- 0:36SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 0:37SPEAKER_10: Guys like a machine.
- 0:40SPEAKER_10: Um.
- 0:42SPEAKER_10: So we have a lot to talk about today.
- 0:46SPEAKER_10: First and foremost, um Super Bowl.
- 0:49SPEAKER_10: I thought it was a great game.
- 0:51SPEAKER_07: Did you?
- 0:51SPEAKER_07: I did.
- 0:52SPEAKER_07: Seriously?
- 0:53SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 0:54SPEAKER_11: It was all de I love defense.
- 0:55SPEAKER_11: Well, I tell you.
- 0:56SPEAKER_11: So for me, it was perfect.
- 0:58SPEAKER_11: I'm I'm telling you, you know, as much as I wanted the Patriots to win, the the Seahawks deserve that win.
- 1:04SPEAKER_07: Oh.
- 1:04SPEAKER_07: The Seattle Seattle's defense won it for him.
- 1:07SPEAKER_11: Yeah, and I knew that was gonna happen.
- 1:09SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 1:09SPEAKER_11: Um Bob messaged me before.
- 1:11SPEAKER_11: Actually, you probably were in that thread too.
- 1:13SPEAKER_11: Probably.
- 1:13SPEAKER_11: And I said it's gonna be an uphill climb.
- 1:15SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 1:15SPEAKER_11: You know, for the Patriots.
- 1:16SPEAKER_11: And it was.
- 1:17SPEAKER_11: And it was.
- 1:17SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 1:18SPEAKER_11: And uh I stopped uh I'm not gonna say I stopped watching.
- 1:21SPEAKER_11: I didn't stop watching.
- 1:23SPEAKER_11: Um but uh in the second half I was casually watching.
- 1:28SPEAKER_07: You know, I just kind of Well, I was I I knew it was over when that uh that forced fumble.
- 1:34SPEAKER_11: Yes, I knew that too.
- 1:35SPEAKER_07: I was like, yeah, that's it.
- 1:36SPEAKER_11: Yeah, it's over.
- 1:37SPEAKER_11: Done.
- 1:37SPEAKER_07: I didn't But they did but to give the the Pats credit, I mean they didn't stop.
- 1:42SPEAKER_07: No, no.
- 1:43SPEAKER_07: I mean, May broke a Super Bowl record.
- 1:46SPEAKER_07: Do you realize that?
- 1:46SPEAKER_11: I didn't realize that.
- 1:47SPEAKER_07: He had 235 yards passing in the fourth quarter.
- 1:50SPEAKER_07: That's never that's a super bowl record.
- 1:53SPEAKER_07: Wow.
- 1:53SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 1:54SPEAKER_11: No, I never knew that.
- 1:55SPEAKER_07: So you know, so they didn't stop.
- 1:56SPEAKER_07: I mean, they didn't give up.
- 1:57SPEAKER_07: It wasn't like, oh well, we're we're done.
- 2:00SPEAKER_07: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 2:01SPEAKER_07: They they they can't I mean, it was it was like the play after that.
- 2:04SPEAKER_07: They came up and Holland scored.
- 2:06SPEAKER_07: Yep.
- 2:06SPEAKER_07: Yeah, and they they just you know.
- 2:08SPEAKER_11: Yeah, no, I I but they just got outplayed.
- 2:11SPEAKER_07: They did.
- 2:11SPEAKER_07: That that defense was awesome.
- 2:13SPEAKER_07: Yep.
- 2:13SPEAKER_07: And well the offense too.
- 2:15SPEAKER_07: And the Pat's defense was awesome too.
- 2:16SPEAKER_07: Yep.
- 2:17SPEAKER_07: It was just a matter of who's gonna make the first mistake, and once you capitalize it, sometimes it's that's all it takes.
- 2:22SPEAKER_07: Yep.
- 2:23SPEAKER_11: You know, it opens the floodgates and um the big question that everybody's asking, did you watch the half-time show?
- 2:31SPEAKER_11: No.
- 2:31SPEAKER_11: I started it because my my daughter wanted to see it.
- 2:34SPEAKER_11: She's like, you know, bad bunny, you know, and this and that.
- 2:37SPEAKER_11: And I said, She knows who bad bunny is?
- 2:39SPEAKER_11: She doesn't, but everybody was talking about it.
- 2:41SPEAKER_10: That's probably why.
- 2:42SPEAKER_11: And so I said, I'll tell you what, I said, I'm gonna start it.
- 2:45SPEAKER_11: You know, we'll we'll start watching it.
- 2:47SPEAKER_11: And if it's pointless, then I'm gonna turn it or I'm gonna turn it off.
- 2:52SPEAKER_11: And she said, Okay.
- 2:54SPEAKER_11: So we started watching it.
- 2:56SPEAKER_11: So you didn't watch any of it?
- 2:57SPEAKER_11: She didn't watch any of it.
- 2:58SPEAKER_11: No, no, you didn't watch any of it?
- 2:59SPEAKER_11: No.
- 3:00SPEAKER_11: Okay.
- 3:00SPEAKER_07: So all I did was the only thing I saw was that apparently he had a football, he was carrying around a football.
- 3:06SPEAKER_07: Okay.
- 3:06SPEAKER_07: They they estimated he went 124 yards, which was more than a patriot.
- 3:12SPEAKER_11: I I read that and I laughed pretty hard.
- 3:14SPEAKER_11: I thought that was pretty funny.
- 3:16SPEAKER_11: Um, so uh my I watched about, I don't know, two minutes of it.
- 3:22SPEAKER_11: Um and this the halftime show, to me, has just gotten so lame.
- 3:31SPEAKER_11: Not just because not just Bad Bunny.
- 3:34SPEAKER_11: Last year with Kendrick Lamar.
- 3:35SPEAKER_07: Yeah, that was lame.
- 3:36SPEAKER_07: It was lame.
- 3:36SPEAKER_07: It was terrible.
- 3:37SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 3:37SPEAKER_11: Um you know, there's no you know, when you're when you when you're when your performer is coming at the camera and singing to the camera and and and you know, this and that.
- 3:49SPEAKER_11: I saw footage actually of the crowd during the Bad Bunny.
- 3:53SPEAKER_11: Yeah, nobody was like Nobody was like Nobody was into it.
- 3:56SPEAKER_11: No, they weren't because they don't know his music.
- 3:58SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 3:59SPEAKER_11: And they don't know what he was saying.
- 4:01SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 4:01SPEAKER_11: And it is it's really not about the fact that he's singing in Spanish or from Puerto Rico.
- 4:10SPEAKER_11: It's not a race thing for me anyway.
- 4:11SPEAKER_07: Well, Ricky Martin did it all the time.
- 4:13SPEAKER_07: Right.
- 4:13SPEAKER_07: Exactly.
- 4:14SPEAKER_07: Ricky Martin was there.
- 4:15SPEAKER_07: Uh Minuto.
- 4:16SPEAKER_11: Remember Minuto?
- 4:17SPEAKER_11: Yes.
- 4:18SPEAKER_11: They sang in Spanish.
- 4:19SPEAKER_11: Yes.
- 4:19SPEAKER_11: Nobody cared.
- 4:20SPEAKER_11: Nobody cared.
- 4:21SPEAKER_11: Um I just didn't like it's not my vibe.
- 4:24SPEAKER_11: The music was not my vibe.
- 4:26SPEAKER_11: So anyway, I turned it off after a couple minutes, and uh, we no, we did not turn it to the turning point.
- 4:31SPEAKER_11: I didn't even know where you could find that.
- 4:33SPEAKER_11: Yeah, I don't know where you'd find it.
- 4:34SPEAKER_11: I think you have to pay for that or something.
- 4:35SPEAKER_11: Oh, that's stupid.
- 4:36SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 4:36SPEAKER_07: Well, I just I'm I I'm so over halftime shows anyway.
- 4:40SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 4:41SPEAKER_07: Because I'm there to watch football.
- 4:43SPEAKER_07: I don't give a crap about the felt the halftime shows.
- 4:45SPEAKER_11: That's the thing.
- 4:46SPEAKER_11: That's the thing.
- 4:47SPEAKER_11: I you know, all these commentators, well, commentators, all these uh armchair quarterbacks that are all have their own podcasts and and you know, the personalities, they're talking about how this is America's game and they should have a halftime show that represents America and should be in English and the Technically it's not America's game.
- 5:08SPEAKER_07: America's game is baseball.
- 5:09SPEAKER_07: Listen, listen.
- 5:10SPEAKER_11: So it's it's it's a football game.
- 5:14SPEAKER_11: Okay?
- 5:14SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 5:15SPEAKER_11: I don't pay attention to the I mean now arguably I would I would love to have you know a classic rock artist because that's the one.
- 5:23SPEAKER_07: Well, it was in San Francisco, so they should have either had Journey or Metallica.
- 5:27SPEAKER_11: Journey, Metallica, Santana.
- 5:29SPEAKER_11: Oh yeah, Santana's something.
- 5:31SPEAKER_11: Speaking of Spanish, yeah, right?
- 5:32SPEAKER_11: Santana, uh wasn't Huey Lewis.
- 5:35SPEAKER_11: Of course, Huey Lewis is from Huey Lewis can't really sing.
- 5:37SPEAKER_11: He can't really sing anymore, but you know, I mean there was somebody from San Francisco.
- 5:41SPEAKER_07: There's so many great bands that so many things they could have done.
- 5:44SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 5:44SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 5:45SPEAKER_11: Uh but you know, that's neither here nor there.
- 5:47SPEAKER_07: Again, we're Well, Journey played at the NFC Championship game.
- 5:50SPEAKER_11: That's true.
- 5:51SPEAKER_11: Well of course they mimed the whole thing.
- 5:53SPEAKER_11: They mimed the whole thing, and it was partly Journey.
- 5:56SPEAKER_07: Yeah, I was I watched uh Wings of Pegasus, he he did the thing on it.
- 6:01SPEAKER_07: I was like, wow.
- 6:02SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 6:02SPEAKER_07: He was pointing out everything.
- 6:03SPEAKER_07: I was like, wow.
- 6:04SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 6:05SPEAKER_11: It was Neil Sean was the only uh member of Journey.
- 6:08SPEAKER_07: Yeah, because it was Neil and Dean was on drums.
- 6:11SPEAKER_11: Yeah, but he sang too.
- 6:12SPEAKER_07: And he sang.
- 6:12SPEAKER_07: Yeah, yeah.
- 6:13SPEAKER_07: And they have There was there was a couple times there were cymbal crashes and he wasn't hitting the cymbals.
- 6:18SPEAKER_07: I was like, that's too funny.
- 6:20SPEAKER_11: Yeah, but you know what?
- 6:21SPEAKER_11: They that's that's par for the chorus for.
- 6:22SPEAKER_11: Oh yeah, yeah.
- 6:23SPEAKER_11: I I expect it now.
- 6:24SPEAKER_11: Charlie Pooth did the uh national anthem.
- 6:26SPEAKER_11: He he lip synced.
- 6:27SPEAKER_11: Charlie Pooth is great.
- 6:29SPEAKER_11: He's awesome.
- 6:30SPEAKER_11: He's a great singer.
- 6:31SPEAKER_11: He's an awesome singer, he's a great songwriter, and he's got perfect pitch.
- 6:34SPEAKER_11: He's amazing to watch.
- 6:35SPEAKER_07: He's he's fantastic.
- 6:36SPEAKER_11: But he lip synced.
- 6:37SPEAKER_11: He lip synced the national anthem.
- 6:39SPEAKER_07: Well, I mean, with the national anthem, I kind of think you want to, because if you screw that up, you're never gonna live it down.
- 6:44SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 6:45SPEAKER_11: So Yeah, but I think So I I get that.
- 6:48SPEAKER_11: Uh now I don't know if if uh Brandy Carlisle lip synced America the Beautiful or not.
- 6:55SPEAKER_11: That I don't care about.
- 6:55SPEAKER_11: I would imagine she did because just in that venue, you kind of you kind of have to.
- 7:00SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 7:01SPEAKER_11: I don't know.
- 7:02SPEAKER_11: But again, we're there to watch football.
- 7:04SPEAKER_07: Yeah, I'd rather we watch it.
- 7:05SPEAKER_07: I mean, I I don't know.
- 7:07SPEAKER_07: It's but I I thought it was overall, I thought it was a great game.
- 7:10SPEAKER_07: Of course, I love defense, so for me, I I mean, uh there were so many memes that be like, oh, it's boring and bull.
- 7:16SPEAKER_07: I thought it was great.
- 7:18SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 7:18SPEAKER_07: I thought it was great.
- 7:20SPEAKER_07: I mean, it was just defense, baby, and I love defense.
- 7:23SPEAKER_11: Any uh commercials stand out to you?
- 7:24SPEAKER_07: Nope.
- 7:25SPEAKER_07: No?
- 7:25SPEAKER_07: No, they all suck.
- 7:27SPEAKER_07: I thought so too.
- 7:28SPEAKER_07: I thought so too.
- 7:30SPEAKER_07: Even the even the that one with Ben Afflack doing like the the the Goodwill hunting thing.
