- 0:01Speaker 1: This is it.
- 0:03Speaker 2: We're gonna do a show today. There could be some
- 0:05Speaker 2: trades during the show. There's going to be many trades
- 0:08Speaker 2: over the weekend.
- 0:09Speaker 1: I'd like you. I'd like a trade right now.
- 0:11Speaker 2: I would love a trade.
- 0:12Speaker 1: Can I just finalize it?
- 0:13Speaker 2: You have one?
- 0:14Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 0:14Speaker 3: I need twelve fungos for that guy right there, so
- 0:18Speaker 3: you are officially off the show.
- 0:20Speaker 1: I'm getting twelve fungos. I'll see a later dog.
- 0:24Speaker 2: If those fungos could talk. It didn't go through never
- 0:28Speaker 2: mind rejected, But.
- 0:32Speaker 4: I got a fungo for you. Todd.
- 0:35Speaker 1: Whoa, whoa. This guy's sharp.
- 0:37Speaker 4: Wow.
- 0:38Speaker 2: Wow, it's gonna be one of those days.
- 0:39Speaker 1: All right.
- 0:39Speaker 2: Let me start you off with the question of the day.
- 0:42Speaker 2: We're doing this more frequently here. It's posted on the
- 0:44Speaker 2: socials on the Foul Territory accounts on x ig the
- 0:48Speaker 2: whole deal, name a player you hope gets traded to
- 0:52Speaker 2: your team. We plucked a few answers from Twitter. You
- 0:56Speaker 2: can send us answers on ig when we do these
- 0:58Speaker 2: two and we'll take them next week. But for this
- 1:01Speaker 2: particular question, a Marlins fan said they'd love eraldis chapman
- 1:06Speaker 2: or esac paratus, but don't think that's gonna happen. That
- 1:10Speaker 2: is correct. The Red Sox are not going to trade Chapman.
- 1:12Speaker 2: The Astros are not going to trade Paradist in my mind.
- 1:15Speaker 3: But also I think Chapman wouldn't be that upset if
- 1:19Speaker 3: he went to Miami.
- 1:20Speaker 1: He would love He would love that. He would that.
- 1:22Speaker 1: But that's the only that's the only.
- 1:25Speaker 3: So if you you're saying, not gonna I give it
- 1:27Speaker 3: four percent just because of the Miami, if.
- 1:29Speaker 2: They asked him, he would say yes in a heartbeat.
- 1:32Speaker 2: He'd probably even gives some money back. He screams, Miami.
- 1:35Speaker 2: He's he lives there. That's that's his spot. Yes, who's there?
- 1:42Speaker 4: His yacht is there?
- 1:44Speaker 1: So he.
- 1:46Speaker 2: That would help the cause. Yeah, Hunter Goodman, send my
- 1:50Speaker 2: boy to Fenway, says a Red Sox fan RJ. It'll
- 1:54Speaker 2: cost a lot if you do, because of the years
- 1:56Speaker 2: of control he has and how good he's been, But
- 1:59Speaker 2: that would be nice. Yeah, that's what changed my mind
- 2:04Speaker 2: about the Red Sox.
- 2:06Speaker 4: Yeah, that would easily change my mind about the Red Sox.
- 2:11Speaker 2: Mm hmm. Interesting big offensive boost starting pitcher who goes
- 2:17Speaker 2: behind beyond five innings from Greg the the Braves fan
- 2:23Speaker 2: like a starting pitcher beyond five. Wow, can we do it?
- 2:28Speaker 2: I found one and his name's Chris Sale. Oh he's
- 2:30Speaker 2: on your team.
- 2:31Speaker 1: Team interesting.
- 2:35Speaker 2: Lastly, a Yankees fan Tim wants Liam Hicks. I mean
- 2:42Speaker 2: the Yanks are looking for a catcher, right, Yeah. We
- 2:46Speaker 2: hear them tied to Ryan Jeffers, but we hear three
- 2:49Speaker 2: or four teams tied to Ryan Jeffers, and I think
- 2:52Speaker 2: it was likely he was going to get dealt. We're
- 2:54Speaker 2: going to talk about the twins in a moment, but
- 2:57Speaker 2: I guarantee and Liam Hicks would definitely help the offense
- 3:01Speaker 2: for the Yanks.
- 3:02Speaker 1: Without a doubt, without a doubt, I agree. I agree.
- 3:08Speaker 4: For the Yankees.
- 3:10Speaker 1: Mm hmm. Okay.
- 3:12Speaker 2: I like Jonah William Hicks rates a little bit higher
- 3:15Speaker 2: offensively a little bit.
- 3:17Speaker 3: I'm more about the I I love the receiving.
- 3:22Speaker 1: There you go, I test okay.
- 3:25Speaker 4: Uh.
- 3:26Speaker 2: Before we start, I want to highlight one of our
- 3:29Speaker 2: shows on the FT Network for some of the guests
- 3:31Speaker 2: they put together this week. So they had Dylan Biavers on,
- 3:34Speaker 2: who's current Big leaguer but also the former Big Bopper
- 3:40Speaker 2: in Baltimore. Actually, I like that. Chris Davis was just
- 3:44Speaker 2: on the show and then he is being honored tomorrow
- 3:48Speaker 2: at the ballpark. It's Chris Davis Day d He hit
- 3:54Speaker 2: nukes Man. Good for him, so he's on that show.
- 3:58Speaker 2: That show is very close to the one thousand subscriber
- 4:01Speaker 2: range on YouTube. We would love if you give them
- 4:03Speaker 2: some love, even if you don't like their team. It's fine.
- 4:07Speaker 2: The live crew right now that's watching, please give it
- 4:10Speaker 2: a little click. Thank you very much, and now we
- 4:13Speaker 2: can begin our journey. The fire sale has begun. The
- 4:20Speaker 2: New York Mets trade away AJ Minter and he is
- 4:23Speaker 2: going to become a high leverage left handed reliever in
- 4:26Speaker 2: the Minnesota Twins bullpen. The Twins are picking up the
- 4:30Speaker 2: three point three million dollars remaining on this deal. They
- 4:33Speaker 2: trade away a couple prospects, which includes Benny Agbayani's kids.
- 4:37Speaker 2: That's cool, but when you do take on all of
- 4:40Speaker 2: the money in these deals, that means you have to
- 4:43Speaker 2: give up a little bit less in prospects. No knock
- 4:45Speaker 2: against these prospects. But the Twins do get some bullpen help,
- 4:49Speaker 2: and the Mets say it's on mint or first ten
- 4:53Speaker 2: more to go.
- 4:54Speaker 3: No, I mean, listen, I the prospects are suspects to me.
- 4:59Speaker 3: For the mo part you know how I am what
- 5:01Speaker 3: that always have, always well be. But again, if this
- 5:05Speaker 3: is what's gonna happen, this is pinball. Pin number one
- 5:09Speaker 3: got taken down. If we're bawling, there's a nine more
- 5:12Speaker 3: to go. So yeah, here come the Mets with all this.
- 5:17Speaker 3: If I'm a team right now, I saw this, who
- 5:19Speaker 3: else can I grab from them to make my team better?
- 5:21Speaker 3: So the fire sale is coming and this is just
- 5:25Speaker 3: the start of it. And we haven't hit Monday yet.
- 5:27Speaker 3: It's coming really soon, Cratzy.
- 5:29Speaker 4: Good for the Twins. Good for the Twins. Not only
- 5:32Speaker 4: did they take on money last year, they just shed
- 5:35Speaker 4: a bunch of money. So this is a good signification
- 5:39Speaker 4: that they're especially after they after they hit the walk
- 5:43Speaker 4: off Grand Slam yesterday. That you know what, guys, we're
- 5:46Speaker 4: going in. I know Byron's out right now, but he
- 5:49Speaker 4: should be back soon. We're going in as much as
- 5:52Speaker 4: the Twins go in.
- 5:55Speaker 2: Yeah, this is a guy who's had a two, three,
- 5:57Speaker 2: five R twenty three innings. You know, Mentor's been through
- 6:00Speaker 2: some injuries the last four years, but in his twenty
- 6:02Speaker 2: three innings so far this year has been great. I mean,
- 6:04Speaker 2: he's finding his own twenty case to two walks and
- 6:07Speaker 2: he should be there. You know, they're one of their
- 6:09Speaker 2: top guys in the bullpen. Now Andrew Morris who Andrey
- 6:12Speaker 2: Scomez not guys were usually talking about on the show,
- 6:14Speaker 2: But they've been really good in the bullpen for this team.
- 6:17Speaker 2: They're trying to build up the leverage that they have,
- 6:19Speaker 2: the high leverage guys that they have. And yeah, the
- 6:21Speaker 2: prospect trading is ruined Agbayani that's Benny's son's name, and
- 6:26Speaker 2: I think he's currently hurt, but he was a six
- 6:29Speaker 2: round pick last year. And then Billy Ammick I think
- 6:32Speaker 2: is the more highly rated prospects second round twenty twenty four,
- 6:35Speaker 2: raw power guy. You know what I think about with
- 6:38Speaker 2: the Twins to Krats, they pick up someone like mintor
- 6:41Speaker 2: their bullpen has not been great this year. The Twins,
- 6:46Speaker 2: they should not have traded away Louis Martlin's last year.
