Transcript
- 0:00I'm Christina and I'm t and this is the Pretty and Pink Again podcast where motherhood meets rediscovery.
- 0:17Hey.
- 0:18Hi.
- 0:18How are you?
- 0:19I am good.
- 0:20I'm good.
- 0:20Good.
- 0:21We're pivoting a little this week.
- 0:23So Dr.
- 0:24Lambert was called to the or.
- 0:26Mm-hmm.
- 0:26So she, we is gonna reschedule with us for a few weeks from now.
- 0:29Yeah.
- 0:30We were really excited to have that hormone discussion.
- 0:32And honestly, when I posted that on my stories, I got, so did you get a lot of questions manys?
- 0:37Yes.
- 0:37I got so many questions.
- 0:38I do too.
- 0:39We're gonna pocket those and kind of file them away.
- 0:42We're trying to reschedule that.
- 0:44But we also got a lot of really great feedback about last week's episode.
- 0:48I was really happy to hear that.
- 0:50We're all in this together.
- 0:51We're all exhausted and tired.
- 0:53We're all tired, and there was a lot of great conversations that were stemming from that topic last week.
- 0:58So if you haven't listened to last week's episode, go listen to it.
- 1:02It's Why are we all so tired?
- 1:04I know Every time we talk about anything like that, walks that line of parenting.
- 1:09Mm-hmm.
- 1:09Mm-hmm.
- 1:10I get a little nervous'cause I'm like, oh, we have to stay in Arlene.
- 1:15I don't know.
- 1:15It's, oh, it's always very well received by our listeners.
- 1:18I know.
- 1:18I think everybody just feels like a sigh of relief to be like, I feel that too.
- 1:23I feel like whenever I'm listening to something and somebody's like deeply honest about how they're feeling about something, and it just comes across like raw and organic and real.
- 1:34You feel like a weight lifted off of you like that you're not the only one feeling that way.
- 1:38And so it seems like collectively.
- 1:41With the few episodes that we have opened up on that, even though we say we're not a parenting podcast, we are parents and that's a huge part of our identity.
- 1:49Right.
- 1:50And so we don't necessarily know how to fix all of those things'cause we're not parent experts.
- 1:54But I think just sometimes talking about those things is important and it makes people feel seen and heard, yes.
- 2:01That is a place for that.
- 2:02We're in our new little space today.
- 2:04Yes.
- 2:04We have new chairs, new podcasting chairs.
- 2:06I know, I new look, this is really nice.
- 2:08I know.
- 2:09I feel really good.
- 2:10I know.
- 2:10I like this.
- 2:10You can look on our Instagram clip, but.
- 2:13This is perfect.
- 2:14I love it.
- 2:14And when I've been watching our videos through, all I do is fidget in the big chair.
- 2:19I fidget, I snack, I curl my hair.
- 2:21I'm surprised, surprised I have anything left on my head.
- 2:24I like fidget.
- 2:25I like couldn't get comfy.
- 2:26Yeah, we were in like oversized big, were, it was sofa, sweeper sofa chairs and they were just too, almost like too comfy.
- 2:32So now we're in like a little bit more of a sleek.
- 2:35Yes, but these are surprisingly comfy.
- 2:37I feel very at home.
- 2:38They're great Costco.
- 2:38Yeah.
- 2:39Love'em.
- 2:39They're perfect.
- 2:39Love them.
- 2:40Perfect.
- 2:40I know.
- 2:40And I have my hair slicked back in a body.
- 2:42You do.
- 2:43I'm loving this.
- 2:43Look on you.
- 2:44I'm obsessed.
- 2:45My babysitter Sophia, who I love so much did my hair this morning'cause she's a gymnast.
- 2:49So she always did hair like that was like part of her thing.
- 2:53She was a gymnast, she was a dancer.
- 2:54She always had to do her hair.
- 2:56So when she comes over she does my daughter's hair.
- 2:58That's like their thing.
- 2:59She does their hair.
- 3:00Yeah.
- 3:00And today I said, Sophia, can you do my hair too?
- 3:03You look so, and she was like, oh my gosh, yes.
- 3:05So she did my hair in like the best slick back bun.
- 3:08I never see you with like a slick back anything.
- 3:10So this is I'm loving the slick back now.
- 3:11It's gonna be my new look.
- 3:12I was inspired by you because you were saying, oh, I'm doing air dried hair, I'm doing Kylie Jenner curls.
- 3:17I'm like, oh, I'm gonna try that too.
- 3:18Just, I don't know, a little less effort, a little less heat and damage on my hair.
- 3:22So she took, she actually used my husband's brush because I don't have a.
- 3:26Brush, I have a comb or you need like a very specific bristle brush.
- 3:30Bristle brush or something to kind of like slick it back.
- 3:32Yes.
- 3:33So that it really like stays against the head.
- 3:35Yes.
- 3:35So she did a little middle part.
- 3:37Mm-hmm.
- 3:37But only maybe it's only like two or three inches.
- 3:39It's two inches.
- 3:40Yep.
- 3:40And then slicked it back.
- 3:42And then she separated the ponytail into two pieces.
- 3:46Tie'em in a knot.
- 3:47So the bun looks full and sleek and I love it.
- 3:50You need to do a tutorial.
- 3:51You have a do a, I'm gonna to do a tutorial.
- 3:53It looks so good.
- 3:53It's so cute and very, I'm loving the vibe.
- 3:55Effortless.
- 3:56I love it.
- 3:56A nice, cute, neat bun.
- 3:59So what else, how else was, how was your week?
- 4:02How was the weekend?
- 4:02Everything has been good.
- 4:04It's, we're just still enjoying summer.
- 4:06It's crazy.
- 4:06It's like the end of July already, I'm like, how did we get here?
- 4:09I feel like every summer I say that, even though it's been really hot, there's this like weird chill that's, there's already a crisp in Yes.
- 4:17Morning crisp.
- 4:18It's like a crisp air.
- 4:19And I'm like, no.
- 4:21Like, how are we here already?
- 4:22It's like you just know like, I'm like.
- 4:25and we still have a good month left, but it's just it's looming.
- 4:28It's coming.
- 4:28The crisp is gone today.
- 4:29Did you go outside yet today?
- 4:30Hot today.
- 4:30It's hot in the middle of the day.
- 4:31Hot today.
- 4:32It's hot today.
- 4:32It's hot in the middle of the day.
- 4:33But the first thing you were saying was crisp.
- 4:34Yeah, like there's just, I don't know, there's something that just happens when you start to near August where everything just changes and it just, it's like you can feel it in the air, literally.
- 4:44Yeah.
- 4:44And it's feeling like it's there.
- 4:46Summer's wrapping up.
- 4:47It's gonna be over before we know it.
- 4:49It's there.
- 4:49Mm-hmm.
- 4:51It's been, It's been hard for us even here to get it.
