- 1:02today, we have a special episode, you can
- 1:05almost call it or consider it a bonus
- 1:07show of the Fm fpga convention as we
- 1:09did record this live while at the event
- 1:12Daryl from Wack products joins us to discuss
- 1:15some of the new products that he has
- 1:17available. You may remember Daryl from 2 years
- 1:20ago when he joined us the chat about
- 1:22his Rv
- 1:23silence sir. We're are going to touch more
- 1:25on that product, but we're also going to
- 1:27take a look at the importance of air
- 1:30filtration and how All air filters are not
- 1:32created equally. We also talk about what it
- 1:35means to be made in the Usa and
- 1:37how important quality plastic production is when making
- 1:40parts built to last.
- 1:42Well that's enough of me, let's get da
- 1:44on here and get this episode started.
- 1:47Hey, everybody, and welcome back to Beyond the
- 1:49wheel podcast.
- 1:50Today, we are joined with Daryl from Wack
- 1:54products.
- 1:55And
- 1:56if you remember back 2 years ago, we
- 1:58had Da on, He was here to talk
- 1:59about the Rv Ac silence sir.
- 2:02And we wanted to invite him back on
- 2:04the show because it has been a couple,
- 2:06you know, minutes. Yeah. Right. It has been
- 2:08a little bit.
- 2:10We wanted to see what he was up
- 2:11to, what new products we know that you're
- 2:12been working hard and you got some new
- 2:14products out. And we just wanna kinda get
- 2:16an update from you of of what you've
- 2:18been up to how things are going? And
- 2:20where do you see the future of wack
- 2:21products going? Well, you know, in as the
- 2:23last 2 years, we came up some new
- 2:25models or should say new product lines to
- 2:27fit
- 2:28other air conditioner brands.
- 2:30You know, originally, we started out with the
- 2:31medic. Right. Then we went to Coleman,
- 2:34then we had adapted, our dome domestic to
- 2:36fit also Ge.
- 2:38Now we actually have a complete new Fur
- 2:41system out the fifth of New Fur since
- 2:43lipid purchased them, or, you know, stash it's
- 2:45over was probably a couple of years ago,
- 2:47maybe 3 years ago. Sounds great. So about
- 2:482 years ago, Lip kinda hit the the
- 2:50market running or, fear with Lip. You know,
- 2:53and we're starting to see more and more
- 2:55of those f ends on top of the
- 2:57trailers and stuff like that and rigs coming
- 2:59out through the production lines. And so we
- 3:01had to develop a product for that too
- 3:02you. Okay. How long does it take for
- 3:04you to
- 3:06adapt what you already have for something new
- 3:09like that? You know, it just depends on
- 3:10the manufacturer.
- 3:12You know,
- 3:13the nice because now I know Had the
- 3:14concept down. It's it's pretty easy out to
- 3:16adapt to something else. Right? But the nice
- 3:18thing I gotta tell you, and I give
- 3:20hands and getting credit to, Fur on.
- 3:23They were easy to work with. They allowed
- 3:25me to come in, you know, with their
- 3:27staff and and develop the products and do
- 3:29testing with them, stuff like that. So that
- 3:31was an absolutely fantastic experience.
- 3:33Normally, you don't get a kind of warmer
- 3:35response, You know, but it was great.
- 3:38So... And being... It was just writing in
- 3:39Elk carte, you know, only 6 hours from
- 3:41coming Green bay Wisconsin. So 6 and half
- 3:43hours I there. It worked out really well.
- 3:45Oh, That's great. So, you know, I think
- 3:46when I did Fur from saying that I'm
- 3:49gonna do Fur to actually having stuff molded
- 3:52mold made and in production and on the
- 3:54website. We're probably 6, 8 months.
- 3:57That's very quick. Yeah. Yeah. It's nice too
- 3:59that a company
- 4:01allows,
- 4:02like, an aftermarket manufacturer. Like you to come
- 4:04in and and actually work with them. Yeah.
- 4:07I mean, it's It's a great... Experience. And
- 4:09I want to make sure that they're on
- 4:10onboard they're happy with what I was doing
- 4:11also. I mean, because I think that's important.
- 4:13It should should be more of a partnership
- 4:15than, you know, then I'm saying, hey, I'm
- 4:16taking sales from. I'm not. I'm actually helping
- 4:19them sell their conditions because I can solve
- 4:20a solution, you know, or a problem that
- 4:22that they have and give them a solution,
- 4:25whether it's an aftermarket side or if, you
- 4:27know, maybe when they made 1 day, they'll
- 4:29adapt it. I, know, I don't know. I
- 4:30don't know the future is.
- 4:32And I don't think they they'll either. Right?
- 4:34With the economy is the way it is
- 4:35right now and things have changed a little
- 4:37bit. I think a lot of people are
- 4:38scaling back a little bit. And and in
- 4:40our respect, we're growing.
- 4:41You know, we're we're still young company,
- 4:43right around 7 years old, and so we're
- 4:45growing and adapting and changing and developing new
- 4:48products.
- 4:49And that's why Really like coming to the
- 4:50Fm
- 4:51shows and rallies in any show.
- 4:53We're talking to the end users.
- 4:55The customers that... They're getting in their hands.
