- 0:09Bible study here, our weekly webinar where we study the word
- 0:13of God and we look at it to it for direction and guidance and
- 0:18we let it transform our lives. And for the next hour, we're
- 0:22going to talk in Hebrews about what the author had there to the
- 0:27believers. And so if you guys want us, you
- 0:32got a question or want to comment, you can do that via the
- 0:35chat on whatever platform you're watching.
- 0:38And we'll get that up here for us.
- 0:43Of course, like always, we are streaming at Facebook and
- 0:45YouTube. Our recordings are available at
- 0:49Sibley Christ Ministries. You can Google that and get the
- 0:51links to all the platforms and the podcast that we put out
- 0:56every week as well. So tonight we are going to go
- 1:01through Hebrews after 10 verse, starting in verse 4.
- 1:08So we're going to start in Hebrews 10/4 and work our way
- 1:12through that. We did got 3 verses done last
- 1:14week, so maybe we could get 5 or 6 done this week.
- 1:17We'll see. That all goes.
- 1:20So I don't know who's going to pray for us this evening to get
- 1:24started. Melvin, I think you have it in a
- 1:26while. Yeah.
- 1:28Let's pray. Father, we come to you tonight
- 1:31and we just bless you and we are you and we thank you for your
- 1:34goodness and we thank you that you have given us your son Jesus
- 1:39to redeem us on the cross and that we can have this one
- 1:43sacrifice done once that we can put our faith in.
- 1:48And Father, I just pray tonight that as we get into your word
- 1:52that that your spirit would use our use us and then we could be
- 1:58open to your spirit and that only the truth would come out
- 2:03and not what we want to say or our flesh.
- 2:06And Father, I pray that this Bible study would reach someone
- 2:11tonight that is searching and wants to know the truth.
- 2:15And Father, we just bless you and we love you and we just
- 2:20glorify your name in Jesus name, Amen.
- 2:23Amen. That's.
- 2:25Right, OK, yes, good evening Cameron.
- 2:30Good to have you with us again tonight.
- 2:33Appreciate that. And John was on there too, I
- 2:36saw. Appreciate you guys being on
- 2:38here. Alrighty.
- 2:40Hebrews chapter 10 verse 4 says for it is not possible that the
- 2:46blood of bulls and goats should take away sins.
- 2:50And just to get a running context, I'm going to read the
- 2:54first 3 verses of this chapter. And because we remember that I
- 2:59was thinking about this on Sunday, yesterday, we divide
- 3:03this thing up. But it would be good for us to
- 3:05remember that when we read this, these scriptures that we should
- 3:08read them like we would a book by paragraph and sentence,
- 3:12because these references are just Simply put there.
- 3:15So we know what each other is talking about when we talk about
- 3:18a certain area of the scriptures.
- 3:20So it's easy to find. So it's just kind of a key.
- 3:22It is not where God divided it to be discussed in certain
- 3:26segments. So just to what you think about
- 3:29it, think about the scripture written like a book or a story
- 3:33or whatever. So starting in verse one, just
- 3:37because that's a good place to start, says for the shadow, for
- 3:39the law having a shadow of good things to come and not the very
- 3:43image of things can never with those sacrifices which they
- 3:46offered year by year continually make the comers there unto
- 3:49perfect. For then would they not have
- 3:52ceased to be offered because that the worshippers,
- 3:55worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of
- 3:59sins. And we talked about that a lot
- 4:01last week. But in those sacrifices there is
- 4:05a remembrance again made of sins.
- 4:08And for it is not possible that the blood of bulls and goats
- 4:12should take away this this take away sins.
- 4:15And the reason I wanted to read that is the key to verse 4 is
- 4:18actually a three the full argument there.
- 4:22He's saying that the reason that remembrance was made is because
- 4:28the blood of bulls and goats cannot or should not, it says
- 4:32here, take away sins. And so that makes for an
- 4:37interesting argument which we have been hearing through the
- 4:41previous chapters of Hebrews. He is making the point here that
- 4:46blood of bulls and goat is not able and that Jesus is superior
- 4:51in this because his blood is able.
- 4:54So he makes a really good argument here and he's going to
- 4:58continue on this for several more verses before he lets this
- 5:02this idea go. So anyway that I just want to
- 5:06get a running start there and I will let you add any comments
- 5:10Andrew and the rest of you on why that the blood of bulls and
- 5:16goats should not take away Sid. There's probably many reasons
- 5:22why not, but he tells us, he just tells us they can't, like
- 5:26it's not possible. And what I see here is he's laid
- 5:32up a foundation of how Christ is so much better than any Angel or
- 5:37prophet or anything that has happened in the past.
- 5:41And he had, he uses Old Testament references to this
- 5:46time that's going to happen when he says when he says a lot of
- 5:52these things here. And he's trying to be sliding
- 5:55into this transition time from the administration of the law to
- 5:59the administration of the Spirit.
- 6:01And the way he's doing it is to prove to them that the blood of
- 6:07fools and goats can't take away sins.
- 6:09Because if they did, you wouldn't have any more
- 6:11conscience of sins and you'd be made perfect.
- 6:14Then you wouldn't. Then you would keep doing it.
- 6:17If you were made perfect, then you would keep doing these
- 6:20sacrifices. But everybody knows that that
- 6:23didn't make you perfect. And the reason why is because
- 6:25the blood of fools and goats can't make you perfect.
- 6:28Why? Because they can't take away,
- 6:31you're saying? So the key is that we need our
- 6:34sins actually taken away of not just covered, not just not just
- 6:39a temporary atonement. We need them to disappear
- 6:42completely. And that's what the blood of the
- 6:45bulls and goats was impossible to do.
- 6:47So he is bringing in the New Testament, he's bringing in the
- 6:51new covenant, and he's trying to get them proof to them that they
- 6:56have to let go of the old. So they can bring in the second
- 6:59or the first they can bring in the second.
- 7:02Yeah, that's right, Aaron. Yeah, I was just thinking that
- 7:07when he says it is not possible that the blood of bulls, goats,
- 7:11take away sand, it's it's I mean, I know this is probably
- 7:14something everybody else is going to say.
- 7:16You're thinking at least is it's just not equal, right?
- 7:20I mean, it's just not an equal thing.
- 7:22A animal is not made in the image of God like a man is,
- 7:27right? I mean, he, he makes all these
- 7:28things and the first six days of creation and he's, and then he
- 7:32kind of basically gets done with everything else and says, let us
- 7:36make man in our own image and in our own likeness.
- 7:39So it's not as valuable. I mean, I, I feel like that's
- 7:43the simple short answer is just not as valuable as it's not
- 7:47valuable enough to take away sins.
