- 0:02Speaker 2: Chuck Norris was chasing the Tyrannosaurus Rex.
- 0:05Speaker 3: The rex was not chasing the jeep. Murray, Murray, you there?
- 0:09Speaker 3: You love sandwiches? Huh, Let's go to eighty.
- 0:13Speaker 4: It was bo.
- 0:16Speaker 3: Wow that prime Time. Maybe I had a crush on
- 0:18Speaker 3: Betty Rubble.
- 0:19Speaker 2: I honestly, until after the segment ended and we went
- 0:22Speaker 2: to commercial break, had no idea that Jonathan Coachman was black.
- 0:25Speaker 3: He caught them the game last night, although they won
- 0:28Speaker 3: the game. You're listening to to Godson Company.
- 0:32Speaker 2: He is the newest host along with Mike Goldick Junior,
- 0:35Speaker 2: his son on ESPN Radio ten to twelve Easter and
- 0:39Speaker 2: every single day. Mike, Ea, this man our friend, Mike
- 0:42Speaker 2: Golic Senior. He does it right. Not only is he
- 0:44Speaker 2: going back to ESPN with his son, he gets the
- 0:47Speaker 2: entire month off. He doesn't start till early August. How
- 0:50Speaker 2: about that, Mike Ya.
- 0:52Speaker 5: That's just shrewd negotiating. I have so many questions about
- 0:57Speaker 5: this new show.
- 0:58Speaker 4: Yes, when does it star?
- 1:00Speaker 3: What time is it on?
- 1:01Speaker 5: Do you have a producer? Are you setting stone with
- 1:04Speaker 5: that that does all that work? He asked those questions,
- 1:08Speaker 5: are you looking.
- 1:09Speaker 3: At are you lobbying for a job right in front
- 1:11Speaker 3: of my face.
- 1:13Speaker 5: I'm just asking the man some questions about retirement benefits
- 1:17Speaker 5: and what kind of medical coverage they're going to offer
- 1:20Speaker 5: the producer of whoever is lucky enough to get that show.
- 1:23Speaker 2: And you know what, while we're there, you know, if
- 1:25Speaker 2: you need an update anchor, Mike, I'm available.
- 1:27Speaker 3: I just so you know. Okay, wow, wow.
- 1:30Speaker 4: Look at you too.
- 1:31Speaker 6: How about the reason the reason why it's Christine Leasy
- 1:37Speaker 6: and will continue to be Christine Leasy?
- 1:40Speaker 4: And we all know, we all know the.
- 1:43Speaker 6: Goodies that she bakes our second yes, none. She already
- 1:47Speaker 6: text me about coming back and we were chatting and
- 1:50Speaker 6: I said, I said that that's that's one of the
- 1:52Speaker 6: reasons I signed there.
- 1:54Speaker 4: Is those baked goods. I said that that put it
- 1:58Speaker 4: over the top.
- 1:59Speaker 2: Yes, it's a good reason to sign there, because those
- 2:02Speaker 2: bank goods. By the way, she's a much better update
- 2:04Speaker 2: anchor than.
- 2:05Speaker 3: I am, so we're clear.
- 2:06Speaker 6: Yeah, yes, we would actually get the update that we
- 2:10Speaker 6: were all expected.
- 2:11Speaker 4: And yeah it was weird.
- 2:13Speaker 6: I'm actually going home again and they didn't change the
- 2:16Speaker 6: locks on the door, so.
- 2:17Speaker 2: They let me in right and look at I mean,
- 2:20Speaker 2: now you have Disney passes for life.
- 2:21Speaker 3: Look at you.
- 2:22Speaker 6: I mean, boy, you know what I found out because
- 2:27Speaker 6: I took a couple of the grandkids to Disneyland, and
- 2:31Speaker 6: which was a mistake because they were still too young,
- 2:34Speaker 6: and you always take your kids when they're too young,
- 2:37Speaker 6: and you end up having.
- 2:39Speaker 4: A very, very h The park's beautiful, but just the crowd.
- 2:43Speaker 6: And and I found out as a retired Disney employee,
- 2:47Speaker 6: I have passes as well.
- 2:49Speaker 4: I got passes for the rest of my life. It's awesome.
- 2:51Speaker 2: Yes, oh my god, I am so happy for the
- 2:54Speaker 2: two of you. And mikey A if he gets the jump.
- 2:56Speaker 5: I mean, listen, I was just gonna ask your producer
- 2:59Speaker 5: would also get it passes?
- 3:00Speaker 4: Correct? Yes, yes, now now Mike, Yeah, I'm sure you.
- 3:04Speaker 4: I would imagine.
- 3:05Speaker 6: You know Devin Kane, and I believe he is going
- 3:07Speaker 6: to be uh producing the show.
