- 0:00Hello friends! Welcome back to Wonderfully Made,
- 0:04Bible Stories for Children. I'm so glad you're
- 0:08here! Last time, we met David, a young shepherd
- 0:13boy who loved God with all his heart. God chose
- 0:17him to be Israel's next king, even though no
- 0:21one expected it. Today, we'll hear how David's
- 0:26faith and courage helped him face a giant. This
- 0:29story reminds us that when we trust God, we don't
- 0:33have to be the biggest or strongest, because
- 0:36God is with us. Let's begin! The Israelites were
- 0:53at war again, this time with the Philistines.
- 0:57Their armies camped on two hills with a wide
- 1:01valley between them. Every morning, a giant named
- 1:05Goliath stepped out from the Philistine side.
- 1:08He was so tall, over nine feet, and wore heavy
- 1:13armor that gleamed in the sunlight. His spear
- 1:17was enormous, as thick as a tree trunk. Goliath
- 1:21challenged the Israelites to send one man to
- 1:25fight him. He said that if the Israelite won,
- 1:28the Philistines would become their servants,
- 1:31but if he won, the Israelites would serve the
- 1:35Philistines instead. Day after day, he shouted
- 1:40this challenge, and no one dared to step forward.
- 1:44Even King Saul and his soldiers were afraid.
- 1:49Meanwhile, in Bethlehem, David was still watching
- 1:54his father's sheep. One day, his father Jesse
- 1:58asked him to take food to his brothers who were
- 2:01serving in Saul's army and to check how they
- 2:03were doing. David quickly set out on the journey
- 2:08and reached the battlefield just as the armies
- 2:11were forming their lines. He greeted his brothers
- 2:15and then heard Goliath's loud, frightening voice.
- 2:19When David saw that everyone was terrified, He
- 2:23asked why no one was willing to fight the giant.
- 2:27Some of the soldiers told him what the king had
- 2:30promised to anyone who could defeat Goliath.
- 2:33But others laughed, saying David was too young
- 2:37to understand. Even his oldest brother told him
- 2:41to go home and mind the sheep. But David explained
- 2:45that he had already faced danger before. He told
- 2:50them about the times when lions and bears had
- 2:53come to attack the flock, and how God had helped
- 2:56him protect the sheep. He said he believed that
- 3:00the same God would help him face the giant too.
- 3:03When King Saul heard about David's courage, he
- 3:07sent for him. Saul looked at the small shepherd
- 3:11boy and told him that Goliath had been a warrior
- 3:15since youth, while David was only a boy. But
- 3:19David assured him that the Lord who had rescued
- 3:22him from wild animals would also rescue him from
- 3:26the Philistine. Saul finally agreed to let him
- 3:30go and even offered his own armor. But when David
- 3:35tried it on, it was far too big and heavy. He
- 3:39could hardly move. So he took it off and decided
- 3:43to go just as he was. David went down to a stream.
- 3:49chose five smooth stones and placed them carefully
- 3:53into his pouch. With his shepherd's sling in
- 3:57hand, he stepped forward to meet Goliath. When
- 4:01Goliath saw David coming, he laughed and mocked
- 4:05him, saying it was ridiculous for a boy with
- 4:08a stick to face a mighty warrior. But David told
- 4:12him that while the giant came with sword and
- 4:16spear, he came in the name of the Lord Almighty,
- 4:19and that everyone would soon see that victory
- 4:23belonged to God. David then ran toward the giant,
- 4:27swung his sling, and sent one stone flying through
- 4:31the air. The stone struck Goliath right on the
- 4:38forehead, and the giant fell face down on the
- 4:42ground. The Philistines were shocked. and the
- 4:45Israelites shouted for joy. They chased the enemy
- 4:49away, and Israel won the victory that day. Everyone
- 4:55saw that the victory did not come from size,
- 4:58weapons, or strength, but from trusting in God.
- 5:08What an incredible story! David wasn't the biggest
- 5:13or strongest, but he trusted god completely let's
- 5:18think about this together have you ever faced
- 5:23something that felt too big or scary for you
- 5:26what can you do when you feel afraid david remembered
- 5:37how god had helped him before and that gave him
- 5:40courage to trust again remember God is always
- 5:45bigger than our fears. He can use even small
- 5:49and ordinary people to do great things when they
- 5:52trust him. Thank you for joining me today to
- 5:56hear how David faced the giant Goliath with courage
- 6:00and faith. Next time, we'll see what happens
- 6:04when King Saul becomes jealous of David. How
- 6:08will David respond when someone tries to harm
- 6:11him? You'll find out in our next episode. Until