- 6:49Speaker 2: I get you were doing your fire sale. You want
- 6:51Speaker 2: to trade away any assets that are short term or
- 6:54Speaker 2: even short ter term. Louis Varlin's under control for years
- 6:58Speaker 2: and years. That was the one trade life year where
- 7:00Speaker 2: you're looking and you're like, huh, I don't get it,
- 7:02Speaker 2: But are they not trying until twenty thirty two, and
- 7:05Speaker 2: I think if they could do a Mulligan on that one,
- 7:08Speaker 2: they would be a very different looking ball club. They're
- 7:11Speaker 2: within what are they right now? A game or two way,
- 7:13Speaker 2: but they'd be in the lead here if they had
- 7:16Speaker 2: someone like Varlin locking down the ninth inning.
- 7:20Speaker 4: Yeah, but it wasn't just us saying huh, it was
- 7:23Speaker 4: the team. Like even Louis Varland when he came on
- 7:26Speaker 4: the show was like kind of had no idea, like
- 7:28Speaker 4: it was going to go that far. Other guys that
- 7:30Speaker 4: came on the show was like, whoa, Okay, I guess
- 7:34Speaker 4: nobody's safe and they shed payroll. You know, I guess
- 7:38Speaker 4: you're gonna still wait and see what comes of the
- 7:41Speaker 4: Louis Varland. But I think it was a very short
- 7:44Speaker 4: sighted move by them because they got rid of Johann Duran,
- 7:48Speaker 4: which was, okay, advantageous. You get a mick Abel. You know,
- 7:52Speaker 4: the Phillies were juiced to have them. They wanted their closer,
- 7:56Speaker 4: but he still had team control. Louis Varland could have
- 7:59Speaker 4: just stepped into that closers roll, and you know, I
- 8:03Speaker 4: think to me that was the worst part of the whole.
- 8:07Speaker 4: We need to save money because teams started calling and
- 8:10Speaker 4: they were like, hey, we'll take this guy. We'll take
- 8:11Speaker 4: this guy. All right, Well, let's just get rid of
- 8:13Speaker 4: all of them, because he's still he doesn't even three years.
- 8:16Speaker 4: At the end of this year, he won't have three
- 8:18Speaker 4: years of big league service.
- 8:21Speaker 2: That's crazy.
- 8:22Speaker 1: It's crazy.
- 8:22Speaker 2: That is crazy.
- 8:23Speaker 1: It seems like a lot more than that.
- 8:29Speaker 2: If you're watching us, you already know we're wearing Mack
- 8:31Speaker 2: Weldon right now as we talk about a great brand
- 8:34Speaker 2: that makes things so comfortable and easy to wear. But
- 8:36Speaker 2: if you're listening to the show, let me tell you
- 8:38Speaker 2: a little bit more about mac Weldon with my friend
- 8:41Speaker 2: Aeric Kratz.
- 8:42Speaker 4: Yeah, it's comfortable, it's light, it's summertime right now. For me, though,
- 8:48Speaker 4: they cater to what I need tall clothes. Normally, when
- 8:52Speaker 4: I buy tall clothes, it's like something that's cumbersome and boxy.
- 8:56Speaker 4: It still fits incredibly well, super light, perfect for the summertime.
- 9:02Speaker 4: They got me all covered.
- 9:04Speaker 2: Comfortable performance material can be yours. Mack Weldon is the spot.
- 9:11Speaker 2: Don't sweat the heat this summer. Feel as effortlessly cool
- 9:14Speaker 2: as you look with Mack Weldon. Go to Mackweldon dot
- 9:16Speaker 2: com and get twenty percent off your first order of
- 9:18Speaker 2: one hundred and twenty five bucks or more with promo
- 9:20Speaker 2: code foul. That's m A c kW E L d
- 9:22Speaker 2: O N dot com code f ou l. Let's look
- 9:26Speaker 2: at Jim Bowden's tweet on grading trades. I think he's
- 9:29Speaker 2: gonna do that instantly, our resident GM for as much
- 9:32Speaker 2: as he can. It'll get a little crazy on Monday
- 9:35Speaker 2: or maybe even Sunday. He gives both sides a B.
- 9:37Speaker 2: He said. The Twins pursue their goal of adding at
- 9:40Speaker 2: the deadline with their most pressing bullpen need landing mintor
- 9:43Speaker 2: who should significantly help them. Amick is the power bat
- 9:46Speaker 2: who walks but strikes out too much. So bees for
- 9:49Speaker 2: both sides and good for Minnesota. Taken on the three
- 9:52Speaker 2: point three mil to get someone like this in aj
- 9:56Speaker 2: Minter because yeah, he's not a cheap reliever, but he's
- 9:58Speaker 2: one who should need for a team that can win
- 10:01Speaker 2: the division. We just showed the standing their game out.
- 10:04Speaker 1: Not too far at all.
- 10:05Speaker 3: It's possible nobody's talking about them either in my at
- 10:09Speaker 3: least around here, nobody's talking about the Twinkies. So it's
- 10:12Speaker 3: just one of those things where that Central Division is
- 10:15Speaker 3: wide open, and nobody thought that the Twins would make
- 10:18Speaker 3: this kind of run. So for me, watch out. This
- 10:22Speaker 3: is you got three team, four teams actually battling for
- 10:26Speaker 3: first place. We'll see when well you're counting, we'll see
- 10:29Speaker 3: when school that's gonna change. We're gonna talk later about that.
- 10:32Speaker 2: Of course, yes, I agreed, And then back to the
- 10:34Speaker 2: Mets side for a moment here, because we're gonna talk
- 10:36Speaker 2: more twins with Dan Hayes coming up. Crats, they're gonna
- 10:41Speaker 2: empty out half their bullpen. They're gonna look at anything,
- 10:44Speaker 2: of course, shirt short term, but even a little bit
- 10:47Speaker 2: longer term. A guy like Luke Weaver should get dealt
- 10:51Speaker 2: over the next few days. Bras O Bonn, Who I think,
- 10:54Speaker 2: is he just a one year guy or do they
- 10:55Speaker 2: have control of him? But he'll get Delt's control. But
- 10:59Speaker 2: he's thirty six, right, so you deal that. I'm just
- 11:04Speaker 2: saying anything that's looking good this year that's not under
- 11:07Speaker 2: long term control or in his case, a unique one
- 11:11Speaker 2: bye bye.
- 11:13Speaker 4: For some reason, I don't feel like Luke Weaver gets dealt.
- 11:16Speaker 4: And the only reason I say that, the only reason
- 11:18Speaker 4: I say that is because the Mets were so reticent
- 11:23Speaker 4: to sign Edwin Diaz last year. We don't know exactly
- 11:27Speaker 4: what went down. Maybe it was, you know, Edwin just
- 11:29Speaker 4: wanted to go to LA the contract stuff, like, who
- 11:32Speaker 4: are they going to end up? Because they're not rebuilding
- 11:35Speaker 4: next year. It's not like like they're gonna want a
- 11:37Speaker 4: Luke Weaver type. And the one thing that David Sterns
- 11:40Speaker 4: loves is short term pitchers deals. So for him to
- 11:44Speaker 4: go two years with Luke Weaver, okay, I'm going out
- 11:47Speaker 4: on my going out on the line here. You know
- 11:49Speaker 4: they we did that with Devin Williams. I just think,
- 11:53Speaker 4: you know, where else are you gonna get a Luke
- 11:54Speaker 4: Weaver for the Mets next year? That's the only reason
- 11:58Speaker 4: I get it his name's being bantered about everywhere.
- 12:03Speaker 1: Yep.
- 12:04Speaker 2: Also quick correction, just I said Twins are one out
- 12:07Speaker 2: in the wild card, three out in the central right Yep. Yeah,
- 12:11Speaker 2: one out.
- 12:11Speaker 4: Of the playoffs, one out of the playoffs. That's what
- 12:14Speaker 4: teams need to think right now, not oh well, the
- 12:17Speaker 4: playoffs are a crap shoot. They need to think about
- 12:20Speaker 4: getting in right now.
- 12:22Speaker 2: I don't know if the industry and the world believed
- 12:25Speaker 2: that their twins would buy so I like that they
- 12:27Speaker 2: buy in what is considered earlier. It's three days till
- 12:31Speaker 2: the deadline, but it's earlier because no one else is
- 12:33Speaker 2: making trades yet. So I like them making a statement
- 12:35Speaker 2: and the Mets doing the same thing here. Hey, it's
- 12:37Speaker 2: on teams knew it. They've been very clear cut sellers here.
- 12:40Speaker 2: But we're ready to go now. Freddy Peralta, Clay Holmes,
- 12:44Speaker 2: Brooks Raley, Luis, Robert Tyrone, Taylor, maybe Weaver. There's a
- 12:50Speaker 2: lot to be dealt here, There.
- 12:52Speaker 3: Is, and I cannot wait to see it. To all
- 12:54Speaker 3: those Mets fans out there would be ready. There's gonna
- 12:57Speaker 3: be some some crying, there's gonna be some sulking. But
- 13:00Speaker 3: it's the way it is. It shouldn't have been this way.
- 13:03Speaker 3: They've just been just haven't been there all year long.
- 13:05Speaker 2: No, they've been terrible this year, terrible roster construction this year.
- 13:09Speaker 2: It's not the right team. And we're seeing what guys
- 13:13Speaker 2: like Paralta and Clay Holmes are going to go for.
- 13:16Speaker 2: I think there could be more debate with guys like that.
