- 0:00Speaker 1: I have stacks of information, and Rich has life hacks.
- 0:03Speaker 1: Some of my information today, for example, is music-related. Have
- 0:08Speaker 1: you guys heard about the lawsuit between Olivia Deen and
- 0:13Speaker 1: Bill Withers?
- 0:14Speaker 2: No.
- 0:15Speaker 3: Bill Withers. What's the lawsuit?
- 0:16Speaker 4: What is it?
- 0:17Speaker 1: Grammy's best new artist, Olivia Deen, is being called a.
- 0:21Speaker 4: being sued for plagiarism. Bill Withers does that song, Just
- 0:25Speaker 4: the Two of Us.
- 0:26Speaker 3: Just the two of us. Does she use that or something?
- 0:29Speaker 4: Here's the mashup. I'll compare both songs. It's pretty unbelievable, actually.
- 0:32Speaker 2: I see the crystal raindrops fall And the beauty of
- 0:37Speaker 2: it all Is when the sun comes shining.
- 0:43Speaker 5: Through I've heard it laced in every song And still
- 0:46Speaker 5: the words all come out wrong Doesn't always answer when
- 0:51Speaker 5: you call.
- 0:52Speaker 2: I see the crystal raindrops fall. And the beauty of
- 0:57Speaker 2: it all is when the sun comes shining through.
- 1:03Speaker 5: I've heard it laced in every song. Still the words
- 1:07Speaker 5: all come out wrong. Doesn't always answer when you call.
- 1:12Speaker 3: It's close, but she probably has never heard that song.
- 1:15Speaker 5: No, she's probably heard that song, but it's like, it's
- 1:19Speaker 5: plagiarism if it's copying the words, right?
- 1:21Speaker 3: Like that just sounds like it's a tune, but it
- 1:23Speaker 3: seems like the note, but that happens all the time
- 1:26Speaker 3: in music. Like artists do that all the time. And
- 1:29Speaker 3: maybe there's just one note that's changed that gets her
- 1:31Speaker 3: off the hook.
- 1:31Speaker 4: Well, it happens all the time, but maybe they get
- 1:33Speaker 4: permission when it does happen. There's no lawsuit. Cause I
- 1:35Speaker 4: know that Will Smith did this song. He actually called
- 1:37Speaker 4: it just the.
- 1:38Speaker 5: Two of us.
- 1:38Speaker 3: Well, yeah, but I mean, he was paying tribute to
- 1:40Speaker 3: the original and they got credit and they got money
- 1:41Speaker 3: and all that stuff. But the thing about it is,
- 1:44Speaker 3: it's like her song's not that huge that she's going
- 1:48Speaker 3: to get sued and win. If it was a giant
- 1:50Speaker 3: song like Pharrell Williams' Happy, because that made a lot
- 1:53Speaker 3: of money, they usually favor the person who's suing them.
- 1:57Speaker 6: But she is a big enough star at this point.
- 1:59Speaker 3: Yeah, but I think she's going to get found not guilty.
- 2:02Speaker 3: It's close, but it's not a total rip.
- 2:04Speaker 1: Quicksand may look scary, but experts say it won't swallow
- 2:07Speaker 1: you whole like it does in the movies. If you
- 2:09Speaker 1: get stuck in quicksand, the best thing you can do
- 2:11Speaker 1: is stay calm, spread your weight, wiggle your legs slowly,
- 2:15Speaker 1: and army crawl out. This is from the huge popular
- 2:18Speaker 1: website azfamily.com.
- 2:21Speaker 4: I feel like.
- 2:22Speaker 6: That's so funny. There's so many memes about how, like
- 2:25Speaker 6: as a kid, I thought quicksand would have been a
- 2:27Speaker 6: bigger problem.
- 2:27Speaker 1: I remember from Scooby-Doo cartoons, everyone got stuck in Gilligan's
- 2:31Speaker 1: Island and they got stuck in Quicksand. Some people are
- 2:34Speaker 1: paying $ 200 for a haircut at fancy salons, which is
- 2:36Speaker 1: hard to believe in this economy. The national average cost
- 2:40Speaker 1: of a haircut is $ 56. For women, the average is $ 69,
- 2:43Speaker 1: while men pay $ 43.
- 2:44Speaker 3: Yeah, I think $ 40 is about to go in right there.
- 2:49Speaker 4: I think Kyle's way out of this league.
- 2:50Speaker 6: That's not just a haircut. It's very different when you're
- 2:53Speaker 6: buying full head of hair.
- 2:55Speaker 3: Yeah, she's not getting a haircut. She's getting hair.
- 2:57Speaker 1: Is anybody in here afraid of flying on an airplane?
- 3:00Speaker 6: No, my sister's like deathly afraid of it, though. She's
- 3:03Speaker 6: a terrible flyer.
- 3:04Speaker 1: 13% of people are afraid of flying in an airplane. 51%
- 3:06Speaker 1: aren't afraid at all. 29% say it bothers them slightly.