- 4:55You just, everybody is just in the thick of it in the middle of the summer.
- 4:58There's so much going on.
- 4:59It's been hard for us to land our guests this summer.
- 5:01So it's just been me and you a lot this summer.
- 5:04I know.
- 5:04But it's been nice.
- 5:04But for fall, we have a ton of people lined up.
- 5:07Chat.
- 5:08Lots of people lined up starting back.
- 5:09Yeah.
- 5:10We're excited.
- 5:10I know.
- 5:11So we're pivoting a little bit today.
- 5:13Like we said, we're gonna table the perimenopause and hormone discussion, it'll be worth the wait and it'll be the wait.
- 5:18And I also think we'll be able to get a lot more out of her.
- 5:20We won't be on such a constricting timeline.
- 5:22I know we're excited for that one, but today we were a little bit inspired by some of the conversations that we were having based off of last week's episode.
- 5:30Mm-hmm.
- 5:31And I thought that this was like a really interesting topic because I've been feeling this and chatting about it with very close circle of mine, but.
- 5:40It's this burnout.
- 5:42And we can kind of look at that a bunch of different ways.
- 5:45I feel like we could definitely talk about mom burnout.
- 5:47Mm-hmm.
- 5:47And I feel like that's a lot of where last week's episode, like the conversations were stemming from just mom burnout, how to feel a little bit more organized, how to get out of that rut if you are feeling very burnt out.
- 5:59I feel like after.
- 6:01A crazy summer and everybody being off of their routine.
- 6:04It seems like a lot of people are feeling very burnt out.
- 6:07It's just probably because you're really like out of your element, right?
- 6:11You spend a lot of the time of the year.
- 6:13In a much more structured environment.
- 6:16And then the summer, it's just a free for all.
- 6:17And I think after a while people get a little tired of that, you know?
- 6:21Right.
- 6:21or you can look at it the opposite way.
- 6:23In the way I've been looking at it in the summertime, I feel like I have more time to reflect.
- 6:27Yes.
- 6:27I'm not so structured.
- 6:29I'm not so in it where I don't have the time to think.
- 6:32In the summer, I have more of this time to think and reflect am I enjoying this right.
- 6:37Because sometimes.
- 6:38I feel like I get burnt out when I'm not fully enjoying something.
- 6:42You're'cause you're going through the motions because you have to.
- 6:44But when you are, you actually take a second to say.
- 6:48Why am I doing this?
- 6:49Why does this make me feel fulfilled?
- 6:51Why does this not make me feel fulfilled?
- 6:53What is something that is a must, a have to, mm-hmm.
- 6:56a chore?
- 6:57What is something that's supposed to bring me income?
- 6:59What is something that's supposed to bring me happiness?
- 7:02What are all of these things?
- 7:03Why sometimes do you feel stuck in this?
- 7:06Burnout and lack of inspiration or all of those things that kind of funnel into one, yeah.
- 7:12When I heard you say the word burnout, for me it felt a little bit like the lack of routine just because of the summer and stuff.
- 7:19But then for me, I also felt this, wow, I am feeling very burnt out just in my kind of creative.
- 7:27Space, like my entire job is to be creative.
- 7:31I have, right now my main source of income is being an influencer and content creator.
- 7:37And then I also have this podcast.
- 7:39So I feel like a lot of the time I need to be on and creative and it's tiring to always have to be like that.
- 7:47You know what I mean?
- 7:48So I've definitely been feeling this burnout in all sense of my life because I feel a little bit of burnout with the kids and then I feel burnout in my career.
- 7:57And so I do feel just in general.
- 7:59And you're supposed to be doing your career at home?
- 8:01Yes.
- 8:03In a place that you are feeling burnout.
- 8:05Yes.
- 8:05That is a recipe for, it's for a hard time.
- 8:09It is.
- 8:10It's tough to be in that space, you know?
- 8:12We'll talk through a little bit of that today.
- 8:14So something that.
- 8:16Inspired me recently was that phrase, this too shall pass.
- 8:20I liked that.
- 8:21This too shall pass to me always meant if you're in a bad space, if you're feeling sick, if you're feeling unwell, if something is hard, this will pass.
- 8:30Mm-hmm.
- 8:30But also the good things will pass too.
- 8:33That's true.
- 8:34And sometimes that means good things come to an end also.
- 8:37Yep.
- 8:38So whether that's like a career that you're in, a good career that you're in, sometimes that has to come to an end.
- 8:43Whether that's like summer.
- 8:45Mm-hmm.
- 8:45Like The good, summer that needs to come to the good things.
- 8:48Sometimes good things come to an end too.
- 8:50And then you're left with this, rediscovery phase.
- 8:53You're left with a pivot.
- 8:55You're left with maybe feeling unsettled.
- 8:57You're left for what is the next phase?
- 9:00You're, you know, there's a lot.
- 9:01There's a lot there for interpretation of what comes next.
- 9:04This two shall pass reminds me of my mantra, which is this is temporary.
- 9:09Mm-hmm.
- 9:09And I recite that to myself.
- 9:11I had a little bit of a longer mantra, but I kind of shortened it to, this is temporary when I'm having a hard time or when I know that I'm in a tough phase, whether it's one of the kids is sick or I'm not getting a great night of sleep, or I'm stressed about something with work.
- 9:23I recite that to myself of this is temporary, this will pass.
- 9:27You know, like That's usually like the next line of my mantra.
- 9:30And so that kind of reminds me of that mantra, but I like that you're also saying it that the good times sometimes, and then that doesn't mean like it in a bad way.
- 9:38It just means that sometimes there's just seasons for things and you move through, right?
- 9:42I know.
- 9:42So what do you think causes you the biggest burnout right now?
- 9:46Right now, if you had to pick I think it's a mix of obviously being home with two little kids that I, like we talked about in last week's episode, that burnout just causes that, chronic fatigue.
- 9:56But I also think, like I said, it's just in the line of work that I do, it's, it's hard for me right now to.
- 10:04Feel creatively inspired.
- 10:07And sometimes what I end up doing is trying to rely on what I'm seeing around.
- 10:13'cause if I'm not feeling creatively inspired to start something, to maybe create something from scratch, then You look to Instagram, you look to what's going on on the internet, and you adapt these trends that are going on.
- 10:24And I'm not really feeling very connected to any of those either.
- 10:28And what happens is that then sometimes I just pull back, like if I'm not feeling good about something, I don't push, I pull back.
- 10:36So if I don't feel like it's organic, if I don't feel like it's the right fit, I pull back and end up doing nothing.
- 10:43Which doesn't help, or I kind of do the same thing over and over again, which also is not the best.
- 10:49You need to adapt in this world and move forward and always be doing new things and trying new things and so I feel a little bit stuck right now.
- 10:56Okay.
- 10:56So your lack of inspiration right now as actually maybe career-based it is because when you think of like things that.
