- 0:00The Nets lose their star play. They lose their star closer.
- 0:04The Nets are in a bad spot right now.
- 0:12I've never seen a Ranger team quick before the Olympics.
- 0:14We're going to be looking at Aaron Judge and saying that he
- 0:17can't win the big game, Michael Jordan said.
- 0:19I played 82 games. You don't see LeBron doing that,
- 0:23but Jack Hughes did after getting his teeth knocked out to
- 0:26play every single shift he got back in the game.
- 0:30I'm going to fight him off A7 Nation, how he couldn't hold me
- 0:35back. They're going to RIP me off,
- 0:38take it down, go on Black Destiny Fest.
- 0:41Can I talk it to myself at night?
- 0:44Because I can't go there back and forth through my mind
- 0:57behind the scene. Into the New York sports.
- 1:33This is the money shot. Come on, man.
- 1:34This is this is the future of basketball.
- 1:36OK? This is entertainment.
- 1:37Don't hate to play it, hate the game now.

- 2:47Concrete Jungle Carousel. Welcome to the jungle, we got
- 2:53fun and games. You know where you are.
- 2:56What did you do in? The jungle baby welcome.
- 2:58I'm trying to put Tiger Bomb on this jungle's nuts to the
- 3:01concrete jungle. Carousel, you're gonna.
- 3:04Die. Make her squirt.
- 3:11Make me jerk. All right guys, welcome back to
- 3:16the Concrete Jungle carousel. We're going to cover all the
- 3:20news in all the sports in the tri-state Air.
- 3:22We're going to cover some minor Yankees and stuff before we
- 3:25leave baseball. Just some contracts signed by
- 3:28the Mets. Guess who joined the roster of
- 3:30the Mets to a minor league contract on the 40 man Mr. Tommy
- 3:34Pham is back on the Mets roster. Tommy Pham one of the more
- 3:39controversial guys in Major League Baseball.
- 3:42But he's he's been a good hitter a lot of his career.
- 3:46Maybe some depth in the outfit you were talking about earlier.
- 3:49Obviously bench was brought up right off the bat.
- 3:52Minter was put on the IL. He's going to.
- 3:56He's still recovering from left lat surgery.
- 3:59For the Yankees. They look they they still got
- 4:03three guys on the IL that are coming back, Cole Rodon and
- 4:06Volpe. We don't really talk about when
- 4:07Volpe's coming back. Volpe's coming back.
- 4:09It looks like going to be around the same time as the two of
- 4:12those guys, somewhere between the end of April and May.
- 4:15And the Yankees signed and activated to the main roster
- 4:19Randall Grichuk, who was a nice platoon bat off the bench.
- 4:25Well, I like Tommy Pham. I I think if you're a Mets fan
- 4:28and you get him on the cheap, you bring him up, he he's a
- 4:31good, he's a competent hitter in the major leagues.
- 4:34We've seen it. I remember when he was at Saint
- 4:36Louis, even when he was with the Mets, he hit the ball very, very
- 4:38well. And I was very, I was very
- 4:41surprised that the Mets let him go and, and decided to move him.
- 4:43But I think this is a good move for the Mets.
- 4:46Obviously he adds some depth to the outfield.
- 4:48This is a guy that can hit for average.
- 4:50You can put him as ADH and sometimes when this kid gets
- 4:53hot, he can get really, really hot.
- 4:55As far as the Yankees are concerned, Volpe being hurt, I
- 4:59think it gives him a little bit more time.
- 5:00I don't know if he's really hurt, but the Yankees are giving
- 5:03him a little bit more time. He didn't.
- 5:05He was up and down throughout spring training.
- 5:06When I did get a chance to see him.
- 5:08I I want to see his defense. I'm more worried about his
- 5:11defense than his offense. We saw what happened last year.
- 5:14He had the yips. He couldn't throw to first base.
- 5:17He barely can get it to 2nd. I mean, this guy would a Gold
- 5:20Glove two years ago and he couldn't even throw.
- 5:22He became Chuck Noblock. That's what he became.
- 5:25So that's the guy that really stands out to me.
- 5:29Grit Chuck is is a good player. We've seen him.
- 5:31He's a journeyman. He can hit for you could put him
- 5:34in your line up. He can hit for it.
- 5:35He could play multiple outfield positions.
- 5:38I think he also could play infield too.
- 5:40So I. Think he played a little third
- 5:42I. Believe so.
- 5:43You can move him around in on the field if you need some
- 5:45depth. So it wasn't a bad signing.
- 5:48They didn't really have to give up much to get him, so I'm not
- 5:51surprised they brought him as a Plutoon platoon guy.
- 5:53Yeah, I was going to say that you look at the the depth that
- 5:56the Yankees are going to bring in with a lot of these
- 5:58outfielders that they have. And Volpe, I think you're right,
- 6:01they're trying to ease him back again.
- 6:02I don't think his problems a lot of the last year were medical.
- 6:05I think it was just more of, yeah, like you said, the yips.
- 6:07He was trying to get his own head and it affected his
- 6:09offensive game too, as far as the four man.
- 6:11Was he trying to get in his own head or trying to get head well?
- 6:14Maybe that's so maybe maybe maybe leaning it, maybe leaning
- 6:19in would better, but Fat Joe wouldn't allow that.
- 6:21But. He'll be leaning back.
- 6:22He'll be leaning back. He's trying to.
- 6:24He's leaned back into the Yankees good graces with the end
- 6:26of the season. He did have though, so the
- 6:27Yankees I think are trying to ease him back as as far as the
- 6:30Mets bring in Tommy Famine. This was the same guy that took
- 6:32shots to the Mets team culture in 2020.
- 6:33Three who? Cares, Hopefully he doesn't make
- 6:35comments like that again, but I do like them better than a lot
- 6:37of the other. Outfielders, he'll get along
- 6:39with Juan Soto, Lindor. They're both idiots, so they,
- 6:41they, they like to talk behind each other's back.
- 6:43So why not? Tommy Fam will be the third guy.
- 6:45The Three Stooges right there. Perfect for the Mets.
- 6:48Hope not. All right, so we're just going
- 6:51to go quickly because we're going to run out of time And I
- 6:54we don't have a lot to talk about with the Knicks and that's
- 6:56because we're not going to talk about the Nets, But we will talk
- 6:59about Miles McBride coming back on Sunday against the Thunder.
- 7:03Bring the whole squad back to full health basically for the
- 7:06first time in a long time, allowing them to now have that
- 7:11combo guard kind of hustle guy that they may have been missing
- 7:15in the lineup all along. How do they fit him back in that
- 7:18rotation? We'll find out.
- 7:20But the best story from Nick's world is Stephen A Smith taking
- 7:24shots at Josh Hart, saying he should shut his mouth if he
- 7:27can't average 10 points a game and then Hart calling him a part
- 7:31time Knicks fan. All right, so I'll get into the
- 7:35Josh Hart thing because Josh Hart is one of the best two way
- 7:38players the Knicks have, one of the leaders of the New York
- 7:41Knicks. If he scores 10 points, 12
- 7:43points or 13 points or even eight points, he does things
- 7:46better than everybody in the league at his position.
- 7:48He rebounds at his size, he's one of the better rebounders at
- 7:51his size. He plays defense to multiple
- 7:53positions and he's a team leader.
- 7:55We don't need Josh Hart to score 10 or more points.
- 7:59We just need him to play his game.
- 8:01So Stephen A Smith who can't even hit a lick, that guy can't
- 8:04shoot. I've seen him on the TNT show,
- 8:06I've seen him on ESPN try to shoot.
- 8:08That guy can't shoot. And then he says he played
- 8:10college basketball. With who?
- 8:12Who did he play college ball with?
- 8:14I would love to hear that one. That's one number two with the
- 8:17Knicks. McBride is a nice addition, but
- 8:20the guy that I think you've you guys are missing is what Carl
- 8:23Anthony Towns has done over the last three weeks.
- 8:26Carl Anthony Towns is slowly showing people that you can you
- 8:30can run your offense through him.
