- 0:41[SPEAKER_01]: Happy Friday, everybody.
- 0:43[SPEAKER_01]: I know it's been a pretty tumultuous week, obviously kicking things off on a Monday, no less.
- 0:49[SPEAKER_01]: Everybody loves Mondays, right?
- 0:51[SPEAKER_01]: With the Miles Garrett trade rumors in the morning, and then by the afternoon, he was a Los Angeles Ram.
- 0:58[SPEAKER_01]: Things went quickly, but as we have found out, since the trade, reading through,
- 1:03[SPEAKER_01]: articles and things that have been posted since then throughout the week Albert Brewer's article came out, I think earlier this morning, this trade was in the works, this trade was a done deal well before Monday so.
- 1:16[SPEAKER_01]: You know, it was coming and the signs were there, but it doesn't make it any easier to digest.
- 1:23[SPEAKER_01]: So that's what today's about.
- 1:24[SPEAKER_01]: I've got your reactions, your voice males.
- 1:27[SPEAKER_01]: I've been collecting them throughout the week.
- 1:28[SPEAKER_01]: I haven't even listened to them yet because I want to react live here on the show to you guys.
- 1:33[SPEAKER_01]: Your voice males, we're going to start at the very beginning.
- 1:37[SPEAKER_01]: like the first voice mail I'm going to go in order from when I got them so we're going to take the early in the week reactions and we'll end with the most recent reactions from you guys about the mile of Garrett trade before I dive into those and your your feedback and your voice mail is I want to talk about OTAs this week and what the news and notes and the big things that came out from Wednesdays practice.
- 1:58[SPEAKER_01]: That's the session that was open to the media as it has been the last two weeks and
- 2:04[SPEAKER_01]: some of the information that we are starting to gather about this team ahead of training camp next month.
- 2:11[SPEAKER_01]: So I appreciate you guys being here tuning in again.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_01]: I hope your weeks are wrapping up well.
- 2:16[SPEAKER_01]: And it's Friday.
- 2:18[SPEAKER_01]: So let's just enjoy it.
- 2:19[SPEAKER_01]: Go to join the dogs.com if you guys want to get into the dog pack community, the discord, the private discord, get over there, hang out with everybody, end of course, sign up for fantasy football.
- 2:29[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't check again this morning, but I'm sure we're closing in, probably on.
- 2:34[SPEAKER_01]: Six leaked, maybe already being filled up last year we had nine total.
- 2:39[SPEAKER_01]: So I think we're going to go past that this season because it's only been it hasn't even been a week yet.
- 2:44[SPEAKER_01]: It's been four and a half days or whatever that the registration has even been open and we're filling up leaks.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_01]: So get in now.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_01]: We had dog pack fantasy football leaks kicking off in September.
- 2:56[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, the drafts will be late August, early September, but reserve your spot now join the dogs dot com.
- 3:01[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 3:03[SPEAKER_01]: OTAs on Wednesday.
- 3:04[SPEAKER_01]: Let's talk about that real fast before we go into the Miles Garrett voicemails from you guys.
- 3:08[SPEAKER_01]: So I did a quick video on this yesterday, put it out on social media.
- 3:12[SPEAKER_01]: I just want to expand a little bit on some of these notes.
- 3:14[SPEAKER_01]: Biggest news from the day, Jaredverse.
- 3:17[SPEAKER_01]: Did an episode yesterday talking all about Jaredverse, giving you guys some good background and information on him.
- 3:22[SPEAKER_01]: I hope you guys watched that and enjoyed it.
- 3:24[SPEAKER_01]: If you didn't go back, check it out.
- 3:26[SPEAKER_01]: he was there Wednesday at practice now he was a limited participant just because it was his first day there he didn't go through team drills he just did individual drills but it was really good to see all of the clips all of the the videos and pictures of Jared verse at Browns training got traded on Monday and turned right around OTAs on Wednesday he landed and Cleveland on Tuesday and he was there on the field.
- 3:52[SPEAKER_01]: Wednesday and interestingly enough, this was shared around social media quite a bit and I got a talk about it.
- 3:59[SPEAKER_01]: He's rocking Jersey number eight, which is already owned by Dylan Gabriel.
- 4:05[SPEAKER_01]: Who was still wearing number eight at practice?
- 4:08[SPEAKER_01]: I think that the writing is kind of on the wall for Dylan Gabriel.
- 4:11[SPEAKER_01]: We had I'll get to the quarterback discussion here in a minute, but Todd Monk and after practice on Wednesday talked about how he's not sure he's going to be able to name a starting quarterback ahead of training camp like he'd previously hoped.
- 4:24[SPEAKER_01]: He said the quarterbacks are pretty much dead even in this competition.
- 4:30[SPEAKER_01]: He said he leans one way or the other day by day it changes and his quote was, we have two starting level quarterbacks.
- 4:39[SPEAKER_01]: Well, that's the Sean Watson and Shador Sanders.
- 4:42[SPEAKER_01]: So Dylan Gabriel obviously not anywhere close to the conversation.
- 4:47[SPEAKER_01]: in a lot of times when you get these new players that come in and they want their previous jersey number, they go to the guy who currently has it and they'll buy it from them or give them some trade something to that player to get the number.
- 4:59[SPEAKER_01]: Sometimes guys will just give up that jersey number if it's like a let-like, what was it?
- 5:04[SPEAKER_01]: Um,
- 5:05[SPEAKER_01]: Chris Godwin.
- 5:06[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think Tom Brady had to buy his number 12 from Chris Godwin when he went to Tampa Bay.
- 5:12[SPEAKER_01]: I think Godwin just, here you go.
- 5:15[SPEAKER_01]: Greatest of all time.
- 5:17[SPEAKER_01]: Your number is yours.
- 5:18[SPEAKER_01]: I correct me if I'm wrong in the comments, guys, but I think that's how that one went down.
- 5:21[SPEAKER_01]: But either way, Jared verse shows up to Cleveland and he just takes number eight.
- 5:26[SPEAKER_01]: Like he's just he's his out there.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_01]: Number eight didn't buy it, didn't do anything.
- 5:30[SPEAKER_01]: Gabriel still has his jersey.
- 5:36[SPEAKER_01]: and then real quick sorry guys I meant to do this at the top of the show let me just interject another little promo here but this is really cool that something you guys might be interested in tomorrow saturday June 6th so hopefully you're listening or watching this before that at the the Tuscarot County Browns backers are hosting Josh cribs for a public
- 5:56[SPEAKER_01]: autograph signing at shenanigans bar and grill 704 east Avenue dover Ohio 44622 if you're not familiar with the Tuscarole County Browns backers.
- 6:06[SPEAKER_01]: They're killing it.
- 6:06[SPEAKER_01]: They are doing events.
- 6:09[SPEAKER_01]: that are just unreal and bringing in players, former players, alumni, all the time.
- 6:15[SPEAKER_01]: It is a great crew, a great chapter, so make sure you guys check that out, go to their Facebook page, see all the information, but tomorrow June 6 from noon to 2.
- 6:25[SPEAKER_01]: So from 12 to 2, at Shenanigans Bar and Grill, indoor for Josh Cribs.
- 6:30[SPEAKER_01]: If you guys are interested in that, then the last thing, I promise I'll get out of this and then we'll go right back into OTA stuff.
- 6:35[SPEAKER_01]: We will be doing the live stream from the bowling with the pros event.
- 6:40[SPEAKER_01]: Now, if you guys remember, we did this last year, and we're going to do it again this year.
- 6:44[SPEAKER_01]: So at Hall of Fame Lane, it's different.
- 6:46[SPEAKER_01]: It was at, uh,
- 6:49[SPEAKER_01]: Boulevard lanes, that's what he's in a new fill.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_01]: And no, I'm sorry, wall bash lanes in New Philadelphia or Dover, whatever it is, it's basically the same town.
- 6:57[SPEAKER_01]: I know if you guys are from there, you're going to hate me saying that.
- 6:59[SPEAKER_01]: I'm from Dover.
- 7:00[SPEAKER_01]: It's the same town.
- 7:01[SPEAKER_01]: But this one, boiling with the pros, Saturday, June 13th, so next Saturday, another Tuscarot, Tuscarot County Browns Bakers event.
- 7:12[SPEAKER_01]: will be at Hall of Fame lanes, boar registration, 50 bucks per boar.
- 7:16[SPEAKER_01]: If you want the autographed bundle, it's $200, includes one autograph from each of the guests.
- 7:22[SPEAKER_01]: I'll read those to you in a second.
- 7:24[SPEAKER_01]: And then $20 for non-boar spectators.
- 7:26[SPEAKER_01]: So if you just want to come along or bring somebody along, they're actually going to participate in the bowling, but they want to be at the event.
- 7:32[SPEAKER_01]: $20 a ticket.
- 7:32[SPEAKER_01]: So make sure you guys check this one out as well, bowling with the pro Saturday, June 13th.
- 7:36[SPEAKER_01]: That's from 11am to 4pm.
