- 0:12Speaker 1: It's time Hell, no lo and no Welcome to the
- 0:15Speaker 1: Naughty but Night Show. I'm your host, Rob Shooter. It's Friday.
- 0:18Speaker 1: Did you all have a fantastic Thanksgiving? I hope so.
- 0:22Speaker 1: I am full today, full with food, but maybe more importantly,
- 0:27Speaker 1: full with love. We had a lovely day with Bruce's family,
- 0:30Speaker 1: Neil and Leslie on Long Island. Thank you for the invite.
- 0:34Speaker 1: That new Penn station, that Moynahan station in New York.
- 0:38Speaker 1: It's so nice. It's exactly the type of train station
- 0:41Speaker 1: New York City should have it. It's just glorious. We
- 0:45Speaker 1: caught the train out. We had lots to eat Leslie.
- 0:48Speaker 1: The food was amazing, and lots to take home to
- 0:52Speaker 1: Leslie was kind of love to send us back to
- 0:55Speaker 1: the city with a little care package or two. So
- 0:58Speaker 1: I think I'm going to have another turkey dinner today.
- 1:00Speaker 1: Lots and lots of food. But as I said, most importantly,
- 1:04Speaker 1: it wasn't the food, it was the company, it was
- 1:06Speaker 1: the love. Thank you for having us. I hope you
- 1:09Speaker 1: had a lovely day too. Cory is off today. Cory
- 1:11Speaker 1: is enjoying the Thanksgiving weekend. I guess now, and so
- 1:16Speaker 1: it's just us today. Naughties. But don't don't be worried.
- 1:19Speaker 1: We've got a lot to talk about. What time is it,
- 1:20Speaker 1: my friends? It is tea time, big story out of
- 1:24Speaker 1: London which is blowing up around the world. Let me explain.
- 1:28Speaker 1: So Wicked have issued trigger warnings on the movie and
- 1:34Speaker 1: people are now outraged by this. The British Board of
- 1:39Speaker 1: Film Classification, quite fancy they're called the BBFC, has found
- 1:44Speaker 1: itself at the center of a storm after issuing a
- 1:48Speaker 1: trigger warning for Wicked in the UK, and social media
- 1:53Speaker 1: is anything but enchanted. So the BBFC's note highlighted themes
- 2:00Speaker 1: in the highly anticipated musical It's a Huge hit, stating
- 2:03Speaker 1: quote a green skinned woman is mocked, bullied and humiliated
- 2:10Speaker 1: because of her skin color, a disabled girl in a
- 2:14Speaker 1: wheelchair is treated in a condescending manner by able bodied people,
- 2:20Speaker 1: and finally, talking animals are persecuted in a fantastical society.
- 2:28Speaker 1: Now Piers Morgan, who always weighs in on this stuff,
- 2:31Speaker 1: he's never let an opportunity to get some attention pass
- 2:35Speaker 1: him by. I was on Pierce's show a couple of
- 2:37Speaker 1: weeks ago. It's a great show. What he is good
- 2:40Speaker 1: at is really really tapping in to. I think what
- 2:44Speaker 1: really presses people's buttons. So I'm not sure anybody who
- 2:49Speaker 1: saw the film, who saw Wicked, felt like they needed
- 2:51Speaker 1: a trigger warning. We know the story, let's be honest.
- 2:54Speaker 1: Now it's been on Broadway for over twenty years, so
- 2:56Speaker 1: we know what's going to happen in it. But what
- 2:58Speaker 1: Piers is really good at is fighting back, pushing back
- 3:02Speaker 1: when a trigger warning or when it feels as if
- 3:06Speaker 1: as a group, as a society, in his opinion, we've
- 3:09Speaker 1: gone too far. Let me explain what he said. P
- 3:11Speaker 1: has weighed in. He fired off a post to all
- 3:13Speaker 1: his followers on social media, telling the woke brigade to
- 3:19Speaker 1: f off with this nonsense. Now, in the US, no
- 3:23Speaker 1: such trigger warning accompanies the film, so we've seen it here.
