker 4: but then we had the pitch clock and the abs
- 19:23Speaker 4: and ban on shifts and all these things that we've
- 19:25Speaker 4: had for a long time in baseball. And you know what,
- 19:27Speaker 4: much like Mint Mobile and the other mobile carriers, I'm

- 19:32Speaker 4: been made.

- 20:14Speaker 5: It's great.
- 20:15Speaker 7: I'm feeling really great. I feel like this is a
- 20:17Speaker 7: great time for me to get brought up. I told
- 20:20Speaker 7: I told Jared earlier. You know, I'm feeling sexy.
- 20:23Speaker 3: At the play right now, so I'm trying to.
- 20:25Speaker 7: Keep that moving. And you know, obviously this is it's
- 20:29Speaker 7: a different ballgame, but it's not. You know, it's the
- 20:30Speaker 7: same ballgame. I'm gonna keep trying to trust myself and
- 20:33Speaker 7: trust my teammates and.
- 20:35Speaker 5: Urm me a long way.
- 20:37Speaker 1: Bryce Eldridge bringing the viral quote, you want to hear
- 20:41Speaker 1: that aj from a guy coming up to try and
- 20:43Speaker 1: honestly rescue a team they they need pop.
- 20:48Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, he hopefully feels sexy right now. He
- 20:50Speaker 4: just got called up to the big league. He's been
- 20:52Speaker 4: doing all right down in Triple A, down down in
- 20:54Speaker 4: the minor league, so he got called up. Hopefully he's
- 20:57Speaker 4: feeling sexy and he can help this team because right
- 20:59Speaker 4: now they need all the help things, especially with Devers
- 21:01Speaker 4: struggling and adamis no power.
- 21:02Speaker 3: They have no power on this team.
- 21:06Speaker 2: He'll add some power, I mean, but how much power
- 21:08Speaker 2: can one guy add. It's kind of like over in Boston,
- 21:12Speaker 2: how much pressure or how much can you put on
- 21:15Speaker 2: Roman Anthony's shoulders? Young guys, that stuff gets put on
- 21:18Speaker 2: their shoulders. It's tough for Bryce Eldrids if he does well,
- 21:22Speaker 2: if he hits for the power that they hope he does.
- 21:25Speaker 2: It's because the Big Three are clicking and teams are like, well,
- 21:30Speaker 2: we're not really as worried about Bryce Eldred's strikeouts, and
- 21:34Speaker 2: then he's gonna clip a few of them. But if
- 21:36Speaker 2: he has to carry him and a Domis and Devers
- 21:40Speaker 2: and Chapman don't step up, it's gonna be a lot
- 21:44Speaker 2: of the same stuff.
- 21:44Speaker 5: It's just it'll be a cool story about Bryce Eldrid.
- 21:48Speaker 1: Yeah. Buster Posey called that out, saying, we need the
- 21:52Speaker 1: Big three to get us out of the funk. Can
- 21:54Speaker 1: produce the way we know they can produce. Dever's, Chapman
- 21:57Speaker 1: and Adamis. If Eldridge does hit from the ump and
- 22:00Speaker 1: brings a spark to them. AJ. This might lead to
- 22:03Speaker 1: a big sexy nickname. I know we had one in basketball,
- 22:07Speaker 1: but we didn't have one in baseball, right Colne, Oops,
- 22:14Speaker 1: I forgot about Big Juicer.
- 22:16Speaker 2: Should have been but no, I mean, Eldrid's still striking out.
- 22:20Speaker 2: He might feel sexy. But I've never seen anybody go
- 22:23Speaker 2: from the bushes as a power hitter and come to
- 22:26Speaker 2: the big leagues and strike out less. I just haven't
- 22:29Speaker 2: seen it. So the hitting coach in the big leagues,
- 22:33Speaker 2: it's got a lot of work, more of just an approach.
- 22:35Speaker 2: Because the power is there, how do you unlock it consistently?
- 22:40Speaker 5: Yeah, that's what he said.
- 22:41Speaker 6: That's what he said.
- 22:43Speaker 3: That's what he said.
