- 1:08SPEAKER_00: Um they have they have moved up to they are ranked fourth in the state.
- 1:12SPEAKER_00: So um top 100 in the nation.
- 1:14SPEAKER_00: So they are they are playing, they're playing fantastic.
- 1:17SPEAKER_00: Um my daughter went off last week.
- 1:20SPEAKER_00: It was I was like so proud.
- 1:21SPEAKER_00: Such a proud dad.
- 1:21SPEAKER_00: I'm not allowed to get into it a lot, but let's just say that I was very, very proud.
- 1:26SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 1:27SPEAKER_00: Uh they had a big win against a league opponent and put themselves in a good spot.
- 1:32SPEAKER_00: Um the baseball yesterday was the baseball yesterday got tough to watch at the end, but it was a learning situation.
- 1:39SPEAKER_00: We learned a lot.
- 1:40SPEAKER_02: You know, there's there's winning games and then there's learning games.
- 1:42SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:42SPEAKER_02: Sometimes they're the same, but mostly they're pretty separate.
- 1:45SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 1:46SPEAKER_00: So we had to we had to Incline Village this weekend for baseball, and my daughter will be in Vegas for volleyball.
- 1:52SPEAKER_00: So this will be like her first kind of big road trip without mom and dad.
- 1:57SPEAKER_02: So that's fun.
- 1:58SPEAKER_02: You know, no better place than Vegas to get your feet wet.
- 2:01SPEAKER_00: Oh, well, they're under yeah, they're under supervision.
- 2:03SPEAKER_02: I well, I mean, you could be under supervision, but you're still in Vegas.
- 2:06SPEAKER_02: I hope they go to Fremont Street.
- 2:08SPEAKER_02: They're not downtown.
- 2:08SPEAKER_00: It's outscared.
- 2:09SPEAKER_02: Oh, come on.
- 2:10SPEAKER_02: Well, you never know.
- 2:11SPEAKER_02: Trust me.
- 2:11SPEAKER_02: What daddy don't know, you know.
- 2:13SPEAKER_00: Her mother or I would be there if we were if we were concerned.
- 2:16SPEAKER_00: We've been twice already, so it's a fantastic tournament.
- 2:19SPEAKER_00: We're looking forward to.
- 2:20SPEAKER_00: We're gonna watch on Facebook live.
- 2:21SPEAKER_00: Oh, good.
- 2:22SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 2:22SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 2:22SPEAKER_00: Uh all right.
- 2:23SPEAKER_00: But your story is so much better than my stupid shit.
- 2:28SPEAKER_02: I don't know about better.
- 2:29SPEAKER_02: I don't know if we can't.
- 2:29SPEAKER_02: Oh no, it's better.
- 2:30SPEAKER_02: It's juicier.
- 2:31SPEAKER_02: It's certainly juicier.
- 2:33SPEAKER_00: Look, it may be less enjoyable for you, but it was it was an audience.
- 2:38SPEAKER_02: It was meant, it was, it was an adventure.
- 2:41SPEAKER_02: It was an adventure.
- 2:42SPEAKER_02: We took my son, he was 16 months camping for the first time with four of our friends and their families.
- 2:49SPEAKER_02: There were eight children under five.
- 2:51SPEAKER_02: And a friend of ours had gone to this spot previously in April.
- 2:55SPEAKER_02: It's on the north like tip of Folsom Lake and Pilot Hill.
- 2:58SPEAKER_02: And I should have known.
- 3:00SPEAKER_02: We all knew.
- 3:00SPEAKER_02: We all should have known better.
- 3:02SPEAKER_02: But if Pilot Hill comes into the conversation, Folsom Lake in April is not Folsom Lake in September.
- 3:10SPEAKER_02: It was a barren dust bowl of pokies and ouchies.
- 3:13SPEAKER_02: There's no running water.
- 3:14SPEAKER_02: The water level is a hundred feet lower.
- 3:15SPEAKER_02: Like everything about it was just a challenge.
- 3:18SPEAKER_02: And I was trying to put on my best face.
- 3:22SPEAKER_00: I like the professional terminology of pokies and ouchies.
- 3:27SPEAKER_02: Thank you.
- 3:28SPEAKER_02: Sorry, I'm still getting back to my adult vernacular after being around children for so long.
- 3:33SPEAKER_02: But no, I was actually only there the shortest amount of time.
- 3:36SPEAKER_02: And thank God I had a really good excuse of work to leave because the one full day I was there Friday was just one battle after another.
- 3:44SPEAKER_02: It was like the the universe was challenging my ability to just stay positive.
- 3:49SPEAKER_02: And I lost at the point that my feet were covered in leeches.
- 3:53SPEAKER_02: That that was the final stretch.
- 3:55SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 3:56SPEAKER_00: It's getting giving me standby me right now.
- 4:11SPEAKER_02: I think that was me telling myself, like, don't freak out.
- 4:14SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 4:14SPEAKER_02: But my feet are covered in leeches right now.
- 4:16unknown: Yeah.
- 4:17SPEAKER_02: And and then we quickly ended that part of the trip.
- 4:20SPEAKER_02: And I was like, I'm going back to camp and I am drinking all of the rest of the vodka by myself.
- 4:27SPEAKER_02: Well, I mean, you you didn't find a dead body, which is one could argue there were several dead bodies of leeches after I was done with them.
- 4:37SPEAKER_02: But no, yes, we didn't find a dead body.
- 4:39SPEAKER_02: Thank God for that.
- 4:40SPEAKER_01: Not a human dead body.
- 4:41SPEAKER_02: We can find that.
- 4:42SPEAKER_02: No, there was no dead bodies on some positive humans.
- 4:45SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 4:46SPEAKER_01: Well, the vodka really thickens your blood to a piece of me.
- 4:50SPEAKER_00: And I did share with you, I do think that those stories like that, the further away you get from them and the actual feelings, one could argue that the easier it will be to laugh at a year from now.
- 5:00SPEAKER_02: Well, sure, sure, sure, sure, sure.
- 5:01SPEAKER_00: You're probably pretty bothered that I'm taking such joy in this in the world.
- 5:05SPEAKER_02: I can see that you're really not writhing in awkwardness and uncomfortability like I was.
- 5:11SPEAKER_00: Good for Dan.
- 5:12SPEAKER_00: He was able to laugh mostly in the moment.
- 5:15SPEAKER_02: I'm glad to bring you such entertainment.
- 5:17SPEAKER_02: One could argue a piece of meat did die on that paddleboard.
- 5:20SPEAKER_02: Like I did leave a piece of myself there that I Hey, when one door closes, another one opens.
- 5:25SPEAKER_00: Hey, you didn't need that piece.
- 5:26SPEAKER_00: I did not need that.
- 5:27SPEAKER_00: The leeches tucked.
- 5:28SPEAKER_02: The leeches just sucked it out of me.
- 5:30SPEAKER_02: They changed your hands.
- 5:31SPEAKER_02: And I left it at that place on the paddleboard.
- 5:34SPEAKER_02: Anyway, so that's my story.
- 5:35SPEAKER_02: I told you I could shorten it, but the leeches.
- 5:38SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 5:38SPEAKER_00: Well, that that's a that's a lot.
- 5:40SPEAKER_00: That's one of the longer intros that you and I have ever.
- 5:42SPEAKER_02: Sorry, not sorry.
- 5:43SPEAKER_02: I needed to get that off my chest.
- 5:44SPEAKER_00: Hey, it was happy.
- 5:45SPEAKER_00: In a pod fodder environment.
- 5:49SPEAKER_02: You know, the more that I share it, the less power it has over me.
- 5:53SPEAKER_00: Our guest today is one of the first people I met when I transitioned over to the commercial side of the real estate world.
- 6:01SPEAKER_00: And uh she's just been incredible.
- 6:03SPEAKER_00: She's got a great story.