- 7:36SPEAKER_07: That was a terrible ad, but I thought it was awful.
- 7:38SPEAKER_07: But I thought it was the best one.
- 7:39SPEAKER_07: It would probably it was bad, but it was yeah, you know, it was the funniest one, right?
- 7:43SPEAKER_11: Actually, the best one I thought was the the farmer one with the chips.
- 7:48SPEAKER_11: Uh was it Lay's?
- 7:51SPEAKER_07: Oh, the the the the emotional one.
- 7:53SPEAKER_11: Yeah, I th that was probably the best ad of the night, as far as I'm concerned.
- 7:56SPEAKER_11: That and the Budweiser one.
- 7:58SPEAKER_11: Which one was the eagle?
- 8:00SPEAKER_11: The eagle and the horse.
- 8:00SPEAKER_11: Yeah, that was good.
- 8:01SPEAKER_11: That was pretty good.
- 8:02SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 8:02SPEAKER_11: But uh the first one I saw, actually, it was because my boys were over at the Blanchard's uh watching with Jude and all those guys.
- 8:10SPEAKER_11: And because my wife and I were sick, we stayed home and Myra was with us, so it was just the three of us watching.
- 8:18SPEAKER_11: And the first commercial that we saw was really kind of disgusting.
- 8:24SPEAKER_11: It was supposed to be funny, but it was kind of disgusting.
- 8:28SPEAKER_11: Where they shaved like they shaved the face.
- 8:30SPEAKER_11: Did you see this?
- 8:32SPEAKER_11: It was I can't remember even remember what it was.
- 8:34SPEAKER_11: Oh, it was for was it for manscaping?
- 8:37SPEAKER_11: Um so they they shaved uh and and all of the hair became like alive and was singing so it was like this pile of hair that was had a face and was singing you know, these songs.
- 8:51SPEAKER_11: And then like somebody would it's it's about manscaping.
- 8:54SPEAKER_11: I can't remember what the what the product was.
- 8:56SPEAKER_11: But we looked at that and then we looked at each other like, what?
- 9:00SPEAKER_07: That's it was awful.
- 9:02SPEAKER_07: It was awful.
- 9:03SPEAKER_07: What a waste of money.
- 9:04SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 9:04SPEAKER_11: Um so anyway, it you know, am I upset that the Patriots lost?
- 9:11SPEAKER_11: No.
- 9:12SPEAKER_07: I mean, I am a little bit, because it would have been cool to be the first team to win seven Super Bowls.
- 9:16SPEAKER_07: It's true.
- 9:16SPEAKER_07: But I mean, give it to the Seattle.
- 9:19SPEAKER_07: I mean, they they meet they played an awesome game.
- 9:21SPEAKER_11: Yeah, yeah.
- 9:21SPEAKER_11: Yeah, Seattle absolutely does.
- 9:23SPEAKER_07: Well, I just read something before I came up here.
- 9:26SPEAKER_07: Sam Darnold, okay?
- 9:28SPEAKER_11: I think I know what you're gonna say.
- 9:30SPEAKER_07: Got paid, he won the Super Bowl, he gets paid$171,000, right?
- 9:34SPEAKER_11: Yes, yes, I know.
- 9:35SPEAKER_07: California taxed him$249,000.
- 9:38SPEAKER_07: Right.
- 9:39SPEAKER_07: So he lost$71,000 for playing and winning the Super Bowl.
- 9:42SPEAKER_07: Yes.
- 9:43SPEAKER_07: Which is how ridiculous.
- 9:44SPEAKER_07: And you know that was every single player on that team.
- 9:47SPEAKER_07: It's criminal.
- 9:48SPEAKER_07: It is criminal.
- 9:49SPEAKER_07: It is criminal.
- 9:50SPEAKER_07: They should have just you know got a SWAT team, walked up and just took everybody's wallet.
- 9:54SPEAKER_11: Yep.
- 9:55SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 9:55SPEAKER_11: It's the same freaking thing.
- 9:56SPEAKER_11: It is.
- 9:57SPEAKER_11: Yep.
- 9:57SPEAKER_11: I mean, that's ridiculous.
- 9:59SPEAKER_11: I actually shared that it was uh it was a meme or something, uh, and I shared that with my wife too.
- 10:05SPEAKER_11: Uh she never said anything about it, but yeah, I know exactly what you're talking about.
- 10:08SPEAKER_11: I saw the same thing.
- 10:09SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 10:10SPEAKER_11: I mean that's criminal.
- 10:11SPEAKER_07: It's wrong.
- 10:12SPEAKER_07: They should never have a Super Bowl in California ever again.
- 10:15SPEAKER_11: Ever.
- 10:15SPEAKER_07: Ever.
- 10:16SPEAKER_11: If it's true.
- 10:18SPEAKER_11: It probably is.
- 10:19SPEAKER_11: You can't believe everything you read on the internet.
- 10:21SPEAKER_11: I mean, true, but I I wouldn't put it past California.
- 10:24SPEAKER_11: I wouldn't put put it past California.
- 10:26SPEAKER_07: They're so freaking broke, man.
- 10:27SPEAKER_11: Yep.
- 10:28SPEAKER_11: So Yep, I wouldn't.
- 10:29SPEAKER_07: I wanna it's just crazy, dude.
- 10:31SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 10:33SPEAKER_11: Ah Um Okay, so there's the Super Bowl.
- 10:36SPEAKER_11: So we do have to, we don't have to, but I wanted to uh talk about this dude.
- 10:42SPEAKER_11: Um what dude?
- 10:44SPEAKER_11: Well the one we lost uh r recently.
- 10:49SPEAKER_11: And I I want to talk about what you think happens now.
- 10:57SPEAKER_11: Why is that guy in his underwear?
- 10:58SPEAKER_11: Hold on a second.
- 10:59SPEAKER_11: Why is this out or is this no no, why is it not playing?
- 11:02SPEAKER_11: I don't know.
- 11:04SPEAKER_11: Uh I'm not over there to figure it out.
- 11:07SPEAKER_11: It should be playing.
- 11:10SPEAKER_07: Nothing is playing stupid.
- 11:17SPEAKER_11: I got it turned up.
- 11:22SPEAKER_06: Nothing.
- 11:25SPEAKER_11: Come on, what's going on here, folks?
- 11:27SPEAKER_11: Is your computer plugged in?
- 11:29SPEAKER_11: It is?
- 11:30SPEAKER_11: Okay.
- 11:30SPEAKER_11: That's plugged in right there.
- 11:32SPEAKER_11: That's going on.
- 11:34SPEAKER_11: Let me follow all the chords.
- 11:40SPEAKER_11: It's right there.
- 11:41SPEAKER_11: And we gotta hit the nothing's on mute.
- 11:44SPEAKER_11: Got this one turned up, nothing is on mute, there's no mute.
- 11:48SPEAKER_11: Uh try another one.
- 11:52SPEAKER_07: Try another just just another random video.
- 11:56SPEAKER_07: Maybe it's maybe it's just that.
- 11:59SPEAKER_07: Maybe it's just that one.
- 12:03SPEAKER_11: No.
- 12:04SPEAKER_07: That's nothing.
- 12:06SPEAKER_11: Well, this is not gonna be good.
- 12:08SPEAKER_07: Wow! Wow This just puts a damper on the whole thing, man.
- 12:11SPEAKER_11: It does.
- 12:12SPEAKER_11: Let's see.
- 12:14SPEAKER_11: Let's go here, click on that.
- 12:17SPEAKER_11: Alright, so that's working.
- 12:19SPEAKER_11: Uh that's acceptable levels.
- 12:23SPEAKER_11: On air.
- 12:26SPEAKER_11: Audio.
- 12:28SPEAKER_11: Well, it I mean, it was turned down, but it's not turned down all the way.
- 12:32SPEAKER_11: Let me see.
- 12:37SPEAKER_11: Now you know what I'm talking about.
- 12:38SPEAKER_11: Yes.
- 12:42SPEAKER_11: So Brad Arnold of Three Doors Down, lead singer.
- 12:49SPEAKER_11: Recently passed.
- 12:51SPEAKER_11: Uh cancer.
- 12:52SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 12:53SPEAKER_02: Let's go to walk around the world.
- 12:55SPEAKER_11: I think it was kidney.
- 12:56SPEAKER_11: It was kidney cancer.
- 12:58SPEAKER_11: Kidney, yeah.
- 12:58SPEAKER_11: Yeah, it was kidney cancer.
- 13:00SPEAKER_11: So this is the this is the biggest one that they had.
- 13:03SPEAKER_11: Right?
- 13:04SPEAKER_11: I mean, they had a bunch of other songs.
- 13:05SPEAKER_07: Oh, they had a ton of them, but uh yeah, that's probably their biggest one.
- 13:08SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 13:08SPEAKER_11: And I like this song.
- 13:11SPEAKER_11: You know, I was I was not a huge three doors down fan, but I do like their stuff.
- 13:16SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 13:17SPEAKER_11: Uh I'll tell you the one that I really liked.
- 13:21SPEAKER_11: We played it quite a bit, actually, on the radio.
- 13:28SPEAKER_11: Oh yeah.
- 13:31SPEAKER_11: And I want to talk to you about the radio too here in a minute.
- 13:39SPEAKER_07: It's just pretty No.
- 13:43SPEAKER_11: See, I like I like this one.
- 13:45SPEAKER_11: That's a great song.
- 13:46SPEAKER_11: Um, so here's my question.
- 13:49SPEAKER_11: Now, it's not it's not out of the realm of imagination that they replaced him and continue on because AC DC did it.
- 14:06SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 14:07SPEAKER_11: Um, I mean there's been a change of lead singers.
- 14:12SPEAKER_11: Um ACDC because he died, Bon Scott died.
- 14:15SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 14:16SPEAKER_11: Um I think of uh Firehouse.
- 14:20SPEAKER_11: Yep.
- 14:20SPEAKER_11: Firehouse CJ Snare passed away due to cancer.
- 14:24SPEAKER_11: Yeah, actually.
- 14:25SPEAKER_11: And they have a new lead singer, and they're on the road and they're still playing.
- 14:29SPEAKER_11: Yep.
- 14:29SPEAKER_11: I don't know if they're gonna do an album with him, but they may they could.
- 14:33SPEAKER_07: Uh well at that point, you're just you're not making new music, you're just you're just putting somebody in there to carry on your legacy and and and I mean making a living.
- 14:44SPEAKER_07: Yeah, I mean, you know, the possibility is there, right?
- 14:47SPEAKER_07: But would it be the same?
- 14:49SPEAKER_07: No, but right.
- 14:51SPEAKER_11: So see, I I put myself in this band.
- 14:57SPEAKER_11: Now, if I and and I can I can say this sitting here, right?
- 15:06SPEAKER_11: But if a member of Common Crossing, like if we were still, you know, Shane was up here and we were still playing out.
- 15:14SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 15:14SPEAKER_11: If a member of Common Crossing died, would I find somebody else and carry on?
- 15:23SPEAKER_11: I don't know that I would.
- 15:25SPEAKER_11: Do you know what I mean?
- 15:26SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 15:27SPEAKER_11: Uh Led Zeppelin didn't.
- 15:30SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 15:30SPEAKER_11: You know, when John Bonham passed away, they just it wasn't Led Zeppelin, they they were done.
- 15:34SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 15:35SPEAKER_11: Um and I think there's a little bit of uh I mean they've done stuff since.
- 15:39SPEAKER_07: Sure, not but they never there hasn't been any really any new Led Zeppelin album.
- 15:45SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 15:45SPEAKER_07: You know, it wasn't like it wasn't like Metallica when Cliff Burton died, and then like two days later Jason Newstead starts.
- 15:52SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 15:53SPEAKER_07: You know what I mean?
- 15:54SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 15:54SPEAKER_07: I mean, it w I'm I'm not I'm exaggerating, but it wasn't two days.
- 15:58SPEAKER_11: And I'm not saying I'm not saying either way is right or wrong.
- 16:01SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 16:01SPEAKER_11: I think it's just personal preference.
- 16:03SPEAKER_11: But think about this.
- 16:04SPEAKER_11: So each member of Three Doors Down could, you know, go and start a new project.
- 16:12SPEAKER_11: Uh and they may make it, they may not.
- 16:15SPEAKER_11: In this world, they probably wouldn't.
- 16:19SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 16:19SPEAKER_11: Because of just the way the industry is now.
- 16:22SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 16:22SPEAKER_11: And having to start all over.
- 16:25SPEAKER_11: Uh or do they find a new new lead singer and breathe new life into Three Doors Down?
- 16:32SPEAKER_11: Because people were attached to Brad Arnold.
- 16:34SPEAKER_11: I mean, he was uh Yeah.
- 16:36SPEAKER_11: You know.
- 16:37SPEAKER_11: Uh so I don't know.
- 16:39SPEAKER_11: What do you think?
- 16:39SPEAKER_11: What do you think they're gonna do?
- 16:42SPEAKER_07: I think they're just gonna find a new guy and just continue on.