- 22:45Speaker 6: That's what he said.
- 22:49Speaker 1: Hey, let's start with Roman Anthony. The Red Sox don't
- 22:52Speaker 1: need this. And the line I keep thinking about AJ
- 22:55Speaker 1: is how Ken said the Socks were expecting him to
- 22:58Speaker 1: be a big pop level contributor this year. That's a
- 23:03Speaker 1: tall task if you look back at Big Poppies career.
- 23:06Speaker 1: So for him, it's not been a great year. This
- 23:09Speaker 1: is his first full season, yes, and he's dealing with
- 23:13Speaker 1: a hand issue. This is what he said yesterday.
- 23:17Speaker 8: Yeah, I got X rays right after it happened, so
- 23:21Speaker 8: they looked negative. And I'm gonna go evaluate with a
- 23:26Speaker 8: hand specialist tomorrow and you know, leave it up to
- 23:29Speaker 8: them and probably get an MRI to see, you know,
- 23:31Speaker 8: what's actually going on.
- 23:33Speaker 1: But that's that's what I know.
- 23:36Speaker 5: What did you feel?
- 23:39Speaker 8: Just took a swing and it didn't feel good, and
- 23:41Speaker 8: as I came back in and went under to continue
- 23:44Speaker 8: to swing, it just was painful.
- 23:48Speaker 3: Okay, what did he say a word? Hurt?
- 23:52Speaker 5: I didn't see anything. I didn't see anything, because.
- 23:55Speaker 4: I mean, it could be risked, it could be hand made,
- 23:57Speaker 4: it could be thomb it could be there's a lot
- 23:59Speaker 4: of little bones and ligaments in here that it could be.
- 24:03Speaker 4: So it's going to see a hand specialist. I wonder
- 24:05Speaker 4: who's going to see. Probably Thomas Graham, who's the guy
- 24:08Speaker 4: who's like the best in the world at dealing with
- 24:10Speaker 4: hands and stuff.
- 24:11Speaker 3: So we'll find out.
- 24:13Speaker 4: But yeah, they can't afford this, and to put this
- 24:14Speaker 4: on Roman Anthony to be David Ortiz, that's not for you.
- 24:16Speaker 4: When David Ortiz got to Boston, he barely made the team,
- 24:20Speaker 4: and then he was coming from Minnesota where we had
- 24:23Speaker 4: defaied him for I don't know why, because he didn't
- 24:26Speaker 4: enough for you know. Anyways, there was a whole flu
- 24:28Speaker 4: a reason he didn't play defense this and that he
- 24:30Speaker 4: goes to Boston, doesn't start right away, and then after
- 24:34Speaker 4: a month or so, Jeremy Johnny wan't doing well, so like, hey,
- 24:36Speaker 4: let's try David and he took off from there. So
- 24:38Speaker 4: like to throw this on a twenty one year old
- 24:40Speaker 4: kid is tough. Twenty two year old kid, that's tough
- 24:43Speaker 4: to throw David Ortiz on top of them. You know,
- 24:46Speaker 4: Roman Anthony's going to be a really special player. But
- 24:49Speaker 4: you can't go into the season say, man, we need
- 24:51Speaker 4: Roman Anthony, Marcello Meyer, you know, Rafaela, some of these
- 24:55Speaker 4: younger guys to carry this team.
- 24:56Speaker 3: You need guys like.
- 24:57Speaker 4: Wilsoner Dress who's doing nice job, Trevor Story, you know,
- 25:01Speaker 4: you need some of those guys Jaron Duran to step
- 25:03Speaker 4: up and really take the lead. And so far that's
- 25:06Speaker 4: the one thing the Red Sox haven't had. They haven't
- 25:08Speaker 4: had a lot of offense. And also now they're pitching's banged up.
- 25:10Speaker 4: So this is just a team that seems like everything
- 25:12Speaker 4: that could go wrong is going wrong. And if Roman
- 25:14Speaker 4: Anthony's out for a while, it can only get worse.