- 7:49It took a man to take away men's sins, right?
- 7:53I mean, that's that's the thing that really stands out to me in
- 7:56that verse. In fact, he's going to go on to
- 7:58say that in the next couple is I God, I did not get any pleasure
- 8:04out of those sacrifices. I've prepared a body, like a
- 8:09human body, for myself. So that's.
- 8:13That's what I think about the words.
- 8:14Good point, Dad. Oh, oh, he's not.
- 8:20Can't hear you, Dad. Yeah, there we go.
- 8:24I was going to say something very similar to what Aaron just
- 8:27said it that it's the quality of the sacrifice.
- 8:30The the worthiness of the sacrifice was not there with
- 8:33blood of bulls and of goats. The lifestyle of the Lord Jesus
- 8:38earned him the right to become the perfect man, the perfect
- 8:43sacrifice, the captain of our salvation.
- 8:45Then he laid down his life, because it was finally blood
- 8:49that was sufficient to stand before God.
- 8:51No flesh and blood had ever been able to stand before God.
- 8:54Here was one man that was able. And then he gave up that perfect
- 8:58righteous blood and laid it down his own body, which blood of
- 9:02bulls and goats was just a mere very pitiful glimpse or shadow
- 9:08of the real. Yeah, I, I don't like to put
- 9:14some emphasis on take away. You know, in the Old Testament,
- 9:21which is what he's arguing about here, you know, the old verses,
- 9:25the new, bringing in the new. It he says that they had to have
- 9:30a sin offering. It was called an offering, like
- 9:34it didn't take away their sins. And so it's only Jesus Christ
- 9:41that can take away our sins. And there's, I think all of us
- 9:45probably have a desire deep down to have our sins taken away,
- 9:51right? I mean, that's, that's the what
- 9:54God has put in US actually, the desire to be free and to be have
- 10:00our sins taken away. And we try and take them away
- 10:04with so many other things and whatever it may be.
- 10:09There's a whole bunch of things that people try and do to take
- 10:14away their sins, but it's only Jesus Christ that can take away
- 10:20our sins, and it's not the blood of bulls and goats.
- 10:25And if sorry, can I say something?
- 10:28So we just also went through where he talked about what
- 10:33qualified Jesus Christ to be a perfect great high priest.
- 10:37It was after the order of Melchizedek.
- 10:39I don't know if a goat that was after the order of Melchizedek
- 10:43that suffered, but that was tempted, that was tried and that
- 10:48overcame. And I don't know of a bull that
- 10:53was on a cross or tortured like. And I don't know of a bull that
- 10:57can sucker those that are tempted, you know, big.
- 11:00Point. That's good.
- 11:01That's. Good stuff.
- 11:03One more thing I wouldn't mind pointing out too is that under
- 11:06the old covenant, God did not want the people to forget that
- 11:10they had sin. That's right.
- 11:12By implication saying, hey, I want you to remember this.
- 11:15Remember you are guilty, you are sinful, you are not worthy.
- 11:19Keep remembering that. And now one of the new covenant,
- 11:22he says, done. That's right, no more
- 11:24remembrance. Amen.
- 11:26No more of sin, he said in verse 2 there.
- 11:29Yeah, that's good right there. Come on.
- 11:35Yeah, yeah, I guess I never even thought about it.
- 11:37But that was actually the schoolmaster, wasn't it?
- 11:39Our, our earnest of being coming up short every single time.
- 11:42On and on and on. On and on and on.
- 11:44Yeah, Yeah, very good, very good.
- 11:47All right, Five and six. Wherefore when he cometh into
- 11:52the world, he's saith sacrifice and offering.
- 11:55Thou wouldest not but a body has thou prepared me in burnt
- 12:00offerings and sacrifices for sin.
- 12:03Thou hast had no pleasure. I find that kind of incredible
- 12:08actually, that he would say that after having instituting
- 12:15actually that many, many years ago.
- 12:18So anyway, go ahead and. Yeah, I read this these verses
- 12:25and I always scratch my head. He set up this whole temporary
- 12:33but foreshadowing because remember in verse one it says
- 12:37for the law having a shadow of good things to come, but not and
- 12:41not the very nature of the things can never with those
- 12:44sacrifices which they offer year by year continual to make the
- 12:47comers there and too perfect. I think that was probably the
- 12:50reason he didn't like it because it didn't do the job.
- 12:55He had no pleasure in it. It was just a remembrance of sin
- 12:58made every year. It was just a constant bloodshed
- 13:01of innocent animals. I don't know if that's Paul so
- 13:04part he didn't like all these animals dying for someone else's
- 13:08sins and he said he says he had no pleasure in it.
- 13:14Burnt offering and sacrificed his sin had no pleasure in that.
- 13:18But the word that sticks out to me a little bit and burnt
- 13:22offerings and sacrifice sin thou hast had no pleasure.
- 13:26So who is he talking to? I'm assuming it's Jesus talking
- 13:29to God. Yeah, I think he's quoting a.
- 13:34He's quoting a scripture too, isn't he?
- 13:36Yeah, yeah. He's quoting Psalms.
- 13:39Verse 40 is what he's quoting. Yeah, right.
- 13:45So it's not what I see when I read that.
- 13:51Is that the whole foreshadowing thing that he commanded everyone
- 13:55to do and that they had to do in order to not either that or die
- 13:59and sometimes even in the log, depending on what you did, you
- 14:02did die. I mean you the penalty was
- 14:04death. But when there was an atonement
- 14:07to be made, they used means to weed lay old goat or bull and he
- 14:12could never do the job and God just had no pleasure in it.
- 14:15What he had pleasure in it, what he was well pleased with was his
- 14:18son and his son died and that is what particularly since.
- 14:25Yeah, Aaron. Yeah, I don't think he's, I
- 14:29don't think he's exactly saying that he asked him to do
- 14:33something that that later made him mad other than maybe when
- 14:37they were doing it, you know, like when when he was abhorred
- 14:42by their sacrifice and you know, like they were still sacrificing
- 14:45and in greater iniquity. I think that might have made him
- 14:48mad. But I think it's similar to like
- 14:51it would be the opposite of what he says in Isaiah 53 and verse
- 14:5510. It says, yet it pleased the Lord
- 14:58to bruise him yet yet he hath put him to grieve when he when
- 15:04he made his soul an offering for our sins.
- 15:06And then it says that verse 11 says he shall see the travail of
- 15:14his soul and shall be satisfied. I think that's kind of what he's
- 15:19saying. He's he's saying I got no
- 15:23satisfaction out of it in the sense of it didn't cover your
- 15:27all's iniquities, your transgressions towards me.
