Transcript
- 0:02Speaker 1: Take take cake, Take cake cake, Take cake, cake tig.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Take that lower back tattoo when you were in your
- 0:12Speaker 2: teenage years, late teens.
- 0:14Speaker 3: Maybe your mom signed off on it and you got
- 0:16Speaker 3: it when you were mom signed.
- 0:19Speaker 2: I knew a couple girls whose mom signed off on this.
- 0:21Speaker 3: Yeah, and you got.
- 0:23Speaker 2: That lower back tattoo and you thought it was super cute.
- 0:26Speaker 2: But then they started calling it the tramp stamp, and
- 0:31Speaker 2: it had a stigma attached to it.
- 0:34Speaker 1: Could tell us in detail.
- 0:36Speaker 3: No.
- 0:37Speaker 2: If you know, you know, and you started to feel
- 0:41Speaker 2: embarrassed that you had this quote unquote tramp stamp and
- 0:45Speaker 2: you thought, you know what, I'm never gonna wear low
- 0:48Speaker 2: rise jeans ever.
- 0:50Speaker 3: Again, Well, don't worry.
- 0:52Speaker 2: Gen Z has actually made it all okay, because wow, it's.
- 0:56Speaker 3: No longer called the tram stamp.
- 0:58Speaker 2: It is now called the ca caketopper.
- 1:01Speaker 1: And can you fill it fill it in for me?
- 1:03Speaker 1: What does that mean?
- 1:04Speaker 4: Oh?
- 1:04Speaker 3: Your cakes, your booty cheeks, oh cake topper?
- 1:06Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, now we're back tattoo right above the buns.
- 1:10Speaker 2: It's called the cake topper now. Yeah, yeah, thanks gen Z.
- 1:15Speaker 2: We really appreciate you. Because now if you look over
- 1:18Speaker 2: at your mom, she might have a cake topper, and
- 1:21Speaker 2: you didn't know this whole time. So you need to
- 1:23Speaker 2: look over at mom and ask her, mom, do you
- 1:26Speaker 2: have a cake topper? Because it was a whole thing
- 1:29Speaker 2: in the early two thousands. All the celebrity, all the
- 1:32Speaker 2: pop stars had cake toppers.
- 1:35Speaker 3: And I'm glad that.
- 1:36Speaker 2: We don't call it a tramp stemp anymore. That was
- 1:38Speaker 2: very negative. That is sounds very shamey. I I don't
- 1:40Speaker 2: like it, and so I like that it's a cake
- 1:43Speaker 2: topper now, And now I'm thinking, do I get a
- 1:45Speaker 2: cake topper? Nah, it'd be a flapjack topper. I don't
- 1:49Speaker 2: really have anything back there.
- 1:50Speaker 5: If you are, if you are writing with your kids
- 1:54Speaker 5: in the car right now, and they just said, hey, Mom,
- 1:56Speaker 5: do you have a cake topper? Could you call us
- 1:58Speaker 5: and let us get them on the phone at seven
- 2:00Speaker 5: oh one two eight zero one nine eight seven. And
- 2:02Speaker 5: you know what, I'm not gonna just shame mom. Their
- 2:05Speaker 5: dad's out there with some cake toppers too. Okay, there
- 2:08Speaker 5: are one thousand percent.
- 2:10Speaker 3: I feel like, oh, should I even say this?
- 2:12Speaker 2: I heard a rumor that someone in our building who
- 2:16Speaker 2: is a fella has a cake topper. Really, we need
- 2:20Speaker 2: to do some independent research and find out if this
- 2:22Speaker 2: is true.
- 2:22Speaker 5: All right, well, if you have a cake topper, we
- 2:25Speaker 5: want to hear from you this morning.
- 2:26Speaker 1: What is the tattoo? When did you get it?
- 2:29Speaker 5: When the term tramp stamp was getting thrown around all negative,
- 2:33Speaker 5: rec did it make you feel a way? Let us
- 2:35Speaker 5: know this morning. Seven oh one two eight zero one
- 2:37Speaker 5: nine eight seven. Now we can throw away the term
- 2:41Speaker 5: tramp stamp and go a cake topper, which is a
- 2:43Speaker 5: lot more friendly. Today's riety big ninety eight point seven.
- 2:48Speaker 5: It's gave it to Angie. We get some sunshine today
- 2:51Speaker 5: in a high of eighty five. Before we dive on
- 2:52Speaker 5: into the tee, I had to share these texts. Angie
- 2:55Speaker 5: has taught us a new term that has popularized amongst
- 2:58Speaker 5: gen z.
- 2:59Speaker 2: Right, Yes, it is no longer the tramp stamp, the
- 3:02Speaker 2: lower back tattoo.
- 3:03Speaker 3: It is now the cake topper.
- 3:05Speaker 1: That's right.
- 3:06Speaker 5: And Jamie right here in Fargo said, Okay, I have
- 3:09Speaker 5: a tramp stamp and I am all for calling it
- 3:12Speaker 5: a cake topper instead. I got a little butterfly on
- 3:15Speaker 5: my lower back when I was nineteen, and honestly I
- 3:17Speaker 5: still love it. Cake topper makes it sound way classier.
- 3:20Speaker 5: Than it actually is. Sarah out of Moorehead said I
- 3:25Speaker 5: have one, and I'm not gonna lie.