- 11:03Help when you lack inspiration.
- 11:04That could be in many different like facets.
- 11:07Think of like a workout, if you're not feeling inspired to work out, and maybe you've tried it, but you're not seeing results or you're not losing weight.
- 11:13Right.
- 11:13Or you don't like the workout, or you don't like the routine, or you don't like going to the class or whatever.
- 11:17Then you'll just stop.
- 11:18Yep.
- 11:19If you're not loving the clothing trends that are out there right now and how things are fitting on your body.
- 11:25These are all places that I've maybe have feel less inspired.
- 11:28Yes.
- 11:29I've, I agree with all less inspired about clothing trends right now.
- 11:33I think, professionally when you're feeling not inspired, that kind of.
- 11:38It is like a punch in the gut.
- 11:39It's hard.
- 11:39Hard because it also is your income.
- 11:41Yes.
- 11:42It's hard and it's what funds your life.
- 11:44Yep, it is.
- 11:45And so I've definitely been feeling, I think the last year, so we talk about last summer all the time.
- 11:51It's like last summer.
- 11:52I know what you did last summer.
- 11:53Summer.
- 11:53Summer.
- 11:53Last summer.
- 11:54I know what you thought last summer.
- 11:55That's.
- 11:56Our little phrase to each other, because I know what you were feeling last summer.
- 12:00I know.
- 12:00You know what I was feeling last summer we talked about this, that we both just kind of came head, right?
- 12:04Like we were both having a very tough time in each of our lives for very different reasons.
- 12:10And we talked about both of us.
- 12:12Getting it off of our chest.
- 12:14But then we were like, we're gonna do something about this.
- 12:15Yes, we're gonna, what's next?
- 12:17Right?
- 12:17And we both had this fuel to progress past the woe is me, I'm not feeling great.
- 12:24It's like, what's the next chapter?
- 12:26And I think that this year has really been.
- 12:30A lot of reflection, which we've also talked about and rediscovery, right?
- 12:33And I think that sometimes when you're in that phase, it's hard because you feel like not a lot is happening, but really there is a lot happening.
- 12:41And for me, I took this year to get myself healthy again.
- 12:46I needed to focus on myself.
- 12:48I needed to focus on sleeping.
- 12:50I needed to focus on eating well because I was just in a really bad place.
- 12:54I wasn't sleeping, I wasn't taking care of my body in any way, shape or form.
- 12:58I wasn't taking care of my mind.
- 13:00I was really on autopilot in a lot of parts of my life.
- 13:03And so I feel like this last year, that was my goal was number one, get myself healthy.
- 13:09Mentally, physically, and emotionally, and I think that I could say check, check, check to all of those things, but at the same time, I also was like, where does that leave me?
- 13:19Then?
- 13:20Like creatively, career wise, I loved starting this podcast.
- 13:24I feel like it brought me back to the like OG blogger days of starting something from scratch and like learning something new and the collaborative aspect of it.
- 13:35And I just have loved it.
- 13:36It's filled my cup.
- 13:38So like I think beyond what I even thought it could, but.
- 13:43My other business, I feel a little bit stuck and I have no shame in admitting that I've been doing it for 15 years.
- 13:50Mm-hmm.
- 13:50And I think that if you do anything for a long period of time, you could get stuck from.
- 13:56The repetitiveness of things.
- 13:58In my case, I think it's because it's constant reinvention.
- 14:02It's like once you get going with something, everything changes so then you have to start again.
- 14:08And I think the people that have done it really well.
- 14:12There's many people that have done it really well, many influencers that have done it really well.
- 14:16But it's hard and I'm sure that there's a lot of hardships on the other side that maybe people don't show you, you know?
- 14:23Right.
- 14:23but you're saying what you've been enjoying consuming lately.
- 14:27And not even as a content creator, but as a consumer are people that are experts.
- 14:31Yes.
- 14:31Like doctors.
- 14:33Yes.
- 14:33Like actually one of the doctors in Nick's group is doing this.
- 14:36Mm-hmm.
- 14:36And he.
- 14:37Like people that are experts in fields that are like stylists, like maybe that are, maybe they are not even doing the content creation themselves.
- 14:44Maybe they're hiring somebody to do the content creation.
- 14:47Yes.
- 14:47But they're the main character.
- 14:49They're the product.
- 14:49Yes.
- 14:50And that is seems to be doing very well right now.
- 14:53I like that because I like consuming content.
- 14:54That's a great point, and I'm glad that you brought that up because I have, I've sent you things and I've said that out loud before that I.
- 15:01Always enjoy people who are quote unquote experts.
- 15:04And I know sometimes we shade that, where we're like, what?
- 15:06Are you even an expert?
- 15:07Or is this just content?
- 15:08But I think there are a lot of people on social media that are indeed experts at things, whether they're a stylist I'm trying to think in terms of like things that would relate to me.
- 15:18Whether you're a stylist or maybe you're a makeup artist or something, but like you have something else, you have a trade, you have a trade.
- 15:25Besides, you have a license being an influencer, right?
- 15:28Because for some reason I take that just a little bit more seriously.
- 15:33And so I You have a trade in marketing and media?
- 15:36I do.
- 15:37And digital media?
- 15:37I do.
- 15:38You had a profession doing this.
- 15:39I did.
- 15:40I worked.
- 15:40You, You might be one of the content creators that really does take that as a badge of honor in a career.
- 15:45Because you did do this I did it for my job before job for myself, right?
- 15:50Correct.
- 15:50So I feel very like.
- 15:52Okay.
- 15:53Invested in this space and but Christina, you are so good at that space.
- 15:57Like sometimes I like to just throw things up because I'm like, you do, but it needs to just be done.
- 16:02Yeah, it needs to just be done.
- 16:03It needs to be done today.
- 16:04And you're like, no, it's off center.
- 16:06It needs to have this marking on it.
- 16:08It needs to have these words, if you throw it up.
- 16:10People are gonna scroll right by it.
- 16:12I love, it's gonna look like trash.
- 16:13I do, I love branding.
- 16:14'cause you know how to brand.
- 16:17Even with this podcast, like you knew we needed to have a concept, a visual, like a mission statement.
- 16:22A mission statement.
- 16:23I'm saying like the, those are all skills that not everybody has.
- 16:28Thank you for saying that.
- 16:29You know, And I think your skill is that sometimes I have to remove some of that because I can get too hung up on the everything being perfect.
- 16:37And you always said to me that, and we've said this on the podcast before, done this.
- 16:42Yes.
- 16:43You've said that things need a heartbeat, right?
- 16:46Yeah.
- 16:46So I think the combination of us like together it works and like it works in this business as well and I'm so grateful for it.
- 16:53I think that this has just really allowed me to open my eyes a little bit to be like a.
- 16:58Maybe like what else is out there?
- 17:00Like, I love this so much.
- 17:02Yeah.
