- 1:57Speaker 2: That's good? Now? Okay, all right, good, we're there.
- 2:00Speaker 3: I am the tech maven of all time here, good time,
- 2:04Speaker 3: Thank you so much, thank you, thank you. Now I
- 2:06Speaker 3: turned my headset down. All right, No, it's not there yet.
- 2:09Speaker 3: Let me turn headset down here, headset? Headset?

- 2:25Speaker 2: Okay? Uh cono. You want to take it from the top,
- 2:27Speaker 2: please just quickly. Who is filling in for? Will Michael Morris?

- 2:40Speaker 3: but welcome aboard.
- 2:42Speaker 2: Hello Bill, good morning. How are you? Uh yeah, what
- 2:45Speaker 2: do you care?
- 2:47Speaker 3: I don't really exactly precisely that is my fits perfectly, and.
- 2:52Speaker 1: Now handle on the news, ladies, and gentlemen, here's Bill handle.
- 3:00Speaker 3: You know I didn't get all of that, cod No,
- 3:02Speaker 3: you want to try that again? I know we don't
- 3:05Speaker 3: have to do that. All right, what a way to start? Uh,
- 3:10Speaker 3: what a way to start?
- 3:10Speaker 2: On Monday?
- 3:11Speaker 3: All right, morning Cono, Good morning, Bill, there you go, Neil.
- 3:16Speaker 2: Morning, Good morning, Willie wolf.
- 3:18Speaker 3: Amy, Hello Bill, good morning.
- 3:21Speaker 2: Oh Dodgers thing you had? Well? How the Dodgers do? Well?
- 3:24Speaker 4: They did great. They won five to three on Saturday,
- 3:27Speaker 4: so they have a one nothing lead in the series
- 3:29Speaker 4: and they play Game two this afternoon.
- 3:32Speaker 3: Oh okay, so they may actually go to the World
- 3:37Speaker 3: Series maybe kind of well.
- 3:38Speaker 4: We're kind of hoping that.
- 3:39Speaker 2: Yeah, A long way to go before the World Series.
- 3:42Speaker 4: Oh and stop, please, there's a lot.
- 3:44Speaker 3: Of games to play. Yeah, jump, how the Padre, How
- 3:50Speaker 3: the Philly Okay? Yeah, so there's a really long way
- 3:54Speaker 3: for them to go, right, you're pressed?
- 3:56Speaker 2: Okay, okay, all right, So.
- 3:57Speaker 3: The Dodgers won and the uh was the Chargers yesterday?
- 4:03Speaker 2: Right? They lost?
- 4:04Speaker 4: They lost?
- 4:05Speaker 2: Okay, I'm just.
- 4:05Speaker 3: Surrounded by losers really every time you wake up in
- 4:10Speaker 3: the morning, come to work, that's true.
- 4:12Speaker 2: All right, Yeah, there's Anne. I said hello to Cono.
- 4:14Speaker 2: Will is not here?
- 4:15Speaker 3: Is Michael whatever his name is there, Mike Moris. Yeah,
- 4:19Speaker 3: hello by Mike Morris. I still know Bill.
- 4:22Speaker 2: How are you doing? Yeah, you don't care how. I
- 4:26Speaker 2: don't even know what you look like.
- 4:27Speaker 4: Mike.
- 4:27Speaker 3: I don't think we've ever have we ever actually met?
- 4:30Speaker 2: No, we did work.
- 4:31Speaker 6: Together a long time ago, in the nineties, believe it
- 4:33Speaker 6: or not. I was starting as a traffic reporter. I
- 4:37Speaker 6: think you were just starting your morning show. So it
- 4:39Speaker 6: was a while ago.
- 4:40Speaker 2: Yeah, I started nineteen what, yeah, nineteen ninety one here.
- 4:46Speaker 6: I remember very vividly that whenever you would throw it
- 4:49Speaker 6: to a traffic person and a traffic person wasn't there,
- 4:52Speaker 6: you got very angry.
- 4:53Speaker 2: And I think you haven't really changed in that regard.
- 4:56Speaker 2: I wasn't angry. I mean angry that there's no traffic
- 4:59Speaker 2: person there. What didn't sound good? Let's be put it
- 5:03Speaker 2: that way. Never to traffic and nobody was there.
- 5:05Speaker 3: It never sounds good, right, whenever I know it to anybody,
- 5:09Speaker 3: by the way, you're surprised, Uh, no traffic reporter there.
- 5:12Speaker 2: And now let's go to can'tfy traffic. No one's there? Okay, No, yeah,
- 5:18Speaker 2: that's great, all right. I was pre lamictal as well.
- 5:21Speaker 2: So I was prelamittl.
- 5:22Speaker 3: That's true. I was pre liminitked. I even have my
- 5:24Speaker 3: dog now on prozac. Did you know that I have literally.
- 5:29Speaker 2: Put an animal on prozac.
- 5:31Speaker 3: Because the vet wanted the little Izzy on prozac because
- 5:35Speaker 3: he is bouncing all over the place, cannot calm her down.
