Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Uh time for the radio from hell x Pole.
- 0:03Speaker 2: You're being polled.
- 0:05Speaker 3: You have to participate.
- 0:06Speaker 4: Answer the simple question what do you have in your
- 0:10Speaker 4: house that is unusual that most people don't have? Something
- 0:14Speaker 4: that is unique to you or your house, or you know,
- 0:17Speaker 4: something that you think, I bet nobody else has this
- 0:19Speaker 4: in their house. Can be an item, you know. I
- 0:22Speaker 4: was going to mention the torture chamber down in the basement,
- 0:25Speaker 4: but then.
- 0:26Speaker 1: Other people have this, but I did have. There was
- 0:29Speaker 1: a really.
- 0:29Speaker 4: Unusual feature in my house which is no longer there,
- 0:33Speaker 4: but when we bought it, there's a So you go
- 0:37Speaker 4: in the front door and you'll you're immediately facing uh
- 0:40Speaker 4: stairs that go up to the second level and so
- 0:44Speaker 4: and it's a it's two flights of stairs, so you
- 0:46Speaker 4: walk up when there's a landing, and then then you
- 0:50Speaker 4: turn to the left and go up another little flight
- 0:52Speaker 4: of stairs to get to the second floor. What used
- 0:55Speaker 4: to be there was another set of stairs in the
- 0:59Speaker 4: kitchen which went up to that landing, so you could
- 1:02Speaker 4: go from the kitchen and walk up a short flight
- 1:06Speaker 4: of stairs to the landing there. Now we actually took
- 1:10Speaker 4: that out because there was no way to get into
- 1:12Speaker 4: the basement except for outside, you'd have to go through
- 1:15Speaker 4: the outside door. So we took those stairs out and
- 1:18Speaker 4: pointed them down so that they would go down into
- 1:20Speaker 4: the basement, which seemed more prep But it was just a.
- 1:24Speaker 3: Now that's a feature of your house.
- 1:25Speaker 4: It was a weird little thing, and I think it
- 1:27Speaker 4: was for people for going from the kitchen to take
- 1:31Speaker 4: things up to the bedroom or up to the up
- 1:33Speaker 4: to the one of the bedrooms upstairs.
- 1:35Speaker 3: It doesn't have to be a feature in your house.
- 1:37Speaker 3: It can be, like Bill saying, but like a thing
- 1:40Speaker 3: in your house, an item in your house, something you have.
- 1:43Speaker 5: Here's one. My mom has a one hundred pound tortoise.
- 1:47Speaker 5: Really we walk around Liberty Wells to exercise him and
- 1:51Speaker 5: maintain his nails. Great, and he draws a crowd.
- 1:56Speaker 1: That's that's cool.
- 1:57Speaker 5: I'd say that, Yeah, you're probably not men any people.
- 2:00Speaker 1: No, let's go to Angie.
- 2:02Speaker 4: Hi, Angie, Hi, where are you calling from?
- 2:08Speaker 6: I am calling from Taylorsville.
- 2:10Speaker 4: Okay, what's the unusual or what do you have that's unusual?
- 2:15Speaker 7: Well, first I want to say hi, Bill, I met you.
- 2:18Speaker 7: I was a mermaid at a show that we were asked.
- 2:21Speaker 1: Uh huh, I remember the mill I remember the mermaids.
- 2:25Speaker 8: High Angie, Hi, I have a collection of mermaid items.
- 2:30Speaker 9: I have well over a thousand of them.
- 2:32Speaker 2: Wow, that's unusual.
- 2:34Speaker 1: That is a word. Do you display the a lot
- 2:37Speaker 1: of them?
- 2:39Speaker 7: Yes, yes I do.
- 2:40Speaker 8: I have shelves up in my living room that that
- 2:44Speaker 8: many of them are on.
- 2:45Speaker 3: Do you wish you were an actual mermaid?
- 2:47Speaker 1: She is, oh, yes, thanks Angie.
- 2:51Speaker 10: Angie, uh huh bye.
