- 0:00Speaker 1: What's up everyone, and welcome back to the Epstein Chronicles.
- 0:04In this episode, we're gonna pick back up where we
- 0:06left off with the Sarah Ransom deposition. Ransom. I was
- 0:11accompanied back, yes, Menager by whom Ransom. I can't remember
- 0:15specifically who it was Menager? Okay, And once you got back,
- 0:20what happened? Ransom? They tried to calm me down, Menager,
- 0:23and then what happened Ransom? From that evening onwards? I
- 0:27was Jeffrey put me on the Atkins diet. Menager. Did
- 0:32you calm down Ransom? Yes? I did? Menager. Did you
- 0:35take some more medication? Ransom? No, when you're on prescription drugs,
- 0:40you only take them at specific required times. Generally, you
- 0:43don't take more than your prescription when you're on prescription drugs,
- 0:47So you don't kind of just throw tablets in your mouth.
- 0:50You kind of just take them in the morning or manager.
- 0:53I asked a bad question. Ransom, Yeah, Menager. You said
- 0:57earlier that your prescriptions were causing you to gain and wait,
- 1:00I thought you said Ransom, yes, Menager, and then you
- 1:04just said you were put on a diet after this event, correct, Ransom, yes, Menager?
- 1:09And what do you mean by you were put on
- 1:11a diet. Ransom. Jeffrey said, you either go on the
- 1:14Atkins diet or I can go, Menager, go, meaning off
- 1:18the island. Ransom, as in, don't call me back, Sarah, Menager.
- 1:23Here's the question. Did you discontinue the medication at the
- 1:27same time you went on the Atkins diet? Ransom, No, Menager.
- 1:31And how long were you on the Atkins diet? Ransom?
- 1:34Long enough for my kidneys to be incredibly painful for
- 1:38me to no longer continue on the diet because it
- 1:40was unsafe to do so. Menager. Did you seek medical
- 1:44help for that pain? Ransom? I just took painkillers, Menager.
- 1:48What painkillers did you take? Ransom? I can't remember what
- 1:52painkillers Menager, prescription or over the counter Ransom? Over the counter? Menager.
- 1:58Were you on the diet for more more than a week? Ransom, Yes,
- 2:01I was Menager more than a month Ransom, yes, Menager,
- 2:06more than two months Ransom. I can't remember, Menager. Were
- 2:09you on the diet the whole time you were in
- 2:11South Africa? Ransom yes, Menager. Did you continue on the
- 2:15diet after you returned Ransom yes, Menager. What was the
- 2:21lowest weight that you reached during that period of time
- 2:23on the diet, Ransom fifty six kilos. Menager. Had you
- 2:28ever weighed fifty six kilos in your adult life? Ransom? No,
- 2:32menager previously Ransom no, Menager. Did you speak to Jeffrey
- 2:37again about the diet? Ransom multiple times? Menager? What did
- 2:42you say? Ransom? I complained frequently about the diet that
- 2:46he had put me on because it was seriously affecting
- 2:49my physical health as well as my mental health. Yeah,
- 2:52it's a pretty hectic diet, Menager. The time you were
- 2:55on this diet, did you have a boyfriend? Ransom? Oh? Yeah, yes.
- 3:00Who was your boyfriend at the time, Ransom? Redacted? Manager? Redacted? Ransom,
- 3:07that's redacted. This is redacted manager. What's redacted's last name? Ransom?
- 3:12I think it's redacted manager. Where did he live, Ransom
- 3:17on the Upper east Side? Menager. Did you talk to
- 3:20redacted about your diet? Ransom? Yes? Manager. Were you living
- 3:24with redacted? Ransom? Not at the time, Not when I
- 3:27was in South Africa? Manager. When you returned from South Africa,
- 3:31did you move in with redacted Ransom? Yes, I did
- 3:35to get away from Jeffrey Manager. And where on the
- 3:38Upper east Side did redacted live? Ransom? I can't remember, Menager,
- 3:44walk up or elevator building, Ransom, elevator Manager. How big
- 3:49was that apartment? Ransom? It was relatively small, Menager. More
- 3:53than one bedroom? Ransom? No, it was just one bedroom.
- 3:56It was a small, tiny apartment Menager. And what did
- 4:00redacted do for a living, Ransom? He was a redacted manager?
- 4:05Where did he work, Ransom? He worked at I can't
- 4:08remember where he worked? Menager. How did you meet redacted
- 4:13Ransom at a delicatessen when I was buying food? Ransom?
- 4:17Had you started dating him before you went to South Africa? Ransom?
- 4:20I think we had gone on a couple of dates
- 4:22or something. Menager. Where had you gone on your dates? Ransom?
- 4:26I can't remember. Manager. When you were in South Africa?
- 4:30Did you have contact with redacted Ransom once or twice?
