- 0:00[SPEAKER_01]: Don't beat yourself up.
- 0:01[SPEAKER_01]: It's ask yourself very clearly.
- 0:03[SPEAKER_01]: Why have an item this?
- 0:04[SPEAKER_01]: What has been in the way?
- 0:05[SPEAKER_01]: Is this actually something I still want to do?
- 0:08[SPEAKER_01]: Can I actually do it?
- 0:09[SPEAKER_01]: And then set new measurable goals, set new milestones, and make it happen.
- 0:14[SPEAKER_01]: Welcome to the Beat till you see it podcast, where we talk about taking messy action, knowing that perfect is boring.
- 0:21[SPEAKER_01]: I'm also Logan, Ply's instructor, and fit this business coach.
- 0:24[SPEAKER_01]: I've trained thousands of people around the world, and the number one thing I see stopping people from achieving anything is self-doubt.
- 0:33[SPEAKER_01]: My friends, action brings clarity, and it's the antidote to fear.
- 0:39[SPEAKER_01]: Each week my guests will bring bold, executable, intrinsic and targeted steps that you can use to put yourself first and be it till you see it.
- 0:49[SPEAKER_01]: It's a practice, not a perfect, let's get started.
- 0:57[SPEAKER_01]: Welcome back to the VHLUC interview recap of my course in my Friday or going to dig into the purposeful combo I had with Wendy Cloves in our last episode.
- 1:05[SPEAKER_01]: If you haven't yet listened to that interview feel free to listen to that one first.
- 1:08[SPEAKER_01]: Then come back and listen to this one or listen to this one and see if you agree with what we liked about that one.
- 1:13[SPEAKER_01]: It's your choice.
- 1:15[SPEAKER_01]: That's what's really important about the VHLUC at podcasts you choose.
- 1:18[SPEAKER_01]: You choose how you want to listen.
- 1:20[SPEAKER_01]: Today is July.
- 1:21[SPEAKER_00]: It's very closely.
- 1:23[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but I'm cheating.
- 1:26[SPEAKER_01]: I'm hoping like that windy, but sure she hasn't heard that before.
- 1:30[SPEAKER_01]: It's like my mom's lasting growing up was freezing and like she's super tall so they would always go as a weather up there.
- 1:38[SPEAKER_01]: It's a freezing, right?
- 1:40[SPEAKER_01]: Wow, I know kids are clever and cool.
- 1:43[SPEAKER_01]: Um, anyways, that's I don't know if that popped in my head.
- 1:45[SPEAKER_01]: Welcome to ADHD.
- 1:46[SPEAKER_01]: So today is July, seventeen twenty five and it's national tattoo day.
- 1:50[SPEAKER_01]: It was also another day, but obviously I've to pick this one tattooing the art of inserting pigment under the dermis layer of the skin case you didn't know
- 1:59[SPEAKER_01]: to create a decorative symbolic or pictorial design, or just a sticker on your body, permanent sticker on your body.
- 2:06[SPEAKER_01]: I like to think of it.
- 2:07[SPEAKER_01]: And on national tattoo day, July, seventeenth we set time aside to learn more about the tattooing process.
- 2:12[SPEAKER_01]: It's a societal importance and history.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, here we go.
- 2:16[SPEAKER_01]: Um, yeah.
- 2:17[SPEAKER_00]: I'm in on societal importance.
- 2:18[SPEAKER_01]: You guys in case you don't understand, process a picking which day.
- 2:22[SPEAKER_01]: It really is like what title speaks to us and then we learn about the day as we read about it with you on air.
- 2:28[SPEAKER_01]: And that someday could become problematic, but we'll edit it out that I guess you'll never know.
- 2:33[SPEAKER_01]: So if you don't have a tattoo, you likely, or you're likely to know someone who does.
- 2:37[SPEAKER_01]: And if you've asked them how they knew at the time when they were getting inked, whether they would still want that design on their skin years or decades later, you may have just gotten a peculiar look instead of an explanation.
- 2:46[SPEAKER_01]: There is a certainly a fraternal connection between people who bear tattoos, a connection that those without ink can never really understand.
- 2:53[SPEAKER_01]: We asked one correspondent to address this phenomenon.
- 2:55[SPEAKER_01]: He said,
- 2:56[SPEAKER_01]: tattoos began as a ceremony and they're still kind of like that.
- 2:59[SPEAKER_01]: Once you're in an artist's needle, it's like a little, it's a little like a religious experience.
- 3:03[SPEAKER_01]: It's like the aha moment people talk about having in a business life.
- 3:07[SPEAKER_01]: It illuminates something you didn't see before.
- 3:09[SPEAKER_01]: I don't understand any of that.
- 3:10[SPEAKER_01]: That doesn't resonate with me and anything.
- 3:13[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, meaning.
- 3:14[SPEAKER_01]: So first of all, I overthought my first tattoo way too much.
- 3:17[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, took me fifteen years to get my first tattoo.
- 3:20[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 3:21[SPEAKER_00]: Because of the same thing I thought.
- 3:22[SPEAKER_01]: Fifteen years from when you were eighteen or like, yeah.
- 3:24[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 3:25[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 3:26[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't get one.
- 3:27[SPEAKER_00]: So I guess that's not true.
- 3:29[SPEAKER_00]: I wanted to get a tattoo of my teens.
- 3:30[SPEAKER_00]: My parents didn't know.
- 3:32[SPEAKER_00]: But I started designing it in my teens.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 3:35[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 3:35[SPEAKER_00]: And then I didn't actually get one until thirty.
- 3:39[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 3:39[SPEAKER_00]: Here's old.
- 3:40[SPEAKER_01]: I got my first one on a blind date.