- 17:02The heartbeat for your other profession, you're just reevaluating it.
- 17:06Yeah.
- 17:06Like I you're doing a pulse check right now is that pulse still there?
- 17:09Does it need to be revived?
- 17:10It's right now.
- 17:11Does it need to be revived?
- 17:12It's feeling faint right now.
- 17:13Do you need to pivot?
- 17:14Yes.
- 17:14And try something new with it.
- 17:16I know, I've been telling you forever that I think you should do content creation for other people.
- 17:20So many people that have trades that have a talent mm-hmm.
- 17:23but they don't know how to like, use it, put it together and use it and share it.
- 17:27Yes.
- 17:27I think that, I've just realized, I think that podcast has helped me realize that there's so much more.
- 17:34To me than just me.
- 17:36I feel like my business has been all about me.
- 17:39Like my Christina Reishi, which used to be Oso Glam blog, you know, which was a blog at one point that I don't upkeep anymore.
- 17:46But all of that was about me.
- 17:48It was my narrative, it was my story, it was my things that I wanted to share.
- 17:53And with this podcast, it was.
- 17:56Obviously us and our experiences, but it's allowing other people to come in and share their experiences.
- 18:02It's connecting with our audience.
- 18:04Yeah.
- 18:04Less in a deeper way than it's about, than ever about.
- 18:06It's less about us.
- 18:07There's a lot of question asking when you ask a question to somebody else.
- 18:10Yes.
- 18:11Usually have to ask the question yourself.
- 18:12Yeah.
- 18:13You sometimes you don't know the answer.
- 18:14Yeah.
- 18:15Then you have to find out what the answer is.
- 18:16It's a lot of growth.
- 18:17Yeah.
- 18:18It's a lot of learning.
- 18:19And it's very inspiring work.
- 18:21It is.
- 18:21So when you are doing something that's inspiring, sometimes it points out other things in your life, right?
- 18:27It does.
- 18:27That are not inspiring.
- 18:29I think that's actually probably what this did.
- 18:31And I think I'm using that as a good thing.
- 18:33Like I think that this is pushing me.
- 18:36For more.
- 18:36And it's maybe not more me, it's maybe more something else.
- 18:40And so that's just where I've been.
- 18:42And I feel comfortable saying that because I don't know what that looks like, but I know that it's what I want.
- 18:48And I know I'm not sure what that, what that even means.
- 18:51But I think that this podcast is all about being honest and lifting the veil and not lying to myself.
- 18:57Mm-hmm.
- 18:58And not trying to put up a facade for any reason.
- 19:00And so that's just where I've been feeling.
- 19:02So stay tuned.
- 19:03I don't know what that even means yet.
- 19:05I have things that I've been thinking of and, but you put it out there.
- 19:08Yeah.
- 19:08And.
- 19:09It's funny, I think I recognized it first.
- 19:10First.
- 19:11It's funny how the world works sometimes when you put something out there big or small.
- 19:15You don't know what that's gonna, you know it.
- 19:18I think sometimes just admitting that to yourself.
- 19:20So if you're stuck at a job, if you feel, you're stuck in something.
- 19:24Sometimes it's just number one, saying it out loud, saying it to a friend, saying it to a family member I'm not happy at this.
- 19:30Or, I don't feel fulfilled any longer.
- 19:34What does that mean?
- 19:35For moving forward.
- 19:36So I'm just like playing around with that.
- 19:38I don't think that I'll ever give up anything.
- 19:41I think that there's like room in my life for a lot of things, but I think that there's just like next steps of okay, what else?
- 19:47Then what else can we bring into the mix?
- 19:49Like.
- 19:50Let's bring something else that fulfills me a little bit more.
- 19:53Mm-hmm.
- 19:54I also think sometimes when you get out of your routine, that sort of creatively inspires you, right?
- 19:59So sometimes when you travel, like you just said this mm-hmm.
- 20:02last week, with your beating, you say when I'm not feeling creative, I can't create.
- 20:06So sometimes when it.
- 20:07It takes you a second to jolt and be like, oh, if I travel somewhere, if I do something and it sparks some creative energy, sometimes you just need to get outta your right or you have to be out of the house.
- 20:17Yes.
- 20:18Like Igniting your senses?
- 20:20Yes.
- 20:20In the bead store, like you feel the weight of the beads.
- 20:23You smell things you talk to somebody, somebody tells you how to do it.
- 20:27Actually, like the owner of the store when I was there showed me this like new technique that she did this like not technique like I could and then wanna try it.
- 20:33I could technically do all of that behind my computer.
- 20:37I could order beads online.
- 20:38I could watch a YouTube video and see how to do it.
- 20:41None of that is as inspiring or invigorating as when you're out there in the open.
- 20:45So it's so true.
- 20:46And I do, I think when you put things out there, things come back.
- 20:50I actually have a whole bunch of orders I have to fulfill today.
- 20:52Good for you.
- 20:52But just it's all good things and sometimes lack of inspiration.
- 20:56Will, you know, recognizing that will help lead to more To new things.
- 21:01To new things, yeah.
- 21:02To more.
- 21:02I wanted to tell you, so yesterday I went to that career fair at Westminster.
- 21:06I know.
- 21:06And so my friend Katie.
- 21:09Works at Westminster.
- 21:10And how I met her was again, like things just work out in weird ways.
- 21:15So I had met her a few years ago at the polo grounds when I was actually there for an event for the Phillies Night out selling jewelry, and she bought jewelry from me.
- 21:23And then last summer I met her at Fox 61 News because OAH Strides was nominated for the Connecticut Impact Awards for a business category.
- 21:33There were six categories and Katie was working at Covenant Prep.
- 21:37And their school was nominated for a Connecticut Impact Award.
- 21:41So both of us ended up being finalists, so we re-met there.
- 21:46So anyways, we've become friends and a lot of stuff that Strides does, there's like a lot of overlap with her job, it's been great.
- 21:54We've been able to collaborate, et cetera.
- 21:56So she was running a career fair.
- 21:58Now she works at Westminster and asked me to come and I laughed at first.
- 22:02I'm like, Nick, what am I gonna be presenting?
- 22:04I'm in a room with a vascular surgeon.
- 22:06Mm-hmm.
- 22:07And I'm in the room with a guy from Fox 61 News, i'm an imposter.
- 22:10I'm gonna be talking about podcasting and that's like a little bit of that like self-doubt and imposter syndrome that I have.
- 22:16What am I even good at?
- 22:18What am I even like important, I'm sure everyone feels that sense shouldn't bullshit that I feed myself I went to the event yesterday and my table was full all morning because this is actually a job and something that kids are interested in.
- 22:32Yes, of course.
- 22:33And I was so excited to share my expertise and our knowledge and how we do it and how anybody can do this.
- 22:39Mm-hmm.
- 22:40And how, if you have an idea.
- 22:41Yep.
