- 3:05Speaker 3: heavy mixed wintry precipitation. How much uh how much snow?
- 3:14Speaker 3: Five to ten inches is what they're saying. What's that
- 3:18Speaker 3: way bigger than me? Five to ten inches?
- 3:21Speaker 4: My wife would be so happy to get five to
- 3:22Speaker 4: ten inches.

- 3:33Speaker 4: Sorry, my man, Yeah, yeah, barge in here. Yeah, the
- 3:36Speaker 4: back door was open. Yeah, I hear your back doors
- 3:39Speaker 4: open quite often.
- 3:40Speaker 3: Yeah, back door man. Are you a backdoor man? Or
- 3:45Speaker 3: am I a back door man? Both of us?
- 3:47Speaker 4: Ah, I'm definitely not a receiver.
- 3:50Speaker 3: Oh my god, listen, this, this whole weather thing is
- 3:57Speaker 3: it's gonna be huh, yeah, it's gonna be. You know
- 3:59Speaker 3: it's Does this constitute a storm?
- 4:02Speaker 4: I think two twenty twenty twenty five is the year
- 4:05Speaker 4: of chaos. Everything. Everything is in chaos right now, even
- 4:10Speaker 4: our weather system.
- 4:11Speaker 3: I know we're gonna be bad. I mean, it's what,
- 4:14Speaker 3: just a fut of snow.
- 4:15Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't care because I get to bring up
- 4:17Speaker 4: my tractor.
- 4:18Speaker 3: I get lot that. Of course, I love that shit.
- 4:21Speaker 4: I usually drive all the way around. Robio wrote, when
- 4:23Speaker 4: I have my tractor, I drive all the way around.
- 4:25Speaker 4: I snowblow everybody.
- 4:27Speaker 3: You help out the neighbors and stuff.
- 4:28Speaker 4: Of course I do.
- 4:30Speaker 3: Some mice accumulation too, so during the daytime hours on Sunday.
- 4:36Speaker 3: But you know, a lot of people are going to
- 4:37Speaker 3: be inside to.
- 4:39Speaker 4: Hey, happy Valentine's Day, buddy, Valentine's Day. My wife reminded me.
- 4:44Speaker 4: She's like, hey, I want to cook you a steak tonight.
- 4:46Speaker 4: I was like, that's after you come to my jiu
- 4:48Speaker 4: jitsu class tonight. Right, She's so mad that I have
- 4:52Speaker 4: the jiu jitsu class tonight for Valentine's Day.
- 4:55Speaker 3: What's what's more important? Rex you know? I mean two class.
- 5:00Speaker 4: We've done like twenty six fucking Valentines together. What what
- 5:06Speaker 4: better way to spend Valentine's than having my wife dump
- 5:08Speaker 4: me and throw me on my head. I think that's
- 5:12Speaker 4: a I think that's a pretty good Valentine.
- 5:14Speaker 3: You know what, I will tell you something right now
- 5:16Speaker 3: about your wife, something that I know. Oh about your wife?
- 5:23Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I know.
- 5:24Speaker 4: We're not going to talk about that thing though, right, No,
- 5:26Speaker 4: we're okay, no, no, But I'm.
- 5:29Speaker 3: The thing that she likes, I know. I mean, there's
- 5:32Speaker 3: that and it's not me. There's listen, listen, there's that
- 5:36Speaker 3: thing that she likes about you. But there's also that
- 5:42Speaker 3: thing that she likes about me when you're not around.
- 5:46Speaker 4: Right, I'm just saying, what is that silence?
- 5:56Speaker 5: My god?
- 5:57Speaker 3: Yes, it's Valentine's Day, buddy is absolutely do you do
- 6:02Speaker 3: we know if the Valentine? We do? I mean, we
- 6:05Speaker 3: already know the answer to this. The Valentine bandit in
- 6:08Speaker 3: uh Montpillier. That guy's awesome. I used to work down
- 6:11Speaker 3: there and I used to do the sidewalk plows.
- 6:13Speaker 4: Believe it or not. We'd be out all night long
- 6:15Speaker 4: and I do not know who that guy is. Dead serious,
- 6:19Speaker 4: we I would be out plowing. We come back down
- 6:21Speaker 4: the street and there would be all those hearts down through.
- 6:24Speaker 4: I remember the news crew pulled me over at like
- 6:26Speaker 4: four o'clock in the morning, five o'clock in the morning,
- 6:28Speaker 4: and I was like, yes, of course I know who
- 6:30Speaker 4: it is, and they got no. They got all excited.
- 6:33Speaker 4: They're like, so you've seen the guy. You know who
- 6:35Speaker 4: he is. I was like, absolutely, he is a short,
- 6:38Speaker 4: little fat guy with wings.
- 6:41Speaker 3: Wearing a diaper. Oh yeah.
- 6:43Speaker 4: They were so disappointed. They thought they were getting a
- 6:45Speaker 4: huge story on who the the heart guy was out and.
- 6:48Speaker 3: Hey, before my before my phone goes dead and it's
- 6:52Speaker 3: gonna go dead, I want to give a ring over
- 6:55Speaker 3: to Lindsey Contoys at the pub, because.
- 6:58Speaker 4: Absolutely, I gotta don't we just donated some tickets to
- 7:01Speaker 4: the Lonnie Wade because Lonni Wade used to come to
- 7:03Speaker 4: our shows. I love Lonnie Wade and his wife Cindy.
- 7:06Speaker 4: They were great fucking people.
- 7:08Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah, well, you know tomorrow is the big day
- 7:12Speaker 3: over at the pub. That's when they're having the the
- 7:14Speaker 3: Lonnie Wade Silent Auction and dinner and all.
- 7:17Speaker 4: Okay, oh good, thank you for reminding me. I got
- 7:19Speaker 4: to print those certificates up for the two free tickets
- 7:22Speaker 4: we're giving away the front seats there this time, are you. Yeah,
- 7:26Speaker 4: We're gonna give away two hundred dollars seats right there
- 7:28Speaker 4: at one at one of the tables for the Lonnie Wade.
- 7:31Speaker 4: Get your will for asshole waiting for the I was
- 7:36Speaker 4: waiting for the ink so my daughter can print the tickets.
- 7:38Speaker 3: But lit with us. Hey, hi, honey, I got Rex
- 7:43Speaker 3: here with me. He's coming over with some stuff for
- 7:46Speaker 3: for donning Burg Fight promotions.
- 7:48Speaker 6: For the Yeah.
- 7:49Speaker 5: He always they always donate. I really appreciate it so much.
- 7:53Speaker 6: It helps a lot.
- 7:53Speaker 5: It's one of our biggest auction items that we have
- 7:57Speaker 5: each year, which is very nice.
- 8:00Speaker 3: Listen, is there an ice fishing derby this year? Though?
- 8:03Speaker 2: No?
- 8:04Speaker 6: So man, we like the past two years the ice hasn't.
- 8:09Speaker 5: Been very good, so we we had to cancel like
- 8:16Speaker 5: a week out, and so this year we just decided
- 8:20Speaker 5: that it's so much planning ahead of time and you know,
- 8:24Speaker 5: to get our insurance and you know, paperwork through the
- 8:28Speaker 5: state and fish and wildlife and putting everything together and
- 8:33Speaker 5: people booking hotel rooms at.
- 8:35Speaker 6: The at the inn and everything.
- 8:37Speaker 5: So we just decided to not do it because it's
- 8:42Speaker 5: just so unpredictable, even though this year would have been
- 8:44Speaker 5: the perfect year to do it because the ice is perfect. Right.
- 8:48Speaker 4: Yeah, Hey, Lindsay, is there any event page that we
- 8:51Speaker 4: can share on our Donnybrook page and stuff?
- 8:54Speaker 5: There is if you if you either go on my
- 8:59Speaker 5: personal page or the pub page, you'll see the flyer
- 9:03Speaker 5: there with like a little blurb that you know, tells
- 9:07Speaker 5: what the events about and what we.
- 9:10Speaker 3: Support and awesome.
- 9:12Speaker 5: Yeah, I think I think Eric I also has been
- 9:14Speaker 5: sharing our stuff, so you can look at it there
- 9:16Speaker 5: as well.
- 9:17Speaker 3: It's right there on the monitor right now. So twenty
- 9:21Speaker 3: bucks Kids under twelve for ten again one hundred percent
- 9:24Speaker 3: of the proceeds going directly to the scholarship Fund for
- 9:29Speaker 3: lonneweight Memorial which is awesome. And Cindy's going to be there, right,
- 9:32Speaker 3: I'm sure of course, Yes, we love Cindy. So what's
- 9:37Speaker 3: what's on the menu here? I'm seeing lasagna is just
- 9:40Speaker 3: some of it?
- 9:40Speaker 5: Right, Yeah, so we do a lasagna dinner. But we
- 9:44Speaker 5: also have chicken quarters, green beans, waistside donated.
- 9:50Speaker 6: Roles, so we'll have those roles.
- 9:53Speaker 3: Oh my god, the famous Wayside ways.
- 9:56Speaker 4: Yes, actually I used to go buy them, just to
- 9:59Speaker 4: buy the rolls man.
- 10:00Speaker 5: Yeah, so we have that, and then obviously so we
- 10:06Speaker 5: have like steam vegetables and side salad, and then Taste
- 10:12Speaker 5: of Vermont, which is Taylor Boudette is donating the dessert.
- 10:19Speaker 6: Yeah. Everything she does is amazing.
- 10:22Speaker 5: And my husband Si will be doing most of the
- 10:26Speaker 5: cooking because he's.
- 10:28Speaker 3: I don't know, that's what men do.
- 10:29Speaker 6: He's my right hand man for my cooking stuff. He
- 10:32Speaker 6: like when it comes to like cooking at my business and.
- 10:35Speaker 5: Whatever, he's like, nope, nope, I want to choose how
- 10:37Speaker 5: much I cook and for how many people and what
- 10:40Speaker 5: I cook?
- 10:42Speaker 3: Uh? Has Si already showed a little bit of romance
- 10:47Speaker 3: this morning on Valentine's State lindsay.
- 10:51Speaker 5: Yes in a maybe non traditional romantic way, but I
- 10:54Speaker 5: have been battling this cold, and so he went into work.
- 11:02Speaker 5: He went into work late for me today so that
- 11:06Speaker 5: I could sleep in, and he brought the kids to school.
- 11:09Speaker 4: So when I said, when I hear non tradition, I'm
- 11:11Speaker 4: thinking whips, chains, stuff like that.
- 11:13Speaker 3: Correct.
- 11:15Speaker 4: No, I thought that was normal. Res that is for me.
- 11:19Speaker 5: I mean.
- 11:22Speaker 6: From the same cloth.
- 11:23Speaker 4: I think what.
- 11:26Speaker 3: A loving gesture, though, you know, to let moms sleep in.
- 11:29Speaker 4: Just I'm afraid of my wife. I have to let
- 11:32Speaker 4: her sleep. She's still sleeping. I tiptoed in there just
- 11:35Speaker 4: to get dressed and leave. Lindsay thank you for doing this.
- 11:42Speaker 6: I don't cutting out for some reason.
- 11:44Speaker 3: I don't know how many years you guys have been
- 11:47Speaker 3: doing this Loneyway Memorial Scholarship funding, Genner and Silent Auction,
- 11:52Speaker 3: but I know it's been a long time.
- 11:55Speaker 6: Yeah, this is your five.
- 11:57Speaker 3: Wow, that's cool as hell. Man. I've heard things start
- 12:02Speaker 3: at what time? Four o'clock.
- 12:05Speaker 6: Everything starts at four. So the dinner starts at.
