- 0:00There was multiple typhoons and cyclones.
- 0:02Wow. There's a whole weather front
- 0:04coming in. This week on that car show,
- 0:10Danny P is back and he's on fire.
- 0:13I drive a very special Porsche 9/11 R and an even more special
- 0:17Alcoholics GTA R Lindsay gets behind the wheel of both the new
- 0:22Toyota Land Cruiser and it's upscale sibling, the Lexus
- 0:25GX550. And Dan writes A heavily edited
- 0:28magazine article and takes a Spyder Rs to Radwood plus the
- 0:33$1,000,000 Ferrari Luche. Our thoughts on that Ducktail,
- 0:36the GT3. We share our That Car Show Car
- 0:39Week auction preview and we revisit a little segment we call
- 0:43if we Ran Porsche. This is a fun one.
- 0:46The gang is all here and it's that car show.
- 0:53So welcome to this week's That Car show.
- 0:55And in a week where one car manufacturer lost 60% of its
- 1:00share value because of potential bankruptcy, where Porsche were
- 1:05down 21% year on year in car sales and Polestar have had to
- 1:10issue a fire sale, it's our job to bring a ray of sunshine to
- 1:15everyone's everyone's lives. So it's not quite as bad as it
- 1:18kind of I doubt to be, but how are we doing guys?
- 1:22So happy to see you both and happy to be here.
- 1:24How about you guys? How about them cars?
- 1:27Right. Look at them here.
- 1:30Good news. Support you, Larry, is that
- 1:32they're actually up 19 percent on 9 elevens.
- 1:34You're on you. So it's not all, you know,
- 1:38whatever the right word is, it's not all doom and gloom.
- 1:41It's not all take hands and loose A's.
- 1:45Yeah. What have we been up to?
- 1:47Maybe I'll start because it's been a while.
- 1:49Yes. I went to Radwood, Radwood in
- 1:54the Pacific Northwest. So I don't know if you guys, you
- 1:56guys are familiar, right? This is the 80s and 90s event
- 2:00that is owned now by Haggerty. Yeah, right.
- 2:03Friend of the show Art runs it and it was at Griot's Garage
- 2:08which is down in Tacoma. My good friend Jeff Jones picked
- 2:12me up in his Spider Rs and we created.
- 2:15That car, by the way, that's like, that's a very good example
- 2:18of a Spider Rs Jeff, so. Why, it's even more so.
- 2:22He probably should kill me for saying this.
- 2:23So he's upgraded to stereo, he's got a new exhaust coming, and
- 2:29then maybe something soon happening to the cosmetics of
- 2:31the car, but I won't give too much.
- 2:32Away. OK, so watch this space, Yeah,
- 2:35for Jeff's updates. Huh.
- 2:37Yeah, it's becoming coming the most loved spinner Iris there
- 2:41is, I think on the market. But yeah, he's got some smart
- 2:44ideas for cosmetics. Taking a note out of the STS
- 2:47book, but I won't give any more away because that's now that
- 2:51car. I don't know if you guys have
- 2:52been in that car, but it has the air intakes by your ears.
- 2:56So either side of the the engine gets fed with air right by your
- 3:00right ear of your passenger or your left ear if you're if
- 3:03you're the driver and it makes some great noises.
- 3:06So, so it was fun cruising down in that right.
- 3:13There was no parking because it was all all full for 80s and
- 3:1790s. So we had to like do a bit of a
- 3:19shortcut and, and find some parking.
- 3:22What sort of stuff would you expect to see at 80s and 90s?
- 3:25And I'll let you know if it was there.
- 3:28Deloreans. 30M Threes. Yes, lots of E30M threes.
- 3:35And what's the what are the M5 of that era?
- 3:39I don't know the 28 E 28. There you go.
- 3:41E 28. Yes, there was E 28.
- 3:44I don't think I even know what a did you say Riata or Miata?
- 3:47Yeah, the Buick Riata, when I went the first time to Rabbit,
- 3:50there were like 4 of them. And I mean, that must be a a
- 3:54huge percentage of the Riata's still on the road.
- 3:56Surviving, yeah. I'm impressed all these years
- 3:59later. Yeah, I wouldn't know whether
- 4:01I'd recognise 1, that's probably.
- 4:03The US only car, yeah. Yeah, there was, and I don't
- 4:06think I've ever seen one in North America.
- 4:08Do you guys know what the Vauxhall Calibra is?
- 4:12I don't know if I know model. I feel like I've seen them, but
- 4:15I might not have realized that's what it was called.
- 4:19So this was, if you know the Cavalier, the Vauxhall Cavalier,
- 4:22you may know this was the 2 door coupe version and at the time it
- 4:26had one of the most coefficient drags of any car and it was one
- 4:31of those. But that's amazing.
- 4:33The one that really stole the show for me.
- 4:35Winner of the show. You can't go wrong with a white
- 4:38Testorosa, can you? That's like.
- 4:41No way. That's amazing.
- 4:43I mean, that is the definition of Radwood, isn't it?
- 4:46Right, right. So that was that was my winner.
- 4:502nd place, very close, was a yellow SAP 900 convertible
- 4:53turbo. Oh yeah.
- 4:56That's those two cars really sum up an era, sort of the beginning
- 4:59and the end, right of of that, you know, place and time.
- 5:03So. Yeah, now I know.
- 5:05So I have been to Radwood in San Pedro.
- 5:08I haven't made it to the Pacific Northwest 1 yet.
- 5:12They always have an SUV section. Were there any of those at this
- 5:16one? There there was.
- 5:18I wouldn't say it was a dedicated section for SUV's.
- 5:21There was a section for the GMC's.
- 5:25So they made the Cyclone and what was the other one they
- 5:27made? The typhoon.
- 5:29Typhoon there were there was multiple typhoons and cyclones.
- 5:32Wow. There's a whole weather front
- 5:34coming in at that point. Batten down the hatches, guys.
- 5:38Red was in. Before I.
- 5:40I don't think I've ever seen so many in one place, and I think
- 5:42there was like 6. Yeah, yeah.
- 5:45Again, I would imagine that's like a good percentage of the
- 5:47ones that are left. Right.
- 5:49Especially in the Pacific Northwest, you know.
- 5:51Yeah, yeah, that's pretty wild. That's cool.
- 5:54Were there any like Land Cruisers or Broncos or?
- 5:59It was a Broncosu. Cheaper.
- 6:02I saw a Bronco and I don't think I saw any Land Cruisers or you.
- 6:06Know. It's weird because you get
- 6:07selected. They didn't make it the event,
- 6:09sorry. Yeah, they were camping by the
- 6:11side of the road. What?
- 6:12Was I thinking of in LA that I think there was a sidekick like
- 6:17a? Suzuki Sidekick.
- 6:19Suzuki Sidekick. Thank you.
- 6:20That's a car that was everywhere.
- 6:22Like I don't know when I was in high school, right?
- 6:25And it's been years since I've seen one so.
- 6:28They had one at the event in LA and it was like it was such a
- 6:31blast from the past. Yeah, yeah.
- 6:34It's funny, I think you look for the cars you want to see, right?
- 6:38So there was probably like all the cars you've mentioned were
- 6:41probably. They just didn't register, Yeah.
- 6:43Yeah. So that was a fun morning,
- 6:46Saturday morning. And then we went on to the
- 6:48Lemay, which is the the Car Museum, and they had a German
- 6:52event on. Oh, how was that?
- 6:54So it, it was good. Lots of porches, as you'd
- 6:57imagine. It was interesting.
- 6:59I don't think, I think I saw 2 Mercedes in a field full of
- 7:02cars. Kidding.
- 7:04I just, it's, it was just, you know, people just don't have the
- 7:08Mercedes up here. Yeah.
- 7:09It's. Interesting.
- 7:10Why do you think that is? I mean, Pacific Northwest is
- 7:15dominated by Porsches especially because obviously a lot of them
- 7:19are a wheel drive, but like lots of M twos.
- 7:24If you guys know far the flywheel, Justin, he was there
- 7:28with his Rs 6. So there were two Audis as well.
- 7:32So not many Audis. They were in the minority.
- 7:35The others were all in for timing belt service.
- 7:38There we go. There we go.
- 7:41But yeah, it was good to see some folks that I hadn't seen
- 7:43for a while. And yeah, so that was a good, a
- 7:46good Saturday morning, a good way to kick off.
- 7:49Yeah, it was. It was good fun.
- 7:51So how about yourselves, Ryan? I think you've been driving some
- 7:54more rarefied cars, haven't you? I've been yeah.
- 8:00Our friend Tom Horan let me drive his new 9/11 R, which is
- 8:06sadly already moving on. But.
- 8:09But before it does. Incredible coming yeah, in its
- 8:13place. But so this is a really special
- 8:15example, you know, you know, the 9/11 R this was the car that
- 8:18Porsche came out was supposed to be the last manual Porsche,
- 8:21right? And it was basically the GT3RS
- 8:25engine of from what 20/14/2015 and effectively a GT3 touring
- 8:31body before there was such a thing, you know, as the touring
- 8:34that came along with the dot twos.
- 8:37Many of these cars were were white with red stripes or green
- 8:40stripes and a lot of silver cars.
- 8:43This was a really special car, not metallic black with black
- 8:47stripes. And this amazing, I'm going to
- 8:50forget the name of the the color, but a dark brown interior
- 8:53with with Papita inserts, just spectacular.
