- 0:25Josh is still busy giving birth. He's yeah, he's he's pushing
- 0:31pee. You're pushing.

- 1:04stars if you like what you hear. Let us begin with our Week 23
- 1:09choices. Meanwhile, no.
- 1:12Wow, that was like a, like a it's a.
- 1:13Delicious only because we're used to like straight W, you
- 1:16know what I mean? When we went 2 for three this
- 1:19week. Yeah, yeah, it's not bad.
- 1:21It's we're usually better, but I feel like our wins were like
- 1:25good wins. Yeah, You know what I mean?
- 1:26Really good wins. So Nick Smaltz, 0 points, huge L
- 1:32Wow. Josh is relentless.
- 1:35Goodness, Yeah. So that's a solid loss there.
- 1:38But Jason Zucker, 2 assists, one of those is a power play point.
- 1:42That's a win. Kyle Palmieri, two goals, one
- 1:45assist, three points. That's another win.
- 1:47So that is quite good. This brings our season record to
- 1:5237 and 17 again, doubling our losses with wins.
- 1:58Very, very nice to see. So good average to have.
- 2:01Very good average to have a few four OK, so just to you know.
- 2:05Recovery Week 20. Five week 25 yes so this is the
- 2:09last week of the season, meaning it goes from April 7th to the.
- 2:1517th like 10 days. Yeah, so starts on April 7th,
- 2:18which is a Monday and ends the Thursday the 17th.
- 2:21Very difficult. This week we've spoken about
- 2:23this extensively. A lot of players like on teams
- 2:28they like, especially like teams that are shoe Inns, you know,
- 2:30sometimes they end up benching their top guys and this is not,
- 2:32which was why we recommend to end your fantasy playoffs Week
- 2:3624. Nevertheless, of course, we know
- 2:38a lot of you play in leagues like this, just like Kevin and I
- 2:41are in a league where there's no playoffs, but it goes to the end
- 2:43of Week 25. So you still have to plan.
- 2:45But yeah, there are most teams play five games, some play 6.
- 2:49So we're going to focus on picking players from those and
- 2:52there's players to avoid. Those are the guys who play for
- 2:56four games this week, so before game teams are Colorado, St.
- 3:01Louis, Minnesota, Pittsburgh and Boston.
- 3:04Yeah. So you can look at cutting
- 3:06players from those teams, Yeah. If they're, you know, fringe on
- 3:08your roster or we're not really recommend picking up anybody
- 3:11from those teams since you can pick up guys that play six games
- 3:14instead of four, Yeah. Like you're not dropping.
- 3:17Right. Yeah.
- 3:18That's not happening unless he's like truly benched in.
- 3:20They're shutting down, but whenever you still have like a
- 3:22like in on your team or yeah, or you know, I don't know who like
- 3:27I'm the Boston guys like Lynn home, right, like a geeky or
- 3:30something. I think St.
- 3:31Louis is like a a really important one today.
- 3:33Focus on here briefly because like, they're fighting for a
- 3:35playoff spot so they need to go all out in these games.
- 3:37Out of all the four-game teams, that's the team that I probably
- 3:40be the most likely to keep my guys on just because you know,
- 3:42those four games may be very valuable since they're really
- 3:44fighting for the. Playoffs.
- 3:45Yeah, exactly. All right, so busy nights for
- 3:49the first week Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and then the
- 3:52next week would be Tuesday, Thursday.
- 3:53Pretty standard. So, you know, try to play
- 3:55accordingly if possible. And uh, yeah.
- 3:59So now we're going to go over guys who are, you know, should
- 4:02be added and we're going to focus, as mentioned, on these
- 4:05guys who play six games this week.
- 4:07So the criteria we're doing less than 50% owned and we switch
- 4:11back to 50 because, you know, take San Jose, who plays six
- 4:14games. They had a really bad week 22 to
- 4:1624 playoff schedule. So, you know, guys on that team
- 4:20you may be able to pick up. So we're going to start with
- 4:22Edmonton. You got Jeff Skinner line 3
- 4:24power play one. He's a good pick up, but if
- 4:27Mcdavid's back then yeah, probably not worth.
- 4:29It, I mean, he's been better as of late, which you know with
- 4:32Jeff Skinner, he hasn't been good for a long time.