- 16:46SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 16:47SPEAKER_07: I think if if I mean are they gonna put out new stuff?
- 16:51SPEAKER_07: I don't know.
- 16:51SPEAKER_10: Right.
- 16:52SPEAKER_07: They haven't for quite a while, from what I understand.
- 16:54SPEAKER_07: Right.
- 16:54SPEAKER_07: But I mean, they could still go out on tour as three doors down, just got a new guy.
- 17:02unknown: Right.
- 17:02SPEAKER_11: You know what I mean?
- 17:03SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 17:04SPEAKER_11: And make a living.
- 17:05SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 17:06SPEAKER_07: Doing what they want to do that's what that's I think that's what it really boils down to is you want to keep going.
- 17:12SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 17:12SPEAKER_07: Regardless.
- 17:13SPEAKER_07: And I mean, yeah, I mean, he's the original, he's the original lead singer, and everybody's always gonna remember that.
- 17:20SPEAKER_07: But look at uh uh uh uh uh Lincoln Park.
- 17:24SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 17:25SPEAKER_07: When Chester died, they you know they stopped, they got somebody.
- 17:29SPEAKER_11: Years years went by.
- 17:31SPEAKER_07: Yeah, and then they picked back up again.
- 17:33SPEAKER_07: So I mean, you know, you I don't think there's anything necessarily wrong with keeping going.
- 17:38SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 17:38SPEAKER_07: Like getting somebody, I mean, fans are fickle.
- 17:41SPEAKER_07: What I mean, you're not gonna be able to, you're not gonna fix that.
- 17:44SPEAKER_07: Right.
- 17:45SPEAKER_07: I mean, some people are gonna be, oh, it's not that's not him.
- 17:48SPEAKER_07: I'm not listening to this band ever again, blah, blah, blah.
- 17:51SPEAKER_07: And other people will be like, ah, it's still three doors down.
- 17:54SPEAKER_07: I still want to see it, you know.
- 17:55SPEAKER_07: I mean, look, look at what I you know, when bands come to Bangor, there's only maybe one or two original members left but steeple people still go freaking nuts.
- 18:04SPEAKER_07: Yep, that's going to see him.
- 18:06SPEAKER_07: So, you know.
- 18:07SPEAKER_07: I do it's not like you're out of the game because somebody in your band unfortunately passes away.
- 18:13SPEAKER_07: You know, I think I think it's the duty of well, but again, it it's gotta be a band thing, it's gotta be a band decision.
- 18:21SPEAKER_11: But you also have to think of, and I don't know if we mentioned this or not, but you have to because it's an organization.
- 18:26SPEAKER_07: Right.
- 18:26SPEAKER_11: It's a it's a road crew.
- 18:28SPEAKER_07: It's uh it's a you got management, you got road crew.
- 18:31SPEAKER_11: They have to support their families too.
- 18:32SPEAKER_07: Right.
- 18:33SPEAKER_11: Right?
- 18:33SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 18:33SPEAKER_11: So if you if if you just up and stop, they're out of jobs.
- 18:37SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 18:38SPEAKER_07: You know you just you're just unemployed hundreds of people.
- 18:41SPEAKER_11: Exactly.
- 18:41SPEAKER_11: So so I can I can see them maybe not right away, obviously.
- 18:46SPEAKER_07: Oh no, they'll they'll take a time.
- 18:48SPEAKER_11: They'll take time and grieve and grieve and yeah, and and uh and start up like they'll probably do what Lincoln Park did, like you said.
- 18:55SPEAKER_07: I yeah, they'll probably take a couple years off.
- 18:58SPEAKER_07: You know, the in the meantime they'll look for somebody.
- 19:00SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 19:00SPEAKER_07: You know, they'll be looking.
- 19:02SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 19:02SPEAKER_07: They won't necessarily bring anybody in right away, but they'll be looking.
- 19:06SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 19:06SPEAKER_07: So maybe they already got somebody in mind.
- 19:08SPEAKER_07: I I don't know.
- 19:10SPEAKER_07: So Yeah, maybe, and maybe and it might have been a you know, but like, you know, he's not doing well, maybe we should and and he probably uh he probably oh he probably green lighted it.
- 19:21SPEAKER_11: Right, he probably green lit it.
- 19:22SPEAKER_11: So yeah.
- 19:23SPEAKER_11: Green lit?
- 19:24SPEAKER_11: Green lighted.
- 19:24SPEAKER_11: I don't know.
- 19:25SPEAKER_11: Green lighted.
- 19:26SPEAKER_11: Green lit.
- 19:26SPEAKER_07: Green lit.
- 19:27SPEAKER_07: Probably green lighted.
- 19:28SPEAKER_07: Probably English is hard.
- 19:30SPEAKER_11: It is.
- 19:30SPEAKER_07: I taught it last Friday and I sucked at it.
- 19:33SPEAKER_07: I know.
- 19:35SPEAKER_07: Actually, I didn't have to do anything.
- 19:37SPEAKER_07: I just said that.
- 19:38SPEAKER_11: Wait, what grade level?
- 19:39SPEAKER_07: It was high school.
- 19:40SPEAKER_11: It was.
- 19:40SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 19:40SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 19:41SPEAKER_07: I did that for basically they just came in, sat down.
- 19:45SPEAKER_07: I was like, ah, she wants you to work on your essay.
- 19:48SPEAKER_07: Okay.
- 19:49SPEAKER_07: And I just sat there.
- 19:50SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 19:51SPEAKER_11: It was great.
- 19:51SPEAKER_11: I did that for two years.
- 19:52SPEAKER_11: Oh, by the way, I uh finally got um a letter from the state.
- 19:58SPEAKER_11: I've uh finished all my requirements.
- 20:01SPEAKER_11: Now I just have to apply and pay for teacher certification.
- 20:05SPEAKER_11: But as soon as I do that, I'll be certified.
- 20:07SPEAKER_07: And oh, so there's no more No more classes.
- 20:10SPEAKER_07: Okay, good.
- 20:10SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 20:11SPEAKER_07: So they didn't they didn't railroad you can do that.
- 20:14SPEAKER_11: They did give me a runaround.
- 20:15SPEAKER_11: Oh, they did?
- 20:15SPEAKER_11: Yeah, yeah.
- 20:16SPEAKER_11: Of course.
- 20:16SPEAKER_11: Oh, they gave me a runaround.
- 20:17SPEAKER_11: Yeah, I had they said that I needed uh three more credits of performance.
- 20:22SPEAKER_11: And so I s I went to my uh my advisor and I was like, this is yeah, I got this letter that says I need to take another class.
- 20:27SPEAKER_11: And it's like, no, that's not true.
- 20:29SPEAKER_11: And so what what had happened is I had taken an independent study.
- 20:33SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 20:33SPEAKER_11: Well, within that independent study, there was a performance aspect of it.
- 20:37SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 20:38SPEAKER_11: So I s I sent them the uh syllabus of that that independent study that they pretty much made up for me.
- 20:46SPEAKER_11: Um and they they sent a letter back and said you fulfilled all the requirements.
- 20:51SPEAKER_07: So good to go.
- 20:52SPEAKER_07: You're good to go.
- 20:53SPEAKER_07: Now give us a thousand dollars, punk.
- 20:55SPEAKER_07: Not quite a thousand, but you know.
- 20:57SPEAKER_07: It's gonna be quite a bit.
- 20:57SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 20:58SPEAKER_07: That's why I don't wanna be a regular teacher.
- 21:00SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 21:00SPEAKER_07: Because I don't well, A, I don't want to go back to school and take classes.
- 21:03SPEAKER_07: Right.
- 21:03SPEAKER_07: B, I'm not gonna pay the state any more money than I already am.
- 21:06SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 21:07SPEAKER_11: So Well, I mean, this state is is broke.
- 21:10SPEAKER_11: It's broke.
- 21:11SPEAKER_11: It's the yeah, anyway, I don't want to get into that.
- 21:14SPEAKER_07: Um it's winter carnival in uh Ashland this week, so every day is a theme, like a dress up theme.
- 21:24SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 21:24SPEAKER_07: Well, they all they have two separate ones.
- 21:26SPEAKER_07: They have one for the elementary kids and one for the high school kids.
- 21:28SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 21:29SPEAKER_07: Elementary kids were like dress up like old people.
- 21:31SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 21:32SPEAKER_07: Elementary.
- 21:32SPEAKER_07: Was it because it was the hundredth day of school?
- 21:34SPEAKER_07: No, no, they did that.
- 21:36SPEAKER_11: Well, for us it was today.
- 21:37SPEAKER_07: Well, was it?
- 21:38SPEAKER_07: Yeah, last week uh it was last Friday for her.
- 21:40SPEAKER_07: As I think they went to school earlier than you guys.
- 21:43SPEAKER_11: Maybe, maybe.
- 21:44SPEAKER_07: Uh and the high school kids were Adam Sandler.
- 21:47SPEAKER_07: So they just wore like baggy clothes.
- 21:50SPEAKER_07: I thought somebody should uh you know, had you know, like one of his characters from SNL, right, and he was the old guy, remember that?
- 21:57SPEAKER_07: Yes, I do.
- 21:57SPEAKER_07: Somebody should have dressed up like that, that'd have been perfect.
- 21:59SPEAKER_07: Yeah, well.
- 22:00SPEAKER_07: To fit right in.
- 22:00SPEAKER_07: I know.
- 22:01SPEAKER_07: I was great.
- 22:01SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 22:02SPEAKER_07: So yeah, I I got to school and I was confused.
- 22:05SPEAKER_07: I was like, am I in a retirement home?
- 22:07SPEAKER_07: There's little tiny people dressed in and walking around with canes and walkers.
- 22:11SPEAKER_11: Well, I had uh interesting uh uh we had there was two um ed techs, not ed techs, but uh like one-on-one uh teacher speech speech and and something else.
- 22:24SPEAKER_11: But anyway, they were greeting kids as they came in, but they dressed up like old, old ladies, like with a cane and with uh with gray hair and an old sweater, and they look like really old ladies.
- 22:36SPEAKER_11: But there's a sub that uh subs for us and she is uh in her eighties.
- 22:44SPEAKER_00: Wow!
- 22:45SPEAKER_11: And she said, I'm offended.
- 22:48SPEAKER_11: Really?
- 22:49SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 22:50SPEAKER_11: She's like, I'm offended.
- 22:51SPEAKER_11: She said this to another ed tech.
- 22:53SPEAKER_11: Sure.
- 22:53SPEAKER_11: You know.
- 22:54SPEAKER_11: She didn't say that to to but like for the public, but she's she says, I don't look like that.
- 22:59SPEAKER_11: I'm offended.
- 23:00SPEAKER_11: And I'm thinking to myself, well, you color your hair.
- 23:03SPEAKER_11: That's partially, you know.
- 23:05SPEAKER_11: She was my first grade teacher.
- 23:07SPEAKER_11: Really?
- 23:07SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 23:08SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 23:08SPEAKER_11: She's in her she's in her eighties and she she does uh she's like a teacher's aide for the pre-K and stuff like that.
- 23:14SPEAKER_11: She's great.
- 23:14SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 23:15SPEAKER_11: Don't get me wrong.
- 23:16SPEAKER_11: But she she was literally offended that they dressed up as old ladies on the hundredth day, hundredth day of school.
- 23:22SPEAKER_11: It's like, it doesn't take much these days.
- 23:25SPEAKER_07: You know, that's the world we live in, man.
- 23:27SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 23:27SPEAKER_11: Uh I'm offended! Um I did w I did find something pretty cool I want to uh talk about real quick.
- 23:35SPEAKER_11: Um, what about the radio?
- 23:38SPEAKER_11: Oh, I'll I'll come back to that.
- 23:39SPEAKER_07: Okay.
- 23:40SPEAKER_07: Okay, because I'm keeping it on the agenda.
- 23:42SPEAKER_11: Yes, because uh and it's nothing big.
- 23:44SPEAKER_07: Okay.
- 23:45SPEAKER_07: First nominate and agenda call to order.
- 23:48SPEAKER_07: We're gonna take attendance.
- 23:50SPEAKER_07: Uh O'Brien.
- 23:52SPEAKER_10: Here.
- 23:53SPEAKER_07: Uh Doug.
- 23:54SPEAKER_07: Here.
- 23:54SPEAKER_07: Okay, good.
- 23:57SPEAKER_11: I was writing this story on UltimateClassicRock.com uh that uh shot in the dark.
- 24:04SPEAKER_11: Do you know that?
- 24:05SPEAKER_11: Ozzy?
- 24:05SPEAKER_11: Yeah, Ozzy, Ozzie Osborne has not been included on any best of compilations in 30 years.
- 24:14SPEAKER_11: Now Interesting.
- 24:16SPEAKER_11: It's on Osman Cometh, right?
- 24:18SPEAKER_11: Because I have that.
- 24:19SPEAKER_07: Yeah, it's on one of the Randy Rhodes.
- 24:21SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 24:21SPEAKER_07: Oh wait, was that Randy Rhodes?
- 24:22SPEAKER_11: No, it wasn't Randy Rhodes.
