- 0:37Speaker 1: love lately. How many social platforms do you want to
- 0:40Speaker 1: be on? I can't even keep track of one, and
- 0:41Speaker 1: I'm like, yeah, yeah, I don't like it.
- 0:46Speaker 4: This is this is the well I I They can
- 0:49Speaker 4: turn preseason games into like variety shows, you know, you know,
- 0:52Speaker 4: the June Taylor dancers come out at a lot of
- 0:55Speaker 4: pre season stuff.
- 0:58Speaker 1: How do you feel about Dion Sanders.
- 1:00Speaker 3: Is this idea of having like the gentleman's club upstairs?
- 1:03Speaker 5: Gentlemen's club, Yeah, you know, he's sort of advocated for
- 1:06Speaker 5: a small hall break it's like a strip club.
- 1:08Speaker 1: No, No, it's for like the real Hall of Fame.
- 1:10Speaker 1: There's no touching in the champagne as.
- 1:12Speaker 5: A Patriot, you have to be all time great to
- 1:15Speaker 5: get into the Hall of Fame.
- 1:16Speaker 1: If he was like a.
- 1:17Speaker 3: Steeler, then maybe be a little bit easier for him.
- 1:20Speaker 3: So that's that's the biggest with you.
- 1:24Speaker 1: It's like, I'm with you. Second question of three, who
- 1:27Speaker 1: do you think will be our surprise? Cut? I don't
- 1:29Speaker 1: surprise if they cut mad, that would be a surprise.
- 1:33Speaker 1: This is Patriot's Unfiltered.
- 1:35Speaker 6: Presented by Toyota's official website for deals by a Toyota
- 1:39Speaker 6: dot com.
- 1:42Speaker 1: All right, welcome to Patriots Unfiltered. It is Tuesday here
- 1:45Speaker 1: at Jilles Stadium, and it's Tamara, it's Paul, it's me,
- 1:50Speaker 1: it's Matt and Nabooth. Evan and Duce are on a
- 1:53Speaker 1: plane headed for joint practices at Green Bay. So we'll
- 1:56Speaker 1: hear from them tomorrow and Thursday. But it's the three
- 1:59Speaker 1: of us, Us and Matt and the Booth holding down
- 2:02Speaker 1: the fort here to Let's Stadium on a rainy day
- 2:05Speaker 1: in Foxboro.
- 2:06Speaker 5: And as they're getting ready to get started out in
- 2:08Speaker 5: green Bay, we you know.
- 2:09Speaker 1: We have some things to talk about. Zeke, feed them,
- 2:14Speaker 1: feed them. Zekiel Elliott is now a New England Patriot.
- 2:18Speaker 1: According to reports, but I think it's official. From what
- 2:21Speaker 1: I understand, he's actually on his way to Green Bay
- 2:23Speaker 1: with the team. Yeah.
- 2:24Speaker 5: I think Ian Rappaport had that today, that the plan
- 2:28Speaker 5: was to get him here, to have him officially make
- 2:30Speaker 5: the signing, and then get him on the buses and
- 2:34Speaker 5: on the plane headed to Green Bay.
- 2:36Speaker 1: Yeah. So what do you think.
- 2:38Speaker 3: I'm a fan. I'm a fan.
- 2:40Speaker 7: I think I think it'd be different. So if we
- 2:42Speaker 7: didn't have Ramandre and we didn't have Damien and like
- 2:44Speaker 7: we were getting him to be like the guy, then
- 2:47Speaker 7: I'd probably be like, yeah, yeah, But I think to
- 2:50Speaker 7: compliment Ramondre, I think this is a great one two
- 2:52Speaker 7: punch in the sense of Remandre is not going to
- 2:54Speaker 7: have to do all the work. Zeke is a great blocker,
- 2:56Speaker 7: and I think that can lift some of the load off.
- 2:59Speaker 1: The natural question is, is Pierre strong and David Harris
- 3:03Speaker 1: not good? Heaven Kevin Kevin? I will always that's okay.
- 3:07Speaker 5: Evidently I just called Anthony Firks or Andrew in my notes.
- 3:11Speaker 1: So what happens Harrison's strong?
- 3:14Speaker 3: I think Harrison is strong.
- 3:15Speaker 7: I think can also learn from Zeke as well, and
- 3:18Speaker 7: I think like not having the pressure be solely on
- 3:20Speaker 7: two guys who didn't get a lot of looks last year. Okay,
- 3:23Speaker 7: I think they'll be in the mix, but it won't
- 3:24Speaker 7: be all up to them to fill the shoes.
- 3:26Speaker 5: Okay, I'm in the middle. I like, I think they
- 3:29Speaker 5: needed a running back. I think they needed more depth
- 3:31Speaker 5: at that position. I don't love that it's it's Zeke,
- 3:34Speaker 5: but I'm not upset about it by any means. I
- 3:37Speaker 5: think he's He's had a terrific career. I think he's
- 3:39Speaker 5: sort of you know, on the back, well on the back.
- 3:42Speaker 1: Can he be as good as Time Montgomery was going
- 3:45Speaker 1: to be was going to be?
- 3:47Speaker 5: Because I don't think but the idea of because like
- 3:50Speaker 5: the idea of Time Montgomery in my head was a
- 3:52Speaker 5: lot better than anything we ever saw. Okay, I don't
- 3:55Speaker 5: think he can be that good. Okay, but now he was.
- 3:57Speaker 5: He was a much better player than Time Montgomery.
- 4:00Speaker 1: I mean career wise. I mean right now, like you know,
- 4:03Speaker 1: they signed Robinson, he's gone, you know, thy Montgomery coming
- 4:08Speaker 1: back from injury, he's injured again. Yeah, So, like you know,
- 4:11Speaker 1: they definitely needed the depth.
- 4:12Speaker 5: They need, They needed another player. This is an excellent signing.
- 4:15Speaker 5: They needed somebody.
- 4:16Speaker 1: Would if you had to choose between Montgomery and Elliott,
- 4:19Speaker 1: who would you choose? If healthy?
- 4:21Speaker 5: If I could rely on Montgomery Montgomery, but I can't.
- 4:25Speaker 5: So that's not a fair question. It's it's it's it's Zeke.
- 4:27Speaker 5: I feel Elliott absolutely.
- 4:29Speaker 7: I feel like both times we've seen Ty like he's
- 4:31Speaker 7: lasted like a blink, Like he hasn't lasted long enough
- 4:33Speaker 7: for us to even like say.
- 4:35Speaker 5: I like, that's why I say the idea of time Montgomery,
- 4:38Speaker 5: I'm more intrigued with that, But that's not reality.
- 4:41Speaker 1: They needed somebody, So the answer to me is is Elliott.
- 4:44Speaker 1: It has to be. So they needed Elliott, And to.
- 4:47Speaker 5: Me, I wondry about what it says what they think
- 4:49Speaker 5: of Paris and Strong, Yeah, because I think if they
- 4:52Speaker 5: were really convinced on those guys, then yeah, because they
- 4:56Speaker 5: also signed a guy named c. J. Marrable who was
- 4:59Speaker 5: obviously trying to make his way in the NFL. But
- 5:03Speaker 5: that kind of guy JJ Taylor. You know, you could
- 5:06Speaker 5: have that guy as extra depth. But clearly they felt
- 5:10Speaker 5: like they needed a legitimate number two guy behind Stevenson
- 5:14Speaker 5: because they weren't convinced that Strong or Harris could do that.
- 5:17Speaker 1: In my opinion, and where is the Jets.
- 5:20Speaker 5: The Jets are going to do the same with Dalvin Cook,
- 5:22Speaker 5: and they also just activated or they plan to activate
- 5:25Speaker 5: today Breeze Hall off of Pup, so they'll have a
- 5:29Speaker 5: one two punch as well. You know me and running
- 5:34Speaker 5: backs speaking a lot of money for running backs.
- 5:37Speaker 1: I saw that first episode of Hard Knocks. The Jets
- 5:40Speaker 1: are going to be either real good this year or
- 5:42Speaker 1: they're going to just be terrible. So that team can
- 5:45Speaker 1: I just ask why and they just oh that I
- 5:48Speaker 1: hate them, you know the show, Like the show does
- 5:52Speaker 1: them no favors because it's all like I just made.
- 5:56Speaker 5: Paul almost snarffed diet PEPSI I hate.
- 6:00Speaker 1: No, it's just the show makes them all like, oh,
- 6:03Speaker 1: we're the best. Oh that's our quarterback. Oh look at him,
- 6:06Speaker 1: he's so fast.
- 6:07Speaker 5: The defensive coordinator clips that I heard that guys what
- 6:09Speaker 5: a tool.
- 6:10Speaker 1: But even Salah on the sideline during the preseason game
- 6:13Speaker 1: talking about one of the linebackers like he's so fast. Oh,
- 6:17Speaker 1: I love It's so it's like it it reminds me
- 6:20Speaker 1: of when Yeah, it reminds me of when Rex Ryan
- 6:23Speaker 1: was was on Hard Knocks with the Jets and everybody.
- 6:27Speaker 1: You know, everybody was going to be great and this
- 6:29Speaker 1: is good. You know, it's like you know it except
- 6:32Speaker 1: for the quarterback. But you just you know, you're setting
- 6:35Speaker 1: yourself up to look bad. You know, the way they're
- 6:37Speaker 1: acting on that show, and it's unbelievable.
- 6:43Speaker 3: Do you think someone told them to do that?
- 6:44Speaker 1: Like it seems like I think they're mugging for they
- 6:47Speaker 1: have nothing. They're immature, they're immature as a team, and
- 6:50Speaker 1: they're mugging for the camera ties Like I don't care
- 6:53Speaker 1: about any of that.
- 6:54Speaker 5: Like I think they have nothing. No one wanted to
- 6:56Speaker 5: do it. No one wanted to do the show. The
- 6:58Speaker 5: Jets kicked it.
- 7:00Speaker 1: They don't want to do it either.
- 7:02Speaker 5: And now all they really have is they didn't get
- 7:06Speaker 5: a chance to have cameras.
- 7:08Speaker 1: All off season like they always do. It's all they
- 7:10Speaker 1: have is Aaron Rodgers.
- 7:12Speaker 5: So and I've heard a lot of people say it
- 7:15Speaker 5: really is nauseating how they deify Aaron Rodgers.
- 7:19Speaker 1: And look, you guys know what I feel about that.
- 7:22Speaker 1: Aaron Rodgers.
- 7:22Speaker 5: I think he is a remarkably talented quarterback who I
- 7:26Speaker 5: think has never gotten what he should have out of
- 7:29Speaker 5: his He hasn't won as much as he should have.
- 7:32Speaker 1: Right right.
- 7:33Speaker 5: Oh and I told you back in twenty ten that
- 7:35Speaker 5: I thought he was a douche, but well before it
- 7:38Speaker 5: was it was popular to do that.
- 7:40Speaker 1: I didn't like him. But if Bill Belichick was coaching
- 7:42Speaker 1: that team, he obviously recognizes the talent of Aaron Rodgers,
- 7:46Speaker 1: but he wouldn't allow on Hard Knocks for every one
- 7:49Speaker 1: of his players to be filmed. Going up to Aaron said,
- 7:52Speaker 1: I'm so glad you're on our team. I really watched you.
- 7:56Speaker 1: It's unbelievable. But you don't know what they went through.
- 7:59Speaker 5: Man, you don't know like how bad they were, like
- 8:04Speaker 5: when they had all of that talent.
- 8:06Speaker 1: Yeah, and I know this guy just kept costing them,
- 8:09Speaker 1: But I still I would have I would understand the
- 8:12Speaker 1: players feeling that way, but I wouldn't allow it on camera. Yeah,
- 8:16Speaker 1: the only thing to see. I don't care.
- 8:17Speaker 5: Like, if you have to do it, you have to
- 8:19Speaker 5: do it. They have to put something on camera. But
- 8:21Speaker 5: to me, I've heard your story from a lot of people,
- 8:25Speaker 5: Like I hear it, I see it on Twitter. I've
- 8:27Speaker 5: seen I've heard it on the radio. I had a
- 8:29Speaker 5: conversation this morning before the team left with some with
- 8:32Speaker 5: no socks. Same thing that you said. They're either going
- 8:35Speaker 5: to be terrible or great. I don't think it's gonna
- 8:37Speaker 5: have anything to do. If they're terrible, it's gonna because
- 8:40Speaker 5: Aaron Rodgers can't play anymore and he didn't commit himself
- 8:43Speaker 5: when he's not ready to play. If he's committed and
- 8:45Speaker 5: ready to play and he can play the way he
- 8:47Speaker 5: did two years ago, there's no way that anything they
- 8:50Speaker 5: did on hard knocks is going to cost them wins.
- 8:52Speaker 1: No, but hard knocks is telling me what type of
- 8:55Speaker 1: team they are and what type of person that I'm
- 8:58Speaker 1: already I'm telling you that doesn't or if they play well,
- 9:01Speaker 1: but right, No, you're right, I agree. But if they
- 9:04Speaker 1: don't play well, it implodes.
- 9:06Speaker 5: That's and if they don't because it's going to be
- 9:08Speaker 5: because their quarterback is not ready to carry the team.
- 9:11Speaker 1: It could be a number of reasons, injuries or whatever.
- 9:13Speaker 1: But I don't think they can hand death. I don't
- 9:16Speaker 1: think they can handle failure on that team, or they
- 9:19Speaker 1: can't handle the downs. They're too they're too much on
- 9:22Speaker 1: an emotional roller coaster. You know, it's unbelievable.
- 9:27Speaker 5: It's gonna be one of those things. If they have
- 9:28Speaker 5: a bad year, you're gonna say it's because of hard knocks,
- 9:30Speaker 5: and I'll say it's because Aaron Rodgers.
- 9:33Speaker 1: I'm gonna say it's because of what I learned about
- 9:35Speaker 1: who they are. Yeah.
- 9:36Speaker 5: No, but you'll say it's that reason. I'll say it's
- 9:39Speaker 5: because Aaron Rodgers continued to play like he did last.
- 9:41Speaker 1: Year when he sucked.
- 9:42Speaker 5: All right, And if he sucks again this year, the
- 9:44Speaker 5: Jets won't be any better than they were a last year.
- 9:45Speaker 1: You can't blame it on the supporting cast because they're loaded.
- 9:48Speaker 5: That's what I'm saying. If he but if he doesn't
- 9:50Speaker 5: play well, they'll go seven and ten again like they
- 9:52Speaker 5: did last year.
- 9:53Speaker 1: All right. Anyway, that's that's the Jets. You hate Jets.
- 9:56Speaker 1: That was the greatest line ever. I hate them. Oh God,
- 9:59Speaker 1: such passion. Oh it's just I mean, I know, if
- 10:04Speaker 1: we're terrible this year, there's a chance that they might
- 10:07Speaker 1: force us to be on that show next year. Right,
- 10:09Speaker 1: you don't make the playoffs like two years in a row,
- 10:12Speaker 1: you're eligibis the way you could get out of that?
- 10:14Speaker 1: Oh I know, but make a coaching chat. That's that's huge. Yeah, yeah, yeah, we.
- 10:21Speaker 3: Don't imagine that show being here.
- 10:23Speaker 1: I can't either. Yeah, Freddie will be mugging for the camera.
- 10:26Speaker 1: I mean, if it was up to the team, we
- 10:28Speaker 1: wouldn't be.
- 10:30Speaker 5: The stand ups. But I'm going to handle it this week.
- 10:32Speaker 1: You know, we wouldn't be here if it's up to football,
- 10:35Speaker 1: So let alone hard knocks anyway, what else?
- 10:39Speaker 5: So you got the the Zeke thing is obviously the
- 10:41Speaker 5: big news, but unfortunately there's there's negative news too. Mikeah
- 10:45Speaker 5: SICKI got banged up at practice yesterday. Yeah. Ian Rappaport
- 10:48Speaker 5: called it a slightly dislocated childern I like the word
- 10:51Speaker 5: slightly there.
- 10:52Speaker 1: Yeah, the way they were supporting his arm, it was
- 10:55Speaker 1: either a broken bone or a separated shoulder. So they
- 10:58Speaker 1: say it's a separated show, which.
- 11:00Speaker 5: Its dislocated, which is more painful more, it's worse it
- 11:04Speaker 5: came out of the socket.
- 11:05Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah.
- 11:07Speaker 5: And he says there's some optimism that he could could
- 11:10Speaker 5: be ready for week one, which is unfortunate because I
- 11:13Speaker 5: do think the last couple of practices he looks like
- 11:15Speaker 5: he's getting more comfortable in the offense.
- 11:19Speaker 1: And you know that.
- 11:21Speaker 5: That's that's four big practices with the Packers and the
- 11:24Speaker 5: Titans that he misses.
- 11:25Speaker 1: So that's not not good timing, not not not what
- 11:28Speaker 1: we're looking for, not what else?
- 11:31Speaker 3: Mm huh. Jack Jones on Friday.
- 11:36Speaker 1: But Jack Jones on Friday has his court date.
- 11:40Speaker 5: And we're hoping to find out. August fifteenth is the
- 11:43Speaker 5: date that that Coaches Contributor category is supposed to make
- 11:46Speaker 5: their final nomination for the Hall of Fame, which Patriots
- 11:50Speaker 5: have two people, Robert Kraft and Buck o' kilroy. We're
- 11:55Speaker 5: among the twelve semi finalists. So yeah, we'll see if
- 11:58Speaker 5: we get any news on.
- 11:59Speaker 3: That, know, if Jack travel.
- 12:04Speaker 1: If we do, we're not allowed a good question. Yeah,
- 12:06Speaker 1: it's a good question. We wouldn't be allowed to say
- 12:08Speaker 1: we can't, you know, because that would be you know,
- 12:12Speaker 1: but that is a really good question. Will he go?
- 12:15Speaker 5: Is it something he can do? Does he have to
- 12:16Speaker 5: appear in court on Friday?
- 12:18Speaker 1: I don't know. Something you can do via zoom, I
- 12:20Speaker 1: don't know. I don't know. Friday will be an off
- 12:22Speaker 1: day for the team. Well, not not an off day,
- 12:28Speaker 1: I misspoked. They'll have a walk through before the game.
- 12:31Speaker 5: They won't actually have a practice with Green Bay necessarily.
- 12:35Speaker 3: Also, can we speaking of game, can we petition eight
- 12:38Speaker 3: pm Saturday preseason games.
- 12:41Speaker 1: Can we petition to eliminate no night? Yes? I mean yeah,
- 12:45Speaker 1: make all the games in the afternoon on Wednesday.
- 12:48Speaker 5: You know, well, I don't really understand why, Like I
- 12:52Speaker 5: think Thursday night in the summer is a perfect night
- 12:55Speaker 5: for a preseason game. Like people take Fridays off of
- 12:58Speaker 5: work all the time, get you, you know, in the summer. Yeah, Like,
- 13:02Speaker 5: I don't understand. I think all games should be on Thursday.
- 13:04Speaker 1: On a Saturday. That's typical Green Bay thing.
- 13:06Speaker 5: If you're playing at Saturday, the least you can do
- 13:08Speaker 5: is play at like one o'clock.
- 13:10Speaker 3: Noah, eight.
- 13:11Speaker 1: I'm like, yeah, that's.
- 13:13Speaker 5: Like I thought the Bills had a I guess they
- 13:15Speaker 5: had some like kids. It was a kid's day for
- 13:17Speaker 5: their first game in Buffalo. It was like at one
- 13:20Speaker 5: o'clock or twelve o'clock on a Saturday, and it was
- 13:23Speaker 5: like a million kids in the stands and they were
- 13:25Speaker 5: signing autographs and stuff, kind of like our in stadium practice. Yeah,
- 13:28Speaker 5: it looked like almost only it was their preseason game. Like,
- 13:31Speaker 5: if you're going to do it on Saturday, that's what
- 13:33Speaker 5: you do eight o'clock. I totally agree with tomorrow like that.
- 13:37Speaker 1: That's so ridiculous on Saturday.
- 13:40Speaker 5: So we'll go what will we do, Matt five thirty
- 13:44Speaker 5: to seven thirty pregame social Yeah, yeah, five thirty to
- 13:47Speaker 5: seven thirty Saturday.
- 13:48Speaker 1: Yeah, catch us a lot. Yeah, so that's a big one.
- 13:52Speaker 1: We got the broadcast with the main crew, so see
- 13:56Speaker 1: Zone and Paul. And then we've got the twin cast again,
- 13:59Speaker 1: which I want to people in New England know that
- 14:02Speaker 1: aside from Patriot dot com at WBZ dot com, this
- 14:05Speaker 1: one will also be on w SBK thirty eight correct
- 14:09Speaker 1: in the Boston area.
- 14:10Speaker 5: So a nice commercial for that promoting it. Yes, say well,
- 14:13Speaker 5: I was getting ready to watch my programs.
- 14:14Speaker 1: Nice. I watched Jeopardy so that that's on thirty eight.
- 14:18Speaker 1: And then if you're in Germany, you got Sebastian Volmer
- 14:21Speaker 1: and Marcus com doing a lot of streams, a lot
- 14:23Speaker 1: of streams going out.
- 14:25Speaker 3: The twin cast was great, great, Yeah, I think I.
- 14:29Speaker 7: Don't know first of all, the Alpha changes the guests
- 14:32Speaker 7: like it was definitely very entertaining.
- 14:34Speaker 1: Yeah, I wonder who their guests will be this week.
- 14:36Speaker 1: I know they're going to have different guests, but it'll
- 14:38Speaker 1: be interesting to see who shows up on the twin cast. Yeah,
- 14:42Speaker 1: maybe Paul will that'd be kind of difficult.
- 14:45Speaker 5: Yeah, why why because I'm already on a different They just.
- 14:49Speaker 1: Just talked to them instead of the other guys.
- 14:51Speaker 5: You know, Bob will throw it to me. I'll say,
- 14:52Speaker 5: hold on, I'm talking to Devin.