- 22:42And you had said this too, if you can be an expert in something, then you can share it.
- 22:46It's so true.
- 22:47But it was just, it was very cool to talk to the youth to be able to inspire them.
- 22:52But what then ended up happening was is I was inspired by them.
- 22:56And their eagerness to learn, and then they were asking me like, what did you go to school for?
- 23:01I'm like, I went to Quinnipiac.
- 23:02My bachelor's is in biology.
- 23:04Like you can pivot, you can change, you can grow, you can learn, you can try new things.
- 23:10It goes back to that message that we always say sometimes it's just like recognizing and like it's okay to pivot.
- 23:16It's okay to want something different.
- 23:18It's okay to want.
- 23:19Maybe more of something or less of something, right?
- 23:22And it's all about that rediscovery.
- 23:23But if you don't have the space to give yourself permission to even let those thoughts in your head, then you won't get anywhere.
- 23:32And sometimes it's just like that breakthrough moment.
- 23:34I think for us, it was both of us last summer of like, we're not gonna live like this anymore.
- 23:39What else do we need?
- 23:40What else do we want?
- 23:41What could we do?
- 23:42And this helped so much of that.
- 23:45So I want.
- 23:46The message, like if you are feeling burnt out in any way, I think that sometimes like just trying to really like look within and be like, what lights you up and how can I do more of that, and start there.
- 24:01But then if there is, I hear from people all the time, like I've been, a content creator for 15 years.
- 24:07The amount of girls, women who reach out to me and ask me, like, how do I start?
- 24:12It's like you just start.
- 24:13You just, there is no.
- 24:15How to you just start sharing.
- 24:18Everyone has a phone, everyone has, we're using our phone to record this.
- 24:21We grabbed some a quick My daughters have been doing Get Readys with me.
- 24:24Yes.
- 24:25Because they, have you been seeing Mila's?
- 24:26Yes, of course I get Readys with me.
- 24:27Yes.
- 24:28This is from Target.
- 24:29This is from where like you can everywhere.
- 24:32You funny it and even for us, I have also gotten the question about how do you start a podcast and you just do, like you have to just start it.
- 24:40We can obviously walk anybody through the steps of starting a podcast, but like you have to just want it and do it, and I think that's.
- 24:49I guess I'll like to reflect a little bit, I guess I've done that a couple of points in my life and I have step back and really be proud of that, of putting myself out there, not once, but twice, you know, in two different kind of avenues.
- 25:01And you've done it now too, and it's amazing.
- 25:04It really is.
- 25:05It's fulfilling in a certain way, but.
- 25:09It's just an interesting kind of thought.
- 25:11So with your burnout, you think that the first step for you though was the wellness.
- 25:16The wellness.
- 25:17I think it depe.
- 25:18I think that will depend on where anybody is at in their life.
- 25:21But for me, I was feeling a ton of burnout for very different reasons last year.
- 25:26And yes, for me it was getting myself healthy.
- 25:30So sometimes it's not always a fix or what's next.
- 25:33Sometimes you have to sit in it.
- 25:35You have to stop and stop.
- 25:36Maybe you have to stop, put something back into yourself first.
- 25:39Yes.
- 25:39Before you maybe see like a different outcome or have another output or something like.
- 25:44Like that for sure.
- 25:45I think it's putting one foot in front of the other.
- 25:47I remember last year, we've talked about this in bits and pieces, but I remember last year I knew that I was not in a great place.
- 25:55I feel like if you saw me, you knew I was not in a great place, but I needed therapy.
- 26:01I needed somebody to talk to, like a professional.
- 26:03And I remember feeling how.
- 26:07Daunting that felt of a task I had to go get a therapist and sometimes.
- 26:11Things seem so simple and they're just not, you know, it's like when you're just in a low place, anything feels like simple things are hard and you're not feeling great.
- 26:19Yes.
- 26:19Simple things are so hard.
- 26:20Yeah.
- 26:20But you just have to take one bit at a time.
- 26:23And I've talked to some of my girlfriends about this and you need to open up to people, I think, and you need to get a little circle around you that can kind of like cheer you on, open up to your friends, to your family, have people.
- 26:37Feel that can kind of be a little bit accountable for you, to cheer you on or maybe help you out a little bit.
- 26:42And then I think it's just one foot in front of the other.
- 26:44And I think that when you get to a place of clearing and you feel at peace, right?
- 26:50Like with whatever is going on, then I think is the time to like look for more if more is what you're kind of desiring, right?
- 26:58Yeah.
- 26:58But I think you need to get yourself to a good baseline and be in a very clear head.
- 27:03Wow.
- 27:03And I think that's what the last year for me has been.
- 27:06That's amazing.
- 27:07That's amazing that you were able to do that.
- 27:09How you feel.
- 27:09How do you feel like about how do you feel about thanks for asking.
- 27:12I don't always get asked that.
- 27:13Like I know.
- 27:14Always feel I know.
- 27:15How are you doing?
- 27:16Actually?
- 27:16Thanks for asking.
- 27:18Yeah, no, so I feel better.
- 27:21I feel better mentally.
- 27:22I was feeling very like sick and unwell, and I feel better in that sense.
- 27:27I feel more fulfilled.
- 27:28I feel like.
- 27:30I was adding a lot before, but I wasn't adding things like maybe in the right order or maybe all that I liked, or I just feel like I was so scattered and so everywhere, so I like you or maybe not like you.
- 27:43I cleared the plate and I became a little reclusive last summer, but I think I needed that in order to, before I could add things back in.
- 27:50Yeah, so it's similar.
- 27:51Yeah, similar.
- 27:52And then.
- 27:55I started this podcast with you in January and I think it's changed my life because it brought back that like work flame and fire, like this organization, the deadlines, the things like that.
- 28:06Like I didn't realize that I was craving and that I need it.
- 28:09Yeah, and I love it and I don't necessarily.
- 28:13I didn't think I needed to say like I had a job, but I guess something, I guess I did need to tell myself like, you do have some other purpose.
- 28:21You do have some knowledge, like you are good at certain things.
- 28:25You, I guess I did need that you did for, you probably didn't even realize it and I didn't realize I, I'm probably so busy.
- 28:32With the kids and with like life outside yourself that you didn't even realize what you needed.
- 28:37Yeah.
- 28:38But again, I often, I minimize my, like my background, but I do have expertise in some things you do.
- 28:45I don't have expertise in a lot, but one thing that I do excel in is asking questions and connecting with people.
- 28:50You are such a natural host, so I feel like this has just been, but even just finding people.
- 28:57In the universe that wanna also come in and talk and share.
- 29:00I know he does a ton of the prep work behind the scenes where you're like finding the guests and finding the topics and we have really good guests coming up.
- 29:08Yeah.
- 29:08We're so excited about that.
- 29:09The a h ADHD specialists.
- 29:10I know.