- 24:23SPEAKER_11: That was Jakey Lee.
- 24:24SPEAKER_11: Jakey Lee.
- 24:24SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 24:25SPEAKER_11: Uh it says we it was released in February of eighty six as the lead singer, uh lead single from his fourth solo album, The Ultimate Sin.
- 24:32SPEAKER_11: It reached number sixty-eight on the Billboard 100.
- 24:35SPEAKER_11: Uh only four of his songs ever reached higher, most notably the top ten smash closed my eyes forever uh with Lita Ford.
- 24:43SPEAKER_11: But the song has been notably left off notably left off all of career spanning collections that he released since 1998, uh, including The Essential Ozzie Osborne, Prince of Darkness, Memoirs of a Madman.
- 24:55SPEAKER_11: It did appear on the Osman Cometh, which was nineteen ninety-seven.
- 24:59SPEAKER_11: Uh but then when that compilation was re-released in two thousand two, it was replaced by Miracle Man.
- 25:06SPEAKER_11: So they took it off and put another song on there.
- 25:09SPEAKER_11: So that's part of the problem may be that Osborne just didn't like Ultimate Sin as a whole.
- 25:18SPEAKER_11: He didn't like the album.
- 25:20SPEAKER_11: I guess.
- 25:20SPEAKER_11: Uh he says to me it's hands down the worst album I ever made.
- 25:24SPEAKER_11: Uh laying much of the blame on Ron Nevis and the producer.
- 25:27SPEAKER_11: Every track that ha had that same late 80s treatment, it needed more imagination.
- 25:32SPEAKER_11: Now I love Shot in the Dark.
- 25:34SPEAKER_11: That's a good song.
- 25:35SPEAKER_11: I l I I love that sound.
- 25:37SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 25:37SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 25:38SPEAKER_11: Um so the reason but the reason I thought this was kind of uh neat was let's see.
- 25:47SPEAKER_11: Um course they had Jake E.
- 25:49SPEAKER_11: Lee and Bob Daisley wrote a lot of the music for that album.
- 25:52SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 25:53SPEAKER_11: And Ozzy was in drug rehab.
- 25:56SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 25:56SPEAKER_11: So he came in and he sang it.
- 25:59SPEAKER_11: Um but he didn't really have a lot to do with That's probably why he hates it.
- 26:03SPEAKER_11: Probably.
- 26:03SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 26:04SPEAKER_11: Um that's where Shot in the Dark enters the story.
- 26:06SPEAKER_11: When asked if he had any potential songs to contribute to the Ultimate Sin.
- 26:10SPEAKER_11: Oh, I I should re rewind.
- 26:12SPEAKER_11: So Yeah.
- 26:15SPEAKER_11: Both J.K.
- 26:16SPEAKER_11: Lee and uh bassist Bob Daisley, who wrote the album, uh battled for songwriting credit.
- 26:25SPEAKER_11: Right?
- 26:25SPEAKER_11: Of course.
- 26:26SPEAKER_11: And so Bob Daisley left the band before recording his bass parts, and Osborne hired Phil Sousan.
- 26:34SPEAKER_11: Okay, now Phil Sousan was in Dio's band.
- 26:36SPEAKER_11: He was in he was the original bass player in Last in Line, who Who Passed On.
- 26:41SPEAKER_11: Yep.
- 26:41SPEAKER_11: No.
- 26:43SPEAKER_11: Is that right?
- 26:43SPEAKER_11: Or is he he no, he replaced Who Passed On.
- 26:47SPEAKER_11: Right?
- 26:47SPEAKER_08: Did he?
- 26:48SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 26:49unknown: Hold on, I gotta find out.
- 26:51unknown: That's gonna bug me.
- 26:53SPEAKER_11: I think Phil, let's see.
- 26:58SPEAKER_11: Okay, no, yeah.
- 26:59SPEAKER_11: Phil Sousan replaced Well, who was the original bass player in Last in Line?
- 27:04SPEAKER_11: It was the um Last in Line.
- 27:10SPEAKER_11: Jimmy Bane.
- 27:11SPEAKER_11: Jimmy Bain was the original bass player uh in Last in Line because he was the original bass player in Dio.
- 27:16SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 27:17SPEAKER_11: But he passed away.
- 27:18SPEAKER_08: Right.
- 27:18SPEAKER_11: And so Phil Soussan replaced him.
- 27:21SPEAKER_11: Anyway, Phil Sousan uh had a demo version of the still unreleased shot in the dark, with which he originally written for his previous band, Wildlife.
- 27:34SPEAKER_11: Okay?
- 27:34SPEAKER_11: Uh he says, We never released it, and then when we broke up, I presented the song to three or four projects afterwards.
- 27:40SPEAKER_11: It wasn't until Ozzie heard it and said, Oh, let's do that, that it got released.
- 27:45SPEAKER_11: So it's funny, a song sits in a drawer for a long time and then one day somebody relates to it.
- 27:50SPEAKER_11: I have part of the original demo, which I think is pretty cool.
- 27:54SPEAKER_11: And then I re- recognized the voice, so I looked up who was in the band Wildlife.
- 28:00SPEAKER_11: Now, this may not mean anything to you.
- 28:02SPEAKER_11: Um there's a band called FM.
- 28:04SPEAKER_11: Have you ever heard of FM?
- 28:05SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 28:06SPEAKER_11: Steve Overland is the lead singer of F FM, and his brother Chris is a guitar player for FM.
- 28:13SPEAKER_11: Anyway, both of them were in the band Wildlife.
- 28:16SPEAKER_11: Ah.
- 28:16SPEAKER_11: So Wildlife's original demo sounds nothing like Ozzy's version.
- 28:22SPEAKER_11: Okay.
- 28:23SPEAKER_11: Uh I I heard the demo and I was like, I know that voice, I know that voice.
- 28:27SPEAKER_11: And that's when I looked it up, and Steve Overton or Overlin was the singer.
- 28:31SPEAKER_11: So this is about a minute of the original demo that Ozzie Osbourne heard, and they turned into Shot in the Dark.
- 28:38SPEAKER_08: Okay.
- 28:39SPEAKER_13: Oh, this may be the worst video ever.
- 29:02SPEAKER_11: Well, this is the original positive video.
- 29:04SPEAKER_07: Yeah, but it's still bad.
- 29:06SPEAKER_11: Oh yeah.
- 29:48SPEAKER_11: Which was a terrible video.
- 29:49SPEAKER_07: It was a terrible video.
- 29:50SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 29:50SPEAKER_07: Uh but But I can I can see the I could see what he saw.
- 29:54SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 29:55SPEAKER_07: I mean it it I mean, even it's a slower, yeah, less exciting version than what be what it became.
- 30:03SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 30:04SPEAKER_07: But I I could see you know, I could see what he could see.
- 30:08SPEAKER_07: There's definitely potential there.
- 30:09SPEAKER_07: Same, same, yeah.
- 30:10SPEAKER_07: I mean it's got a good melody.
- 30:12SPEAKER_11: Yep.
- 30:12SPEAKER_11: You know.
- 30:13SPEAKER_11: And just for reference, uh not that I have to do this, but you know why not?
- 30:19SPEAKER_11: Uh just for reference.
- 30:21SPEAKER_07: It's my podcast and I'll do what I want.
- 30:24SPEAKER_11: I like that.
- 30:26SPEAKER_11: Uh let's uh let's get the Ozzy's version in here.
- 30:30SPEAKER_11: Uh maybe if I have it.
- 30:33SPEAKER_11: Ha ha ha ha ha.
- 30:34SPEAKER_11: I don't have oh yes, I do.
- 30:36SPEAKER_11: Yes, I do right here.
- 30:42SPEAKER_07: I mean it's not it's not that far from the original.
- 30:45SPEAKER_11: I mean it's well it's it's faster.
- 30:47SPEAKER_07: A little bit faster.
- 30:48SPEAKER_07: It's a little more it's got a little more meat to it.
- 30:51SPEAKER_11: It does.
- 30:51SPEAKER_11: Well, here comes the guitar from Jake E.
- 30:53SPEAKER_11: Lee, right?
- 30:57SPEAKER_11: Which makes the song for me for me.
- 31:01SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 31:06SPEAKER_11: I gotta say I like Ozzy's version better.
- 31:08SPEAKER_07: Oh yeah, way better.
- 31:08SPEAKER_11: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 31:15SPEAKER_11: See, I I liked this era of Ozzy.
- 31:19SPEAKER_11: Um Ozzy was fun.
- 31:23SPEAKER_11: Just maybe it's because I have a soft spot for the 80s.
- 31:26SPEAKER_07: Oh no, I mean when he was with Black Sabbath, he was kinda he kind of had that aura.
- 31:32SPEAKER_15: Yeah.
- 31:32SPEAKER_07: You know, it's like, ooh, it's Ozzy, it's evil, he's eating bats, you know, and whatever.
- 31:38SPEAKER_07: Right.
- 31:38SPEAKER_07: But this was like fun Aussie.
- 31:40SPEAKER_07: Well, eating bats though was after seven.
- 31:44SPEAKER_07: But you know, still, I mean, it's just it's a perception thing.
- 31:47SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 31:47SPEAKER_07: But this isn't this was fun Aussie.
- 31:49SPEAKER_11: I agree, I agree.
- 31:51SPEAKER_11: And he and he but he he did a lot of that for shock value.
- 31:54SPEAKER_07: Oh, they all do, man.
- 31:56SPEAKER_07: I mean, come on.
- 31:56SPEAKER_07: I mean, yeah, does Slayer actually worship the devil?
- 31:59SPEAKER_07: No, they just do it to sell records.
- 32:01SPEAKER_11: Exactly.
- 32:03SPEAKER_07: You know what I mean?
- 32:04SPEAKER_11: So Right.
- 32:05SPEAKER_11: I want to see if this uh because this was supposed to be announced today, I thought.
- 32:13SPEAKER_11: Um maybe not.
- 32:17SPEAKER_11: Uh because the inductees for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame were supposed to be.
- 32:21SPEAKER_07: Oh boy!
- 32:22SPEAKER_11: Yeah, I know, right?
- 32:25SPEAKER_11: Uh how infuriated are we gonna get right now?
- 32:30SPEAKER_11: Okay, they have not been they have not officially uh but they the predictions uh I noticed we just jumped from Aussie to this, but that's okay.
- 32:40SPEAKER_11: We're good at that.
- 32:41SPEAKER_11: The predictions uh fan polls uh and suggesting artists some of them I agree with and some of them I just don't understand.
- 32:50SPEAKER_11: Um top predictions Oasis Whatever.
- 32:56SPEAKER_11: I don't know why I don't understand the Oasis thing.
- 33:02SPEAKER_07: I don't either.
- 33:03SPEAKER_07: I mean they never did anything for me, but Mariah Carey She was huge in more ways than one wrong one.
- 33:18SPEAKER_11: I meant I meant that.
- 33:20SPEAKER_11: Um Iron Maiden.
- 33:24SPEAKER_07: Finally, yeah.
- 33:26SPEAKER_11: Do you think they'll go in?
- 33:27SPEAKER_07: No.
- 33:27SPEAKER_11: No, I don't either.
- 33:30SPEAKER_11: Phil Collins as a solo artist.
- 33:33SPEAKER_07: Okay.
- 33:34SPEAKER_07: Yeah, yeah, absolutely.
- 33:35SPEAKER_07: I agree.
- 33:35SPEAKER_07: He's already in anyway, so you know why not?
- 33:37SPEAKER_11: Lenny Kravitz?
- 33:39SPEAKER_07: Okay.
- 33:39SPEAKER_07: I'm not I'm okay with it.
- 33:41SPEAKER_07: I like running.
- 33:43SPEAKER_07: Renny.
- 33:44SPEAKER_11: Alice and Chains.
- 33:45SPEAKER_11: Okay.
- 33:47SPEAKER_11: Pearl Jam's in, right?
- 33:48SPEAKER_07: Are they?
- 33:49SPEAKER_11: Are they?
- 33:50SPEAKER_11: I thought they were.
- 33:52SPEAKER_11: Because if Pearl Jam is in, then Alice and Alice and Chains gotta go in in.
- 33:55SPEAKER_11: Soundgarden, did they go in?
- 33:56SPEAKER_11: I have no idea.
- 33:57SPEAKER_11: I know they were nominated.
- 33:59SPEAKER_11: Wu Chang Clan.
- 34:02SPEAKER_11: Wu Chang! In the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
- 34:06SPEAKER_07: Hey, how many rap artists are in Rock and Hall of Fame?
- 34:10SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 34:10SPEAKER_11: Why not?
- 34:11SPEAKER_11: Exactly.
- 34:11SPEAKER_11: Why not?
- 34:12SPEAKER_11: First time eligibility, cold play.
- 34:16SPEAKER_07: I'm not a fan, but whatever.
- 34:19SPEAKER_11: Alicia Keys.
- 34:22SPEAKER_07: She's great.
- 34:23SPEAKER_11: She is.
- 34:23SPEAKER_07: I wouldn't put her in that.
- 34:24SPEAKER_07: I don't think she's rock and roll.