- 14:53Speaker 1: Right. I had fun. I had a lot of fun
- 14:56Speaker 1: with that last week. Yeah, it was good. And then
- 14:59Speaker 1: the mac of fe thing, obviously was Pat McAfee bizarre.
- 15:04Speaker 5: And again I understated, so we have someone from out
- 15:08Speaker 5: of market. How bad do you think my Boston accent is?
- 15:11Speaker 3: I don't think it's bad.
- 15:12Speaker 1: It's not that bad. But you don't count. You're here,
- 15:15Speaker 1: you know, But I don't you know how good I
- 15:17Speaker 1: am got Acentyeah? You're from here? Who won the accent off?
- 15:20Speaker 1: You did? You did?
- 15:22Speaker 3: I think Scrap has the most Boston.
- 15:25Speaker 1: I heard Scrap this is a guy that works in
- 15:28Speaker 1: our studio. I heard he actually called radio shows sports radio.
- 15:32Speaker 1: Wait what? Yeah? Does he really? Yeah? I have to
- 15:36Speaker 1: check on that. Yeah, I heard he's sometimes a caller. Yeah, well,
- 15:40Speaker 1: I Kala.
- 15:43Speaker 5: We talked about it a lot in the post game show,
- 15:45Speaker 5: that that McAfee thing, and I had no idea about it,
- 15:48Speaker 5: and Hardy told me when we got here. But my god,
- 15:52Speaker 5: did that blow up? Like I never imagined anything like that.
- 15:55Speaker 1: He's huge.
- 15:55Speaker 3: Now.
- 15:57Speaker 1: By the way, if anyone from the NFL is listening,
- 16:01Speaker 1: this is this is a request. I'm not yelling at anyone,
- 16:06Speaker 1: but please change the preseason rules so that if anyone
- 16:10Speaker 1: wants to watch our preseason games on Patriots dot Com anywhere,
- 16:15Speaker 1: they can do it. I mean, why are we adhering
- 16:17Speaker 1: to the you know, the home market rules during the preseason.
- 16:22Speaker 1: I mean, my god, if a Patriots fan in Wyoming
- 16:25Speaker 1: wants to see that a Patriots preseason game, please let them.
- 16:30Speaker 1: I mean, if they're that much of a.
- 16:31Speaker 5: Fan's that's shortsighted on the league's part. I agree with you,
- 16:36Speaker 5: which is unfortunate because that means we won't argue about it.
- 16:39Speaker 5: But you would think that getting the most the most
- 16:44Speaker 5: eyeballs that you can on various games in the preseason
- 16:46Speaker 5: and only only.
- 16:48Speaker 1: Helps your product. I completely understand the regular season with
- 16:50Speaker 1: the networks and all that stuff.
- 16:52Speaker 5: Well, you can't stream at all in the regular season.
- 16:54Speaker 1: I know, you know, I get it, I get it.
- 16:56Speaker 1: But preseason we're doing our own broadcast. If a Patriots
- 17:01Speaker 1: fan is that much of a fan that they want
- 17:03Speaker 1: to watch these lousy games and that you can get
- 17:06Speaker 1: mad at me for saying that. League, if they want
- 17:08Speaker 1: to watch these practice games, of which they're only three, now,
- 17:12Speaker 1: please let them wherever they are, wherever they are, just
- 17:15Speaker 1: let them do it, for crying out loud.
- 17:18Speaker 7: Especially if like you're gonna have NFL Plus and things
- 17:21Speaker 7: like that, just put it on there, like then people
- 17:23Speaker 7: can I think they do.
- 17:24Speaker 1: I think and you have to pay, they have to
- 17:26Speaker 1: plus it up something like that, But I don't know
- 17:29Speaker 1: it's preseason. No, I think you're right. Let the fans
- 17:32Speaker 1: have pres live here, like, don't.
- 17:37Speaker 5: Say yeah if like if you're you know that first
- 17:41Speaker 5: game they got lucky because it was on NFL network, right, Like,
- 17:44Speaker 5: I mean they're all they all eventually go on NFL network,
- 17:46Speaker 5: but I think OZ was live on NFL netw Yeah, just.
- 17:50Speaker 1: Just let the fans. And you know that goes for
- 17:52Speaker 1: the mccordy twin cast too. You know, if we're going
- 17:54Speaker 1: to stream it out, let anyone watch it.
- 17:57Speaker 3: You know, you have internet, it's all that matters.
- 17:59Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, I agree, And I think that's only good
- 18:02Speaker 5: for the for your product you're trying to expose your
- 18:04Speaker 5: teams to the most people you can, right, And I
- 18:08Speaker 5: would think that that would.
- 18:09Speaker 1: Be a and I guaranteee, I guarantee if teams know, Wow,
- 18:15Speaker 1: we can get this to anyone in the country, they'll
- 18:18Speaker 1: start plusing up their broadcasts. They'll start doing what we're
- 18:21Speaker 1: doing with recordy cast or or just beefing up the
- 18:25Speaker 1: main broadcast by doing fun things. I guarantee if they
- 18:30Speaker 1: think the audience can be bigger, they'll do more. You know, well,
- 18:34Speaker 1: I just think that.
- 18:37Speaker 5: I mean some teams I do this every year since
- 18:39Speaker 5: we started doing this, since we've sort of changed quote
- 18:42Speaker 5: unquote the way, you know, it's less of an emphasis
- 18:45Speaker 5: on the actual game itself, like first and ten from
- 18:48Speaker 5: the twenty two, like it's right, we try to have
- 18:50Speaker 5: more of a conversation about the team right as opposed
- 18:52Speaker 5: about to about the game. And I think since we
- 18:56Speaker 5: started doing that, I've gone out of my way to
- 18:59Speaker 5: try to watch, you know, a series of as many
- 19:02Speaker 5: different games from out of town markets as I can.
- 19:04Speaker 5: And there are still very few teams doing things the
- 19:07Speaker 5: way we do. And I'm not saying that we're right.
- 19:09Speaker 5: I think we are, but I'm not saying that our
- 19:11Speaker 5: way is the only way. I'm still surprised to see
- 19:16Speaker 5: as many sort of national announcers that do, and they
- 19:19Speaker 5: clearly don't know the team all that well. I mean
- 19:22Speaker 5: we used to have you know, we did the same
- 19:25Speaker 5: Randy Cross and Don.
- 19:26Speaker 1: Would come in, you know, if it was a Thursday game,
- 19:28Speaker 1: he'd come in on Wednesday, and you know, I'm sure
- 19:32Speaker 1: he did his research, but he doesn't know the team
- 19:34Speaker 1: like you know the team or Bob, and they're here
- 19:38Speaker 1: all the time in market. Bob's at the joint practices
- 19:41Speaker 1: for crime to Henry practice. He's not a fly in
- 19:46Speaker 1: uh you know, play by play guy. He really puts
- 19:49Speaker 1: in the time. So in preseason more so than ever,
- 19:53Speaker 1: you need people who understand the team because it's a
- 19:56Speaker 1: bunch of guys who probably aren't going to make the team.
- 19:59Speaker 1: You know, the only way you know them is if
- 20:00Speaker 1: you've been to the practices. So I don't know, that's
- 20:04Speaker 1: just my preseason thing.
- 20:05Speaker 5: I think that exposure to your product, I think is
- 20:08Speaker 5: what you're looking for. I mean, why would you go
- 20:10Speaker 5: out of your way and there's nothing that you're protecting.
- 20:14Speaker 5: It's not like you're protecting the local market. It's only
- 20:16Speaker 5: on TV in the market, So it's not like there
- 20:21Speaker 5: are other games that would be getting watched, you know
- 20:24Speaker 5: what I'm saying, Like when the when?
- 20:25Speaker 1: The when? The when?
- 20:26Speaker 5: The Patriots and the Texans played the other night, and
- 20:28Speaker 5: I'm pretty sure that was the only game going on
- 20:30Speaker 5: at that time. There was a game after.
- 20:32Speaker 1: US right that night. There were two. There were two.
- 20:34Speaker 5: Games that night. So it's not like you're protecting the
- 20:36Speaker 5: other games.
- 20:37Speaker 3: Right there, nothing else but watch.
- 20:40Speaker 1: You're probably trying to protect the money that they might
- 20:42Speaker 1: get from NFL plus plus. Yeah. Uh, the most interesting
- 20:46Speaker 1: Patriots fan in the world, James Pettigrew, says, Fred, you
- 20:49Speaker 1: need to say we're talking about preseason in the style
- 20:52Speaker 1: of I've been Alan iverson and uh, let's see Johnny
- 20:58Speaker 1: and Matt Town Wisconsin says thank you. I've been out
- 21:01Speaker 1: here in Dairy Lan since so five and it's become
- 21:04Speaker 1: easier to watch my Boston teams, but still not as
- 21:06Speaker 1: easy as it should be if I have to pay
- 21:08Speaker 1: for a plan to even see the preseason game. Short sighted,
- 21:11Speaker 1: this is surely the issue. And then he goes on
- 21:15Speaker 1: about MLB dot Com TV, which is people can watch anything,
- 21:21Speaker 1: but yeah, I don't know.
- 21:25Speaker 5: Yeah, I just think it would make it a lot easier.
- 21:27Speaker 5: And I do think, if you know, to Tomorrow's point,
- 21:30Speaker 5: if it's worried about you trying to get some something
- 21:34Speaker 5: of value on plus that people pay for, I just
- 21:38Speaker 5: think it's short sighted. I don't think and I don't
- 21:40Speaker 5: necessarily think it's something people A lot of people anyway
- 21:44Speaker 5: want to pay for exactly, you know, but they do
- 21:47Speaker 5: want to watch the games. But I don't want to
- 21:49Speaker 5: pay to watch a preseason game, you know. I mean
- 21:52Speaker 5: they have a hard enough time selling tickets to those games, exactly.
- 21:55Speaker 7: I feel like there's just so many subscriptions now, Like
- 21:57Speaker 7: we went from having just you know, flicks and maybe
- 22:01Speaker 7: Hulu to like now we need like so many subscriptions
- 22:04Speaker 7: ESPN plus, NFL plus.
- 22:05Speaker 1: It's like everything has a plus, right, Oh yeah, everybody's
- 22:09Speaker 1: getting that extra money now, you know, and cut the cord.
- 22:14Speaker 1: We're now entering you're now entering a third party app. Yeah,
- 22:19Speaker 1: I have a I have a really hard time. Yeah,
- 22:21Speaker 1: you can't switch back and forth. I know, I know
- 22:24Speaker 1: it takes time.
- 22:25Speaker 5: I've been watching a lot of stuff lately on Apple
- 22:28Speaker 5: TV too.
- 22:28Speaker 1: And it's because at B didn't you get a master's
- 22:31Speaker 1: in remote control, you.
- 22:34Speaker 5: Know you know what's coming, right, Like even Samaraw started
- 22:38Speaker 5: laughing before that one came out. That's how predictable you are.
- 22:40Speaker 5: You really gotta but you're good at it.
- 22:43Speaker 1: You got to freshen app I went pro Right, you've
- 22:45Speaker 1: never seen a commercial, never, very rarely. Yeah, Now do
- 22:50Speaker 1: you do the same in your car with the radio stations?
- 22:52Speaker 1: Of course?
- 22:52Speaker 7: Wow, commercials are not as good as they used to be,
- 22:56Speaker 7: like at all.
- 22:57Speaker 1: Oh no, Plus, when you watch a show, you see
- 23:00Speaker 1: the same ones over and over again. That's what that
- 23:03Speaker 1: is true, you know.
- 23:04Speaker 7: And and now they're starting to be like targeted, like
- 23:08Speaker 7: depending on what your googling static.
- 23:11Speaker 1: I don't mind that. Actually, Rather, if they can feed
- 23:15Speaker 1: me ads that I'm interested in, I'd rather see those
- 23:18Speaker 1: ads than you know. I won't say what the other
- 23:22Speaker 1: subject matter. I guess when you know what NIX is,
- 23:29Speaker 1: it's k n i X. It's like this undergarments for women.
- 23:33Speaker 5: Yeah, I know what you're talking about now, But the
- 23:36Speaker 5: commercial watch the other.
- 23:38Speaker 1: Thing about that's the other thing about these commercials now,
- 23:40Speaker 1: is we're getting a little too familiar. Yeah, well, the
- 23:44Speaker 1: ED stuff, the e ED, the women's problem, the men's problems,
- 23:48Speaker 1: you know, OOMI with the cracks and all this stuff.
- 23:53Speaker 1: I mean, it's it's too much. Have you seen this.
- 23:56Speaker 1: It's a it's a mother and a daughter in a
- 23:58Speaker 1: bathroom and she's got the thing and she's gonna about
- 24:03Speaker 1: to show or how to insert it, you know, and
- 24:06Speaker 1: the sister runs in and goes, mom, I got this,
- 24:09Speaker 1: and she shows her these new undergarments that you don't
- 24:13Speaker 1: have to do that. But it's like, what are we doing?
- 24:16Speaker 5: You need to take a tutorial in my class. I'll
- 24:18Speaker 5: show you how to use the remote so you don't
- 24:20Speaker 5: have to.
- 24:20Speaker 1: Watch out this stuff anymore.
- 24:22Speaker 5: But like, because there's no reason for you to be
- 24:24Speaker 5: watching that, which I have no idea.
- 24:26Speaker 1: I don't know, I don't want. I don't know when
- 24:28Speaker 1: it was, but all of a sudden it became okay
- 24:31Speaker 1: to talk about every malady that the human body has
- 24:35Speaker 1: in detail during commercials.
- 24:38Speaker 6: Is not a joke, And yes, it will give you
- 24:40Speaker 6: the best proof of your life exactly.
- 24:42Speaker 1: This is what I mean.
- 24:45Speaker 3: I am not I'm not seeing these commercials either.
- 24:48Speaker 1: I don't know what it's talking about. Wait a minute,
- 24:50Speaker 1: if you're watching Law and Order on the station at
- 24:55Speaker 1: US seeing these ads.
- 24:57Speaker 3: But I'm also fast forwarding to them.
- 24:58Speaker 1: Okay, so you missed the Oh you're watching and demand,
- 25:03Speaker 1: you just missed the whole thing. I'm fast forward through them.
- 25:05Speaker 5: I'm not even like you could literally watch an episode
- 25:08Speaker 5: of Law and Order at any time of any day.
- 25:11Speaker 1: Oh I know.
- 25:11Speaker 5: And she has them either DVR or on demand. Okay,
- 25:15Speaker 5: so that's like, that's that.
- 25:16Speaker 1: That's the part of that. But yeah, that's a whole
- 25:18Speaker 1: nother one.
- 25:18Speaker 5: And what I was I was thinking about this because
- 25:20Speaker 5: we were watching some Law and Orders the other day,
- 25:24Speaker 5: and I like when they have the commercials in between,
- 25:27Speaker 5: like starting Monday, it's season premiere week, Like there's so
- 25:32Speaker 5: many seasons and so many different variations of Law and Order.
- 25:35Speaker 5: They have themes yea, when they show the reruns that
- 25:38Speaker 5: are like twenty years old, like we're going to show
- 25:40Speaker 5: you the season premiere ten years in a row.
- 25:42Speaker 1: Like, it's amazing to me how many they have nowhere.
- 25:45Speaker 1: It is pumped out. It's all like actors who before
- 25:48Speaker 1: they hit it. Yes, those are pretty funny.
- 25:50Speaker 3: Yeah, they have a lot of themes.
- 25:53Speaker 7: Yeah, and I will sit there and watch them like
- 25:55Speaker 7: I haven't seen it one hundred times.
- 25:56Speaker 5: Yeah, so the one that was on the other day
- 25:58Speaker 5: when Stabler in his notice and left and Your Girl
- 26:03Speaker 5: Live got all upset.
- 26:05Speaker 1: She's a big Live fan Live. Yeah, she's amazing.
- 26:08Speaker 7: If she ever retired, if they ever stopped this show,
- 26:11Speaker 7: I don't know what to do.
- 26:14Speaker 1: Something else will come along.
- 26:16Speaker 3: It won't be the same, though.
- 26:17Speaker 1: No, are you a Golden Girls fan too?
- 26:20Speaker 8: No?
- 26:20Speaker 3: My mom is though.
- 26:21Speaker 1: Oh yeah, Golden Girl is a good show.
- 26:23Speaker 3: Golden Girls murder.
- 26:25Speaker 1: A lot of guys like Golden I don't really like.
- 26:27Speaker 1: I never really got into murder. She wrote.
- 26:29Speaker 5: Oh remember when Pat Summerl used to do that when
- 26:31Speaker 5: he would promo, like the end of the Giants game
- 26:34Speaker 5: on Sundays Murder and he.
- 26:35Speaker 1: Would pause for like twenty minutes. He wrote, Yeah, that
- 26:40Speaker 1: there's a station that that's all they do is show murder.
- 26:43Speaker 1: She wrote, Wow, Colombo. I still watch Colombo. But if
- 26:49Speaker 1: I if it's one that I'm really really know, well
- 26:52Speaker 1: I'll say I know this one. Do you do that
- 26:55Speaker 1: with like Seinfeld? No, Seinfeld, you just watch it. You
- 26:59Speaker 1: find something funny that you didn't find before. You can
- 27:03Speaker 1: watch Seinfelds over and over again.
- 27:06Speaker 5: Yeah, so stupid, like the one one they they're trying
- 27:10Speaker 5: to get the pilot done. And they go in and
- 27:12Speaker 5: they're pitching the ideas, and then George comes in late
- 27:14Speaker 5: because he was trying to talk to David Letterman, right,
- 27:16Speaker 5: And he comes in and he kisses Susan right war on,
- 27:21Speaker 5: and then he's like about, all right, why don't you
- 27:26Speaker 5: talk about why don't you talk about the Patriots?
- 27:29Speaker 1: All right, So we're gonna talk about the Patriots for
- 27:31Speaker 1: the next until too. Tamarraw, Paul, myself, Matt, and Na
- 27:35Speaker 1: Booth eight five five PATS five hundred is the ACE
- 27:37Speaker 1: ticket hotline. Web radio at Patriots dot com is the
- 27:42Speaker 1: email address. Austin says Paul. I work closely with a
- 27:45Speaker 1: lady from Boston. She has a thick accent. After living
- 27:48Speaker 1: down here for decades, your accent is nowhere near as
- 27:52Speaker 1: heavy as hers. I do appreciate the Boston accent and
- 27:55Speaker 1: find it entertaining. And I've been told for multiple occasions
- 27:59Speaker 1: I sound like I'm from Texas, so at least you
- 28:01Speaker 1: sound like where you're from.
- 28:03Speaker 5: Yeah, that's kind of how I feel about it. I
- 28:05Speaker 5: think you can tell that I'm from Boston.
- 28:08Speaker 1: Do I have an accent?
- 28:09Speaker 5: No, not really, because I think New Jersey and you
- 28:13Speaker 5: went around. Yeah, you moved around a little bit. Yeah,
- 28:16Speaker 5: and you could definitely tell. And it's more like I
- 28:19Speaker 5: don't think I dropped the rs that pronounced. I mean,
- 28:22Speaker 5: obviously I do, but not like K. I don't ever
- 28:25Speaker 5: say ka. But it's more like the o's like if
- 28:28Speaker 5: you say like rob instead of rob. You know, that's
- 28:34Speaker 5: like a Boston thing. And then you put the R
- 28:35Speaker 5: at the end of an a, which we do all
- 28:37Speaker 5: the time, like Tampa.
- 28:39Speaker 7: Uh.
- 28:40Speaker 1: James says, I think it's great. We're talking about how
- 28:42Speaker 1: Paul doesn't have an accent. I didn't say I didn't
- 28:44Speaker 1: have one. And then he has law and order. But
- 28:46Speaker 1: Paul says Laura in order. Laurer. Do you say Laurer?
- 28:51Speaker 1: I don't think I say lore, I say law law
- 28:54Speaker 1: in order. Yeah, it's law law law. Is that not
- 28:58Speaker 1: what I'm saying. I don't know. He had an L
- 29:01Speaker 1: A W E. R.
- 29:03Speaker 5: Lower that's lawyer. That would be like almost like lawyer.
- 29:07Speaker 1: That's to go watch Lincoln. I mean, oh, very good
- 29:13Speaker 1: saw that. I saw the end of it. Did you
- 29:15Speaker 1: see both seasons? Because they split it up into two
- 29:17Speaker 1: different parts. Okay, I'll leave you alone. Yeah, I liked it.
- 29:23Speaker 1: I liked it. Alex and Raleigh. Uh, it's crazy. I
- 29:28Speaker 1: can't watch a preseason game for the team. Is the
- 29:31Speaker 1: mccordy cast able to be watched outside of Boston? The
- 29:33Speaker 1: answers no question about the team. I've seen a lot
- 29:36Speaker 1: of Malik hype.
- 29:39Speaker 5: I was gonna gave that to the second segment, but.
- 29:41Speaker 1: I'm all forgetting an athletic quarterback and catching up to
- 29:44Speaker 1: the game today. But are you all on board with
- 29:46Speaker 1: having Malik be the backup or in extreme cases, the starter.
- 29:50Speaker 1: I saw plenty of folks on x oh that's Twitter
- 29:56Speaker 1: saying Malik took significant reps. He has that in all caps,
- 29:59Speaker 1: and just like it's all being blown up a bit.
- 30:01Speaker 1: I'm not the biggest Mac fan, never wanted him in
- 30:04Speaker 1: the draft, but I still want to see if he
- 30:05Speaker 1: can rebound from last year.
- 30:09Speaker 5: You are correct. There have been people that are terming
- 30:14Speaker 5: the four or five reps that he took as being significant.
- 30:18Speaker 1: I do not if I listened to an interesting argument
- 30:22Speaker 1: and I had to say, you know, that kind of
- 30:24Speaker 1: makes a little sense, and they're saying this. Hell if
- 30:28Speaker 1: in fact, the quarterback competition between Bailey Zappi and Mac
- 30:32Speaker 1: Jones is not a competition. It's Mac. There's no question.