- 6:04SPEAKER_00: Um, she does some really cool things.
- 6:06SPEAKER_00: And with that said, we're gonna jump in.
- 6:08SPEAKER_00: Player in coach.
- 6:09SPEAKER_00: Play Dre in.
- 6:12SPEAKER_00: And here we go.
- 6:15SPEAKER_00: So we're only allowed to play 23 seconds of the song.
- 6:18SPEAKER_02: Come on, let's go.
- 6:26SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 6:28SPEAKER_00: I didn't have the heart to tell her that we don't play 23 seconds for anybody.
- 6:32SPEAKER_00: So Dre.
- 6:36SPEAKER_02: Thanks.
- 6:36SPEAKER_02: Welcome.
- 6:37SPEAKER_02: Thank you.
- 6:37SPEAKER_00: Dre Cifers, everybody.
- 6:40SPEAKER_02: Hello, hello.
- 6:41SPEAKER_00: The queen of the Mayor's Cup Golf Tournament.
- 6:43SPEAKER_00: I was gonna say, I'm gonna leave you to do all the first time, first time podcaster.
- 6:48SPEAKER_00: Pretty excited.
- 6:48SPEAKER_00: We're we're excited to have you here.
- 6:50SPEAKER_00: I when I told when I told Kaylee kind of just the the the 30,000-foot version of your story, she was like, Yeah, let's let's let's get her on for sure.
- 6:59SPEAKER_00: So so with that said, so let's let's talk about why why can't hold us?
- 7:04SPEAKER_00: What why why did why is that your lockup song?
- 7:06SPEAKER_01: That's a great question.
- 7:07SPEAKER_01: I don't really know, other than I think it was popular when Nate and I got married, and it was literally the song that I was listening to, well, the 23 seconds that I was listening to before I got married.
- 7:18SPEAKER_01: Okay, and he like right before you walked down the aisle.
- 7:21SPEAKER_01: Well, like, so we got married on the beach at like 10 a.m.
- 7:26SPEAKER_01: on a Friday.
- 7:27SPEAKER_01: Oh because I was like, I want to be 100% done with everything by noon.
- 7:31SPEAKER_01: Like we're on the beach, everybody has their own weekend.
- 7:34SPEAKER_01: We got married in Orange County where I was living at the time.
- 7:36SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 7:36SPEAKER_01: And so, um, all 22 of us.
- 7:39SPEAKER_01: And um I don't know.
- 7:41SPEAKER_01: It just, I was two of my nieces, my oldest niece Tyle, and then my second niece, Tegan, were staying with me, and my other two nieces um stayed with their parents.
- 7:53SPEAKER_01: And I don't know, I was just getting ready, listening to that on repeat.
- 7:58SPEAKER_01: 23 seconds, like I can do this.
- 8:00SPEAKER_01: I got this.
- 8:00SPEAKER_01: I love it.
- 8:01SPEAKER_01: She gets to the 23-second march and then like restart.
- 8:03SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 8:04SPEAKER_03: Yeah, the loop.
- 8:05SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 8:07SPEAKER_02: And I bet you marched right down that aisle to I mean, if you want to call it an aisle, yeah.
- 8:12SPEAKER_02: Metaphorically.
- 8:12SPEAKER_01: Down the stairs.
- 8:13SPEAKER_01: Down the, yeah.
- 8:14SPEAKER_01: Whatever it is.
- 8:15SPEAKER_01: To the sand.
- 8:15SPEAKER_01: That's beautiful.
- 8:16SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 8:16SPEAKER_01: I love that.
- 8:17SPEAKER_01: But Nada was always curious as to why do you need a pump-up sunk to get married?
- 8:20SPEAKER_01: And I was like, same reason why you had to go take a cold dip in the ocean.
- 8:24SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 8:25SPEAKER_02: And you should have a pump-up song for everything.
- 8:28SPEAKER_02: So every time I had to go.
- 8:29SPEAKER_00: My wife made me stand on the altar for like 45 minutes while she sat in the car because it was part of their culture to be late.
- 8:35SPEAKER_02: You know what?
- 8:36SPEAKER_02: I respect that.
- 8:37SPEAKER_00: I mean in a Brazilian.
- 8:39SPEAKER_02: Wait for a good thing.
- 8:40SPEAKER_02: I was about to say where nobody spoke English.
- 8:42SPEAKER_00: Oh, obviously.
- 8:44SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 8:45SPEAKER_00: Metaphorically sweating.
- 8:46SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 8:47SPEAKER_00: Big time.
- 8:48SPEAKER_02: Dang.
- 8:48SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 8:49SPEAKER_02: I honestly I want to give Maureen props for that.
- 8:51SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 8:52SPEAKER_00: Don't do it.
- 8:54SPEAKER_03: Too bad.
- 8:55SPEAKER_00: I mean, it is just this constant battle of okay, it takes an hour and 37 minutes to get there, so we're gonna leave an hour and 38 minutes early.
- 9:02SPEAKER_02: You know what I love about their culture is that showing up on time or early is actually offensive.
- 9:07SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 9:07SPEAKER_02: Don't don't do it.
- 9:09SPEAKER_00: It gives me massive anxiety, but you know, 20 years later, here we are.
- 9:14SPEAKER_00: It's great so far.
- 9:15SPEAKER_02: Okay, so your pump-up song, Got You Down the Isle.
- 9:18SPEAKER_02: And it do you still use it today all the time?
- 9:21SPEAKER_01: Not no.
- 9:22SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 9:23SPEAKER_01: Only when asked.
- 9:24SPEAKER_01: Like, what's a good song?
- 9:25SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, I don't know.
- 9:26SPEAKER_01: Then that always floods back to my memory by my our daughter, Dagan, she's six.
- 9:30SPEAKER_01: She calls it the marriage song.
- 9:32SPEAKER_01: So she wanted to know what Nate and I never had a we didn't have a formal reception.
- 9:37SPEAKER_01: We had a reception up in Napa a month later with like 300 people.
- 9:40SPEAKER_01: Um, and we never had a first dance per se.
- 9:44SPEAKER_01: We never had a last dance, we never had a dance.
- 9:46SPEAKER_01: And so Dagan was asking me, she's like, Well, what's your and daddy's dance?
- 9:50SPEAKER_01: And I was like, none, but this is what I listened to before I got married.
- 9:53SPEAKER_01: So she's like, Okay, the marriage song.
- 9:55SPEAKER_01: So anyhow, I think keeps it in.
- 9:57SPEAKER_00: Very, very cool.
- 9:58SPEAKER_00: Well, we've kind of so we've kind of we've kind of talked about that.
- 10:02SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 10:02SPEAKER_00: Glazed over it a little bit.
- 10:04SPEAKER_00: So so so you are a widow?
- 10:05SPEAKER_01: I am a widow.
- 10:06SPEAKER_00: So so talk to us a little bit about that.
- 10:09SPEAKER_00: And and because it happened quickly after the marriage, if I'm not mistaken.
- 10:14SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 10:14SPEAKER_01: So well, yes and no.
- 10:15SPEAKER_01: So I we have a long I moved to Sacramento in 2008 after my oldest.
- 10:22SPEAKER_01: So I have I'm one of three.
- 10:24SPEAKER_01: So we're all girls in my family except for one nephew.
- 10:27SPEAKER_01: And so I have an oldest sister, Vanessa, then my technically middle sister, even though she's older, um, she is still here summer, and then she has four daughters.
- 10:38SPEAKER_01: My oldest sister had one nephew, but my oldest sister Vanessa passed away when I was 20 and in college.
- 10:44SPEAKER_01: So the whole reason why I moved back into Sacramento and got into real estate is because of my sister and I just wanted to be closer to Summer.
- 10:55SPEAKER_01: Um, I missed Vanessa.