- 13:18Speaker 2: You've got one coming back from an injury, you've got
- 13:20Speaker 2: one who hasn't performed and he's still gonna pitch. Kratz.
- 13:23Speaker 2: I always like to see who's going to pitch and
- 13:25Speaker 2: who isn't. We'll talk more about Casey Meys later. He's
- 13:27Speaker 2: not going to pitch for the Tigers to see if
- 13:29Speaker 2: they can trade him. Schooble did pitch. They gave him
- 13:31Speaker 2: his moment. Freddy P's going to pitch. In my mind,
- 13:34Speaker 2: the reason you pitch, Freddy P is you go, hey, dude,
- 13:36Speaker 2: can you give us a good one on your way
- 13:37Speaker 2: out so that we can up the value here and
- 13:40Speaker 2: you can show everyone you've got the sauce right now?
- 13:43Speaker 4: You figured it out. We didn't. We didn't screw you up.
- 13:46Speaker 4: I have a hard time believing Freddy peralta like regressed
- 13:49Speaker 4: or like this is who I forget who we had
- 13:52Speaker 4: on the other day. But I argued in my own head,
- 13:55Speaker 4: like Freddy Pe' is not that good. Oh it was
- 13:58Speaker 4: a Jorge Casteele, he said, Freddy peas and number three. Sorry.
- 14:02Speaker 4: Freddy P last year was trying to go from number
- 14:05Speaker 4: one status to a status by going deeper into game,
- 14:08Speaker 4: saving some of his bullets, and then he just totally
- 14:11Speaker 4: fell flat on his face. I have a hard time
- 14:14Speaker 4: believing a pitcher does that. And not the organization changing
- 14:19Speaker 4: something about him. And so that's and to me, I
- 14:23Speaker 4: don't like, Like to me, if the Mets overpriced Clay
- 14:27Speaker 4: Holmes because they feel like he's their biggest piece, I'm
- 14:30Speaker 4: going to the Tigers and I'm saying I'd rather have
- 14:32Speaker 4: Casey Mace than Clay Holmes. The numbers would say. So
- 14:36Speaker 4: that's where I'm at.
- 14:38Speaker 2: Yeah, And for me, I'm if I feel like I'm
- 14:42Speaker 2: a fan of my pitching development program or my pitching
- 14:45Speaker 2: not even development, but my pitching staff in the big
- 14:47Speaker 2: league level, my coaching staff there, I'm taking Freddy p
- 14:53Speaker 2: seems healthy. Stuff's there. Some things have changed, not working
- 14:56Speaker 2: the heater up in the zone as much. The defense
- 14:58Speaker 2: behind him is absolutely atrocious. Right, it's a new pitching
- 15:02Speaker 2: regime with the Mets since they got rid of Heffner
- 15:06Speaker 2: between last season and this season. I mean many, not
- 15:08Speaker 2: all of them, but I think some teams are licking
- 15:11Speaker 2: their chops right now, like, let me get this guy
- 15:13Speaker 2: and turn him back into Frank.
- 15:14Speaker 3: We're hoping he doesn't too good on this last outing here,
- 15:16Speaker 3: so people can stay away.
- 15:18Speaker 1: A little bit, so we'll see, we'll see how it goes.
- 15:21Speaker 1: But yes, he is an interesting piece.
- 15:23Speaker 2: Yes, all right, let's step aside. Did you have one
- 15:25Speaker 2: more word crats on this?
- 15:26Speaker 4: No? No, I just had. I just had Tyron Taylor.
- 15:29Speaker 4: I think Tyron Taylor is more value than Luise Robert.
- 15:31Speaker 4: I know people are gonna crucify me for it, but
- 15:35Speaker 4: he is hot right now. You don't have the issues
- 15:39Speaker 4: that you have with Luise Robert with Tyron Taylor. And
- 15:43Speaker 4: I get he's probably more of a platoon, but teams
- 15:45Speaker 4: at this point in the season are looking for a
- 15:47Speaker 4: right handed bat in the outfield. That might be the play.
- 15:50Speaker 4: I'd love to see Freddy p go to Atlanta too,
- 15:53Speaker 4: to go with Jeremy Hefner and Heffner figure him out.
- 15:55Speaker 4: I get it, they're not trading Mets in Atlanta. I
- 15:58Speaker 4: get that's not happening, but boy would I love that
- 16:00Speaker 4: If I want to write a script.
- 16:06Speaker 2: Hey, did you see Casey miz scratched from his start
- 16:10Speaker 2: tonight to see? Okay, yep, he's good. He's just likely
- 16:12Speaker 2: getting traded, so they will have him pitch on Tuesday
- 16:16Speaker 2: in Seattle. If he stays with the team, he is
- 16:19Speaker 2: going to get dealt. So that's what you do. Sometimes
- 16:24Speaker 2: this doesn't always happen. But in this case, they do it.
- 16:27Speaker 2: Jim Bowden, let's roll back to back tweets, Tiger's going
- 16:29Speaker 2: to do the right thing, be the headliner at this
- 16:31Speaker 2: year's trade deadline. Schooble, Miz Glabor, Torres, Kenlee, Jansen now
- 16:35Speaker 2: all expected to be dealt by Monday.
- 16:39Speaker 1: There you go. Wow.
- 16:41Speaker 3: I I think they're doing the right thing. Honestly, I
- 16:45Speaker 3: said it before. I didn't think they'll make the playoffs
- 16:47Speaker 3: this year. I think they're going to get a lot
- 16:52Speaker 3: of good prospects players, I mean round picks.
- 16:57Speaker 1: I don't care what you think of it.
- 16:58Speaker 3: For these guys are going to get a bunch of
- 17:00Speaker 3: guys coming back and they're gonna, you know, pretty much
- 17:03Speaker 3: kind of start over with what they have and move
- 17:06Speaker 3: forward with it. And uh Aj Hinch is gonna be
- 17:09Speaker 3: the guy. You can't ask for a better manager to
- 17:11Speaker 3: do it with. So by Monday, I can't wait to
- 17:14Speaker 3: see what happens here. So something is cooking right now.
- 17:19Speaker 4: Yeah, And like I said before, I really like I
- 17:22Speaker 4: really like Casey myes. Obviously the scoobl they're gonna be
- 17:26Speaker 4: asking the world and you're gonna be going up against
- 17:28Speaker 4: the Dodgers and the package that they're putting against putting
- 17:31Speaker 4: up there. I don't think Casey Mies is a bad
- 17:34Speaker 4: second option, and I think Kenley Jansen. The issue with
- 17:38Speaker 4: trading Kenley Jansen that I'm looking at is does he say, yeah,
- 17:43Speaker 4: I'll throw in the eighth inning? And I'm not saying
- 17:46Speaker 4: he has to say that. I'm just saying, if you
- 17:48Speaker 4: are a contending team, like a true like one of
- 17:51Speaker 4: the top five best teams in the game, do you
- 17:55Speaker 4: need a closer? Because does his game play as well?
- 18:00Speaker 4: And he's not a closer when he's not closing games out.
- 18:02Speaker 4: And to me, Labor Torres is that right handed bat
- 18:05Speaker 4: that I think there's a little bit more juice left
- 18:07Speaker 4: in his bat here this year. He's only got five pumps.
- 18:10Speaker 4: But you know, I think he can make a big,
- 18:13Speaker 4: significant move. But I don't think it's gonna be rebuild
- 18:17Speaker 4: like Todd kind of insinuated. To me, I think they're
- 18:21Speaker 4: still going to think, well, we can do something for Detroit.
- 18:26Speaker 2: They're calling up Max Clark this weekend. Riley had a
- 18:31Speaker 2: good year. Kevin McGonagall obviously is on the top rookies
- 18:36Speaker 2: in the sport. What's weird the timing with Clark Todd.
- 18:39Speaker 4: When you get no the timing, I get it, Like hey, guys,
- 18:41Speaker 4: like hey, look over here, Max Clark, Max Clark, Schooble,
- 18:45Speaker 4: go Scooble, get out of here.
- 18:47Speaker 2: All right, let's get to the next starter. So this
- 18:48Speaker 2: is part of why you know Detroit's going look at
- 18:52Speaker 2: this opportunity.
- 18:53Speaker 1: We have.
- 18:54Speaker 2: Schooble's gonna get dealt, Casey Might is gonna get dealt.
- 18:56Speaker 2: That's a big return really for both obviously school and
- 18:59Speaker 2: another category. I'm just curious to see how crazy the
- 19:04Speaker 2: trade market gets for starting pitchers. Enter Hunter Green to
- 19:08Speaker 2: the mix. This one's you want Hunter Green pitching a
- 19:12Speaker 2: playoff game. If you're a team looking for some starting
- 19:15Speaker 2: pitching juice, don't look at the line for him right
- 19:17Speaker 2: now too. He just got back and the first start
- 19:19Speaker 2: was really messy. But then he's he's looking the same
- 19:24Speaker 2: after that, he's slicing and dicing, picking up punchies. So
- 19:28Speaker 2: Mark finesand reports there's a fifty to fifty chance that
- 19:32Speaker 2: Hunter Green could be moved this week. That's a pretty
- 19:35Speaker 2: high percentage. Do you think that the Red should move him?
