- 0:09Speaker 1: to the world, this is Verse by Verse, studying God's
- 0:13Speaker 1: Word one verse at a time. Now let's tap in
- 0:16Speaker 1: with your host, Mr.
- 0:17Speaker 2: His Hop. Yo, yo, what up, what up, what up?
- 0:31Speaker 3: What's up, family? Hey, welcome to another episode of the
- 1:00Speaker 3: His Hop Radio Podcast. I'm your brother, Mr. His Hop.
- 1:05Speaker 3: On this podcast, like you heard a second ago, we
- 1:08Speaker 3: love to go verse by verse, chapter by chapter, through
- 1:13Speaker 3: the Word of God. And today we're going to continue
- 1:15Speaker 3: through the book of Jeremiah. So meet us in chapter 22,
- 1:19Speaker 3: and we're going to cover verses 11 through 17. This passage.
- 1:29Speaker 3: I'm sorry, it's early in the morning for me. So
- 1:31Speaker 3: let me get my mouth working here. This passage gives
- 1:35Speaker 3: us a direct look at two different kings and two
- 1:40Speaker 3: very different kinds of leadership. That's what I was trying
- 1:44Speaker 3: to say. So God is going to speak about another king.
- 1:52Speaker 3: And also he's going to talk about Doing the right
- 1:57Speaker 3: thing versus doing the wrong thing. Amen. So this morning,
- 2:03Speaker 3: what we want y'all to do. We want y'all to
- 2:10Speaker 3: grab your Bibles, your notepads and your highlighters. And also
- 2:14Speaker 3: we want y'all to meet us in a live chat
- 2:16Speaker 3: and in our community. These are two different places on
- 2:22Speaker 3: the His Hot Radio app. So download his hop radio,
- 2:26Speaker 3: H I S H O P on all platforms. And
- 2:30Speaker 3: on the homepage, go to the top left menu. It's
- 2:33Speaker 3: like a little hamburger menu. You can drop it down.
- 2:37Speaker 3: First place you go to is live chat and is
- 2:40Speaker 3: real quick to register. Click that register button, type in
- 2:44Speaker 3: a username and email address. You don't even have to
- 2:47Speaker 3: verify it. And you are a part of the family
- 2:51Speaker 3: once you log in there. So when you do, Give
- 2:54Speaker 3: us a shout out, show us some love and we
- 2:56Speaker 3: will show you some love right back. And then in
- 3:01Speaker 3: the same place, go to that menu, but scroll down
- 3:04Speaker 3: a little further and click on community. And that is
- 3:10Speaker 3: like our social media group right there. We can do
- 3:14Speaker 3: a little more in that section than we can in
- 3:17Speaker 3: the live chat. In the live chat, we can talk
- 3:20Speaker 3: to each other real time. It's instant chat. But in
- 3:24Speaker 3: the community, we can still talk to each other, but
- 3:27Speaker 3: we can post links. We can upload pictures, articles. We
- 3:31Speaker 3: can do a little more. And so we can dive
- 3:34Speaker 3: deeper into the podcast, our Bible studies, scriptures. We can
- 3:38Speaker 3: request prayer. And one thing we do on this podcast
- 3:42Speaker 3: is we hold each other accountable because we understand that
- 3:47Speaker 3: Jesus himself said that the road to life is narrow
- 3:50Speaker 3: and there are only a few that find it. And
- 3:53Speaker 3: I believe those who find it are those who are
- 3:56Speaker 3: honest with themselves, honest about life and allow people in
- 4:00Speaker 3: our lives that can correct them, that can keep them
- 4:03Speaker 3: on the right path because our hearts will deceive us. Beloved,
- 4:07Speaker 3: the Bible says, lean not to your own understanding. And
- 4:11Speaker 3: so we have to use the word of God as
- 4:13Speaker 3: a map, as a lamp to our feet and a
- 4:17Speaker 3: light to our path. And sometimes it's good. Not sometimes.
- 4:21Speaker 3: It is good. Always have a brother or sister that
- 4:24Speaker 3: can pray with you and you can share your heart.
- 4:27Speaker 3: This is what I'm dealing with. This is what I'm
- 4:29Speaker 3: going through. And then you can be like, you know what?
- 4:37Speaker 3: That is not the will of God. That is not
- 4:39Speaker 3: in God's word. So that's what we do here on
- 4:43Speaker 3: the podcast. So get logged into our online community. Help
- 4:47Speaker 3: us build it up. Like, share, subscribe, do all that
- 4:50Speaker 3: good stuff. Tell your family members, your friends, especially the
- 4:57Speaker 3: youth and the young adults, tell them to get logged
- 4:59Speaker 3: in to the online community. Basically, what it is, is discipleship.
- 5:03Speaker 3: Jesus says, go throughout the whole world and make disciples.
- 5:09Speaker 4: Amen.
- 5:09Speaker 3: So this is a way that we could reach people
- 5:12Speaker 3: throughout the whole world. and to make disciples. And also,
- 5:17Speaker 3: we do have a podcast on YouTube. Check out our
- 5:21Speaker 3: YouTube page. It is called His High Nation. Like, subscribe
- 5:27Speaker 3: over there. If you like the video format of this podcast,
- 5:34Speaker 3: it's different. It's not a Bible study. Check it out.