- 34:26SPEAKER_07: She's she's more RB soul.
- 34:28SPEAKER_07: But that's just me.
- 34:30SPEAKER_11: Uh longtime snubs.
- 34:33SPEAKER_11: Uh Joy Division New Order, Devo, The Smiths, Jane's Addiction, Motorhead, and Sticks.
- 34:40SPEAKER_11: You know who else is not in the Hall of Fame?
- 34:42SPEAKER_11: Arya Speedwagon.
- 34:44SPEAKER_11: Boston.
- 34:45SPEAKER_07: Boston?
- 34:46SPEAKER_11: Not in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
- 34:48SPEAKER_11: That's crazy.
- 34:48SPEAKER_11: It is crazy.
- 34:50SPEAKER_11: Uh reports say that or suggest that the 2026 ballot may be RB heavy or continue to focus on MTV era artists, sparking debate among fans about the definition of uh speaking of that, I've been listening to uh Greg and the Morning Buzz on W H E B.
- 35:15SPEAKER_11: It's uh stationed in New Hampshire.
- 35:17SPEAKER_11: Do you remember Greg and the Morning Buzz?
- 35:19SPEAKER_07: I've heard of it?
- 35:20SPEAKER_07: I don't I think I've only heard of it because you and Shane have talked about it.
- 35:23SPEAKER_07: Yeah, yeah.
- 35:23SPEAKER_11: Shane listens to it all the time.
- 35:24SPEAKER_11: Yeah, and and I I used to, and it I forgot about it.
- 35:28SPEAKER_11: So I put it on this week.
- 35:30SPEAKER_11: Uh and I've been listening to it, and then you have a really good radio though.
- 35:34SPEAKER_11: Well, it's on my phone.
- 35:36SPEAKER_11: Sure.
- 35:37unknown: Yeah.
- 35:40SPEAKER_11: It's on the iHeart app.
- 35:41SPEAKER_11: Okay.
- 35:42SPEAKER_11: Anyway.
- 35:43SPEAKER_07: That's that's plausible.
- 35:44SPEAKER_07: So and then I gotta go.
- 35:46SPEAKER_11: And then I continue listening after the the show, uh, and it's a just you know, it's a rock station.
- 35:53SPEAKER_11: Oh yeah.
- 35:54SPEAKER_11: Then I flip to the 1019 The Rock, our our old station.
- 35:59SPEAKER_11: Uh I want to program a rock station.
- 36:05SPEAKER_11: Because I am, and I know you feel the same, but sick and tired of the same four Led Zeppelin songs.
- 36:13SPEAKER_11: Same six, same ACDC songs.
- 36:16SPEAKER_11: There are so many other songs out there that not only were popular, but are fan favorites.
- 36:28SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 36:28SPEAKER_11: That the radio stations don't play.
- 36:31SPEAKER_11: Exactly.
- 36:31SPEAKER_11: Because they do their research and and whichever songs trend higher is are the ones that make the playlist.
- 36:41SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 36:41SPEAKER_11: And I'm telling you, there are stations that should be like like uh you can play you can make a rock station that plays Blink 182, uh, next to Journey, next to uh uh I I don't know, you name it, Van Halen, Def Leppard, uh uh Newerbit Allison Chains, right?
- 37:03SPEAKER_11: Okay.
- 37:04SPEAKER_11: Uh and then you should be able to have we I think I used to do this when when I was programming the rock uh before we went.
- 37:14SPEAKER_11: Uh before they went, like whatever that other thing was.
- 37:19SPEAKER_11: Um I used to have this thing where I would play a liner that said something like uh New New Rock from veteran artist or something like that.
- 37:30SPEAKER_11: And and you'd hear that, and then I would play a Tom Petty song that came out that year.
- 37:36SPEAKER_10: Right.
- 37:36SPEAKER_11: Right?
- 37:37SPEAKER_11: Nobody does that anymore.
- 37:39SPEAKER_10: I know.
- 37:40SPEAKER_11: You know, it's like if they played Tom Petty, they'd play the same five Tom Petty songs.
- 37:44SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 37:45SPEAKER_11: When you know, if Tom Petty was still putting out music, well, well, let's uh Def Leppard.
- 37:49SPEAKER_11: Def Leppard Rejoice, which is their brand new song.
- 37:52SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 37:52SPEAKER_11: I don't know if you've ever heard it.
- 37:53SPEAKER_11: Did you hear it?
- 37:53SPEAKER_11: Yeah, we listened to it.
- 37:54SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 37:55SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 37:55SPEAKER_11: So so instead of playing Pour Some Sugar on Me or Hysteria, why don't you say new music from Def Leopard and hit and hit it and see what it does.
- 38:08SPEAKER_11: Right?
- 38:09SPEAKER_11: Streaming has ruined everything.
- 38:12SPEAKER_11: It really has.
- 38:13SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 38:13SPEAKER_11: So I would like to program a radio station where I get to pick what what plays next to what because I would include some deep cuts.
- 38:23SPEAKER_11: Not deep, deep cuts, but I mean like songs that are part of their catalog that that are favorites, but they don't get they don't get exposure.
- 38:38SPEAKER_11: Right?
- 38:39SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 38:40SPEAKER_11: I was driving here and I a couple songs popped into my head.
- 38:44SPEAKER_11: Now, I wouldn't necessarily program these songs because these are kind of out there.
- 38:48SPEAKER_11: But I want to see if you remember them.
- 38:51SPEAKER_11: One of them I think I may have played for you.
- 38:53SPEAKER_11: And one of them, either if you don't know it, well, actually, one of them, if you know it, you will have forgotten about it for a long time.
- 39:02SPEAKER_11: And it'll bring back memories.
- 39:04SPEAKER_11: But you may not even know it.
- 39:05SPEAKER_11: So let me start with this first one.
- 39:07SPEAKER_11: And I think I've asked you this before whether you know this song or not.
- 39:12SPEAKER_11: This is Baton Rouge.
- 40:20SPEAKER_11: Okay, so that's Baton Rouge, and this has to be like early, early 90s, late 80s, early 90s.
- 40:26SPEAKER_11: Yeah, they got that sound.
- 40:27SPEAKER_11: From their Shake Your Soul album.
- 40:29SPEAKER_11: But that was that was played on Pirate Radio, and it became a I'm not gonna say a hit.
- 40:34SPEAKER_11: It wasn't a hit, but it was popular.
- 40:37SPEAKER_11: Uh so much so that I remembered it, right?
- 40:40SPEAKER_11: Uh I'm gonna play one more for you, and I want to see if you remember this.
- 40:45SPEAKER_11: Don't look at the screen because I want you to guess who.
- 40:49SPEAKER_11: Oh yeah, GTR.
- 40:51SPEAKER_11: You remember this?
- 40:52SPEAKER_11: Yeah, love this dog, right?
- 40:54SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 40:54SPEAKER_11: This is uh Steve Howe and Steve Hackett.
- 40:57SPEAKER_11: Uh one from Yes, one from Genesis.
- 40:59SPEAKER_11: Yep.
- 40:59SPEAKER_11: They put together this awesome band.
- 41:03SPEAKER_11: This was a hit for them.
- 41:06SPEAKER_11: When the heart rules the mind.
- 41:08SPEAKER_11: Yeah, I love this dog.
- 41:09SPEAKER_11: Big chorus is just uh chorus tic tac.
- 41:12SPEAKER_11: Yeah, yeah.
- 41:14SPEAKER_11: But never got it to do.
- 41:16SPEAKER_11: No, I don't think.
- 42:26SPEAKER_07: I guess it was like a uh it was a the it was their answer to the all the stints.
- 42:30SPEAKER_07: Durbin locked.
- 42:32SPEAKER_11: Yep, it's um Max Bacon is the lead singer.
- 42:37SPEAKER_11: I've never heard of a bacon bacon.
- 42:39SPEAKER_07: It's gotta be a good band.
- 42:47SPEAKER_11: But again, this kind of stuff doesn't get its it's due, right?
- 42:58SPEAKER_07: I know this is an amazing song.
- 43:01SPEAKER_07: There it is again.
- 43:08SPEAKER_11: I don't know if they had any other hits.
- 43:10SPEAKER_11: I think they may have I think this is the only one.
- 43:11SPEAKER_11: I think they may have another like minor hit.
- 43:14SPEAKER_07: Yeah, maybe, but this is the only one I know.
- 43:17SPEAKER_07: This song is awesome, man.
- 43:19SPEAKER_11: Oh wait, this too great to put it up.
- 43:27SPEAKER_11: What a voice.
- 43:30SPEAKER_11: Oh, his name's Bacon.
- 43:32SPEAKER_16: How can he not be great?
- 43:38SPEAKER_11: Great stuff.
- 43:39SPEAKER_11: Great stuff.
- 43:39SPEAKER_11: GTR is the name of that band.
- 43:42SPEAKER_11: Uh that album was good too.
- 43:43SPEAKER_11: I think I had the whole album.
- 43:45SPEAKER_11: I don't think I had the album, but I had that I had that single.
- 43:48SPEAKER_11: I'm pretty sure I did have the album.
- 43:49SPEAKER_11: I don't know whatever happened to it, but maybe it was on cassette.
- 43:52SPEAKER_11: Probably.
- 43:53SPEAKER_11: I got rid of a bunch of my cassettes.
- 43:54SPEAKER_11: Gone.
- 43:55SPEAKER_11: Gone.
- 43:55SPEAKER_11: Uh returning to uh our listener mail.
- 44:00SPEAKER_11: Uh we said we were gonna go back to this, so this is Bouncing Bob's uh challenge to us.
- 44:05SPEAKER_11: He gave us a bunch of songs that were covers and and asked us if uh we like the cover better than the original.
- 44:14SPEAKER_11: Correct.
- 44:15SPEAKER_11: Typically we say usually the original.
- 44:16SPEAKER_07: It's usually the original.
- 44:17SPEAKER_07: Very few times have we say we like the cover better.
- 44:20SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 44:20SPEAKER_11: Uh and so and I'm not gonna play all of them.
- 44:26SPEAKER_11: Uh let's see.
- 44:29SPEAKER_11: Because that would just take up a lot of time.
- 44:33SPEAKER_11: But let me play the original of this.
- 44:36SPEAKER_11: And I think you probably I have not heard the cover.
- 44:39SPEAKER_11: Uh but there it is.
- 44:44SPEAKER_11: Here is the original.
- 44:49SPEAKER_11: This is Jerry Rafferty.
- 44:50SPEAKER_11: Yep.
- 44:51SPEAKER_11: Baker Street.
- 44:56SPEAKER_11: Comes that big saxophone part.
- 45:00SPEAKER_07: This is a staple of Yarrock.
- 45:02SPEAKER_11: Right, absolutely.
- 45:09SPEAKER_11: You know who Jerry Rafferty is, right?
- 45:12SPEAKER_07: He's a guy.
- 45:13SPEAKER_07: Get this off.
- 45:16SPEAKER_07: Let's see.
- 45:17SPEAKER_11: Maybe you didn't know this.
- 45:23SPEAKER_11: Listen to him sing and I'll tell you.
- 45:25SPEAKER_07: Well, he's a singer for somebody I can't remember about.
- 45:30SPEAKER_11: Oh, come on.
- 45:31SPEAKER_11: So so forgot it's a long intro.
- 45:34unknown: Forget about everything.
- 45:38SPEAKER_04: This city doesn't make sure.
- 45:40SPEAKER_11: Stuck in the middle.
- 45:42SPEAKER_11: Oh, Steelers Wheel.
- 45:43SPEAKER_11: Steeler's Wheel.
- 45:43SPEAKER_11: Yeah, okay.
- 45:44SPEAKER_11: He was in Steelers Wheel.
- 45:46SPEAKER_11: Okay, so this is the original.
- 45:49SPEAKER_11: Right?
- 45:50SPEAKER_11: Have you ever heard this version?
- 46:40SPEAKER_11: Stop fire.
- 47:04SPEAKER_11: See now I love the Foo Fighters.
- 47:06SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 47:06SPEAKER_11: I I gotta go Jerry Rafferty.
- 47:09SPEAKER_07: I don't know, it's pretty close for me.
- 47:11SPEAKER_11: I like both of them.
- 47:12SPEAKER_11: Oh, I do too.
- 47:14SPEAKER_11: But I think I gotta go the original.
- 47:18SPEAKER_11: Which is saying a lot because I love the Foo Fighters.
- 47:26SPEAKER_11: Alright, moving on.
- 47:28SPEAKER_11: Um Bangagong.
- 47:31SPEAKER_11: T-Rex and the Power Station.
- 47:33SPEAKER_11: Power Station.
- 47:33SPEAKER_11: Me too.
- 47:34SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 47:34SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 47:34SPEAKER_11: I'm not even gonna play it.
- 47:35SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 47:35SPEAKER_11: I like T-Rex.
- 47:36SPEAKER_11: That's one of the few times that they cover it way better than the original.
- 47:41SPEAKER_11: I totally agree.
- 47:42SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 47:42SPEAKER_11: Um Fast Car, Tracy Chapman or Luke Combs?
