- 0:15[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm here with my good friend and buddy Chris Miles, who is a host of another show.
- 0:20[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, new one means a crow right here on the rice network, and you were going to say I'm Anavar and have a feeling you were going to say Anavar son of Anatar or something like that or whatever Reward the idea that I thought that's what you were going to say I thought you know the Ever do new at the next avatars coming out in them in a couple of weeks yeah very upset that they Just a few letters off of me being able to sue that guy
- 0:43[SPEAKER_00]: They didn't name that anivar.
- 0:44[SPEAKER_00]: I would have been in the money.
- 0:46[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, okay.
- 0:46[SPEAKER_00]: When would they have a tiresome?
- 0:48[SPEAKER_02]: So it's not anivar's not some sort of like proper way to say your name and some other like native language or something like that.
- 0:54[SPEAKER_00]: No, it's okay.
- 0:56[SPEAKER_00]: The my actual birth name is spelled A and I B like boy, A L.
- 1:02[SPEAKER_00]: which in Spanish is pronounced anivale, which might loosely translate to Hannibal.
- 1:09[SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't, but it loosely could.
- 1:11[SPEAKER_00]: Of course you could.
- 1:12[SPEAKER_00]: I went to Catholic school.
- 1:13[SPEAKER_00]: The sisters, the good sisters, the BBMs decided that they weren't going to BBMs.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_00]: What is that?
- 1:20[SPEAKER_00]: Blessed Virgin, sisters with the Blessed Virgin Mary.
- 1:24[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, okay.
- 1:24[SPEAKER_00]: But for us, it stood for a black veiled monster.
- 1:28[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, that's what I thought if they could there was something else like my name they said That we're not gonna learn that so they rewrote it A and N IVAR from for all my records from first grade on including my military records all have a and an IVAR Wow, the only thing that has my actual birth name is my birth certificate
- 1:48[SPEAKER_00]: Otherwise, the nun saw, they decided they weren't going to make an English word out of it.
- 1:54[SPEAKER_02]: They were having none of that.
- 1:55[SPEAKER_00]: They were having none of that, exactly.
- 1:57[SPEAKER_00]: And once they got in the habit of calling me anivard, then that was it.
- 2:01[SPEAKER_02]: There was pretty black and white.
- 2:03[SPEAKER_00]: Very black and white.
- 2:05[UNKNOWN]: Yes.
- 2:05[SPEAKER_02]: Hopefully you guys saw what we did there.
- 2:07[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, yeah, so welcome to this edition of cheesy popcorn, this is going to be our Christmas special edition, so Do you have a like a different holiday movie you're going to talk about?
- 2:20[SPEAKER_00]: I may.
- 2:21[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, okay.
- 2:22[SPEAKER_02]: Well, then I'm sorry.
- 2:23[SPEAKER_02]: We will call it the holiday special.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_00]: My bed.
- 2:25[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think we have to just talk about Christmas.
- 2:28[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 2:28[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
- 2:29[SPEAKER_02]: My bed.
- 2:30[SPEAKER_02]: Sorry.
- 2:31[SPEAKER_02]: I took a step in the wrong direction.
- 2:33[SPEAKER_02]: I apologize.
- 2:33[SPEAKER_02]: We will pull back and we will call it the holiday special.
- 2:36[SPEAKER_02]: That's my bed.
- 2:36[SPEAKER_02]: No.
- 2:37[SPEAKER_02]: We probably should be PC because most of the time we're not anyways.
- 2:40[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 2:40[SPEAKER_01]: We really got to see you.
- 2:42[SPEAKER_02]: So there we go, but that also means that, unfortunately, we do not have a movie that we will be reviewing this week.
- 2:48[SPEAKER_02]: We didn't, we're not going to agree with anything, however, it was a choice.
- 2:52[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, there wasn't really wasn't anything we wanted to see.
- 2:57[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'm going to talk about that, by the way.
- 3:01[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, we'll cool.
- 3:03[SPEAKER_02]: But before we go any further, let's talk about the movies that are coming out this week.
- 3:07[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 3:09[SPEAKER_02]: And some pretty good ones is a matter of fact now.
- 3:12[SPEAKER_02]: Again, just to remind everybody, we don't talk about the limited release movies.
- 3:16[SPEAKER_02]: Just because we don't know if it's going to be available in your area or not.
- 3:20[SPEAKER_02]: Although there is a movie that probably deserves some sort of honorable mention.
- 3:25[SPEAKER_02]: just so that if you do see it within your area, you can go and check it out.
- 3:31[SPEAKER_02]: And of course, that movie is called Marily We Roll Along.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_02]: I think I got that right, did I?
- 3:35[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, okay.
- 3:37[SPEAKER_02]: It hasn't come out or hasn't been slated for what we call like nationwide release.
- 3:43[SPEAKER_02]: I've only seen Marily We Roll Along only see it.
- 3:46[SPEAKER_02]: uh... as a limited release they know rad cliffs in it uh... as well as crystal joy brown so there's some some pretty good talent in it it looks interesting i like i said we just want to mention it because in case you can't see it then you could be like well you could talk about it no we can't do it just mentioned right even all we just mentioned it so we don't want to we don't want to take attention something that we just mentioned
- 4:06[SPEAKER_02]: Right now what we will mention though is silent light deadly night is going to be in theaters I feel like this is like a remake I feel like there was a silent night deadly night when we were like when I was a kid Yeah, I mean they're all the same If I was a child who is traumatized after seeing his parents killed by a man dressed as Santa Claus
- 4:23[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, there we go.
- 4:25[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, and then years later, he'd down to Santa suit himself and gets bloody revenge.
- 4:31[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, there he is.
- 4:31[SPEAKER_02]: Well, that makes it so nice.
- 4:33[SPEAKER_02]: So now it's one of those slasher movies.
- 4:35[SPEAKER_00]: Now it's a family movie.
- 4:37[SPEAKER_02]: It's very much a family movie, not.
- 4:39[SPEAKER_02]: Also coming out this week, LMK, which looks pretty good.
- 4:42[SPEAKER_00]: That looks good.
- 4:43[SPEAKER_02]: I did finally get to see a preview of it.