- 3:10Speaker 5: Devin Kane would be a wonderful second chair. I know Devin.
- 3:16Speaker 4: I've worked with Devin.
- 3:17Speaker 5: Yeah, Devin and I have a great working relationship that
- 3:21Speaker 5: I'm looking for the job Easton Chemistry.
- 3:23Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 3:23Speaker 3: I want to say I should be offended, but I'm not.
- 3:25Speaker 2: I mean, I taught these guys, Mike, so yeah.
- 3:30Speaker 4: And and boyle boy.
- 3:31Speaker 6: It's just all I mean, the the amount of intermingling
- 3:34Speaker 6: of former ESPN to ESPN do back at ESPN and listen.
- 3:39Speaker 6: It's it's it's going to be a lot of fun people.
- 3:42Speaker 6: People are already asked, I've done a few interviews, what
- 3:45Speaker 6: kind of show is it going to be this?
- 3:46Speaker 4: And I'm like, it's going to be a sports show.
- 3:49Speaker 4: I said.
- 3:50Speaker 6: There is no show out there starting ANEW or anything
- 3:53Speaker 6: that's reinventing the wheel, right, Yes, I mean you're doing
- 3:57Speaker 6: And they're like, well, it's kind of a new era
- 3:59Speaker 6: of the l landscape has changed with digital and podcasts.
- 4:02Speaker 4: I said, that's true.
- 4:04Speaker 6: I said, what hasn't changed is I'm going to talk
- 4:06Speaker 6: into a microphone and where the executives decide to distribute
- 4:10Speaker 6: it is up to them, Right, no control over that.
- 4:13Speaker 4: I'm not changing how I do a show.
- 4:15Speaker 3: Right, I'm doing a radio show.
- 4:17Speaker 2: You want to stick a camera in my face and
- 4:18Speaker 2: send it out everywhere, go ahead.
- 4:20Speaker 3: I have no idea.
- 4:21Speaker 6: That was the biggest question way back when when Greeny
- 4:25Speaker 6: and I were doing ESPN radio and they put us
- 4:28Speaker 6: on TV. Yeah, the first thought was, God, please don't
- 4:32Speaker 6: tell me I have to wear a coat and tie
- 4:34Speaker 6: like you do on normal ESPN studio shows. They said, no, no,
- 4:37Speaker 6: it's radio. I said, and please God, don't tell me
- 4:40Speaker 6: I have to play to a camera. They said, no, no,
- 4:43Speaker 6: it's radio. The cameras will just shoot you. You just
- 4:46Speaker 6: do a radio show. So that I was happy about.
- 4:49Speaker 2: As someone who sat in that time slot for eight
- 4:52Speaker 2: nine years or so, I can tell you, because you're
- 4:54Speaker 2: used to mornings, that's a midday slot. It's a great slot.
- 4:58Speaker 2: It's a two hour sprint. It's not too early, it's
- 5:00Speaker 2: not too late. It's a great spot.
- 5:02Speaker 6: Mike, I'm telling you. You know, the shows Mike and
- 5:04Speaker 6: I had done at DraftKings and FanDuel were two hours,
- 5:08Speaker 6: and after twenty some odd years of four hours in
- 5:12Speaker 6: the morning, let me tell you, yes, two hours and
- 5:16Speaker 6: especially when you get to sleep in oh man, Yes, yes,
- 5:20Speaker 6: sign me up.
- 5:20Speaker 4: Well I guess I did. Sign up. Sounds like a.
- 5:23Speaker 5: Great gig for whoever is lucky enough to be working
- 5:27Speaker 5: in and around.
- 5:28Speaker 3: That for Devin's number one.
- 5:29Speaker 4: Right, well played, Mike.
- 5:34Speaker 2: Jeez, let's get into some sports and congratulations to you guys.
- 5:38Speaker 3: You know we're happy for you.
- 5:40Speaker 4: I appreciate that.
- 5:41Speaker 2: Can you believe sixteen years after the day that Lebron
- 5:44Speaker 2: said I'm taking my talents down to South Beach, we're
- 5:47Speaker 2: still enamored by Lebron James in a free agency decision.
- 5:51Speaker 4: Yeah, well, I'll tell you what it's.
- 5:53Speaker 6: It's credit to him because he's still playing great ball. Yep, right, Yes,
- 5:58Speaker 6: I mean it blows ows my mind how now. Listen,
- 6:02Speaker 6: players are making so much money that they can spend
- 6:07Speaker 6: it to keep themselves in shape, but they still have
- 6:09Speaker 6: to do it. You're not taking a magic pill in
- 6:12Speaker 6: the offseason and getting ready for the season. You got
- 6:15Speaker 6: to put the work in, right. And I've always said
- 6:18Speaker 6: players retire not because now it could be different in
- 6:21Speaker 6: baseball and basketball and hockey because they are longer seasons.