- 3:26Speaker 1: In America you'll see there's no trigger warning. I've seen
- 3:29Speaker 1: it here. It is fantastic, no trigger warning, leaving many
- 3:32Speaker 1: to question whether the outrage is warranted or misplaced. If
- 3:36Speaker 1: Britain wants to do this, I guess it's up to them.
- 3:38Speaker 1: The BBFC, they're in charge of this. It's their classification.
- 3:43Speaker 1: They're an official agency and they watch all the films,
- 3:46Speaker 1: every single film, and they decided that this one needed
- 3:49Speaker 1: a trigger warning now in America, not the case. People
- 3:53Speaker 1: did not feel like that at all. People in positions
- 3:56Speaker 1: of power. Where are you on this one? Have you
- 3:58Speaker 1: seen the movie and did it set you? And I
- 4:01Speaker 1: think that's the point though, it's meant to upset you
- 4:04Speaker 1: because Alphabe's story it's really really dramatic, it's really really
- 4:09Speaker 1: sad and empowering. Let's remember, at the end of the day,
- 4:12Speaker 1: the Green Witch is not so Wicked after all. I
- 4:15Speaker 1: don't want to give spoiler alerts, but once again, this project,
- 4:19Speaker 1: this musical has been out for over twenty years. So
- 4:22Speaker 1: despite this controversy and it is big today people are
- 4:25Speaker 1: going to be talking about this. Wicked remains a box
- 4:27Speaker 1: office powerhouse and it's on track to make about two
- 4:31Speaker 1: hundred and fifty million by Sunday, making it the highest
- 4:34Speaker 1: grossing movie adaptation of a musical ever ever. I also
- 4:39Speaker 1: looked on the album charts. It looks like the album's
- 4:41Speaker 1: going to be number two on the charts this week.
- 4:43Speaker 1: If it wasn't for Kendrick Lamar's new album, it would
- 4:46Speaker 1: be number one. And so also, gosh yes, I looked
- 4:49Speaker 1: up the single charts. Popular is on the single charts
- 4:53Speaker 1: also to Defying Gravity, the big hit song from the musical.
- 4:58Speaker 1: It's on the charts twice. Cynthia Arrivera's version is in
- 5:02Speaker 1: the top ten, and Adina Manzelle, who sang the original
- 5:06Speaker 1: on Broadway, is in the top thirty. So it's a
- 5:09Speaker 1: monster hit on the single chance at the box office.
- 5:12Speaker 1: But it is getting some pushback now saying does this
- 5:16Speaker 1: movie need a trigger warning? We've seen this happen a lot.
- 5:18Speaker 1: I remember Gone with the Wind now has a trigger
- 5:21Speaker 1: warning on that, and so maybe they should have one
- 5:26Speaker 1: on Wicked, which brings us to our whole question of
- 5:28Speaker 1: the day. What do you think Wicked in the UK
- 5:31Speaker 1: has issued a trigger warning, baking viewers aware that the
- 5:35Speaker 1: content might be upsetting. Now that has not happened in America.
- 5:38Speaker 1: There is no warning in America. Where are you on this?
- 5:41Speaker 1: What do you think should there be a warning on Wicked? Yes?
- 5:46Speaker 1: Or no? I'm not sure it takes anything away from
- 5:50Speaker 1: the movie. So if I saw it and I saw
- 5:52Speaker 1: a warning letting me know, my goodness, this is happening,
- 5:55Speaker 1: or that is happening, or the following is happening, I
- 5:58Speaker 1: think I've been more upset that it was a spoil
- 6:00Speaker 1: are alert than it was something that would trigger me,
- 6:02Speaker 1: But nevertheless, I want to know what you think about
- 6:04Speaker 1: this noughties. Should there be a trigger warning on wicked
- 6:09Speaker 1: here in the US as well as in the UK.
- 6:12Speaker 1: Go vote on our Twitter page ad noughdy nize rob
- 6:15Speaker 1: Facebook pages naughty gossip and be sure to check back
- 6:18Speaker 1: on Monday to hear your results. We have some Thanksgiving news.
