Transcript
- 0:00You got to hit rock bottom before you can rise. You got to die before you can be resurrected.
- 0:07Embrace being a loser because when you do, then at that point,
- 0:12you have nothing to lose.
- 0:14My name is Brandon Fogel. This is Evolution.
- 0:17Let's dive into it. All right, so there's a lot of news happening right now,
- 0:21but I wanted to start it off with embracing who you are because who you are
- 0:27is not necessarily meant for everyone.
- 0:31And until you forget about how everyone looks at you, you won't really be free.
- 0:38You're only going to be confined in a box in your own mind.
- 0:43You're going to be controlled by how others view you and how you perceive that others view you.
- 0:50Who gives a crap? Who cares? Who cares?
- 0:53Why would we care about anything? there's only one opinion that matters.
- 0:59And you might think I'm going to say it's your own opinion about yourself.
- 1:02No, the only opinion that matters at all is God's.
- 1:07God's opinion on you, that's the only thing that matters. Who cares what other
- 1:11people think? Throw it out the window.
- 1:14Don't live in this prison of your own mind.
- 1:18And I'm not talking to everyone out there, because a lot of people out in this
- 1:22world are, you know, it's all about image. It's all about self-confidence.
- 1:28It's all about building yourself up and just making you so you can make it through each day sometimes.
- 1:35Or you're just, or you're, everything is circumstances. Everything in life is what controls you.
- 1:41You're a prison, prisoner, even though you might not literally be in a prison,
- 1:45you are a prisoner of your circumstances.
- 1:48You're a prisoner of whatever you are, whatever's thrown into your lap each
- 1:52day, as opposed to living in freedom,
- 1:55not thinking that I got to get to that point and then I will have happiness
- 2:01and then I will have success and then I will have meaning to life.
- 2:06But every day is a journey and embrace the journey.
- 2:11The journey is all that matters. You know, you don't have to reach the end of
- 2:15the rainbow and then I'll have happiness.
- 2:18You know, it's the pursuit of happiness, the pursuit. And that's why every moment can be joy.
- 2:25Every moment can be meaningful. Every moment can be awesome as opposed to just,
- 2:31well, what I got to get through today so I can get, you know,
- 2:34get home so I can watch some Netflix.
- 2:36What do I got to get through today so I can go home and throw back a few?
- 2:40What do I got to get through today so that I can have some happiness with whatever
- 2:46it is I have put in my mind for that moment in time, because it's always changing.
- 2:50Everything's always fluctuating.
- 2:52You know, life is meaningless until you find the one meaning.
- 2:56You got to find the one meaning first. There is one meaning out there.
- 2:59There is one meaning out there for, for everyone.
- 3:01And you got to find it. You got to find it. But if you are just,
- 3:04if your head is on a swivel and you're just looking in all different directions
- 3:07and you don't, and you're not finding it, it might be because you're not looking for it.
- 3:11And you're just drowning in
- 3:12your own circumstances, drowning in the waves of life that hit everyone.
- 3:17And everybody's living in their own world. Everyone is living in their own world,
- 3:21you know, experiencing what they perceive as their own reality.
- 3:24And there's a lot to that, you know. What you perceive and what you are going
- 3:29through is the reality you have.
- 3:31You don't know what anyone else thinks. You're not inside their heads.
- 3:35You can't get anyone else's intentions, though you might try to get everyone
- 3:39else's intentions on anything.
- 3:41And what they, all you can do is look at everyone's actions,
- 3:44the actions of this world.
- 3:45And you got to live within your own head. You know, don't get outside of your
- 3:49own head and embrace the journey that you are experiencing in your own head. There's joy.
- 3:54There is definitely joy and you got to find it. You got to find it.
- 3:58You got to seek it. You got to seek it out.
- 4:00You know, it's lost treasure because you can, you can like throw this off,
- 4:04throw this to the side and say, oh, that's a lunatic talking.
- 4:07You know, I got stuff to do. I got bills to pay.
- 4:10I got money to make. I got to create something in my life that is going to have
- 4:15real significance as opposed to there is significance already out there.
- 4:22It's just, you got to grasp it. You know, it's got you and you're not going
- 4:25to find it by just, just toying around and by just stumbling through life.
- 4:29All right, so I say all that to say because I've gotten to the point where,
- 4:34and I might not be talking to everyone, you know, I'm not talking to everyone. I'm talking to you.
- 4:39I'm talking to you. Have you thrown away the chains in your life?
- 4:44Have you thrown away the thought that everybody else's opinion matters?
- 4:51Or are you entangled in that? Do you feel like a loser? Do you feel like a winner?
- 4:57I've went back and forth like, do I need to build myself up?
- 5:00Do I need to make myself? I am a winner. I'm going to achieve.