- 6:25Speaker 6: But normally players don't retire because they don't want to
- 6:29Speaker 6: play the regular season anymore. Sure, they don't want to
- 6:32Speaker 6: put in the work in the offseason for football from
- 6:34Speaker 6: February to August. Guys just don't want to put in
- 6:38Speaker 6: that work that you know you have to to be
- 6:39Speaker 6: ready to play.
- 6:41Speaker 4: And it's the same for all athletes.
- 6:42Speaker 6: It's the off season when nobody's watching, when you got
- 6:45Speaker 6: to put that work in.
- 6:47Speaker 4: So Kuro's to.
- 6:48Speaker 6: Him, the shape he's in, the way he's playing that
- 6:51Speaker 6: he's still on the tip of everybody's tongue on where
- 6:54Speaker 6: he's going to play. And let me tell you the
- 6:57Speaker 6: I think the and I'm stealing this line and I
- 7:00Speaker 6: forgot who if they get together in Golden State, Steph Curry,
- 7:05Speaker 6: Draymond Green, Lebron and they trade for Anthony Davis, the
- 7:10Speaker 6: only thing stopping them is arthritis.
- 7:13Speaker 4: That would really be it, and that could become a.
- 7:15Speaker 2: Factor, right, Mike, It's so interesting because you're right, it's
- 7:20Speaker 2: a tribute.
- 7:21Speaker 3: Lebron deserves the credit here.
- 7:23Speaker 2: At the age of forty one, he averaged nearly twenty
- 7:26Speaker 2: two point six.
- 7:26Speaker 3: Rebounds five assaists.
- 7:28Speaker 2: And by the way, of the three guys on the
- 7:31Speaker 2: Lakers last year, the three main guys, only one of
- 7:34Speaker 2: them was healthy in the postseason, and it was a
- 7:37Speaker 2: forty one year old Lebron Jams.
- 7:39Speaker 6: Yes, it's amazing again the shape he keeps himself in.
- 7:43Speaker 6: Now when he does get nicked up, sometimes it lasts
- 7:45Speaker 6: a little longer, or you got to take care of
- 7:47Speaker 6: it a little more. And by the way, kudos to
- 7:50Speaker 6: Austin Reeves for getting paid because he's certainly one of
- 7:54Speaker 6: how about him. One of only two undrafted players to
- 7:57Speaker 6: have over one hundred million dollar contract. He has the
- 8:01Speaker 6: biggest contract for an undrafted player and deservedly so. Yes, personally,
- 8:05Speaker 6: I would love to see Lebron go back to Cleveland.
- 8:08Speaker 6: Being from Cleveland and him being, you know, from the
- 8:11Speaker 6: acronatic Cleveland area. I think that would be awesome because
- 8:15Speaker 6: they're a really good team. Yes, as well, by the way,
- 8:18Speaker 6: you know, to fight for the Eastern Conference title.
- 8:20Speaker 2: So here's what's interesting about this. Lebron is willing, according
- 8:24Speaker 2: to sources, to Shams, he is willing to play for
- 8:27Speaker 2: the minimum I mean, which is absolutely I'm certain Mike,
- 8:30Speaker 2: this is going to take a while. He's going to
- 8:31Speaker 2: see what other teams do, how they fill out their roster.
- 8:34Speaker 2: But if Lebron James, if that guy is willing, Mike,
- 8:37Speaker 2: it could be anywhere, for all we do, and you
- 8:39Speaker 2: never know what Lebron is thinking.
- 8:40Speaker 3: It could be Oklahoma City.
- 8:42Speaker 2: For all we know. He loves San Pristi. But this
- 8:44Speaker 2: is going to be interesting, and it's not gonna happen soon.
- 8:46Speaker 2: He's going to take his time and he should.
- 8:48Speaker 6: We do know that it will be for a high
- 8:51Speaker 6: contending team. Because really that's the only reason he's seeing
- 8:55Speaker 6: in this right is to win an win another championship.
- 8:58Speaker 6: And by the way, how well did he play? He
- 9:01Speaker 6: did it a day after Bronnie his son's contract got guaranteed.
- 9:05Speaker 6: Yes that he that he made his announcement and his move.