- 4:34So whenever he's in a hot streak, maybe you could look at
- 4:36picking him up. He's obviously not my favorite
- 4:39option, but you wanted to list some names on all these six game
- 4:41teams so that you at least have options whether depending on how
- 4:45shallow or deep your league is. But he's on PP1 for the moment.
- 4:48But with Mike David coming back in the near, near future, he's
- 4:51getting bumped off immediately. So that definitely hinders his
- 4:54value. He's going to be playing with
- 4:55less good teammates. Yeah, he's a name to consider.
- 4:58Yeah, exactly. It's really the McDavid.
- 5:00If he's not there, then maybe. If he is there, forget it.
- 5:03Like, no way. All these other names I think
- 5:06I'm going to rather have over your scanner, but just thought
- 5:08we throw them out there. Same here.
- 5:10OK, then Buffalo very. Exciting, yeah, This has a great
- 5:14lineup of players. Ryan McLeod, Jacqueline J
- 5:17Peterka, he's on the upper end, he's like at around 50%.
- 5:21So but still, if he's available, great, great option.
- 5:24And Jason Zucker, of these guys, I think is the most proven.
- 5:27Asset yeah, he'll give you some shots and points.
- 5:29Ryan McLeod has been on the heater though, especially if you
- 5:32have a league that plays face off wins and short handed
- 5:34points. He's been extremely clutch in
- 5:36both of those categories recently.
- 5:38Jack Quinn has been feeding off of the success of that line and
- 5:42Jason Zucker, you know he's kind of been way more inconsistent
- 5:45ever since he started. He missed like 2 weeks near the
- 5:48end of the regular season in fantasy, but now he's slotting
- 5:51in line 3. But as long as on PU one, he'll
- 5:54still be valuable because he can always do damage on the power
- 5:56play. But I I like, I like Peterkin
- 5:59McLeod the most out of these guys.
- 6:00Yeah, I agree. Although Quinn, I mean, Quinn's
- 6:03very straight people. When he's hot, he's hot.
- 6:05Not physically, just to make sure.
- 6:07Yeah, our listeners don't. Previous episode you know that
- 6:10we go Little Mix up with. Taylor Hall.
- 6:11But yeah, these are these are really fun, fun options.
- 6:16Next I got San Jose. We have William Eckland and
- 6:19Tyler Toffoli. So Eckland line 2 power play one
- 6:23to fully line one power play one.
- 6:24Nevertheless, I think I like Echlin better.
- 6:27More reliable. Points to fully will shoot more,
- 6:29but equal will get more points and I don't think the shooting
- 6:31discrepancy is big enough to value to fully over Echlin.
- 6:35But I think both are, especially if you need shots, both are
- 6:37going to be very valuable and I like a lot for this upcoming
- 6:41week. If he's on waivers, I would
- 6:44really like to pick him up. One of those things are not
- 6:46really fighting for a playoff spot of.
- 6:47Course, but they're just fun and young.
- 6:49Exactly. They wanna like these type of
- 6:51teams that are close to the bottom who have young players
- 6:54who they want to develop. They're not going to bench them
- 6:57for any reason. So yeah, I, I really, really
- 7:00like him. Next, Carolina Taylor Hall,
- 7:03who's been really great. Yeah, he's been read.
- 7:05Previous episode with the Would You rathers, he was somehow
- 7:10probably the biggest honor of his career since the Hart Trophy
- 7:12compared to the great Ryan Donato, who has a song based on
- 7:18his incredible performance this year.
- 7:20But yeah, Taylor Hall on that power play one, that's really
- 7:24where he's been shining. He's been, I mean as we speak,
- 7:27he has like 5 power play points in consecutive games.
- 7:30Wait, no, not 5 power play points in each game
- 7:33consecutively, but he has A1 power play point in five
- 7:36consecutive. Yeah, that's a big difference.
- 7:39But he's just been on fire over point game over the last month,
- 7:42shooting at almost 3 point shots per game.
- 7:44He's playing NHL 25 on rookie mode.
- 7:46Yeah. What's happening?
- 7:47Yeah, No. He's a league winner for the
- 7:49playoffs this year. So if he's on your roster, I
- 7:51mean, he's gonna be obviously more valuable and deeper leagues
- 7:54where, you know, you're really testing the depth of your
- 7:56roster. But I like him a lot for this
- 7:59gambling for Carolina. Yeah, very exciting.
