- 0:00Speaker 1: There's been kind of some more socialist candidates, right? Yep.
- 0:04Speaker 1: Which I think is a safe term to use.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Democratic socialists.
- 0:07Speaker 1: There's been like some more socialist candidates that have popped
- 0:10Speaker 1: up and have garnered a lot of support.
- 0:11Speaker 2: Yep.
- 0:13Speaker 1: Do you think that the Republican Party, like is there
- 0:15Speaker 1: a response to that that the Republican Party should kind
- 0:18Speaker 1: of have or that the Republican Party like has to
- 0:22Speaker 1: that sort of happening? Like what is kind of the
- 0:25Speaker 1: Republican Party's response to that or counteraction to that if
- 0:28Speaker 1: there is one?
- 0:28Speaker 2: Right question. Well, Senator Bernie Sanders... You thought it was
- 0:31Speaker 2: a good question? Yeah, it was a good question. Thanks, dude.
- 0:36Speaker 2: Senator Bernie Sanders, Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez, Mayor Mom Donnie, Mayor of
- 0:41Speaker 2: New York, Mr. Graham Plattner, who's running for Senate in Maine,
- 0:48Speaker 2: they are socialists. They believe in a government-run economy. They
- 0:57Speaker 2: believe that My words, not theirs. You should send all
- 1:02Speaker 2: your money and all of your freedom to them, and
- 1:06Speaker 2: they can make decisions for you. I don't believe that.
- 1:10Speaker 2: I believe in free enterprise. I think free enterprise has
- 1:14Speaker 2: done more to lift people out of poverty than all
- 1:18Speaker 2: the social programs put together. They believe in defunding the police.
- 1:24Speaker 2: They were behind all of that. They believe that cops...
- 1:29Speaker 2: are a bigger problem than criminals. They believe in defunding ICE.
- 1:37Speaker 2: They believe that, I know some of them that they
- 1:44Speaker 2: think all white people are racist. I know some of
- 1:48Speaker 2: them that they think Thomas Jefferson and George Washington and
- 1:54Speaker 2: Abraham Lincoln and Dr. Seuss and Mr. Potato Head are
- 1:58Speaker 2: all racist.
- 1:59Speaker 1: Dude, to say Mr. Potato Head is racist, bring him up.
- 2:03Speaker 1: He's mixed, isn't he? I don't believe that. I mean,
- 2:07Speaker 1: he's at least half russet.
- 2:09Speaker 2: I don't think the— Dude, hold on. There's Mr. Potato Head.
- 2:13Speaker 1: Bro, and look, first of all, look at the second Mr.
- 2:16Speaker 1: Potato Head. Look at Mr. Potato Head.
- 2:18Speaker 2: I just remember when— That guy, you tell him— Show
- 2:20Speaker 2: the first Mr. Potato Head.
- 2:22Speaker 1: Okay, bring out your first one.
- 2:23Speaker 2: That was the one they got mad at. No, there
- 2:25Speaker 2: was another one.
- 2:26Speaker 1: Bro, what are you talking about? Steve Harvey played him, too?
- 2:29Speaker 2: Look at the one in the middle on the second row.
- 2:31Speaker 1: He gets all the roles.
- 2:33Speaker 2: They got mad. They said the creators of Mr. Potato
- 2:37Speaker 2: Head were racist. Oh, come on, bro. Now, I don't look.
- 2:43Speaker 1: Oh, I didn't know that's what you meant. I thought
- 2:45Speaker 1: you meant the potato itself, man. The potato definitely.
- 2:48Speaker 2: No, Mr. Potato Head.
- 2:50Speaker 1: Oh, the potato definitely. He's from Jackson. But, yeah, I
- 2:56Speaker 1: don't think he's racist at all. The creators of it.
- 2:58Speaker 2: I don't think Dr. Seuss was racist.
- 3:01Speaker 1: No, he wasn't racist. I don't think so at all, dude.
- 3:03Speaker 1: The cat in the hat?
- 3:05Speaker 2: I remember.
- 3:05Speaker 1: That's a black guy.
- 3:07Speaker 2: But my point is most– Horton.
- 3:11Speaker 1: He is a who? That's not racist at all. It
- 3:16Speaker 1: should be Horton, he is a what? Or I think–
- 3:19Speaker 1: I don't know. Never mind. Go on. America what?
- 3:23Speaker 2: America is not perfect, but we're good. And we caught
- 3:26Speaker 2: the disease of slavery, but we beat it back.
- 3:30Speaker 1: Yeah, and there's a lot of speculation about how slavery
- 3:33Speaker 1: started and where it started and what exactly happened. And
- 3:35Speaker 1: I do think that over time, there's definitely this constant, like,
- 3:39Speaker 1: there's definitely a ploy, it seems like, by the media
- 3:41Speaker 1: sometimes that tries to remind, like, it's like, tries to
- 3:44Speaker 1: keep people locked into, like, a victim mentality sometimes.
- 3:48Speaker 2: That's true.
- 3:49Speaker 1: And that's, it's okay to be a victim sometimes, but
- 3:52Speaker 1: if all you are is a victim, I think it's
- 3:54Speaker 1: tough to move forward sometimes. It is. For any of us,
- 3:58Speaker 1: regarding anything. What do you think are some of the
- 4:02Speaker 1: pitfalls of long terms of like socialism that maybe people
- 4:05Speaker 1: don't see that have happened in the past? If you
- 4:08Speaker 1: have an example.
