  Speaker 2: We're the munchie that's 420.
• 3:12
  Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying.
• 3:12
Speaker 1: While we've got a moment, let me tell you about recalls.
• 3:18
Speaker 1: Okay, toyota Motor Company said it will recall certain 2023 and 2024 Prius and Prius Prime sedans and I know that we have a lot of people that watch this show that drive Prius and Prius Primes.
• 3:33
Speaker 1: They're going to recall them because they need to replace the rear door opener switches, which the automaker says may encounter water intrusion in the short circuit.
• 3:41
Speaker 1: May encounter water intrusion in the short circuit.
• 3:43
Speaker 1: Recall involves about 211,000 vehicles globally, 55,000 in the US.
• 3:50
Speaker 1: Toyota said that if the doors are not locked and the electronic rear door latches encounter water in short circuit, they could potentially open while the vehicle is moving or is involved in a crash.
• 4:03
Speaker 1: Affected customers will be notified by mail in early June.
• 4:09
Speaker 2: So is that from rain flood car wash?
• 4:11
Speaker 2: Are you washing your car in your driveway?
• 4:12
Speaker 2: Is that any kind of water?
• 4:14
Speaker 1: intrusion Humidity, I guess all that Take your car in.
• 4:19
Speaker 1: Other recalls include the Ford Bronco Sport and the Ford Escape, which are basically one and the same 2022 to 2023 models.
• 4:28
Speaker 1: Cracked fuel injector may leak and cause a fire.
• 4:32
Speaker 1: Oops, oil hose may burst.
• 4:34
Speaker 1: On the Aston Martin.
• 4:35
Speaker 1: I know that you've got a couple in the garage.
• 4:37
Speaker 2: Oh no, I've got to check mine.
• 4:39
Speaker 1: The DBX 23 and 24 oil hose may burst.
• 4:41
Speaker 2: DBX 707 is an awesome car.
• 4:45
Speaker 1: Pretty much every 23 and 24 Audi known to man front passenger airbag may deactivate.
• 4:51
  Speaker 1: Yeah, audis A3, a4, a8, e-tron, q3, rs.
• 4:57
Speaker 1: It's a whole list of them.
• 4:58
Speaker 1: I'm not going to go through all the alphabet.
• 5:00
Speaker 1: Yeah, all of that.
• 5:01
Speaker 1: So last one, aston Martin DBX, also loose electrical cables in the battery fuse box.
• 5:09
Speaker 1: You know that's not a good thing.
• 5:11
Speaker 1: As a matter of fact, speaking of which, I ran into Robert B McIntyre a couple of weeks ago at the Carver.
• 5:19
  Speaker 1: Coffee.
• 5:21
Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, the Kroger Coffee.
• 5:23
Speaker 1: Yeah, we did, and he had a carburetor fire in his 427 1970 Corvette.
• 5:30
Speaker 1: This was a couple of years ago and it really did a lot of damage to the car, especially the distributor and everything.
• 5:38
Speaker 1: It was a big mess and cost him a lot of money.
• 5:41
Speaker 1: He didn't have a fire extinguisher and he said you know, if I'd have just had a fire extinguisher I'd have put the fire out, but I didn't.
• 5:48
Speaker 1: So my goal this week is to go and buy an ABC small fire extinguisher and put it in the car.
• 5:55
  Speaker 1: Yeah, why not?
• 5:56
Speaker 1: It doesn't hurt, it doesn't weigh anything.
• 5:59
Speaker 3: Where are you going to put it?
• 5:59
Speaker 3: I'll put it in the back.
• 6:06
Speaker 3: Yeah, as long as you have access to it.
• 6:07
Speaker 2: Well, yeah, I mean, that's a good idea for everybody.
• 6:09
Speaker 1: I could drill holes in the carpet and mount it right behind the seat.
• 6:12
Speaker 2: Then you'd have to move your nitrous bottle, and that wouldn't my nitrous bottle.
• 6:17
Speaker 1: But anyway, I thought about that.
• 6:19
Speaker 1: I thought you know it'd be my luck.