- 19:39Speaker 2: Because what does that look like going forward? This team
- 19:42Speaker 2: has built a nice stable of promising pitching. They probably
- 19:47Speaker 2: are frustrated too. I mean it's I'm not saying it's
- 19:50Speaker 2: Hunter's fault, obviously, but he's dealt with some injuries. He's
- 19:52Speaker 2: missed some significant time for this team obviously this year.
- 19:57Speaker 2: What does the team look like if he had been
- 19:59Speaker 2: back sooner, it might I have made much of a difference.
- 20:01Speaker 2: But you know, he missed a good chunk of the
- 20:04Speaker 2: season to start here, right. He got back this month,
- 20:09Speaker 2: so he's got a few years of control lefts like
- 20:14Speaker 2: he's even got I guess a twenty you can have
- 20:17Speaker 2: him through twenty twenty nine, so you could have him six, seven,
- 20:22Speaker 2: eight nine. You could have a four year run with
- 20:25Speaker 2: Hunter Green if you pick up the club option in
- 20:27Speaker 2: twenty twenty nine for twenty one mil. For a top
- 20:30Speaker 2: end starter. That's pebbles these days pretty much.
- 20:33Speaker 1: I am not a fan of trading him too soon,
- 20:37Speaker 1: right too soon.
- 20:37Speaker 3: I mean, you got him and Chase Burns. It could
- 20:40Speaker 3: be in Cincinnati for the next four or five years,
- 20:43Speaker 3: making some noise. These two guys. I know Hunter's been hurt.
- 20:46Speaker 3: Unless the Reds know something that we don't know, and
- 20:49Speaker 3: you can't really hide anything nowadays. This is a guy
- 20:52Speaker 3: that I would not want to trade. They got two
- 20:55Speaker 3: prolific starters. I'm talking about really really good starters here.
- 21:00Speaker 3: I mean you got Abbott, you got a couple guys.
- 21:03Speaker 3: I mean there's guys there that are itching to play
- 21:07Speaker 3: in Cincinnati and stay there. You have to keep these
- 21:10Speaker 3: two guys to move forward and get to the playoffs.
- 21:14Speaker 1: Yeah, injuries will come and go.
- 21:15Speaker 3: But guess what when Hunter Green is not injured and
- 21:18Speaker 3: he's been ready and worked his tail off, he is filthy,
- 21:21Speaker 3: He throws hard, he is really good. They could have
- 21:24Speaker 3: this one two punch for the next three or four years.
- 21:26Speaker 3: I don't see. Unless something magical is sitting on your
- 21:30Speaker 3: table to dream come true, there's no way I'm trading
- 21:33Speaker 3: this guy.
- 21:35Speaker 4: I mean, he's got to be some kind of bat
- 21:37Speaker 4: because clearly the Reds, unbeknownst to me, I have no idea,
- 21:41Speaker 4: why don't score runs in Cincinnati? Like I thought this
- 21:45Speaker 4: lineup was gonna be, was gonna really rival the type
- 21:49Speaker 4: of lineup that you were a part of, Todd like,
- 21:52Speaker 4: and now they've really they've really built a pitching dynasty.
- 21:57Speaker 4: So to me, if you can get something for Hunter,
- 22:00Speaker 4: it has to be something that you've been lacking the
- 22:02Speaker 4: last three years, and that is a mega impact back.
- 22:07Speaker 4: And I don't know who that would be, not don't
- 22:09Speaker 4: don't let me see, don't let me see Hunter Green
- 22:12Speaker 4: for you know, four or five double A and below
- 22:16Speaker 4: type of prospects, because then every every other one of
- 22:19Speaker 4: these position player prospects or position players on this team
- 22:23Speaker 4: will age out before they contend.
- 22:27Speaker 3: Yeah, and I think what hurts them here Steer getting hurt.
- 22:30Speaker 3: I think that was one guy they wanted to trade.
- 22:33Speaker 3: Matty McClain just hasn't been the same dude. I was
- 22:35Speaker 3: looking for this guy to be an absolute beast. He
- 22:39Speaker 3: came out hot. I know, yeah, I got injured too
- 22:41Speaker 3: as well. But you know, a couple guys that I
- 22:44Speaker 3: was really looking forward to watching for a long time
- 22:47Speaker 3: be a Red. But now there's an opportunity for Steer
- 22:50Speaker 3: to get traded. I love South Stewart, absolutely love what
- 22:55Speaker 3: he's doing. Everything about him. I think he's a beast.
- 22:58Speaker 3: I think him and Ellie daily Cruz would be a
- 22:59Speaker 3: good little combination moving forward if ally can figure out
- 23:02Speaker 3: a little bit too as well. But there's a lot,
- 23:05Speaker 3: it's a lot here for the Reds, and they really
- 23:07Speaker 3: have to. They should keep Hunter Green and then you know,
- 23:10Speaker 3: hopefully trade a couple of guys that you know right
- 23:13Speaker 3: now that they don't see in the future.
- 23:16Speaker 2: It just doesn't make sense. We have years left of
- 23:21Speaker 2: Hunter Green on this current contract. If it's a couple
- 23:25Speaker 2: of years left, you want to talk cool four.
- 23:30Speaker 3: Yeah, there's got to be something really special they get back,
- 23:34Speaker 3: you know what I mean. It's like, hey, we're willing
- 23:36Speaker 3: to trade them, but talk to me, like, you know,
- 23:39Speaker 3: it's got to be it's got to be dinner and dessert,
- 23:42Speaker 3: if you know what I want.
- 23:44Speaker 2: Thanksgiving for Hunter Green right now. I get it, right,
- 23:48Speaker 2: some injuries in there, but I mean when he's pitching
- 23:51Speaker 2: krats like he can, you can start a playoff series
- 23:54Speaker 2: for Yes.
- 23:56Speaker 4: I get it, I get it. But it's one of
- 23:58Speaker 4: those things. And I think I get all trade deadlines.
- 24:02Speaker 4: The team that's most advantageous with their strengths, I think
- 24:08Speaker 4: takes advantage of the trade deadline and the Reds that
- 24:12Speaker 4: is that is a advantage they have. They can create pitching,
- 24:17Speaker 4: enhance pitching, whatever way you want to look at it,
- 24:20Speaker 4: and they have some dudes, so to me, yeah, I
- 24:25Speaker 4: just I ever since you guys brought it up. I
- 24:28Speaker 4: just am trying to think of what that impact bat
- 24:31Speaker 4: would be that the Reds would be, Like, whoa, we
- 24:35Speaker 4: got South Stewart, Ellie de la Cruz and player X
- 24:40Speaker 4: for the next four years, let's get it. I just
- 24:43Speaker 4: don't know who that would be.
- 24:48Speaker 2: Yeah, and we'll have to sift through a lot of things,
- 24:50Speaker 2: Like I'm going at it right now. In the chat,
- 24:52Speaker 2: they're like, the Reds just said that they're not trading him.
- 24:55Speaker 2: I'm good with that. I said, who said that, Nick Caral,
- 24:57Speaker 2: the leader of the front office. No, it was from
- 24:59Speaker 2: some Okay, who Okay?
- 25:04Speaker 4: Yeah, what if somebody wants Lodolo? What if somebody wants
- 25:09Speaker 4: Andrew rabbit Less control? What would that price be? You know,
- 25:12Speaker 4: shoot for the moon. You're asking for somebody and then
- 25:16Speaker 4: shoot for the stars. Maybe you hit the moon. That
- 25:18Speaker 4: kind of thing. They have a lot of good pitching.
- 25:20Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 25:21Speaker 3: But but also I'll give you an example. Buddy of mine,
- 25:23Speaker 3: Andrew Fisher, who we've had in minor league, absolutely tearing
- 25:25Speaker 3: it up. His dad or buddy of his dad hits
- 25:28Speaker 3: me up, say, bro, so you're gonna go to the Mets.
- 25:30Speaker 3: You see this article, I'm like the Bruise would be
- 25:34Speaker 3: not very smart if they were to trade away their
- 25:36Speaker 3: number one prospect, You know what I mean. There's articles
- 25:38Speaker 3: left and right. You you could believe what you want.
- 25:41Speaker 3: But at the same time, unless your agent's telling you,
- 25:44Speaker 3: or you're hearing from the top dogs, I don't believe
- 25:47Speaker 3: anything that's really said unless we're talking about some of
- 25:50Speaker 3: the top guys in the systems, you know, like like
- 25:54Speaker 3: the Buster, all these the Kirchens, the you know, Ken
- 25:57Speaker 3: Rosen Dolls of the world.
- 25:58Speaker 1: So other than that, I don't believe anybody.
- 26:01Speaker 2: All right, let's keep moving. Let's go to the Mariners.
- 26:05Speaker 2: Where we at on this team. I mean, they lost
- 26:07Speaker 2: again last night to the Dodgers. This is tough timing
- 26:11Speaker 2: to be taking on the best team in baseball when
- 26:14Speaker 2: you're trying to prove to your front office that you
- 26:16Speaker 2: would like them to invest more into the big league
- 26:20Speaker 2: lineup come trade deadline time. They're at fifty three and
- 26:23Speaker 2: fifty seven. Adam Jude Seattle Times writing about them last night,
- 26:28Speaker 2: and a quote from Brian Wu front office coaches, everybody
- 26:31Speaker 2: put enough into the product on the field time for
- 26:33Speaker 2: us to do something about it. Aj documented how Wu
- 26:37Speaker 2: has been tail of two dudes, home and Road some
- 26:41Speaker 2: of the bigger roads home road splits you'll see. But
- 26:44Speaker 2: where are we at here, Kratz. I mean we're not
- 26:47Speaker 2: playing buy or sell. It's more buy or hold, you know,
- 26:50Speaker 2: like heavy buy or light by I think is the
- 26:53Speaker 2: game to play with the Mariners, they're not selling. They're
- 26:56Speaker 2: right in the mix of a crappy division in the
- 26:58Speaker 2: al West. But do you believe a team has to
- 27:01Speaker 2: show you a certain level of production by this point
- 27:06Speaker 2: to say, yeah, this is the year, guys, I smell it,
- 27:08Speaker 2: this is the World Series team. I'll I'll tell you,
- 27:11Speaker 2: I don't know right Like, I still see a core
- 27:14Speaker 2: of pieces here that can get hot at the right time.