- 6:22Speaker 1: Tom Brady was working. He was working over the Thanksgiving
- 6:25Speaker 1: while his ex wife Giselle was with the kids in
- 6:28Speaker 1: Costa Rica. I know where I would rather be, so
- 6:31Speaker 1: Tom Brady traded the turkey for touchdowns this Thanksgiving as
- 6:36Speaker 1: he stepped into the broadcast booth for his first ever
- 6:39Speaker 1: Thanksgiving Day game with Fox Sports. It's a big game
- 6:43Speaker 1: on Thanksgiving Day. He was really honored to be part
- 6:47Speaker 1: of that. He's trying to transition. He's one of the
- 6:50Speaker 1: best football players of all time, arguably the best. He
- 6:53Speaker 1: would say that, but now that career is over for him,
- 6:56Speaker 1: he's retired, but he still loves the game. He can
- 6:59Speaker 1: make a lot of money broadcasting. He inked a jaw
- 7:02Speaker 1: dropping a three hundred and seventy five million deal with
- 7:05Speaker 1: Fox You heard that right. Three hundred and seventy five
- 7:09Speaker 1: million deals with Fox, and he couldn't hide his excitement.
- 7:12Speaker 1: Who could calling it a quote pinch myself moments and
- 7:16Speaker 1: I get goosebumps. So while he was working, Giselle and
- 7:20Speaker 1: the kids was celebrating the holidays soaking in the sun
- 7:24Speaker 1: in Costa Rica. This is where these two were so different,
- 7:29Speaker 1: So we never really got to the bottom of their breakup.
- 7:32Speaker 1: She's now pregnant with her child with Joachim, her new boyfriend.
- 7:37Speaker 1: Insiders tell me they were just such different people. She enjoys,
- 7:42Speaker 1: enjoys her success by taking time off. He cannot stop working.
- 7:47Speaker 1: He is like a shark. Insiders tell me his happiest
- 7:50Speaker 1: when he's working, when he's around football. Remember, there was
- 7:54Speaker 1: a lot of debate about her being furious that he
- 7:56Speaker 1: would not retire, and then he did, but he wanted
- 7:58Speaker 1: to get back, and then he did go back. All
- 8:01Speaker 1: of that is true. My sources tell me it was
- 8:03Speaker 1: about work verse time with the family and Giselle the
- 8:08Speaker 1: number one priority is her kids. Now I'm not saying
- 8:11Speaker 1: it's not for Tom. I'm not saying that, but I'm
- 8:13Speaker 1: saying Tom juggles this and has much more conflicted feelings
- 8:17Speaker 1: about it. Jozelle would give up modeling in a second
- 8:20Speaker 1: to be with those kids she practically has. She has
- 8:23Speaker 1: enough money that she'll never ever have to work again,
- 8:26Speaker 1: and the same is true with Tom. Tom Brady has
- 8:28Speaker 1: made so much money he doesn't need the money, so
- 8:31Speaker 1: he's not doing it for that. A lot of people
- 8:33Speaker 1: do their job for the money, Let's be honest, lots
- 8:35Speaker 1: of people. I've had jobs that I didn't even like,
- 8:37Speaker 1: but they paid me well, so I did them. I'm
- 8:40Speaker 1: talking about representing some of those means celebrities, let me
- 8:42Speaker 1: tell you. But at the moment, I have a really
- 8:46Speaker 1: nice balance where I have enough time with my family,
- 8:48Speaker 1: with Bruce, with people I love, my friends, and I
- 8:51Speaker 1: also make enough money from a job I enjoyed doing.
- 8:54Speaker 1: But I could be more successful if I worked more hours.
- 8:58Speaker 1: I don't want to. I was up for this big
- 9:00Speaker 1: job more for it's a little bit, a little bit
- 9:03Speaker 1: too dramatic. I got a call from somebody asking me
- 9:05Speaker 1: if i'd be interested in heading up this big, big website.
- 9:09Speaker 1: It was a huge site, it still is. I don't
- 9:11Speaker 1: want to do it. The money was delicious, but it
- 9:13Speaker 1: would mean I would be working. It feels like twenty
- 9:16Speaker 1: four hours a day, like it's just it's never ending.