- 4:58I get feedback from them, and that's where
- 4:59you come up with little tweaks, little changes,
- 5:01you know, I'll stuff like that to make
- 5:03the products better. Yeah. I think a lot
- 5:04of people don't realize
- 5:06how valuable
- 5:07their feedback is to the vendors,
- 5:10Absolutely and improving things for the future. Absolutely.
- 5:13You know, It's not too often and you
- 5:15have a customer pick up a phone call
- 5:16or phone and say, hey, Daryl. Can you
- 5:19change this for me once, you know, whatever
- 5:21it is, but know not to show if
- 5:22I get 15 people, let's say it's the
- 5:23same thing. Yeah. It might need to be
- 5:26done. You know? So that's that's what's all
- 5:29about is adapting.
- 5:30And you kinda touched on it, I was
- 5:31wanna ask, but you kinda alluded to the
- 5:33fact that it... It's it's not a Oem
- 5:36product with Fur. Even though you're with talks
- 5:39with them, even though they helps you design
- 5:40it, there's no immediate. You you would don't
- 5:43see it in immediate future that this could
- 5:45your product could be on their product right
- 5:47from the factory.
- 5:48Yeah. You know, it's it does come down
- 5:50to sometimes a cost factor too. You know,
- 5:52you know, if you look at it, as
- 5:54any manufacturer on the Rv line,
- 5:56selling any products, whether it's air conditioners, furniture
- 5:59or whatever it is. You now there is
- 6:00a cost factor involved. And, you know, if
- 6:03they can sell 6 60000
- 6:05items without having extra cost.
- 6:07Hate safe. Why would they add cost? Right.
- 6:08They don't have to.
- 6:10It's a value added product.
- 6:12That's why their aftermarket sector is growing as
- 6:14what it is, and, you know, all the
- 6:15vendors that are here wouldn't be here if
- 6:18every manufacturer put everything on it from the
- 6:20get go. That's true. You know, I always
- 6:21do the example is the automotive industry. When
- 6:23you went and bought a pickup truck 20
- 6:25years ago,
- 6:26a lot of people went added running boards.
- 6:29They went added, you know,
- 6:31bulk shields. They went added Bluetooth radios, Mh.
- 6:34Or adapters,
- 6:37was it the, your bed liners.
- 6:39Tunnel covers. And now 90 percent of stuff
- 6:41is factory installed.
- 6:43Okay? So there is not much less for
- 6:45the dealer to do. And unfortunately, it's adapting
- 6:48to the same thing to the Rv market.
- 6:50You look at home electric jack's dealer uses
- 6:52sell and install in a new trailer when
- 6:53need buy it. Now that's stand Jack is
- 6:55a lot times standard.
- 6:57Solar is now becoming standard. Yes. Yep. You
- 7:00know? So you're really taken a lot of
- 7:01that that income and service and
- 7:05pride away from the dealers at a dealer
- 7:07level too because everything's going to be factory
- 7:09installed? Has your business model changed much in
- 7:12the last 2 years?
- 7:14Not really.
- 7:16My goal is still to make a quality
- 7:18product. We're a hundred percent Usa made. I
- 7:21Okay. We do everything in green bay, Wisconsin,
- 7:24we actually are now adapting and hiring veterans,
- 7:27which I think is a a key important
- 7:28thing to, you know, our our growing of
- 7:30our company.
- 7:31Because they enjoy going to work. They're they're
- 7:33very disciplined people. They want something to fill
- 7:35their time. Mh so it's been really a
- 7:37good partnership there for us. That's great. Did
- 7:39you hear that, Kenny? Discipline. Discipline is
- 7:43Showing it's here before me, every single morning
- 7:46or somebody here that's discipline.
- 7:49And if you don't know, Sean is, retired
- 7:51air force for anybody listening.
- 7:53But you will also have some new products.
- 7:55I know you're you're now doing filters that
- 7:58replace the Oem filters, and I... Your filters
- 8:00are a much higher quality.
- 8:02Right? Could you talk a little bit about
- 8:04what the Oem filter is and how your
- 8:06filter is differ, you know, differs from that.
- 8:09Yeah. So it's typically...
- 8:11So my Oem filters
- 8:14I guess, let's let's back this up just
- 8:151 little bit. Sure. So we build the
- 8:17Rv ac silence or kits for
- 8:21duct units.
- 8:22Duct units with wall thermostats. You know, there's
- 8:25basically, I call it 3 classifications of Ac
- 8:27units other. There's non duct where the air
- 8:29goes in and out of the air conditioner
- 8:30only. There's no duct work down that ceiling
- 8:32word air can come out of. Duct system's
- 8:34is gonna be where you have an air
- 8:36intake like this here. Of, the original Oem
- 8:39cover, Okay. This is for the theory on
- 8:40here right here by the way. So we
- 8:42actually replace this cover. So this would be
- 8:44for what our sounds are fifth kits fit.
- 8:45So we replace this cover. Okay. With our
- 8:47device. So it's it's air intake. And then
- 8:51sometimes you can open and closed, the coat
- 8:52they call the cold air dump. Cool, and
- 8:54then have air. So you have your supply
- 8:57side vents through the ceiling that air comes
- 8:59out of. That's called a duct system, and
- 9:01then you have to have a wall thermostat.