- 5:03I'm going to do great things.
- 5:06As opposed to, heck yeah, I'm a loser. Whatever.
- 5:09I'm a loser. Because when you hit rock bottom, you got nothing to lose.
- 5:14You have nothing to lose. There's nothing more to lose.
- 5:17You have peace. Because, and that's the only point you can do.
- 5:20You can only rise unless you hit that bottom, you know? And everybody's bottom is different.
- 5:25Everybody's rock bottom is different. But I would encourage you,
- 5:29if you haven't, if you, because you might not be there yet. Everybody else,
- 5:33everybody is in their own season.
- 5:35Things might be going great. Things might be going terrible.
- 5:38But what I'm trying to get across is it doesn't matter the circumstances.
- 5:42It doesn't matter how big our bank account is.
- 5:45It doesn't matter how, if we got every, if everyone out there that we love loves
- 5:49us, all that matters is the one opinion that matters is God's.
- 5:54That's all that matters.
- 5:55And then you can have freedom in that. You can have freedom in that, you know?
- 5:58All right. So I want, we're going to switch gears a little bit.
- 6:01I'm going to, we're going to change over to, if you have not heard,
- 6:04There's a lot of news happening, as there always is. You know,
- 6:07that's why it's called the news. It's new every day.
- 6:09And the news I'm talking about is the dismantling of the Department of Education
- 6:14was enacted by President Trump, signed an executive order yesterday.
- 6:20What's that going to mean for everyone? And I know because, I mean, anybody can see this.
- 6:26Anybody can see this show right now and across the world. And this might not
- 6:33matter to anyone outside of the continental United States.
- 6:36But in the United States, this is what I grew up with, you know?
- 6:41The Department of Education was all we ever knew, you know, and things were
- 6:45and there were good intentions when enacting it and putting it into place.
- 6:50And everybody has their own opinion.
- 6:51Do you think the school system that we have built up, that we have created,
- 6:56is it a good thing for our young people?
- 6:59Because I remember like years ago, there was a book called, you know,
- 7:02it's all about dumbing us down, you know, and it's just the education's all
- 7:06about teaching kids to be, you know, robots and to obey.
- 7:11To when the bell rings, you go to the next class.
- 7:14And I mean, it is, in a sense, become just a daycare. It's become a daycare in a lot of ways.
- 7:21And maybe to keep kids off the street, you know, they're not doing,
- 7:26they're all not up to no good.
- 7:28But I mean, I just think there's, we lose a lot of freedom of choice in the
- 7:33educational system with the way that it is now.
- 7:36There's not from the ground up with what people want to send their,
- 7:40where they want to send their kids and just the governmental waste that is in
- 7:44it. But there are a lot of good things.
- 7:45You can't throw out everything because with, like, with charities and all that,
- 7:50with organizations wanting to do, have charities and take care of good things.
- 7:54A lot of times the government is the one who has to step in,
- 7:57you know, so I understand that. I'm not a person that is just throw out all the government.
- 8:01We need government. We need, but we need limited government.
- 8:04We definitely need limited government. And when the government.
- 8:08Because that is like, when you think of churches, they'll get that tax exemption.
- 8:14They'll get that whatever, 501, blah, blah, blah, whatever.
- 8:18So, but then it's like the government has got a hand on you.
- 8:21The government has got paws on you that, yeah, we're going to give you an exemption.
- 8:26We're not going to make you pay taxes or something, but then you step out of line and
- 8:31Maybe you go against the current culture of the day and you say something that
- 8:35is biblical and something that aligns with the Bible and is not the accepted norm.
- 8:40The government might step in, you know, those who are in power that are not
- 8:44in line with what God has laid out, they might lose power.
- 8:49They might lose the ability to have that money because it's like everything
- 8:54comes with strings attached.
- 8:56Everything comes with strings attached. I mean, it's the same thing with the
- 8:59Department of Education.
- 9:00You know, when we allow the government to do everything and they're controlling
- 9:03everything as opposed to from the ground roots, let the people decide where
- 9:08I want to send our kids, what I want them to be learning,
- 9:11you know, bring it back to the states, bring, let localities have a say in how
- 9:16they want their kids being raised and what they want to be taught.
- 9:19Because there's so many things in school.
- 9:22It's like, we really got to rethink this. Like, why are we teaching some of
- 9:26the things that we're teaching?
- 9:27And it's not to say at all about the teachers because they're wonderful teachers
- 9:30out there but let's change like maybe,
- 9:33what we're teaching, what is valuable does everyone need to know the elemental
- 9:37chart, which everyone forgets after they leave that class,
- 9:41as opposed to just general principles and really think when somebody goes out
- 9:46into the real world because a lot of times people go out into the real world
- 9:48because you just gotta go to school so you can go to school and go to school
- 9:52and go to school and get a degree.