- 4:45[SPEAKER_02]: I'm really interested in the movie.
- 4:47[SPEAKER_02]: A young politician.
- 4:48[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, Jamie Lee Curtis, but a young politician, juggles work and family responsibilities after becoming her state's governor.
- 4:55[SPEAKER_02]: And I think the girl's name is, I didn't do my research on this, so forgive me.
- 5:01[SPEAKER_02]: A.O.
- 5:03[SPEAKER_02]: at a beanie, I think that's who this is.
- 5:05[SPEAKER_02]: But, well, but she was in, um, and of course, now she's not popping up anywhere, but she was in another,
- 5:15[SPEAKER_02]: another move uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh
- 5:33[SPEAKER_02]: And we recommend going to see it if you like what they call romcoms.
- 5:38[SPEAKER_02]: It's some of the previous that I saw and look like it's really funny.
- 5:42[SPEAKER_02]: And it looks like it's going to be a good time as well.
- 5:44[SPEAKER_02]: So there's something to check out if you want to.
- 5:47[SPEAKER_02]: And then also coming up in theaters, because it's 25th anniversary, Dr. Seuss is how the Grinch told Christmas, which is with Jim Carrey.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_02]: And if you're watching TV recently, it was on TV a couple of days ago.
- 6:00[SPEAKER_02]: So I guess go see it in the movie theater.
- 6:03[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah, I don't want to ask her, okay.
- 6:07[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if it was Oscar based on it on superb acting and really capturing a character then you should have won an Oscar.
- 6:18[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, I think Okay, and then I want to ask you for a liar liar to my opinion
- 6:26[SPEAKER_02]: I will agree with Lyre Lyre, I don't know if Grinch was Oscar worthy, but that's just my two sides.
- 6:32[SPEAKER_00]: This is often one for playing an old lady.
- 6:35[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, but that was an eighty-two when- But that was an eighty-two when playing a lady wasn't a thing, like- It's true.
- 6:41[SPEAKER_02]: He- he- he- Dustin stepped way outside of the genre at that point.
- 6:46[SPEAKER_02]: And that will be crossed a lot of boundaries that needed to be crossed back then.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_00]: It did.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_00]: But I think the Grinch was asking her whether you're entitled to it.
- 6:59[SPEAKER_02]: The live action.
- 7:00[SPEAKER_02]: Also coming out this week in on Netflix and the movie that we are going to be reviewing is Wake Up Dead Man.
- 7:06[SPEAKER_02]: It's a Knives Out Mystery.
- 7:08[SPEAKER_02]: It's the next.
- 7:09[SPEAKER_02]: barrel, brawn, mystery, the follow-up to knives out and glass onion.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_02]: Like I said, it's coming out on Netflix.
- 7:15[SPEAKER_02]: So what's the third one, right?
- 7:17[SPEAKER_02]: It's the third one.
- 7:18[SPEAKER_02]: Yep.
- 7:18[SPEAKER_02]: Knives out was the first one and then glass onion was the second one.
- 7:21[SPEAKER_02]: And we're going to be taking a look at it.
- 7:23[SPEAKER_02]: And we will be reviewing it next week, which is going to help us title next week's episode, which will be mysteries mysteries.
- 7:32[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sure we'll talk about clue.
- 7:35[SPEAKER_00]: Why wouldn't we?
- 7:36[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 7:37[SPEAKER_00]: It's one of the greatest mystery movies ever.
- 7:40[SPEAKER_02]: combined with a lot of fun fun fun with it was it was a great gag movie at big movie yeah great parody it was a great gag movie at the time because when it well we'll talk about it next week I don't want to give anything away for sure I want to mention things we've mentioned there was something that you wanted to talk about though which was regards to a movie from last week or something like that that we we didn't talk about well I wanted to talk
- 8:09[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yes, right.
- 8:10[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sorry about the inventor of the flaming hot cheetos.
- 8:14[SPEAKER_00]: I think movies could have flaming hot.
- 8:16[SPEAKER_00]: And it was just, you know, it was a, was it a $2 million budget movie?
- 8:24[SPEAKER_00]: but it was well-acted by people you wouldn't know, except for one.
- 8:32[SPEAKER_00]: And the story was well-written.
- 8:34[SPEAKER_00]: The cinematography was, you know, it's not out of Africa, but it's good.
- 8:42[SPEAKER_00]: It was good.
- 8:43[SPEAKER_00]: It kept you waiting for the next thing to happen.
- 8:46[SPEAKER_00]: And it's a feel good.
- 8:49[SPEAKER_00]: This is what America is about story.
- 8:53[SPEAKER_00]: in my opinion.
- 8:55[SPEAKER_00]: And I just, you know, I turned it on late at night.
- 8:58[SPEAKER_00]: I couldn't fall asleep, so I turned it on.
- 9:01[SPEAKER_00]: I saw that the title, Flaming Hot, I was assured what I was getting into here.
- 9:06[SPEAKER_00]: And then when it started playing, and I went through all of the, the mechanisms that this guy went through, who invented Flaming Hot Cheetos, by the way, is what it's about.
- 9:16[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't wanna give to, I mean, I could, you could give it away easily.
- 9:19[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, obviously everybody should know the ending,
- 9:23[SPEAKER_00]: the the the process of him getting from where he was to there is really amazing and heartwarming isn't a little bit of a love story you know but it's more the American dream can happen if if the people at the top are willing to be open see that's the key the American dream is there
- 9:52[SPEAKER_00]: The pathway to the American dream is where the problem is.
- 9:56[SPEAKER_00]: Many times people get to the mid level, but can't get to the top level.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_02]: No, that's because they say it's not what you know, it's who you know.
- 10:04[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, it is very much.
- 10:05[SPEAKER_00]: And this wasn't a who you know at all, which it would make it such a great story.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_00]: It really wasn't a who you know.
- 10:11[SPEAKER_00]: It was never give up.
- 10:15[SPEAKER_00]: kind of more of never give up than who you know.
- 10:18[SPEAKER_00]: And you know, take a chance.