- 27:16Speaker 2: I'm saying for a team like Seattle, I always look
- 27:19Speaker 2: back at twenty twenty one Atlanta Braves hovering around this
- 27:23Speaker 2: range up until about this time, and then they took off.
- 27:26Speaker 2: They made a number of deals and they won the
- 27:28Speaker 2: World Series.
- 27:30Speaker 4: Number of small deals. I mean they went and got
- 27:34Speaker 4: I mean shot. I'm gonna even forget who it was.
- 27:36Speaker 4: I can vision, but it was John Peterson, duval Adam
- 27:42Speaker 4: Duvall like Little God.
- 27:45Speaker 2: Ended up being a big addition wow time.
- 27:47Speaker 4: But he was hurt and then he comes back and
- 27:49Speaker 4: he wins the MVP of the World Series. So I
- 27:53Speaker 4: don't discount little moves as saying, oh, we didn't do
- 27:56Speaker 4: anything with a team like the Mariners, because the Mariners
- 28:02Speaker 4: did their heavy lifting in the offseason. Kudos to them,
- 28:05Speaker 4: kudos you were like, we loved what we saw in
- 28:08Speaker 4: Josh Naylor. We're bringing them back. You know what, we
- 28:11Speaker 4: won another platoon advantage, even though we signed Roblaze to
- 28:15Speaker 4: a weird extension that the other people in the game
- 28:18Speaker 4: didn't quite see. But hey, you know what, you did it.
- 28:21Speaker 4: Then you went on and got Ref Schneider probably one
- 28:23Speaker 4: of the best right handed bats against lefties, sons Randall Gritchek.
- 28:29Speaker 4: So I think they made a lot of really good moves.
- 28:32Speaker 4: And I think this trade deadline a little move here,
- 28:36Speaker 4: a little move there. Ultimately, Charlie Manuel will let you
- 28:40Speaker 4: know water levels out because if Julio Rodriguez returns to form,
- 28:46Speaker 4: which I think he will end up with over at
- 28:48Speaker 4: eight hundred ops, Kyle Rowley just needs to go back
- 28:51Speaker 4: to like a little bit below his like normal production,
- 28:56Speaker 4: not last year. Last year ain't happening, Just a little
- 28:59Speaker 4: bit below normal production. That's going to be a massive upgrade.
- 29:03Speaker 4: And that coupled with Dominic Canzone, who's their best hitter
- 29:08Speaker 4: right now and probably is going to get some MVP votes. Like,
- 29:12Speaker 4: this team has the pieces to do it. This is
- 29:16Speaker 4: up to the players. This is not a front office.
- 29:18Speaker 4: This is up to the players. So a little piece here,
- 29:20Speaker 4: little piece there, maybe, but no, this is the team
- 29:24Speaker 4: they got to win it. Or it was a failed
- 29:26Speaker 4: season for him.
- 29:27Speaker 1: Yep.
- 29:28Speaker 3: And I'll be quick. It just seems like it's the
- 29:31Speaker 3: same old these last couple of years. Great pitching, they
- 29:34Speaker 3: can need hitting, and now like nothing in my opinion,
- 29:38Speaker 3: so ah god, I'm like selling between here because I
- 29:43Speaker 3: love I love everything about the Mariners.
- 29:44Speaker 1: It's just it's been a couple of years now. We've
- 29:46Speaker 1: been talking the same old story.
- 29:48Speaker 2: Yeah, but they were went away from the World Series
- 29:49Speaker 2: last year.
- 29:50Speaker 1: I get it. How much it doesn't seem like it here.
- 29:53Speaker 2: I mean, no, this year, it doesn't, you know what.
- 29:55Speaker 1: I mean, I don't. I don't know. I don't know.
- 29:58Speaker 1: I just don't.
- 30:00Speaker 3: I'm just very confused about them, and I get what
- 30:02Speaker 3: you're saying, maybe because I don't watch them as much.
- 30:05Speaker 1: It's just they're just the Mariners. I don't know.
- 30:07Speaker 3: I'm just take I just feel like it's World Series
- 30:11Speaker 3: or bust for this team since we've been talking about
- 30:13Speaker 3: so much how good their pitchers, they're the best in
- 30:15Speaker 3: the league, and it just they haven't gotten to a
- 30:17Speaker 3: World Series.
- 30:18Speaker 2: So then that's why for me, I'm like, he'll ask, yeah,
- 30:22Speaker 2: six right.
- 30:22Speaker 4: Six guys. Six guys have made They've used six starters
- 30:26Speaker 4: the entire year. Take advantage of it.
- 30:29Speaker 2: There you go, They've got something special with their pitching
- 30:33Speaker 2: program that they've actually consistently been able to do this.
- 30:36Speaker 1: That's what they should trade for.
- 30:37Speaker 3: They should trade for some of those coaches and stuff
- 30:40Speaker 3: and know how to fix these things.
- 30:41Speaker 2: We'll fix the offense. They got they they got they
- 30:45Speaker 2: We talked a lot about that. They got rid of
- 30:47Speaker 2: their third in command hitting coach, thinking that's going to
- 30:49Speaker 2: change the world. But they're just throwing things. It's the
- 30:52Speaker 2: dartboard status right now to try and see if they
- 30:54Speaker 2: can fix the offense. A good way to fix the
- 30:56Speaker 2: offense is maybe to pick up a bat, he said.
- 30:58Speaker 2: One executive says they're more teams posturing quote, we are
- 31:01Speaker 2: going to sell and buy than he can ever remember.
- 31:05Speaker 2: I guess that's the trend this year. He added, what
- 31:08Speaker 2: does that mean? Let me show you an example, the
- 31:11Speaker 2: Pittsburgh Pirates looking at Camillo Duval from the Yankees. This
- 31:16Speaker 2: report coming from the New York Posts Joel Sherman. He
- 31:20Speaker 2: has had a rough year, thirty seven innings for eight
- 31:23Speaker 2: sixty ra Todd, You've seen plenty of Camillo Duval. The
- 31:28Speaker 2: stuff's there. I don't want to say change of scenery.
- 31:30Speaker 2: It's like he just got there. He's only been with
- 31:32Speaker 2: the team for about a year. But when we say
- 31:34Speaker 2: buy and sell, the Yankees aren't just selling, but they
- 31:37Speaker 2: might sell away a piece like this while they also
- 31:40Speaker 2: buy this all it opens up roster spots, It acquires prospects.
- 31:45Speaker 2: The Dodgers are probably going to sell a piece or two.
- 31:47Speaker 2: There's been a lot written about Alex call and Eric
- 31:50Speaker 2: lower and some of the guys on the fringes of
- 31:52Speaker 2: their roster. So your thoughts on how that works for
- 31:56Speaker 2: the Yankees. You've also seen him pitch. You think he
- 32:00Speaker 2: can go help a team like Pittsburgh when they've had
- 32:02Speaker 2: significant bullpen problems and be out of the limelight. It's
- 32:05Speaker 2: it's a little more chilling Pittsburgh.
- 32:07Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean listen.
- 32:08Speaker 3: The example I give is when I got traded from
- 32:10Speaker 3: the you know, I'm just being honest, from the White
- 32:12Speaker 3: Sox to the Yankees. They wanted Kanelee and oh my god,
- 32:20Speaker 3: Dave roberts and they're like, well, they probably said Robertson, Robertson, Yeah, listen,
- 32:25Speaker 3: you gotta take Todd with you.
- 32:26Speaker 1: I'm listen.
- 32:28Speaker 3: I don't know if that's a fact, but in my
- 32:30Speaker 3: heart and gut, I feel like that might have been
- 32:32Speaker 3: the issue.
- 32:33Speaker 1: Not saying that I'm a bad player.
- 32:34Speaker 3: But at the same time, I know the Red Sox
- 32:37Speaker 3: wanted me too, So there's different angles and ways to
- 32:39Speaker 3: go about it. Yeah, if you got to trade away
- 32:42Speaker 3: some of the guys selling wise, you're gonna have to
- 32:45Speaker 3: get rid of another piece that's actually pretty good, that
- 32:48Speaker 3: has been helping the team. And I think the ball
- 32:50Speaker 3: would help anywhere. I just think he's just got to
- 32:52Speaker 3: be more consistent with his pitches, and getting away from
- 32:55Speaker 3: a big market team I think would help him too,
- 32:57Speaker 3: maybe more relaxed and just go out there and be
- 33:00Speaker 3: the picture he is. He's been, he's done. He's done
- 33:03Speaker 3: good for the Yankees, but overall too, he's thrown a
- 33:05Speaker 3: lot of pitches. His stuff is there. It's just gotta
- 33:08Speaker 3: be consistent.