- 7:39[SPEAKER_01]: Again, we will be there.
- 7:41[SPEAKER_01]: It'll be me and Kenny Mac and I think we're going to link up with Angel Ortiz from the Beer to Brown Show.
- 7:46[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to be live streaming or at least attempting to live streaming.
- 7:49[SPEAKER_01]: Remember, we're working with technology here and Wi-Fi connections.
- 7:53[SPEAKER_01]: We should be good, but
- 7:54[SPEAKER_01]: I guess you just you never know.
- 7:56[SPEAKER_01]: But either way, that's the plan live streaming next Saturday the 13th.
- 7:59[SPEAKER_01]: Go check it out.
- 8:00[SPEAKER_01]: Here's the list of guests hand for Dixon Bob Golik Felix Wright, Tom Darden, Greg Pruitt, Mike Pruitt, Travis Tucker, Anthony Griggs, Reggie Langhorn, Ben Davis, Joe Sharbo-No.
- 8:12[SPEAKER_01]: Campy Russell, Elmore Smith, James Black, and Santonio Holmes.
- 8:16[SPEAKER_01]: I think Santonio Holmes might be iffy on that, but either way he was on the original list here.
- 8:22[SPEAKER_01]: And there is another guest that will be there, and I don't know if I'm allowed to actually say it right now, but I promise you guys will not be disappointed if you go.
- 8:31[SPEAKER_01]: Let me just tell you that right now, especially if you're a fan of former Cleveland Browns quarterback.
- 8:37[SPEAKER_01]: It's all I'm going to say.
- 8:37[SPEAKER_01]: But anyway, make sure you guys check that event out next Saturday.
- 8:42[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, back to the OTAs from Wednesday, the report there.
- 8:47[SPEAKER_01]: Michael Jr. talked about him last week, went off with a hyper extended knee, he's back at practice, so that's good.
- 8:53[SPEAKER_01]: I thought maybe he'd be out until training camp started.
- 8:56[SPEAKER_01]: It looked worse than it was, obviously last week, him going off the field.
- 9:00[SPEAKER_01]: He had the rap on the knee yesterday, but back at practice.
- 9:03[SPEAKER_01]: That's a good sign because our defensive tackle depth is not very good because you've got Mason Graham at the top who, by the way, is not practicing right now.
- 9:14[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to get to the list of guys that weren't practicing and I just want to give you guys a heads up now.
- 9:19[SPEAKER_01]: There are no reasons why they don't have to give like an injury report.
- 9:22[SPEAKER_01]: So when you see guys aren't practicing most of the time, there's no explanation.
- 9:27[SPEAKER_01]: We don't know why they're just not out there.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_01]: Mason Graham was not out there.
- 9:31[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think he was out there last week either, but you got Malik Collins who obviously isn't out there either because he's coming off the injury from last year.
- 9:38[SPEAKER_01]: but they expect him to be ready for the start of the season then you got my call who deals with injuries all the time and then after that it's like I don't really know who's playing defensive tackle so it's a it's a slippery slope that we're rolling here with this defensive line as far as depth.
- 9:54[SPEAKER_01]: But that's the situation with my call.
- 9:56[SPEAKER_01]: He's back.
- 9:56[SPEAKER_01]: So that's good.
- 9:57[SPEAKER_01]: The injury could have been a lot worse than what it was.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_01]: Defense was dominant this week at OTAs, at least on Wednesday when media was present.
- 10:06[SPEAKER_01]: These guys were talking about how multiple of the reps during team drills would have resulted in sacks on the quarterback.
- 10:13[SPEAKER_01]: Zach Jackson from the athletic had the
- 10:15[SPEAKER_01]: He had the tweet of the day.
- 10:16[SPEAKER_01]: He said this is a top five OTA defensive form performance that I've ever seen.
- 10:21[SPEAKER_01]: So whether that was a little tongue-in-cheek and he's just kind of being his sarcastic self, there might have been some truth there because other people were saying as well like the defense was just.
- 10:30[SPEAKER_01]: flying around at that practice and making plays.
- 10:34[SPEAKER_01]: We had two UDFA cornerbacks that were making big plays all day and this seems to be a common theme throughout the majority of OTAs, last three weeks.
- 10:43[SPEAKER_01]: You got Nate Evans from Delaware and of course our guy Michael Coats Jr. from West Virginia.
- 10:48[SPEAKER_01]: Michael Coats, obviously the guy that we're really hoping can lock down that nickel corner roll for the Browns.
- 10:55[SPEAKER_01]: He intercepted Deshawn Watson on a
- 11:00[SPEAKER_01]: Well, frankly, you guys know how I feel about the Sean Watson right now.
- 11:04[SPEAKER_01]: A 10-year veteran quarterback should not be making that throw, especially in 7 on 70 rolls out because of no pressure.
- 11:11[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know what he's doing.
- 11:13[SPEAKER_01]: And just tries to force this pass in the end zone.
- 11:16[SPEAKER_01]: And it was not there.
- 11:17[SPEAKER_01]: And Michael Coats just picked it off.
- 11:19[SPEAKER_01]: Like, OK. Well, that looks like what we remember from 2024.
- 11:25[SPEAKER_01]: Spencer Fano for the first time at least in front of the media when I say a lot of this stuff is like first time this first time that I'm talking about when the media is present because the other days are OTAs we don't know because the media is not allowed in there.
- 11:38[SPEAKER_01]: But on Wednesday Fano was actually finally with the first team offensive line he hadn't been previously.
- 11:44[SPEAKER_01]: And this week, he was finally with the first team O'Line.
- 11:48[SPEAKER_01]: The first team offensive line.
- 11:50[SPEAKER_01]: This week consisted of Spencer Fano, Zion Johnson at left guard, Elkton Jenkins was playing center, which was not worthy because he has not practiced the last two weeks, at least in the Wednesday sessions.
- 12:02[SPEAKER_01]: And then Titus Howard was at right tackle.
- 12:05[SPEAKER_01]: That was notable because Titus Howard had previously been absent from OTAs.
- 12:09[SPEAKER_01]: He didn't come until this week.
- 12:11[SPEAKER_01]: No reports, no reporters that were there, that I was reading from or checking the notes and things, mentioned who played right guard.
- 12:20[SPEAKER_01]: I have no clue who played right guard with the first team offensive line on Wednesday, because nobody reported it.
- 12:25[SPEAKER_01]: It was not heaven Jenkins because he was not at practice.
- 12:29[SPEAKER_01]: He was another one on that list.
- 12:30[SPEAKER_01]: So,
- 12:32[SPEAKER_01]: Todd Munkin said that they've got pretty much the four of the five starting offensive lineman figured out and then he made the note that Elkton Jenkins could still play guard or center so that fifth starter this was a quote from Todd remains to be seen.
- 12:50[SPEAKER_01]: So you know you've got Fano, you've know you've got Johnson, Elkton Jenkins and Titus Howard.
- 12:54[SPEAKER_01]: Those are your four of the five starting offensive line with the only wild card being Elkton Jenkins, whether he plays center or he moves over to right guard.
- 13:02[SPEAKER_01]: And in my opinion, the only debate there is whether or not, Tevin Jenkins is gonna be the starting right guard.
- 13:13[SPEAKER_01]: or Parker Brailsford is gonna be the starting center.
- 13:16[SPEAKER_01]: That is the decision the Browns are going to have to make in my opinion.
- 13:19[SPEAKER_01]: Again, that is not a report that is not based on anything.
- 13:21[SPEAKER_01]: I saw red or anything, anybody else posted.
- 13:25[SPEAKER_01]: But I'm just picking through clues, picking through notes and things, Luke Whiplier's not practicing.
- 13:30[SPEAKER_01]: Hasn't practiced yet at OTA's, that I've seen.
- 13:33[SPEAKER_01]: So obviously, they're not debating about whether or not he's playing center right now because he's not practicing.
- 13:40[SPEAKER_01]: Parker Brailsford, you've seen at least Tony Grossy in the past, I think it was last week said, wouldn't be surprised if he's running with the starting O-line come training camp.
- 13:49[SPEAKER_01]: And Tevin Jenkins, we know, has had some run with the starting O-line at right guard.
- 13:56[SPEAKER_01]: But again, not practicing, so that leads me to believe that it is down to the fifth spot between ten Jenkins either playing right guard or it's going to be Parker Brailsford playing center.
- 14:07[SPEAKER_01]: That is your final spot, Elkton Jenkins will then slot in wherever the void happens to be.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_01]: Again, this is just OTA's week three, we got mandatory mini camp next week and then a long stretch until training camp, but that is my current gut feeling on how this offensive line is shaking out.
- 14:26[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so also not at practice this week.
- 14:28[SPEAKER_01]: Denzel Ward, obviously not at OTAs at all.
- 14:31[SPEAKER_01]: Grant Delphate was there last week, but didn't practice.
- 14:34[SPEAKER_01]: Nobody saw him this week.
- 14:35[SPEAKER_01]: Malik Collins was not there.
