- 1:00SPEAKER_01: Yay! Guess what, you guys?
- 1:04SPEAKER_01: What?
- 1:05SPEAKER_01: We are on our 200th episode of the Cleaning Business Life Podcast.
- 1:11SPEAKER_01: I am your co-host, Jamie Runko, and I am with the incredible founder, inventor, extraordinaire Shannon Miller.
- 1:23SPEAKER_02: Can you believe that we're here?
- 1:25SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 1:26SPEAKER_00: This is definitely a milestone.
- 1:29SPEAKER_00: We actually hit 200 episodes a couple days back.
- 1:32SPEAKER_00: I'm like, hey, I'm filming podcasts and what's to do.
- 1:35SPEAKER_00: No.
- 1:35SPEAKER_00: It's funny.
- 1:36SPEAKER_00: Men, I don't know why they do what they do, but always, it's always a thing, right?
- 1:40SPEAKER_00: When I'm getting on the best.
- 1:41SPEAKER_01: Oh, I'm sure that I'll hear you'll hear a ding.
- 1:44SPEAKER_01: He's the only one that can go through as the emergency ding.
- 1:49SPEAKER_01: Hey, what are you doing?
- 1:50SPEAKER_00: Hey, what are you doing?
- 1:51SPEAKER_00: But we're here and don't listen to me rant.
- 1:54SPEAKER_00: We hit 200 episodes.
- 1:56SPEAKER_00: We're probably at the 203, 204 mark.
- 1:58SPEAKER_00: And I wanted to come out here and celebrate you guys.
- 2:02SPEAKER_00: This is momentous for both Jamie and myself.
- 2:06SPEAKER_00: I wasn't sure where this would go.
- 2:08SPEAKER_00: The goal is to get to a thousand episodes, so we'll have a whole catalog for the industry.
- 2:13SPEAKER_00: Um, the whole point of doing this is so that we can help everyone a legacy to buy a house, to buy a truck, you have employees or not employees.
- 2:22SPEAKER_00: Whatever you choose to do, it's up to you.
- 2:25SPEAKER_00: But we want to be here with you on your ride.
- 2:28SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 2:33SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
- 2:33SPEAKER_01: I'm not I'm looking at the script, but I'm like, where are you gonna go off script?
- 2:38SPEAKER_01: I know I'm I'm a little teary-eyed.
- 2:40SPEAKER_01: This is a big deal for me too.
- 2:43SPEAKER_02: You guys have watched uh Shannon, well, you just kind of mole at me, huh?
- 2:51SPEAKER_01: Helped help steer the direction.
- 2:54SPEAKER_01: I'm literally you guys sitting in my o storefront office.
- 2:59SPEAKER_01: I have a sign up that says recording in progress, and I I got my legs.
- 3:05SPEAKER_01: This is crazy to me.
- 3:08SPEAKER_01: And while I'm doing this, there's I I still have employees all out there working right now, and I'm able to show you what's possible through the eyes of uh of Shannon.
- 3:24SPEAKER_01: Shannon really helped mold me to get to where I'm at.
- 3:31SPEAKER_01: And then this so this 200 episodes is really just I never I just whenever you asked me to come on board, I I was like, sure.
- 3:42SPEAKER_01: I never in a million years thought that we would be going along, and I don't see any stopping.
- 3:48SPEAKER_01: I don't see any slowing down at all.
- 3:51SPEAKER_01: Because I absolutely love changing the the industry like we are.
- 4:00SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I don't I don't think either one of us knew what cleaning business life would become.
- 4:06SPEAKER_00: I I really, I mean, we're we're almost a cult movement.
- 4:11SPEAKER_00: I would at the stats, and there are literally 190 different countries that download us every single week.
- 4:20SPEAKER_00: There I see cities that I've never heard of that download us, and and and and countries that I'm not that familiar with.
- 4:28SPEAKER_00: It's it's amazing to me how and and it comes from the bottom of my heart.
- 4:32SPEAKER_00: So thank you.
- 4:33SPEAKER_00: I feel my god, I'm gonna cry.
- 4:35SPEAKER_00: Me too.
- 4:36SPEAKER_00: It's okay.
- 4:36SPEAKER_00: We got this.
- 4:37SPEAKER_00: We didn't we weren't coming on here to blubber.
- 4:40SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 4:41SPEAKER_00: It's really an emotional thing, like to get as far as we've gotten.
- 4:45SPEAKER_00: I I feel really humbled that someone wants to listen to me.
- 4:48SPEAKER_00: Oh my god.
- 4:50SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 4:51SPEAKER_01: Our followers.
- 4:52SPEAKER_01: I the at first I was like, uh us and our 10 followers, and and that's not the case at all.
- 5:00SPEAKER_01: That's not the case.
- 5:01SPEAKER_01: Um so for all you guys that are tuning in, showing up, sharing the cleaning business life podcast.
- 5:12SPEAKER_01: Thank you.
- 5:13SPEAKER_01: Yes, thank you for listening to us.
- 5:15SPEAKER_01: Thank you for growing with us.
- 5:16SPEAKER_01: You guys are literally watching me in real time grow and what is possible, and I'm not done yet.
- 5:27SPEAKER_01: I I do have a uh thing that it's uh gosh, I'm going live with this.
- 5:34SPEAKER_02: So I have a March to a million goal even here in rural Humboldt County, and there's some bigger cleaning company, uh bigger than I am here, and they're they're doing well over that.
- 5:57SPEAKER_01: So if we can make that, I mean, if these cleaning companies in a rural area like I am in, and there's several cleaning companies bigger than I am that are doing more we're growing together.
- 6:15SPEAKER_01: You're gonna watch us grow together.
- 6:20SPEAKER_01: Yeah, this was a big, big take on, especially for you, Shannon.
- 6:24SPEAKER_01: You you you do a lot of uh she does all the back end of it.
- 6:32SPEAKER_01: I do a lot of research.
- 6:34SPEAKER_01: That that I I feel like we do great tag teaming.
- 6:38SPEAKER_01: You guys, whenever I say research, research, research, and when you think you have it, research some more.
- 6:48SPEAKER_01: And then I share my findings kind of with Shannon.
- 6:52SPEAKER_01: Definitely we find stuff to talk, she finds the stuff to talk about, and then she gets our we're a little bit more structured than when we first started, that's for sure.
- 7:06SPEAKER_01: If you guys go back and listen listen to me in the beginning, I you know that I go off and do lots of ums and and like where's she going with this conversation at times?
- 7:21SPEAKER_02: But yeah, I I'm so grateful.
- 7:26SPEAKER_01: I'm grateful for this old podcast.
- 7:28SPEAKER_01: It's really helped me learn and I and grow, and I hope that it's helping everybody else too.
- 7:34SPEAKER_01: And obviously, something is happening with all those downloads, Shannon.
- 7:38SPEAKER_00: I mean, that just thousands and thousands and thousands and thousands and thousands.
- 7:44SPEAKER_00: So, yeah, 200 episodes later, we're still showing up.
- 7:47SPEAKER_00: We're still learning, we're still growing.