- 33:10Speaker 1: Hmmm.
- 33:11Speaker 4: Yeah, it was also struggling. He was with the Yanks
- 33:13Speaker 4: with the Giants too before he went to the Yankees,
- 33:15Speaker 4: so there's that. And if they're looking for a closer,
- 33:18Speaker 4: they got rid of him last year and Bednar, so
- 33:21Speaker 4: there's that.
- 33:22Speaker 1: To me.
- 33:22Speaker 4: I think if the if the Pirates do something, not
- 33:24Speaker 4: if they're gonna do something. They didn't buy Pirates way
- 33:29Speaker 4: before this season, and they're not gonna waste Brandon Lowe's
- 33:33Speaker 4: you know, trading for Brandon Lowe. I think it's gonna
- 33:37Speaker 4: be like a Kenley Jansen to close because they're a
- 33:39Speaker 4: team that needs a closer, and then they'll try to
- 33:42Speaker 4: fit in. You don't fit in another piece in that bullpen,
- 33:46Speaker 4: So if they get two pieces, it will definitely be
- 33:49Speaker 4: an upgrade.
- 33:53Speaker 2: They need at least too. Some teams have very clear
- 33:56Speaker 2: cut needs. And the one thing that we always mentioned
- 33:59Speaker 2: that is the easiest to find around this time is
- 34:02Speaker 2: relief pitching. You gotta pay the piper for the big boys.
- 34:06Speaker 1: But everybody knows you need it.
- 34:08Speaker 2: The mid tier, like we just saw in the last
- 34:09Speaker 2: two days, AJ Minter and Chase sil Seth go. They
- 34:13Speaker 2: might not be the sexiest names, although Minter was one
- 34:15Speaker 2: of the best in the sport for a bit. They're
- 34:18Speaker 2: going to be helpful. Chase Silseth, nice year, mintor looking
- 34:23Speaker 2: good now that he's back. Those guys are going to
- 34:26Speaker 2: be helpful. So that's what Pittsburgh needs to do. Crats
- 34:29Speaker 2: like those types is probably more realistic. No, like at
- 34:33Speaker 2: least one of those and then a Kenley at.
- 34:37Speaker 4: Least one of those types. You know, that guy that has,
- 34:40Speaker 4: you know, maybe a tick north of a strikeout per
- 34:44Speaker 4: inning some and sil Seth would have been great mentor
- 34:49Speaker 4: would have been great in that pen. But I also
- 34:51Speaker 4: think when they get like, let's say it's just two guys,
- 34:54Speaker 4: it's a Kenley, because they do need a bona fide closer.
- 34:57Speaker 4: It's a Kenley and another piece, we're gonna start to
- 35:00Speaker 4: see that they do have some pieces in that bullpen
- 35:04Speaker 4: that are good, really good in the sixth, seventh inning
- 35:08Speaker 4: and in the playoffs. You need to have those pieces
- 35:12Speaker 4: not be in the eighth and ninth inning like they
- 35:15Speaker 4: are right now. I mean, I think Santana, who they
- 35:18Speaker 4: just dfa'd probably could have been a really good player
- 35:21Speaker 4: had he not been pushed into the toughest spots of
- 35:25Speaker 4: every game, and you know what, now he's DFAD. So
- 35:28Speaker 4: I think there's value in having guys take up those
- 35:32Speaker 4: tougher innings. Even though everyone says it's just three outs,
- 35:36Speaker 4: We've had pictures on that say that's not true. I
- 35:39Speaker 4: think that's where the pirates will definitely find a ton
- 35:41Speaker 4: of value.
- 35:42Speaker 2: If you want a little MLB no Sweat home run token,
- 35:45Speaker 2: that means you might place a home run pick and
- 35:50Speaker 2: activate that token on any player to hit a home
- 35:52Speaker 2: run in an MLB game. The problem is if that
- 35:54Speaker 2: player doesn't go yard, you could get your stake back
- 35:56Speaker 2: in bonus bets. Go check it all out. Inside the
- 35:59Speaker 2: bet MGM app gambling problem or concern, there's help called
- 36:03Speaker 2: one eight hundred Gambler Looking Ahead is presented by Fox one.
- 36:12Speaker 2: It is hug Watch weekend krats. So, for example, you
- 36:18Speaker 2: have the two Fox games this week and of Diamondbacks
- 36:21Speaker 2: Guardians along with the Yankees matching up against the Cubs. Now,
- 36:27Speaker 2: hug Watch for the Yankees and Cubs actually could be
- 36:30Speaker 2: a thing. We just talked about camillea do ball that
- 36:32Speaker 2: could be a hug Watch right there. If they do
- 36:35Speaker 2: some selling. Those two teams are mostly gonna do buying,
- 36:38Speaker 2: but they could do a little bit of both, like
- 36:39Speaker 2: we talked about earlier in the show, and on the
- 36:43Speaker 2: Diamondbacks and Guardian side, you could see a little bit
- 36:45Speaker 2: of both from them too, So there could be some
- 36:47Speaker 2: hug watch going on.
- 36:49Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm not I don't necessarily like the hug watch
- 36:53Speaker 4: in the big leagues. I like the hug watch in
- 36:55Speaker 4: the in the minor leagues. That's when the dudes are like, what,
- 36:58Speaker 4: I gotta get on a flight to get Frisco. I
- 37:02Speaker 4: gotta go to Round Rock, I gotta go to But
- 37:05Speaker 4: the other one the other day, the best one was,
- 37:07Speaker 4: I think it was Meckler with the Angels Saul Logan
- 37:12Speaker 4: o'happy walk away, and he was like, he gets traded.
- 37:16Speaker 4: What like at least when you get hugged in the
- 37:19Speaker 4: in the dugout, you know, like your teammates knew that
- 37:23Speaker 4: you got traded. When dudes are just like hey what no, Like, no,
- 37:29Speaker 4: he didn't get it, he got sent down, It's like, yeah,
- 37:32Speaker 4: well he wasn't playing good.
- 37:36Speaker 2: Hug him and leave him. That's it, man, What do
- 37:38Speaker 2: you have for me? On Yankees' Cubs, This weekend. Yankee's
- 37:43Speaker 2: gonna score some runs.
- 37:44Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 37:45Speaker 3: I don't know, man, This Cubs team has been playing
- 37:47Speaker 3: really well. Might have to put the hat down like that.
- 37:49Speaker 1: Yeah, no, listen.
- 37:52Speaker 3: They won the first two games against the White Sox
- 37:54Speaker 3: and kind of fizzled there a little bit. It's been
- 37:57Speaker 3: a really peculiar year, you know what I mean. And
- 38:00Speaker 3: it's like they come out they're really hot, and then
- 38:02Speaker 3: when they're really bad, they're really bad. So hopefully this
- 38:06Speaker 3: is not the sign of more losses to come. But
- 38:08Speaker 3: you're in regular field, an early game, not used to
- 38:12Speaker 3: playing that many early games.
- 38:13Speaker 1: You're professional. They should be fine.
- 38:15Speaker 3: But they're facing you know, some really good I mean,
- 38:19Speaker 3: what's am I saying that?
- 38:21Speaker 1: Right?
- 38:21Speaker 2: Yeah, that's that's I know.
- 38:23Speaker 1: No, I'm thinking I'm going through the whole thing.
- 38:24Speaker 3: Yeah, not going and Drew Peterson, who they've seen before,
- 38:28Speaker 3: but Drew's done pretty well against them.
- 38:31Speaker 2: If I recall David or David still David.
- 38:36Speaker 1: Drew the reliever, bro, I know who Drew.
- 38:39Speaker 2: Keep saying David until you gave it to.
- 38:40Speaker 1: Me, I know Drew was the right handed reliever.
- 38:44Speaker 2: Yes, you're right, there is it Drew Peterson.
- 38:47Speaker 1: But yes, I don't know. I'm in between on this
- 38:50Speaker 1: one here.
- 38:50Speaker 4: Okay, you know what I want to watch with this
- 38:53Speaker 4: p is hot pa Is. I'm not saying he's the
- 38:58Speaker 4: most exciting player to watch, but he's actually what Jazz
- 39:02Speaker 4: Chisholm wants to be in the sense of like the limelight,
- 39:06Speaker 4: like the dude, like somebody that's an actual MVP type
- 39:11Speaker 4: of candidate. I want to see this. I mean, maybe
- 39:15Speaker 4: I'm wrong, but PCA knows. PCA knows, and he plays
- 39:19Speaker 4: off of it. He loves it when the tarps off
- 39:21Speaker 4: crew and Saint Louis is like turning their back and
- 39:24Speaker 4: he doesn't have a good game. Next game he shows out,
- 39:27Speaker 4: Like to me, this dude, is you play well? I
- 39:30Speaker 4: don't care what anybody says. Yes, your war number? What
- 39:33Speaker 4: is his war seven point one right now? Like he's
- 39:36Speaker 4: beating show hey to me when you show out. And
- 39:40Speaker 4: this was something that Ryan Samberg, it's ironic. We're talking
- 39:42Speaker 4: about the Cubs. Ryan Samberg told us about the year
- 39:44Speaker 4: he won the MVP. It was the massive game he
- 39:47Speaker 4: had on the Game of the Week. This is the
- 39:49Speaker 4: series of the year for PCA, not that like it
- 39:55Speaker 4: makes a breath that it's something that his flash his
- 39:58Speaker 4: limelight going up ag the Yankees in Wrigley like he
- 40:02Speaker 4: must protect this house. I want to see it.