- 9:18Speaker 1: And it's seven days a week. You don't get off
- 9:21Speaker 1: a Saturday or a Sunday. I have my phone on me,
- 9:23Speaker 1: and I do work occasionally on the weekends, but it's
- 9:26Speaker 1: not a day that I sit at my desk working
- 9:28Speaker 1: like I do Monday to Friday. And so the balance
- 9:31Speaker 1: here between work and real life is so important. I
- 9:34Speaker 1: would go with Gazelle on this one, But what about you?
- 9:37Speaker 1: Are you more of a tom or more of a gazelle? Okay,
- 9:40Speaker 1: moving along this story. Oh, it's tricky and I don't
- 9:43Speaker 1: want to upset any of our young listeners, so let's
- 9:45Speaker 1: tread carefully on this. Robin Thick is spilling on the
- 9:50Speaker 1: stressful Santa Clause talk that he might have to have
- 9:54Speaker 1: very soon with his four children. He said, sooner or later,
- 9:58Speaker 1: the fantasy is over. Let me explain. So Robin is
- 10:02Speaker 1: saying that the holidays are not all twinkling lights and
- 10:06Speaker 1: festive cheer. There's also the tricky business of the Santa
- 10:09Speaker 1: Clause conversation. The father afore opened up about the challenges
- 10:15Speaker 1: of keeping the magic alive. Let's say that the magic
- 10:18Speaker 1: alive while attending the Grooves and your Christmas tree lighting
- 10:22Speaker 1: in la He told page six quote, the Santa conversation
- 10:26Speaker 1: is a stressful conversation. It certainly is, and he's trying
- 10:32Speaker 1: to figure it all out. He said also too, that
- 10:35Speaker 1: if your kids go to a school where there's lots
- 10:38Speaker 1: of kids of different religions, then these conversations actually start
- 10:41Speaker 1: a little bit earlier. Now he goes with the following mantra,
- 10:46Speaker 1: and I think I'm not a parent. If you're a parent,
- 10:48Speaker 1: maybe this is a good idea. He tells his kids.
- 10:50Speaker 1: If you believe Santa will come, I like that. When
- 10:56Speaker 1: do you feel though, When is the time when you
- 10:59Speaker 1: maybe can start talking about not believing? What is this?
- 11:03Speaker 1: This is a question for all the parents out there.
- 11:05Speaker 1: What do you do when your kids ask you these
- 11:08Speaker 1: really important questions, questions that could potentially take a little
- 11:13Speaker 1: bit of magic out of their lives. Nobody ever told me.
- 11:18Speaker 1: My mom and dad never sat down, and they avoided
- 11:21Speaker 1: this conversation. But when I was probably about twelve, maybe
- 11:24Speaker 1: a little earlier, because I had an older sister and
- 11:26Speaker 1: I was very noosy. I'm a very curious little boy.
- 11:29Speaker 1: I was, I still am. Maybe when I was about ten,
- 11:32Speaker 1: maybe even nine. I started to ask questions and none
- 11:36Speaker 1: of it sort of added up to me, and my
- 11:38Speaker 1: mom and dad sort of just brushed it off. They
- 11:40Speaker 1: never really said anything. But kids talk about it on
- 11:43Speaker 1: the playground, they talk about it at school. What do
- 11:45Speaker 1: you think here? Should you say something or should you
- 11:48Speaker 1: just pretend as if the magic is something that if
- 11:53Speaker 1: you want to believe in, then you do it? Okay?
- 11:56Speaker 1: Moving along, Kate and William have made a beautiful gesture
- 11:59Speaker 1: on social media. So Kate and William are mourning a
- 12:03Speaker 1: brave teen who lost a battle with cancer as the
- 12:07Speaker 1: princess focuses on her own recovery. So Prince William and
- 12:11Speaker 1: Princess Kate were grieving the loss of a remarkable team
- 12:15Speaker 1: who inspired them for her bravery. The royal couple paid
- 12:20Speaker 1: tribute to seventeen year old Liz Hatton. Let's remember that name,
- 12:25Speaker 1: Liz Hatton, who tragically passed away after a courageous battle
- 12:30Speaker 1: with cancer. In a heartfelt message shared on their official
- 12:34Speaker 1: ex account, the Prince and the Princess of Wales wrote
- 12:37Speaker 1: to quote, we are so sorry to hear that Liz
- 12:40Speaker 1: Hatton has sadly passed away. It was an honor to
- 12:44Speaker 1: have met such a brave and humble young woman. They
- 12:49Speaker 1: signed the note with their initials W and C. Catherine.