- 9:55It's definitely still good things
- 9:56but it's like, does everyone have to be going the same lockstep way?
- 10:02So I think we should, this is a good thing for us going into maybe a different direction.
- 10:08You know, the pendulum's always going to swing. I always say that it's always
- 10:11going to swing back and forth.
- 10:12So don't overstep, but I think Trump is doing a great thing by dismantling something
- 10:18we know is wrong. Let's rebuild it. Let's rebuild it.
- 10:22That's not to say that all schools lose funding. It's not to say that all teachers
- 10:25lose their jobs because teachers are wonderful, absolutely wonderful,
- 10:29but people can get set in their ways and people can get where they are untouchable.
- 10:35They feel untouchable and they are going to drive home their agenda as opposed
- 10:40to in whatever area you're in.
- 10:42You say you're in LA, you're in California, do your things your way.
- 10:46Say you're in Kansas City, do your things your way.
- 10:49What you think is right, what the people at that locality have decided on is
- 10:55the direction we, and things we should be teaching our kids,
- 10:57you know, things that we, let's just not have a government overreach that everything is controlled,
- 11:02you know, from the top down, but rather from the bottom up.
- 11:05It's not to say remove all funding,
- 11:06you know, and I don't, I don't think that this is going to do that.
- 11:09This is not going to do that. You know, people will not allow it to do that,
- 11:13but it's something that is major changes are happening. major changes are happening.
- 11:18And can we rebuild? You know, it's from the ashes up, from the ashes up,
- 11:23everything can be great.
- 11:24We have the potentiality to make things great and whatever we're doing.
- 11:29So there's a personal element to this, you know, for like, because for you,
- 11:34are you finding joy in life?
- 11:36Are you finding significance and purpose?
- 11:38I would say definitely you have to die before you can be resurrected.
- 11:41And this department of education.
- 11:44It's got to die before it can be resurrected into something that is great.
- 11:49And it will be something that is great. I know it will.
- 11:52The way that we are going to change the direction of how we are educating kids,
- 11:57you know, education is a great thing.
- 11:59Indoctrination is not a great thing. Let people learn what is going to be useful and valuable to them.
- 12:04We are United States, Americans, we are sovereigns of our nation.
- 12:10We do not have a king ruling over us. We do not have a king ruling over us.
- 12:14We are the sovereigns of this nation. We are the ones that control the government.
- 12:19We are the bosses of those politicians.
- 12:23We are the bosses. They are not the bosses over us. We got to flip that.
- 12:29They are not this oligarchy that is up there that is controlling us, but we are in power.
- 12:34We are in power, and they should do what we tell them to do.
- 12:38It starts with a mindset, but overall, unless we do rash things,
- 12:44unless we do things that are meaningful, things that are going to.
- 12:49Change how things have been done for years, because it's been done this way
- 12:53for years, the Department of Education, and this goes for all of government.
- 12:56We got to cut things so that we can rebuild them, so that we can make them great.
- 13:00I think that education in our country, there's good things about it.
- 13:06There's bad. There's good and bad in everything.
- 13:07Let's try to let's try to remove the bad and decide together wherever we're at.
- 13:13You know, not overall as a country, because people that are in different parts
- 13:17of the country, different states, that's why every state is its own like sovereign.
- 13:21There has to be that. I understand there has to be the federal government over
- 13:25everything that keeps us together.
- 13:26We don't need Texas drifting and departing from the nation.
- 13:30We don't want that. We got to keep us together. I understand that.
- 13:33But each state is its own sovereign, and it can decide how it wants its state run.
- 13:38Every state is an experiment, and let the best experiment win.
- 13:43Whatever is going right, that's why people flee certain states and go to others.
- 13:48So let's not lock everyone in and say, you have to do things, everything this way.
- 13:54Let's change it. Let's change our mind. But overall, I mean, it starts personally.
- 13:59It starts with you, how you feel about life, how you feel about your day,
- 14:03how you feel about going into everything that you're going into.
- 14:06Do you have purpose and meaning? I say, embrace being a loser.
- 14:11Embrace it. When you are a loser, you have nothing to lose, and then you can truly win.
- 14:18If we had eyes to see that everything is upside down in this world,
- 14:24and we're flipping it right side up, God's going to make everything right in the end.
- 14:29He's going to make everything right in the end. So know that you have a calling,
- 14:34you have purpose in life, and you can embrace being a loser.
- 14:38You can rise from the ashes.
- 14:39You be resurrected every day. Live the journey in your own mind and have peace and joy through it.
- 14:47Have joy through it. You go, that's the only way you're going to get joy.
- 14:50Keep going and keep evolving to the best version of you.