- 3:44[SPEAKER_00]: You got one on a blind date.
- 3:46[SPEAKER_01]: I haven't wanted something to do.
- 3:48[SPEAKER_00]: Wow.
- 3:49[SPEAKER_00]: This is the first time I'm hearing this story y'all.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_00]: Do tell.
- 3:53[SPEAKER_00]: Anyways, how'd that go?
- 3:55[SPEAKER_01]: I never saw a person again.
- 4:01[SPEAKER_01]: And I covered up that tattoo after I left my ex with the cherry blossoms that we then added on to.
- 4:08[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 4:09[SPEAKER_01]: And then I just got others because once you get the first one, you kind of start to just get other ones.
- 4:16[SPEAKER_00]: Well, the hurdle has been left.
- 4:18[SPEAKER_00]: You know, like you're, you're, this is weird.
- 4:21[SPEAKER_00]: Mental block of like, I don't know if I want to keep that thing on my body forever.
- 4:26[SPEAKER_00]: And then after
- 4:27[SPEAKER_00]: After you get your first one, you realize no one actually gives a shit.
- 4:31[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 4:31[SPEAKER_01]: And then also, you're like, yeah, please pick up a podcast of proponents for tattoos.
- 4:36[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'm not, I'm not that worried about it either because here's the other thing.
- 4:40[SPEAKER_00]: You can also change the tattoo or you can cover the tattoo or you can remove.
- 4:45[SPEAKER_01]: Davidson removed all of his tattoos.
- 4:47[SPEAKER_01]: He is a complete blank slate Google it right now.
- 4:49[SPEAKER_00]: No way.
- 4:50[SPEAKER_01]: You will it right now because I thought for sure it's AI and people were saying it's AI and he has done actual interviews about it and he there's no way it's make up.
- 4:59[SPEAKER_01]: He has he spent two hundred thousand dollars getting them all removed and I thought that's on cost to cover remove his entire body.
- 5:06[SPEAKER_00]: I mean he had a he had
- 5:07[SPEAKER_01]: His whole head to toe, like he was so covered.
- 5:09[SPEAKER_01]: So anyway, our neighbor is a shout out to Brianna, Viva Vanish, skincare.
- 5:15[SPEAKER_01]: She actually removes tattoos.
- 5:18[SPEAKER_01]: So like to me, you could just remove it, right?
- 5:21[SPEAKER_01]: You could cover it up, but you, you do overthink the first ones and then you kind of just get them and they just become part of you.
- 5:29[SPEAKER_01]: Also, I've gotten like my dream catcher, my dream catcher tattoo.
- 5:34[SPEAKER_01]: It is really funny.
- 5:35[SPEAKER_01]: When I got it remember this bread, I got the dream catcher tattoo.
- 5:37[SPEAKER_01]: It takes up my whole fucking arm.
- 5:39[SPEAKER_01]: We came back from Cambodia.
- 5:41[SPEAKER_00]: Showed her down.
- 5:42[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, showed her my elbow.
- 5:43[SPEAKER_01]: We come back from Cambodia and like literally no one notices.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_01]: Like you know what one notices.
- 5:48[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm starting to think that like it people don't like it.
- 5:51[SPEAKER_01]: You know, and all the stuff, and so I'm like starting to make this sort of head.
- 5:54[SPEAKER_01]: And then someone who I've never met in person, they only know me through social media.
- 5:58[SPEAKER_01]: I was at an event and they're like, oh my god, is that a new chat to you?
- 6:01[SPEAKER_01]: And I said, it is.
- 6:02[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you.
- 6:03[SPEAKER_00]: I just got it.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_00]: I just got it.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_01]: I just got it.
- 6:05[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 6:05[SPEAKER_01]: And other people are like, that's new.
- 6:08[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm like, yeah, there are people who like have no me for years.
- 6:12[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm like, they're like, well, you're just like a person with tattoos.
- 6:14[SPEAKER_01]: You just have tattoos.
- 6:15[SPEAKER_01]: So anyways, all I have to say is,
- 6:17[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I saw a reel or a meme.
- 6:20[SPEAKER_01]: It was just like tattoos or stickers for adults.
- 6:23[SPEAKER_01]: And like we like pretty things.
- 6:25[SPEAKER_00]: I'm in on that.
- 6:26[SPEAKER_00]: And I was looking up the Pete David something still.
- 6:28[SPEAKER_00]: And I found something really interesting.
- 6:30[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 6:31[SPEAKER_00]: He didn't interview with Variety Y. He decided to remove all of his tattoos.
- 6:37[SPEAKER_00]: And apparently he's not removed every single one, but he's removed the majority.
- 6:41[SPEAKER_00]: He said, on deciding to remove his tattoos, I used to be a drug addict, and I was a sad person, and I felt ugly, and then I needed to be covered up.
- 6:48[SPEAKER_00]: And I didn't, and I don't think there's anything wrong with tattoos, but mine, when I look at them, I remember a sad person that was very unsure.
- 6:56[SPEAKER_00]: So just removing them and starting fresh, because that's what I think works best for me with my brain.
- 7:01[SPEAKER_00]: When I look at them in the mirror, I don't want the reminder of, oh yeah, you were a fucking drug addict.
- 7:06[SPEAKER_00]: Like, that's why you have a sponge Bob smoking a joint on your back.
- 7:10[SPEAKER_00]: So good for him.
- 7:11[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I love that.
- 7:12[SPEAKER_01]: But see, that's the thing.
- 7:12[SPEAKER_01]: You can't just remove it.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, it's a process.
- 7:16[SPEAKER_00]: But it can be removed.
- 7:17[SPEAKER_00]: It's money and time.