- 10:20[SPEAKER_00]: The Wayne Gretzky, a great quote from Wayne Gretzky that I've always used often in my life is 50% of the shots you take will go in.
- 10:30[SPEAKER_00]: 100% of the shots you don't take will never go in.
- 10:36[SPEAKER_00]: And that's what this was.
- 10:37[SPEAKER_00]: This was a guy taking that 50% and saying, you know what?
- 10:41[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to go for it.
- 10:42[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, check it out.
- 10:43[SPEAKER_00]: It's on prime.
- 10:44[SPEAKER_00]: Believe it's on prime or else.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_00]: So Amazon prime?
- 10:47[SPEAKER_00]: OK, Apple or Prime, I don't remember now.
- 10:48[SPEAKER_00]: It's probably prime because I don't think you have Apple.
- 10:51[SPEAKER_00]: If you like, if you like Rudy, movies like Rudy, this is your movie.
- 10:55[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, unlike the blind side, maybe.
- 10:58[SPEAKER_00]: Not so much.
- 10:59[SPEAKER_00]: Not so much.
- 11:00[SPEAKER_00]: More like Rudy.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_00]: Well, like Rudy.
- 11:03[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, so that's my spiel.
- 11:05[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you for letting me have my moment That moment was brought to you by the letter B Oh, oh, I Cheetos, I think so.
- 11:16[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I don't know.
- 11:17[SPEAKER_00]: I think so.
- 11:18[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, anyway, that was brought to you at him And if you guys are listening you could sponsor us
- 11:24[SPEAKER_02]: I knew it was coming.
- 11:25[SPEAKER_02]: I knew the shame this plug was coming somewhere.
- 11:27[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't know if she wanted to come to get in people's funds.
- 11:29[SPEAKER_00]: Of course.
- 11:30[SPEAKER_02]: There we go.
- 11:31[SPEAKER_00]: Living on a fixed income.
- 11:33[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 11:33[SPEAKER_00]: You know, in the pen that money I can get, I'm going to make a hooking.
- 11:41[SPEAKER_00]: All right, so.
- 11:42[SPEAKER_02]: In beautiful downtown plainfield.
- 11:43[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, down down plainfield.
- 11:46[SPEAKER_02]: So move it on.
- 11:47[SPEAKER_02]: Let's talk about our favorite holiday movies.
- 11:52[SPEAKER_02]: I think it might be better if we kind of like did one and then one like bounce off of each other.
- 11:57[SPEAKER_02]: Like I'll do one, you do one.
- 11:59[SPEAKER_02]: Because these aren't in any order for me.
- 12:00[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if they're in any order for you.
- 12:02[SPEAKER_02]: And one of them, I know people are gonna be like, we'll get the cop out.
- 12:05[SPEAKER_02]: But I don't think so with this particular one.
- 12:08[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's just a classic and it's one of those that,
- 12:11[SPEAKER_02]: when you when you think about movies and I'm just gonna say what it is for the bats so let's just get it out of the way because it might be on your list too.
- 12:17[SPEAKER_02]: It's a wonderful life for me.
- 12:20[SPEAKER_02]: But the funny thing for me is that I never really saw the movie all the way through until about three years ago.
- 12:25[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and it was because the radio station that I was working for at the time, every Christmas, they put on the radio version of the show of the movie.
- 12:36[SPEAKER_02]: And so they asked me to play the, I forget who it was.
- 12:41[SPEAKER_02]: One of the, it's a small part.
- 12:43[SPEAKER_02]: It's one of the, I think it, oh, I think it was his dad.
- 12:46[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, yeah, I played his dad and I had never seen it then when so when we did the reading They were like if you ever seen the movie and I'm like no, and they're like because you're not doing this right I was like okay, so I went home.
- 12:59[SPEAKER_02]: I watched the movie and I was like oh, I see what I'm doing wrong He talks because I wasn't I was being more stern and I wasn't being as gentle
- 13:06[SPEAKER_02]: And right he was very humble and very gentle.
- 13:11[SPEAKER_02]: So after that we did the next reading they were like yeah Now you saw them over we get it and you did exactly what you need we need you to do so and that's when I saw them movie now on I watched the I think I caught it in color because that was the only thing that was available So people told me some people that have seen them movie like forever have been like
- 13:28[SPEAKER_02]: Well, you didn't see the original version and I was like all they did is colorize it.
- 13:32[SPEAKER_02]: That's all they did.
- 13:33[SPEAKER_02]: They didn't add everything to it They didn't take anything away from it.
- 13:35[SPEAKER_02]: So anyway, regardless of that I went back and I watched a black and white version And I'm like, okay, well, I don't know if it mattered that I saw it in color first because I still saw it in color when I was watching it in a black and white Like I remembered what was in color and what wasn't so and plus here's the thing
- 13:50[SPEAKER_02]: when they were filming it back then, they were filming it on black and white film, but it was still in color, because there's no way you can't pull color out of the world, then that was one of the funny things that somebody said to me, well, when they filmed it in black or white, they were always wearing black and white outfits, they might know they were.
- 14:04[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, but like I said, it's a classic, it's probably at everybody's list.
- 14:08[SPEAKER_02]: Some people will be like, oh my God, it's played out, but I just, I think it's a wonderful story.
- 14:14[SPEAKER_02]: I do, I always will, and, you know, anyway.
- 14:18[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's on my list.
- 14:19[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I think you're right, it's on everybody's list.
- 14:23[SPEAKER_00]: I also, I mean, there's not my favorite Christmas movie, though.
- 14:27[SPEAKER_02]: Well, it's not, so it's a wonderful light.
- 14:29[SPEAKER_02]: It's not my favorite.
- 14:30[SPEAKER_02]: Like I said, these are, these are in any order.
- 14:32[SPEAKER_02]: These are the top fives that I watch every year.
- 14:34[SPEAKER_02]: One of them is actually brand new for me, but I'm gonna watch it every year now.
- 14:39[SPEAKER_02]: So it's just a top five thing.
- 14:42[SPEAKER_02]: If I were to put it in place if we really wanna do that, I would say it's probably like number three.
- 14:46[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 14:48[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I, I, I, I, why did this?
- 14:50[SPEAKER_00]: I did modern.
