- 0:03It's Andrea Asteroid, and I thought I would do something a little bit different
- 0:08talking about dating advice because I'm horrible at giving it. Because here's the thing
- 0:19in one inspired me to bring it up. It's because I'm kind of on
- 0:26the old school side, like reading the newspaper, so I'll read Dear Abby
- 0:34and she gets a letter from somebody wanting advice on what to do about her
- 0:40boyfriend because she's on disability and it comes into play and it's kind of a
- 0:49thing because that's what they live off of. He doesn't contribute, so she
- 0:57was wondering Abbey's advice what to do, and because she thinks that if he
- 1:07was to move out, he would be homeless and she doesn't like that.
- 1:14What should I do? If that scenario was presented to me, I would
- 1:21say, you were with somebody for twenty years, you probably had high hopes
- 1:26the relationship was gonna end up different. So you're definitely gonna need to look
- 1:34into counseling to process something as major as breaking up a twenty year relationship,
- 1:42which something I think, what kind of advice is dad tell her to break
- 1:47up? Well, here's why. It's because of the push why she mentioned
- 1:57that it was about how she didn't want him to be out on the street.
- 2:02That's why she decided to stay with him. And to me, yeah,
- 2:07you can say that that's noble and understandable, but to me, I'm
- 2:15just not salt at that. It sounds like more of what I would call
- 2:20a convenience ship, not necessarily love, or at least my definition, because
- 2:29to me, when you love somebody, you expect more out of them,
- 2:34You want things to progress. You just don't let things right out. I
- 2:38mean not that every couple has to get engaged within you know, six months
- 2:45to a year, but after a certain point it's not just blowing smoke.
- 2:50You really need to take that adage shit or get off the pot more seriously.
- 2:57But hey, that's just me. I have the tendency to be a
- 3:00ball breaker and have a there's no law that says that you have to be
- 3:07in a relationship type of mentality. But if you are going to be in
- 3:15a relationship and decide to date, come up with some dealbreakers, put some
- 3:24sort of effort into finding somebody that has similar values and goals as you have
- 3:32in mind. And until the next one piece and Jeck in Greece