- 30:36Speaker 1: Bailey can't touch him. It's over. Then why not have
- 30:40Speaker 1: Malik be the backup? If you know Zappi can't do it,
- 30:44Speaker 1: he'll never be your starter, then why not have Malik?
- 30:49Speaker 1: Do you think he's better than Zappi?
- 30:52Speaker 7: Uh?
- 30:53Speaker 1: No, I don't. That's the answer to that.
- 30:56Speaker 5: Yeah, but why would you want him as the backup
- 30:58Speaker 5: if Mac? If Mac it's hurt, then you want Zappi
- 31:01Speaker 5: to play?
- 31:02Speaker 1: No, because he's no good? They say, this is the argument.
- 31:04Speaker 1: Who's saying he's no good? This is the argument, like
- 31:06Speaker 1: he he can't compete, he's not, He's not gonna be
- 31:09Speaker 1: He's cut him. Well, if you think the guy can't
- 31:12Speaker 1: play at all, cut him. That's what I'm saying, And
- 31:14Speaker 1: so then make leak.
- 31:14Speaker 5: But then I asked you if you thought Cunningham was
- 31:16Speaker 5: better than Zappi and you said no, no, But so
- 31:18Speaker 5: then you should cut him both.
- 31:19Speaker 1: But they're saying that if he can be number two,
- 31:21Speaker 1: we'll get more reps, he'll develop him like they're saying,
- 31:24Speaker 1: maybe he could be someday. But you know, you know
- 31:27Speaker 1: what Zappi is.
- 31:28Speaker 5: But we have that argument with that, don't think it
- 31:31Speaker 5: makes any sense.
- 31:32Speaker 1: No, it was I was listening to the argument. Oh
- 31:34Speaker 1: I didn't have it, Okay, I was listening to it.
- 31:37Speaker 5: Yeah, I don't. I don't get that line of thought.
- 31:39Speaker 1: I think.
- 31:41Speaker 5: I think there's an intriguing skill set from Lak Cunningham
- 31:43Speaker 5: that we saw, you know a little bit in practice.
- 31:46Speaker 5: I still think that his role with the twenty twenty
- 31:50Speaker 5: three Patriots will be as a scout team quarterback, and
- 31:53Speaker 5: I think there's value to that. I think to ask
- 31:56Speaker 5: a wide receiver to operate as as a quarterback like
- 32:00Speaker 5: they've had in the past with like Malcolm Perry, Lynn
- 32:06Speaker 5: Lynn Bowden. They've had a couple of guys on the
- 32:08Speaker 5: practice squad in recent years that played some quarterback in college,
- 32:12Speaker 5: and they've asked them to be like scout team guys
- 32:14Speaker 5: when they play well. I think it's much better, much
- 32:16Speaker 5: more effective to have a guy who actually is a
- 32:19Speaker 5: quarterback operating as Jalen Hurts as an example for the opener, right.
- 32:25Speaker 5: And I think that's what they're doing in practice. Yeah,
- 32:28Speaker 5: I think they're and I think there's a reason that
- 32:29Speaker 5: they're doing it when they're doing it, because I think
- 32:31Speaker 5: they want us to do this and maybe it's putting
- 32:34Speaker 5: something in Philadelphia's mind. We got to be prepared. They're
- 32:36Speaker 5: gonna have a package.
- 32:37Speaker 1: But let's just say that they're doing it for exactly
- 32:40Speaker 1: the reason you're talking about. But as they're doing it,
- 32:43Speaker 1: they're like, this guy's pretty good.
- 32:45Speaker 5: Like what have you seen that indicates that? I said
- 32:48Speaker 5: if no, but I'm but I'm asking you.
- 32:50Speaker 1: Like, well, obviously we don't have enough uh you know,
- 32:54Speaker 1: footage yet on them. But let's just say they use
- 32:57Speaker 1: them again in this game, and this time it's against
- 33:00Speaker 1: some better players from Green Bay.
- 33:02Speaker 5: And I'm talking about again, like, why wouldn't you, if you,
- 33:06Speaker 5: if you were intrigued by him a practice, wouldn't you
- 33:07Speaker 5: give him more than three snaps?
- 33:09Speaker 1: Well maybe they, maybe they will once we're not there.
- 33:13Speaker 5: Yeah, well that's that's a long time. Like we have
- 33:16Speaker 5: two more weeks where we're there. Really, yeah, this week
- 33:19Speaker 5: in Green Bay and next week in Tennis.
- 33:21Speaker 1: So that's true what they're joining. But let's just say
- 33:23Speaker 1: that he does some things in those joints and it's
- 33:25Speaker 1: like he's doing it against their their better player.
- 33:28Speaker 5: If they allow him to have the same amount of
- 33:31Speaker 5: snaps that Trace mcsoldy was getting, then I'll say that
- 33:34Speaker 5: might be something there.
- 33:35Speaker 3: Yeah, I think one. If I ever saw him switch
- 33:38Speaker 3: to a red non contact.
- 33:39Speaker 1: Jersey also another sign.
- 33:41Speaker 3: That's when I would be like, Okay, they're taking him.
- 33:43Speaker 1: A good one.
- 33:44Speaker 5: That's another sign good, that they're taking it seriously and
- 33:46Speaker 5: that they may be intrigued. I think right now they
- 33:50Speaker 5: think he can give you, give them value. The question
- 33:54Speaker 5: to me was do you need to have three quarterbacks
- 33:57Speaker 5: on the roster?
- 33:58Speaker 1: And if you feel like.
- 33:59Speaker 5: That the answer is yes, then you have a decision
- 34:01Speaker 5: to make as to how you set up games.
- 34:03Speaker 1: Malie Cunningham better than Tim Tebow?
- 34:06Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, Okay, what happened to Tim Tebow?
- 34:11Speaker 1: He won some games in the NFL as a Patriot.
- 34:14Speaker 1: He was terrible. What happened to him? He washed out?
- 34:18Speaker 1: They cut him.
- 34:19Speaker 5: Right, He's never on the team, right, right, So you're
- 34:23Speaker 5: comparing to a guy who've never made the team.
- 34:25Speaker 1: I know.
- 34:26Speaker 5: So, yes, I would say he throws better than Tim Tebow.
- 34:28Speaker 5: He doesn't run any any better. He's more elected.
- 34:31Speaker 1: Oh god, he runs better than Tim Tebow. Just Tim
- 34:34Speaker 1: Tebow can run into you, but he can't run around
- 34:37Speaker 1: people like Malie can. Come on.
- 34:39Speaker 5: Yeah, different, So that's a different, different, just exactly what
- 34:42Speaker 5: I just said. Yeah, but you're going to catch Tim Tebow.
- 34:45Speaker 5: This guy they caught Malie Cunningham the other night.
- 34:48Speaker 1: Now he's better runner than Tim Tebow. Please.
- 34:50Speaker 7: I think I think time will tell if he gets
- 34:54Speaker 7: some snaps against Green Bay. But if they don't, they
- 34:56Speaker 7: to choose him as wide receiver the whole time, then
- 34:58Speaker 7: you're like, oh, okay, all right.
- 35:02Speaker 1: I don't know. People are intrigued by this.
- 35:05Speaker 5: It's a talka. Yeah, it's a talker right now. I'll
- 35:07Speaker 5: tell you that's not anybody.
- 35:09Speaker 1: So I hate to say this. Patriots for anything getting
- 35:12Speaker 1: get mad at me. It also shows how star starved
- 35:16Speaker 1: we are. We're just looking for something, We're looking for
- 35:19Speaker 1: somebody to stand out.
- 35:22Speaker 3: I think it was tough because that that entire preseason
- 35:24Speaker 3: game was really hard to watch from an offensive standpoint
- 35:28Speaker 3: until he.
- 35:29Speaker 1: Got until he got in, and it was like, yeah,
- 35:31Speaker 1: but we've seen and I have seen that before in
- 35:34Speaker 1: our many years. You know, these preseason superstars that come
- 35:38Speaker 1: in and you know, Sean Moury and Michael Bishop and
- 35:41Speaker 1: all these guys, and they lighted up in preseason. You
- 35:44Speaker 1: never hear from him again.
- 35:45Speaker 3: You know, it's almost like Trade Nicks in innoceense.
- 35:48Speaker 7: Yeah, he has a great off season and then yeah
- 35:52Speaker 7: then nothing?
- 35:53Speaker 1: All right? Eight five five past five hundred is the
- 35:56Speaker 1: ace ticket hotline Sean's and Vancouver. What's up, Sean? I?
- 36:01Speaker 9: I have a couple of things, bread, so you know
- 36:06Speaker 9: my Well, I just want to say this. Watching that
- 36:09Speaker 9: preseason games with the backup offensive lines, it doesn't seem
- 36:13Speaker 9: like a pocket passer has any chance of giving the
- 36:18Speaker 9: team proper evaluation of an offense because they're just not
- 36:22Speaker 9: able to do the job. And you know, when the
- 36:26Speaker 9: Leak was signed by the Patriots, my hopes were that
- 36:30Speaker 9: they can get him on the practice squad so he
- 36:33Speaker 9: can help develop a team to prepare for mobile quarterbacks.
- 36:36Speaker 9: That was my hope. But seeing him on that last
- 36:40Speaker 9: drive play with twenty one other players who didn't really
- 36:44Speaker 9: have much of a shot to make it to the NFL,
- 36:48Speaker 9: it looked like, okay, well, now this guy needs to
- 36:52Speaker 9: have an opportunity. And even the limited practices this week
- 36:56Speaker 9: with probably better players leads me to think that, okay,
- 37:00Speaker 9: we're going to see Millie Cunningham uh this week because
- 37:05Speaker 9: unless they can prove that offensive line, you're going to
- 37:07Speaker 9: have to have him in there just to give wide
- 37:10Speaker 9: receivers and tight ends a chance to catch the ball
- 37:13Speaker 9: while he's scrambled around and thrown the ball. And if
- 37:15Speaker 9: he can prove himself in that sense, then the Patriots
- 37:19Speaker 9: won't be able to cut him, you know, they'll have
- 37:22Speaker 9: to keep him on on.
- 37:23Speaker 1: The I know, but how is that. I hear what
- 37:25Speaker 1: you're saying makes sense, But how is that helping our offense? If, like, well,
- 37:30Speaker 1: we're putting in a guy to basically run around and
- 37:34Speaker 1: play schoolyard football. I mean, how are you advancing the
- 37:39Speaker 1: experience of our offense? If you're going to.
- 37:41Speaker 5: I would just tell people go back and watch the drive.
- 37:44Speaker 5: Go back and watch the drive, and tell me what
- 37:47Speaker 5: you thought was like so great other than the fifteen
- 37:50Speaker 5: yard face mass penalty which completely spare ahead of it.
- 37:53Speaker 1: I thought the touchdown.
- 37:56Speaker 5: Everything was that the throw that he made to Nixon
- 37:59Speaker 5: was an outstate throw. Yes, yeah, that's one play.
- 38:04Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 38:04Speaker 9: And well, the thing is I'm saying that he moved
- 38:07Speaker 9: the ball definitely.
- 38:08Speaker 5: Not yeah, But what I'm saying is because the guy
- 38:11Speaker 5: ripped his helmet off, they ended up moving the ball.
- 38:12Speaker 5: Otherwise they were gonna punt and then no one would
- 38:15Speaker 5: be talking about this.
- 38:17Speaker 9: Well, maybe if he doesn't rip his head off, maybe
- 38:19Speaker 9: he gets the first time.
- 38:20Speaker 1: I don't know. He was getting tackled at the time.
- 38:22Speaker 5: It was going to be third and seven helmet. He
- 38:25Speaker 5: had him by the shoulder and then let go of
- 38:27Speaker 5: the shoulder and grabbed him on the helmet converted. Listen,
- 38:31Speaker 5: everything everything was a blink, like a blink away from
- 38:35Speaker 5: like getting stopped. And then the guy ripped his helmet
- 38:38Speaker 5: off and that completely gives him fifteen three yards. Now
- 38:40Speaker 5: that's how that that's how it worked. What about we
- 38:42Speaker 5: run the triple off without.
- 38:44Speaker 1: With remandre Zeke and Malik, dre Zeke and Malik that
- 38:52Speaker 1: Fred and I work shot this one. I want to talk.
- 38:56Speaker 9: I also want to talk about the preseason games. I
- 38:59Speaker 9: mean to me, it's like, as a fan, I'm not
- 39:01Speaker 9: going to pay for that. Why don't I just go
- 39:03Speaker 9: to practice? Because you're putting players on the field that
- 39:06Speaker 9: aren't even as good as the one you're practicing during
- 39:08Speaker 9: the week. It doesn't make sense for a fan to
- 39:11Speaker 9: pay money to see the guys who are never going
- 39:13Speaker 9: to make it to the NFL, right.
- 39:15Speaker 1: I think, I you know, like you said it becomes
- 39:19Speaker 1: more valuable, thanks John, It becomes more valuable to actually
- 39:22Speaker 1: go to practice at least you see, you know, the
- 39:25Speaker 1: top shelf guys.
- 39:27Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean I think that there's I think it's
- 39:32Speaker 5: weird the way the preseason is evolving, Like the Patriots
- 39:36Speaker 5: didn't really play anybody. You know, Christian Gonzales was one
- 39:40Speaker 5: of the very few you know, Keyon White I think
- 39:42Speaker 5: will be a part of the defense.
- 39:43Speaker 1: I mean, Mills was Jalen Mills.
- 39:46Speaker 5: I think there a handful of guys on defense that
- 39:48Speaker 5: played really no one on offense. You know, maybe to
- 39:53Speaker 5: Mario Douglas, but he only played two plays, right, you know,
- 39:57Speaker 5: but you look around the league and other teams that
- 40:00Speaker 5: at least played a series, like.
- 40:03Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, some of the starters played a series,
- 40:05Speaker 1: and the Patriots didn't.
- 40:07Speaker 5: Like I don't know if that was just because of
- 40:09Speaker 5: the offensive line and that changed it offensively, because it
- 40:11Speaker 5: did seem yeah, defensively, if you want to say they
- 40:14Speaker 5: have sixteen eighteen guys that will contribute defensively, at least
- 40:19Speaker 5: half of those guys played the other night.
- 40:20Speaker 1: I'll be interested in how they treat the third one,
- 40:23Speaker 1: because even though they had they'll have the joint practices
- 40:27Speaker 1: with the Titans after that last preseason game, you had
- 40:30Speaker 1: that big gap before.
- 40:31Speaker 5: I don't I don't think that that factors in as much.
- 40:33Speaker 5: I think last year they played because they've been they
- 40:35Speaker 5: were playing so poorly and they needed it, and I
- 40:38Speaker 5: think they played a lot now.
- 40:40Speaker 1: I think Mac and.
- 40:41Speaker 5: The starters will play in the third preseason game, but
- 40:43Speaker 5: I wonder if they'll play more Saturday Night than they
- 40:46Speaker 5: will in that third.
- 40:47Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't have the end. I don't either.
- 40:49Speaker 1: It could go anywhere. Just I think Bill is changing.
- 40:51Speaker 1: I mean us it used to be a formula for
- 40:53Speaker 1: the preseason when there were four and every team now
- 40:56Speaker 1: seems to be treating it a little differently, and I
- 40:59Speaker 1: think they're all trying to figure it out what's best.
- 41:02Speaker 5: And I think that, but also I think it gets
- 41:04Speaker 5: impacted how the week goes in the practices.
- 41:07Speaker 1: Yeah, and I think, you know.
- 41:08Speaker 5: Bill talks a lot about how those joint practices are
- 41:12Speaker 5: valuable because you can sort of manufacture it. You can
- 41:16Speaker 5: create all the situations that you want under semi live conditions,
- 41:20Speaker 5: where like the other night, the pages didn't get a
- 41:22Speaker 5: two minute drive. You know, you probably want to get
- 41:25Speaker 5: a two minute drive, right, Like just hear me out,
- 41:28Speaker 5: like plus fifty punting two minute drive, maybe going for
- 41:32Speaker 5: it on fourth thousand and three.
- 41:34Speaker 1: Like you can't orchestrate.
- 41:36Speaker 5: Those situations in the preseason game, but you can against
- 41:39Speaker 5: Green Bay on Wednesday and Thursday, right, And I think
- 41:43Speaker 5: Bill looks at that as more valuable.
- 41:44Speaker 1: Yeah, and it's not even just two minute drive. You
- 41:47Speaker 1: can get granul and say it's a two minute drive.
- 41:49Speaker 1: We don't have any more timeouts. Oh yeah, you know,
- 41:51Speaker 1: you can do all those things, you know.
- 41:53Speaker 5: Like I thought Houston, it was funny because Houston I
- 41:56Speaker 5: thought was excellent at the end of the first half.
- 41:58Speaker 5: And as we were talking Bob Zoe and I wasn't
- 42:02Speaker 5: I don't think I was on at the time, but
- 42:04Speaker 5: we were kind of like talking just why she used
- 42:07Speaker 5: not using any timeouts. I was like, No, they're like
- 42:09Speaker 5: really kind of experimenting with the clock right here and
- 42:12Speaker 5: handling it perfectly. They're going to make sure that they're
- 42:15Speaker 5: either going to score or kike a field goal and
- 42:17Speaker 5: there'll be no time left.
- 42:18Speaker 1: They're not going to run out of time. And that's
- 42:20Speaker 1: the way that that they ended up scoring late in
- 42:22Speaker 1: the half. Yea and they had two seconds left in
- 42:23Speaker 1: the clock.
- 42:24Speaker 5: Yeah, it was really interesting. I think the way that unfolded.
- 42:27Speaker 1: Let's go to Todd, North Carolina. I hate Oh Todd
- 42:31Speaker 1: couldn't hang on. So about that one more and then
- 42:34Speaker 1: we'll take a break. Eddie's in La Eddie, Eddie, Eddie
- 42:41Speaker 1: in La. Oh there you are sorry, I was meeting.
- 42:44Speaker 8: I had no idea, my best o'vire there, have a
- 42:47Speaker 8: good day.
- 42:48Speaker 9: I just want to touch on I like the idea
- 42:50Speaker 9: that you guys mentioned about the triple option with Deacon
- 42:53Speaker 9: Rimandre and it kind of led me think.
- 42:56Speaker 8: About last week you guys were talking about the.
- 42:58Speaker 9: Fullback position, specifically Kyle Hyuschek. What are the chances we
- 43:02Speaker 9: can see he play that role a little bit?
- 43:06Speaker 1: He's a good blocker, but yeah, how big is he?
- 43:10Speaker 1: What is he like two twenty maybe? Yeah, I mean
- 43:14Speaker 1: he I don't know how long that would last because
- 43:17Speaker 1: I mean he's he's getting warned, he got worn down.
- 43:19Speaker 1: Just you want a running back, he wants to play fullback? Yeah?
- 43:22Speaker 1: He probably? Yeah, But I mean listen, I can see
- 43:25Speaker 1: them using him in a variety of ways. He's a
- 43:28Speaker 1: good veteran. He has a lot of skills, a lot
- 43:31Speaker 1: of experience. Smart player doesn't fumble, you know, so like
- 43:37Speaker 1: he does the intangibles well, so I could see them
- 43:40Speaker 1: kind of using him as a utility back. Thanks Eddie.
- 43:43Speaker 1: All right, before we take a break, I just want

- 44:45Speaker 13: With the head coach coming over from San Francisco on
- 44:48Speaker 13: a first time offensive pointator from the Niners down well.
- 44:51Speaker 14: The fresh out of down stratut looks to throw under.
- 44:54Speaker 1: Fresher lost down staying with it.
- 44:58Speaker 14: Can you a call it with the sack for New engl.
- 45:04Speaker 15: Okay, we're gonna we're gonna take a look at the
- 45:05Speaker 15: quality right here. So you look at the pressure right here.
- 45:08Speaker 15: It's gonna be internal pressure and that's the worst thing
- 45:10Speaker 15: for a quarterback. You can handle pressure off the edge,
- 45:13Speaker 15: but when you have a guard that gets beat like that,
- 45:15Speaker 15: you can't set your feet and you stay with the
- 45:18Speaker 15: quarterback right there.
- 45:19Speaker 1: That's a great sec.
- 45:21Speaker 13: I'm a fifteen yard loss for the Houston Texans on
- 45:24Speaker 13: the sack back quality. So now they're down in twenty
- 45:26Speaker 13: one for the Texans. It's Patriots defense looking for the
- 45:30Speaker 13: get off. Jalen Mills, Miles Bryant, two veterans back there
- 45:34Speaker 13: at safety. We've seen a lot of Mills, of course
- 45:36Speaker 13: on the outside as a cornerback early in his Patriots tenure.
- 45:39Speaker 13: Now Stroud hanging in throws it a veneerside peck tugt
- 45:44Speaker 13: and on the return for the Pats side step banging
- 45:46Speaker 13: hit his Mills takes a backs to the middle, try
- 45:50Speaker 13: to turn the corner on the fire sock it's still
- 45:52Speaker 13: at his feet.
- 45:53Speaker 14: Take until he takes the spill the twenty four And
- 45:58Speaker 14: that's the big question.
- 45:59Speaker 15: Who is gonna replace Devin mccordy patrolling that back end
- 46:04Speaker 15: of the defense, not giving up the big play.
- 46:06Speaker 14: Shroud really forces this ball over the middle. To me,
- 46:10Speaker 14: this looks like sewing to me.
- 46:12Speaker 15: So this is just a bad throw by Stround right
- 46:15Speaker 15: here in the middle of the field, and eventually you're
- 46:17Speaker 15: gonna see Mills break on this.
- 46:19Speaker 13: Nick Folk is out there, the veteran who's been the
- 46:21Speaker 13: Patriots reliable places picker the last few years for a
- 46:24Speaker 13: forty four yard tribe with a snap in place, drives
- 46:27Speaker 13: this kick down the middle.
- 46:28Speaker 1: Patriots kick nearly leave.