- 4:34Like three times? Well, we were sort of seeing each other,
- 4:36so I don't know how many phone times I spoke
- 4:39to him in a month. Yeah, a few times I
- 4:41spoke to redacted. Manager. When you spoke to him, did
- 4:44he ask you to move in with him when you returned, Ransom?
- 4:48I wouldn't really say that, I wouldn't really say he
- 4:50asked me to move in Menager, Okay, what would you say, Ransom?
- 4:55I asked him for me to move in with him. Manager, Okay,
- 4:58while you were in South Africa, did you receive any
- 5:01phone calls from Jeffrey Ransom? Yes? Manager. Did you want
- 5:05Jeffrey to call you there, Ransom, Yes, he was helping
- 5:08me get into fit Menager. Any other reason for you
- 5:12to have communications while you were in South Africa Ransom? Well,
- 5:15I was living in his apartment. Manager in South Africa, Ransom, No,
- 5:19in New York. Manager, So you wanted to have communication
- 5:23with Jeffrey while you were in South Africa because you
- 5:26were living in his apartment in New York. McCauley objection, Ransom,
- 5:31And he was going to He promised that he would
- 5:33pay for my education, and I was staying in his
- 5:36apartment and he was funding my life, So of course
- 5:39I would want to have contact with him, and he'd
- 5:41want to contact me. And also he was still he
- 5:44told me he would still pay for my return ticket,
- 5:46So yeah, of course I wanted him to contact me. Manager.
- 5:50Did you have an intention while you were in South
- 5:52Africa to go to Miami? Upon your return Ransom. I
- 5:55think there was a vague conversation about it, but I
- 5:58had no real intention of going to my I had
- 6:00a conversation with redacted about it. Manager, What if anything,
- 6:06were you going to do while you were in Miami? Ransom?
- 6:09I can't remember, Menager, did you have a job lined
- 6:11up in Miami? Ransom? I can't remember? Manager and internship? Ransom.
- 6:17It was something to do with Jeffrey that Jeffrey redacted,
- 6:21and it would have it would have it was through
- 6:23Jeffrey something in Miami. I can't remember what it was
- 6:27for or I don't remember it didn't. It was just
- 6:30a conversation about Miami. Manager. So no real firm plan
- 6:35to go to Miami Ransom, No, No Manager. Were you
- 6:39disappointed when you didn't go to Miami? Ransom, No, not
- 6:43at all. Manager, And you weren't planning to be a
- 6:46model in Miami for example, Ransom, No Manager. You said
- 6:50that Jeffrey had agreed to pay for your education Ransom, Yes, Manager.
- 6:56Did you apply to any other school besides Fit? No Manager,
- 7:01Do you know whether you met the qualifications to get
- 7:04into Fit? Mister Gergis objection form Ransom, Yes, Gurgis comprehensibility. Menager.
- 7:13She seemed to understand it just fine. Gurgis. I don't
- 7:15know if she did, but fine. Manager. Do you know
- 7:18how much FIT was supposed to cost per year? Ransom? No? Manager,
- 7:23did you believe it to be expensive? Ransom? All schools
- 7:26are expensive. Manager, you had previously attended Queen Margaret College?
- 7:31Is that right? Ransom? I can't remember. Manager. Did you
- 7:36apply for any financial aid for Fit? Ransom? No, Jeffrey
- 7:39was covering FIT, Menager. That's what Jeffrey told you, Ransom,
- 7:44multiple multiple times. Manager. Did Glane say anything to you
- 7:48with regards to Fit? Ransom? It was various conversations. It
- 7:52was known among everyone that I was going to FIT
- 7:55and Jeffrey everyone knew he was helping me to get
- 7:58into FIT. It was common one Manager. You described earlier
- 8:03that Glaine was helping review the application and your essay.
- 8:07Was there something else that she was doing to help you? Ransom? Well,
- 8:12she said she would, But whether she did, I have
- 8:14no idea. She said she would, whether she made calls
- 8:18I doubt because I didn't get into FIT. So Manager,
- 8:23did you ever get accepted there? Ransom? I never heard
- 8:26from anyone at FIT. Manager. You never got a response, Ransom. No. Manager.
- 8:32Did you have an email address at the time, Ransom, yes,
- 8:35I did. Manager. Do you have a copy of your
- 8:38fit application? Ransom, I think it's somewhere. I think it's
- 8:42in the email. Manager. There's an essay and then there's
- 8:45an application. Correct, Ransom, Yes, that's correct. I can find
- 8:50the essay if you want, mister Gergis, I think we've
- 8:53already produced that essay. Manager. While you were in South Africa,
- 8:58did you have any phone conversation with Golaane? Ransom? Yes? Manager,
- 9:03When was that? Ransom through various times throughout my stay
- 9:06in South Africa. Manager. What phone were you using while
- 9:10you were in South Africa? Ransom? I had a BlackBerry
- 9:14that they had given me, and they also phoned my
- 9:16parent's landline as well. Manager. Who are they Ransom, Jeffrey,
- 9:21Golaane and redacted? Manager. Did Golane speak to your parents? Ransom? Yes? Manager.