- 8:01Tampa Bay, Anthony Cirelli, Line 2 power play two.
- 8:05Yeah, I like it, I do. Obviously, you know the big
- 8:08thing with Tampas that they've got a stud power play, but.
- 8:12They can get some P1 looks, but he still has some really solid
- 8:15linemates on that second line with Hagel so.
- 8:18Yeah, Hagel and Paul. Yeah, so I I think he's always
- 8:21consistent. He'll get you like a .7 points
- 8:22per game time about six games this week.
- 8:25You kind of want to exposure to one of the best teams still
- 8:27fighting for that first seed, the name especially as a pure
- 8:30seed that I really like this. Is one of those like if you're
- 8:32in a faceoff leagues? That's an owner.
- 8:34He's probably already Ross. Yeah.
- 8:35Probably, but like I wouldn't pick him up.
- 8:37This is like a points segment. I wouldn't pick him up really
- 8:39for a points league. I like some of the names we
- 8:41mentioned previously. Better I would pick him up for
- 8:43points, just depends how shallow.
- 8:44I'm just saying like I like Ryan McLeod, William McClain, Taylor.
- 8:48Hall better, Yeah, they're more points.
- 8:50I would be happy with his points production in a bangers.
- 8:53League back categories were absolutely.
- 8:55Sorely shines in his next Toronto Jake.
- 8:59OK, Bobby McMahon. 1st 1st defenseman we're mentioning I
- 9:03mean he's averaging around .6 points per game, which is for
- 9:05defenseman is really good and he's also targeting, you know
- 9:08the back categories, which is always nice especially like
- 9:11especially in category leagues. But even in points leagues,
- 9:13you'll get some bonus for that. And Bobby McCann, I mean, he's
- 9:17Gary McMahon player. Put some respect on.
- 9:21So I don't know if they're like, OK, these guys, I guess McCabe
- 9:25has been pretty solid, which is which is a nice surprise change
- 9:27of pace for him offensively. Just wanted to add some targets
- 9:31that are defensive as well. Yeah, this is good.
- 9:33But yeah, I mean, I don't love it.
- 9:37But hey, if you could keep up the points production, that's
- 9:39pretty great. Then New York Rangers, Alexi
- 9:43Lafreniere and Keandre Miller. See, I just feel a little bit
- 9:47better about Keandre Miller as far as point production goes
- 9:50than McCabe. I don't know.
- 9:52What do you think a little bit more?
- 9:54Reliable. They're both kind of doing the
- 9:55same thing right now. Yeah, but I think I'd bet more
- 9:57on Miller because the Rangers are still fighting for a playoff
- 10:00spot. And, I mean, I think he's gonna
- 10:03get more ice time in general. Yeah, since he's lying, I wanna
- 10:06make his line 2 laugh. Also has been.
- 10:10I mean, he's hovering around that 50% mark.
- 10:14She's been a point breaking player I think for the last
- 10:16month. So yeah, it was pretty crazy.
- 10:18I feel like that's really under the radar.
- 10:19But I mean the ranges are all systems go right now trying to
- 10:21make the playoffs. Yeah, which is every time you
- 10:24say it. Surprises me, I know.
- 10:26Right. Truly not Detroit Red Wings.
- 10:29Marco Casper the friendly ghost. Loved him this whole year.
- 10:33I yeah, I mean, at this point, the Red Wings are still in the
- 10:37mix, so they're trying to compete.
- 10:40He's a big part of their team and you know, they they need to
- 10:44have him firing on all cylinders if they wanna chance.
- 10:47It doesn't look like they're going to make it.
- 10:48They seem like no they're. Out of it.
- 10:50It's close enough. Like they're still good try.
- 10:52Obviously they're not punting completely, but they they, they
- 10:55lost their. Chance.
- 10:56But I do like him with six games.
- 10:57Yeah, I like him a lot. He's definitely slowed down from
- 11:00the really hot streak he had in the last month, let's say.
- 11:03But I think he's still valuable in points leagues because his
- 11:06points are up there. He's really widely available and
- 11:08he hits you, you know, he gets you to a category coverage too,
- 11:11like not the most shots, but he's giving you face off wins
- 11:14and hits as well. Yep, which is just nice to have
- 11:16a on a like, you know, in a deep roster.