- 3:26Speaker 1: I'm a little embarrassed by it now.
- 3:28Speaker 5: I got it when I was eighteen, because apparently eighteen
- 3:31Speaker 5: year old me thought making permanent decisions was a great idea.
- 3:35Speaker 5: It's like this tribalish design and I haven't seen it
- 3:38Speaker 5: in years. I haven't seen it in years because I
- 3:41Speaker 5: refuse to turn around that far in the mirror. And
- 3:45Speaker 5: then one more from Melissa, who said cake topper is amazing.
- 3:49Speaker 5: This is Melissa out of West Fargo. I have one
- 3:52Speaker 5: from my early twenties. It's this Celtic style design that
- 3:56Speaker 5: I was absolutely convinced was going to look sophisticated forever.
- 4:00Speaker 5: I'm just happy it's officially been promoted from tramp stamp
- 4:03Speaker 5: to cake topp or look at you changing lives this morning, Agie.
- 4:06Speaker 2: Do you want to say, at no point did that
- 4:08Speaker 2: look sophisticated?
- 4:09Speaker 1: Girl?
- 4:09Speaker 2: But I am happy for you celebrating life's little victories.
- 4:17Speaker 6: Victory every morning we practice gratitude on Big ninety eight
- 4:21Speaker 6: point seven. If I could, I would keep this feeling
- 4:24Speaker 6: in a past job busted out when it was someone's
- 4:26Speaker 6: acting hard I just really needed to win. You know,
- 4:29Speaker 6: sure your little victories with us at seven oh one,
- 4:32Speaker 6: two one, eight seven.
- 4:35Speaker 1: You know the voice in that Angie where it's like
- 4:37Speaker 1: I just needed a win, you know?
- 4:39Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 4:39Speaker 5: You ever just feel that in your Yes, you never
- 4:42Speaker 5: just feel like, God, I just needed a w.
- 4:46Speaker 1: Angie. Do you have a little victory for us today?
- 4:49Speaker 2: My kids are back from their summer vacation with their dad.
- 4:53Speaker 1: Oh that's wonderful.
- 4:54Speaker 3: Yes, but that's not the little victory.
- 4:56Speaker 2: I mean, I am obviously happy that they're back, but
- 4:59Speaker 2: I had a moment yesterday where I'm officially the old
- 5:03Speaker 2: parent who needs help with technology. Aiden, who is about
- 5:09Speaker 2: to be sixteen, He helped me reset my MacBook.
- 5:15Speaker 3: It was not working.
- 5:18Speaker 2: And it was, yeah, it was a lot. I couldn't
- 5:22Speaker 2: log into my iclad it was it was glitching. It
- 5:26Speaker 2: was doing the most and I was like, I need
- 5:27Speaker 2: to reset this whole thing. And I was a whiny
- 5:33Speaker 2: and I was like, please help me, aid In and
- 5:35Speaker 2: he was like, okay, fine, and so all he did,
- 5:39Speaker 2: which I could have done, but.
- 5:41Speaker 3: It's better when someone else does it.
- 5:43Speaker 2: And so he, you know, Google searched all the steps
- 5:46Speaker 2: I need to take, and he was right next to
- 5:49Speaker 2: me every step of the way, and I said, oh,
- 5:51Speaker 2: my gosh, I'm officially old. I'm a parent who had
- 5:55Speaker 2: to ask my child for help with technology.
- 5:57Speaker 3: And he said, yeah, you're reminding me of Grandma right now.
- 6:01Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 6:01Speaker 2: And so while that didn't feel like a victory, it
- 6:04Speaker 2: did feel great that now I could restart my MacBook
- 6:07Speaker 2: and I can bring my MacBook to work, and I'm
- 6:11Speaker 2: a real functioning adult with technology thanks to my almost
- 6:15Speaker 2: sixteen year old son.
- 6:16Speaker 5: Yeah, don't worry, Aiden, that is something that I guess
- 6:19Speaker 5: Uncle Gabe would deal with on a daily basis. Here
- 6:23Speaker 5: at big ninety eight points Gabe. Hellay, all right, well
- 6:29Speaker 5: my little victory, I'll tell you what. It's almost going
- 6:33Speaker 5: to bring a tear to my eye, Angie, not really,
- 6:35Speaker 5: because I don't have a soul. But my my daughter
- 6:38Speaker 5: is one month old today. She was officially, not officially,
- 6:43Speaker 5: but she was born on July seventeenth. Today is August seventeenth.
- 6:48Speaker 5: My wife and I have successfully kept this little girl
- 6:51Speaker 5: alive for one month. And that right there, that's not
- 6:55Speaker 5: even a little victory. I'd probably chalk that up as
- 6:58Speaker 5: a victory. But it was interesting. She was having kind
- 7:01Speaker 5: of a fussy evening yesterday. And there's a point where
- 7:04Speaker 5: I was laying with her and we were hanging out,
- 7:06Speaker 5: and it's just the tiny little things realized, like, oh God,
- 7:09Speaker 5: you are getting older. She has so much more control
- 7:11Speaker 5: of her neck now. She can like kind of hold
- 7:14Speaker 5: her head up for chunks of time by herself, which
- 7:19Speaker 5: when she has full control over that, I will be jacked.
- 7:22Speaker 3: And then she got the next chapter of your life.
- 7:24Speaker 1: Yeah, and then she could stop growing.
