Latest / Sea Hawkers Podcast: for Seattle Seahawks fans / Seahawks Lock In Week 1 Victory, Overcome Adversity Early
Transcript
- 0:10This is the Sea Hawkers Podcast.
- 0:13I'm your host, Brandan Schulze, and I am joined by my good buddy Adam
- 0:17Emmert as we are live following our Seahawks' 13-10 victory over
- 0:25the New England Patriots, buddy.
- 0:27Oh, and it feels so good.
- 0:29This is, the 11th win in a row, I believe, and our second consecutive
- 0:33win in a row against the dirty Patriots, and it was a lot of fun.
- 0:37If you can't tell, we left it all out on the field with our voices, as did
- 0:40all the other 12s here in the home opener.
- 0:43What a cool experience, man, being there as they unveil the banner.
- 0:47They have the flyover with the F-15s.
- 0:50that made me giddy like a little kid.
- 0:52It was so much fun.
- 0:53they had the really touching tribute to, the, the
- 0:59the Paul Allen family- Yeah
- 1:01and Jody Allen.
- 1:02So I know, like, a lot of people are wondering, or interested in
- 1:05maybe Jody Allen raising the flag.
- 1:07that didn't happen, but they did this really cool tribute to, to both
- 1:13yeah, both, all, all the Allen family.
- 1:15Paul and Jody, yeah.
- 1:15Paul and Jody, and, and then Richard Sherman- Yep… raised the 12 flag.
- 1:19Yep, Sherman raised the 12 flag.
- 1:21It was electric, and I think from some of the takeaways from the game, Brandon
- 1:25I kinda wanna just start with, the 12s themselves because I really felt
- 1:29like they brought their A game tonight.
- 1:32I don't know what they said on the telecast or anything like that, but
- 1:36when it felt like that the team really needed the energy and really needed the
- 1:39pick-me-up, like, the crowd was there for them, and they were gangbusters.
- 1:44the…
- 1:44I, I would say that there was a lot of confusion early on, especially when
- 1:49we lost Sam Darnold after the very first drive, and then you see Drew Lock
- 1:55come out there for the second drive.
- 1:58And, and so if there's anything with the crowd, it was, a
- 2:01little bit of confusion early on.
- 2:03Yeah, the confusion was real, because the hit that Sam took didn't
- 2:07look like one of those where you'd be primarily worried about his health.
- 2:10And, you know, the hip injury happened, and it looked
- 2:14like it could be a scary one.
- 2:15It sounded like it could be a scary one, but some initial news from Mike
- 2:19Macdonald in his press conference saying that it was not fractured.
- 2:22they still have an MRI to come, it sounds like maybe tomorrow.
- 2:26But, good news initially, which was nice to see.
- 2:29But as Sam went down, Drew Lock stepped up.
- 2:33Yeah.
- 2:33And as Mike said, it, it was positive news, but, we still don't know
- 2:38how long it could potentially be.
- 2:39It's just if it were to be a fractured hip, then that
- 2:42would be, really bad news.
- 2:44So we've got Ryan911 coming in, our live executive producer with a 1999 super chat.
- 2:51So proud of Drew.
- 2:52He played fantastic tonight.
- 2:54Really happy the way Fleury worked him in, before he really seemed
- 2:58to unleash him in the fourth.
- 2:59Great team win.
- 3:00Go Hawks.
- 3:01Yeah, it…
- 3:02With regard to Drew, looking at a stat line too, he finishes
- 3:05the day 16 of 22, 187 yards.
- 3:08He has the one touchdown to JSN, and it, it's…
- 3:13For, for Drew, a- and to get the 13-10 win, gosh, the stat
- 3:19line could have been a lot better.
- 3:21but they end up set- settling for a couple field goals, which
- 3:25maybe wasn't all bad because now we get to realize that maybe we
- 3:29do have Even Year Myers after all.
- 3:32Yeah.
- 3:32And one of the interesting things as they were kind of doing the Paul Allen
- 3:36tribute and some of the other things that, Myers was out there practicing.