- 46:33Speaker 13: The pick by Mils leads to the points off the
- 46:37Speaker 13: foot of both. Now he stands into fire down on
- 46:41Speaker 13: your side for this's gonna be a lead pulls, a
- 46:45Speaker 13: Hanna throw by Zappy and a terrific catch by Thornton
- 46:50Speaker 13: for twenty seven.
- 46:51Speaker 14: Oh this is a.
- 46:51Speaker 15: Pretty throw by Zappy off the back foot. He spends
- 46:54Speaker 15: this one. It's one o one on the outside. It's
- 46:56Speaker 15: a little shake route. You're gonna see Bailey. He feels
- 46:59Speaker 15: the pressure coming up the middle. He knows he's got
- 47:01Speaker 15: to get rid of this. You see the safety come
- 47:03Speaker 15: off the edge. This is what Thorton has to do.
- 47:05Speaker 15: He has to go up and elevate like this. He
- 47:07Speaker 15: did it a couple of times last year.
- 47:09Speaker 13: Gerrod Mayo, of course, the former linebacker for the Patriots's
- 47:13Speaker 13: on the game with an effort to keep him around
- 47:15Speaker 13: this offseason. Oh drop goombohowa Is White comes in to
- 47:21Speaker 13: give the Patriots the chance for recovery. Although it looks
- 47:26Speaker 13: like the linebacker Munson comes away with a loose football,
- 47:30Speaker 13: and indeed the Patriots have the turnover.
- 47:32Speaker 14: But it was keen on one with a big head.
- 47:34Speaker 14: You have a pasha of Gunboowe mishandled the pitch.
- 47:37Speaker 15: You remember team Jimmy Collins, former second round pick, impact player.
- 47:41Speaker 15: Right away you may hit it here balls on the ground,
- 47:44Speaker 15: but watch keyon White, come in right.
- 47:45Speaker 14: There with the big left shoulder. There's your hit. Balls out, Patriots.
- 47:51Speaker 13: Takeover now Zappi on the third and five, I a
- 47:55Speaker 13: bad brasher try to escape up the middle, but unable
- 47:58Speaker 13: to do so.
- 48:00Speaker 1: A chance there. That might be the last we see.
- 48:04Speaker 15: If Bailey this this game, you you thought, maybe okay,
- 48:08Speaker 15: with under five minutes left to get a good, good
- 48:10Speaker 15: chance to move the team here, trying to get some points, but.
- 48:15Speaker 14: A good couple issues up in the front there with
- 48:17Speaker 14: the protection.
- 48:19Speaker 13: Mills, quick throw across the little dell with a sprint
- 48:22Speaker 13: into the open field and corral. Good play on the
- 48:25Speaker 13: tackle by a way, But a big game for Houston
- 48:27Speaker 13: as a dry.
- 48:28Speaker 1: Starter right now.
- 48:29Speaker 13: Looking for that defense for the Patriots, which has got
- 48:32Speaker 13: a lot of red zone work in training camp. Come
- 48:34Speaker 13: up with the stop here on our first and goal
- 48:36Speaker 13: to go. Mills, look at end zone, backshot del We
- 48:41Speaker 13: got it.
- 48:41Speaker 1: Pommily touchdown Houston.
- 48:46Speaker 14: Patriots going forward here on a fourth.
- 48:48Speaker 13: Down and one toss one opening possession of the third quarter. Harris,
- 48:58Speaker 13: the big back behind Zapfie and a tight set, takes
- 49:00Speaker 13: the hand up, runs up the middle, contact behind the line,
- 49:03Speaker 13: looking for the second effort.
- 49:05Speaker 14: To get it.
- 49:05Speaker 13: They got said he did not.
- 49:10Speaker 15: It's tough cooking inside. I mean, you had the one
- 49:12Speaker 15: run there on the second down.
- 49:14Speaker 1: But it was second and one. I think that's one
- 49:15Speaker 1: of the reasons they dashed it.
- 49:17Speaker 14: But you got you had no search from your middle.
- 49:19Speaker 15: You want your search to come from the middle of
- 49:21Speaker 15: your offensive line just to get a push.
- 49:23Speaker 14: They get stood right up. But it's really the edge
- 49:26Speaker 14: defender that comes in and makes the play.
- 49:29Speaker 1: And now the pat's looking for the stop.
- 49:30Speaker 13: Midway through the third trailing seven to three, Texans, we
- 49:35Speaker 13: gotta be on and the give to the full back
- 49:40Speaker 13: the plunge straight ahead. That guy on the rush is
- 49:44Speaker 13: in despite the hit by DeMarcus Mitchell Houston adding to
- 49:47Speaker 13: its league.
- 49:53Speaker 15: Yeah, we used to call this B twelve to give
- 49:55Speaker 15: to the full back two hole as low as the
- 49:59Speaker 15: shoulder seat the push. Texans get the push on the
- 50:03Speaker 15: shortyards you did.
- 50:06Speaker 14: Flips the field becomes critical for you.
- 50:08Speaker 13: Kaimi Fairbar in the incumbent place kicker for the Texans.
- 50:12Speaker 13: Given the night off for the most part, Jake Bates
- 50:15Speaker 13: is back out there for his second point after try.
- 50:18Speaker 13: He was a kickoff specialist. Pall At Arkansas. Now getting
- 50:22Speaker 13: the chance with another placement and this kit is licing
- 50:29Speaker 13: to the right.
- 50:30Speaker 1: Take it one for.
- 50:31Speaker 13: Two keenum design roll out so the end zone for Bachmann,
- 50:36Speaker 13: good brow. He leads him to the pylon for another
- 50:38Speaker 13: Houston touchdown.
- 50:42Speaker 15: All right, they what credit to the Texans? The route
- 50:45Speaker 15: was there to the right side. What did they do?
- 50:47Speaker 15: Come right back to it on the left side, clear
- 50:50Speaker 15: out with the boundary. Guy, there's the quick move right there.
- 50:54Speaker 15: We saw Julie Edelman, Wes Walker, Danny Mendola, Troy Brown.
- 50:58Speaker 15: My guy make a career out of those type of
- 51:00Speaker 15: routs right there on that goal line and drop Mayo
- 51:03Speaker 15: knows it.
- 51:03Speaker 13: Now third and two for Cunningham here under center looking
- 51:09Speaker 13: to throw flushed out ball, go and complete off the
- 51:14Speaker 13: fingertips of Nixon.
- 51:16Speaker 14: That's a heck of a throw. Oh.
- 51:19Speaker 15: I didn't think he was gonna be able to get
- 51:20Speaker 15: it there because I thought he's covered. He's double covered,
- 51:23Speaker 15: you know, he's kind of working through the end zone
- 51:25Speaker 15: to that back right corner. Cunningham gets outside the pocket
- 51:29Speaker 15: on containment and he puts enough arc on the ball.
- 51:34Speaker 15: It's a heck of a throw, Bob, It's a drop
- 51:37Speaker 15: by Nixon. Phenomenal throw by Malie Cunningham.
- 51:43Speaker 14: Oh, he's fun to watch.
- 51:44Speaker 13: Out of the two minute warning, dropping back all morning
- 51:48Speaker 13: in a move to break, somebody calls into the end
- 51:50Speaker 13: zone as he breaks the goal line for a touchdown
- 51:53Speaker 13: New England.
- 51:58Speaker 14: I don't know how you don't watch this, or I
- 52:01Speaker 14: don't know how you watch this.
- 52:02Speaker 1: It just don't go.
- 52:06Speaker 15: This guy get shaken back man. The ability to make
- 52:10Speaker 15: people miss. We're gonna take a look at it from
- 52:13Speaker 15: the end zone.
- 52:17Speaker 14: Okay, so what do you have everybody here in the middle.
- 52:20Speaker 14: He knows it. He still has to make two guys miss.
- 52:24Speaker 1: He does it, and then you gotta.
- 52:25Speaker 15: Lower the shoulder because you got another safety coming in
- 52:28Speaker 15: from the other side.
- 52:30Speaker 14: Cunningham does it. It's a nice drive you put together.
- 52:33Speaker 1: I'm sorry.
- 52:35Speaker 13: And now Cunningham on the give and JJ Taylor is
- 52:39Speaker 13: stop short.
- 52:40Speaker 15: I wouldn't get enough on the backside block there.
- 52:44Speaker 1: Nice drive, though, kid, Nice driving all right back here
- 52:51Speaker 1: on Patriots Unfiltered. That's the preseason game one highlights. I'm
- 52:58Speaker 1: surprised we didn't hear Paul. Why don't we get Paul
- 53:01Speaker 1: on the highlight reel? No answer from Matt morethin nothing
- 53:06Speaker 1: no Love eight five five pass five hundred. Is he
- 53:10Speaker 1: a's ticket? Hotline? Web Better next Time web Radio at
- 53:13Speaker 1: patries dot com is the email address. Derek writes in
- 53:17Speaker 1: can you please shed some light on why the Patriots
- 53:19Speaker 1: continue to extend McMillan when he hasn't played for in
- 53:22Speaker 1: two years? I stand corrected. He played last year, But
- 53:25Speaker 1: I just feel like there are other guys they should
- 53:27Speaker 1: be extending than a guy that just had achilles surgery.
- 53:31Speaker 5: Yeah, that one is very strange to me. No disrespect
- 53:34Speaker 5: to Ray Kwan McMillan, but what did he do last year,
- 53:37Speaker 5: in the one out of the three years that he
- 53:39Speaker 5: was here that he was healthy that you had to
- 53:43Speaker 5: re up him?
- 53:44Speaker 1: Now?
- 53:45Speaker 7: Yeah, that was a little bit confusing. When I saw that,
- 53:48Speaker 7: I was like, that's that's interesting.
- 53:49Speaker 3: It seems out of order.
- 53:53Speaker 1: David writes in before the game on Thursday, I joke
- 53:55Speaker 1: with friends that Cunningham would look great and people would overreact.
- 53:59Speaker 1: He's a terrific athlete playing against fourth quarter preseason scrubs.
- 54:02Speaker 1: Of course he's gonna look great. Let's see him do
- 54:05Speaker 1: something against NFL talent before we crown him.
- 54:08Speaker 5: Yeah, Like, I'm I'm less concerned about who we played against.
- 54:11Speaker 5: I know that's you know, the haters. I'm not I'm
- 54:14Speaker 5: not trying to go down that road either. He played
- 54:17Speaker 5: against who we played against. I just think that he's
- 54:20Speaker 5: got he's got a ways to go to sort of
- 54:24Speaker 5: catch up as a quarterback. He hasn't really played quarterback
- 54:27Speaker 5: very much throughout the summer. I don't like, I'm trying
- 54:30Speaker 5: to look at what they're gonna do not you know, well,
- 54:34Speaker 5: Mallie Cunningham can be a B and C like he
- 54:37Speaker 5: has taking very few reps as a quarterback in camp,
- 54:41Speaker 5: and we've been there every We had fourteen practices and
- 54:46Speaker 5: I would say the last couple we got to see
- 54:48Speaker 5: a handful of plays. And I think there's a reason
- 54:51Speaker 5: for that. And like I said, sort of work shopping
- 54:54Speaker 5: this a little bit, talking to to Deuce about it,
- 54:57Speaker 5: a little bit.
- 54:59Speaker 1: St off.
- 55:01Speaker 5: And then you're running like a quarterback draw or a
- 55:04Speaker 5: read option against the first defense. And people are like,
- 55:08Speaker 5: these are significant reps against the first defense, Like I don't.
- 55:12Speaker 1: Think they are. I think they're scout for the defense, right.
- 55:16Speaker 5: And I think what's happened since it was obviously a
- 55:21Speaker 5: great situation for Belichick that he played well on that drive.
- 55:24Speaker 5: He led a like a nine minute drive for a
- 55:27Speaker 5: touchdown the other night to close the game out. So
- 55:29Speaker 5: that's really good for Bill because now everyone's talking about it.
- 55:32Speaker 5: You hear my shows people calling left and right saying
- 55:36Speaker 5: this guy should stock, this guy should stop, you know.
- 55:40Speaker 5: And I think Bill likes that because I think Philadelphia
- 55:44Speaker 5: is probably listening, like they got a package for him,
- 55:49Speaker 5: right that we have to worry about now. We have
- 55:51Speaker 5: to be prepared with, you know, a wildcat kind of
- 55:54Speaker 5: package for for Malie Cunningham and that you know he
- 55:58Speaker 5: can throw. That's a whole different dynamic than Mac Jones
- 56:01Speaker 5: and Bailey z Appy provide.
- 56:03Speaker 1: Yeah, he probably likes this. By the way, during the break,
- 56:09Speaker 1: Paul polished off a twenty ounce diet pepsi and that
- 56:12Speaker 1: wasn't enough. He brought out a two liter bottle first
- 56:14Speaker 1: of all.
- 56:15Speaker 5: After that the diapepsi I had was at the start
- 56:17Speaker 5: of the show. That's that's misleading.
- 56:19Speaker 1: It was twenty ounce. That's just poor to me.
- 56:21Speaker 5: That would last me to just like you know, we
- 56:24Speaker 5: were talking about the whole Tebow and Cunningham thing. I
- 56:26Speaker 5: wanted to look and see how how different the numbers were.
- 56:29Speaker 5: And it's what I said. Cunningham is more dynamic. He
- 56:34Speaker 5: rushed for three and seventy nine yards in fifty touchdowns
- 56:38Speaker 5: in five years at Louisville. Tebow rushed for two nine
- 56:42Speaker 5: and forty seven yards in fifty seven touchdowns in four
- 56:46Speaker 5: years at Florida. So four point three yards of carry
- 56:52Speaker 5: for Tebow, five point one for Cunningham. Also a whole
- 56:57Speaker 5: extra year for Cunningham. He did it in five years. Yeah,
- 57:00Speaker 5: but he played over fifty games, had fewer touchdowns, the
- 57:04Speaker 5: same amount of yards in a better average per carry
- 57:07Speaker 5: for Cunningham. So they're very similar. They just run in
- 57:10Speaker 5: a different style. The production is very very similar.
- 57:15Speaker 1: But Tebo's style in the NFL would never make He's
- 57:18Speaker 1: not fast enough.
- 57:18Speaker 5: Well, how do you know that Cunningham style is going
- 57:20Speaker 5: to work in the NFL? He played against the lower
- 57:22Speaker 5: level faster than Tbo.
- 57:24Speaker 1: Did that style, And I forget about the play.
- 57:27Speaker 5: What about when he gets hit? Forget about the style?
- 57:29Speaker 1: What about when he gets hit? Hit a lot? Because
- 57:31Speaker 1: elusive like Lamar Jackson, Oh, I know, he never gets
- 57:35Speaker 1: hit and never gets hurt. He does get hurt, but
- 57:39Speaker 1: he does avoid a lot of contact. Lamar Jackson and
- 57:42Speaker 1: he's constantly injured. Well, right, the last injury had had
- 57:46Speaker 1: nothing to do with that big injury. He had nothing
- 57:48Speaker 1: to do with running. Remember it happened in the pocket,
- 57:52Speaker 1: So don't thought they didn't get hit. The whole the
- 57:56Speaker 1: whole point was it was hit. It wasn't running. He
- 57:58Speaker 1: wasn't running at the time. Ravens fans backed me up there, Matt.
- 58:04Speaker 5: And by the way, Lamar Jackson blows away Millie cunning him.
- 58:06Speaker 5: They played at the same school.
- 58:07Speaker 1: Well, Lamar Jackson's like an MVP. Come on, man, Matt's
- 58:12Speaker 1: in Seattle. First a reaction. I'm very excited about Zeke
- 58:16Speaker 1: becoming a Patriot. All we need is one good season.
- 58:18Speaker 1: Crossing my fingers, the old line can gel by October. Second,
- 58:22Speaker 1: how would you describe the team's attitude or moved so far?
- 58:25Speaker 1: I listened to the player's post practice interviews, and I
- 58:28Speaker 1: like what I hear. They seem super confident. Really, you
- 58:34Speaker 1: don't like what you mean?
- 58:34Speaker 5: I would say, yes, I wouldn't say I don't like
- 58:36Speaker 5: what I hear, but I haven't heard any super confidence.
- 58:39Speaker 7: I would say yesterday there was a lot of positive
- 58:42Speaker 7: energy after practice, but I mean it was also coming
- 58:45Speaker 7: from guys who didn't play, like the preseason game, like
- 58:49Speaker 7: it was all people who were just watching, you know.
- 58:53Speaker 7: And the people they were asked about was like Malie
- 58:56Speaker 7: Cunningham and like isn't exciting to watch him?
- 58:58Speaker 3: And it's like first there's all positive of things to say.
- 59:01Speaker 1: Yeah, it's always the shiny night, the shiny new object. Yeah,
- 59:06Speaker 1: Jack and Anne Abba. On multiple occasions, members of the
- 59:10Speaker 1: PU team have opined that the Patriots will not and
- 59:13Speaker 1: need not extend Mike and Whenu's contract because guard is
- 59:17Speaker 1: not an important enough position to justify the investment. If
- 59:21Speaker 1: that's the case, then on one used successor should already
- 59:24Speaker 1: be on the roster because the use of a first
- 59:26Speaker 1: round pick on cold Strande showed us what happens when
- 59:29Speaker 1: the Patriots enter the draft with a vacancy in their lineup.
- 59:32Speaker 1: Antonio Maffi has been the best of the rookie lineman,
- 59:35Speaker 1: but he has not shown that he's ready to replace
- 59:37Speaker 1: in Whenu. Russy, Hines, Murray, and Florence are destined for
- 59:42Speaker 1: the practice squad. Therefore, the Patriots are going to have
- 59:45Speaker 1: to replace on when U through either free agency, a trade,
- 59:47Speaker 1: or the draft with uncertain results. Wait a minute. Can
- 59:50Speaker 1: I just stop this email in the middle? Sure?
- 59:52Speaker 5: A couple of things I have wrong. You're putting words
- 59:54Speaker 5: in the entire PU staff's mouth.
- 59:58Speaker 1: I didn't say that.
- 59:58Speaker 5: They won't resign, will when you I didn't say that.
- 1:00:02Speaker 5: I mean maybe maybe Evan and Mike have said that.
- 1:00:05Speaker 5: I don't say that they won't. I don't know what
- 1:00:07Speaker 5: they'll do. I would not if it were me. Now,
- 1:00:11Speaker 5: why is it because Antonio Maffi might not be ready
- 1:00:14Speaker 5: to be better than Michael when you right now mean
- 1:00:16Speaker 5: that he won't be at the end of the year, Like,
- 1:00:20Speaker 5: why is that not a suitable replacement at the end
- 1:00:22Speaker 5: of the year. Maybe he develops because I think he's
- 1:00:25Speaker 5: going to have to play this year. Maybe he develops,
- 1:00:28Speaker 5: and maybe they feel good about him taking over next year.
- 1:00:30Speaker 5: Why is that a bad plan? That's what they used
- 1:00:32Speaker 5: to do, right, They used to have a guy on
- 1:00:34Speaker 5: the roster for a year ready to take over the
- 1:00:36Speaker 5: next year.
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: Maybe Jack's getting it worried before he needs to be worried, yeap, Like.
- 1:00:43Speaker 5: I think that they drafted three interior offensive linemen on
- 1:00:46Speaker 5: day three. The odds are that one of those guys
- 1:00:50Speaker 5: is going to be okay, Right, don't you think. I
- 1:00:52Speaker 5: don't know, Like, if you draft three guys in the
- 1:00:56Speaker 5: fourth round.
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: I would think one of them would be Chances are.
- 1:00:59Speaker 5: One of them is going to be a reasonably good player.
- 1:01:01Speaker 5: Maybe he won't be as good as a one. You
- 1:01:02Speaker 5: I think a one us really good. But I don't
- 1:01:05Speaker 5: see why you can't plug in a guard. I just
- 1:01:07Speaker 5: don't want to go down the road that they went
- 1:01:09Speaker 5: the last time with Shaq Mason and Joe Toney and
- 1:01:13Speaker 5: you know, expend a lot of resources to keep those guys.
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: If the Patriots had already extended and when you they
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: would not have had to select three interior linemen in
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: the last draft, but instead could have used one or
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: more of those picks to draft a tackle, which is
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: by far the most problematic position on the team.
- 1:01:27Speaker 5: And there's the flaw because now, if you're going to
- 1:01:30Speaker 5: get a tackle in the fourth or fifth round, he's
- 1:01:33Speaker 5: not going to be talented enough to step in, whereas
- 1:01:36Speaker 5: that's where guards get taken.
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:01:39Speaker 5: Yeah, you can get interior offensive lineman in the middle
- 1:01:42Speaker 5: of the draft. It's hard to get a stud tackle
- 1:01:44Speaker 5: in the middle of the draft. Those guys usually go
- 1:01:47Speaker 5: in the first round.
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: Ford and Savannah is a comedian. He's got a couple
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: riddles for us. Why should we be optimistic about the
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: Patriots wide receivers? What's the end, sir? Because Douglass is
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: half full Douglas. Oh, what did the Patriots defense say
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: to all the doubters this season? Proved them wrong? Oh
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: my god, that's bad. That's really bad. That's worse than
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: the first one. Yeah, that's really bad.
- 1:02:26Speaker 7: For some reason, I was expecting the first one to
- 1:02:28Speaker 7: be stink snak stunk something to.
- 1:02:30Speaker 14: Do with that.
- 1:02:33Speaker 3: But that was good?
- 1:02:34Speaker 7: Like that?
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: Okay, you like that? Puney, Mitch and albany I remember
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: a big topic during the off season was that for
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: the offense to be successful, Taekwon Thworton needs to improve
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: and have a productive year. I'm wondering if you guys
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: still feel that way or if Tomario, Douglas, and maybe
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: Boute have changed your opinion on Taekwon's role in the offense.
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: I think they could still be successful without Taekwon having
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: a breakout year because of the other receiver is also,
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: I never received my Trivia T shirt back in April.
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: Good job, Matt, I haven't got your T shirt. Just
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: email me your address.