- 7:26Speaker 3: Yeah, you know what I mean.
- 7:27Speaker 1: So I want her to get to control her next status.
- 7:30Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, it's gonna go by in a blink.
- 7:32Speaker 2: We did get a text from Lynda who said, my
- 7:35Speaker 2: little victory was we went to Below zero wrestling at
- 7:38Speaker 2: the Lights on Saturday night and the sound system wouldn't
- 7:42Speaker 2: play the national anthem, so the audience stepped in and
- 7:45Speaker 2: we all sung it before the matches started.
- 7:48Speaker 3: Yay us.
- 7:49Speaker 1: That is so good.
- 7:50Speaker 3: That's so beautiful.
- 7:51Speaker 2: If there's if anybody took video of this, can you
- 7:54Speaker 2: send it to We.
- 7:55Speaker 1: Would love to hear it. See it however, we can
- 7:58Speaker 1: get our hands out.
- 7:58Speaker 3: That is so heartening. Gives me chills. Thanks for texting us, Linda.
- 8:02Speaker 5: It's kind of it's never great, obviously, I'm sure for
- 8:05Speaker 5: the singer, but when there's audio or technical issues at
- 8:09Speaker 5: a sports game and the whole crowd has to get
- 8:11Speaker 5: in and sing the national anthem, or in hockey, this
- 8:14Speaker 5: happens frequently where they have to start singing the Canadian
- 8:18Speaker 5: national anthem to help out the Canadian hockey teams. And
- 8:22Speaker 5: it's pretty cool to watch a bunch of Americans help
- 8:25Speaker 5: out the Canadians and sing their national anthem. There's like
- 8:28Speaker 5: enough hockey fans who know the words to That's so fun. Yeah,
- 8:32Speaker 5: very cool, so awesome story, Linda. See that right there
- 8:35Speaker 5: is an example of a little victory that if that
- 8:37Speaker 5: doesn't just put a smile on your face and help
- 8:39Speaker 5: get your day started, I don't know what with at me.
- 8:44Speaker 5: We also have to give a big giant shout out
- 8:46Speaker 5: this morning to Linda. If you're just tuning in right
- 8:49Speaker 5: now and maybe you've never been able to turn on
- 8:52Speaker 5: the radio at six' ten or six eleven because you're,
- 8:55Speaker 5: asleep well. Played we do this thing every single morning
- 9:00Speaker 5: to start the day off on a positive, note especially
- 9:03Speaker 5: on A. Monday there's nothing better that set your week
- 9:05Speaker 5: up for success than being, grateful, happy, thankful appreciative about.
- 9:10Speaker 2: Something, yeah we call it little, victories and we always
- 9:13Speaker 2: encourage you to send us your little victories because even
- 9:17Speaker 2: if it's something super, small we want to hype you
- 9:20Speaker 2: up about. It And linda sent us this awesome video
- 9:25Speaker 2: over the. Weekend she went to the below Wrestling.
- 9:29Speaker 1: Ulow zero wrestling.
- 9:30Speaker 2: Zero, yes below zero wrestling and there was some like
- 9:34Speaker 2: technical issues and they couldn't get the national anthem to
- 9:38Speaker 2: play over the.
- 9:39Speaker 3: Speakers but what can we always count on in.
- 9:42Speaker 2: THE fm area community coming together to get the job?
- 9:46Speaker 3: Done take a, listen.
- 10:10Speaker 5: All? Right there is something about when a collective group
- 10:12Speaker 5: of individuals singing the national, anthem it. Keeps it just
- 10:16Speaker 5: makes you want to start singing. It there is something,
- 10:19Speaker 5: about you, know country pride when the entire, audience an
- 10:24Speaker 5: entire group of people is singing the national. Anthem have
- 10:26Speaker 5: you ever been in a game where they had some
- 10:28Speaker 5: technical errors like?
- 10:29Speaker 1: That? NO i, Haven't OH i have.
- 10:32Speaker 5: IT i don't Think i've got to be a part
- 10:34Speaker 5: of you, know the eighteen thousand or the two thousand
- 10:37Speaker 5: or that and sing.
- 10:38Speaker 2: It so shout out to the person who, decided, no
- 10:41Speaker 2: we're doing this together and started singing because there's all
- 10:44Speaker 2: it's got to take the one person. First it's like
- 10:47Speaker 2: starting a slow, clap you know WHAT i, mean plays
- 10:50Speaker 2: the one. Person so shout out to, Them shout out
- 10:52Speaker 2: to everybody for singing it.
- 10:53Speaker 3: Together that was just such a great way to start the.
- 10:56Speaker 5: Day and it's such a great, reminder you, know at six,
- 10:58Speaker 5: ten six, eleven when we do little, victories if something
- 11:01Speaker 5: ever happens to you at any point throughout the day
- 11:04Speaker 5: and it makes you, excited you're happy about, it it's,
- 11:08Speaker 5: cool whatever words you want to, use and you think
- 11:11Speaker 5: no one cares about, it but you, well that is not,
- 11:15Speaker 5: true Because angie AND i we do care here At
- 11:18Speaker 5: big ninety eight point. Seven so always let us know
- 11:20Speaker 5: about those little. Victories for, example we would never probably
- 11:23Speaker 5: have known about this unless maybe we found it on social,
- 11:26Speaker 5: media but we would have never, known And linda not
- 11:28Speaker 5: texted it to us.