- 8:32If Jalen Brunson's not having a big day and that's what they're
- 8:35doing. They're starting to use him as a
- 8:38guy that's the number one guy when even when Jalen Brunson's
- 8:41out there, they're feeding him the ball and we're seeing
- 8:43consistency now. He's averaging in the last
- 8:46couple of weeks. The last two weeks he's
- 8:48averaging 24 and 11. And when you're doing that,
- 8:51that's what you accept expect from your superstar big man, one
- 8:54of the best shooting big man in the NBA when he's playing at a
- 8:57high level, not 80 foot jumpers, not 70 foot jumpers and trying
- 9:00to be Steph Curry. Just playing your own game and
- 9:03he's doing things that we haven't seen him do last year
- 9:06and that's get in the paint, defend the paint and put his
- 9:10body on the line. When you see something like
- 9:12that, he's all in. So that's the big story.
- 9:15It's not McBride. I know everybody keeps saying,
- 9:17well, we need McBride. Do we really?
- 9:20He probably don't play a lot of a lot of minutes in the
- 9:22playoffs. He really doesn't.
- 9:23He plays 20 minutes, 22 minutes last year with Tom Thibodeau and
- 9:26he's not going to play a lot of minutes this year because
- 9:28they're going to play. They're going to try to play
- 9:30big. The Knicks are going to try to
- 9:31play big against these teams like Detroit and and the
- 9:35Celtics. The Celtics are a small team.
- 9:37They're not big. The Knicks are a big team.
- 9:39When they have the other guys, you making faces.
- 9:41The Celtics are. What when, when, When have the
- 9:43cesses been small? I think Cat going to shoot you
- 9:47guys out that's this is an issue.
- 9:49He's playing big now, but once you start getting them later,
- 9:52later in the season and start getting to the playoffs, he's
- 9:54going to start going back shooting threes and then you
- 9:57guys going to be in trouble. Oh, really, you guys?
- 9:59Why? Because you're a Celtic fan?
- 10:01Is that why? Yeah.
- 10:02Fortunately. It figures.
- 10:03It figures. That's why you were trying to
- 10:05throw a curveball. But guess what?
- 10:07If you look at the Celtics in their size in the Eastern
- 10:09Conference right now, they're not in the top 10 when it comes
- 10:12to size. Size.
- 10:14Size in the NBA? Size.
- 10:16Yeah, they're not in the top 10. Who?
- 10:20Who just wanted to where they're.
- 10:21They're outside the top ten. I think they're 13 or 14.
- 10:25Well, I'm looking it up right now.
- 10:26They have. In the East, no.
- 10:28In the league, in the league, they only have one seven footer
- 10:32on the team. It's Kata.
- 10:34And then they have a couple of guys that are 610 that don't
- 10:37play Vuchevich, who's hurt and doesn't look like the same guy
- 10:40at six nine. And then it's Tillman is 68,
- 10:44Tatum 68, Minot and Hauser. All these guys are are.
- 10:48Just like that. Yeah, but the giant, the giant,
- 10:52the Knicks have. Mitch.
- 10:54You got no answer for Mitch. Mitch is a problem.
- 10:58Mitch who we. Say Mitch Who?
- 11:01Hey, beta's free throws. Are the Joel and Bingos who
- 11:04Mitches? Oh, we whooped them to this
- 11:08tough outing. I like the hype.
- 11:10And Stephen A actually played for West Southern States, so OK.
- 11:13That's what he averaged 1.4. Points a game, Yes, and.
- 11:17He sucked and he's attacking a a good player in the NBA, Josh
- 11:21Hart. If I'm Josh Hart, I'm just
- 11:23slandering him on my my my podcast.
- 11:25He's also fired playing out of possession considering.
- 11:27His role? I mean, he don't have no no
- 11:30place to even speak on what Josh Hart should be doing.
- 11:33But they they can't take away. Yeah, Stephen, a average one
- 11:37point with the southern state. All right.
- 11:41You know, we got to be honest up here, you know?
- 11:43It was it's one more than one 1.4 more points at Salem State
- 11:47than I got. So it's it's a great job by him.
- 11:51Let's get to football. The the Giants and Jets were
- 11:54both at the Ohio State pro day. It's all about the pro day.
- 11:58They have three guys expected to go in the top 10 down, four
- 12:01guys, Downs, Tate, Reese and Styles.
- 12:05Everyone wanted to know. The Jets are very impressed with
- 12:09Reese. They're linked to taking him at
- 12:11two people like Bailey from Texas Tech.
- 12:14But you know, Reese had the jump out of the gym stats in the
- 12:17combine. They're trying.
- 12:19The Jets are going to try to have a workout with Ty Simpson.
- 12:22And. Well, I know you said you don't
- 12:24want this to happen. No, I like it.
- 12:25I I, I told you. Was it you or Josh round,
- 12:28though? Yeah, in the first round.
- 12:29Why not 16? If you think he's your guy, if
- 12:33you think he's your guy, and I've heard, I've watched his
- 12:36footwork at the combine. He was sensational.
- 12:39He looked as good as a quarterback has played at the
- 12:42combine in the last three years. He threw the ball very, very
- 12:45well. He's got a very strong arm.
- 12:47They say that he has a better arm than Mendoza.
- 12:49So I'm just saying if, if The Jets think he's their guy and
- 12:53they're going to sit him behind Geno Smith for one year, you do
- 12:56not play in this year. You let him sit behind Geno
- 12:58Smith for a full year. Let him learn in the offense on
- 13:02the right and then you bring them in next year, early in the
- 13:05next year season. If you think he's your guy, if
- 13:07you think absolutely slam dunk, but you can't watch a combine.
- 13:12You have to watch film. And I'll tell you this, the
- 13:15Alabama Crimson Tide didn't have the talent over the years they
- 13:18had this year, they really didn't have that kind of talent.
- 13:21They didn't have a star wide receiver on a top first round
- 13:24draft pick. They didn't have that.
- 13:25And and Ty was up for a Heisman Trophy this year and before he
- 13:30fell out the last month. So I know a lot of people are
- 13:33like, I don't know if I go after Ty, he's too small, He's got big
- 13:36hands, he's got great footwork. If The Jets think he's the guy
- 13:39and you're going to send him out the whole season, do it.
- 13:42I I'm I'm all for it. That's all I'm going to say
- 13:45about that. So and as.
- 13:46Far as Reese. As far as Reese, as far as Reese
- 13:49is concerned, it could be raised Reese, it could be Bain, Styles,
- 13:52any one of these guys, I just want them to play.
- 13:54I want them to fit the defense. If if they think Reese is the
- 13:57guy that's going to fit their defense and they're going to
- 13:59move all over the field and cause havoc for the quarterback,
- 14:02so be it. Draft Reese, but.
- 14:04Make So what do you so who so who do you like Reese out of
- 14:06those 3? I like Reese and Bane.
- 14:10So which way did you choose? I wanted, I like Bain, but Bain,
- 14:14they're saying I have to see him in his pro day and they're
- 14:17saying he has very small arms. So I don't know how that works
- 14:21in the NFL now. It has worked for some guys.
- 14:24He said that about Von Miller and Von Miller was really good.
- 14:27So I'm just saying I'm not calling Bain Von Miller.
- 14:31But Reese is just like a physical specimen.
- 14:34This guy's got long arms. He's tall, he's athletic, he's
- 14:37big. Maybe a lot of people think his
- 14:40style is more like a Micah Parsons.
- 14:42If he's anything like Micah Parsons, The Jets have a slam
- 14:46dunk right there. So I I trust in Moji.
- 14:50I don't want Aaron Glenn picking the guy.
- 14:52I want Moji picking the guy. He's done a lot of things good
- 14:54this offseason. It's a slam dunk if Moji goes
- 14:57after the guy that he wants, not what Aaron Glenn wants.
- 15:01Because he was sleeping at the compound.
- 15:03Yeah. He was sleeping.
- 15:04He was sleeping during the game. He was out of control, talented
- 15:08wise, but I don't necessarily think he's the best pick for
- 15:11number 2. I think they're going to pick
- 15:13him at #2 but I don't think he's the best pick for that style of
- 15:16defense that they're playing. And so I think that they should
- 15:19probably, you know, re evaluate that, But it's nothing else that
- 15:22we can do about it because they're going to pick him at 2
- 15:23anyway. And TA Simpson, I thought, I
- 15:27think it's a bad pick as well. I don't think they should pick
- 15:29at 16. They might end up trading that
- 15:31pick and getting an extra pick later on in the draft and get an
- 15:35extra pick in the second round. I definitely should trade back
- 15:38is a lot of needs of what The Jets could use with.