- 5:39Speaker 3: You'll like it. Let's go ahead and pray. Heavenly Father,
- 5:42Speaker 3: we thank you Father God, for the opportunity, Father God,
- 5:46Speaker 3: once again, to come on this platform. We thank you
- 5:49Speaker 3: for the opportunity to serve you, O God. Give us
- 5:52Speaker 3: wisdom and understanding as we study Jeremiah today. Help us
- 5:56Speaker 3: to understand that you are not impressed by appearance alone.
- 6:02Speaker 3: Teach us to value righteousness over riches, O God. Integrity
- 6:08Speaker 3: over image and serving others over serving ourselves. Search our
- 6:15Speaker 3: hearts and show us anything in our lives that is
- 6:21Speaker 3: motivated by greed, oh God, anything motivated by selfish ambition
- 6:27Speaker 3: or the desire to appear successful. God, help us, Lord,
- 6:33Speaker 3: whether you're giving us And help us, God, oh Lord,
- 6:39Speaker 3: to give you back what you've given us, God, to
- 6:42Speaker 3: honor and to bless you and to bless others, oh God,
- 6:44Speaker 3: in Jesus' name. Amen and amen. All right, well, let's
- 6:52Speaker 3: get into it, beloved. We're going to start off verse
- 7:01Speaker 3: 11 and 12, and I'm coming at you from the
- 7:03Speaker 3: New King James. Like I said, there's two different kings
- 7:09Speaker 3: that are in this passage today. Shalom, if I'm saying
- 7:15Speaker 3: it right, is one king. And Josiah. For thus says
- 7:24Speaker 3: the Lord concerning Shalom, the son of Josiah, king of Judah,
- 7:30Speaker 3: who reigned instead of Josiah, his father. went from this
- 7:38Speaker 3: place he shall not return here anymore but he shall
- 7:45Speaker 3: die in the palace where they have led him captive
- 7:51Speaker 3: and shall see the land no more now that is
- 7:56Speaker 3: very direct and that is very straightforward I tell you
- 8:04Speaker 3: God is not somebody to be trifling with. Amen. If
- 8:08Speaker 3: I was these kings, man, I would have been repenting
- 8:11Speaker 3: all over the place. But God speaks about Shalem, the
- 8:16Speaker 3: son of Josiah. Now he had become king after his father, Josiah,
- 8:24Speaker 3: but his reign would be very, very short. He would
- 8:28Speaker 3: be taken away from the land. It would never return
- 8:32Speaker 3: to Jerusalem. God was showing that being the son of
- 8:38Speaker 3: a righteous king did not guarantee a righteous outcome.
- 8:45Speaker 4: Amen.
- 8:46Speaker 3: God does not have any grandchildren. Now, this is important
- 8:52Speaker 3: because you cannot inherit somebody else's relationship with God. That's
- 8:57Speaker 3: what I mean by that. You have to have your
- 9:00Speaker 3: own relationship. You might have grown up in church. My children,
- 9:05Speaker 3: they grew up in church. Your father may have been
- 9:10Speaker 3: the pastor. Your mother may have been a prayer warrior,
- 9:14Speaker 3: but your grandparents might have been faithful Christians, but you
- 9:21Speaker 3: still have to make your own decisions to follow God.
- 9:25Speaker 3: A godly heritage is a blessing, but it isn't a
- 9:31Speaker 3: substitute for a personal Relationship with God and personal obedience
- 9:38Speaker 3: to God's will. Verse 13 and 14. Woe to him
- 9:47Speaker 3: who builds his house by unrighteousness. In his chambers by injustice.
- 9:58Speaker 3: Who uses his neighbors. services without wages. It gives him
- 10:03Speaker 3: nothing for his work. Now that is powerful. That is good.
- 10:09Speaker 3: I'm going to break that down, but let's get 14
- 10:13Speaker 3: who says, I will build myself a wide house with
- 10:18Speaker 3: spacious rooms, chambers and cut out windows for it paneling
- 10:23Speaker 3: it with cedar and painting it with vermilion right I
- 10:33Speaker 3: don't know if you're like me I love a great
- 10:35Speaker 3: paint job I'm a painter by trade let's go ahead
- 10:45Speaker 3: and break it down now So we see the problem
- 10:51Speaker 3: right here. Jehoiakim wanted a magnificent house. He wanted large
- 11:00Speaker 3: rooms and he wanted cedar. He wanted expensive decoration. He
- 11:07Speaker 3: wanted the appearance of success. Right. I mean, all of
- 11:14Speaker 3: us enjoy luxury. Luxury by itself is not evil or sinful,
- 11:21Speaker 3: but there was a problem with how he was going
- 11:25Speaker 3: to get it, how he was going about to get it.
- 11:29Speaker 3: He was building his house through unrighteousness. He was benefiting
- 11:36Speaker 3: from the labors of others without properly paying them. Now,
- 11:42Speaker 3: how many times have we seen that happen? People lowball
- 11:49Speaker 3: or even get free services or even con artists. They
- 11:53Speaker 3: know how to rip people off. The Bible speaks of
- 11:59Speaker 3: extortion or exploitation. God says woe to him. In other words,
- 12:09Speaker 3: God sees how you obtain what you have. It isn't
- 12:14Speaker 3: just about the finished product. God cares about the process.
- 12:20Speaker 3: How did you get what you got? Now, this is
- 12:28Speaker 3: a word for anybody who's chasing success. It's easy to
- 12:31Speaker 3: look at somebody's house, car, business, clothing, look at their platform,
- 12:38Speaker 3: their bank account and say, man, they are doing well.