- 25:17Speaker 4: Usually you can't do anything about it. But your hands
- 25:20Speaker 4: and feet are so so important when you're playing a
- 25:24Speaker 4: game one hundred and sixty two times in one hundred
- 25:27Speaker 4: and eighty four days, whatever the big league season is like.
- 25:31Speaker 4: It sounds stupid, but if you got something wrong with
- 25:34Speaker 4: your toes, if you've got turf toe, if you have
- 25:37Speaker 4: if you have something you know that you're dealing with,
- 25:39Speaker 4: you're always on your feet. If you have something you're
- 25:41Speaker 4: dealing with in your hand, you're always swinging. You're always
- 25:44Speaker 4: That's why you know you look back at aj stats
- 25:48Speaker 4: about how many games he played and how he hit,
- 25:51Speaker 4: like you're always getting banged up in your hands and
- 25:53Speaker 4: you're having to play through things you're hitting just as
- 25:57Speaker 4: much as you're standing like you're swinging you got the
- 26:00Speaker 4: bat in your hand. So, yes, the Red Sox are
- 26:04Speaker 4: in shambles right now. Yes, it could have been avoided
- 26:07Speaker 4: by making a couple different offensive upgrades in the offseason
- 26:11Speaker 4: that they didn't want to do. But yes, they need
- 26:14Speaker 4: to take time with this. They cannot let him rush
- 26:17Speaker 4: back and sometimes hands because of the fact that circulation
- 26:21Speaker 4: they don't heal as quick, it's tough, and hopefully he
- 26:24Speaker 4: doesn't come back. It's one of those things you go
- 26:27Speaker 4: to an MRI and you go, well, I hope you
- 26:28Speaker 4: don't find anything in there. But if you don't find anything,
- 26:32Speaker 4: he's also saying he's experiencing more pain than he's ever
- 26:35Speaker 4: experienced in his hands.
- 26:36Speaker 5: So you want to find it.
- 26:38Speaker 2: You want to nip it in the butt, and you
- 26:39Speaker 2: want to take the time to say it's one hundred percent.
- 26:43Speaker 1: Now, yeah, this is one of the bright players in
- 26:49Speaker 1: our sport who was fantastic and about a half season
- 26:52Speaker 1: of games last year. But see what happens here with
- 26:56Speaker 1: the news on the hand, and I want to get
- 26:59Speaker 1: to Trek's school Part two. So AJ asked this question
- 27:02Speaker 1: to Ken Rosenthal and it was brought up on our
- 27:05Speaker 1: Injury Territory show. So we had Will Carroll on our show.
- 27:09Speaker 1: But then on his separate show Injury Territory that just
- 27:12Speaker 1: talks about yet you guessed it injuries. The thought was
- 27:15Speaker 1: brought up that maybe school doesn't return at all. Let's
- 27:19Speaker 1: listen to this.
- 27:20Speaker 9: Trek scooble heading for surgery. We saw on his last
- 27:23Speaker 9: time out he was shaking his elbow. I said, hey,
- 27:27Speaker 9: let's keep an eye on this, and darn it if
- 27:29Speaker 9: it's not loose bodies. The Tigers are calling this loose bodies.
- 27:34Speaker 9: We used to call these bone chips. But it's definitely
- 27:38Speaker 9: not good news. It goes back to Edwin Diaz, it
- 27:42Speaker 9: goes back to Carlos Dan. We're seeing more and more
- 27:47Speaker 9: of these. Is that because we're catching these earlier that
- 27:50Speaker 9: we have better imaging. I'm not sure, but losing Schooble
- 27:55Speaker 9: for two months at the low end certainly doesn't help
- 27:59Speaker 9: the Tigers. It probably doesn't help Scott Boris as he's
- 28:03Speaker 9: put together his book to get a big, big check.
- 28:06Speaker 9: Long term, I don't think this really affects schoobl But
- 28:09Speaker 9: the short term, this is a gut punch.
- 28:13Speaker 10: It makes you wonder if he's going to be pitching
- 28:15Speaker 10: in a Tiger's uniform ever again. You know, that was
- 28:17Speaker 10: my first reaction when reading the breaking story was there
- 28:21Speaker 10: are a lot of reasons, both medically and logistically, why
- 28:26Speaker 10: it might make sense for him not to pitch again
- 28:30Speaker 10: the rest of the season, and that's devastating for baseball,
- 28:34Speaker 10: devastating for the Tigers.