- 3:40And, I didn't pay attention to a lot of the tributes and all of that stuff.
- 3:43I was just eagle-eyed on Myers.
- 3:45And, he went three for three from about 50 yards, pregame, and I
- 3:49was like, "Okay, maybe it'll be good."
- 3:51And makes his two kicks and his extra point in, so that alleviates some worries.
- 3:56I, I do wanna go back to, Lock and Fleury for a little bit here for- Sure
- 4:00a quick second.
- 4:01So, you know- Brian Fleury is one of the biggest question marks about
- 4:05this team coming into this year just because he's new at doing the job.
- 4:08And it's amazing to see a guy go through the kind of adversity that he had to
- 4:13g- go through after the first drive when he loses his starting quarterback
- 4:17but seemed to stick to the game plan.
- 4:19Had a nice flow I felt like overall, a nice balance, as a whole.
- 4:23And, I think that's an impressive first outing for a first-time OC
- 4:27a first-time play caller when you lose your starting quarterback.
- 4:30Yeah, so are you thinking that when you say sticking to the game plan
- 4:33do you think the game plan was to go relatively light in terms of running
- 4:40the ball with Jadarian Price?
- 4:41'Cause he finishes the day 10 carries, 52 yards.
- 4:45He was the leading rusher for both teams even though Stevenson carried
- 4:49it I think 18 times for the Patriots.
- 4:52but Price finishes with 52, Holani has 29, and really it, it
- 4:57kind of felt, like a throwback to last year in the first half of the
- 5:00season with Jaxon Smith-Njigba, eight catches, 122 yards and a touchdown.
- 5:05Jaxon's ready to go.
- 5:06Yes.
- 5:07He very much was ready to go.
- 5:09But, you know, as you kinda look at the breakdown there, from the, from
- 5:12the backs, you had 20 total carries.
- 5:14and then you had 24 total pass attempts between Drew
- 5:18Lock and, Sam Darnold.
- 5:20So honestly, that's a fairly nice balanced recipe there
- 5:24where I thought that was great.
- 5:26And then to kinda go to Price- Man, Price was impressive right out of the gate.
- 5:32First run out of the gate, makes a great cut, just streaks up the middle, and you
- 5:37can see the things that you saw on tape at Notre Dame really start to pop off the
- 5:41screen here as he makes his pro debut.
- 5:43Yeah, Lisa in chat, @WhistleJackets saying, "Talk about how Price looks.
- 5:48He has a knack for getting a few more yards than he should be.
- 5:51That stuff adds up."
- 5:52And I, I re- That sure does.
- 5:54… I remember that, there was, there was one play where Price
- 5:59was running to the outside and Adam was like, "Oh, there's nothing there."
- 6:02And then he got, what, like five, six yards.
- 6:04Yeah.
- 6:05Yeah.
- 6:05And, yeah, Gary made fun of me.
- 6:07That was deserved.
- 6:08It was a good time.
- 6:08but I think that was one of the things that shocked me a little bit about
- 6:12watching Price in this game, is the second gear and able to capture the edge, even
- 6:18in situations where maybe you didn't think that there was a lot there for most backs.
- 6:23And, I see Drew in chat, being talked about there by Everett Weber.
- 6:28going back to him, I think the biggest part of the stat line
- 6:32that, you know, we mentioned the, the completions, you mentioned
- 6:36the yards, the one touchdown.
- 6:38But zero turnovers.
- 6:39The fact that he came in and you saw the guy who was on the other
- 6:43side of the field, who was the runner-up for MVP last year in Drake
- 6:48Maye, he throws three interceptions.
- 6:50Drew Lock, after playing a little bit in the preseason, not expecting
- 6:54to play in this game, comes in, clean game, zero interceptions.
- 6:58And gosh, he, he…
- 7:00Shoot, he almost r- ran it in for another touchdown-
- 7:03Yeah… down near the goal line.
- 7:04Showed off his wheels, yeah.
- 7:05Yeah, showed off his wheels a little bit.