- 9:09Speaker 6: But but but yeah, I mean, any any contending team
- 9:14Speaker 6: is going to go after him knowing it's not going
- 9:16Speaker 6: to be a hard money hit because I had heard
- 9:18Speaker 6: reports earlier that he wasn't going to go you know,
- 9:22Speaker 6: wasn't going to take a pay cut. But I think
- 9:25Speaker 6: he's I think he's smart enough to read the room
- 9:28Speaker 6: and say that this this is the option that he's
- 9:30Speaker 6: going to have, and he's going to have a fair
- 9:32Speaker 6: amount of options. It is going to because you're right,
- 9:35Speaker 6: he's going to take his time to see how the
- 9:37Speaker 6: team fills out as as players just are.
- 9:40Speaker 4: This is like NFL free.
- 9:41Speaker 6: Agency for NBA free agency today, just announcement after announcement
- 9:46Speaker 6: of how teams are reshaping themselves.
- 9:49Speaker 2: It's interesting because a lot of people think, like yourself,
- 9:51Speaker 2: you said, Cleveland, A lot of people are speculating maybe
- 9:54Speaker 2: it's the heat. A lot of people are talking about
- 9:57Speaker 2: Golden State. They would need to stay healthy. I think
- 9:59Speaker 2: the Anthony Davis window is kind of closing, meaning yeah,
- 10:02Speaker 2: I don't think they're gonna end up trading him, but Lebron.
- 10:05Speaker 2: So it's interesting because you know this about him, He's
- 10:07Speaker 2: very calculated. When Lebron hears three teams and everyone's saying,
- 10:11Speaker 2: with one hundred percent certainty, it's gonna be one of
- 10:13Speaker 2: those teams, he starts thinking about teams like the Celtics
- 10:16Speaker 2: and like, so, I'm not gonna be surprised if he
- 10:18Speaker 2: ends up. Lebron will end it how he wants to
- 10:20Speaker 2: end it. And if it's in Boston, and he's the
- 10:23Speaker 2: guy that men's fences with Jason Tatum and Jalen Brown,
- 10:26Speaker 2: so be it. It gives him the best chance of
- 10:28Speaker 2: winning a title, right.
- 10:29Speaker 4: That would be something to get into that mix.
- 10:32Speaker 6: Again, if Jalen Brown isn't traded, right that that that
- 10:36Speaker 6: would be something. You're right, I mean, it could be
- 10:38Speaker 6: any number of tenny. I mean, I've heard the Knicks. Yes,
- 10:42Speaker 6: what would would the Knicks mess with their chemistry being
- 10:46Speaker 6: the defending NBA champs? I mean, I know, y'all a
- 10:49Speaker 6: team changes every year to a point, yeah, but you
- 10:53Speaker 6: do do you mess with that.
- 10:55Speaker 4: I don't know how serious that is.
- 10:56Speaker 6: But that's the one thing that's gonna be great is
- 10:58Speaker 6: there's gonna be rumors everyone.
- 11:00Speaker 2: I think all teams are in play. I think Lebron's
- 11:03Speaker 2: chasing rings, He's chasing Jordan. Now, I can tell you,
- 11:05Speaker 2: if Taylor ran the Knicks, he would tell Lebron to
- 11:07Speaker 2: get the hell out of here. But luckily Taylor is
- 11:09Speaker 2: not running the Knicks. I would gladly take Lebron James.
- 11:12Speaker 2: That would be great. Yeah, it just be yeah. I
- 11:15Speaker 2: mean again, I mean he's an asset.
- 11:18Speaker 6: Yeah, he's not the number one guy you build a
- 11:22Speaker 6: team around, but hell, he is an incredible asset. Again, yes,
- 11:26Speaker 6: to just just tip your cap to his athletic ability
- 11:31Speaker 6: is incredible.
- 11:32Speaker 2: The idea at the age of forty one, that he'll
- 11:34Speaker 2: have twelve to fifteen teams that we're willing to reshape.
- 11:36Speaker 3: Their entire roster to bring in Lebron James, it's incredible, Mike,
- 11:42Speaker 3: I'm serious, I'm with you. It's a tribute to them.
- 11:44Speaker 4: It is amazing.
- 11:45Speaker 6: Now, also part of that is the fact that he
- 11:48Speaker 6: is not going to demand an incredibly high salary to
- 11:51Speaker 6: handcuff a team yes, So it's it's really the best
- 11:55Speaker 6: of both worlds right now for teams going after him.
- 11:58Speaker 2: Taylor thinks to Kawhi would back to Toronto because he's
- 12:01Speaker 2: trying to avoid the law here in the United States.
- 12:03Speaker 3: What did you with his contract stuff?
- 12:06Speaker 2: What did you make of of Kawhi going back to
- 12:09Speaker 2: Toronto where he won a NBA title, one of his
- 12:11Speaker 2: two NBA titles.
- 12:13Speaker 4: Yeah, is there is.