- 15:40Receiver and. Corner in those drafts, too.
- 15:42You're going to be able to stockpile a lot of that even at
- 15:44two. You can't rule out trading back
- 15:46either, even with a talent as good as Reese at 2:00.
- 15:48What about Malik Willis just sound with the Dolphins?
- 15:52What if he would? We would have picked them up.
- 15:54I hate. Malik Willis, I don't think he's
- 15:55any good. You'll think he's no good, No.
- 15:57I don't think he's any good. I don't.
- 15:59Want to be stuck in a really bad?
- 16:00Team honestly, you paid Malik Willis what what was what was
- 16:04the money? It was 22 million a year, 22
- 16:05million a year I'm. Not I don't, yeah.
- 16:07I don't think we're going to get that.
- 16:08I don't think we would have got that number.
- 16:09I think that's just Miami pen and desperation.
- 16:12I'm fine. I'm fine with Geno Smith.
- 16:15I'm fine with him for two years. I am.
- 16:17I think he's he's the prototypical quarterback of
- 16:21veteran quarterback that Jets bring in that's going to play
- 16:23that style of game. So I'm fine with Geno Smith.
- 16:26They're not winning anything this year.
- 16:28I'm hoping they're not going to try to win anything and get the
- 16:30court. If they don't get a quarterback
- 16:32this year, get a quarterback next year.
- 16:35So you who? Would you know the main thing?
- 16:36I always say what we saying quick.
- 16:39Who's that? Who's they take it?
- 16:40Who they take it for? What do you mean in your
- 16:42opinion? If you if you wouldn't detain,
- 16:44who did? Who would they take for?
- 16:45Next year you're talking about. Yeah, next year.
- 16:48I like Dante Moore, I like Manning.
- 16:52I mean, those two guys are the two guys that I'm looking also
- 16:55like Sellers. I like all three of those guys.
- 16:57I would take any one of those guys we're.
- 16:59Going to talk about that another day.
- 17:00Why was The Jets at Ohio State? Just to see.
- 17:03Yeah, they just drafted Abdul Carter.
- 17:05I'm confused why we. The Giants, yeah.
- 17:07So the Giants are interested in Caleb Downs, that safety, box
- 17:12safety that they think you can also drop back hard hitter, and
- 17:16Carnell Tate they're talking about is possibly a receiver to
- 17:19take at 5. The Giants are also in on
- 17:21Jeremiah Love, which is interesting considering they
- 17:25have Scataboo and Tyrone Tracy. That's something a lot of people
- 17:29are kind of mocking. No, they're not Giants.
- 17:31There's the reason why you shouldn't mock it because they
- 17:33probably know something with Cam Scataboo after that injury.
- 17:37Yeah, I think he's done too. That is a bad injury and.
- 17:40Did he say something about retirement as well?
- 17:42He posted something crazy. I don't think he said
- 17:45retirement. He's definitely crazy.
- 17:48We can't stay here. We ought to keep moving because
- 17:50we got to get out of the segment.
- 17:51But a lot of Jets and Giants offseason news to come.
- 17:55Just quickly hockey, not too much going on with the Rangers.
- 17:58They only they were held to nine shots the other day, Errol,
- 18:01which is just absurd. The Sabres are now tied for
- 18:04first. Just kind of combining that, all
- 18:06the hockey together with the Hurricanes for the most points
- 18:09in the Eastern Conference, even though they lost a couple of
- 18:11games in overtime. The Islanders, if these playoffs
- 18:15started today, are not in a playoff spot at all.
- 18:17They're a point out of a playoff spot.
- 18:20Correct? Correct.
- 18:21But you know, this was a team that like was trending a little
- 18:24better than this not that long ago.
- 18:26There are a lot of teams playing good hockey right now.
- 18:28The Blue Jackets are playing good hockey.
- 18:30Ottawa is playing good hockey. So he can't blame the Islanders.
- 18:33You're not going to win every single game.
- 18:34I still think the Islanders are fine.
- 18:36They have, they have 10 games left.
- 18:39If they win 7 or even 6 of those games, I think they get in.
- 18:42There's no way Ottawa is going to win the majority of their
- 18:45games. So I'm not going to bet on that.
- 18:46The Blue Jackets, even if the Blue Jackets make the playoffs,
- 18:50I, I, I'm not scared of the teams in front of them.
- 18:52So the Islanders are fine. The Sabres are the teams that
- 18:55that seem to talk about. I, I mean, everything that we've
- 18:58seen with the Sabres have done this year, even the second-half
- 19:00of the season, they're one of the hottest teams in hockey.
- 19:02Paige Thompson coming back, winning the gold medal from Team
- 19:05USA. He's been one of the hottest
- 19:06goal scorers in the league. I mean, everything is working.
- 19:10They're goaltending, their defense, They're as good of a
- 19:13team as any team in the NHL right now.
- 19:16If you would ask me right now who is going to the Stanley Cup
- 19:20Finals, it's the Sabres and the Colorado Out Village.
- 19:23Those are the two best teams in the NHL and they've been the two
- 19:26best teams over the last couple of weeks.
- 19:28Yeah, the Islanders are not playing bad.
- 19:29It's just like the Blue Jackets got hot.
- 19:31There's a lot of teams. Coaching change Rick bonus now
- 19:33going over there who went to the cup with Dallas in 2020 and
- 19:37they're just hot right now off the 3rd.
- 19:38And the Penguins are not great either.
- 19:40Like the Islanders very easily catch them, they're an older
- 19:42team. And Buffalo, I agree with you.
- 19:44Their offensive potency is as good as anything.
- 19:45If they can get any consistent goaltending, they're going to
- 19:47be. Right there is a beast.
- 19:50He is an absolute beast. Saint Louis is probably itching
- 19:53your head after years ago after trading him after they drafted
- 19:56him. I mean the kids.
- 19:58A special player, I believe the best United States goal scorer
- 20:02in the NHL. Yeah, and the Rangers.
- 20:05Yeah, that's as embarrassing as it gets.
- 20:06Fish, I gave this out to you. Not since 2003 have you seen
- 20:09less than 10 shots on goal in a game.
- 20:10Just just so ugly. The worst hockey you can
- 20:14possibly watch right now at the Garden.
- 20:16Just wrapping it up, talking about the Big East and what's
- 20:19going on in the Sweet 16. We got two teams left, we got
- 20:22UConn, Aints and Saint Johns. They both play tomorrow.
- 20:26UConn gets Michigan State, they played earlier in like
- 20:30exhibition in an early season game.
- 20:33UConn won by 7. Michigan State's not going to
- 20:36have their point guard. It's going to be a problem.
- 20:39Broken foot with a defensive guard.
- 20:41So they're down a couple of guys.
- 20:43UConn has a couple of guys questionable, but they're going
- 20:46to try to try to stop Tyrus Reed.
- 20:48Tyrus Reed, who had one of the biggest, you know, big man games
- 20:51in a long time, in the first game had, what, 27 rebounds?
- 20:55And it was absolutely a monster. That's the point.
- 20:59And Danny Hurley has mentioned that UCONN's foul trouble is a
- 21:02problem against a team like Michigan State that's 38th in
- 21:06the country and shooting foul shots.
- 21:08St. John's, Duke, real quick.
- 21:09Duke got Nanga back versus TCU. They think that Caleb Foster has
- 21:14a chance to come back only three weeks removed from a foot
- 21:19fracture, which is kind of crazy as well for that game.
- 21:23Obviously St. John's is going to face that
- 21:25team is ranked #1 heading into it.
- 21:27Pitino is going to try to pressure the ball.
- 21:29You know, Pitino, he thinks it's their weakness.
- 21:32They're going to go after him, especially if the point guard
- 21:34has a broken foot. I want St.
- 21:36John's to win. I really, really do.
- 21:39I want them to win. But I'm a Duke Blue Devil fan
- 21:41and I can't stand John Shire. And if the game's close, I'm
- 21:44going to bet that Saint John's is going to win the game.