- 12:08Speaker 5: Four and the bidding starts at four. Because we have
- 12:12Speaker 5: like thousands of dollars worth of Silent auction stuff, the
- 12:17Speaker 5: bidding will stop at seven thirty. You will be able
- 12:20Speaker 5: to eat right up until eight. So we have plenty
- 12:23Speaker 5: of stuff that will just be cut food that will
- 12:25Speaker 5: be rotating out. So people can't get there until later
- 12:28Speaker 5: than four. That's absolutely fine. But yeah, like I said,
- 12:32Speaker 5: the bidding will end at seven thirty and we will
- 12:35Speaker 5: announce the winners at eight pm. If you are not
- 12:39Speaker 5: there but you are a winner, we'll contact you the
- 12:43Speaker 5: next day and figure out how to get you your prizes.
- 12:47Speaker 3: Any particular donations or sponsors or anyone that you want
- 12:54Speaker 3: to throw some love at, Oh.
- 12:56Speaker 6: Bait, you want me to get the list out?
- 12:58Speaker 3: Well, I mean, you know, it's just here your opportunity.
- 13:01Speaker 3: You know, there's a lot there's a lot of great
- 13:04Speaker 3: businesses that do this, and I'm guessing Rex that at
- 13:07Speaker 3: seven point thirty there's gonna be some last second bidders
- 13:09Speaker 3: who are going to try to outbid the other guy.
- 13:12Speaker 5: I love doing silent options to see how competitive people get.
- 13:16Speaker 5: They like some people will like sit there like several
- 13:19Speaker 5: different people if there is something that is attracting more
- 13:24Speaker 5: than one person or whatever, and they will bid and
- 13:27Speaker 5: they'll go like like fifty cents higher than each other.
- 13:31Speaker 3: Yeah, like I did. I did that to Rex one
- 13:35Speaker 3: year he smashed a beer bottle over my head, pissed
- 13:38Speaker 3: me off. Good. I still haven't forgotten about it.
- 13:40Speaker 4: I got a pizza oven that way because I was
- 13:42Speaker 4: bidding against a pizza of a guy on a pizza oven,
- 13:45Speaker 4: and I pulled it up and I was like, oh, no,
- 13:47Speaker 4: you can have it. That's more than retail. He was like, oh,
- 13:50Speaker 4: I'm not bidding no more line through my teeth. I
- 13:53Speaker 4: got that pizza oven. Oh my goodness, the smoker. I
- 13:57Speaker 4: paid about three times retail.
- 14:01Speaker 3: Look where your money's going.
- 14:02Speaker 4: It was for a good cause.
- 14:04Speaker 3: You go ahead, okay.
- 14:07Speaker 5: So one of our biggest supporters is Lowry's Barriotto.
- 14:12Speaker 6: Jane and Bill donate so much every year, so they're one.
- 14:19Speaker 6: Nelson's is one. The Corey.
- 14:23Speaker 5: Excuse me while I cough, Pump and pantry. Cheryl and
- 14:27Speaker 5: Scott McCarthy donated maple syrup.
- 14:30Speaker 6: Wilkins always donates.
- 14:34Speaker 5: Just trying to read off some some of this, O'maddie's
- 14:38Speaker 5: from Northfield Pearl Street Pizza. A lot of these came
- 14:43Speaker 5: from a lot of our donations came from people, not businesses.
- 14:47Speaker 6: So I'm not gonna throw their names out there because
- 14:49Speaker 6: some people don't like that. But those are some of
- 14:54Speaker 6: the businesses.
- 14:55Speaker 5: Just like off the top of my head that I
- 14:57Speaker 5: could list to you guys.
- 15:00Speaker 3: It's gonna be a lot of fun. And again it's
- 15:02Speaker 3: it's tomorrow. Tomorrow, you're going to be the you know
- 15:06Speaker 3: what I wish? Well, I'm probably going to be at
- 15:11Speaker 3: the you know. I hope Cherylyn's not listening this morning,
- 15:14Speaker 3: but I'm probably going to be at the Harris Hill
- 15:16Speaker 3: event down in Brattleborough, which is something I used to
- 15:21Speaker 3: do as a kid. And I don't know. I'm watching
- 15:23Speaker 3: the weather if the if you know, it depends on
- 15:26Speaker 3: I think the weather's supposed to be uh kicking in
- 15:29Speaker 3: the gear around dark or so on on Saturday nights,
- 15:32Speaker 3: So we'll see what happens. I got to kind of
- 15:35Speaker 3: map this out and plan it out a little bit.
- 15:37Speaker 3: But Lindsey, thank you for coming on the air with
- 15:40Speaker 3: us this morning.
- 15:41Speaker 6: Yeah, of course, I'm sorry that I couldn't be there
- 15:43Speaker 6: in person.
- 15:44Speaker 3: Yeah, no, that's all right. Are you feeling better?
- 15:48Speaker 6: I am feeling like so much better, but just my energy.
- 15:52Speaker 4: Is low and I am lots of vitamin C.
- 15:56Speaker 5: Yes, I'm having some tea this morning because my yeah,
- 16:01Speaker 5: just my voice is a little bit different if.
- 16:03Speaker 6: You can hear that.
- 16:05Speaker 4: You know what's made a huge difference for me was
- 16:07Speaker 4: I have a steam sauna in my house and so
- 16:11Speaker 4: when I as soon as I start to get sick,
- 16:13Speaker 4: I start hammering that sauna every single day.
- 16:16Speaker 6: So I'll text you later I need to use your sauna.
- 16:20Speaker 3: Well. Rex keeps inviting me to come into the sauna
- 16:24Speaker 3: with him, just huge person's sauna, just get into of
- 16:27Speaker 3: us alone, and it's really starting to make me feel uncomfortable.
- 16:31Speaker 4: But anyway, I don't know if we need the little
- 16:32Speaker 4: steamer on the outside to make it hot in there though.
- 16:34Speaker 3: But what, thank you Linchi, thanks for coming up with us.
- 16:41Speaker 6: You guys have a great day. Happy Valentine's Day, Happy val.
- 16:46Speaker 3: God Rex, how the hell are you? Man? We have
- 16:49Speaker 3: we have a bunch of stuff to get to this morning,
- 16:52Speaker 3: uh and talk about. But uh, first of all, Happy Friday,
- 16:56Speaker 3: Happy Valentine's Day. Today. I think I have a couple
- 16:59Speaker 3: of birthdays before my uh it's your before my my
- 17:04Speaker 3: stuff crashes here, which I know's gonna happen. But it's
- 17:07Speaker 3: Shelley Bresett's birthday.
- 17:09Speaker 4: Oh Shelley, Yeah, Shelley and cats.
- 17:12Speaker 3: Should we say, should I say how old she is?
- 17:14Speaker 4: She's I think she turns thirty two today. She's getting
- 17:19Speaker 4: up there. Shelley's a good ship. Thirty two, yep, Shelley
- 17:23Speaker 4: and thirty two is how much? Thirty two and thirty
- 17:28Speaker 4: two is sixty four? Is that right? I don't know
- 17:34Speaker 4: why you'd ever say anything like that.
- 17:36Speaker 3: I don't know why what either? H Tracy Taylor?
- 17:40Speaker 4: Really?
- 17:41Speaker 3: Oh my god, I can't believe it's Tracy's birthday. Old
- 17:45Speaker 3: radio girl that I just adore her still, Colton Dolack,
- 17:48Speaker 3: guys flying. Oh yeah, this is somebody. I saw that
- 17:52Speaker 3: out of the corner of my eye. Old somebody just
- 17:54Speaker 3: went down Main Streak going with a loader on. I
- 17:57Speaker 3: know Colton Dueling And on the birthday list today, Todd
- 18:02Speaker 3: Osmer is celebrating one today. That guy saved my ass
- 18:08Speaker 3: one time. I'll never forget it, literally prevented my If
- 18:11Speaker 3: it's the same Todd Osmer I'm thinking of.
- 18:14Speaker 4: Oh, I know, Todd Hosmer.
- 18:16Speaker 3: You might not skinny red out of guy. Nope, I'm
- 18:20Speaker 3: thinking of a different one.
- 18:22Speaker 4: Uh.
- 18:22Speaker 3: Lonnie Keene on the birthday list today at fifty one
- 18:27Speaker 3: h Stephen durand lou Is forty Duran Lowe forty seven,
- 18:34Speaker 3: forty seven today Nicholas Catarat sixty one, Catarrat, catarrat. What
- 18:42Speaker 3: did I say? Catarrat?
- 18:43Speaker 7: Yeah?
- 18:44Speaker 3: I always do.
- 18:44Speaker 4: I know you do cattarret get at a.
- 18:47Speaker 3: Cat Did I just do a little dance there? Desiree
- 18:53Speaker 3: Kaiser on the birthday list and I think that's it.
- 18:57Speaker 3: I think that's it.
- 18:59Speaker 4: So Cassin and Shelley, they used to do the the
- 19:03Speaker 4: Bikers for Beth. That was that was big for them
- 19:06Speaker 4: that this year the recipient is my cousin Eddie. Really, yeah,
- 19:11Speaker 4: Eddie Sanborn. Actually his nephew Lewis is in. He's got
- 19:16Speaker 4: stage five stomach cancer. He's in hospice. But I think
- 19:20Speaker 4: Eddie has stomach cancer now. Also, I know he was
- 19:26Speaker 4: fighting Parkinson and so you're.
- 19:28Speaker 3: Going to be riding in.
- 19:29Speaker 4: Yeah, it's actually uh, Samantha Payette. It's her, it's her dad,
- 19:34Speaker 4: Samantha and Travis, you know Travis, of course, it's his
- 19:38Speaker 4: father in law that the.
- 19:41Speaker 3: The rides for Eddie. Wow, he's going to be here soon.
- 19:46Speaker 4: Man, May is coming so quick. I can't wait for
- 19:50Speaker 4: May to get here.
- 19:51Speaker 3: Hey, I'm getting worried that there's some pretty heavy law
- 19:58Speaker 3: enforcement presence that are shooting radar this morning on the
- 20:04Speaker 3: big road on the Interstates, not only ninety one, but
- 20:07Speaker 3: eighty nine two. So you mean the revenue Service.
- 20:11Speaker 4: I was just gonna say, it's it's, you know, time
- 20:15Speaker 4: to hit that quota.
- 20:16Speaker 3: Happy Valentine's right, you know.
- 20:19Speaker 4: I mean they're out there because you got people. Well
- 20:22Speaker 4: back in the day when I was young, I would
- 20:23Speaker 4: probably start drinking because it's nine o'clock and it's Valentine's Day. Yeah,
- 20:29Speaker 4: things have changed a law since we were younger. I
- 20:31Speaker 4: was just speaking to somebody this morning. We were talking
- 20:34Speaker 4: about the lengths you can go to defend yourself here
- 20:38Speaker 4: in Commont, and yeah, the length is very short. We
- 20:44Speaker 4: do not have a stand yourd ground law. You can
- 20:48Speaker 4: get in trouble by two ways. The biggest way to
- 20:53Speaker 4: get yourself in trouble is opening your mouth and talking
- 20:56Speaker 4: to the police. You are not unless if you're a lawyer.
- 21:01Speaker 4: You have nothing to say to a cop because they
- 21:03Speaker 4: are smarter than you. And I tell them that, I'm saying,
- 21:06Speaker 4: hey man, I'm just too dumb to talk to you.
- 21:07Speaker 3: Guys.
- 21:08Speaker 4: I'd rather not talk to you until I have a
- 21:10Speaker 4: lawyer president. So I don't stick my foot in my mouth.
- 21:12Speaker 4: It's pretty simple. You just but if you want to
- 21:15Speaker 4: brag about what you did to somebody, and not so
- 21:20Speaker 4: much brag, but they become your friends. They want you
- 21:24Speaker 4: to tell Every single thing that you say is going
- 21:27Speaker 4: to be used against you. If you have a way
- 21:30Speaker 4: to escape a situation, it is not a self defense situation.
