- Lucas: Ciao, Luna! Welcome back to Learn Italian with Fexingo. Luna: Ciao, Lucas! I'm excited for today. Lucas: Me too. Last episode we learned about Italian food. Today, let's talk about time—specifically, the months of the year. Luna: Oh, months! Like January, February... in Italian? Lucas: Exactly. We'll start with the first three. Listen and repeat after me: gennaio. Luna: Gennaio. Lucas: Perfect. Gennaio is January. Next: febbraio. Luna: Febbraio. Lucas: Yes, febbraio is February. And marzo. Luna: Marzo. Lucas: Good. Marzo is March. Let's try them together: gennaio, febbraio, marzo. Luna: Gennaio, febbraio, marzo. Lucas: Great. Now, spring months: aprile, maggio. Luna: Aprile, maggio. Lucas: Nice. Aprile is April, maggio is May. And then giugno. Luna: Giugno. Lucas: Giugno is June. So we have gennaio, febbraio, marzo, aprile, maggio, giugno. Luna: That's six months already! Let me try: gennaio, febbraio, marzo, aprile, maggio, giugno. Lucas: You're doing great! Now summer months: luglio, agosto. Luna: Luglio, agosto. Lucas: Luglio is July, agosto is August. And then settembre. Luna: Settembre. Lucas: Settembre is September. Then ottobre, novembre, dicembre. Luna: Ottobre, novembre, dicembre. Lucas: Exactly. Ottobre is October, novembre is November, dicembre is December. So all twelve: gennaio, febbraio, marzo, aprile, maggio, giugno, luglio, agosto, settembre, ottobre, novembre, dicembre. Luna: Wow, that's a lot. Let me try the second half: luglio, agosto, settembre, ottobre, novembre, dicembre. Lucas: Perfect. Now let's practice with a phrase. In Italian, you can say 'Il mio compleanno è in...' meaning 'My birthday is in...' For example: Il mio compleanno è in maggio. Luna: Il mio compleanno è in maggio. Lucas: Yes. What about you, Luna? When's your birthday? Luna: Uhh, let's say... Il mio compleanno è in ottobre. Lucas: Perfect. Il mio compleanno è in ottobre. Now, a little conversation. If I ask: 'In che mese siamo?' — That means 'What month are we in?' You can answer with the month. So, in che mese siamo? Luna: Siamo in... uhh, I'll say maggio. Lucas: Siamo in maggio. Good. Let's do a quick review. I'll say the English, you say the Italian. January? Luna: Gennaio. Lucas: February? Luna: Febbraio. Lucas: March? Luna: Marzo. Lucas: April? Luna: Aprile. Lucas: May? Luna: Maggio. Lucas: June? Luna: Giugno. Lucas: July? Luna: Luglio. Lucas: August? Luna: Agosto. Lucas: September? Luna: Settembre. Lucas: October? Luna: Ottobre. Lucas: November? Luna: Novembre. Lucas: December? Luna: Dicembre. Lucas: You nailed it. Now let's use it in a tiny story. Imagine we're planning a trip to Italy. Luca says: 'Andiamo a Roma in aprile.' — 'We go to Rome in April.' Can you say that? Luna: Andiamo a Roma in aprile. Lucas: Perfect. And if you want to say 'I love December' — 'Amo dicembre.' Luna: Amo dicembre. Lucas: Yes. Now let's do a quick call-back to episode 17 about weather. You could say 'In dicembre fa freddo' — 'In December it's cold.' Luna: In dicembre fa freddo. Lucas: Exactly. And 'In luglio fa caldo' — 'In July it's hot.' Luna: In luglio fa caldo. Lucas: Great. So remember the months: gennaio, febbraio, marzo, aprile, maggio, giugno, luglio, agosto, settembre, ottobre, novembre, dicembre. Practice them and try saying your birthday month in Italian. Luna: I will. Grazie, Lucas! Lucas: Prego, Luna. And to our listeners, grazie for joining us on Learn Italian with Fexingo. Keep practicing, and we'll see you next time. Luna: Ciao! Lucas: Ciao!