- 14:37[SPEAKER_01]: Again, Mason Graham was not there.
- 14:40[SPEAKER_01]: So, Emmanuel McNiel warn was there, but like last week, not practicing.
- 14:46[SPEAKER_01]: and I'll repeat it.
- 14:47[SPEAKER_01]: Again, here, guys, I don't know why they're not practicing.
- 14:49[SPEAKER_01]: That we don't get updates, we don't get information.
- 14:52[SPEAKER_01]: And for what I've seen from these press conferences, post-practice, nobody even bothers to freaking ask.
- 14:58[SPEAKER_01]: Like, they wanna ask Todd Munkin, how he feels about meeting with Dion Sanders.
- 15:02[SPEAKER_01]: Let's talk about that here in a minute, by the way.
- 15:05[SPEAKER_01]: But they won't ask, why is Mason Graham not out here?
- 15:08[SPEAKER_01]: Like, just ask the pertinent questions, you idiot's, I, the clearly media drives me nuts.
- 15:13[SPEAKER_01]: No, let's talk about Dion Sanders.
- 15:15[SPEAKER_01]: I'd like to know about my team and my players, please.
- 15:18[SPEAKER_01]: Let me give me media credentials.
- 15:20[SPEAKER_01]: Please, let me go.
- 15:21[SPEAKER_01]: I'll ask the frickin' questions.
- 15:24[SPEAKER_01]: Anyhow, back to this list here.
- 15:26[SPEAKER_01]: Dom Jones, these are other names that were there at practice, but not on the field practicing.
- 15:32[SPEAKER_01]: So, Dom Jones, Daniel Thomas, Khalia Davis, Elijah Chapman, Luke Whipler, Dylan Samson, and Harold Fanon Jr. Keep getting the questions.
- 15:41[SPEAKER_01]: Why isn't Fanon practicing?
- 15:43[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, guys, I wish somebody would ask.
- 15:45[SPEAKER_01]: I really do.
- 15:47[SPEAKER_01]: But we don't know.
- 15:48[SPEAKER_01]: And it doesn't seem like any of the Cleveland media really cares to find out either.
- 15:54[SPEAKER_01]: This episode is sponsored by Kaoshi.
- 15:56[SPEAKER_01]: All right, Browns Vand, you know, we've all messed around with the sports books before, right?
- 16:00[SPEAKER_01]: And let's be honest, you're always kind of playing into the house.
- 16:03[SPEAKER_01]: But with Kaoshi, it's different.
- 16:04[SPEAKER_01]: You're not betting against some sports book.
- 16:07[SPEAKER_01]: You're trading against other real world people.
- 16:10[SPEAKER_01]: There's no house trying to beat you Kaoshi just runs the marketplace.
- 16:14[SPEAKER_01]: So if you think the public is wrong, like everybody's overreacting to these smoke screens in the draft or sleeping on a prospect, you can literally take the other side of the market.
- 16:23[SPEAKER_01]: And it's not just sports either, you can trade on other real-world stuff, interest rates, inflation, even wild weather outcomes.
- 16:29[SPEAKER_01]: It works like this, simple yes or no markets, your risk is capped up front and your payout is locked in.
- 16:34[SPEAKER_01]: So if you trust your takes and instincts, and I know you guys do, go check out Kalshin's see what markets are live right now.
- 16:40[SPEAKER_01]: So head over to Kalshy.com slash dogs, KAL, SHI.com slash dogs, DAWGS, deposit just $20 and Kalshy's gonna match you.
- 16:49[SPEAKER_01]: They're gonna put $20 free into your account.
- 16:52[SPEAKER_01]: That's a great deal to get started.
- 16:53[SPEAKER_01]: So again, calshie.com slash dogs $20 match when you deposit $20 into your account.
- 17:03[SPEAKER_01]: As for your quarterback competition that's going on right now.
- 17:07[SPEAKER_01]: to Sean Watson opened the practice with the starting unit during the walk through period.
- 17:14[SPEAKER_01]: But when they got to 11 on 11's and competitive team drills, it was Shador Sanders with the first team right away and he took the majority of all the first team reps in those drills.
- 17:25[SPEAKER_01]: The 11 on 11's, all the competitive sessions, all that stuff 7 on 7's.
- 17:29[SPEAKER_01]: Should or had the throw the day, you guys have probably seen it again.
- 17:32[SPEAKER_01]: I can't play it on the podcast here for copyright reasons.
- 17:35[SPEAKER_01]: I'll get demonetized, but go check it out.
- 17:37[SPEAKER_01]: It'll be on my social media pages, primarily X, and you can find it anywhere you look for it.
- 17:44[SPEAKER_01]: He had this deep pass.
- 17:46[SPEAKER_01]: We saw it multiple times last year in games to Isaiah Bond.
- 17:50[SPEAKER_01]: beautiful pass right down field right in the bread basket touched down past Isaiah bond and again like I said the other day I say a bond I'm I'm not trying to overreact to spring practices because if you're going to do that then last year we would all the Jamaican thrash was the wide receiver too and he's going to be a breakout can and all this stuff.
- 18:10[SPEAKER_01]: because he was really tearing it up in OTAs and stuff.
- 18:12[SPEAKER_01]: But I say, if Bond seems to really be consistently making big plays every week so far at OTAs.
- 18:17[SPEAKER_01]: Now, hopefully that trend continues into training camp and preseason and he can take a next step in his second year.
- 18:25[SPEAKER_01]: But so far, it has been positive news positive reports about Isaiah Bond, and the connection between him and Shador Sanders, especially the downfield passing Mike goodness.
- 18:34[SPEAKER_01]: It was there right away last year, we saw it in the Raiders game.
- 18:37[SPEAKER_01]: Boom, 52 yards strike, almost for her touchdown, should have been, he got touched down at the one yard line.
- 18:44[SPEAKER_01]: But they were making big plays downfield to him every week.
- 18:48[SPEAKER_01]: So as far as a quarterback decision, I already said this, but again, Monkin said he's not sure if the team's gonna be ready to name a starter.
- 18:55[SPEAKER_01]: I had a training camp like he'd originally hope to do.
- 18:58[SPEAKER_01]: I've been kind of questioning that this whole time, if you guys remember, because I keep saying too, I don't know how you can have this quarterback competition and say you want to get the best guy out there, but you're going to make the decision before you ever see them in a padded practice.
- 19:15[SPEAKER_01]: because again to Sean Watson always looks good in shorts go back to any offseason program for the browns since he's been here it's been rave reviews put him in paths let him you know getting front of a pass rush that's baron barrel and down is neck and see if he can still make plays then because we've seen he can't
- 19:39[SPEAKER_01]: So now Todd Munkin seems to be a little more hesitant to, well, maybe we're not going to name a guy before training camp.
- 19:47[SPEAKER_01]: And if you guys want my opinion, I don't think they will.
- 19:50[SPEAKER_01]: I could be wrong.
- 19:50[SPEAKER_01]: We could get through mandatory as next week and they come out and say, so and so we're going to name him the starter head and in training camp.
- 19:55[SPEAKER_01]: Whatever.
- 19:57[SPEAKER_01]: Again, I don't care who they name.
- 19:59[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if it'll stick because I think both guys.
- 20:03[SPEAKER_01]: whether it's Deshawn or Shador.
- 20:05[SPEAKER_01]: You could name a guy that's starter now, but that could change throughout training camp, based on performance, I think it's all, I think it's all very touching go until we get to the season.
- 20:17[SPEAKER_01]: So, we'll see how that plays out, but that's kind of my feeling right now.
- 20:21[SPEAKER_01]: And then, it's just, I guess a little interesting note that came out last night, so they finished up their OTAs yesterday on Thursday.
- 20:29[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, that one was not open to the media.
- 20:32[SPEAKER_01]: but we found out that there was a college head coach who came to Brown's training camp or trained camp came to Brown's OTA's to watch practice because he was the head coach of one of our quarterbacks.
- 20:47[SPEAKER_01]: People have been freaking out about this, right?
- 20:49[SPEAKER_01]: For how long now, guys?
- 20:51[SPEAKER_01]: I have been hearing that college head coach is gonna come force his way into Brown's practice.
- 20:55[SPEAKER_01]: He's gonna force his way into the Brown's coachies, he's gonna go talk to Todd Munkin and try to influence this quarterback situation, everything else.
- 21:03[SPEAKER_01]: College coach shouldn't be doing that.
- 21:06[SPEAKER_01]: Why can't believe Deon Sanders would do that, guys?
- 21:08[SPEAKER_01]: I can't believe that actually happened.
- 21:11[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, you guys know, it wasn't Deon Sanders.
- 21:14[SPEAKER_01]: It was Davos Weenie.
- 21:17[SPEAKER_01]: to Shawn Watson's college, football coach from 10 to 11 freaking years ago.
- 21:25[SPEAKER_01]: Just cracks me up, guys, it's just fun.
- 21:27[SPEAKER_01]: I hope you guys are kind of chuckling along with me.
