The Epstein Criminal Enterprise And The Nadia Marcinkova Conundrum (Part 1) · The Epstein Chronicles

• 0:00
Speaker 1: What's up, everyone, and welcome to another episode of the
• 0:02
Speaker 1: Epstein Chronicles. When it comes to the people that enabled
• 0:08
Speaker 1: Jeffrey Epstein, nobody enabled them more than the Core Four,
• 0:14
Speaker 1: and those were the four women that were his most
• 0:17
Speaker 1: trusted assistants, and they, of course were Sarah Kellen Vickers,
• 0:21
Speaker 1: Adriana Ross, Leslie Groff, and Nadia Marsenkova, who I dubbed
• 0:27
Speaker 1: the Core four. Now, of these four women, the only
• 0:32
Speaker 1: woman that I think deserves any kind of second look
• 0:36
Speaker 1: as far as somebody who might have been a victim,
• 0:39
Speaker 1: is Nadia Marsenkova, Especially if the story we heard about
• 0:43
Speaker 1: how she came into Epstein's orbit is true, then I
• 0:47
Speaker 1: think that Nadia Marsenkova and her story deserves a different
• 0:51
Speaker 1: kind of lens than the other women. Now, does that
• 0:55
Speaker 1: mean that she is not responsible for anything she did?
• 0:58
Speaker 1: Of course, not big on self responsibility, and once you
• 1:02
Speaker 1: get to a certain age it's time for that to
• 1:05
Speaker 1: kick in. But we also have to keep in mind
• 1:08
Speaker 1: the psychological issues, the trauma and the bonds that were
• 1:12
Speaker 1: forged under that trauma that led to Nadia doing what
• 1:17
Speaker 1: she did allegedly. So I certainly have some compassion for
• 1:22
Speaker 1: Nadia Marsenkova, and I've been very clear about that over
• 1:24
Speaker 1: the years. When we first started talking about this, I
• 1:28
Speaker 1: looked at Nadia like the rest of those women, right,
• 1:30
Speaker 1: like she was, you know, one of the core four
• 1:33
Speaker 1: who was absolutely draconian and horrible. But as we learn more,
• 1:38
Speaker 1: it was obvious to me anyway that Nadia was a
• 1:41
Speaker 1: little bit different and that there was a situation around
• 1:44
Speaker 1: Nadia that needed to be looked at with some nuance.
• 1:47
Speaker 1: And then, of course, with the Epstein files release, we
• 1:51
Speaker 1: find out that Nadia was a cooperating witness behind the scenes,
• 1:55
Speaker 1: so that certainly goes to her favor. Sarah kellen Vicker
• 1:58
Speaker 1: certainly wasn't cooperating, neither was Leslie Groff or Adriana Ross.
• 2:04
Speaker 1: So I certainly give that credit right and I think
• 2:07
Speaker 1: it shows remorse and it shows that Nadia knows that
• 2:11
Speaker 1: she did something wrong. So today we're gonna talk a
• 2:15
Speaker 1: little bit more about Nadia marson Kova, and to do that,
• 2:18
Speaker 1: we have an article from the BBC headline victim or
• 2:22
Speaker 1: enabler Epstein's girlfriend who could face questions despite plea deal. Girlfriend. Guys,
• 2:29
Speaker 1: come on, do you guys not know the story? Here.
• 2:32
Speaker 1: This article was authored by Tim wee Well and Jacob Pohl.
• 2:39
Speaker 1: During Jeffrey Epstein's first spell in jail, a thirteen month
• 2:42
Speaker 1: sentence for soliciting sex from an underage girl, prison record
• 2:46
Speaker 1: show one woman visiting him sixty seven times. That woman
• 2:51
Speaker 1: was Nadia Marsonkova, or in this article they call her Marchinko.