- 11:20Yeah, Next, the Anaheim Mighty Ducks.
- 11:23I think besides Buffalo is my second favorite team.
- 11:25Even be my favorite because I had so many of these guys.
- 11:28I was still in the playoffs while and I loved it so much.
- 11:32I mean the names to mention it's Mctavish, Leo Carlson, Jackson,
- 11:37Lacombe. 4 Jackson Lookout. Well, I just wanted.
- 11:40To there's no Oh yeah, I. Wanted to make sure it's yeah,
- 11:43because you know, I don't know people know this, but he used to
- 11:45be a forward. Jackson Lacombe used to be a
- 11:49forward, and now he's actually playing defenseman and he's
- 11:51lined 1P1 for the Anaheim Ducks. So you've never heard of him
- 11:54before. This is a good time to pick him
- 11:56up. He's over point per game I think
- 11:57with the last month, which is, yeah, I mean not, not often that
- 12:02a guy used to be a forward in terms of defence.
- 12:03Because we need to hire a data analyst to see if Gabe Vilardi
- 12:06or Jackson Lacombe's name has been mentioned more.
- 12:08This. I think Vilardi just has the
- 12:10longevity. Yeah, that's true.
- 12:12He's been with us since the beginning.
- 12:13But Lacombe, I mean listen happily, not talk about this
- 12:16guy. Velardi walked so look home
- 12:18could. Run exactly.
- 12:20Which I feel like has never been said before in a sentence by
- 12:23anybody else. And yeah, and Trevor.
- 12:26Trevor is also. Putting his name out there, he's
- 12:28actually has been on the heater recently, but I prefer Mctavish,
- 12:31Carlton and Lacoma over him. Yeah, I think those guys are
- 12:33already sold in their own right and I think they'll be really
- 12:35great fantasy honest assets next year and they'll finish the year
- 12:38strong because Anaheim is just fun to watch this.
- 12:40Is A1A1B situation for what it's worth.
- 12:42Mcdavitt, Carlson, our Power Play 2 Zebras and Lacombe.
- 12:46Is, yeah, but they're PPS are actually.
- 12:48Also, power play too. They're all on power play too,
- 12:50but this is the better power. Play exactly.
- 12:53So yeah, I love these guys. I find it so fun.
- 12:56Next, Columbus Blue Jackets. Boone Jenner.
- 12:59Sean Monahan. These are must.
- 13:01Rosters. Must rosters.
- 13:03Absolutely. I mean, Boone is Boone.
- 13:06Spoiler alert, may also be mentioned in our Bangor section
- 13:08because I feel like he just deserves it.
- 13:10That's like the equivalent of Morris Richard getting three
- 13:12stars in the single game you mentioned on both.
- 13:14Yeah, because he's just been so great.
- 13:16And Sean Monahan has also. Found he came back just in time
- 13:20to face me in the playoffs and put four points on my head so.
- 13:23There you go. We he heard us talking about
- 13:27maybe taking over and he was like, no, that can't.
- 13:28Be Columbus is just, you know, the score goal would ease.
- 13:31It's actually crazy. I do not want to face them in
- 13:35fantasy because it's like any night there guys can just get
- 13:37like four or five points. It's actually nuts.
- 13:39Yeah, I really can't wait for these guys in the draft next
- 13:43year. It's gonna be very exciting.
- 13:44I. Can't wait to see where to.
- 13:45Go I know that's yeah. Calgary Flames pretty much one
- 13:49guy Matthew Coronado Line 2 power play one been very good.
- 13:52Yeah, he'll get you some shots and he's exposed to that first
- 13:55power play, which has been solid.
- 13:56He's been also like on a goal streak this last month in March.
- 14:00He's also, he scored so many. So if he's available, I mean,
- 14:03he's only 8% Ross that I believe.
- 14:05So yeah, he's a guy that you know, is gonna have six games
- 14:08from the right wing position, mostly goals and shots.
- 14:12Yep. Next Los Angeles Kings we have
- 14:15Trevor Moore and Warren Fogel, otherwise known as Mclovin.
- 14:19I hope everybody gets that because I find it very funny and
- 14:22that's what matters. Go on, John.