- 7:07And yeah, if he would've been able to punch that in, that
- 7:09would've been, a lot less, puckery at the end of the game.
- 7:13Yeah.
- 7:13Yep.
- 7:13Yeah, for sure.
- 7:14he had a couple big boy throws throughout that game, too.
- 7:17The one to Kupp where he kinda like one handle, hands it and
- 7:20bobbles it and brings it in.
- 7:22That was a beautiful ball from Drew Lock.
- 7:24He had another one on, like, an out route, to the one sideline where he had
- 7:29pressure and he, he really didn't, get his feet around, but was able to kinda
- 7:33throw it off the back foot and just kinda do the flick and, get it out there.
- 7:36I thought that was pretty impressive.
- 7:38And Drew really steadied the ship.
- 7:40And I think if you're a backup quarterback- I think it would be
- 7:44unbelievably unexpected to, after one season in game one, you know
- 7:50first game of the season, in first drive, and then have to come in.
- 7:54Like, I'm not sure anybody would be completely mentally prepared for that.
- 7:58Like, you just wouldn't think that that would happen.
- 8:00No, it does feel like…
- 8:01Yeah.
- 8:01Gosh, at half ti- I don't know when the best time to come
- 8:04in is, but maybe halftime.
- 8:06Weatherfork in chat mentioning that Gonzo dropped a gif, gift.
- 8:09I, I don't know.
- 8:11It, it would've been a tough catch, for the corner, but it did
- 8:15feel like as a Patriots fan, you'd probably say, "Oh, well he should've
- 8:18come up with th- with that."
- 8:19Maybe not as bad as the Romeo Doubs drop, but he definitely
- 8:22should've come up with it.
- 8:23Yeah.
- 8:23Yeah.
- 8:24No, that one amused me to a, a great deal because, the
- 8:28fanfare around AJ Brown deserved.
- 8:30You know, he's a top flight receiver, and then they bring in- There's a
- 8:32lot of hype around Doubs… and they bring in Doubs, and
- 8:35like, the- everyone's like, "Oh my gosh, they got a legit number two."
- 8:38I was like, "Well, that's cute.
- 8:38That's a delightfully average receiver," and he showed it on that play.
- 8:42Yeah.
- 8:42you think the Packers are giving up…
- 8:44Like, they have delightfully average rec- receiving core, too.
- 8:47Right.
- 8:47And, so yeah, to, to be hyping up Doubs seemed weird to me.
- 8:51Yeah, for sure.
- 8:53But, you know, offense, you know, answered a few questions, in
- 8:56today's game, and we got to see some of that, Fleury philosophy out there.
- 9:00A lot more fullback maybe than I thought with Brady Russell being the
- 9:03featured fullback, and actually I thought he acquitted himself quite well.
- 9:07Yeah.
- 9:08Got to see some nice plays from Brady Russell.
- 9:11y- yeah, I, I'm kind of with, the chat there, really.
- 9:14It does feel like Drew Lock.
- 9:16But, also, I mean, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, man, that, that dude is- There's a
- 9:20reason he's the offensive player of the year… he might, if, if he is able to
- 9:25do what he did again, he might be MVP this year, if he's able to put together that
- 9:29kind of, you know, back-to-back seasons.
- 9:32But, I don't know if I want to see that.
- 9:34I want to see more Jadarian Price.
- 9:35Why…
- 9:36I, I felt like Price left, like- When, when the play, w- you talk about Fleury.
- 9:43Yeah.
- 9:44And for, Sam to go out, I thought we would see a lot more in the run game.
- 9:51And so, yeah, that, that part surprised me about Fleury, that you got Price
- 9:56there, he ha- we hadn't seen him much in the preseason, and even Holani
- 10:00the, the two backs together tallied 18 carries, and when you're going
- 10:05to your backup quarterback, that, that part surprised me a little bit.
- 10:09Yeah, and I think it just showed, like, Brian Fleury keeping his cool
- 10:13when he's faced early adversity.
- 10:16Mm-hmm.