• 2:57
Speaker 1: Marchinko was Epstein's main girlfriend for seven years, his most
• 3:00
Speaker 1: significant partner after Glenn Maxwell, and in later years an
• 3:04
Speaker 1: assistant pilot of his private plane. She is comparatively unknown
• 3:09
Speaker 1: to the public, but she may soon find herself in
• 3:12
Speaker 1: the spotlight. Tell me you don't know this story. Without
• 3:16
Speaker 1: telling me, you don't know the story. And that's why
• 3:19
Speaker 1: I do this podcast, honestly, because I feel like all
• 3:22
Speaker 1: of you deserve to have you know as close to
• 3:24
Speaker 1: the truth as we can get. You need to know
• 3:26
Speaker 1: all the players on the stage, and you need to
• 3:28
Speaker 1: know where everybody fits in, right, I mean, we have
• 3:30
Speaker 1: a lot of moving parts here, and not everybody is
• 3:34
Speaker 1: the same. Marchenko is one of four women who are
• 3:38
Speaker 1: named as Epstein's potential co conspirators in a two thousand
• 3:41
Speaker 1: and eight plea deal that granted them immunity from prosecution.
• 3:45
Speaker 1: Now two of those women, Epstein assistant Sarah Kellen and
• 3:49
Speaker 1: Leslie Groff, are about to be questioned by US legislators.
• 3:53
Speaker 1: One congresswoman wants all four, including Adriana Ross, another Epstein assistant,
• 3:58
Speaker 1: and Marchinko, to be investigated despite the plea deal. And look,
• 4:02
Speaker 1: words matter, what do you mean despite the plea deal?
• 4:05
Speaker 1: The plea deal should be null and void. Epstein violated
• 4:08
Speaker 1: that plea deal the second he left jail. That Npa
• 4:12
Speaker 1: should be thrown away yesterday. And the fact they're not
• 4:15
Speaker 1: even talking about that, well, it shows you that we
• 4:18
Speaker 1: should be. Marsan Kova has never been accused of or
• 4:21
Speaker 1: charged with any crime. Her lawyers say she's one of
• 4:24
Speaker 1: Epstein's victims. But girls in Palm Beach, Florida, whose testimony
• 4:28
Speaker 1: about their abuse when they were underage led to Epstein's
• 4:31
Speaker 1: conviction in two thousand and eight, told the police that
• 4:34
Speaker 1: Marchinko participated in that abuse. Look, Nadia was so under
• 4:41
Speaker 1: the spell of Jeffrey Epstein that it's not even funny.
• 4:46
Speaker 1: This girl was coerced, she was groomed, and all of
• 4:50
Speaker 1: this was normalized from a young age. Imagine being ripped
• 4:53
Speaker 1: from your parents, sold whatever it was, and you get
• 4:57
Speaker 1: brought into this life of the bauchery and degeneracy and
• 5:00
Speaker 1: everybody's involved in it, and you're some girl from Slovakia.
• 5:04
Speaker 1: You don't know the first thing about the first thing. Ah,
• 5:07
Speaker 1: this is how the Americans live great perfect The whole
• 5:11
Speaker 1: entire thing is fucking heinous. The BBC has spent months
• 5:17
Speaker 1: interviewing those who have met Marchenko and scrutinizing every email
• 5:21
Speaker 1: we could find between her and Epstein in the files
• 5:24
Speaker 1: to try and build the detailed picture of her role
• 5:26
Speaker 1: in the disgraced financier's life. The emails reveal Epstein and
• 5:31
Speaker 1: Marsankova wanted to start a family together, we have discovered.
• 5:35
Speaker 1: The BBC has also found evidence suggesting that, over many years,
• 5:39
Speaker 1: he asked her to recruit other women to help satisfy
• 5:41
Speaker 1: his sexual desires, and she complied. Look, there's no doubt
• 5:45
Speaker 1: that Nadia has to answer questions, But like I said before,
• 5:50
  Speaker 1: I think it's nuanced and I think it's more than
• 5:53
Speaker 1: just black and white here, whereas with Sarah Kellen Vickers,
• 5:57
Speaker 1: Oh it's black and white. That lady part of the problem,
• 6:01
Speaker 1: That lady part of the Enterprise that lady, in my opinion,
• 6:05
Speaker 1: should be indicted, but the emails also exposed deeply course
• 6:09
Speaker 1: of tendencies on the part of Epstein. Marsenkova later told
• 6:14
Speaker 1: investigators that he was physically violent, choking her and throwing
• 6:17
Speaker 1: her down a flight of stairs. We have had access
• 6:20
Speaker 1: to her account to investigators via a document that was
• 6:23
Speaker 1: released heavily redacted by the US Department of Justice in January.