- 5:38Speaker 2: And so I went to the VAT and.
- 5:40Speaker 3: The VAT said, you got you have a dog that's
- 5:42Speaker 3: kind of anxiety ridden. Here's some doggy prozac. By the way,
- 5:46Speaker 3: doggy prozac is regular prozac, and it's I go to Costco,
- 5:51Speaker 3: of course, where I fill my prescriptions, and there it is.
- 5:54Speaker 3: It's uh the name handle right, uh, and it's Isabella.
- 6:00Speaker 3: And you give one just like you know pros act
- 6:03Speaker 3: what the dog for you?
- 6:05Speaker 2: One for you? Yeah, that's why not? Just let the
- 6:08Speaker 2: dog be the dog. Because the dog nips at the
- 6:11Speaker 2: other dog.
- 6:12Speaker 3: The dog is jumping up and down constantly, because it's
- 6:15Speaker 3: a dog. No the dog, it's an anxiety ridden dog.
- 6:19Speaker 3: There are dogs that are so mellow, they just are
- 6:22Speaker 3: just hey, what's going on? Hey, things are cool. There
- 6:26Speaker 3: are dogs that just look like they smoked a joint.
- 6:30Speaker 3: My daughter Pamela's dog Kendle is the sweetest dog in
- 6:34Speaker 3: the world. At the Persian Palace, there was a hill. Well,
- 6:40Speaker 3: you were in that house when there was a big right,
- 6:45Speaker 3: it was that big hill and the dog would come
- 6:46Speaker 3: bounding out, and there were coyotes up there, and it
- 6:50Speaker 3: was it got pretty dangerous. All of a sudden we
- 6:52Speaker 3: heard coyotes and this I wasn't there, but they heard coyotes.
- 6:56Speaker 3: And there is Kendal up the top of the hill,
- 6:59Speaker 3: still within the still within the fencing, and there was
- 7:02Speaker 3: a coyote there.
- 7:04Speaker 2: And Kendall came bounding.
- 7:05Speaker 3: Out again, bounding up and just sat right next to
- 7:08Speaker 3: the coyote, wagging his tail to say hello. Coyote had
- 7:12Speaker 3: no idea what the hell was going on. Dogs do
- 7:14Speaker 3: not go up to coyotes to say hello and to
- 7:16Speaker 3: want to play with them.
- 7:18Speaker 2: That's your melt. No.
- 7:21Speaker 5: I've actually seen Bill go into a closet, grab a
- 7:24Speaker 5: bb guden and shoot animals to get out of his yard.
- 7:28Speaker 3: He was deer o. God, you know, deer are rats.
- 7:32Speaker 3: They're just big rats that eat everything.
- 7:35Speaker 2: So anyway, they can't do that either. Coyotes are protected.
- 7:39Speaker 2: That's why I can't believe coyotes are protected. Okay, moving on, Uh,
- 7:45Speaker 2: what else has hello to everybody? All right?
- 7:47Speaker 3: We have a lot going on today to say the least,
- 7:50Speaker 3: said hello to everybody? And what a week last week?
- 7:53Speaker 3: This is only going to be supplanted by what a
- 7:55Speaker 3: week this week? As we start the show, A handle
- 7:59Speaker 3: on the News with Stop Yawning Kono with Amy Neil
- 8:04Speaker 3: and me lead story.
- 8:15Speaker 2: We start with clearing my throat.
- 8:19Speaker 3: We start with a federal judge block the Trump administration
- 8:24Speaker 3: from deploying California National Guard or any Guard troops in
- 8:28Speaker 3: Oregon too. I'll talk about more of that later on,
- 8:31Speaker 3: but what the President has said that these cities are
- 8:35Speaker 3: out of control, strangely enough, their democratic cities. They're out
- 8:39Speaker 3: of control, and the federal troops have to go in,
- 8:43Speaker 3: or the nationalized Guard has to go in. Almost universally,
- 8:47Speaker 3: and a matter of fact, I can't think of any
- 8:48Speaker 3: other time when national Guard was not called for by
- 8:51Speaker 3: the governor. The governor asks the president to nationalize the guard.
- 8:56Speaker 3: That's the way it normally is. Well, Trump is bypassing
- 8:59Speaker 3: that governor and local authorities do not want the Guard,
- 9:03Speaker 3: and Trump has unilaterally decided he is sending in the
- 9:06Speaker 3: National Guard because of out of control crime because it's
- 9:09Speaker 3: a war zone, and local authorities saying, what do you
- 9:13Speaker 3: mean war zone? We've got some problems. There is no issue,
- 9:16Speaker 3: but nothing that can't be handled by local law enforcement,
- 9:19Speaker 3: and the President saying nope. Well, as he nationalized in California,
- 9:25Speaker 3: the Trump administration was given a no go on that
- 9:28Speaker 3: one by the Feds, by the court. And then what
- 9:32Speaker 3: Trump did is he took the National Guard and moved
- 9:36Speaker 3: it to Oregon. The California National Guard moved to Oregon.