- 8:57I don't know, but you guys in the 9/11 R was never really a
- 8:59car on my radar. It I just didn't understand what
- 9:02people went on and on about this thing, right, Especially after
- 9:05the the the .2 touring came out. Well, I'm here to tell you that
- 9:09it is a very special thing. People seem to fall in one or
- 9:12two camps. People who have driven it
- 9:14either, yeah, it's kind of like a Touring, but a lot more
- 9:17expensive or Oh yeah, that's the greatest thing I've ever driven.
- 9:20And I'm I'm kind of in that second camp.
- 9:22There's something about it, you know, 500 horsepower.
- 9:26It's that that Rs engine. It's, you know, it's a manual,
- 9:29obviously. And it's got this, this really
- 9:32light flywheel that just gives the car completely different
- 9:35character. So you do get that rattle at
- 9:37idle. It was just it it it it felt
- 9:41like 600 horsepower, right? It just it it felt that much
- 9:45stronger even than 500 horsepower.
- 9:47Beautiful thing People who know know.
- 9:51I don't know if it's worth what they're trading for, especially
- 9:53in a spec like this right, which is quite a bit more expensive
- 9:56than your typical white and silver cars, but just a
- 9:59fantastic experience. It's just, I, I swear that that
- 10:02model, maybe because it was hand built in the way that the others
- 10:05weren't, like this was going to be the swan song for Porsche's
- 10:07manual. That thing is like a vault, even
- 10:09in a way that other Porsches aren't.
- 10:12Just just perfect shifting. You know, the, the the engine
- 10:15was strong, great ride, great sound, just a wonderful,
- 10:19wonderful thing. Yeah, I'm a fan. 9/11 R Drive
- 10:22one if you get a chance 'cause they're really wonderful.
- 10:25Thank heaven for friends who are generous with their keys, right?
- 10:28I I know, I know. Yeah, yeah, pretty incredible.
- 10:34If I could afford one, I would buy one.
- 10:35But last I cannot so. So thank you so much.
- 10:39Just it's our friend Tom. Absolutely.
- 10:42And then you get in, you know, yeah, versus the the touring,
- 10:45you know, is it worth, you know, twice as much or whatever?
- 10:48I, I, I don't know. But it does have its own
- 10:50character. The the touring is wonderful,
- 10:53but there's something special about the the 9 elevener.
- 10:55I guess you get what you pay for, right.
- 10:56And, and the market sort of figures itself out, yeah.
- 11:00You know, some of the stuff is they're intangibles, right?
- 11:02But but they're still worth something.
- 11:04And you know, any, any modern Porsche really, right?
- 11:07They're all pretty great, especially with the, the GT
- 11:09cars, right? It's just, you know, you're
- 11:12starting to, you know, the, the decreasing returns, right?
- 11:15I mean, once you once you get up there, but yeah, this was really
- 11:20wonderful. One of the best cars I think
- 11:22I've I've driven in recent, recent time for sure.
- 11:24So. You've gotten to drive some
- 11:26pretty fun stuff lately. So that's that's really saying
- 11:29something that this has sort of gotten under your skin the way
- 11:32it sounds like it did well. I'm going to tell you secret.
- 11:35I drove that car after I drove the Alphaholics GTAR.
- 11:40Now I've got a piece in Avantz magazine that's coming out in
- 11:43September, feature on the Alphaholics car.
- 11:46I've driven this before. It's a wonderful thing.
- 11:50Probably priced kind of in the same, you know, range as well,
- 11:53but couldn't be a more different car.
- 11:58It's awesome. It's special.
- 11:59I talk about in the article how it's like the 4th or 5th car for
- 12:01someone who's owned everything right when you really kind of
- 12:04get into the weeds with new stuff, new flavours.
- 12:06But but it was that 911 hour that I I really kind of fell in
- 12:10love with. So don't tell Tom.
- 12:12But yeah, they're historically significant because they paid
- 12:15for the development work for the Duty 3 Touring.
- 12:19I didn't know that. So, so yeah.
- 12:22So they were a premium so they could they could justify and get
- 12:26the money into the program for the GT3 Touring.
- 12:29So you know, when you look at historically buying these cars
- 12:32at auction, etcetera, it has a story to tell as well, which is
- 12:35interesting. That's pretty cool.
- 12:37But it's a similar price to the St. isn't it?
- 12:41So. Well, and it's kind of the same
- 12:44in the same spirit, right? You know that Rs engine, right?
- 12:47It just got that little extra Zing right then then you know
- 12:51the standard one. And so I've not driven the St.
- 12:54have either of you, I mean we need to make this happen if.
- 12:57Not no, we do. Not I imagine that thing's also
- 13:00pretty wonderful. So.
- 13:01Yeah, that's the recipe right there.
- 13:03Rs engine, no wing, manual transmission.
- 13:07Jobs are good as we would say. I got a question for you guys.
- 13:11What is right now the most popular in terms of demand new
- 13:17car on the market? So I was watching some YouTube
- 13:20algorithm and it showed me a top ten list of all the cars that
- 13:24are currently like they, they measure it in terms of days
- 13:28availability. And this has less than two weeks
- 13:31to talk across the US. Can you guess What Car it is at
- 13:34#1 and there's a link here. It's Japanese.
- 13:39It's 4 by 4. Lexus GX550.
- 13:44It's not. It's the Land Cruiser.
- 13:46So they sell approximately 7000 Land Cruisers a month at the
- 13:52moment. And at the moment in stock
- 13:54across the US there is less than 2000 available.
- 13:58So you, Lindsay, drove one the other week and you were raving
- 14:01about it. And everybody agrees.
- 14:06Yeah, but the Land Cruiser has an older, more grown up brother,
- 14:10doesn't it, in the Lexus family? And I think you've just got your
- 14:13hands on one of those, Lindsay. I did.
- 14:15That was the GX550, and it's funny that you say that because
- 14:18I was just talking to a friend who said they had been on the, I
- 14:23think it was the Toyota lot. Maybe they thought it was Lexus,
- 14:26whatever it was, they were saying this, but I didn't have
- 14:29enough details. But yeah, they were told by the
- 14:32dealer that they can't keep them on the lot and they can't even
- 14:35get them when they do so. Yeah, so I had the GX550, which
- 14:40is the Lexus version of the current Land Cruiser, which
- 14:44outside the US is the Prado. And I had the Overtrail edition,
- 14:48which is the more off road outfitted.
- 14:51It comes with tougher, you know, running boards, higher
- 14:57suspension, knobby tires. And it was, I did end up getting
- 15:03to take this one off road. That was my wandering route with
- 15:05the Land Cruiser that I did not have time to take it off road.
- 15:08And it was really interesting going into that car because when
- 15:13I drove the Land Cruiser I was raving about it.
- 15:16My whole family fell in love with it.
- 15:17I was like, I could absolutely drive one of these everyday.
- 15:20It fit my life very well. Super usable, lovely.
- 15:24All of this. Everyone kept telling me that
- 15:26week, wait to drive the Lexus. Wait to drive the Lexus.
- 15:31I think I told you that. You did too, Yeah.
- 15:33And because the only thing that I noted about the Land Cruiser
- 15:37that I would change is a slightly bigger engine, because
- 15:40you do hear the engine noise and it's not.
- 15:44Like 4 cylinder turbo versus. Cylinder, right, So you know, my
- 15:49my like ideal dream spec would be the Land Cruiser with the
- 15:53engine that's only available in the Lexus, the V6.
- 15:56So I got into the Lexus thinking like all will be solved, and I
- 16:00was surprised how much you still do here.
- 16:02The engine, given what everybody had sort of set me up to expect.
- 16:08But and so it was interesting because it it didn't feel like
- 16:12it was enough of a difference given the price increase where,
- 16:17you know, maybe you go get one that's a couple years old, Let
- 16:20somebody else take the hit if you really want the Lexus.
- 16:22But it felt similar enough to the Land Cruiser that I think
- 16:26you could get the Land Cruiser and be very happy with it.
- 16:29But I will say we did have a chance to take the Lexus off
- 16:32road and it totally transformed how we were feeling about the
- 16:36car. It was super fun.
- 16:38And the funniest part was we had gone up a trail.
- 16:43We were out in Riverside and took a trail there that we
- 16:47thought would go all the way through into Orange County and
- 16:49basically put us like not far from where we want to end up.
- 16:52But it was closed because of the fire danger because it's been so
- 16:55hot here. So we hit the gate, you know,
- 16:58closing the trail and went to turn around.
- 17:00The only other car that we saw on the trail that day and we
- 17:03were out there for a bit was another Lexus GX550.
- 17:07Really. Oh, really?
- 17:07It was. And it, we were just like we had
- 17:10the best time. The other driver got out, we got
- 17:12to meet them and chatted a little bit and I told him about
- 17:14the show and so he. Had the.
- 17:18Exactly. So he had the premium edition
- 17:22with off road tires. So I think it would be
- 17:26interesting to see how that feels like for daily use because
- 17:30I think that might be the sweet spot.
- 17:32If you want the Lexus, get the premium one and like maybe put a
- 17:36little bit of the off road stuff on it.
- 17:39Because when you think about it, unless you were buying it and
- 17:41you're going to be off roading regularly, which I would venture
- 17:45to say most of us are not, the premium is probably going to be
- 17:48a better experience day-to-day. And it's still super capable off
- 17:52road. So yeah, I think it's, I think
- 17:56it's a great option. It was interesting in the Land
- 17:59Cruiser, I had an adult and two kids in the back seat and in the
- 18:03Lexus it just worked out that I had two adults and a child in
- 18:06the back seat and it was a little tighter.