- 14:28John would be laughing. Would be laughing.
- 14:31Yeah. Also both line 3 power play, 2IN
- 14:34theory, nothing to write home about.
- 14:36But this LA team is so deep and their scoring is quite sporadic,
- 14:39but they're they've probably got a decent point.
- 14:42Share these last month at .8 points per game, which honestly
- 14:44is very valuable. They're all they're both
- 14:46shooting at like, you know, over over A2 shots per game pace,
- 14:50closer to three actually. Yeah.
- 14:52And LA is kind of very generous where 3 lines like these guys
- 14:56will get about 15 minutes of ice time, which is not a sure thing
- 14:59for a lot of the third lines on teams.
- 15:01Yeah. So not a lot of teams can do.
- 15:03That exactly. So I like them a lot.
- 15:05They're kind of like I feel like a reliable streaming options.
- 15:07Yeah, like don't be scared away from them being line.
- 15:09Three. Yeah, exactly.
- 15:10And I feel like compared to some of the other guys we mentioned,
- 15:13they're more likely to be under the radar.
- 15:15Yeah, absolutely. Wants the roster line.
- 15:16Three, they're flashing names, I feel.
- 15:18Like exactly, exactly. And but yeah, I don't see them
- 15:21being benched by any means. Like, maybe if anything, if LA
- 15:24is comfortably in the playoff position, they'll be able to get
- 15:29a higher, you know, the higher deployment, more deployment on
- 15:33LA for this week, which I think would be nice.
- 15:35Last but not least, the New York Islanders Anders Lee and Tony
- 15:41D'Angelo love both these guys, especially because, similarly to
- 15:45Detroit, they're in that kind of like not giving up.
- 15:47Yet, But yeah, long shot from the playoffs, not going to make
- 15:49it, but they're trying really hard.
- 15:50Yeah, and Lee's been amazing all season.
- 15:54D'Angelo has been an offensive stud.
- 15:55For Lee, kind of slowed down after he got demoted to the line
- 15:582. Like he still had his games but
- 15:59definitely less consistent, but he just recently got bumped up
- 16:03back to line 1 which is really good for his value and D'Angelo
- 16:07is keeping that P1 spot. So that's giving him value
- 16:10because he's honestly one of the more higher performing power
- 16:12play defensemen over the last couple of weeks.
- 16:14Yeah, I think, I think I predicted that they're gonna
- 16:18ride both defensemen on this power.
- 16:19Play, I can't see why next year they wouldn't.
- 16:22So I mean like you wouldn't be Dobson again.
- 16:24So I don't know why they're sticking with DeAngelo right
- 16:26now, but. You don't think they're going to
- 16:28do? Defensive.
- 16:29No. Anyway, for this year, it seems
- 16:31like it's gonna stay that way, so I think they're both really
- 16:34nice options. Bangor streamers.
- 16:36OK, so this is not exclusive to the six game guys.
- 16:41A lot of them happen to be on these teams.
- 16:42Nevertheless, some guys are just too good to mention.
- 16:46So Kiefer Sherwood, five games this week.
- 16:49Just I, I feel like at this point he's rostered.
- 16:52I feel we should just list off all the names and then.
- 16:54Yeah, Jacob Trouba, Alex Romanov, Boone Jenner.
- 16:58Honorable mention both points and hits.
- 17:01Matthew Olivier, Luke Shen, Martin Pospisil.
- 17:05Yeah, I think all these guys, you know, can really turn the
- 17:07tide for you. And the hits category, yes, the
- 17:09defenseman specifically in blocks as well.
- 17:11I feel like they're all really good at that too.
- 17:13So if these guys are available in your leagues and you need a
- 17:16need 5 or 6 game players that are gonna you know, really help
- 17:20you in the banger categories like these are the names that I
- 17:22want to focus on. Like rolling all the lot.
- 17:25To pay attention to who's going to be active and who's not going
- 17:27to be active. Like that's going to be the main
- 17:28difference, yeah. Then we have the goalie
- 17:31streamers who are going to get at least three starts.
- 17:33Usually it's two, but just for doing now we focused on the
- 17:38first part of the week, so from the 7th to the 13th.