- 14:52[SPEAKER_00]: My favorite modern on the best modern and my favorite classics is a lot more classics than the latter in my, in my list.
- 14:59[SPEAKER_00]: So I'll go with classic my classic number one classic Christmas movies going my way would bring cross me.
- 15:08[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 15:09[SPEAKER_00]: That's just a great movie.
- 15:11[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, everything in that movie is, it's funny, it's got a great message, you have very Fitzgerald and Ben Crosby.
- 15:20[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know how you can go around with that.
- 15:23[SPEAKER_00]: And it's just, it's a humble, feel-good movie that I think more than any other movie relates what the real meaning of Christmas is.
- 15:37[SPEAKER_00]: I think.
- 15:40[SPEAKER_00]: They will probably be my favorite move.
- 15:41[SPEAKER_00]: I try to catch it.
- 15:43[SPEAKER_00]: It's rarely on unless you want to pay for it.
- 15:47[SPEAKER_00]: So I try to catch it when I can, but I have seen a lot of times.
- 15:51[SPEAKER_00]: I just, it's hard to find.
- 15:52[SPEAKER_00]: So if you're looking for going my way, YouTube sometimes they'll have a full version of the movie.
- 15:58[SPEAKER_00]: But you gotta be careful, because sometimes it's just full version of the movie.
- 16:01[SPEAKER_00]: And it's just somebody talking about it.
- 16:03[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I'm doing now.
- 16:04[SPEAKER_00]: It's not really the home movie, so you don't want that.
- 16:07[SPEAKER_00]: you want to see the movie you want to see being crossed being very fit shelter it's great so that's one of mine so
- 16:15[SPEAKER_02]: All right, so you went classic and I started classic and now I'm going to keep classic and I'm going to keep classic with a big cross me.
- 16:21[SPEAKER_00]: You are not.
- 16:22[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, I am.
- 16:22[SPEAKER_00]: I bet I know what it is.
- 16:24[SPEAKER_02]: Does it does it is about a story about Bob Wallace and Phil Davis.
- 16:28[SPEAKER_00]: It could be.
- 16:28[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, yeah, maybe there's a really popular Christmas tune from it too.
- 16:33[SPEAKER_00]: Well, not where the originated though, oddly enough.
- 16:36[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, that's true.
- 16:36[SPEAKER_02]: It didn't actually originate from this.
- 16:38[SPEAKER_02]: It was actually it was actually in a different movie.
- 16:41[SPEAKER_00]: Different big cross me movie.
- 16:42[SPEAKER_02]: And then because of that movie, because of that song being in the movie, this became a thing.
- 16:47[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 16:47[SPEAKER_02]: But yeah.
- 16:48[SPEAKER_02]: So white Christmas is where I'm going with this great movie and you know what?
- 16:54[SPEAKER_02]: Again, same thing for me, up until about six, seven years ago.
- 16:58[SPEAKER_02]: I was not a Christmas classic movie type of person, but I was a kid, right?
- 17:04[SPEAKER_02]: So like for me, I grew up on like the animated versions of Rudolph, Frosty, The Snowman, Santa Clouds coming to town, like those sort to me, those are all classics, you know Charlie Brown Christmas, those are all the classic classics to me, I wasn't forced to watch white Christmas or it's a wonderful life when I was a kid.
- 17:25[SPEAKER_02]: I wasn't because we were because they put, they sent us in front of the TV and we watched Rudolph and we watched all the cartoony stuff.
- 17:31[SPEAKER_02]: We didn't watch any of the other stuff because they were like, you guys aren't going to get this.
- 17:34[SPEAKER_02]: So I first saw why Christmas actually the play, the musical version.
- 17:39[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't see the movie first.
- 17:40[SPEAKER_02]: I saw the play at what used to be Feasant Run.
- 17:44[SPEAKER_02]: It's not there anymore.
- 17:45[SPEAKER_02]: Unfortunately, but it's a great place to see a show, great place to hang out for the weekend as a matter of fact, too.
- 17:50[SPEAKER_00]: It's a shame.
- 17:51[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's a shame.
- 17:52[SPEAKER_02]: It's no longer in St. Charles, Illinois.
- 17:54[SPEAKER_02]: well there was some other things going on with it just not just the burning I mean it was going downhill but it was a great little area I mean it's a great movie that it was it's a great movie and you know um it's definitely not the first choice by the way for the show no no he was not what he killed it I mean Danny oh yeah great and everything I love Danny Kay absolutely love Danny Kay do
- 18:16[SPEAKER_00]: self-made actor singer Dancer never read music and yet conducted the Phil harmonic which is like right I know I mean and just and I was I was I thought that might be one of years it's not one of mine actually I do like it but it's not one of mine um I I read up on I like to read about you know did they actually get along and they did being and the cast got along being in
- 18:45[SPEAKER_00]: more friendship relationship with being in being kind of was not there.
- 18:50[SPEAKER_00]: But the one thing that all of the cast members agreed on was that Danny K kept the set lighthearted with his antics on and off camera.
- 19:01[SPEAKER_00]: And I mean, I just, I've always been a big fan of Danny Kay.
- 19:05[SPEAKER_00]: In fact, if you, you really want to be a big fan of Danny Kay, you have to go watch a movie called Skoki, where he plays, he's Jewish.
- 19:13[SPEAKER_00]: He is Jewish, and he plays... Is it about Skoki Illinois?
- 19:16[SPEAKER_00]: It's about Skoki.
- 19:17[SPEAKER_00]: It's about the Nazis marching in Skoki.
- 19:19[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, okay.
- 19:19[SPEAKER_00]: Believe it or not, Danny Kay, it plays a very, very serious role in it.
- 19:23[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 19:24[SPEAKER_00]: And he absolutely nails it.
- 19:26[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
- 19:26[SPEAKER_00]: So if you really want to see the other side of the court jester that he tended to play for the most part, you got to see that.
- 19:35[SPEAKER_00]: All right, so white Christmas is yours.
- 19:37[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to go for my next one.
- 19:40[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to stay old and go with Miracle on 34th should put the original, not the Richard and Burrell one.