- 18:09Obviously everybody was bigger, you know, in the first scenario,
- 18:15everybody was like, this is fantastic, plenty of room.
- 18:17So it just depends on who you're carting around and what your
- 18:21lifestyle is, I think you know. Let me ask you, I think because
- 18:27so I I'm in Denver, obviously, so I'm at altitude and I drove
- 18:30both of these these trucks in the mountains.
- 18:33So, you know, I'm at 5280 or whatever here at my house and we
- 18:38were probably double that a lot of the time I was behind the
- 18:40wheel, both these cars and they, you know, I know turbos go a
- 18:44long way in compensating for altitude, power loss, this kind
- 18:48of thing. But I think why I like the Lexus
- 18:50even more, I think the distinction was even greater was
- 18:53here that that larger displacement engine fill fills
- 18:56in some of the the gap right between before you get into the,
- 18:59the turbo, right. That makes sense.
- 19:02I found the Toyota a little more on off and, and if you're up to
- 19:05me, I'm probably buying the Toyota just because it's cheaper
- 19:07and it's basically the same thing.
- 19:08And that kind of but, but there was something about that 6
- 19:11cylinder. I think we drive so few use 6
- 19:13cylinders anymore 2 everything's a, you know, a 4 cylinder turbo
- 19:17that you know, just but again, you know, the the land, the Land
- 19:21Cruiser is already pretty great. That was that was just, you
- 19:23know, that extra 10%, right? So yeah, no, I mean, I great.
- 19:27Vehicles, and they're everywhere.
- 19:29I think you'd be lucky to have either 1.
- 19:34You know, my sister and her family, we're in Colorado and
- 19:38they did some off roading and she's, it was almost entirely
- 19:41new Land Cruisers and FJ's. And you know, like that was
- 19:46really fun to see, especially having experienced both of the
- 19:49Land Cruiser versions and knowing that you've done that.
- 19:52So I think I don't think you could go wrong with either one
- 19:56of them. I think it's a matter of sort of
- 19:58fine tuning based on what you're going to be using it for and
- 20:02then, you know, go from there. Do you recall that the stickers
- 20:07and on both of those the MSRP in each of this?
- 20:10Yeah, that was the other thing that was surprising.
- 20:12So the Land Cruiser that I had, the sticker price was 70 and the
- 20:17Lexus that I had was 77. So that was another thing where
- 20:20we were like, there's really not like there wasn't a huge price
- 20:25difference if you really wanted the Lexus badging, you know,
- 20:28like if that was important to you.
- 20:30Like it's very accessible if you're already into the Land
- 20:32Cruiser territory. But yeah, they so they were
- 20:37closer together. But I think obviously when you
- 20:39get into like the premium on the Lexus, like the premium trim, it
- 20:43gets closer to 90 I think. Wow.
- 20:46Yeah, yeah, that's a lot of money.
- 20:48It is. So that's why I always say find
- 20:50whatever you want. Find one that's a couple years
- 20:53old with the CPO and it opens up a lot more possibilities.
- 20:59Yeah, yeah. Good trucks.
- 21:02Well, it might be easier to buy the Lexus in the minute, right?
- 21:05Based on demand, yeah. Yeah, 6 month of the six months
- 21:10of those. They're like the Charger EV,
- 21:11Dan, right? Right, there we go.
- 21:13Wheeling dealing at the Lexus dealership.
- 21:15But it sounds like the Toyota guys are actually putting Adms
- 21:18and and all that malarkey and just can't believe we're back
- 21:21to, you know, dealer fitted accessories.
- 21:25Like, you know, I didn't want the fluffy dice, but I paid to
- 21:28have it put in the. But the undercoating, that's
- 21:31where it's at. I mean, you know, it's worth it
- 21:33all. Day.
- 21:33Oh man yeah, if you get the premium undercoating they stand
- 21:36on one leg while they spray it on. 2 layers.
- 21:41Dealers say, what else have you been driving, Lindsay?
- 21:44Have you you've had any other cars?
- 21:46I have So I had what might be my favorite press car so far this
- 21:52year only because of the livery, shall we say it was.
- 21:57So I had a new Bronco. It was a 4 door big bend with
- 22:02the four Wheeling graphics. And so it was the sunset stripes
- 22:06and it just even sitting in the driveway, it made us smile.
- 22:10And I was talking to a neighbor and mentioned that I had this
- 22:14amazing Bronco and she's like, that's you.
- 22:16I've seen it driving around. I love it.
- 22:18It's so cute. And the day before it went back,
- 22:23it was, you know, yeah, I, I would venture to say it is cute
- 22:28and it is, it's just so cheerful.
- 22:31It's so happy. And it was, you know, I mean, I,
- 22:35you guys have experienced this too.
- 22:36Like, obviously whatever you just stepped out of colors your
- 22:41experience even initially or like at least initially when you
- 22:44go to the next thing. So I went from the Lexus to the
- 22:48Bronco and you know, we were talking about like engine noise
- 22:51or Rd. noise in the Land Cruiser and the Lexus and the Bronco is
- 22:55a very different thing. And but it, I think we noticed
- 22:58the wind noise in the Bronco a lot more just because it was so
- 23:01different from the Lexus. But the solution is you just
- 23:04take the tops off and then you're expecting the wind noise
- 23:08and it's so much more fun. So it was great.
- 23:13Like we ended up taking it to the beach and cruise down,
- 23:18cruise down PCH in Huntington with the tops off and the
- 23:21windows down and it was like, it does not get much better than
- 23:25being in the like sunset stripe Bronco on PCH.
- 23:30You know, like name a better scenario.
- 23:32I'll wait. I mean, that's in its element
- 23:36for sure. Yeah.
- 23:37Which engine was? It yeah, that is a good question
- 23:41and I am blanking at the moment. I will.
- 23:44So I think they do 2 two and a 27.
- 23:49I can. I can look it up if you guys
- 23:52want to chit chat about something else.
- 23:54I can tell you exactly. How it was.
- 23:56I just wondered what it was like on the freeway, like whether it
- 23:59was nippy and. It was, yeah, because we did
- 24:02some, like, running around picking up car parts, you know,
- 24:05just like in LA and Orange County.
- 24:08It was great. Like, great pickup, the
- 24:12throttle, you know, we never turned the radio on.
- 24:16We're having too much fun just enjoying the car.
- 24:20Yeah. We don't listen to the radio
- 24:23that much 'cause we're just we talk too much.
- 24:25No, I, I'm, I'm kind of with you.
- 24:27But in a vehicle like that, we're out cruising you.
- 24:29Know right like it had I thought to turn the radio on, you know
- 24:33when we're going to the beach like that would have been I
- 24:35mean, like do some Beach Boys on the radio but yeah even just
- 24:39around town it, it was great like super usable, comfortable.
- 24:47And that one is really special because the stitching inside,
- 24:51you know so the stripes are like it goes from red orange, yellow
- 24:55and there's like 5 or 6 different shades in the
- 24:57gradient. So inside the stitching on the
- 25:00seats is red, orange and yellow. And then the inserts on the
- 25:03seats mimics the stripes. And, you know, there's embossed
- 25:06horses and just all sorts of little fun touches that made it
- 25:11feel really fun. And it was like, if you want
- 25:15something that's going to lift your spirits, this is the car to
- 25:17go get in that like, paint job package.
- 25:23So yeah, I will look up the engine.
- 25:25Nice. Walk amongst yourselves.
- 25:27Here we go. Well, while you're looking at
- 25:29the engine, so Ryan, you alluded to it, but I think you've got
- 25:32two articles coming out. Yeah, in Advance and I will just
- 25:36give a quick plug. I'm showing the latest version
- 25:39of Advance with the Curry GT and yellow on the front.
- 25:41Yeah, because I've got an article in that one.
- 25:44And it's a very good article. That's kind of you to say.
- 25:47So it was heavily edited, but yeah.
- 25:51Stopped. Well, So what did you, what did
- 25:53you write about? I wrote about an off road
- 25:57experience last November when we went to SEMA and took two days
- 26:02and went through the desert. And yes, I talked to Carl, who's
- 26:07the editor in chief and said, hey, do you want the story for
- 26:10the the magazine? And he said, yeah, it's a
- 26:12different story. Would love that.
- 26:13So it's funny, like I, I, I sent him the, the article probably
- 26:18January, February of this year. And it's taken, you know, that
- 26:21long 'cause you know, Karl does a great job of having themes for
- 26:25each magazine episode and right, you know, making sure that
- 26:27everything's curated and, but, but Ryan, you've got 2.
- 26:31So you not just one, but two. But they haven't come out yet.
- 26:34They maybe be really heavily, we'll see, but no.
- 26:39No, sorry. But go check out Dan's article
- 26:41because it really is great. The photography is great.
- 26:43And you know, as an author, you want to put the reader in your
- 26:46shoes and and I felt like the article really does that.
- 26:50It was an adventure. It was AI mean.
- 26:52It was a yeah, I don't know. It was he.
- 26:54Took us along with. It I wanted to be there, it was
- 26:56cool. I know and they share that Ivan,
- 26:59who's the photographer. No.
- 27:00Well, and I realized they most that issue arrived at the house
- 27:05and I was flipping through it and I saw the title and I went,
- 27:08wait a minute, that sounds like what Dan did.
- 27:09And then I flipped to the article and realized it was your
- 27:12article. Like we got.
- 27:14Guys, it's so cool that we're in the circles we are because
- 27:17hardly a day goes by where I just don't run into a friend's
- 27:20article, whether it's the New York Times, whether it's a car
- 27:23magazine or car website, something like Avant's.