- 10:16Like, again, on his first series ever as a play caller
- 10:19and I think that is impressive.
- 10:20One of the things about the offense- Talk about ke- him keeping his
- 10:23cool- Yeah… fourth and one.
- 10:26Yeah.
- 10:27Yeah, just the, just barnyard it.
- 10:29And, and we're not, we're, we're not barnyarding it, no.
- 10:32We're throwing a touchdown, throwing it to JSN and he's
- 10:34running it in for a touchdown.
- 10:35Yeah, yeah, that was the other one that got me-… throughout the game.
- 10:37I was like, "Oh, good, we're throwing it," as, we, he drops back to
- 10:40pass, but, beautifully designed play and, and Drew really did
- 10:45you know, find JSN in a nice spot.
- 10:47And then the thing is, is that for most receivers in the
- 10:50league, that's not a touchdown.
- 10:53JSN had an incredible run after the catch and really made a couple
- 10:57dudes miss and, you know, showed his kind of quintessential, like
- 11:01smooth wiggle that nobody can seem to figure out, gets in for the
- 11:05touchdown, and that was pretty sweet.
- 11:07We've got the survey up on screen, asking folks- Ooh, this is
- 11:10fancy… who the man of the match is.
- 11:12Yeah.
- 11:12And really, I, I would have a hard time picking from…
- 11:17A- again, this is similar to the Super Bowl, where we've spent a lot
- 11:21of time talking about the offense, but the defense won this game.
- 11:25Right.
- 11:25So there'd be two people that I would nominate for that, and that would
- 11:29either be Uchenna Nwosu or Julian Love.
- 11:31Like- Oh… I felt like both those dudes played a whale of a game.
- 11:35I mean, Nwosu was just- destroying the Patriots single-handedly
- 11:41on a couple plays there.
- 11:43And I thought he had a super strong game.
- 11:45I thought Julian Love had a nice game, too.
- 11:47He had a lot of nice tackles around the line of scrimmage.
- 11:49He had one of the interceptions where he baited the [bleep] out of Drake Maye-
- 11:53which was really fun to watch.
- 11:55And, those two guys were amazing.
- 11:57But to touch on one last thing about the offense, I think one of the things
- 12:00that was obvious is that with the starters not having a lot of time in
- 12:03the pre-season, there was some rust.
- 12:06It wasn't exactly great.
- 12:07The, the penalties were, a little much.
- 12:11Penalties were a little much.
- 12:12I, I- I- if they were all legit, and I'm still not convinced… the thing that I
- 12:18wanted to see the pre- the, the starters in pre-season, and I feel like there's
- 12:22gonna be a lot of takes out there now of, okay, if starters would've played in
- 12:27the pre-season, would an injury like that have happened to Sam Darnold so soon?
- 12:32And I feel like i- it's, it's probably however you feel about starters
- 12:37playing in the pre-season is, is going to influence your take on that.
- 12:41Yeah.
- 12:41Because you're gonna say, "Well, an injury like that could've happened
- 12:44to Sam in the pre-season," and then we would be as fans saying, "Why
- 12:48did you play him in the pre-season?"
- 12:49Exactly.
- 12:50It's damned if you do, damned if you don't.
- 12:51And, yeah, he could've just as easily been tackled like that in
- 12:55the, his first series in the second pre-season game, and then we're all
- 13:00wondering, was that the right decision?
- 13:02But at the end of the day, it sounds like, we may have positive news
- 13:06on that, and that's pretty sweet.
- 13:08But yeah, turning to the defense, because the defense is really what won the day
- 13:14and, kind of a repeat of the Super Bowl in some ways, with their, you
- 13:18know, really dominant performance as the Patriots scored all of their points
- 13:23more or less off of penalties, right?
- 13:24Because you have the roughing of the kicker penalty that
- 13:27gets them into field goal range.
- 13:29Yeah.
- 13:29And they score the touchdown on the PI on Josh Jobe after the trickery flea flicker.
- 13:34That's what Josh McDaniels had to do.