- 10:57SPEAKER_01: She, you know, we all have our strengths and weaknesses, but I don't know.
- 11:01SPEAKER_01: I just wanted to be close to my sister and fast forward.
- 11:03SPEAKER_01: That's kind of how I got into real estate.
- 11:05SPEAKER_01: I was able to work at uh with Summer at SMI Commercial Management, and that's how I came back to Sacramento.
- 11:14SPEAKER_00: Yeah, here you are.
- 11:15SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 11:16SPEAKER_00: And that and that was where you and Nate met.
- 11:18SPEAKER_01: So Nate and I met because of another influential person in my life, my brother-in-law, Tim.
- 11:24SPEAKER_01: Um he had just had their first daughter, Tegan, who's six years older than Summer's oldest daughter, Tylie.
- 11:33SPEAKER_01: They're all T's, so they'll be able to do that.
- 11:36SPEAKER_02: Which I appreciate.
- 11:37SPEAKER_01: Yes, Tylie, Tegan, Talas, Tinley, and Degan.
- 11:40SPEAKER_01: And then my nephew Zach.
- 11:41SPEAKER_01: So there's like one normal name.
- 11:43SPEAKER_01: And then there's Zach.
- 11:44SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 11:44SPEAKER_02: And the only guy.
- 11:45SPEAKER_01: And the only boy.
- 11:47SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 11:48SPEAKER_00: That's perfect.
- 11:48SPEAKER_01: Right?
- 11:49SPEAKER_01: So Tegan was just born, and traditionally, I think they still kind of have it, but it's not, you know, the olden days are so much better.
- 11:56SPEAKER_01: But they used to have this really intense pub crawl, broker pub crawl.
- 12:00SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 12:01SPEAKER_01: And back in the day, this is like 2008, um, there was no Uber.
- 12:06SPEAKER_01: So my brother-in-law called my sister and said, Hey, I'm ready to be picked up, come get me.
- 12:11SPEAKER_01: And I was just hanging out with my sister and my newborn baby, you know, baby niece and having a great time thinking, okay, great.
- 12:17SPEAKER_01: This welcome to Sacramento.
- 12:18SPEAKER_01: And my sister looks at me and goes, Go get your brother-in-law.
- 12:22SPEAKER_01: And I was like, What do you mean?
- 12:23SPEAKER_01: Go get my brother.
- 12:25SPEAKER_01: Well, no thanks.
- 12:26SPEAKER_01: So that's how I what was the question?
- 12:30SPEAKER_01: Met Nate.
- 12:31SPEAKER_03: How you met Nate?
- 12:33SPEAKER_01: So I go to get my brother-in-law, and I'm at the bar.
- 12:38SPEAKER_01: Actually, no, I go to get my brother-in-law, and all of a sudden he's not ready to leave.
- 12:41SPEAKER_01: So I'm walking into the bar with him.
- 12:42SPEAKER_01: I know nobody.
- 12:43SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 12:43SPEAKER_01: Standard.
- 12:44SPEAKER_01: And so he leaves me, and I'm in a room full of brokers, and I'm like, don't know anybody.
- 12:50SPEAKER_01: I'm like 22, not confident, whatever.
- 12:54SPEAKER_01: And so he go, he kind of says, you know, go to the bar, you'll be tabs open.
- 12:59SPEAKER_01: You'll be just fine.
- 12:59SPEAKER_01: You'll be fine.
- 13:00SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 13:00SPEAKER_01: And so I'm like, okay, fine.
- 13:01SPEAKER_01: So I sit at the bar and I get a cocktail.
- 13:04SPEAKER_01: And then up walks like the Brad Pitt of Sacramento.
- 13:07SPEAKER_01: And I was like, oh.
- 13:09unknown: Hi.
- 13:11SPEAKER_01: Welcome.
- 13:11SPEAKER_01: Welcome to Sacramento.
- 13:12SPEAKER_01: Location, location, right?
- 13:14SPEAKER_01: And like, this could be cool.
- 13:15SPEAKER_01: He's like, Are you with these group of people?
- 13:16SPEAKER_01: I go, well, technically, yes.
- 13:18SPEAKER_01: I don't know any of them.
- 13:18SPEAKER_01: I'm like new to the industry, but my brother-in-law needed to be hiccupicked.
- 13:21SPEAKER_01: You know, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
- 13:23SPEAKER_01: Um, it's not Nate, by the way.
- 13:25SPEAKER_01: Oh, okay.
- 13:25SPEAKER_01: So I'm like, okay, and he's not a part of this.
- 13:28SPEAKER_01: And um, I start talking to him, and then a couple minutes later, my brother-in-law walks up with his friend Nate Cipers.
- 13:35SPEAKER_01: And Tim goes, uh, this is your neighbor, and he's a friend, and like he works at CB, and like, here you go.
- 13:42SPEAKER_01: Like, here's meet him.
- 13:44SPEAKER_01: And so we started talking, and I was not a fan.
- 13:46SPEAKER_01: He did not know how to say my name.
- 13:48SPEAKER_01: He was schnaucked, they've been drinking since 8 a.m.
- 13:50SPEAKER_01: Like, nothing lined up.
- 13:52SPEAKER_01: But I was like, okay, well, if you're a friend of my brother-in-law, it's like you have to be a good person.
- 13:58SPEAKER_01: Right, right.
- 13:59SPEAKER_01: So that's how I met him.
- 14:00SPEAKER_01: And then he got my number.
- 14:02SPEAKER_01: He says I gave it to him, but I'm also, I think I'm the only sober one in this story.
- 14:07SPEAKER_01: So I don't remember giving it, but we'll give him the credit that I gave it to him.
- 14:12SPEAKER_01: And he called me, I think, a couple days later.
- 14:14SPEAKER_01: I forgot to call him back until like two days or probably two weeks later.
- 14:19SPEAKER_01: And then, you know, we played like this phone tag thing, and then we're gonna go to the city.
- 14:22SPEAKER_00: Age gap or similar in age?
- 14:23SPEAKER_01: Oh no, he's 14 years older.
- 14:25SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 14:25SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 14:25SPEAKER_01: So you're Yeah, so he's technically older than my sister and my brother-in-law.
- 14:29SPEAKER_00: Wow.
- 14:29SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 14:30SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 14:31unknown: I know.
- 14:31SPEAKER_02: He roped you in there.
- 14:32SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 14:33SPEAKER_01: I like old people.
- 14:34SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 14:36SPEAKER_01: We'll go with university.
- 14:38SPEAKER_01: Yeah, right.
- 14:38SPEAKER_01: I know.
- 14:39SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 14:39SPEAKER_01: So that's how I met Nate.
- 14:41SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 14:42SPEAKER_01: Very long story.
- 14:43SPEAKER_00: We love long stories.
- 14:45SPEAKER_00: You're on a podcast.
- 14:46SPEAKER_00: We're made for long stories here, I know.
- 14:48SPEAKER_00: We're here to talk today.
- 14:49SPEAKER_00: So um, okay.
- 14:51SPEAKER_00: So you're you're 22 years old, you meet your future husband, you're just kind of dipping your toes into the water of commercial real estate.
- 14:59SPEAKER_00: And so what are you so what are you doing?
- 15:01SPEAKER_00: What are you doing in that space?
- 15:02SPEAKER_00: There's so many avenues.
- 15:04SPEAKER_01: I was a total admin for a property management company.
- 15:06SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 15:07SPEAKER_01: So third party, we did mostly retail, um, a bit of office, industrial, and then I think we had like one piece of land, which I have now learned that I would like to manage land for the rest of my life, but randomly nobody needs you to manage land for the rest of your life because you don't need really so most people who have land can do it themselves.
- 15:29SPEAKER_01: But it's really a delightful thing to manage.
- 15:32SPEAKER_00: To be able to be able to cash a check.
- 15:34SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 15:36SPEAKER_02: Yeah, right.