- 27:26It's just, and often times I don't catch it when I start
- 27:29reading it like this. This sounds kind of, you know,
- 27:31like someone I know. And then I go up, up, you know,
- 27:34back up and see the author and you know, it's, it's, it's
- 27:36pretty cool. It's pretty cool.
- 27:38And there's something about print too, right?
- 27:40To see your name in print, to see your piece in print, that's
- 27:42special. So plug.
- 27:45For a. Yeah, yeah.
- 27:48And then this next issue with my two articles is September 15th,
- 27:51I believe. So we'll, we'll, you know, we'll
- 27:54look for that when it comes up. But one's on Bruce Meyer, which
- 27:56I think we've talked about the others on Tom Horan's Alcoholics
- 28:00gtar, which is a hell of a car. It's really, really pretty cool.
- 28:04But much like your article, assisted in great part by
- 28:08wonderful photography. So can't wait, can't wait.
- 28:13Great opportunity. Avance Magazine is really,
- 28:15really on a. They do good stuff.
- 28:17On a great tear right now, so yeah.
- 28:20Well, they just had. Their.
- 28:21Classics on the green, Dan, did you get to go to that?
- 28:25I didn't know I was otherwise unavailable, but it looked very
- 28:29good. It's, yeah, I got to go last
- 28:31year and it's just, it's such a lovely event.
- 28:34It's at the Chateau St. Michel winery in Woodinville,
- 28:38which is on the east side of the greater Seattle area.
- 28:42And yeah, I mean, Chrissy and Adam, they just put together
- 28:46like such a cool collection of cars.
- 28:49You see some really unique stuff and it's lovely because it's
- 28:52sort of like going to the Derby. People dress up and they have
- 28:55sun hats and it's a very, you know, it's a more of a genteel
- 28:58cars and coffee. They would probably cringe at me
- 29:01calling it a cars and coffee. So, cars and wine.
- 29:05I helped exhibit of that show a few years ago.
- 29:09Did you? And yeah, and I moved to car
- 29:13onto the lawn and moved it around car parks and stuff, so.
- 29:18In essence, I guess it's. Long enough now that they can
- 29:20talk about it. So there were three cars that
- 29:23were shipped up from LA. One was a Ferrari F41, was an EB
- 29:27110 and one was a roof yellow Bird and.
- 29:30That's a trio, right? The keys were there and I was
- 29:34given the opportunity of one set of keys out of the three.
- 29:38So. So what'd you go for?
- 29:41Very good mind. I'm 6 foot 2 and.
- 29:44All right, I'll tell you what I'm going for.
- 29:46And I don't know that I would fit.
- 29:47And this is a whole other discussion, right?
- 29:49But as crazy as this sounds, I'm probably more likely to have an
- 29:54opportunity to drive a roof or an F40 before I would ever have
- 29:58another opportunity to drive an EB110.
- 30:00So EB 110 for me. Nice.
- 30:03And that's crazy. That was a well thought out
- 30:05well. But again, like, how lucky are
- 30:07we, right? I know.
- 30:10Which would you have picked? I would choose the F40.
- 30:16Interesting. So my decision was based on
- 30:20would I fit in the car and how many of them were made.
- 30:24And when you look at the F40I think there's over 2000.
- 30:29When you look at the EB110, I think it's around 500.
- 30:34It's definitely 6 figures. Sorry, three figures.
- 30:38My math's not good. Tonight there were 29 roof
- 30:40yellow birds and not all were yellow so I took the roof.
- 30:46Yeah, that was. That's the one I want to take
- 30:47home, don't get me wrong. Right, right.
- 30:50That's a very good car. And you're saying there's a
- 30:52higher likelihood of that? Well, now he's writing with
- 30:59Bruce. Maybe Bruce will lend him his
- 31:01his yellow bird #1. If you have an open spruce spot,
- 31:05right? Yeah.
- 31:07Yeah, yeah, very good. Shall we talk about some rumours
- 31:11and ideas that we've seen in the press?
- 31:13Yes. Sir.
- 31:14Let's move on a little bit, right?
- 31:15Let's. Talk with Shall I quickly answer
- 31:17the question so we can close the loop on the bar?
- 31:19Oh, sorry, yeah no, you're good. It was a 2.3 litre EcoBoost
- 31:24engine. OK, so that's the lower powered
- 31:26one. And you're saying it was still
- 31:27pretty? It was perfect, pretty nippy.
- 31:30Yeah, Yeah. Like no lag getting on the
- 31:32freeway. It was interesting because the
- 31:33throttle, you know, some throttles are heavier than
- 31:37others. This one was kind of middle of
- 31:39the road. It was solid, but not enough
- 31:42where you're like, OK, my leg's going to get tired on a road
- 31:44trip. No.
- 31:46So highly recommend. Yep.
- 31:49We do all right. I certainly do.
- 31:54So I was, I don't know if you guys have seen this in the
- 31:56press, but Porsche is everyone uses the Nurburgring to test
- 32:00don't they? And some cars are more disguised
- 32:02than others. But Porsche are a test driving
- 32:06and prototyping a GT3 with a duck tail on the back.
- 32:11So I wondered whether it could be the new Sport classic because
- 32:18every generation they seemed to have a sport classic.
- 32:21The last generation was a turbo engines rear wheel drive manual
- 32:27car with a duck tail. But what else could it be?
- 32:31Did it have the double bubble roof by?
- 32:33Chance. I don't think it did.
- 32:35I'm still going with Sport Classic.
- 32:37I just, I mean, right, I think Mctell, you think Sport Classic
- 32:40so. It did have GT3 Touring written
- 32:42on the back, you know, on the engine Bay, but that, you know,
- 32:45they could put anything on it, right?
- 32:47Is that like a misdirection? Could be.
- 32:52It could be. I mean, Porsche have recently
- 32:54come out. The CEO has said that he intends
- 32:56to, you know, produce less cars but make more money on the cars
- 33:00they're producing, right? So maybe can we talk about that
- 33:04for just a second, I mean? Don't we all want to do a lot of
- 33:06work? I mean the, the right, that's
- 33:10the dream, right? But, but you know, I, I, this is
- 33:15when we need the new, I don't know, you call IT914924,
- 33:20whatever, right? More than ever, we need an
- 33:22accessible Porsche. Because even though those last
- 33:25718 Caymans, you know, even the base 4 cylinders, some of them
- 33:29were $90,000 before they stopped making the 718.
- 33:33You know, that's way too much money for 95% of America, maybe
- 33:37more, right? We need a, we need an entry
- 33:41level Porsche. I think that's the direction we
- 33:43should be going, but. It would be good.
- 33:45We don't run Porsche. None of us are going to
- 33:46complain. Right, here's the question for
- 33:49you Ryan. Would you buy a hypothetically
- 33:53an Audi that was like Porsche designed Audi.
- 33:57So in the same way obviously the Rs was Rs 2, they they put well.
- 34:04This goes back to the, the, the like even earlier, I think,
- 34:07right. I mean, there was the Volkswagen
- 34:09fox that was also the Audi fox. I mean, there was, and I think
- 34:12they made these mistakes before there was just too much, I don't
- 34:15know, incestuous stuff going on with Porsche, Volkswagen and
- 34:18Audi. And I think, you know, it burned
- 34:19them forever, right? So I don't know that they would
- 34:23ever do anything like that again.
- 34:24Dan, you know, like a like a you're talking about a basically
- 34:27a Porsche engineered Audi sports car.
- 34:30Yeah, yeah, in the same way they did it with the RS2, right?
- 34:33Yeah, yeah. The wagon they worked with
- 34:37Mercedes on the was it the E500? That's right.
- 34:42So, you know, if they did a Audi TT Porsche designed like, would
- 34:48that work to fill in that little gap you're talking about?
- 34:52It's interesting because I want both of those cars very much.
- 34:57This is some of these things. Let me get.
- 34:58Both and then I will tell you. Yeah, I mean, just wonderful
- 35:03cars, right? Although I've not driven either
- 35:05one, you know, I have a couple friends here in Denver who do
- 35:08have 500ES or E500. So maybe the RS2 is a little
- 35:11tougher to come by anymore. But yeah, I don't know.
- 35:15It's, it's, it's, I think it would be all in the marketing,
- 35:19right? And it would have to be amazing,
- 35:21right? It would have to look great.
- 35:22It would have to look great. It's that's a tough.
- 35:26One and drive great, right? Drive great, yeah.
- 35:28And. And.
- 35:29Ultimately. Yeah, like no excuses, right?
- 35:32No excuses. And the price point would have
- 35:33to be, yeah, first point would have to be like 60 or 70 grand,
- 35:38I would think, to make it make sense.
- 35:40Would it appeal to you Lindsay? Like the Porsche Designs TT.
- 35:48Knowing that it's. Engineering excellence.
- 35:52I think it's one of those things that you would end up you're
- 35:54like in theory it's great, but in practice people kind of go
- 35:58like, I don't know. And it's not like obviously we
- 36:04know Porsche does amazing work. Anything Porsche design is going
- 36:07to be great, you assume. But I think it's kind of one of
- 36:12those like Frankenstein monster things where you're like, it's
- 36:15too many things. Mishmash is kind of that's my
- 36:19gut reaction. But I mean if it really comes.
- 36:22Out people are going to take the Audi badge off and put a a
- 36:27Porsche badge. I think the the the alternative
- 36:30to that, though, is you have to go and find another brand,
- 36:33right, Because Porsche are not going to build that car that
- 36:36you're looking for. Ryan Yeah, I know.