- 29:11I'm just saying we have these natural conversations and anyway I'm feeling much better.
- 29:16Okay.
- 29:16And I know a lot of this.
- 29:18I know a lot of that is from this.
- 29:20Some of it was the wellness journey, some of it was from therapy and medication.
- 29:24Some of it was just me having to accept that this is a time in my life, right?
- 29:30Like some of a lot of it is also accepting, lowering your standards and accepting that you don't like something.
- 29:37I totally agree with that, yeah.
- 29:38Like yesterday I was driving in the car with the kid just from here to Farmington, to the kid's baseball game, and I was sitting in the backseat.
- 29:46My one son was playing in a game and he gets car sick.
- 29:48So I was like, fine, you can have my seat so you're not sick for the game.
- 29:51And I got there the last 15 minutes were miserable.
- 29:55It was absolutely freaking miserable.
- 29:57How do you kids sit in the backseat of that car?
- 29:59No wonder you scream every time we're in the car together.
- 30:03A little taste of it.
- 30:04I'm just saying not every moment is gonna be, of course not so grand.
- 30:07But I think I'm feeling better because I've accepted the environment that I'm in.
- 30:13I wanted to tell you last week when you came over with the kids.
- 30:15Mm-hmm.
- 30:16It is so fun to have little kids here.
- 30:18Oh, it is so fun.
- 30:20And I know it's hard for you, obviously, because they're your little children.
- 30:24I know.
- 30:24And I was there and I like forgot.
- 30:26Yeah.
- 30:26Like that.
- 30:28I have a, I have a pool and you have two non-swimmers, but they are so fun.
- 30:33I know.
- 30:33And so freaking cute.
- 30:34Well, You are just so good.
- 30:35You could, I just love that.
- 30:36Could just tell, you could just tell with t that she's just like such a mom at her core because it just comes like you.
- 30:43You don't even have to like.
- 30:44Flip a switch, like you just like instantly become anybody's mom.
- 30:48They're just so cute.
- 30:49I just love them all so much.
- 30:50We have to tell the story because I shared it, my girl.
- 30:54I shared it on my, I shared it on my I'm up laughing because it was so funny.
- 30:58I shared it on my Instagram and I was like, I hate to throw you under the bus, but.
- 31:03I forget if it was last week or the week before, but one of her, no, it was our summer our summer series where we shared like a bunch of hacks that are working for us and tease claim to fame, which honestly was such a good tip and I did get a lot of great feedback about that.
- 31:17Yeah.
- 31:17Is that work a grill?
- 31:19Learn how to work a grill Moms like, so that you get to go outside and get the moment of peace.
- 31:24That, the guys usually do'cause they're sit sitting out there, you know, watching steak cook and you're inside with the kids screaming and so it's do a little switcheroo there.
- 31:34And people loved that hack.
- 31:35I think that's great, except when we came over, we invaded tea's house, my whole family, and there's so much going on because.
- 31:43Six kids between us all.
- 31:45Yeah.
- 31:45And there's, like you said, there's a pool and Gino was here, your sister-in-law, and we're all trying to eat and feed everybody.
- 31:52And there was a lot going on, so I was distracted.
- 31:54Exactly.
- 31:55Couple of glasses of rose and, and Tea Man's the grill, right?
- 31:59She, I'm like, oh, here she is.
- 32:00Here she, she's gonna, she's gonna show us all.
- 32:03I'm like, ready?
- 32:03I got my phone, I'm like, ready to go.
- 32:05I'm like, here she is.
- 32:07Live, right?
- 32:07Like live action.
- 32:08Oh yeah, live fire.
- 32:09Live action.
- 32:10The grill proceeds to light on fire.
- 32:13I think it may have been.
- 32:14It was the corn.
- 32:15It was the corn that, because I threw the corn in the hust.
- 32:18In the hus on the grill.
- 32:19I know.
- 32:19But like I've done that before too.
- 32:21And I don't know, it was just, it was And your didn't light on fire?
- 32:23I don't think it did, but I maybe, I don't know.
- 32:26But you, I don't know.
- 32:27Am I supposed to put the corn on the top?
- 32:29'cause I put it right on the flame.
- 32:30I didn't think it was gonna catch on fire.
- 32:32I don't know.
- 32:32We need to Google that.
- 32:33I don't, I have no idea what you're supposed to do, but I.
- 32:36As this is happening, tee's like manning the grill.
- 32:39My daughter Layla's coming over with a pretend vacuum.
- 32:41Oh.
- 32:41She's like vacuuming the area that tees like under her feet.
- 32:45I'm like, Layla, get out of the way.
- 32:46There's a grill.
- 32:47Like all of a sudden the grill lights, fire lights on fire.
- 32:49Literally like a movie, like goes, what do I do in flames?
- 32:53Nick, switch with me.
- 32:57You were like, go was in the pool with my kids who were fighting and screaming and yelling.
- 33:01Yeah.
- 33:01And I was like, I'd rather put up this fire than that fire.
- 33:04Say that.
- 33:05Famous last words.
- 33:06Animals loved it.
- 33:07I was like, that is the best thing I ever heard.
- 33:09Say, Nick, come and put out the fire you.
- 33:11The food was okay.
- 33:12It was still fine.
- 33:13The burgers were the best burgers I've ever had.
- 33:16I know we had delicious burgers.
- 33:17We had just a really nice summer night.
- 33:19I like that.
- 33:19We get a couple of those every summer where we just have like our families together.
- 33:23We had, it's very sweet.
- 33:24Yep.
- 33:24I, the kids are, the kids always leave so happy when they leave from here and they always have such a good time, but it was.
- 33:31So funny.
- 33:31Yeah.
- 33:32I was like, this could not have been more perfect.
- 33:35And I happened.
- 33:36I got it.
- 33:36You documented it?
- 33:37Yeah, I documented it.
- 33:38I was like, yep.
- 33:39And the grill is on fire and here we are.
- 33:41And listen, I didn't claim to be an expert.
- 33:44You did it.
- 33:44You just said learn how to do it.
- 33:45You didn't how to do an expert.
- 33:47I need to learn how to do it too.
- 33:49Or maybe I need to learn how to clean my grill.
- 33:51Yeah.
- 33:52But I was over at Jessica's, our neighbors, the other.
- 33:55Just the other day, just like chatting with her and she was like, Ooh, I have the grill on.
- 33:59I'm gonna grill.
- 33:59I'm like, good for you.
- 34:01But I didn't realize she was referencing because she listened to the podcast.
- 34:05Yeah.
- 34:05So she was basically trying to tell me like, oh, I'm taking your advice.
- 34:10I didn't, it like went over my head.
- 34:11I know, but I said it.
- 34:13Are like women gonna be like, like everybody's gonna be manning the grill and like lighting their girls on fire.
- 34:19Okay.
- 34:19If you have corn ladies, ladies, like start easy if you're not a pro at the grill like I am, not like I've grilled very few things, but, oh my gosh.