• 6:23
Speaker 2: Do you have a first aid kit?
• 6:24
Speaker 2: You probably need one of those too.
• 6:26
Speaker 2: I don't know whether I do or not.
• 6:29
Speaker 2: Just look to get the small one and get them from the Walmart or Target or whatever.
• 6:32
Speaker 3: You can get some real small yeah.
• 6:34
  Speaker 2: A couple of Band-Aids and some Methyl-Aid.
• 6:35
  Speaker 2: Methyl-aid.
• 6:38
  Speaker 3: Mercurochrome.
• 6:39
  Speaker 1: Mercurochrome.
• 6:40
Speaker 2: Dump some Mercurochrome on it and scream like a kid Rub some dirt.
• 6:43
Speaker 2: Pick a little box of dirt, rub some dirt on it.
• 6:45
  Speaker 2: That's it Anyway.
• 6:48
Speaker 3: Get some super glue.
• 6:50
Speaker 2: Well, that's what they do in surgeries.
• 6:51
Speaker 2: Now yeah, you ought to know, yeah, I know, they super glue surgical procedures.
• 7:05
Speaker 3: The other reason I asked about where you were going to put it was I had one in my truck.
• 7:06
Speaker 3: Can we tell them where to put it?
• 7:07
Speaker 3: I used to carry one in my truck and I never needed it.
• 7:08
Speaker 3: But somebody else needed it and I had to go in and go in underneath the back seat of the truck.
• 7:13
Speaker 3: I had to fold the seat up, get the stuff out of the way.
• 7:15
Speaker 3: Anyway, it took what seemed like a long time to get it out and it was very inconvenient.
• 7:21
Speaker 3: If you're in a hurry and I learned real quick don't put it someplace that's hard to get to.
• 7:27
Speaker 1: Well, I have to tell you, when you said where are you going to put it, and I thought I'll put it in the back.
• 7:30
Speaker 1: And I thought no, because if there's an electrical fire, guess what's not going to open the rear truck and it has no key back there.
• 7:38
Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah yeah, so we don't put it back there Got to be accessible from the doors.
• 7:43
Speaker 1: Yeah, going to have to probably put it behind the passenger seat or something.
• 7:46
Speaker 1: Yeah, just behind you somehow, yeah, so anyway, that's a thought, that's a good idea.
• 7:52
Speaker 1: I guess we don't have our guest.
• 7:55
Speaker 3: No, I text him and I got a text back saying who is this and I went okay, so I sent him the invite again.
• 8:03
Speaker 3: Apparently he uh yeah who is?
• 8:05
Speaker 2: hasn't registered yeah, let me say something real quick for you um kylie, my granddaughter bought a car yesterday, her first car.
• 8:13
Speaker 2: So in the next couple about three weeks we're going to have her on with the description of her process uh, yeah, you gotta tell how old she is she's 16, yeah she saved her money to buy the car.
• 8:25
Speaker 2: Obviously, you know she had some help from grandparents and her parents and things, but we're going to have her on the show in about three weeks with the salesman from Emmons Autoplex.
• 8:33
Speaker 2: Thank you, Gary and Jerry, for allowing us to go buy a car from you.
• 8:36
Speaker 2: I guess we could say that yeah, and it's going to be fun.
• 8:40
Speaker 2: So she's all excited.
• 8:41
Speaker 2: You know it's funny.
• 8:43
Speaker 1: We somehow have stumbled into Emmons, I guess through the drag racing, sure Yep, and that has been a gold Matter of fact.
• 8:52
Speaker 1: They gave us one of their hard-earned trophies Can you see it here the Wally here Wally.
• 8:56
Speaker 1: Yep, anyway, great guys, really an upscale used car dealership.
• 9:03
Speaker 1: Not a lot, but a dealership.
• 9:05
Speaker 2: It is a fantastic facility.
• 9:07
Speaker 2: The place was busy, the place was rocking.
• 9:10
Speaker 1: Yeah Well, they've got a great reputation down there in the Friendswood area and I'll tell you, they're an upstanding group of guys.