- 12:42Speaker 3: But God sees what people cannot see. God sees the contract.
- 12:48Speaker 3: He sees the deal. He sees the employees who have
- 12:55Speaker 3: not been paid or paid fairly. He sees a person
- 12:59Speaker 3: who was taken advantage of and God sees manipulation, the
- 13:06Speaker 3: dishonest business practices. God sees exploitation. God doesn't just inspect
- 13:14Speaker 3: the house. He inspects how the house was built. Amen.
- 13:21Speaker 3: God cares more about character than success. So this is
- 13:29Speaker 3: very powerful because we live in a culture where success
- 13:33Speaker 3: can make people stop asking questions. If somebody is wealthy,
- 13:39Speaker 3: people assume that they're wise. If somebody has a huge platform,
- 13:45Speaker 3: people assume that they're legitimate. If somebody has influence, people
- 13:51Speaker 3: assume God must have blessed everything that they're doing. God
- 13:59Speaker 3: must be blessed in everything that they're doing. But Jeremiah
- 14:01Speaker 3: 22 tells us, don't make that assumption. Don't just assume
- 14:09Speaker 3: it that God has approved and God is blessing people
- 14:14Speaker 3: because they seem to be successful outwardly. The devil can
- 14:19Speaker 3: bless people as well. Now, verse 13 specifically addresses someone
- 14:28Speaker 3: using another person's labor without giving them wages. Now, that
- 14:35Speaker 3: principle matters. People are not tools. Employees are not disposable.
- 14:42Speaker 3: Contracts are not like machines. Right. Volunteers shouldn't be manipulated.
- 14:54Speaker 3: Contractors should not be manipulated. People who work. deserve to
- 15:01Speaker 3: be treated with dignity and fairness. And this is essentially,
- 15:05Speaker 3: especially important for Christians, right? If you have a Christian
- 15:11Speaker 3: business or organization, if we're representing Jesus, our business practices
- 15:17Speaker 3: should reflect Jesus. And it's sad to see how crooked
- 15:25Speaker 3: some churches are when it comes to business practices. Some pastors.
- 15:30Speaker 3: I mean, we know, you know, there's been mismanagement of
- 15:35Speaker 3: money in a lot of churches and a lot of organizations.
- 15:40Speaker 3: And also. I just saw a video on social media,
- 15:44Speaker 3: this woman coming out talking about how women are compromising
- 15:50Speaker 3: their bodies for a social media platform to represent certain brands.
- 16:00Speaker 3: on social media. Now, I heard about this in the
- 16:03Speaker 3: music business, how people would compromise their bodies, sell their bodies,
- 16:10Speaker 3: if you know what I'm saying, or even in the
- 16:13Speaker 3: entertainment business. These actors, a lot of people have had
- 16:18Speaker 3: to sell their souls, but now they're even doing this
- 16:21Speaker 3: on social media just to be an influencer, just so
- 16:26Speaker 3: you can have somebody's brand On your platform, you have
- 16:30Speaker 3: to go this route like, man, darkness is really trying
- 16:34Speaker 3: to swallow up our nation. We don't have to compromise
- 16:41Speaker 3: to be successful. Amen. Do not allow the enemy to
- 16:47Speaker 3: manipulate you or to manipulate us just so that we
- 16:52Speaker 3: could say that we appear to be successful. Amen. Now,
- 17:07Speaker 3: check this out. Jehoiakim wanted a nice house, right? He
- 17:13Speaker 3: wanted wide rooms, large chambers, windows, cedar. He wanted expensive decoration.
- 17:20Speaker 3: He wanted some nice paint on the walls. And there's
- 17:24Speaker 3: nothing inherently wrong with having a nice home. But the
- 17:30Speaker 3: problem was the unrighteousness behind it. Now, that's a very
- 17:36Speaker 3: important distinction. God isn't teaching that having possessions automatically makes
- 17:43Speaker 3: somebody sinful. He is exposing greed, exploitation, and self-ambition. It
- 17:53Speaker 3: matters how you got that success.
- 17:59Speaker 4: Amen.
- 18:00Speaker 3: Verse 15. Shall you reign because you enclose yourself in cedar?
- 18:07Speaker 3: Did not your father eat and drink and do justice
- 18:10Speaker 3: and righteousness? Then it was well with him.
- 18:14Speaker 4: Amen.
- 18:22Speaker 3: So he had a righteous father. He had a godly father.
- 18:25Speaker 3: And so these questions are powerful. how many of us
- 18:33Speaker 3: have had a parent or family member that was awesome, successful,
- 18:40Speaker 3: and had integrity, a great example in front of us,
- 18:45Speaker 3: but we failed to follow these good example. So God
- 18:51Speaker 3: is asking the question, do you think you're a king
- 18:54Speaker 3: because you live in luxury? That is a powerful question.
- 19:00Speaker 3: Jehoiakim seemed to associate greatness with his possessions but God
- 19:09Speaker 3: reminds him of his father Josiah also ate also drank
- 19:21Speaker 3: also lived but also did justice and judgment that is
- 19:30Speaker 3: what truly matters Now, his father's greatness wasn't primarily found
- 19:37Speaker 3: in what he possessed. He sought to do what was
- 19:42Speaker 3: right before God. Jehoiakim, on the other hand, was focused
- 19:47Speaker 3: on building an impressive household. while disregarding the people who
- 19:54Speaker 3: labor supported his ambition. You got to treat your people good.