- 40:06Speaker 2: And we'll talk to Ken later. But he's on that
- 40:08Speaker 2: game Yankees cups. And it's not just watching the game
- 40:11Speaker 2: over the weekend, it's watching the trades and then with
- 40:14Speaker 2: Ken on the broadcast, all the trades are going down
- 40:17Speaker 2: like that is that is yeah, But but AJ's not
- 40:24Speaker 2: freaking out. He's just doing the game. Ken is doing
- 40:26Speaker 2: the game and the reporting on the trades at the
- 40:29Speaker 2: same time, which is just a lot. But you want
- 40:33Speaker 2: to be on that broadcast to hear when Ken's jumping
- 40:36Speaker 2: in about a particular trade. On the other side the
- 40:39Speaker 2: other game that they're running on Fox and on the
- 40:41Speaker 2: Fox one app, Guardians and Diamondbacks. Where are we at
- 40:44Speaker 2: with those two teams? You know me? I feel like
- 40:47Speaker 2: I've been the high guy on the Diamondbacks, right so
- 40:51Speaker 2: I'm still buying what they're cooking this year, and I
- 40:53Speaker 2: think they should buy Kratz. Where are you at on
- 40:56Speaker 2: those two teams? Cleveland's obviously hanging around Cleveland at this
- 40:59Speaker 2: time line last year did not look like much and
- 41:02Speaker 2: what happened to them? I mean, they didn't go deep
- 41:04Speaker 2: into the postseason, but they made one of the more
- 41:07Speaker 2: ridiculous runs to take down the Division that scene in
- 41:10Speaker 2: baseball history. It just goes to show you that sometimes
- 41:13Speaker 2: we talk about a team at this point in the year,
- 41:16Speaker 2: we're just about to turn the page to August and
- 41:19Speaker 2: we're like, eh, and then the narrative changes fast. Kind
- 41:23Speaker 2: of like Boston.
- 41:24Speaker 4: Kratz similar to Boston. But I like the Guardians better
- 41:29Speaker 4: than I like Boston, so there's that. I think they're
- 41:31Speaker 4: starting pitching is really solid. I think they have guys
- 41:36Speaker 4: who just I think they have enough mix of a
- 41:40Speaker 4: few veteran guys on that team and Josey and Austin Hedges,
- 41:44Speaker 4: and enough mix of just dudes who are like, I
- 41:47Speaker 4: don't even know what we're doing here, We're just going
- 41:49Speaker 4: out and playing baseball, and they just go out and compete.
- 41:53Speaker 4: I love the Guardians, but I can't turn away from
- 41:56Speaker 4: watching a Diamondbacks game. I think that lineup is special.
- 42:02Speaker 4: I think they don't have enough starting pitching to sustain this,
- 42:06Speaker 4: but I think what that lineup, the way they run
- 42:09Speaker 4: the bases, the way they're just aggressive and everything, and
- 42:13Speaker 4: I love Corbyn Carroll and I love when Ktell Marte
- 42:16Speaker 4: is hot, but Corbyn Carroll makes me one. I'm like,
- 42:18Speaker 4: how many at bats away till Corbyn Carrol, I'm gonna
- 42:20Speaker 4: make sure I'm I'm sticking to this game, and I
- 42:22Speaker 4: end up watching three quarters of a of a Diamondbacks game.
- 42:25Speaker 4: So I like the Diamonbacks actually a little bit more
- 42:27Speaker 4: than the Guardians, but I think it's going to be opposite.
- 42:30Speaker 4: I don't think the Diamondbacks make the playoffs and I
- 42:32Speaker 4: think the Guardians do.
- 42:36Speaker 2: Well.
- 42:37Speaker 1: I afference right, well, well it happened, We don't know,
- 42:41Speaker 1: but that's my assessment too.
- 42:43Speaker 2: And El's better than the Al this year. Hey, if
- 42:45Speaker 2: you want to check out those games. MLB on Fox
- 42:48Speaker 2: is streaming on Fox one. The Race October starts and
- 42:52Speaker 2: now we have your front row seat. Follow every campus matchup,
- 42:55Speaker 2: his team's battle for a spot in the postseason. Then
- 42:57Speaker 2: stream the twenty twenty six postseason and were series live
- 43:01Speaker 2: on Fox one at Homer on the Go live or
- 43:03Speaker 2: on demand, never miss a moment. Stream. Now let's drop
- 43:09Speaker 2: a Ken report, shall we. It's on the Big Boy
- 43:12Speaker 2: Trek scouble. Do you think that money could hold back
- 43:16Speaker 2: a team from acquiring Trek's schoogl example would be Milwaukee Brewers.
- 43:20Speaker 2: He's O ten mil for the rest of the season.
- 43:23Speaker 2: Ken's report moments ago Brewers would absorb schoogles salary in
- 43:29Speaker 2: a potential deal. So Ken said, if the Brewers are
- 43:34Speaker 2: able to land him, despite being in the smallest market
- 43:38Speaker 2: in baseball, they are willing to take on the rest
- 43:40Speaker 2: of schoogle salary. According to a person briefed on their discussion,
- 43:45Speaker 2: that's huge news in my mind for Milwaukee, because if
- 43:48Speaker 2: you're going to land someone like this, guess what is
- 43:50Speaker 2: going to be a difficult phone call. Hey, we want Schooble,
- 43:55Speaker 2: but we'd like you to eat some of the contract
- 43:57Speaker 2: for a top three starting pitcher in the sport. That
- 44:02Speaker 2: would be a tough call. So instead you're like, cool,
- 44:05Speaker 2: we can take on the money and we're gonna have
- 44:07Speaker 2: the top prospect package. And that's how you land someone
- 44:09Speaker 2: like this, and that's how you create your CC Sabbathia
- 44:11Speaker 2: moment from twenty years ago.
- 44:14Speaker 3: Yeah, you're Milwaukee, and if I'm any teams ten millions
- 44:17Speaker 3: should not bother me. Small market or not.
- 44:20Speaker 2: People are gonna you're gonna make that back, maybe on
- 44:23Speaker 2: schoobl starts in the regular season. Yes, that that place
- 44:26Speaker 2: is going to fill up. You know how it is.
- 44:27Speaker 2: Skrats they do a nice job filling it up anyway,
- 44:29Speaker 2: Jersey Sales, they will fill it up to watch.
- 44:33Speaker 3: Bobblehead like that. There's there's all things you could do
- 44:35Speaker 3: with them. Mike, he's a new guy in town. He's
- 44:37Speaker 3: the best picture in the big leagues. Yeah, this money
- 44:41Speaker 3: shouldn't be the problem. So yeah, Brewers talk about money,
- 44:45Speaker 3: but if you're in it, ten million dollars should not be.
- 44:50Speaker 3: It's a lot of money, I'm letting you know. But
- 44:54Speaker 3: to get the best picture in baseball, that's an easy
- 44:58Speaker 3: yes for me.
- 45:01Speaker 4: I walked out when I was leaving the American Family
- 45:04Speaker 4: Financial Field. I walked out with Mark Antonassio, the owner
- 45:07Speaker 4: of the Brewers, and just the way he talked about
- 45:11Speaker 4: winning a World Series, the way he talked about needing
- 45:14Speaker 4: the pieces that they are wanting, the pieces that they need.
- 45:19Speaker 4: I'm not surprised by this report for one second.
- 45:24Speaker 2: One other thing about Milwaukee Crats before we get to
- 45:26Speaker 2: our next guest. Do you know the team in last
- 45:29Speaker 2: place in home runs in all of baseball this year?
- 45:33Speaker 4: Milwaukee?
- 45:34Speaker 2: Yeah? Are you okay with that, Yes, okay.
- 45:39Speaker 4: Because you're not gonna add You're not gonna You're not
- 45:41Speaker 4: gonna all of a sudden become middle of a tier
- 45:43Speaker 4: in the league just because you add one guy.
- 45:48Speaker 2: But you don't think the team needs a little more
- 45:51Speaker 2: pop than last in the league to win a World Series.
- 45:54Speaker 2: How that translates. No, it's okay if you don't.
- 45:56Speaker 1: Okay, I do not.
- 45:58Speaker 4: As long as you're winning, defense, athleticism, defense, and great pitching,
- 46:05Speaker 4: they punch out the world.
- 46:10Speaker 1: Yeah. I agree.
- 46:11Speaker 3: If you're winning, it doesn't matter. Makes it for more
- 46:14Speaker 3: interesting baseball too.
- 46:17Speaker 2: Hm hm, Todd Father, you want to read this one.
- 46:20Speaker 1: Mets have scratched Freddy Peralta from his start tonight. Heard
- 46:24Speaker 1: John Hayman.
- 46:25Speaker 2: What happened?
- 46:27Speaker 1: I think he's hurt. No, just kidding. I think just
- 46:32Speaker 1: being cautious. This is baseball.
- 46:34Speaker 3: You think they've figured some stuff out and all of
- 46:36Speaker 3: a sudden something new comes on. Now, if you're going
- 46:38Speaker 3: to be traded, you're not doing anything right. We're gonna
- 46:40Speaker 3: put you in a box. Just stay inside. You want
- 46:43Speaker 3: to throw a little bit, throw, but we're gonna have
- 46:45Speaker 3: a trainer next to you so in case you trip.