- 3:11Speaker 1: The only thing that scares me, when I'm on an airplane,
- 3:13Speaker 1: I'm totally fine. When I go to the bathroom and
- 3:15Speaker 1: I'm standing up and I'm peeing in the bathroom, for
- 3:17Speaker 1: some reason at that moment.
- 3:19Speaker 4: I'm like, oh my God. Because the cat's away. I'm
- 3:21Speaker 4: in the air.
- 3:22Speaker 6: You just feel vulnerable?
- 3:23Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 3:23Speaker 1: I'm standing up there and I can feel the pain
- 3:25Speaker 1: and I'm like, I can feel the plane moving.
- 3:26Speaker 4: And I'm like, I'm literally standing up in the air
- 3:29Speaker 4: right now.
- 3:29Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 3:30Speaker 1: According to a new study, countries with more cats per
- 3:34Speaker 1: person had a higher level of happiness.
- 3:37Speaker 3: I'm sure.
- 3:38Speaker 6: I wonder if America is one of those cats.
- 3:40Speaker 4: I didn't click on the link.
- 3:41Speaker 3: Countries, cat countries.
- 3:43Speaker 4: Check out how funny this is and how fun this
- 3:44Speaker 4: would be.
- 3:45Speaker 1: A group of dads in Houston suburbs discovered they could
- 3:47Speaker 1: use drone deliveries to send each other potatoes. So they're
- 3:51Speaker 1: just sending potatoes back and forth on a drone.
- 3:53Speaker 4: Okay. Who do you think has more books written about them?
- 3:56Speaker 4: Abraham Lincoln or John F. Kennedy?
- 3:58Speaker 3: JFK. JFK.
- 3:59Speaker 1: 15,000 books have been written about Abraham Lincoln. 40,000 books
- 4:04Speaker 1: have been written about John F.
- 4:06Speaker 3: Kennedy.
- 4:07Speaker 5: All right.
- 4:07Speaker 4: It is fall. It is autumn.
- 4:09Speaker 1: According to new poll, here are the fall activities that
- 4:12Speaker 1: Americans are looking forward to the most.
- 4:14Speaker 4: What do you think? What do you want to do fall?
- 4:16Speaker 3: Apple picking.
- 4:17Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 4:18Speaker 4: Visiting a pumpkin patch. Number seven. Apple picking. Apple picking. Trick-or-treating.
- 4:23Speaker 4: Apple picking. I don't see apple picking. What about fall leaves?
- 4:27Speaker 3: Look at the leaves.
- 4:27Speaker 1: Watching scary movies was the most popular answer. Pumpkin-flavored food
- 4:31Speaker 1: and drinks. Putting up Halloween decorations. Handing out Halloween candy.
- 4:34Speaker 1: Carving a pumpkin. Dressing up in a costume. Taking a
- 4:37Speaker 1: child trick-or-treating. Going to a Halloween party. And playing tricks
- 4:39Speaker 1: on friends and family and neighbors.
- 4:41Speaker 3: No haunted houses.
- 4:42Speaker 4: There you go. There you go. Yeah, what's up with that?
- 4:44Speaker 3: What's up with that?
- 4:44Speaker 4: Ghost tour.
- 4:45Speaker 3: What about a ghost tour?
- 4:46Speaker 4: What do you got for life hacks, Rich?
- 4:47Speaker 3: Okay, so have you guys ever... walked through a room
- 4:51Speaker 3: and you're like, smells like cigarettes, burnt cigarettes, and there's
- 4:55Speaker 3: no cigarettes in there, that could be a problem. That
- 4:57Speaker 3: could be something wrong with your brain. So you should
- 4:58Speaker 3: get that checked out if you smell that all the time.
- 5:00Speaker 6: I've never smelled that before.
- 5:01Speaker 4: Remember I used to come in here sometimes and I'd
- 5:02Speaker 4: be like, I smell cigarette smoke.
- 5:03Speaker 3: It's usually indicated of a heart problem. So maybe check
- 5:07Speaker 3: that out. Now here's the other one. If you ever
- 5:09Speaker 3: notice an unexplained bitter almond-like smell... You need to leave
- 5:13Speaker 3: that room immediately because that is chemical exposure. Leave the area.
- 5:18Speaker 3: Contact emergency services. There's no bitter almonds in your house.
- 5:21Speaker 3: That is a chemical thing. They say that certain cyanide
- 5:24Speaker 3: compounds can smell like almonds.
- 5:26Speaker 5: Cyanide?
- 5:27Speaker 3: Cyanide.
- 5:28Speaker 6: Jeez.
- 5:28Speaker 3: Yeah, that's bad. Many people can't smell them at all.
- 5:31Speaker 3: So if you're the one that smells the bitter almonds,
- 5:32Speaker 3: get out of there. This life hack could just save
- 5:35Speaker 3: your life right here. Bitter almonds, bad.
- 5:37Speaker 5: Leave. Run.
- 5:38Speaker 3: Take everybody with you. And that life hack can be
- 5:40Speaker 3: found at JohnJaneRich.com.
- 5:41Speaker 1: All right.
- 5:42Speaker 4: Must have hung the beat, ho.
