Latest / Harder Than Life / Rejected? Good. You’re Closer Than You Think
Transcript
- 0:00Happy Monday, Heart and Life Nation. It's Kelly Siegel and this is The Hard Reset. This week, we're talking about something everyone faces, but few handle well. Rejection. Whether it's in business, relationships, or life, you're going to hear no often. The question is, how do you take care of that no without losing momentum? Remember, every rejection is a redirection, but I digress. Here's the truth.
- 0:29Rejection stings. Doesn't matter how tough you are. Nobody likes to feel unwanted or unchosen. But rejection isn't fatal, it's feedback. Think about sales. I've had days where I've made 50 calls and heard no
- 0:4449 times. Did it suck? Hell yes. But here's the perspective shift. Those 49 no's got me closer to that one yes that paid off big time. Or think about relationships. You get ghosted, someone says no, you feel crushed. But if you zoom out, that rejection just saved you time with the wrong person. Rejection redirects. It teaches, it filters.
- 1:13The people who lose aren't the ones who hear no. They're the ones who let no. Stop them from asking again. So instead of taking rejection as a sign you're not good enough, take it as proof you're in the arena. You're taking swings. You're putting yourself out there. Remember, the very best hitters in baseball get rejected 70% of the time.
- 1:40You're putting yourself out there, you're stepping into the arena and you're taking swings. The only way you don't get rejected is if you don't step up to the plate and you're hiding. And hiding is the fastest way to guarantee failure. Don't take rejection personal. Take it as data.
- 1:58Let it refine you, not define you. Momentum only dies if you quit. Keep swinging. Keep showing up. Keep stepping into that arena. The yes is out there, but only if you keep moving through the no's. See you again tomorrow with world's fastest man, Justin Gatlin. And we're breaking down the mindset of winning.
- 2:25And on Thursday, for another one of our exclusive times together, I'll be talking about Trauma to Triumph, Turn Your Darkest Night Into Your Brightest Dawn.