- 1:03:07Speaker 14: I will get them out again.
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: Just email your address to web radio at Patriots dot
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: com and Matt. Matt has a problem with the postal office.
- 1:03:16Speaker 6: There's a lot of people that have gotten their shirts.
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: Yeah, I think that what we can strive for one
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: hundred in this endeavor.
- 1:03:24Speaker 14: I agree.
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: I agree. I don't think we're asking too much.
- 1:03:31Speaker 5: I think Thoughton is an important guy, and that's one
- 1:03:34Speaker 5: of the things I did talk about during the game
- 1:03:35Speaker 5: the other night, just because I feel like his skill
- 1:03:39Speaker 5: set's a little different than anybody else they have. They
- 1:03:41Speaker 5: don't have the straight line speed. No one else has
- 1:03:44Speaker 5: the size and speed combination that he provides. I think
- 1:03:47Speaker 5: if he were to turn into a really good receiver,
- 1:03:49Speaker 5: I think it could be somewhat of a game changer
- 1:03:51Speaker 5: for the offense. That's why I pick him. I don't
- 1:03:54Speaker 5: think that you can't move the ball if he's not good.
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: I don't think that.
- 1:03:58Speaker 5: But I think if your offense is going to get
- 1:03:59Speaker 5: to a level that it we currently don't see, it
- 1:04:02Speaker 5: will be because of a guy like that making an impact.
- 1:04:05Speaker 5: That's why I wanted Hopkins.
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: Going back to the half full of the glass. You're
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: one of your guys Tommy Kurrn had to take that
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: they've seen enough of Douglas in practice, which is why
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: he only played two plays.
- 1:04:21Speaker 5: Well, the guys that played a lot in practice did
- 1:04:25Speaker 5: not play in the game. That's what Bill said. He's
- 1:04:27Speaker 5: played a lot in practice.
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: Every day, he has played a lot. But do you
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: believe that they've seen enough for him to say this
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: guy's making the team? Yes?
- 1:04:35Speaker 7: Okay, and remember they also saw him in Vegas too,
- 1:04:37Speaker 7: so it's like they've seen him a bunch.
- 1:04:40Speaker 5: I think he's on the team. Yeah, okay, you don't
- 1:04:43Speaker 5: like put a guy on ice that you you don't
- 1:04:45Speaker 5: know if he's good enough.
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: To even be on your team.
- 1:04:49Speaker 5: So now what that means in terms of his role,
- 1:04:52Speaker 5: I think people are getting out of control with That's.
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: What my next question is, where should the expectation level
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: be set? He's on the team. Yeah, but what about contribution?
- 1:05:03Speaker 3: M We'll see got a crawl before he can walk.
- 1:05:07Speaker 5: I mean, I would think that they're going to give
- 1:05:10Speaker 5: him an opportunity to work out of the slot, you know,
- 1:05:16Speaker 5: behind Juju.
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: Can he be as good as Dion what was his name,
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: branch No, Dion who was a little scat back that
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: we had came in in Lewis for he was electric
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: for like three games Deon Lewis for three games or
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: three years. Dean Lewis wasn't that good for three years
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: before Samara, so she didn't back me in. He had
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: that one good year. Really, Dean Lewis was a good
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: player for a couple of years. Yeah. Good, But like
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: when he first came in, he was breaking ankles until
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: teams started game planning for him.
- 1:05:50Speaker 5: No, well, he tore his a cl on one of
- 1:05:52Speaker 5: those cuts where he broke a guy's ankle.
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: That's right against Washington. Yeah, like, but he never goes
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: back to that. He never got back to that. He
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: was a good player.
- 1:06:04Speaker 5: I don't know how long I can look up his
- 1:06:05Speaker 5: Patriot stats, but but he was.
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: He was a good player. I don't think. I don't
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: think that that's when he first came in, he was like,
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: this guy's amazed. But he was a third down back.
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: I don't.
- 1:06:14Speaker 5: I mean, I know that people think that to Mario
- 1:06:16Speaker 5: Douglas can be a third downback. I shouldn't say that.
- 1:06:18Speaker 5: I shouldn't blame everybody else. Chris Price has thrown that
- 1:06:21Speaker 5: theory out there. I want to credit him.
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: For I just wanted to be a good slot.
- 1:06:26Speaker 5: I don't yeah, I don't think that he's too small
- 1:06:29Speaker 5: to be. I think like Jane Lewis was tiny in
- 1:06:33Speaker 5: terms of height, why but but much more stout but small,
- 1:06:39Speaker 5: not this small.
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: No, Oh, come on, Wes Welker was a small guy.
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: He was. I mean, the football was bigger than him.
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: Like the way he would carry I know exactly what
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: you're talking. You know, it was like football made him
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: look small. But this guy is really smaller.
- 1:06:54Speaker 5: I just wonder of him being able to hold up
- 1:06:57Speaker 5: going across the middle. Listen ed Onman and Welker small.
- 1:07:00Speaker 5: Troy Brown was small too.
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: He's bigger now than when he played.
- 1:07:04Speaker 5: But they proved to be able to withstand that physical punishment.
- 1:07:07Speaker 5: There's a lot of other guys that don't. We'll see
- 1:07:10Speaker 5: if he can.
- 1:07:11Speaker 1: I know, let's see l from Wisconsin. Paul fred is
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: one hundred per Oh he's saying, I'm I thought he
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: was saying, you're one hundred percent. Paul fred is one
- 1:07:22Speaker 1: hundred percent right about his hard knocks take. It shows
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: that the Jets culture is something that would never fly
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: in Foxborough. And as we all know, since the Patriots
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: are the only team to win the Super Bowl in
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: recent years. It is objectively the best way to do it. Wait,
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: hold on, that doesn't seem right. So he's actually making
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: fun of me.
- 1:07:40Speaker 5: But I'm not, by the way, I'm not poo pooing
- 1:07:43Speaker 5: your your hard knocks.
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: Standing by just disagreeing with it. I'm standing by my
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: take right.
- 1:07:47Speaker 5: But the part that's unfortunately is no one ever gets proven.
- 1:07:51Speaker 5: Like most of our arguments, we can never prove each
- 1:07:53Speaker 5: other right or wrong, because if they play really good,
- 1:07:56Speaker 5: it doesn't mean it's because they were on hort knocks
- 1:08:00Speaker 5: and they you know whatever, or or conversely, if they
- 1:08:03Speaker 5: played badly. I personally think if Aaron Rodgers is good,
- 1:08:08Speaker 5: the Jets will be good. If he's not, they won't
- 1:08:09Speaker 5: be It's too hard to win without a court. I
- 1:08:12Speaker 5: mean you saw that last year. Yeah, I'm looking at
- 1:08:18Speaker 5: Dean Lewis. He was here three years fifteen, sixteen, and seventeen.
- 1:08:23Speaker 5: But he was Yeah, he was a good player, not
- 1:08:25Speaker 5: a great player, just but he was. He was pretty productive.
- 1:08:29Speaker 5: And I didn't realize this. He had a really big
- 1:08:31Speaker 5: year with Tennessee the year after he left the Patriots.
- 1:08:34Speaker 5: I didn't remember that he had his career highs and
- 1:08:36Speaker 5: receptions in yards with Tennessee.
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: Oh yeah, oh yeah with Tennessee.
- 1:08:40Speaker 5: Right yeah, but he ever stove for ten yards to
- 1:08:42Speaker 5: catch his first year with New England.
- 1:08:44Speaker 1: Yeah, that's so he was dynamic. I mean the move
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: for a third.
- 1:08:48Speaker 5: Down back, that's that's That's a lot. I liked Dean Lewis.
- 1:08:52Speaker 5: I thought he was one of those guys that that
- 1:08:55Speaker 5: really injected the offense with a with some electricity.
- 1:08:59Speaker 1: Let's say, Matt says, hey, Fred, love you. This podcast
- 1:09:03Speaker 1: was in the car with seven of us on a
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: road trip. They all chuckled when you started talking. I'm
- 1:09:08Speaker 1: from Lemonster, they all, they're all from an island in
- 1:09:11Speaker 1: Louisiana accent. They're the ones to talk. They said, wow,
- 1:09:16Speaker 1: can you you can tell he's from Boston. Then they said,
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: after one hour, how in the world can they talk
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: about the Patriots practice for two hours? We find a way.
- 1:09:25Speaker 5: You should have seen it right in the heart of
- 1:09:27Speaker 5: training camp. But I think I was writing about it
- 1:09:30Speaker 5: for two hours and then talking about it for two long.
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: The funny thing is this guy made his friends from
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: Louisiana listen to our two hour podcasts in the car,
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: right you know, no music, Patriots unfiltered and I just
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: hate the Jets. I just hate oh like they have
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: they have the same attitude now as when Rex Ryan
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: was there. It's like, oh, oh, just and then they
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: start losing.
- 1:09:55Speaker 5: And then at least when Rex Ryan was there, they
- 1:09:57Speaker 5: were really good. They just couldn't be they couldn't get
- 1:10:00Speaker 5: over the hump and win the AFC championship.
- 1:10:02Speaker 1: But for a three year span they went toe to
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: toe with us. Oh yeah, and no one, no one
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: did that at the time. No, you're right right, you know,
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: and they just weren't.
- 1:10:11Speaker 5: Like it's just hard to overcome the gap between Mark
- 1:10:13Speaker 5: Sanchez and Tom Brady.
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: Yeah. Let's see Robin san Diego via Connecticut. Walk me
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: off the negativity, Cliff, please, I see the Zeke signing
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: as a net bad. They signed him to more than
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: just depth at six million. To me, that means two
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: draft picks, Kevin Harris and Pierre Strong aren't showing what
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: they need to. It also means that the free agent
- 1:10:36Speaker 1: acquisition of Time Montgomery is questionable. But lastly, we let
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: Damien Harris walk to a division rival for a three
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: point seven five million contract.
- 1:10:45Speaker 5: One point seven that's what that's what Damien Harris got
- 1:10:50Speaker 5: in net.
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: We ended up paying at least two and something mill
- 1:10:54Speaker 1: for more for a replacement. Yeah, the six million is
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: if he hits all this right.
- 1:10:58Speaker 5: It's but it's four million in for Ezekiel Elliott without insensive.
- 1:11:02Speaker 5: I think it's a three million dollar base salary and
- 1:11:04Speaker 5: a one million dollar signing bonus, right and Damien Harris,
- 1:11:08Speaker 5: so that's quote unquote if he's on, If Elliott's on
- 1:11:11Speaker 5: the team, he'd be guaranteed four million. Harris I believe
- 1:11:16Speaker 5: is guaranteed one point seven.
- 1:11:19Speaker 1: Juan in Monterey, Mexico says, if Malik in these joint
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: practices can shine just a little bit, could he become
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: a Taysoon Hill role type in sort of a wildcat
- 1:11:29Speaker 1: quarterback option.
- 1:11:30Speaker 5: I think that's kind of what we're talking about, is,
- 1:11:33Speaker 5: you know, is.
- 1:11:34Speaker 1: Is he going to be worth?
- 1:11:35Speaker 5: And Fred I want to get into this because I'm
- 1:11:37Speaker 5: curious what your thoughts are. They re established the emergency
- 1:11:42Speaker 5: quarterback rule, so you would have the opportunity to do
- 1:11:46Speaker 5: that if you wanted to. If you wanted to keep
- 1:11:48Speaker 5: all three quarterbacks on your active roster, they have to
- 1:11:50Speaker 5: be on the active roster on game day, and would
- 1:11:54Speaker 5: you name Bailey Zappi your your emergency quarterback? Would would
- 1:12:00Speaker 5: allow you to play Cunningham anytime during the game that
- 1:12:02Speaker 5: you wanted, because that's the way you'd have to do it.
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: I would do that, Okay.
- 1:12:07Speaker 5: Now the drawing the drawback to that is if Mac
- 1:12:10Speaker 5: gets hurt, you have no quarterback, right because now you
- 1:12:13Speaker 5: have to go cunning him full time until the fourth
- 1:12:15Speaker 5: quarter because the emergency the emergency quarterback can't play unless
- 1:12:21Speaker 5: the other two are unavailable.
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: So what you're saying is you don't have the roster
- 1:12:24Speaker 1: spot for him as a wide receiver elak, you wouldn't
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: carry him on game days.
- 1:12:30Speaker 5: But what I'm saying is if well you could, then
- 1:12:33Speaker 5: you can play them anytime you want. So then you
- 1:12:35Speaker 5: don't have to use the emergency quarterback, right you could
- 1:12:38Speaker 5: do that. Yeah, that would be a way around it.
- 1:12:41Speaker 1: That's a good workgound. But now so just so you know,
- 1:12:44Speaker 1: it's because of that. That's the thing.
- 1:12:45Speaker 5: Now, I like your workaround because if you take it
- 1:12:50Speaker 5: a step further, what did they start doing with Malie
- 1:12:52Speaker 5: Cunningham at practice Yesterday's working a little bit as a
- 1:12:55Speaker 5: gunner on special teams? So what a backup wide receivers
- 1:12:59Speaker 5: need to do. I need to contribute on special teams.
- 1:13:02Speaker 5: So it's not a bad thought if you want to
- 1:13:04Speaker 5: have a package of plays that involve Cunningham without risking
- 1:13:09Speaker 5: a roster you know the game. If something happens to
- 1:13:11Speaker 5: Mac Jones, that's a way to do it. You just
- 1:13:14Speaker 5: have him active. You don't have an emergency quarterback. You
- 1:13:16Speaker 5: just have him active, and then you need to have.
- 1:13:18Speaker 1: Him beat somebody out for special teams. Right, Kevin and
- 1:13:22Speaker 1: Dublin writing in again to say that the first time
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: I heard Paul's voice back around twenty fourteen, I thought
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: it was Ben Affleck. For a second, I googled Paul's
- 1:13:31Speaker 1: name on Google Images, expecting a doppel gang or of Ben.
- 1:13:35Speaker 1: I was prompably.
- 1:13:36Speaker 5: I'm sorry to disappoint even I think he's good looking.
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: Really I Beneffleck. He's a good looking guy. Okay, Samaraw,
- 1:13:45Speaker 1: do you co sign on that or no, I do.
- 1:13:47Speaker 3: I'm just stuck at the way you pronounced it.
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: He does that on purpose. It's easier to say than
- 1:13:53Speaker 1: Ben Affleck.
- 1:13:54Speaker 5: Yeah, sorry, sorry disappointed? Who was that that had been Benfleck?
- 1:13:59Speaker 1: Was that a woman? That guy? Okay, Kevin from Dublin.
- 1:14:02Speaker 5: Okay, because if it was a woman, it would be
- 1:14:04Speaker 5: I'd have to apologize a little extra for disappointing you.
- 1:14:08Speaker 1: Anthony writes in have you guys seen the Johnny Manziel
- 1:14:11Speaker 1: documentary on Netflix? It's so interesting? Yes, I with all
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: that talent, we just couldn't get his crap together.
- 1:14:17Speaker 3: I didn't see it, but I've heard about it.
- 1:14:20Speaker 1: I heard it kind of makes some sort of a
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: sympathetic character. A lot of people let him down, you know.
- 1:14:27Speaker 7: I was seeing that on Twitter, like people were saying,
- 1:14:29Speaker 7: like everyone failed him.
- 1:14:30Speaker 1: Yeah. I didn't really see it that way. I like
- 1:14:33Speaker 1: they knew what he was doing at Texas A and
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: M and they let him do it. Anyway.
- 1:14:36Speaker 5: Yeah, there's I mean there's an element of that.
- 1:14:39Speaker 1: I thought.
- 1:14:40Speaker 5: I did watch it. I think it's definitely it's it's quick,
- 1:14:42Speaker 5: it's a little over an hour. I thought it got
- 1:14:46Speaker 5: off to a really good start, the first half hour
- 1:14:48Speaker 5: forty minutes or so, really strong, and I thought it
- 1:14:50Speaker 5: petered out mostly the high school and college stuff I
- 1:14:54Speaker 5: found really interesting. Then when he went to the pros,
- 1:14:57Speaker 5: I thought they just glossed over everything. I thought the
- 1:14:59Speaker 5: agent was kind of of a loud mouth.
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: It's I think that one thing.
- 1:15:07Speaker 5: I think that people would say that they all benefited
- 1:15:09Speaker 5: off of him and that's why they kept it. Like
- 1:15:11Speaker 5: a guy like Cliff Kingsbury. I've seen a lot of
- 1:15:13Speaker 5: this on Twitter and it was definitely apparent watching it.
- 1:15:16Speaker 5: So he's the offensive coordinator at Texas A and m
- 1:15:18Speaker 5: he inherits Manzel Manziel blows up. What happens to Cliff Kingsbury.
- 1:15:23Speaker 5: He gets the head coaching job at Texas Tech, where
- 1:15:26Speaker 5: he gets who Patrick Mahomes, who he parlays into an
- 1:15:29Speaker 5: NFL head coaching job, you know what I mean? Like,
- 1:15:32Speaker 5: so without Manzel, he never gets that. Yeah, certainly not
- 1:15:36Speaker 5: that fast. So I think that's an example of what
- 1:15:39Speaker 5: people are talking about.
- 1:15:40Speaker 1: But it's sad.
- 1:15:42Speaker 5: It's a sad documentary because hey, it's so much wasted talent.
- 1:15:46Speaker 5: But he didn't want to do any work right like
- 1:15:49Speaker 5: they asked him. You know about film study at Cleveland.
- 1:15:52Speaker 5: He goes zero. Oh, yeah, he didn't watch.
- 1:15:56Speaker 1: Film at all at Cleveland. In Cleveland. You know the
- 1:16:00Speaker 1: one where they had the iPad and they checked out
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: the iPad. That's that's the DeMarcus Russell. Oh that was Russell.
- 1:16:06Speaker 1: I think they. I think they actually put a a
- 1:16:09Speaker 1: software on it so they could check, but.
- 1:16:11Speaker 5: They put something on it with a bunch of fake,
- 1:16:13Speaker 5: fake stuff. It wasn't even football. And they were like,
- 1:16:16Speaker 5: what did you think of that? And they go, oh, yeah,
- 1:16:17Speaker 5: it's just it's like, well, now we know you're not
- 1:16:19Speaker 5: watching it because you didn't even you didn't even open it.
- 1:16:24Speaker 3: Wasn't that in someone else's contract.
- 1:16:26Speaker 1: Recently, Kyler Murray, Kyler Murray because he was playing video games,
- 1:16:29Speaker 1: he wasn't watching film, right. See.
- 1:16:31Speaker 5: But that's where you know, the Cardinals got killed for that,
- 1:16:36Speaker 5: right They they suspected that he wasn't watching enough film,
- 1:16:39Speaker 5: and they get killed for trying to put something in
- 1:16:41Speaker 5: his contract to make him have an incentive to watch.
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:16:46Speaker 5: And then you hear these stories about these guys that
- 1:16:50Speaker 5: they're investing millions of dollars in that are watching no film.
- 1:16:52Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:16:53Speaker 5: It's not like it's coming out of nowhere that they
- 1:16:54Speaker 5: have this and it's violating his rights. It's like, I
- 1:16:59Speaker 5: just think this should be a happy medium there. But
- 1:17:02Speaker 5: the Manzell thing, I definitely would tell you if you
- 1:17:05Speaker 5: get a chance to see it, it's it's definitely worth
- 1:17:07Speaker 5: a watch. Really sad at the end, like he just says,
- 1:17:11Speaker 5: you know, he had all this money and he was
- 1:17:13Speaker 5: spending wildly, and he said, you know, my goal was
- 1:17:16Speaker 5: to spend as much money as I could and then
- 1:17:18Speaker 5: kill myself. That's what his plan was. And you know
- 1:17:23Speaker 5: he's been he was in and out of rehab a
- 1:17:25Speaker 5: couple of times. Obviously he has issues, you know, with
- 1:17:28Speaker 5: substance abuse. But but I agree with what what Fred
- 1:17:31Speaker 5: is saying. Like some people, I think you could come
- 1:17:34Speaker 5: off and say that that was somewhat of a sympathetic figure.
- 1:17:38Speaker 5: So well, I mean I think it's definitely worth a watch.
- 1:17:44Speaker 5: Definitely worth a watch.
- 1:17:46Speaker 3: Is that on Netflix?
- 1:17:48Speaker 7: Uh?
- 1:17:49Speaker 5: Yeah, it was on Netflix. I watched I think on Friday,
- 1:17:51Speaker 5: the day after the game. You know, when you're sort
- 1:17:53Speaker 5: of unwinding, you know, yeah.
- 1:17:57Speaker 1: There you go.
- 1:17:59Speaker 5: And like I said, I thought that the college stuff
- 1:18:02Speaker 5: at A.
- 1:18:02Speaker 1: And M was really good.
- 1:18:04Speaker 5: Now he was taking it, taking money handover fist. I
- 1:18:07Speaker 5: mean they he was signing autographs with his he had
- 1:18:11Speaker 5: a high school buddy that was sort of orchestrating all
- 1:18:13Speaker 5: these deals for him, and he was making all kinds
- 1:18:16Speaker 5: of money and just babing, you know, like the money sit,
- 1:18:18Speaker 5: you know the stuff. He was basically mocking everybody like
- 1:18:21Speaker 5: he was, and they somehow convinced them. He somehow convinced
- 1:18:26Speaker 5: them that it wasn't as big of a deal as
- 1:18:29Speaker 5: to Fred's point, it was like a lot of people
- 1:18:32Speaker 5: let him down by not stepping in and putting a
- 1:18:35Speaker 5: stop to it.
- 1:18:36Speaker 3: Wow, I need to watch that. And is that Quarterback?
- 1:18:40Speaker 3: Is that on Netflix?
- 1:18:41Speaker 1: Too? Yeah?
- 1:18:41Speaker 5: I think Quarterback is. I haven't watched any of that.