- 21:46But if they pull away and they they have a 15 or 14 point lead
- 21:50in the second-half and I don't see the the Duke Blue Devils
- 21:54choking this time. Cam Boozer has been up and down
- 21:57throughout the tournament. Cam Boozer is a star, he's a
- 21:59stud. I love him and I think he's
- 22:01going to take over this game. They're going to have no answer
- 22:03with Cam Boozer in this game. I think Duke is going to win the
- 22:05game. Now, as far as EU on U Conn
- 22:08versus Michigan State, that's an interesting game.
- 22:11Izzo versus Hurley, 2 very respected coaches in college
- 22:15basketball, one guy that acts like Bobby Knight and the other
- 22:18one is more quiet, likes to keep to himself, like likes the
- 22:22players, play his style of game. But I'm going to tell you this
- 22:25right now, UConn is going all the way to the national
- 22:28championship. I've said it, I believe it.
- 22:31I think this team is as good as any team in the nation.
- 22:34So I think they're going to beat Michigan State.
- 22:37It's going to be cool, close. It'll be back and forth.
- 22:39Bobby Hurley's been the best coach I believe in college
- 22:41basketball for the last four years and I I believe that he's
- 22:45going to make another run at a national.
- 22:46Championship. I was worried about Michigan
- 22:48State not shooting a lot of threes, but this is not the
- 22:49match of the duo. You want to attack the hoop like
- 22:51you were saying and Dan Hurley, they can't have these foul
- 22:53troubles like they did in the second-half against UCLA.
- 22:55If they can play like the the next part of that game, they
- 22:58could beat Michigan State pretty easily.
- 22:59As far as Saint John's and UConn, interesting match up with
- 23:01Zubi Azure for and Cam Boozer inside.
- 23:04Can they attack that and get enough rebounding to make it
- 23:06work and take away those possessions for Duke's offense
- 23:08even with Proctor? Or not or not Proctor?
- 23:11Yeah, not 100%. All right, guys.
- 23:13Well, that is the concrete jungle carousel.
- 23:16All right, Ladies and gentlemen, we call this the deuce of the
- 23:19day. The deuce of the day.
- 23:22You log Not a log. I don't have a log, but no.
- 23:32All right, my juice of the day goes to the Philadelphia
- 23:35Phillies as a story came out over the last 24 hours that a
- 23:40kid that they signed at 13 or 14 years old, I think 13 years old,
- 23:46who they gave him $1.5 million, was caught using steroids.
- 23:52That's what they they tested them for steroids.
- 23:54And now Phil, the Phillies are going to cancel the agreement
- 23:58and take the $1.5 million away from the kid and his family.
- 24:02And I'll say this, steroids should not be used in
- 24:05professional sports. But guess what?
- 24:09They're always going to be used. They're always going to be used
- 24:13so hiding it and figuring out what to take away or not think
- 24:17that this kid has the God-given talent because he was taking
- 24:20steroids or just trying to grow. Maybe that's why he was doing
- 24:23it. It's despicable honestly.
- 24:25It's 1.5 million. Is it going to burn a pocket?
- 24:27Burn his pocket is going to burn Philadelphia pocket.
- 24:29No, I'm not surprised this is going on.
- 24:32This isn't the first thing we're going to hear in any
- 24:34international international player using steroids or human
- 24:38growth hormones to get get, get bigger, get stronger and get
- 24:42into the major leagues. So it's a horrible story.
- 24:45Philadelphia is going to do what they want to do, but it it's,
- 24:49you know, it's Philadelphia like to do something like that.
- 24:52So that is my deuce of the day. Anyways, we call this alrighty
- 24:56then. Alrighty then.
- 25:01All righty. All righty then.
- 25:06All righty. Then we're back with another
- 25:09literary segment of Errol's articles.
- 25:13Have you checked out this latest one, guys, on what we were just
- 25:17talking about in the interview, Errol's hatred of John Shire and
- 25:23JJ Reddick. Well, if you haven't, you got to
- 25:26check it out. It's on the Worldwide Sports
- 25:28Radio dot com and if you haven't checked it out, that's where all
- 25:32of our clips are that you can find from the show that we post
- 25:35up our best clips. You can also check those out on
- 25:38our new YouTube page. Check out all the information in
- 25:42the links guys. Here is the article for Today
- 25:47podcast Privilege and Coach K Nepotism.
- 25:50The JJ Reddick John Shire experiment nobody asked for.
- 25:55Take a look. There are two types of people in
- 25:58this world. People grind 20 years for a head
- 26:00coaching job. People who sit next to LeBron
- 26:03James on a podcast or share locker room with Mike Schefsky
- 26:06and suddenly wake up as the boss.
- 26:09Welcome to the basketball multiverse where logic takes a
- 26:12back seat and vibes get you hired.
- 26:15JJ Redick from podcast takes to play calls.
- 26:18Let's start with JJ Redick, a man who went for breaking down
- 26:21pick and roll coverages on a mic to actually calling them for the
- 26:24Los Angeles Lakers. Now listen, JJ smart like Scary
- 26:28Film Room junkie smart. But coaching the Lakers is not a
- 26:32group project at Duke. This is Hollywood, this is
- 26:35pressure. This is LeBron staring at you
- 26:37mid time out. Like you sure about that
- 26:39podcast, boy. And yet, somehow it's working.
- 26:42As we move on, there's John Shire, Coach K's favorite
- 26:46student, or just the one who answered the phone.
- 26:48Now. John Shire, the chosen one of
- 26:51Duke basketball, hand picked Coach K himself to take over the
- 26:55throne of the Duke Blue Devils. And look, Shire has been good.
- 26:58Not great, not legendary. Yeah, just yeah, that'll do.
- 27:02He's Got Talent every year because Duke, not because he's a
- 27:05wizard recruiter. And this year he's sitting
- 27:07pretty with a number one seed. But let's not forget last year
- 27:11lately the Houston to the Houston Cougars in the final
- 27:13four. Like someone accidentally hit
- 27:16the self destruct button. 2 minutes left and the offense
- 27:20looked like five guys trying to remember a TikTok dance.
- 27:25Speedy. All right, we'll start it off
- 27:27with, yeah, tie edge here. Actually, we'll start it off
- 27:31with Glumgate first. These two actually were kind of
- 27:34rebuttaling at each other. So this is the first one.
- 27:35How is their coaching performance remotely similar?
- 27:37Shire took Duke and made the Elite 8 in the Final Four and
- 27:40now at worst, the Sweet 16 the last three years.
- 27:42While JJ Reddick, it's a long comment.
- 27:44He was out in the first. Round of the playoffs.
- 27:45All right, Glumgate. I think it's a lot harder
- 27:48coaching an NBA team. That's my opinion.
- 27:51And you over the last couple years without Luka Doncic, you
- 27:54just got Luka Doncic last year in the middle of the season and
- 27:58you you took a team to the playoffs and and failed to to
- 28:01get over the hump. Here's the thing, Shire every
- 28:04year has the top recruits in the country.
- 28:07Every year he had two guys that are going to be up for a rookie
- 28:10of the year for the NBA and fell short in the Final four.
- 28:13Anybody could have taken that team to the final four.
- 28:16That's how talented they were. Proctor decided to stay back in
- 28:19college this year because he wasn't going to come out in the
- 28:22first round this year. If he gets healthy, Proctor's
- 28:24probably a late first round draft pick.
- 28:26So my honest opinion here is when you look at Shire and you
- 28:30look at JJ, there is no comparison because one's
- 28:33coaching an NBA team and the other one's coaching a college
- 28:37team. So I think there's more pressure
- 28:40on JJ Redick because LeBron James is getting old and they
- 28:43won another championship and Shire could sit there for the
- 28:46next 5 years as he got an extension at the end at the end
- 28:50of last season. 5 years for losing in the final four when
- 28:54you up by 12 points with two minutes left.
- 28:57So that's my opinion on that one.
- 28:58All right, so this this guy tie edge rebuttal a lot with with
- 29:01glove gate. They were back and forth about
- 29:0210 different comments. So he is thinks the opposite.
- 29:04He has more money than any other school was possible for
- 29:07recruiting Duke's elite one and dumb players with under coach K
- 29:11anything but a surprise that he's gotten that job.