- 12:14Speaker 6: There extradition from from Canada back to the back to
- 12:19Speaker 6: the States.
- 12:20Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 12:22Speaker 6: Listen, he thinks he can win a title there. The
- 12:24Speaker 6: issue with Kawhi Listen, when he's on the court, he's great. Yes,
- 12:27Speaker 6: and they're building something really well obviously in Toronto because
- 12:31Speaker 6: the Eastern Conference I still think is pretty open. Right
- 12:34Speaker 6: We don't know if Jalen Brown will be back on Boston.
- 12:37Speaker 6: We don't know about that team. Tyrese Haliburton coming back
- 12:40Speaker 6: from the injury. We thought Orlando, you know, are they
- 12:43Speaker 6: are they going to take another step? We thought they
- 12:45Speaker 6: would maybe be more in the mix this year. In Milwaukee,
- 12:49Speaker 6: they're going to be down obviously without Yannis. You have
- 12:51Speaker 6: the Knicks, the heat now, so it's it's definitely open.
- 12:58Speaker 6: The problem with Kawhi is staying on the court, right,
- 13:01Speaker 6: of course. I mean he with his age, he gets
- 13:03Speaker 6: snicked like anybody at that as, you get nicked and
- 13:06Speaker 6: you have to really kind of kind of protect it
- 13:09Speaker 6: and protect that player if you're going to try and.
- 13:11Speaker 4: Make a run.
- 13:11Speaker 6: So that's what anybody that's over thirty five, thirty six,
- 13:15Speaker 6: thirty seven, you know, you you kind of cross your
- 13:18Speaker 6: fingers when they're playing that they don't get nicked up.
- 13:20Speaker 2: Yeah, I just I'm just reading now that Mike Conley
- 13:23Speaker 2: is going to the Celtics, which is I only bring
- 13:25Speaker 2: that up because he's the fourth player ever to reach
- 13:27Speaker 2: twenty years in the NBA or fourteen.
- 13:30Speaker 3: That amazing, yes, fourteenth, Yes, that that is.
- 13:34Speaker 4: That is absolutely amazing.
- 13:35Speaker 2: Yes, awesome, awesome, Mean remember remember when he was the
- 13:38Speaker 2: highest paid player in the NBA, like a hot second.
- 13:42Speaker 3: Yeah, it wasn't.
- 13:44Speaker 2: Time was short. Yeah, well yeah, he's been around for
- 13:47Speaker 2: so long. There was a time where Mike Conley.
- 13:49Speaker 6: Yes, and then speaking of we're all talking about the
- 13:53Speaker 6: positive moves, how about the downfall of John Morant? I mean,
- 13:57Speaker 6: yes to not even I mean trade up players and
- 14:01Speaker 6: not have number one picks attached to a trade with
- 14:03Speaker 6: him where a couple of years ago it would have
- 14:05Speaker 6: been for multiple number ones. Now wow, what a what
- 14:10Speaker 6: a detour his career is taken.
- 14:11Speaker 3: Yep, Stewgott's here.

- 16:00Speaker 6: I said, okay, fine by me, because that's a little
- 16:03Speaker 6: more time off to you know, to possibly No, if
- 16:07Speaker 6: I go to the Kelsey and Taylor Swift wedding, that
- 16:09Speaker 6: would be crashing. I'd be crashing the wedding and with
- 16:12Speaker 6: a thousand with a thousand people expected for the party afterward. Yes,
- 16:17Speaker 6: I feel I could slip in somehow someway.
- 16:22Speaker 3: You can't slip into Madison Square Garden. Mike, you can't
- 16:25Speaker 3: do it.
- 16:25Speaker 4: There's levels a thousand people. That's a lot.
- 16:29Speaker 6: I mean, uh, just to hear the new announcement of
- 16:33Speaker 6: Travis and Taylor Kelsey, you know when they mentioned that
- 16:37Speaker 6: for the first time. Because I'm sure she'll take his.
- 16:39Speaker 5: Name, you think it'll be easier to get into the
- 16:43Speaker 5: wedding than it was when Trump was at the game
- 16:46Speaker 5: three of the NBA Finals.
- 16:48Speaker 6: Let me let me tell you. And it wasn't even
- 16:51Speaker 6: the president. When I had to call a game in
- 16:53Speaker 6: Philadelphia when Joe Biden was a president, his wife Jill,
- 16:58Speaker 6: one of the first Lady, went to the game. Yes,
- 17:01Speaker 6: and it took us an extra two hours to get there.
- 17:04Speaker 6: I mean, listen, it's their right. It's the president's the
- 17:07Speaker 6: first lady, whoever, it's their right to want to go
- 17:09Speaker 6: to a game.
- 17:10Speaker 4: I get it.