- 36:38Not right now. OK, let me ask you this.
- 36:40Are you fans of this Nuvolari concept car that Audi's come out
- 36:44with? Because that's a love it or hate
- 36:46it proposition? Have you seen this thing?
- 36:48There's only 500 of them so but. What about a mini one of those?
- 36:51A mini Nuvolari. Well, I think we've seen that
- 36:53already, haven't we? We've seen that in the the TT
- 36:55Electric. Yeah.
- 37:00I I don't know it, it's such a weird like, again, I think
- 37:05they'd have to get it just right because anything short of just
- 37:08right and it's going to become the laughing stock, right?
- 37:11Yeah. Well, and I I think you hit the
- 37:14nail on the head, Ryan, like anything where you go well, it's
- 37:18it's almost a something. And so I'm just going to switch
- 37:20the badges. I feel like you've lost before
- 37:23you even start. If people are like, well, it's
- 37:26close. It's like what a lot of people
- 37:30experience with like replicas versus the real thing where your
- 37:34entire experience is people going like, well, but oh, is it
- 37:38real? And you have to say, oh, it's
- 37:39replica or whatever. I think it's one of the like
- 37:42where you go, oh, it's an accessible Porsche, but it's not
- 37:45really. And so then you end up in this
- 37:48weird limbo like. Here's what I'm afraid it's
- 37:54going to happen. Porsche really will follow in
- 37:56the path of modern Ferrari, right?
- 37:58Where there's not much in that modern Ferrari, price be damned.
- 38:02There's not much in the modern Ferrari lineup that I really
- 38:04lust after. The stuff I lust after are 350
- 38:07fives and 340 eights and five 50s and 57 fives and F 40s and
- 38:11that kind of thing. And I, I I'm just afraid that if
- 38:15if Porsche follows, I think, I think Ferrari should be going
- 38:19the other way. I think there should be a new
- 38:20Dino. We've talked about this before.
- 38:22Yeah, right. I I.
- 38:26It's not worth it. Money's out though, is it?
- 38:27I know, but that's so that's the problem because.
- 38:29That's the business problem. I know, but it wasn't always
- 38:32like that, right? You know, I'm working on the
- 38:35Colorado Grand car descriptions right now for the 2026 running
- 38:39of the Grand. And by the way, with some
- 38:41wonderful cars, just amazing stuff.
- 38:44Just amazing stuff. But one of the things I.
- 38:45Really love. I don't think anyone will get
- 38:49too mad if I say there are 4D types, Jaguar D types and 20 odd
- 38:55some Ferraris. But what's cool is, you know,
- 38:58some of these cars have a competition history when you
- 39:00talk about the D type, right? When you talk about, you know,
- 39:02something like a 250 GTO or whatever.
- 39:04And a lot of these people submit photos of the era and some of
- 39:08the photos are like the car rolling out of the factory with
- 39:11all the engineers and they're like white coats and they're
- 39:13taking pictures and they're smoking cigars and cigarettes.
- 39:16And it's just like there's a vibe, right?
- 39:18There's just a vibe. And it's special.
- 39:21Some of the cars, you know, are photographed in competition.
- 39:24And there's again, there's just there's something analog,
- 39:27There's something real that, you know, I know those days are are
- 39:30long gone, but it wasn't always about what it's about now.
- 39:33And I guess that's what turns me off.
- 39:35It's just you meet someone like, yeah, they're not for me.
- 39:40Right. And unfortunately, I, I feel
- 39:43that way about a lot of the stuff from Ferrari these days
- 39:45and increasingly the Porsche stuff, right when I saw that
- 39:48new, you know, 911 career T come out with wheels that we're
- 39:53hideous, right. The new GT3 touring has some
- 39:56funky bits. I don't know if you've seen
- 39:58Harry's garage, Harry Metcalf driving the thing where you
- 40:02know, I, I don't need to have a badge that says lightweight
- 40:06right on the centre stack. I don't need a sticker in the
- 40:08window that tells me it's a manual transmission.
- 40:10That's just Is ghost the word? You.
- 40:14Know not a German word, but you know, it's just I, I think we're
- 40:18just going in the wrong. Direction.
- 40:20Well, that was one of the complaints when the St. came
- 40:22out, right? Didn't it have a manual sticker
- 40:24in the window? And people were like, why do?
- 40:27Why would you do that? That's the first thing I'm
- 40:28taking off, Yeah. Yeah.
- 40:31Yeah. Is there a new car that you guys
- 40:34lost after? Because for me there is one
- 40:36Ferrari new I lost off. But before we get to mine, is
- 40:40there a a brand new car that you lost after for its looks?
- 40:48I mean it. Should be easy guys.
- 40:49This should be so. Easy.
- 40:51I know we have a special color pack on it, but.
- 40:55No, I was thinking I'm like, this is totally not the like
- 40:58type of car we've been talking about, but I mean, of course a
- 41:02defender. Here we go, an Octa.
- 41:05Yeah, right. Yeah, yeah.
- 41:08That or AG Wagon, although I don't love the interiors, but I,
- 41:11I think just as a thing, the G wagon's pretty wonderful.
- 41:14Yeah, you know, yeah. I mean, despite it all, I I'd
- 41:17still take a a GT3 or something but but yeah, you know what?
- 41:21I'd take a 9 and 1.2 touring before I take a 992.2 touring,
- 41:26so. You're like, I'll be generous
- 41:29and I will like. That old, like, are we at that
- 41:31point now where we just start buying like the old stuff right
- 41:34Where I mean the the oldies stations on the radio play the
- 41:37music of our youth. It's no longer the 50s and 60s
- 41:39stuff. It's, you know, the Gin Blossoms
- 41:41this. Is where?
- 41:44We're here guys. The first time you hear your
- 41:46music on the Oldies station is one of those like Touchstone,
- 41:49where you're just like, this cannot be happening.
- 41:52They don't call it the oldies though.
- 41:53What do they call it? It's it's.
- 41:55Classic now or something. It's not classic rock.
- 41:58I'm clearly not in the same demographic as you 2 I the the
- 42:03Ferrari 12 cylinder convertible. I just think that is one of the
- 42:06most beautiful cars ever made. You know, I would if I had the
- 42:10money, I would buy one tomorrow. It's it's that beautiful.
- 42:14I need to think a lot bigger is what I'm.
- 42:16Hearing it looks like a modern Daytona.
- 42:19Oh yeah, and I remember was it last year, the year before where
- 42:21they were everywhere at car week, at least the coupe, right.
- 42:25I don't know that it's beautiful, but it is it is cool.
- 42:28It's. Cool.
- 42:28Yeah, that's a good choice, Dan. Yeah.
- 42:31I need I need to think like a lottery winner rather than.
- 42:35AI mean you're going to need to be a lottery winner to put gas
- 42:38in an Octa. Yeah, it's easy to hate when it
- 42:42doesn't, when it's completely irrelevant, these choices,
- 42:45right? You know it's it's.
- 42:47Yeah, no, it's so I have heard rumours that McLaren will be at
- 42:53the quail and they will be unveiling a limited edition
- 42:56manual car. So following in the footsteps of
- 42:59Ferrari that obviously have just released a manual car.
- 43:03And if you think about it, car. Yeah, yeah, I mean, it's it's
- 43:08technical. Well, you can stall it, right.
- 43:09So I'm I'm calling it. Manual that's.
- 43:12That's my definition of a manual.
- 43:13I can install it, yeah. And I will.
- 43:16Right. And if you remember the three
- 43:21McLaren, Ferrari and Aston Martin around the same sort of
- 43:25time, like all got together and produced these these topless
- 43:30cars, didn't they? There was the the Monza SP3 or
- 43:34SP2 or something. There was the Elva and Aston
- 43:38Martin had one. So it sounds like Ferrari were
- 43:41first out of the gates. It sounds like McLaren are going
- 43:43to bring one to the the market. And I don't know if it counts
- 43:46but Aston Martin have got the Valor which is a a sold out 110
- 43:50builds manual car. Yeah, they're going to run out
- 43:55of V words. I'm just.
- 43:57Yeah. They're just going to start
- 43:58making them up. Yeah, it's didn't those, didn't
- 44:04those topless cars off, didn't they also also come without
- 44:08windshields, windscreens and. As I did.
- 44:10Some of them were refitted, right?
- 44:12You know, you couldn't give those things away at first.
- 44:15I wasn't, I mean. Car Week when the Monza was like
- 44:21debuted and they had a whole bunch of them that were moving
- 44:23around on Moss kind of. And you know, to the uneducated
- 44:29at the time, it was like, what is that?
- 44:31And why would you not want a windshield?
- 44:34Yeah. Goggles live and learn.
- 44:38You want to get that dirt around your eyes when you take the, you
- 44:40know, you roll to the club, right?
- 44:41The authenticity. They're goggles, right?
- 44:43Right. What's up?
- 44:45So we will watch this space to see whether the McLaren does
- 44:48come to the Quail. But if it does, you heard it
- 44:50here first. Yep.
- 44:51There you go. Yep.
- 44:52Yep, I think they will. I think 100% money's on that for
- 44:55sure. So we will, we will see Morgan.
- 44:59So Morgan, the great British brand, is bringing their car to
- 45:03market in the US. They because of restrictions,
- 45:08they're not allowed to bring what I would call the full fat
- 45:10version, and they have to bring a smaller engine car.
- 45:16Who buys a Morgan? You mean besides Jerry Seinfeld?
- 45:21Yeah. Does he have one?