- 21:30[SPEAKER_01]: Seriously, because we've heard the freak outs, you know, whether it's Shador haters, Dion haters, Browns fans who just hate the Sanders family for whatever reason or not.
- 21:40[SPEAKER_01]: Like I can't believe Dion Sanders will wanna meet with Todd Monk and this is, he's trying to force his way in.
- 21:46[SPEAKER_01]: He's never even met with Todd Monk in yet.
- 21:48[SPEAKER_01]: But Dabo Sweeney was at Owens OTA yesterday and met with the coaching staff.
- 21:54[SPEAKER_01]: Just, it's funny because there's no outrage about it.
- 21:57[SPEAKER_01]: Nobody gives a crap.
- 21:59[SPEAKER_01]: But if it was Dion Sanders that came into that, whoo, baby, it's all you hear about.
- 22:04[SPEAKER_01]: The only thing you would hear about, but I guess, you know, everyone, and this is another thing, too.
- 22:11[SPEAKER_01]: And if you guys were out there thinking of this, come on, drop it in the comments, let me know.
- 22:15[SPEAKER_01]: You gotta be feeling a little bit like, okay, maybe I was stretching a little bit when you said things like,
- 22:22[SPEAKER_01]: I can't believe you should door Sanders can't handle being an NFL quarterback without his, you know, his dad is his college coach coming to help him out and all this stuff.
- 22:33[SPEAKER_01]: Do you not feel the same about the Sean Watson then.
- 22:36[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe even more considering that he's being paid 230 million dollars to play that position for us.
- 22:41[SPEAKER_01]: We try to three first round picks to get him.
- 22:44[SPEAKER_01]: Probably doesn't need his college coach from 11 to 12 years ago to come to practice.
- 22:49[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 22:50[SPEAKER_01]: Thought that was weird.
- 22:51[SPEAKER_01]: Thought it was interesting.
- 22:53[SPEAKER_01]: But you guys let me know how you think about that, just it wouldn't be an offseason guys without some really weird and funny humorist quarterback controversy in Cleveland.
- 23:07[SPEAKER_01]: So, either way, that wraps up OTAs
- 23:11[SPEAKER_01]: for the 2026 offseason program for your Cleveland Brown.
- 23:14[SPEAKER_01]: So no more OTAs, they are done.
- 23:17[SPEAKER_01]: All that's left mandatory in many camp next week.
- 23:20[SPEAKER_01]: And it gets June 9th through the 11th or 12th.
- 23:24[SPEAKER_01]: Something like that, I believe Wednesday will be the only session open to the media yet again.
- 23:31[SPEAKER_01]: And then after it's over, that's a wrap.
- 23:33[SPEAKER_01]: These guys get out of Beria.
- 23:35[SPEAKER_01]: They go their separate ways, they're gone.
- 23:36[SPEAKER_01]: They are left at their own devices.
- 23:39[SPEAKER_01]: They're not back in the building until training camp kicks off in late July, so.
- 23:44[SPEAKER_01]: Stay tuned.
- 23:44[SPEAKER_01]: Hang in there, we'll cover mandatory this next week and then we got a long stretch.
- 23:49[SPEAKER_01]: We'll be bringing you guys some differing content here throughout that summer break.
- 23:53[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously there won't be as much browns and mused at home in on, but we got some cool stuff planned.
- 23:59[SPEAKER_01]: So just make sure you guys stay tuned for those for that.
- 24:00[SPEAKER_01]: So, all right, first voice mail here today, or like I said at the beginning of the show, I'm gonna go, I haven't even listened these yet.
- 24:07[SPEAKER_01]: I've been trying to hold off because I wanna react live.
- 24:11[SPEAKER_01]: I'm gonna take it from the order I receive them.
- 24:14[SPEAKER_01]: So if you send a voice moment earlier in the week, I'm gonna go through those first.
- 24:18[SPEAKER_01]: and then I will end with the most recent voicemail that I just got here this morning because I want to hear what the reactions were like.
- 24:25[SPEAKER_01]: Earlier in the week compared to what they are now and we're a little further away from this trade happening, but it kind of breaks my heart here.
- 24:32[SPEAKER_01]: This first one is from our boy, Cooper, our little nine-year-old buddy down in El Paso, Cooper, man.
- 24:39[SPEAKER_01]: I don't even want to listen to your voicemail.
- 24:40[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to break my heart.
- 24:41[SPEAKER_01]: I know how much you love Miles Garrett.
- 24:43[SPEAKER_01]: I know you still
- 24:48[SPEAKER_01]: And, well, let's just listen to the voice now.
- 24:50[SPEAKER_01]: We'll talk about it.
- 24:51[SPEAKER_04]: Hey, guys, Cooper's back.
- 24:54[SPEAKER_04]: I'm really mad about that trade.
- 24:57[SPEAKER_04]: But I mean, at least we still got somebody, like, a big good.
- 25:01[SPEAKER_04]: I'm a pro-border guy.
- 25:03[SPEAKER_04]: I'm so really, really freaking mad about that trade.
- 25:07[SPEAKER_04]: Worst trade ever.
- 25:10[SPEAKER_04]: That's an, an, I'm out.
- 25:13[SPEAKER_01]: Worst trade ever, Cooper, come on, man.
- 25:16[SPEAKER_01]: I love you.
- 25:17[SPEAKER_01]: Adam talked to your son to show him what's in trade still exists.
- 25:21[SPEAKER_01]: That one was that you can't beat that one and how bad of a trade it was.
- 25:26[SPEAKER_01]: But Cooper on with you, buddy, it sucks to lose miles Garrett and I promise you that Jared verse is more than just a little good.
- 25:34[SPEAKER_01]: I promise and yeah, he's he's going to be a good young ascending player for this defense.
- 25:41[SPEAKER_01]: I think he'll be the future leader of our defense.
- 25:44[SPEAKER_01]: And unlike Miles Garrett, because I did want to say this, you know, yesterday when I was doing the Jared verse and I was kind of leading into it, and then I got distracted forgot the way my mind works as just how it goes.
- 25:56[SPEAKER_01]: Let's not all pretend like Miles Garrett was.
- 26:02[SPEAKER_01]: want to say perfect okay and I'm not trying to come at this well okay we traded the guy let's poo on him no that's not what I'm doing here obviously is the one of the greatest Cleveland Brown players to ever play is one of the greatest defense players in NFL history
- 26:19[SPEAKER_01]: But let's not pretend like he was perfect.
- 26:21[SPEAKER_01]: Let's not pretend like there weren't times during his nine seasons here where we, as a collective fan base, you guys know this is true, where we were not complaining about him taking plays off, or him not showing up in games or moments when it really mattered, or him not having the impact that we were hoping for in crucial situations.
- 26:40[SPEAKER_01]: Let's not pretend like those didn't exist.
- 26:44[SPEAKER_01]: That happened.
- 26:46[SPEAKER_01]: You guys know what happened.
- 26:47[SPEAKER_01]: You're lying to yourself if you don't think it did.
- 26:49[SPEAKER_01]: We complained about it on the show.
- 26:50[SPEAKER_01]: We had episodes where we talked about, was Miles Garrett not given his full effort in this game, or we worried about the lack of impact over this stretch of games or whatever the case might be.
- 27:03[SPEAKER_01]: And let's also not pretend like we didn't spend and I see it also from media all the time.
- 27:07[SPEAKER_01]: And it comes up every year when he doesn't come to OTAs.
- 27:12[SPEAKER_01]: People question his leadership.
- 27:15[SPEAKER_01]: miles isn't that great of a leader and we've had episodes on this podcast where we've said, yeah, no kidding.
- 27:20[SPEAKER_01]: He's not he's not a good leader.
- 27:22[SPEAKER_01]: That's not what that's not his role.
- 27:24[SPEAKER_01]: That's not the role he embodies.
- 27:25[SPEAKER_01]: That's not the role he ever took on.
- 27:28[SPEAKER_01]: He'll go out on the field and dominate.
- 27:31[SPEAKER_01]: But that's about the extent of it.
- 27:33[SPEAKER_01]: He's not a rock guy.
- 27:34[SPEAKER_01]: He's not a gather the lock or room around me type of guy.
- 27:38[SPEAKER_01]: and he just never was.
- 27:40[SPEAKER_01]: So let's not obviously we are lamenting the loss of him not being here anymore and we're everybody's got those googly eyes remembering the great times and I love Miles Garrett as much as you guys do too.
- 27:53[SPEAKER_01]: But again let's just not pretend like he was perfect.
- 27:56[SPEAKER_01]: and Jared verse, already in two seasons in the NFL, you can see this from coaches, people within the Ram's organization, teammates that he had at their NLA, he's a very good leader, vocal leader,
- 28:12[SPEAKER_01]: He's going to rally the troops in the locker room on the sideline.
- 28:18[SPEAKER_01]: I think that he is going to bring obviously not the type of impact that Miles Garrett had on the defensive side of the ball, but he's going to bring his own impact, a very strong impact in its own right.