- 19:47[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 19:47[SPEAKER_00]: Sorry.
- 19:48[SPEAKER_00]: Great Jurassic Park.
- 19:49[SPEAKER_00]: I love when he does all the nature things.
- 19:51[SPEAKER_00]: You kind of sucked in this one.
- 19:53[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, he just, the original is the best.
- 19:55[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
- 19:56[SPEAKER_00]: You know, come on.
- 19:58[SPEAKER_00]: That's the best movie.
- 20:01[SPEAKER_00]: Sorry.
- 20:01[SPEAKER_02]: So are you going to say AmeriCorps on 34th Street?
- 20:03[SPEAKER_02]: Is your all time that we're on favorite?
- 20:05[SPEAKER_02]: Is that what you're saying?
- 20:05[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, OK, well, because you just said it's the best movies.
- 20:07[SPEAKER_00]: That movie.
- 20:08[SPEAKER_00]: Not my whole time, baby.
- 20:09[SPEAKER_00]: Going my way was my whole time, baby.
- 20:11[SPEAKER_00]: OK. All right.
- 20:13[SPEAKER_00]: Going my whole time.
- 20:14[SPEAKER_00]: Spells of St. Mary's is another really good one, too, with Bing.
- 20:18[SPEAKER_00]: It's less Christmasy and more.
- 20:25[SPEAKER_00]: about why it's important to to give some times.
- 20:29[SPEAKER_00]: So it's not as Christmasy is going my way, but that's a good one too.
- 20:33[SPEAKER_00]: So that's my all-time favorite Christmas movie.
- 20:36[SPEAKER_00]: And then miracles up there.
- 20:38[SPEAKER_00]: So, but the original would Danny Wood and where you know Hera, how do you beat that?
- 20:47[SPEAKER_00]: You can't beat that.
- 20:47[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 20:48[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know why they did a remake.
- 20:50[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know why they do remakes a lot of times instead of just just re-release the movie because people get bugs up there.
- 20:57[SPEAKER_02]: You know what's and they want to do the movie.
- 21:00[SPEAKER_02]: And some people try to update things.
- 21:01[SPEAKER_02]: So, you know, and there are just some things you can't.
- 21:03[SPEAKER_02]: So, moving on, I'm no longer in classic movie mode.
- 21:07[SPEAKER_01]: So, I apologize for that.
- 21:08[SPEAKER_02]: I apologize for that, but that's because, like I said earlier, if I wanted to go classic stuff, then we'd talk about Rudolph, we'd talk about Frosty Disnoman, we talked about, you know, all of those animated movies, those would be all the ones that I would say, classic movie-wise, those are mussies.
- 21:23[SPEAKER_02]: And so much so that I actually, there was a DVD set that came out like five or six years ago, maybe as longer than that.
- 21:28[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, I went on bought it because I was like, you know what, my son needs to see all of these.
- 21:32[SPEAKER_02]: So there's that.
- 21:33[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to save this one because this one to me is like probably my number one favorite, but last year Interestingly enough here the last these next two picks that I have are movies that I have seen one came out last year and then the other one came out like two maybe three years ago.
- 21:51[SPEAKER_02]: So into the list, I'm adding red one
- 21:54[SPEAKER_02]: I saw red one which is features the rock Duane Johnson and you know what it's funny because I for probably the last ten or so years have not really been a Christmas spirit kind of person and when I saw red one
- 22:12[SPEAKER_02]: it did something to me.
- 22:15[SPEAKER_02]: And I started feeling the Christmas spirit again.
- 22:19[SPEAKER_00]: So, um, this one's a large if you look in a binders.
- 22:24[SPEAKER_00]: As long as you're in the spirit, it may as well take it a pen as you had.
- 22:28[SPEAKER_00]: by you and actually when you're going to follow them.
- 22:31[SPEAKER_02]: By you and extra large flies water, so I can slap you with it.
- 22:34[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, yeah, but it's a really cool movie.
- 22:38[SPEAKER_02]: And I talked about the Elf, which is extremely large and formidable operative team that joins forces with the world's most accomplished tracker to find Santa and save Christmas.
- 22:50[SPEAKER_02]: So it's one of those really cool, like saving Christmas kind of movies.
- 22:54[SPEAKER_00]: It's the Austin guy.
- 22:55[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, the farmers market.
- 22:57[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, not farmers market farmers insurance.
- 23:00[SPEAKER_02]: Jk's Simmons is his name Chris Evans is in it as well and so is I'm trying to remember the guy's name but now I can't but anyway, yeah, Chris and that the guy loosely, that's what I was trying to think of
- 23:12[SPEAKER_02]: Lucy loose in it.
- 23:14[SPEAKER_02]: It's just got a great cast.
- 23:15[SPEAKER_02]: It's it's fun Crappies is in it too.
- 23:18[SPEAKER_02]: So like all the new Christmas stuff is in it And it's just it's fun.
- 23:23[SPEAKER_02]: It's just a fun Christmas movie and it has the Christmas theme inside of it and the funny thing is is that The character that Dwayne Johnson plays he was losing the Christmas spirit too
- 23:32[SPEAKER_02]: So that's why it really hit home for me because I was like wait a second.
- 23:35[SPEAKER_02]: He's not in the crisp of spirit.
- 23:37[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not in the crisp of spirit And it just became one of those moments from me where I was just like yeah, okay.
- 23:42[SPEAKER_02]: Somebody's talking to me So red one is on my list probably number two That would be my third pick.
- 23:50[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, not again not in any order, but I did say it would be my number two So I'll go with Part one and part two of jingle all the way
- 24:00[SPEAKER_00]: First one would honor shorts and they there was a part two wasn't I didn't know I didn't know It was a part two would Larry the cable guy.
- 24:07[SPEAKER_00]: Oh God.
- 24:08[SPEAKER_00]: Why it's really good I really yes, I was with more turbo man action.
- 24:13[SPEAKER_00]: No, no Oh, well then it's not jingle all the way.
- 24:16[SPEAKER_00]: It is.
- 24:17[SPEAKER_00]: No, it's not jingle all the way without turbo man We were pleasantly surprised.