- 20:00Speaker 3: You got to treat them well.
- 20:03Speaker 4: Amen.
- 20:03Speaker 3: And this makes me think of Club His Hop Las Vegas.
- 20:09Speaker 3: There were times where I was able to pay the
- 20:11Speaker 3: DJs or the artists. I wasn't always able to do that.
- 20:15Speaker 3: So it's just, I don't know, just something that makes
- 20:20Speaker 3: you go, hmm, maybe I should have put something in
- 20:24Speaker 3: place where I was able to pay the people on
- 20:28Speaker 3: more of a consistent basis. And I repent right now. Father,
- 20:32Speaker 3: forgive me for using people's services to build my platform.
- 20:41Speaker 3: I did it out of ignorance, not out of greed.
- 20:45Speaker 3: But Lord, you know my heart. And if it was
- 20:48Speaker 3: greed there, I repent for that as well. By the
- 20:53Speaker 3: blood of Jesus. Amen. You know, I never really considered
- 20:57Speaker 3: these principles, but they're right here. This is why we
- 21:00Speaker 3: go verse by verse, chapter by chapter. It's right here
- 21:04Speaker 3: in the word of God, right? God doesn't want us
- 21:07Speaker 3: To build a platform off of other people's backs and
- 21:13Speaker 3: not pay them or not reward them, right? Or not
- 21:19Speaker 3: bring value to the people that we serve. But for
- 21:25Speaker 3: the king, the issue wasn't just simply architectural architecture, but
- 21:30Speaker 3: it was the heart behind the lifestyle. A person can
- 21:34Speaker 3: possess beautiful things and still be spiritually bankrupt. We see
- 21:39Speaker 3: this all over the place, right? True prosperity is not
- 21:44Speaker 3: measured merely by what you can build for yourself, but
- 21:48Speaker 3: by whether your life is being led according to God's righteousness.
- 21:55Speaker 3: That right there is true and complete prosperity. Verse 16,
- 22:05Speaker 3: he judged the cause of the poor and needy. Then
- 22:10Speaker 3: it was well. Was not this knowing me, says the Lord.
- 22:20Speaker 3: Was not this knowing me, says the Lord.
- 22:25Speaker 4: Amen.
- 22:26Speaker 3: I guess that was in a question format, but let's
- 22:28Speaker 3: break it down. This verse is extremely... He judged the
- 22:35Speaker 3: cause of the poor and needy. Then it was well
- 22:38Speaker 3: with him was not this to know me, says the Lord.
- 22:42Speaker 3: So I had to go to the King James. Sometimes
- 22:46Speaker 3: you lose something in different translation. So God explains what
- 22:52Speaker 3: made Josiah's leadership different. He cared about the poor and
- 22:59Speaker 3: the needy. This is something that God has always cared
- 23:01Speaker 3: about through the scriptures. He didn't just know religious information.
- 23:08Speaker 3: He demonstrated that he knew God by the way he
- 23:13Speaker 3: treated people. And then God says, was not this to
- 23:18Speaker 3: know me? That is a huge statement. Knowing God affects
- 23:25Speaker 3: how we treat people. Let me say that again. That
- 23:30Speaker 3: should be a t-shirt somewhere. Knowing God affects how we
- 23:36Speaker 3: treat people. Now, you can memorize scriptures and still mistreat people.
- 23:52Speaker 3: You can know church language and still exploit people. You
- 23:59Speaker 3: can sing worship songs and still take advantage of people.
- 24:05Speaker 3: You can preach about Jesus and still refuse to pay
- 24:08Speaker 3: somebody fairly. You can have a Christian business and still
- 24:13Speaker 3: operate dishonestly. Jeremiah 22 challenges that because God says, was
- 24:21Speaker 3: not this to know me. In other words, your relationship
- 24:25Speaker 3: with God Should show up in your treatment of other people.
- 24:32Speaker 4: Amen.
- 24:35Speaker 3: A lot of people need to hear this podcast. Make
- 24:38Speaker 3: sure we send it out. Get it out to everyone
- 24:41Speaker 3: out there. And this is a powerful, powerful truth. Because
- 24:46Speaker 3: I know some mean Christians. I know some Christians that
- 24:53Speaker 3: I try to avoid because they're so mean. You know,
- 24:57Speaker 3: the old saying, meaner than a junkyard dog, right? All right,
- 25:03Speaker 3: verse 17. Yet your eyes and your heart are for
- 25:06Speaker 3: nothing but your covetousness, for shedding innocent blood and practicing
- 25:14Speaker 3: oppression and violence. Now, this gives us an insight on
- 25:20Speaker 3: why this king was judged. He is showing us the
- 25:24Speaker 3: inside of a man's heart. You know how people say
- 25:28Speaker 3: that only God can judge you? Yes, and that should
- 25:33Speaker 3: be a scary thing because God sees everything. Everything is
- 25:37Speaker 3: naked and open before him.
- 25:40Speaker 5: Right?
- 25:44Speaker 3: Now, so he exposes his heart. His man was covetous.
- 25:51Speaker 3: He shed innocent blood. This man was an oppressor in violence.
- 26:01Speaker 3: That sounds like a gangbanger. You know what I mean?
- 26:04Speaker 4: Right?
- 26:05Speaker 3: Because they sell their drugs to make their money and
- 26:10Speaker 3: to be initiated in a lot of gangs. They tell
- 26:14Speaker 3: people just to walk up and just take people out.