- 28:30[SPEAKER_01]: It will be the Jared verse impact, it won't be the Miles Garrett impact.
- 28:34[SPEAKER_01]: And I don't think that's necessarily
- 28:37[SPEAKER_01]: A bad thing.
- 28:37[SPEAKER_01]: I think that what we're going to get with verse.
- 28:39[SPEAKER_01]: I think we're going to like it.
- 28:40[SPEAKER_01]: So I'll just leave it at that Cooper.
- 28:44[SPEAKER_01]: I feel for you, buddy.
- 28:45[SPEAKER_01]: This is tough.
- 28:46[SPEAKER_01]: Welcome to Brown's fandom, my little friend.
- 28:49[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 28:49[SPEAKER_01]: Next one here.
- 28:50[SPEAKER_01]: Let's get to this voicemail from Grant.
- 28:53[SPEAKER_02]: Hey guys, it's a boy Grant here, I'm sure I'm not sure if it hurt or not, but Brendan Sourer's B, the NCAA denied his waiver for eligibility, so that means he might be going to the compensary draft, as that was called I can't remember now.
- 29:13[SPEAKER_02]: I know Josh, talk about it.
- 29:15[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if I got a month ago, it seems like maybe even longer.
- 29:19[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think he'd be worse going after as a compensatory pick.
- 29:22[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, the documents that came out over $90,000 spent on gambling in four years.
- 29:30[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, he placed over 40 bets on his one team when he was in Indiana.
- 29:36[SPEAKER_02]: I just don't think it'd be worth the risk.
- 29:39[SPEAKER_02]: They guy, he definitely has gambling addiction problems.
- 29:43[SPEAKER_02]: I think he needs to go get help before you place football.
- 29:45[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if he's in the bronze knee that we only need any more quarterback drama anyway.
- 29:50[SPEAKER_02]: So just punch on out there.
- 29:52[SPEAKER_02]: See what it goes on.
- 29:53[SPEAKER_02]: Get your sights on it.
- 29:56[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so Grant's voice mail was actually not about the Miles Garrett trades about Brenn's source, but yeah, man, I'll just hit this real quick because I don't want to dwell on it too much.
- 30:02[SPEAKER_01]: You've really laid out the situation.
- 30:04[SPEAKER_01]: They're pretty well anyway in your voice mail.
- 30:06[SPEAKER_01]: For everybody to hear, I don't think I want to touch that situation.
- 30:09[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's a really good idea for the Browns to obviously look into it to investigate what
- 30:15[SPEAKER_01]: It might take to get him if he's even worth going after.
- 30:17[SPEAKER_01]: You got to do your due diligence.
- 30:19[SPEAKER_01]: Like I said last month when I did the show, if you don't have your quarterback locked into place, your answer solidified at the position, you have to explore all options that are out there.
- 30:29[SPEAKER_01]: Whether or not you actually act on those options, well, that's based on your findings.
- 30:34[SPEAKER_01]: And I think what it comes down to at Brenna Source is pretty much what you said there.
- 30:39[SPEAKER_01]: The talent right now, there's obviously raw talent that this kid has, that is enticing to an NFL team, but it's not put together.
- 30:48[SPEAKER_01]: And you're looking at, yes, they denied his eligibility, he's still going through the appeal thing.
- 30:54[SPEAKER_01]: I don't even know where that stands right now, because I kind of backed off of it, because I'm not interested anymore, but with the gambling thing, and now there's talk that the NFL might suspend him for a full season, even if he does come into the league,
- 31:07[SPEAKER_01]: I just forget about it, guys.
- 31:09[SPEAKER_01]: I, I don't think it's worth it.
- 31:12[SPEAKER_01]: You're right, absolutely, Grant.
- 31:14[SPEAKER_01]: We have enough quarterback drama as it is.
- 31:18[SPEAKER_01]: And, and, according, I should say, I see people say, we got enough quarterback with problems.
- 31:24[SPEAKER_01]: We have one quarterback with problems, okay?
- 31:26[SPEAKER_01]: That's it.
- 31:27[SPEAKER_01]: Shoulder Sanders has no problems.
- 31:29[SPEAKER_01]: People have problems with him, but he does not have problems.
- 31:33[SPEAKER_01]: I want to make that very clear.
- 31:34[SPEAKER_01]: He's done nothing but good things for the Cleveland community, since he's been drafted.
- 31:38[SPEAKER_01]: By the, he's done nothing but work his ass off, since he's been drafted and focus on being the best person and player he can be.
- 31:45[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not trying to like just butter him up here for you guys, but that's just the truth.
- 31:49[SPEAKER_01]: That is just the reality.
- 31:50[SPEAKER_01]: So, no, I'm good on Brennan's source, B. Nah, we, not worth it.
- 31:55[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I guess if you could flip a six round pick and get him, okay, but I'm sure some team will probably swing a third.
- 32:03[SPEAKER_01]: if he goes to the supplemental draft, not the compensatory draft to supplemental draft.
- 32:07[SPEAKER_01]: You had me that whole time grant through that whole voicemail sitting there going, what the hell's it called?
- 32:12[SPEAKER_01]: What is that word?
- 32:13[SPEAKER_01]: Because now I'm just thinking compensatory.
- 32:14[SPEAKER_01]: I can't even think of the word supplementary anymore.
- 32:17[SPEAKER_01]: I had to look it up while you were talking because I'm thinking, my gosh, I cannot remember the word, but thanks for the voicemail.
- 32:23[SPEAKER_01]: Appreciate hearing from you and, well, actually grant.
- 32:27[SPEAKER_01]: It looks like you sent me two, so maybe the second one's about miles.
- 32:30[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, actually scratch that.
- 32:31[SPEAKER_01]: I started listening to Voice My Realize.
- 32:32[SPEAKER_01]: That's the one that you sent and we played on Monday during the show.
- 32:35[SPEAKER_01]: So again, thank you Grant, the next voice mail now that I know we're going to get to this one from Clawd.
- 32:40[SPEAKER_06]: Hey, gang, go out from your yellow.
- 32:43[SPEAKER_06]: So I quit my job in Toronto, so that's why I haven't been calling in.
- 32:46[SPEAKER_06]: I don't drive around all day, apologize and I don't much your value in my thoughts.
- 32:50[SPEAKER_06]: But I just wanted to call in and just play you guys know how to stoke to him.
- 32:55[SPEAKER_06]: So if you're an international fan, I don't think a lot of Americans realize this.
- 32:59[SPEAKER_06]: but especially as an international clean brown family, like when someone asked me like why are you a clean brown span, I have to like pour my heart out, my family's from there, you know, like so much more than that.
- 33:12[SPEAKER_06]: I grew up across the lake, blah, blah, blah.
- 33:14[SPEAKER_06]: But we like we got a team and we got some,
- 33:18[SPEAKER_06]: solid draft takes now.
- 33:20[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, we lost the go, but I'm stoked.
- 33:23[SPEAKER_06]: I'm stoked.
- 33:24[SPEAKER_06]: Like you like, like I said before, the bandwagoners are coming and they're coming, dude.
- 33:29[SPEAKER_06]: They're coming.
- 33:31[SPEAKER_06]: Uh, but as for everything else, you know, I'm so virtual door.
- 33:35[SPEAKER_06]: If the Sean comes out and he does kill it, he's getting a double doorclop from me at most.
- 33:39[SPEAKER_06]: Like he said, I'm a brown fan I'm gonna be stoked for the Browns, but I'm gonna have a hard time cheering for Shidon.
- 33:45[SPEAKER_06]: She didn't know my god.
- 33:47[SPEAKER_06]: The Sean, but you know, I'm not gonna fool.
- 33:50[SPEAKER_06]: Anyway, go dogs.
- 33:52[SPEAKER_06]: Go Browns.
- 33:55[SPEAKER_01]: Shedon.
- 33:56[SPEAKER_01]: Oh my gosh, that is the worst celebrity couple name ever Shedon.
- 34:03[SPEAKER_01]: He cracked me out dude.
- 34:04[SPEAKER_01]: All right, Claude, I hope your new job's going very well and all of that.
- 34:08[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, man.
- 34:08[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I guess that's a different type of voicemail than what I was expecting to get especially early on in the week.
- 34:14[SPEAKER_01]: But I was talking to some people here the last couple of days and they were asking me about this, you know, Miles Garrett trade.
- 34:20[SPEAKER_01]: And I said, honestly, I feel like fans are one way or the other you're either 8 up about it and just pissed and upset or you're looking at it saying, yeah, he didn't want to be here anyway and his value is not going to ever be any higher than it is right now.
- 34:36[SPEAKER_01]: We got a damn good player in return.
- 34:39[SPEAKER_01]: Plus premium draft capital.
- 34:42[SPEAKER_01]: And I know everybody's going to say, well, that 2027 first round picks going to be a late pick.
- 34:47[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, very, very likely.
- 34:49[SPEAKER_01]: It very likely will be.