- 15:36SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 15:36SPEAKER_02: So are you still in the management side of the city?
- 15:39SPEAKER_02: I am a producer, okay.
- 15:40SPEAKER_02: Correct.
- 15:40SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 15:41SPEAKER_01: So I have it's it's I've been blessed in that it's taken me all over.
- 15:47SPEAKER_01: It took me to Orange County, which I probably should have stayed, but I love Nate, so I moved back to Sacramento.
- 15:52SPEAKER_01: Um and now I am in the process of starting my own company.
- 15:57SPEAKER_02: So congratulations.
- 15:59SPEAKER_02: Thanks.
- 16:00SPEAKER_02: How has that roller coaster been going for you?
- 16:02SPEAKER_01: Nerve-wracking.
- 16:03SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 16:03SPEAKER_01: Very terrifying.
- 16:04SPEAKER_01: I have, you know.
- 16:05SPEAKER_01: That means you're on par.
- 16:06SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 16:06SPEAKER_01: I'm good.
- 16:07SPEAKER_01: Good point.
- 16:08SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 16:09SPEAKER_01: So obviously, or I shouldn't say obviously, Nate is no longer here.
- 16:12SPEAKER_01: He um sort of go back to the original.
- 16:15SPEAKER_01: So Nate and I met in like 2008.
- 16:17SPEAKER_01: We didn't date.
- 16:18SPEAKER_01: He says we did.
- 16:21SPEAKER_01: We'll see.
- 16:22SPEAKER_01: It's my, you know, again.
- 16:24SPEAKER_00: He's not exactly here to defend the story.
- 16:26SPEAKER_01: So well, it goes with me.
- 16:27SPEAKER_01: So sorry, buddy.
- 16:28SPEAKER_01: But um, I say we started dating when I moved to Orange County in 2012.
- 16:32SPEAKER_01: We got married in 2015.
- 16:33SPEAKER_01: I moved back to Sacramento basically December of 2018.
- 16:37SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 16:37SPEAKER_01: So we did a lot of gaps.
- 16:39SPEAKER_01: So fast forward, um October of 2020, October of 2022.
- 16:50SPEAKER_01: Sorry, I had to think about how old everybody was.
- 16:52SPEAKER_01: Um I Nate had not been able to get out of bed basically for that entire year.
- 16:59SPEAKER_01: And it was causing strain on our marriage.
- 17:02SPEAKER_01: We had a little baby, and I did not sign up to be an only parent.
- 17:06SPEAKER_01: And you know, and he couldn't, and my background is kinesiology.
- 17:10SPEAKER_01: And so I'm talking to like physical therapy friends and you know, anybody and everybody, and everybody, it everything is pointing to sciatica.
- 17:19SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, just do your sciatic, like get out of bed, do your stretches, do your exercises.
- 17:25SPEAKER_01: It's gonna hurt, but it'll get better.
- 17:27SPEAKER_01: Just do it.
- 17:28SPEAKER_01: He couldn't get it.
- 17:29SPEAKER_01: Like it just, it was never getting any better.
- 17:32SPEAKER_01: It was getting worse by the minute.
- 17:34SPEAKER_01: And he, our um PCP, our primary care physician, basically didn't want to give him an MRI.
- 17:42SPEAKER_01: So we waited for months for Nate to get an MRI.
- 17:45SPEAKER_01: And finally I pulled a personal favor and I said, I'm gonna divorce this man.
- 17:50SPEAKER_01: Kidding, but like, I'm gonna divorce this man if you don't get him the MRI.
- 17:54SPEAKER_01: He just needs an MRI to prove that it's sciatica so that he can get his brain wrapped around or whatever we need to do.
- 17:59SPEAKER_01: So we get the MRI literally at 7 a.m.
- 18:02SPEAKER_01: the next day after I made that phone call.
- 18:04SPEAKER_01: So Nate's feeling a lot better because at least he's on the road to like somebody will give me an answer.
- 18:09SPEAKER_01: Maybe there's yeah, there's a tear in something or whatever it is.
- 18:12SPEAKER_01: I'm still thinking, like, what's just sciatica?
- 18:14SPEAKER_01: Like, move along, buddy.
- 18:15SPEAKER_01: But okay, glad you're feeling better.
- 18:17SPEAKER_01: And at noon, I get a call from the physician who is a friend of the families.
- 18:24SPEAKER_01: And he goes, Hey Dre, um, is Nate with you?
- 18:28SPEAKER_01: I go, no, because I thought he'd just say, Hey, it's gonna, you know, it's gonna be 24, 48 hours before you get diagnosed.
- 18:34SPEAKER_01: Don't worry about it, everything will be fine.
- 18:36SPEAKER_01: I go, no, he just fell asleep.
- 18:37SPEAKER_01: I go, can you answer?
- 18:38SPEAKER_01: Can I answer something?
- 18:40SPEAKER_01: He goes, No, I need I need you to wake Nate up.
- 18:43SPEAKER_01: So I go into the guest room where Nate has shunned himself because he that he safe space.
- 18:50SPEAKER_01: And I go, hey Nate, I need you would need to wake up.
- 18:52SPEAKER_01: Um, doctor's on the phone.
- 18:54SPEAKER_01: And he said, Hey, I got initial uh read on your MRI.
- 19:01SPEAKER_01: You need to go to the hood right now.
- 19:04SPEAKER_01: And we never left.
- 19:05SPEAKER_01: So what had happened is he had lung cancer that had um metastasized to his entire body.
- 19:11SPEAKER_01: And the reason why he was citing like sciatica is because it had eaten through his hip bone and his spine.
- 19:18SPEAKER_01: So he had the tiger wood surgery.
- 19:20SPEAKER_01: So he had a bar put in his spine and or rod put in his spine, and then kind of patched up his hip, but we couldn't start any treatment for like six weeks because our treatment heal from surgery.
- 19:33SPEAKER_01: Correct.
- 19:34SPEAKER_01: So he didn't start chemo, radiation, um, immunotherapies until January of 23.
- 19:43SPEAKER_01: And then when we did get the official diagnosis, he was the hope was two years.
- 19:50SPEAKER_01: But Nate being Nate that he is, and you guys don't know him, but he you've been to the tournament, like the love that everybody has that he would give to everybody, like he was really awesome.
- 20:06SPEAKER_01: He just like he couldn't take no.
- 20:08SPEAKER_01: No was not an answer unless he was saying no.
- 20:11SPEAKER_01: He said no a lot, but but he would not take it.
- 20:14SPEAKER_01: So he was like, I got this, like stage four lung cancer, no problem.
- 20:18SPEAKER_01: We'll be fine.
- 20:19SPEAKER_01: And unfortunately, it took him 20 months, but he almost got to two years, but 20 months later from his diagnosis in October of 22, he passed away July 13th, 24.
- 20:31SPEAKER_01: Brutal.
- 20:32SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 20:32SPEAKER_01: Brutal.
- 20:33SPEAKER_01: So four-year-old daughter at the time.
- 20:36SPEAKER_00: But yeah.
- 20:37SPEAKER_00: You can only imagine.
- 20:38SPEAKER_00: Only imagine.
- 20:39SPEAKER_00: And and and and and such at such a young age and and really probably not the ability to comprehend and 120.
- 20:49SPEAKER_00: Oh god.
- 20:49SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I will I 82 is my number.
- 20:53SPEAKER_01: 23 was mine.
- 20:54SPEAKER_01: So I'm past my expectation.
- 20:56SPEAKER_01: I'm like every day is a kid at this point.
- 20:59SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 20:59SPEAKER_02: So and then tell me about the the Mayor's Cup?
- 21:03SPEAKER_02: Yeah, the inception idea behind that.
- 21:05SPEAKER_01: Nate was a big philanthropist throughout his entire sorry, I don't might be.