- 7:49SPEAKER_00: I feel like we're a large extended family, and some of you are my cousins, my first cousins, second cousins.
- 7:55SPEAKER_00: And um, we're still finding things that are worth to talk about.
- 7:58SPEAKER_00: I mean, I talked about the Pearl Bras the other day, and that was actually a very interesting point of view.
- 8:04SPEAKER_00: And I really thought about what that was like when I worked at Nordstrom's, and I was like, no one's gonna pay$750 for a bra.
- 8:11SPEAKER_00: But today we're gonna celebrate a little, reflect a little, laugh a little, cry a little.
- 8:18SPEAKER_00: What the 200 conversations have taught us in business, people, leadership, and when the industry is heading next.
- 8:25SPEAKER_00: And um, I honestly I wasn't sure if we were gonna make it, but we're here, and um it requires for those of you who don't know, when you don't have your own show, a lot of people go, I'm gonna create a podcast, or people are like, I'm gonna, I'm gonna do a podcast.
- 8:41SPEAKER_00: Usually people will start a podcast, they'll get about to eight or ten episodes, and then you never see the podcast again.
- 8:47SPEAKER_00: They filter out.
- 8:49SPEAKER_00: They filter out, and it takes a lot of dedication, it takes a lot of hours to get a podcast.
- 8:54SPEAKER_00: Some podcasts are really lucky.
- 8:56SPEAKER_00: They have a producer and they have a podcast editor, and then they have a VA, and then they have all these other, they have a whole team.
- 9:04SPEAKER_00: We're a very small team.
- 9:05SPEAKER_00: It's Jamie Me, and sometimes a VA, sometimes not a VA.
- 9:09SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 9:10SPEAKER_00: Very, very rare.
- 9:12SPEAKER_00: We're very, we're very compact and very and we talk about blocks of time because we both have kids, drop off on pickup.
- 9:19SPEAKER_00: Some of the other podcast people don't have kids yet, and that's fine too.
- 9:24SPEAKER_00: But uh there is a lot of discipline that's required.
- 9:27SPEAKER_00: Um finding topics week after week.
- 9:29SPEAKER_00: We the last two years have been great because we already have most of the calendar pre-scheduled.
- 9:35SPEAKER_00: So 104 episodes every single year is a lot.
- 9:38SPEAKER_00: Plus, there's bonus episodes, there's a lot of interesting topics that we cover.
- 9:44SPEAKER_00: And then the responsibility of having an audience, I mentioned earlier that 50% of our audience binge listens or watches the podcast.
- 9:57SPEAKER_00: And as you all hear me talk about my husband, I wish that he would listen to me 50% of the time.
- 10:04SPEAKER_00: And um, I I just think it's awesome that you guys are so dedicated and I feel privileged to be able to be in the position that I'm in.
- 10:12SPEAKER_00: What about you, James?
- 10:14SPEAKER_01: I, yeah, I do too.
- 10:17SPEAKER_01: I don't know what I'm gonna ask, but yeah, I do.
- 10:21SPEAKER_00: I I'm I'm kind of like freestyling it here.
- 10:24SPEAKER_00: It's okay.
- 10:25SPEAKER_00: There's the work too that nobody sees behind the scenes.
- 10:28SPEAKER_00: There's a lot of stuff like the conversations that we have.
- 10:31SPEAKER_00: I'm like, what about this, or this sucks, or that sucks, or what about this?
- 10:36SPEAKER_00: I know you guys like the updates on safety with the people who have um harmed some of the people in our industry.
- 10:46SPEAKER_00: We've done a lot of updates on those, which I don't believe any of the other cleaning podcasts cover any of that.
- 10:55SPEAKER_00: And they don't see the planning or the preparation.
- 10:58SPEAKER_00: There's a lot of preparation to get here before the show, there's a lot of preparation to have a guest.
- 11:03SPEAKER_00: There are some guests that are easy peasy to work with, and there's some who are like, oh yeah, yeah.
- 11:11SPEAKER_00: Hence the reason why we you have to sign a media release.
- 11:14SPEAKER_00: I had someone question that the other day, and there are legality reasons why we have a media release.
- 11:20SPEAKER_00: I wish it could be easy peasy without it, but um just it just because of the That's just well it it it is a business, right?
- 11:31SPEAKER_01: Right?
- 11:32SPEAKER_01: And then, you know, in your business, I I I make sure that we have media release forms.
- 11:40SPEAKER_01: You know, sometimes people, you know, they'll wanna not saying that whoever our guests are, would you guys would ever do this for future guests.
- 11:50SPEAKER_01: I'm saying sometimes people will be like, I want that off of there.
- 11:55SPEAKER_01: Or cut this out.
- 11:56SPEAKER_01: Or do no, we have the legal rights now.
- 11:59SPEAKER_01: You know, I just putting policies in place just like you do for your business.
- 12:03SPEAKER_01: Because at the end of the day, the Cleaning Business Live podcast is a business.
- 12:08SPEAKER_00: And it is a business, a growing business.
- 12:10SPEAKER_01: It sure is, it sure is.
- 12:13SPEAKER_00: It's it's it is so yeah, the planning, the preparation, the conversations before the conversations, and then the conversations before those conversations.
- 12:24SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 12:25SPEAKER_00: There's a lot of there's a lot and then life events happening.
- 12:28SPEAKER_00: Sometimes tech doesn't work and we have to go back to old school Zoom.
- 12:32SPEAKER_00: I we've had that happen more than I would like.
- 12:36SPEAKER_01: I'm like right before the show, we were you Shannon just got kicked out of the podcast.
- 12:42SPEAKER_01: I was like, hey, um, what happened to you?
- 12:45SPEAKER_01: Where'd you go?
- 12:46SPEAKER_01: Tech because I don't know.
- 12:48SPEAKER_00: Yep, tech just happens.
- 12:50SPEAKER_00: It's uh there's certain lessons that keep showing up no matter what the topic is, and there's different stories, there's different solutions, different situations, but it's always the same lesson.
- 13:03SPEAKER_00: Uh because I'm starting to see a pattern.
- 13:04SPEAKER_00: I'm all about watching the patterns.
- 13:08SPEAKER_02: And is that you or me?
- 13:11SPEAKER_02: Are you frozen?
- 13:13SPEAKER_02: No.
- 13:13SPEAKER_02: Am I frozen?
- 13:14SPEAKER_02: Right, there's a weird sound in the background.
- 13:19SPEAKER_02: Uh it's a truck.
- 13:22SPEAKER_02: Yay.
- 13:24SPEAKER_02: Normally it's my house.
- 13:25SPEAKER_02: As you can see, it's a few.
- 13:26SPEAKER_00: Oh, it was a big, huge diesel truck.
- 13:28SPEAKER_00: We're working on a big laundry project, so it's just we're just gonna go for it.
- 13:32SPEAKER_00: Yeah, we are.
- 13:37SPEAKER_00: And there's turnover, there's poor communications, lack of systems.
- 13:41SPEAKER_00: We talk about systems all the time.
- 13:43SPEAKER_00: React usership.
- 13:45SPEAKER_00: There's nothing worse than having a temper tantrum because you overjumped.