- 34:51[SPEAKER_01]: Doesn't mean that's where we're using it.
- 34:53[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, that pick, the thing is the way this last draft went to, with the Browns being able to trade back, collect extra draft capital, land four first round projected players and the first two rounds, it really set this roster up to a point where, next season.
- 35:12[SPEAKER_01]: If you wanted to package picks and move up from wherever you are in the first round to go get your guy, if should door doesn't work out, here we're, you know, that's, I'm still holding out hope that should door can show us something, but if it's for a quarterback or hell, we want to trade up and try to go get Jeremiah Smith, I know you guys all love Jeremiah Smith, I do too.
- 35:35[SPEAKER_01]: Now, options are on the table to go be aggressive rather than being more conservative and trying to maximize value.
- 35:44[SPEAKER_01]: Now, you can be a little more ballsy with your picks and say, you know what, let's go, let's go get some, let's go get that guy, that dude that we want.
- 35:55[SPEAKER_01]: and getting Jared verse helps that as well because now you're not sitting there saying, well, we need to find our top edge rusher of the future and that kind of, you've already got him.
- 36:02[SPEAKER_01]: You've already got your DE1, your franchise defensive end on the roster.
- 36:09[SPEAKER_01]: That's a huge move in my opinion.
- 36:10[SPEAKER_01]: And that is how I feel.
- 36:12[SPEAKER_01]: That's how I feel about Jared verse.
- 36:16[SPEAKER_01]: This episode is sponsored by Butcher Box for Pets.

- 38:40[SPEAKER_01]: We love hearing your opinions.
- 38:41[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, we always plan on the show.
- 38:44[SPEAKER_01]: Same as we do for our boy Kurt.
- 38:46[SPEAKER_01]: Who's up next?
- 38:48[SPEAKER_07]: What's up guys, Kurt from Jersey.
- 38:51[SPEAKER_07]: First of all, I'd like to pitch a spin-off podcast with me and Justin from Jersey as the Jersey dogs and we'll figure out the franchise amount later, but listen guys, seriously, the dust is settling on the miles trade, maybe not settling,
- 39:17[SPEAKER_07]: little bit clearer thoughts coming through.
- 39:21[SPEAKER_07]: Look, if you've been a Brown fan for a long time, this is just the status quo.
- 39:26[SPEAKER_07]: If you're a new Brown fan or a younger Brown fan, do they once traded our entire team to Baltimore for, you know, we got an expansion bad college team in return.
- 39:41[SPEAKER_07]: It's just the way it goes, man, nobody's here for a long time until we get a solid
- 39:48[SPEAKER_07]: winning team, you know, don't get used to anybody.
- 39:52[SPEAKER_07]: Everybody, anybody could go at any time.
- 39:55[SPEAKER_07]: But, you know, look, it is what it is.
- 39:58[SPEAKER_07]: Let's go Browns.
- 40:02[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, by miles.
- 40:03[SPEAKER_01]: Kurt, I don't know if you were joking about doing your own spin-off podcast, but I'll tell you what, buddy.
- 40:08[SPEAKER_01]: Hit me up.
- 40:09[SPEAKER_01]: DM me on Discord and let's talk about that idea.
- 40:13[SPEAKER_01]: If you and Jersey Justin want to put together your own little once a week or, you know, every other week, little podcast episode or we can call it the Jersey dogs, you know, version of the dogs or whatever, I'll edit it.
- 40:27[SPEAKER_01]: I'll set you guys, I will hook you up.
- 40:28[SPEAKER_01]: I will set you up with your recording platform.
- 40:32[SPEAKER_01]: You can you do jump on, do your show, done.
- 40:35[SPEAKER_01]: I will edit it and I will post it as a segment of the dog's podcast.
- 40:38[SPEAKER_01]: If you'd like to, I'll just put that out there here for everybody to hear because I think you guys are hilarious and cracking me up all the time.
- 40:45[SPEAKER_01]: So hit me up.
- 40:46[SPEAKER_01]: Let's see if maybe there's something we can work out there.
- 40:48[SPEAKER_01]: But I hear the pain in your voice at the end after you tell everybody, don't get used to any players around here.
- 40:54[SPEAKER_01]: It is what it is.
- 40:56[SPEAKER_01]: but the pain with the by miles.
- 40:58[SPEAKER_01]: I know, man, I was anticipating this trade for a long time.
- 41:06[SPEAKER_01]: Not this specific trade, not too specifically the ramps, but just the trading of miles' Garrett, I was going to be more shocked than, I was going to be more shocked if they didn't trade him the summer than if they did.
- 41:20[SPEAKER_01]: Let's put it that way.
- 41:23[SPEAKER_01]: So I was kind of already prepared for it, but it does speak to how, you know, I said this before.
- 41:28[SPEAKER_01]: I'm a fan of the team before I'm a fan of any player.
- 41:30[SPEAKER_01]: Everybody that's that's on this team.
- 41:32[SPEAKER_01]: I was a fan of the team long before they were here.
- 41:35[SPEAKER_01]: And I will be a fan of the team long after they are gone, but it is really hard at the same time not to get attached to certain players while they're here.
- 41:43[SPEAKER_01]: It's because that's the human thing, man.
- 41:45[SPEAKER_01]: Work humans.
- 41:45[SPEAKER_01]: They're humans.
- 41:47[SPEAKER_01]: and they're pouring their heart and soul out there for the team that we love.
- 41:51[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I'm already attached to Harold Fan and Junior.
- 41:53[SPEAKER_01]: I just, I, you know, love the guy.
- 41:55[SPEAKER_01]: So it's one of those things.
- 41:57[SPEAKER_01]: I get it.
- 41:59[SPEAKER_01]: But you know, Kurt's right.
- 42:02[SPEAKER_01]: You know, if you guys are newer brown spans, Cooper, you know, younger brown spans and you're not, you know, battle tested and you don't have all the emotional scars that us older guys do, guys and gals do.
- 42:16[SPEAKER_01]: This is the big one for you.
- 42:17[SPEAKER_01]: You'll remember this one forever.
- 42:19[SPEAKER_01]: But next
- 42:23[SPEAKER_03]: Some guys is just guaranteed for Mark and so this wondering after the miles Garrett trade how you guys feel regarding the season I know we're not gonna be a contender obviously we need that before the trade But with this trade happening we definitely are gonna be further the progress the team obviously So with that being said what your thoughts about Todd Monk and now is he gonna be the scapegoat is it gonna be Close to the situation like with the Texans a couple years back with David Cohen or cut David Kully
- 42:50[SPEAKER_03]: Do you think we did the same thing with Todd Munkin and then with that being said if he starts to dirt start the season and He struggles and we're losing Do you think Todd Munkin makes a change because he fears for his job or is he already been Granted that security you guys think let me know what your guys.
- 43:09[SPEAKER_03]: It's thoughts are.
- 43:10[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you guys.
- 43:11[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, Gary.
- 43:11[SPEAKER_01]: Thanks for the voice mail there So Blake said this Monday.
- 43:14[SPEAKER_01]: I hundred percent agree
- 43:17[SPEAKER_01]: You know, whatever your expectations were for this team, when Miles Garrett was still here, should probably be your same expectations now that he's gone.
- 43:26[SPEAKER_01]: The reason being, we won eight games the last two years in Miles Garrett was having the best seasons of his career.
- 43:32[SPEAKER_01]: And we won three games and five games.
- 43:36[SPEAKER_01]: So, it's not like we lost Miles Garrett and replaced him with nothing.
- 43:41[SPEAKER_01]: Jared versus a day one plug-and-play high-end.
- 43:45[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if we want to say, like, elite tier yet, but I mean, if you look at his pressure rates on the quarterback, he's got the third most.
- 43:53[SPEAKER_01]: It's Michael Parsons, Miles Garrett, Jaredverse.
- 43:56[SPEAKER_01]: Jared versus a very high level player.
- 43:58[SPEAKER_01]: So we're replacing Miles Garrett with not a major step down, okay?
- 44:03[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, no matter what you replace him with is going to be a step down.
- 44:09[SPEAKER_01]: Many steps down from Miles Garrett.
- 44:10[SPEAKER_01]: He's the greatest in the league.
- 44:13[SPEAKER_01]: But it's not a far drop from miles of air to Jaredverse, not as far as a lot of people may have felt right away or may even still feel.
- 44:20[SPEAKER_01]: But I'm telling you guys, we've got a good plug and play day one, young starter.
- 44:27[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that if you were expecting the team to win six to seven games this year,
- 44:33[SPEAKER_01]: Stick with it.
- 44:33[SPEAKER_01]: Six to seven games.
- 44:34[SPEAKER_01]: Whatever you thought before is what you should still think now.
- 44:37[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think this has that big of an impact on it.
- 44:40[SPEAKER_01]: The bigger impact is what you were talking about at the end there.
- 44:43[SPEAKER_01]: Who plays quarterback and how do they go?
- 44:44[SPEAKER_01]: How do they do?