- 13:36He had to reach in for a flea flicker to finally get anything against
- 13:40Mike, Mike Macdonald's defense.
- 13:41Yeah, and that ended up taking advantage of the secondary that I know, like
- 13:46a lot of us fans were worried about.
- 13:48But gosh, we saw some nice plays from Rodney Thomas.
- 13:52We saw Nehemiah Pritchett with the interception.
- 13:55and then kind of the cool full circle moment of the game, Josh Jobe has the, the
- 14:03the penalty that- Yeah… then leads to the touchdown, and then, oh, he catches
- 14:08the, the- The game sealing interception.
- 14:10Yeah.
- 14:11Yeah.
- 14:11Yeah, and, what a beautiful catch, too.
- 14:13And, I think Clinton had pointed out to us, on the drive back that
- 14:19even JSN had some praise for-… Josh Jobe in his way, that he was able to go up
- 14:25like a receiver and then do a little tap, tap, taparoo to, to get the touchdown.
- 14:29I was trying to celebrate with everybody around me, and everybody was
- 14:33wanting to wait for the, the replay.
- 14:35And I, I mean, I could see it from where we were that he
- 14:38clearly got his feet in bounds.
- 14:39Yeah, yeah.
- 14:40Well, th- This is the hardest part about this show tonight, boys and
- 14:42girls, is that we, we were sitting down in the, south end zone.
- 14:45The majority of the game-… was played in the north side of the
- 14:48field, so it was all very far away.
- 14:50so, for me, it was difficult to tell, and maybe the rest of us wanted
- 14:54to take a Cooper Kupp mentality like in the Super Bowl where he's like
- 14:57"I ain't celebrating [bleep] till we get to-"… all the triple zeros," you know?
- 15:00Yeah.
- 15:01Well, I was, I was ready to celebrate because I wanted it
- 15:03to be over because that fourth quarter, was one of the toughest
- 15:07stretches as a fan, like, of- Whew
- 15:09bringing it at a game.
- 15:11And so again, when you are giving credit to all of the fans who were there, it
- 15:16it is well deserved because- Yeah… if they're anything like the people in
- 15:19our section, it was, it was a lot.
- 15:22It was a lot.
- 15:23And, it did feel very loud.
- 15:25you could see the defense really feed off of that.
- 15:28And this is very much a Mike Macdonald type of game, right?
- 15:31Like, "We are gonna choke you out defensively, make enough plays
- 15:35offensively, and come away with yet another win" that people will
- 15:39say is either boring or fluky or this, that or the other thing.
- 15:42I, I do have a feeling that the narrative after this game is
- 15:45that w- it's boring and sloppy.
- 15:48It's not gonna be, oh, you know, how the Seahawks stepped up and, and
- 15:53overcame adversity in a situation where they lost their quarterback.
- 15:57No, it's…
- 15:57They're gonna say it's, it was sloppy and boring.
- 15:59Yeah.
- 16:00what's wrong with Drake Maye?
- 16:01Is he a bust now?
- 16:02Like, da, da, da, da, da.
- 16:03And it's all gonna be about the Patriots, no doubt about it, and A.J.
- 16:06Brown's injury.
- 16:06Although this really was the type of game for…
- 16:10I, I think Drake Maye- the criticism around him is going to be deserved because this
- 16:16was a game he should've been able to- Yeah… to pull out because he had the, he had
- 16:21the ball with, in the final drive.
- 16:24He conver- converted multiple fourth downs.
- 16:27And then, I thought they were setting up to go for a field goal because they
- 16:32were really draining a lot of clock.
- 16:34Yeah.
- 16:35Using timeouts.
- 16:36Yeah.
- 16:36And it seemed like they were setting it up To just let it play
- 16:41out, kick the field goal, go into overtime, but then they tested Jobe.
- 16:45Yeah.
- 16:45And, they paid the price, no doubt about it.