- 9:38Speaker 3: No one's ever heard of that happening before. And so
- 9:41Speaker 3: all of this is going up through the courts. Of course,
- 9:43Speaker 3: as the president is stretching the envelope of what presidential
- 9:48Speaker 3: power is, I mean, to its fullest extent. We'll see
- 9:50Speaker 3: what happens. He has won in some cases, he has
- 9:53Speaker 3: lost in others. This one is we'll see how far
- 9:57Speaker 3: he can go. As of right now, a federal judge
- 9:59Speaker 3: one has stopped another complaint I that a lot of
- 10:02Speaker 3: people have because you have one judge can just stop
- 10:04Speaker 3: an entire program cold. And this was a Trump appointee,
- 10:08Speaker 3: by the way, who did this. So we'll talk more
- 10:11Speaker 3: about that. That's coming up at seven o'clock.
- 10:16Speaker 4: A long way to go to get to peace. Delegations
- 10:20Speaker 4: from the US, Israel, Thamas in the Middle Eastern countries
- 10:23Speaker 4: are set to meet in Egypt today for talks that
- 10:26Speaker 4: could pave the way for a ceasefire in Gaza and
- 10:29Speaker 4: the release of hostages. So apparently the parties will be
- 10:33Speaker 4: trying to come to agreements over things like Israeli military
- 10:38Speaker 4: withdrawal lines in Gaza and the names of the high
- 10:42Speaker 4: profile Palestinian prisoners that will be released in exchange for
- 10:46Speaker 4: the remaining forty eight hostages. It's hundreds of Palestinians, President
- 10:50Speaker 4: Trump said in a post on truth Social I am
- 10:53Speaker 4: told the first phase should be completed this week, and
- 10:57Speaker 4: I'm asking everyone to move fast.
- 11:00Speaker 3: If there is one person that can have enough influence
- 11:06Speaker 3: in this war to stop it, it would be President Trump.
- 11:09Speaker 2: He probably has the only ability to do that.
- 11:12Speaker 4: Although it doesn't seem like Hamas is coming to the
- 11:14Speaker 4: table with anything. We've got a twenty point plan and
- 11:17Speaker 4: they said, okay, we'll release the hostages.
- 11:18Speaker 2: But that's it.
- 11:19Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, it's not gonna happen.
- 11:21Speaker 2: I mean, the Hamas has not agreed to.
- 11:23Speaker 3: The militarize at all, and you still has not agreed
- 11:28Speaker 3: to give up its governing powers. All it is is
- 11:31Speaker 3: the hostages, and once the hostages are released.
- 11:34Speaker 2: They have no bargaining power. They have no bargaining power whatsoever, except.
- 11:38Speaker 4: That in the deal they say that if you lay
- 11:41Speaker 4: down arms, then they're not going after you. And the
- 11:44Speaker 4: ones who are in Katar, the leadership, they can stay there.
- 11:47Speaker 2: Yeah, Israel has not said that. Israel.
- 11:50Speaker 4: Maybe that's in the peace plan.
- 11:52Speaker 3: It is, but Hamas is not accepted the peace plan
- 11:54Speaker 3: except one of the provisions. And it's now it's just
- 11:58Speaker 3: question of do they does Hamas cave Israel I think
- 12:03Speaker 3: will stop during the negotiations, will in fact stop the
- 12:08Speaker 3: war the incursion of the indiscriminate bombing.
- 12:10Speaker 2: I think Israel will maybe not.
- 12:12Speaker 3: Could be that once the hostage is released, Netignano not
- 12:16Speaker 3: Nettiano goes the balls to the wall. And then we
- 12:18Speaker 3: go back to President Trump. If he says okay to
- 12:21Speaker 3: that Gaza is decimated even more than it is now.
- 12:24Speaker 3: If he says no, I think Israel has to cowtown.
- 12:28Speaker 3: I think there is that much influence the president has,
- 12:31Speaker 3: And if peace does break out, it'll be another argument
- 12:34Speaker 3: for no longer the Nobel Peace Prize it would be
- 12:36Speaker 3: renamed the Trump Peace Prize, of which he will be
- 12:39Speaker 3: the first recipient. By the way, I have his face
- 12:43Speaker 3: on the coin on the coin. Yeah, yeah, exactly.
- 12:46Speaker 2: Mount Everest, you know, not on my list of things
- 12:48Speaker 2: to do.
- 12:49Speaker 5: No, awfully impressed when I hear people do such a thing,
- 12:53Speaker 5: but not my cup of tea. Look at it from
- 12:57Speaker 5: the ground. So you have one hundred of trekkers that
- 13:01Speaker 5: go up there. They're having unusual weather, and I got
- 13:04Speaker 5: to imagine that's pretty intense to say, because the weather
- 13:08Speaker 5: up there is.
- 13:09Speaker 2: Intense all the time.