- 47:46SPEAKER_11: Tracy Chapman.
- 47:46SPEAKER_11: Same.
- 47:47SPEAKER_11: Pinball Wizard, Elton John, or The Who.
- 47:49SPEAKER_11: The Who?
- 47:50SPEAKER_11: Me too.
- 47:51SPEAKER_11: Do you want to dance?
- 47:52SPEAKER_11: Beach Boys for the original or the Remote?
- 47:56SPEAKER_11: I don't know.
- 47:57SPEAKER_11: I've ever heard the Remote.
- 47:58SPEAKER_11: Really?
- 47:58SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 47:58SPEAKER_11: I have.
- 48:00SPEAKER_11: Let's see.
- 48:05SPEAKER_11: Just think of the Beach Boy song.
- 48:07SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 48:07SPEAKER_11: And just think of the remote song.
- 48:13SPEAKER_07: I mean, I I I have a I have an idea in my head what it's gonna sound like.
- 48:17SPEAKER_07: Just because I know the Ramones.
- 48:20SPEAKER_11: I bet you you're spot on.
- 48:22SPEAKER_07: Oh, yeah, I've heard this, yeah.
- 48:24SPEAKER_07: Okay.
- 48:30SPEAKER_07: Honestly, I'm gonna go with the Ramones on the first one.
- 48:32SPEAKER_07: I have the new one.
- 48:32SPEAKER_07: I have two.
- 48:33SPEAKER_11: It's way more fun.
- 48:34SPEAKER_11: Don't get me wrong, I love the Beach Boys, but I think I would have to go with with the Ramones on this one.
- 48:39SPEAKER_07: Yeah, I like the Remote version.
- 48:49SPEAKER_11: Oh yeah, I gotta go with the Ramones.
- 48:51SPEAKER_11: Uh okay, so this is an interesting one because we could go a couple of different ways on this.
- 48:58SPEAKER_11: And I'm not sure.
- 48:59SPEAKER_11: I think Bob knows this.
- 49:01SPEAKER_11: But uh if he doesn't, then I'm going to.
- 49:03SPEAKER_07: Did he set us up?
- 49:04SPEAKER_11: No, I don't think so.
- 49:06SPEAKER_11: Uh I'm pretty sure Bob knows this.
- 49:24SPEAKER_11: Okay.
- 49:25SPEAKER_11: So here's what Bob claims is the original.
- 49:37SPEAKER_11: It's the monkeys.
- 49:38SPEAKER_11: Yep.
- 49:39SPEAKER_12: And for someone else, but not for me.
- 49:42SPEAKER_11: Not gonna waste a lot of time.
- 49:45SPEAKER_11: Uh here is Smash Mouth.
- 49:47SPEAKER_11: Yep, yep.
- 49:48SPEAKER_11: Smash Mouth.
- 49:57SPEAKER_11: Out of those two, men for some what would you go with?
- 50:02SPEAKER_07: I like them both.
- 50:02SPEAKER_11: Oh yeah, well, me too.
- 50:04SPEAKER_07: But I mean I think the way it seems.
- 50:09SPEAKER_07: I think the edge is gonna go to Smash Mouth.
- 50:11SPEAKER_07: Really?
- 50:12SPEAKER_07: A little bit.
- 50:12SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 50:13SPEAKER_11: I gotta say, I'm going with the the monkeys.
- 50:17SPEAKER_11: But I'm pretty sure Bob knows this, but I don't know.
- 50:20SPEAKER_11: Uh the original version of this is the stockbinder himself.
- 50:23SPEAKER_11: Oh yeah, yeah.
- 50:23SPEAKER_11: Neil diamond.
- 50:24SPEAKER_11: Neil diamond.
- 50:33SPEAKER_07: If this was in the choices, I would choose this one.
- 50:36SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 50:37SPEAKER_11: Yeah, if this was in the choices, I would choose this one as well.
- 50:39SPEAKER_11: But I'm gonna go with monkeys, and you're going smash mouth?
- 50:42SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 50:43SPEAKER_07: I got a funny.
- 50:45SPEAKER_07: So I was subbing the first grade today.
- 50:47SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 50:47SPEAKER_07: And they were doing something, and I was I was sitting there, I was helping one of the kids, and I heard somebody it was one of the kids singing Smash Mouth.
- 50:57SPEAKER_07: I was like, Oh yeah, what is happening right now?
- 50:59SPEAKER_07: My daughter does that.
- 51:00SPEAKER_07: I looked at the teacher and I went, I gave her this weird look.
- 51:03SPEAKER_07: She starts laughing, right?
- 51:05SPEAKER_07: She goes, Yeah, that's me.
- 51:06SPEAKER_07: I taught him that.
- 51:09SPEAKER_11: Good.
- 51:10SPEAKER_11: I'm glad.
- 51:11SPEAKER_11: The last sword.
- 51:13SPEAKER_11: Dancing in the streets, David Bowie, McJagger, and Martha and the Vandelas.
- 51:18SPEAKER_07: I like the McJagger David Bowie version better.
- 51:20SPEAKER_11: Yeah, I'm going with Martha.
- 51:22SPEAKER_11: Uh this is what we'll end on this one.
- 51:25SPEAKER_11: Because well, actually, no, we're not gonna end on this one because I already know the answer.
- 51:30SPEAKER_11: Um I do want to hear it though, just because you have to hear it.
- 52:20SPEAKER_07: Nothing against Tori Amos.
- 52:22SPEAKER_07: She's supremely talented.
- 52:26SPEAKER_07: But this is just not acceptable.
- 52:30SPEAKER_07: Not acceptable.
- 52:37SPEAKER_07: It's a little creepier.
- 52:39SPEAKER_07: It is, it's just like I'm looking at me.
- 52:43SPEAKER_07: Should we be putting salt on the floor to keep demons away?
- 52:47SPEAKER_11: Uh, how about this?
- 52:48SPEAKER_11: Tiny dancer, Elton John or Ben Folds?
- 52:51SPEAKER_11: Elton John.
- 52:52SPEAKER_11: Yeah, same.
- 52:53SPEAKER_11: Hold me closer, Tony Danz.
- 52:56SPEAKER_11: Alright, this is we'll s we'll end on this one because I have not heard this.
- 53:01SPEAKER_11: I bet you have.
- 53:03SPEAKER_11: Uh, but I think it's a good one.
- 53:46SPEAKER_11: What's the song?
- 53:49SPEAKER_07: What's um Uncle Albert?
- 53:54SPEAKER_07: Nope.
- 53:56SPEAKER_07: Well, I know it's not the song, but that's all I can think of right now.
- 54:00SPEAKER_07: Well, it's it's the it's wings.
- 54:02SPEAKER_07: It is wings.
- 54:03SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 54:03SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 54:04SPEAKER_07: I just Band on the Run.
- 54:06SPEAKER_07: It is Band on the Run.
- 54:07SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 54:07SPEAKER_11: Yes.
- 54:08SPEAKER_07: I just every time I hear that song, I'm like, Uncle Albert.
- 54:11SPEAKER_07: I don't know why.
- 54:13SPEAKER_11: Admiral Halsey.
- 54:14SPEAKER_13: Sent inside forever.
- 54:16SPEAKER_11: Alright, have you ever heard a cover of this song?
- 54:19SPEAKER_11: No.
- 54:19SPEAKER_11: No?
- 54:20SPEAKER_13: Never seen no one.
- 54:23SPEAKER_11: Okay, so this is the one we'll end on as far as this is concerned.
- 54:32SPEAKER_11: Another Foo Fighters one.
- 54:33SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 54:35SPEAKER_11: Foo Fighters again.
- 54:36SPEAKER_11: I didn't know they did this.
- 55:56SPEAKER_07: I don't know, man.
- 56:03SPEAKER_11: You know, I'm one of those guys that normally like, you know, the classic sound.
- 56:08SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 56:52SPEAKER_07: I might have to go with this.
- 56:54SPEAKER_07: This is really, really good, man.
- 56:56SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 56:56SPEAKER_07: Yeah, it's really, really good.
- 56:58SPEAKER_07: Did you know how much he loves Paul McCartney?
- 57:01SPEAKER_07: So Yeah, this is really, really good.
- 57:06SPEAKER_11: It is.
- 57:07SPEAKER_11: I I that's a toss-up for me.
- 57:09SPEAKER_11: It really is.
- 57:09SPEAKER_11: Because I love the original.
- 57:10SPEAKER_11: That can go either way.
- 57:11SPEAKER_11: Yeah, I love the original.
- 57:12SPEAKER_11: But this is really good.
- 57:13SPEAKER_11: Really good.
- 57:16SPEAKER_11: Alright, so we'll stop there for that.
- 57:19SPEAKER_11: Uh anyway.
- 57:20SPEAKER_11: Uh let me do this.
- 57:24SPEAKER_11: Um let's uh let's kick this puppy off.
- 57:29SPEAKER_11: Oh yeah, it's movie time! Movie time, okay.
- 57:34SPEAKER_07: Locations near you.
- 57:35SPEAKER_07: Planet Fitness.
- 57:36SPEAKER_07: I'm fitness pizza in my mouth.
- 57:38SPEAKER_07: That's what I love going.
- 57:42SPEAKER_11: Screw those guys.
- 57:44SPEAKER_11: I have picked three that I think you'll get.
- 57:46SPEAKER_11: And one that I think will be a challenge.
- 57:48SPEAKER_11: Alright, cool.
- 57:49SPEAKER_11: Uh what we're playing is poorly explained movies.
- 57:53SPEAKER_11: The 80s edition.
- 57:55SPEAKER_11: Why is that skipping?
- 57:58SPEAKER_11: Did you notice that?
- 57:59SPEAKER_07: Yeah, I did.
- 57:59SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 57:59SPEAKER_11: I don't know.
- 58:00SPEAKER_07: I blame YouTube.
- 58:02SPEAKER_11: Alright, this one I think you'll get.
- 58:05SPEAKER_11: Here is the explanation.
- 58:07SPEAKER_11: Okay.
- 58:08SPEAKER_11: A tourist won't stop pointing at things.
- 58:18SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 58:21SPEAKER_11: Do you need the hint?
- 58:22SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 58:23SPEAKER_11: You don't want to think about it for a second?
- 58:25SPEAKER_07: No, because it's not making any sense.
- 58:27SPEAKER_11: It's a really long finger.
- 58:32SPEAKER_11: 1982.
- 58:36SPEAKER_07: Oh.
- 58:36SPEAKER_07: E.T.
- 58:42SPEAKER_11: You get it now?
- 58:43SPEAKER_07: That is so bad.
- 58:44SPEAKER_11: A tourist won't stop parting at the end.
- 58:51SPEAKER_11: Alright, here's another one.
- 58:54SPEAKER_11: A Polaroid ends up getting a woman pregnant.
- 59:04SPEAKER_06: Polaroid.
- 59:10SPEAKER_07: No idea.
- 59:12SPEAKER_11: There's time travel.
- 59:14SPEAKER_11: 1984.
- 59:22SPEAKER_11: Wash day tomorrow, nothing clean.
- 59:25SPEAKER_08: What?
- 59:26SPEAKER_11: Wash day tomorrow, nothing clean.
- 59:31SPEAKER_06: What is that movie?
- 59:34SPEAKER_11: A Polaroid ends up getting a woman pregnant.
- 59:37SPEAKER_11: There's time travel.
- 59:40SPEAKER_07: The only thing I can think of is back to the future.
- 59:42SPEAKER_07: Nope.
- 59:56SPEAKER_11: Oh wait.
- 59:57SPEAKER_11: Terminator.
- 1:00:00SPEAKER_11: I knew you would get it eventually.
- 1:00:01SPEAKER_11: Yeah, I was gonna my next clue.
- 1:00:03SPEAKER_11: I was trying to remember what was my next clue was gonna be uh the Polaroid.
- 1:00:07SPEAKER_11: Picture the Polaroid being on fire.
- 1:00:09SPEAKER_07: Right.
- 1:00:09SPEAKER_11: Yeah, right.
- 1:00:10SPEAKER_07: Right.
- 1:00:10SPEAKER_07: That's I was like, Jesus Christ, what is the only memory I could only think of Back to the Future with the Polaroid.
- 1:00:16SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 1:00:16SPEAKER_07: Well that wasn't even a Polaroid.
- 1:00:18SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 1:00:19SPEAKER_11: So uh all right, last one that I think you'll get, I think this will probably be pretty easy for you.
- 1:00:24SPEAKER_11: Okay.
- 1:00:25SPEAKER_11: Ghosts inspire a construction project.
- 1:00:35SPEAKER_07: Ghosts Inspire a construction project.
- 1:00:37SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 1:00:37SPEAKER_07: Oh, field of dreams.
- 1:00:40SPEAKER_11: If you build it, there you come.
- 1:00:42SPEAKER_11: Here's the here's the hint.
- 1:00:44SPEAKER_11: The location is corny.
- 1:00:46SPEAKER_07: Jesus.
- 1:00:48SPEAKER_07: You know that's that's an actual baseball field?