- 7:19[SPEAKER_01]: But.
- 7:20[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 7:20[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 7:21[SPEAKER_01]: There's a lot of things you could spend your money on.
- 7:23[SPEAKER_01]: I don't get something you don't want, but also like.
- 7:26[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 7:26[SPEAKER_00]: I like there's definitely sentimentality around the tattoos that that I have.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_00]: I have put thought into them.
- 7:32[SPEAKER_00]: It hasn't been just like on a whim, but also to the more like as you got after you get your first one, the second one, the decision to get it was like much faster.
- 7:43[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 7:44[SPEAKER_00]: Then the first one.
- 7:45[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 7:46[SPEAKER_01]: I also just want to say like you don't have to get them and it's also fine if you get them and don't over like don't overthink it so much because it because you kind of make it perfect and like you're trying to make it all perfect and it's it's just like it's there's no judgment either way like you're going to like we'll go on well we we're very big proponents of ink and tattoos we've had a really fun part of your personality like and also like
- 8:08[SPEAKER_01]: Um, I don't, I don't think I remember by parenting like, oh, you're me so judge.
- 8:12[SPEAKER_01]: I'll never get a job like that has never happened to me one time.
- 8:16[SPEAKER_01]: And I have tattoos all over my hands and like,
- 8:19[SPEAKER_01]: No one notices.
- 8:20[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 8:21[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 8:22[SPEAKER_01]: You know, so most of them are for me anyways, because when I have to look at myself in the mirror all the time, and I have to look at what I do, or a lot of camera live all the time, and I just want something to look at that's not just my face.
- 8:33[SPEAKER_01]: Like I'm so tired of looking at my own face, I would like to see something else.
- 8:37[SPEAKER_01]: So that was really a lot of it for me anyways.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway.
- 8:42[SPEAKER_01]: Back to this podcast, which is coming up.
- 8:46[SPEAKER_01]: Today, we actually kick off agency many eleven.
- 8:49[SPEAKER_01]: It's happening right now.
- 8:51[SPEAKER_00]: Right now.
- 8:52[SPEAKER_00]: If you'd have no idea what that means, and you were like, I need in on this.
- 8:56[SPEAKER_00]: Go to PRFIT.biz slash mini.
- 8:58[SPEAKER_00]: That's profit without the owed up is slash mini.
- 9:00[SPEAKER_01]: It's for applies instructors and fitness instructors who want to improve their business and attract clients.
- 9:05[SPEAKER_01]: They actually want to teach and make the money they want to make.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_01]: So that sounds like you.
- 9:08[SPEAKER_01]: you do want to sign up for this because the next one, with our calendar, if it's possible being Q one of next year.
- 9:16[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we've been literally like tentatively looking at February.
- 9:20[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and it's not doing another one.
- 9:22[SPEAKER_00]: We're not doing another one this year.
- 9:25[SPEAKER_00]: And honestly, it's a killer program.
- 9:27[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 9:28[SPEAKER_00]: And it's also not expensive.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_00]: You definitely do it.
- 9:30[SPEAKER_01]: Sixty to fifty sign up today.
- 9:32[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 9:33[SPEAKER_01]: Three days.
- 9:34[SPEAKER_01]: That's a couple days of replays.
- 9:36[SPEAKER_01]: All right, then we are now really in the countdown of our summer tour.
- 9:46[SPEAKER_01]: We have a huge tour going on.
- 9:48[SPEAKER_01]: We have so many cities that are sold out.
- 9:50[SPEAKER_01]: So many people are so excited to see a person for the first time.
- 9:54[SPEAKER_01]: For the third or fourth time, we can't wait.
- 9:57[SPEAKER_01]: It's powered by a balanced body, which means we actually bring some of the contrology equipment with us.
- 10:02[SPEAKER_01]: You can try it out.
- 10:03[SPEAKER_01]: We have amazing prizes from them to give out or bringing by own.
- 10:06[SPEAKER_01]: So it's opc.me slash tour.
- 10:09[SPEAKER_01]: And then you can see all the different cities and some of these cities you are are easily driveable.
- 10:13[SPEAKER_01]: We have people who are coming to two cities.
- 10:14[SPEAKER_01]: So you can do that too.
- 10:15[SPEAKER_01]: Also, if you have it a little thermo that we're not coming to a city anywhere in driving distance near you and I just want to remind you we're driving for several thousands of miles.
- 10:24[SPEAKER_01]: So you can drive a few hundred.
- 10:25[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you can.
- 10:26[SPEAKER_01]: But it's like if that's not an option, the Calgary event is a virtual event.
- 10:31[SPEAKER_01]: And so it's in person of course, but there's virtual seats that are available and they're limited.
- 10:35[SPEAKER_01]: So you can get those at opc.me slash towards pick the Calgary event.
- 10:39[SPEAKER_01]: And then we come back.
- 10:39[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, that's I just want to call that again.
- 10:41[SPEAKER_00]: If you weren't listening, we have virtual tickets for the summer tour or two workshops.
- 10:47[SPEAKER_00]: Remember that before go to opc.me slash Calgary.
- 10:51[SPEAKER_00]: to go directly to where you find them.
- 10:53[SPEAKER_00]: OPC.me slash Calgary.
- 10:54[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 10:55[SPEAKER_00]: Cool.
- 10:55[SPEAKER_01]: And then we come back, rest up, unpack, repack as we're going from summer to Scotland's fall.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_01]: And we are going to be in the UK.
- 11:05[SPEAKER_01]: We'll be in the leads and in Essex.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_00]: We're running out of seats over there, y'all.
- 11:09[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 11:09[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah.
- 11:10[SPEAKER_01]: It's well.