- 34:29Actually I think it might be my girl because my girlfriend's husband was here one day and he lit it on fire once too.
- 34:35So maybe it needs to be cleaned.
- 34:39Oh, so okay, guys closing out already.
- 34:42I know already.
- 34:44All right.
- 34:44Do you have a pink spotlight or do you need a minute?
- 34:46No, I need a minute.
- 34:47Alright, I'll give you mine.
- 34:48Okay.
- 34:49So I've been playing tennis with my son, Joseph every night.
- 34:52It's so fun.
- 34:52We've been going over and playing singles.
- 34:55The other night.
- 34:55We played doubles and we've been playing every night.
- 34:58I love that.
- 34:58Like every single night.
- 34:59It's so much fun.
- 35:00Oh, I love that.
- 35:01He loves that with you.
- 35:02It, like represents a lot of different things.
- 35:05Your kids eventually become like you actually end up doing stuff with them.
- 35:10Oh, like this is something that I'm not just like teaching him to do and move over, stand here.
- 35:15I had to do a lot of that to get to play with him and it's so much fun.
- 35:20Now you guys are like doing like a hobby together that you both like a hobby.
- 35:23It's not like.
- 35:24Thing.
- 35:25So today he, that's so nice Today he had tennis lessons and he ended up canceling,'cause he has tennis elbow and he wanted to rest it.
- 35:31So I was like let's go.
- 35:32Come for a walk with me.
- 35:33Come for a walk with me.
- 35:34And so I made him put in Airbus and listen to music.
- 35:37I love it.
- 35:37And we like went for a walk.
- 35:38You guys are just like spending a lot of quality time together, which is just nice.
- 35:41It's not a lot of time if you think about it.
- 35:44It's good quality time.
- 35:45It's a good quality thing.
- 35:46Like it's fun to do something with your kid when you like connect with them on it.
- 35:49Yeah.
- 35:50It doesn't need to be.
- 35:51Hours of shared space.
- 35:52It's an hour of tennis or like a walk.
- 35:55I love that.
- 35:55That's so nice.
- 35:55That is my pink spotlight playing.
- 35:57I know.
- 35:57Doubles with my little buddy.
- 35:58I love that.
- 35:59That's your oldest?
- 36:00Yeah, that's my oldest.
- 36:01It's so much fun and he's getting to be such a terrific, I know tennis player's so cute.
- 36:05I know he's teaching kids too.
- 36:07Yeah, he is.
- 36:08Yeah, he has his last day tomorrow.
- 36:10So anyways, love that.
- 36:11That's my spotlight for the week.
- 36:13Oh my God, he got so big.
- 36:14It just, he's like a reminder of like how time really goes by very fast.
- 36:19And that's like why they say time is very fleeting and sometimes that comes across very annoying, especially when you're in like a tough phase of motherhood or just in general, you know, you're like, wow, it does go by really fast.
- 36:31But even since when I've known him, it's like he was a baby.
- 36:35He was a baby.
- 36:36And so it's, it is just.
- 36:38Crazy.
- 36:38Like when you start to see them like literally growing up, like literally growing up.
- 36:44Yeah.
- 36:44It's just a really.
- 36:46Weird but amazing feeling.
- 36:48Yeah.
- 36:48But this is fun.
- 36:49Yeah.
- 36:50I'm not wishing, I'm not wishing the time away.
- 36:52I am not like hoping to rewind back like I'm just, for him in particular, I like this.
- 36:57Oh, this side.
- 36:58'cause he's still, I love that like a baby.
- 37:00But he can, he's like almost as tall as I am.
- 37:02I know he is wear the same shoe size and I know he can play tennis, which is oh, I love it.
- 37:06Which is so cute.
- 37:07That's a really nice thing.
- 37:08So we had a lot of quality time together this week.
- 37:10Love.
- 37:10They were all home.
- 37:11I went in the pool, I got my hair wet.
- 37:13Good for you.
- 37:14I saw that.
- 37:15I've been seeing this reel and I'm like, I need to get on this, but it's be the mom that gets your hair wet.
- 37:21Have you seen this one?
- 37:22No, I haven't.
- 37:23I like that statement because first of all, I'm a girl that never gets my hair wet, and it's because I, it's usually absolutely loath drying my hair.
- 37:30So if I have dried hair.
- 37:33I hate getting it wet.
- 37:34Right.
- 37:34I'll do it.
- 37:34If you've done it, you don't wanna ruin it.
- 37:36Yes, exactly.
- 37:36And I will be like strategic about getting my hair wet.
- 37:39Like I'll do it on a day that I need to wash my hair.
- 37:42And I'm like, okay.
- 37:43Like great, this is a great day to get my hair wet, but like you will not find me with a fresh blowout or like freshly washed hair, even close to getting my hair wet because I'm not doing it again.
- 37:53But I guess for the sake of the kids, I have to.
- 37:56Learn to be a little bit more fun.
- 37:58It lit them up.
- 37:59My sister and I both did it'cause my sister's kids were over here on Monday and then my brother-in-law was here'cause he's off on Monday.
- 38:05It was like a Saturday, but it was a Monday.
- 38:07And the kids were having a cannonball contest and my niece was like, auntie, you do one.
- 38:12That was all I needed to to hear.
- 38:14And you did.
- 38:14And I was like, how can I say no to her?
- 38:16I know, oh, that's really fun.
- 38:17I'm just gonna do it.
- 38:18So then I did it that my sister did it.
- 38:19I love that.
- 38:20And we had a wet hair day.
- 38:21Okay, you know what?
- 38:21Mine, actually, I'll just piggyback off that statement that I'm gonna try to be the mom that gets my hair wet because I'm usually not, but I feel like it is fun.
- 38:33Okay.
- 38:33So mine, I, I teased a little bit of this a few weeks ago, but just my obsession with Quince mm-hmm.
- 38:39right now.
- 38:40So I feel like since becoming a mom too, I have like extremes with things.
- 38:45Like I'll either be like an Amazon girly or like a target girly, where I'll get something, fairly inexpensive, if I don't wanna like spend a lot of money on it.
- 38:54Or I go the other extreme where I'm buying something for thousands of dollars and babying it, right?
- 39:01And I feel like since becoming a mom, I've really invested in more totes like, so, like bigger bags that I can fit a lot of things in and like use as a diaper bag or like use as just like the catchall for the kids stuff and like to make sure I have all that stuff.
- 39:15So I feel like my totes have gotten like a ton of use, like my expensive totes.
- 39:19Mm-hmm.
- 39:20But I don't really have like anything in between and I, you guys know I've been on the quince ba bandwagon.
- 39:26Mm-hmm.
- 39:26I've talked about how I did my capsule wardrobe for both spring and summer.
- 39:29Mm-hmm.
- 39:30Through them.