- 26:17Speaker 3: Innocent people just going about their business. There were our oppressors.
- 26:24Speaker 3: Usually in the game, you have you're controlled by the leader,
- 26:27Speaker 3: the shot caller in violence. Usually in a game, you
- 26:34Speaker 3: guys gain up, you know, you get your get back,
- 26:37Speaker 3: they get their get back. You know what I'm saying?
- 26:40Speaker 3: Like it's the same spirit. But imagine you're the president
- 26:45Speaker 3: living like this, your king living like this. It's the
- 26:51Speaker 3: flesh is demonic. It is evil. So again, his problem
- 27:00Speaker 3: was not merely what he owed. His problem was what
- 27:05Speaker 3: he wanted and what he was willing to do to
- 27:08Speaker 3: get it. Could that be the same with these social
- 27:13Speaker 3: media influencers who are compromising to get a platform? And
- 27:22Speaker 3: this is the heart of the passage today. The real
- 27:24Speaker 3: problem is the heart. Notice that God says, thine eyes
- 27:31Speaker 3: and thine heart. What you look at can affect what
- 27:36Speaker 3: you desire. And what you desire can influence what you're
- 27:41Speaker 3: willing to do. That's why we have to guard our hearts.
- 27:51Speaker 3: Unchecked desire can become covetousness. Covetousness can become greed. Greed
- 27:59Speaker 3: can lead to exploitation and exploitation can lead to people
- 28:04Speaker 3: getting hurt. It starts internally before it becomes external manifested
- 28:18Speaker 3: in the physical world. Be careful what you are desiring.
- 28:24Speaker 3: Be careful what your eyes are looking at. And be careful.
- 28:33Speaker 3: Don't be so desperate so that you're willing to do
- 28:39Speaker 3: anything to get it. That is not God's will. That's
- 28:44Speaker 3: not what God wants us to be. God wants us
- 28:46Speaker 3: to be patient and to wait on him. Seek ye
- 28:51Speaker 3: first the kingdom of God and all things will be
- 28:55Speaker 3: added unto you.
- 28:57Speaker 2: Amen.
- 28:57Speaker 3: All right, y'all, let's take a quick break.
- 29:01Speaker 5: You are listening to the light of Las Vegas. This
- 29:05Speaker 5: is the His Hop Radio Show.
- 29:07Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 29:08Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 29:08Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 29:10Speaker 4: Yeah. Yeah.
- 29:14Speaker 2: Hold on.
- 29:15Speaker 3: Cool.
- 29:16Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 29:17Speaker 3: Here we go.
- 29:19Speaker 2: Cool. The diet's game. Feel the pain.
- 29:22Speaker 3: Feel the rain.
- 29:22Speaker 2: Feel the true life. A lot of things that you
- 29:25Speaker 2: just can't explain. Don't even try. Hard times, dark days,
- 29:29Speaker 2: but at the end of the tunnel, I see the light.
- 29:32Speaker 4: I see the light. Hold on.
- 29:35Speaker 2: Can't stop now. I got a cue i'm gone don't
- 29:37Speaker 2: know how but we still on strong look like we
- 29:39Speaker 2: don't got work in the morning try try try we
- 29:41Speaker 2: can slide never mind i ain't going in tomorrow just
- 29:44Speaker 2: start working out because i know i'm a star not
- 29:46Speaker 2: listening to you you ain't make it this far good
- 29:48Speaker 2: night good luck goodbye before it goes down let you
- 29:51Speaker 2: run them out when it gets too wild at the
- 29:53Speaker 2: rodeo will it all work out on I don't know
- 29:55Speaker 2: for sure, but I'm still enjoying the ride Let me
- 29:58Speaker 2: know where you're trying to go There's really no limit
- 30:00Speaker 2: like Calio But until it all ends like saxophones At
- 30:03Speaker 2: the end of the tunnel, there's light Don't stop, take
- 30:05Speaker 2: me higher Higher, higher, higher to the sky Don't put
- 30:13Speaker 2: out that fire Fire Burning under Mmm Don't play, don't act,
- 30:21Speaker 2: no roles. Act tough, get past it home. Get back, click, click, reload.
- 30:25Speaker 2: Cash app, PayPal, Venmo. They act, they play, they rose.
- 30:29Speaker 2: Don't ask me, I don't know. Act tough, get past
- 30:32Speaker 2: it home.
- 30:33Speaker 5: Get back, click, click, reload.
- 30:34Speaker 2: What it's really gonna be? Who you really wanna see?
- 30:36Speaker 2: Do you wanna see a black man get uncivilized?
- 30:39Speaker 3: When I move, you move.
- 30:40Speaker 2: It's real ludicrous, the rules that they incentivize. I really
- 30:43Speaker 2: wish I could make them see it my way, but
- 30:44Speaker 2: that revolution won't be televised. Deuce, deuce, two fingers to
- 30:47Speaker 2: the devil eyes. Huh, hold on. Can't stop now, got
- 30:50Speaker 2: a cue, I'm gone. Don't know how, but we still.
- 30:52Speaker 4: Gon' show em.
- 30:53Speaker 2: Look like we don't got work in the morning.
- 30:54Speaker 3: Chow, chow, chow, we can slide.
- 30:56Speaker 2: Nevermind, I ain't goin' in no more. Just start workin' out,
- 30:59Speaker 2: cause I know I'm a star.