- 12:53Speaker 1: That's how they sign their notes now. Liz met the
- 12:55Speaker 1: Royal couple last month when she achieved a special special
- 12:59Speaker 1: win to meet them in person, and this encounter had
- 13:03Speaker 1: a lasting impression on William and Kate, clearly because what
- 13:06Speaker 1: Kate is going through it was even more profound. They
- 13:09Speaker 1: did stay in touch, and now Liz has tragically passed,
- 13:13Speaker 1: but they wanted to acknowledge her. And I think that
- 13:15Speaker 1: what they said is just beautiful. Cancer. Cancer. Oh, it's
- 13:20Speaker 1: such a beast. I can't wait for the day. Wouldn't
- 13:22Speaker 1: it be thankful for that when we finally finally find
- 13:27Speaker 1: a cure, find a solution for this awful, awful disease. Hey,
- 13:30Speaker 1: we're thinking about you, Liz, quickly before we get a break.
- 13:33Speaker 1: This story is hilarious. So fans are roasting NBC for
- 13:36Speaker 1: putting Al Roca in what appeared to be a tiny
- 13:38Speaker 1: chair during the Thanksgiving Day prayed people saying get him
- 13:42Speaker 1: a booster seat. So Al has become the unexpected star
- 13:46Speaker 1: of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Prayed broadcast not for his
- 13:49Speaker 1: weather updates or his witty commentary, but rather his comically
- 13:53Speaker 1: his small chair next to co hosts Savannah Guffrey and
- 13:56Speaker 1: hod A Coppy. The seventy year old Today's Show I
- 14:00Speaker 1: Can't looked noticeably shorter as he sat at the festive
- 14:05Speaker 1: desk alongside Savannah and Hoder during the coverage of the parade.
- 14:10Speaker 1: Fans took to social media, accusing the network of doing
- 14:13Speaker 1: Al the dirty by seating him in what appeared to
- 14:17Speaker 1: be an itty bitty chair. Person on social media commented,
- 14:21Speaker 1: if anyone is hiring, please let me know what can
- 14:24Speaker 1: be the person at NBC that gives Ol an appropriate
- 14:27Speaker 1: size chair. Another person wrote, quote, because I'm ill broker
- 14:33Speaker 1: a booster at seat, it did look strange. I was
- 14:36Speaker 1: watching the preade. I watched it every morning before we
- 14:37Speaker 1: went out to Neil and Lesley's on Long Island. I
- 14:40Speaker 1: was watching the prede and the dog Show. I loved
- 14:42Speaker 1: the dog show. Congratulations to the Pug. The pug wor
- 14:45Speaker 1: gorgeous and so I was watching it and it did
- 14:48Speaker 1: appear as if Al was teeny tiny. They put him
- 14:51Speaker 1: in a smaller chair. It's a power move. When I
- 14:54Speaker 1: was on TV with Miss d when we had our
- 14:56Speaker 1: morning show. Miss d is much shorter than me and
- 14:59Speaker 1: actually probably a everybody else on the cast, so she
- 15:01Speaker 1: had a little booster seat. Her share was actually had
- 15:04Speaker 1: a cushion on it to booster her up a little
- 15:06Speaker 1: bit so that when we're all sitting behind the desk,
- 15:08Speaker 1: we all looked at least sort of a similar height.
- 15:11Speaker 1: Otherwise it just looks so strange. Check it out. Have
- 15:14Speaker 1: a look of the NBC parade on YouTube today. Yeah,
- 15:17Speaker 1: how weird it look. Somebody in props is going to
- 15:19Speaker 1: be getting a sharp call today. Okay, we're going to
- 15:22Speaker 1: take a quick break and we will be right back.