- 28:37Speaker 5: May not be devastating if you know.
- 28:39Speaker 10: He plays his cards right for Schooble just because you know,
- 28:42Speaker 10: you look at his track record, it's phenomenal. But still,
- 28:46Speaker 10: you know what this means long term, there are still
- 28:48Speaker 10: a ton of questions where everything around Schooble very much
- 28:53Speaker 10: dealing with some real fallout.
- 28:57Speaker 1: I have to imagine that if tire schools and good,
- 29:00Speaker 1: he's gonna be back to pitch late in the year
- 29:04Speaker 1: and it's twofold one. He wants to play and win
- 29:09Speaker 1: and do some playoff ball with the Tigers. AJF he's doing,
- 29:13Speaker 1: he's feeling good, and also he's going to be a
- 29:14Speaker 1: free agent. You want to see it come out of
- 29:16Speaker 1: the hands like it usually does after the surgery.
- 29:21Speaker 4: Yeah, of course, I mean he wants plus, he wants
- 29:23Speaker 4: to be able to pitch for his team. I mean
- 29:25Speaker 4: that's the biggest thing. I mean, free agency is there.
- 29:27Speaker 4: But he also has been a Tiger's whole career. They've
- 29:29Speaker 4: been to the postseason, they've made some runs, have many
- 29:31Speaker 4: able to get over that hump. So I think he'll
- 29:34Speaker 4: I think he's going to do everything in his power
- 29:35Speaker 4: to be back plus. And then let's talk about this
- 29:37Speaker 4: on a personal level. As a free agent, you want
- 29:39Speaker 4: to go out and show teams you're healthy, because this
- 29:41Speaker 4: is his third elbow malfunction whatever you want to call it,
- 29:45Speaker 4: over his career, So teams are going to want to say, hey, man,
- 29:47Speaker 4: we don't want to be bidding on damage goods here.
- 29:49Speaker 3: If you can't prove you're healthy, that's.
- 29:51Speaker 5: A big deal.
- 29:51Speaker 4: It means a lot, and that's why he sometimes rush.
- 29:53Speaker 4: I hope he doesn't rush back, but I hope he
- 29:55Speaker 4: comes back when he's healthy and can pitch, because the
- 29:57Speaker 4: game is better when Terrek schools on the mound every
- 29:59Speaker 4: five days.
- 30:00Speaker 2: Had I had bone chips removed from my or a
- 30:03Speaker 2: loose body removed from my elbow in the offseason one time.
- 30:08Speaker 2: I am not Trek's koble, but I had to throw
- 30:11Speaker 2: at the highest possible level that I had to throw
- 30:14Speaker 2: at when I got into spring training a month and
- 30:17Speaker 2: a half later. So you know, I think he knows
- 30:21Speaker 2: his body, and I know that he will. I would
- 30:25Speaker 2: say he would push it. The fact that he's not
- 30:27Speaker 2: going to pitch for the Tigers, I would be surprised
- 30:29Speaker 2: unless they go in there and they find something that says, ooh,
- 30:33Speaker 2: you know this is causing or this was caused by
- 30:37Speaker 2: this because bone chips just don't happen. They just don't.
- 30:41Speaker 2: They don't appear out thin air. They appear, like he
- 30:44Speaker 2: told us yesterday, because one there's something else is going wrong,
- 30:48Speaker 2: or it chipped off and broke off from another place.
- 30:51Speaker 5: So what was that? Why did that happen?
- 30:54Speaker 2: The fact that he the fact that he did this
- 30:57Speaker 2: in the middle of the game, he's like, oh, whoa
- 30:59Speaker 2: what is that? Gave himself a massage and then he
- 31:01Speaker 2: struck out. The side is like Terry Scoble can pitch
- 31:05Speaker 2: at a reduced level and still be pretty.