- 2:54Speaker 2: Let's go to our next call.
- 2:56Speaker 1: It is ranger. Kate's Hi, Kate, Hi, what do you got?
- 3:02Speaker 6: So it's not like terribly unusual, but it's just becoming
- 3:05Speaker 6: more and more rare. I still have love my landline.
- 3:09Speaker 6: I'm actually calling you guys on my lanling ring.
- 3:11Speaker 2: Oh that I prefer the landlines.
- 3:15Speaker 1: I have one too, but I never use it. It's shut.
- 3:19Speaker 1: We just struck to ring it.
- 3:22Speaker 6: Like when I have long conversations catching up with my
- 3:25Speaker 6: ex mother in LAWA like I prefer to not have
- 3:27Speaker 6: to have heading in and out and bad service. Yeah,
- 3:31Speaker 6: just sit down and comfortable, handset the hold. I love it.
- 3:34Speaker 1: Yeah, cool, all right, thanks Katy, Thank you, Kate.
- 3:37Speaker 2: All right, let's go to Corey.
- 3:39Speaker 1: He love Corey, good morning. What do you have unusual.
- 3:45Speaker 11: It's not in my house, it's in my yard. It's
- 3:48Speaker 11: a Huskvarna robomoer.
- 3:51Speaker 4: Now I've heard of these. It's it's like it's like
- 3:54Speaker 4: a it's like a room, but but it mows you're
- 3:56Speaker 4: lawng got really excited about is Does it work?
- 4:01Speaker 1: Well?
- 4:02Speaker 11: Oh, it's it's amazing. I had a Honda mower for
- 4:07Speaker 11: twenty seven years or something like that, and it finally
- 4:09Speaker 11: gave out. And I'm pushing sixty thinking like do I
- 4:12Speaker 11: really want to buy another mower? Do I want to
- 4:14Speaker 11: pay someone? And then somehow ran out of these robomoors.
- 4:17Speaker 11: Had a little spare change because my father just passed
- 4:20Speaker 11: away and thought I'm going.
- 4:21Speaker 12: To go for it.
- 4:22Speaker 11: And it's really cool, Like the neighbors love it.
- 4:25Speaker 1: How much does a robomower cost?
- 4:29Speaker 11: They're between I'm going to say fifteen hundred and up,
- 4:32Speaker 11: depending on which one you get, right. Yeah, So it
- 4:38Speaker 11: has a charging station. It goes back to the charger
- 4:42Speaker 11: and charges up. You can set the schedule for when
- 4:44Speaker 11: you want it to mow. It totally random, so you
- 4:47Speaker 11: just kind of figure out how long to run it
- 4:49Speaker 11: and it just keeps the yard looking nice. It's got
- 4:53Speaker 11: three little rates.
- 4:55Speaker 1: Oh you need. Yeah, you cut out ranks.
- 5:01Speaker 3: This one's interesting. My house has a sprinkling system. There's
- 5:04Speaker 3: not a fire hydrant near me when we built our
- 5:07Speaker 3: house and they made us.
- 5:08Speaker 1: But sprinkling. That is odd. Really, that is unusual. Okay.
- 5:13Speaker 5: I have a telegram from j Edgar Hoover to my
- 5:15Speaker 5: grandfather asking him to join the FBI.
- 5:20Speaker 1: All right, and bring your best dress.

- 5:54Speaker 13: I get it in almost every day.
- 5:56Speaker 1: Yo.
- 5:56Speaker 4: Actually it only costs about a grand grand and you
- 5:59Speaker 4: built it yourself in in in the closet.
- 6:04Speaker 13: Yeah, my old man really was a master behind it.
- 6:07Speaker 13: But yeah, like I said, all the parks are only
- 6:10Speaker 13: about a thousand bucks.
- 6:11Speaker 9: They'll screw behind that.

- 10:11Speaker 2: As I recall, it hasn't lots of metal stuff. It
- 10:15Speaker 2: hasn't affected your physiology or mood.