• 6:28
Speaker 1: Marchenko's name is not visible, but the five pages of
• 6:31
Speaker 1: testimony match in every detail what we know about her
• 6:34
Speaker 1: from other sources. The BBC contacted Marsenkova for a comment,
• 6:39
Speaker 1: but she did not reply. Since Epstein's death in prison
• 6:42
Speaker 1: of twenty nineteen, awaiting further sex charges, she has disappeared
• 6:46
Speaker 1: from public view. She's not going to talk to them,
• 6:49
Speaker 1: zero chance, zero chance. Back in the day when I
• 6:54
Speaker 1: used to do live streams, Nadia actually popped into one
• 6:58
Speaker 1: of those live streams over on Facebook. She didn't say anything,
• 7:01
Speaker 1: but she was there lurking. And I think that Nadia
• 7:06
Speaker 1: wants to tell her story, but I think she's scared,
• 7:09
  Speaker 1: and I don't blame her, honestly, I really don't. But
• 7:12
Speaker 1: if I could give her advice, it would be to
• 7:15
Speaker 1: get out in front of all of it. And I
• 7:17
Speaker 1: think that if she tells her story and she does
• 7:19
Speaker 1: it truthfully, that she's gonna find that a lot of
• 7:21
Speaker 1: people are receptive to it. Now, does that mean that
• 7:24
Speaker 1: she should be, you know, granted forgiveness, that there should
• 7:28
Speaker 1: be no legal consequences. I'm not saying that that's not
• 7:31
Speaker 1: up to me. That's up to an investigation. That's up
• 7:35
Speaker 1: to looking at the evidence. That's up to talking to psychologists,
• 7:39
Speaker 1: you know, the whole thing. But from the evidence we have,
• 7:41
Speaker 1: from what we know, I think that the Nadia Marsenkova
• 7:44
Speaker 1: question is one of the hardest to answer, And this
• 7:47
Speaker 1: is a topic that I go back and forth on.
• 7:49
Speaker 1: Of course, I feel like Nadia was mistreated. I feel
• 7:52
Speaker 1: like she was coerced, and I feel like she was groomed.
• 7:56
Speaker 1: But also I feel bad for the girls who were
• 7:58
Speaker 1: abused by her and Epstein. At the same time, their
• 8:02
Speaker 1: abuse matters too. So when I say this is one
• 8:04
Speaker 1: of those questions that really doesn't have any good answers,
• 8:07
Speaker 1: that's what I mean. So the question is how do
• 8:09
Speaker 1: we navigate the waters and do it in a way
• 8:13
Speaker 1: that is fair to everybody? Fair to the people who
• 8:16
Speaker 1: were abused and fair to Nadia, who was abused but
• 8:20
Speaker 1: also did some abusing. I think that that's a valid
• 8:23
Speaker 1: question and it's a valid debate. The calls for investigation
• 8:31
Speaker 1: into Marsankova have raised important questions about whether a victim
• 8:34
Speaker 1: of sexual coercion can also be deemed and accomplice. Definitely
• 8:38
Speaker 1: a tough question, and I wish I was qualified to
• 8:41
Speaker 1: answer it. All I can give is my opinion, and
• 8:44
Speaker 1: I think that I go on a case by case
• 8:45
Speaker 1: basis wherever the evidence takes me. I don't believe all women.