- 13:49SPEAKER_00: And that is the hardest thing is to control yourself when someone oversteps.
- 13:54SPEAKER_00: And then there's constant firefighting, putting out fires after well, you start to hamper them down before they flare up.
- 14:00SPEAKER_02: Sure do.
- 14:02SPEAKER_00: And yeah, chaos is just expensive.
- 14:05SPEAKER_00: And then systems before speed, everyone wants faster, but few people want systems.
- 14:11SPEAKER_00: If you don't have any systems, you and we've heard I don't know how many gurus say is you're the bottleneck.
- 14:16SPEAKER_00: Don't be the bottleneck in your in your own business.
- 14:19SPEAKER_00: Have a backup plan.
- 14:20SPEAKER_00: I spoke to a business owner who injured themselves and is not able to work, and she had no backup plan for who was gonna run the ship.
- 14:28SPEAKER_00: Well, she couldn't.
- 14:28SPEAKER_00: So we're we're trying to transition her to get her in a hurry.
- 14:33SPEAKER_00: Because she didn't have any systems in place, no one to cut payroll, no one to what how do I onboard a new client?
- 14:40SPEAKER_00: How do I onboard a new employee?
- 14:41SPEAKER_00: How do I do this?
- 14:42SPEAKER_00: How do I do this?
- 14:43SPEAKER_00: I'm like, oh my gosh.
- 14:44SPEAKER_00: And that's where I'm at right now.
- 14:48SPEAKER_02: You guys, that's where I'm at right now.
- 14:51SPEAKER_02: If something were to happen to me, who who's gonna do hiring?
- 14:59SPEAKER_01: Who who's gonna who's gonna do the schedule?
- 15:02SPEAKER_01: I I mean, for the most part, they can do that a little bit, but uh who who's who's gonna do these things?
- 15:08SPEAKER_01: Documentation is important.
- 15:11SPEAKER_00: Operational consistency is important.
- 15:14SPEAKER_00: You may have heard me talk about Tomas.
- 15:17SPEAKER_00: Tomas is a good friend in my town, and he almost died year before last.
- 15:22SPEAKER_00: He took a bus with his wife and his child down to Mexico, which is what anyone would do if they're going to a resort or whatever, and they got hit head on on their bus by a semi-truck.
- 15:33SPEAKER_00: I think 22 or 27 people died, including Tomas's baby and his wife, who he loved immensely.
- 15:40SPEAKER_00: And Tomas was in the hospital.
- 15:42SPEAKER_00: We didn't know at what point if he was gonna make it.
- 15:45SPEAKER_00: And thankfully, he had systems in place for his business to keep running while he, I mean, he was in the hospital, I think almost six months.
- 15:53SPEAKER_00: It was saying, and Tomas, we love you.
- 15:57SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 15:58SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 15:59SPEAKER_00: You stuff like that could happen in an instant.
- 16:01SPEAKER_00: He was just minding his own business, sitting on the bus with his wife and baby, and the wife and baby didn't make it.
- 16:05SPEAKER_00: So when he woke up, is when he found out that his his wife and his baby did not make it.
- 16:11SPEAKER_00: So those types of situations can happen in a heartbeat.
- 16:13SPEAKER_00: So make sure that you have operational consistency on all points, just something to think about.
- 16:18SPEAKER_00: I'm not trying to scare you, but life happens and it happens quick and it happens fast.
- 16:24SPEAKER_00: So you got to have systems in place for something, something to take over.
- 16:28SPEAKER_00: So, like Jamie's setting everything up so that Bodhi can, if he wants to run it, he can, or if he wants to sell it, he can, or if he wants to take a paycheck, he can.
- 16:37SPEAKER_00: Those are the things she's creating a legacy for her her son.
- 16:42SPEAKER_01: Yeah, he has his he has his desk over there.
- 16:45SPEAKER_01: He has a desk, and we're getting ready for summer.
- 16:50SPEAKER_01: Um, and he will be 12 soon, so I can put him on payroll.
- 16:55SPEAKER_00: There you go.
- 16:56SPEAKER_00: That's the way to do it.
- 16:57SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 16:58SPEAKER_00: So you know, there's boundaries that protect profit.
- 17:01SPEAKER_00: This lesson keeps showing up all the time.
- 17:04SPEAKER_00: Um, there's client boundaries, employee boundaries.
- 17:07SPEAKER_00: Those are hard ones, the employee boundaries.
- 17:09SPEAKER_00: And boundaries, owner boundaries, and every time we ignore boundaries, profit tends to suffer.
- 17:17SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 17:18SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 17:19SPEAKER_01: Family boundaries are hard too.
- 17:21SPEAKER_01: They are.
- 17:21SPEAKER_01: I've learned that the hard way.
- 17:24SPEAKER_01: I mean, there there's no once you become an entrepreneur and people I hear people all the time say, Oh, you gotta separate.
- 17:32SPEAKER_01: There's no separating it.
- 17:34SPEAKER_01: I they do.
- 17:37SPEAKER_01: It is.
- 17:38SPEAKER_01: But you do need to make time for your family.
- 17:41SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 17:42SPEAKER_01: But yeah, that's whenever yeah, profits do tend to suffer whenever stuff like that happens.
- 17:51SPEAKER_01: Business problems are usually human problems, right?
- 17:55SPEAKER_02: This was one of the biggest surprises.
- 17:58SPEAKER_01: Pricing confidences, leadership, communication fear, and self-worth.
- 18:07SPEAKER_01: Most peop business problems aren't really business problems, they're people problems.
- 18:13SPEAKER_02: Truth.
- 18:14SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it is.
- 18:16SPEAKER_02: So yeah.
- 18:20SPEAKER_01: Lots of problems if if you don't put your systems in place.
- 18:24SPEAKER_01: That goes back to where you you you started this this whole podcast from the beginning.
- 18:32SPEAKER_01: Systems.
- 18:33SPEAKER_01: That's the biggest thing.
- 18:35SPEAKER_01: And that's what it is, is it you're creating a system.
- 18:38SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 18:39SPEAKER_00: And and sometimes those systems are small micro steps, and sometimes those systems are large or have multiple huge steps that you know people have to cross.
- 18:50SPEAKER_00: I used to think when I first started the podcast, I and you can tell from the early episodes, I just figured everybody wanted tips, right?
- 18:58SPEAKER_00: 10 10 steps to start your business now.
- 19:00SPEAKER_00: I think that has, I can't remember, I I want to say six or seven thousand downloads, just that first episode.
- 19:08SPEAKER_00: I think I thought people wanted strategy.
- 19:10SPEAKER_00: And sometimes I do get I still to this day give you strategy because I want to help you along.
- 19:16SPEAKER_02: Or the or the business lesson.
- 19:18SPEAKER_00: I I've just discovered that people just they relate to stories first, right?
- 19:25SPEAKER_00: Like La Perla, the Dollar Tree, the Memorial Day, another episode that I blubbered in.
- 19:30SPEAKER_00: Sorry about that.
- 19:31SPEAKER_00: It's just maybe it's the full moon, who knows?