- 44:46[SPEAKER_01]: If it starts with Shador and he struggles.
- 44:51[SPEAKER_01]: I don't.
- 44:52[SPEAKER_01]: It's just hard for me in an original world where you go to Deshawn because I'm telling you Deshawn Watson's going to suck.
- 44:56[SPEAKER_01]: Like he's he's going to suck.
- 45:00[SPEAKER_01]: It will have been 700 days again before he plays another down of actual football action in a game.
- 45:10[SPEAKER_01]: The last time that happened, he sucked bad this time.
- 45:16[SPEAKER_01]: He's coming off of multiple injuries plus 700 days of being off the field in game action.
- 45:22[SPEAKER_01]: I just don't see how it could possibly happen.
- 45:26[SPEAKER_01]: But I don't know, man, I don't really have a good read on this Todd Munkin thing yet with this higher.
- 45:33[SPEAKER_01]: I could see it both ways, Gary, and I don't mean defense straddle here, but there's a world, there's a path where I see like, maybe he did get a scapegoated on this thing.
- 45:42[SPEAKER_01]: And then I also see a world where it's like, no, they did tell him, like, hey, you're gonna be here for at least two seasons.
- 45:46[SPEAKER_01]: We just wanna get through this one.
- 45:49[SPEAKER_01]: See if you can develop Shador, see what happens, but you're coming back for 2027 regardless.
- 45:53[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, man.
- 45:55[SPEAKER_01]: and I know Blake wants to talk a lot about on this show when he comes on how it all comes down to how many wins, how many wins, how many wins and at the end of the day, yes, the record is what matters.
- 46:05[SPEAKER_01]: But for me, there's so much context too.
- 46:08[SPEAKER_01]: How many wins do we have, how many losses and how did they happen?
- 46:12[SPEAKER_01]: Because like with Kevin Stephansky, yeah, we lost what 12 games last year,
- 46:19[SPEAKER_01]: but they were really bad losses because they were two or three of them that we should have won.
- 46:24[SPEAKER_01]: That's the kind of stuff they get you fired.
- 46:26[SPEAKER_01]: If you lose 12 games and it's because the other team just, they were just better than you.
- 46:31[SPEAKER_01]: They just had better talent, but you fought tooth and nail, but they just edge you out at the end or something like that.
- 46:38[SPEAKER_01]: It's different than losing by a given, you know, multiple special teams touch downs to the jets and then just not being able to move the ball,
- 46:46[SPEAKER_01]: on a team when you're holding the quarter back to like five yards the entire game and you still lose that's the kind of stuff to get you fired.
- 46:53[SPEAKER_01]: But we'll see I wish I had a better answer for you, Gary, and on that one, but I think what happens here through training camp and into the preseason we'll we'll start to get a better understanding of how this.
- 47:06[SPEAKER_01]: relationship and how this Todd Munkendeele came to be.
- 47:09[SPEAKER_01]: But I still have my high hopes for what he's going to be able to do with this offense.
- 47:12[SPEAKER_01]: And the new offensive weapon, you got to remember, too.
- 47:15[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think we're, when you talk about Shidorah struggling, I don't think it can be anything like what we saw last year, he's got a, he's got all new offensive line.
- 47:23[SPEAKER_01]: Can they gel, can they work together?
- 47:25[SPEAKER_01]: How long does that take?
- 47:26[SPEAKER_01]: Well, that's, that's going to be a big factor.
- 47:29[SPEAKER_01]: But man, you talk about improving the weapons on offense.
- 47:33[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think I think there's definitely reason for optimism there are we got to left this one is from Zach aka fake burns.
- 47:43[SPEAKER_08]: Okay, this is Zach aka fake burns really had to decompress and let the trade set in before I left a voicemail.
- 47:55[SPEAKER_08]: I was even telling my buddy, my buddy that before I submitted one shout out aeto.
- 48:01[SPEAKER_08]: But Miles Garrett has been my favorite player.
- 48:04[SPEAKER_08]: I am 23 years old, and he has been on the team since I was 13.
- 48:09[SPEAKER_08]: Met him one time in a Walmart in like 2019 when I was in high school.
- 48:14[SPEAKER_08]: Genuine dude, cool moment.
- 48:16[SPEAKER_08]: I'll never forget it.
- 48:17[SPEAKER_08]: So this is a hard pill to swallow.
- 48:19[SPEAKER_08]: Kind of hoped he would be a brown forever.
- 48:21[SPEAKER_08]: Um, so I was really upset with the trade when it first happened, but uh, the more I let it sit, the more I'm okay with it.
- 48:27[SPEAKER_08]: Um, like Blake said, I think it sets up our future.
- 48:29[SPEAKER_08]: Amazingly, uh, maybe not this season, but these guys are young.
- 48:34[SPEAKER_08]: I mean, reminds me of the calves a couple of years ago and now look at us and the, we, well, Eastern Commons finals this year, but still young.
- 48:42[SPEAKER_08]: Lots of potential for growth and to be a good team this is how you rebuild I feel like the Browns haven't actually done a proper rebuild my entire life So hopefully this is it hopefully they're doing it right this time and with miles going to the Rams Hopefully they win a Super Bowl in two years so our first round pick and be better, but really rooting for an win a Super Bowl in VP oh Browns
- 49:04[SPEAKER_01]: Thanks for the voice, Melzack.
- 49:05[SPEAKER_01]: Always great to hear from you.
- 49:06[SPEAKER_01]: I know it's been a minute.
- 49:08[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, again, for the younger Browns fans out there, I mean, my house gear has been here from nine years, almost a decade.
- 49:13[SPEAKER_01]: That's a long time for anybody's life span.
- 49:15[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, for me, means I would have been $26, something like that.
- 49:21[SPEAKER_01]: Today's my birthday, actually.
- 49:22[SPEAKER_01]: I guess I...
- 49:23[SPEAKER_01]: You know, when you get older, you kind of forget when your birthday is.
- 49:25[SPEAKER_01]: Just kind of dawn on me.
- 49:26[SPEAKER_01]: That is actually today.
- 49:28[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so it's a long stretch, a decade of your time of your life with one guy on the team.
- 49:34[SPEAKER_01]: But one thing you did mention there at the end that I thought was interesting about how it feels like the Browns are actually doing the rebuild correctly this time because I agree.
- 49:42[SPEAKER_01]: The last time we did this, obviously we had the Hugh Jackson years where we went 1 in 150 and 16.
- 49:49[SPEAKER_01]: Those are some fun times if you weren't around for that.
- 49:52[SPEAKER_01]: The rebuild, and a lot of people like to go back to John Dorsey was such a great general manager.
- 49:56[SPEAKER_01]: If you remember the way he was kind of working through that rebuild was, has been described just thrown crap against the wall and hoping it sticks.
- 50:05[SPEAKER_01]: He was just spraying and praying.
- 50:07[SPEAKER_01]: And if you go back and look at some of the drafts that he had, not that Andrew Barry's earlier, drafts were any better.
- 50:13[SPEAKER_01]: But...
- 50:15[SPEAKER_01]: He could get some good players, but man could he miss on guys.
- 50:19[SPEAKER_01]: And what the Browns have done with this rebuild.
- 50:23[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not really sure what was all happening the first four or five years of Andrew Barry's tenure here with the drafts and they missed on so many guys, but they did collect some talent.
- 50:33[SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, you get your guys like Grant to help it.
- 50:35[SPEAKER_01]: Unfortunately, somebody like J.O.K.
- 50:36[SPEAKER_01]: that didn't work out through to the injury.
- 50:39[SPEAKER_01]: No fault of his own.
- 50:40[SPEAKER_01]: But this specific rebuild moment that we are in.
- 50:46[SPEAKER_01]: Feels like the type of rebuild we watch other teams do and wish that we could do.
- 50:50[SPEAKER_01]: where they know, okay, we're not really competing for our championship right this minute, but let's, let's rebuild, but let's do it more like a ritual where we do this crap real fast.
- 51:00[SPEAKER_01]: Like boom, boom, boom, boom, we know what we need.
- 51:02[SPEAKER_01]: We go and we get them and we get guys that aren't going to take four or five years to actually get into their their prime or whatever.
- 51:08[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to get guys that can contribute now and their development window is short because they are really good players.
- 51:16[SPEAKER_01]: They don't need a long time to develop.
- 51:18[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to happen
- 51:20[SPEAKER_01]: That's what it feels like, now it actually has to take place and ask to happen, but the way it's shaping up Zack, I do agree with you that we could look back on this.
- 51:30[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, we're Browns fans.
- 51:32[SPEAKER_01]: Long time Browns fans like me, you guys know you always have to throw the caveat in, but it's the Browns.
- 51:37[SPEAKER_01]: Good things go real bad.
- 51:39[SPEAKER_01]: Yelp, sure could.
- 51:40[SPEAKER_01]: Sure have, they always do, but.
- 51:44[SPEAKER_01]: There is also a reason to believe that at some point in the future, we're going to look back on this short rebuild here, these years of this rebuilding say, that's when they turn things around and became a good team.
