- Najah: I don't know who needs to hear this, but the less I hear from you, the less I want to hear from you. Out of sight, out of mind is a real thing. And if you're supposedly trying to get to know somebody, but you're not showing up consistently, what exactly are you doing? People don't make space in their lives for people who occasionally show up. Life's already moving. if I only hear from you every few days, every week, or whenever it's convenient for you, why would I believe you're actually interested in getting to know me? interest looks like effort. Interest looks like consistency. Interest looks like presence Because relationships don't grow in silence. Connection requires contact. And now let me be clear. This isn't about entitlement. And it definitely isn't about being needy. See the people who already have space in my life. The people I've already built relationships with. Baby, we can go days, weeks, sometimes longer and pick right back up where we left off. Because the foundation is already there. The connection has already been built. I'm talking about people who are new. The people who are saying they're trying to get to know me. Because if we're still in the getting to know each other phase and I barely hear from you, you're not giving me a reason to keep investing my time, energy, or attention. And mind you I'm reaching out too. And by the time you decide to reach out again, I'm probably not in a rush to respond. Not because I'm playing a game. And not because I'm mad. But because you're still a stranger. And strangers don't automatically get space in my life. That space has to be created. Eventually when your name pops up. It doesn't spark curiosity anymore. It actually feels like an interruption. And consistency doesn't guarantee a connection. but inconsistency almost guarantees you won't build one.