- 31:08Speaker 1: Good, no doubt, Yes, all of that. So we'll see.
- 31:13Speaker 1: We'll look at what the timetable is for him. If
- 31:15Speaker 1: it ends up being three months, that's taking us into August.
- 31:18Speaker 1: But even if that's the case, I mean you're still
- 31:20Speaker 1: in August. You still have a month and change in
- 31:24Speaker 1: the regular season, plus hopefully for his cause. Yeah, other
- 31:30Speaker 1: people definitely need to step up, and then they're down
- 31:32Speaker 1: some other starters like we've talked about. So we'll see.
- 31:34Speaker 1: It's not gonna be easy. They're not a lock for
- 31:36Speaker 1: the playoffs. The American League is not great. That's the helper,
- 31:41Speaker 1: and the American League Central is not great. Either. That's
- 31:43Speaker 1: also a help to keep the Tigers involved in the mix.
- 31:46Speaker 1: They my guess would be only one team makes it
- 31:48Speaker 1: from that division. I know it's way too early to
- 31:50Speaker 1: think about that, but that's the helping point for the
- 31:52Speaker 1: Tigers to get through this without their their big dog. Hey,
- 31:57Speaker 1: back in the break here. The Angels have the worst
- 32:00Speaker 1: record in the major leagues. That was fast. They've dropped
- 32:02Speaker 1: nine of ten and against Casey, the White Sox and
- 32:06Speaker 1: the Mets.
- 32:10Speaker 3: Yeah, is this surprising?
- 32:13Speaker 1: Zero zero surprise? Bill shaking with that? Sweet?
- 32:20Speaker 4: I mean they're not playing good. They don't pitch, they're
- 32:24Speaker 4: not hitting that greade either. I mean, Trout's doing all right,
- 32:26Speaker 4: but the rest of the I mean it's Netto and
- 32:29Speaker 4: Trout pretty much for the for the Angels to score
- 32:32Speaker 4: in the offense. And the pitching has not been good.
- 32:35Speaker 4: They lost Cacuchi. Soriano cannot pitch against the White Sox.
- 32:39Speaker 4: We have discovered that. And if he doesn't pitch well,
- 32:42Speaker 4: then it really puts him in a bad spot. So
- 32:44Speaker 4: this isn't a surprise. We knew this coming in. They
- 32:46Speaker 4: weren't going to be a good team. They keep saying this,
- 32:48Speaker 4: they keep pushing this. You know, we love perryman Agi,
- 32:51Speaker 4: and he keeps saying, oh, there are best baseballs right
- 32:53Speaker 4: around the corner, when it's been a long time.
- 32:57Speaker 1: It really has. They have not been able to figure
- 33:00Speaker 1: out putting the pitching together for a long time, but
- 33:03Speaker 1: even more recently with some of the moves that they
- 33:05Speaker 1: have made, they have turned into disasters. Robert Stevenson basically
- 33:10Speaker 1: never pitched for them. They invested real money in him
- 33:14Speaker 1: that never turned into a thing.
- 33:17Speaker 4: Every time he's gotten hurt, he pitched. Had one basically
- 33:20Speaker 4: one good year.
- 33:22Speaker 1: Yeah, it was like two good months and that was
- 33:24Speaker 1: one of those where I remember Krats we were pretty confused,
- 33:27Speaker 1: and then he was out pretty early on in the season.
- 33:30Speaker 1: You're just like, really, this is finally where they're going
- 33:32Speaker 1: to spend all of their money on a guy who's
- 33:34Speaker 1: had all kinds of injury risk. They did, and here
- 33:39Speaker 1: they are. The difference for me aj between this team
- 33:41Speaker 1: and how we mentioned the Oriols the other day, both
- 33:44Speaker 1: teams certainly not pitching or hitting well. I just don't
- 33:47Speaker 1: see it for the Angels like I don't see it
- 33:50Speaker 1: on paper with the top end of it, and I
- 33:52Speaker 1: also don't see it with building a team that's able
- 33:55Speaker 1: to last throughout a whole season. Sometimes they'll give you
- 33:57Speaker 1: a flash for a couple months. We didn't even make
- 33:59Speaker 1: it to that point. It's just not being built correctly
- 34:02Speaker 1: consistently a problem.