• 9:17
Speaker 1: They're triplets, the three boys.
• 9:21
Speaker 1: They do a lot of drag racing and they've got a great bevy of cars, mainly Camaros, old Camaros that they race in different divisions of NHRA.
• 9:33
Speaker 1: Sportsmen and great guys.
• 9:35
Speaker 2: If you ever get a chance to.
• 9:36
Speaker 1: If you see them, they're going to have Lucas oil painted on the side of the car.
• 9:40
Speaker 1: All the cars are white and if you ever get a chance, stop by their pit wherever they are and say hello, because it's a big pit.
• 9:47
Speaker 3: It is Well, they've got a lot of cars.
• 9:49
Speaker 2: Yeah, they're running a lot of cars, but nevertheless, we're going to have her on with those folks in about three weeks.
• 9:53
Speaker 1: By the way, speaking of reminiscing and thanking people, Mecham Auctions sent out a press release regarding Houston $29.4 million in sales, 730 vehicles sold for a sell-through rate exceeding 71%.
• 10:11
Speaker 1: Wow, so 71% of the cars that were brought to Mecham got sold and that's awesome.
• 10:18
Speaker 1: I didn't realize Walworth, wisconsin, is where they're headquartered.
• 10:22
Speaker 3: Okay, Well, I knew it was in Wisconsin but I wasn't sure where.
• 10:24
  Speaker 1: That's not West-Conson, it's Wisconsin.
• 10:27
Speaker 2: What did I say?
• 10:27
Speaker 1: That's okay, west-conson, but you know it is what it is, where they make cheese.
• 10:34
Speaker 1: We make a lot of cheese there.
• 10:36
Speaker 1: So some of the cars that were sold here, I got to give you the prices 2008 Mercedes-Benz SLR, mclaren Roadster $357,500.
• 10:48
Speaker 1: Is that the number one sell?
• 10:49
  Speaker 1: Uh-huh?
• 10:50
Speaker 1: Okay, number two is the 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170.
• 10:57
Speaker 1: And they didn't make very many of those no, $242,000.
• 11:02
Speaker 1: Yikes, and they didn't make very many of those, no, $242,000.
• 11:05
  Speaker 1: Yikes.
• 11:05
  Speaker 1: Mercedes-benz 300 SL replica A replica $220,000.
• 11:11
Speaker 1: Is that the Gullwing?
• 11:13
  Speaker 2: I think so.
• 11:14
Speaker 2: Well, yeah, it could be, and we should be doing our guesstimations on what they sold.
• 11:18
Speaker 1: Lamborghini Murcielago Roadster $209,000.
• 11:23
Speaker 1: And here comes a trio of 2023 Dodge Challengers SRT Demons, 170s from 198, 198, and 192.
• 11:35
  Speaker 1: $1,000.
• 11:39
Speaker 1: Okay, chevy Corvette Custom Convertible $181,000.
• 11:44
  Speaker 1: That's a 1960.
• 11:46
  Speaker 1: I don't know what I said.
• 11:46
  Speaker 1: A 1960 Corvette custom convertible $181,500.
• 11:51
Speaker 1: An 89 Porsche 930 Turbo slant nose, whatever, that is $176,000.
• 11:59
Speaker 1: And another one of those 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170s, probably had about 10 more miles on it than the other ones Probably did, sold for $167,750.
• 12:09
Speaker 2: Knocked it down a couple grand.
• 12:10
Speaker 1: Yeah, so at any rate, congratulations.
• 12:13
Speaker 1: Mecham is a great auction company.
• 12:15
Speaker 1: They come to Houston once a year and if you didn't make it out this year, be sure and put it on your calendar for next year to go and see it, because it truly is a car show within an auction.
• 12:26
Speaker 3: And it's once you get to look at the cars.
• 12:27
Speaker 3: But the whole auction process is such a show with the lights and the sound.
• 12:34
Speaker 1: And it runs so smoothly you never miss a beat.
• 12:36
Speaker 2: Well, it appears that way, but I'm sure there's the link ups every now and then?