- 9:02We can't have controls on it. Okay okay?
- 9:05And then you have, what I call a
- 9:06fully duct system.
- 9:07Your in ent, your new mars and stuff
- 9:09like that. Your higher end coaches where your
- 9:11air intake is duct
- 9:13and your supply is duct.
- 9:15So a lot of times you see little
- 9:17around vents up in the ceiling of
- 9:19half them might be with filters in. The
- 9:20other half doesn't. Oh, okay. So you, in
- 9:23a... And how I came to this category
- 9:25is is Would have customers that had bought
- 9:27my silence before. Let's say they had a
- 9:30travel trailer or fifth wheel.
- 9:32And the upgraded
- 9:34to a Class A motor home with a
- 9:36fully duct system. And they asked me, you
- 9:38know, They're all hawk me, you don't have
- 9:39filters for these, you know? Because right now,
- 9:40what we have is the foam filters that
- 9:42come with it. Mh. And, you know, they're
- 9:44not happy with the quality or or what
- 9:45this really is. Right? And that's really it's
- 9:48not a filter.
- 9:50And, so finally, the light came on my
- 9:52head and said, you know what, I can
- 9:53do this. I have the machine. I have
- 9:55the equipment have, you know, I have everything.
- 9:56I just have to do it. So, you
- 9:58know, again, going to shows and stuff like
- 10:00that. I start capturing some sizes what do
- 10:01we need? What's the most popular thing asked
- 10:03for. And so we came up with the
- 10:05line and actually, now we got 14 different
- 10:07skews, different models and styles of filters all
- 10:10the way from
- 10:115 and a quarter rounds, which is 1
- 10:12of or most popular ones with or without
- 10:14the hole in the center because there's some
- 10:15that have holes in the center for the
- 10:17pin to tail attach
- 10:19to it. Okay. Okay. I just came up
- 10:21with this in here. It's... It's... This is
- 10:22an old fill old filter design, but it's
- 10:23actually a Win journey. You see it there's
- 10:255 little holes in the center. Yeah.
- 10:27So win a bagel journey I think had
- 10:29that model for for I can tell 2
- 10:31or 3 years,
- 10:32but there's nobody else there it makes a
- 10:34filter with the 5 little holes.
- 10:36So I do. Okay. Okay. This was becoming
- 10:38a popular.
- 10:411 here. It's kind of an oblong
- 10:43rectangle filter design, and this you see this
- 10:46in the J codes, tag is using it
- 10:48now.
- 10:49So it's really becoming a popular thing.
- 10:51And so that's another filter design there. That's
- 10:54a
- 10:55also a ceiling
- 10:57duct that rectangular 1 you just showed us?
- 10:59Yes. Yeah, that's big. That's correct. Yep. Yep.
- 11:01And before you go any further for anybody
- 11:03listening that doesn't see the video here, I
- 11:05I I'd like to point out, like, when
- 11:06you pick up the Oem filter and it
- 11:09flops all over to place and it's like,
- 11:11paper thin and doesn't really actually look like
- 11:13it would do anything Right. Compared to when
- 11:14you pick up yours and it stays firm
- 11:16and straight across. That's a huge difference right
- 11:18there alone. Correct. Yes. You know, your your
- 11:21foam traditional foam filters, there's no structural strength
- 11:23to it. Right? There's no structure there period.
- 11:26So with with my filter there's actually a
- 11:28honeycomb or if you call it 3 d
- 11:31dimension to. If you look at the end
- 11:32grain. You can see that's Yeah. Got that,
- 11:33you know, that A3D dimension there, and that's
- 11:35it gives it the structure.
- 11:36And that structure is actually really important, not
- 11:38just for strength,
- 11:40but it's also for
- 11:42that way when air flows through it, it
- 11:43doesn't actually crush and block off air. That's
- 11:46what happened to with a traditional foam 1.
- 11:48Gotcha. So that's where you lose airflow and
- 11:50stuff like that with that. Okay?
- 11:52So even as this is getting loaded with
- 11:54dirt with dirt and the pressure from the
- 11:56air. Correct? It's still allowing the airflow because
- 11:59it has...
- 12:00That makes sense. That is correct. That's exactly.
- 12:03So you can have that that filter fully
- 12:04loaded and have a nice airflow yet, where
- 12:06foam you do not. You know, foam... This
- 12:07is good for for about, first 15 minutes
- 12:09and I have to get a piece of
- 12:10dirt on it, it goes downhill from there.
- 12:12Right. And, you know, if you notice that
- 12:14I got a hole cut in this filter.
- 12:15Mh. I actually built a device that I
- 12:18actually test all my filters. All filled materials
- 12:20out there. So Actually loaded it with dirt.
- 12:22I test it loaded, unloaded. How much dirt
- 12:24it holds? How much it goes through it
- 12:26past through it. I do all that. And
- 12:27actually do the same Cfm that the... They
- 12:30actually... The air conditioners use. So we're in
- 12:32you, 350 to 4 Cfm of airflow. We
- 12:35do the same drive, same size motors because
- 12:37I want exact conditions of what we're dealing
- 12:39with Rv. Okay? And a lot of testing
- 12:42labs don't do that. You know, they're using
- 12:44big drives and big blower motors as well.