- 9:27Who did they speak to Ransom? I can't remember if
- 9:31she spoke. I can't remember. Actually, I can't remember who
- 9:34she spoke to. Menainger. How do you know that she
- 9:37spoke to your parents, Ransom, because I remember it being
- 9:41a huge thing and my family because they couldn't quite
- 9:44understand what Jeffrey and Glaine were doing paying for their
- 9:47daughter's education, and they obviously thought suspected something was going on. Manager,
- 9:53So how do you know that someone spoke to your
- 9:55parents Ransom, because my parents and I thought about it. Manager.
- 10:01Did your parents tell you that they spoke to Golaine Ransom?
- 10:04I can't remember whether it was my stepmother or my father.
- 10:08I cannot remember which one it was. Manager, What did
- 10:12your step mother or father tell you they had discussed
- 10:15with Golaane Ransom, that she had reassured them that my
- 10:19education would be paid for, and basically that you know,
- 10:22they spent a lot of time and effort reassuring my
- 10:24family they weren't abusing me, which they were, and that
- 10:28they weren't going to traffick me, which they were. So
- 10:31there you go, I had the light of my family. Manager.
- 10:35What is your stepmother's name, Ransom redacted? Manager? And do
- 10:39you have an email address or a phone number for Ransom? No?
- 10:43I don't, Gurgis objection, no current information, Sam objection as
- 10:47the outset of the deposition. Manager, are you instructing her
- 10:50or not to answer? Gurgis, I am instructing her not
- 10:53to answer. Manager, where does redacted Gurgis? And again, I'm
- 10:58offering you the opportunity to prof for a reason for
- 11:01these questions, and I Manager interrupts them. I'll tell you
- 11:06your client has signed an affid David and a complaint
- 11:08discussing this conversation. And I'm asking for contact information for
- 11:12a witness to the conversation, the person who actually supposedly
- 11:17had a phone conversation with my client. And you're telling
- 11:20me I can't follow up with those witnesses, Menager, So
- 11:23please tell me how to reach your stepmother, Ransom. I'm
- 11:27not going to offer you my family's address details. Gergis,
- 11:31you don't have to answer. Go on, Manager, you may
- 11:34come back and answer it another day. But Manager, where
- 11:37does redactid live? Ransom? She lives in Cape Town? Manager,
- 11:43we're in Cape Town, Ransom, I don't know, Menager. Have
- 11:47you been in touch with her? Ransom? Not recently? No, Manager,
- 11:51When is the last time you communicated with her? Ransom?
- 11:54A while back, Menager, more than a year, Ransom, less
- 11:57than a year. Manager. Is she still married to your father? Ransom?
- 12:02I presume so, Menager. Have you talked to him in
- 12:06the same period of time, Ransom. No. Menager, why haven't
- 12:10you talked to your family in more than a year?
- 12:12McAuley objection. This is getting into her current relationships, which
- 12:16is not relevant to the case and also can be
- 12:18used for harassment. Menager, Why haven't you talked to your
- 12:22family in a year? Ransom? Because I came forward? Menager.
- 12:26When did you come forward? Ransom October around October? Manager.
- 12:32Have you spoken to your family since October? Ransom? No. Manager.
- 12:36When was the last time you spoke to your father
- 12:39or stepmother before October? Ransom? September? Manager, And did you
- 12:44tell them not to contact you or did they tell
- 12:46you not to contact them? Ransom, Well, I didn't. I
- 12:50basically said to them, either accept me for who I
- 12:52am or we need to stop this relationship. Menager, What
- 12:57did you mean by accept you for as you are? Ransom?
- 13:01I've made a lot of poor choices, particularly Jeffrey being
- 13:04involved with Jeffrey Epstein, and they feel I've come a
- 13:07long way from that time, and they thought that they
- 13:10didn't want me going back to a time that was
- 13:12very traumatic for me. Manager. Did they tell you they
- 13:16would not be in touch with you going forward? Ransom?
- 13:19I didn't give them that option for them to tell
- 13:21me that, Menager. So you're not having a conversation with
- 13:25your father and your stepmother in a year is because
- 13:27of your choice to come forward? Ransom? That's correct, Menager.
- 13:31What about your mother, gergis objection to form? Ransom? What
- 13:35about my mother? Menager? Have you had contact with her
- 13:39in a year? Ransom? Yes? Manager. When was the last
- 13:42time you had contact with your mother? Ransom? Last week? Manager.