- 45:23Yeah, he's a big Morgan enthusiast.
- 45:26Interesting. Our buddy Jason Meshnick, who
- 45:29who writes for Autoblog and other outlets, he had one in LA
- 45:32for a week, said it was the greatest car he's driven in
- 45:35forever. He said it was transformative.
- 45:38But I would put money that he had the bigger engine.
- 45:40I think he did. I think it was European, but I
- 45:44love, I love Morgan so much. You know, I mean, we've talked
- 45:46about this before, but I think it was last year's car.
- 45:48We were at Motor Lux and it started to sprinkle, you know,
- 45:52it started to rain and there was a man out there wiping down a
- 45:54car. It was a Morgan and he was the
- 45:56CEO of Morgan. I mean, give me one other car
- 45:59brand, right, that that would ever, ever happened with, right?
- 46:02So there's something just special.
- 46:04I would buy one. I really, I really would now.
- 46:06I think it's, that's a very like location dependent device,
- 46:11right? I mean, I think if you lived in
- 46:13like Carmel or something beautiful, I don't know if
- 46:16Omaha, NE, it's going to have quite the same appeal, right?
- 46:20Well, or like in the mountains, like would you have one in
- 46:22Denver? You know, I've never driven 1
- 46:26and I think, you know, that's again, a probably a car that's
- 46:291/3 or 1/4 or 1/5 car, right, Because is it the fastest thing?
- 46:32No, I mean there's a you know, it's it's got its lane that
- 46:36right, It belongs in and you know, it's it's I don't know if
- 46:39that would ever be my go to sports car, but it it was just
- 46:42as a tour. I mean, wonderful, right?
- 46:44Right. Well.
- 46:46Percentage. If you had the ability to have,
- 46:49you know, a fleet like, that'd be a fun thing to have in the
- 46:53fleet you. Had six cars?
- 46:55Sure. What percentage do you think you
- 46:57lose of performance being in in Denver?
- 47:01Like 2030% on a. Yeah, I forget what the
- 47:03algorithm is, right? It's always about the algorithm,
- 47:05but I think it's something like is it 2 or 3% for every 1000
- 47:11feet you go up from sea level, right?
- 47:14Maybe a little bit more. I think 2:00 to 3:00, two to 3%.
- 47:16Some engineer out there will, will, will call me out on this.
- 47:20So, you know, maybe at home I don't notice it so much.
- 47:23A little bit, you know, I've driven my car or you know, the
- 47:26equivalent of my car, you know, an Angela's Crest and feels like
- 47:29it's got an extra 50 or 100 horsepower.
- 47:32But you know, with that smaller engine that would be that would
- 47:35that would be tough in the mountains.
- 47:36I think, you know, on the grand there are a lot of cars, you
- 47:39know, again, this is generally, you know, 1916 earlier cars, but
- 47:42there are a lot of cars we just don't allow on because you know,
- 47:46they've got to climb 14,000, you know, foot passes or whatever it
- 47:49is so. I mean, it's a real
- 47:51consideration. This is the same weight as a
- 47:53Miata and it's 255 horsepower. So I.
- 47:59Enough. I'm not convinced Denver is the
- 48:01right market for it. Probably not.
- 48:03No, no. So, Ryan, you'll just have to
- 48:06leave it at your Malibu house, which is fine, yeah.
- 48:10That's true. Yeah.
- 48:14I mean, you have, you know, you have the right tool for every
- 48:17job and that is a good fit there and then you find some other
- 48:21stuff. But but there are people
- 48:23listening, and I know they are that have that at their.
- 48:26Disposal. Right, multiple homes with, you
- 48:29know, the the horse for the course or exactly right.
- 48:31And yeah, that would do the trick.
- 48:33And if there are people listening and interested there
- 48:35is a beta Configurator on the Morgan website.
- 48:40So I went and had a look and I think I put one extra on it and
- 48:43it was 100120K so. You said a a beater Configurator
- 48:47or a beta Configurator. We would call it beta, but beta
- 48:50tomato. Tomato, whatever.
- 48:53They were still sorting out the ironing out the wrinkles or
- 48:55something. Yeah, no.
- 48:57No. So it's not production fully
- 49:00right, but yeah, 120 K. So that's, you know, that's.
- 49:04I mean, that's a that's a Boxster 4.0, right?
- 49:07That's right. I mean, that's a or a spider.
- 49:10That's a yeah, you know what a Corvette ZR or not ZR1, but ZO6
- 49:14right. I mean, that's that's a.
- 49:16It's actually pretty accessible compared to like when you
- 49:19consider a lot of the stuff we talk about, that's much more
- 49:21accessible than I would have expected.
- 49:24Yeah. Yeah, so anyway, watch this
- 49:26space on that car. Week is shortly upon us and some
- 49:32things are new such as last week's show, you know, changing
- 49:36of the guard and that was a great show.
- 49:39By the way, guys, if if you guys haven't listened to it, who are
- 49:42listening today? There's a change in the guard at
- 49:45Pebble Beach and I think we got an exclusive right.
- 49:49We do. I think so.
- 49:51I haven't seen them in any other podcasts as as our friend Lynn
- 49:53Woodward would say, how about them apples?
- 49:55Right, so I imagine he'll start popping up on other shows now,
- 49:59but. I mean, they're going to notice
- 50:00that he was on our show. Yeah, he's awesome.
- 50:03He's like, he's like our age, you know, and he's like been
- 50:07handed the keys to this, this, you know, this thing, you know,
- 50:10we know and love and we love, but he's the guy to do it.
- 50:14He's he's awesome. Check out on last week's show if
- 50:18you haven't listened to it. It was a really great
- 50:20conversation and he was, yeah, he was super fun to record with.
- 50:24Yeah, new things at Car week, but there's also traditional
- 50:28things at car week. And one of the traditional
- 50:30things are the auctions. You know, it's, it's usually for
- 50:34a lot of the, the auction houses, it's usually their top
- 50:37auction. So the 1:00 where they're going
- 50:39to make the most money, the one where records are going to be
- 50:41broken, you know, it's a big deal.
- 50:44So we thought we would have a look at some of the highlights
- 50:47and maybe low lights of, of. So we've got a few picks of
- 50:53what's going on and, and generally speaking, if you've
- 50:56not been to Carwick and you're going this year, you can get a
- 50:59pass to go look at these cars at those auction houses.
- 51:02If you are credible enough to be a bidder, then they'll let you
- 51:05in for free. If not, I think they they charge
- 51:07a very small amount for you to go and have a look.
- 51:09So first up on the lot and I want you guys to keep your
- 51:12paddles down on this one. Don't worry, they wouldn't give
- 51:17me one, dear. RM Sotheby and I guess this is a
- 51:21tradition for Ferrari, is that when they have a new model, they
- 51:24tend to do like chassis 0 for charity.
- 51:29I really hope that this sells because it's for charity.
- 51:32But it's the very first Ferrari Luche Yeah, this is so who who's
- 51:39buying that? And I I've put in the comments,
- 51:41is it a rich person looking for a tax write off and wanting to
- 51:44save the planet? I.
- 51:48Mean I hope that person shows up.
- 51:52But there, there's 600,000 I think new, this one is a tailor
- 51:55made 1, so it's obviously bespoke, but like how much
- 51:59bespoke really is there going to be in that car?
- 52:01And then they're advertising it for $1,000,000, yeah.
- 52:04What is it? A special colour?
- 52:06It's what's, what are we, what are we dealing with?
- 52:08What are we working with? Oh, it's white.
- 52:10Worst. The worst color for Ferrari,
- 52:12generally speaking. That we Well, unless it's a
- 52:14testarossa Ryan. That's right, that's right.
- 52:17That's how much cocaine is in the dorsals of this luche.
- 52:21Not enough is the answer. Value add Yeah, I don't know.
- 52:26That's a tough one. I'm I'm sure someone will.
- 52:28I mean, you know, $1,000,000 is nothing to some so many of.
- 52:32You. Know there's a lot of yeah for
- 52:35charity. Somebody you know, some
- 52:38magnanimous individual will show up and help.
- 52:42Well, didn't think of 1,000,000 bucks for some sort of Corvette
- 52:45recently like maybe the 1st ZR1 or something.
- 52:47So maybe this isn't so far like the the gulf between sticker and
- 52:51Yeah and. Predictions.
- 52:53Although I think on the the ZR1 it's a slightly different story
- 52:58because I think it's Mr. Hendricks and he collects 01 of
- 53:01every GM car and he's got a big joke.
- 53:05So, but it could be there could be a Mr. Hendricks for for
- 53:08Ferrari, right? Yeah.
- 53:09I. Mean it'll always be 000 or
- 53:11whatever so. Yeah, I mean, we won't, we won't
- 53:14kind of lament this point long term, but like.
- 53:17But the new owner sure will. There we go.
- 53:21I wonder if this is a car that history is going to be kind to.
- 53:24So over the years, there's been various cars that just didn't
- 53:27sell when you weren't well received.
- 53:29You know, examples I can think of were the E30M3, the E36
- 53:35lightweight, the LFA when it came out, they didn't sell, but
- 53:40now there's there's a market for it.
- 53:42And, and I also think, and this is going to be most
- 53:44controversial thing I've said all year, I think the Cyber
- 53:48Truck at some point in the future will become a design
- 53:51icon. I watched a Harry's Garage video
- 53:54with the Bitsarini. Did you guys see that one?
- 53:56Yeah. So what interests me on this new
- 53:59Bitsarini was it was designed by Fabrizio Gagario of Ital Design.