- 39:30I'm gonna do another one for fall'cause I just love their pieces, but do not sleep on their bags.
- 39:35They are a a hundred percent Italian leather.
- 39:38Most of them.
- 39:39And I found two this summer that I am obsessed with and like they have become my everyday bag and.
- 39:46One of them has become my everyday bag and one of them has been like my going out if we're going to dinner.
- 39:50Mm-hmm.
- 39:51Or if we have an event or something like, is that the ivory woven one?
- 39:53Yes, I want that one.
- 39:55I have an, I get it Ivy.
- 39:56It looks like the Bottega clutch, but it's woven and it's beautiful.
- 40:00It's like an ivory.
- 40:01It's so soft.
- 40:02But it's also not a knockoff.
- 40:03It's not, no, it's not a knock.
- 40:05It's inspired by, but I love that it's.
- 40:08Woven and like it, when you touch it, it it's mushy.
- 40:10It's mushy.
- 40:11Like it doesn't, it's not plasticy.
- 40:13You're not gonna hear it like crinkle.
- 40:15You're not gonna hear it like plasticy it won't scratch like it won't do.
- 40:18I feel like the cheapy stuff sometimes it works, but even the expensive stuff, scratches like lamb skin, Chanel.
- 40:24Yeah, like shit, scratch it.
- 40:26It does.
- 40:26Who wants to take that out?
- 40:27Know it.
- 40:27So this is, so then you end up, like to your point before you end up babying it, you baby it, I don it away.
- 40:32And especially when I'm doing stuff like.
- 40:34With the kids.
- 40:35Like I have a few like nice bags, but I save those more for like special occasions.
- 40:39If we're going to an event or if Raja and I are on vacation, I tend to take that stuff.
- 40:43But when I'm doing stuff like with the kids, I just don't have that stuff around you.
- 40:48Or you like go to a cute dinner with your kids.
- 40:50Do you wanna wanna with your kids if you want, if you're going somewhere nice.
- 40:53With your kids and you wanna throw that bag in the big bag.
- 40:56Yes.
- 40:56It's nice to have an in-between.
- 40:58So Quince has just absolutely beautiful pieces.
- 41:01The other one that I got was this like tote sling bag.
- 41:04And it's like a perfect, it has two handles on it, so one of them is short, so you can like literally throw it over your arm, like over your shoulder.
- 41:11And then one of them is long, so you could wear it as a cross body.
- 41:14And the size that I got is.
- 41:16Small, but it's not, it fits like everything that you need, like all the essentials.
- 41:21That sounds good for travel because when you travel you need like passport wallet, like this would fit all of it, all the essentials.
- 41:26And if you only have one bag on, you can quickly put it in The big bag to go through that is, it's a perfect travel bag.
- 41:31It's like just, and it's just a perfect, it like hugs to your body when you're have it cross body, it fits right under your arm, so it's not bulky.
- 41:40Obsessed with it, and I love it.
- 41:41It's a beautiful like toy color, so I feel like it works all year round.
- 41:45All seasons.
- 41:46And then the hardware is gold.
- 41:47It's like chunky gold.
- 41:48It's not chinsy, it's not gonna scratch.
- 41:51The quality's just amazing.
- 41:52And the price point, both of those bags were like under one 50, so they're like not.
- 41:57Extremely expensive, but they're not super cheap.
- 42:00So I feel like it's just like a nice midpoint.
- 42:02Yeah, and I have been asked about both of those bags.
- 42:05People have stopped and asked me like out and about, so I'm like, and I'm like, oh, they're from Quince.
- 42:11You know, Like I feel like, I'm like, do you have it?
- 42:13I don't have it with me.
- 42:14'cause I have my tote.
- 42:14Of course, when I'm bringing a lot of stuff, I don't have it, but I will share.
- 42:18It on the Pippa page, but I've posted a few reels about it.
- 42:21But I just feel like, again, it goes back to that like quality over quantity, and I'm just feeling like that in every aspect of my life.
- 42:29Like it's, I love the, find all about quality friendships.
- 42:32Quality foods.
- 42:33Yep.
- 42:33Exactly.
- 42:34Quality time.
- 42:34Quality time quality, everything.
- 42:36Exactly.
- 42:37Like I just think that's, it's just so nice and I just, I love that price point.
- 42:40I know people were going like bananas over it when I was posting it.
- 42:44And because it's just, I, the it, the quality is just great and it just makes me feel good to have something like nice, but that's not crazy expensive.
- 42:52It's just like nice.
- 42:53It doesn't have a label, nothing like that.
- 42:54It's just.
- 42:56It's just a good find.
- 42:57I know this is like off topic, but I have lots of bags obviously that have labels.
- 43:01I've been less and less inclined to buy them lately.
- 43:04Yeah.
- 43:04I feel like it's just that like less is more like, and it's funny'cause in the summer I feel very, very, less is more I don't know why, it's just, I feel like because you're just like, whatever.
- 43:14Like it just feels good.
- 43:15Just be, it's the vibe.
- 43:16It's the vibe.
- 43:17Vibe.
- 43:17In the winter though, like when it's the holiday season, I'm like.
- 43:21More is more.
- 43:21Right?
- 43:22Give me the sparkles.
- 43:23Give me like all the layers.
- 43:24The fur Leo, the fur, Leo the, yep.
- 43:27Gimme all of that.
- 43:28Give me the labels.
- 43:29Then I just feel like when you're just in the winter and you just like need, you're like grasping for like anything to make you feel good and like glam.
- 43:35But I know, but sometimes in the sun simmer, I feel like it's just feels good to just be like, Ugh.
- 43:40Like less is more.
- 43:41Okay.
- 43:41But yeah, I love it because we're in that season, we're still in that season.
- 43:44We're gonna embrace the season.
- 43:45And that's how we'll wrap up this episode.
- 43:47Yes.
- 43:47I love it that we're trying to embrace the season.
- 43:49Mm-hmm.
- 43:50We know that mom burnout is a thing.
- 43:51Mm-hmm.
- 43:52But also on this episode, we kind of talked about a little bit of what career?
- 43:55Career burnout too.
- 43:56Career burnout too.
- 43:56And just like life burnout.
- 43:58And it's like life burnout.
- 43:59Know, I think that's just, I'm sure it's something that a lot of people can relate to.
- 44:03One aspect of their life.
- 44:04Maybe it's not career, maybe it's not with the kids, but Yeah, I think burnout's just something that is just a human thing that everybody goes through.
- 44:11Right.
- 44:11And it seems like both of us go through that when we're not feeling inspired.
- 44:15Mm-hmm.
- 44:16And looks, and we're both always looking for new ways to inspire ourselves.
- 44:20For sure.
- 44:20So that's for.
- 44:22That's healthy, that I'm proud of us for doing that.
- 44:24Yeah, me too.
- 44:25Yeah.
- 44:25So this has been a great convo, guys.