- 29:13Yeah, I can't get behind that. Thank you, Tie I, I love that
- 29:17take because I would agree with you, Coach K picked the wrong
- 29:20guy. And I'm not saying Shire isn't a
- 29:22good, smart basketball mind, but when you have people like Jeff's
- 29:25coming to me and telling me, well, this guy is is a genius.
- 29:29Yeah, a genius, A genius, a losing.
- 29:31What did that? What happened against North
- 29:33Carolina this year? And Hubert Davis, you were up by
- 29:35eight points with, what, a minute and 10 seconds left and
- 29:39you choked and you lost against a North North Carolina Tar Heel
- 29:43team that's nowhere close to the talent you are.
- 29:45So honest to God, the guy doesn't know how to finish, and
- 29:48he's not going to finish this year.
- 29:50When are they going to lose the Elite 8?
- 29:51I think that's where they're going to lose.
- 29:53They're going to lose in the Elite 8 because I just don't
- 29:55think this team knows how to to win the big game so.
- 30:00All right, we'll go to this one now.
- 30:02Dumute, CBUCBU. There isn't a fan of any program
- 30:06in the country that wouldn't want Shire's first four years as
- 30:08a head coach. Where is Reddick?
- 30:11OK, now I will tell you this because I'm being in Dumute.
- 30:14Thank you. I have to tell you this, anybody
- 30:19coaching this team that knows any type of basketball can coach
- 30:23this team all at least to the Sweet 16.
- 30:26It's too talented. What are you calling give the
- 30:29ball to Boozer, Give the ball to Boozer, give the ball to Boozer.
- 30:33It's not rocket science guys. It really isn't.
- 30:36What is Shire doing on the sidelines?
- 30:38He's got three guys, 3 assistants that have been NBA
- 30:41players or NBA coaches. Shire just has to sit there and
- 30:44collect his money. That's why he got a five year
- 30:46extension. And it's impressive, dude.
- 30:49Look at the recruits he's brought in.
- 30:51Cooper flag and another 3 point shooter that just broke a record
- 30:55with the Charlotte Hornets this year.
- 30:57And it's probably going to be up for an MVPI mean rookie of the
- 31:00year this year with Cooper Flag and now this year camp boosters,
- 31:03arguably the number one, number two and #3 pick.
- 31:06If you have this kind of talent, guess what, you're probably
- 31:09going to win. All right, so now we'll go to a
- 31:12different viewpoint, kind of comparing how they got hired.
- 31:16So Crave Case No Shire to Riot fired a traditional internal
- 31:19pipeline under Coach K, spending years on his staff Shire while
- 31:24JJ Reddick made a rare leap straight from playing in media
- 31:27to an NBA job. They both kissed a lot of asses
- 31:31to get where they have gone. OK, you're going to tell me
- 31:34Shire was the guy that I'm going to pick.
- 31:36Out of all the coach coaches that have been working on
- 31:39coaches Kay's staff all these years, that's the guy I'm
- 31:42picking. I could pick anybody for that
- 31:44Duke Blue Devil job. That's the best.
- 31:47And you can say whatever you want it.
- 31:48As far as prestige colleges, right now, Duke is #1 everybody
- 31:53wants that Duke job. Everybody.
- 31:56So you're going to tell me out of all the people you could have
- 31:58picked, that's the guy I would have picked?
- 32:00And as far as JJI would agree with you, what has JJ done?
- 32:04But guess what? JJ is coaching a Laker team.
- 32:07There's more pressure with the Lakers and winning with LeBron
- 32:11James and Luka Doncic now than it is right now for Shire.
- 32:14If Shire loses in the Elite 8 after losing in the Final Four,
- 32:17does he lose his job? No, he is going to keep his job
- 32:21for the least the next four years and if he can't get over
- 32:24the hump, he can't win in the next 4 years then he'll get
- 32:26fired. To me, Coach K is still driving
- 32:29the stick over there with the Duke Blue Devils.
- 32:31All right. The last one we'll go to as an
- 32:33opposite standpoint. So JJ Reddick was higher because
- 32:36he's a solid basketball mine and he's proven himself to be, at a
- 32:39minimum, a very good coach so far, whereas John Shire, he
- 32:42agrees with you, was a bit overrated.
- 32:44OK, basketball mine, JJ Reddick. That doesn't go two and two
- 32:49together. All right, JJ Reddick, what does
- 32:52he know about basketball? Has he coached before you got
- 32:55this job? No.
- 32:56Was he an assistant coach? He was working on a podcast with
- 32:59LeBron James and LeBron probably said, we're not kidding, Danny
- 33:04Hurley. We struck out on that.
- 33:05Nobody else wants this job. Let's I'll just bring my guy in
- 33:09and I could tell my guy what to do, call the plays and I'm going
- 33:12to be in charge because I'm LeBron James the LJA.
- 33:15So I I disagree. I don't think JJJ Reddick is a
- 33:20great basketball mind. Is he know a little bit more
- 33:22than John? Yeah.
- 33:23He played in the NBA. John Shire never played in the
- 33:25NBA. He was drafted, but he couldn't
- 33:27he couldn't stay healthy. So I honest to God, who would I
- 33:31take? I mean, I'm pulling strings
- 33:32here. I take JJ because he had a
- 33:34longer NBA career. That's it.
- 33:36That's the my argument. Both guys stink.
- 33:39All right. That's the facts, guys.
- 33:43Are you guys like JJ Redick, You like John Shire?
- 33:46Good. I I I wish you all the the best
- 33:49with the arguments, but there's just no argument to that that
- 33:53take to say that one's better than the other.
- 33:55They're both were handed the job by coach K and LeBron James.
- 34:01LeBron James went to ownership. As a matter of fact, misses bus
- 34:05was the one that came out and she said this past year, he says
- 34:09everything LeBron wanted. I gave him everything he wanted.
- 34:13I gave him, including she didn't say JJ Redick.
- 34:15But what is what does that mean? So think about it.
- 34:19So it it just, it's pathetic. Anthony Davis, he wanted Anthony
- 34:21Davis, he got Anthony Davis. I, I do not believe Luke and him
- 34:25like each other. I think Luca wants him out and I
- 34:27think LeBron wants out of the Lakers at the end of this year.
- 34:30So who got Luca there? What?
- 34:33What do you mean? I think that the NBA stepped in
- 34:36there and I. The NBA?
- 34:39Yes, I'm going to. Tell you.
- 34:40I'm going to explain why. I'm going to explain why.
- 34:42I'm going to explain why. Here's the facts.
- 34:46They could have gotten a better package from the Celtics because
- 34:49the Celtics would absolutely made a bit firm.
- 34:51They could have gotten a better package from the Knicks.
- 34:54They gave up nothing for Luka Dodgek.
- 34:57As a matter of fact, it is one of the worst trades, if not the
- 35:01worst trade in NBA history. And it's a proven fact.
- 35:04There would've been a teams lining up.
- 35:06The only team they reached out to twice was the Lakers.
- 35:09Why? Because the NBA and the LJA, it
- 35:12was a part of it. I'm telling you, you're going to
- 35:14tell me out of all the teams you could have asked for to have a
- 35:17conversation, they couldn't get a better deal than what the
- 35:20Lakers gave him? Please.
- 35:21Why would why would the balls? Why would the sensors?
- 35:24And then two why would LeBron hire somebody he don't like?
- 35:28What do you mean? You said the LGALJ approved Luke
- 35:34Lucas arrival in the LA. At the time, at the time LeBron
- 35:39James and Luca, Luca thought, I mean LeBron, LeBron probably
- 35:42thought he could play with Luca and they can get along on the
- 35:44basketball court. But if you watched all season
- 35:47long with the Lakers and I've watched them a lot, they don't
- 35:49like each other. If you see them on on the on the
- 35:52bench, LeBron sits on one side, Lucas sits on the other.
- 35:56What are you guys blind? You don't see it.
- 35:57They don't. Yeah, but they don't mean they
- 35:59don't like each other. LeBron needs like 2 speeds and
- 36:03a. Wants to see like.
- 36:04He has stuff that he needs on the side.
- 36:06That's what you're not paying attention to.
- 36:08Like they're not. They don't have to be friends
- 36:11and buddy buddy to be able to, you know, work together like you
- 36:15don't. You don't have to be that.