- 19:35SPEAKER_00: There's so many memorable episodes that we the social media is a second job, was a real big kicker.
- 19:41SPEAKER_00: I was really surprised.
- 19:43SPEAKER_00: Because everybody's like, yes, yes, this is our empty full whole podcast.
- 19:50SPEAKER_01: It is.
- 19:50SPEAKER_01: It it's constant.
- 19:52SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's constant.
- 19:54SPEAKER_01: Uh I do.
- 19:55SPEAKER_01: I believe I agree.
- 19:56SPEAKER_01: I think that people want well, you see it.
- 20:00SPEAKER_01: You see it with the ratings.
- 20:02SPEAKER_01: Uh people want real, raw.
- 20:06SPEAKER_01: What are you going through?
- 20:07SPEAKER_01: Oh, you're going through that too.
- 20:09SPEAKER_02: I think people connect to see.
- 20:15SPEAKER_00: It's we're not a full-blown production like your story's real and we try to be as transparent as we can so that you guys who are listening, because we we know that most of you guys listen while you're out there cleaning.
- 20:31SPEAKER_00: So you're like listening to Shannon and Jamie go, oh yeah, they said that.
- 20:34SPEAKER_00: Oh yeah, they said that.
- 20:35SPEAKER_00: And yeah.
- 20:38SPEAKER_01: You know, when you're listening to a podcast, you're like, Yes, yes, I get that.
- 20:44SPEAKER_01: I get that.
- 20:45SPEAKER_01: But don't stop there.
- 20:48SPEAKER_01: Do not stop there.
- 20:49SPEAKER_01: Whenever you agree with something, it's gotta go back and actually fix the thing that you agree with.
- 20:55SPEAKER_01: Like, you need to implement that.
- 20:57SPEAKER_01: Don't don't be like, yep, I agree with that, and just let it sit there.
- 21:02SPEAKER_01: Don't let it just sit there and do nothing and be like, yep, I agree with that.
- 21:06SPEAKER_01: No, we need to implement this.
- 21:08SPEAKER_01: So it's a part of the system.
- 21:09SPEAKER_01: Let's make these systems work.
- 21:12SPEAKER_01: So more more and more more and more uh people are about human nature, right?
- 21:19SPEAKER_01: People don't change because they receive information, people change because they hear a story.
- 21:26SPEAKER_01: You know, I'm always good about giving my stories.
- 21:30SPEAKER_01: They recognize we're just talking about this.
- 21:32SPEAKER_01: You recognize yourself in what you're hearing us tell you.
- 21:39SPEAKER_01: You have an emotional reaction to it.
- 21:42SPEAKER_02: Like a blubbering.
- 21:44SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 21:45SPEAKER_02: You become open to the actual lesson that is being taught here.
- 21:52SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 21:53SPEAKER_00: And I honestly think that's probably one of the biggest lessons I have learned by podcasting.
- 21:58SPEAKER_00: It's whether it's pricing, leadership, burnout boundaries, hiring, or growth.
- 22:05SPEAKER_00: The story always comes first.
- 22:07SPEAKER_00: And I love to tell juicy stories.
- 22:09SPEAKER_00: I um I'm not as great of an orator as I'd like to be.
- 22:13SPEAKER_00: One day I'll have a TED talk, but I'm not there yet.
- 22:17SPEAKER_00: Same.
- 22:18SPEAKER_00: Getting up there and having a TED Talk gives me anxiety just talking about it now.
- 22:22SPEAKER_00: So I'm not, I know for a fact, as often as in as I've been in on film, I was just the TED Talk is the next level up.
- 22:31SPEAKER_00: But the and the industry's growing up too.
- 22:33SPEAKER_00: I mean, it used to be the standard was one million dollars.
- 22:36SPEAKER_00: Oh my god, I have a seven-figure business.
- 22:37SPEAKER_00: It's not that anymore.
- 22:39SPEAKER_00: It really is.
- 22:40SPEAKER_00: And when aim when Jamie talks about, you know, the the march to a million, she lives in a really rural area.
- 22:47SPEAKER_00: I mean, like up there by the Redwoods, she lives, it's and everything she does is at a distance.
- 22:53SPEAKER_00: So we're gonna get her to a million and then we're gonna see where she goes from there.
- 22:57SPEAKER_00: And I Guarantee it will keep on compounding.
- 23:01SPEAKER_00: But a lot of companies now, the new standard is five million.
- 23:05SPEAKER_00: I've seen a lot of companies hit 10 million.
- 23:08SPEAKER_00: And that comes with better education, there's better systems, there's more opportunities.
- 23:15SPEAKER_00: What else is there?
- 23:16SPEAKER_00: There's media brands, and then the tech is finally made.
- 23:21SPEAKER_00: Even though sometimes I curse at the tech behind the scenes, the tech, like the AI, the helping you out and helping me construct this and helping me do this is way better because I always sucked at ad copy.
- 23:34SPEAKER_00: I admitted it.
- 23:35SPEAKER_01: The technology, the tech is so, yeah, it's so advanced.
- 23:40SPEAKER_01: I literally needed help writing up a addendum for a new contract on to a commercial contract.
- 23:53SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, just I I knew what I wanted to say, but it's like, man, how do I say it to where I sound like?
- 24:02SPEAKER_01: And uh yeah, uh it wasn't chat GPT, but I used Claude to just help me and then I switched it up and made it my own, and it was just like gadget signed.
- 24:13SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 24:14SPEAKER_00: I don't have the paid version of Claude.
- 24:16SPEAKER_00: Uh Claude makes you wait.
- 24:18SPEAKER_00: If you have the free version of Claude, you have to wait a couple minutes between each question, and I don't have the patience to wait.
- 24:23SPEAKER_00: But if you pay for Claude, I heard it's awesome.
- 24:26SPEAKER_00: I'm not there yet, but I do have my own thing that I pay for with ChatGPT, and I love it.
- 24:31SPEAKER_00: So and it took me a while.
- 24:33SPEAKER_00: I was really skeptical over the AI.
- 24:35SPEAKER_00: I was like, no way, no way, no way.
- 24:37SPEAKER_00: Now I'm like every day, I'm like, okay, yes, me too.
- 24:42SPEAKER_02: I'm over it.
- 24:45SPEAKER_01: It's like all of a sudden, this darn AI understands you.
- 24:50SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 24:51SPEAKER_01: And understands the thoughts that you have in your head and reconstructs them to where it's like and especially you know me, you guys.
- 25:03SPEAKER_01: Like I you I tend to be all over the place sometimes, and I need help to reconstruct those thoughts properly and sound professionally.
- 25:17SPEAKER_01: Even though I am a prof like whenever I get out and I talk in in public, but I I have AI to help me reconstruct those thoughts, and before I even go on stage or whatever it is, I you know read it over and over and over before I go on.
- 25:38SPEAKER_01: And it just, you know, it helps.
- 25:41SPEAKER_00: Jamie is becoming quite the celebrity.
- 25:43SPEAKER_00: She got asked to be a judge.
- 25:49SPEAKER_01: I know, I I did.