- 13:46When you returned to New York and moved in with redacted,
- 13:49did you talk to her adacted about Jeffrey Ransom? Yes? Manager.
- 13:54What did you tell him? Ransom? I told him that
- 13:56I was frightened. He was incredibly concerned about my weight
- 13:59loss and about the weight goal that Jeffrey and Glaine
- 14:03set for me, which was fifty two kilos. He was
- 14:06scared for me, actually, Manager, to your knowledge, did he
- 14:09contact anybody about it? Ransom? Not to my knowledge, Menager.
- 14:14What did he do about his concern to your knowledge? Ransom?
- 14:17I begged him if I could live with him, and
- 14:19he agreed, Menager. How long did you live with him? Ransom?
- 14:24It wasn't really long because I moved in with him
- 14:26after South Africa. So about a month or something, Menager,
- 14:30from the time you returned from South Africa to when
- 14:33you returned to South Africa. Ransom, Oh, yeah, No, we
- 14:36only kind of went. We only dated for briefly. It
- 14:40wasn't a serious relationship. Yes, So when I moved to
- 14:43New York, sorry, back to London, kind of our relationship
- 14:46couldn't really go anywhere, I guess, Manager, the long distance. Ransom, Yeah,
- 14:51long distance doesn't really work, so Manager, So about the
- 14:55time you moved to London is when you and he
- 14:57broke up? Ransom, that's correct, Menager. Have you had contact
- 15:01with them since then? Ransom? I had contact with them
- 15:04again in two thousand and eight. Manager. Did you come
- 15:07back to the US then? Ransom? No. Manager, did you
- 15:11not come back to the US in two thousand and eight? Ransom,
- 15:14Oh I did. Sorry for a business trip I went.
- 15:17I did a tour. Yeah, from I think it was
- 15:19Atlantic to Atlanta, then to San Francisco. Manager, which business Ransom,
- 15:26Belfair's International. It's a private company at the time that
- 15:29did private planes the interiors of private planes. Manager, one
- 15:35more time? Can you spell that? Ransom? Sorry? Bar sorry,
- 15:39b Sorry, it's getting so bad. I'm like, really bad
- 15:41at spelling. It's B. E. L. Fairs Belfair's international manager.
- 15:48You were working with them in two thousand and eight,
- 15:50Ransom briefly, Manager, And you came for a business trip Ransom, yes, Manager.
- 15:56And how long were you in the US on that occasion? Ransom, gosh,
- 16:00I can't remember. It was like a week. Manager. And
- 16:03who did you come with, Ransom my manager of business? Manager?
- 16:07And what was that person's name, Ransom redacted? Manager? What's
- 16:12the last name? Ransom? I can't remember the last name. Manager.
- 16:17So you came back to the US in two thousand
- 16:18and eight, but you did not have contact with redacted
- 16:21on that trip Ransom, No. Manager. When did you have
- 16:25contact with redacted in two thousand and eight? Ransom? He
- 16:28moved to London in two thousand and eight. Manager. Did
- 16:31you see him in London? Ransom, yes, I did. Manager.
- 16:35Where did you see him, Ransom? He came to stay
- 16:37with me in London. Manager. Did you resume your relationship
- 16:41Ransom briefly? Manager. Is that the last time that you
- 16:44had contact with them? Ransom? Yes. Manager. Was that about
- 16:49the time you became engaged to redacted? Ransom, yes, Manager, redacted?
- 16:56Ransom redacted? And I got together at the end of
- 16:59two thousand and eight. We didn't meet and then get
- 17:01engaged immediately. It was like we dated and then we
- 17:04got engaged. Manager understood. All right, folks, we're gonna wrap
- 17:08up this episode here, and then the next episode we'll
- 17:11pick up where we left off. What's up, everyone, and
- 17:14welcome back to the Epstein Chronicles. In this episode, we're
- 17:17gonna pick up where we left off with the Sarah
- 17:20Ransom deposition. Manager, was that about the time that you
- 17:26became engaged to redacted? Ransom's answer is redacted, followed by
- 17:31a redacted response by Menager, and then Ransom response again
- 17:36redacted and I got together at the end of two
- 17:38thousand and eight. We didn't meet and then get engaged immediately.
- 17:42It was like we dated and then we got engaged.
- 17:45Menager understood. In addition to discussing Jeffrey with redacted, is
- 17:49there someone else you discuss Jeffrey with in your life
- 17:52in two thousand and six or two thousand and seven? Ransom, Well,
- 17:56I discussed it with everyone. I knew. It's quite an
- 17:59amazing He's gonna make Yeah, everyone I knew knew that
- 18:02I was involved with Jeffrey Epstein. Everyone knew that I
- 18:05met him in New York, knew that I was affiliated
- 18:08with Jeffrey and Glene Maxwell Manager. More specifically, who did
- 18:13you tell about your concerns about your relationship with Jeffrey Ransom?