- 17:42Reason being that we wanted to it's it's very tough to predict
- 17:46two weeks in advance for goalie, so I feel like it just makes
- 17:49more sense. To do the also, it's like you
- 17:51don't know that how the last few games are gonna go, like people
- 17:54may people, teams may rest their starting goalie because you
- 17:58know, they're already secured or whatever.
- 17:59So we really wanted to focus on the beginning of the week when
- 18:01we have a little bit more predictability and give you some
- 18:04names of guys that we think can get you those starts if we need
- 18:08quantity. Yeah, so we have Calvin Pickard,
- 18:11Tristan Jarry and Elvis Presley guns.
- 18:13So Picard is this is with Skinner injured, which he's
- 18:19likely to get all the games because none of them are
- 18:20back-to-back. Concussion, but they said they
- 18:25said he might be back in like a week.
- 18:26Yeah, so if he does play them, Anaheim, Saint Louis, San Jose,
- 18:29Winnipeg. Winnipeg's tough, but the other
- 18:32three are pretty beatable. Although Saint Louis is a.
- 18:34Wacky. But who knows by that time if
- 18:36Winnipeg may be resting some guys.
- 18:38Also, Edmonton could be resting some guys too.
- 18:40So. Yeah, anyway, nevertheless, he's
- 18:42probably the guy. Yep.
- 18:44Then Chicago, New Jersey, Boston.
- 18:47For Tristan Jarry. Also three beatable teams.
- 18:50This feels like the best matchups are Target because
- 18:52Chicago really can beat Boston. Not the best team in New Jersey
- 18:56is kind of wishy washy. Definitely susceptible to being
- 18:58a team that loses. Yeah.
- 18:59So I think Pittsburgh are still trying for some reason, so.
- 19:04Yeah, they can't give up. They just don't have it in.
- 19:05Them if you look at Tristan Jarry's game log, he single
- 19:09handedly either lost you or want you to playoffs because he had
- 19:12two games where you let in like 4 shots on 7, four goals on
- 19:15seven shots and then the next thing you got shut out.
- 19:17So it's really just like the juxtaposition of both kind of
- 19:20extremes of what you can get with him.
- 19:22But if you you're really desperate and you need to guide
- 19:26is going to give you some quantity.
- 19:27I think that's three games that you can target.
- 19:29Yeah, and Elvis Presley Akins, who plays the Senators, Buffalo
- 19:34and Washington tough. I would prioritize the other
- 19:38guys, even though I think that, as you mentioned, Columbus could
- 19:41score a million goals in. A game.
- 19:43They could win these games, though.
- 19:45Versus Washington of course, and auto, I just feel like these are
- 19:48definitely harder matchups, but if the other two are taken,
- 19:52nothing wrong with picking them. He would just be lost.
- 19:55For yeah, I agree. Quality starts, so these guys
- 19:58are playing, you know, they have a decent chance to win one of
- 20:01their matchups. So we got Jonathan Quick playing
- 20:03Philly or New York Islanders. On a back-to-back, so I would
- 20:06target either game. Yeah, they could win both and
- 20:09the Rangers need to win and I think they probably will win
- 20:11both. Marc Andre Fleury Calgary versus
- 20:15or Calgary or Vancouver Also, they could win both.
- 20:20I'd rather play Vancouver and Calgary at this point for sure.
- 20:23But also, you know, I think Minnesota is just a good enough
- 20:27team that they can win any game they play.
- 20:29Yeah. And we might at that point they
- 20:31might have Kaprizov or Eric Snapback as well, which is.
- 20:34Like I feel like both they'll wouldn't handle it but otherwise
- 20:39I don't know. I feel like Calgary could beat
- 20:40them anyway. Nonetheless, still good to pick
- 20:43them up. Scott Wedgewood then plays LA or
- 20:46Anaheim. I'd much rather target him
- 20:48against Anaheim. I think is the game that he's
- 20:50going to get on that back-to-back.
- 20:51They'll probably give the better, stronger matchup to
- 20:53Blackwood, so Wedgewood against Anaheim would be a really nice
- 20:56way to round out your championship goalie starts.
- 21:00If you have like for some reason gone 0G and you're in the final
- 21:03still without anyone good, I'd probably go probably go pick
- 21:08hard and quick. If I can pick up like any of the
- 21:12combination, that would be what I.
- 21:13Would do so, yeah. OK, thank you to everybody for
