  Hello friends! Welcome back to Wonderfully Made,

  Bible Stories for Children. I'm so glad you're

  here! Last time, we met David, a young shepherd
• 0:13
  boy who loved God with all his heart. God chose
• 0:17
  him to be Israel's next king, even though no
• 0:21
  one expected it. Today, we'll hear how David's
• 0:26
  faith and courage helped him face a giant. This
• 0:29
  story reminds us that when we trust God, we don't
• 0:33
  have to be the biggest or strongest, because
• 0:36
  God is with us. Let's begin! The Israelites were
• 0:53
  at war again, this time with the Philistines.
• 0:57
  Their armies camped on two hills with a wide
• 1:01
  valley between them. Every morning, a giant named
• 1:05
  Goliath stepped out from the Philistine side.
• 1:08
  He was so tall, over nine feet, and wore heavy
• 1:13
  armor that gleamed in the sunlight. His spear
• 1:17
  was enormous, as thick as a tree trunk. Goliath
• 1:21
  challenged the Israelites to send one man to
• 1:25
  fight him. He said that if the Israelite won,
• 1:28
  the Philistines would become their servants,
• 1:31
  but if he won, the Israelites would serve the
• 1:35
  Philistines instead. Day after day, he shouted
• 1:40
  this challenge, and no one dared to step forward.
• 1:44
  Even King Saul and his soldiers were afraid.
• 1:49
  Meanwhile, in Bethlehem, David was still watching
• 1:54
  his father's sheep. One day, his father Jesse
• 1:58
  asked him to take food to his brothers who were
• 2:01
  serving in Saul's army and to check how they
• 2:03
  were doing. David quickly set out on the journey
• 2:08
  and reached the battlefield just as the armies
• 2:11
  were forming their lines. He greeted his brothers
• 2:15
  and then heard Goliath's loud, frightening voice.
• 2:19
  When David saw that everyone was terrified, He
• 2:23
  asked why no one was willing to fight the giant.
• 2:27
  Some of the soldiers told him what the king had
• 2:30
  promised to anyone who could defeat Goliath.
• 2:33
  But others laughed, saying David was too young
• 2:37
  to understand. Even his oldest brother told him
• 2:41
  to go home and mind the sheep. But David explained
• 2:45
  that he had already faced danger before. He told
• 2:50
  them about the times when lions and bears had
• 2:53
  come to attack the flock, and how God had helped
• 2:56
  him protect the sheep. He said he believed that
• 3:00
  the same God would help him face the giant too.
• 3:03
  When King Saul heard about David's courage, he
• 3:07
  sent for him. Saul looked at the small shepherd
• 3:11
  boy and told him that Goliath had been a warrior
• 3:15
  since youth, while David was only a boy. But
• 3:19
  David assured him that the Lord who had rescued
• 3:22
  him from wild animals would also rescue him from
• 3:26
  the Philistine. Saul finally agreed to let him
• 3:30
  go and even offered his own armor. But when David
• 3:35
  tried it on, it was far too big and heavy. He
• 3:39
  could hardly move. So he took it off and decided
• 3:43
  to go just as he was. David went down to a stream.
• 3:49
  chose five smooth stones and placed them carefully
• 3:53
  into his pouch. With his shepherd's sling in
• 3:57
  hand, he stepped forward to meet Goliath. When
• 4:01
  Goliath saw David coming, he laughed and mocked
• 4:05
  him, saying it was ridiculous for a boy with
• 4:08
  a stick to face a mighty warrior. But David told
• 4:12
  him that while the giant came with sword and
• 4:16
  spear, he came in the name of the Lord Almighty,
• 4:19
  and that everyone would soon see that victory
• 4:23
  belonged to God. David then ran toward the giant,
• 4:27
  swung his sling, and sent one stone flying through
• 4:31
  the air. The stone struck Goliath right on the
• 4:38
  forehead, and the giant fell face down on the
• 4:42
  ground. The Philistines were shocked. and the
• 4:45
  Israelites shouted for joy. They chased the enemy
• 4:49
  away, and Israel won the victory that day. Everyone
• 4:55
  saw that the victory did not come from size,
• 4:58
  weapons, or strength, but from trusting in God.

  What an incredible story! David wasn't the biggest
• 5:13
  or strongest, but he trusted god completely let's
• 5:18
  think about this together have you ever faced

  something that felt too big or scary for you
• 5:26
  what can you do when you feel afraid david remembered
• 5:37
  how god had helped him before and that gave him
• 5:40
  courage to trust again remember God is always
• 5:45
  bigger than our fears. He can use even small
• 5:49
  and ordinary people to do great things when they
• 5:52