- 18:17My friend redacted, and there was a few other friends
- 18:21I had at the time, but I don't remember their names. Menager.
- 18:24Did you discuss it with or adacted Ransom? Yes? Menager?
- 18:28What did you tell redacted Ransom everything that Jeffrey did
- 18:31to me? I told her every single detail on how
- 18:34he abused me. Menager? How did Jeffrey abuse you? Ransom?
- 18:38There were times that I was I mean, look, I
- 18:41was intimidated. I was frightened of Jeffrey. Okay. I wanted
- 18:44to go to fit get an education, but if I
- 18:46didn't comply with Jeffrey's requests, I was scared, Okay. So
- 18:50how did he abuse me? When he had me on
- 18:53like the massage table? I had no option? So how
- 18:56did he abuse me by putting a vibrator and pushing
- 18:58it down on my clitterist for ties? That's abuse that
- 19:01was not pleasurable, that was exceptionally painful. He hurt me physically,
- 19:06and he abused me mentally both, Menager, How did he
- 19:09abuse you mentally? Ransom? Geez, Well, I think the fact
- 19:13that a physical abuse always leads to mental abuse. It's
- 19:17a fact. So you can't physically abuse someone and they
- 19:20will without a doubt. I'm sure of myself and all
- 19:23the other girls will have suffered some form of post
- 19:25traumatic stress. So in terms of how did he mentally
- 19:29abuse me? He bullied me, He went on about my weight,
- 19:32he intimidated me, He promised me things he didn't deliver.
- 19:35I mean I could go on and on, Menager. What
- 19:39things did he promise you that he never delivered? Ransom
- 19:42an education manager? And what do you know about what
- 19:45he did or didn't do to get you in education? Ransom? Well,
- 19:50I didn't go to FITS, so I presume not very much. Menager.
- 19:54Do you know why you didn't get into FIT Ransom? No, No,
- 19:57it just didn't ever materialize. Did you ever contact FIT
- 20:01to find out Ransom? During that time? Jeffrey had it
- 20:05in hand. I didn't think I needed to contact anybody
- 20:08at FIT, I mean Jeffrey. It was Jeffrey's contact in
- 20:11the first place that he was contacting, So I didn't
- 20:14contact anyone at FIT. Manager, he didn't contact them at all. Ransom, Well, no,
- 20:19because Jeffrey said that he was going to do that
- 20:21for me to get me into FIT. Manager, and how
- 20:25did you ever confirm or deny that you weren't admitted
- 20:28to FIT Ransom? I was never told, I was never
- 20:31given a letter. I didn't have anyone phone me. I
- 20:33didn't have the contact that Jeffrey had been speaking to
- 20:36about getting me in. She didn't contact me. So I'm
- 20:39presuming as an educated woman it was all hearsay because
- 20:43nothing ever materialized from that manager. Did Fit have your
- 20:47address at redacted's Ransom? Not that I recall Menager. Did
- 20:52you give Jeffrey your address at redacted's Ransom? Yes, Jeffrey
- 20:56knew where I lived. Manager, I understood you were going
- 20:59to live with redacted in order to get away from
- 21:01Jeffrey Ransom. So when so, basically, when you live in
- 21:05someone's apartment, it's a form of control. So when you
- 21:08don't comply with all their instructions all the time one
- 21:11hundred percent, it's like leverage for them to control you.
- 21:15I don't like being controlled by people, especially by someone
- 21:18like Jeffrey Epstein and Glenn Maxwell. So Jeffrey Epstein. He
- 21:22knew where I was all the time. So Manager, did
- 21:25Jeffrey come to redact his apartment? Ransom? He came around
- 21:30the Upper east Side near the apartment, Yes, he did.
- 21:33There was an occasion that Jeffrey picked me up when
- 21:36I didn't go to the mansion. Manager picked you up where? Ransom?
- 21:40I can't remember the location? Manager. Did Jeffrey live on
- 21:44the Upper east Side? Ransom? I can't remember where Jeffrey
- 21:48his exact location is. I mean, it's a nice I
- 21:51think it's near Fifth it's near Fifth Avenue. Manager. Was
- 21:55it on the upper east side? Ransom? I think? I
- 21:59don't think it was on the west side. So hang on.
- 22:02So Fifth Avenue is there is the west side that side?
- 22:05I don't know. Sorry, I'm really I'm a tourister, so
- 22:08I don't know. I don't know where Jeffrey. I don't
- 22:10know what he's got. It was near Fifth Avenue, That's
- 22:13where I know his apartment was. I'm not a New Yorker.
- 22:16So Menager, do you recall an occasion while you were
- 22:19living with redacted that Jeffrey came and picked you up? Ransom? Yes, Menager,
- 22:24somewhere on the Upper east Side Ransom. Yes, Manager, you
- 22:28don't know Ransom. No, I don't know the specific street
- 22:31name or pavement that I was standing on. No, I don't, Manager.