- 21:36Speaker 4: If you are in a vehicle and the person gets
- 21:38Speaker 4: out of the vehicle and you get out and you
- 21:41Speaker 4: chase that person around to that vehicle to confront them,
- 21:44Speaker 4: it is one hundred percent your fault. If you hurt
- 21:46Speaker 4: them people, you will be charged with it. This is Vermont.
- 21:49Speaker 4: We talk about this in our self defense classes. We
- 21:52Speaker 4: talk about the laws, especially if you're a man. A
- 21:56Speaker 4: female has a little more leeway because they're physically they're
- 22:01Speaker 4: not They're not as physically they're not as physically large,
- 22:05Speaker 4: they're not when it comes to a man, you have
- 22:08Speaker 4: a lot more leeway when it comes to a female
- 22:11Speaker 4: protecting herself versus a man the man. Think about it, guys,
- 22:16Speaker 4: we have asked the government to come and protect us.
- 22:19Speaker 4: So now do you carry a cop on your hip?
- 22:22Speaker 5: No?
- 22:23Speaker 4: So the only way to defend yourself is to call
- 22:26Speaker 4: somebody else to come and help you defend yourself. So
- 22:30Speaker 4: this is what we've come to.
- 22:33Speaker 3: So you need to be.
- 22:34Speaker 4: Careful, especially in Vermont. Florida is a different story. Florida.
- 22:38Speaker 4: Every state is different. But you know, we all, we
- 22:43Speaker 4: all guys have that delusion of this big you know,
- 22:48Speaker 4: how the fight should go down and stuff like that,
- 22:50Speaker 4: and it's just not. Once all the romance and all
- 22:56Speaker 4: that stuff has gone out of your head, now there's consequences.
- 22:59Speaker 4: And I'm fifty years old, man, I don't I and
- 23:04Speaker 4: I've been in fights down at Lindsay's. Lindsay's like the
- 23:07Speaker 4: cool Lindsay calms me right now. Like Lindsay will stand
- 23:10Speaker 4: right in front of me and get my face and
- 23:12Speaker 4: she knows I won't hit her or.
- 23:13Speaker 3: Anything, so that's the it.
- 23:17Speaker 4: She can. She'll calm me down if a guy gets
- 23:19Speaker 4: in my face we're fighting, Like I get to that point.
- 23:22Speaker 4: I'm like that. But there's there's always consequences. I was
- 23:27Speaker 4: luckily when I grew up, we had mutual combat.
- 23:30Speaker 3: People didn't if.
- 23:31Speaker 4: You got into a fist fight, it was just a
- 23:33Speaker 4: fist fight. Now there's no such thing as just a
- 23:36Speaker 4: fist fight. Somebody's going to.
- 23:37Speaker 3: Jail over it.
- 23:39Speaker 4: Yeah, it's so I try not to fight.
- 23:41Speaker 3: I don't.
- 23:42Speaker 4: I don't want to fight outside the gym anymore. I
- 23:45Speaker 4: just I like my freedom way too much. And I
- 23:48Speaker 4: know if a dummy grabs a hold of me, I
- 23:50Speaker 4: will fucking hurt him. So I avoid it.
- 23:53Speaker 3: I have to.
- 23:55Speaker 4: So that's all I do my drinking, so I don't
- 23:58Speaker 4: drink too much whiskey and get one on it. Act stupid. Yep, yep,
- 24:03Speaker 4: I hear you man talking about that. You know what
- 24:07Speaker 4: tonight is? What's tonight tonight is the first Japanese jiu
- 24:12Speaker 4: jitsu class Yama keys Iike jiu Jitsu.
- 24:16Speaker 3: This class is Granite City Mma. Yeah, six o'clock.
- 24:19Speaker 4: We're doing this specifically at night on a Friday night,
- 24:24Speaker 4: so more people, so people can get out of work
- 24:27Speaker 4: and come there. This particular class is free for law
- 24:32Speaker 4: enforcement and first responders.
- 24:34Speaker 3: Fantastic. Yeah.
- 24:35Speaker 4: I let Sophia's mom know last night, so she'll probably
- 24:39Speaker 4: she didn't get out of work till five. So that's
- 24:41Speaker 4: what made us do it for six o'clock. We're gonna
- 24:44Speaker 4: get Sophia in here sometime.
- 24:46Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 24:47Speaker 4: The problem is is, uh, you got to pick a
- 24:49Speaker 4: different day than a Friday because she's doing private lessons with.
- 24:55Speaker 3: How old is Sophia now?
- 24:56Speaker 4: About nineteen and nineteen twenty years old?
- 24:59Speaker 3: What happened this this past weekend? She lost the fight where.
- 25:05Speaker 4: Combat Zone got in New Hampshire. She fought a real
- 25:08Speaker 4: tough kid. The girl was a high level wrestler coming
- 25:14Speaker 4: out of a really decent camp. That girl's gonna be tough.
- 25:17Speaker 4: They'll probably meet up again at some point. First round,
- 25:22Speaker 4: that girl came out and whacked Sophia. I thought she
- 25:26Speaker 4: was gonna knock her out. She and they kind of
- 25:29Speaker 4: got into Sophia's head. Sophia got mad, threw away a
- 25:32Speaker 4: bunch of technique, got taken down. Second round. In between
- 25:36Speaker 4: rounds Lucas made adjustments. He got her back into her headspace,
- 25:42Speaker 4: said hey, calm down, don't abandon your technique. She came
- 25:47Speaker 4: back out second round, did really good piece. The girl
- 25:50Speaker 4: up won the second round. Third round, the other girl
- 25:55Speaker 4: made adjustments. So both the coaches were making adjustments. So
- 25:58Speaker 4: that's how you know you're fighting highlight people at that Wow,
- 26:02Speaker 4: this is yeah. So so then they made adjustments. They're like, okay,
- 26:06Speaker 4: you can't stand and bang with Sofia, look at your face.
- 26:09Speaker 4: Your eye is swollen almost shut. They had to bring
- 26:11Speaker 4: a doctor in to look at the girl's eye. Sophia
- 26:15Speaker 4: start her combination, that girl walk right through it. Level
- 26:18Speaker 4: change throw her on the ground, and that would and
- 26:21Speaker 4: that was frustrating. Sophia was just being pinned to the ground,
- 26:24Speaker 4: being being wrestle fucked. Yeah, so, but that makes a
- 26:28Speaker 4: huge difference in the in the the eyes of the judges.
- 26:32Speaker 4: Even though when they both stood up, one girl's face
- 26:34Speaker 4: it was just completely beat up. The other girl looked
- 26:36Speaker 4: like she was just got done running a marathon. Sure, sure,
- 26:40Speaker 4: but that makes no difference whatsoever. When so they look
- 26:43Speaker 4: at significant strikes and when I say a significant strike, yes,
- 26:48Speaker 4: that Sophia hit that girl twice coming in, but it
- 26:53Speaker 4: didn't stop her forward motion. That's how they consider it.
- 26:57Speaker 4: So she ate those punches. Level change took her down.
- 27:01Speaker 4: It's incredibly hard to hold somebody pinned to the ground
- 27:06Speaker 4: that doesn't want to be pinned to the ground. If
- 27:07Speaker 4: you don't believe me, and grab any person on the street,
- 27:09Speaker 4: try to throw them on their back and hold them there.
- 27:12Speaker 4: It's really hard, even when they don't have training. So
- 27:14Speaker 4: there's a lot of there's a lot that judges during
- 27:18Speaker 4: MMA will give to wrestlers. They'll give to that. So
- 27:22Speaker 4: the third round ended up being she lost. So she
- 27:25Speaker 4: lost the fight with a decision coming to the third
- 27:28Speaker 4: round and it came down to the takedowns. But it's
- 27:33Speaker 4: an amateur fight, yeah, right, right right, I records start
- 27:36Speaker 4: all over suit professional Chriylyn and I were looking at
- 27:40Speaker 4: the calendar last night and we're like, oh my god,
- 27:44Speaker 4: you know, it's already the middle of February. Anxiety.
- 27:49Speaker 3: We're a month away from like Saint Patti's Day minus
- 27:54Speaker 3: a few days, and then right after that is the
- 27:57Speaker 3: battle in Barry, Yes, March twenty second, talk to me
- 28:02Speaker 3: so Marry Auditorium. Yep.
- 28:06Speaker 4: The main event is probably one of the biggest fights
- 28:11Speaker 4: in New England right now. There's not a bigger fight
- 28:15Speaker 4: right now. When I did my live and I announced it,
- 28:18Speaker 4: we already have over six seven thousand views just from
- 28:21Speaker 4: that one live. This we are bringing down Ryan or
- 28:28Speaker 4: the Ryan Sandberg, that's his name, is the Ryan. The
- 28:35Speaker 4: dude is tough. He fought Michael Venom Page in Bellator.
- 28:41Speaker 4: He's the number one ranked guy in the Northeast. He's
- 28:43Speaker 4: the number one ranked guy in New England. He's ranked
- 28:48Speaker 4: one hundred and ninetieth pound per pound out of twenty
- 28:51Speaker 4: thousand people, twenty thousand welterweights.
- 28:55Speaker 3: What's just weight?
- 28:56Speaker 4: Welterweight hundred and seventy pounds, Okay, so he's one ninety
- 29:01Speaker 4: pound for pound in all of North America, Canada, United States,
- 29:05Speaker 4: all of North America. He is ranked two hundred out
- 29:08Speaker 4: of twenty thousand professional So he's coming to Vermont. He
- 29:14Speaker 4: fights out of Primo Belarusa's Jim in Maine. He's twenty
- 29:19Speaker 4: three and eleven and he's the he's just number one
- 29:23Speaker 4: throughout and he's gonna be fighting Chris Parol. Chris Parol
- 29:27Speaker 4: is the number twelve ranked undefeated fighter. So Ryan was
- 29:30Speaker 4: supposed to fight the fighter out of Granite City MMA. Yeah,
- 29:34Speaker 4: he had seven amateur fights, he went undefeated and now
- 29:38Speaker 4: he's going on. He's got three professional undefeated fights. So
- 29:43Speaker 4: he's ten, I mean all in all, he's ten in
- 29:45Speaker 4: h is it camp time?
- 29:46Speaker 3: Now? Oh?
- 29:47Speaker 4: He's in camp. He's one hundred percent in camp. Then
- 29:54Speaker 4: we have h serge Uskevic fighting eight and Dobo for
- 30:01Speaker 4: the uh small Glove moy Thai amateur iska New England title.
- 30:07Speaker 4: So there's another title. We have another title fight coming
- 30:10Speaker 4: on and this will be one hundred and thirty five
- 30:14Speaker 4: pound moy Thai title. I have to confirm it though,
- 30:18Speaker 4: we're just waiting. We also have Vinnie Constantino coming from
- 30:22Speaker 4: New York. He's another big name over in New York.
- 30:25Speaker 4: Vinnie fights out of Atlas BJJ.
- 30:29Speaker 3: Even if I knew how to fight, I would never
- 30:31Speaker 3: fight anyone by the name Vinnie ever, right, Just I
- 30:36Speaker 3: wouldn't fuck that guy. I'm not fighting, no Vinnie. He's
- 30:38Speaker 3: not fighting Vinnie. Next thing you know, I'm chopped up
- 30:40Speaker 3: in someone's trunk somewhere.
- 30:42Speaker 4: Guy's pulling brass knuckles out of his fight shorts just
- 30:45Speaker 4: to finish you off. And then look at the ref.
- 30:49Speaker 4: What the fuck are you talking about? Are you talking
- 30:51Speaker 4: to me exact?
- 30:54Speaker 3: Look? Look what you've done to the Glenn Brummers of
- 30:58Speaker 3: the w I know, right, the folks who have never
- 31:02Speaker 3: been to an event like this, a battle in Perry,
- 31:06Speaker 3: who go one time and that's all it takes. Now
- 31:11Speaker 3: they're like, when's the next one, when's the next one,
- 31:13Speaker 3: when's the next one.