- 15:30Whereas when Christ suffers, he is satisfied now.
- 15:34So I don't think he asked him to do something and then decided he
- 15:37was aggravated that he that they're doing it.
- 15:41Yeah. That's what I was trying to.
- 15:42Say, Oh yeah, yeah. And then, but let me, I'll say
- 15:46that about those verses. Let me back up and say this.
- 15:48Leviticus 17 verse 11 says for the life of the flesh is in the
- 15:53blood, and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an
- 15:58atonement for your souls. For it is the blood that maketh
- 16:02an atonement for the soul. So it's when he says in in verse
- 16:074, it's not possible that the blood of bulls and goats should
- 16:10take away sin. He's not saying that blood is
- 16:12not what he's looking for. It just wasn't the right kind of
- 16:16blood. Right in.
- 16:17Other words, it does take blood. It was just that animal blood is
- 16:21not equal to human iniquity, I guess you'd say, or whatever,
- 16:26you know, like it's not, it doesn't qualify, but.
- 16:29Right. Yep.
- 16:33Yeah, I think. Sometimes when people hear the
- 16:35doctrine of substitutionary atonement described, they get
- 16:40the impression that God is this vindictive God that just loves
- 16:44the smell of barbecue. And he's like, give me more,
- 16:46give me more. I need blood, I need sacrifice.
- 16:50You know, like he can't ever be filled up when this is not the
- 16:53case at all. He was just looking for, oh, how
- 16:57would you say full atonement? He wanted the right thing to
- 17:02take the place of. He wanted justice to be fully
- 17:05served for there to be a a real substitute made he he wanted man
- 17:11to be made right and according to his justice, according to his
- 17:14law, according to his own standard of his own character,
- 17:18he could not allow men to go. And so he created this, like
- 17:22Andrew said before, this temporary image, this great
- 17:26object lesson that would serve the purpose of just that alone.
- 17:31It's not like he's up there like, yeah, I want more.
- 17:33I want more meat. I want more blood.
- 17:35Or rather, he was trying to paint a picture for them to see.
- 17:38Like Aaron said, this does not satisfy.
- 17:41This does not satisfy. There, now I'm satisfied.
- 17:44And I think that's that's where the beauty is in it.
- 17:47Sometimes Christians who reject substitutionary atonement, they,
- 17:51they call it mockingly cosmic child abuse or cosmic child
- 17:57sacrifice. And it just, they, they're
- 17:59disgusted by it because they think it's this vindictive,
- 18:01ugly, evil natured God that just wants, he's out for blood,
- 18:06right? But it's not he's, he's making
- 18:08it equal. He's correcting everything that
- 18:11went wrong and it's it becomes a very beautiful doctrine.
- 18:16Melvin. Yeah, it's just interesting to
- 18:19me that he says there buddy body has thou prepared me.
- 18:23And and someone had said it earlier that God needed a
- 18:28person, a person that had flesh just like we did to take away
- 18:34our sins, not bulls or or goats. But if you look up that word
- 18:41pleasure where he says in burnt offering and sacrifice for sin,
- 18:45thou has no pleasure. It says to the prove or to think
- 18:51good or to be pleased. So in other words, he had he it
- 18:56was not approved like you were saying, Dan, that did he didn't
- 19:01approve of that. It's so it's not it's not just
- 19:06the blood like it had to be the right blood, right?
- 19:10It's like you describe it. He just he didn't approve of the
- 19:13bulls and goats. Yeah.
- 19:16It is in a sense like not having pleasure in verse 6 there.
- 19:21I mean, it's almost in a way like maybe, maybe not, this
- 19:25doesn't directly apply, but in a way like with my own, with my
- 19:29own kids, like discipline is there's no pleasure in it for
- 19:32me, you know, but but it's a necessary part of having
- 19:38fulfillment. It's a necessary part of, you
- 19:41know, of the the work. Just like this schoolmaster,
- 19:45this law that he talks about called it a schoolmaster.
- 19:48There wasn't any pleasure necessarily in that schoolmaster
- 19:51or that method, but it was a necessary part of attaining the
- 19:54the finished, completed work in Christ because otherwise,
- 19:58otherwise we wouldn't know our sin had it not been up to us to
- 20:02work for that for a while. And and the other on the other
- 20:05hand too, like how great is it to God the Father that he can
- 20:10take someone like Charlie Kirk? In his arms, fully redeemed and
- 20:15just call him a call him a son and be able to say well done,
- 20:19you know, by good and faithful Sir or whatever, you know,
- 20:21whatever that whatever that reunion was there in that
- 20:24instant is because of the difference of this blood that
- 20:28we're talking about. This this this blood that Jesus
- 20:32provided when he died on the cross is so sufficient that God
- 20:35could without any reserve take somebody like Charlie, a
- 20:39believer into his arms into his perfect righteous heaven
- 20:44heavenly realm. There isn't isn't that good
- 20:46news? Isn't that great that that could
- 20:48be done, but it yeah. Any other comments on?
- 20:55Yeah, what you mentioned about relating to this to your kids as
- 20:59far as being satisfied, the glory and the joy it brings us.
- 21:04When you see them graduate from being told what to do when you
- 21:08see that graduate from you trying to get them to have a
- 21:12conviction or or make up your mind and be mature to do the
- 21:17right thing on your own. When you see that graduation
- 21:20happening and you see that maturity, it glorifies you
- 21:23doesn't like it it, it makes you so proud, makes you so happy,
- 21:27it's fulfilled. Well, Jesus Christ, I mean, God
- 21:30saw his Son fulfill all things like he matured above where the
- 21:38first Adam failed. He, he, God was there watching
- 21:44his son, his own son, his own flesh, be out there and tried
- 21:50and he always chose maturely without him.
- 21:56You know, I don't think God had to discipline his son, but his
- 22:01Son had to grow up in wisdom and instruction and in
- 22:05righteousness. It's like you had to be taught,
- 22:08but evidently in order for God to be pleased, he matured
- 22:14according to what God considers perfect, and he became a
- 22:19perfect, great high priest. And I think you can experience
- 22:22that like you were saying. Oh yeah.
- 22:24Sure. Hey man, Cameron, I I hit the
- 22:29camera to get you unmuted, but it's just spinning on my end.
- 22:33So we'll go on to the next first, but you can hop on
- 22:35whatever that goes through, or I might have to retry it.
- 22:41All right. Verse 7 then said, I lo, I come
- 22:48to do thy will, O God, is what it says.
- 22:51But in the parentheses, I'll read the whole thing.