- 15:25Speaker 1: Welcome back to the Nordy n I Sham your host,
- 15:27Speaker 1: Rob Shooter. Hey, let's get to the polls DA DA.
- 15:30Speaker 1: Last share, we talked about tension between King Charles and
- 15:34Speaker 1: Prince William. This is a power struggle that has been
- 15:37Speaker 1: going on within the palace since Charles announced he had cancer.
- 15:42Speaker 1: William's team had been really stepping up. Well, part of
- 15:45Speaker 1: that stepping up to is a succession plan. You don't
- 15:48Speaker 1: get the job, it's so cruel. We talked about this,
- 15:50Speaker 1: didn't mean it's so cruel. William can't get this job
- 15:53Speaker 1: unless his dad dies or retires. Now, that does not
- 15:56Speaker 1: happen very often at all. But our question was a
- 16:00Speaker 1: man in his seventies with cancer should he retire? Now?
- 16:04Speaker 1: Should Charles pass the baton to William? What do you think?
- 16:08Speaker 1: Let's have a look. Oh sixty percent said yes, you
- 16:11Speaker 1: would like to see William King sooner than later. My
- 16:15Speaker 1: inside has tell me ain't gonna happen. He's wanted this
- 16:18Speaker 1: job for over seventy years, and now that he has it,
- 16:22Speaker 1: he ain't retiring, not just yet. Don't forget to vote
- 16:25Speaker 1: on today's pole. Go to my Twitter page at Naughty
- 16:27Speaker 1: Nizer rob Our facebook page is Nady goozib and be
- 16:30Speaker 1: sure to check back on Monday to he at your results.
- 16:33Speaker 1: And now it's time for the Nicest of the Day.
- 16:37Speaker 1: And nicest of the day is Jaylo, who is spotted
- 16:40Speaker 1: out and about in la celebrating her first Thanksgiving without
- 16:44Speaker 1: Ben Affleck, who spent it with Jennifer Gardner. So Les
- 16:48Speaker 1: Perez was spotted in La as she stepped out for
- 16:52Speaker 1: a stylish pre Thanksgiving lunch with her friends, marking her
- 16:56Speaker 1: first holiday season since filing for divorce from Ben in August. Now,
- 17:01Speaker 1: while Jennifer's exact Thanksgiving plans what she did yesterday are
- 17:06Speaker 1: not totally clear. Sources tell me that she did spend
- 17:10Speaker 1: time with her sixteen year old twins, who she shares
- 17:14Speaker 1: with her ex husband Mark Anthony. Meanwhile, her estranged husband
- 17:18Speaker 1: Ben affleck he was focused on his family. Ben spent
- 17:22Speaker 1: the day with his three children, Violet, Sarafina and Samuel,
- 17:27Speaker 1: and also Jennifer Gardner said they spent it together. Jennifer
- 17:31Speaker 1: was with her families, but I love this. She also
- 17:33Speaker 1: was with friends. Jennifer Lopez is a superstar, one of
- 17:37Speaker 1: the most famous people in the world, which is also
- 17:39Speaker 1: a human being, and this is a tough time. Holidays
- 17:42Speaker 1: can be difficult for people. They really can be. That's
- 17:45Speaker 1: one of the reasons that I love doing this show
- 17:47Speaker 1: on the holidays. I got some lovely notes yesterday, some dms,
- 17:50Speaker 1: some emails thanking me for our holiday shows. A lot
- 17:52Speaker 1: of podcast hosts take today and yesterday off, they take
- 17:56Speaker 1: a few days off, and I'm not for one second
- 18:00Speaker 1: throwing any shade at them. You pick your schedule. I
- 18:03Speaker 1: love doing my show, I really do. It gives me
- 18:05Speaker 1: nothing but pleasure. And there's something about the holidays where
- 18:07Speaker 1: I think you need a friend. I've had holidays where
- 18:10Speaker 1: I've been all alone. I really have. When I was
- 18:12Speaker 1: in Edinburgh study and I didn't have any money, I
- 18:14Speaker 1: didn't have that many friends. I would have loved to
- 18:16Speaker 1: have a familiar, a kind voice to listen to each morning.