- 24:21[SPEAKER_00]: We were watching it with our grandson and we were pleasantly surprised Okay, well, I mean, I'm not a Larry the cable guy fan either, but
- 24:29[SPEAKER_00]: He played the role as the layer of the cable guy as the name and his character name is Larry of course in the movie Obviously because probably couldn't remember any other character name in my guess
- 24:39[SPEAKER_02]: What was that movie that we were talking about the other week where, or maybe I had just seen it.
- 24:43[SPEAKER_02]: He was in a movie and he was, oh, I figured what it was.
- 24:48[SPEAKER_02]: But he was in a movie recently and the outtakes were just absolute hilarious.
- 24:54[SPEAKER_02]: And it was him and somebody else and they were just going back and forth.
- 24:57[SPEAKER_02]: They were to came back?
- 24:57[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 24:58[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, anyway, maybe it was just something I watched.
- 25:00[SPEAKER_02]: But anyway, whatever, go ahead.
- 25:02[SPEAKER_00]: And say the two of those, those would be third.
- 25:04[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, the first jingle all the way is the better one.
- 25:08[SPEAKER_02]: That was a we watch that two nights ago.
- 25:10[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that was good.
- 25:11[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I love that one.
- 25:13[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I didn't make my list though.
- 25:14[SPEAKER_00]: Well, Phil Hartman too.
- 25:16[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, Phil Hartman, he's so creepy in that movie.
- 25:20[SPEAKER_02]: But he's creepy in a lot of things.
- 25:22[SPEAKER_02]: But he's just such a creepy.
- 25:24[SPEAKER_02]: He's a great actor.
- 25:25[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, he was creepy to rest in peace because he's fortunate enough with us anymore.
- 25:30[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 25:31[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
- 25:31[SPEAKER_00]: Number two for you.
- 25:32[SPEAKER_00]: Number two.
- 25:33[SPEAKER_00]: Moving on.
- 25:34[SPEAKER_02]: Spirit it, which is on Apple TV.
- 25:37[SPEAKER_02]: I did tell you about it a couple weeks ago.
- 25:40[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't know what to expect.
- 25:42[SPEAKER_02]: I just watched it maybe a week ago.
- 25:45[SPEAKER_02]: It was one of those, oh, let's watch a Christmas movie and I was like, well, I want to watch something I've never seen before.
- 25:51[SPEAKER_02]: So I put this on.
- 25:52[SPEAKER_02]: And I was pleasantly surprised.
- 25:55[SPEAKER_02]: It is a musical version of
- 25:57[SPEAKER_02]: a Christmas Carol but read done in a way that it's not a Christmas Carol and what I mean by that is you still have the character who is without the Christmas spirit he still gets visited by the ghost of past future and present and all that stuff however the ghost of Christmas present is actually
- 26:18[SPEAKER_02]: so it's like taking off from like, it's taking off from like Ebenezer being respirited, I guess we'll call it, and then like he's now in this group of individuals who is responsible for finding people who are like the lowest of lows when it comes to the Christmas spirit.
- 26:36[SPEAKER_02]: and then giving them the Christmas spirit.
- 26:38[SPEAKER_02]: So Ryan Reynolds is cast in this.
- 26:40[SPEAKER_02]: Will Ferrell plays the Ebenezer Scrooge character, which is absolutely hilarious.
- 26:46[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't know that good afternoon was actually a way to swear at people back in the day.
- 26:49[SPEAKER_02]: It was comparable to the effort, supposedly.
- 26:53[SPEAKER_02]: But the funny thing about this is you sit here and you watch this and you just don't know where this is going to go and you don't know what to do with it.
- 26:59[SPEAKER_02]: And then it's a musical on top of that.
- 27:01[SPEAKER_02]: So it gets totally crazy but it's actually really good and it didn't get great marks on IMDB or prime video.
- 27:10[SPEAKER_02]: It's got like 6.6 rotten tomatoes at 70%.
- 27:13[SPEAKER_02]: I mean I think it's really good.
- 27:16[SPEAKER_02]: It's just a great fun Christmas movie and maybe it's just because I have more of a theatrical bentomy and I like musicals and things of that nature.
- 27:23[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe that's why I enjoyed more and so maybe if you're not a musical person you may not like this but I just think it's fun.
- 27:28[SPEAKER_02]: And it's not a retelling of the story.
- 27:31[SPEAKER_00]: It's like a totally different story.
- 27:33[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I mean, it's different in the sense that it's not Ebenees or Screw, which it's somebody else, but it's like taking the story and then expanding the universe, which I think is totally cool.
- 27:42[SPEAKER_02]: Great effects in what needs to be, what they effects need to be, and that kind of stuff.
- 27:46[SPEAKER_02]: A great way to
- 27:47[SPEAKER_02]: like present the whole thing.
- 27:48[SPEAKER_02]: And it's like it's modernized.
- 27:51[SPEAKER_02]: It came out in 2022.
- 27:52[SPEAKER_02]: So, you know, it's not.
- 27:54[SPEAKER_02]: It's just a few years old.
- 27:56[SPEAKER_02]: And it is based off of Charles Dickens Christmas Carol.
- 27:59[SPEAKER_02]: So, there we go.
- 28:00[SPEAKER_02]: Spirited.
- 28:00[SPEAKER_02]: Check it out.
- 28:01[SPEAKER_00]: So, I have to watch that now.
- 28:04[SPEAKER_00]: So, my number two is a tie.
- 28:08[SPEAKER_00]: Again, I like ties.
- 28:09[SPEAKER_00]: You notice?
- 28:10[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know where I'm.
- 28:10[SPEAKER_02]: I would say you don't ever wear a tie.
- 28:12[SPEAKER_02]: So, I don't know how you say you like ties.
- 28:13[SPEAKER_02]: I don't wear ties.
- 28:15[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, it's two and I'm gonna the first one.
- 28:21[SPEAKER_00]: I'm gonna I'm gonna say this like one first.
- 28:23[SPEAKER_00]: Why I'm gonna say the first one first is the bishop's wife The original bishop's wife a carry grant Was great then they remade it with Denzel Washington, and that was good too was Denzel and Whitney Houston and they're both quick They're both good movie.