- 11:29Speaker 2: Exactly so seven oh one two eight oh one nine eight.
- 11:32Speaker 2: Seven always share your little victories with us whenever they.
- 11:36Speaker 3: Happen you can text us all day.
- 11:37Speaker 1: Long you had a pretty weird, wild not, wild but
- 11:47Speaker 1: just weird.
- 11:47Speaker 2: Weekend and, YES i do want to know what is
- 11:50Speaker 2: the most disgusting behavior you've ever witnessed on a Plane
- 11:55Speaker 2: over the, WEEKEND i was picking my kids up from
- 11:59Speaker 2: the where they spent the summer because they were visiting their,
- 12:03Speaker 2: dad and SO i left at four am From Hector International,
- 12:07Speaker 2: airport had a layover am AN, msp got To, seattle
- 12:11Speaker 2: grabbed my, kiddles then flew right on.
- 12:14Speaker 1: Back that's so. Crazy you had to fly east to go.
- 12:17Speaker 2: West, yes and, so you know, What that's, fine the
- 12:20Speaker 2: things we do for. Love it's, fine except for there
- 12:24Speaker 2: was one of THE i ended up on four planes
- 12:27Speaker 2: in one, day and on the third, plane.
- 12:31Speaker 3: This is where things went.
- 12:32Speaker 2: AWRY i was seated in the very last row of
- 12:36Speaker 2: the plane and so by the back, back and so
- 12:40Speaker 2: IF i looked to my, left the. LAVATORIES i don't
- 12:46Speaker 2: know what these people were drinking or, eating but no
- 12:49Speaker 2: less than thirty five people had to use the restroom
- 12:54Speaker 2: during this three, hour twenty one minute.
- 12:56Speaker 5: Flight, okay maybe they thought they were going To, VEGAS
- 12:59Speaker 5: i don't, know.
- 13:00Speaker 2: But they were going back and, forth back and. Forth
- 13:02Speaker 2: not my favorite to have to sit next to the.
- 13:04Speaker 2: Laboratories gross doesn't smell.
- 13:06Speaker 1: Wonderful, yeah the toilet, concert, yes.
- 13:09Speaker 2: Yeah but the thing THAT i noticed is that nine
- 13:13Speaker 2: times out of ten these people were not washing.
- 13:16Speaker 1: Their, hands nine out of.
- 13:18Speaker 2: Ten nine out of ten times they were not washing their.
- 13:21Speaker 2: Hands AND i knew because you could hear it. Flush
- 13:24Speaker 2: and then the people who did wash their, hands it.
- 13:26Speaker 3: Took a little. Time there was you could kind of
- 13:28Speaker 3: hear and you could hear them the, water, yeah a little,
- 13:31Speaker 3: bit and then you, know then they'd.
- 13:33Speaker 2: Leave but there were several who would go in toilet flush,
- 13:38Speaker 2: immediately almost like right as the toilet, flush they'd come
- 13:41Speaker 2: out of the bathroom and it's, like, oh you didn't
- 13:44Speaker 2: wash your, hands you did.
- 13:46Speaker 1: Ust or even like rinse them.
- 13:48Speaker 2: Nothing, no it was just Like i'm ready with my dirty,
- 13:51Speaker 2: hands waving them around.
- 13:53Speaker 1: The plane as they rubbed their hands on all the.
- 13:55Speaker 2: Seat it was gross AND i was so, concerned like
- 13:59Speaker 2: if somebody he like touches me or is like oh excuse,
- 14:02Speaker 2: Me LIKE I i will be the reason the plane
- 14:04Speaker 2: diverts BECAUSE i would not be able to handle. THAT
- 14:07Speaker 2: I AS i am getting, Older i'm more of a
- 14:11Speaker 2: germophobe THAN i ever, was and so this was NOT
- 14:15Speaker 2: i was really grossed out sitting next and then at
- 14:18Speaker 2: one Point aiden had to use the restroom AND i
- 14:20Speaker 2: didn't tell him to wash his. HANDS i like to
- 14:22Speaker 2: THINK i raised my kids to wash their. Hands AND
- 14:23Speaker 2: i was, Like i'm gonna. Listen, Yeah i'm gonna see what.
- 14:25Speaker 2: Happens i'm testing. Him he, went and sure enough he
- 14:30Speaker 2: did wash his, hands AND i was, like oh my,
- 14:31Speaker 2: gosh thank GOD i did.
- 14:32Speaker 3: One thing right in this. Life BUT i just think
- 14:35Speaker 3: that's so.
- 14:36Speaker 2: Gross AND i know that that's not the only gross
- 14:38Speaker 2: thing that happens on. Planes what is the most disgusting
- 14:42Speaker 2: thing you've ever seen while on a? FLY i want
- 14:45Speaker 2: to know seven oh one two eight zho one nine eight.
- 14:48Speaker 2: SEVEN i that shook me for as soon AS i got,
- 14:51Speaker 2: HOME i was, LIKE i have to immediately jump in
- 14:53Speaker 2: THE i try to shower after being on planes all day,
- 14:56Speaker 2: anyway BUT i just felt LIKE i just had.
- 14:58Speaker 3: Bathroom on me as a.
- 14:59Speaker 5: Fi, NO i know exactly what you mean that.
- 15:04Speaker 1: Is it's here's What i'll.