- 17:11Speaker 6: But boyle boy, the havoc itt reeks. And I'm not
- 17:14Speaker 6: getting political. I don't care what side of the aisle
- 17:17Speaker 6: you're on. All I know is when a high ranking
- 17:19Speaker 6: politician wants to go to a game, it creates havoc.
- 17:23Speaker 5: Yes, yeah, but how many number one hits did she have?
- 17:26Speaker 4: So I mean it's probably gonna be harder.
- 17:28Speaker 3: To get It's gonna be more difficult to get in.
- 17:30Speaker 4: Yes, it's gonna gonna be tough.
- 17:32Speaker 6: I'm still Amazer having it an MSGI, I really am.
- 17:36Speaker 6: I thought that was just all the rumors out there
- 17:39Speaker 6: of where they're going to have it. I thought it
- 17:40Speaker 6: was trying to throw people off the scent. But boyl boy, listen,
- 17:44Speaker 6: when you have all the money in the world, you
- 17:46Speaker 6: can have it wherever you want and dress it up
- 17:49Speaker 6: however you want.
- 17:49Speaker 3: Yeap, how do you feel about a twelve hour reception?
- 17:52Speaker 2: There's gonna be for the thousand people coming in, there's
- 17:55Speaker 2: gonna they're gonna be there for twelve hours.
- 17:57Speaker 3: If they want to be there for twelve hours, I mean.
- 17:59Speaker 6: Well, well again, you can say twelve hours. I'm there
- 18:02Speaker 6: for two an hours.
- 18:04Speaker 4: Right, I'm just done.
- 18:06Speaker 6: I'm doing the meal, I'm getting some drinks, and I'm
- 18:09Speaker 6: getting some of the cutcake and that's it.
- 18:12Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 18:13Speaker 4: Hey, do we think do we think like the traditional
- 18:15Speaker 4: way Taylor's parents are paying for the wedding?
- 18:22Speaker 3: Mike Yey put it on the poll.
- 18:23Speaker 2: When Travis Kelcey comes out and plays football next season,
- 18:26Speaker 2: will it be Kelsey or Swift on the back of his.
- 18:29Speaker 5: Jersey, Oh number thirteen.
- 18:32Speaker 3: And he should go swift. It would be great away
- 18:37Speaker 3: from He's swift.
- 18:40Speaker 5: Speaking speaking of traditional Mike, I'm wondering, like cause I
- 18:44Speaker 5: just celebrated my wedding anniversary this last weekend and we
- 18:48Speaker 5: were talking about all the times thank you we were
- 18:51Speaker 5: talking about, you know, leading up to the wedding, and
- 18:53Speaker 5: how we were check out this venue. In this venue,
- 18:55Speaker 5: do you think they went around the country checking out
- 18:58Speaker 5: major arenas, Like do you think it went to TD
- 19:00Speaker 5: Garden in Boston? And like, you know, I like it,
- 19:02Speaker 5: but it just feels like a wedding factory. Let's go
- 19:05Speaker 5: back to MSG and see how that works.
- 19:07Speaker 4: Just imagine having a quarter of that money. The world
- 19:13Speaker 4: is yours. You can check out any place that you like, and.
- 19:16Speaker 6: Not just having all the money in the world, but
- 19:19Speaker 6: being as who's saying no to her, she can have
- 19:22Speaker 6: it wherever she wants, and nobody is saying no, or
- 19:26Speaker 6: I would be stunned. I'd like to know who would
- 19:28Speaker 6: be saying no. Just to have that carte blanche everywhere
- 19:31Speaker 6: is amazing.
- 19:32Speaker 2: Don't you guys think once you decide it's going to
- 19:34Speaker 2: be inside of an arena you just go to the mecca.
- 19:37Speaker 3: That's it.
- 19:37Speaker 2: Well, I go anywhere else. Like, I don't think they
- 19:39Speaker 2: looked at TD Garden. I don't think they looked in
- 19:41Speaker 2: LA I just like it's the world's most famous arena.
- 19:44Speaker 6: Should get famous, Yes, yeah, I mean world most famous entertainer.
- 19:49Speaker 4: Why not go to the world's most famous arena, right.
- 19:51Speaker 3: I mean I'm testing out Barkley's I mean.
- 19:57Speaker 5: Mom, dad, I just want to get married in the garden.
- 19:59Speaker 5: Oh right, no, no, no, all those crazy kids. I
- 20:07Speaker 5: thought they would just have a little courthouse wedding.
- 20:09Speaker 2: Yes, two hours, man, that is way too long for
- 20:12Speaker 2: you to be staying at a wedding.
- 20:13Speaker 3: I know you better than that.