- 36:17I think that's where you think that they like dislike each
- 36:19other because they don't. They're not friendly and buddy
- 36:22buddy, but they have spacing issues, which is the real issue
- 36:25between them two. They both are ball dominant and
- 36:29then LeBron sometimes don't want to take the backseat.
- 36:31So, and it's, it's like a huge spacing issue because he's a
- 36:35primary ball handler and all throughout his whole career.
- 36:38I'm going to tell you you're absolutely wrong.
- 36:40And when you don't like each other and you realize that you
- 36:43guys can't play together and they've played enough games and
- 36:46and you say it doesn't matter if they like each other or not.
- 36:49It does. Because if you've seen what's
- 36:51going on with the Lakers, the Lakers are hot right now.
- 36:54Why are they? Hot.
- 36:54Why they're very hot right now. Hold on, hold on one second.
- 36:59You don't let me speak. So let me just I let you speak
- 37:02so let me finish what I have to say.
- 37:04They're hot right now. They won 10 games or 9 games in
- 37:07a row and they're playing great basketball.
- 37:09But here's the thing. Why are they playing big, great
- 37:11basketball? It's not because of LeBron
- 37:13James. It's because of Luka Doncic.
- 37:15Luka Doncic LeBron has given the reins over to Luka.
- 37:20Luka is now the leader of this team.
- 37:22He is the guy and why is there stories coming out right now
- 37:25that LeBron James? They're have been many different
- 37:28stories that have come out and said that LeBron James will not
- 37:31be back next year with the Lakers.
- 37:33Why is that? He has one more year left on his
- 37:35contract and he would make more money with the Lakers than go to
- 37:38another team and take lesser money.
- 37:40So why would he be doing that? Because he doesn't like Luka
- 37:42Doncic, that's why. Well, they they always say that
- 37:45whenever LeBron got one year left on his contract, he's up,
- 37:49he's not going to come back. He's.
- 37:50Going to go. To do that and do it every
- 37:53single time, and LeBron has averaged 20 points on the last
- 37:5510 games. That's great.
- 37:56And Lucas? Average 32, so just Lucas.
- 38:00Lucas scoring 32. Great.
- 38:03So it's not just Luca that means they're working together,
- 38:05something that you say is impossible for them to do.
- 38:08We'll see what they do in the playoffs.
- 38:11Don't you think it could be something else that just like
- 38:13LeBron doesn't like being the third scoring option on the
- 38:17team. He, Austin Reeves, averages 2
- 38:201/2 points a game more than LeBron this year.
- 38:22You know, it's he's, he's the second option offensively, not
- 38:26LeBron. And I, I think defensively, you
- 38:29know, LeBron and Luca, they fall asleep a lot.
- 38:32They both fly builders. They always been LeBron, you
- 38:35know, But LeBron, LeBron go get a, he'll go get a block and then
- 38:39they'll make it seem like he's his first team all defensive guy
- 38:42because he got a huge block in the game.
- 38:44LeBron was not always a liability.
- 38:46LeBron was an elite defender in the last like half dozen years.
- 38:50What are you talking about? What game are you watching?
- 38:52You say you watch a lot of games.
- 38:54LeBron. LeBron was an elite defender.
- 38:56For nine years. He was an elite defender.
- 38:59We in year 22. That's fine.
- 39:01He was an elite defender. You say that LeBron James never
- 39:03played defense. He's a liability.
- 39:05He wasn't a liability forever. As you get older, your defensive
- 39:08skills obviously aren't the same.
- 39:10When Tim Duncan was getting older, he wasn't the same
- 39:13defender he once was. He was the anchor of that
- 39:15defense for so many years. But once he hit year 15, he
- 39:18wasn't that guy anymore. They had to press more.
- 39:21They had to use the guards and press more up up a top to get to
- 39:24put more pressure on the bigs. So are you saying that LeBron
- 39:27was a liability is ridiculous? That's not.
- 39:31True years, he hasn't done anything.
- 39:34That's fine. That's what I'm saying.
- 39:35Like 1/2 a dozen years because he's like 36 to 42.
- 39:39Not the same guy defensively, obviously, and how can he be?
- 39:42You know what I mean? But it's the type of mistakes
- 39:44that him and Luca next to each other on the court together that
- 39:48could be a big problem because there's no one to catch up for
- 39:51those mistakes. Anthony Davis ain't back there
- 39:54to to make up for some of the things that they're doing.
- 39:58I mean, that's. What saved?
- 40:00That's what saved LeBron for years, was Anthony Davis could
- 40:03protect the rim, right? And they don't really have that
- 40:06now. Not the same.
- 40:08It's not the same without them. Obviously they're better scoring
- 40:10team. With Luca they're probably
- 40:11better team. It's just that best defender.
- 40:15Right. But I mean, he can't shoot.
- 40:16He never could. You know that as a Celtics fan.
- 40:19Yeah, but that's what I'm saying.
- 40:20But they only got 1 defender. So it's like, yeah, you can
- 40:23score all these points, but when it comes down to it, you're not
- 40:25going to outscore people who end up getting stops on you.
- 40:28If your shot ain't falling that night, you're going to get blown
- 40:30out. True.
- 40:32All right, ladies and gentlemen, we call this What's beef?
- 40:38I'm a nut. I'm a nut.
- 40:42Do you know what beef is? Do you know?
- 40:43What beef is? I fight you both together if you
- 40:49want, I fight. You want 1 poor time behind the
- 40:51back. I fight you stand on one foot.
- 40:53I fight you with my eyes. Closed What are you scared?
- 40:57Watch your mouth. I see you.
- 40:59Guaranteed to be. I see you one more time.
- 41:05All right, ladies and gentlemen, there's a lot of beefing here in
- 41:08New York. And I will say this, Brandon
- 41:13Tierney and Greg Giannotti, our two guys very well respected.
- 41:18Brandon Tierney got fired from CBS because CBS went down the
- 41:22drain. And Greg Giannotti said some
- 41:25interesting things about Brandon Tierney.
- 41:28We got some video. You guys ready?
- 41:29Let's go. But the thing that he said that
- 41:37annoyed me and the reason why I want to bring it up is he said I
- 41:41was a bad teammate for pranking the show and being a caller who
- 41:47was busting his balls about drinking with the team.
- 41:50Because he said that I was implying that he was drinking
- 41:52with the team and that's being a bad teammate.
- 41:55His take on that is exactly the reason why he couldn't cut it
- 42:01here because he is someone who takes things way too seriously.
- 42:06He can't laugh at himself and he doesn't get it.
- 42:11And if he did, and he showed a little bit more personality and
- 42:14could laugh at himself, maybe he would have had more success
- 42:17here. So.
- 42:19So hold on one second. Because he doesn't know how to
- 42:22laugh at himself and he doesn't know how to take a joke.
- 42:25That's why he got fired. Is that what you're saying?
- 42:28And that's why he doesn't have a job.
- 42:29I mean, come on, Greg. I've known Greg Giannotti for a
- 42:33very long time. Me and him are practically the
- 42:35same age. Greg Giannotti, I think is 43.
- 42:37I'm 44. I'm going to be 44 this year.
- 42:40I look at Greg Giannotti. How did you get your job?
- 42:44How many people and how many asses you had to kiss to get
- 42:47back to WFN? And then you said you were in
- 42:50Pittsburgh. You were working for a
- 42:51Pittsburgh station. And then you took Brandon
- 42:55Tierney's job because, and you said this and it'll probably be
- 42:59a part of this, this take over here in a very few minutes
- 43:02because there's more to hear what Greg Giannotti has to say.
- 43:05Greg Giannotti is a person of disrespect.
- 43:08Now, I know a little bit about Brennan Tierney.
- 43:11I know people that know Brennan Tierney.
- 43:13I don't know him personally, but I've heard a lot of good things
- 43:16about this guy. Whenever somebody wants to take
- 43:18a picture with him, he will take a picture with you.
- 43:21Whenever you have a question, if you're at an event with him,
- 43:23he's going to sit there and have a conversation.
- 43:25If you're a fan person, woman, man, kid, this guy is such a
- 43:30he's a friendly person. He loves his teams, he loves his
- 43:33sports. I have never heard anybody say
- 43:36anything bad about Brandon Tierney ever.