- 21:10SPEAKER_01: Please feel free to take some water.
- 21:12SPEAKER_01: Um but he he was a big philanthropist.
- 21:15SPEAKER_01: So when I met him, he was on the board of like Hope Productions, which was basically kind of the same thing that I'm doing.
- 21:22SPEAKER_01: Like they raise money for all these little foundations that can't do it themselves.
- 21:25SPEAKER_01: And then he most notably, he was on um for Sacramento Ballet, he was on the Crocker Museum, he was all over the board.
- 21:32SPEAKER_01: But most notably he made a major mark with um Make a Wish.
- 21:36SPEAKER_01: So he and um a couple other council members, um, John Jackson and then um Dave Cregan, they started this backroom poker tournament that in Nate's tenure they raised over two million dollars.
- 21:54SPEAKER_01: Wow.
- 21:54SPEAKER_01: So a small number.
- 21:56SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 21:57SPEAKER_01: So he's very I mean, he's he's love Kriegan, love Jackson, but I and I think they would back me on this.
- 22:05SPEAKER_01: Like Nate was the face of most of that because he would just go around town saying, hey, come, come, come.
- 22:10SPEAKER_01: So um he retired from Make a Wish and then got on the board with Big Brothers, Big Sisters basically the year before he got diagnosed.
- 22:19SPEAKER_01: But with that being said, I have a great story with the Big Brothers because the first year he was on the board, my dream was always to go to Africa.
- 22:26SPEAKER_01: I've been dreaming for ever since I can remember.
- 22:30SPEAKER_01: And we are at their well, at the time, their first um gala that we're a part of because Nate's on the board.
- 22:37SPEAKER_01: I'm sure they've had thousands before.
- 22:39SPEAKER_01: But we um the last prize to be auctioned off was a trip to Africa.
- 22:47SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, hey, like you get it.
- 22:50SPEAKER_01: Come on.
- 22:52SPEAKER_01: Like, come on.
- 22:53SPEAKER_00: Get your ass in the fight, buddy.
- 22:56SPEAKER_01: Then it got to a point where I was like, okay, I get why you're not bidding anymore.
- 23:02SPEAKER_01: So the person next to us wins.
- 23:04SPEAKER_01: And um the auctioneer comes back and he's like, hey, by the way, we can we can do another one if you want.
- 23:10SPEAKER_01: And Nate kind of stumbled and he looks at me, and I'm like, don't look at me because I would pay twice what we decided to quit on.
- 23:18SPEAKER_01: So I'm out of the game.
- 23:19SPEAKER_01: This is that's an emotional purchase for me.
- 23:21SPEAKER_01: You don't want you don't want me spending that money.
- 23:24SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 23:24SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 23:24SPEAKER_01: And I call him my son.
- 23:26SPEAKER_01: He's not biologically related to me at all, but he's just a part of our family.
- 23:31SPEAKER_01: Nate adopted him again, not legally, but by via friend.
- 23:37SPEAKER_01: Um, our son Roman was with us, and he looks at Nate and goes, Buy your wife the trip, man.
- 23:44SPEAKER_01: And so I have to thank Roman that we got that.
- 23:47SPEAKER_01: But that trip was life-changing in more than one way, went to Africa.
- 23:50SPEAKER_01: But nine months after Africa, we got our daughter.
- 23:53SPEAKER_01: Ah, so the trip was really good.
- 23:55SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 23:55SPEAKER_01: So the trip was relaxed.
- 23:57SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 23:58SPEAKER_01: Fruitful.
- 23:59SPEAKER_01: Went back to the homeland.
- 24:02SPEAKER_01: I love that.
- 24:03SPEAKER_01: So yeah.
- 24:04SPEAKER_01: So he so on the board of Big Brothers, Big Sisters.
- 24:07SPEAKER_01: Fortunately, he relieved himself of the duty because he couldn't attend due to medical situations.
- 24:14SPEAKER_01: But so that leads into Mayor's Cup.
- 24:17SPEAKER_01: I just, his wish was always to donate a wish to a wish, like a wished kid every year.
- 24:24SPEAKER_01: And that's about 10 grand.
- 24:26SPEAKER_01: So make a wish.
- 24:27SPEAKER_01: And then he wanted to do the same thing with matches, and that, you know, the mish matches aren't quite 10 grand, but you know, it's a couple thousand dollars to make sure that everybody is connected and successful.
- 24:38SPEAKER_01: Pardon me.
- 24:39SPEAKER_01: And um, so he never got to do that.
- 24:43SPEAKER_01: So I, when he passed, I said, I want to carry on his legacy, and I need to teach our daughter everything about how hard her father worked to be kind of an upstanding citizen and philanthropist.
- 24:58SPEAKER_01: So I got this idea that I was like, okay, I'm gonna start doing a golf tournament.
- 25:04SPEAKER_01: Had no idea.
- 25:05SPEAKER_01: I don't golf.
- 25:05SPEAKER_01: Nate loved to golf.
- 25:06SPEAKER_01: Like, I think I've been on a golf course a handful of times, maybe, and I've probably golfed.
- 25:11SPEAKER_01: Now a total of four.
- 25:12SPEAKER_02: Yeah, maybe.
- 25:13SPEAKER_02: Two tournaments behind you.
- 25:14SPEAKER_01: Yeah, totally.
- 25:16SPEAKER_01: So um I started this, or I wanted to start this golf tournament, and I was kind of reaching out to a couple of friends, and you know, everybody is interested in helping, but you know, not really getting the lead.
- 25:26SPEAKER_01: And then I get a call from Tony Whitaker, who's on the phone with um a gentleman named Steve Park.
- 25:33SPEAKER_01: And Steve Park and his wife Jenny have their own golf tournament who you participate with.
- 25:38SPEAKER_01: This Friday.
- 25:38SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 25:39SPEAKER_01: 18th, here we come.
- 25:40SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 25:41SPEAKER_01: Um, so they raise money for type 1 diabetes.
- 25:44SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 25:44SPEAKER_01: She's a diabetic.
- 25:46SPEAKER_01: And so they started their tournament in the heart of COVID with like 30 days.
- 25:50SPEAKER_01: I mean, their story is pretty incredible, too.
- 25:51SPEAKER_01: So I get this call from Steve, and Steve basically says, Can I swear on this?
- 25:56SPEAKER_01: Can I he basically says, like everybody says who's an experienced cancer, fuck cancer, you know, what can I do to help?
- 26:01SPEAKER_01: And I said, Well, you're like a godsend.
- 26:04SPEAKER_01: I've been thinking about how to do this.
- 26:05SPEAKER_01: I have no idea where to start.
- 26:07SPEAKER_01: So I meet with him, I meet with his wife Jenny, who to give Jenny, Steve's great.
- 26:12SPEAKER_01: He's more of like the I'll get all the pieces together, but Jenny's like the workhorse.
- 26:16SPEAKER_01: She gets it actually done.
- 26:18SPEAKER_01: So with Jenny's help and Steve and everybody else, um, I put together a board, which I could not be more blessed and grateful.
- 26:25SPEAKER_01: They're nothing but Nate's, you know, closest and best friends.
- 26:28SPEAKER_01: There's a few that I would invite to be on the board, but know their personalities and the the hard work, well, I shouldn't say the hard workers, but the I got the people who got voluntoled to be on the board.
- 26:40SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 26:40SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 26:41SPEAKER_01: So understood.
- 26:43SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 26:43SPEAKER_01: So it the whole mission of the Mayor's Cup is to raise funds for Make a Wish, Big Brothers, and then I can't not dedicate money to lung cancer research.
- 26:54SPEAKER_01: Of course.
- 26:55SPEAKER_01: So it's those three causes.
- 26:57SPEAKER_01: And um, I'm kind of skipping ahead, but something surprising.
- 27:00SPEAKER_01: I know you sent me a couple questions.