• 8:49
Speaker 1: I don't believe all this one. I believe the evidence,
• 8:52
Speaker 1: and wherever the evidence takes me, that's where I'm going
• 8:54
Speaker 1: to drift. Marchinko was born Nadia Marsankova into a comfortably
• 9:00
Speaker 1: off respected family in Slovakia. She told federal investigators who
• 9:05
Speaker 1: interviewed her after Epstein's death that she had first met
• 9:08
Speaker 1: the financier in New York in two thousand and three,
• 9:11
Speaker 1: when she was eighteen, at a birthday party for Jean
• 9:14
Speaker 1: lu Brunel, a close friend of Epstein's. Brunel ran the
• 9:18
Speaker 1: New York branch for the agency in Paris and Brunell
• 9:21
Speaker 1: brought her to the US a few weeks before his
• 9:23
Speaker 1: party on a visa that he had arranged. Well, is
• 9:27
Speaker 1: that true, I don't know. We've heard she was fourteen. Now,
• 9:33
Speaker 1: if it's true that she was eighteen when she came
• 9:35
Speaker 1: into Epstein's orbit, that changes the conversation. This seems to
• 9:39
Speaker 1: be backed up by email chains the BBC traced in
• 9:43
Speaker 1: the Epstein files that reveal years afterward, Marsinkova and Epstein
• 9:48
Speaker 1: celebrated the same date, September seventeenth, as her anniversary. I
• 9:53
Speaker 1: don't believe she was eighteen. Sorry, I don't believe that,
• 9:56
Speaker 1: not for a minute. Marsonkova was an unlikely Internet national model,
• 10:00
Speaker 1: says a primary school classmate who were calling Joseph. Though
• 10:04
Speaker 1: she was beautiful, she was very shy, what we call
• 10:07
Speaker 1: seta miska, a little gray mouse. She began modeling as
• 10:12
Speaker 1: a teenager, with assignments soon taking her to Japan and Taiwan,
• 10:16
Speaker 1: she once told a Slovak newspaper. A few days after
• 10:20
Speaker 1: she met Epstein at Brunell's party, Epstein invited her to
• 10:23
Speaker 1: his mansion in Palm Beach, Marsenkova told investigators, and from
• 10:28
Speaker 1: there flight logs confirmed she went on to his private
• 10:31
Speaker 1: Caribbean island, Little Saint James. She was legally an adult,
• 10:35
Speaker 1: but the imbalance between them in power, wealth and age
• 10:38
Speaker 1: was huge. Epstein was already fifty, so thirty two years
• 10:43
Speaker 1: her senior. I don't know if I believe the age.
• 10:47
Speaker 1: Can we get some confirmation on that? Because Brunell sponsored
• 10:52
Speaker 1: her visa and because Epstein bankrolled Brunell's agency to the
• 10:56
Speaker 1: tune of a million dollars, she felt, she later told
• 10:58
Speaker 1: investigators at Epstein could have her deported with a single
• 11:01
Speaker 1: phone call to Brunel. Immigration fraud use for the trafficking
• 11:06
Speaker 1: ring another example. How many more examples do people need?
• 11:11
Speaker 1: So even if you don't believe the widespread human trafficking
• 11:14
Speaker 1: of children, how can you try and deny this? And
• 11:20
Speaker 1: this is one of my biggest problems when it comes
• 11:22
Speaker 1: to the people who only want to talk about salacious nonsense.
• 11:25
Speaker 1: I know it drives engagement and I know it gets
• 11:28
Speaker 1: you a bag, but it also screws everything up when
• 11:31
Speaker 1: it comes to perspective. I mean, some of the comments
• 11:34
Speaker 1: I see people make when it comes to this topic
• 11:36
Speaker 1: is it's just insane people that have no business talking
• 11:40
Speaker 1: about this subject, act like there's some kind of foremost
• 11:43
Speaker 1: authority on it, and it's just bananas to see because
• 11:48
Speaker 1: anybody who knows this case, anybody who knows what Epstein
• 11:50
Speaker 1: was up to, anybody who knows the kind of shit
• 11:53
Speaker 1: they like to do, then they know that it all
• 11:55
Speaker 1: started with immigration fraud and that didn't just happen, you know, paneously.