- 22:35Where did you go with Jeffrey when he picked you
- 22:38up on the Upper east Side? Ransom? I got in
- 22:41his car and went back to his mansion. Manager, What
- 22:44kind of car was it? Ransom? It was a I
- 22:48can't remember what the car was. Manager. Who was driving
- 22:51the car? Ransom? He wasn't driving, I can remember. I
- 22:54can't remember who was driving, Menager. Was anyone else in
- 22:58the car Ransom? Someone was driving the car, Menager? Anyone
- 23:02else Ransom? I can't remember anyone else, Menager. What was
- 23:06the purpose of going back to the mansion on that occasion? Ransom?
- 23:10I don't know. You're going to have to ask Jeffrey. Manager,
- 23:13why did you get in the car Ransom? Because I
- 23:15was frightened? Manager, What were you frightened of? Ransom? The
- 23:20fact that he had found me and wasn't supposed to
- 23:23know where I was, So I was incredibly intimidated that
- 23:26he drove up beside me and knew where I was. Menager,
- 23:29you were somewhere out on the street visible and he
- 23:32found you, Ransom. No, I was supposed to meet Jeffrey.
- 23:36I was instructed to meet Jeffrey. I failed to turn
- 23:38up to meet Jeffrey, and Jeffrey found me. Manager. Who
- 23:41instructed you to meet Jeffrey Ransom? It was one of
- 23:45the other girls. It was either redacted, redacted or redacted? Menager?
- 23:49How did they instruct you to meet Jeffrey Ransom via
- 23:52the BlackBerry that they gave me? Menager? You kept the
- 23:55BlackBerry after your return from South Africa? Ransom, Yes, I did,
- 24:00while you were living with redacted Ransom. Yes, Menager. Why
- 24:04did you keep the BlackBerry after you were living with
- 24:06redacted Ransom? Because Jeffrey and I were still in contact, Menager.
- 24:12What were you in contact about the fit application? Ransom?
- 24:16He was trying to get me a visa and he
- 24:18devised a way of me getting I don't know what
- 24:21you call it, sorry, an apprenticeship, an internship with a
- 24:24cosmetic company, yeah, a cosmetic agency, doctor's medical facility. Manager.
- 24:29When you came back from South Africa in February of
- 24:32two thousand and seven, did you have a tourist visa? Ransom? Yes, Manager.
- 24:36So Jeffrey was trying to help you get a job
- 24:39so you could get a different kind of visa. Ransom. Yeah, well,
- 24:43you can't live in New York on a tourist visa.
- 24:45It's three months, so I don't know what it's like anymore,
- 24:49the laws. But back then, if you wanted to tour
- 24:51America you would go and fill I think it was
- 24:53ninety days, but then you would have to leave. You
- 24:56couldn't stay. And Jeffrey was trying to get me. It's
- 25:00difficult not being it's difficult actually going to university here
- 25:04if you don't have a British I don't know the system.
- 25:06I just didn't have a visa. I could go to
- 25:09Fit and this friend of his that owned a cosmetic
- 25:12surgery he had organized that I would go in and
- 25:15do an internship and that way would be a legitimate
- 25:19way for me to get a visa for me to
- 25:21stay and continue in Fit, if that makes sense. Manager,
- 25:26And what was the name of that friend, Gurgis? Do
- 25:28you need a break? Ransom? I do? Sorry, do you mind? Men?
- 25:33There was a question pending, Gurgis, She has a question pending.
- 25:36You can answer that then and we'll go ahead. What
- 25:39was the name of that friend the witness? I don't
- 25:41know it was a man. Manager. Did you end up
- 25:45working in that internship? Ransom? No, Manager, did you ever
- 25:49meet with that man? Ransom? Yes? Manager. Why didn't you
- 25:52end up working in that internship with that man? Ransom?
- 25:56I wanted to return home, Gurgis? Can we take that break? Menager? Yes,
- 26:02So before the question start again, mister Gergis has a
- 26:05comment before you proceed with your questions, Counsel, I raise
- 26:09an objection to providing redacted and redacted email address before
- 26:13then you proffered a reason for it. I accept your
- 26:15profit and will provide you with that email address now,
- 26:18or have the witness do it. Menager, Okay, the witness,
- 26:23it's redacted. Off the record. Conversations held. Then Gurgis once
- 26:27again pipes in and let the record reflect. She's taking
- 26:30it down from a Google search on the web. She
- 26:33believes that's right. Manager. What's your father's email address? Ransom?
- 26:38I don't remember it offhand? Menager, can you mark this
- 26:42defendant's Exhibit three? Affidavid was marked for identification? Manager? Do
- 26:47you recognize the document we marked as defendants exhibit three? Ransom? Yes? Manager?