- 11:10[SPEAKER_00]: It's exciting.
- 11:11[SPEAKER_01]: At the time of recording, every time someone buys is like, this is
- 11:14[SPEAKER_01]: This stock as well.
- 11:15[SPEAKER_01]: It's like that.
- 11:15[SPEAKER_01]: Love it is.
- 11:16[SPEAKER_01]: So leads only has a couple spots.
- 11:18[SPEAKER_01]: Essex, we are offering day passes there, but every time someone buys a two day pass, we run out of two day passes.
- 11:25[SPEAKER_01]: That's not that goes.
- 11:26[SPEAKER_01]: So because it's a week during the week, because it's not nice, like you can go to a whole workshop data in the weeks, feels like a vacation during the week.
- 11:32[SPEAKER_01]: To go to opc.me, such you can.
- 11:35[SPEAKER_01]: I've had a ton of people going, I'm doing it tour in the UK.
- 11:38[SPEAKER_01]: I am.
- 11:39[SPEAKER_01]: You guys, I'm coming in September.
- 11:40[SPEAKER_01]: And we have a ton of our workshops that are happening at these locations.
- 11:44[SPEAKER_01]: You can even do both locations.
- 11:45[SPEAKER_01]: There's only like one workshop that overlaps.
- 11:48[SPEAKER_01]: So, if you see that, me says UK.
- 11:49[SPEAKER_01]: And then we'll come back at a couple of weeks later.
- 11:51[SPEAKER_01]: We go to Chicago for a POT and then we go to Cambodia on our retreat.
- 11:56[SPEAKER_01]: And it's not too late for you to sign up for our retreat for Cambodia because we just bought our plane tickets.
- 12:00[SPEAKER_00]: We just bought a plane tickets and also we just had another person sign up.
- 12:04[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 12:04[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 12:04[SPEAKER_00]: So there's still time.
- 12:05[SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely.
- 12:06[SPEAKER_00]: It's not like, you know, the the plane tickets aren't getting overly crazy right now, which is nice.
- 12:12[SPEAKER_00]: So hop in.
- 12:13[SPEAKER_00]: Come join.
- 12:14[SPEAKER_00]: It's go to crows nest retreats.com.
- 12:16[SPEAKER_00]: It's going to be a pretty small group this time.
- 12:18[SPEAKER_00]: So I'll tell you.
- 12:19[SPEAKER_01]: It's not like big crowds.
- 12:22[SPEAKER_01]: It's a time to come because I can't promise you it'll be
- 12:25[SPEAKER_01]: a small group every time.
- 12:27[SPEAKER_01]: In fact, I know twenty twenty six has a ton of people.
- 12:30[SPEAKER_01]: So you're going to want to do this one because we'll have more time together.
- 12:33[SPEAKER_01]: It's a lot of fun.
- 12:34[SPEAKER_01]: And you can always come a day earlier, stay a day late.
- 12:37[SPEAKER_00]: Well, we would encourage you to stay a day late.
- 12:38[SPEAKER_00]: We actually have two events that we can't include quote unquote in the retreat.
- 12:43[SPEAKER_00]: And those events include going to see an elephant sanctuary.
- 12:47[SPEAKER_00]: And then the second event is a waterfall excursion.
- 12:49[SPEAKER_00]: And the reality is they're both just like longer events that we couldn't fit into.
- 12:54[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they're like the actual retreat.
- 12:56[SPEAKER_01]: Bull day events and also like the waterfall, we have to have a smaller group, whether permitting, you know, all that stuff.
- 13:03[SPEAKER_01]: So that's why they're extra.
- 13:04[SPEAKER_01]: So on the extra date, and we're going to do them before we leave.
- 13:08[SPEAKER_01]: So you should come, roseness retreats.com.
- 13:16[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, we have a ton to talk about with Wendy, but we have an audience question.
- 13:20[SPEAKER_00]: We sure do.
- 13:21[SPEAKER_00]: Brenda Horning, ninety on YouTube asks, can I put a reformer in our garage in the south east?
- 13:29[SPEAKER_00]: So does it so it does get hot in the summer south east?
- 13:33[SPEAKER_00]: Probably like Georgia or maybe Florida.
- 13:37[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 13:37[SPEAKER_00]: I think I'd be more worried about the humidity.
- 13:40[SPEAKER_01]: Good job, Brad.
- 13:41[SPEAKER_01]: Good job.
- 13:42[SPEAKER_00]: Unless you get a
- 13:45[SPEAKER_00]: Which, well, you don't have to worry about the humidity as much.
- 13:48[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's no wood that's going to work.
- 13:50[SPEAKER_01]: Correct.
- 13:50[SPEAKER_01]: Because that's a thing.
- 13:51[SPEAKER_01]: So the thing, so one, I don't know what to reformer you're looking at.
- 13:56[SPEAKER_01]: That makes a difference.
- 13:59[SPEAKER_01]: So if you get a balanced body reformer, that's wood, like a studio reformer, you have to worry about humidity for the wood.
- 14:07[SPEAKER_01]: However, their springs have a coating on them, so you don't have to worry about those springs resting.
- 14:12[SPEAKER_01]: Where is the anthology?
- 14:13[SPEAKER_01]: It's aluminum.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_01]: And so, you don't really like growth too?
- 14:17[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, you could do that.
- 14:18[SPEAKER_00]: I like growth too, it's also aluminum.
- 14:19[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 14:20[SPEAKER_01]: So, is it aluminum, I thought it's fiberglass?
- 14:23[SPEAKER_00]: No, no, it's metal.
- 14:24[SPEAKER_01]: I know, but is it aluminum?
- 14:25[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think it's white.
- 14:27[SPEAKER_00]: Yep.