- 25:50SPEAKER_01: Um we every year we have uh this thing called uh it's a big, big deal called the chili cook-off.
- 25:59SPEAKER_01: And um because I was nominated as uh best home service business of the year, I of course did not win the that prize.
- 26:37SPEAKER_01: Because of that, my local chamber asked me, um, Ken, would I like to be a judge?
- 26:44SPEAKER_01: And I said, Eating chili?
- 26:47SPEAKER_01: Count me in.
- 26:48SPEAKER_01: I will judge your chili all day long.
- 26:52SPEAKER_00: Definitely.
- 26:54SPEAKER_00: So the cleaning industry does look a lot different.
- 26:56SPEAKER_00: I mean, you guys have all heard me talk about, you know, we didn't have Facebook groups when I first got into this.
- 27:02SPEAKER_00: You couldn't go to another franchise owner and say, Hey, can you help me?
- 27:06SPEAKER_00: I know you just paid a half million dollars for your franchise.
- 27:08SPEAKER_00: You kind of had to invent the wheel.
- 27:10SPEAKER_00: Now it's there's systems, right?
- 27:12SPEAKER_00: The systems have put themselves in place where you can get the information.
- 27:15SPEAKER_00: There's several really large groups that you can join on Facebook.
- 27:19SPEAKER_00: You can ask questions.
- 27:20SPEAKER_00: Some of the information you get is is gold, some of it's not.
- 27:23SPEAKER_00: And if I catch it, I'll be like, no, don't do that.
- 27:26SPEAKER_00: Yeah, please.
- 27:27SPEAKER_00: Yeah, same.
- 27:28SPEAKER_00: I mean this in the nicest way, but don't.
- 27:33SPEAKER_01: I get a little testy, but you know, I stand, I do stand on my soapbox sometimes.
- 27:39SPEAKER_01: It's just because I've been there and I know what I'm talking about, and I don't want you to make the same mistake that I did.
- 27:47SPEAKER_01: Like I steer clear of that, you know, or steer clear of that advice.
- 27:54SPEAKER_01: Again, I'm the one that does a lot of research.
- 27:57SPEAKER_01: Lots.
- 27:59SPEAKER_02: Definitely.
- 28:01SPEAKER_02: And people, another thing that we've learned is people want permission.
- 28:04SPEAKER_00: Um they're looking for permission to raise prices and and setting boundaries.
- 28:10SPEAKER_00: They're looking for permission to think bigger.
- 28:13SPEAKER_00: And you don't have to wait for permission, you just have to find someone who can assist you, uh, whether that's a mentor who is doing it for free or a coach.
- 28:23SPEAKER_00: There are several dozen to choose from now.
- 28:26SPEAKER_00: Or you can DIY it.
- 28:28SPEAKER_00: I know there's several of you guys who have DIY'd everything at five years in, and it's amazing.
- 28:35SPEAKER_00: I don't have the kind of energy that it would take to do it.
- 28:40SPEAKER_00: But you know, if if you want to do it that way, whatever I just want to meet you where you are.
- 28:45SPEAKER_00: It's and there's a lot of other people who don't want to meet you where they are, you have to follow their protocols and do their things.
- 28:51SPEAKER_00: It whatever your goals are is what is good for you.
- 28:55SPEAKER_00: It's not good for Shannon or Jamie.
- 28:57SPEAKER_00: It's just good.
- 28:59SPEAKER_01: No, and that's the way I've always felt whenever it was a little structured, but that's how I always felt whenever working with you, whenever I was in your coaching program.
- 29:12SPEAKER_01: You met me where I was at.
- 29:15SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 29:15SPEAKER_00: Because everybody has different goals.
- 29:17SPEAKER_00: Not everybody wants employees, not everybody wants to buy a new truck, not everyone wants to buy a house.
- 29:23SPEAKER_00: Wherever it sometimes people are just doing this for mommy hours and extra income.
- 29:27SPEAKER_00: I completely understand.
- 29:30SPEAKER_00: So that's the great thing about the cleaning industry.
- 29:33SPEAKER_00: It's there, and we're gonna start to see this as AI takes over more and more jobs.
- 29:38SPEAKER_00: There's gonna be a lot more side hustling people who traditionally had jobs in the past where they're gonna do something that impassions them, where they're able to earn more money instead of physically showing up to a regular nine to five office job because AI in the next 18 months is gonna take over a lot of those positions because it's not what's not needed for us to do that anymore.
- 29:59SPEAKER_00: Well, and I know that this is the next question.
- 30:02SPEAKER_00: I haven't gone to the ISSA show this year, but the robotics, and I've seen them, it's all over the internet.
- 30:08SPEAKER_00: Elon is starting to sell them.
- 30:10SPEAKER_00: They're not to sell to the general public, to us, us people.
- 30:15SPEAKER_00: But people are like robots, what about the robots?
- 30:18SPEAKER_00: I'm like, when they come for sale, I'm probably gonna buy like five robots and rent them out just because it'll be to see where it goes.
- 30:26SPEAKER_00: Okay, that's entrepreneurs, but I just to see, right?
- 30:32SPEAKER_01: Speaking of, what if my son picked out a movie because every Friday we do movie night?
- 30:37SPEAKER_01: We get the popcorn, you know, the snacks, everything.
- 30:42SPEAKER_01: This last weekend, he picked out a classic.
- 30:47SPEAKER_01: What did heRobot.
- 30:49SPEAKER_01: Oh my god, I haven't ever.
- 30:53SPEAKER_01: Me neither.
- 30:54SPEAKER_01: And when I I was just it it w it was as it was uh it's supposed to be 2035.
- 31:00SPEAKER_01: Mind you, this was made back in 2002.
- 31:03SPEAKER_00: I believe so.
- 31:04SPEAKER_00: Is that Will Smith something?
- 31:06SPEAKER_01: Yes, Will Smith.
- 31:07SPEAKER_01: I haven't seen that forever.
- 31:09SPEAKER_01: And I just I remember thinking, what that's coming.
- 31:14SPEAKER_01: I mean, it's cu it's almost here.
- 31:16SPEAKER_01: It's almost here.
- 31:17SPEAKER_01: It was uh yeah, goosebumps.
- 31:20SPEAKER_01: So it was funny how this was not even a thought process.
- 31:26SPEAKER_01: AI was not a thought process in 2002.
- 31:31SPEAKER_01: And here we are at 2025.
- 31:33SPEAKER_01: My son picks out iRobot, and uh, we're why and I'm like, that's kind of what's happening now.
- 31:40SPEAKER_02: Now, you know, in the technology world, do we have robots?
- 31:48SPEAKER_01: I don't are we gonna have robots in the next 10 years?
- 31:51SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 31:52SPEAKER_01: I hear, I hear we are, but there's this will always, I feel no matter what, will always be a human touch-based industry, and it's growing.
- 32:03SPEAKER_01: You guys, I cannot stri I like a hundred, what's there, a hundred thousand people in the whole county, and we're talking there's like two hundred two hundred miles square feet, whatever that is twenty-six.
- 32:21SPEAKER_01: Yeah, in the whole county, there's some places I can't even go to because it's too far.