- 31:00Speaker 4: Not listenin' to you, you.
- 31:01Speaker 2: Ain't make it this far. Good night, good luck, goodbye.
- 31:03Speaker 4: Before it goes.
- 31:04Speaker 2: Down like Geronimo, and it gets too wild at the rodeo.
- 31:07Speaker 2: Will it all work out? I don't know for sure,
- 31:09Speaker 2: but I'm still enjoyin' the ride. Let me know where
- 31:12Speaker 2: you're trying to go There's really no limit like Calio
- 31:15Speaker 2: But until it all ends like saxophones At the end
- 31:17Speaker 2: of the tunnel is life Don't stop, take me higher Higher, higher,
- 31:22Speaker 2: higher to the sky Don't put out that fire Fire.
- 31:41Speaker 5: You are listening to the light of Las Vegas. This
- 31:45Speaker 5: is the His Hop Radio Show.
- 32:04Speaker 3: Yo, yo, yo. What up, what up? We are back
- 32:06Speaker 3: from the break. That was our brother Aja Gazelle. On
- 32:12Speaker 3: our musical break, check him out. He's got some hot
- 32:16Speaker 3: CHH for you. Want to give a huge shout out
- 32:21Speaker 3: to the live chat and to the community. Want to
- 32:27Speaker 3: show some more love to our brother Zone 3, one
- 32:29Speaker 3: of the hottest CHH artists in Vegas. My brother's been
- 32:34Speaker 3: holding it down. Appreciate you, bro. I hope you come
- 32:39Speaker 3: out with some new music soon. You have a gift
- 32:43Speaker 3: and a talent. Amen. Appreciate you for logging into the
- 32:48Speaker 3: live chat and in the community on the down as
- 32:51Speaker 3: the trivia champ. Shout out to our brother. Corinth is
- 32:56Speaker 3: a Christian comedian, comedian, comedian. Like to laugh and get
- 33:03Speaker 3: some giggles. Check him out on social media. I believe
- 33:09Speaker 3: he goes by play too much on YouTube. And everyone
- 33:14Speaker 3: else who has slid through over the time of this podcast.
- 33:18Speaker 3: I believe it's been almost a year since we started
- 33:21Speaker 3: this podcast on the radio station. Meet us here every day,
- 33:25Speaker 3: 11 through Saturday. I mean, 11 through Saturday. Okay, let
- 33:30Speaker 3: me start that off. Meet us here every day at
- 33:31Speaker 3: 11 o'clock Pacific Standard Time, 11 a.m. Pacific Standard Time.
- 33:36Speaker 3: I got to talk slowly here. We are live in
- 33:43Speaker 3: the live chat and in the community here to, for one,
- 33:48Speaker 3: pray with you and agree with you and to listen
- 33:51Speaker 3: to the podcast together. And we do this Monday through Saturday.
- 33:58Speaker 3: Now the weekends, you might get a couple of replays,
- 34:02Speaker 3: but we still log into the live chat to say
- 34:05Speaker 3: what's up to people because our heart is to minister.
- 34:08Speaker 2: Amen.
- 34:08Speaker 3: Amen. And speaking about ministering, let's go to our accountability
- 34:15Speaker 3: partner challenge today. Accountability partner, this is where we encourage
- 34:20Speaker 3: you to call, text, or email somebody in your life
- 34:24Speaker 3: that you allow to hold you accountable and go over
- 34:28Speaker 3: certain topics. If you don't have your own topic, these
- 34:32Speaker 3: are suggested topics. So you don't have to strictly do
- 34:37Speaker 3: what the topic we tell you to do, but Allow
- 34:41Speaker 3: people in your house. If you're dealing with something, hey,
- 34:44Speaker 3: get some help, right? Call people, talk to people that
- 34:49Speaker 3: you can trust. Not people who will gossip and not
- 34:52Speaker 3: people who will just tell you their opinion. Not people
- 34:55Speaker 3: who want you to live according to their preference, but
- 34:58Speaker 3: people who will bring you to scripture and tell you
- 35:01Speaker 3: this is not the will of God. So ask yourself,
- 35:10Speaker 3: Am I more concerned with looking successful or acting or
- 35:16Speaker 3: actually being faithful? I don't know why I'm stumbling my
- 35:20Speaker 3: words today. Am I more concerned with being successful or
- 35:28Speaker 3: actually being faithful to God? Amen. So what is more
- 35:34Speaker 3: important to you being successful or being faithful? Then ask
- 35:40Speaker 3: your accountability partner, is there any area where my ambition
- 35:45Speaker 3: could be causing me to overlook people? And of course,
- 35:51Speaker 3: we always say, don't be defensive. Listen and pray about
- 35:56Speaker 3: what God has revealed. Are you overlooking? Do you see
- 36:01Speaker 3: people as an ends to a means? Are you seeing
- 36:05Speaker 3: people in a way where you can just take advantage
- 36:08Speaker 3: of them? God wants us to be loving. He wants
- 36:11Speaker 3: us to love each other. If you haven't gotten it
- 36:14Speaker 3: by yet, he wants us to be a community that
- 36:17Speaker 3: loves each other. So everything that comes with love, that's
- 36:20Speaker 3: what he wants us to do. A selfish person will
- 36:24Speaker 3: exploit others and take advantage of others. It's all about
- 36:28Speaker 3: them and what they can get. But leadership in the
- 36:32Speaker 3: kingdom is a person who serves other people.