- 28:41[SPEAKER_00]: They were both very well done
- 28:42[SPEAKER_02]: That's funny.
- 28:43[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, pause you for a second.
- 28:44[SPEAKER_02]: I have never seen the preacher's wife or not the preacher's wife.
- 28:48[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, it is a preacher's wife in the second one.
- 28:49[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sorry.
- 28:51[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, okay.
- 28:51[SPEAKER_02]: And Dan's out plays the angel.
- 28:53[SPEAKER_00]: The same movie.
- 28:54[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, the ship's wife would carry grand.
- 28:56[SPEAKER_00]: It's to preach his wife with then.
- 28:58[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, okay.
- 28:59[SPEAKER_02]: Well, so, so the funny thing is that was on TV a couple days ago and I literally got sucked into it and I never seen it before and I was like, It was good.
- 29:05[SPEAKER_02]: Wow.
- 29:05[SPEAKER_02]: This is so good.
- 29:06[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't finish it, but yeah, I'm sorry.
- 29:08[SPEAKER_00]: Same.
- 29:08[SPEAKER_00]: So good to know it was the same like a white in the color.
- 29:11[SPEAKER_00]: So well easy there older And newer, but I mean, we're talking about a colored cast.
- 29:19[SPEAKER_02]: I know take it easy there.
- 29:20[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I worked that good.
- 29:21[SPEAKER_00]: It was a beautiful movie.
- 29:22[SPEAKER_00]: They're both good and then my tie with those two
- 29:27[SPEAKER_00]: is a movie, a hallmark movie, and you know, hallmark movies, they're all completely different.
- 29:34[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, God, they're terrible.
- 29:35[SPEAKER_00]: But anyway, this was, you'll like this one.
- 29:37[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 29:37[SPEAKER_00]: You can watch this with Don.
- 29:38[SPEAKER_00]: It's called The Card.
- 29:39[SPEAKER_00]: I can't stand hallmark.
- 29:41[SPEAKER_00]: Christmas card.
- 29:42[SPEAKER_00]: the Christmas card.
- 29:43[SPEAKER_00]: You will like it.
- 29:44[SPEAKER_00]: It is not like a regular hallmark movie.
- 29:47[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 29:48[SPEAKER_00]: So I like it.
- 29:48[SPEAKER_00]: Ed Asner is in it and then the two main characters I can't think of the actors' names, but it's a really touching story about a girl who sends Christmas cards to military overseas and this one guy gets one and ends up visiting the town and so on and so on.
- 30:10[SPEAKER_00]: I don't want to
- 30:12[SPEAKER_02]: Alice Evans, is that who you were thinking of?
- 30:14[SPEAKER_02]: Or Louis Nettleton, or maybe John Newton?
- 30:18[SPEAKER_00]: John Newton was the guy, and then Ed Asner was in it, too.
- 30:22[SPEAKER_00]: Might have been Ed Asner's last movie, actually.
- 30:25[SPEAKER_00]: Ooh, so then you have to see it.
- 30:28[SPEAKER_00]: You'd like it.
- 30:29[SPEAKER_00]: You really like it.
- 30:29[SPEAKER_02]: It stars Alice Evans, so she's the female lead.
- 30:32[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, she's a blonde short blonde Yeah, yeah, she was she was she played the movie played it really really well Okay, and it's well written it moves quickly.
- 30:42[SPEAKER_00]: It's funny.
- 30:43[SPEAKER_00]: It's touching It's definitely a Christmas field.
- 30:48[SPEAKER_00]: It's newer to it came out in too much 20-06 so there we go So it's actually in color.
- 30:53[SPEAKER_00]: No, which is weird for me because I don't usually watch things in color.
- 30:56[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, well, I know
- 30:57[SPEAKER_00]: All right, so go.
- 30:58[SPEAKER_00]: Last one for you.
- 31:00[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so last one for me and to me that there is no other Christmas movie than this one.
- 31:04[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm sorry if I don't have to be one.
- 31:06[SPEAKER_02]: I don't like this guy in any other movie except for spirited.
- 31:10[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I know what you're going to say.
- 31:11[SPEAKER_02]: I love him and spirited and you know what I'm sorry.
- 31:14[SPEAKER_02]: I don't care what anybody says.
- 31:15[SPEAKER_02]: Elf is one of the greatest Christmas movies of all time and another direction.
- 31:19[SPEAKER_02]: Nope.
- 31:20[SPEAKER_02]: Elf is Elf is amazing.
- 31:22[SPEAKER_02]: And as much as I don't like Will Ferrell because I really don't like Will Ferrell.
- 31:25[SPEAKER_02]: I love him in Elf.
- 31:27[SPEAKER_02]: And the reason why is because he's so over the top and so many other things, he has to be over the top and elf.
- 31:33[SPEAKER_02]: So he's like Jim Carrey in how the Grinch showed Christmas and how Jim Carrey is so over the top.
- 31:40[SPEAKER_02]: That's Will Ferrell in Elf.
- 31:42[SPEAKER_02]: Those are those are the come there's comparable and
- 31:45[SPEAKER_02]: I still don't see that's what I was gonna say.
- 31:48[SPEAKER_02]: I still don't feel like either one of them is this either one of these See, I don't I disagree.
- 31:52[SPEAKER_02]: I respectfully disagree if he if we'll Pharaoh does not deserve an Oscar for Elf then Jim Carrey doesn't deserve an Oscar for how the Grinch stole Christmas end of story that's it I don't care what you say
- 32:04[SPEAKER_00]: I think a lot more acting going on really complex acting and facial and everything with the grinch than there was with Elf.
- 32:15[SPEAKER_00]: But first of myself didn't care for it, but it grew on me.
- 32:21[SPEAKER_02]: That's because elves are usually shorter.
- 32:25[SPEAKER_00]: So they do take some time to go on here.
- 32:33[SPEAKER_02]: My P. James Con and Bob Newhart's last movies too, it could have been it's James Con probably Bob Newhart I'm not sure sure James Con I think made another one after that.
- 32:44[SPEAKER_00]: So at least one more.
