Our Professional Thieves
It’s easy to blame the taxman but the deeper problem is us. When we demand subsidies, special services, and benefits from the state, we are asking civil authorities to take money from our neighbors by force. The theft may be legal, but the guilt is shared.
Scripture is clear: “Thou shalt not steal” (Exod. 20:15). Ordering theft through the state is still theft. When stealing is called virtue, society becomes a jungle and judgment follows. God’s way is different: honest labor, personal responsibility, and generosity born of obedience (Eph. 4:28).