- 12:45That's not what we have in Rv. Right?
- 12:47So we, you know, try to get as
- 12:48close to reality as possible. And that's where
- 12:50you get the good results you should have.
- 12:52Right?
- 12:53I'll also looking at it daryl. So when
- 12:54I pick up your filter compared to the
- 12:56Oem, this filter looks like it's so on
- 12:58last a much longer time. And I would
- 13:01imagine because it has structure to it, It's
- 13:02going to be easier to clean
- 13:04then say this, you know, if I would
- 13:05try to take a vacuum to the Oem
- 13:071, I drive sucked the whole thing up
- 13:09inside the vacuum. Yeah. It's inside the bag.
- 13:10Right? Yeah. Yes. Yeah. So, yeah. What I
- 13:13say is you vacuum this once it's inside
- 13:14the bag, you wash it once you throw
- 13:16it away. They are not... The phone filters
- 13:18are not a lifetime filter. Okay. K? You
- 13:21listen to anybody with... We talk about tires.
- 13:22They age out. Yep. Same thing with this.
- 13:25Okay And what people don't realize is I
- 13:27don't just gonna throw a number 99 percent
- 13:29of the rigs out there and now have
- 13:30Led lights in them. Mh. That's correct. Led
- 13:32lights give off Uv rays.
- 13:34That's why everything inside rig starts yellow.
- 13:37Okay? It's just like you'd being out the
- 13:38sun. Okay? Okay. Okay. And that choosing and
- 13:41deteriorate any kind of structure. And then this
- 13:43is 1 of them, the foam. Also the
- 13:45ozone in the air. That affects tires too
- 13:47saying. Right. Right. And kind of petroleum product
- 13:49that it it that affects that all. So,
- 13:50yes, these are a dated material. And whether
- 13:53it's brand new on the shelf
- 13:55or you're using it 3 months you toss
- 13:56it.
- 13:58And that's not always the case what people
- 13:59do. You know, I talked to many people
- 14:01and say, oh, I've had a rig for
- 14:026 years, we have filters.
- 14:04You know, so I kindly say you might
- 14:06wanna go back and check before we even
- 14:07talk any further.
- 14:09Because you might not anymore. Right. Think could
- 14:10be sucked up inside If we completely deteriorate
- 14:12and gone. You don't know what's happened to
- 14:14them in the meantime. Right? Or maybe never
- 14:16weren't old. Maybe the right thing never had
- 14:18filters. Don't know. Especially if was the second
- 14:20hand rig. Yeah. Or a tear or rip.
- 14:23Absolutely. Yeah. Just absolutely. You on the ability.
- 14:26And you're talking just looking at the filter.
- 14:27I'll just hanging in here. And that's in
- 14:29the right. Structural strength is important because what
- 14:31happens is just because hanging here, that also
- 14:33means it'll do the same thing in the.
- 14:34We get sucked up inside.
- 14:36And that's also what happens with original Oems.
- 14:38You can see what happens even here. Yeah.
- 14:40See how like gets pulled up side, Frank.
- 14:42So,
- 14:43I'm a firm believer that all the air
- 14:44should go through the filter.
- 14:46Not around it. Why have a air filter
- 14:48for air go around it. So that structural
- 14:50strength is is huge. And, yes, to go
- 14:52back to your original point, yes, they're easily
- 14:54cleaned you can vacuum them right in place.
- 14:56They are not gonna become a hundred percent
- 14:58clean, but you wanna do is pull that
- 14:59cake off at I call it. They gonna
- 15:00still look like to get a little dirt
- 15:01on it because you're gonna have coloring. Okay.
- 15:03From the dirt It's not hurting anything. This
- 15:05are a true electrostatic filters. Okay? Or you
- 15:07can take them down, wash them soap and
- 15:09water. We'll let them air dry and reinstall.
- 15:11The the other nice thing I see about
- 15:13your filters is that they're blue instead of
- 15:15gray and gray is the color of the
- 15:18crap that goes up. Yeah. So you can
- 15:20see that.
- 15:21To build up in in your blue filters.
- 15:23Correct. Yep. Yep. Yeah. Adam, you can definitely
- 15:25see that a little easier, which helps offer
- 15:27a visual, absolutely.
- 15:28The also, the most important thing that this
- 15:30is is in what... And people ask to
- 15:32tell how long did they last.
- 15:33I say it our lifetime filter.
- 15:35And there's no reason why you can't get
- 15:3720 years out of that filter.
- 15:38Yeah. I... So I've had your filters and
- 15:40your Rv science in my Rv for 2
- 15:43years.
- 15:43I have washed it and cleaned it out
- 15:45this... Both both ways. Sometimes I just take
- 15:48a vacuum to it. Right. And if I
- 15:49feel like maybe I'm in, Arizona and
- 15:52incredibly dusty. Sometimes I'll pull the thing down
- 15:54and actually rinse it, let it dry. So
- 15:56I've done both ways. Both ways are incredibly
- 15:58easy. Right. Right. And I'm still 2 years
- 16:01in with my original filter that that I
- 16:03got from you at the last Fm fpga
- 16:05show here in Tucson zone. Right. Exactly. Is.