- 51:57[SPEAKER_01]: I hope that's the case.
- 51:58[SPEAKER_01]: That's the way I'm choosing to roll with they right now.
- 52:01[SPEAKER_01]: Again, we are Brown's fans.
- 52:03[SPEAKER_01]: So we know that there is definitely a way it goes bad.
- 52:06[SPEAKER_01]: But I don't want to go down that path today.
- 52:08[SPEAKER_01]: I want to be happy.
- 52:09[SPEAKER_01]: Like I said, it's my birthday.
- 52:10[SPEAKER_01]: I want to be happy today.
- 52:11[SPEAKER_01]: So
- 52:12[SPEAKER_01]: Let's just stay happy and we're gonna stay happy here with our final voice mail of the day if I can get it over here.
- 52:18[SPEAKER_01]: Fill up.
- 52:18[SPEAKER_00]: How you doing guys?
- 52:20[SPEAKER_00]: This is Philip from Dubai.
- 52:21[SPEAKER_00]: My thoughts on the mouths gave it a very simple.
- 52:23[SPEAKER_00]: First it was a punch in the gut.
- 52:25[SPEAKER_00]: And then I listened to the episode and I really appreciated how you took the emotions out immediately.
- 52:32[SPEAKER_00]: I got off the bat.
- 52:33[SPEAKER_00]: Let's look at this from a business perspective and it's a win-win for everybody.
- 52:38[SPEAKER_00]: the Rams hopefully complete their roster and hopefully they win this above.
- 52:42[SPEAKER_00]: I want this whole thing to work out for them to be great also because Garrett will get his ring and he would have probably not gotten it to the next couple of years.
- 52:49[SPEAKER_00]: But then to be honest for me the problem I have and I'm not trying to take a shot at him is for me there was a lack of leadership from his part.
- 52:57[SPEAKER_00]: He was not very vocal about certain things.
- 53:00[SPEAKER_00]: He was not the locker room guy.
- 53:01[SPEAKER_00]: I mean
- 53:02[SPEAKER_00]: from where I know I wasn't in the locker, but I would have liked for him to show up to all these OTAs, especially after the contract he was asked to be a leader and it's just for me role model.
- 53:10[SPEAKER_00]: I know these OTAs don't make him a better player, he doesn't need to be there, but it would have just, you know, it would have send a signal.
- 53:16[SPEAKER_00]: What it's been, you know, what a role model leader does and hearing versus come to press conference.
- 53:22[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like we've got a good person here and there's something I want to address as well.
- 53:26[SPEAKER_00]: I know we're not going to have success this year, probably a lot of
- 53:29[SPEAKER_00]: for me as a person, I just love that the Browns are getting good human beings on their roster right now.
- 53:36[SPEAKER_00]: Looking at the people that have, they just look great.
- 53:38[SPEAKER_00]: And this is for me something that makes me personally very happy at first.
- 53:41[SPEAKER_00]: So let's see what this goes.
- 53:42[SPEAKER_00]: Go Browns.
- 53:43[SPEAKER_00]: Woo, woo, woo.
- 53:44[SPEAKER_01]: All right, fill up.
- 53:45[SPEAKER_01]: Man, that.
- 53:46[SPEAKER_01]: That was the freaking voice my one to end on today, man.
- 53:48[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you for that.
- 53:49[SPEAKER_01]: You delivered for this one.
- 53:51[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I already touched on the leadership thing with Miles.
- 53:54[SPEAKER_01]: So you handle, you're right there with me on that.
- 53:57[SPEAKER_01]: Good to hear.
- 54:00[SPEAKER_01]: You gotta kind of take a motion out of it too at some point because if you get emotional, you're just going to be sad all the time with the things the Browns do for the most part.
- 54:10[SPEAKER_01]: But really,
- 54:11[SPEAKER_01]: that the business side of this move made sense.
- 54:14[SPEAKER_01]: And I was thinking about this earlier, I might do a short video about it just to get everybody's opinion out there as well.
- 54:20[SPEAKER_01]: But, you know, if you look at it from both sides, you know, everyone wants to say right away, well, who won the trade, who won the trade?
- 54:26[SPEAKER_01]: Well, if you look at it from the brown side, can you really win a trade where you, you depart with your best player with one of the absolute best players, not just in the league, but in history?
- 54:39[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think you ever want to trade where you lose that player where you remove that guy from your team.
- 54:44[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think you ever win that trade.
- 54:46[SPEAKER_01]: Look at it from the ramp side of you.
- 54:48[SPEAKER_01]: Do you ever win a trade where you give up one of your up and coming ascending top players at the position in the whole league, best young players at the position?
- 54:58[SPEAKER_01]: Do you ever win a trade where you give that guy up plus a first round second and third round pick in the future?
- 55:04[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think a team would ever say, yeah, we won that trade.
- 55:07[SPEAKER_01]: So if you just look at it in terms of what each side gave up, not what each side collected, but what each side gave up, I don't think either side really won.
- 55:15[SPEAKER_01]: They just did what was necessary in their situation.
- 55:18[SPEAKER_01]: Miles Garrett don't want to be here.
- 55:21[SPEAKER_01]: We knew that from last year.
- 55:22[SPEAKER_01]: And that kind of speaks to what you're saying Philip as far as the leader.
- 55:25[SPEAKER_01]: He's not the locker room, guys.
- 55:26[SPEAKER_01]: Not the raw raw guy.
- 55:27[SPEAKER_01]: It's really hard to go out there and be a leader for your team and get everybody rallied around you.
- 55:32[SPEAKER_01]: When you don't, you want to be there in the first place.
- 55:34[SPEAKER_01]: And everybody knows that, everybody can feel that.
- 55:37[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, you go out there and you pressure the quarterback and you get your sacks and it's great during the game.
- 55:43[SPEAKER_01]: But I'm sure it practice during the week and the locker room and they're working out.
- 55:47[SPEAKER_01]: The vibes are probably like, it's kind of like, you guys know out there at work.
- 55:52[SPEAKER_01]: You guys know when you're working with somebody who really doesn't wanna work that job.
- 55:56[SPEAKER_01]: Like, they don't care about that company.
- 55:59[SPEAKER_01]: They really don't wanna be there.
- 56:00[SPEAKER_01]: They got their eyes elsewhere.
- 56:03[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, they're doing their job, the best they can when they have to, but for the most part, you know, they don't want to be there.
- 56:08[SPEAKER_01]: You can tell.
- 56:10[SPEAKER_01]: And it affects everybody around them.
- 56:11[SPEAKER_01]: It does.
- 56:13[SPEAKER_01]: And for the Rams, you know, I'm sure they didn't want to, they didn't want to give up Jared verse.
- 56:19[SPEAKER_01]: Did not want to give up Jared verse.
- 56:22[SPEAKER_01]: They end up giving up him and all those draft picks.
- 56:24[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm sure they didn't really want to do that, but it's like,
- 56:29[SPEAKER_01]: Miles Garrett is an upgrade oververse and he will help us get to the Super Bowl and when it right now, which is what we want to do.
- 56:36[SPEAKER_01]: So you make sacrifices.
- 56:37[SPEAKER_01]: You have to get cave on something you don't necessarily want to do, but you know you need to do and this is too good of an opportunity to pass up in the situation.
- 56:48[SPEAKER_01]: That was could be said for both sides and I think it was when you look at it from that perspective,
- 56:53[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think there's a winner or a loser.
- 56:55[SPEAKER_01]: I think both teams got what they needed, did what they had to do, and we moved forward.
- 57:00[SPEAKER_01]: So, I appreciate hearing from everybody.
- 57:03[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you all for sending your voice, Melbs.
- 57:05[SPEAKER_01]: It's been a tough week.
- 57:06[SPEAKER_01]: I know whenever you trade a way, whenever you trade a way, the best player, one of the best players in your franchise history, that sucks.
- 57:14[SPEAKER_01]: It rocks the boat, like it shakes people to the core.
- 57:18[SPEAKER_01]: But it was not a, it's not like we got nothing back.
- 57:22[SPEAKER_01]: So there's really good hope, like Philip ended there for the show.
- 57:26[SPEAKER_01]: I thought that was a great way to say it, too.
- 57:29[SPEAKER_01]: We got good young players, good young people, good young men on this team now.
- 57:34[SPEAKER_01]: I think you're going to see a culture shift in the Cleveland Browns.
- 57:40[SPEAKER_01]: with these guys.
- 57:42[SPEAKER_01]: And I think you're, it's going to translate to the field.
- 57:44[SPEAKER_01]: That's my hope.
- 57:45[SPEAKER_01]: That's my wish.
- 57:45[SPEAKER_01]: And that's my belief.
- 57:46[SPEAKER_01]: So we won't know until September.
- 57:49[SPEAKER_01]: But until then, I'm going to believe it.
- 57:51[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm going to speak it into existence.
- 57:53[SPEAKER_01]: So thank you guys for being here today.