- 36:36Speaker 2: Amen.
- 36:40Speaker 3: Also, we want you to know that His High Radio
- 36:42Speaker 3: is a monitored and a reporting radio station. We are
- 36:45Speaker 3: here to serve you on our station. If you got
- 36:48Speaker 3: new music, if you're putting out a new project, go
- 36:53Speaker 3: to our website, hishighnation.com. Hit that submissions tab. We do
- 36:58Speaker 3: pay royalties. We do monitor and chart our music. Check
- 37:03Speaker 3: out our promo packages. They are very affordable. You can
- 37:07Speaker 3: advertise on our radio station and on our entire platform.
- 37:13Speaker 3: So make sure you take advantage of that.
- 37:15Speaker 4: All right, beloved.
- 37:20Speaker 3: Well, now it's time to head on over to the community.
- 37:23Speaker 3: If you're in the live chat, meet us over in
- 37:26Speaker 3: the community. I told you how to get to it earlier.
- 37:29Speaker 3: Just go to the top menu, scroll down a little
- 37:32Speaker 3: farther and log in. Now in the community, I do
- 37:36Speaker 3: believe you do have to confirm your account. So make
- 37:39Speaker 3: sure you get registered and get confirmed so that you
- 37:42Speaker 3: can participate in today's trivia question. So you know how
- 37:48Speaker 3: it goes. The first one to answer and to get
- 37:50Speaker 3: it right is a trivia champ for today. So according
- 37:54Speaker 3: to these verses, what specific actions did Josiah take that
- 38:02Speaker 3: demonstrated that he knew God. Amen. Let me say it again.
- 38:10Speaker 3: According to these verses, what specific, specific actions did Josiah
- 38:16Speaker 3: take that demonstrate the fact that he knew God?
- 38:23Speaker 4: Amen.
- 38:24Speaker 3: There should be an outward manifestation That will tell people
- 38:31Speaker 3: that this person. Knows God. Amen. All right. Community shout outs.
- 38:41Speaker 3: Community shout out. Actually. I'm kind of sad. I got some.
- 38:49Speaker 3: Not so good news. I had to cancel like two events.
- 38:54Speaker 3: I mean, I guess you could say I have mixed
- 38:56Speaker 3: feelings because I. booked a cruise for my family earlier
- 39:02Speaker 3: in the year and it's at the end of this
- 39:06Speaker 3: month end of September and we won't get back until
- 39:09Speaker 3: the beginning of October and so there were two events
- 39:13Speaker 3: there's one at the end of September and one at
- 39:15Speaker 3: the beginning of October one was a glow night youth
- 39:18Speaker 3: event that I thought I was able to pull off
- 39:23Speaker 3: I was going to just leave from the airport and
- 39:25Speaker 3: go do the event but It happens that the dates don't...
- 39:30Speaker 3: line up so yeah I was looking forward to those
- 39:37Speaker 3: but I was able to contact the people and give
- 39:40Speaker 3: them enough time so if they need another DJ or
- 39:45Speaker 3: to do something else they were able to pivot and
- 39:48Speaker 3: do those things But we do have other stuff coming up.
- 39:54Speaker 3: We were working with the police department. We're going to
- 39:58Speaker 3: do a trunk or treat with them. So we're going
- 40:00Speaker 3: to have a fun time serving them. And then October
- 40:05Speaker 3: the 6th, we'll be in town and we will do
- 40:09Speaker 3: their national night out as well. So you got some
- 40:13Speaker 3: more things that are cooking in the kitchen. So let
- 40:19Speaker 3: us know if you're an artist and you're listening. We
- 40:21Speaker 3: would love to take artists with us to rock the mic.
- 40:24Speaker 3: CHH artists, that is. Of course, Zone 3. I love
- 40:30Speaker 3: you to be with us every time we make moves,
- 40:34Speaker 3: my brother. So if you do have any time or
- 40:38Speaker 3: if they fall on your off days, let us know.
- 40:43Speaker 3: Hit us up. Also, we want to let you know
- 40:55Speaker 3: that His Hop Nation is a 501c3, a non-profit organization.
- 41:02Speaker 3: We opened Club His Hop back in 2012. 5,000 square
- 41:08Speaker 3: foot warehouse. We made it into a venue. We were
- 41:10Speaker 3: able to operate it for six and a half years.
- 41:16Speaker 3: But some things happened. One decision led to another. We
- 41:22Speaker 3: had to vacate the building. It was 2018, so it
- 41:25Speaker 3: was before COVID. So I can't even say COVID did it. No,
- 41:30Speaker 3: there was compromise. I had made some compromises in my
- 41:33Speaker 3: personal life. There was compromises in the camp. I will
- 41:37Speaker 3: be transparent. But I've learned and have repented since then.
- 41:41Speaker 3: And I'm watching and praying to see if God wants
- 41:45Speaker 3: us to relaunch and reopen if we get another run
- 41:48Speaker 3: at that.
- 41:50Speaker 4: Amen.
- 41:50Speaker 2: Amen.