- 26:52What is it? Ransom? My Affidavid? Manager who wrote this
- 26:56Avid David Ransom. Well, I didn't type it up, but
- 27:00I gave the Avid David Manager. So you spoke words
- 27:03to someone else and they typed it Ransom, Yes, Manager.
- 27:06Who was that person, Ransom, I don't know, Manager. Who
- 27:10was the person you gave the words to, Gurgis? Wasn't
- 27:14an attorney? Ransom? Yes? Manager? Which attorney Gurgis? I think
- 27:19I'm going to object to that. I don't know that
- 27:21it matters which attorney or which attorney provided the work
- 27:24or did specific tasks. I think that's privileged. Manager. Did
- 27:28you communicate the words to an attorney with the intent
- 27:31that they would put it into an affid David that
- 27:33you would share publicly? Ransom, I don't know that the
- 27:36Avid David is public, but to share with you, with you, guys, manager,
- 27:40with a third party Ransom, Yeah, with a third party manager.
- 27:44And you knew that at the time you were giving
- 27:46the words to the person to type two Ransom, Yeah,
- 27:50to give it to you, guys, manager. So who was
- 27:53the person that you were speaking to that took down
- 27:55the words for your apid David Ransom? Sorry, it was
- 27:58Stan and Brad. And when did you have that conversation
- 28:02with them. Ransom. I think it was either. I think
- 28:05it was in January Menager, last month Ransom, oh god,
- 28:08last month, yeah, last month Menager in person Ransom in person? Menager.
- 28:14Did they give you multiple drafts of this document? Ransom?
- 28:17I wouldn't say multiple, but I made sure that it
- 28:20was accurate. Mener. Did you make any changes to the
- 28:23document you were originally presented with? Ransom no, Menager. The
- 28:28first document that you were presented with, is that the
- 28:31one that you signed? Ransom, yes, menager, and nothing has
- 28:35changed after you reviewed it? Ransom, no, Menager. Is that
- 28:39your signature on the second page? Ransom, yes, that's my signature, menager.
- 28:44And the last page is that the official in Spain
- 28:47who witnessed your signature? Ransom? Yes. Manager. Did you sign
- 28:51page two in front of the person indicated on page three?
- 28:55Ransom yes. Manager. Did you present that person with some
- 28:58form of identification? Ransom yes, Menager. What form of identification
- 29:03did you present? Ransom my passport? Menager? Which passport? Ransom?
- 29:09My British passport? Menager? Is that a current British passport? Ransom, yes, Menager.
- 29:15Did you have a British passport that expired in twenty fourteen, Ransom. Yeah,
- 29:19I can't remember when it expired, but I think you
- 29:22guys have a copy as well as my passport. I
- 29:25don't remember the exact date that it expired, Menager. Not
- 29:28the South African passport that was stolen, Ransom. The South
- 29:32African passport is completely irrelevant. You can't travel on a
- 29:35South African passport. It's you can't go into any other
- 29:38country bar South Africa other than South Africa on a passport.
- 29:42So I've hardly used my South Africa passport at all, Menager.
- 29:46I'm just asking which passport you showed to the person
- 29:50on page three, Ransom. Sorry, my British passport, Menager. And
- 29:54it's a British passport that's current, Ransom, Yes, Gurgis asked
- 29:58an answered Menager, just a bit of a detour, Can
- 30:02I have you take a look at paragraph one, Ransom, Yep, Manager,
- 30:06is paragraph one true Ransom. I am currently over the
- 30:09age of eighteen paragraph one, yes, Manager, And you presently
- 30:13reside in Spain, Ransom, yes, Manager. Paragraph two U state.
- 30:18In the late summer of two thousand and six, when
- 30:20I was twenty two years old and living in New York,
- 30:23I was introduced to Jeffrey Epstein by a girl I
- 30:26had met named redacted? Is that true? Ransom? Yes? Menager?
- 30:30Was it the summer of two thousand and six when
- 30:32you met Ransom? Okay? Well it was summer, end of
- 30:35summer going into fall, Menager. So when was it do
- 30:39you think ransom? It was fall two thousand and six,
- 30:42It was just after the summer, Menager. So it was
- 30:44the fall of two thousand and six when you met
- 30:46redacted Ransom? Well, it was the end of the summer,
- 30:50So I don't know fall or in the summer, or
- 30:52it was the end of the summer fall, Menager, sometime
- 30:55after you came to the US. Ransom? Yeah, Menager. And
- 30:59do you know when in the fall of two thousand
- 31:01and six you meant redacted ransom? What you mean the
- 31:04end of summer? Fall? Slash? If you really want to go,
- 31:07can you define like geography lessons? Show? Should we do
- 31:11geography lessons? McAuley, All right, hang on a second, Ransom?