- 14:28[SPEAKER_00]: It's, it's aluminum.
- 14:30[SPEAKER_00]: It's definitely not plastic.
- 14:31[SPEAKER_00]: It's not fiberglass.
- 14:32[UNKNOWN]: Really?
- 14:33[SPEAKER_00]: We should.
- 14:33[SPEAKER_00]: It's definitely not fiberglass.
- 14:34[SPEAKER_01]: Anyways.
- 14:36[SPEAKER_01]: Well, Brad's gonna, Brad's gonna, it's a prefab.
- 14:38[SPEAKER_01]: I know that.
- 14:39[SPEAKER_01]: It's a prefab.
- 14:39[SPEAKER_01]: Like the way they make it.
- 14:40[SPEAKER_01]: Anyways, the astrology I have friends who have them in Hawaii.
- 14:45[SPEAKER_00]: powder-coded aluminum.
- 14:46[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, there you go.
- 14:49[SPEAKER_01]: Sprout with penitentiant on the tour, not me.
- 14:51[SPEAKER_01]: Anyways.
- 14:52[SPEAKER_00]: I've also picked them up.
- 14:53[SPEAKER_00]: I know what I was freaking at.
- 14:55[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 14:55[SPEAKER_01]: So the the contrology my friend hasn't Hawaii and the frame is great.
- 15:02[SPEAKER_01]: Nothing goes on there.
- 15:03[SPEAKER_01]: It doesn't even rust, but the springs will you have to clean the springs, right?
- 15:06[SPEAKER_01]: So that's right.
- 15:07[SPEAKER_01]: The thing that about
- 15:09[SPEAKER_00]: I forgot about that.
- 15:10[SPEAKER_00]: It's exactly the same like environment with humidity.
- 15:13[SPEAKER_01]: So I worry more about humidity anywhere.
- 15:15[SPEAKER_01]: And then when it comes to just like the hotness, I mean, obviously it's going to pin like are you going to want to lay on a hot reformer bed because it's going to
- 15:26[SPEAKER_01]: Like like like sitting on your car when the car is a thing.
- 15:29[SPEAKER_00]: You can actually regulate the temperature inside your garage.
- 15:32[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, if you can.
- 15:32[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, then I would do that.
- 15:33[SPEAKER_00]: No, in Cambodia, we have these wall units for like air conditioning.
- 15:38[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I love this idea.
- 15:40[SPEAKER_01]: We're helping you out Brenda.
- 15:42[SPEAKER_01]: So get a wall unit and then I probably had their call to they're called them.
- 15:46[SPEAKER_00]: There's a specific term for them.
- 15:48[SPEAKER_00]: What are they called?
- 15:50[SPEAKER_00]: They're not a window unit.
- 15:51[SPEAKER_00]: They're a wall unit.
- 15:55[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, they call it a split.
- 15:56[SPEAKER_00]: Many split.
- 15:58[SPEAKER_00]: Many split.
- 15:59[SPEAKER_00]: So that way what it does is it actually takes the big air conditioning part of it that like you know is loud and noisy and it actually is outside.
- 16:07[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but then the inside is just a little wall.
- 16:10[SPEAKER_01]: They're amazing.
- 16:11[SPEAKER_01]: They're so quiet.
- 16:12[SPEAKER_01]: The other thing I would just say is like, I've never experienced this thing.
- 16:16[SPEAKER_01]: I've never had a purchase one of my life, but a dehumidifier is something you can also purchase.
- 16:21[SPEAKER_01]: I saw one in Brad's uncle's basement.
- 16:24[SPEAKER_01]: I was like, what is this thing?
- 16:25[SPEAKER_01]: He's a dehumidifier.
- 16:26[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, I only know about humidifiers.
- 16:28[SPEAKER_01]: Clearly, that's where I lived in the world.
- 16:30[SPEAKER_01]: So you can have a dehumidifier and then that would make your equipment last a long time as well.
- 16:34[SPEAKER_00]: That's true.
- 16:35[SPEAKER_01]: And just something to note that like nogahide and your leather straps, you know, those things can be affected by the weather.
- 16:42[SPEAKER_01]: So if again, it's hot, cold, like you're just going to want to find a way to stabilize the environment a little bit so that at how you can have it for years, because that's what all I want to make sure like we didn't leave my reform around the heat.
- 16:54[SPEAKER_01]: I think my extra reform was out in the garage for like in the shed for like a year, but it was in a box.
- 16:59[SPEAKER_01]: protect it and then we're like, we ought to get that in.
- 17:01[SPEAKER_01]: That's probably not so great for it.
- 17:02[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, just because then the knife high will eventually become real.
- 17:05[SPEAKER_01]: I think the leather straps would also become the leather to dry out as well because like they stay healthy because of the oils of the skin.
- 17:12[SPEAKER_00]: So anyway, I just also found out that a mini split is it's a called a mini split because it's heating and cooling.
- 17:18[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, well, there you go.
- 17:19[SPEAKER_01]: Brenda, show us the pictures of your garage with your new reformer in it.
- 17:23[SPEAKER_00]: You're amazing.
- 17:23[SPEAKER_01]: You guys, if you want to ask us any questions, they don't have to be replies.
- 17:26[SPEAKER_01]: They can be about anything.
- 17:28[SPEAKER_01]: You'll, uh, you just have to go to be at pod.com's last question.
- 17:31[SPEAKER_01]: You can also send us your wins.
- 17:32[SPEAKER_01]: We can celebrate you and you can hear about your wins on a day that you need to because they always happen to land on the day you're like, my life isn't working in the new hero when you had and you're like, oh my God, it was.
- 17:41[SPEAKER_01]: I just forgot.