- 1:00:52SPEAKER_07: Yes.
- 1:00:52SPEAKER_07: I mean it's a huge tourist attraction.
- 1:00:54SPEAKER_07: Oh yeah.
- 1:00:55SPEAKER_07: I'd actually love to go there too.
- 1:00:56SPEAKER_07: Me too.
- 1:00:56SPEAKER_07: Me too.
- 1:00:57SPEAKER_07: I think that'd be really cool.
- 1:00:59SPEAKER_11: Okay.
- 1:01:00SPEAKER_11: Uh I don't think you'll get this, but I could be wrong.
- 1:01:03SPEAKER_11: Okay.
- 1:01:03SPEAKER_11: Uh here is the explanation.
- 1:01:05SPEAKER_11: I've been struggling tonight, so I might not get it.
- 1:01:08SPEAKER_11: And I only remember, I don't think I saw this movie all the way through as a kid.
- 1:01:12SPEAKER_11: Uh because I think it anyway, I'll stop there.
- 1:01:16SPEAKER_11: A lady kills a really big bug.
- 1:01:27SPEAKER_07: Is it alien?
- 1:01:28SPEAKER_10: Nope.
- 1:01:34SPEAKER_11: Okay, so I'll I'll have I'll read the explanation and the hint together.
- 1:01:37SPEAKER_11: A lady kills a really big bug with a shotgun.
- 1:01:43SPEAKER_11: 1986.
- 1:01:51SPEAKER_07: A really big bug with a shotgun.
- 1:01:57SPEAKER_11: I think it was the first pairing of well, I'll give it away if I do that.
- 1:02:06SPEAKER_11: Uh, let's see.
- 1:02:08SPEAKER_11: The bug was a man.
- 1:02:13SPEAKER_07: Was it the fly?
- 1:02:14SPEAKER_11: It was the fly.
- 1:02:15SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 1:02:17SPEAKER_11: Gina Davis and Jeff Goldblum.
- 1:02:19SPEAKER_11: Right?
- 1:02:20SPEAKER_11: That was Gina Davis in that movie.
- 1:02:21SPEAKER_11: I know it was Jeff Goldblum.
- 1:02:22SPEAKER_07: Yeah, it was definitely Jeff Goldblum.
- 1:02:24SPEAKER_07: I think it was Gina Davis.
- 1:02:25SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 1:02:26SPEAKER_07: I don't remember the shotgun though.
- 1:02:27SPEAKER_11: She I think she she killed him with the shotgun or she shot him.
- 1:02:31SPEAKER_07: I guess I don't it's been a it's been a long time since I've seen that movie.
- 1:02:33SPEAKER_11: See, see when when I was a kid, that movie scared me.
- 1:02:37SPEAKER_07: I don't think I watched it as a kid.
- 1:02:38SPEAKER_07: I think I watched it later on.
- 1:02:40SPEAKER_11: See, I just cause it was like, oh the fly.
- 1:02:41SPEAKER_11: I've never seen this, I'm gonna watch it.
- 1:02:43SPEAKER_11: I think it's one of those things where we had cable, uh at least for a little while.
- 1:02:47SPEAKER_11: Yeah at my house in on Elizabeth Street.
- 1:02:49SPEAKER_11: Because this was what uh what did I say?
- 1:02:51SPEAKER_11: 86.
- 1:02:52SPEAKER_11: 86, yeah.
- 1:02:53SPEAKER_07: And uh Wait, you were living in Marsella at 86.
- 1:02:56SPEAKER_11: You're right, I was.
- 1:02:59SPEAKER_11: Well, maybe we had cable there.
- 1:03:00SPEAKER_11: Maybe I don't remember.
- 1:03:02SPEAKER_11: Uh because we didn't have we didn't always have cable.
- 1:03:05SPEAKER_11: But anyway, uh probably was dialing around.
- 1:03:08SPEAKER_11: Yeah, found it and started watching it, and somebody probably came in and said, You can't watch it!
- 1:03:13SPEAKER_00: Turn it off!
- 1:03:14SPEAKER_11: Actually, knowing my family, nobody came in and said so there you go.
- 1:03:20SPEAKER_11: That's poorly explained movies 80s edition.
- 1:03:26SPEAKER_07: It's my new favorite game.
- 1:03:27SPEAKER_07: Yay!
- 1:03:28SPEAKER_16: It's time for everyone's favorite part of the show.
- 1:03:32SPEAKER_16: With everyone's favorites, O'Brien, Doug, Cousin Larry, and yours truly, Miss Judge Ness.
- 1:03:40SPEAKER_16: It's time to play mixtape, mixtape.
- 1:03:44SPEAKER_11: Alright.
- 1:03:45SPEAKER_11: So we do have a past question.
- 1:03:48SPEAKER_11: Right?
- 1:03:49SPEAKER_10: No.
- 1:03:50SPEAKER_10: We don't have a past question.
- 1:03:51SPEAKER_10: Nope.
- 1:03:53SPEAKER_07: Because we skipped it.
- 1:03:54SPEAKER_07: We missed it the other week before, so now we had to ask it this week.
- 1:03:57SPEAKER_07: So we have no answer from the judge.
- 1:04:00SPEAKER_11: We have no answer from the judge.
- 1:04:01SPEAKER_07: Yes.
- 1:04:02SPEAKER_11: That's right.
- 1:04:02SPEAKER_07: So we have to, we're we're starting with the present.
- 1:04:04SPEAKER_11: We're starting with the present.
- 1:04:05SPEAKER_07: Okay.
- 1:04:05SPEAKER_07: And then move on to the future.
- 1:04:07SPEAKER_07: There's only two things, so I'm hoping we'll remember to do two.
- 1:04:12SPEAKER_07: I mean, once we get to three, we seem to drop the ball.
- 1:04:15SPEAKER_07: We do.
- 1:04:16SPEAKER_07: So we're good for two.
- 1:04:18SPEAKER_11: Okay, so we're going to do the present and the future, and then next week we do the past, present, and future.
- 1:04:24SPEAKER_07: But we gotta remember to do the we have to remember to do the future.
- 1:04:27SPEAKER_11: Yes, because we'll screw it.
- 1:04:28SPEAKER_11: Otherwise, next week we're back to We will completely screw it up.
- 1:04:31SPEAKER_11: Two.
- 1:04:32SPEAKER_11: Yes.
- 1:04:33SPEAKER_11: Dos.
- 1:04:34SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 1:04:34SPEAKER_11: Cuestalitos.
- 1:04:35SPEAKER_07: Okay, so that's not actual Spanish.
- 1:04:39SPEAKER_11: Shall we uh read the question again?
- 1:04:43SPEAKER_11: The question is what song makes you want to get all of your flannels back out, buy a pair of Doc Martin's, and shred some jeans.
- 1:04:55SPEAKER_11: What did Cousin Larry say?
- 1:04:58SPEAKER_07: Well, I think he went a different direction than I was thinking.
- 1:05:02SPEAKER_11: Okay.
- 1:05:02SPEAKER_07: So he would he would uh I I was reading his his answer and I was like, what is he talking about?
- 1:05:16SPEAKER_07: So this is what Cousin Larry said.
- 1:05:17SPEAKER_07: Okay.
- 1:05:17SPEAKER_07: Mixtape.
- 1:05:18SPEAKER_07: Well, I guess there are many country songs out there that would make you want to throw on some jeans and a plaid shirt.
- 1:05:25SPEAKER_07: I was thinking grunge, he's going country.
- 1:05:28SPEAKER_07: So it said flannel, it didn't say plaid.
- 1:05:31SPEAKER_07: That's what I'm saying.
- 1:05:32SPEAKER_07: I think he I think he uh Yeah, that's fine.
- 1:05:36SPEAKER_07: She Thinks My Sex Tractor's Sexy by Kenny Chesney, Rednecks Like Me by Ty Tyler Farr, or maybe John Denver St.
- 1:05:43SPEAKER_07: God I'm a country boy, all come to mind.
- 1:05:45SPEAKER_07: Forever in Blue Jeans by Neil Diamond, also, but I've got to go with County Boy by Common Cross.
- 1:05:51SPEAKER_07: He says Common Crossing, but it's actually just you.
- 1:05:53SPEAKER_07: Oh, really?
- 1:05:54SPEAKER_07: Now, where did I put my Doc Martins?
- 1:05:58SPEAKER_11: Where is that?
- 1:05:59SPEAKER_11: Hold on, I gotta.
- 1:06:00SPEAKER_11: Do I have that in here?
- 1:06:00SPEAKER_11: I must have that in here.
- 1:06:03SPEAKER_11: Let's see.
- 1:06:04SPEAKER_11: He chose my song, huh?
- 1:06:06SPEAKER_11: He did.
- 1:06:08SPEAKER_11: Careful because this song crash cars causes car crashes because it's so terrible.
- 1:06:16SPEAKER_11: Let's see, here it is.
- 1:06:36SPEAKER_01: I like to travel around with the top down.
- 1:06:40SPEAKER_01: Do all everything I got.
- 1:06:43SPEAKER_01: I do it all in my life.
- 1:06:51SPEAKER_01: I got very useful, girls love it when I make my noise.
- 1:06:59SPEAKER_01: I got the floor on the floor, I'm the red neck of the north on the County Boy.
- 1:07:06SPEAKER_11: Alright, that's all we need of that.
- 1:07:08SPEAKER_11: Uh I appreciate the that, uh, cousin Larry.
- 1:07:12SPEAKER_11: That's cool.
- 1:07:12SPEAKER_11: Uh, you know, I used to hate that song.
- 1:07:14SPEAKER_11: I know.
- 1:07:16SPEAKER_11: Uh I like it.
- 1:07:17SPEAKER_11: Well, I like the riff, and I, you know, I it's grown on me.
- 1:07:20SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 1:07:20SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 1:07:21SPEAKER_11: I know you I know you wrote it as a joke.
- 1:07:23SPEAKER_11: I did.
- 1:07:23SPEAKER_11: But I like it.
- 1:07:25SPEAKER_11: So it's no, it's fun and it gets a good reaction.
- 1:07:27SPEAKER_11: It does.
- 1:07:28SPEAKER_11: People like it.
- 1:07:29SPEAKER_11: Uh okay, so what did you and I have to admit that I went the same route as you.
- 1:07:34SPEAKER_11: Yeah, I went, I went grunge.
- 1:07:35SPEAKER_11: So what did you what did you?
- 1:07:36SPEAKER_07: Well, I mean, I'm I'm gonna go with the first grunge song I ever heard.
- 1:07:38SPEAKER_07: Okay.
- 1:07:39SPEAKER_07: That turned me on a grunge.
- 1:07:40SPEAKER_07: Smells like Teen Spirit, Nirvana.
- 1:07:42SPEAKER_07: Okay.
- 1:07:43SPEAKER_07: I still remember it as a buzz cut on uh MTV.
- 1:07:47SPEAKER_07: I was like, what is this?
- 1:07:49SPEAKER_07: Cricket fived.
- 1:07:51SPEAKER_11: So I can I can fully back that.
- 1:09:20SPEAKER_11: Now wasn't uh Teen Spirit, wasn't that a deodorant?
- 1:09:26SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 1:09:26SPEAKER_11: Okay, that's why I think so, but that's where they got the title.
- 1:09:29SPEAKER_11: Yeah, I think so.
- 1:09:30SPEAKER_11: Smells like Teen Spirit.
- 1:09:31SPEAKER_11: Alright.
- 1:09:32SPEAKER_11: Nirvana smells like Teen Spirit is your choice.
- 1:09:35SPEAKER_11: Correct a mandoo! Alright, so I went the same, kind of the same route, but every every time I hear this song, I think of uh, you know, that era.
- 1:09:45SPEAKER_11: Ah, Temple the Dog! Yes! Hunger Strike.
- 1:09:49SPEAKER_11: This is both Chris Cornell and uh Eddie Vetter.
- 1:09:53SPEAKER_11: Yep.
- 1:11:00SPEAKER_11: This is just classic.
- 1:11:02SPEAKER_07: This is such a great I mean, this is a great song, but this is a great album.
- 1:11:06SPEAKER_11: Oh yeah.
- 1:11:06SPEAKER_11: So yeah.
- 1:11:08SPEAKER_11: So that's what makes me want to get the Doc Martin's out.
- 1:11:12SPEAKER_11: So Temple of the Dog, Hunger Strike is my choice.
- 1:11:16SPEAKER_11: Smells like Teen Spirit from Nirvana is yours.
- 1:11:19SPEAKER_11: Cousin Larry.
- 1:11:21SPEAKER_11: Well.

- 1:15:15SPEAKER_07: I did hear that.
- 1:15:16SPEAKER_11: It is awesome! I have not seen it, but I have heard it.
- 1:15:18SPEAKER_11: It is amazing.
- 1:15:19SPEAKER_11: Is it?
- 1:15:20SPEAKER_11: I saw it today and I was like, that's Snoop Dogg! Did you see it at the school?
- 1:15:23SPEAKER_07: Yeah, she she plays it for the kids and they love it.