- 15:05Speaker 5: Say, right if you were at home and you don't
- 15:08Speaker 5: wash your, HANDS i guess whatever you're in your own,
- 15:11Speaker 5: HOME i.
- 15:11Speaker 1: CAN'T i don't, KNOW i don't. Know it doesn't hurt.
- 15:13Speaker 3: Me, Yeah, Philly germany's time to not wash your.
- 15:16Speaker 5: Hands when you're like you, know at a restaurant or
- 15:20Speaker 5: on a, plane or in a public space at the very,
- 15:24Speaker 5: least fake it For angie's well?
- 15:26Speaker 1: Being will you all?
- 15:27Speaker 5: Right seven oh one two eight zero one nine eight
- 15:30Speaker 5: seven grossest behavior on a. PLANE i have partaken in
- 15:33Speaker 5: some gross plane behavior. Before you've like you've done the gross?
- 15:36Speaker 3: Behavior?
- 15:36Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 15:38Speaker 4: What? No? What?
- 15:40Speaker 5: OKAY i was on a plane, once AND i will
- 15:43Speaker 5: tell YOU i made a grave, error BUT i don't
- 15:48Speaker 5: regret it BECAUSE i was sure. COMFY i was on a.
- 15:51Speaker 5: PLANE i had sandals. On, NO i did have, socks
- 15:56Speaker 5: BUT i, was you, know kind of rocking the. Slides,
- 15:58Speaker 5: look and what do you do when you're on a.
- 16:00Speaker 5: Plane you're trying to get. Comfy you're on a nice
- 16:02Speaker 5: little four or five hour, flight and no one's sitting
- 16:06Speaker 5: to the.
- 16:06Speaker 1: Right you get the old feet kind of tucked up
- 16:10Speaker 1: to the.
- 16:10Speaker 4: Right.
- 16:10Speaker 5: There the good news is there was no one to
- 16:14Speaker 5: my right and no one on the front, right SO
- 16:16Speaker 5: i WAS i was mid. Right there was someone to
- 16:19Speaker 5: my left who Was it was this nice lady who

- 16:46Speaker 1: Plane. Yeah think you know a? Person this is AM
- 16:53Speaker 1: i the. Problem it's.
- 16:54Speaker 3: Me the problem is.
- 16:58Speaker 6: Me we'll hear once out of the story and with
- 17:01Speaker 6: your help probably decide if it's right or if maybe
- 17:06Speaker 6: you're the. Problem that's, RIGHT i am the problem On
- 17:10Speaker 6: big ninety eight point.
- 17:11Speaker 2: Seven, woof this is a parenting.
- 17:15Speaker 3: One, hi this Is.
- 17:16Speaker 2: Natalie AM i too old school for telling my kids
- 17:20Speaker 2: she can hit someone back if they hit. Her my
- 17:24Speaker 2: daughter got back from camp last week and told me
- 17:26Speaker 2: there was a girl who picked on her the whole
- 17:28Speaker 2: time and even shoved her. DOWN i asked her if
- 17:32Speaker 2: she shoved the girl, back and she said. No she
- 17:34Speaker 2: told the. COUNSELOR i told her if that ever happens,
- 17:38Speaker 2: again she needs to put hands on the person right
- 17:41Speaker 2: back so they know she is not one to be.
- 17:44Speaker 2: Bullied she and my husband seemed horrified at the, suggestion
- 17:49Speaker 2: but that's HOW i was, raised and it helped me
- 17:52Speaker 2: growing up in a rough. Neighborhood my husband, said that's
- 17:55Speaker 2: not how parenting works in twenty twenty, six and we
- 18:00Speaker 2: need to focus on problem solving without resorting to.
- 18:03Speaker 3: Violence in, THEORY i, agree but let's be.
- 18:06Speaker 2: Real teaching my kid to fight back is probably gonna
- 18:09Speaker 2: shut things down before they really, start AND i think
- 18:12Speaker 2: that's a. Win what do you and your listeners? Think
- 18:16Speaker 2: we have this posted on The big ninety eight, Points
- 18:18Speaker 2: i'm On facebook, page and of course you can text
- 18:21Speaker 2: us call us seven oh one two eight zho one
- 18:23Speaker 2: nine eight. Seven Let natalie know if she's too old
- 18:26Speaker 2: school or if she's got it just. Right i'll tell
- 18:29Speaker 2: you right. Now in my, house we don't start, fights
- 18:33Speaker 2: but we finish. THEM i have always thought you should
- 18:36Speaker 2: be able to hit the person.
- 18:37Speaker 3: Back this is my personal.
- 18:39Speaker 2: Opinion i'm not condoning violence in, general BUT i just
- 18:44Speaker 2: know HOW i grew up and How i've taught my
- 18:47Speaker 2: kids is that if someone hits, you you can hit.
- 18:50Speaker 3: Back you're allowed to defend.
- 18:51Speaker 2: Yourself don't start, fights don't hit, first, obviously but, like,
- 18:57Speaker 2: yeah sock them, back, like don't become anybody's punching.
- 19:00Speaker 3: Bag AND i.
- 19:01Speaker 2: Don't think that any child psychologist would agree with. ME
- 19:04Speaker 2: i don't, know but this is just HOW i was,
- 19:08Speaker 2: raised and that's How i'm raising my. Kids and Maybe
- 19:10Speaker 2: i'm too old, school but to, me that just makes.