- 20:16Speaker 6: Yeah again, yes, I got to take advantage of the food.
- 20:19Speaker 6: And what's going to be interesting is how they space
- 20:23Speaker 6: everything out. That to me it was always was all
- 20:26Speaker 6: because at my kids weddings. Man, we obviously you serve
- 20:30Speaker 6: the food, but you do the cake cutting early, you
- 20:32Speaker 6: get all that, the speeches out of the way, you
- 20:35Speaker 6: get them.
- 20:36Speaker 4: All out of the way early, so you can just party. Then.
- 20:39Speaker 4: That's what I hope they don't stretch things out.
- 20:42Speaker 3: Well.
- 20:42Speaker 2: The good news is they have plenty of space, so yes,
- 20:46Speaker 2: Mike just quickly two things on the way out here.
- 20:49Speaker 2: It was so cool, at least for me. I know
- 20:51Speaker 2: she lost the match, but to see Serena come back
- 20:54Speaker 2: play in that match, be competitive in that match, but
- 20:56Speaker 2: the most important thing for me, and I'm certain you
- 20:59Speaker 2: agree with this as someone who has watched their son
- 21:02Speaker 2: play at Notre Dame, the ability for her daughter to
- 21:06Speaker 2: see how beloved she is and how great she is
- 21:09Speaker 2: at what it is she does, the thing that defines
- 21:11Speaker 2: her was a very cool moment. It's like Tiger at
- 21:14Speaker 2: the Masters, whereas kids finally got to see how great
- 21:16Speaker 2: he was, you know, to be.
- 21:18Speaker 6: Able to be able to and my kid, Mike Sidney
- 21:22Speaker 6: wasn't born yet. Mike and Jake were I think four
- 21:24Speaker 6: and three when I was done when the league retired me,
- 21:31Speaker 6: and I was a little bummed at that. I mean
- 21:33Speaker 6: they kind of knew what was happening, but not really,
- 21:36Speaker 6: you know, at four and three. So I think anybody
- 21:39Speaker 6: that's around long enough for that to be part of it,
- 21:44Speaker 6: I think is so cool to have your kids actually
- 21:48Speaker 6: and really understand what's going on. I think that is
- 21:52Speaker 6: so cool. But hey, congrats to the young lady Joint
- 21:57Speaker 6: who beat who beat her. I mean, for a twenty
- 22:00Speaker 6: year old to make it through the magnitude of that moment.
- 22:05Speaker 6: Every single eye she was on center in center court.
- 22:09Speaker 6: Every single eye was on Serena how she would come back,
- 22:12Speaker 6: and she was because when she lost that second set,
- 22:15Speaker 6: I thought, oh, Serena figured this out and she's gonna
- 22:18Speaker 6: run through the third set. So for her to to
- 22:22Speaker 6: not only keep her composure but win that kudos to her.
- 22:25Speaker 6: But yeah, the Serena thing I I I think was uh,
- 22:28Speaker 6: I think it was just awesome.
- 22:30Speaker 3: Yeap uh it is.
- 22:31Speaker 2: It was amazing by joint, Like not a single person
- 22:34Speaker 2: there wanted her to win. I think she said afterwards,
- 22:36Speaker 2: I'm not certain I even wanted to win. Yeah, because
- 22:41Speaker 2: the story was so good and so rich, but she
- 22:42Speaker 2: got it done real quick. Here, Mike, USA Soccer, you're
- 22:45Speaker 2: glued to it today. You're glued right?
- 22:47Speaker 6: Oh yeah, yeah, definitely. I know we're we're favor but
- 22:50Speaker 6: that that really doesn't mean mean a whole lot. Yeah,
- 22:52Speaker 6: but yeah, listen, all you can do is play. You're
- 22:55Speaker 6: supposed to play, and they've looked really good for a
- 22:59Speaker 6: a U, A team that is pretty much not live.
- 23:04Speaker 6: I shouldn't say not lived up because the expectations were
- 23:07Speaker 6: never very high, right, yes, and and again the reason
- 23:11Speaker 6: they qualified for this year's tournament is because the games
- 23:13Speaker 6: were in the United States. So now the expectation was
- 23:18Speaker 6: they were were going to get out of the first
- 23:19Speaker 6: round and into the knockout stage. So now I think
- 23:23Speaker 6: everything is gravy gravy, and again they're favored, So let's
- 23:26Speaker 6: let's see how far they can go.
- 23:28Speaker 2: Mike, you have to love US soccer fans who feel
- 23:30Speaker 2: like it's their game now because we're hosting it.
- 23:32Speaker 3: They want it every year. They want to change every.
- 23:34Speaker 2: Rule and every year they want to be They wanted
- 23:37Speaker 2: to be in the United States of America.