• 12:39
Speaker 1: Oh well, you know that there is, but what you see, if you're sitting?
• 12:43
  Speaker 2: Yeah, flawless.
• 12:43
  Speaker 1: Yeah, if you're sitting, it's.
• 12:44
Speaker 1: They got it together.
• 12:46
Speaker 2: And starting Thursday I guess started Pebble Beach for Barrett-Jackson.
• 12:51
  Speaker 2: Yes.
• 12:51
  Speaker 3: Barrett-Jackson is running.
• 12:52
  Speaker 3: Barrett-jackson is on.
• 12:52
  Speaker 2: Pebble Beach.
• 12:55
  Speaker 1: That's a whole different thing.
• 12:57
Speaker 1: But so far as an auction A.
• 12:58
Speaker 1: Concours d'Elegance with an auction attached to it.
• 13:01
Speaker 1: You know, keels and Wheels had an auction company that they paired up with at least for one season, I remember Right and it took up a lot, a big footprint there on the property and they don't have a lot of room, and was it worth it?
• 13:16
  Speaker 1: I don't know.
• 13:17
Speaker 1: I'm not an auction guy.
• 13:18
Speaker 1: I don't go to all these auctions because I'm.
• 13:23
Speaker 2: That's not what I'm into, but yeah um, you might imagine that it's probably, you know well, you said, the footprint probably damages some of the property and there's a lot of.
• 13:33
Speaker 2: It's a very well, because right.
• 13:34
Speaker 3: They had a lot of their area.
• 13:35
Speaker 3: A lot of those cars were on the grass right and not on the concrete exactly they had some ramps to get up over the curb, to get onto the grass, with some of them.
• 13:43
Speaker 2: Uh, so it probably was create your own chaos.
• 13:46
Speaker 2: Not that, yeah, but a show, concours d'elegance.
• 13:49
Speaker 1: It is a high-end show, has a lot of classic antiques, um, really specialized cars and, uh, keels and wheels has definitely got all of that going for it.
• 14:02
Speaker 1: But they've also got themes the corvette theme, the ferrari theme, the ford versus ferrari theme and those are kind of like shows within the show and those are kind of fun if you, if you really do a little bit of homework, don't have to do a lot, a little bit of homework to find out about the show and those specialty items that they have within the show Tons of fun.
• 14:27
Speaker 2: And who's the number one?
• 14:28
  Speaker 2: Well, number one, they're bringing a celebrity's car, a singing celebrity's car.
• 14:32
  Speaker 2: And who's that?
• 14:32
Speaker 2: It's going to be Cher.
• 14:34
Speaker 2: It's going to have her Dino Ferrari there.
• 14:36
Speaker 3: Yes, it'll be there, I don't know if Cher's going to be there.
• 14:39
Speaker 3: Well, I heard a rumor Rob's going to start a rumor.
• 14:41
  Speaker 2: Start a rumor.
• 14:42
Speaker 2: Yeah, start a rumor, don's going to dress like Cher.
• 14:45
Speaker 1: Well, you know what's in town right now is the musical Cher yeah Down at Hobby Center.
• 14:50
Speaker 2: There you go Kind of putting two and two together there.
• 14:52
Speaker 3: She'll just step out of that and go to the other one.
• 14:54
Speaker 2: Yeah the lead singer.
• 14:55
Speaker 2: I three lead singers.
• 15:03
Speaker 2: I think the Cher show is a progression of her career.
• 15:04
Speaker 2: I believe there is.
• 15:04
Speaker 2: I haven't seen the show, that's my impression I get when I see the advertisements.
• 15:08
Speaker 3: Which one's going to be down there with a car Tall?
• 15:10
Speaker 1: Skinny Girl that sings, not Leslie.
• 15:11
  Speaker 2: Leslie can sing.
• 15:18
Speaker 1: She comes from a musical family.
• 15:19
Speaker 2: I know she does.
• 15:20
Speaker 2: She plays the drums.
• 15:21
Speaker 2: I offer her all the time.
• 15:23
Speaker 2: You want to jump on my kit and rock on, yeah.