- 31:14Speaker 4: I mean, we're already starting to build our June card
- 31:18Speaker 4: because we have so many next fights. We have so
- 31:20Speaker 4: many teams. Ever since we switched out our sanctioning bodies,
- 31:23Speaker 4: it made a huge difference.
- 31:26Speaker 3: Yeah, when you bring on that's the next fight in June.
- 31:29Speaker 4: Yeah, okay, So March twenty second, June seventh, September thirteenth,
- 31:35Speaker 4: and December sixth? Are you writing this all down, Glenn Glad,
- 31:39Speaker 4: we'll be the first one to know. I know it's
- 31:41Speaker 4: absolutely we're trying to book one of the theme one
- 31:45Speaker 4: of the slap fighting guys. Oh yeah, he used to.
- 31:50Speaker 4: He does MMA and slap fighting.
- 31:52Speaker 3: God, I would love that. Yeah, he's fought for us before.
- 31:56Speaker 3: Bobby Bartlett. Yeah, he says that he's tossed to you
- 32:01Speaker 3: a few times.
- 32:04Speaker 4: Bobby or No, you've touched him, Okay, yeah, yeah, No,
- 32:08Speaker 4: Bobby's son used to come in and trade. Bobby used
- 32:10Speaker 4: to come train with me. I'm sight in Bobby's house
- 32:12Speaker 4: right now. I built him a tiny home on his
- 32:15Speaker 4: front lawn for the mother in law.
- 32:16Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, he's a presenting sponsor. Now. I was
- 32:19Speaker 3: just in here though, Oh, no way, talking about insurance
- 32:22Speaker 3: the whole time.
- 32:23Speaker 4: Absolutely, he's a great new to have as a sponsor.
- 32:26Speaker 3: And I said to everybody down, very talented drummer too.
- 32:29Speaker 4: I guess he's a rock star. Man, look at him,
- 32:32Speaker 4: look at how can you not know he's a rock star.
- 32:36Speaker 4: He's got beautiful hair. Lucky bastard, I know, I know.
- 32:44Speaker 4: Will Bobby be at the March twenty two fight probably?
- 32:48Speaker 3: All right?
- 32:48Speaker 4: Yeah? His son so a funny story. I gotta tell
- 32:51Speaker 4: you a funny story about his son. So his son
- 32:53Speaker 4: comes in and he's really really nervous because he's not
- 32:56Speaker 4: really from around here. They moved down here a few
- 32:59Speaker 4: years ago. He was going to the I think it
- 33:02Speaker 4: was Barry Town, he was going to Berrytown. Well, he
- 33:04Speaker 4: comes into Granite City, MMA, and I get to he's
- 33:09Speaker 4: a really shy kid. Him and his brother come in,
- 33:11Speaker 4: and I was like, what is your goal? You know,
- 33:13Speaker 4: what do you want to get out of the self
- 33:14Speaker 4: defense class?
- 33:15Speaker 3: Stuff like this? He goes, well, did you know this
- 33:17Speaker 3: was Bobby skit? Yeah?
- 33:19Speaker 4: All right, yeah, yeah, absolutely, so you know, and that's
- 33:23Speaker 4: why I pulled him aside. I want to know, you
- 33:25Speaker 4: know what, what do you want to get out of
- 33:26Speaker 4: self defense? What do you He's like, well, I'm starting
- 33:29Speaker 4: high school next year, and I'm really really nervous, and
- 33:32Speaker 4: I remember that feeling. Man, when I came from Barry
- 33:35Speaker 4: Town and I had to come to the city and
- 33:37Speaker 4: I was scared of all the city kids. We had
- 33:39Speaker 4: to do this this tour, and they told us don't
- 33:42Speaker 4: go in the bathrooms in between. I seriously thought like
- 33:45Speaker 4: someone's gonna beat me up and boot me up with
- 33:46Speaker 4: heroin in the bathrooms at Spalding High School. I just
- 33:49Speaker 4: remember being so scared. And I was like, all right, man,
- 33:52Speaker 4: you got we're going to train for the all summer long.
- 33:55Speaker 4: We're going to train, is what we're gonna do.
- 33:58Speaker 3: I said.
- 33:59Speaker 4: But the other thing that you're gonna do is you're
- 34:00Speaker 4: gonna buy yourself a granite City Mma sweatshirt and the
- 34:04Speaker 4: first day of school you're gonna wear that fucking sweatshirt.
- 34:08Speaker 4: So we train. He builds up his confidence and the
- 34:12Speaker 4: very first day he wears his grandest City Mma sweatshirt. Right,
- 34:18Speaker 4: And so he comes back to self defense class after
- 34:21Speaker 4: going to school and I said, hey, man, how did
- 34:24Speaker 4: your first day of school? He goes, oh, yes, it
- 34:26Speaker 4: was awesome. I said, did anybody fuck with you? He
- 34:30Speaker 4: goes no. Once they saw that granted City Mma sweatshirt,
- 34:33Speaker 4: they just wanted to talk about fighting and how cool
- 34:37Speaker 4: the place was. It's because we're a family man. We
- 34:41Speaker 4: don't like if you're walking through school and you see
- 34:43Speaker 4: another kid with a Grandite City MMA shirt on, you know,
- 34:47Speaker 4: you know, you guys relate right then and there. And
- 34:49Speaker 4: if you saw somebody getting beat up with it with
- 34:51Speaker 4: a Grandite City MMA shirt, you better hope nobody else
- 34:54Speaker 4: is around with Granted City MMA shirt on it either.
- 34:57Speaker 3: What time two things start tonight over at Granite City MMA,
- 35:01Speaker 3: six o'clock. All right, public is welcome to stop by.
- 35:06Speaker 4: Absolutely first class.
- 35:07Speaker 3: Free.
- 35:08Speaker 4: Come check it out. Really yep, check it out. Come
- 35:11Speaker 4: check it out. If you like it, sign.
- 35:13Speaker 3: Up and just look for Rex. Just look for the
- 35:16Speaker 3: bald head.
- 35:18Speaker 4: Yeah. I'm not hard to find inside the GYMP. It's
- 35:21Speaker 4: really easy. Walk into the church doors and bald head. Yeah,
- 35:25Speaker 4: you'll see me in there, out of white ga and
- 35:27Speaker 4: a black belt.
- 35:27Speaker 3: Don that's me? What was I going to say?
- 35:33Speaker 6: Uh?
- 35:34Speaker 3: Tickets for the Battle and Barry Yes on March twenty two. Yep,
- 35:38Speaker 3: Donnybrook Fight Promotions dot com. Yes, all right, Facebook, we
- 35:43Speaker 3: have an event page. You can buy the tickets right
- 35:46Speaker 3: through the event page. You can go in if you
- 35:48Speaker 3: can't make it, you can buy the pay per view
- 35:50Speaker 3: all right, which is a good it's a good link
- 35:56Speaker 3: to have at your fingertips because, let's be honest, so
- 36:00Speaker 3: a lot of us are getting or getting ill at
- 36:03Speaker 3: the last minute, and if we feel like shit but
- 36:06Speaker 3: we still want to catch the fight, you can get
- 36:08Speaker 3: the pay per view, right.
- 36:11Speaker 4: So the other thing is for support for Donnie Brook.
- 36:17Speaker 4: If you enjoy these shows and you really you know,
- 36:19Speaker 4: you'd like to see them continue and stuff like that,
- 36:22Speaker 4: even if you can't make it, you know, an easy
- 36:25Speaker 4: way to support it is you go to the event
- 36:28Speaker 4: page and invite people or share the event page for
- 36:31Speaker 4: our Donnie Brook. That's a huge help for us to
- 36:35Speaker 4: get the word out because we have too many people
- 36:37Speaker 4: in Berry City that don't know about our fights. We're
- 36:40Speaker 4: drawing people in from New York, Rutland, everywhere else, but
- 36:44Speaker 4: the people at Barry are missing out that we have
- 36:46Speaker 4: the shows going on. So if you like the shows
- 36:49Speaker 4: you like having out there, please share our events, share
- 36:52Speaker 4: our posts from donnybrook Instagram stuff like that. You don't
- 36:56Speaker 4: have to share my political posts. Those are on my
- 36:58Speaker 4: private page. I keep them off bhind Donnie Root page.
- 37:01Speaker 3: Thank God, and and all hail President Musk. Go on
- 37:06Speaker 3: uh and go on the you know, go go on
- 37:10Speaker 3: the city page and post some comments about this event.
- 37:15Speaker 3: I mean, that happens how many times per year?
- 37:18Speaker 4: Four times?
- 37:18Speaker 3: Four times. So we were just going through it. Look
- 37:22Speaker 3: what that does to the local economy. We're talking about
- 37:26Speaker 3: fighters and their teams.
- 37:28Speaker 4: We come and spend alone on the hotel over eight
- 37:31Speaker 4: thousand dollars just on hotel rooms each event locally.
- 37:36Speaker 3: Yeah, and then they're hitting restaurants and.
- 37:39Speaker 4: Yep, they're at the quarry, they're at the cornerstone, they're
- 37:42Speaker 4: over at the firehouse. Sure, yeah, they they love going
- 37:46Speaker 4: up and down out here.
- 37:48Speaker 3: Make sure the city knows how much you enjoy these
- 37:52Speaker 3: events we do.
- 37:53Speaker 4: We had a we had a big sit down with
- 37:55Speaker 4: Nicholas and the new building manager that took over for
- 37:59Speaker 4: h for Jeff, you know. And that was the thing is,
- 38:03Speaker 4: after every single one of those we so we didn't
- 38:06Speaker 4: understand there was like there was some tension between us
- 38:09Speaker 4: in the city and I didn't I really didn't understand it.
- 38:11Speaker 4: And you know, Nicholas was like, well, it's a burden
- 38:16Speaker 4: on us, and I was like, what do you mean?
- 38:20Speaker 4: And so we had the meeting and we sat down
- 38:22Speaker 4: and we talked like adults. We didn't scream at each
- 38:24Speaker 4: other or anything like that. And he explained to us,
- 38:28Speaker 4: He's like, you're supposed to be cleaning up after this.
- 38:33Speaker 4: I was like, we were told that that was part
- 38:36Speaker 4: of our when we rented it, that that was part
- 38:38Speaker 4: of it. I was like, why are we just hearing
- 38:40Speaker 4: that this is battle and Barry's sixteen and so I
- 38:46Speaker 4: like Jeff and everything else. But Jeff was more of
- 38:48Speaker 4: a people pleaser, So whoever whoever came on, he would
- 38:54Speaker 4: tell you what you wanted to hear. So instead of
- 38:56Speaker 4: telling us the truth, being like, hey, you need to
- 38:58Speaker 4: have a cleanup crew, he didn't want to but I
- 39:00Speaker 4: don't know, disappoint us or whatever. So never said anything
- 39:03Speaker 4: until it turned into he was gone. Now there's a
- 39:07Speaker 4: bunch of hostility between us and the city that we
- 39:10Speaker 4: didn't even know was there. So I'm glad we had
- 39:12Speaker 4: that sit down.
- 39:14Speaker 3: And communication. Communication.
- 39:16Speaker 4: Communication is huge and it's and it makes things even
- 39:20Speaker 4: worse when you have somebody in charge that doesn't know
- 39:22Speaker 4: how to communicate.
- 39:23Speaker 3: Yeah, Donnybrook, fight Promotions dot Com again to get your
- 39:29Speaker 3: tickets and get them because it's going to be here quickly,
- 39:33Speaker 3: a little bit more a month away. Yep.
- 39:35Speaker 4: Absolutely, the cards already full. We will have between thirteen
- 39:41Speaker 4: to fifteen professional and amateur fights.