- 32:27SPEAKER_01: I mean, literally, like up in Willow Creek and stuff.
- 32:31SPEAKER_01: Sorry if any of my listeners, because it is connected to my website, the podcast is we don't service Willow Creek.
- 32:43SPEAKER_01: But what I'm trying to say is even in this rule of an area, I know that in the next town over Eureka, we have a well, he's the local competitor that's been here 30 years, right?
- 33:02SPEAKER_01: Well, well over a million dollars in and I'm I'm marching my way up there.
- 33:09SPEAKER_01: My town that I'm in is under 15,000.
- 33:14SPEAKER_01: Right, so it's a very small town.
- 33:16SPEAKER_01: 15,000 people.
- 33:18SPEAKER_01: Mind you, I got I I pretty much have this unlocked, not to toot my own horn or anything, but this is my base camp, and this is where I'm most branded at.
- 33:29SPEAKER_01: Just let that sink in for a second.
- 33:32SPEAKER_01: In this rule of a town, and it's it's growing.
- 33:38SPEAKER_01: Our industry is just booming.
- 33:40SPEAKER_01: There's no slowing it down.
- 33:42SPEAKER_01: Not even with AI, not even with iRobot.
- 33:45SPEAKER_00: So, what she's telling you indirectly, and because we hear it all the time, is I can't get those prices in my town.
- 33:51SPEAKER_00: I live in a small town.
- 33:52SPEAKER_00: Jamie charges more money than I charge.
- 33:55unknown: Yeah.
- 33:57SPEAKER_01: Don't come at me$200.
- 33:58SPEAKER_01: Easily.
- 33:59SPEAKER_01: Do not ask me about pricing.
- 34:03SPEAKER_01: I am I am highest in my industry.
- 34:06SPEAKER_01: I charge probably the highest in the industry.
- 34:09SPEAKER_01: I because everybody gawks at it.
- 34:11SPEAKER_01: Like, what?
- 34:12SPEAKER_01: I promise you, though, if I live in this rule of an area, you can too.
- 34:18SPEAKER_01: That's just to give you an idea.
- 34:20SPEAKER_01: Let your mind wrap around that.
- 34:23SPEAKER_01: A hundred thousand people.
- 34:25SPEAKER_01: And I hear people saying all the time, I live in a small town of 300,000.
- 34:30SPEAKER_01: I'm like, what?
- 34:31SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
- 34:32SPEAKER_01: You don't know.
- 34:33SPEAKER_01: You don't even know what small is.
- 34:36SPEAKER_01: Um so I just want you guys just to kind of So remember that.
- 34:41SPEAKER_00: Remember that next time you think I can't get those prices in my town.
- 34:44SPEAKER_00: I live in a small town because Jamie lives in a super small town and charges more than what I charge.
- 34:49SPEAKER_00: And that's super important.
- 34:51SPEAKER_00: And and she shows up, right?
- 34:53SPEAKER_00: She has persistence.
- 34:55SPEAKER_00: It looks like Jamie got dropped.
- 34:57SPEAKER_00: She'll come back in in a minute.
- 34:58SPEAKER_00: So Jamie shows up.
- 35:00SPEAKER_00: She is persistence.
- 35:01SPEAKER_00: So we're in year four of her business, and I've just loved being on the sidelines watching her grow, right?
- 35:09SPEAKER_00: You can see all of the laundry now because she'll be back in.
- 35:13SPEAKER_00: This is a special laundry project that I got that I wasn't supposed to get because the laundromat couldn't take on any more laundry, and it was a midterm rental, and like, yay.
- 35:24SPEAKER_02: So see what the technology she got bounced out.
- 35:30SPEAKER_00: And then long-term thinking, like doing a quarterly meeting with yourself or another person and planning what you're going to do for the quarter, revenue-wise, what your goals are.
- 35:42SPEAKER_00: It's very focused and very intentional.
- 35:45SPEAKER_00: And then for sure, not quitting, because as long as you take small steps, you will eventually get to your goal.
- 35:52SPEAKER_00: And I think that's probably the hardest letter lesson to learn.
- 35:56SPEAKER_00: I talked a lot about what was the hardest thing that I've learned over the years and someone else's podcast.
- 36:02SPEAKER_00: And it was learning how to pivot.
- 36:04SPEAKER_00: And not quitting and learning how to pivot or when to pivot is probably the hardest part of discernment that you can do in your business.
- 36:11SPEAKER_00: And um, let's see if she's coming back on.
- 36:19SPEAKER_02: So hopefully she'll pop back in here.
- 36:22SPEAKER_00: So not quitting is really important, and you will eventually get where you're gonna go.
- 36:27SPEAKER_00: Some people have faster growth patterns than others.
- 36:31SPEAKER_00: And most importantly, women are changing this industry.
- 36:38SPEAKER_00: And part of this gives me goosebumps, and you'll hear me talk about it a lot.
- 36:41SPEAKER_00: We are the 23rd trade.
- 36:43SPEAKER_00: This is the first time in the history of America that women have dominated a field where most of us are women business owners.
- 36:50SPEAKER_00: It's not um, and and for those guys out there, I love you, but we're the 23rd trade is mostly women-based.
- 36:56SPEAKER_00: We're mostly women leaders.
- 36:58SPEAKER_00: I think it's an awesome dynamic to be part of.
- 37:02SPEAKER_00: There, we're not just working in the industry, we're owning it, we're leading it, we're teaching it, they're we're building wealth through it, we're creating legacy, they're creating opportunities for themselves and other women and their families and their future generations.
- 37:17SPEAKER_00: And honestly, that's one of the things I'm proud to witness and be part of.
- 37:21SPEAKER_00: I feel like I'm in the middle of the party.
- 37:23SPEAKER_00: Because this isn't really about cleaning, it is, but not really.
- 37:27SPEAKER_00: It's about ownership, freedom, and creating opportunities that didn't previously exist.
- 37:35SPEAKER_00: I don't know if she's gonna be able to come back on.
- 37:37SPEAKER_00: I guess I'll just keep talking about myself.
- 37:39SPEAKER_00: Oh, here she comes.
- 37:40SPEAKER_00: What happened?
- 37:41SPEAKER_00: It just kicked me out.
- 37:43SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 37:44SPEAKER_00: That's the that what happened to me too.
- 37:46SPEAKER_00: I was like, Riverside, love you.
- 37:48SPEAKER_00: I know it's all oh sorry, we have a connection problem.
- 37:51SPEAKER_00: Sorry, guys.
- 37:54SPEAKER_00: So um, we're in uh segment six and actually segment five, the fun stuff.
- 38:00SPEAKER_00: We're following this.
- 38:01SPEAKER_00: We have to have some guidelines because we both go scroll.
- 38:04SPEAKER_00: Yep, sure do.
- 38:05SPEAKER_01: Like, I just want I really want people to under Whoa! Don't do that.
- 38:14SPEAKER_02: There we go.
- 38:16SPEAKER_02: All right, and there are a lot of fun episodes that we've done in the past.