- 19:14Speaker 3: Sense in my. Head, sure what do you, Think? Gabe
- 19:17Speaker 3: how were you? Raised what's your? Vibe?
- 19:21Speaker 5: Well, yeah obviously you know if you're having a physical,
- 19:26Speaker 5: altercation no ONE i think should expect their kids to
- 19:30Speaker 5: just sit there and get beat.
- 19:31Speaker 1: Up, right you know What i'm.
- 19:33Speaker 5: Saying you gotta do something to defend, yourself and maybe
- 19:35Speaker 5: defending yourself is running. AWAY i have thought about. This
- 19:38Speaker 5: what WOULD i tell my? DAUGHTER i would, Say, kayley
- 19:41Speaker 5: can you beat her up or? Not if you, cannot
- 19:43Speaker 5: then you. Run but if it's gonna be a fair,
- 19:47Speaker 5: square you, know even sized, fight you gotta defend.
- 19:50Speaker 1: Yourself you do what you gotta.
- 19:51Speaker 4: Do but if you can't take, her, Run, okay get.
- 19:56Speaker 4: Going your dad when he was a freshman in high,
- 19:59Speaker 4: school it was four or eleven and weigh ninety. POUNDS
- 20:03Speaker 4: i didn't even weigh one hundred pounds WHEN i got
- 20:05Speaker 4: to high.
- 20:06Speaker 5: School you know WHAT i learned how to? DO angi two.
- 20:08Speaker 5: Things one be really, funny and two run, okay get
- 20:14Speaker 5: out the, way so there aren't any. Problems but, NO
- 20:17Speaker 5: i don't think you should expect your kid to just
- 20:18Speaker 5: sit there and get beat. Up, obviously you gotta do
- 20:21Speaker 5: something in that.
- 20:23Speaker 3: Moment, YEAH i think it's.
- 20:24Speaker 2: Fine, obviously yes we want a problem, solved BUT i
- 20:28Speaker 2: think you got to get this person off your back
- 20:29Speaker 2: first and then go tell the. Counselor but then the
- 20:33Speaker 2: issue is that both kids always end up getting like
- 20:35Speaker 2: in trouble the person who fights back, too AND i
- 20:38Speaker 2: don't think that's.
- 20:39Speaker 1: Fair, well it kind of is what it.
- 20:41Speaker 5: IS i guess it's just it's one of those the
- 20:43Speaker 5: problem solving skill is gonna Be is this gonna be
- 20:46Speaker 5: a big problem for you if you fight back because
- 20:48Speaker 5: they're way, bigger way, stronger or they know how to.
- 20:50Speaker 5: Fight SO i think it's one of those. Scenarios, hey
- 20:54Speaker 5: daughter of, MINE i don't expect you to just get beat. Up,
- 20:57Speaker 5: yeah but if someone pushes, you, NO i don't want
- 21:00Speaker 5: you to just go start wailing on, them all. RIGHT
- 21:02Speaker 5: i don't think that's necessarily the right answer.
- 21:05Speaker 2: Either, WELL i just think tit for, Tat like if
- 21:07Speaker 2: she shoves me, down Then i'm gonna shove her. DOWN
- 21:10Speaker 2: i feel like that's that's always WHAT i tell my.
- 21:13Speaker 2: Kids AM i a bad? Parent are me And natalie
- 21:16Speaker 2: alone on an? Island let us know your thoughts seven
- 21:19Speaker 2: oh one two eight oho one nine eight Seven and
- 21:21Speaker 2: we do have this up on The facebook page.
- 21:29Speaker 4: On the.
- 21:29Speaker 2: Problem natalie and her husband have differing. Opinions she told her, Daughter,
- 21:35Speaker 2: hey if someone hits, you you hit them, back and husband, said,
- 21:39Speaker 2: no we don't do. That in twenty twenty, six we
- 21:42Speaker 2: search for a problem solving way to get through.
- 21:46Speaker 3: IT i don't know how to. Talk we look for.
- 21:48Speaker 1: Solutions there you. GO i was gonna let you sit
- 21:52Speaker 1: in that one For so what do you?
- 21:54Speaker 3: Think Is natalie too old school for saying?
- 21:57Speaker 2: That or does she have a. Point i'm a. Team
- 22:01Speaker 2: if someone hits, you you hit them. Back But i'm
- 22:03Speaker 2: also aware THAT i was raised in the nineties and
- 22:05Speaker 2: maybe that's not how we do things.
- 22:08Speaker 5: Now, Yeah i'm kind of on. Team you gotta use
- 22:10Speaker 5: your best. Judgment is this a fight you were gonna
- 22:13Speaker 5: lose and lose? Bad a daughter of. Mine if you're
- 22:15Speaker 5: gonna lose, bad run find yourself an, Adult. Angie WHEN
- 22:19Speaker 5: i was in ninth, GRADE i was four eleven and
- 22:22Speaker 5: weigh ninety. Pounds if you would have got some fishing
- 22:26Speaker 5: line and some parachute, PANTS i would have probably been
- 22:29Speaker 5: the most active kite in the sky that. Day, OKAY
- 22:32Speaker 5: i am not expecting this daughter from mine to have
- 22:35Speaker 5: any type of size or mass. Adults, okay SO i
- 22:39Speaker 5: don't think there's gonna be a whole lot of beating
- 22:40Speaker 5: up anybody For. KAYLEY i actually would probably tell her
- 22:46Speaker 5: What misty has On. Facebook misty, SAYS i teach my
- 22:50Speaker 5: kids to go and seek help. First that is probably
- 22:53Speaker 5: WHAT i would tell my daughter as. Well second, time
- 22:56Speaker 5: if nothing, happens you, know then obviously you gotta defend.