- 17:42[SPEAKER_00]: Stick around, we'll be right back.
- 17:44[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, right, welcome back.
- 17:45[SPEAKER_00]: Let's talk about Wendy Close.
- 17:47[SPEAKER_00]: Wendy is the founder at CEO of Goals Two Life, a personal development platform designed to help individuals create and achieve meaningful goals through detailed planning and execution.
- 17:58[SPEAKER_00]: It's quite a comprehensive platform.
- 17:59[SPEAKER_00]: It's actually kind of amazing.
- 18:01[SPEAKER_00]: After twenty seven years in the B to C industry, she pivoted into the tech world to build a purpose-driven SaaS platform aimed at transforming how people bring their aspirations to life.
- 18:12[SPEAKER_00]: SaaS stands for software as a service.
- 18:15[SPEAKER_00]: So the like a SaaS platform would be like Gmail or
- 18:21[SPEAKER_00]: Google Calendar.
- 18:21[SPEAKER_00]: That's a SaaS platform.
- 18:23[SPEAKER_00]: In this case, she's making a tool that is software that will help you bring your aspirations to life, for real.
- 18:30[SPEAKER_00]: Known for her resourcefulness and her get a ton attitude, Wendy now helps ground people break through burnout and overwhelm by aligning their goals with their values.
- 18:40[SPEAKER_00]: And I think for her that was legit because she was like doing
- 18:45[SPEAKER_00]: She and her husband had started up business that could she do it?
- 18:49[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 18:49[SPEAKER_00]: Was she really good at it?
- 18:50[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 18:51[SPEAKER_00]: Did it light her fire?
- 18:53[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 18:53[SPEAKER_00]: Should she have been doing it?
- 18:55[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 18:55[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 18:56[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 18:56[SPEAKER_00]: But she did it for decades.
- 18:59[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 18:59[SPEAKER_00]: And after all that time, and they really did well, she still was like, I kind of don't like what I'm doing.
- 19:05[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 19:06[SPEAKER_00]: And so that's what caused the shift to start this platform, you know, effectively starting a second career after her
- 19:15[SPEAKER_00]: Kids have flown the coop.
- 19:17[SPEAKER_00]: They're empty nesters now.
- 19:18[SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, she's, she's definitely tackling a huge project.
- 19:23[SPEAKER_01]: Bird launcher.
- 19:24[SPEAKER_00]: She's a bird launcher.
- 19:25[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 19:27[SPEAKER_01]: I like, I know I saw on the podcast, if not, I said it her face.
- 19:31[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like immensely impressed that she has taken on this.
- 19:35[SPEAKER_01]: project because like it's so like I had no idea what starting OPC like how much effort it is to have a platform like OPC like it is the amount of work we've to do on a daily basis for OPC is it's not a people who work on that site to keep every so like when she let's talk about she's like oh my god that is the biggest
- 19:57[SPEAKER_01]: object in the world like I was just like sitting there from the experience of it and she doesn't even see it as I mean like of course there's difficult times there's hard days but she always is like
- 20:11[SPEAKER_01]: excited for the challenge and like she takes it in and then she figures out who she has to talk to to make it happen.
- 20:18[SPEAKER_01]: And so anyways, one thing she said that I love and I think it is why she can do what she's doing and take on this mountain of an amazing business is when the vision is clear, you become it.
- 20:29[SPEAKER_01]: So she is like, even though the project is still being built out and it works.
- 20:34[SPEAKER_01]: She's tons of clients and tons of customers and tons of companies that work with it, but it was something that she's continuing to build and perfect and do.
- 20:41[SPEAKER_01]: She isn't waiting for it to be ready to go out there and talk about it.
- 20:44[SPEAKER_01]: She's talking about it.
- 20:46[SPEAKER_00]: because she's been talking about it.
- 20:48[SPEAKER_01]: She's been, oh yeah.
- 20:50[SPEAKER_00]: You know, before it was even ready to go, she understood what she was building, who it was gonna help and was out there sharing it with the world.
- 20:58[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, if you haven't listened to the episode, you have to because it's truly a beat till you see it.
- 21:02[SPEAKER_01]: Like it is, she is not waiting for the project to be ready for someone to deem the project ready for, and it like that she's like, I'm gonna go out there.
- 21:09[SPEAKER_01]: I'm gonna talk about it and the questions I get and the things people need are gonna help me make it even better.
- 21:15[SPEAKER_01]: And that's what we are always trying to tell people to do inside of agency as well.
- 21:19[SPEAKER_01]: She said, when you believe what you're doing, it becomes easy to show up and say, this is who I am.
- 21:25[SPEAKER_01]: And this is what I'm doing.
- 21:25[SPEAKER_01]: The vision is so strong.
- 21:26[SPEAKER_01]: You live it.
- 21:27[SPEAKER_01]: And I think like, a lot of us are sitting in the place where she was before in that B to C thing.
- 21:34[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe you're not in B to C, but like, wish you good at it.
- 21:36[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, she do it.
- 21:38[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, it didn't light her up.
- 21:40[SPEAKER_01]: And so I think a lot of people
- 21:43[SPEAKER_01]: are struggling with, like, preaching out loud and boasting about the thing they're doing because it's not the thing they really want to be doing.
- 21:51[SPEAKER_01]: So they're not as excited.
- 21:53[SPEAKER_01]: She is so excited about this.
- 21:55[SPEAKER_01]: Every time I talk to her, I'm like excited about what I do.
- 21:57[SPEAKER_01]: Like, somehow, like, remind me, this is why I do what I do.
- 21:59[SPEAKER_00]: She lights everybody on fire.