- 46:47Speaker 1: You can cut out I'm kidding, but.
- 46:48Speaker 2: It does feel like they guys little trendy this year. Yeah,
- 46:52Speaker 2: it is right scratch yeah. I mean are they allowed
- 46:57Speaker 2: to leave the house? Are they allowed to eat whatever
- 46:59Speaker 2: they want? Like the stomach?
- 47:01Speaker 1: Ga? Yeah?
- 47:02Speaker 2: You ever seen the movie Bubble Boy? I think that's
- 47:07Speaker 2: like thirty years ago. But you couldn't go near him right,
- 47:10Speaker 2: Oh you could. He was literally in a bubble.
- 47:12Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 47:13Speaker 2: Yeah, kids, look it up. But that's I guess Freddy
- 47:16Speaker 2: PRAULTA Casey Mize and some more maybe this Weekendocrats.
- 47:20Speaker 4: They've done this for years. They've done this.
- 47:22Speaker 1: I know they've done it.
- 47:24Speaker 2: I don't think, but I've never heard everybody, no, bud,
- 47:28Speaker 2: they have.
- 47:28Speaker 4: There's been there's been plenty of times when dudes have
- 47:31Speaker 4: been traded and they're like, you can't even go into
- 47:33Speaker 4: the dugout, like if you get hit by a foul ball.
- 47:36Speaker 4: And then you go all the way back to when
- 47:38Speaker 4: yesterday was the anniversary of when Amir Garrett charged the
- 47:42Speaker 4: Pirates dugout. Remember that Yasiel Pligue had already been traded.
- 47:47Speaker 4: They were talking about it in the they were talking
- 47:49Speaker 4: about it in the telecast, and he was just he
- 47:52Speaker 4: was just out there playing and it ends up getting
- 47:55Speaker 4: in the fight, like he's already traded from the Reds.
- 47:58Speaker 4: So they've been pulling guys. They've been pulling guys at
- 48:01Speaker 4: different spots for years.
- 48:06Speaker 2: Yeah, but I just feel like the percentage seems a
- 48:07Speaker 2: little bit higher right now. Yes, guy a peer's boom
- 48:10Speaker 2: he scratched. It's like, I mean, I'm missing some of course,
- 48:14Speaker 2: but two pitched Scooble and Debt Merse or not that
- 48:18Speaker 2: Merse sorry, Schooble and Robbie Ray in the last few days,
- 48:22Speaker 2: and now we've got a miz and a Freddie p scratch.
- 48:25Speaker 2: Am I overthinking it? Maybe? Maybe krats? But that's what
- 48:29Speaker 2: I do here, That's part of my job.
- 48:31Speaker 4: But we also live we also live in the helicopter
- 48:33Speaker 4: parent generation. We live in a helicopter organization generation. Gee,
- 48:38Speaker 4: I don't know why Prelip's not gonna be able to
- 48:40Speaker 4: throw enough innings for us as we get to the playoffs. Oh,
- 48:43Speaker 4: because he's never been built up past ninety. I don't
- 48:47Speaker 4: know what's gonna happen with the White Sox guys in
- 48:49Speaker 4: their rotation because, oh, they've never thrown past five innings
- 48:53Speaker 4: in the minor leagues, like yeah, so I get it.
- 48:56Speaker 4: I get and it's on trend that they're gonna be like, oh,
- 48:59Speaker 4: super scared. We're not going to get our max value
- 49:02Speaker 4: out of Freddy P, who we thought was gonna be
- 49:04Speaker 4: our number one when we brought him over this year.
- 49:08Speaker 2: And if anything, I mean, sure, you want to get
- 49:10Speaker 2: as many starts as you can out of the guy
- 49:12Speaker 2: that you're picking up. But you would have thought, oh,
- 49:15Speaker 2: maybe they'll scratch Trek's Google and you get another start
- 49:18Speaker 2: out of him. I mean, you're gonna get another start
- 49:19Speaker 2: out of Casey Mice if and when he gets dealt,
- 49:22Speaker 2: because now he can start for you early next week
- 49:25Speaker 2: instead of middle to late next week. Same thing with
- 49:29Speaker 2: Freddy P getting scratched today. If he gets traded, I
- 49:32Speaker 2: mean he gets depending on how quickly he gets dealt,
- 49:34Speaker 2: he could start on Monday, Tuesday, something like that. So
- 49:37Speaker 2: here's the line for Freddy. Yeah, just got him there.
- 49:40Speaker 2: It's been a weird year. Four nine to nine is
- 49:43Speaker 2: not what you'd expect from Freddy, and the extension for
- 49:49Speaker 2: him is down. It's hurting. The heater, the breaking stuff
- 49:52Speaker 2: not looking the same, the shapes, you know, all the
- 49:54Speaker 2: stuff that the pitching coaches loved to gush about. He's
- 49:58Speaker 2: not looking as good lately, too, looking worse. I'm just
- 50:02Speaker 2: telling you it looks like a prime candidate where he's
- 50:04Speaker 2: going to join a different crew and he's gonna go
- 50:06Speaker 2: whoa right back up to close to where he was.
- 50:10Speaker 2: You have to look at it this way too. Is
- 50:11Speaker 2: Freddy praul To a playoff starter? The version of Freddy
- 50:15Speaker 2: peraul to that team think they can get him to
- 50:18Speaker 2: revert to pretty quickly? Is that a playoff starter for you?
- 50:21Speaker 2: And apparently the Mets are asking for a lot. We're
- 50:23Speaker 2: going to talk to Ken Rosenthal soon, but apparently they're
- 50:25Speaker 2: asking for a lot.
- 50:27Speaker 3: Yeah, I think he could be for sure. Yeah, sometimes
- 50:30Speaker 3: a change of scenery is not the best. And I
- 50:34Speaker 3: think this is just not working out for him in
- 50:36Speaker 3: New York. New York's tough man. Queens is tough. It's
- 50:39Speaker 3: a tough place to play in. They're on you no
- 50:42Speaker 3: matter what. You better do well or they're going to
- 50:45Speaker 3: be on you. And some people can handle it. Not
- 50:46Speaker 3: saying he's not, but you know, sometimes you don't like
- 50:50Speaker 3: the area you're playing at. You know there's place I
- 50:53Speaker 3: didn't like playing that, you.
- 50:54Speaker 4: Know, So tell us where Todd.
- 51:00Speaker 1: Literal league down the street?
- 51:02Speaker 2: Is it rhyme with.
- 51:05Speaker 1: Oh, I like pick I love playing at Pittsburgh.
- 51:07Speaker 2: Honestly playing in I love playing it? Yeah Pittsburgh, No, no,
- 51:12Speaker 2: playing in?
- 51:13Speaker 1: Oh no, I love playing for the Pirates?
- 51:16Speaker 2: Probably not. Wasn't your favorite at the time. They were
- 51:18Speaker 2: in a org was in a weird place.
- 51:22Speaker 1: The people above that were, yeah, it was.
- 51:26Speaker 2: It was interesting there. Hey, one last point on Freddy
- 51:29Speaker 2: and then we're gonna get to Ken in a couple
- 51:30Speaker 2: of minutes. This could make him a lot of money.
- 51:35Speaker 2: He's a free agent after this. This season is not
- 51:37Speaker 2: going in the direction. First of all, now you wipe
- 51:39Speaker 2: out the qualifying offer, he's not going to get that.
- 51:41Speaker 2: But also if he pitches well and pitches into the playoffs,
- 51:44Speaker 2: people are going to go, oh, the Mets thing, that
- 51:46Speaker 2: was a blip, that was a Mets thing. That's okay.
- 51:50Speaker 2: The Freddy that we've seen for years with Milwaukee, that's
- 51:52Speaker 2: the Freddy I'm buying. We're going to see a very
- 51:55Speaker 2: clear cut is this the Freddy or is this the Freddy?
- 51:58Speaker 2: He's gonna go somewhere else and you're gonna get say yep,
- 52:01Speaker 2: he's back or nope. I'm worried about him in free agency.
- 52:05Speaker 2: That's a thing. He also went from the team that's
- 52:09Speaker 2: one of the top pitching whisper programs out there, like
- 52:11Speaker 2: look at Kyle Harrison, Giants, Red Sox, Boom Stud Brewers.
- 52:16Speaker 2: I know he's been down a little bit injury wise too,
- 52:20Speaker 2: but the version we've seen of him this year, Kratz
- 52:24Speaker 2: is unlike anything we saw prior.
- 52:27Speaker 4: It's exactly what he looked like when he was hot,
- 52:29Speaker 4: when he first came to the Giants. And then they
- 52:31Speaker 4: were like, here, tinker, tinker, tinker. Eh, oh, we can
- 52:36Speaker 4: get rid of him. Cool. Red Sox were like, I mean,
- 52:38Speaker 4: this was Kyle Harrison's exact words.
- 52:41Speaker 2: Eh.
- 52:41Speaker 4: You know, they tried, We tried to do some things
- 52:44Speaker 4: that I didn't one hundred percent agree with, and it
- 52:46Speaker 4: just never really got any runway. Like that's the nicest
- 52:50Speaker 4: way of saying, these dudes really didn't put a lot
- 52:53Speaker 4: into me. I had no idea who I was as
- 52:55Speaker 4: a player, and now I'm dealing
- 53:00Speaker 2: George