- 22:54But then then said, I lo, I come in the volume of the book, it is
- 22:59written of me to do thy will, O God.
- 23:02So when I read a verse like that, I like to read it without
- 23:05the parentheses so I can see what he actually is saying.
- 23:09So he came to do the will of the Father so that he could provide
- 23:16this, this perfect sacrifice. Anything else on that end?
- 23:22I'm just so happy that he said, Lo, I come to do thy will, O
- 23:30God. It's almost like he had a choice
- 23:34and think of, I forget, I think somebody has counted the
- 23:39prophecies one time, I forget how many someone said, I think
- 23:42there's like 450 or more prophecies of Christ coming.
- 23:47And so when he says in the volume of the book, it is
- 23:50written of him, he ain't kidding.
- 23:52Like there's, I'm assuming I probably insulted him with that
- 23:55number. There's probably a lot more, but
- 23:59there's a whole volume and he's looking at the Scripture, he's
- 24:02looking at the word of God. And that book is it is a whole
- 24:05volume of of testifying of him. I mean, look at Isaiah, you guys
- 24:08read some of that tonight of God talking about his son coming in
- 24:14and Jesus is looking at that and say, you know, like it, you
- 24:17know, like it, like it is written in that book.
- 24:20A lot of times it's me, I'm here, I'm coming.
- 24:24It's not another one. It's not another Christ.
- 24:26It's not another priest. It's not another Aaron or
- 24:29anything like that or Moses. It's me.
- 24:32The one that the book is telling, speaking about is me.
- 24:36I am come to do thy will, O God. A.
- 24:43Couple things one is I think that shows us that Christ was
- 24:47speaking, if you will, even in the Old Testament and then kind
- 24:53of like what Andrew just said in that volume of the book and I
- 24:57always. Actually have a little.
- 25:01I guess I have a little jealousy of those two that was on the
- 25:04road to Emmaus. There in Luke 24 and verse 27
- 25:07says after he, after Christ says, ought not Christ to have
- 25:13suffered these things and to enter into His glory like He
- 25:16says ought not like? Don't you know that He should
- 25:19have done this? And then it says in verse 27 and
- 25:21beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them
- 25:26and all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself.
- 25:29So I think there was at least two people that got the full
- 25:34volume right. They got to hear and I am
- 25:37jealous of that. Obviously.
- 25:41I really envy them for getting to hear him personally expound.
- 25:45I'd say, you know, I just, I said it and then I thought I
- 25:50don't think they were the only ones.
- 25:51But I'll tell you another guy that got to hear it is Paul.
- 25:54That's right, neither was I taught this of.
- 25:56Man. But.
- 25:58By Jesus himself, you know, I guarantee you Jesus done the
- 26:03same thing for him and went through all of them and
- 26:05expounded it to him personally. And that I think I get kind of
- 26:09thrilled to think about that as well.
- 26:11But but that's what that's what I think.
- 26:13But so like I said that that's what it reminds me of in that
- 26:17verse for sure. Yeah, Dad.
- 26:21Yeah, they said did not our hearts burn within us, right.
- 26:25I did a quick Google search. Andrew, you were very close.
- 26:29If this search is correct, it says there's about 300
- 26:32prophecies, but about 456 passages that can be interpreted
- 26:36as Messianic Jewish basically by the Messianic Jewish rabbis.
- 26:41So 450 is a is a number you heard somewhere.
- 26:45And I was going to say very much the same thing again as what
- 26:48Aaron said. I was going to quote that
- 26:50passage from from Acts chapter 2.
- 26:54There it is the 2 are the two disciples rather on the road to
- 26:57Emmaus. How beginning with Moses and the
- 27:00prophets. And so this is a a quote from
- 27:03Psalm 40, as we've already established and that author of
- 27:06the book of Psalms chapter 40. He's already saying in the
- 27:09volume of the book. It is written of me.
- 27:11So you just that author had the Old Testament writing like
- 27:16literally the five books of Moses to go on.
- 27:18And he just said that book is just chock full of these
- 27:21prophecies. And then you get to the Psalms
- 27:24and there's just Messianic Psalm 1 after the other after the
- 27:27other. So it's it's there's a volume
- 27:30written about this concept of a body hast thou prepared and that
- 27:35he was going to come in First Corinthians 15, Paul gives us
- 27:42that very clear description of what the gospel is right, that
- 27:45he was crucified and raised again the third day according to
- 27:49the scriptures. I like how he says that and and
- 27:52so someone, a Jewish person like the apostle Paul, who knew that
- 27:56book very, very, very, very well.
- 27:58He could see it jumping out the pages all over the place, right.
- 28:02So I think the more we read the Old Testament, the more Christ
- 28:06will see in it. That's.
- 28:07For sure. Delvin.
- 28:11Yeah, I just appreciate that Jesus came to do the will of God
- 28:17and not to do his own will. Right.
- 28:20And and it says in John 638 it says, For I came down from
- 28:24heaven not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent
- 28:28me. And there's also many other
- 28:31scriptures. John 5:30 it says I came of my
- 28:35own self do nothing as I hear I judge and my judgement are just
- 28:39because I seek not my own will, but the will of the Father which
- 28:43has sent me and so it the scripture.
- 28:47I can't think of the verse right now off the top of my head.
- 28:50I should but it's the will of the father that all should come
- 28:54to know the gospel and to get saved right and to to come to
- 29:00the knowledge. I think it says of Jesus Christ
- 29:03something of that sort. So that is the will of the
- 29:06Father and I'm just glad that that and it blesses me that
- 29:10Jesus came willingly, did his Father's will for for mankind.
- 29:17Yeah, as you guys were talking, I just remembered I could, I had
- 29:21to go look where it was real quick.
- 29:22But back in Hebrews 5, verses 789, I'm going to read that real
- 29:28quick, just to remember what it meant to do God's will.
- 29:31He says, during the days of His flesh, when He had offered up
- 29:34prayers and supplication with strong crying and tears unto Him
- 29:38that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that He
- 29:41feared though He were a Son, yet learned He obedience by the
- 29:45things which He suffered, and then, being made perfect, He
- 29:49became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that
- 29:52obey Him. Yes, when He says He came to do
- 29:55the will the Father, He meant it and it was.
- 29:59That. Actually gave us eternal
- 30:01security. If he would have sharped his
- 30:04duty there, we would yet be in our sins like we were Friar.
- 30:08So praise God that. God, God has God has always
- 30:15wanted someone to do his will. And Jesus says I'll, I'll do it.
- 30:19I come to do your. Amen.