- 22:01[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 22:02[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I bet you two that all the things that she learned with her first business on
- 22:09[SPEAKER_00]: She managed a team, she worked with clients, she understood how to do every aspect of that business.
- 22:16[SPEAKER_00]: There's like a direct translation for what she's doing now, even though it's a different project than a different...
- 22:23[SPEAKER_00]: product in a different goal, the skills she learned from the first one are absolutely setting her up to excel at this in what so much faster.
- 22:34[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so much faster.
- 22:35[SPEAKER_01]: Well, and also like every single, even if the thing you want to do is something you were never trained to do, every skill that you've acquired along your journey is transferable.
- 22:44[SPEAKER_00]: It's a story of my life.
- 22:45[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's really all so transferable and
- 22:49[SPEAKER_01]: They're most of the jobs that I, well, the job that I currently have, they're like, not like a degree in it.
- 22:54[SPEAKER_01]: So like, I think like, we're all like, where's the checklist to go check?
- 22:59[SPEAKER_01]: There isn't one.
- 23:00[SPEAKER_01]: So get your vision clear and then talk about it.
- 23:04[SPEAKER_01]: Don't be afraid to talk about it because just because people question it or and they might not be as excited as you.
- 23:10[SPEAKER_01]: Their questions help you deliver what you do better.
- 23:13[SPEAKER_01]: You know, when we first heard about OPC versus how we talk about it now, very different based on the questions we got from the way we talked about it.
- 23:21[SPEAKER_01]: You know, like so.
- 23:22[SPEAKER_00]: Last, that's six.
- 23:24[SPEAKER_00]: We even said that.
- 23:24[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 23:25[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sure it was like new class on Tuesday.
- 23:28[SPEAKER_00]: I really love what she was talking about.
- 23:31[SPEAKER_00]: Clarity and resourcefulness and her reminder about it, specifically around asking for help.
- 23:37[SPEAKER_00]: Right, she has no qualms to reach out to people and ask for help.
- 23:41[SPEAKER_00]: She is very excited about what it is that she's doing.
- 23:46[SPEAKER_00]: And because she knows what she's building, it gives her enthusiasm, right, and courage.
- 23:52[SPEAKER_00]: And then when she goes and she asks someone for help, even if they say no, it doesn't matter.
- 23:57[SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't deflate her enthusiasm.
- 23:59[SPEAKER_00]: But because she has that, she can ask for help in a way that
- 24:05[SPEAKER_00]: is compelling.
- 24:06[SPEAKER_00]: People actually want to help her.
- 24:09[SPEAKER_00]: She said every single day, I'm like, I don't know how to do the thing that I'm going to do today.
- 24:14[SPEAKER_00]: But what do I want to do?
- 24:16[SPEAKER_00]: I want to impact lives.
- 24:18[SPEAKER_00]: So she is a bigger goal.
- 24:19[SPEAKER_00]: Like, for example, the conversation you were having was about going live on Instagram.
- 24:23[SPEAKER_00]: She's like, I'm not a techie, you know, social media user.
- 24:27[SPEAKER_00]: Um, but I'm willing to learn this thing, even if I fail at it, if I fall flat on my face, because if I can go live with someone today and, you know, it's got a further my actual goal, which is impacting people's lives.
- 24:40[SPEAKER_00]: But she said she just, she encourages everyone to just be learned to be as resourceful as you can, right?
- 24:47[SPEAKER_00]: And she said, if you're honest and transparent about where you are and what you're trying to do, others will help you do it.
- 24:56[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they will, because they get excited, because you're excited.
- 25:00[SPEAKER_01]: People want to be part of the party.
- 25:01[SPEAKER_01]: People want to be part of the, that is how for better or worse, people get involved in organizations like, you know, they want it.
- 25:09[SPEAKER_01]: I read the book careless, careless people about Facebook.
- 25:13[SPEAKER_01]: And oh, guys, it's a book where a three.
- 25:16[SPEAKER_01]: And if I could get her on, I would, but she's
- 25:19[SPEAKER_01]: Not doing any touring right now, but it's she talks about why she got involved with Facebook and why she was pushing for it to be around the world because she want she wanted a part of the vision of connecting people and helping people have all these and I know that's like the worst example, but also like
- 25:36[SPEAKER_01]: getting so excited about your thing that people get excited to be part of your life because they'll want to connect with the right people to whether or not they can help you like oh I know so and so and then they're so excited about what you're doing when they talk to their friend there's a trust transference and all of a sudden you have the connections you need you know so no one gets to get their goals all done by themselves it just doesn't happen that way
- 25:58[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and what's the, what?
- 26:00[SPEAKER_01]: You want to go fast, go alone, if you want to go far, go together.
- 26:03[SPEAKER_00]: Well, yes, very enthusiasticly delivered there.
- 26:07[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 26:09[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, you mean that old thing?
- 26:11[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 26:11[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, yes.
- 26:14[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, yeah.
- 26:18[SPEAKER_00]: That's hilarious.
- 26:19[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
- 26:19[SPEAKER_00]: Well, if you are looking for some beat action items stick around, because we're gonna dig into those.
- 26:25[SPEAKER_00]: When we come back, okay.
- 26:27[SPEAKER_00]: Finally, let's dig into those beat action items that we had with our conversation with Wendy.
- 26:32[SPEAKER_00]: Close.
- 26:33[SPEAKER_00]: What?
- 26:34[SPEAKER_00]: Bold, executable, intrinsic, or targeted action items.
- 26:38[SPEAKER_00]: Can we take away from your combo?
- 26:40[SPEAKER_00]: I'm gonna go first, because she actually went down all four, like right away, which is pretty awesome.
- 26:47[SPEAKER_01]: Whenever anyone does that, I'm like, oh, you took the assignment to the next level.