- 1:18:44Speaker 5: I heard people say it was kind of boring, so
- 1:18:46Speaker 5: I never really never really tried to watch it. The
- 1:18:51Speaker 5: Man's health, Like I I just I can't remember too
- 1:18:56Speaker 5: many guys that I watched play in college that were
- 1:18:58Speaker 5: as as just fun to watch in dynamic as he was,
- 1:19:02Speaker 5: especially that first year. The second year, you can see why,
- 1:19:05Speaker 5: like he was great the second year too, but they
- 1:19:07Speaker 5: ended up losing three or four games. I think they
- 1:19:09Speaker 5: lost four games the second year, and you can see
- 1:19:12Speaker 5: why because they were so undisciplined.
- 1:19:13Speaker 1: And he was the leader. Yep, And he was the
- 1:19:16Speaker 1: one who was the most undisciplined.
- 1:19:17Speaker 5: They showed a clip in high school, like he gets
- 1:19:20Speaker 5: in and the guy calls a play. They're backed up
- 1:19:23Speaker 5: at like their ten yard line or something like that,
- 1:19:25Speaker 5: and they call his play and he takes it. It was
- 1:19:26Speaker 5: like his first play and he like runs for a
- 1:19:28Speaker 5: touchdown and it got called back for a penalty. So
- 1:19:31Speaker 5: they called the same play and he ran ninety five
- 1:19:33Speaker 5: yards or a touchdown.
- 1:19:36Speaker 1: Like he was just that good.
- 1:19:38Speaker 5: Didn't put a lot of time into it, didn't put
- 1:19:40Speaker 5: a lot of off the field. Like when he was
- 1:19:42Speaker 5: on the field, he wanted to play, otherwise he had
- 1:19:45Speaker 5: no interest.
- 1:19:45Speaker 7: I can only imagine if he would have like just
- 1:19:48Speaker 7: had the work ethic off the field, how good he
- 1:19:51Speaker 7: would have been.
- 1:19:53Speaker 5: And I really do think he could have been. He
- 1:19:55Speaker 5: could have been special. I mean he was a little
- 1:19:56Speaker 5: small and that was the knock on him, but like
- 1:19:59Speaker 5: he could And even they had this whole thing Freddy
- 1:20:02Speaker 5: Ye heading into the combine. They were trying to like
- 1:20:05Speaker 5: the agent was trying to keep him clean, knowing he's
- 1:20:07Speaker 5: gonna get drug tested.
- 1:20:08Speaker 1: At the combine.
- 1:20:10Speaker 5: And he had gone like weeks with nothing, had done nothing,
- 1:20:15Speaker 5: and he was really on the straight and narrow. Like
- 1:20:17Speaker 5: two days before the combine, he calls him.
- 1:20:20Speaker 1: He calls the agent. It's like, man, you know, I
- 1:20:25Speaker 1: slipped up, you know.
- 1:20:26Speaker 5: And they go through this long dramatic thing of these
- 1:20:29Speaker 5: stories that the agent came up. Do you remember when
- 1:20:31Speaker 5: Manziell was in college and the and the word was
- 1:20:33Speaker 5: that is he came from a lot of money. Yeah,
- 1:20:36Speaker 5: that completely false.
- 1:20:37Speaker 1: Oh was that right?
- 1:20:38Speaker 5: Yeah, that was why he had all of these fancy
- 1:20:41Speaker 5: cars and things because he had oil money.
- 1:20:43Speaker 1: Yeah. It was all fake, really, all orchestrated by the agent. Huh.
- 1:20:48Speaker 5: Yeah, And they were gonna so who's this agent? Kevin
- 1:20:52Speaker 5: Burkhardt sounds like Yeah, I thought he came across as
- 1:20:57Speaker 5: you would say, that was just poor to me.
- 1:20:58Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, there's a lot.
- 1:21:00Speaker 5: Of stuff, but we have anything we have emergency is
- 1:21:03Speaker 5: about no, okay, okay, because Fred was a little distracted
- 1:21:06Speaker 5: for a while. But the Menzel thing is worth worth
- 1:21:08Speaker 5: a watch. Okay, it's a quick one.
- 1:21:10Speaker 1: Okay, I'll have.
- 1:21:11Speaker 3: To take a break from lawn order to watch it.
- 1:21:13Speaker 1: Yeah, might be a law and order show at some point.
- 1:21:17Speaker 1: You never know with him.
- 1:21:19Speaker 5: Oh they've had they've had uh NFL related law and orders.
- 1:21:23Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I did see one. I have seen one recently.
- 1:21:27Speaker 1: David and Bethlehem says, if Cunningham has another public exposition, hint, hint,
- 1:21:32Speaker 1: he will be hard to pass waivers to get on
- 1:21:34Speaker 1: the practice squad might be too late already. So with
- 1:21:37Speaker 1: Zeke in town, there are now two less roster spots
- 1:21:40Speaker 1: for wide receivers. Please list the wide receivers who make
- 1:21:44Speaker 1: it and who's on the bubble. M Well wait a minute, yeah,
- 1:21:49Speaker 1: why is Zeke affecting the wide receivers.
- 1:21:52Speaker 5: Yeah, Like, I don't think they weren't going to only
- 1:21:55Speaker 5: keep three running backs right right? They usually have four
- 1:21:59Speaker 5: or five, right, So I don't think Zeke has taking
- 1:22:02Speaker 5: a roster spot from someone because I think they were
- 1:22:04Speaker 5: going to have four, at least four I have, Like
- 1:22:07Speaker 5: I put up notes this morning and I had a
- 1:22:09Speaker 5: little roster projection. I know Evan's been doing them as well.
- 1:22:13Speaker 5: I had four. I had Harris Strong, remandre In, Ezekiel Elliott.
- 1:22:20Speaker 5: But I don't think there was any way he was
- 1:22:22Speaker 5: going to have only three, not for any length of time. Now,
- 1:22:25Speaker 5: maybe when the opening fifty three is announced, that's the
- 1:22:28Speaker 5: way it was gonna be. But someone was gonna get added.
- 1:22:32Speaker 5: So I don't think that takes away a spot. The
- 1:22:34Speaker 5: Cunningham thing is interesting. I don't know how you feel
- 1:22:38Speaker 5: about this, but I would think a quarterback would be
- 1:22:42Speaker 5: easier to get through waivers than other positions because of
- 1:22:45Speaker 5: the time it takes to you need a quarter like it.
- 1:22:50Speaker 5: I mean, I could see a team that doesn't really
- 1:22:53Speaker 5: feel like they're ready yet. Oh I was really interested
- 1:22:56Speaker 5: in cunning him as a quarterback. He's available, We're gonna
- 1:22:58Speaker 5: claim him.
- 1:22:59Speaker 1: But then you got to keep.
- 1:23:00Speaker 5: Them right And what's he gonna do for you? Like
- 1:23:02Speaker 5: he doesn't know your offense. You have to put him
- 1:23:04Speaker 5: on your roster for a few weeks, Like.
- 1:23:07Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't know if I see anybody claiming him.
- 1:23:09Speaker 5: Yeah, And I'm not saying he wouldn't get claimed, because
- 1:23:12Speaker 5: there's a lot of guys that end up getting claimed
- 1:23:14Speaker 5: that You're like, wow, really, he was that valuable that
- 1:23:17Speaker 5: someone claimed him, and maybe people would look at him
- 1:23:19Speaker 5: and say, oh, I could use that guy right now.
- 1:23:21Speaker 5: I can make him taste some hill to use the
- 1:23:23Speaker 5: emailer's guy. I just think as a quarterback, that's that
- 1:23:29Speaker 5: will be harder. Like you could get a running back
- 1:23:30Speaker 5: off waivers and I could plug him into my offense.
- 1:23:32Speaker 5: Just hit him in the ball, you know what I mean?
- 1:23:35Speaker 5: Quarterback is not like that.
- 1:23:37Speaker 1: Ron at Conway, New Hampshire loving the show is always
- 1:23:40Speaker 1: just a few thoughts. I'm not sure how a mild
- 1:23:42Speaker 1: separated shoulder could get Gasicky back by week one, just dislocated.
- 1:23:47Speaker 1: I've had a mild separated shoulder and it took about
- 1:23:49Speaker 1: eight weeks for me to be able to rehabit so
- 1:23:52Speaker 1: I could lift my arm. I can't imagine a tight
- 1:23:54Speaker 1: end or player of any position that can be productive
- 1:23:57Speaker 1: having that injury. I'm not a huge fan of Zeke,
- 1:23:59Speaker 1: but he has good skills for the offense. Thoughts. Also,
- 1:24:03Speaker 1: Fred and Paul, your Boston accident isn't that bad anyway?
- 1:24:07Speaker 1: Great show. Injuries are hurting us, but I have higher
- 1:24:10Speaker 1: hopes for sure.
- 1:24:11Speaker 3: What was Taekwon's injury last year?
- 1:24:14Speaker 1: Broken collarbone?
- 1:24:17Speaker 3: Yeah, that was out for a while.
- 1:24:18Speaker 5: He was Yeah, he he missed what the first three
- 1:24:21Speaker 5: weeks of the season or something like that.
- 1:24:23Speaker 1: Yeah, I think he was a little bit timid when
- 1:24:27Speaker 1: he came back, But he got hurt earlier in the
- 1:24:31Speaker 1: h I think he got hurt in the first preseason game,
- 1:24:33Speaker 1: so it would have been like in the game, so
- 1:24:34Speaker 1: not really that much earlier.
- 1:24:36Speaker 5: But yeah, I think it's optimistic for Kasiki to be
- 1:24:39Speaker 5: ready by week one. But I think the bottom line
- 1:24:41Speaker 5: is he probably won't have to open the year on IR, right,
- 1:24:45Speaker 5: if they feel like there's a chance he could be
- 1:24:47Speaker 5: ready for week one. I don't think they're going to
- 1:24:48Speaker 5: need him to be sitting out, you know, for the
- 1:24:51Speaker 5: first three weeks, which I think is the IR period
- 1:24:53Speaker 5: now right, three weeks minimum minimum three weeks?
- 1:24:56Speaker 1: Is that right? Wow? Freddy to Mario Douglas, says, Moe.
- 1:25:01Speaker 1: Based on everything you have seen from him so far,
- 1:25:04Speaker 1: including his skills he's shown in camp, as well as
- 1:25:06Speaker 1: the treatment from the coaching staff. If we had drafted
- 1:25:09Speaker 1: Zay Flowers in the first round and he did exactly
- 1:25:12Speaker 1: everything that Demario has done so far, how would your
- 1:25:15Speaker 1: assessment about his future? Would the team be short and
- 1:25:18Speaker 1: long term? So in otherwise, replace the two and what
- 1:25:21Speaker 1: would we be saying about Zay Flowers?
- 1:25:23Speaker 5: So Flowers wasn't as good as he's been reportedly in Baltimore,
- 1:25:26Speaker 5: then no, under this scenario.
- 1:25:28Speaker 1: He's done what Damario Douglas has done.
- 1:25:30Speaker 5: Right, So, according to I'm not in Baltimore, but according
- 1:25:34Speaker 5: to the people that are writing about Baltimore, this is
- 1:25:36Speaker 5: like an unbelievable draft pick. Oh yeah, Now, I don't know.
- 1:25:40Speaker 5: I have not seen him once so I'm not telling
- 1:25:42Speaker 5: you that that's true. But yeah, if he was a
- 1:25:46Speaker 5: first round pick, but I feel better about it, Yeah,
- 1:25:49Speaker 5: because that would tell me that the coaches loved him
- 1:25:51Speaker 5: and they identified a talent and he was someone that
- 1:25:55Speaker 5: everybody else thought was great.
- 1:25:57Speaker 1: Yeah, that's part of it. He's right.
- 1:25:58Speaker 5: The email is right, Like you, you mentally think of
- 1:26:02Speaker 5: a first round pick higher than you would have sixth.
- 1:26:06Speaker 5: I know what his point is. He's trying to get
- 1:26:07Speaker 5: us to say, like, oh, you're only down on him
- 1:26:10Speaker 5: because he was a sixth round pick. That is part
- 1:26:12Speaker 5: of it. He's right, the email is right. Yeah, a
- 1:26:14Speaker 5: sixth round pickout of Liberty.
- 1:26:16Speaker 1: Would you have expected more from Jay Flowers? Yes? Yeah, yeah,
- 1:26:20Speaker 1: yeah yeah.
- 1:26:21Speaker 5: If Jay Flowers was playing like the Mario Douglas, I'd
- 1:26:23Speaker 5: be disappointed, right because he's supposed to be like the
- 1:26:27Speaker 5: twentieth pick of the draft.
- 1:26:28Speaker 1: Right, Yeah, Kevin in North Providence, this is not a
- 1:26:32Speaker 1: snarky defense of our team. I'm genuinely curio curious. Don't
- 1:26:36Speaker 1: you guys feel like eighty five percent of the teams
- 1:26:38Speaker 1: in the NFL complain about their O line not being good.
- 1:26:41Speaker 1: I feel like only a hand only a handful of
- 1:26:44Speaker 1: teams feel real confident in their O line across the board.
- 1:26:47Speaker 1: I don't think that was the case fifteen or twenty
- 1:26:49Speaker 1: years ago. I feel like five step drop, long, developing
- 1:26:53Speaker 1: pocket pass plays used to happen all the time. It
- 1:26:55Speaker 1: seems like nowadays you practically need to have a mobile
- 1:26:58Speaker 1: quarterback just to extend plays. Do you agree that's the trend,
- 1:27:02Speaker 1: and if so, what do you think is the cause
- 1:27:04Speaker 1: better athletes on the D line.
- 1:27:07Speaker 5: I think that's one part of it, according to a
- 1:27:09Speaker 5: lot of people that talk about these things. And another
- 1:27:13Speaker 5: part of it is the practice. They don't get a
- 1:27:15Speaker 5: chance to hit enough. They don't have enough padded practices
- 1:27:18Speaker 5: to get really ready to play. But yeah, I agree
- 1:27:22Speaker 5: with him. I think most teams probably have some questions
- 1:27:26Speaker 5: about their offensive line.
- 1:27:27Speaker 1: Now.
- 1:27:27Speaker 5: What I differ with a lot of other people is
- 1:27:30Speaker 5: I don't think that that's a reason to not be
- 1:27:31Speaker 5: a good team. I think there are a lot of
- 1:27:33Speaker 5: good teams, Cincinnati being one of them that find a
- 1:27:36Speaker 5: way to work around suspect offensive line.
- 1:27:39Speaker 7: Play because they've had a lot of injury issues and
- 1:27:43Speaker 7: they've still.
- 1:27:43Speaker 3: Made it work.
- 1:27:44Speaker 5: The year they went to the Super Bowl was one
- 1:27:45Speaker 5: of the worst offensive lines I've ever watched, and they
- 1:27:49Speaker 5: went to the Super Bowl that year.
- 1:27:52Speaker 1: Christian writes in I think they need to put this
- 1:27:55Speaker 1: Cunningham wide receiver experiment to bed and try to develop
- 1:27:59Speaker 1: him as a quarterback. Look at the rest of the league.
- 1:28:02Speaker 1: All the great quarterbacks offer some sort of mobility. The
- 1:28:05Speaker 1: position is heading in that direction. Not saying Malik should
- 1:28:08Speaker 1: start right now, though. Paul mh.
- 1:28:12Speaker 5: I like this email. I'm I'm with that. I haven't
- 1:28:15Speaker 5: seen much as a wide receiver.
- 1:28:17Speaker 7: I don't know if you've seen anything much of anything.
- 1:28:21Speaker 1: Yeah, I would try to. I agree with the email.
- 1:28:24Speaker 5: I would think there's more value if you can find
- 1:28:27Speaker 5: a way to make him one of these next dual
- 1:28:29Speaker 5: threat mobile quarterbacks.
- 1:28:31Speaker 1: I think there's more value in that.
- 1:28:32Speaker 5: I think if he's a wide receiver, he's probably going
- 1:28:36Speaker 5: to be just a wide receiver, Whereas if he can
- 1:28:38Speaker 5: make it as a quarterback, maybe you got something special.
- 1:28:41Speaker 1: I agree with the email. Look at this. I'm agree
- 1:28:43Speaker 1: with the emails. Fred. It's like two in a row. Okay,
- 1:28:48Speaker 1: let's see Josh and Turner's falls. I'm writing to ask
- 1:28:53Speaker 1: your opinion on a hypothetical. If the Patriots stunned the
- 1:28:57Speaker 1: NFL and win in Week one? Would that change your
- 1:28:59Speaker 1: o all opinion of the team in any way other
- 1:29:02Speaker 1: than adding a win to your projected win totals. I
- 1:29:05Speaker 1: know it's a long shot. I'm just a boy looking
- 1:29:08Speaker 1: at a football team and wanting them to win for him.
- 1:29:11Speaker 1: I truly believe that this team will be ready for
- 1:29:13Speaker 1: Week one, and I'm hoping, beyond hope that they can
- 1:29:16Speaker 1: grind it out. Side note, are the PU shirts for
- 1:29:19Speaker 1: sale yet? Would love to get one, and I'm working
- 1:29:22Speaker 1: during your show, so it was nigh impossible to get
- 1:29:25Speaker 1: an email in.
- 1:29:26Speaker 5: Matt, get that out there. Well, I'd like to strive
- 1:29:28Speaker 5: for one hundred percent just saying yeah, I would say
- 1:29:33Speaker 5: that I would in general terms, I would need to
- 1:29:35Speaker 5: see how the win unfolds.
- 1:29:37Speaker 1: Right, That's what I was gonna say, Like, show me
- 1:29:40Speaker 1: what that win looks like. The Eagles just poop themselves.
- 1:29:43Speaker 5: Right, Like do they win seventeen thirteen? Because the Eagles
- 1:29:46Speaker 5: just like had a horrific day. You know that, I'm
- 1:29:49Speaker 5: not all that. I mean, obviously i'd be happy with
- 1:29:51Speaker 5: the win because I'm not expecting to win. But if
- 1:29:55Speaker 5: they you know, no one turns the ball over in
- 1:29:58Speaker 5: the game, there are no turnovers and the Patriots win,
- 1:30:00Speaker 5: say thirty one twenty seven, I'd say they can be
- 1:30:04Speaker 5: better than I thought.
- 1:30:07Speaker 1: I didn't say that. It's the super Bowl this year, Vegas.
- 1:30:09Speaker 1: Make your reservations for Vegas, so.
- 1:30:11Speaker 5: We just have an all night party. Is that our
- 1:30:13Speaker 5: theme this year?
- 1:30:13Speaker 1: Yeah? Yeah, right, yep.
- 1:30:16Speaker 3: Not done in Vegas too much.
- 1:30:18Speaker 1: I know, and we're going again this year. Yeah.
- 1:30:21Speaker 5: But yeah, if they won like a conventional game, you know,
- 1:30:24Speaker 5: when both teams trading haymakers back and forth and Mac
- 1:30:28Speaker 5: is great in the fourth quarter and that's how they win,
- 1:30:31Speaker 5: I would say Bill O'Brien's made a difference. Maybe this
- 1:30:35Speaker 5: can be better than I thought.
- 1:30:36Speaker 1: Yeah, sure, why not? Why not? Craig and Charlotte stoke
- 1:30:41Speaker 1: for joint practices, can't wait to tune in for analysis
- 1:30:44Speaker 1: with Green Bay running a version of the vic Fangio D,
- 1:30:48Speaker 1: how do you teams typically attack that? And what are
- 1:30:51Speaker 1: you watching for in joint practices to give you hope
- 1:30:54Speaker 1: we can be successful? Well, we'll hear from Evan and
- 1:30:58Speaker 1: Deuce tomorrow. Do we know what time the practices are?
- 1:31:03Speaker 3: I don't think so. I haven't seen it yet, but
- 1:31:05Speaker 3: also haven't.
- 1:31:06Speaker 1: Really looked ten thirty their time. Are they an hour
- 1:31:11Speaker 1: ahead of us or behind us? So it's eleven thirty
- 1:31:15Speaker 1: our time.
- 1:31:15Speaker 5: Yeah, we're gonna get them on Thursday, probably around one.
- 1:31:20Speaker 1: We're not on the radio tomorrow, that's right.
- 1:31:22Speaker 5: We're not in the season yet, so Thursday will have
- 1:31:25Speaker 5: me and I'll be happy to come down and do
- 1:31:27Speaker 5: a show if you want.
- 1:31:27Speaker 1: In all seriousness, we got other things.
- 1:31:29Speaker 5: Well, just because of joint practices, I thought we could
- 1:31:31Speaker 5: get a live looking.
- 1:31:33Speaker 3: I can't wait to see how one.
- 1:31:37Speaker 7: I can't wait to see how our offense does, obviously,
- 1:31:40Speaker 7: but I can't wait to see the defense just against
- 1:31:42Speaker 7: someone other than Mac Jones, and like just a different
- 1:31:45Speaker 7: style quarterback as well, like Jordan Love, bigger and a
- 1:31:51Speaker 7: little bit more mobile than Mac Jones.
- 1:31:52Speaker 1: Yeah, so on Thursday, either Mac Mac, either Deuce or
- 1:31:57Speaker 1: Evan or both. Well, we'll talk to them about Wednesday
- 1:32:00Speaker 1: practice as well as what they're seeing Thursday on Thursday.
- 1:32:03Speaker 5: Right, And I thought we could do like maybe even
- 1:32:05Speaker 5: a live update, Like I said to Mike, you know,
- 1:32:08Speaker 5: stay wherever you are and watch practice. You can sort
- 1:32:10Speaker 5: of Oh, hey, you know, Mac just threw a nice
- 1:32:13Speaker 5: ball to Kendrick. Yeah, you know, yeah, that kind of stuff.
- 1:32:16Speaker 1: I think you get one of those headsets, you know,
- 1:32:18Speaker 1: like the little bluetooth thing, so he doesn't have to
- 1:32:21Speaker 1: have his phone out he can just talk. Yeah.