- 38:24SPEAKER_00: Um we've had a lot of fun guests who are really very informative and very and very gracious, and we're always grateful to have them on.
- 38:34SPEAKER_00: I think some of the funnier episodes are when we're really candid and it just kind of goes off topic.
- 38:41SPEAKER_00: I can't think of one off the top of my head.
- 38:42SPEAKER_00: Can you think of a funny, funny episode?
- 38:45SPEAKER_01: No, because I it's all the time I'm always going off topic.
- 38:49SPEAKER_01: So that's and if if you guys all know me, that's that's me.
- 38:57SPEAKER_02: I can say that I have a couple of favorite guests.
- 39:02SPEAKER_02: Erica.
- 39:03SPEAKER_01: Erica's nobody Erica was great.
- 39:07SPEAKER_01: I like Erica.
- 39:08SPEAKER_01: Erica, if you guys don't know, she's also my um I hired her because of that podcast.
- 39:16SPEAKER_02: She was fun.
- 39:19SPEAKER_02: Sarah.
- 39:20SPEAKER_01: Sarah was fun.
- 39:23SPEAKER_01: I do, I'll tell you right now, what am I talking about?
- 39:26SPEAKER_01: Duh.
- 39:27SPEAKER_01: And if you don't know who the crazy cleaning lady is, Sam.
- 39:31SPEAKER_01: Sam.
- 39:33SPEAKER_01: If you have been living under a rock, that was our that was probably my funnest funniest best memory.
- 39:45SPEAKER_01: Also, Ryan with Long's products.
- 39:48SPEAKER_01: Love that.
- 39:49SPEAKER_01: I love that episode.
- 39:54SPEAKER_02: Our most surprising episode though.
- 39:56SPEAKER_02: What would I don't know.
- 40:01SPEAKER_00: I don't know what you're The social media's a second job was a surprising episode.
- 40:05SPEAKER_00: That got a lot of downloads and it hit it resonated with a lot of people.
- 40:11SPEAKER_00: I th I think the the biggest lesson learned is there's so many lessons.
- 40:18SPEAKER_00: I I can't think of one particular big lesson that stuck out.
- 40:21SPEAKER_00: Can you think of anything?
- 40:23SPEAKER_00: Well, of course I can.
- 40:27SPEAKER_02: Yes, of course I can.
- 40:29SPEAKER_01: Uh that uh the important lesson is through the whole thing, almost in every episode, I always say something about it don't matter where you live, how rural you are, you do get those prices and you can hire.
- 40:46SPEAKER_01: Those are some big lessons.
- 40:48SPEAKER_01: It's just about learning it.
- 40:50SPEAKER_01: Those are my biggest lessons learned.
- 40:54SPEAKER_02: And what was your favorite story?
- 41:00SPEAKER_02: This this is a pretty good one right now.
- 41:02SPEAKER_01: This is a this this episode right here is probably gonna be the most memorable.
- 41:10SPEAKER_02: It's a big deal.
- 41:12SPEAKER_02: And it's a great story.
- 41:16SPEAKER_02: We have a great story to tell.
- 41:20SPEAKER_00: And then the biggest audience surprise, it's uh some of the comments on Buzzsprout are like, I'm like, oh my god, someone took the time to put a comment in there, and then others, I've had a couple of trolls.
- 41:32SPEAKER_00: I'm like, ouch.
- 41:34SPEAKER_00: Maybe you have to have thick skin.
- 41:36SPEAKER_00: I'm like, what?
- 41:37SPEAKER_00: Yeah, don't you know you make it is when you get trolls.
- 41:43SPEAKER_02: I'm like, God, that was really mean.
- 41:46SPEAKER_02: Ouch.
- 41:49SPEAKER_02: Banding off with duct tape, man.
- 41:51SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but it's uh it's it's all good.
- 41:54SPEAKER_01: I did you just get you get trolls, you know.
- 41:57SPEAKER_01: But knowing that you guys listen and were inside your ear every week, it is just so it's so awesome.
- 42:10SPEAKER_01: I am so I you know, I for forever I was just like, oh, it's just me and Shannon just sitting there shooting the breeze, you know.
- 42:18SPEAKER_01: And then to see this the insights, you know how you can see the insights on Facebook, you can see the insights on the actual podcast, and it's like wow, my mouth about dropped open.
- 42:32SPEAKER_01: I'm like, wow, wow, people are really hearing this.
- 42:36SPEAKER_00: So I don't see 200 as a finished line.
- 42:41SPEAKER_00: As I mentioned, the goal is to get to a thousand, maybe longer.
- 42:45SPEAKER_00: And I I see it as a marker, it's definitely a marker in time, and I think that there's a lot that the cleaning industry is going to do next.
- 42:53SPEAKER_00: Um, as far as the podcast, the the stories just keep getting better and better and better.
- 43:00SPEAKER_00: I think that we really are helping the industry grow.
- 43:04SPEAKER_00: Um, the whole point is for you guys to all create legacy so that you can either sell or gift to family.
- 43:10SPEAKER_00: I say that repeatedly, um, and to generate wealth.
- 43:15SPEAKER_00: It's this isn't a hobby.
- 43:17SPEAKER_00: And I want to see each and every one of you generate wealth.
- 43:22SPEAKER_00: This is the first time I've ever seen people who never thought they had an opportunity to earn a huge amount, a shitload of money.
- 43:33SPEAKER_00: And and this is this right here, right here, you're in the right spot.
- 43:37SPEAKER_00: And it gives me goosebumps talking about it because I'm happening for you guys.
- 43:41SPEAKER_00: You guys reach out to me and tell me, oh my god, I did this, oh my god, I did that.
- 43:44SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, I know, I know I do, I I I do it.
- 43:49SPEAKER_01: And she does.
- 43:50SPEAKER_01: She does.
- 43:52SPEAKER_00: But and and then as we mentioned already, AI is the future.
- 43:57SPEAKER_00: Embrace it.
- 43:57SPEAKER_00: It's it's a tool, it's not your friend, it's not your BFF, but it is a tool that you should be utilizing, whether you pick Claude or Chat or Grok or whatever.
- 44:07SPEAKER_00: There's like 50 of them now.
- 44:08SPEAKER_00: It's kind of Leia.
- 44:11SPEAKER_00: Leia, too.
- 44:12SPEAKER_00: So um, yeah, I it's gonna change the industry.
- 44:17SPEAKER_00: And I and especially with Leila, I would prefer I like the preference that she is in the industry and she has created something for the industry, and I really it resonates with me.
- 44:28SPEAKER_00: I've poked around there a couple times.
- 44:29SPEAKER_00: I have not used it as much as I probably could have.
- 44:33SPEAKER_00: But if that is something that you're interested, type in Layla with an orange.
- 44:40SPEAKER_00: With an orange, and it's with Libby, and I can't remember how to say her last name in Libby.
- 44:47SPEAKER_01: Deluciano or Delucian.
- 44:50SPEAKER_00: Delucian.
- 44:52SPEAKER_00: I don't want to question your name, but in any case, for those of you know, just look up Layla AI.
- 44:57SPEAKER_00: It will be there.