- 27:02SPEAKER_01: Something surprising to know about me is over these last two years, we've raised over$120,000 to give to those causes.
- 27:09SPEAKER_01: That's incredible.
- 27:09SPEAKER_01: So cool.
- 27:10SPEAKER_02: And just two years, too.
- 27:12SPEAKER_02: Like what a it's it's such a testament to what people can do when they're really motivated by a genuine cause.
- 27:18SPEAKER_02: And that's so beautiful.
- 27:19SPEAKER_02: Like the the most beautiful thing that could come out of such a tragic experience in life.
- 27:25SPEAKER_01: And I am I can't I wouldn't be able to do it without my board, without everybody who participates, and Nate's friends, and you know, everybody who's become like family to me.
- 27:34SPEAKER_01: So I am nothing but blessed.
- 27:36SPEAKER_01: And the fact that they seem to continue to do this and they're kind of excited for year three, which is tentatively scheduled for April 23rd, 2027.
- 27:45SPEAKER_01: Um, by the way, but um, that's only because I was like, I just have to pay a deposit.
- 27:51SPEAKER_01: So I we actually like locked in the day.
- 27:53SPEAKER_01: So that's why it came out.
- 27:54SPEAKER_01: But um, yeah, it's it's surreal.
- 27:57SPEAKER_01: And then on top of it, I have all these other friends and family who, you know, have their own, like Jen and Patrick Foundation, who I don't know if you know the Partingtons.
- 28:08SPEAKER_01: Um, so very long story, very short, but they have donated part of their money towards the Mayor's Cup and they want it to see it keep going.
- 28:17SPEAKER_01: And then um Steve Scholler, he raises money for um Shriner's Hospital, and he's hosting a event for cycle or spinning cycle bicycle, and he's gonna donate some of his proceeds to the mayor's cup, but it's just without trying to keep it together, y'all.
- 28:34SPEAKER_01: But like it's really not save space.
- 28:37SPEAKER_02: You can cry on a podcast, turns out.
- 28:40SPEAKER_01: Hey, perfect.
- 28:42SPEAKER_01: Um, but it's just the love that I feel in like the it's too much.
- 28:51SPEAKER_00: It's just yeah, there's no words to describe it.
- 28:54SPEAKER_00: And let's not lose sight of the fact of like how incredibly difficult it is to put on an event like of that scale.
- 29:03SPEAKER_00: And you mentioned your board is great, but I'm sure there's times when your board is not great.
- 29:07SPEAKER_00: And then you probably want to wrap your hands around their necks.
- 29:10SPEAKER_01: At this point, no, they have done.
- 29:11SPEAKER_01: But like maybe when we are like 15 years in and we're 10 times the size, and I have a different other, you know, bigger board or some sort of something.
- 29:19SPEAKER_00: But well, the the cause is so the cause is so is so great and so noble and so worthwhile that obviously it makes sense.
- 29:27SPEAKER_00: Yes, right?
- 29:28SPEAKER_00: I mean, I'm blessed.
- 29:29SPEAKER_00: You don't have to remind people that they're there for an amazing cause and you know, to to carry on the legacy of an amazing person.
- 29:37SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 29:37SPEAKER_01: And he would have been asking for you to donate money anyway.
- 29:40SPEAKER_01: So I'm just doing it on his behalf.
- 29:41SPEAKER_01: So thanks, Sacramento.
- 29:42SPEAKER_01: Doesn't make it appreciate it.
- 29:44SPEAKER_02: What a great legacy to carry on, though.
- 29:46SPEAKER_02: Like, look, it's not me, it's him.
- 29:48SPEAKER_02: And it's for his daughter.
- 29:49SPEAKER_01: Like, she's gotta learn how to do this too.
- 29:50SPEAKER_01: So she has to work the tournament like she's she's in it.
- 29:54SPEAKER_00: Was there like an aha moment that that was like it's the mayor's cup, it's a golf tournament, that's what we're doing.
- 30:01SPEAKER_01: He loved to golf.
- 30:02SPEAKER_01: Uh-huh.
- 30:03SPEAKER_01: Um kind of the irony is he's not a big fan of golf tournaments because they take so long.
- 30:09SPEAKER_01: He likes to just golf.
- 30:10SPEAKER_01: So there is that aspect, but I that gets overplayed by him being social and loving to bring all of his people that he loved together.
- 30:20SPEAKER_01: Like he was notorious for, hey, Kaylee, um, why don't you meet me down at, you know, whatever restaurant?
- 30:27SPEAKER_01: You're like, okay, great, see you at five or whatever.
- 30:30SPEAKER_01: And then there's like 30 other people to this like closed door invite-only event.
- 30:36SPEAKER_01: And you're like, uh I what?
- 30:38SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 30:39SPEAKER_01: He's like, no, no, you're with me.
- 30:40SPEAKER_01: Come on.
- 30:41SPEAKER_01: Yeah, right.
- 30:42SPEAKER_01: I mean, but like you were always invited if you were with Nate.
- 30:45SPEAKER_01: Like it was just one of those that even if you didn't have a ticket or the right whatever, it was like, no, no, come on, you're coming with me.
- 30:52SPEAKER_01: And everybody for blessings and curses, like you brought some people to Thanksgiving unprepared, and we were all like, oh, okay, here we go.
- 31:01SPEAKER_01: Okay, we made turkey for 10, and now we have 15.
- 31:04SPEAKER_01: Great, let's go.
- 31:05SPEAKER_02: It sounds like the kind of guy that makes sure nobody is left behind.
- 31:08SPEAKER_01: So that's what I try and do, and I try and keep it pretty at this point close, like one degree of separation.
- 31:16SPEAKER_01: If you knew Nate or me, like I am honored and blessed to have you guys.
- 31:21SPEAKER_01: So but with that being said, people have said, hey, can we make it bigger?
- 31:24SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, I don't, I don't know if I want to make it bigger.
- 31:26SPEAKER_02: I was just about to say, so what is the like five ten year goal or plan for that?
- 31:31SPEAKER_02: Because eventually, like, it's it's gonna grow.
- 31:33SPEAKER_01: That's I mean, I would ultimately I say that I would like to so I would like to have in theory like two tournaments or some sort of something, like one in the fall, one in the spring, or whatever it is, but selfishly to bring all the people who love Nate and who I love because they love Nate and in turn love Dagan and I, and I just selfishly want to get that, and then also want to increase our philanthropic or philanthropic um arms.
- 31:59SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 31:59SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 32:00SPEAKER_02: What a noble cause.
- 32:01SPEAKER_02: Yeah, okay, thanks.
- 32:02SPEAKER_02: I mean, yeah, you have all the great, the the best motivation you could have.
- 32:05SPEAKER_00: So like having been a part of it for two years and not knowing Nate, like to see the the community wrap their arms around it, it really, really is incredible.
- 32:15SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 32:16SPEAKER_00: I mean, and it's just fantastic people everywhere you look, and everyone's just, you know, wanting to pitch in and yeah, it's there for the right.
- 32:22SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and it's you know, we're not I know this is a real estate thing, and everybody here, meaning who attends our um event is mostly associated with real estate in some degrees, you know, finance or actual brokers or construction.
- 32:35SPEAKER_01: But I just yeah, it's just overwhelming that everybody comes together and it's they all come from these back different backgrounds and they're great friends for a day.
- 32:46SPEAKER_01: Like they may be fighting over a deal one minute, but like they forget about it uh in my opinion.
- 32:52SPEAKER_01: At the mayor's cap, but everybody seems to be friendly and jovial.
- 32:55SPEAKER_01: Put your differences aside.
- 32:56SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I mean it's it's hard to hold on for to petty things like that when you're there to celebrate the life of somebody who always put greater causes above themselves and is now no longer.
- 33:06SPEAKER_02: I mean, it's like could you imagine if you're bitching about something like at work on that tournament day?