- 30:21Yeah, and surprise he actually could and he actually did all
- 30:25the way to the death and then the resurrection again.
- 30:28Man, that's good plum good. Verse 8 above when he said
- 30:36sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin,
- 30:41thou wouldest not, neither had his pleasure therein, which are
- 30:45offered by the law. Then said he, Lo, I come to do
- 30:49thy will, O God, he taketh away the 1st that he may establish
- 30:55the SEC. This has already been commented
- 30:57on a little bit I believe by Aaron and maybe some others here
- 31:00too. But he is reiterating that he
- 31:02did not have pleasure in those offerings and those those
- 31:05sacrifices, but that he came to take away the 1st that he would
- 31:10establish. It's like that.
- 31:12Is that good or what? Yeah, it's, it's almost.
- 31:16It looks to me like if you don't understand the significance or
- 31:21the the what it means when he says he when he quoted verse 5
- 31:29and 6, it's like this is what it means.
- 31:32He didn't like those things. Then he said in verse 7 though I
- 31:37come to do that I will. And then he said like he re
- 31:40quotes verse 6 here in eight and then quotes verse 7 again in 9
- 31:47said LOI come to do thy will, O God without the preemies like.
- 31:52And then he says he taketh away the 1st that he may establish
- 31:56the second. So he's like, if if you didn't
- 31:59catch what that thing mean, if God had no pleasure and what the
- 32:05whole system and the law could offer him, if it wasn't perfect,
- 32:09if it didn't make you perfect, if it didn't take away the sins,
- 32:13if it wasn't doing the job and I had no pleasure in it, then he
- 32:17has to take that thing away. And the way that thing goes away
- 32:22is when I come, when I come, the first goes and the second is
- 32:27established. And just like what he says then
- 32:32say Allah come to the will of that to do thy will of God, he
- 32:34taketh away the 1st that he may establish the second.
- 32:38So they can't both coexist, which is what I think is kind of
- 32:47bringing a fork in and a cloud in most churches is we don't
- 32:55understand the concept or we have a hard time with the
- 32:58concept of taking away the first so that the second can be
- 33:02established somehow. We think because the Old
- 33:06Testament speaks of the second Testament coming, we think
- 33:11somehow we need to keep them tight together and they need to
- 33:14work in unison with each other. And the one complements the
- 33:19other one. The one was just simply not good
- 33:23enough. And what they foreshadow of
- 33:24something that's going to be perfect so that we can put all
- 33:27our eggs in the perfect basket. And the only thing that the Old
- 33:32Testament does is it shows us the significance of this perfect
- 33:37sacrifice, this Christ that is to come.
- 33:40And it's not just sort of the hey, still hang on to the
- 33:43imperfect 1. He says, no, you leave the 1st
- 33:46and go to the second. You can't, you can't be an old
- 33:50common and a new common believer.
- 33:52There is no such thing in the context of taking away
- 33:56sentences, which is what he's talking about.
- 33:58Now there's a lot you can learn in the Old Testament.
- 34:01It's very significant. It's I would say it's probably
- 34:03the most significant book because he just said based on
- 34:07that volume is where he's is why he's coming like he's coming
- 34:11based on the volume of the book it's written of him.
- 34:15So but the I don't know the fancy word for it.
- 34:21The my word is the consequences of him coming takes away this
- 34:30the first he can't come if the first stays.
- 34:36The birth has to go for him to come and we need to know that.
- 34:41We need to know that so that we can be consistent when we preach
- 34:44the gospel. Otherwise we're inconsistent.
- 34:47So I think this is a very powerful verse that he takes
- 34:50away the first so he can establish the second.
- 34:53Don't say he's going to set the first aside and perfect it by
- 34:57the 2nd. That's the way it's taught most
- 35:01religions is the the the second complements and perfects the
- 35:04first. No, you have to make a clean
- 35:07cut. That's what I would say.
- 35:09Yep, they're mutually exclusive. They're either one or the other.
- 35:12They can't be. Yeah.
- 35:17I actually looked for a verse that was that was like a perfect
- 35:24quote to this, you know, sacrifice and offering that
- 35:27would it's not but the body has that prepared me and I couldn't
- 35:30personally find one, but I had never saw this verse honestly
- 35:34till tonight in this light in Micah 6 and verse 6.
- 35:39It says we're with shall I come before the Lord and bow myself
- 35:43before the the high God? Shall I come before him with
- 35:46burnt offerings with calves of a year old?
- 35:49Will the Lord be pleased with thousands of Rams or 10
- 35:52thousands of rivers of oil? Shall I come or shall I give my
- 35:56first born for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin
- 36:00of my soul? And actually, even when I read
- 36:02that verse, I started to leave out verse 8 because I was like,
- 36:04oh man, that's pretty worky there at first sight.
- 36:08But but what I was getting at is I never saw this that clearly
- 36:11until I was sitting here reading it again.
- 36:14Verse 8 says the next verse says he has showed the old man what
- 36:19is good and what does the Lord require thee but to do justly to
- 36:24love mercy and to walk humbly with thy God.
- 36:28You know like that is what Christ did truly like he
- 36:33actually did. Verse 8 And I, what else stood
- 36:37out to me in these particular this Micah verse is that if he
- 36:41gave, you know, like they were to give the, the, the first born
- 36:47of their bull or their goat or their whatever on the 8th day,
- 36:51like it can stay with its mother for seven days and on the eighth
- 36:54days to sacrifice it and all that.
- 36:55And he says, shall I give my first born for the, for my
- 36:58transgression? In other words, could I use the
- 37:00same analogy? Could I say, OK, the the bulls
- 37:03and ghosts are not doing it. I'm going to give my first born
- 37:05son or daughter on that on an off as an offering for the sin
- 37:11of my soul. And you know what, the first,
- 37:14you know what that eight day old baby lacks obedience, right?
- 37:20I mean, think about the verses that we just read there.
- 37:22If he if he tried it, if he tried to give his first born,
- 37:26that first born does not have a record of obedience like Christ
- 37:30up. I mean, think about the verses
- 37:32we just read. Lo, I come to do thy will, the
- 37:34thing that made him perfect, the thing that made him the ultimate
- 37:39sacrifice. Is.
- 37:41The verse 8 in Micah chapter 6, The Walking perfectly before the
- 37:46Lord, right. I mean that is what God
- 37:48required. That is what he wanted.
- 37:49You all already said that that's what he's he's been looking for
- 37:52somebody all this time to do his will and there's not been but
- 37:56one to do it right, and that's what makes him perfect.
- 37:59So I like I just never saw that Micah 6IN that light until this
- 38:04evening like till we were studying.