- 13:10Speaker 5: Right, So you have a bunch of these trekkers going
- 13:14Speaker 5: up the eastern face of Mount Everest there in Tibet.
- 13:17Speaker 2: And I've been to Tibet. Haven't climbed the mountain.
- 13:20Speaker 4: Have you seen the mountain?
- 13:21Speaker 5: Yeah, it's pretty, it's tall. So as of yesterday you
- 13:29Speaker 5: had three hundred and fifty trekkers. They had reached a
- 13:32Speaker 5: small town of Quadang Wu Dang. While contact with the
- 13:39Speaker 5: remaining two hundred plus trekkers been made. They haven't gotten
- 13:43Speaker 5: them yet, but they cleared out snow and they took
- 13:46Speaker 5: care of them, brought them down to where they could
- 13:49Speaker 5: get some warmth and some food and happy campers there.
- 13:53Speaker 5: But they're saying, yet it's unusually even more intense than normal,
- 13:59Speaker 5: and they were just thinking people are going to get
- 14:00Speaker 5: frost bite, it's going to go.
- 14:03Speaker 4: Do you know what's amazing about that is that there
- 14:05Speaker 4: were three hundred and fifty of them. I think of
- 14:06Speaker 4: like little small groups people trekking in the mouths, but
- 14:10Speaker 4: that's three hundred and fifty at the same time.
- 14:13Speaker 2: Yeah, not only let me. Did you know how many
- 14:15Speaker 2: people you've seen photos of or video of the people
- 14:18Speaker 2: that are lined up to summit to go to the summit.
- 14:22Speaker 2: It's like a line at Disneyland in the middle of
- 14:25Speaker 2: the summer. I mean they literally have to take turns
- 14:28Speaker 2: and wait for hours. It's crazy.
- 14:30Speaker 3: And you know how much money it costs to go
- 14:32Speaker 3: up there for an individual trekker. If you wanted to go,
- 14:37Speaker 3: it's about seventy five thousand dollars per person.
- 14:40Speaker 2: And you complain about Disneyland, I wouldn't go. I think
- 14:43Speaker 2: it's people are crazy to do that. I mean, oh,
- 14:45Speaker 2: and you die.
- 14:46Speaker 3: That's oh, that's the other thing I forgot to sell you.
- 14:47Speaker 2: You end up dying.
- 14:49Speaker 3: And you get altitude sickness, and you get frostbite and
- 14:53Speaker 3: lose fingers and toes and hands, and you pay a
- 14:56Speaker 3: lot of money for that. See, if you want to
- 14:59Speaker 3: lose your toes, to show you how to do it
- 15:00Speaker 3: for free, you don't have to pay that much money.
- 15:04Speaker 3: So summiting to to Everest is okay, quick factoid. First
- 15:09Speaker 3: person to uh actually summit out Mount Everest when it
- 15:13Speaker 3: happened with who's the name?
- 15:15Speaker 5: Well, it's you. I'm assuming you're gonna say it's not Hillary.
- 15:20Speaker 3: Actually it is Hillary, Okay, because I thought that after Hillary.
- 15:24Speaker 2: Yeah it was Hillary Clinton. No, it's correct. Last name.
- 15:29Speaker 2: It was, yes, Sir.
- 15:30Speaker 3: Edmund Hillary New New Zealand, nineteen fifty three. But he
- 15:34Speaker 3: wasn't actually the man to summit.
- 15:36Speaker 2: That's what I was wondering if you was.
- 15:39Speaker 3: It's sort of controversial at this point because it could
- 15:41Speaker 3: have been his Sherpa Norgay Tenzig or Tenzig Norgay And enough.
- 15:46Speaker 2: Of that, why don't we go ahead and move on?
- 15:50Speaker 2: Move on?
- 15:50Speaker 4: Well that was quick. French Prime Minister Sebastian Lakrnou resigned
- 15:58Speaker 4: just hours after he unveiled his new cabinet. The prime
- 16:01Speaker 4: minister has been a key ally of French President Emmanuel Maccron,
- 16:06Speaker 4: whose presidency apparently not going very well. He had only
- 16:09Speaker 4: been in office for like four weeks before he stepped down.
- 16:14Speaker 4: That's the shortest serving prime minister since the Fifth Republic began.
- 16:19Speaker 4: When did the Fifth Republic begin?
- 16:20Speaker 2: Bill after World War Two?
- 16:23Speaker 4: I think after World War two. Okay, clear sign yet
- 16:25Speaker 4: that Macrone has run out of road after five prime
- 16:28Speaker 4: ministers in less than two years. He's just not able
- 16:30Speaker 4: to get any traction and get their government running again.
- 16:36Speaker 2: Yeah, the French don't know how to do. They do
- 16:38Speaker 2: a lot of things very well, baguettes and bree cheese,
- 16:41Speaker 2: they do great crapes.