- 10:18Speaker 1: You haven't grown an.
- 10:19Speaker 13: Arm or.
- 10:21Speaker 2: Well, I mean a wolf.

- 10:32Speaker 2: Go to Lindsay, Hello, Lindsay, Lindsay, what have you called?

- 10:45Speaker 10: I went down to Canab to go to best Friends
- 10:48Speaker 10: Animals at Chiuary, and I found this beautiful, brightly colored
- 10:54Speaker 10: painted canvas the pet of a tig. I got it
- 10:58Speaker 10: from a gallery down there. Huh, it's been really bright,
- 11:01Speaker 10: bright colors. And I don't know of anybody else that
- 11:03Speaker 10: has something.
- 11:04Speaker 14: Like that painting.
- 11:06Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, send.

- 11:29Speaker 15: I've got a slot machine in my game room?
- 11:32Speaker 1: Okay? Cool?
- 11:33Speaker 4: Wow?
- 11:34Speaker 1: Does it? Does it pay out?
- 11:38Speaker 6: Yes?
- 11:38Speaker 11: And no?
- 11:39Speaker 15: It has specific coins that.
- 11:41Speaker 1: You use, okay, and so yeah, you.
- 11:44Speaker 15: Use the coins and it does. It does hit jackpots
- 11:47Speaker 15: and it pays out. It's I'm not sure if it's
- 11:50Speaker 15: from China or from Japan. So call it Asian?
- 11:55Speaker 3: Oh?
- 11:55Speaker 13: Is it is?
- 11:56Speaker 1: It?
- 11:56Speaker 15: Is?
- 11:56Speaker 1: It?
- 11:57Speaker 2: Is it a pachinko kind of a game.
- 12:00Speaker 15: No, it's a slot machine.
- 12:01Speaker 4: Yeah, machine, but it doesn't it doesn't use like real coins.
- 12:05Speaker 4: It uses its special its own coins.
- 12:07Speaker 15: Oh okay, you're right, it uses special coins. And so
- 12:11Speaker 15: when it hits the jag pot, it just goes crazy
- 12:14Speaker 15: and it will, you know, go off for like a
- 12:16Speaker 15: half hour and just keep paying out.
- 12:18Speaker 1: Oh cool, pretty fun, all right, thank you?
- 12:20Speaker 2: All right? Yeah, thank you. Mike is here? O, Mike?
- 12:25Speaker 1: What have you got? Mike? Mike? Oh, Mike, I think
- 12:31Speaker 1: we lost Mike. All right. Cameron Camerck, Hey, yeah, what
- 12:36Speaker 1: have you got? That's unusual?
- 12:39Speaker 16: John Wayne Gacy paintings.
- 12:41Speaker 1: Oh he did a bunch of clowns.
- 12:45Speaker 2: I know you purchased these I did not.
- 12:49Speaker 16: It's a family heirlom and it's a weird little it's
- 12:51Speaker 16: real weird story. My uncle worked for a post office box.
- 12:55Speaker 16: Whoever was writing John Wayne Gacy quit paying his post
- 12:59Speaker 16: office box. Were like, toss this stuff. So they tossed
- 13:01Speaker 16: the stuff and kound a bunch of paintings in them.
- 13:03Speaker 1: Wow are on the back of them.
- 13:06Speaker 16: They're weird too. They're like, Hey, Cameron or whatever the
- 13:10Speaker 16: name is, I can't remember, thank you so much for
- 13:12Speaker 16: writing me. You've given me a lot of attention. I
- 13:15Speaker 16: have painted these paintings just for you. I hope you
- 13:17Speaker 16: enjoy them as much as I did them. Pretty or
- 13:19Speaker 16: something weird like that.
- 13:20Speaker 1: So were they these were these things he did in jail.
- 13:23Speaker 2: In prison, in prison?
- 13:25Speaker 1: Yeah, there you go. That's how many do you have?
- 13:30Speaker 16: There's two of them.