- 39:44Speaker 3: Let's say kudos to Brenda, to Taylor, to Hunter. Your
- 39:49Speaker 3: whole family is Donnybrook fight promot. It's not just you.
- 39:53Speaker 4: Yep, No, it's not that. My daughter is the biggest
- 39:59Speaker 4: part of it. I'm the matchmaker, but she does all
- 40:02Speaker 4: the videography, she does everything, the website, she.
- 40:05Speaker 3: Runs everything, imaging everything.
- 40:08Speaker 4: Yeah, we just hired a new advertising specialist and he's
- 40:14Speaker 4: going around to businesses right now and offering our advertising
- 40:17Speaker 4: packages if anybody would like to advertise, because we're reaching out.
- 40:22Speaker 4: Just this month alone, we had a reach of over
- 40:24Speaker 4: seventy eight thousand people in one month, and that's during
- 40:29Speaker 4: our slow time. That means we are reaching out over
- 40:32Speaker 4: a million people just on Facebook alone in a year.
- 40:36Speaker 3: Isn't that amazing?
- 40:37Speaker 4: And our advertise to be able to advertise is so
- 40:40Speaker 4: cheap compared to what you're getting on radio, TV, and
- 40:44Speaker 4: our reach goes beyond those anyone you want to throw
- 40:46Speaker 4: some love at Oh yeah, yeah, absolutely, you know. I
- 40:51Speaker 4: first of all, the presenting sponsor is me Barslow Construction.
- 40:55Speaker 4: It's my daughter. I put the most amount of money
- 40:57Speaker 4: in there. Then we have the Source with Gabe Cole
- 41:02Speaker 4: up there, we have Kidder's Home, Kidder's Interiors, those guys,
- 41:08Speaker 4: the Comfort in Wilkins, Harley Davis, and we have so
- 41:10Speaker 4: many sponsors, Harrington's Food. I need to say something about
- 41:14Speaker 4: Harrington's Food there because I've been watching them poor kids
- 41:18Speaker 4: get trashed online.
- 41:20Speaker 3: Man, what are you talking about?
- 41:23Speaker 4: There is a bunch of granite workers that were upset
- 41:25Speaker 4: that they didn't have enough breakfast sandwiches or weren't open
- 41:28Speaker 4: on time, so they wanted to boycott the business.
- 41:31Speaker 3: What yep?
- 41:34Speaker 4: Oh yeah, they were absolutely trash. So let's just talk
- 41:37Speaker 4: about a little backstory of these people that are running
- 41:40Speaker 4: that business. They are a young family. That kid is
- 41:45Speaker 4: working eighty to ninety hours a week, trying to get
- 41:50Speaker 4: his family together, trying to raise a family, trying to
- 41:53Speaker 4: start a business. They are some of the hardest working people.
- 41:58Speaker 4: Are they making mistakes? Fuck yeah, they've never owned a business.
- 42:02Speaker 4: They have to ride this wave through it. But go
- 42:04Speaker 4: in and talk to them. They're good people, they really
- 42:07Speaker 4: really are. But you know, and when you trash a
- 42:10Speaker 4: small business like that online, you can absolutely shut that
- 42:14Speaker 4: business down, unlike a big corporate at McDonald's or somebody
- 42:17Speaker 4: that fucked your order up. Yeah, doesn't affect corporate at all,
- 42:21Speaker 4: but you can absolutely affect a small business.
- 42:23Speaker 3: Local family.
- 42:24Speaker 4: Yeah, and their biggest beef was because they were supposed
- 42:28Speaker 4: to be open at six thirty, but they weren't making
- 42:30Speaker 4: it there in time. Okay, well have you seen all
- 42:33Speaker 4: their little kids. They're trying to get ready, get them together,
- 42:36Speaker 4: and they're trying to go open a store, plus get
- 42:38Speaker 4: kids to school. Good for them for trying to get
- 42:42Speaker 4: that done. So they adjusted that already. They said, hey,
- 42:45Speaker 4: we can't guarantee to be opened by six thirty, so
- 42:48Speaker 4: they changed their time to seven. They're working on the
- 42:51Speaker 4: breakfast sandwiches and stuff like that. But just remember those people.
- 42:55Speaker 4: And it's awesome to get all your friends to bash
- 42:58Speaker 4: people online and stuff like that, and you know that's
- 43:00Speaker 4: really cool and you're it makes your heart feel really
- 43:03Speaker 4: good getting all that attention and stuff, but just remember
- 43:06Speaker 4: those are your neighbors. Those are the people. So if
- 43:10Speaker 4: your goal is to put them out of business and
- 43:13Speaker 4: trash and neighbor, that's cool, But just remember that man that.
- 43:17Speaker 3: Thanks for saying that. Man, that's I wasn't aware of that.
- 43:20Speaker 4: Yeah, I and and but that's they're right, they're they're
- 43:24Speaker 4: unhappy customers. We all know you can't make everybody happy.
- 43:28Speaker 4: But is it worth the extreme because you didn't get
- 43:31Speaker 4: your breakfast in onuch that morning to try to put
- 43:33Speaker 4: a family out of business?
- 43:34Speaker 3: Yeah? Right right, you know what I mean? Yeah, great point,
- 43:37Speaker 3: I get it.
- 43:37Speaker 4: Though we have become twenty twenty five is the year
- 43:41Speaker 4: of me? Yeah, that's what it should That should be
- 43:44Speaker 4: the motto for twenty twenty five, the year of me.
- 43:50Speaker 3: I have I have something that I want to read
- 43:54Speaker 3: this morning. I said last night I was going to
- 43:56Speaker 3: post that I posted up last night that I was
- 43:59Speaker 3: gonna read it this morning on the air, and I
- 44:00Speaker 3: would love to get your take on it, if you
- 44:02Speaker 3: don't mind. Biz Journals just had something that I just
- 44:09Speaker 3: just caught and I was like, you know what, I'm
- 44:11Speaker 3: gonna post this up because yeah, I'm interested to hear
- 44:15Speaker 3: what you have to say, but I'm also very interested
- 44:18Speaker 3: to see what others have to say about this. Hiring
- 44:23Speaker 3: managers have a dim view of new graduates, so much
- 44:26Speaker 3: so that many would rather use a robot or artificial
- 44:30Speaker 3: intelligence than hire someone right out of college. And we
- 44:35Speaker 3: were talking about AI quite a bit, quite a bit.
- 44:39Speaker 4: The landscape's changing, but we've gone through this for years.
- 44:44Speaker 4: Or Bob Lapage. When Bob Lapage took over the sand
- 44:48Speaker 4: pit over here, his father had a truck and a
- 44:52Speaker 4: shovel and he called Bob lazy for trying to get
- 44:55Speaker 4: a bucket loader. He was like, dad, it's so much
- 44:58Speaker 4: faster to get a bucket loader. They were handloading trucks
- 45:02Speaker 4: with shovels, and his dad accused him of being lazy
- 45:06Speaker 4: for wanting to buy them loader. So we go through this.
- 45:10Speaker 4: I mean, technology changes, industries change all the time. Instead
- 45:15Speaker 4: of paying somebody twenty dollars an hour at McDonald's, install
- 45:19Speaker 4: a machine to take your order.
- 45:20Speaker 3: And we talked about that yesterday. You know, Joe was
- 45:24Speaker 3: was on the air yesterday and had a mouthful to
- 45:27Speaker 3: say about this about you know, we've got robots making
- 45:30Speaker 3: pizzas now. And it says when given a choice, thirty
- 45:36Speaker 3: seven percent of hiring managers, again this is from biz Journals,
- 45:40Speaker 3: thirty seven percent of hiring managers surveyed by Workplace Intelligence
- 45:44Speaker 3: on behalf of HALT International business schools said they would
- 45:48Speaker 3: rather have a robot or AI do the job than
- 45:52Speaker 3: hire a new graduate from college graduate. Forty four percent
- 45:57Speaker 3: said they would rather give the job to an exist
- 46:00Speaker 3: freelancer instead of a new graduate, and forty five percent
- 46:03Speaker 3: would rather recruit and hire a worker who's been retired
- 46:08Speaker 3: than bring on a graduate. Thirty percent even said they
- 46:12Speaker 3: would rather leave the position unfilled if the only other
- 46:19Speaker 3: choice was filling it with a new college graduate. Wow,
- 46:27Speaker 3: the sentiments come despite forty one percent of the responded
- 46:31Speaker 3: saying that their organization is a quote struggling a great
- 46:37Speaker 3: deal bro I went through this to find talent, and
- 46:41Speaker 3: forty seven percent said their company is somewhat struggling. So
- 46:45Speaker 3: why are hiring professionals so down on age new graduates?
- 46:52Speaker 3: Age my god comment, So new graduates feel entitled and
- 46:59Speaker 3: business businesses don't have time for individual entitlements, no appreciation
- 47:05Speaker 3: for the workforce. Young people feel too entitled. The youth
- 47:09Speaker 3: complain and say it's not fair, bunch of spoiled babies.
- 47:13Speaker 4: Okay, so that's one perspective. I dealt with it when
- 47:20Speaker 4: I first got out of the military. So I joined
- 47:23Speaker 4: the army when I was seventeen years old. I got
- 47:27Speaker 4: out of the army the first time. I was nineteen
- 47:30Speaker 4: years old, getting ready to turn twenty years old. I
- 47:34Speaker 4: was a squad leader. I had a lot of responsibility.
- 47:39Speaker 4: I had built up my responsibility in two years in
- 47:42Speaker 4: the infantry. I felt I had leadership skills I had.
- 47:47Speaker 4: I had a lot of responsibility as a nineteen year old.
- 47:49Speaker 4: But I couldn't drink. There was a lot of things
- 47:53Speaker 4: I couldn't do. I got shot at before I could
- 47:56Speaker 4: ever have my first legal drinker. Yeah. So, but when
- 48:01Speaker 4: I got out, businesses looked at me as a punk,
- 48:05Speaker 4: little kid like I ended up just getting in trouble
- 48:09Speaker 4: around here. I joined the military. I was like, I
- 48:11Speaker 4: can't I'm going to end up in jail or get
- 48:13Speaker 4: a girl pregnant out here. I need to get back
- 48:16Speaker 4: away from Vermont because employers, no matter what, even though
- 48:20Speaker 4: you may have all the qualifications and everything else, they
- 48:23Speaker 4: still view you as a young kid and they don't
- 48:26Speaker 4: want to Nobody wants to listen. You have a bunch
- 48:29Speaker 4: of I remember dealing with this in construction too. You
- 48:33Speaker 4: would come along and you'd be like, hey man, I
- 48:34Speaker 4: just went through you shouldn't frame like this, and they
- 48:36Speaker 4: would look right at you and they'd be like, who
- 48:38Speaker 4: the fuck are you. I've been doing construction for twenty years.
- 48:41Speaker 4: I Am not going to listen to you. So maybe
- 48:43Speaker 4: egos are getting in the way. Maybe there's a percept
- 48:47Speaker 4: there's a perception we don't trust the young people. We
- 48:50Speaker 4: never have and that's been throughout the years. Now we
- 48:52Speaker 4: call them just woke liberals or whatever, but it's always
- 48:56Speaker 4: something a different scenario on why the kids are no good?
- 49:00Speaker 4: My parents, my parents, their parents, they've always said the same,
- 49:04Speaker 4: you can't fuck trust kids. You know what I mean.
- 49:07Speaker 4: It's it's what's changing.
- 49:10Speaker 3: You know what's changing.
- 49:11Speaker 4: New generations of people coming up through seeing the same
- 49:13Speaker 4: old stuff we've seen for years.
- 49:15Speaker 3: Well, g just posted your generation didn't grow up with
- 49:19Speaker 3: the entitlement thought process that the youth today have totally
- 49:24Speaker 3: different mindset now, biz journals continue.