- 16:08So, you know, anything you could make maintenance
- 16:10easier
- 16:11and more convenient for somebody. They're actually have
- 16:13it prone to probably do it. Yeah. And
- 16:16You know, the there's nothing in these rigs
- 16:17that's oversized.
- 16:19Now some people played a price tag is,
- 16:20but, you know, that's in a whole subject.
- 16:22But, you know, so your Ac, has to
- 16:24work really hard to do the job that
- 16:26is designed to do. Right. So we need
- 16:28to give it the efficiency and the airflow
- 16:29that it deserves so we can do its
- 16:31job. If he can't, it's just not gonna
- 16:33give you... You're not gonna be happy with
- 16:35the performance. Mh. And air airflow is a
- 16:37major thing. And you mentioned earlier, the Uv
- 16:40and Ozone stuff And
- 16:43I think there's something in your covers
- 16:46that protect it from yellow in that Uv.
- 16:49That is correct. So
- 16:52the cover that's exposed,
- 16:54so to open up the box here take
- 16:55a peek here once. And for anybody listing,
- 16:58I'll have plenty of photos in the show
- 17:00notes you can always refer back to the
- 17:01show notes to see all these items that
- 17:03we're talking about as well. So the white
- 17:05cover, this is the part it's exposed that
- 17:07covers everything up and we're done. So it's
- 17:09it's it's it is white. Exactly. And we
- 17:12do actually use it a we call virgin
- 17:13plastic. So there's no fillers the plastic stuff
- 17:15like that. I can drop this on a
- 17:16ground. It's still gonna be in 1 piece.
- 17:18Okay. And that's that's something that
- 17:21I I learned my self when I went
- 17:22to start doing the plastic injection molding and
- 17:24stuff like that. Said, how much fillers do
- 17:26you want in your plastic? Is it, why
- 17:27do I want fillers? What's the cost factor?
- 17:29Yeah. You know? And do you want the
- 17:31last 2 years? You want the last 20
- 17:33years?
- 17:34Plus why Prefer the 20 year method? Well,
- 17:36then you don't want any fillers. Because that
- 17:37that... You know, it's what happens. Things very
- 17:39breaking. It's brittle,
- 17:40because you have, you know, in inadequate structure
- 17:42there. Gotcha. But, yes, I put a uv
- 17:45protectant in my wife, So it stays white
- 17:47for a long time.
- 17:48And, I think that's important.
- 17:50You know? And another question I'd get all
- 17:52the time, let's stacy all the time once
- 17:54in a while. They have blackout edition coaches
- 17:56out there on Rv not Right? Where everything
- 17:57is no longer white it's black inside.
- 18:00And they said, how come I don't make
- 18:01a black 1.
- 18:03Well, unfortunately, it's only about 2 percent or
- 18:04maybe 1 percent of people have a black
- 18:06of addition. Yeah. So I just I just
- 18:08not gonna make a black system.
- 18:10But they can take this cover, wipe it
- 18:12down with alcohol, let it dry and spray
- 18:14it with
- 18:16Abs, black paint or whatever you get the
- 18:18hardware store. So for 6 bucks, they can
- 18:20paint than color already want. So it's paint.
- 18:21Yes. Absolutely. Because it is virgin plastic. Okay.
- 18:24I got people at airbrush them, you 1
- 18:25guy airbrush wood grain finish on it. Nice.
- 18:27When guy I did a Harley local on
- 18:28on it. Oh,
- 18:30once you on, you can do what you
- 18:31like with it. Yeah. I'll say after 2
- 18:33years mine, still looks brand new. I've never
- 18:35thought about painting it, but Right. My coach
- 18:36is kinda light in color, and I don't
- 18:38really
- 18:39tend to walk around looking up. Okay?
- 18:43You're not sleeping oriented.
- 18:46That's a good time.
- 18:47That's a good thing. You know? And, you
- 18:50know, going back to to filters here and
- 18:52it's This is 1 thing that's
- 18:54really unique about my my Rv sensor design
- 18:57is I actually put these filters out of
- 18:58frame and are screwed into place. Yep. And
- 19:01I think, again, as we talked about that
- 19:02earlier, how important it is for me to
- 19:04to see Air go through the filter not
- 19:05around it. Mh. And having that a physical
- 19:08attachment, I think is is a huge advantage.
- 19:10You know,
- 19:11it's nice say you take that extra step
- 19:13actually, to do that because I'm sure this
- 19:15is
- 19:16probably a lot. It's very labor intensive actually
- 19:18you to build that filter. Could really it
- 19:19is. It really is. And, you know, and
- 19:21actually, a price it
- 19:23relatively
- 19:24inexpensive, 35 dollars for spear filter. Okay. Okay.
- 19:27You know, typically, when you have a dome
- 19:28domestic Ac unit or even here where these
- 19:31grill break and the filter, you're looking at
- 19:33and it was 35 to 40 dollars hours
- 19:34I replaced that. And
- 19:36you might get a year out of it,
- 19:37you know, out of the grill itself, filter
- 19:39again, every 3 months you throw it away.
- 19:40So when you look at the cost of
- 19:42my Ac Sounds or kits at 209 dollars,
- 19:45and you have a 35 dollar filter in
- 19:46there, and it lasts a lifetime. The product
- 19:48does pay for itself just in refill replacement.