- 38:05This. That's good.
- 38:08That's good. I think that's a great point.
- 38:11You Jesus could not have appeared on the scene as a 33
- 38:14year old man to take away our sins.
- 38:17He had to be have this body prepared for him.
- 38:20He had to do the will of God. He grew in wisdom and stature
- 38:24and the knowledge of the Lord. He he grew in it, and he
- 38:27advanced in his ability to do God's will, doing it all along
- 38:31the way, but perfecting being a man the whole time.
- 38:36Matthew chapter 5, verse 18. Jesus Speaking of the law, he
- 38:40says, Verily I say unto you, till heaven and earth pass, one
- 38:44jot or one title shall in no wise pass from the law, until
- 38:48when till all be fulfilled. And so.
- 38:51He he took away the first, not because he said, well, let's
- 38:55just scrap this whole thing. No, he said I fulfilled it and
- 38:59now I have removed it and I have established a new covenant.
- 39:03The old one is done away. It wasn't sufficient.
- 39:06It didn't do the job. It it, it was found to be weak
- 39:10in the weakness of flesh. Therefore I had a man fulfill it
- 39:14so that we could take it out of the way and establish a second.
- 39:17So it's it is very much to do with doing the will of God.
- 39:22He, the first covenant became obsolete in regards to pleasing
- 39:25God because God has been satisfied, he has been pleased.
- 39:29As Aaron mentioned before, I really like that connection to
- 39:32he Isaiah 53 where it pleased the Lord to bruise him, and yet
- 39:38he was never pleased with these Old Testament sacrifices because
- 39:43it wasn't sufficient. The will of God had not been
- 39:45done. Yeah, Good stuff, Melvin.
- 39:49Yeah, So reason that I see that he's repeating this says he's
- 39:54basically repeating verse six and seven again is 6 and 7 is
- 39:59what you can find that in Psalms 40.
- 40:04And now he's just pointing out here actually what this actually
- 40:09means, right? This Old Testament prophecy
- 40:13means here. And he says, he says, I like
- 40:16what he says there. He says neither had his pleasure
- 40:18therein. And verse 8.
- 40:19Hebrews 10/8. Therein which are offered by the
- 40:23law. So he's making it clear that
- 40:25that he did not have pleasure in the bulls and goats that was
- 40:31offered according to the law and then he says in verse 9 then
- 40:35said he lo, I come to do that will of God talking about Jesus.
- 40:39He taketh away the first, the first, and that he may establish
- 40:45the second. So I just, I like that he's just
- 40:49making it very clear here. And like you were saying,
- 40:52Andrew, it it's, it's as clear as clear that the first has to
- 40:57be put away before the 2nd can be established.
- 41:02And we can't like mix the new covenant in with the law like
- 41:09you, you just can't mix that together.
- 41:11And too many people try, too many churches try that.
- 41:14And this is very clear. So yeah, the the second
- 41:22covenant, the new covenant here that he's saying that has that
- 41:25has to come after the first one was put away.
- 41:29Malcolm Smith in his teaching Jesus and the Pharisees, he
- 41:33talks. No, actually it's not in that
- 41:35it's Malcolm Smith though, but in a different teaching, I guess
- 41:39he talks about that new covenant as being not new in the way that
- 41:44you buy the latest model of a car.
- 41:46You know that it's brand spanking new, but that new
- 41:49covenant is like if someone would invent a brand new method
- 41:53of transportation that is far superior, far better than
- 41:57anything that we've ever seen before.
- 41:58That's that that new covenant and that's that.
- 42:00I just say that to say that if there reverse died when he
- 42:03taketh away the 1st that he may establish that second.
- 42:06That is a that new covenant that is bred and had never been
- 42:10before this, this is a this is a brand new thing that is going to
- 42:15be far superior what he had. Yeah, because he said, he said
- 42:20in Hebrews 8 verse 7 for if that first covenant have been
- 42:23faultless, then should don't have place been sought for the
- 42:27second, you know so and then he's in in Hebrews eight there
- 42:32we were ready went through that. But he points out there that
- 42:36this second is he says I will for this is the covenant that
- 42:41will I will make the House of Israel after this day and say it
- 42:44the Lord. I will put the laws in their
- 42:45minds and write them in your hearts.
- 42:47And I will be to them a God and should be to me a people.
- 42:51So that's the what you were saying, Lee.
- 42:53And it's like a new way of transportation.
- 42:56It's not a new vehicle. It's a total new way.
- 43:00Amen. Yeah, another comment I got is
- 43:04concerning his will and so him and his father are one he says
- 43:10in John and so it's it's also not their will that we perish
- 43:16with this second Peter 39. The Lord is not slack concerning
- 43:20his promise as some men count slackness, but his
- 43:22long-suffering through US word through US word not willing that
- 43:26any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
- 43:31I just like that verse in the context of God Jesus coming and
- 43:36do the Father's will because his will is is that you don't
- 43:39perish. That's what he's coming.
- 43:42Yeah, yeah. That is God's love.
- 43:47Like it's not his will that you perish.
- 43:49He didn't want you to. Yeah.
- 43:51What? I was going to say that's a
- 43:53verse that I always run to to defend fight to argue against
- 43:57Calvinism because he says his bill is that none should perish
- 44:02and yet people do it by the thousands, you know, anyway,
- 44:06verse 10 by the which will we are sanctified through the
- 44:13offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
- 44:17There's that word again, Andrew once and when we when we go
- 44:22through this, this is such a good verse.
- 44:24I mean, it is so good. But let's talk a little bit
- 44:29about what it means to be sanctified if you have that in
- 44:32your heads, because that is a a big miss, misunderstood word in
- 44:40the Christian circles, in my opinion.
- 44:46Yeah. So the definition of sanctified
- 44:51is set apart, like you're separated.
- 44:53You're no longer yoked with the same thing that you were.
- 44:59Like you're, you're no longer in the common flow, you're set
- 45:02apart. So the Bible is consistent that
- 45:07everyone that is not a believer is in the Kingdom of darkness
- 45:11and the God of this world is who you're loyal to and he rules you
- 45:17to be set apart is to be to be sanctified is that you've come
- 45:21out from darkness and was set into the Kingdom of their Son in
- 45:25light. God is light and him is no
- 45:27darkness. So that is quite a, a setting
- 45:30apart. He also set us apart in the fact
- 45:34that he made us righteous. He made us holy.
- 45:37So we're not, we're so far from what we used to be, our old
- 45:40history. We're of the world, we're of the
- 45:43flesh and we're of sin and we're of death and we have no peace.