- 16:48Yeah, it'll be interesting to see kind of what people have to say about Drake
- 16:51after this game, 'cause this was really winnable for a guy who was in the MVP
- 16:56conversation after being, like, the most memorable, schedule merchant in
- 17:00the history of the league, playing the weakest schedule in what, like, I don't
- 17:03know, since the Kennedy administration?
- 17:05Like, absolutely, crazy.
- 17:08And so yeah, when he actually goes up against a generational defense
- 17:11like this, he looks very mortal.
- 17:13Yeah.
- 17:13Well, and so any- while there should be some criticism because he had the
- 17:18opportunity, yeah, he, he was going up against, again, the Seahawks defense.
- 17:22And, for them to play as well as they did with the questions around
- 17:27the secondary, Nick Emmanwori not out there, it, I, I'm very happy
- 17:33the way things turned out with the defense because yes, I was worried.
- 17:36And I think one of the things that's really encouraging that we see this
- 17:39out of this game is without Emmanwori playing and with Ty Okada injured, you
- 17:45see Rodney Thomas come in and do his job and be a part of the interception that
- 17:49Nehemiah Pritchett gets, who he played outside the, as the starter as they moved
- 17:54Spoon inside for the majority of the game.
- 17:56So you had Jobe and, and Pritchett outside, and, Pritchett had a great game, and
- 18:01that interception was really impressive.
- 18:04Thomas kind of tips it up a little bit, Pritchett tips it up to
- 18:07himself-… catches the ball, and, has a nice return with it as well.
- 18:12And I thought Nehemiah had a great game, and I think that's something
- 18:15that will help put to, to bed some of the worries a lot of
- 18:20people had about the third corner or the opposite outside corner.
- 18:25Couple folks I wanted to make sure and thank.
- 18:27We got a super chat right at the end of the last show.
- 18:30Oh, it was awesome.
- 18:31And it was, we'd already hit the we're done button, so yeah.
- 18:34So Tim Schmidt came in with $50, and, really wanna thank Tim for that.
- 18:39Also, we got 1212.12
- 18:43from James.
- 18:44That's- That's a lot of numbers in a row.
- 18:45That feels like it's more than being 100 there, Scott.
- 18:48That, that, that's $1,212 and 12 cents from James.
- 18:51Holy crap, dude.
- 18:53Like,… yeah, that's amazing.
- 18:56I, I guess I'll have to give him a ride home.
- 18:58… that, that's pretty impressive.
- 18:59So big shout-out to our buddy James, man, and, you know, huge supporter of
- 19:04of the show and a really good friend.
- 19:06And, just wanna thank all of you guys that came out and
- 19:09hung out with us, whether it was the night before or at the game.
- 19:12It was a lot of fun.
- 19:14Yeah, we had a really cool group that joined us up there in section
- 19:17325, and yes, we were all cheering our brains out throughout the game.
- 19:22Mike W.
- 19:22coming in saying, "I just tuned in about five minutes ago.
- 19:25Not sure if you guys updated on the Sam situation.
- 19:29I just read that he's negative on a fracture, yes, but other results
- 19:33are inconclusive, so MRI tomorrow."
- 19:35I think i- what, even what the, with what the MRI says I s- I think we're going to
- 19:42be rolling with Drew Lock for at least the next couple weeks Couple weeks.
- 19:45Yeah.
- 19:46Next couple weeks.
- 19:47if we can kind of keep it in that lane.
- 19:49And that's not, that's me not knowing anything about doctoring.
- 19:52Yeah.
- 19:52I'm just guessing, but- I don't know.
- 19:53We're not even at a Holiday Inn.
- 19:54We're at an Airbnb… like, if it, if it was that serious that they were-
- 19:57Yeah… worried that it might be broken, it does seem like a multiple week thing.
- 20:00Right.
- 20:01So it doesn't sound like it was dislocated.
- 20:03The big concern would be that then it would be a break when we
- 20:07saw kind of the tweet from Dr.
- 20:08Chao, who does a lot of the kind of injury reporting on Twitter.
- 20:13And to dodge that at least is a huge deal.
- 20:16Now we'll get the results from the MRI.