- 16:43Speaker 3: They don't do government very well. Although if you're a worker,
- 16:47Speaker 3: France is a great place to go. You retire at
- 16:49Speaker 3: the age of thirty three. You work a two and
- 16:54Speaker 3: a half hour day with an hour and a half
- 16:56Speaker 3: of it for lunch. It's really not bad like your schedule.
- 17:01Speaker 2: It does, doesn't it. It's pretty good, all right.
- 17:05Speaker 5: I had for a long time got to see Mark
- 17:08Speaker 5: Sanchez play for sc going to the games. He's an
- 17:12Speaker 5: ex quarterback for the NFL as well, and he was
- 17:15Speaker 5: pepper sprayed and stabbed multiple times this weekend by a
- 17:21Speaker 5: sixty nine year old truck driver. This was in downtown Indianapolis.
- 17:27Speaker 5: It's an interesting story. So apparently this box truck was
- 17:31Speaker 5: backing up into you know, an unloading bay kind of alleyway,
- 17:37Speaker 5: and they got into an alter altercation of some kind,
- 17:39Speaker 5: and the sixty year old, sixty nine year old truck
- 17:42Speaker 5: driver said, this guy came at him. It was Sanchez
- 17:45Speaker 5: apparently charging him and trying to get into his car,
- 17:50Speaker 5: and it got ugly. The guy pepper sprayed him and
- 17:53Speaker 5: said that he was still coming at him and he
- 17:55Speaker 5: feared for his life and he stabbed him three times.
- 17:58Speaker 5: And so not only did Mark Sanchez, thirty eight years
- 18:02Speaker 5: old and up in the hospital, he also ended up
- 18:06Speaker 5: getting arrested.
- 18:09Speaker 2: Weird story. It is weird.
- 18:13Speaker 4: Mucking Mega Bad Bunny hosted Saturday Night Lives season premiere,
- 18:20Speaker 4: and he said he's very happy about being named as
- 18:24Speaker 4: the halftime performer at Super Bowl. He says he thinks
- 18:27Speaker 4: everybody is happy about it, even Fox News, and then
- 18:30Speaker 4: played a montage of Fox hosts saying, hey, Bad Bunny's
- 18:34Speaker 4: my favorite musician. He should be the next president. And
- 18:37Speaker 4: he's saying all of this because there has been a
- 18:40Speaker 4: huge backlash. People are upset that the NFL picked Bad
- 18:45Speaker 4: Bunny to headline the Super Bowl halftime show in February.
- 18:49Speaker 4: Of course Bad Bunny is Puerto Rican and.
- 18:53Speaker 2: Well he's not even American.
- 18:54Speaker 3: Just ask those people, ask the conspiracy folks.
- 18:58Speaker 2: They don't even have it American there. But he says.
- 19:04Speaker 3: He's American. No, no, it's not no, no, you're You're
- 19:07Speaker 3: not American.
- 19:08Speaker 2: You're star.
- 19:10Speaker 3: Why would it be what is not politicized today? Tell
- 19:14Speaker 3: me what is not politicized?
- 19:16Speaker 2: And you know what? He should give it to them,
- 19:18Speaker 2: And I'll tell you why. Because his name is bad Bunny,
- 19:21Speaker 2: not good Bunny. Good? Were we expecting good? Point? He's
- 19:26Speaker 2: also the whole issue of this bunny issue.
- 19:29Speaker 3: Uh, I mean, realistically, do straight guys call themselves bunny?
- 19:34Speaker 2: I mean, yeah, give me a breath. I'm he's a
- 19:38Speaker 2: Kendall Jenner. I think the guy.
- 19:41Speaker 5: Uh, what's the term that you young folks use?
- 19:45Speaker 2: Pulls tail? He's doing just fine. Handle.
- 19:51Speaker 3: Actually I'm a fan, but I don't want to admit that.
- 19:54Speaker 5: Okay, moving on, all right, gab Newsom signing a bill
- 20:00Speaker 5: giving eight hundred thousand uber and lyft drivers in California
- 20:04Speaker 5: the right to unionize Good for them. And guess what
- 20:09Speaker 5: by to Uber and Lyft, it's already it cost me
- 20:14Speaker 5: to cot seven and a half miles from my house
- 20:18Speaker 5: to the station on Saturday. We were going out afterwards,
- 20:21Speaker 5: so I took an Uber there so my wife could
- 20:23Speaker 5: pick me up afterwards. And uh, it cost thirty five
- 20:29Speaker 5: dollars plus tip.
- 20:32Speaker 2: Seven and a half miles. Well, they do dynamic pricing,
- 20:36Speaker 2: don't they. So it was Saturday.
- 20:38Speaker 5: Afternoon, So yeah, Saturday afternoon for one.
- 20:42Speaker 2: I don't know, you know, how how about how.
- 20:45Speaker 5: About a taxi? We're going back to being a taxi.
- 20:50Speaker 3: You know, I don't think it's the Uber driver that's
- 20:52Speaker 3: getting it getting all the money. It's you know, Uber
- 20:55Speaker 3: and Lyft themselves, which is really strange. But they're independent,
- 21:00Speaker 3: they're independent contractors. Yet they can negotiate as a union together,
- 21:06Speaker 3: which it's sort of a contradiction in terms.