- 19:51So there is an Roi.
- 19:54Okay? Now do people keep the rigs for
- 19:566 years? I... You know, that some do,
- 19:57some don't.
- 19:59But you're gonna make your air conditioner a
- 20:00lot more efficient. You're actually gonna maximize the
- 20:03efficiency of that air conditioner. K? It's gonna
- 20:05it's gonna it's gonna draw less amps You
- 20:07know, it's not working as hard. It's gonna
- 20:08cool properly. You can get to air full
- 20:10properly. The 1 of the comments that I
- 20:12get on my silence is is and a,
- 20:15you know, customers come back to me, Daryl.
- 20:17I don't understand this. Since it's she's usually
- 20:18in a Southern states, it's not in Arizona
- 20:20here because there's no humidity in air. Right.
- 20:22Per s.
- 20:23But
- 20:24Explain to me what happens here. I used
- 20:25to keep my thermostat set at 70 degrees,
- 20:28and I'd be kinda warming and stuffy in
- 20:30the coach. Not keep at 73 and 74
- 20:33were cold in the Rv.
- 20:35Well, what does that mean? Well, that means
- 20:36we're actually pulling all humidity out of the
- 20:37air. Right. You know? And that's 1 of
- 20:40the the hard factors or hard things to
- 20:42do for an air conditioners pull humidity up,
- 20:43but it as a cold past step 1
- 20:45before I can get to step 2, reduce
- 20:46temperature.
- 20:47So that just tells you how much more
- 20:49efficient we actually make that air conditioner. Yeah.
- 20:51That's great. Is all of your pricing like
- 20:54the 02:09
- 20:55that you said. Correct. Regardless of the brand
- 20:58of unit you had is correct. Course it's
- 21:002 and I will keep it simple. Okay.
- 21:02That's great. And same thing the filter replacement
- 21:04filters are 35 dollars replacement filters. And and
- 21:06I shouldn't say for replacements. Actually, I call
- 21:07it more a spare filter. Why do I
- 21:09called a sp filter. Because you shouldn't have
- 21:11to replace it. You shouldn't have to replace
- 21:12it exactly right. But there are people that
- 21:14have allergies. And there's those 3 weeks of
- 21:16a year or they might wanna wash them
- 21:18every day or every other day.
- 21:20Go right ahead and do it that have
- 21:21a spare filter on the shelf that's dry,
- 21:23ready to go and just do a swap.
- 21:25You do not wanna use any filter wet.
- 21:27A wet filter is useless.
- 21:29Okay. And gong to these. What size were
- 21:32these? Those are 5 and a quarter inch.
- 21:33And these are for a fully duct. So
- 21:35when looking at... If if somebody is walking
- 21:37around looking up. Yes. In their coach, and
- 21:40they see all these poles, and they might
- 21:42be thinking I need 1 of these for
- 21:44every single 1 of those holes. Sometimes they
- 21:46think that which is which is not the
- 21:47correct answer. Right? Because we have an air
- 21:49intake side, we have a supply side. And
- 21:51he said well, what's the difference? Air intake
- 21:52the air is actually sucking up into the
- 21:54ceiling.
- 21:55Supply said air is coming. Your conditioned to
- 21:56air coming out of it, so that should
- 21:58be cold air coming out. We only do
- 22:00this the air intake side is sucking suction
- 22:02side. Okay. Right? You don't want filters on
- 22:04your supply side. Is the easiest way for
- 22:05them to figure out maybe a piece of.
- 22:07Paper or something. You can do that too.
- 22:08Yeah that's a good idea. And see which
- 22:10ones are pulling in Which ones are blown
- 22:11out. And then once they know how many
- 22:12are pulling in that's how many filters. That's
- 22:14correct. Okay. That is correct. Alright. Yeah That's
- 22:16correct. You know, and the, you know, we
- 22:18grew a lot even now with
- 22:20the New.
- 22:21New has beautiful ceilings inside the coaches and,
- 22:24you know, saw other coaches. Do. When you
- 22:25get the wood panels, you pull them down,
- 22:27you access your filters behind there. And
- 22:30Particular has
- 22:313 of the size filter, do behind each
- 22:34wood panel. So it's basically 3 filters per
- 22:36air conditioner,
- 22:38which is good because it does give enough
- 22:39volume of air, which is a wonderful design.
- 22:42The problem is they using
- 22:44this filter up in there it's still. K?
- 22:46And they're having attached to a velcro
- 22:49Unfortunately, when you open those wood panels up
- 22:50you find sometimes these are, laying I tap
- 22:52the wood panel no longer attach,
- 22:54attached anymore.
- 22:56What I've done is I cut that size
- 22:57filter, and I put a Velcro on it,
- 22:59so it actually attaches and stays in place.
- 23:01That Velcro. Yes. I notice that. Okay. Oh,
- 23:03yeah.
- 23:04So Again, probably something that you don't necessarily
- 23:08need to do, but you take the extra
- 23:09step correct do it. Correct. That's great. Because
- 23:11if that filter laying a top that, wood
- 23:13panel not attached where it should be. Why
- 23:15have a filter? Doesn't do any good. So
- 23:17was this based off of customer feedback? Correct.
