Welcome to Bible Chat, where we have devotional conversations
• 0:06
rooted in Scripture and relevant for today, February 4th.
• 0:11
Don't waste your season. Have you ever looked back on a
• 0:14
moment and thought I had more time, I had more ability, I just
• 0:18
didn't use it? Maybe it was a class you could
• 0:21
have taken more seriously, a friendship you could have
• 0:24
invested in, or a season where you knew God was nudging you,
• 0:28
but you kept putting it off. Regret has a way of showing up
• 0:32
when opportunities pass us by. Proverbs chapter 10, verses 4 to
• 0:36
5 speak straight into that feeling.
• 0:39
It tells us that a slack hand leads to lack, but the hand of
• 0:42
the diligent brings increase. It says the one who gathers in
• 0:46
summer is wise, but the one who sleeps during harvest brings
• 0:49
shame. In other words, timing matters.
• 0:53
There are seasons when effort counts more than later excuses.
• 0:56
What you do now shapes what you experience next.
• 0:59
Psalm 14 adds another layer. It says the Lord looks down from
• 1:04
heaven to see if there are any who understand, any who truly
• 1:07
  seek after God. That's sobering.
• 1:10
God isn't just watching outcomes, He's watching pursuit.
• 1:14
He's not impressed by busy lives that ignore Him, but he is drawn
• 1:18
to hearts that actively seek Him in the middle of everyday life.
• 1:22
Then we see this lived out powerfully.
• 1:24
In Acts chapter 4. Peter and John are standing
• 1:28
before powerful leaders who are questioning them.
• 1:31
  These leaders noticed something surprising.
• 1:34
Acts chapter 4 verse 13 says they saw their boldness and
• 1:38
realized they were ordinary, uneducated men and they were
• 1:41
  astonished. Why?
• 1:43
Because they recognized that these men had been with Jesus.
• 1:47
Peter and John didn't waste their season walking with him.
• 1:50
They listened. They learned they were changed,
• 1:53
and when pressure came, what had been planted earlier showed up
• 1:56
as courage. This is such an important
• 1:59
reminder for us. You don't drift into spiritual
• 2:02
  strength. You don't accidentally become
• 2:04
bold in faith. It's built quietly, daily, in
• 2:07
the seasons that don't feel dramatic.
• 2:10
Prayer when no one sees. Obedience when it's
• 2:13
inconvenient. Choosing diligence when it would
• 2:15
be easier to sleep through the harvest.
• 2:17
Your current season matters more than you think.
• 2:21
The habits you're forming now are shaping the person you're
• 2:23
becoming. God is inviting you not to waste
• 2:26
what He's given you, but to lean in, seek Him, and stay faithful.
• 2:31
And one day, when pressure comes or opportunity knocks, people
• 2:35
will notice something different about you, too.
• 2:37
Not because you're impressive, but because you've been with
• 2:39
  Jesus. Let's pray.
• 2:43
Heavenly Father, thank you for reminding me that this season of
• 2:46
my life matters. Help me not to waste the
• 2:48
opportunities you've placed in front of me.
• 2:52
Teach me to be diligent with my time, my faith, and my
• 2:54
relationships. Stir my heart to seek You daily,
• 2:58
not halfway, but fully, and let your presence shape me so
• 3:02
clearly that others can see I've been with Jesus.
• 3:05
In Jesus name, Amen. What if the way you pray changed
• 3:09
because you truly knew who God is?

Proverbs chapter 10 verses 4 to 5 World English Bible.
• 4:33
He becomes poor who works with a lazy hand, but the hand of the
• 4:36
diligent brings wealth. He who gathers in summer is a
• 4:40
wise son, but he who sleeps during the harvest is a son who
• 4:43
causes shame. Psalm chapter 14 World English
• 4:47
Bible for the chief musician by David.
• 4:49
The fool has said in his heart there is no God.
• 4:52
They are corrupt. They have done abominable deeds.
• 4:55
There is no one who does good. Yahweh looked down from heaven
• 4:58
on the children of men to see if there were any who understood
• 5:01
who sought after God. They have all gone aside.
• 5:04
  They have together become corrupt.
• 5:07
There is no one who does good. No, not one have all the workers
• 5:10
of iniquity no knowledge who eat up my people as they eat bread,
• 5:13
and don't call on Yahweh. There they were in great fear,
• 5:17
for God is in the generation of the righteous.
• 5:19
You frustrate the plan of the poor, because Yahweh is His
• 5:22
refuge. Oh, that the salvation of Israel
• 5:25
would come out of Zion. When Yahweh restores the
• 5:28
fortunes of His people, then Jacob shall rejoice and Israel
• 5:32
shall be glad. Acts, chapter 4.