- 22:59Speaker 5: Yourself you gotta do so and, bite, scratch, claw whatever
- 23:02Speaker 5: you have to. DO i don't expect you just sit
- 23:04Speaker 5: there and get beat. Up But i'm also not expecting
- 23:07Speaker 5: my daughter to be very, big. Right, WELL i don't
- 23:10Speaker 5: hope there's gonna be a whole lot of beating up
- 23:12Speaker 5: from her.
- 23:12Speaker 1: End, Ever that's so.
- 23:13Speaker 2: FUNNY i thought this was gonna be more on the
- 23:16Speaker 2: side of.
- 23:16Speaker 3: YOU i, yeah hit.
- 23:17Speaker 2: Back But sarah also said our rule has always been
- 23:20Speaker 2: you ask for help the first time or, two find
- 23:23Speaker 2: an adult explain what, happened et. Cetera if it, continues
- 23:26Speaker 2: then nothing is. Done then the rule is you do
- 23:29Speaker 2: not throw the first, punch, slash put hands on someone.
- 23:32Speaker 2: Whatever if they throw a, punch you. Can you have
- 23:35Speaker 2: every right to defend.
- 23:36Speaker 5: Yourself and that's pretty much what everyone Really.
- 23:39Speaker 3: Okay well, GOSH i really skip that. Part i'm, like
- 23:43Speaker 3: not just hit her, back, first hit her, back don't
- 23:46Speaker 3: go find.
- 23:46Speaker 5: Out, yeah Like liz, said my kids will never be
- 23:49Speaker 5: taught to stand there and let someone hit. Them don start.
- 23:52Speaker 5: Fights but if someone puts their hand on, you defend.
- 23:54Speaker 5: Yourself angela, said bullying isn't stopped in schools. ANYMORE i
- 23:57Speaker 5: teach my kids to defend. Themselves if the school doesn't like,
- 24:01Speaker 5: it maybe they need to figure out a better punishment
- 24:03Speaker 5: for the. Bullies and that might, be you, know true in,
- 24:05Speaker 5: school that's not the only place you might deal with, bullies,
- 24:08Speaker 5: however is the only Thing i'd add to.
- 24:10Speaker 1: That AND i like What katrina. Said she actually took some.
- 24:13Speaker 5: Action she, said best THING i ever did was teach
- 24:16Speaker 5: my daughter self defense moves from. YouTube there was a
- 24:19Speaker 5: girl randomly jumping girls on the bus by grabbing their.
- 24:23Speaker 5: Hair we practiced the moves randomly at home for three.
- 24:26Speaker 5: Days thankfully she never had to deal with, this but
- 24:30Speaker 5: she she's used the moves on her friends that play too,
- 24:34Speaker 5: much and she set clear. Boundaries SO i actually like
- 24:38Speaker 5: that there was an action taken here instead of the
- 24:40Speaker 5: age old like if someone, hits you hit them. BACK
- 24:43Speaker 5: i kind of like, That, hey if this, Happens.
- 24:47Speaker 1: Yeah if this, happens here's what you. Do.
- 24:49Speaker 2: Yeah and THEN i get if they get in trouble at, school,
- 24:52Speaker 2: like that's that's not on.
- 24:54Speaker 4: You.
- 24:54Speaker 5: Yeah, Finally, destiny she's kind of in the lines OF
- 24:57Speaker 5: i guess WHAT i would tell my, daughter she, SAID
- 25:00Speaker 5: i tell my daughter to tell them to stop. Twice
- 25:02Speaker 5: if it doesn't, stop it's free hands and she needs
- 25:05Speaker 5: to offend. Herself SO i think a lot of parents
- 25:07Speaker 5: are on the same wavelength.
- 25:10Speaker 1: Here no one expects their kid just to get beat.
- 25:12Speaker 5: Up some parents are a little quicker on the trigger
- 25:14Speaker 5: of saying you hit them right, back and MAYBE i would.
- 25:16Speaker 4: Be i'm trigger happy now if my daughter grows up
- 25:19Speaker 4: to be like six feet and As amanda Noon az
- 25:22Speaker 4: of THE, ufc you're probably not getting really messed with
- 25:25Speaker 4: that much.
- 25:26Speaker 1: Anyway but if you, ARE i know you know how
- 25:28Speaker 1: to end.
- 25:28Speaker 3: IT i developed a really good sense of.
- 25:31Speaker 2: HUMOR i tried to disarm with my humor because this
- 25:33Speaker 2: fist can't do anything.
- 25:34Speaker 1: That's, right either be real funny or really.