- 21:08Speaker 2: So let's quite understand this. The model will be broken
- 21:12Speaker 2: and then, you know, and then it will be on what.
- 21:16Speaker 4: Went wrong because it used to be that the drivers
- 21:19Speaker 4: got paid better. And now when I go you hear
- 21:23Speaker 4: the drivers talking about it. They're like, you know, they're
- 21:25Speaker 4: squeezing us to death. They don't make nearly the money
- 21:27Speaker 4: they take. They did more and more.
- 21:29Speaker 3: You know, when Uber first started, I think five percent
- 21:32Speaker 3: that Uber took something ridiculous like nothing.
- 21:35Speaker 5: Yeah, but they built the entire infrastructure. I mean that
- 21:39Speaker 5: that app that being able to call a car, being able.
- 21:42Speaker 3: To know they did, understood, and it's built, and it's built,
- 21:46Speaker 3: and and they're squeezing the drivers more and more and
- 21:50Speaker 3: more they are.
- 21:51Speaker 2: That was gig economy originally and now it just is it.
- 21:54Speaker 3: Just I you were talk Every time I jump in
- 21:58Speaker 3: an Uber car, I talk to the driver and hopefully
- 22:02Speaker 3: he speaks English most of the time.
- 22:03Speaker 2: No, And I ask, you know, how what do you do?
- 22:08Speaker 3: And of course it's the second job for everybody except
- 22:10Speaker 3: those that do this full time. And it's a ten
- 22:12Speaker 3: hour day, seven days a week. Is the only way
- 22:16Speaker 3: you can make a living at it. I mean, what
- 22:19Speaker 3: does that tell you if that's kind of work you have.
- 22:22Speaker 4: Okay, one of the Hawks is home, which is great news.
- 22:29Speaker 4: So the Harris Hawks were stolen from Sofi Stadium more
- 22:35Speaker 4: than a week ago. And if you'll recall, they were
- 22:38Speaker 4: in their containers in the back of like a gator
- 22:42Speaker 4: type vehicle and somebody took off in the vehicle. It
- 22:46Speaker 4: later turned up near Century City and there is video
- 22:51Speaker 4: of some hawks being released and they've been out flying
- 22:55Speaker 4: around for like a week. Well, somebody spotted one of
- 22:57Speaker 4: them yesterday and Hassi and the Heights called police. Police
- 23:00Speaker 4: called the owner and he came down and retrieved Bubba.
- 23:05Speaker 4: So he's got Bubba back. And then the second hawk
- 23:07Speaker 4: though is Alice. She's still on the loose, but he
- 23:10Speaker 4: says now that they found the one, they're hopeful that
- 23:12Speaker 4: they'll find the other one.
- 23:15Speaker 2: All right.
- 23:16Speaker 5: California Institution for Women, this is You've got cal State's
- 23:19Speaker 5: LA prisons system and they have a graduation program and
- 23:24Speaker 5: you just had about almost two dozen women get their
- 23:29Speaker 5: ear their Bachelors of Arts in Liberal studies.
- 23:32Speaker 3: Good for them, No, it's a bachelor's degree out of
- 23:37Speaker 3: cal State LA.
- 23:38Speaker 2: And to these women who are.
- 23:40Speaker 3: In prison, which you talk about rehabilitation, that's pretty impressive.
- 23:46Speaker 5: I think that's the education is key to any of
- 23:48Speaker 5: that stuff. And if somebody shows an initiative to work
- 23:51Speaker 5: towards she.
- 23:52Speaker 2: Was the goal like that, it's a good sign. Yeah.
- 23:54Speaker 3: In the valedictorian gave a speech on how now you
- 23:59Speaker 3: can write a some note with proper grammar, which I
- 24:02Speaker 3: thought was pretty impressive.
- 24:03Speaker 5: Billy Jean King was the one who gave the keynote address.
- 24:10Speaker 4: Uh, we got a lot of bodies and USC is
- 24:16Speaker 4: selenym USC apparently has sold dozens of cadavers to the
- 24:20Speaker 4: US Navy to use for medical trauma training for Israel
- 24:25Speaker 4: Israeli defense forces. The Navy recort reportedly paid more than
- 24:29Speaker 4: eight hundred and sixty thousand dollars for at least eighty
- 24:32Speaker 4: nine bodies. Thirty two of them were used for IDF training.
- 24:36Speaker 4: So apparently they take the cadavers, they pump them full
- 24:39Speaker 4: of artificial blood, which allows for realistic learning of anatomy
- 24:44Speaker 4: experience and instrumentation handling, and use of actual technical procedures
- 24:49Speaker 4: to treat traumatic injuries.
- 24:51Speaker 2: Well, let me ask this.