- 49:28Speaker 4: I agree, so my kids. I agree with some of
- 49:31Speaker 4: that stuff too. I think it works both ways. But
- 49:34Speaker 4: my kids, like my kids, we've sat down and talked
- 49:36Speaker 4: about this. Kids today take life more serious than a job.
- 49:43Speaker 4: We were trained your job first, then life.
- 49:47Speaker 3: Oh hell yeh.
- 49:48Speaker 4: Kids are like, why you have won? Fuck you? I
- 49:51Speaker 4: am going to live my life and then guess what
- 49:54Speaker 4: I'll work the rest of my life until I die.
- 49:56Speaker 3: Well, that and that's been a shift, even more so
- 49:59Speaker 3: since I think, at least that's my opinion.
- 50:02Speaker 4: I think people are seeing more of their self worth
- 50:07Speaker 4: those days. And I still have I still have friends
- 50:09Speaker 4: of mine their own businesses and they're like, you can't
- 50:11Speaker 4: fucking hire anybody, Well, how are you hiring people? I
- 50:16Speaker 4: tried to hire four guys at fourteen dollars an hour,
- 50:19Speaker 4: and not a one of them would climb up on
- 50:20Speaker 4: this roof.
- 50:21Speaker 3: I was like, yeah, no shit, I do that. Biz
- 50:24Speaker 3: Journals continues here, saying, according to the research, fifty two
- 50:27Speaker 3: percent agree or strongly agree that new college graduates don't
- 50:32Speaker 3: have the right skill sets. Additionally, fifty five percent agree
- 50:36Speaker 3: or strongly agree with the idea that new grads don't
- 50:42Speaker 3: know how to work well on a team, and forty
- 50:46Speaker 3: nine percent yea. Forty nine percent agree or strongly agree
- 50:51Speaker 3: that they have poor business etiquette. Sixty percent agree that
- 50:58Speaker 3: they avoid hiring no new grads because those new employees
- 51:03Speaker 3: don't have enough real world experience. Yep. Fifty four percent
- 51:10Speaker 3: say that it costs too much to train them. Uh
- 51:15Speaker 3: this again, is all in biz journals. Is the source
- 51:20Speaker 3: if you want to read more about it.
- 51:21Speaker 4: I wonder what they say about believable, Well, I wonder
- 51:23Speaker 4: what they say about people coming out of trade schools.
- 51:25Speaker 4: Do they say the same thing about trade schools or
- 51:28Speaker 4: is it just certain sectors. But I could absolutely see
- 51:33Speaker 4: that I wouldn't want somebody fresh out of college, yeah,
- 51:36Speaker 4: with no business experience whatsoever.
- 51:38Speaker 3: When I wus that when I went to high school, and.
- 51:41Speaker 4: It's hard because you have an ego. You just went
- 51:43Speaker 4: to school. Say you went to school for six years
- 51:47Speaker 4: or eight years and you've got a master's degree, and
- 51:49Speaker 4: then this guy looks down on you.
- 51:51Speaker 3: Yeah. Right, It's the same thing.
- 51:52Speaker 4: When I got out of the infantry and these people,
- 51:53Speaker 4: I was like, motherfucker.
- 51:55Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, And I've got two nephew.
- 51:59Speaker 4: It's hard, you get too egos clashing.
- 52:01Speaker 3: Yeah, I got two nephews that are that are in
- 52:03Speaker 3: school right now, in college, and.
- 52:06Speaker 4: You're almost better off to go to the workforce first,
- 52:08Speaker 4: get some experience, and then go to college.
- 52:10Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 52:11Speaker 4: I think college could be a huge help to your experience.
- 52:15Speaker 4: I think college is hard to start, you know what
- 52:19Speaker 4: I mean, come out, just go If you're just going
- 52:22Speaker 4: to school and then you come out for a job.
- 52:25Speaker 4: It's with no I mean I could see that that
- 52:29Speaker 4: would be.
- 52:31Speaker 3: When I went to high school.
- 52:32Speaker 4: The big thing was that back when they top loaded rifles.
- 52:40Speaker 4: The big thing was slavery. Was the core curriculum, it
- 52:51Speaker 4: was science, math, social studies, English. Yeah, there wasn't it.
- 52:58Speaker 4: There wasn't an auto department in my my high school.
- 53:02Speaker 4: There wasn't a building trades department. I wish that there
- 53:06Speaker 4: was because you know, you know who used to teach
- 53:09Speaker 4: us that stuff, our grandparents.
- 53:11Speaker 3: That's right.
- 53:12Speaker 4: Did we talk about this before?
- 53:14Speaker 3: Have you seen me Rex try to screw two two
- 53:20Speaker 3: by fours together? Have you ever witnessed it? Yeah?
- 53:24Speaker 4: We don't. We don't let you have power tools.
- 53:29Speaker 3: Have you seen me try to put up Wayne's coding
- 53:33Speaker 3: stick to podcasting? Have you seen me, yes, try to scat.
- 53:39Speaker 4: I think every kid should learn a trade on their
- 53:44Speaker 4: way up through, especially like graded school, coming up through,
- 53:46Speaker 4: you should have basic building skills because that is really
- 53:52Speaker 4: like like those life skills when everything hits, when the
- 53:57Speaker 4: ship really hits the fan or call it, you're you
- 54:00Speaker 4: need to have a skill.
- 54:01Speaker 3: I mean, listen, I'm making fun of myself. I mean
- 54:04Speaker 3: I could do some some real basics. I can change
- 54:06Speaker 3: a tire on mind, you can probably work on a car.
- 54:08Speaker 3: I cannot work on vehicles. I fucking hate it. Well
- 54:11Speaker 3: I can do I can do a t I can
- 54:12Speaker 3: do it a it can change a flat, and it
- 54:15Speaker 3: can change my oil. Not the goddamn windshow wipers though,
- 54:20Speaker 3: can't do that.
- 54:21Speaker 4: You know what I ran into This was the wildest
- 54:25Speaker 4: thing that I had never run into. I grew up
- 54:29Speaker 4: really really fucking poor, you know what I mean, and
- 54:32Speaker 4: and we we always figured things out. We always you
- 54:38Speaker 4: had to. Then I got out of the army and
- 54:42Speaker 4: we're gonna fast forward like ten years or whatnot, and
- 54:45Speaker 4: I ran into people that would literally lay down and
- 54:50Speaker 4: die like well that's a problem. Yeah, Like what are
- 54:57Speaker 4: you gonna do? Don't know, I'm gonna go back to
- 54:59Speaker 4: bed now. Well, you know what I do. I call
- 55:01Speaker 4: Barcelow construction. No, but I mean, I know.
- 55:04Speaker 3: What you're saying.
- 55:04Speaker 4: There's just like like there's a whole generation of people
- 55:07Speaker 4: that we're taught to give up. Like there's no when
- 55:13Speaker 4: did that? I don't understand how that came about.
- 55:15Speaker 3: Like Taylor, we just got to comment from someone named
- 55:19Speaker 3: Taylor that says, as a soon to be graduate, where
- 55:24Speaker 3: would they expect me to get experience? If nobody is
- 55:28Speaker 3: willing to take a chance and give someone the experience.
- 55:32Speaker 3: So many places require nowadays.
- 55:38Speaker 4: Get into the field first before going to college. That's
- 55:43Speaker 4: it's going to be a real problem. I don't have
- 55:44Speaker 4: the solution to that, but that's a real problem. I
- 55:47Speaker 4: own a business and that would be hard for me
- 55:49Speaker 4: to just take somebody that has book experience only yeah,
- 55:54Speaker 4: and try to apply it to a real world. So
- 55:57Speaker 4: we deal with this once again.
- 55:59Speaker 3: We deal with it.
- 55:59Speaker 4: Instruction engineers and architects will build you things that look
- 56:03Speaker 4: beautiful on paper, but when it comes to applying it
- 56:06Speaker 4: in real life, it's just not practical. It's not it's
- 56:10Speaker 4: it's it's just not. So there's things that cannot be
- 56:13Speaker 4: taught in a book that have to be like the
- 56:17Speaker 4: art of a negotiation, networking being in a business and
- 56:21Speaker 4: just networking representing that business. Uh, those are things that
- 56:27Speaker 4: are not you have to learn, you know. And even
- 56:32Speaker 4: my daughter, like my daughter's never been to college, but
- 56:34Speaker 4: I'm teaching her to run a business. Same with my son.
- 56:37Speaker 4: We invested into them so that they can learn how
- 56:40Speaker 4: to run a business and they're kicking that.
- 56:41Speaker 3: As Yeah, they're doing right, they are, both of them.
- 56:44Speaker 4: They're doing all right.
- 56:46Speaker 3: I just want to say this morning, is we couple
- 56:49Speaker 3: a couple of things I want to get out before
- 56:51Speaker 3: we close out here. I mean it's already ten o'clock.
- 56:55Speaker 3: Joe Altsworth, Yeah, what's all Joe doing well? He's he's
- 56:59Speaker 3: a busy guy this morning. I was hoping to get
- 57:00Speaker 3: him on the air. But here's the message that I
- 57:03Speaker 3: want to get Joe on the air for. With the
- 57:05Speaker 3: snow that's coming, and Joe, Joe has been coming on
- 57:09Speaker 3: the air with me for a long long time to
- 57:12Speaker 3: push this match it when we have a lot of
- 57:14Speaker 3: snow coming, Yep, first and foremost.
- 57:17Speaker 4: Don't park your fucking cars on the street. Is that
- 57:20Speaker 4: good enough, Joe? Like you idiots, you know it's fucking coming.
- 57:25Speaker 4: I think you should just have Putney lined right up
- 57:27Speaker 4: and toll it them away, no warnings, no nothing like
- 57:30Speaker 4: if you're that dumb or that lazy. And that's what
- 57:34Speaker 4: I'm talking about. That like, there's a whole generation of
- 57:37Speaker 4: people like snow's coming. I should probably move my car,
- 57:40Speaker 4: but then i'd have to walk in extra ten feet
- 57:43Speaker 4: if I park my car over there, ah bucket, they'll
- 57:46Speaker 4: probably just toll my car with all my tools inside
- 57:49Speaker 4: of it. Now I won't have a job. Whoe me,
- 57:52Speaker 4: fucking government.
- 57:54Speaker 3: Oh yeah, Joe is always pushing the message with me,
- 58:03Speaker 3: and he's.
- 58:04Speaker 4: He's a city where he can't say there should I.
- 58:06Speaker 3: That's right, I'll push the message for Joe this morning
- 58:11Speaker 3: because he's too busy to hop on the air with us.
- 58:14Speaker 3: Not only what you just said so beautifully and eloquently, Absolutely,
- 58:19Speaker 3: I have away with word. God do you ever? It's amazing.
- 58:23Speaker 3: Just love us in the air here. Absolutely, But check
- 58:29Speaker 3: on your neighbors when when we get this, when we
- 58:31Speaker 3: get a foot of snow, man, it's like if your
- 58:33Speaker 3: neighbors are disabled, if they're elderly.
- 58:36Speaker 4: Yeah, if you go over there, you notice their driveway
- 58:38Speaker 4: and there's no tracks out or anything fucking name Yeah,
- 58:43Speaker 4: oh wait, we don't do that. This twenty twenty three
- 58:46Speaker 4: the year of me.
- 58:50Speaker 3: Check on not only your neighbors to make sure they're
- 58:53Speaker 3: okay and that their heat is on, but also some
- 58:56Speaker 3: basic safety stuff like.
- 58:58Speaker 4: Your vents where you're eating, vents come out. Those things
- 59:01Speaker 4: will get What will happen is the snow will build
- 59:03Speaker 4: up because your venting is down low, and they'll build
- 59:06Speaker 4: up and build ice around it, and you'll stop getting heat.
- 59:08Speaker 4: So make sure your vents are cleared out.
