  Speaker 1: as just nothing happening, boring, bad television as WWE has

  Speaker 1: signed the contract. Randy Orton had some trouble doing so.

  Speaker 1: Randy Orton at WrestleMania. And Randy signed the contract and

  Speaker 1: time we got a violent, bloody angle to close out

  Speaker 1: the show. He bloodied up Cody Rhodes. You know, and

  Speaker 1: was blood all over the place, on the announced desk,

  Speaker 1: on the floor, Randy had Cody's blood all over him

  Speaker 1: at the end. It is more effective given that we

  Speaker 1: don't get to see this very often here on WWE.

  Speaker 1: It was a violent attack, right leaving no doubt that
• 4:21
  Speaker 1: this was a Randy Orton heel turn. Except nobody clued
• 4:25
  Speaker 1: in the fans and Phoenix to this because for the

  Speaker 1: most part, and I don't want to make it sound
• 4:30
  Speaker 1: like there were no boos at all whatsoever. When the

  Speaker 1: angle was going on and he was beating him up.

  Speaker 1: On the outside. There were booze, but by and large,

  Speaker 1: especially at the end, they were cheering Randy Orton for
• 4:43
  Speaker 1: nearly killing Cody Roads. At the end of this show,
• 4:46
  Speaker 1: they went off the air tonight with the fans chanting
• 4:50
  Speaker 1: Randy as Cody Roads laid there in a pool of
• 4:53
  Speaker 1: his own blood being tended to by officials. And when
• 4:57
  Speaker 1: it was over, I was very conflicted. On the one hand,

  Speaker 1: I was very happy that we got something on this show.

  Speaker 1: This was a bad show. You want if you want

  Speaker 1: to talk about drumming up interest and excitement in your

  Speaker 1: biggest event of the year, okay, you can't be putting

  Speaker 1: out standard smackdowns. I understand that not every week the
• 5:17
  Speaker 1: television show could be a home run. It's three hours
• 5:20
  Speaker 1: of television that they have to write. Not every week
• 5:22
  Speaker 1: is going to be a grand Slam. That's not what
• 5:24
  Speaker 1: I'm saying. We are in a period right now where

  Speaker 1: we are five weeks away from what is supposedly their
• 5:29
  Speaker 1: biggest show of the year. And I mean I watched
• 5:33
  Speaker 1: this show and literally two hours into the show and

  Speaker 1: I realized we still had another hour left, not even

  Speaker 1: two hours when we were an hour ninety minutes into
• 5:41
  Speaker 1: this show, and I'm like, I'm like this, this is horrendous.

  Speaker 1: This is horrendous. You would never know that WrestleMania was

  Speaker 1: right around the corner. I would say that it was

  Speaker 1: a one match show, but it wasn't even a match.

  Speaker 1: It was a contract signing. That's all this show was.

  Speaker 1: angle at the end here, right. So that was nice

  Speaker 1: like that they went the bloody, violent route. I thought

  Speaker 1: that was effective. But I'm also watching this and going, man,

  Speaker 1: they should have If they were gonna do this, why

  Speaker 1: not save it until WrestleMania. I understand, you have five

  Speaker 1: more weeks and you got to try to make things interesting,

  Speaker 1: and there are ways that you could have done that.

  Speaker 1: Where again, they dig a little bit into their history

  Speaker 1: and you build the tension slowly over these next five

  Speaker 1: weeks between these two men and get people thinking that,

  Speaker 1: wait a minute, what something's gonna go down to WrestleMania, right,

  Speaker 1: whatever's gonna happen is gonna happen to WrestleMania, because I

  Speaker 1: take you back one year. I'm watching the fans here

  Speaker 1: tonight chanting for Randy Orton right when this show was over,

  Speaker 1: and it took me back to a year ago when
• 7:00
  Speaker 1: we went through this same thing with John Cena and
• 7:04
  Speaker 1: Cody Rhoades. As great as the initial angle was an

  Speaker 1: elimination chamber turning John Cena heel, the heel turn did
• 7:10
  Speaker 1: not work. And even when he was trying his hardest
• 7:14
  Speaker 1: last year, right, he was healing on the fans and
• 7:16
  Speaker 1: all you fans have treated me so badly for twenty
• 7:19
  Speaker 1: five years. Right. It was fucking terrible because John Cena

  Speaker 1: has been beloved for so many years, and it just
• 7:25
  Speaker 1: felt so forced and it just didn't work. And you
• 7:29
  Speaker 1: had people who knew that this was the last time
• 7:31
  Speaker 1: they were going to be able to see John Cena.

  Speaker 1: They did not want to boo that man, so it

  Speaker 1: it didn't work. It did not work, and here we

  Speaker 1: are again. And my fear is that they haven't learned

  Speaker 1: the lessons of the past, and they couldn't wait until WrestleMania.

  Speaker 1: They just what, we got to have a heel turn

  Speaker 1: as soon as the contract gets signed. Somebody's got to

  Speaker 1: go heal, and they turned Randy tonight, and now we

  Speaker 1: have five weeks of heal Randy Orton going into WrestleMania,

  Speaker 1: and it's like, man, they should have waited until Mania

  Speaker 1: to do it, which, of course, in hindsight, I look

  Speaker 1: at the John Cena thing and I feel the exact

  Speaker 1: same way. I don't think that WrestleMania main event last

  Speaker 1: year would have been as bad if they would have

  Speaker 1: saved the actual turn for Mania, and I think it

  Speaker 1: would have been more impactful. But that again, that's hindsight,

  Speaker 1: and that's twenty twenty vision there. So I do wonder

  Speaker 1: if they made a mistake by sort of jumping the

  Speaker 1: gun and doing this tonight instead of saving it for WrestleMania.

  Speaker 1: I know people are going to look at this and go,

  Speaker 1: they turn the wrong person. They should have turned Cody Roads.

  Speaker 1: And I've been talking about this recently, Like, again, there's

  Speaker 1: nobody that they have on that roster right now who

  Speaker 1: is prepared to be in that position. They have not

  Speaker 1: gotten anybody ready to be in the Cody Road spot.

  Speaker 1: If they wanted to turn Cody Roads or WrestleMania, I

  Speaker 1: don't see who that person is. Okay, So that's the

  Speaker 1: main reason why I don't see them turning Cody roads heel.
