- 0:00Speaker 1: All right, guys, here we are our last break of
- 0:03Speaker 1: the day. You excited. This is a good day. We
- 0:06Speaker 1: have fun. Yeah, Friday day, Yeah, a three weekend labor day.
- 0:13Speaker 1: Let's going you doing all that? I don't really know yet.
- 0:23Speaker 1: Now I think my girl got to go somewhere, so
- 0:26Speaker 1: you're not sure I would? And see what my schedule
- 0:28Speaker 1: look like? Okay, all right, Well I got a question.
- 0:34Speaker 1: All right, soon as I get back from Birmingham, I
- 0:38Speaker 1: am on the grill. What are you cooking? Oh? I
- 0:44Speaker 1: got that wagon, steak girl, I got that. I got
- 0:47Speaker 1: some chicken in there. I got some some linked he
- 0:50Speaker 1: got some money. First it was caviare all right? First?
- 0:58Speaker 1: All right, come on, Carlo, you got a question for Steve? Yeah,
- 1:02Speaker 1: I saw this on a line. What do you usually
- 1:04Speaker 1: say to yourself when you fail at something? I mean,
- 1:10Speaker 1: what I've always said is get up. It's okay. If
- 1:16Speaker 1: I fail at something, that always means something to me
- 1:21Speaker 1: that I gave it one heck of a shot, because
- 1:24Speaker 1: I don't fail with half attempts. I'm all in, so
- 1:28Speaker 1: I know I've given it and my best shot, and
- 1:32Speaker 1: if I fail at it, it wasn't meant to be.
- 1:35Speaker 1: And so now I take away from that the two
- 1:38Speaker 1: things that I always come away with all moments of adversity.
- 1:42Speaker 1: There's a lesson and a blessing, and I immediately go
- 1:46Speaker 1: to both of those things, so I never wallow in failure.
- 1:50Speaker 1: Failure is a part of the process. I've learned to
- 1:52Speaker 1: accept that over the years. It's okay. I'm gonna tell
- 1:56Speaker 1: you something that was really dope, man. That happened, and
- 1:59Speaker 1: I wish I had mentioned it at invest Fest. I
- 2:01Speaker 1: had thought about it. I said, Manam, if somebody asked
- 2:04Speaker 1: me this, I'm gonna share something with it. I know
- 2:08Speaker 1: this is gonna be failure because the road I'm traveling
- 2:11Speaker 1: is always hard. And one of my friends this year,
- 2:17Speaker 1: we were at the ranch talking and one of my
- 2:20Speaker 1: friends said to me, they said, love, why you always
- 2:24Speaker 1: take the hard road? I said, what you mean, man?
- 2:28Speaker 1: He said, every time? Why you always take the hard road? Man?
- 2:32Speaker 1: I said, but brother, let me ask you something. What
- 2:35Speaker 1: makes you think I see two roads? See, I only
- 2:40Speaker 1: know the way. I already know that the way is
- 2:43Speaker 1: going to be hard. Already know that ain't no need
- 2:47Speaker 1: of taking the easy path. You ain't gonna get nothing,
- 2:49Speaker 1: You're not gonna accomplish nothing the easy road. That's not
- 2:54Speaker 1: the one you need to be on. Everybody on that
- 2:57Speaker 1: is crowded over there. Rick or one of the greatest
- 3:02Speaker 1: band leaders I've ever worked with in this business him
- 3:05Speaker 1: and rate you to the great ones. He wrote a
- 3:08Speaker 1: book one time, and I loved the title of the book.
- 3:11Speaker 1: He said. The name of his book was Ain't no
- 3:14Speaker 1: traffic on the Extra Mile. That was the dopest title
- 3:20Speaker 1: of a book I've ever read. Ain't no traffic on
- 3:24Speaker 1: the extra mile. If you go extra it's clear out there,
- 3:29Speaker 1: it's clear. So the road I'm always traveling is always
- 3:33Speaker 1: the hard one because I already know what I want.
- 3:40Speaker 1: The things I want in life, they're going to be
- 3:42Speaker 1: difficult to acquire. I've gotten all the stuff that's easy
- 3:45Speaker 1: to get, already got all that what you know? So
- 3:52Speaker 1: why would you keep taking the easy road? If you
- 3:55Speaker 1: have everything that's on the easy road? What you over
- 3:57Speaker 1: there for? You got to take the hard road. But
- 4:01Speaker 1: like I tell people, like I told my Pardner, and
- 4:03Speaker 1: I wish I had said it, that invests first, what
- 4:05Speaker 1: makes you think I see two roads? Because I only
- 4:09Speaker 1: see the way, and I already know that the way
- 4:12Speaker 1: is hard. It is froth with pitfalls and land minds
- 4:18Speaker 1: and hardships and tribulations, and I expect that. So when
- 4:26Speaker 1: I fail, I know it's a part of the process,
- 4:31Speaker 1: and I immediately know, well, I got that out the way,
- 4:34Speaker 1: so now I know what else not to do, And
- 4:36Speaker 1: knowing what not to do is just as valuable as
- 4:39Speaker 1: knowing what to do. So now I'm one step closer
- 4:43Speaker 1: to the goal. And that's how you got to look
- 4:46Speaker 1: at failure, man, because it's not failure, it's gained experience.
- 4:51Speaker 1: It's not failure, it's a gained experience, and that experience
- 4:56Speaker 1: can be valuable because I'm telling you, if you live
- 4:59Speaker 1: long enough, will know this to be true. It is
- 5:03Speaker 1: just as good to know what not to do sometimes
- 5:06Speaker 1: as it is to know what to do. My father
- 5:10Speaker 1: used to tell me all the time, son, when a
- 5:12Speaker 1: fool is talking, don't walk away, stay there, pay close attention.
- 5:18Speaker 1: And I used to be confusing to me. So I
- 5:21Speaker 1: asked my father once, I said, Daan, why would I
- 5:23Speaker 1: stand there talking to a fool? He said, because he's
- 5:25Speaker 1: gonna teach you a lot of stuff you need to know.
- 5:27Speaker 1: I said, what can I learn from a fool? He said,
- 5:30Speaker 1: for starters, what not to do and what not to say.
- 5:35Speaker 1: He said, that's that's valuable information. So failure for me
- 5:40Speaker 1: is a part of the process. Failure for me is
- 5:43Speaker 1: a gained experience. Failure for me is a lesson learned.
- 5:46Speaker 1: Failure for me is one step closer. So it's not
- 5:50Speaker 1: really failure, y'all. Just get up, keep going. That's what
- 5:54Speaker 1: I've always done. I thank God for that part that
- 5:57Speaker 1: He's instilled in me. I've learned not to wallow there,
- 6:01Speaker 1: lay in it because guess what, this too shall pass? Wow,
- 6:08Speaker 1: don't it always? God is good, y'all. He really is.
- 6:12Speaker 1: And God is available to you. He's available to anybody
- 6:16Speaker 1: who seeks him. If you call on him, he will answer.
- 6:22Speaker 1: If you seek him, he will appear. Stop thinking God
- 6:27Speaker 1: then walked away from you because he ate. God is
- 6:29Speaker 1: always available. Hey, listen, y'all talk to God. He would
- 6:36Speaker 1: absolutely love to hear from you. And it don't matter
- 6:39Speaker 1: if it's been a while. Y'all have a good one man,