- 33:12SPEAKER_01: It's just so I mean so I try I think people like to come.
- 33:16SPEAKER_01: I hope people like to come because of that.
- 33:20SPEAKER_01: It's not it's not an acre, it's not a BOMA, it's not an IRAM, it's not an industry thing, even though it's a hundred percent an industry thing.
- 33:28SPEAKER_02: Yeah, well it started there.
- 33:29SPEAKER_02: Who knows what it's gonna turn into in the next five to ten years.
- 33:31SPEAKER_01: We'll see.
- 33:32SPEAKER_01: Hopefully Degan will take over.
- 33:33SPEAKER_01: She'll be 11 at that point.
- 33:34SPEAKER_00: I wanna uh I wanna I wanna shift I wanna shift gears a little bit because obviously when when we met a couple weeks ago over coffee and you shared your new venture, like I want to tap into that because I'm super excited for you.
- 33:45SPEAKER_00: I think you're gonna crush it.
- 33:46SPEAKER_00: Um so can we talk a little bit about your new business and and what you're doing there and working on it?
- 33:52SPEAKER_00: Share some of your yeah, share, share what you got, what do you got going on?
- 33:56SPEAKER_01: Um working on it.
- 33:57SPEAKER_01: So I jumped off a cliff, and some people are going to be very disappointed that I jumped off the cliff, and others will be very excited that I jumped off a cliff, and I think it's the right thing.
- 34:07SPEAKER_01: Um, I feel like it was a push from Nate telling me that, hey, this situation that you're in isn't working.
- 34:14SPEAKER_01: So hey, go start your own thing.
- 34:16SPEAKER_01: So I am slowly and surely starting my own property asset management company.
- 34:22SPEAKER_01: So it's called AND, which I kind of like it, but it's Andrea, Nate, and Dagan.
- 34:28SPEAKER_01: Cute to keep the whole thing together.
- 34:30SPEAKER_01: And I don't know how to bridge the gap between Mayor's Cup and man, my management company, which I probably won't because I need to be two separate entities, but I don't know.
- 34:40SPEAKER_01: I just Nate's always a part of everything that I'll do, I guess.
- 34:43SPEAKER_02: Oh, for life.
- 34:44SPEAKER_01: So starting off with that.
- 34:47SPEAKER_01: Um, are you?
- 34:49SPEAKER_00: I mean, I know I'm taking on taking on the case.
- 34:52SPEAKER_01: I have I'm working on hopefully the by the time this airs, hopefully the management contract will be executed, but it's been out for signature.
- 35:01SPEAKER_01: Partners have been at way at you know, functions or whatever they have to do.
- 35:05SPEAKER_01: Um, so hopefully it'll be signed this week.
- 35:08SPEAKER_01: I have my EIN, like all of the legal mumbo jumbo um is done thanks to the attorneys who I know who have I've roped in and made me cover my tushy because I don't want to do it myself.
- 35:22SPEAKER_01: No offense, chat GPT.
- 35:23SPEAKER_01: But thank God for them.
- 35:24SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's 100%.
- 35:26SPEAKER_01: So I feel really secure in making this next move, even though it's like, oh my gosh, if I fail, it's 100% me.
- 35:31SPEAKER_01: But if I succeed, it's 100% on me.
- 35:32SPEAKER_01: So I just I'm trying to take it.
- 35:34SPEAKER_01: Like I had no idea that this mayor's cup was gonna work, and I have the backing of basically this entire city.
- 35:41SPEAKER_01: So I'm hoping, you know, fingers crossed.
- 35:44SPEAKER_02: It's gonna work.
- 35:44SPEAKER_02: You don't need to hope.
- 35:46SPEAKER_02: Just take action and then it works.
- 35:47SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 35:48SPEAKER_02: Good point.
- 35:49SPEAKER_02: I mean, you there's gonna be shit days.
- 35:52SPEAKER_02: You can call Dan and I, and we'll probably want to record it for the podcast.
- 35:56SPEAKER_02: But you know, like all of us experience voice memos.
- 35:59SPEAKER_02: Yeah, all of us experience the up and down.
- 36:01SPEAKER_01: Screenshot of this is what's going on.
- 36:05SPEAKER_01: Yeah, totally.
- 36:06SPEAKER_01: But I think the whole the other premise is I mean, it's nice to work for yourself.
- 36:11SPEAKER_01: It's also very nice to work for another company because there is security in that.
- 36:14SPEAKER_01: But I just having had Dagan and gone through the experience that I did with Nate, I spent so many hours not with him, looking back that I mean, I'm not I'm not what is the word?
- 36:29SPEAKER_01: I'm not you don't have guilt.
- 36:31SPEAKER_01: Well, that I'm not like it's not dumb, but I'm not blind enough to know that I'm can't like I can't go to everything that I've taken, right?
- 36:39SPEAKER_01: But I want to be able to not feel the pressure from name the company that like, well, you're not here until nine and you leave at three, like what's going on?
- 36:48SPEAKER_01: So I and to say that when Nate was going through cancer, the company that I worked with um was nothing but supportive.
- 36:55SPEAKER_01: So I'm blessed in that regard.
- 36:57SPEAKER_01: I just don't want to push it for another lifetime.
- 37:00SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 37:01SPEAKER_01: So I just want I need the flexibility.
- 37:03SPEAKER_01: I want the flexibility to be with my daughter because of what I went through with Nate.
- 37:08SPEAKER_01: I just need to put her one A, one B.
- 37:11SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 37:11SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 37:11SPEAKER_02: And it's gonna, it's gonna force you to be hyper productive in the short amount of time that you can focus on the work, which is really a phenomenal.
- 37:19SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 37:20SPEAKER_00: And I'll tell you right now, I mean, I have a 16-year-old daughter, and from six to sixteen, those 10 years flew.
- 37:26SPEAKER_00: Flew by.
- 37:27SPEAKER_00: And everyone says it.
- 37:28SPEAKER_00: And and I and I think a lot about that.
- 37:30SPEAKER_00: Like it is very cliche, and there's there's no way to say it appropriately.
- 37:35SPEAKER_00: Like that time flies, or like the days are long, but the years fly by type of stuff.
- 37:41SPEAKER_02: Time is such a thing.
- 37:42SPEAKER_02: It's truly criminal.
- 37:44SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 37:44SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 37:45SPEAKER_02: It's crazy how quickly it goes.
- 37:47SPEAKER_02: It's almost like when there's more to live for, the faster it goes, and you're like, what the f yeah.
- 37:53SPEAKER_01: How do you fit it all in?
- 37:54SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 37:55SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 37:56SPEAKER_02: I also heard somebody say that it's because like the older you get, you're not like doubling your lifespan.
- 38:03SPEAKER_02: Like when you're a kid, like the jump from one to five or five to ten, you're like doubling your life every time.
- 38:09SPEAKER_02: But now we're like living in these in-between years and it's all getting.
- 38:12SPEAKER_01: It takes 40 years to double yourself.
- 38:13SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 38:15SPEAKER_02: I don't understand the math of that, but when he was explaining it, I was like, ah, that makes sense.
- 38:18SPEAKER_02: Can't re-explain it now.
- 38:20SPEAKER_02: So I guess I don't understand.
- 38:21SPEAKER_01: No, no, you just did.
- 38:22SPEAKER_01: When you're 40, it takes 40 years to double yourself versus one, it takes a year to double yourself.
- 38:27SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it makes sense.
- 38:28SPEAKER_02: Anyway, but okay, so are you you've mentioned you lived in Orange County.
- 38:32SPEAKER_02: Where are you from originally?
- 38:34SPEAKER_01: Well, that's a really great story, too.
- 38:36SPEAKER_02: So I love all these stories.
- 38:39SPEAKER_01: So I was born and mostly raised in Sacramento.