- 43:38And the guy to me has one of the most unique voices on radio.
- 43:42He's very talented. He loves the Yankees, he loves
- 43:45his sports, he loves the Knicks. He loves everything about New
- 43:49York sports. And then Greg Giannotti had the
- 43:51audacity, the Bulls, to say that's why he doesn't have a
- 43:54job. He doesn't have a job because
- 43:56CBS couldn't keep them. They couldn't afford them
- 43:58because they're paying Greg Giannotti a lot of money because
- 44:01he's boomers bitch and they bring it back a felon and Craig
- 44:04Cordon. So that's that's the facts.
- 44:07And then they they breathe. They put Tiki Barber with Evan
- 44:11Roberts because Tiki is such a knowledgeable sports
- 44:15broadcaster. He knows everything.
- 44:17Tiki doesn't know crap. The only thing he knows is
- 44:19football. But hey, Tiki Barber is Tiki
- 44:22Barber and New York Giant fans love him.
- 44:24That's why he has a job. Why would you attack this guy?
- 44:27He was the wrong person to attack and Brandon Tinney, I, I
- 44:31just, I feel bad for the guy because now he's looking for a
- 44:35job. There's not many jobs out there
- 44:37right now for a guy his age and he's had this backlash.
- 44:41What Gianotti's doing to him is hurting his worth.
- 44:45Nobody's going to hire Brandon Tierney if Greg Gianotti's
- 44:48coming out and slandering him next one.
- 44:51All right, here's here's Tierney firing back.
- 44:53Sports station in the world and you can't even talk sports.
- 44:58Nobody cares what you say. Do you think that anybody
- 45:01listens to you to get ready for the Yankees or the Mets season?
- 45:04Do you think that anybody gives a fuck what you think about
- 45:08sports? Nobody does and nobody has and
- 45:11nobody ever will. The shots that he's taking at
- 45:14me, they are coming from somebody who is the most thin
- 45:18skinned person in the business. When anybody takes a shot at
- 45:22Greg, you know, now it's the end of the earth.
- 45:25But Greg's never had an issue taking jabs at everybody.
- 45:29And I mean everybody at the station always like that's his
- 45:34game. That's his meal ticket.
- 45:36You can't make fun of Joe B. And now if you can't make fun of
- 45:40me. And you can't make fun of Mike.
- 45:42What are you doing? Because nobody cares what you
- 45:45do. You think about Shawn and I's
- 45:46dip in velocity. Nobody and nobody ever will.
- 45:51He's absolutely right. Here's the thing.
- 45:54I I agree with a lot of things Brandon Tierney has said about
- 45:57Greg Giannotti. He doesn't know anything about
- 46:00sports. He's a Minnesota Vikings fan and
- 46:03he's a broadcaster here in New York, a Minnesota Vikings fan,
- 46:07and he talks about New York sports like he's so embedded
- 46:11into it. Really.
- 46:12You try to be like Craig Carton, You're not Craig Carton.
- 46:14Let's be honest. You don't have that personality.
- 46:17Craig Carton doesn't know sports and either do you?
- 46:19But you're not as funny as Craig Carton.
- 46:21I even know both of you don't know what the hell you're
- 46:23talking about when you talk about it.
- 46:25But the fact here is he tries to be something he's not.
- 46:28He really doesn't have the education behind him on speaking
- 46:32New York sports because every time he speaks about the Mets or
- 46:35every time he speaks about the Yankees or every time he speaks
- 46:38about the teams that he enjoys, he's so wrong.
- 46:40He's so off. And then you have Boomer Asias
- 46:42in that kisses his ass. Oh, then, then, then, then
- 46:45Boomer. What do you think?
- 46:47I agree totally, Greg, you're you're absolutely right.
- 46:50It's just pathetic. What, when you go on a radio
- 46:53show and you're supposed to be somebody's Yang to their Yang,
- 46:57kind of like Quinton Coppols. He is my Yang to my Yang.
- 47:01We love each other, but he disagrees on some of the stuff
- 47:04and some of the takes I have. And I completely disagree with
- 47:07some of his takes. I don't I don't hate him.
- 47:10I'm not going to go out and say, yo, Quinton Coppols is an ass.
- 47:13I can't take that MOP. I want to smack the you know
- 47:16what out of him. When I see him in Pittsburgh,
- 47:18I'm going to beat the hell out of him.
- 47:20I'm going to choke him when he's sleeping.
- 47:21I'm not going out there saying that, even though sometimes, you
- 47:25know, I want to do that to some of the guys here in the studio.
- 47:28But hey, the fact here is I'm a respectable guy.
- 47:31And if I know that I'm in the same studio as somebody and I
- 47:34see him, I'm going to say hi to him.
- 47:35I'm not going to sit back in another room knowing that he's
- 47:39doing another show in the other area and not going over there at
- 47:42the end of my show and, and having, you know, having a nice
- 47:45conversation with him because, oh, I don't like him or he
- 47:47doesn't speak to me with respect.
- 47:50Greg, stop being a bitch. Stop being a bitch.
- 47:53You're you're you're at WFAN and you have a job.
- 47:56Because nobody Boomer wanted to work with.
- 48:00Nobody wanted to work with Boomer, and the only one Boomer
- 48:02wanted to work with was you. Why?
- 48:04Because you kiss his ass. All you do is kiss everybody's
- 48:08ass. So Brandon Tierney is absolutely
- 48:10right. Nobody wants to hear what he has
- 48:12to say when it comes to sports. He doesn't know what he's
- 48:14talking about. He has no idea what he's talking
- 48:17about. All he does is he makes these
- 48:19these voice impressions. He makes fun of Mike Francis,
- 48:22makes fun of Joe B. He doesn't like those guys.
- 48:25Or he throws it. He's taking shots at a Ryan
- 48:28Hurley, his boss. Ryan Hurley hasn't fired this
- 48:30guy. You know why?
- 48:31Because Boomer likes him and Boomer runs that station right
- 48:34now. Say whatever you want.
- 48:36The Morning Show is the biggest show, even though stuff is
- 48:39falling apart because I have this idiot as the face in the
- 48:42the voice of the Morning show. All right, well guys, you could
- 48:50also share your takes on it, sweetie and Quinn.
- 48:53Like, I've been listening to these guys for a long time too.
- 48:56And it's really important as a sports fan to know that it's
- 49:00sports we're talking about. If you make it personal, that's
- 49:04on you. When you make it personal.
- 49:07You're absolutely right, Errol. Like, it's, that's not what it's
- 49:09about. Like we're trying to have fun
- 49:11here. We're talking, this is about the
- 49:13game we're playing. Obviously as business, there's
- 49:15money and stuff like that. And people's character, you
- 49:18know, gets revealed by actions when they're put under pressure,
- 49:21when a lot of money's at stake. I don't have those things, that
- 49:24type of pressure on me. I'm just sitting here on the
- 49:27sidelines, you know, seeing it just like the rest of us, you
- 49:29know, judging. But why are we taking it
- 49:32personal? Here's the thing.
- 49:33Now I want to say this. When you're making between
- 49:36$280,000 and 500 grand, all to be boomers, bitch, and you're
- 49:42going to sit there and say you have a job and you're you're
- 49:44mocking a guy that just lost his job.
- 49:47I would never mock anybody for losing their job.
- 49:50And it wasn't it wasn't Brandon Tierney.
- 49:53That was the reason why he lost his job.
- 49:55He lost the job because CBS went out of business.
- 49:59That's the fact that the sports broadcasting end of it went out
- 50:02of business. And the only reason why he still
- 50:04has a job is because WFAN is trying to salvage what is going
- 50:10on because they bring in Spike Eskens.
- 50:12He jumps, he leaves because he he ruined the organization, he
- 50:16ruined the sports part of the the industry.
- 50:18He jumps, he goes back to Philadelphia to to be the voice
- 50:21of the drive home show in Philadelphia at at the fan over
- 50:25there. And then they they bring in Ryan
- 50:27Hurley, who is a Hofstra alum who was running ESPN New York.
- 50:33And he's a guy that is a yes man guy.
- 50:36That's what Ryan Hurley is. He's not a guy that's going to
- 50:38pull the take the bull by its horns.