- 23:38Speaker 3: I mean that's us, right.
- 23:40Speaker 6: Yeah, listen, and we know that's not going to happen.
- 23:42Speaker 6: We know it's the most popular sport in the world,
- 23:44Speaker 6: but it's it's way more popular as we know, outside
- 23:47Speaker 6: of the United States.
- 23:48Speaker 4: Not to say it's not cool.
- 23:49Speaker 6: I've loved how the visiting UH fans from the other
- 23:54Speaker 6: teams have jumped into the other sports for Victor, for
- 23:58Speaker 6: Victor hovelin at the golf at baseball games they've been
- 24:02Speaker 6: going to UH. The Scottish group has just wiped out
- 24:08Speaker 6: all the beer in Boston. I mean they're out drinking Bostonians,
- 24:11Speaker 6: which is unbelievable. So I mean they're they're they're having
- 24:15Speaker 6: their fun. I was in Boston visiting the grandkids, and
- 24:19Speaker 6: France rented out, not rented out, bought out the.
- 24:23Speaker 4: Four seasons yep, for a month. I mean, my.
- 24:27Speaker 3: God, surprised Kelsey's didn't do that.
- 24:33Speaker 2: They could listen what you're trying to say, and I
- 24:37Speaker 2: agree with you.
- 24:38Speaker 3: They're better sports fans were spoiled. We're entitled.
- 24:41Speaker 2: They love going to games, they love going to golf matches,
- 24:44Speaker 2: they love drinking our beer.
- 24:46Speaker 3: They love sports more than we do. How about that?
- 24:49Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 24:50Speaker 6: I mean, and and you see the celebrations when when
- 24:55Speaker 6: they show the other countries of the people who didn't
- 24:58Speaker 6: make it over and the celebrations when their teams win.
- 25:01Speaker 4: And we had.
- 25:01Speaker 6: Shootouts, right, you know, the first shootouts, A couple of shootouts. Yes,
- 25:05Speaker 6: we've had late goals. It's and I'm not gonna lie.
- 25:09Speaker 6: I'm a very casuals soccer fan. I don't watch a
- 25:11Speaker 6: lot of it, but I do watch the World Cup
- 25:14Speaker 6: and I'm really locked into really all the matches. So
- 25:17Speaker 6: it's been a lot of fun to watch.
- 25:19Speaker 3: So real quick.
- 25:19Speaker 2: Do you think it will translate into more people? I
- 25:22Speaker 2: have no doubt it. We'll have an impact on soccer
- 25:24Speaker 2: in the United States, especially at the youth level, but
- 25:26Speaker 2: in terms of fandom, I feel like when this is over,
- 25:29Speaker 2: regardless of the outcome, even if we win the entire
- 25:32Speaker 2: thing in a month, we're all headed back to the NFL.
- 25:34Speaker 3: We'll forget this sport even exists. Is that fair?
- 25:36Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 25:36Speaker 6: Listen, it's down the list on most popular sports in
- 25:39Speaker 6: the United States, not the world, but the United States.
- 25:43Speaker 6: So you're right, you'll get the initial bump. Maybe youth
- 25:46Speaker 6: soccer will pick up some, but still the issue is
- 25:49Speaker 6: in youth soccer, when the better athletes and better players
- 25:52Speaker 6: get older, they go to another sport, right right. That's
- 25:55Speaker 6: been the whole fight of US soccer is to try
- 25:59Speaker 6: and keep those plays in soccer. And it just it's
- 26:02Speaker 6: gotten better since Stu, you and I started doing radio
- 26:06Speaker 6: a couple of decades ago. It's gotten better, but it's
- 26:09Speaker 6: still unfortunately nowhere near where the rest of the world is.
- 26:12Speaker 2: Yep, and here we are still doing it. Mike, everyone
- 26:14Speaker 2: else doing other thing. We love radio all right, he
- 26:18Speaker 2: is He's back at ESPN. In a month, he gets
- 26:20Speaker 2: a month off. We're proud of him. Ten to twelve
- 26:23Speaker 2: with his son, Mike golt Junior. We love you guys.
- 26:26Speaker 2: We're happy for you guys. Hopefully you'll still be allowed
- 26:28Speaker 2: to come on here every now and again.
- 26:30Speaker 4: Yes, definitely, definitely a right.
- 26:32Speaker 2: We appreciate that. I know I won't be allowed to
- 26:34Speaker 2: go on with you though, so we'll talk.
- 26:39Speaker 4: Well, you'll have to get through my bruiser, Mike Ya, So.
- 26:44Speaker 3: Devin's the easy one.
- 26:45Speaker 2: It's mike Ya right, all right, thanks Mike, congratulations right