- 24:52Speaker 3: They blow them up if these bodies or that will work,
- 24:55Speaker 3: if these bodies have been donated to whatever organization does this,
- 25:02Speaker 3: Whether you for science, I don't know, because there's some
- 25:05Speaker 3: weird donating your body to science issues where you really
- 25:08Speaker 3: don't know.
- 25:09Speaker 2: What's where they're going. But that could be completely legitimate.
- 25:14Speaker 2: It's just a it's a weird story.
- 25:16Speaker 3: But you have someone who donates his or her body
- 25:19Speaker 3: goes to the US Navy, and then the US Navy
- 25:22Speaker 3: turns around and sells parts and pieces and bodies to
- 25:27Speaker 3: the military or uses itself to train Israeli soldiers. I
- 25:32Speaker 3: tell you, I don't see anything particularly wrong with this.
- 25:34Speaker 4: I really don't, well, except that if they're donating their
- 25:37Speaker 4: bodies to science, then USC is charging hundreds of thousands
- 25:43Speaker 4: of dollars for them.
- 25:46Speaker 3: File you know, here's it is, don't I donate it
- 25:49Speaker 3: to science and then science can do whatever the hell
- 25:51Speaker 3: it wants.
- 25:52Speaker 2: And I'm okay with this.
- 25:56Speaker 3: And by the way, it's I don't think they sell
- 25:58Speaker 3: it to is real.
- 26:01Speaker 2: What they do is they allow Israeli I guess.
- 26:04Speaker 3: Medical students a medical personnel to work on these bodies
- 26:09Speaker 3: and to practice trauma medicine. I don't see anything particularly
- 26:16Speaker 3: wrong with this.
- 26:17Speaker 5: Wasn't there a story not too long ago, Amy where
- 26:21Speaker 5: the son of a woman who donated her body to
- 26:25Speaker 5: science he found out they blew it up that they
- 26:28Speaker 5: were doing tests, military tests on it or something.
- 26:31Speaker 2: He's like, that's not what she thought was going to happen,
- 26:35Speaker 2: or something.
- 26:36Speaker 4: I don't remember hearing about, like an.
- 26:37Speaker 5: Organ donor or something, and she ended up you know,
- 26:41Speaker 5: being strapped to a chair or something and blowed up.
- 26:44Speaker 3: But she don't know once. I don't think it's specific
- 26:46Speaker 3: when you donate your body to science.
- 26:48Speaker 2: I really don't.
- 26:50Speaker 3: Let's say you donate a kidney and you've had the
- 26:53Speaker 3: disease that you've.
- 26:54Speaker 2: Had, the poly they just blow up the kidney.
- 26:57Speaker 3: Yeah, or they use the kidney which is now hard
- 27:00Speaker 3: in the softball games among medical students, And that is
- 27:05Speaker 3: donating your body to science, isn't it.
- 27:08Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 27:08Speaker 5: Well, yeah, so the polycystic renal disease is benefiting hockey
- 27:13Speaker 5: or football or baseball. Yeah, Okay, tracks been there on
- 27:20Speaker 5: that hill and Big Bear is shaking, rattling and rolling.
- 27:26Speaker 5: They had a couple of earthquakes, two measuring three point
- 27:30Speaker 5: five around eleven pm on Saturday night, and then they
- 27:36Speaker 5: had another one that was three point four, and then
- 27:40Speaker 5: another one that was two point five, so three in all.
- 27:43Speaker 5: But they just kept shaking and shaking and shaking.
- 27:46Speaker 3: But there's nothing there. I mean, three point five is nothing.
- 27:49Speaker 3: When trucks rumble past the station, it's more of a
- 27:53Speaker 3: jolt than a three point five earthquake.
- 27:56Speaker 5: Yeah, it didn't trigger any of our security stuff, cameras
- 28:00Speaker 5: or anything.
- 28:04Speaker 4: Looks like American is gonna look the other way. So
- 28:07Speaker 4: they're American Airlines is trying to speed up the boarding process, which,
- 28:11Speaker 4: as we know if you ever fly, can be very laborious.
- 28:17Speaker 4: So they say that now they are going to remove
- 28:20Speaker 4: those bag sizers from the gates all across the US,
- 28:25Speaker 4: and that's effective today.
- 28:27Speaker 3: All right here, Question number one, have you ever either
- 28:31Speaker 3: experienced yourself, used them yourself or have seen anybody use
- 28:36Speaker 3: those bag sizers? Because your bags basically have to be
- 28:41Speaker 3: six inches wide and so big and so long, and
- 28:46Speaker 3: everybody's carry on is three times that size.
- 28:53Speaker 2: I hope that's the question. Have you ever you ever
- 28:56Speaker 2: used one?
- 28:56Speaker 4: I have, but it was it was during the pandemic
- 28:59Speaker 4: when they really start to cracking down. But since then
- 29:03Speaker 4: I haven't had to check and they haven't asked me.
- 29:06Speaker 2: Hey, i've seen anybody ask because you're never.
- 29:11Speaker 5: Going to get you actually pretty egregious when they like,
- 29:14Speaker 5: you can tell someone's rolling something big in and then
- 29:21Speaker 5: they'll ask.