- 32:45[SPEAKER_00]: If you haven't seen it really good, if you like James Con, go find Mickey Blue Eyes.
- 32:51[SPEAKER_00]: No, yeah, that's a good one.
- 32:53[SPEAKER_00]: All right, so I'll go to my number one and it's really weird because I was watching the view today.
- 33:00[SPEAKER_00]: don't even say.
- 33:01[SPEAKER_02]: I got to see how these two correlate to each other now.
- 33:05[SPEAKER_00]: Well, they had three actresses on there.
- 33:07[SPEAKER_00]: Was there a thing about a new movie that's coming out that looks very compelling and touching.
- 33:13[SPEAKER_00]: But one of the actresses
- 33:23[SPEAKER_00]: she said, more people come up to her and say they love this movie than do Titanic.
- 33:36[SPEAKER_00]: And as you know, I would never say I love Titanic because I really didn't like it all.
- 33:40[SPEAKER_00]: But it's it was the girl in Titanic now and I'm blanking on her name.
- 33:48[SPEAKER_00]: You know it.
- 33:49[SPEAKER_00]: Kate wins luck.
- 33:51[SPEAKER_00]: You're welcome.
- 33:52[SPEAKER_00]: So it's Kate wins luck.
- 33:55[SPEAKER_00]: It's Jack Black.
- 33:59[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, it's okay.
- 34:00[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 34:01[SPEAKER_00]: It's called the holiday.
- 34:02[SPEAKER_00]: Yep, yep.
- 34:03[SPEAKER_00]: We accidentally found this movie, my wife and I.
- 34:06[SPEAKER_02]: It's a good, it's a good rom-com holiday type movie.
- 34:11[SPEAKER_02]: I will agree with you.
- 34:12[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not a big Cameron DS fan, but the scenes that she's in are just really good.
- 34:19[SPEAKER_00]: And then the British guy, what's his name?
- 34:23[SPEAKER_00]: Why am I blanking out on these days?
- 34:26[SPEAKER_02]: Because you didn't take good notes, that's why.
- 34:27[SPEAKER_00]: My son's gonna yell at me because I say, how could you not know that I'm in my back?
- 34:31[SPEAKER_00]: Because if you're doing a movie.
- 34:32[SPEAKER_02]: Right?
- 34:33[SPEAKER_00]: And he's so right.
- 34:35[SPEAKER_00]: And okay, I'm going to give you this one.
- 34:39[SPEAKER_02]: Well, we can't say Armani and not say Andrew law.
- 34:42[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, Jude law.
- 34:43[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.
- 34:44[SPEAKER_00]: There's some great lines where when they meet, she kisses them and then he says can kiss me and he kisses her again and she says, Cameron DS says, you know, this isn't like, man, usually, kiss strangers.
- 35:00[SPEAKER_00]: And Jude law very innocently and very Jude law is says, really?
- 35:04[SPEAKER_00]: I do it all the time.
- 35:06[SPEAKER_00]: And all I could see there was a carry grant
- 35:08[SPEAKER_00]: I think if they ever did a carry grant movie, which I think they have done at one time, but I think Jude Law would be a great actor to portray carry grant.
- 35:17[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, okay.
- 35:18[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I really did.
- 35:19[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, those are my, um, I'll just add that I really don't like the gory Christmas stuff at all.
- 35:28[SPEAKER_00]: And I like glory movies.
- 35:30[SPEAKER_00]: I like those kind of things, but I think there's certain things that you need to not do bad sand and I are silently night.
- 35:39[SPEAKER_00]: No, it's just about whether you do that.
- 35:42[SPEAKER_02]: What about Gremlins?
- 35:44[SPEAKER_00]: Well, Gremlins was more about a little toy that came to life.
- 35:47[SPEAKER_00]: It wasn't about Santa Claus, you know, butchering people.
- 35:50[SPEAKER_02]: Well, but the Gremlins were pretty naughty.
- 35:52[SPEAKER_00]: They're pretty naughty, but it still isn't taking, you know, it's like doing a story where Jesus goes around, you know, butchering people with an AK-47.
- 36:03[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 36:03[SPEAKER_00]: I think there's certain characters in life like Santa and that you just leave alone.
- 36:08[SPEAKER_00]: You know, you can make a funny Santa movie, absolutely.
- 36:11[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, sophomoreick Santa movie, why not?
- 36:16[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, and then, of course, you have the traditional Santa movies, but when you get to you draw the line of bloody Santa.
- 36:21[SPEAKER_00]: I draw the line in bloody Santa and bad Santa and Silent Night Daily.
- 36:24[SPEAKER_00]: I don't, I don't, not my kind of stuff.
- 36:26[SPEAKER_02]: That's okay.
- 36:27[SPEAKER_00]: And just to me, if you enjoy it, go watch it, but uh, they ain't getting my $5.
- 36:32[SPEAKER_02]: there you go and with that that's going to end this episode but don't forget next week we're going to be doing mysteries our favorite mystery movies and then of course we're going to be reviewing wake-up deadman which is the new nine-zone movies available on Netflix coming out tomorrow as a matter of fact but yeah we will see you so that was the Christmas holiday episode sorry about that although you did not mention a single movie that was not a Christmas movie but anyway I'm going to leave that one alone
- 36:58[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, you mentioned Skoki, but that was not a holiday movie, so yeah, and okay there, I saw you looking me and be like, and I was like, Skoki doesn't count, even though it is located here in Illinois as well.
- 37:10[SPEAKER_02]: But anyway, yeah, so next week, we'll review Wake Up Deadman, the knives out movie, we'll talk about history movies and, you know, it'll be one week closer to Christmas.
- 37:18[SPEAKER_02]: We are going to take the week of Christmas off and the week of New Year's as well.
- 37:21[SPEAKER_00]: So we'll be gone for two weeks.
- 37:22[SPEAKER_02]: So it'll be gone for two weeks and we will see you in 2026.
- 37:25[SPEAKER_02]: But not yet, we've got one more episode.
- 37:27[SPEAKER_02]: And until that episode, save us some popcorn.
- 37:29[SPEAKER_00]: It's a cheesy popcorn.