- 1:32:22Speaker 5: I think it's ten thirty to uh yeah, I think
- 1:32:26Speaker 5: that the practice is at ten thirty to twelve thirty,
- 1:32:28Speaker 5: so it's like eleven thirty to one thirty for us.
- 1:32:31Speaker 5: So maybe we'll start the show on Thursday, and then
- 1:32:34Speaker 5: eventually we'll get a warm ups.
- 1:32:37Speaker 1: Yeah, we'll get a hook up. Yeah, it'd be great.
- 1:32:39Speaker 1: That'll be fun. Uh, let's get back to the Ace
- 1:32:42Speaker 1: ticket hotline eighty five five pats, five hundred marks and Everett.
- 1:32:45Speaker 1: What's up? Mark?
- 1:32:47Speaker 10: What's up?
- 1:32:48Speaker 7: Guys?
- 1:32:48Speaker 10: How are you doing good?
- 1:32:50Speaker 1: Good?
- 1:32:50Speaker 10: I just uh something on Zeke is guys. I don't
- 1:32:54Speaker 10: you know, talk too much of a Dallas band. Hate
- 1:32:56Speaker 10: us to hate Dallas, but well, Zeke brings something, some
- 1:32:59Speaker 10: sort of leadership. Don't walk for room. I mean he's
- 1:33:01Speaker 10: been in big games, he's been in the league. There's
- 1:33:03Speaker 10: really not too much leadership on offense, so I can
- 1:33:05Speaker 10: see anyways, do you think he should have come in
- 1:33:07Speaker 10: and maybe give not so much a performance as the
- 1:33:10Speaker 10: yads fifteen touchdowns? Maybe some leadership and some confidence with
- 1:33:14Speaker 10: the guys that we have.
- 1:33:15Speaker 1: I don't really know. I don't I don't know if
- 1:33:17Speaker 1: he's known for leadership. I don't know.
- 1:33:19Speaker 5: I think that he could give them some toughness. I
- 1:33:23Speaker 5: think he's a physical guy. I think he can be
- 1:33:25Speaker 5: a good good pass protector, blitz pick up and stuff
- 1:33:29Speaker 5: like that. And I think his reputation is a short
- 1:33:32Speaker 5: yardage back is is strong. I don't know if he's
- 1:33:34Speaker 5: been considered a leader, and I don't know how many
- 1:33:35Speaker 5: big games he's played in Dallas hasn't had a whole
- 1:33:39Speaker 5: lot of success lately.
- 1:33:41Speaker 10: Do you think Jeff got a better of a deal
- 1:33:42Speaker 10: then and then we did? I think we should have
- 1:33:44Speaker 10: did with.
- 1:33:44Speaker 5: The Justine No, not necessarily, but the Jets got a
- 1:33:48Speaker 5: better player right now. Dalvin Cook's a better player than
- 1:33:52Speaker 5: Ezekiel Elliott in twenty twenty three.
- 1:33:54Speaker 1: Now.
- 1:33:54Speaker 5: I think Elliott had probably a better career overall, but
- 1:33:58Speaker 5: I think Cook probably he still has something left.
- 1:34:02Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:34:02Speaker 5: I mean, I think that there was probably some interest
- 1:34:04Speaker 5: for the Patriots on both ends, and this is the
- 1:34:07Speaker 5: option they ended up getting. I found it interesting that
- 1:34:10Speaker 5: those guys didn't have a ton of options.
- 1:34:12Speaker 1: Elliott and Cook.
- 1:34:13Speaker 5: It doesn't seem like they had a lot of a
- 1:34:15Speaker 5: lot of options.
- 1:34:16Speaker 1: You know.
- 1:34:16Speaker 5: Meanwhile, like Kareem Hunt is going to these Saints, he's
- 1:34:19Speaker 5: going to the Colts, He's visiting different teams. It doesn't
- 1:34:22Speaker 5: seem like we've seen a whole lot of that from Cook.
- 1:34:25Speaker 5: It was like the Jets. Yeah, maybe money.
- 1:34:30Speaker 10: Getting these guys. I'm not going to bring anything.
- 1:34:32Speaker 1: Even Elliott, Yeah, even Elliott. I mean, like I didn't
- 1:34:38Speaker 1: hear him visiting any teams except for the Patriots. No,
- 1:34:40Speaker 1: I didn't even know he was a free agent until
- 1:34:43Speaker 1: like his name popped up.
- 1:34:44Speaker 5: I think that that was really the only offer he had. Yeah,
- 1:34:49Speaker 5: it was, you know, I know there's there's gonna be
- 1:34:52Speaker 5: a lot of talk about how he wanted to play
- 1:34:54Speaker 5: for Belichick and.
- 1:34:55Speaker 1: The plight of the running back in the NFL. It's real,
- 1:34:58Speaker 1: That's that's real.
- 1:34:59Speaker 3: I'll be interesting to see what happens with Jonathan Taylor.
- 1:35:02Speaker 5: Yeah, supposedly he's coming back into the folds now. But
- 1:35:06Speaker 5: like that's why Kareem Hunt went there, because they needed
- 1:35:09Speaker 5: some insurance there. Camara is going to be suspended at
- 1:35:12Speaker 5: the start of the season. I think they lost. The
- 1:35:13Speaker 5: Saints lost another guy. So Kareem Hunt went there. But
- 1:35:17Speaker 5: Kareem Hunt's not going to get six million or seven
- 1:35:20Speaker 5: million of whatever Cook got. He's he's gonna be much
- 1:35:24Speaker 5: cheaper than that.
- 1:35:25Speaker 1: Yeah, Claire, Hello everyone, Hello Marine, Hello Claire, she says. So,
- 1:35:31Speaker 1: I hate Rogers as much as Paul and wasn't concerned
- 1:35:33Speaker 1: about the Jets. However, They've made some good signings and
- 1:35:36Speaker 1: have good rookies, so I was concerned. However, again, five
- 1:35:40Speaker 1: minutes of PU and I think I'm all fine again.
- 1:35:42Speaker 5: Right, that's what Fred does. Fred's hatred of the Jets
- 1:35:48Speaker 5: permeates Patriots Nation.
- 1:35:50Speaker 1: It's great. It's just you know, like I don't even
- 1:35:55Speaker 1: really hate Aaron Rodgers, Like I really respect him. I
- 1:35:58Speaker 1: think he's a good player.
- 1:35:59Speaker 5: Well, respect is different thing, Like I respect the ability
- 1:36:02Speaker 5: the guys. The guy's a great place.
- 1:36:03Speaker 1: But like it's just just the team itself, the like
- 1:36:08Speaker 1: I don't like it, you know, the the unwarranted braggadocio ness. Okay,
- 1:36:13Speaker 1: you know what a word?
- 1:36:15Speaker 3: Can you spell? That?
- 1:36:16Speaker 1: I probably could. There's two g's in it. Uh Bill
- 1:36:22Speaker 1: in Oklahoma. Sorry, this should probably have been an off
- 1:36:26Speaker 1: season question, but throwing it out there, do any of
- 1:36:29Speaker 1: you recall ever losing a free agent or trade because
- 1:36:32Speaker 1: of Massachusetts state income tax versus Tennessee, Texas, et cetera.
- 1:36:37Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 1:36:39Speaker 5: I don't know that that to be true, but probably
- 1:36:43Speaker 5: probably could.
- 1:36:44Speaker 1: Probably, But you know the thing about like you know,
- 1:36:48Speaker 1: the state income tax. Every every state taxes you somehow,
- 1:36:53Speaker 1: like New Hampshire doesn't have in you know, sales tax,
- 1:36:56Speaker 1: but their property taxes are through the roof. It all
- 1:36:58Speaker 1: comes out in the wash. You end up paying no
- 1:37:01Speaker 1: matter where you are, somehow they'll get you.
- 1:37:03Speaker 5: Yeah, but if that's different for you and I than
- 1:37:07Speaker 5: it is for an athlete making multi millions, Oh yeah,
- 1:37:11Speaker 5: you know you get your salary income tax free.
- 1:37:15Speaker 1: That's that's a big difference. YEA. Well, no state state
- 1:37:20Speaker 1: state state income tax, which is a lot less. Yeah. Uh,
- 1:37:23Speaker 1: Morgan's than Vermonra. What's up, Morgan? Hey? Am I on? Yes?
- 1:37:29Speaker 10: Yeah, Oh hey, sorry, I'm so.
- 1:37:34Speaker 16: I don't know if you guys have discussed but.
- 1:37:38Speaker 8: This seek.
- 1:37:40Speaker 16: Thing, I don't I don't know, I'm what what about
- 1:37:43Speaker 16: kind of confused? Why kind of confused? Why we didn't
- 1:37:45Speaker 16: just resign Damien Harris where we we knew what we
- 1:37:48Speaker 16: were getting. He signed super cheap with Buffalo.
- 1:37:50Speaker 5: It's a fair second. Huh, that's a fair second.
- 1:37:55Speaker 1: Guess.
- 1:37:55Speaker 5: Yeah, they could have got uh, probably the same player
- 1:37:58Speaker 5: for a lot less money and one that was already
- 1:38:01Speaker 5: in your system. I think that they just wanted to
- 1:38:03Speaker 5: move on. I don't know exactly why, but it seems
- 1:38:06Speaker 5: like all of those guys that were sort of in
- 1:38:07Speaker 5: max little circle last year somehow found a way to
- 1:38:10Speaker 5: not be here anymore.
- 1:38:12Speaker 16: M Yeah, well, I think that it's a mistake. I
- 1:38:17Speaker 16: mean I think that I think that Amian Harris, I mean,
- 1:38:21Speaker 16: he was our number one back.
- 1:38:22Speaker 1: But if, but if, like for the Patriots, he wanted
- 1:38:25Speaker 1: more and then he settled for less with another team.
- 1:38:28Speaker 5: But he wasn't going to command six million. Up to
- 1:38:32Speaker 5: six million, let me rephrase that up to six million.
- 1:38:36Speaker 5: They didn't want him back, right, they didn't. I mean,
- 1:38:39Speaker 5: I don't know why, but they didn't want him back,
- 1:38:41Speaker 5: and he probably didn't want to be back.
- 1:38:43Speaker 3: From the looks of.
- 1:38:44Speaker 7: His social media once he was free air quote from here,
- 1:38:47Speaker 7: he sounded like he was ready to go.
- 1:38:49Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:38:49Speaker 5: Oh yeah, but I think I'm gonna I'll keep with
- 1:38:53Speaker 5: my ben Affleck.
- 1:38:53Speaker 1: I think Morgan is right.
- 1:38:55Speaker 5: I think I think he I think that's a fair second, yes,
- 1:39:00Speaker 5: because you could have had I actually think a better
- 1:39:04Speaker 5: player at this stage of his career for less money.
- 1:39:08Speaker 1: If you care about the money, I don't do.
- 1:39:09Speaker 7: You also think he was okay with being like the backup,
- 1:39:13Speaker 7: so to speak to Remondra, that might be another.
- 1:39:15Speaker 5: Part of the reason why he wanted out because he
- 1:39:18Speaker 5: knew where it was going. He knew Stevenson had passed him.
- 1:39:21Speaker 1: And he had a good opportunity at Buffalo.
- 1:39:23Speaker 5: Well, he had really no opportunities. Yeah he had, he
- 1:39:26Speaker 5: got very little attention.
- 1:39:27Speaker 1: But is he the number one back?
- 1:39:29Speaker 3: Well now because of the injury to the on the
- 1:39:32Speaker 3: jet ski, I think he might be.
- 1:39:34Speaker 5: No James Cook is there. They'll lead back.
- 1:39:38Speaker 3: So now he moved up. What won because of that injury?
- 1:39:40Speaker 5: I guess yeah, he'll be like he's going to be
- 1:39:43Speaker 5: like he was here last year. Okay, I would think,
- 1:39:48Speaker 5: you know, short yardage, goal line kind of stuff. I mean,
- 1:39:51Speaker 5: he's a pretty physical guy.
- 1:39:52Speaker 1: He's a good player. He's good.
- 1:39:54Speaker 5: I don't think he's great, and I think he's injury prone.
- 1:39:56Speaker 1: Thanks Morgan, El says, I think it's important to have
- 1:40:03Speaker 1: Wednesday shows. Wednesday is the only day that Bill's able
- 1:40:05Speaker 1: to listen to the show, but since the shows went
- 1:40:08Speaker 1: away for the off season, he didn't know how big
- 1:40:10Speaker 1: of an issue the oh line what.
- 1:40:14Speaker 5: I don't know, think he's trying to make a funny
- 1:40:17Speaker 5: How big of an issue the old line.
- 1:40:19Speaker 1: Was, I don't know.
- 1:40:20Speaker 7: I was a bit surprised with one we had those
- 1:40:22Speaker 7: two two free roster spots open, that we didn't sign
- 1:40:25Speaker 7: an offensive lineman and that we went for Flowers instead.
- 1:40:28Speaker 5: I was, well, they did sign an offensive lineman.
- 1:40:31Speaker 3: Was that from the USFO?
- 1:40:32Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean that's what you're getting now, Yeah, like
- 1:40:35Speaker 5: you get I mean you have to make a trade
- 1:40:37Speaker 5: to get someone with any sort of petigree.
- 1:40:41Speaker 1: Right, Darryln Virginia, I'm one of the guys from the
- 1:40:45Speaker 1: blog clamoring for Melik to get into the QB room.
- 1:40:49Speaker 1: Listening to Andy in the postgame show, it sounds like
- 1:40:52Speaker 1: Malik is missing on some routine throws in practice. Am
- 1:40:55Speaker 1: I reading too much into the throw to Nixon? He
- 1:40:57Speaker 1: threw a thirty five yards down field while on the
- 1:41:00Speaker 1: That was a great throw, and he threw it to
- 1:41:01Speaker 1: a spot where only his guy could get it. I
- 1:41:04Speaker 1: want to get out of the business of having former
- 1:41:06Speaker 1: college quarterbacks be our most productive receivers. I would like
- 1:41:09Speaker 1: to get a good receiver who can actually play the position.
- 1:41:12Speaker 1: I agree with that. Love the show. Last Thursday's blog
- 1:41:16Speaker 1: followed by that post game was incredible good of bad. Well,
- 1:41:22Speaker 1: I think you, like a lot of people like the
- 1:41:23Speaker 1: post games. I know, and you missed a good one.
- 1:41:25Speaker 1: I'm really kind of surprised by that. It was wild.
- 1:41:28Speaker 3: There wasn't any room in here for.
- 1:41:30Speaker 5: It was just like random people just coming into studio.
- 1:41:32Speaker 3: It's like I did come in.
- 1:41:35Speaker 1: I saw you come in. You had to get your light.
- 1:41:39Speaker 1: Everybody was like, what is that? What is that thing?
- 1:41:41Speaker 1: I knew what it was. I know, I knew what
- 1:41:46Speaker 1: it was. I don't use them, but I knew what
- 1:41:50Speaker 1: it was. Spiing Fresno slight correction to the earlier email,
- 1:41:54Speaker 1: Paul pronounces the law and law and order as lar.
- 1:41:58Speaker 1: They are pretty subtle and slightly swallowed la, as if
- 1:42:02Speaker 1: it were a very small PEPSI. There is no r
- 1:42:05Speaker 1: Laura laar.
- 1:42:07Speaker 5: It's law in order. Well, and if you say it fast,
- 1:42:10Speaker 5: it sounds.
- 1:42:10Speaker 1: Have you ever seen the commercial for dig safe, like
- 1:42:13Speaker 1: don't break the law? I wouldn't say, Laura no, but
- 1:42:16Speaker 1: you have you ever see the commercial for dig safe. Yeah,
- 1:42:19Speaker 1: he goes, you know, at the end he says, it's easy,
- 1:42:22Speaker 1: it's thing, and it's the la. He says the lar.
- 1:42:25Speaker 5: Oh, I don't say that, no, but if I say
- 1:42:28Speaker 5: Laura in order, I'm going to say it fast and
- 1:42:29Speaker 5: it's going to sound like that.
- 1:42:30Speaker 1: Amazing moment. On the Postgame Show at forty nine fifteen,
- 1:42:34Speaker 1: Mark Fred asked FITZI whether he has a music show,
- 1:42:37Speaker 1: because Hardy does. But Fred can't finish a sentence without
- 1:42:40Speaker 1: laughing at Hardy, Fred breaking character as he pokes the bear.
- 1:42:45Speaker 1: I just we did have a lot of fun. I'd
- 1:42:47Speaker 1: shown up it. I just love getting it Hardy because,
- 1:42:50Speaker 1: like you know, it's fun to make fun of him.
- 1:42:53Speaker 5: Yeah, he likes to make fun of others, but doesn't
- 1:42:55Speaker 5: necessarily like when it's throwing.
- 1:42:57Speaker 1: Back typical media person, very thin skin, very things. I
- 1:43:03Speaker 1: have it. I don't have a thin skin. Oh I
- 1:43:05Speaker 1: have a hide like an LPHO.
- 1:43:06Speaker 3: Oh my god, what's going on?
- 1:43:11Speaker 1: Kidding me?
- 1:43:13Speaker 5: The Malie Countingham thing from the email a couple of
- 1:43:15Speaker 5: emails ago. I do think maybe you're reading a little
- 1:43:18Speaker 5: too much into that throat. That was an amazing throw.
- 1:43:21Speaker 5: It was also benefited by the defensive back who sort
- 1:43:23Speaker 5: of tripped as he tried to make a play on
- 1:43:25Speaker 5: it like he's you know, the whole put it where
- 1:43:27Speaker 5: only his guy could get it. That's where it ended up.
- 1:43:31Speaker 5: But I have not you know, for anybody to say
- 1:43:35Speaker 5: he hasn't shown accuracy in camp.
- 1:43:36Speaker 1: That's not true.
- 1:43:37Speaker 5: He hasn't thrown enough passes for me to tell you
- 1:43:40Speaker 5: if he's shown accuracy or not in camp. The one
- 1:43:42Speaker 5: that Andy was talking about was that little throat to
- 1:43:44Speaker 5: Kaishawn Booty. That was terrible and Booty made an unbelievable
- 1:43:49Speaker 5: catch on it. But I don't think Andy would tell
- 1:43:52Speaker 5: you that he's been inaccurate consistently in camp.
- 1:43:56Speaker 1: We haven't seen him throw. Yeah, we just haven't. Day
- 1:44:00Speaker 1: in Chicago, love the show, perspective you each bring. Thanks
- 1:44:03Speaker 1: for the training. Camp shows great insight for those who
- 1:44:05Speaker 1: can't attend. I'll be up for the Saints game this year.
- 1:44:08Speaker 1: I can't wait. One question. Can someone please take Ted
- 1:44:11Speaker 1: Johnson's media credentials away? The guy clearly has an extra
- 1:44:16Speaker 1: grind with Belichick. His act is old and it's time
- 1:44:19Speaker 1: to move on. Yeah. I do think he has a
- 1:44:23Speaker 1: so Yeah, never mind, let ted fight his own battles. Yeah,
- 1:44:28Speaker 1: I mean he's you know, they had issues.
- 1:44:30Speaker 5: Should Teddy Bruski get his credential taken away? Because he
- 1:44:33Speaker 5: clearly is in Bill's pocket? Like, what's the difference?
- 1:44:39Speaker 1: Oh, so biases are okay if it's positive. No, But
- 1:44:45Speaker 1: are you're saying either way they're no.
- 1:44:46Speaker 5: I'm saying, if you want to take away the credential,
- 1:44:48Speaker 5: take away the credential. And if you're going to take
- 1:44:50Speaker 5: away the credentials of those with biases, there'll be no credentials,
- 1:44:53Speaker 5: right because everybody has because everybody has a slant, right,
- 1:44:56Speaker 5: everybody does.
- 1:44:59Speaker 1: Let's see are writing in again. I don't mean to
- 1:45:01Speaker 1: throw a shade at Sean, but the people that would
- 1:45:05Speaker 1: have to pay for the preseason games are those that
- 1:45:08Speaker 1: aren't local. Isn't that what you said? So they can't go?
- 1:45:11Speaker 1: Don't get me wrong, I'm not into having to pay
- 1:45:14Speaker 1: for preseason but it's too easy to say, oh, just
- 1:45:16Speaker 1: go to practice. I wish I could. I have to
- 1:45:19Speaker 1: pay for a game to watch, uh, for a game
- 1:45:21Speaker 1: pass to watch anything? Because she's out in the UK.
- 1:45:25Speaker 5: So they have game pass for the preseason games too.
- 1:45:27Speaker 1: Yeah? Is that extra? Yeah? Well, you have to pay
- 1:45:30Speaker 1: for game pass now, No, I know that you always
- 1:45:33Speaker 1: have to pay for game Pass. Yeah, I think game
- 1:45:35Speaker 1: passes now NFL Plus or I think it's all no thing.
- 1:45:39Speaker 5: But so you don't have to pay extra for the
- 1:45:41Speaker 5: preseason games. It's included, I believe.
- 1:45:44Speaker 1: So Okay, you have to figure out you don't you
- 1:45:47Speaker 1: have to pay extra for if you want the in
- 1:45:50Speaker 1: season games, you have to pay extra, and then you
- 1:45:53Speaker 1: only get the primetime games. Uh, that aren't You're why
- 1:45:59Speaker 1: would you need the primetime games? Well, if I'm talking
- 1:46:02Speaker 1: about your non Patriots games, if you wanted to watch
- 1:46:04Speaker 1: the Kansas City Chiefs on game Pass, you would only
- 1:46:07Speaker 1: get our NFL you would only get NFL Plus, You'd
- 1:46:11Speaker 1: only get primetime games. If you want all the games,
- 1:46:15Speaker 1: you have to go to Yahoo because Yahoo owns the
- 1:46:18Speaker 1: Sunday ticket now and then I think it's like three
- 1:46:21Speaker 1: ninety nine. Then you can get all the games all
- 1:46:24Speaker 1: the time.
- 1:46:25Speaker 5: Okay, yeah, But that's what I'm talking about, is that
- 1:46:29Speaker 5: preseason games are part of that.