- 1:15:26SPEAKER_11: That's awesome.
- 1:15:26SPEAKER_07: They dance along with it and stuff.
- 1:15:28SPEAKER_07: I mean, I was like, this is this is ain't nothing but a G thing.
- 1:15:32SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 1:15:33SPEAKER_11: Who grew up?
- 1:15:36SPEAKER_07: What is happening?
- 1:15:37SPEAKER_07: What is a world?
- 1:15:37SPEAKER_07: What world do we live in when Snoop Dogg is doing kids' cartoons for daily affirmations?
- 1:15:44SPEAKER_07: Why not?
- 1:15:46SPEAKER_07: Ice Cube is an actor.
- 1:15:48SPEAKER_07: Ice T is now an actor.
- 1:15:51SPEAKER_07: Snoop Dogg is like at the Olympics.
- 1:15:54SPEAKER_07: And he's making kids' cartoons.
- 1:15:59SPEAKER_07: These guys were South Central! Crips in the blood! What is happening?
- 1:16:08SPEAKER_11: It's an upside-down world.
- 1:16:12SPEAKER_07: It is so funny to think about.
- 1:16:15SPEAKER_11: Alright, I'm gonna take my headphones off.
- 1:16:16SPEAKER_11: I'm gonna climb the wall.
- 1:16:18SPEAKER_11: And see if you can guess the band.
- 1:16:20SPEAKER_11: Alright.
- 1:16:20SPEAKER_11: Alright, so here I go.
- 1:16:22SPEAKER_11: Don't look at it.
- 1:16:23SPEAKER_07: You're doing your thing, man.
- 1:16:24SPEAKER_07: Don't look.
- 1:16:25SPEAKER_07: This uh this week's uh uh beverage is brought to you by Fiji.
- 1:16:31SPEAKER_07: Artesian Natural Artesian water.
- 1:16:34SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 1:16:35SPEAKER_07: It's a product of it actually, according to the label, it's actually from Fiji.
- 1:16:40SPEAKER_11: And I I did hear that next year's Super Bowl halftime show is going to be an artesian halftime show.
- 1:16:46SPEAKER_11: Hold on still going.
- 1:16:50SPEAKER_11: Still going! All right, I have an album.
- 1:16:55SPEAKER_11: I have the guessing beginning.
- 1:17:00SPEAKER_07: Okay.
- 1:17:00SPEAKER_07: Ah, is the band?
- 1:17:01SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 1:17:02SPEAKER_07: Rock band?
- 1:17:03SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 1:19:13SPEAKER_11: But in the late eighties, early nineties, they had a kind of a comeback.
- 1:19:23SPEAKER_11: I gave it away.
- 1:19:24SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 1:19:24SPEAKER_11: Uh they had a comeback uh with permanent vacation.
- 1:19:27SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 1:19:28SPEAKER_11: And um pump and get a grip.
- 1:19:30SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 1:19:31SPEAKER_11: Uh the album I chose is actually a collection.
- 1:19:34SPEAKER_11: Young Lust.
- 1:19:36SPEAKER_11: The Aerosmith Anthology.
- 1:19:38SPEAKER_07: That's a naughty picture.
- 1:19:39SPEAKER_11: It's a naughty picture.
- 1:19:41SPEAKER_11: Uh it's not that naughty.
- 1:19:43SPEAKER_11: Nah.
- 1:19:44SPEAKER_11: So you know.
- 1:19:45SPEAKER_11: Um, but this uh I'm lonely.
- 1:19:51SPEAKER_11: This uh this album well, these two, it's a two-disc collection.
- 1:19:57SPEAKER_11: Um, and it's really uh kind of uh mixes both eras.
- 1:20:05SPEAKER_11: Uh does this even have Yeah, see this doesn't have the really early stuff.
- 1:20:11SPEAKER_11: Yes it does.
- 1:20:12SPEAKER_11: No, it doesn't.
- 1:20:14SPEAKER_07: Yes, it doesn't.
- 1:20:14SPEAKER_07: No, it doesn't.
- 1:20:15SPEAKER_07: Never mind.
- 1:20:16SPEAKER_11: Uh of course we go from this one of my favorite Aerosmith songs.
- 1:20:24SPEAKER_11: I just love the red.
- 1:20:25SPEAKER_00: Wake up, kids, it's half past the youth ain't nothing really changed about the dates.
- 1:20:29SPEAKER_00: And you were grand slammer, but you know, babe roof.
- 1:20:31SPEAKER_00: You gotta learn how to relate.
- 1:20:32SPEAKER_00: I've been swinging from the pilot gate.
- 1:20:34SPEAKER_00: I got old answers, and lo and behold, you got the right key, baby, but the wrong key hold.
- 1:20:39SPEAKER_00: Yo.
- 1:20:52SPEAKER_11: Eat the rich, by the way.
- 1:21:11SPEAKER_11: Great lyrics in this song as well.
- 1:21:14SPEAKER_11: This is from uh I wanna say get a grip.
- 1:21:18SPEAKER_11: There's one of those.
- 1:21:19SPEAKER_11: I think it was from Get a Grip.
- 1:21:21SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 1:21:22SPEAKER_11: Uh course they do a cover of a doors tune.
- 1:21:33SPEAKER_11: Love me two times.
- 1:21:34SPEAKER_07: Of course, you know, you gotta have a song with a harmonica because Steven Tyler's on Amazing.
- 1:21:39SPEAKER_11: Awesome, awesome, awesome harmonica play.
- 1:21:41SPEAKER_11: Awesome.
- 1:21:42SPEAKER_11: Uh the orchestral version of Amazing, which I think was also on Get a Grip.
- 1:21:48SPEAKER_11: Not the orchestral version, but the song itself.
- 1:21:56SPEAKER_00: Get the right ones out!
- 1:21:58SPEAKER_11: Oh, I got a little uh Let the Wrong Ones out rock and roll tidbit for you.
- 1:22:03SPEAKER_11: Maybe I've told you this, I don't know.
- 1:22:05SPEAKER_11: This is a great song.
- 1:22:06SPEAKER_11: Uh Let the Music Do the Talkin', which actually was a Joe Perry project song when uh he left the band.
- 1:22:14SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 1:22:15SPEAKER_11: And when he came back, Aerosmith did it with Steven Tyler on vocals.
- 1:22:20SPEAKER_07: So this is sounds like Highway Star if you're not paying attention.
- 1:22:29SPEAKER_07: A little bit.
- 1:22:40SPEAKER_11: See, I uh after get a grip, I think I lost touch with Aerosmith.
- 1:22:43SPEAKER_11: Yeah, me too.
- 1:22:44SPEAKER_07: Uh it all started sounding the same.
- 1:22:46SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 1:22:47SPEAKER_11: So yeah.
- 1:22:49SPEAKER_11: Uh let's say, well, of course.
- 1:22:52SPEAKER_11: This is the run DMC version.
- 1:22:55SPEAKER_07: This kind of brought them back.
- 1:22:57SPEAKER_11: Oh yeah.
- 1:22:58SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 1:22:58SPEAKER_11: This was the beginning of their comeback, sure.
- 1:23:22SPEAKER_11: Alright, I'm gonna show you something.
- 1:23:25SPEAKER_11: I'm not sure if I've told you this before or not.
- 1:23:28SPEAKER_11: So let's see if it I'm not sure if this is the song.
- 1:23:33SPEAKER_11: It is.
- 1:23:34SPEAKER_11: Okay.
- 1:23:34SPEAKER_11: So the title cut from their comeback album is called Permanent Vacation.
- 1:23:38SPEAKER_11: Right.
- 1:23:39SPEAKER_11: Uh so here's the riff, the beginning of Permanent Vacation.
- 1:24:10SPEAKER_11: Okay, so a former band of mine, I stole that riff and reversed it.
- 1:24:16SPEAKER_11: Oh, did ya?
- 1:24:17SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 1:24:17SPEAKER_11: So this is my song.
- 1:24:31SPEAKER_11: I did not know this.
- 1:24:33SPEAKER_11: Just that, just that riff.
- 1:24:34SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 1:24:34SPEAKER_11: So it's uh it's just backwards.
- 1:24:36SPEAKER_11: Yep.
- 1:24:36SPEAKER_11: I just took the same riff and just played it backwards.
- 1:24:38SPEAKER_11: Noise.
- 1:24:40SPEAKER_11: And uh it worked.
- 1:24:44SPEAKER_11: That is not me singing.
- 1:24:48SPEAKER_11: However, I did write that song.
- 1:24:50SPEAKER_11: True story.
- 1:24:51SPEAKER_11: True story.
- 1:24:52SPEAKER_11: Okay, so there you go.
- 1:24:53SPEAKER_07: That is uh Well one of the mine of mine of my favorite uh like new Aerosprise Shut Up and Dance.
- 1:25:02SPEAKER_07: Oh yeah.
- 1:25:02SPEAKER_07: Such a great song.
- 1:25:04SPEAKER_07: From the uh from Wayne's World 2, I think.
- 1:25:06SPEAKER_07: Uh nope.
- 1:25:07SPEAKER_07: But it was on Wayne's World 2, that's what I'm saying.
- 1:25:10SPEAKER_07: Are you sure?
- 1:25:10SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 1:25:11SPEAKER_07: Because I think I remember it was on an album, but I mean it was it was in the movie.
- 1:25:15SPEAKER_11: Are you sure it was Wayne's World?
- 1:25:17SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 1:25:18SPEAKER_11: Positive?
- 1:25:18SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 1:25:19SPEAKER_11: Because I remember it from a different movie.
- 1:25:24SPEAKER_11: Let's see if I can get it here.
- 1:25:27SPEAKER_11: Uh and maybe I'm thinking of a different song, but I don't think so.
- 1:25:32SPEAKER_11: Uh let's see.
- 1:25:33SPEAKER_11: You said shut up and dance.
- 1:25:34SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 1:25:35SPEAKER_11: Do I have that?
- 1:25:36SPEAKER_11: Yes, I do.
- 1:25:39SPEAKER_11: No, you know what it's from.
- 1:25:41SPEAKER_11: It's Ace Ventura.
- 1:25:44SPEAKER_11: When he's running around the track.
- 1:25:46SPEAKER_07: Oh yeah, yeah.
- 1:25:48SPEAKER_11: Was it also in Wayne's room?
- 1:25:49SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 1:25:49SPEAKER_11: Yeah, okay, so I don't remember.
- 1:25:50SPEAKER_07: It was it was it was the song they did at the uh at Wayne Stock.
- 1:25:56SPEAKER_11: So wait a second.
- 1:25:57SPEAKER_11: Was this the one in Ace Ventura?
- 1:25:58SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 1:25:59SPEAKER_07: There was it was an aerospace song.
- 1:26:02SPEAKER_07: I'm pretty sure it was this one.
- 1:26:04SPEAKER_07: Yeah, I'm pretty sure it was too.
- 1:26:08SPEAKER_07: When he's going around trying to get all the Super Bowl rings.
- 1:26:18SPEAKER_11: On his head.
- 1:26:21SPEAKER_11: I still desperately want to show my my 11-year-old that movie.
- 1:26:25SPEAKER_07: Do you remember when we got that movie?

- 1:26:32SPEAKER_07: Oh, yeah.
- 1:26:33SPEAKER_07: For I think an entire summer.
- 1:26:36SPEAKER_11: And my wife still can't understand it.
- 1:26:38SPEAKER_11: Really?
- 1:26:38SPEAKER_11: Yeah, she can't she still doesn't uh I still love that movie so much.
- 1:26:44SPEAKER_11: Yeah, it's it just either.
- 1:26:54SPEAKER_11: It was a little weird.
- 1:26:55SPEAKER_07: It was a little more out there, but it was still pretty good.
- 1:26:58SPEAKER_11: My favorite part is to watch uh Courtney Cox try not to laugh.
- 1:27:02SPEAKER_11: Oh, I know.
- 1:27:03SPEAKER_07: When he's doing the uh football football guy where he bangs his head.
- 1:27:06SPEAKER_07: Well, you if you if you watch it, when he bangs his head into the bench, you can see the doctor start to laugh and then they cut it.
- 1:27:12SPEAKER_11: Yeah.

- 1:27:14SPEAKER_07: Let's let's see that again.

- 1:27:18SPEAKER_07: Yeah, Courtney.
- 1:27:19SPEAKER_07: She has to like cover her face.
- 1:27:21SPEAKER_07: Yes.
- 1:27:22unknown: Oh.
- 1:27:23SPEAKER_07: Because you know he made a lot of that stuff off.
- 1:27:25SPEAKER_07: Of course he did.
- 1:27:25SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 1:27:26SPEAKER_11: Of course he did.
- 1:27:26SPEAKER_11: I think he does that on all his movies.
- 1:27:28SPEAKER_11: I think he does.
- 1:27:29SPEAKER_07: He has to, man, because the guy's.
- 1:27:30SPEAKER_11: Yeah.
- 1:27:31SPEAKER_11: Anyway, uh, that's it.
- 1:27:33SPEAKER_11: That's it.
- 1:27:34SPEAKER_11: That's it.