• 5:34
World English Bible As they spoke to the people, the priests
• 5:38
and the captain of the Temple and the Sadducees came to them,
• 5:41
being upset because they taught the people and proclaimed in
• 5:44
Jesus the resurrection from the dead.
• 5:47
They laid hands on them and put them in custody until the next
• 5:50
day, for it was now evening. But many of those who heard the
• 5:53
word believed, and the number of the men came to be about 5000 in
• 5:58
the morning. Their rulers, elders, and
• 6:00
scribes were gathered together in Jerusalem.
• 6:03
Anas, the high priest, was there with Caiaphas, John, Alexander,
• 6:07
and as many as were relatives of the high priest.
• 6:09
When they had stood Peter and John in the middle of them, they
• 6:12
inquired, By what power or in what name have you done this?
• 6:16
Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, You rulers
• 6:20
of the people and elders of Israel, If we are examined today
• 6:23
concerning a good deed done to a crippled man, by what means this
• 6:27
man has been healed? May it be known to you all and
• 6:30
to all the people of Israel, that in the name of Jesus Christ
• 6:33
of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead,
• 6:37
this man stands here before you, hole in him.
• 6:40
He is the stone which was regarded as worthless by you,
• 6:43
the builders, which has become the head of the corner.
• 6:46
There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name
• 6:49
under heaven that is given among men by which we must be saved.
• 6:53
Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and had
• 6:56
perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they
• 6:59
marvelled, They recognized that they had been with Jesus.
• 7:02
Seeing the man who was healed standing with them, they could
• 7:05
say nothing against it. But when they had commanded them
• 7:08
to go aside out of the council, they conferred among themselves,
• 7:11
saying, What shall we do to these men?
• 7:15
Because indeed a notable miracle has been done through them, as
• 7:18
can be plainly seen by all who dwell in Jerusalem, and we can't
• 7:21
deny it. But so that this spreads no
• 7:24
further among the people, let's threaten them that from now on
• 7:27
they don't speak to anyone in this name.
• 7:30
They called them and commanded them not to speak at all, nor
• 7:33
teach in the name of Jesus. But Peter and John answered
• 7:36
them, whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you
• 7:39
rather than to God, judge for yourselves.
• 7:42
For we can't help telling the things which we saw and heard.
• 7:45
When they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding
• 7:49
no way to punish them because of the people.
• 7:51
For everyone glorified God for that which was done.
• 7:55
For the man on whom this miracle of healing was performed was
• 7:58
more than 40 years old. Being let go, they came to their
• 8:01
own company and reported all that the chief priests and the
• 8:04
elders had said to them. When they heard it, they lifted
• 8:07
up their voice to God with 1 accord and said, Oh Lord, you
• 8:11
are God who made the heaven, the earth, the sea, and all that is
• 8:14
in them. Who by the mouth of your servant
• 8:16
David said, Why do the nation's rage and the people's plot a
• 8:20
vain thing? The kings of the earth take a
• 8:22
stand, and the rulers plot together against the Lord and
• 8:25
against his Christ. For truly both Herod and Pontius
• 8:29
Pillate with the Gentiles and the people of Israel were
• 8:32
gathered together against your holy servant Jesus, whom you
• 8:35
anointed to do whatever your hand and your counsel for
• 8:38
ordained to happen. Now, Lord, look at their threats
• 8:41
and grant to Your servants to speak Your word with all
• 8:44
boldness, while you stretch out your hand to heal, and that
• 8:47
signs and wonders may be done through the name of Your holy
• 8:50
servant Jesus. When they had prayed, the place
• 8:53
was shaken where they were gathered together.
• 8:55
They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and they spoke the
• 8:58
Word of God with boldness. The multitude of those who
• 9:01
believed were of 1 heart and soul.
• 9:04
Not one of them claimed that anything of the things which he
• 9:06
possessed was his own, but they had all things in common with
• 9:10
great power. The apostles gave their
• 9:12
testimony of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus.
• 9:15
Great grace was on them all, for neither was there among them any
• 9:19
who lacked. For as many as were owners of
• 9:21
lands or houses sold them and brought the proceeds of the
• 9:25
things that were sold and laid them at the apostles feet and
• 9:29
distribution was made to each according as anyone had need.
• 9:32
Jose is who by the apostles was also called Barnabas, which is
• 9:36
being interpreted son of encouragement, A Levite, a man
• 9:40
of Cyprus by race having a field sold it and brought the money
• 9:44
and laid it at the apostles feet.
