CMS Flags $3.4 Billion in Suspected DME Fraud | Episode 75
In September 2026, CMS placed eleven durable medical equipment suppliers on its Preclusion List, cutting off their Medicare Advantage and Part D payments. The suppliers were tied to more than $3.4 billion in suspected fraudulent billing in 2025 and 2026. Every one of them billed for patients who had already died. Many had no claims history before 2025, and four had already been removed from traditional Medicare before moving to Medicare Advantage plans.