- 26:52[SPEAKER_00]: She said, hey, here's what's bold.
- 26:54[SPEAKER_00]: Own your next level identity.
- 26:56[SPEAKER_00]: Right?
- 26:56[SPEAKER_00]: She encourages you to ask, what would my future self do right now today in this instant?
- 27:03[SPEAKER_00]: And then take that action from your future you.
- 27:08[SPEAKER_00]: Right?
- 27:08[SPEAKER_00]: And she said, that's super bold.
- 27:10[SPEAKER_00]: You know, like, know where you're going, know what you're trying to do.
- 27:13[SPEAKER_00]: And then, you know, if you're facing the tough decision, would you, would you, would you future self make decision?
- 27:19[SPEAKER_00]: A or decision B, right?
- 27:21[SPEAKER_00]: And then she said executable, take small intentional steps every single day, small intentional steps, right?
- 27:28[SPEAKER_00]: Breaking down big goals into micro movements.
- 27:30[SPEAKER_00]: And then ask what's one step that I can take today right now.
- 27:33[SPEAKER_00]: And then go do that step.
- 27:35[SPEAKER_00]: In fact, that's like half of what
- 27:39[SPEAKER_00]: Goals to life is is literally the execution element of it because what they help you do is map out your goals and figure out how to do them Yeah, actually out of bring them to life right and so that's where the name came from
- 27:53[SPEAKER_00]: Goals to life.
- 27:54[SPEAKER_00]: That's what the name came from.
- 27:55[SPEAKER_00]: Intrinsic, align your goals with your purpose.
- 27:59[SPEAKER_00]: Align your goals with purpose.
- 28:00[SPEAKER_00]: She said, what?
- 28:01[SPEAKER_00]: Ask yourself, why does this even matter to me?
- 28:04[SPEAKER_00]: Like, if you've a goal of, let's say, doing a five-k race, you know, why does this matter to you?
- 28:13[SPEAKER_00]: Why?
- 28:14[SPEAKER_00]: You know, do the seven layers of why?
- 28:15[SPEAKER_00]: You know, what is it that you're actually trying to do here?
- 28:18[SPEAKER_00]: And then when your goals are tied to your values,
- 28:22[SPEAKER_00]: your commitment will deepen so you need to understand what your values are and then we need to find goals that are going to tie it all together.
- 28:29[SPEAKER_00]: So intrinsic align your goals with your purpose targeted set clear measurable milestones replace vague hopes with tangible outcomes
- 28:39[SPEAKER_00]: Ask yourself, how will I measure the progress?
- 28:41[SPEAKER_00]: We would suggest deadlines.
- 28:44[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 28:45[SPEAKER_00]: Deadlines.
- 28:45[SPEAKER_00]: Actually, give yourself, by this time, I will do this thing.
- 28:49[SPEAKER_00]: You know, or by this time, I will, I will have this finished or this piece piece of it accomplished.
- 28:54[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 28:54[SPEAKER_00]: I love it.
- 28:55[SPEAKER_00]: It gives you targets.
- 28:56[SPEAKER_01]: I just talked to the agency members about this.
- 28:58[SPEAKER_01]: I said, if, like, you know, we're halfway through the year, right?
- 29:01[SPEAKER_01]: And it's like, if you reflect on your goals, you haunted have done this year and what you want to have done by now.
- 29:05[SPEAKER_01]: And you're like, oh, my God, I didn't hit any of them.
- 29:07[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, well, it's not beat yourself up.
- 29:09[SPEAKER_01]: It's ask yourself very clearly, like, why have an item this?
- 29:12[SPEAKER_01]: What has been in the way?
- 29:14[SPEAKER_01]: Is this actually something I still want to do?
- 29:16[SPEAKER_01]: Can I actually do it?
- 29:17[SPEAKER_01]: And then set new measurable goals, set new milestones, and make it happen.
- 29:21[SPEAKER_01]: And you know, so I believe in those, I love a deadline.
- 29:25[SPEAKER_00]: Love a deadline.
- 29:26[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, what about you?
- 29:27[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 29:28[SPEAKER_01]: So she said, and this goes back to what I was just saying.
- 29:31[SPEAKER_01]: So it just transcends if something's a priority if it's a goal and needs me on your calendar.
- 29:35[SPEAKER_01]: And that's where a lot of people make mistakes.
- 29:37[SPEAKER_01]: They're like, oh, I'm going to do this thing, but they don't even set it as time.
- 29:39[SPEAKER_01]: Like in my calendar, if you look at my calendar, they'll say, right, this thing do this thing call this person.
- 29:46[SPEAKER_01]: It is in my calendar.
- 29:47[SPEAKER_01]: So there's not like, oh, here's my three things I want to get done today.
- 29:49[SPEAKER_01]: And then I have a wide open day.
- 29:51[SPEAKER_01]: No, every single work day is like, it's full because I have now, of course, I can move things if something comes up or whatever, but then it gets moved because when your calendar, you'll reschedule it.
- 30:02[SPEAKER_01]: So that's really important.
- 30:04[SPEAKER_01]: She said, if it's not in your calendar, it's not a priority.
- 30:06[SPEAKER_01]: And she did mention time blocking.
- 30:07[SPEAKER_01]: I'm a big fan of time blocking.
- 30:08[SPEAKER_01]: I actually talk a lot about how we teach agency members had a time block so that they actually move the needle forward in their business.
- 30:17[SPEAKER_01]: She also said, this is really important.
- 30:19[SPEAKER_01]: She said, we should talk about her burnout.
- 30:22[SPEAKER_01]: She said, no amount of movement, water, nutrition, or meditation can make up for the lack of sleep.