- 23:19Yeah. Okay. Yep. That's great that you actually
- 23:21listen to the assume well, You listen and
- 23:23then actually make changes it you're not just.
- 23:26Okay. Okay. That's great. Absolutely. Send them away,
- 23:28but you actually make that changes to it.
- 23:30I don't how many Rv is you you
- 23:31own. I only own 1. That's plenty for
- 23:34me. So, you know, really, my R and
- 23:36d and my development comes from my customers.
- 23:39You know, in their feedback. Yeah. And because,
- 23:40you know, you talk you go to, like,
- 23:41an Fm c rally here. I'm probably talking
- 23:43to,
- 23:44you know, 40 different models of rigs out
- 23:46there. Mean even more than that.
- 23:48And so my ears are always listening to
- 23:50today that I'm making notes and, you know,
- 23:51and and say, what my what my next
- 23:53product to be or what size filters to
- 23:55build or whatnot. So... And your instructions,
- 23:58are still easy to follow.
- 24:00Anybody that purchases 1. They take it home.
- 24:02They're they're installing it themselves, They're not going
- 24:04out to an installer or or you don't
- 24:06have an installer going out and putting in
- 24:07them in. It's something that almost anybody can
- 24:09do themselves. Yeah. It's a do yourself project
- 24:11on to silence or kits. You or some
- 24:13people are just, you know, they can't raise
- 24:15arms off the head and maybe at vertical
- 24:16there's some challenges there and of course, they're...
- 24:18They can contact a, mobile tech was... Is
- 24:20a good... A good way to go. Because
- 24:22they come out to your rig, Fix it,
- 24:23Take care of it, install it and you're
- 24:25on your way. Yes, and you're are dealers
- 24:26out there that that stock my product also.
- 24:28We are through distributors also. So there's is
- 24:31avenues there if you're at a a camping
- 24:32world or whatever, passport for, nailed, they'll get
- 24:35it installed for you too. So there's many
- 24:36channels you can get my product besides just
- 24:38directly through me. Okay
- 24:40but I think prefer people still, like, to
- 24:42buy through my channel, you know, it's right
- 24:44online,
- 24:45but it's it's up to you. Okay. So
- 24:47can
- 24:48Can people
- 24:49find those locations through your website? Unfortunately, I
- 24:53do not have all the dealer locations because
- 24:54it... The r through distributor. So a second
- 24:56step. Oh. So, I means Have to get
- 24:58a list from them and it's always updating.
- 24:59So it it it really becomes a challenge.
- 25:01What I don't wanna do is list somebody
- 25:03on there
- 25:05and then the customer goes there and expected
- 25:07to be in stock and they don't have
- 25:08it. K. So I try not to encourage
- 25:11that behavior if you wanna call it, you
- 25:12know, the buy shop now, get pickup up
- 25:15now type thing.
- 25:17So you do need to call and and
- 25:18see if they do have it, you know,
- 25:19at your local dealer. But if people go
- 25:21to your website, they they can order directly
- 25:24from you, and it probably ships pretty fast.
- 25:27It's all Us based stuff. Yeah. We show...
- 25:30You can come in the website We fold
- 25:32all our products are listed there. We do
- 25:34try to ship out the next day.
- 25:36So there's no reason why we I can't
- 25:37get, you know if you ship Ups.
- 25:39Pretty much within 3 4 days anywhere, You
- 25:41know,
- 25:42we... You can also get it through Usps
- 25:44too. So you just have a post office
- 25:46and do that also. Okay. And that's 1
- 25:48nice thing, you, It's is, you know, you
- 25:49can choose your shipping method,
- 25:51you know? And my 02:09, and I do
- 25:53charge your freight.
- 25:54Okay? It's it's not free freight. Mh. But
- 25:56that's the reason why I do this, you
- 25:58can choose your shipping method. Okay. But I
- 25:59did free freight. Everybody be getting it 1
- 26:01way. Right. And it might not work for
- 26:02you. So I I think, again, choices is
- 26:05With our ears, lots of different
- 26:07methods of getting your mail
- 26:09Correct. Yeah. So yeah. So having choice is
- 26:11nice in this community for Sure. And you
- 26:13can do next day or if you want
- 26:14to. You know, again, you can choose your
- 26:16your shipping method.
- 26:18For anybody listening, what is your website? My
- 26:20website is wack products dot com? So the
- 26:23next it easy? Okay.
- 26:24And can if people are confused about what
- 26:27exactly type they need
- 26:29or what filters they need, can they call?
- 26:31And
- 26:32ask questions. Yeah. Absolutely They can give me
- 26:34a call.
- 26:36But I tell you the the best thing
- 26:37to do is actually send me a picture.
- 26:40Of what your insights ceiling somebody looks like.
- 26:42That's this part right here. What you inside
- 26:44at the rig looks like. Because that's what
- 26:45matters to me.
- 26:46So you can actually send me a picture
- 26:48at info at wack products dot com. And
- 26:50I'll get that image, and I can respond
- 26:52back to that. It's sometimes easier for me
- 26:54to see what's going on and something I
- 26:55explained to me what to have.
- 26:57And, you know, the next question I get
- 26:59to too and it's this is you grab
- 27:00up a good segue for me here is
- 27:02I really don't care what's on the roof.