- 54:04Very famous dry designer. He's designed all sorts.
- 54:09I know that the guy who penned the Enzo, the Cyber Trek is his
- 54:15favorite design and car. That's interesting.
- 54:17So, yeah, so that's Ken Okiyama. But Fabrizio turned up in a
- 54:24cyber truck. So these famous designers are
- 54:27all buying cyber trucks. So we won't limit on this point
- 54:31because it's, you know, we're not a big fan or I'm not a big
- 54:33fan of that car, but. But your prediction is.
- 54:38Funny. Classic.
- 54:41It's funny you mentioned 2 middle-aged men because you've
- 54:43you've seen the meme going around the Internet right About
- 54:47how? Have you ever seen a a a cyber
- 54:49truck? A cyber truck pull into a
- 54:51parking spot and a family gets out?
- 54:53No, it's always 1 middle-aged. Man.
- 54:57That's that's the target or that's that's who this thing is
- 55:00resonating. It it it's it's non design,
- 55:03right. What was that car you had at the
- 55:05Peterson Dan that that Demiro drove in one of his?
- 55:10The the low res. Yeah, the low res, I mean that
- 55:13is this car as production vehicle.
- 55:16Yeah. Right.
- 55:19I, I, I guess I'd have to look at the numbers to see if they'd
- 55:22ever actually be truly collectible, right.
- 55:24I know they're, they're only, they've only made a fraction of
- 55:27what they were predicting, but that's.
- 55:30Interesting. We'll revisit it.
- 55:31We'll put this this podcast in a time capsule and revisit it in
- 55:3520 years time and and and then we'll note that anyway, let's
- 55:40move on to some cool cars because we've done it with the
- 55:43electric stuff. Are you?
- 55:45Saying the cyber truck isn't cool.
- 55:47At the moment, in 20 years time, it will be right McLaren F1 GTR
- 55:54and this car is one of two short tailed development prototypes.
- 55:58RM again, having this car, I think it's going to be one of
- 56:01the biggest hitters of the week. They are quoting 35 million, but
- 56:06who knows? This car also belongs to Nick
- 56:10Mason of Pink Floyd, so it's got all the pedigree, it's got the
- 56:15famous owner, it's got the history. 35 million What are?
- 56:21You guys looking? For these.
- 56:23Days about 20. There's less than 100 in
- 56:27existence, so, but, you know, if you think about it, you've got
- 56:32Gordon Murray's legacy. His new cars are fetching stupid
- 56:37money. And what I mean by that is he, I
- 56:39think they're about 2 million, the 250 and one sold for eight,
- 56:44you know, so and it's just supply and demand.
- 56:47There aren't any more, but you know, so.
- 56:49Why do you think this took a minute to catch on?
- 56:52To catch fire? Catch fire is not the word we
- 56:55want to use the phrase you want to.
- 56:56Check literally and which we're thinking.
- 57:00But when those cars were announced, right, I don't think
- 57:04that they sold out immediately. There was some marketing going
- 57:07on by our friends at GMA. Some we're the recipient of
- 57:12those marketing efforts. And, you know, and, and that was
- 57:16what two years ago, I remember at Car Week, they, you know,
- 57:19they're really pushing them and, and they're already now trading
- 57:22for, for four times that. Yeah, that's why I think people
- 57:26realize how good a driver's car they are, right?
- 57:31And then you. One of the best.
- 57:33What else the stable of Gordon Murray is bringing out, right?
- 57:36It's a cheap car versus a 20 million car, right?
- 57:40They've got 4520 million cars, $20 million cars with the S1 LM.
- 57:46I thought you were talking about McLaren F1.
- 57:47Sorry, it was. But yeah, so that's going to be
- 57:52an interesting one to watch. RM Sotheby's, I hope it gets
- 57:57good money. And it's also interesting that
- 57:59Nick Mason has decided to sell that car.
- 58:02He also owns a 250 GTO, right? So.
- 58:05Famously. Yeah, yeah.
- 58:07So I wonder why he's decided now is the time to sell the McLaren
- 58:10F1. So Nick, if you're listening,
- 58:13give us a call. Let us know.
- 58:15We'd love to know. We'll help you sell it.
- 58:18Yeah, so that's cool. JDM there are two not one but 2
- 58:25when I started to do this research for this show, I
- 58:27thought, oh, there's a 1 of 44 Nissan Nismo 400R and then I did
- 58:32a bit more research and there's actually 2 because broad arrow
- 58:36and Gooding both have 10 funny. So it's.
- 58:41Just the the NSXR of 2026 it's auctions.
- 58:45But they made 400. Sorry 44 of the race inspired
- 58:50Rd. cars. Yeah, I don't know much about
- 58:57that. Yeah, you know, I mean, I'm just
- 58:58not a JDM, big JDM guy. So some of the, you know, some
- 59:03of the variants are lost on on me.
- 59:06That said, you know, last couple of years at car Week I've really
- 59:09started to pay attention to these cars and know a couple
- 59:12guys who are local. You have them and they're pretty
- 59:14wonderful. They're pretty great, right.
- 59:16Even just the the bog standard cars, they're so I don't know,
- 59:21this might be, you know, maybe these cars are worth it.
- 59:23I I just, you know, again, not for the casual.
- 59:31Yeah, the record for a JDM car at auction was a LFA with the
- 59:37Nurburg package. Oh yeah.
- 59:39And that sold for 1.6. What?
- 59:42And that's that's it. That is, that is the but that
- 59:46set the bar now that had a certain colour, right?
- 59:48Those were painted a certain. They did 2 colours I believe.
- 59:50I think it was yellow and black, I might be wrong.
- 59:52Definitely yellow. There were some yellow but it
- 59:55wasn't unique. Yellow.
- 59:56I thought it was for a long time.
- 59:57Yeah, they did a a second colour and they had a few more
- 1:00:00horsepower and 10 more horsepower, larger rear wing and
- 1:00:05there were only 64 of those in the world.
- 1:00:07Wow, so. Yeah, well, that helps.
- 1:00:10Again, that's a, I remember at the Chicago auto show, you know,
- 1:00:15whatever, was it 2012 or whatever, when those came out
- 1:00:18and they had a whole row of them and I was so impressed.
- 1:00:21You know, Chicago auto shows ten of these.
- 1:00:25Well, then it rises. Well, they just just hadn't sold
- 1:00:29right at the team. Yeah, I know at the time, you
- 1:00:31know, they they didn't really do anything for me.
- 1:00:34You know, the exhaust pipes and I don't know, they they just
- 1:00:37didn't quite look cohesive. But man, now they look great, I
- 1:00:41think. And that I mean that engine, if
- 1:00:42you've ever been next to 1, you know, at fire up, they they're
- 1:00:45they're a very special thing. So.
- 1:00:47There's a car Wow video that's just come out that is the
- 1:00:50Carrera GT versus the LFA. Saw that.
- 1:00:53Yeah. And I won't spoil it, but that's
- 1:00:55two V 10s that make great noises.
- 1:00:57So check out that. It's interesting because I think
- 1:01:00one of the reasons they've become more of a cult classic is
- 1:01:03a certain Mr. Clarkson said. It was the best car he's ever
- 1:01:06driven. That helps.
- 1:01:10Yeah, he's not an influencer, but he definitely is an
- 1:01:12influencer. We did say this is the best car
- 1:01:15podcast you'd ever. Heard he said that more than
- 1:01:17once, right? So it must be true, yeah.
- 1:01:21Pretty cool you. Know, yeah, he said.
- 1:01:22I hope those guys don't do a farming podcast because I'm
- 1:01:25screwed. That's right, put them out of
- 1:01:26business. Yeah, there we go.
- 1:01:28Let's go to meet him, Lindsay. A yellow Ferrari F50.
- 1:01:32Does that appeal? Actually, yes, yeah.
- 1:01:37So I would prefer a red, but I think the yellow is unexpected
- 1:01:41and fun. I will accept.
- 1:01:45I think you will find because it's 1 of 31, I don't know how
- 1:01:48many F 50s they made, obviously a lot less than the F40 and
- 1:01:53obviously it's the last manual. You know what was it?
- 1:01:58It was every 10 years they did a Halo card, didn't they?
- 1:02:01288 F, 40 etcetera. So I think because it's yellow,
- 1:02:06it's probably a special colour and it'll probably create more
- 1:02:08value. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:02:10That's what's a good investment. Yellow looks good on.
- 1:02:13Yeah, yes, yeah, it's a hit. Or mix colour.
- 1:02:16I remember being at car week one year and driving down the road
- 1:02:18and there were four F 50s coming the other way.
- 1:02:21Like that doesn't happen anywhere else in the world.
- 1:02:23About car week. No, Yeah, I have to.
- 1:02:26So we've had a couple of people, a couple of friends of ours come
- 1:02:28up to us recently and say, you know, I've never been to Car
- 1:02:31Week. I just, I don't think it's for
- 1:02:33me, you know, This is why this is for you, because you see
- 1:02:37things like 4 F 50s, you know, roaring past you because you
- 1:02:41don't see that anywhere else. I know I was just thinking about
- 1:02:44it today kind of in passing. And I think one of the things
- 1:02:48that a lot of people don't realize is like you just said,
- 1:02:52Ryan, you can just walk around town.
- 1:02:54You don't have to go to any events.
- 1:02:57And one of my favorite things has been like the first night in
- 1:03:00town, just go walk through Carmel, you see some
- 1:03:03unbelievable stuff on the street or just driving to the different
- 1:03:07events. Probably 3-2 to three years ago
- 1:03:11there was this Armada of the like 6 by 6 G, There were two
- 1:03:16six by 6G wagons and one of the the 2 door cabrio.