- 25:36Speaker 5: Nice This, saturday my wife AND i took our Dog
- 25:44Speaker 5: wanona and are now one month old daughter to The
- 25:48Speaker 5: Red River. Trail there's a dog park along this. Trail
- 25:53Speaker 5: we Let wanona run in for a little while and
- 25:55Speaker 5: then just kind of walked, around literally just strolling away
- 25:59Speaker 5: quite little, white literally with a. Stroller, well it's funny
- 26:02Speaker 5: you say. That as we were walking, ALONG i had
- 26:05Speaker 5: this tiny moment WHERE i was, Like, god are we,
- 26:09Speaker 5: like are we like that annoying yuppie looking. Couple we're
- 26:15Speaker 5: out here with a? Stroller we got the, dog and,
- 26:18Speaker 5: like our dog is kind of a unique. Color so
- 26:20Speaker 5: do people think we like purchased this expensive? Dog and
- 26:24Speaker 5: we were just Why and we both kind of laughed
- 26:26Speaker 5: at it because we were, like, well, yeah kind of
- 26:29Speaker 5: you do.
- 26:29Speaker 3: Look very like average, television.
- 26:35Speaker 5: Very. Basic but then very quickly we had to laugh at.
- 26:39Speaker 5: THAT i had to kind of change my attitude BECAUSE
- 26:41Speaker 5: i had this, realization, like, MAN i don't know if
- 26:44Speaker 5: there's anything more on Earth i've ever wanted.
- 26:47Speaker 1: Ever we're just walking along this.
- 26:49Speaker 5: River we got our lovely dog that we care about so,
- 26:53Speaker 5: much we have this brand new, baby and we're just
- 26:55Speaker 5: enjoying an eighty degree. Day it's a tiny bit, cloudy
- 26:59Speaker 5: but Mostly, sonny what more could you really ever? NEED
- 27:02Speaker 5: i was, like you, know IF i won The, POWERBALL
- 27:05Speaker 5: i don't know IF i would still need more than
- 27:07Speaker 5: just this walk This.
- 27:08Speaker 2: Saturday this is why you could never be a bad.
- 27:13Speaker 3: Boy you want to be a bad boy so, badly.
- 27:19Speaker 2: And yet you can't be a bad boy if you're
- 27:21Speaker 2: over here loving your wholesome life with your, wife dog and.
- 27:26Speaker 1: Kid.
- 27:26Speaker 5: WELL i just remember growing, up you, know and you
- 27:28Speaker 5: would see a couple like walking and they had the
- 27:31Speaker 5: stroller and they had a, dog and you just when
- 27:34Speaker 5: you're in your twenties or whatever and you don't have
- 27:36Speaker 5: any money and, married you don't have.
- 27:38Speaker 1: Any kids or.
- 27:39Speaker 5: WHATEVER i just remember thinking, like, oh, yeah IF i
- 27:41Speaker 5: ever got to, THAT i would THINK i made.
- 27:43Speaker 3: IT i, mean you could be on a brochure for
- 27:46Speaker 3: a realtor or.
- 27:47Speaker 5: Something but it was just such a funny kind of
- 27:51Speaker 5: moment of, Going, WOW i finally have this thing that
- 27:54Speaker 5: not everyone gets to Have, yeah And i'm sitting here, going,
- 27:57Speaker 5: man do we look like a bunch of yup be
- 28:00Speaker 5: just jerks wogging around with their dog and me get
- 28:03Speaker 5: the key both and yeah.
- 28:06Speaker 1: Right but it was, very very.
- 28:08Speaker 5: Nice it felt like a tiny moment THAT i had
- 28:11Speaker 5: been trying to achieve my entire, life AND i got
- 28:14Speaker 5: to have that On, saturday just walking along The Red.
- 28:17Speaker 1: River trail downhill from.
- 28:20Speaker 4: Here.
- 28:20Speaker 1: Yeah wait till the.
- 28:21Speaker 5: Kid can start walking on The Red River, trail then
- 28:23Speaker 5: we're in big. Trouble BUT i just wanted to share
- 28:25Speaker 5: that because it's so. Funny so many times people want this,
- 28:29Speaker 5: thing they have this, goal and then they get it
- 28:31Speaker 5: and then they're kind of, Looking, okay what's.
- 28:33Speaker 1: NEXT i got to do this next.
- 28:34Speaker 5: Thing got to live in the, moment AND i did try, To,
- 28:37Speaker 5: yeah take thirty seconds WHERE i was, like, actually this is.
- 28:40Speaker 5: It this is the only Thing i've ever, wanted you,
- 28:42Speaker 5: know for the past ten years or.
- 28:44Speaker 1: So this is so.

- 30:09Speaker 5: go check if we need certain clothes for certain ages
- 30:12Speaker 5: and we might be able to get. Some And i'm
- 30:15Speaker 5: just so grateful and thankful to you On big ninety
- 30:18Speaker 5: eight point seven for all of the kind things that
- 30:20Speaker 5: have been said to, us and you were totally, right
- 30:22Speaker 5: by the, way the hardest thing of all time at
- 30:26Speaker 5: the same time the most satisfying and gratifying thing ever
- 30:30Speaker 5: to watch this little human hit these tiny little baby,
- 30:34Speaker 5: milestones you, know day after day after. Day and you
- 30:37Speaker 5: told me that would happen in. Messages you told ME
- 30:40Speaker 5: i would be. Tired you told me there'd be days
- 30:43Speaker 5: where she sleeps great and then she wouldn't sleep, Great
- 30:46Speaker 5: and all of those things have. Happened SO i feel
- 30:48Speaker 5: very prepared from the help Of, angie obviously our friends and,
- 30:52Speaker 5: family but also you here who hang out On big