- 45:48We're in darkness. And the thing that we are is how
- 45:52we act and we represent darkness.
- 45:55And with no light, when you're sanctified, you're set apart.
- 46:00You have the Spirit, you have light, you have Christ.
- 46:04Yeah, if your sins taken away, not just covered, not just
- 46:07temporary, but it once and for all forever taken away.
- 46:11It's quite a setting apart. It's it's not and it's and it's
- 46:15something that he did. He said he came to do his will.
- 46:21And because he did his will, now this is able to be true.
- 46:26But he's able to set us apart once and for all based on him
- 46:31doing the will of God, based on his body being sacrificed and
- 46:36prepared to be a perfect great high priest, based on him
- 46:41hanging on the cross and bleeding, not a bull.
- 46:44And you know, all this that he was building up to is coming to
- 46:47this. And I think this is one of the
- 46:49about the climax of the book of Hebrews, where this is my one of
- 46:53my favorite verses. This fixes every man's
- 46:59conscience that is still trying to find another atonement or
- 47:04somehow find peace with God again after he sinned, or
- 47:09someone that is just trying to be sanctified to have God help
- 47:14him be more pure, to be more righteous so that he is set
- 47:17apart. It's very important to know that
- 47:20Jesus Christ and His work given to you.
- 47:23It's what sets you apart. It's what purified you.
- 47:26It's what took your sins away. The only thing that you can do
- 47:30now that he asked of us is to live accordingly, Live in that
- 47:34sanctified life where it says sanctify yourselves before God.
- 47:38I think there's a verse that says that not to be sanctified,
- 47:42but because you are live in that set apart lifestyle with the
- 47:46light of with the light of Christ in you, lit up by the
- 47:50light of the gospel, changed by the power of God, living in the
- 47:54new and living way, not in the oldness of the letter, but in
- 47:58the new and living way change different, not still
- 48:02representing darkness. So we can't get that mixed up
- 48:07when he wants us to live and act the way that he has made us not
- 48:12so that I'm tripping over myself here.
- 48:15So his, his will is, is that we understand who we are in Christ,
- 48:20that we are set apart. And now his will is also that.
- 48:24That's the kind of life we represent, like we live out it
- 48:28represent, which represents the fact that we are set apart and
- 48:32we are His and we're not of the world and of the devil.
- 48:34And to become a good witness. Yeah, there's a lot more that
- 48:39can be sent to that. That's all I'm going to say.
- 48:41I'm taking a lot of time. Yep.
- 48:43That's fine, Aaron. Go ahead.
- 48:47Yeah, I think, I mean, I think Andrew done a good job when he
- 48:50started explaining that of we kind of you see a word like I
- 48:57think we said this before when we saw the word sanctified, but
- 49:01we see a word and we just attach this this meaning to it and kind
- 49:06of make it across the board the old Earth word sanctified.
- 49:10It must have something to do with with getting sent out of
- 49:14your life or whatever, when actually the if you if that's
- 49:18what you think when you see that verse, you're missing the point.
- 49:21The point is once for all, right?
- 49:23I mean, I think to me, the main phrase in that verse is once for
- 49:27all, not the word sanctified. I mean, you could say that once
- 49:31for all is leading to the setting apart, but I don't think
- 49:36this necessarily has anything to do with taking sin out of your
- 49:39life. I think he's just saying in con
- 49:42in the context of the comparing the two, right?
- 49:45He was saying people were obeying God's will when they
- 49:50brought blood of bulls and goats, but it didn't do
- 49:54anything, right? That one didn't do anything.
- 49:57They were trying to keep his will.
- 49:58They were doing whatever that was what he requested, but that
- 50:01didn't do anything but this one sacrifice once for all actually
- 50:06did by the witch will. That is Jesus coming to do thy
- 50:11will, O God, like he came. That was the will of God, that
- 50:14man would that some man would obey, and he did that will by
- 50:19that will, by his willingness to do so, by that being the will of
- 50:23God, by that we are sanctified through the offering of the body
- 50:28of Jesus Christ once for all. So I think, like I said, I just
- 50:31think that it's easy to get tripped up on a word and miss
- 50:35the point of the verse. And I like the point of the
- 50:37verse is the once for all point, you know, that's that's the
- 50:41point first. I agree.
- 50:42And and that's why I said, you know, all the sanctified, like a
- 50:45lot of people would tend to believe that, you know, they're
- 50:48working on getting sanctified or they're they're progressing in
- 50:51their sanctification or whatever.
- 50:53And that's simply not the case, as you can see by that once for
- 50:56all. Yeah.
- 50:57Well, and, and I guess that's kind of what I meant was I think
- 51:01we, there are verses that may use the word sanctified to
- 51:06indicate that you grow as a Christian, but this ain't one of
- 51:09them. I mean, there, this is not one
- 51:12of them. And that's what I'm saying is I
- 51:15don't want people to see that word and think that it all that
- 51:19because most of the time it's not saying that.
- 51:22But there are a verse or two. We talked about that before.
- 51:24There are a verse or two in there that does seem to indicate
- 51:28a change in a person's life. But this is certainly not one of
- 51:32them. And most of them are not talking
- 51:33about that. Yeah, Go.
- 51:36Ahead, Dad. Yeah, my wife really likes her
- 51:41pottery, clay mugs and cups. We have a whole cupboard full of
- 51:45them, but there's only one that she uses every morning.
- 51:48She has another one that she sanctifies for her afternoon tea
- 51:52and another one that is sanctified for her evening tea.
- 51:55And all the kids know they they all know this is Mom's morning
- 51:59mug and this is her afternoon mug.
- 52:01Maybe it's the same one, I can't remember now.
- 52:03But the evening 1 is a different one.
- 52:04Those mugs are sanctified for her use and hers only.
- 52:08She's even careful with how they get washed.
- 52:10We wash dishes by hand at our place and the kids already know
- 52:15wash that one and put it here. It is set apart.
- 52:18It is sanctified for mama's use only and it ought to be taking
- 52:23WellCare of actually her favorite mug.
- 52:25A few months last year sometime did get broken by my 13 year old
- 52:29son and he was determined to try to find some new mug to replace
- 52:34it with and even see if we can find a pottery maker that could
- 52:38make the same mug. And we didn't quite accomplish
- 52:40that. But the point is that when
- 52:43Christ did the will of God, he took you off that constant
- 52:47treadmill of sin sacrifice where you could never quite get ready
- 52:52for the masters use. You were never quite set apart
- 52:55enough. You were never quite ready for
- 52:57God to use. And he said, OK, now I have one
- 53:00done one thing by the will of God, by doing the will of God, I
- 53:03have now sanctified you to me forever.
