  Speaker 1: I want you to be at the centre of everything

  Speaker 1: Because when you put God at the centre of your life,

  Speaker 1: He gets involved, and He makes your life so full

  Speaker 1: of meaning, so full of purpose. He gives you the

  Speaker 1: strength to face whatever He allows into your day, and

  Speaker 1: you can shine as a light even in the darkest place,

  Speaker 1: the darkest circumstance. You are able to love people who
• 0:44
  Speaker 1: you might not have been able to love on your own,
• 0:47
  Speaker 1: but God loving them through you.

  Speaker 1: Nothing better than to put God in the centre of
• 0:52
  Speaker 1: your day. Well, that's what we do each weekday morning

  Speaker 1: at this time. We come and spend some time with

  Speaker 1: God in the Bible. Today we want to look in
• 1:02
  Speaker 1: Psalm 119, 1 of the great chapters in the Bible,
• 1:06
  Speaker 1: the longest chapter in the Bible, and in this chapter
• 1:11
  Speaker 1: it's totally focused on the impact of God's word in
• 1:16
  Speaker 1: our lives.

  Speaker 1: This week we're talking all week about guidance, finding out
• 1:21
  Speaker 1: what God wants to do in my life, how God
• 1:24
  Speaker 1: wants to lead me, and there's such a simple, clear
• 1:28
  Speaker 1: principle for us about guidance in Psalm 119 verse 105.

  Speaker 1: Here's what the psalmist says to us.

  Speaker 1: Your word talking to God, this is a prayer. Your
• 1:45
  Speaker 1: word is a lamp to my feet.
• 1:49
  Speaker 1: And a light to my path.

  Speaker 1: Well, you see the principle immediately, don't you, if you
• 1:56
  Speaker 1: want guidance, if you want to know what God wants

  Speaker 1: for your life, what God wants in the decision you're facing,

  Speaker 1: what God wants for your future, near or far.

  Speaker 1: The place to go for insight is to God's word.

  Speaker 1: Your word, and God's word for us that we can
• 2:17
  Speaker 1: go to so readily, is the Bible. Your word is
• 2:22
  Speaker 1: a lamp to my feet.

  Speaker 1: Now the lamp in Bible times was just a little
• 2:31
  Speaker 1: wick sticking in some oil and sticking out the spout

  Speaker 1: of a little clay jar that you would carry, and

  Speaker 1: when you carried a lamp, uh, it didn't put out
• 2:41
  Speaker 1: much light if you can imagine just carrying a candle.

  Speaker 1: Well, it just shines a little circle of light, really,
• 2:50
  Speaker 1: just enough to light your next step. And isn't this
• 2:55
  Speaker 1: so often the way God leads us? He doesn't tell
• 2:58
  Speaker 1: us what's coming 10 years down the road. That would

  Speaker 1: probably really scare us to know that ha. But He

  Speaker 1: shows us the next step, and this is the way

  Speaker 1: you need to learn to live your life. Yes, you

  Speaker 1: should think strategically about things that have a long-term impact.

  Speaker 1: But very much you should learn to say, God, what
• 3:18
  Speaker 1: is it that you want to do in my life today?

  Speaker 1: Because God will allow circumstances into your life that you
• 3:24
  Speaker 1: could not foresee. You didn't know what your facing now
• 3:28
  Speaker 1: was going to be facing you, maybe even just a
• 3:31
  Speaker 1: week ago. But here you are, and you need to
• 3:34
  Speaker 1: know what God wants you to do. Well, make it
• 3:38
  Speaker 1: the pattern of your life to just spend time in
• 3:43
  Speaker 1: God's word every single day.
• 3:45
  Speaker 1: Yes, we have this little time together on the radio,
• 3:48
  Speaker 1: but I encourage you in your own personal life to
• 3:52
  Speaker 1: have a time set aside each day to just open
• 3:55
  Speaker 1: your Bible, read a chapter, and allow God to speak

  Speaker 1: to you.

  Speaker 1: God will begin to shape your heart and mind. He'll

  Speaker 1: give you insights. He'll take you to passages of scripture

  Speaker 1: that are just what you need at just the right time.

  Speaker 1: It'll be a lamp to your feet. You'll understand what
• 4:16
  Speaker 1: step you need to take next and a light to
• 4:20
  Speaker 1: your path, just showing you the way forward.

  Speaker 1: Well, learning to think about what the Bible says and
• 4:29
  Speaker 1: how it has a bearing on what you're facing, it's amazing,
• 4:34
  Speaker 1: absolutely amazing how God can speak directly into your circumstance
• 4:41
  Speaker 1: through a passage of Scripture out of the blue, just
• 4:45
  Speaker 1: what you need, but you miss it if you don't
• 4:48
  Speaker 1: get your Bible open.