- 27:04Believe it or not I care what I'm
- 27:05adapting to. That's what's in the inside. So
- 27:07you could have a fur on interior mount.
- 27:09And have a domestic conditioner roof. You're gonna
- 27:11buy a a fearing kit for me. Because
- 27:14what we're adapting to.
- 27:16K And that's where, you know, some people
- 27:17say well, I have a model XYZ
- 27:19air conditioner. Unfortunately, it doesn't matter. It's the
- 27:21ceiling assembly that adapted it matters.
- 27:23The model in American share doesn't do any.
- 27:25It doesn't do me any it
- 27:27because all the other parts that you have
- 27:29adapt the insight are completely separate from the
- 27:30air itself.
- 27:32Is that common to see where you have
- 27:35a
- 27:36separate, like, a Coleman up laptop and if
- 27:38you're on... Yeah. You can sell the rigs.
- 27:40Absolutely. Really. You know, example, of carrier. Used
- 27:42to make a an air conditioner. So sometimes
- 27:45you see a domestic air conditioner... Air conditioner
- 27:46on the roof and still carrier your inside.
- 27:49You know, you don't have to buy both
- 27:51components. Why spend the extra money if you
- 27:53don't have to.
- 27:54So, yeah, you can have a a split
- 27:57product line. If you wanna call it, yes.
- 27:59It's not real common, but we run into
- 28:01it.
- 28:02You know, I then we have some customers
- 28:03out there have, you, Old Mono coaches, and
- 28:05if you know, 2000 fours, all the way
- 28:08up to 2012,
- 28:10were Monaco
- 28:12did some
- 28:13things a little unique to Monaco,
- 28:15now there's they didn't have this central ceiling
- 28:17assembly.
- 28:18They actually had a wood trim with a
- 28:20metal grate, You pulled it down, and you
- 28:23filters right there. We actually make a custom
- 28:25kit for those. Oh, wow. So we can
- 28:27do with some adapting, but again gotta need
- 28:28more pictures and need sizes,
- 28:30on, and it is all custom. So your
- 28:32cost does go up. But we do have
- 28:34a solution for some of those other avenues
- 28:35also. Again, another nice thing about being made
- 28:38in the Us is you can do that
- 28:40kind of stuff pretty easily.
- 28:42Absolutely changes. We can make changes on the
- 28:44fly, you know, we do our own... We
- 28:46have our own Cnc
- 28:47laser, Co2 laser machine. So we do all
- 28:49our cutting right in house.
- 28:51A lot is... That we use is were
- 28:53some of the machines I built myself and
- 28:54put together. Okay.
- 28:56He's exactly used to call he used to
- 28:57kinda of frankenstein tying things together. Until you
- 28:59get the concept proof, Right? Yeah. Before you
- 29:01throw 50000 dollars at something. I wanna make
- 29:03sure it works first get the concept.
- 29:05And then I have no problem spending the
- 29:06money and developing it and and tweaking it
- 29:08and again and making it more efficient and
- 29:10stuff like that. You know, when you look
- 29:11at this filter, it looks like a very
- 29:13simple filter. But, you know, we gotta cut
- 29:14out the Abs,
- 29:16we gotta cut out the filter material, and
- 29:18Okay. And then we glued it together, so
- 29:20I actually have a robot machine that we
- 29:21set this in, and it puts applies to
- 29:23glue, so it's everyone's exact. Nice. We have
- 29:25consistency for 1 filter to the other.
- 29:27You know, and that... That's 1 thing that's
- 29:29in manufacturing to me is important is consistency,
- 29:32whether you open up 1 box or 10
- 29:33boxes is the all the same. Yeah. Nice.
- 29:37Well, Daryl, I think that's all of our
- 29:38questions for you. There so anything that we
- 29:40might have missed or that you wanna add
- 29:41before we let you get back in there
- 29:43and,
- 29:44get to work. Well, you know, I appreciate
- 29:46everything you do for the Rv communities, you
- 29:48do.
- 29:49I think it's a great that, you know,
- 29:50with these and educating, just staff or people
- 29:53out there. I think education is huge. And
- 29:56I... You know, and... I'm I'm strong believer
- 29:58in getting to know your Rv better.
- 30:00Okay? And that's 1 nice thing when people
- 30:03do contact me, and I say, you know
- 30:04what If you're willing to listen, I'm willing
- 30:05to teach.
- 30:06You know? And I can either send videos
- 30:08out and how to do things. You know
- 30:10on my website I have install video and
- 30:11how of repair the inside the ceiling assemblies
- 30:13and and some of that stuff. And
- 30:16and and I think that a lot of
- 30:17our viewers have no problem doing it. They
- 30:19just need some direction. Right?
- 30:21And, you know, I give that free direction
- 30:23if you wanna say it. Right? And I
- 30:25think that makes it over your a stronger
- 30:26person. So when they do have issue the
- 30:28Rv, they can enjoy their weekend. And not
- 30:29running I'm looking for a dealer of trying
- 30:31to find parts that try to repair things.
- 30:33You know, and I I think that's great.
- 30:35And education, I think for everybody's huge. Yeah.
- 30:38Well, we appreciate you coming out here and
- 30:40educating us.
- 30:42We try.

- 30:57when using the Rv