• 12:00
Speaker 1: There were people in the immigration office helping them. Who
• 12:03
Speaker 1: are those people? Why haven't they been outed? Are we
• 12:05
Speaker 1: ever going to get an investigation into that? She traveled
• 12:08
Speaker 1: with them constantly, she told investigators, and emails both in
• 12:12
Speaker 1: their tone and content, suggests they rapidly became a couple.
• 12:16
Speaker 1: Glenn Maxwell was still Epstein's close friend and was finding
• 12:20
Speaker 1: other women for him, but their sexual relationship was coming
• 12:23
Speaker 1: to an end. Our research suggests Marsenkova was now his
• 12:27
Speaker 1: main girlfriend. The email show but though there's plenty a
• 12:31
Speaker 1: sentiment in the emails, and Epstein writes to someone else
• 12:34
Speaker 1: in two thousand and nine that I am in love
• 12:36
Speaker 1: with Naudia, the exchanges also reveal how domineering you was.
• 12:41
Speaker 1: An email from that year gives a flavor of what
• 12:43
Speaker 1: he seems to have expected from her. I want you
• 12:46
Speaker 1: to learn how to cook eggs scrambled poached over easy.
• 12:49
Speaker 1: I want you to learn how to run a house.
• 12:51
Speaker 1: I want no arguments during the Monday to Friday week.
• 12:54
Speaker 1: I want you to read one of the one hundred
• 12:56
Speaker 1: great books every month. I want beautiful things only in
• 12:59
Speaker 1: the house. You cannot put anything in without letting me
• 13:02
Speaker 1: see it first. That seems like a very very great
• 13:05
Speaker 1: two way relationship. Huh, don't put anything in the house
• 13:09
Speaker 1: without letting me see it first. Boy should try running
• 13:12
Speaker 1: that ship by my girlfriend. Hey, babe, I don't think
• 13:15
Speaker 1: you should buy anything before I can give it a look.
• 13:19
Speaker 1: That's like in the top ten of things not to
• 13:20
Speaker 1: say to an Italian American woman. But all kidding aside,
• 13:23
Speaker 1: that's the way Jeffrey Epstein talked to everybody. Every single
• 13:26
Speaker 1: relationship was built on domination. After his death, Martankova told
• 13:31
Speaker 1: investigator as Epstein had controlled every aspect of her life,
• 13:34
Speaker 1: including her weight and clothing. She said that he forced
• 13:38
Speaker 1: her to have multiple plastic surgeries and physically abused her.
• 13:42
Speaker 1: We have not found any direct mention of those incidents
• 13:45
Speaker 1: in their email exchanges, but that does not mean they
• 13:47
Speaker 1: do not exist somewhere in the files. In one email
• 13:51
Speaker 1: we found, she accuses them of abusive partner behavior, and
• 13:55
Speaker 1: there is repeated reference to Epstein's expectation that Marsankova will
• 13:59
Speaker 1: scout for other women or girls for him. And I
• 14:03
Speaker 1: want you to keep in mind that that was part
• 14:05
Speaker 1: of Jeffrey Epstein's trap. Once you've started getting girls for him,
• 14:09
Speaker 1: you're a part of the enterprise. You have criminal culpability,
• 14:13
Speaker 1: and now he holds that over your head as well
• 14:15
Speaker 1: as the immigration stuff. Look when I tell you there's
• 14:18
Speaker 1: levels to this shit, this is what I'm talking about.
• 14:21
Speaker 1: I don't know if we've ever dealt with somebody as
• 14:24
Speaker 1: nefarious is Jeffrey Epstein. All right, folks, we're gonna wrap
• 14:27
Speaker 1: up episode one right here, and in the next episode
• 14:30
Speaker 1: we're gonna pick up where we left off. All the
• 14:32
Speaker 1: information that goes with this episode can be found in
• 14:35
  Speaker 1: the description box.