- 31:16Maybe summer, fall, winter? What are your dates here in
- 31:19New York? Pottinger, can we get this clear? Pagliuka? Would
- 31:23you just stop it? Pottinger? Do you mind? Do you mind? Pagliuka?
- 31:27I mind you talking, Pottinger, do you mind? Menager? If
- 31:31you want to enter an objection, please do so. Pottinger.
- 31:34Object Menager, what's the basis for your objection, mister Pottinger. Pottinger,
- 31:40define summer or fall, Meninger. I will do whatever I
- 31:43want during my deposition. Pottinger, define summer or fall, Menager.
- 31:49I don't have to define anything, Pottinger to find summer
- 31:52or fall for the client, Menainger. All right, Pottinger, and
- 31:56then we will answer the she will be the able
- 31:58to answer the question. Meninger. I'm gonna go off record
- 32:01until you calm down. So obviously they had a nice
- 32:03little testy exchange here, Menager, go back on the record.
- 32:09Approximately what month and day did you meet redacted Ransom?
- 32:13As I said earlier, I can't remember what day, but
- 32:16it was the end of summer fall in the United States.
- 32:18I can't remember what specific date and time that it was, Menager.
- 32:23What month any idea Ransom? It was September, Menager. When
- 32:27did you meet Jeffrey Epstein Ransom shortly after I met redacted? Menager?
- 32:32Was that also in September? Ransom? I guess, So I
- 32:35don't know the exact date I arrived. So if someone
- 32:37can provide me with my passport so I can see
- 32:40my entry date, maybe that would help. So I met redacted.
- 32:43If you look at the date that I arrived in
- 32:45New York on my passport, I think it's very clear
- 32:48when I arrived. You've got the evidence. I'm sure. So
- 32:50two weeks after the date that is on my passport
- 32:53that I arrived in New York, I met redacted. Very
- 32:56soon after I met redacted, I was introduced to Jeffrey Epstein.
- 33:01It was in and around September, and I can't specifically
- 33:04remember the date, time, season, or whatever. All Right, we're
- 33:09going to wrap up this episode right here, and then
- 33:11the next episode will pick up where we left off.
- 33:14What's up, everyone, and welcome back to the Epstein Chronicles.
- 33:18In this episode, we're going to pick up where we
- 33:20left off with the Sarah Ransom deposition. So let's get
- 33:25back to it. Meninger, did you show your passport to
- 33:29mister Pottinger and mister Edwards when you were standing there
- 33:32at the consulate having the affidavid notarized Ransom. I showed
- 33:37my current passport when I had this signed menager, not
- 33:41the passport that contained dates from two thousand and six. Ransom,
- 33:45my current valid passport. You can only show a valid passport, Menager.
- 33:50Fair enough, so you believe that your lawyers have produced
- 33:53your current valid passport to me, Ransom. No. Mccauleay objection, Ransom,
- 33:59they have not forced my current passport. They produced my
- 34:02passport during that timeframe, which clearly shows that when I
- 34:05entered the United States, Menager. So when your lawyers wrote
- 34:09a copy of non party Sarah, Ransom's current passport is
- 34:13attached here too as Ransom one fifty seven to one
- 34:16sixty eight, which should be treated as confidential pursuant of
- 34:20the party's protective order. Do you believe that to be
- 34:23an accurate statement? McCauley objection. You're asking her legal information
- 34:28that she's not privy to. Manager. There was nothing legal
- 34:31about the comment, Ransom. Sorry, that makes no sense to me.
- 34:35Please can you repeat the question, Manager, I'll do it
- 34:39this way. Defendants Exhibit number four. Defendant Exhibit four Ransom
- 34:45zero zero one six' eight was marked four. Identification, manager
- 34:50take a look at Defendants exhibit. Four. Ransom, Okay, manager
- 34:55just take a look at. It do you recognize? It? Ransom?
- 34:57Yeah this is my. Passport do you know which passport this? Is,
- 35:02ransom this is my old, Passport, Menager so it's not
- 35:06your current. Passport is that? Correct, Ransom, no it's not
- 35:09my current passport because it. Expired let's have a look,
- 35:13here but she's interrupted By. Menager can you turn to
- 35:17the second to last, page, Sorry, ransom, yes here we, Go.
- 35:21Menager does that have a bate's, number in other, words
- 35:25your Name ransom with an underscore and then page numbers
- 35:28after that that were placed there by your. Attorneys, Ransom,
- 35:32SORRY i don't, Understand. Menager do you see at the
- 35:35bottom of that page your Name ransom underscore zero, zero,
- 35:39zero one five Eight, ransom, Yes, menager all, right and
- 35:43that's not a document that is an expired. Passport, ransom, Yes,
- 35:47menager this is not your current. Passport Mister gergiz objection,