- 50:40He's just somebody else speaking from the the guys, the bosses.
- 50:44And I think the fact here is if I was Ryan Hurley and I heard
- 50:48that this man was mocking me and I was in the other room, I would
- 50:52go right in there and suspend him.
- 50:53I would have suspended him. And you're talking about two
- 50:56guys, Joe B, who retired and then came back because they
- 50:59begged him to come back. And Brandon Tierney, who took
- 51:03the job. He should have just stayed at
- 51:06CBS Sports where he was, where he was.
- 51:08He jumped because his dream was to be a broadcaster with WWFEN.
- 51:12And then they had him in position with Tiki Barber.
- 51:15He was with Tiki Barber and they moved him and they gave him one
- 51:19of the dumbest people in sports broadcasting and Mr. Baldy
- 51:23himself, who couldn't cut it over there at WFN and he barely
- 51:27has a job at SNY and everybody knows what I'm talking about
- 51:29with that one, too. Yeah, the one that makes all
- 51:31those bad Mets takes. As a Mets fan, it's definitely
- 51:34painful to have to listen to him and SNY.
- 51:36And it makes the rest of the SNY analysts, a couple of them have
- 51:40been on our show, actually look pretty good and makes the rest
- 51:44of that show look really. Bad.
- 51:45I'm so, I'm so done. I'm so done with this.
- 51:49Greg Giannotti should apologize. He should really reach, shout
- 51:52out to Brandon Tierney and apologize for what he said
- 51:54because this man lost his job. He's got children, he's got a
- 51:57family, he's got a house to take care of.
- 52:00And you're going to just mock him on a radio station because
- 52:04you have a job and he don't? That's so disgusting.
- 52:07It's like me, OK, I got a job. I get hired by a major network
- 52:12and a major network tells me, well, you can't have these guys.
- 52:14You, you got to, you got to come on without these guys.
- 52:17And I, I sit there and I say, no, I want these guys to come
- 52:20and I want them to be a part of this.
- 52:22They work their asses off too. And they say, well, we don't
- 52:25want them, we want you. Well, then you can't have me,
- 52:27you know, So I'm, I'm a dedicated person.
- 52:30I'm a I'm a team, I'm a team player, OK.
- 52:34And Greg Giannotti doing what he did at WFEN shows you he's not a
- 52:38team player. He's a me player.
- 52:40He's all about himself. He doesn't care about anybody
- 52:43else but himself. And to attack a man after losing
- 52:46his job the way he did is completely despicable,
- 52:49completely despicable. I, I, I have nothing else to say
- 52:52about it. It's just horrible to see.
- 52:54And, and Brandon, honestly, there's no reason he's even to
- 52:58attack him because the truth is anybody that knows you as a
- 53:02person and respects you as a man knows that you are not a bad
- 53:06person, knows that you're a respected person in this
- 53:09industry. And what I've heard from people
- 53:11that know Brandon Tierney says that he's one of the nicest
- 53:14educated sports broadcasters in this industry, so.
- 53:19Who is the one that you called and attacked him on?
- 53:21Daniel Jones and Aaron Rodgers. Monaco.
- 53:24Oh, Chris Mcmonaco. Is that a Cardin's guy now?
- 53:29Yes, I think it is. I think it is.
- 53:32I think it is. It was Chris Mcmonaco.
- 53:34His fat ass. OK, I'll say what I have to say.
- 53:39He had the audacity to tell me on the show.
- 53:42My Brittany was sitting in the bed with me when I called this
- 53:45guy up on a speakerphone. So I wanted to hear the
- 53:48interview. I wanted her to hear the
- 53:49interview. And this idiot tells me that
- 53:52Daniel Jones had better numbers than Aaron Rodgers that year and
- 53:58then he had the audacity to tell me after that, after that, that
- 54:04sake they should not resign Saquon Barkley, that they should
- 54:07give Darren Waller more money and sign up for a longer deal.
- 54:12What did Darren Waller do for the Giants?
- 54:16Absolutely nada. Nothing.
- 54:19Saquon Barkley goes to the Eagles, breaks, almost breaks
- 54:23Eric Dickerson's record and runs all over people and wins the
- 54:27Super Bowl with the Eagles the next year and you got, you have
- 54:29the audacity to say that? And then Craig Cardin brings him
- 54:32on a show. What a joke.
- 54:34An absolute joke. If I ever sat in a room with
- 54:36this guy, I would snap. I would smack the fat off that
- 54:39guy's body. OK, it it just absolute
- 54:42ridiculousness. New York sports is dying right
- 54:45now. New York sports radio is dying
- 54:48because of this garbage that's on the radio.
- 54:51Waller decided instead of playing for the Giants, he was
- 54:55going to work release the worst rap album of the entire year and
- 55:00and. Figure this one out.
- 55:02Figure this one out. After he signed with the Giants,
- 55:04he gets a divorce with his wife. So she probably says, you know
- 55:07what? I don't want to go to New York.
- 55:09I don't want to go to WNBA, right.
- 55:11She's on the Aces and the jet trade.
- 55:13Kelsey Plum, as soon as he signed that contract with the
- 55:16Giants, she divorced them. So.
- 55:19She or she was the better athlete.
- 55:21I don't know, but Chris Mcmonaco is AII have no idea what why and
- 55:28by the way he did. Craig Carton doesn't even let
- 55:30that guy speak. That guy does not, he's not even
- 55:34allowed to speak that. He has to have his own podcast
- 55:37because and nobody do you want to listen to a guy for six
- 55:40hours, six hours on the radio going back and forth with Craig
- 55:44Carney, who doesn't speak any sports whatsoever.
- 55:46He's talking about dog shit on the side, the side of the road
- 55:49and people don't pick up their dog shit.
- 55:50I mean, this is sports radio. I don't want to hear about your
- 55:54take on dog crap or doggy Doo Doo or this stuff.
- 55:57And then you talk about The Jets like you're they're your team.
- 56:00Meanwhile, you've thrown The Jets under the bus every single
- 56:02year you've been on WFN. So I, I just, I don't want to
- 56:06hear it. And then I listen to Chris and
- 56:09then after six hours he has his own podcast almost every other
- 56:12day. Why do I want to hear that fat
- 56:14ass on his own podcast? Have to listen to him for six
- 56:16hours with Craig Cotton. It's pathetic.
- 56:19It's garbage. Brandon Tierney is probably one
- 56:23of the more talented guys WFA had, and they fired his ass.
- 56:28It makes no sense. None of it.
- 56:31So please, tell me, what if I'm wrong about this great Giannotti
- 56:36taking shots at Brandon Tierney? It's just ridiculous.
- 56:39And all he does is do these these impressions, you know,
- 56:44tries to do the Frank Sinatra thing.
- 56:45He tries to do this, tries to do that.
- 56:47And I don't want to hear about the ministry Minnesota Vikings
- 56:49here in New York. I could give a crap about the
- 56:52Minnesota Vikings. Thank you to all the fans on
- 56:55Spotify and Apple video and audio.
- 56:57Thank you to all the TikTok fans, the Instagram fans, the X
- 57:00fans, the YouTube fans for joining us and, and, and

- 57:13all show long. So thank you, Nathan, Mr. Mr.

- 57:45He'll be joining us at 8:20. And then on Thursday, safety and
- 57:48outside linebacker from Navy 6 foot 202 LB Jackson Campbell
- 57:52will be joining us. Make her squirt.
- 57:55Make me jerk. Very interesting guy as always
- 57:59Nathan, as he always says. I love Lisa Ann.
- 58:02As he always says, and he never will get Lisa Ann.
- 58:05Just so everybody knows. No way.
- 58:07I think Lisa Lisa Ann has slept with every single cowboy player
- 58:10in the 90s. Nathan's probably like, like,
- 58:14like a little teddy bear to her. I mean, I mean, 5 foot 6.
- 58:20I mean, come on. She would torture that guy.
- 58:23Him and his blue blazer. There he is, Nithin the Care
- 58:30Bear. That's it is, that's all it is.
- 58:33I love his hand athletes. Athletes.
- 58:38Athletes, athletes. I love when he says that.
- 58:40And I'm like athletes, you mean athletes.
- 58:45I love you Nith we love you. That's it.