- 34:04Speaker 4: You're right, and they haven't been good for one you
- 34:06Speaker 4: might trot has him into the postseason since twenty fourteen
- 34:09Speaker 4: or whatever it is. I mean, come on, and then
- 34:12Speaker 4: now you're starting to see where people want him to
- 34:13Speaker 4: get traded. Would they trade him? Would he accept the trade?
- 34:16Speaker 4: That's the real question is is it time? And we've
- 34:18Speaker 4: talked about this before.
- 34:20Speaker 5: You would think they have.
- 34:21Speaker 2: You'd think they have the pieces, like Netto Shanowel. Trout's
- 34:27Speaker 2: obviously playing well. Christian Moore is supposed to be legit.
- 34:30Speaker 2: Ben Joyce was supposed to be legit. Joe Adell was
- 34:32Speaker 2: supposed to be, by these exact words, a future Hall
- 34:36Speaker 2: of Famer by Scouts in their organization. Like you would say,
- 34:40Speaker 2: there's pieces, so then you have to build around it,
- 34:43Speaker 2: and they don't have it.
- 34:58Speaker 1: All right, Let's slap a couple other things we didn't
- 35:00Speaker 1: get to. First off, injuries, Aja angel Zerp has got
- 35:03Speaker 1: a talented arm. I watched his first four or five
- 35:06Speaker 1: starts with the Brewers were fantastic out of the bullpen
- 35:08Speaker 1: for them. He's snuck I think one or two saves
- 35:10Speaker 1: in there when McGill was struggling. Then he fell apart
- 35:13Speaker 1: and it turns out his elbow was falling apart. So
- 35:17Speaker 1: he's got the UCL reconstruction surgery. That's our Kurt Hoague,
- 35:20Speaker 1: who is the host of Brewer Territory, doctor Keith Meister,
- 35:25Speaker 1: getting it done next week with him. So Zurpa will
- 35:27Speaker 1: be out until spring or summer of twenty twenty seven.
- 35:31Speaker 1: Remember he was involved in that trade that included Isaac
- 35:34Speaker 1: Collins and Nickmuer's moving over to the Royals. So there's
- 35:38Speaker 1: low loss for the Brewers. I mean, it sucks, but
- 35:41Speaker 1: they're so good at turning so many pitchers into gold.
- 35:44Speaker 1: I gotta give them credit. I mean, well they skip
- 35:46Speaker 1: much of a beat, I don't think so. And also,
- 35:48Speaker 1: I mean he was hurting them as Era ended up
- 35:50Speaker 1: being I think in this seven range by the time
- 35:54Speaker 1: he was hurt getting evaluated. I know, So he's out
- 35:58Speaker 1: one more injury. Stephen Mattz today placed on the injured
- 36:02Speaker 1: list left elbow inflammation. That's a bummer for him, I know,
- 36:05Speaker 1: he's battled injuries throughout his career. He was off to
- 36:08Speaker 1: a pretty nice start too. Seven starts, three eight six
- 36:11Speaker 1: cra and you know, he did a lot of bullpen
- 36:14Speaker 1: time last year with Boston when he was traded over there,
- 36:19Speaker 1: and even with Saint Louis. I mean, he was mostly
- 36:21Speaker 1: a reliever last year and he was really good. Rays
- 36:22Speaker 1: We're like cool, we like what we're looking at. Do
- 36:25Speaker 1: you want to be a starter? And that's part of
- 36:26Speaker 1: the pitch for the Rays. They're able to do that
- 36:28Speaker 1: with free agents to entice them over. Hey, is your
- 36:30Speaker 1: deal close enough to this one. Let's get you a
- 36:32Speaker 1: year as a starter and re establish your value on
- 36:35Speaker 1: the market. But he's going to miss a little bit
- 36:37Speaker 1: of time too.
- 36:38Speaker 4: Yeah, hopefully he gets back healthy because he was off
- 36:41Speaker 4: to a nice star for them.