- 41:52Speaker 3: Also, we became a nonprofit organization so that we can
- 41:56Speaker 3: get support from our community. I was sustaining the whole
- 42:01Speaker 3: ministry out of my own pocket. I worked a lot
- 42:03Speaker 3: of overtime to keep the club running. And that was
- 42:08Speaker 3: not a wise move. Now I understand that guys, people
- 42:11Speaker 3: are blessed when they have the opportunity to give and
- 42:13Speaker 3: to sow into good ground. And so my job is
- 42:17Speaker 3: to make sure it stays good ground so that people
- 42:20Speaker 3: can sow into it If it's not good ground, don't
- 42:24Speaker 3: sow into it. Amen. As we saw today in today's episode,
- 42:30Speaker 3: God cares about the process. So pray about it before
- 42:35Speaker 3: you sow into any ministry, including mine. If the Lord
- 42:42Speaker 3: is leading and the Lord gives you the green light,
- 42:46Speaker 3: then by all means, you can donate on our website, hishopnation.com.
- 42:51Speaker 3: or our nonprofit site, hishopnation.org, or you can donate through
- 42:56Speaker 3: the app, His Hop Radio, on all platforms. It is
- 43:01Speaker 3: tax deductible.
- 43:02Speaker 4: All right, beloved.
- 43:08Speaker 3: Well, I got some closing remarks, some final thoughts about
- 43:13Speaker 3: today's podcast. Now, Jehoiakim wanted a great house, God wanted
- 43:21Speaker 3: a righteous king. Jehoiakim focused on cedar. God focused on character.
- 43:31Speaker 3: Jehoiakim focused on what he could build for himself. God
- 43:37Speaker 3: focused on how he treated others. And that gives us
- 43:43Speaker 3: a powerful principle. Don't measure success only by what you
- 43:50Speaker 3: have built. Measure it by what kind of person you
- 43:55Speaker 3: became while you built it.
- 44:01Speaker 4: Amen.
- 44:01Speaker 3: Let me say that again. Don't measure success only by
- 44:04Speaker 3: what you have built. Measure it by what kind of
- 44:09Speaker 3: person you became while building it. You can build a
- 44:13Speaker 3: business and lose your integrity. You can build a ministry
- 44:19Speaker 3: and lose your humanity. You can build a career and
- 44:26Speaker 3: lose your family. You can build a platform and lose
- 44:32Speaker 3: your purpose. You can build a house and still have
- 44:37Speaker 3: an empty heart. But If you build according to God's principles,
- 44:46Speaker 3: you are building something that has eternal value. And that
- 44:54Speaker 3: is the important thing. Only what we do for Christ
- 44:58Speaker 3: will last. Can you imagine having a work schedule to
- 45:05Speaker 3: where all you can do is go to work, go home,
- 45:12Speaker 3: Go to sleep. Maybe spend time for your family and
- 45:17Speaker 3: then get up and go to work. God did not
- 45:21Speaker 3: put us on this planet just to go to work.
- 45:25Speaker 3: God wants more from us than just paying the bills
- 45:29Speaker 3: and taking care of our families. There's nothing wrong with
- 45:32Speaker 3: those things. But the day you stand before him in eternity.
- 45:39Speaker 3: What are you going to bring? What fruit are you
- 45:42Speaker 3: going to bring? How many people have you reached? How
- 45:46Speaker 3: was your prayer life? How were you seeking him? Were
- 45:49Speaker 3: you hitting the streets, outreaching, passing out flyers, passing out food,
- 45:56Speaker 3: passing out clothing? Are you concerned about those who are
- 46:00Speaker 3: needy in society and vulnerable? That's one of the things
- 46:09Speaker 3: we do on this platform is we believe in outreach.
- 46:12Speaker 3: We believe in reaching the next generation. Our DJ services
- 46:17Speaker 3: are not just because we wanted to start a business.
- 46:21Speaker 3: We want to get out there and let them know
- 46:23Speaker 3: that there is positive, uplifting, godly hip hop that they
- 46:29Speaker 3: can listen to and partake in. And once they listen
- 46:33Speaker 3: to it, they're going to hear godly lyrics. They're going
- 46:35Speaker 3: to hear the word of God's scripture. You want to
- 46:39Speaker 3: let them know about this podcast. Maybe you reaching people
- 46:44Speaker 3: is just sharing this podcast with somebody. Because you know
- 46:48Speaker 3: they're going to get the word. They're going to get
- 46:50Speaker 3: the unadulterated. This word is not sugar coated or sugared down.
- 46:55Speaker 3: We go through all.
- 46:58Speaker 4: Of it.
- 47:01Speaker 3: And maybe you can reach people that way. Let us
- 47:05Speaker 3: not be so tied up in this temporary world to
- 47:08Speaker 3: where we miss out on building for eternity.
- 47:16Speaker 4: Amen.
- 47:16Speaker 3: Because God says that we will either lose rewards and
- 47:20Speaker 3: gain rewards if we do make it into the kingdom.
- 47:24Speaker 3: Some people will miss the kingdom altogether because all they
- 47:28Speaker 3: care about is building their own success, paying their own bills,
- 47:34Speaker 3: and all these other things. But build with integrity, build
- 47:40Speaker 3: with justice, and build with God. I'm your brother, Mr.
- 47:47Speaker 3: His Hop. Find me on all social media platforms, mr.hishop.
- 47:53Speaker 3: Check out our website, hishopnation.com. Check out our nonprofit, hishopnation.org.
- 48:01Speaker 3: Download that app, His Hop Radio, on all platforms. And remember,
- 48:04Speaker 3: it's not about us. It's all about the Christ in us.
- 48:07Speaker 3: God bless.
- 48:21Speaker 5: You are listening to The Light of Las Vegas. This
- 48:25Speaker 5: is the His Hop Radio Show.