- 1:03:21And then there was another unique one, and they would move
- 1:03:24all four of them just around town.
- 1:03:26Yeah, Landolay I think was one of.
- 1:03:27Them, yes, it was. That's what it was.
- 1:03:30And, you know, they're just driving around town.
- 1:03:34Yeah, that's crazy. There are there is a bit of a
- 1:03:36shake up going on this year at the auctions.
- 1:03:39So traditionally Bonhoms have been associated with the quail
- 1:03:44and it used to be a bit of an inside baseball thing where you
- 1:03:47could actually park at the Bonhoms auction and get into the
- 1:03:49quail instead of having to do the the quail car park.
- 1:03:53That's now stopped and they have moved Laguna Seca.
- 1:03:59So they will be for the first time doing their auction at
- 1:04:01Laguna Seca. Obviously they have a a few race
- 1:04:05car inspired or race inspired cars.
- 1:04:08And the one that called my eye was a in essence, it's an indie
- 1:04:12race car. Volstead I'm not sure if I
- 1:04:16pronounced that right. Lindsay, I don't know if the
- 1:04:18you're the expert on classic American Ford race cars.
- 1:04:23I try. Or just say, yeah.
- 1:04:26And the reason I I called this one out is that actually it was
- 1:04:30Jim Clark's last US race car before the following year he
- 1:04:35passed. He raced Dan Gurney in an Eagle
- 1:04:39in it. That's cool.
- 1:04:41So it's a pretty cool car. And from talking to Gordon
- 1:04:45Murray, Gordon said that Jim Clark was the best racer he's
- 1:04:48ever seen. And he worked with Senna, Prost,
- 1:04:51etcetera. So yeah.
- 1:04:54That's pretty special. So.
- 1:04:57That's that's first person listeners.
- 1:04:59That's that's right. That's Dan just talking with his
- 1:05:01mate Gordon. The big Gordon, yes.
- 1:05:06So that means that there is a void at the quail that has been
- 1:05:09fulfilled by Broad Arrow. So Broad Arrow have now slid
- 1:05:13into the quail and their auction will be where, you know, where
- 1:05:17the bottoms tent used to be. And as I said earlier, they've
- 1:05:21got a 400R, they've got three singers.
- 1:05:25Like has the boat now sailed on auction Singers because it's
- 1:05:30getting over saturated? Possibly.
- 1:05:33I mean, if they have three of them and the same, that's
- 1:05:36interesting. Obviously all the singers are so
- 1:05:38unique that maybe it doesn't apply in that sense because
- 1:05:42they're all so different from each other.
- 1:05:46Yeah, it's hard to say. I mean, because, you know,
- 1:05:48they're, they're fundamentally wonderful creations, right?
- 1:05:52So you know, it's not all hype, right?
- 1:05:54They're, they're pretty wonderful.
- 1:05:56But I, I don't know, you know, I mean, there's, you can only pump
- 1:05:59out so many right before things do get saturated.
- 1:06:02And I don't know if like every time I open up LinkedIn, they're
- 1:06:05hiring people. It's, it's like I, I don't think
- 1:06:08they're planning on slowing down anytime soon.
- 1:06:10So maybe they have kind of hit a an inflection point.
- 1:06:14Or I think if you wrote back a few years ago, I'm sure that
- 1:06:18you'd look at the auctions of Car Week and there would be like
- 1:06:201 singer. Yeah, right.
- 1:06:22I don't remember there being multiple singers in any auction
- 1:06:26house, right? That's a few years ago, right.
- 1:06:28But well. It'll be fun to watch.
- 1:06:31Well, so, so Broad Arrow will be at the quail.
- 1:06:34So then will there be an auction associated with motor looks
- 1:06:39because that's where Broad Arrow has been in?
- 1:06:41The last few years, good question.
- 1:06:42I don't know. Yeah.
- 1:06:44Or has Motor Lux just sort of turned into this thing where,
- 1:06:48you know, I got the impression at least, especially last year,
- 1:06:51there was almost just too much going on in that space, right.
- 1:06:54And so maybe the focus wasn't a lot of distractions right from
- 1:06:59the auction, in my opinion. But you know, I I know Ken on a
- 1:07:03bit, you know, well, you know, he runs broad arrow.
- 1:07:05Maybe we should have him on after car week and and get his,
- 1:07:08his, his taken. Speaking of Mekam, we've got Sam
- 1:07:11Murtagh. He's the the chief operating
- 1:07:13officer of Mekam coming out next week.
- 1:07:15So yeah, car week focus for sure, but I, I'm very curious to
- 1:07:20get both, both his take and Ken's just on because how, how
- 1:07:24the the auctions are evolving, right?
- 1:07:26I mean, decisions like that aren't taken lightly, right?
- 1:07:30You don't just decide, oh, I'm going to move venues or
- 1:07:32whatever. I mean, this is very deliberate
- 1:07:34and and there's got to be a reason for that.
- 1:07:36I'm very curious how that all shakes out and why it all shakes
- 1:07:39out like it does. So.
- 1:07:41Yeah. Well, I mean that there is a
- 1:07:43little bit of history amongst these auction houses, right?
- 1:07:45Because the Amelia Island got bought by Haggerty.
- 1:07:49RM used to have premier spot, right?
- 1:07:53They used to have the best pitch there.
- 1:07:56And then one year, because Haggerty own Broad Arrow,
- 1:08:00Haggerty put RM in that position.
- 1:08:03And that is why we now have Moda down in Miami because RM went
- 1:08:09screw you guys. We'll do our own car event and,
- 1:08:12and this is well documented. So it's not like it's inside
- 1:08:14knowledge, so. Tell the people it is dude.
- 1:08:18Yeah, only on that car show, tell you. 1.
- 1:08:21But because you can next week you can ask about the yellow F50
- 1:08:26because they're they're starting that much many other cars.
- 1:08:30As far as you know, is RM at? Is it the Portofino?
- 1:08:33The hotel in Monterey again this year?
- 1:08:35I think so. It's like mixed to the
- 1:08:36Conference Center, isn't it? Downtown yeah that's kind of a
- 1:08:38special because that's got a completely different vibe right
- 1:08:41that's just each and I think that's the neatest thing each
- 1:08:43one of these auctions whether it's good and whatever each one
- 1:08:46is a completely different vibe right The carbs are a little bit
- 1:08:49different it's you know completely different venue so
- 1:08:53it's worth checking them all out if you can because you you're
- 1:08:55gonna. Yeah, because they are so
- 1:08:56different. It's not like, oh, if you've
- 1:08:58seen one, you've seen them all. Like you said, like the
- 1:09:00Portofino has that wonderful outdoor kind of motor court
- 1:09:04where they can display them and you know, the other ones have
- 1:09:07all it's, it's very different, but cool and it's 1.
- 1:09:11Pro tip, go to the far reaches of these auctions, see what's
- 1:09:14tucked away in the far corners, and you're going to see some of
- 1:09:17the most interesting stuff. So nice.
- 1:09:20Yeah, maybe not the prettiest stuff.
- 1:09:22Or the. And then Gooding just to round
- 1:09:24that off Gooding at it's good and Christy and they, they are
- 1:09:28actually on the golf course next to the golf course.
- 1:09:31So there's almost like a little village that gets built up
- 1:09:33during car week and that's where they're located.
- 1:09:35So if you go and watch the car tour, which I think is on the
- 1:09:40Thursday, Thursday, you can go into Gooding at that point.
- 1:09:46So all the cars that are going to be on the lawn on the Sunday
- 1:09:48get go on a rally, basically 17 mile drive.
- 1:09:53And that's the prime location for where Gooding are.
- 1:09:55So you can go watch the cars leave and then go into Gooding
- 1:09:58and have a good look around. Good Thursday itinerary.
- 1:10:05Yes, yes. And then check out some of the
- 1:10:07houses, right? That's the other thing to go on
- 1:10:09the first day, go to the Range Rover house or yeah, the BMW
- 1:10:13house. Yeah, should be so lucky.
- 1:10:15Right. Yeah, again.
- 1:10:18I can't wait. I'm really looking forward to
- 1:10:20it. It's it's now.
- 1:10:21I've done it a couple of times. It's under my skin.
- 1:10:23It'd be very difficult to not. Yeah.
- 1:10:26It's. Well, I think we're at a show,
- 1:10:30aren't we? I think so.
- 1:10:32Good, good God we are. We're way over an hour.
- 1:10:34Time flies when you're having fun.
- 1:10:36Well done. Exactly.
- 1:10:37It's. Good to have you back.
- 1:10:38I know. Yeah, it's good to be back.
- 1:10:40And yeah, it's. Let us know what you think about
- 1:10:45the auction cars. Let us know if you're crazy
- 1:10:47enough to be bidding on a Ferrari.
- 1:10:49Lucci, Maybe we want to unfriend you on LinkedIn.
- 1:10:55We want to be making informed decisions around here, right?
- 1:10:58Yeah, but yeah, I guess Lindsay, take us out with a phrase that
- 1:11:02pays. All right.
- 1:11:03Well, thank you so much for listening.
- 1:11:06We appreciate everybody being here and liking subscribing and
- 1:11:11sharing the show with your enthusiast friends.
- 1:11:14We always appreciate a five star review, of course, and remember
- 1:11:17to always be driving. And until next week, we're that
- 1:11:20car show.