- 44:58SPEAKER_00: It's specific for the cleaning industry, and I think it's a tool that you could really utilize.
- 45:05SPEAKER_00: And ultimately, as I've mentioned on my soapbox, you want to build a life that you want to participate in.
- 45:11SPEAKER_00: Life is short.
- 45:13SPEAKER_00: Short, it goes by super fucking fast.
- 45:16SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 45:17SPEAKER_00: You know, there's health, there's boundaries, there's time, family, sustainability, and purpose.
- 45:23SPEAKER_00: Start a journal.
- 45:24SPEAKER_00: If you don't have, and they say this, and I know that this has kind of gotten off the beaten path.
- 45:29SPEAKER_00: When you write with your hand in handwriting, it doesn't have to be cursive, but when you write versus type, it connects the the two, I can't think of the name, not the electrons, there's a name for it, in your brain, which causes your brain to fire faster, which brings in more creativity and you're able to manifest basically.
- 45:52SPEAKER_00: Manifest to do a source, you're able to do things a lot quicker versus if you only type.
- 45:57SPEAKER_00: If you read a book with paper, they have done studies on that as well.
- 46:03SPEAKER_00: I'm just saying, I'm not trying to go down the deep end of conspiracy theory with my uh aluminum foil.
- 46:08SPEAKER_00: They've just done studies with it.
- 46:11SPEAKER_00: And if you write in a journal, uh create a journal, create a vision board, a lot of people do that.
- 46:17SPEAKER_00: Do something.
- 46:18SPEAKER_02: Those are important.
- 46:20SPEAKER_00: Start to plan what that is.
- 46:22SPEAKER_00: You can even do with Chat GPT.
- 46:23SPEAKER_00: If you have something that you want to do, a memory book or whatever, ChatGPT can make you images.
- 46:29SPEAKER_00: You can print those out and slap them in the book.
- 46:31SPEAKER_00: You don't necessarily have to cut out of a magazine anymore.
- 46:34SPEAKER_00: You can describe ver, you don't even have to type it.
- 46:36SPEAKER_00: You can just say, I want you to make me a photo of this.
- 46:39SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 46:39SPEAKER_00: And if your chat GPT knows you enough, it'll say, sure, no problem.
- 46:43SPEAKER_00: And it will generate whatever it is that you're looking for.
- 46:46SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 46:48SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 46:48SPEAKER_01: So we're actually starting to build the life that we want, right?
- 46:54SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 46:55SPEAKER_00: Big, big surprises, big news coming in fourth quarter, at least for me.
- 47:00SPEAKER_00: And I have a feeling, Jamie, you're going to have a fantastic third and fourth quarter.
- 47:05SPEAKER_00: We're going to see what that gets us to the end of the year.
- 47:07SPEAKER_00: And then what do I truly hope is true by episode 1000?
- 47:11SPEAKER_00: I hope that by 1000, it's a catalog.
- 47:17SPEAKER_00: The industry is changing fast.
- 47:19SPEAKER_00: And there needs to be more voices like ours, not just, I'm going to have the biggest superstars in our industry and this is what it's like.
- 47:27SPEAKER_00: And I'm not knocking that at all.
- 47:29SPEAKER_01: No, no.
- 47:30SPEAKER_00: There has to be a path to get the in-between.
- 47:32SPEAKER_00: You can't go from A to Z and go, oh my God, look what I did.
- 47:36SPEAKER_00: Which I think is great, but it's not realistic for the rest of us.
- 47:41SPEAKER_00: And I mean that in the nicest way.
- 47:42SPEAKER_00: If you're a superstar, not worthy, I'm not worthy.
- 47:45SPEAKER_00: However, the rest of the industry still needs help to get them up where they need to go.
- 47:52SPEAKER_01: Well, don't forget all these uh the end uh the celebrities in our industry, they started off at a hundred thousand dollar years.
- 48:02SPEAKER_01: Yep, they they put they put one pant leg on just like the rest of us do.
- 48:10SPEAKER_02: So don't, don't, don't compare.
- 48:16SPEAKER_01: Don't compare.
- 48:18SPEAKER_01: Um, I I tend to try and do that sometimes, and I have to reel myself back in.
- 48:22SPEAKER_01: So I'm guilty.
- 48:24SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but it's just I think social media has a lot to do with that.
- 48:30SPEAKER_02: That's what happens.
- 48:31SPEAKER_02: But what else?
- 48:36SPEAKER_02: We're gonna see some business growth, I'm sure.
- 48:41SPEAKER_01: Personal growth.
- 48:44SPEAKER_01: All of which I'm sure I'll share with you guys.
- 48:47SPEAKER_01: Some failures, I'm gonna definitely share those.
- 48:52SPEAKER_01: And I'm just I want to make the biggest impact in our industry for everyone.
- 49:00SPEAKER_01: Just you know, that's why I work well with Shannon, is because I think the same way.
- 49:06SPEAKER_01: So definitely so 200 c 200 episodes is a lot of conversations.
- 49:13SPEAKER_01: That's a lot.
- 49:15SPEAKER_01: That's a lot of talking.
- 49:18SPEAKER_02: That's why I have it's a lot of talking.
- 49:22SPEAKER_00: It it really is.
- 49:24SPEAKER_00: Well, Jamie and I show up every week, twice a week.
- 49:26SPEAKER_00: There wouldn't be a cleaning business life without you listeners.
- 49:29SPEAKER_00: So thank you.
- 49:30SPEAKER_00: Thank you for listening.
- 49:31SPEAKER_00: Thank you for sharing, thank you for supporting us.
- 49:34SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna get all willy-eyed again.
- 49:35SPEAKER_00: Thank you for listening to your journey.
- 49:38SPEAKER_00: I'm like the goal was never to become famous, the goal was never to go viral, even though once in a while it would be nice.
- 49:45SPEAKER_00: The goal was to document an industry that deserved a voice.
- 49:48SPEAKER_02: Oh my god.
- 49:53SPEAKER_00: Because we deserve a voice, and the goal was to document an industry that deserved a voice.
- 49:57SPEAKER_00: I just read that twice.
- 49:59SPEAKER_00: The first 200 episodes are about documenting the industry, the next 800 are gonna help shape where it goes.
- 50:05SPEAKER_00: Amen to that.
- 50:06SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 50:07SPEAKER_00: And honestly, I feel like we're just getting started.
- 50:10SPEAKER_00: If you're watching on YouTube, don't forget to like and subscribe.
- 50:13SPEAKER_00: And if you're listening on your pod on your podcast platform, I have to read this because I'm too teary-eyed to do the rest.
- 50:20SPEAKER_00: Please leave us a review or share the episode with another cleaning business owner.
- 50:24SPEAKER_00: Again, we both love you.
- 50:26SPEAKER_00: And we'll see you in the next episode.
- 50:29SPEAKER_01: Thank you so much, you guys.
- 50:31unknown: Thank you.
- 50:32SPEAKER_00: Have a great day.
- 50:33SPEAKER_01: Thanks for 200 episodes.
- 50:35SPEAKER_01: Bye.
- 50:36SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 50:37unknown: Bye.