- 13:31Speaker 1: There was a third one.
- 13:32Speaker 16: So there's the skull, the double skull, and then we
- 13:34Speaker 16: had one of the clowns. Right, Yeah, I think it
- 13:40Speaker 16: really is. Yeah, we wrapped them up. If you guys
- 13:42Speaker 16: want me to bring them in, I'd be happy to
- 13:43Speaker 16: come show.
- 13:43Speaker 1: Them to you. Oh, I'd love to see him, or
- 13:45Speaker 1: send us a photo. You can just send a picture
- 13:47Speaker 1: either way. All right, thank you do that?
- 13:49Speaker 15: All right?
- 13:50Speaker 2: Thank you?
- 13:50Speaker 1: Yeah, Damien, Hello, Damien, Damon, what have you?
- 13:55Speaker 9: Hey? How you doing good? Thanks for letting me listen.
- 13:58Speaker 1: They're welcome.
- 13:59Speaker 9: I have a kwondo. It's a traditional Chinese with him.
- 14:03Speaker 1: What does it look like?
- 14:06Speaker 9: It's about six to seven feet long, has a large
- 14:10Speaker 9: stick blade on one end and a spike on the
- 14:12Speaker 9: other end, so it's.
- 14:14Speaker 2: Like a pole with Yeah, okay, I've seen.
- 14:16Speaker 9: Yeah, yeah, you know, and they're they're fairly heavy that
- 14:20Speaker 9: were used to fight against the samurais on the horses.
- 14:23Speaker 4: Yeah, where uh where did you come by this thing?
- 14:28Speaker 9: I trained in Kansu, have been doing it for about
- 14:30Speaker 9: thirty years. It's one of the one of the forms
- 14:33Speaker 9: I learned how to do.
- 14:35Speaker 1: So you you bought it for that purpose?
- 14:38Speaker 9: Yeah?
- 14:38Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, all right, all right, thank you, Damian. Let's
- 14:41Speaker 1: sweep the leg.
- 14:44Speaker 5: Okay, let's go to Eliza.
- 14:47Speaker 2: Is it Eliza?
- 14:48Speaker 4: Hi?
- 14:48Speaker 1: Eliza? It's okay?
- 14:52Speaker 17: What uh So? In my last basement apartment that I
- 14:58Speaker 17: lived in, there was a window from the hallway to
- 15:02Speaker 17: the bathroom, so the window didn't go to the outside
- 15:05Speaker 17: and went from the hallway to the bathroom.
- 15:08Speaker 1: Why do you know.
- 15:11Speaker 17: I don't know that. People who own the house kind
- 15:13Speaker 17: of did all of their own work in the house.
- 15:16Speaker 17: So I think they were trying to create like more states.
- 15:21Speaker 17: I don't know what they were doing. All of the
- 15:23Speaker 17: countertops in the kitchen had like different countertops, and they
- 15:26Speaker 17: weren't attached to the wall, and I accidentally knocked into
- 15:29Speaker 17: the floor.
- 15:31Speaker 1: Not well done. I'm telling you.
- 15:33Speaker 4: The reason they had the window there was so that
- 15:36Speaker 4: so that somebody could watch and when somebody was in
- 15:37Speaker 4: the bathroom, you could watch somebody.
- 15:41Speaker 17: Probably, Well, it's really convenient. If somebody needed some toilet paper,
- 15:45Speaker 17: we could just hand it through the windows.
- 15:47Speaker 4: Uh huh, okay, all right, thank you, thank you.
- 15:52Speaker 2: All right, we'll close out with Molly Mormon.
- 15:55Speaker 1: Hello, what do you have?
- 15:57Speaker 8: Well, it's what I had. It's in the house where
- 16:00Speaker 8: I grew up in New York. We'd go down to
- 16:02Speaker 8: the cellar, very dank, damp old, and if you'd go
- 16:06Speaker 8: around a corner there was this little tiny room. Now
- 16:09Speaker 8: this might be hearsay, but what I was told my