- 53:06You are now meat. You are now meat for the masters
- 53:11use. Oh, you are that mug in his hand
- 53:14that can be used you. You might look at yourself and
- 53:17think, Oh no, I'm not sanctified enough.
- 53:20I'm not clean enough. You're arguing with God at that
- 53:23point. God has said that he has
- 53:26sanctified you by one offering forever and you are now fit,
- 53:31meet, prepared, ready to be used.
- 53:35You don't need to make one more sacrifice, nothing else to get
- 53:38close to God. You can now go and offer this
- 53:41news, this message to those that are still in need of it.
- 53:45So that's sanctified is a beautiful word.
- 53:49It is glorious, Melvin. Yeah.
- 53:52You know, we should pay attention to the words, right?
- 53:55It says there we are sanctified. It's not saying we should be or
- 54:02we try to be. It says we are sanctified and
- 54:08and I like what Aaron was pointing out there and that's
- 54:13what I see when I read this verse.
- 54:15The focus should be once, right? That's how we are sanctified by
- 54:20Jesus Christ. Once one time we are sanctified.
- 54:24That's what it says that that's it's just that simple.
- 54:27The for all is an italic, so that was added in there was
- 54:32actually not a Greek word for that, but that doesn't really
- 54:36matter. It just the the emphasis in my
- 54:39mind is we are sanctified through the offering of the body
- 54:44of Jesus Christ once. And, and that for all in the
- 54:49English language, I would say is a final, it's more an emphasis
- 54:54that it's not going to happen. Like there's no other need ever
- 54:56going to rise up ever again. It's one and done once for all.
- 55:00It's I like it there. I mean, I, I think it speaks to
- 55:04the fact that it's a one time deal.
- 55:06And the thing that I've thought we need to mention is that
- 55:10Christianity becoming a Christian has no progression in
- 55:13it. Right.
- 55:16Yeah. There's no progression in
- 55:17becoming a Christian. You, the moment you believe it,
- 55:24you're washed. The moment you believe it,
- 55:27you're seated in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.
- 55:30You didn't sanctify yourself up there.
- 55:32You didn't sanctify yourself to be while pleasing to God.
- 55:38Jesus Christ sanctified you. Like Dan was saying, ready to be
- 55:41revealed in the last day. That's pretty ready to meet the
- 55:47Son of Man, but the Day of Judgment ready to be revealed.
- 55:53Yeah. Yeah.
- 55:54This once for all deals. It eliminates a lot of religion.
- 55:58If you would just read it and believe it, you would stop.
- 56:01You stop a lot of nonsense. Yeah, yeah.
- 56:06And and the other thing it's it's by the offering of the body
- 56:09of Jesus Christ. You know, like we can't just go
- 56:12ahead and and set ourselves apart.
- 56:16We can't we can't do this. We can't do this on our own.
- 56:19There is only one way that that was done once by Jesus Christ
- 56:23and we get to by faith believe that and be counted as as one of
- 56:29him, one of his, you know, So I guess, I guess you said that
- 56:35really well, Andrew, that is not a progression.
- 56:38And, and again, that's something that we hear all the time on my
- 56:42you see, you know, people talking about how that they
- 56:44started reading the Bible when they did this and they did this
- 56:47and that's part of their testimony.
- 56:48Well, that's good. As long as we understand that
- 56:50there is actually no progression in becoming or being a Christian
- 56:55or not being a Christian. It is one or the other, right?
- 56:58And I read another verse. So if you have any other
- 57:00comments, go ahead and use up the remaining 3 minutes.
- 57:03The the the progression that I agree with is you're heart being
- 57:10slowly opens your. Coming to faith.
- 57:13Coming to faith is often a progression.
- 57:16Sometimes it's years and years of people trying to witness to
- 57:20you. That can be a very long
- 57:22progression. But there was one time that you
- 57:27might not even know when it was. Doesn't matter to me when it
- 57:30was, but the moment that God saw that that man is willing to turn
- 57:37from any of his own righteousness and turn to God
- 57:40for his righteousness, he's done with himself.
- 57:43He's repented from his own works, from his own life, from
- 57:46the world. He's repented from anything
- 57:49other than Jesus Christ. All the other things the world
- 57:53and religion and the Bishop and everybody had to offer.
- 57:57He's willing to turn his back and do the 180 and walk to
- 58:01Jesus. And at some point you did that.
- 58:04If you're a believer, at one point you repented and you turn
- 58:08to God. You didn't stop sinning, you
- 58:10repented towards God. That's another word that is
- 58:14misused just like sanctification.
- 58:16Repentance is not. You stop so God can make you
- 58:19clean you or you became clean so God can make you clean.
- 58:23That's just stupid. There's not even, there's no,
- 58:26it's not even logic anyhow. I'm using up all the time on
- 58:29stuff. Yeah, I just, I didn't even see
- 58:31what I was saying there, but Cameron kind of reiterated that
- 58:34too. He said it's it's we need to pay
- 58:37attention to realize whose body we're dealing with here.
- 58:41It's the Son of God, publicly crucified, perfected according
- 58:44to the scriptures, as people more fully realize that and
- 58:48resting that God is not silent. God gives proper amounts of
- 58:51assurance along the way. There is an eternal substance to
- 58:54this offer here. And I agree with that 100% too.
- 58:57OK, yeah. I wish I could have got you
- 58:58unmuted their camera, but for some reason I couldn't.
- 59:03I won't take his mic. Any quick closing thoughts yet?
- 59:07That you really wanted to say? Anybody, anybody.
- 59:12Everybody Satisfied. Good.
- 59:14All right, we're going to stop at 8:00 anyway.
- 59:16So and I just, I I just want to stop on that.
- 59:19No, we're that close. I could push the other one
- 59:21through, but this is so good. I like stop on this.
- 59:23So anyway, All right, as we conclude today's study that in
- 59:28Hebrews 11/1, faith is the substance of things hoped for,
- 59:31the evidence of things not seen. And like I always say, I I hope
- 59:35that your faith would stand in such a way that you would take
- 59:37these words that God gave us and you would believe them to the
- 59:41point that you would rather see that than the reality that's
- 59:46around you in your life. There were true and I believe
- 59:49that actually is attainable as we study the word of God that it
- 59:53would affect us to a greater degree than what our senses
- 59:56would affect us around us. So so join us next Monday night.
- 1:00:01Same time, same place and we'll be back here in Hebrews 10.
- 1:00:06So God bless you for your time. Appreciate you all being at all
- 1:00:08here and we'll see you again next week.
- 1:00:11Thank you. See you guys.