- 20:18I'm sure you're gonna see some things in there, but hopefully, hopefully
- 20:22it's gonna be something that, isn't gonna be too prolonged.
- 20:26No.
- 20:27And, maybe, maybe the schedule works out favorably for us, right?
- 20:31These next couple of weeks.
- 20:32Yeah.
- 20:33'Cause, we do have the, Cardinals- Who?
- 20:36… coming up next.
- 20:37Uh-huh.
- 20:37And then on the ro- but both two road games, so on the
- 20:40road against the Cardinals.
- 20:41Then on the road- Yeah, we're off and on the road… against the Commanders.
- 20:44I know them.
- 20:46Barely, though.
- 20:47They're, they're not quite a who because of Jayden Daniels.
- 20:49And then back home against the Chargers to kick off October.
- 20:52And that's gonna be a game.
- 20:52Yeah.
- 20:53Yeah.
- 20:53Yeah, for sure.
- 20:54But, I can't wait to go back and watch the TV copy because once again, everything
- 20:58that we saw was, like, tiny people at a l- a large distance Far away at one end.
- 21:02Yeah.
- 21:03And, but as a whole, a super exciting win for the Seahawks as
- 21:07they begin to run it forward and we start our season undefeated.
- 21:12I'm pretty fired up for that.
- 21:14Fired up for that.
- 21:15If you wanna become a member of the Flock, getintheflock.com
- 21:19and, you can join in there.
- 21:21Also, it looks like we got one more super chat, before we get on out of here.
- 21:26Ooh.
- 21:26Yeah, Patrick coming in.
- 21:28"Paul Lock will lead us.
- 21:31Significantly, he mentioned just relying on our defense and
- 21:33protecting the ball headed forward."
- 21:36Yeah.
- 21:36And for somebody like Drew Lock, who when he came into the league-
- 21:40Oh, it, it's, yeah, a ti- It-… autocorrect got him.
- 21:45Yeah, either autocorrect got him or, you know, a funny
- 21:47joke that I don't quite get-
- 21:48because I'm stupid.
- 21:49But, at the end of the day, I think Drew got a front row seat to what
- 21:55it means to run a team like this when you're surrounded by this sort of talent
- 22:01with this kind of coach, and understanding that you just gotta not screw it up.
- 22:05And watching Sam Darnold kind of run that throughout the year, I think that
- 22:09was good for somebody like Drew, who had the mentality, especially when
- 22:12he was back with the Broncos, of that kind of gunslinger type because he has
- 22:16such a big arm and he has such a quick release and he really spins it well.
- 22:21I like to see that that's something that's rubbed off on him.
- 22:24All right.
- 22:25We got, Zippy Pinhead fan.
- 22:29"I live in Arizona and I'm planning to be at the game."
- 22:32Hell yeah.
- 22:32First live game since 2014 NFC championship.
- 22:35Have a great time at the game.
- 22:37We're gonna be previewing that match up coming up this week.
- 22:40And, before we get…
- 22:41I mean, we got some recaps to do this week, too.
- 22:43Yeah.

- 22:56Absolutely.
- 22:56We'll be back to our regular schedule of five shows in between games.
- 23:00And, next up will be, three and three out with, with
- 23:04Clinton, and, we're looking forward to getting after that.
- 23:07this is our live recap here.
- 23:09We'll do our flagship as well.
- 23:11We've got What If with Phil, and then we'll do news and notes again as we
- 23:15get closer to playing that…
- 23:17Which team was it again?
- 23:18I, I don't even remember.
- 23:19I forgot about- Yeah, some other one.
- 23:20I don't know.
- 23:21Deserty one.
- 23:21The bo- the most important thing, we're starting off the season one and O.
- 23:26We go back to back against the stupid Patriots to get the 13 and
- 23:290 victory, and we are moving on to week number two, whoever we play.
- 23:34That's right.
- 23:35And I'm Gas, so with that- There's only one thing left to say… go Hawks.
- 23:39Go Hawks.