- 29:22Speaker 2: But well, usually is because it won't fit in the overhead.
- 29:25Speaker 3: That's when they say you've got to check in forget
- 29:27Speaker 3: about these bag sizers.
- 29:30Speaker 2: Okay, moving on.
- 29:32Speaker 5: All right, Nobel peace, Prize, just like Bill was nominated.
- 29:36Speaker 5: Now if some other folks are nominated, and we'll hear
- 29:40Speaker 5: today the announcement for the twenty twenty five Nobel Peace Prize.
- 29:45Speaker 5: In this particular case, it's going to be physology and medicine.
- 29:49Speaker 4: They actually announced it.
- 29:52Speaker 2: Oh they are, Yeah, this breaking through.
- 29:54Speaker 4: Yeah, two Americans are among the three people given the
- 29:58Speaker 4: Nobel Prize for medicine.
- 30:00Speaker 3: Say yeah, because it goes on all week. It's Monday
- 30:03Speaker 3: through Friday, and the last one, the last one is Friday,
- 30:07Speaker 3: and that one is in Oslo, where all the rest
- 30:10Speaker 3: of them are in Stockholm. And so I think the
- 30:14Speaker 3: best story that is certainly recent story is when Bob
- 30:17Speaker 3: Dylan won the Nobel Prize for Literature, which was extraordinary.
- 30:23Speaker 3: The first songwriter who has ever been nominated, or certainly
- 30:26Speaker 3: the first songwriter ever who had ever won the Nobel
- 30:28Speaker 3: Peace Prize. He didn't show up to accept it, just
- 30:32Speaker 3: wouldn't go No thanks, Why because he's Bob Dylan. Do
- 30:39Speaker 3: you remember Oldchella, Yeah, yeah, it was Oldchella and they
- 30:47Speaker 3: had Bob Dylan there and Paul McCartney and the Rolling Stones.
- 30:51Speaker 3: That were extraordinary. That was on a Friday, or that
- 30:55Speaker 3: was on a Saturday. He had just been awarded the
- 30:58Speaker 3: Nobel Prize for Literature. And this is the gal who
- 31:01Speaker 3: does the pr for the folks who put it on.
- 31:04Speaker 3: And she was telling me that Mick Jagger wanted to
- 31:09Speaker 3: go knock on Paul. Mick Jagger wanted to go on Dylan,
- 31:15Speaker 3: knock on Dylan's door, actually his tent, to walk in
- 31:18Speaker 3: and congratulate him. And Dylan said, now, I'm not interested
- 31:21Speaker 3: in talking to you. This is saying noted Mick Jagger
- 31:24Speaker 3: during the concert. He just does not care. You know,
- 31:29Speaker 3: Dylan does half of his concerts with his back to
- 31:32Speaker 3: the audience.
- 31:32Speaker 2: He doesn't even look at the audience.
- 31:35Speaker 3: He's a weird guy who says, well, he accepted the
- 31:38Speaker 3: prize later on the day before it expired. You have
- 31:41Speaker 3: to accept it yourself. But he wouldn't show up to
- 31:43Speaker 3: the ceremony, not interested.
- 31:46Speaker 2: Weird guy.
- 31:47Speaker 5: Well, you know what the meda, the medicine or the
- 31:50Speaker 5: medical winner last year was for micro rna.
- 31:55Speaker 3: Weird weird winners of the Nobel Prizes just weird ones,
- 31:59Speaker 3: weird one and those who lost or were not given it,
- 32:03Speaker 3: and particularly in literature.
- 32:05Speaker 5: Is this if this peace deal goes through do you
- 32:08Speaker 5: think Trump will be nominated?
- 32:10Speaker 2: Oh, he's ominated already, Are you kidding?
- 32:13Speaker 3: He's nominated by everybody who is a fan of his
- 32:16Speaker 3: or an ally of his.
- 32:18Speaker 2: Will he ever get it?
- 32:19Speaker 3: No, And even if he deserves it, he'll never get
- 32:22Speaker 3: it because too many people dislike him personally.
- 32:27Speaker 2: You remember when he got it fantastic.
- 32:29Speaker 3: For the prize publicly, I think is considered a no
- 32:33Speaker 3: no among the Nobel Committee.
- 32:35Speaker 5: Yeah, that's pretty tacky. But you remember when Obama got
- 32:38Speaker 5: it for.
- 32:39Speaker 3: Being elected, for being elected, for being elected, because that
- 32:45Speaker 3: was his claim to fame.
- 32:47Speaker 2: He had just been elected and he won the Nobel
- 32:49Speaker 2: Peace Prize. Pretty impressives being born. Yeah, all right, kfi
- 32:55Speaker 2: A M sixty.
- 32:57Speaker 3: You've been listening to the Bill Handle Show My Show
- 33:00Speaker 3: Monday through Friday six am to nine am, and anytime
- 33:04Speaker 3: on demand on the iHeartRadio app