- 59:10Speaker 3: And make sure your gas meters are cleared out too,
- 59:12Speaker 3: so that they're not hit by a shuffle or a
- 59:15Speaker 3: plow or anything like that. Don't clear up these vents
- 59:19Speaker 3: and stuff or meters with a shovel. Do use a broom.
- 59:23Speaker 4: Yeah, same thing on your roof when you if you
- 59:26Speaker 4: feel like you got to pile up there. What makes
- 59:28Speaker 4: people's roofs leak, especially this time of the year, has
- 59:32Speaker 4: nothing to do with a bad roof. It has to
- 59:34Speaker 4: do with bad insulation.
- 59:35Speaker 3: Yeah. Wow, true.
- 59:36Speaker 4: So what happens is you start a leak as a
- 59:39Speaker 4: small leak goes in there, and then as soon as
- 59:41Speaker 4: water hits your insulation, your insulation is no longer working.
- 59:45Speaker 4: That has to be pulled out and replaced.
- 59:47Speaker 3: Have you ever known anyone uh that's that's had a
- 59:51Speaker 3: roof experience like that.
- 59:53Speaker 4: I know every single year people call me up, I
- 59:56Speaker 4: have a bad roof, My roofs leaking. Yeah, nope, it's
- 59:58Speaker 4: a bill of the winter. Did it leak when it
- 59:59Speaker 4: was raining this sum Nope. So what absolutely happened was
- 1:00:03Speaker 4: you've got a leak at some point your insulation was
- 1:00:05Speaker 4: bad or you didn't have any insulation. Yeah, and everybody's like, well,
- 1:00:08Speaker 4: where all the ice is, that's where I have look at,
- 1:00:10Speaker 4: I have so much insulation. You're absolutely right. Yeah, because
- 1:00:13Speaker 4: the snow is melting up where there's no insulation, the
- 1:00:16Speaker 4: water's running down to the bottom, hits the cold part
- 1:00:18Speaker 4: of your roof, builds an ice dam. Then the water
- 1:00:21Speaker 4: hits and it starts to run backwards up underneath your
- 1:00:24Speaker 4: shingles and leaking underneath. So if your roof starts leaking
- 1:00:28Speaker 4: this time of the year, you need to get up there.
- 1:00:31Speaker 4: Don't smash it off with a hatchet. Your best bet
- 1:00:35Speaker 4: is to throw up the hockey pucks they sell them.
- 1:00:38Speaker 4: They're called roof melt. You could throw them right up
- 1:00:40Speaker 4: on your roof and what they'll do is as they
- 1:00:42Speaker 4: as they dissolve, they'll create chase ways to let the
- 1:00:45Speaker 4: water release from your roof. Yeah, you can stop a
- 1:00:48Speaker 4: roof leak like instantly, just by and shoveling the snow,
- 1:00:52Speaker 4: getting the ice and water on. Wow.
- 1:00:55Speaker 3: I also want to say, you know space heaters, don't
- 1:00:59Speaker 3: you know, don't don't heat your home with your gas stove.
- 1:01:03Speaker 3: If you've got a space heater, you know, don't run
- 1:01:05Speaker 3: the kerosene heater in the house.
- 1:01:07Speaker 4: Some little tricks that you can do. If you have
- 1:01:09Speaker 4: flower pots, turn them upside down, put a candle on
- 1:01:12Speaker 4: all the god I've seen that, yeah, and then and
- 1:01:15Speaker 4: then put an oscillating fan.
- 1:01:18Speaker 3: You have seen that. Yep, I've never tried it.
- 1:01:21Speaker 4: It works. It's a radiant heat because you get that
- 1:01:23Speaker 4: stone hot and it stays hot for a long time.
- 1:01:26Speaker 4: If you have radiant if you have electric heaters or
- 1:01:29Speaker 4: radiant heaters, you could put stones on top of it.
- 1:01:31Speaker 4: If you have a red eye, you can put an
- 1:01:33Speaker 4: actual stone on top of it. Make sure it's a
- 1:01:35Speaker 4: heating stone, and then they'll they'll hold the heat fast
- 1:01:38Speaker 4: much longer. Generators, uh, you know, listen, generators. A lot
- 1:01:45Speaker 4: of people get confused with a generator. They run a
- 1:01:49Speaker 4: homeowner's generator and don't realize they're not They're not supposed
- 1:01:53Speaker 4: to be run twenty four hours a day, yeah, the home.
- 1:01:55Speaker 4: And when you burn them out, they won't replace them either.
- 1:01:58Speaker 3: Becky's asking where do you buy them? Nelson's one of
- 1:02:01Speaker 3: our presenting sponsors. They have them.
- 1:02:04Speaker 4: Nelson's is probably one of the best because they have
- 1:02:06Speaker 4: ACE and they carry Generac generators and Generak is like inexpensive,
- 1:02:11Speaker 4: but it's a super good generator. All my generacks have
- 1:02:15Speaker 4: lasted years.
- 1:02:17Speaker 3: Speaking of Nelson's and speaking of generators, they also have
- 1:02:23Speaker 3: CO two detectors, which is important this time of year. Two.
- 1:02:27Speaker 4: Yeah, my mom almost died from carbon monoxide poison because
- 1:02:31Speaker 4: when we lived in a trailer back in the dight.
- 1:02:33Speaker 4: Trailers are just anonymous for CO two.
- 1:02:36Speaker 3: CO two.
- 1:02:37Speaker 4: Yeah, me and my brother we started not feeling well,
- 1:02:40Speaker 4: getting headache, so we went outside and played and we
- 1:02:42Speaker 4: came back in and my mom was out. They called it.
- 1:02:45Speaker 4: I was a little kid. I just the ambulance and everything,
- 1:02:47Speaker 4: and the day she died, like even the fumes of
- 1:02:51Speaker 4: of gasoline would give her a raging headache.
- 1:02:55Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:02:55Speaker 4: CO two poison is no joke.
- 1:02:57Speaker 3: No joke. They've got the detectors over it, Nelson and
- 1:03:00Speaker 3: they also have smoke detectors and fire fire detect fire
- 1:03:03Speaker 3: alarms too.
- 1:03:04Speaker 4: Electric heaters, Yeah, biggest cause of fires with electric heaters.
- 1:03:09Speaker 3: Oh, Becky wants to know where we find the roof
- 1:03:11Speaker 3: hockey pucks, So same thing.
- 1:03:14Speaker 4: Ace all right, right over there. Ace carries them, abaschons
- 1:03:17Speaker 4: carries them. They're called roof melt all right, what are
- 1:03:20Speaker 4: you saying about the election? Electric heaters? The problem with
- 1:03:23Speaker 4: space heaters and what happens with people is they put
- 1:03:26Speaker 4: an extension cord. They'll use like a small, thin extension
- 1:03:30Speaker 4: cord that runs like Christmas lights or something like that.
- 1:03:33Speaker 4: When you run a space heater, do not run it
- 1:03:36Speaker 4: off of anything bigger than a twenty five foot like
- 1:03:39Speaker 4: a ten gate, like a heavy gauge whire. Otherwise you're
- 1:03:44Speaker 4: taking a chance to starting a fire.
- 1:03:45Speaker 3: In your house and not necessarily or plug it in direct.
- 1:03:49Speaker 3: Not necessarily, yeah, plug it in direct, not necessarily a
- 1:03:52Speaker 3: fire that's that's starting in the heater, but rather in
- 1:03:55Speaker 3: the goddamn wall, that's right, which is scary, man.
- 1:03:58Speaker 4: Yeah, the cords burn up all the time. They do that.
- 1:04:01Speaker 4: They'll melt right in place and start a fire inside
- 1:04:03Speaker 4: that on the other side of the plot. No, No,
- 1:04:05Speaker 4: the extension cord. Right at the extension cord, it'll start
- 1:04:09Speaker 4: a fire right where.
- 1:04:10Speaker 3: You plug it in. Nelson's also has shovels, They have
- 1:04:15Speaker 3: roof rakes, they have rock salt, they have snowblowers. They
- 1:04:19Speaker 3: have gas.
- 1:04:21Speaker 4: Remember talking about Bobby Barlett. Yeah, non maintenance of your roof.
- 1:04:25Speaker 4: If your roof leaks because you have an ice build
- 1:04:28Speaker 4: up and a backup, your insurance will not cover non maintenance.
- 1:04:31Speaker 4: Just know that. And it doesn't matter if you have
- 1:04:34Speaker 4: a brand new roof on your roof. They're not made
- 1:04:37Speaker 4: to hold water. Sure, they're made to shed water. So
- 1:04:40Speaker 4: if you create a block and water backs up through,
- 1:04:42Speaker 4: I don't care if you have a brand new roof
- 1:04:44Speaker 4: on there, Yeah, it will leak inside your house.
- 1:04:46Speaker 3: Great point. The snow blowers over at Nelson's are both
- 1:04:50Speaker 3: the electric and gas. They have both. Uh and I
- 1:04:54Speaker 3: should say this too, being that it's Valentine's Day, even
- 1:04:57Speaker 3: last minute Valentine's steak gift ideas.
- 1:04:59Speaker 4: Yeah, get over to Nelson. We have a big storm
- 1:05:02Speaker 4: coming up. We have guys with shovels and ladders if
- 1:05:05Speaker 4: you need. If you need somebody to shovel your roofs
- 1:05:09Speaker 4: with the amount of snow coming, just contact Biers Little
- 1:05:12Speaker 4: Construction Really eight oh two two four nine three two
- 1:05:15Speaker 4: seven six. We always have guys available with shovels and ladders. Really, yeah, absolutely,
- 1:05:21Speaker 4: especially for the big storms.
- 1:05:23Speaker 3: And I also want to say this, if you know
- 1:05:27Speaker 3: someone who is a veteran, an elderly veteran.
- 1:05:33Speaker 4: Anyone elderly. They don't have to be a veteran anybody
- 1:05:36Speaker 4: else elderly, but just yeah, get over and you know,
- 1:05:41Speaker 4: offered it to fucking grumpy old veterans.
- 1:05:45Speaker 3: Hey, uh speaking, you've seen everything they've got going on
- 1:05:51Speaker 3: over at over at the Post Post ten. No, they
- 1:05:55Speaker 3: have so much going on over at the Legion. Yes,
- 1:05:57Speaker 3: the American Legion. That's awesome tonight. I'm glad they're still
- 1:06:01Speaker 3: in town.
- 1:06:01Speaker 4: They were one of the one, one of the only
- 1:06:03Speaker 4: organization that didn't sell out to the banks and everything else.
- 1:06:07Speaker 3: They have Downtown Dan playing tomorrow night. Eight bucks please
- 1:06:13Speaker 3: don't sing, please please eight bucks at the door gets
- 1:06:18Speaker 3: in and then they have their all Veterans Dinner on
- 1:06:21Speaker 3: February twenty seventh at five point thirty. All veterans are welcome,
- 1:06:24Speaker 3: All veterans eat free meat. Bingo coming up, and you know,
- 1:06:29Speaker 3: Marty and Todd can be playing on the twenty second.
- 1:06:31Speaker 3: It's a great time over there. Thanks. I want to
- 1:06:34Speaker 3: mention before I forget a freezing fun for families winter
- 1:06:38Speaker 3: co ed softball tournament.
- 1:06:39Speaker 4: Oh Yeah, it's that time of year.
- 1:06:41Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean it is Friday February twenty eighth through Sunday,
- 1:06:44Speaker 3: March second at the Barrytown reck Fields. We've got a
- 1:06:48Speaker 3: little seven year old who is the recipient this year,
- 1:06:53Speaker 3: Levi from Colchester and he seven years old, had a
- 1:07:00Speaker 3: broke oh and fighting a brain tumor. This is a big,
- 1:07:05Speaker 3: big story, this little Levi. So please remember when you
- 1:07:11Speaker 3: register your team, which the link to do so, as
- 1:07:15Speaker 3: well as a donation page is on Freezing Fun. Doing
- 1:07:20Speaker 3: that or no, they started a lot of stuff. Yeah,
- 1:07:23Speaker 3: they started. Well they're getting older. I mean look at Cass.
