The Kratzville Phantom
In January 1916, the rural farming community of Kratzville, Indiana, was gripped by fear when residents began spotting a mysterious, glowing ball of fire floating through Earl Goldsmith’s farm and the surrounding Elmendorf’s Woods. Local saloon owner Fred Klenck organized a "Great Spook Drive," leading an armed posse of 25 men and "spook hounds" into the forest to find the phantom.