- 1:46:31Speaker 1: I think preseason games are part of NFL Plus.
- 1:46:33Speaker 5: But you don't have no But I mean the other thing.
- 1:46:36Speaker 5: But I still don't know Sunday ticket. The preseason game
- 1:46:38Speaker 5: is part of that.
- 1:46:41Speaker 1: Sunday ticket. Yeah. Oh, I don't know. And even with
- 1:46:45Speaker 1: the preseason games on NFL Plus, I don't know if
- 1:46:47Speaker 1: you can watch out of market. I still think it
- 1:46:49Speaker 1: might be just within your market. It's interesting. Yeah, let's
- 1:46:54Speaker 1: see another Douglass email risus Rick from Dallas. What can
- 1:47:02Speaker 1: we expect from him during the regular season where we
- 1:47:05Speaker 1: see significant snaps make an impact or is this just
- 1:47:08Speaker 1: another training camp darling that we never hear from again
- 1:47:11Speaker 1: after week one. I think I think there's more than that.
- 1:47:15Speaker 5: Yeah, I think I think that they've worked him a lot.
- 1:47:21Speaker 1: You know, the guys that I'm not.
- 1:47:22Speaker 5: I'm not ruling out that he could be a training
- 1:47:23Speaker 5: camp darlings, but I don't. I think that they have
- 1:47:26Speaker 5: some some thoughts about him.
- 1:47:27Speaker 1: And I think.
- 1:47:29Speaker 5: The fact that he didn't play the other night, that's
- 1:47:31Speaker 5: the thing that sort of tells me not. I wonder
- 1:47:35Speaker 5: if Fred they didn't want to. They don't want him
- 1:47:37Speaker 5: to play a ton in the preseason period because they
- 1:47:39Speaker 5: don't want to show him.
- 1:47:40Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean the training camp darlings in the past
- 1:47:43Speaker 1: are guys who actually played in the games and did well.
- 1:47:47Speaker 1: It's like, oh, look, what he's doing.
- 1:47:48Speaker 5: Well, not necessarily the games, but they they had strong
- 1:47:53Speaker 5: preseasons and then when they got in the regular season,
- 1:47:55Speaker 5: they couldn't translate like the Nate Sudfelds of the.
- 1:47:58Speaker 1: World, that he can make it the regular season. Yeah,
- 1:48:02Speaker 1: I forget.
- 1:48:02Speaker 5: I thought he got cut first game against Buffalo, we
- 1:48:05Speaker 5: got a ball go off his hands, get picked off.
- 1:48:07Speaker 5: Brady said, I don't want that guy in my own
- 1:48:09Speaker 5: If we.
- 1:48:09Speaker 3: Don't have any of those that shine during camp, that'd
- 1:48:14Speaker 3: be sad if that end up being Douglas.
- 1:48:16Speaker 5: I think Douglas. I think he will have a role.
- 1:48:19Speaker 5: Like I said, I think that they they're going to
- 1:48:22Speaker 5: look to get him the ball a little bit underneath
- 1:48:24Speaker 5: on these shallow crosses and see if he can make
- 1:48:27Speaker 5: some plays in space. I think they're absolutely going to
- 1:48:29Speaker 5: do that.
- 1:48:30Speaker 1: Now.
- 1:48:30Speaker 5: Whether or not he can do it that that'll depend
- 1:48:32Speaker 5: on how big his role ends up being.
- 1:48:34Speaker 1: Mac needs somebody who can get open fast. I mean
- 1:48:38Speaker 1: right now, the thing the knock on these receivers is separations.
- 1:48:43Speaker 5: Yeah, I would just look at the and I don't.
- 1:48:47Speaker 5: I'm not necessarily talking about him in terms of separation
- 1:48:49Speaker 5: as much as I am just another option in the
- 1:48:53Speaker 5: passing game. That's different they you know, I keep talking
- 1:48:55Speaker 5: about Thornton with the size and the speed, Well he's
- 1:48:59Speaker 5: much quicker Douglas.
- 1:49:00Speaker 1: He is much quicker than anybody else. Oh yeah, So that.
- 1:49:03Speaker 5: Is a thing that he brings to the offense that's
- 1:49:06Speaker 5: different than the other.
- 1:49:08Speaker 1: Now that the Patriots have signed Zeke, what snap counts
- 1:49:11Speaker 1: can we expect for him? Will Mandre and Zeke form
- 1:49:14Speaker 1: a one to two punch or is it more of
- 1:49:15Speaker 1: a situation where Stevenson is the clear lead back and
- 1:49:18Speaker 1: Zeke is used as an afterthought.
- 1:49:22Speaker 5: I think that you might see Zeke get some of
- 1:49:24Speaker 5: the third down snaps that Stevenson had to get.
- 1:49:27Speaker 1: The good thing about you know Stevenson, he got all
- 1:49:31Speaker 1: the snaps almost last year, well once Harris got hurt.
- 1:49:34Speaker 1: But with Zeke out there, like short yardage, you can
- 1:49:36Speaker 1: put him out there. He's a good short yardage back.
- 1:49:39Speaker 1: But he can also catch the ball. So it gives
- 1:49:41Speaker 1: you that you know.
- 1:49:43Speaker 5: Right, but Stevenson still catch the ball. But I just
- 1:49:45Speaker 5: think that you want to you want That's why I
- 1:49:48Speaker 5: said third downs. I think they'll go with with with
- 1:49:51Speaker 5: Zeke a little bit, not all the time. I'd be
- 1:49:53Speaker 5: curious to see if they give Stevenson a possession off, like, Okay,
- 1:49:58Speaker 5: this is a third, third series of the game, it's
- 1:50:00Speaker 5: gonna be a Zeke series and they're gonna go with
- 1:50:02Speaker 5: him on all three downs. Or do they just say,
- 1:50:06Speaker 5: rather than play, you know, ninety five percent of the
- 1:50:09Speaker 5: snaps for Stevenson, we're gonna try to get that number
- 1:50:11Speaker 5: down closer to seventy five percent and let Zeke take
- 1:50:14Speaker 5: the other twenty.
- 1:50:15Speaker 7: I don't know, Yeah, I would probably say that's like
- 1:50:17Speaker 7: a good like comparison to what we see what we've
- 1:50:20Speaker 7: seen in training camp, where like some days we see
- 1:50:22Speaker 7: Ramandre participaying a lot more, other days he's on the
- 1:50:24Speaker 7: lower field.
- 1:50:25Speaker 1: Right, I'm getting confused here. Christian says, I have Sunday
- 1:50:30Speaker 1: Ticket on YouTube and I was able to watch the
- 1:50:32Speaker 1: preseason game from Charlotte, so yes, it is included, and
- 1:50:37Speaker 1: then Donovan says Sunday Ticket does not have preseason. Preseasons
- 1:50:41Speaker 1: are carried out of market, but only the games shown
- 1:50:44Speaker 1: on NFL Network. They released that schedule and the Patriots
- 1:50:47Speaker 1: have two or three games, two out of three games
- 1:50:50Speaker 1: played on national TV. The NFL Plus subscription supposedly has
- 1:50:54Speaker 1: all preseason games now if you pay the subscription, but
- 1:50:58Speaker 1: I have no clarification on market blackouts and game availability.
- 1:51:02Speaker 1: The best options are Sunday Ticket or just getting a VPN,
- 1:51:06Speaker 1: but the streaming services are continually trying to limit the
- 1:51:08Speaker 1: ability to use VPN as it goes around NFL contractual blackouts.
- 1:51:13Speaker 1: I don't know, it's just it's it's a whole thing
- 1:51:15Speaker 1: for people to try to watch their teams out of market.
- 1:51:18Speaker 5: Yeah, it's something. That's why I don't know much about it.
- 1:51:20Speaker 5: I never had to deal with it, Speed, says NFL Plus,
- 1:51:24Speaker 5: because I've always been in the market.
- 1:51:25Speaker 1: Yeah, NFL Plus sucks to Speed. It's only available on
- 1:51:28Speaker 1: mobile devices and tablets. It blacks out if you try
- 1:51:31Speaker 1: and cast or plug it into a TV, and includes
- 1:51:34Speaker 1: out of market preseason games, but not out of market
- 1:51:37Speaker 1: regular season games. The only real solution for cord cutting
- 1:51:41Speaker 1: out of market people now is YouTube TV, which is
- 1:51:44Speaker 1: what I said. But Sunday Ticket only includes Sunday afternoon
- 1:51:48Speaker 1: games three hundred dollars, and to get everything, you also
- 1:51:52Speaker 1: need to the seventy dollars per month YouTube TV subscription.
- 1:51:56Speaker 1: This is the new best option. It used to be
- 1:51:58Speaker 1: that people could use a VPN and get International game
- 1:52:01Speaker 1: Pass from anywhere for peanuts, but the league switch their
- 1:52:04Speaker 1: international game pass platform to a service called The Zone,
- 1:52:08Speaker 1: who has sacked VPN access from the US. It's a mess.
- 1:52:14Speaker 5: Tell you, you guys, really make cutting the chord sound appealing.
- 1:52:18Speaker 1: I know, I know you're saying that by rolling your eyes.
- 1:52:21Speaker 1: I agree. I mean, I pay through my nose for Infinity. Yeah,
- 1:52:25Speaker 1: I like, I get everything I do. I have absolutely everything.
- 1:52:28Speaker 5: Yeah, you know, and it's believe me, I'm paying more
- 1:52:32Speaker 5: for it than I want to.
- 1:52:33Speaker 1: Yeah, but at some point I'm gonna have to make
- 1:52:36Speaker 1: a decision.
- 1:52:36Speaker 5: But all of this stuff to me is not an option, right,
- 1:52:41Speaker 5: Like if you're gonna have to cut the cord. So
- 1:52:44Speaker 5: I'm only saving a fraction of that by cutting because
- 1:52:47Speaker 5: I need the other stuff still. I need Netflix, I
- 1:52:49Speaker 5: need you know, Apple and all the other things, and
- 1:52:51Speaker 5: your Wi Fi and your Wi Fi. I mean, I
- 1:52:54Speaker 5: suppose you could do away with your phone. You don't
- 1:52:56Speaker 5: need a landline anymore.
- 1:52:57Speaker 1: But I don't know. I don't know if it's.
- 1:53:01Speaker 7: It's valuable crazy that you can only watch NFL Plus
- 1:53:04Speaker 7: on your phone.
- 1:53:05Speaker 1: Yeah, like they won't let you put it on the TV.
- 1:53:09Speaker 3: Yeah, that defeats the purpose.
- 1:53:13Speaker 5: Yeah, I don't know why anybody would want to like
- 1:53:15Speaker 5: knowingly watch something on there.
- 1:53:17Speaker 1: It's all probably what the networks asked for when they
- 1:53:20Speaker 1: did their deals.
- 1:53:20Speaker 5: Like if you're out and whatever, you have no option,
- 1:53:22Speaker 5: you watch it. Sure it's better than not seeing it
- 1:53:25Speaker 5: at all. But I don't know why you would willingly
- 1:53:27Speaker 5: want to watch something on your phone. Yeah, like if
- 1:53:29Speaker 5: I have my option to be TV or phone.
- 1:53:32Speaker 1: Well, again, it's that protecting the network deals.
- 1:53:35Speaker 5: It's like my Noteatian games. Yeah, you know, like I
- 1:53:37Speaker 5: watched those on the phone because I have to.
- 1:53:39Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying. If we're paying, you know,
- 1:53:42Speaker 1: all billions of dollars to have CBS, then by god,
- 1:53:45Speaker 1: people will have to watch CBS mm hm. Kevin says,
- 1:53:51Speaker 1: I want to push back on the commercial hate from
- 1:53:54Speaker 1: earlier in the show. Yeah, Fred, and this is from
- 1:53:57Speaker 1: the European perspective. NFL Game Pass recently transition to a
- 1:54:01Speaker 1: new provider, and they have replaced the commercial breaks with
- 1:54:04Speaker 1: a mind numbing repeated slideshow of the provider's logo with
- 1:54:08Speaker 1: the skull chant on loop. It's torture. I would give
- 1:54:12Speaker 1: anything for a slapstick chip commercial or pharma ad telling
- 1:54:16Speaker 1: you the various ways you might end up in a
- 1:54:18Speaker 1: box pharma ad.
- 1:54:19Speaker 5: That's another good one. Yeah, that's a good ad, right there.
- 1:54:22Speaker 1: American commercials are a fun part of the NFL experience
- 1:54:25Speaker 1: for US Europeans.
- 1:54:29Speaker 5: Do you ever see the uh so some of those
- 1:54:32Speaker 5: farma ads? I do see Freddy?
- 1:54:33Speaker 1: Oh god?
- 1:54:34Speaker 5: Do you ever see the one for Jardiance probably has
- 1:54:37Speaker 5: the woman's like starring in like a Broadway show in
- 1:54:40Speaker 5: the middle of like a square.
- 1:54:41Speaker 1: It's like a flash mob.
- 1:54:42Speaker 5: Yeah yeah, yeah, and she has this whole song and
- 1:54:45Speaker 5: dance routine. Like who thought that that was the best
- 1:54:48Speaker 5: way to sell a drug?
- 1:54:49Speaker 1: Yeah, it's unbelievable. It's so annoying us.
- 1:54:53Speaker 5: I guess they they do it because they put some
- 1:54:57Speaker 5: kind of song and it gets stuck in your head
- 1:54:59Speaker 5: and that's how you remember the you know, yep, take
- 1:55:02Speaker 5: once daily Jardiens.
- 1:55:05Speaker 1: And then the other one is ozempic. So it's for
- 1:55:08Speaker 1: people with type two diabetes, but all the rich people
- 1:55:11Speaker 1: are buying it because you lose weight.
- 1:55:12Speaker 5: To weight loss thing. Yeah, so I could probably use that.
- 1:55:16Speaker 1: Well, I heard that you lose fifteen pounds really fast,
- 1:55:18Speaker 1: but then after that it can really it can cause
- 1:55:21Speaker 1: bowel problems because you get stuffed and all that stuff
- 1:55:27Speaker 1: stays in you. You're not releasing it regularly. You know,
- 1:55:33Speaker 1: God help.
- 1:55:33Speaker 3: Us, what's happening.
- 1:55:37Speaker 5: So fifteen pounds, Yeah, that wouldn't do it to I
- 1:55:39Speaker 5: need to lose at least twice.
- 1:55:40Speaker 1: That, Donovan says. I agree with you all that cutting
- 1:55:43Speaker 1: the cord is a mess. If you live locally, the
- 1:55:45Speaker 1: alternative of spending more for convenience is a better option.
- 1:55:48Speaker 1: The problem for those of us whose careers have brought
- 1:55:51Speaker 1: us out of New England is we have no option
- 1:55:53Speaker 1: at all to pay for convenience. Yeah, it's all a
- 1:55:55Speaker 1: complicated streaming nonsense. It's happening with MLS and with Premier
- 1:56:00Speaker 1: League soccer broadcasts in the USA as well. All the
- 1:56:03Speaker 1: expectation is on the fans to work around these various
- 1:56:06Speaker 1: limitations on the broadcast. Yeah, that's true.
- 1:56:09Speaker 5: And that's you know, the NFL is doing it too
- 1:56:11Speaker 5: with the NFL, I mean the Thursday Night package on Amazon.
- 1:56:14Speaker 5: And there's been talk fred about the Super Bowl someday
- 1:56:18Speaker 5: being a being a pay per view event something like that.
- 1:56:22Speaker 1: I have to say I was in Aruba for the
- 1:56:24Speaker 1: Super Bowl this year and it's like, how am I
- 1:56:27Speaker 1: going to watch the game? And I didn't realize it
- 1:56:29Speaker 1: was actually on ESPN in Aruba, even though okay, how
- 1:56:33Speaker 1: they do it? So I was in my hotel room
- 1:56:35Speaker 1: and I'm like, I'm not gonna be able to watch
- 1:56:36Speaker 1: the game because they didn't have Fox, right, and I
- 1:56:40Speaker 1: thought the only way I could watch it was Fox.
- 1:56:42Speaker 1: I didn't know, So we're like, how are we gonna
- 1:56:44Speaker 1: do this? So across the street at the Big Marriott,
- 1:56:47Speaker 1: they had a thing one hundred bucks a person and
- 1:56:50Speaker 1: they had the big screen set up, all the food
- 1:56:52Speaker 1: you can eat, all the beer you can drink, and
- 1:56:54Speaker 1: it was great. I'm in it was great. I would
- 1:56:57Speaker 1: be there.
- 1:56:57Speaker 5: I would do that absolutely in a hardway.
- 1:56:59Speaker 1: We had like a cocktail, you know, one of the
- 1:57:02Speaker 1: tall tables with the tall chairs and huge screen. Like
- 1:57:05Speaker 1: I said, they had food trucks and all the beer
- 1:57:08Speaker 1: you could drink, and it was like, I'd rather do
- 1:57:11Speaker 1: this than sit in my hotel room.
- 1:57:13Speaker 5: Well, definitely your hotel room, but would I would almost
- 1:57:16Speaker 5: rather do that than in my.
- 1:57:17Speaker 1: House, right, Like that's fun. Yeah.
- 1:57:19Speaker 5: If I don't have any vested interest in the game, yeah,
- 1:57:21Speaker 5: like if it's my team, I need to watch.
- 1:57:23Speaker 1: But I think in the States you're not allowed to
- 1:57:25Speaker 1: do that, right, Like a bar couldn't have a party.
- 1:57:28Speaker 1: That's really I don't know why not. You can't have
- 1:57:31Speaker 1: charge money for it and charge money for it.
- 1:57:33Speaker 5: But they're charging money for the food. It's a Super
- 1:57:36Speaker 5: Bowl party. But you paid for the food. That's what
- 1:57:40Speaker 5: you paid one hundred bucks.
- 1:57:41Speaker 1: I thought there was something where you couldn't, like, you know.
- 1:57:45Speaker 5: Like it was great, right, it was one hundred bucks,
- 1:57:46Speaker 5: but all the food and drink that you could have, right, right,
- 1:57:49Speaker 5: So you paid for the food, not for the game.
- 1:57:51Speaker 1: I guess, Yeah, why can't you have a party? I
- 1:57:54Speaker 1: don't know.
- 1:57:54Speaker 7: I would guess maybe the only reason why they wouldn't
- 1:57:56Speaker 7: want to do this because they couldn't count I guess
- 1:57:58Speaker 7: like eyeballs watching the game.
- 1:58:02Speaker 1: But that's the fly with the ratings anyway. Oh no,
- 1:58:05Speaker 1: here's the rule. A place that doesn't normally show the
- 1:58:08Speaker 1: game can't do it. So like a movie theater couldn't
- 1:58:10Speaker 1: do it. Oh those places, that's different. Yeah, that's different.
- 1:58:15Speaker 1: Bar could do it. I'm not going to leave people
- 1:58:16Speaker 1: on the line, are you all right? Well, well, we'll
- 1:58:20Speaker 1: do it quickly because we're going to end the show.
- 1:58:23Speaker 1: Claire's in the UK. What's up, Claire.
- 1:58:27Speaker 17: Hello, It's kind of been talked about, but I rang
- 1:58:31Speaker 17: in as soon as you've read my email, just to
- 1:58:33Speaker 17: say that we do get preseason games as part of
- 1:58:36Speaker 17: the game path that's now on something called dozendz. So
- 1:58:40Speaker 17: we do get pre season and the normal games, but
- 1:58:45Speaker 17: you have to pay for like everything. But I did
- 1:58:47Speaker 17: get this preseason game. Unfortunately, we got the SoC and
- 1:58:52Speaker 17: Zoe broadcast. We don't normally get that over here, right,
- 1:58:56Speaker 17: but we didn't get the twin cast.
- 1:58:58Speaker 5: It's the Perillo telecast by the way.
- 1:59:02Speaker 17: Yeah, I'm so sorry the Perillo.
- 1:59:04Speaker 1: So so thanks right, Well that's good. But you get
- 1:59:09Speaker 1: game pass internationals. So do you get all the games
- 1:59:11Speaker 1: during the season two?
- 1:59:14Speaker 17: I think so? They have just changed it, like one
- 1:59:16Speaker 17: of the man I said, for this year, it's changed
- 1:59:18Speaker 17: from NFL game pass over to this NFL Game Pass
- 1:59:22Speaker 17: one dozen. So I'm assuming everything the same, but I
- 1:59:25Speaker 17: haven't had a season yet to really know if you're
- 1:59:28Speaker 17: on the tree.
- 1:59:28Speaker 1: Okay, all right, Well good luck with that, Claire, and
- 1:59:31Speaker 1: thanks for calling. Cool all right, Claire, bye bye. Eldred's
- 1:59:35Speaker 1: in North Carolina and he'll wrap up the show. What's up? Eldred?
- 1:59:39Speaker 8: Hey lady, how y'all doing all right? Hey, Paul, Yes,
- 1:59:43Speaker 8: sir omic will have you lose a little weight. I
- 1:59:46Speaker 8: was only for a while, but my doctor's got macdondo
- 1:59:51Speaker 8: and it's liked it, you know, but I'll wait twenty nine.
- 1:59:55Speaker 8: I'm down to two fifty forty five. Wow, congratulations, dockyar.
- 2:00:00Speaker 1: Good for you gradually, thank you.
- 2:00:01Speaker 8: Yeah, yes, it's good for weight loss, but it is betty,
- 2:00:05Speaker 8: but most people used for weight loss. Yeah, and it
- 2:00:06Speaker 8: will occurb your appetite.
- 2:00:08Speaker 1: But if if you're not diabetic and prescribed for that,
- 2:00:12Speaker 1: it costs a lot, right per month?
- 2:00:13Speaker 5: Yeah, you have to get a prescription. You're gonna pay.
- 2:00:16Speaker 8: Yeah, subscription, Yeah, but you're insure, but they can also
- 2:00:19Speaker 8: give you a card and it knocks. It's about twenty
- 2:00:21Speaker 8: five dollars for those five objections.