- 1:07:26Speaker 4: Yeah, he's got to be what like one hundred and
- 1:07:28Speaker 4: eight Now.
- 1:07:28Speaker 3: He's lost he well he's definitely over one hundred, but
- 1:07:32Speaker 3: i mean look at him, he's lost all the hair
- 1:07:34Speaker 3: on his head. Right, you know these when there's the
- 1:07:40Speaker 3: the general donation page is up there. It's posted get
- 1:07:44Speaker 3: on Freezing Fun for families. But you can also the
- 1:07:46Speaker 3: link is up to register your team too, so if
- 1:07:49Speaker 3: you want to be part of that, do it. This
- 1:07:51Speaker 3: is their twenty fifth year and they're trying. They're close.
- 1:07:58Speaker 3: They're trying to reach a goal of two hundred and
- 1:08:00Speaker 3: seventy five thousand dollars over the last twenty five years.
- 1:08:04Speaker 3: Right now, they're right around a quarter of a million dollars.
- 1:08:07Speaker 4: Wow.
- 1:08:07Speaker 3: And that's been raised organically right here in our freaking backyard.
- 1:08:12Speaker 3: That's cool, Central Vermont, and it's every dime has gone
- 1:08:15Speaker 3: to families that are fighting Pediatricis.
- 1:08:18Speaker 4: You much rather donate to something like that than some
- 1:08:21Speaker 4: huge organization where the CEO is getting all the money,
- 1:08:24Speaker 4: you know what I mean?
- 1:08:25Speaker 3: Or the JD. Green needs a new motorcycle foundation.
- 1:08:29Speaker 4: I see, I'd be down with that.
- 1:08:30Speaker 3: Have you donated to that?
- 1:08:32Speaker 5: No?
- 1:08:32Speaker 4: I donated my own.
- 1:08:36Speaker 3: The Harrisil ski Jump is going on this weekend down
- 1:08:40Speaker 3: in uh.
- 1:08:42Speaker 4: I become a huge hermit, my man, when it comes wintertime.
- 1:08:45Speaker 4: I am an absolute hermit. I fucking hate the gold.
- 1:08:49Speaker 3: Yeah, well, you know many do. But you know, there's
- 1:08:53Speaker 3: all there's a lot of stuff going on. Rutland Winterfest
- 1:08:55Speaker 3: is happening this weekend. We got the Great ice Event
- 1:08:59Speaker 3: happening up in North hero sled dogs and ice skating
- 1:09:02Speaker 3: and see.
- 1:09:03Speaker 4: My sled dog, haven't you? Athena?
- 1:09:07Speaker 3: Athena will respectfully and I hope Athena's not listening this
- 1:09:11Speaker 3: morning because I don't want to offend her, but she's
- 1:09:12Speaker 3: never going to be a sled dog.
- 1:09:14Speaker 4: She absolutely is. She's been pulling her Barbie sleigh all
- 1:09:17Speaker 4: around the house. We're training her.
- 1:09:19Speaker 3: I need a video of that.
- 1:09:22Speaker 4: But let people know my dog is three point two pounds.
- 1:09:25Speaker 3: Why why don't you get Why don't you get Brenda
- 1:09:28Speaker 3: and go up to North Hero to the Great Ice
- 1:09:30Speaker 3: Festival this weekend? Snap on your lace up your figure
- 1:09:35Speaker 3: skates that you have a lot of people. Don't the
- 1:09:39Speaker 3: white ones? Yep? Keep the pink ones at home.
- 1:09:42Speaker 4: Do I wear those soft little fur ankle.
- 1:09:45Speaker 3: Things when I yes, I've seen those and I want
- 1:09:49Speaker 3: to be warm. And those those candy cane striped pump
- 1:09:52Speaker 3: pumps that you've got on them.
- 1:09:55Speaker 4: Let's talk about some candy cane lee attire.
- 1:09:58Speaker 3: Man. I have seen you in your in your spandex
- 1:10:02Speaker 3: and your ice skates, and you are a very talented
- 1:10:04Speaker 3: figure skater. Did you do that? Would like? Were you
- 1:10:07Speaker 3: semi pro figure skater?
- 1:10:11Speaker 4: You absolutely liar. The only thing you were staring at
- 1:10:14Speaker 4: my spandex was that potato.
- 1:10:18Speaker 3: You put the potato in the front or the back.
- 1:10:21Speaker 4: Whatever makes you smile?
- 1:10:22Speaker 3: Man, God, thank you for coming in here man, Thanks
- 1:10:28Speaker 3: for having uh some some insight on some stuff. Thanks
- 1:10:32Speaker 3: for being a complete buffoon. And and but because you
- 1:10:39Speaker 3: are Rex, but you also know how to get just
- 1:10:43Speaker 3: like gee, you can get serious too. And I like that.
- 1:10:46Speaker 3: I like that about you, big big snow coming. I
- 1:10:50Speaker 3: think most of us know that. On Saturday. Uh, you know,
- 1:10:53Speaker 3: there's some news stories that did you see Did you
- 1:10:57Speaker 3: see that that Phil Scott jokingly said that we should
- 1:11:00Speaker 3: change the name of the Connecticut River to the Vermont River.
- 1:11:05Speaker 4: That's fucking hilarious. Whatever, man, Like I said, twenty twenty five,
- 1:11:11Speaker 4: the year of me just joking. You can't even joke
- 1:11:14Speaker 4: no more. Don't joke.
- 1:11:15Speaker 3: No, don't joke. No, don't do it. Not a joke,
- 1:11:19Speaker 3: don't do it. I love youybody.
- 1:11:22Speaker 4: Remember tonight six o'clock we're gonna go over and do
- 1:11:26Speaker 4: some Japanese jiu jitsu. It's a traditional art that teaches
- 1:11:31Speaker 4: you to incapacitate people on the battlefield. This is yeah,
- 1:11:37Speaker 4: like you said, this is like my favorite art.
- 1:11:39Speaker 3: This is ancient.
- 1:11:41Speaker 4: Yeah, it's been around for years where all of your
- 1:11:43Speaker 4: self defense comes from. Yeah, yeah, it's super. Just what
- 1:11:47Speaker 4: play the video that's on my wall? Oh your phone's
- 1:11:50Speaker 4: that in.
- 1:11:51Speaker 3: That Yeah, it's totally dead. But but here's the thing.
- 1:11:55Speaker 3: I'll grab it right now, yep, as soon as we're
- 1:11:57Speaker 3: done here, and I'll share it up so people.
- 1:11:59Speaker 4: Can because once people see it, they'll see what it's about,
- 1:12:03Speaker 4: like it's it's exciting.
- 1:12:05Speaker 3: And listen, let's say this again.
- 1:12:09Speaker 4: It's free for law enforce.
- 1:12:11Speaker 3: It's free for law enforcement.
- 1:12:12Speaker 4: And this is an adult class.
- 1:12:14Speaker 3: Also. If you you know, even if you're kind of
- 1:12:17Speaker 3: remotely interested in this, but you're like, well, I don't
- 1:12:19Speaker 3: know that it's free, get off the couch and come
- 1:12:23Speaker 3: out to Granted City, MMA to.
- 1:12:25Speaker 4: I mean, you gotta. It's tough for the cops because
- 1:12:27Speaker 4: they work weird hours. They have all their own training
- 1:12:30Speaker 4: that they have that they're required and that you know,
- 1:12:34Speaker 4: so to get up after all of that bullshit and
- 1:12:36Speaker 4: then do even more extra training. I get it. It's tough,
- 1:12:40Speaker 4: but it's there, and it's whenever you can pop in,
- 1:12:42Speaker 4: whenever you have the energy to pop in, pop in
- 1:12:45Speaker 4: and WLL. We'll absolutely go over stuff like people grabbing
- 1:12:48Speaker 4: you and you dump them on their head, or just
- 1:12:50Speaker 4: to control people.
- 1:12:52Speaker 3: You and Tante tomorrow morning.
- 1:12:53Speaker 4: Me and Dante tomorrow morning. Absolutely.
- 1:12:56Speaker 3: Where do we see that Dante is a young man
- 1:12:59Speaker 3: who is autistic that you work with at Granite City. Mma,
- 1:13:02Speaker 3: you guys do some live video. Where can we watch
- 1:13:06Speaker 3: the live video?
- 1:13:06Speaker 4: So?
- 1:13:07Speaker 3: I love watching.
- 1:13:08Speaker 4: It, So you can watch it on We'll tag the
- 1:13:11Speaker 4: Granite City page. We'll be on the Dotty Brook page,
- 1:13:14Speaker 4: will be on the aired out page, and it will
- 1:13:16Speaker 4: be on my own personal page there. And we don't
- 1:13:20Speaker 4: so when it comes to Dante, we don't. We don't
- 1:13:23Speaker 4: practice what we're gonna say. It's whatever he says is,
- 1:13:26Speaker 4: of course, it's it's gonna be live, it comes out,
- 1:13:30Speaker 4: and it really depends on how he does. We used
- 1:13:32Speaker 4: to videotape me training with him, but too many people
- 1:13:38Speaker 4: don't understand what's going on, right.
- 1:13:41Speaker 3: Why are you choking him? Whatever?
- 1:13:43Speaker 4: Yeah, they make comments and stuff like that, and I
- 1:13:45Speaker 4: don't subject him to any of those comments. I keep
- 1:13:48Speaker 4: those away. I shield him from that.
- 1:13:50Speaker 3: But you're so good with him.
- 1:13:51Speaker 4: Oh, I love that kid, he's good. I caught myself
- 1:13:53Speaker 4: last night I was actually with working with Clara will
- 1:13:57Speaker 4: White's daughter. Oh no, it wasn't. It was Tracy Haynes's daughter.
- 1:14:02Speaker 4: All right, So uh page, And so I'm sitting there
- 1:14:05Speaker 4: talking to her, and then I caught myself. I'm like
- 1:14:07Speaker 4: rubbing her hand and I'm like, I'm so sorry. I
- 1:14:09Speaker 4: was like, I'm just because Dante always grabs my hand
- 1:14:12Speaker 4: and holds my hand while we're talking and demonstrating, so
- 1:14:15Speaker 4: it was just a habit and I was like, oh my,
- 1:14:17Speaker 4: I'm so sorry that I. I was like, I didn't
- 1:14:20Speaker 4: mean to be weird or anything, but I was just
- 1:14:22Speaker 4: and it was just, you know, I grabbed her hand.
- 1:14:25Speaker 4: I'm rubbing her hand and I'm talking. I was like,
- 1:14:26Speaker 4: why am I doing this? But Dante is, especially when
- 1:14:30Speaker 4: he's nervous, he wants to hold my hand, he wants
- 1:14:32Speaker 4: to groom. Oh yeah, he's such a good kid, man
- 1:14:36Speaker 4: is he is? So I have a lot of fun.
- 1:14:38Speaker 4: I have a ton of fun with with Dante's He's
- 1:14:43Speaker 4: helped me grow a lot as a person myself.
- 1:14:46Speaker 3: Oh, I understand that. I understand that. Listen, man, I
- 1:14:51Speaker 3: appreciate you coming in here. I love having the kickoff
- 1:14:56Speaker 3: of my weekend every Friday morning with you, pal absolutely
- 1:15:00Speaker 3: sharing a cup of coffee and hearing the things that
- 1:15:04Speaker 3: you have to say. Whether I agree with you or not,
- 1:15:07Speaker 3: I just I love having you in here.
- 1:15:08Speaker 4: You don't agree with me with every single thing I say,
- 1:15:11Speaker 4: well that's bullshit. You better agree.
- 1:15:16Speaker 7: I'll beat you up.
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: Yeah,