- 4:09Speaker 2: I do not believe that the people in the Democratic
- 4:16Speaker 2: Socialist Party that I just named, some of them I know.
- 4:20Speaker 2: Senator Sanders is a friend of mine. I believe deep
- 4:25Speaker 2: down they think they're smarter and more virtuous. than the
- 4:31Speaker 2: American people and that they can make decisions for the
- 4:35Speaker 2: country and the country will be better off. And I
- 4:37Speaker 2: respectfully disagree with them. I trust the American people. This
- 4:42Speaker 2: is the greatest country in all of human history. The
- 4:45Speaker 2: whole world knows it. Everybody wants to come here. When's
- 4:49Speaker 2: the last time you heard of somebody trying to sneak
- 4:51Speaker 2: into China? People want to come here.
- 4:54Speaker 1: That's a good point.
- 4:55Speaker 2: And it's because... We believe in free enterprise. We believe
- 4:59Speaker 2: that our future can be better than our present or
- 5:01Speaker 2: our past. We believe in free will and responsibility. You know,
- 5:06Speaker 2: most Americans, they don't read Aristotle every day because they're
- 5:11Speaker 2: busy earning a living. But they're plenty smart. They don't
- 5:16Speaker 2: need a soul-crushing federal government to run their lives. And
- 5:24Speaker 2: free enterprise works. socialism name one country where it worked
- 5:30Speaker 2: it doesn't work in cuba it didn't work in argentina
- 5:35Speaker 2: it didn't work in the former soviet union.
- 5:38Speaker 1: Yeah that's what i think sometimes if if we do
- 5:40Speaker 1: get to that place of it where if it were
- 5:42Speaker 1: to grow that much that could it work is it
- 5:46Speaker 1: different would something be different this time i don't know
- 5:49Speaker 1: you know it's interesting to think about um you know,
- 5:53Speaker 1: if it ever was really tried earnestly. It's hard to know.
- 5:56Speaker 1: I'm not, I'm not saying, I'm not voting in.
- 5:58Speaker 2: It was tried earnestly in Cuba.
- 6:00Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 6:01Speaker 2: And we see how that turned out.
- 6:02Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 6:03Speaker 2: It was tried earnestly under Peron in Argentina.
- 6:06Speaker 1: But do you think that Castro was earned, like in
- 6:08Speaker 1: the end, he kind of became corrupted, right?
- 6:10Speaker 2: He was very corrupt. They've always been corrupt.
- 6:12Speaker 1: But do you think in the beginning he was earned,
- 6:13Speaker 1: like he tried to play himself as earnest probably?
- 6:16Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 6:16Speaker 1: Right.
- 6:17Speaker 2: I think he was, I think he believed in the
- 6:19Speaker 2: socialist philosophy.
- 6:21Speaker 1: Right. But in the end, it just became about him.
- 6:24Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 6:25Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 6:26Speaker 2: And Senator Bernie Sanders, I think he's been on your show. Yeah.
- 6:31Speaker 2: I love Bernie. I love him. He comes in.
- 6:33Speaker 1: He's got his bag. We've sent him a little thing.
- 6:35Speaker 1: He's like, I just want a couple of cookies on
- 6:37Speaker 1: a plate. He's like Santa.
- 6:38Speaker 2: It took me a long time to get to know
- 6:39Speaker 2: Bernie because he's– I thought he just didn't like me
- 6:42Speaker 2: because he can be kind of gruff. But he's kind
- 6:44Speaker 2: of gruff. I remember one day I got him to smile.
- 6:48Speaker 2: I was walking over to the Capitol with another senator
- 6:50Speaker 2: to vote. And Bernie passed me by, and he didn't speak.
- 6:53Speaker 2: And I leaned over and said, Bernie. He said, what?
- 6:56Speaker 2: I said, pay your taxes, man. We need the money.
- 6:59Speaker 2: And he got a little smile. But he's a great guy.
- 7:02Speaker 2: But he is genuinely a socialist. And he honestly believes
- 7:08Speaker 2: that if you made money in business, that you did
- 7:16Speaker 2: it by taking advantage of somebody or you stole it.
- 7:20Speaker 2: And that's not been my experience. I know many successful
- 7:23Speaker 2: businesswomen and businessmen that have created a lot of jobs.
- 7:27Speaker 2: They earn the money, honestly. When you started out, nobody
- 7:33Speaker 2: gave it to you. You did it through hard work.
- 7:36Speaker 2: You took risks. If you had failed, the government wasn't
- 7:41Speaker 2: going to be there to bail you out. And most
- 7:46Speaker 2: of the businesses in America are small business. And these
- 7:50Speaker 2: are people that sometimes they mortgage their home to take
- 7:53Speaker 2: a risk, and they work hard, and they create jobs.
- 7:57Speaker 2: And I think that's America, and that's why we're the
- 7:59Speaker 2: greatest country in all of human history.
- 8:01Speaker 1: Amen.
- 8:03Speaker 2: But not everybody agrees with me.
- 8:06Speaker 1: That's okay.