- 38:43SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 38:44SPEAKER_01: Um So we can call you a native.
- 38:46SPEAKER_01: No.
- 38:47SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 38:47SPEAKER_01: She's like, please don't.
- 38:49SPEAKER_01: I just I I just don't feel that I am because I didn't go to high school here.
- 38:53SPEAKER_01: So I went to um St.
- 38:56SPEAKER_01: Michael's.
- 38:56SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 38:57SPEAKER_01: And that's where that's where my son slated to go.
- 38:59SPEAKER_01: Well, hey, Dragon.
- 39:01SPEAKER_01: I know.
- 39:01SPEAKER_01: I'm so excited to welcome you in.
- 39:03SPEAKER_01: Are you there too?
- 39:04SPEAKER_01: My so my daughter is, yeah.
- 39:05SPEAKER_01: My daughter is there.
- 39:06SPEAKER_01: So I went there.
- 39:07SPEAKER_01: So Dagan's over there.
- 39:08SPEAKER_01: So, and it was honestly, I like the school.
- 39:12SPEAKER_01: Two of my nieces went there.
- 39:13SPEAKER_01: It's a soft landing.
- 39:15SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 39:15SPEAKER_01: I know a lot of people who go there.
- 39:17SPEAKER_01: And I just needed, when Nate passed, I just needed a soft place.
- 39:20SPEAKER_00: Some stability.
- 39:20SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 39:20SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 39:21SPEAKER_01: I just needed a soft place where if something happened to Dagan, I could make a quick phone call and be like, hey, Auntie, whoever, come get her.
- 39:30SPEAKER_01: And it was gonna be a no problem.
- 39:32SPEAKER_01: And we're loving the school.
- 39:33SPEAKER_01: It's a great school, plugs.
- 39:35SPEAKER_01: Um hope that you come.
- 39:39SPEAKER_01: But um, so I went there until fourth grade, basically.
- 39:45SPEAKER_01: And then um I was moved along because your parents take you with them um to Salt Lake.
- 39:54SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 39:54SPEAKER_01: My dad had read retired at that point, and there was some.
- 39:59SPEAKER_01: I don't know why we moved to Utah, other than I know that there were some issues going along with my oldest sister, but she didn't come with us.
- 40:06SPEAKER_01: So it is what it is.
- 40:08SPEAKER_02: Family stuff.
- 40:09SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 40:09SPEAKER_01: So then I put in my time, and I say I put in my time in Utah because I was not a fan.
- 40:14SPEAKER_01: I had my perfect little situation.
- 40:16SPEAKER_01: You know, you're little, right?
- 40:17SPEAKER_01: I had my best friends lived literally.
- 40:19SPEAKER_00: I don't know if there's anything more terrifying in life like it than if you're a junior high school kid and your parents like, we're moving.
- 40:25SPEAKER_01: We're moving, yeah.
- 40:25SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 40:25SPEAKER_01: Your whole life.
- 40:26SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 40:27unknown: Come on.
- 40:28SPEAKER_01: Go into new, and it's got my homies here.
- 40:29SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 40:30SPEAKER_01: Well, and from California to Utah, and this is again probably like more than 20 years ago, if I'm doing my math correctly.
- 40:36SPEAKER_01: Um, and I had my best friend literally behind me.
- 40:39SPEAKER_01: Like my dad cut a hole in our fence so that like her sister and she and I could all like pass through.
- 40:46SPEAKER_01: Yeah, 100%.
- 40:47SPEAKER_01: And so I just it was perfect, and I had this itty-bitty school where you have like 12 people in your class, and so you know everybody, and every you know, you're perfect, perfect life.
- 40:55SPEAKER_01: And so Right.
- 40:57SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 40:58SPEAKER_01: And so then I got then it popped.
- 41:00SPEAKER_01: And then we moved to Utah, which it's a great city, great state, great people.
- 41:05SPEAKER_01: Salt Lake area.
- 41:06SPEAKER_01: Salt Lake.
- 41:06SPEAKER_01: Beautiful.
- 41:07SPEAKER_01: So we lived beautiful.
- 41:08SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 41:08SPEAKER_01: So we lived in Federal Heights, which is right by the University of Utah, and people have since changed.
- 41:14SPEAKER_01: The world has gotten more open.
- 41:17SPEAKER_01: So it's a lot different now than it was when I was there, but I didn't make very many friends because I wasn't Mormon.
- 41:22SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 41:23SPEAKER_01: And you're from California.
- 41:24SPEAKER_01: And from California.
- 41:25SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 41:26SPEAKER_02: I had I had a stint like that, my my third grade year to Idaho.
- 41:30SPEAKER_02: Oh.
- 41:30SPEAKER_02: Oh, and I just of like people, I don't, it was like they just because you're from California, they have instant reason to not like you.
- 41:39SPEAKER_02: It's like, I'm at how old are you?
- 41:41SPEAKER_02: Like seven, you know?
- 41:42SPEAKER_02: It's like little.
- 41:43SPEAKER_02: Just trying to live my life and make friends.
- 41:45SPEAKER_02: And I don't, I didn't want to be here with you, but here we are.
- 41:49SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 41:49SPEAKER_01: Not my choice either, Fred.
- 41:51SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 41:53SPEAKER_01: So, and then I went to Catholic high school in Utah, which was tough because I'm interested.
- 41:59SPEAKER_01: Uh-huh.
- 41:59SPEAKER_01: And so obviously, two very strong religions have two very different ways of life.
- 42:04SPEAKER_01: And I'm not a part of either of them.
- 42:06SPEAKER_01: So I'm just trying to get back to it.
- 42:09SPEAKER_01: I'm not, I love I so looking back, being the adult that I am, like, they were really great learning opportunities and like gave me a lot of perspectives.
- 42:20SPEAKER_00: They were formidable, yeah, especially.
- 42:21SPEAKER_01: They did.
- 42:22SPEAKER_00: You had no idea the the the formidability of them when you're your age.
- 42:26SPEAKER_00: Little when you're a little kid, yeah.
- 42:28SPEAKER_01: So, and then I got out of there, went to college, came back to Sacramento because of my sister, both sisters, technically.
- 42:35SPEAKER_01: One made me move back, but the other was here to catch me.
- 42:37SPEAKER_01: So I will forever and always love that.
- 42:40SPEAKER_01: And then got the opportunity to move to Orange County, and I was like, this is like, this is my jam.
- 42:46SPEAKER_01: I thought Scotchdale was my jam.
- 42:48SPEAKER_01: No, no, no.
- 42:49SPEAKER_01: But I forgot how much I love the ocean.
- 42:51SPEAKER_01: Like, this is my thing.
- 42:53SPEAKER_01: And then Nate, I mean, you know, he tried to move down.
- 42:57SPEAKER_01: Brokerage is obviously a lot harder than a management or any other, I shouldn't say any other profession, but it's harder to re-establish yourself.
- 43:05SPEAKER_01: So up I came because that was the smart thing to do at the time.
- 43:10SPEAKER_01: And here I am.
- 43:11SPEAKER_01: And though I think in a perfect scenario, I'd be back in Orange County again.
- 43:16SPEAKER_01: I am grateful and blessed and love the Sacramento Community movement for you know holding me.
- 43:22SPEAKER_01: Well, you know, you never know what life the future holds.
- 43:25SPEAKER_01: But at some point I'll move down when Degan and I can retire, or when I can retire.
- 43:32SPEAKER_01: And Degan can do her own thing.
- 43:33SPEAKER_01: She's, you know, she's on her own.
- 43:35SPEAKER_02: But she would love the OCT.
- 43:38SPEAKER_01: And they lived in San Diego, so I really thought I could get him for a couple years to move down, but it just was not in our cards.
- 43:44SPEAKER_00: But that's tough when you're in a when you're in a relationship business.
- 43:48SPEAKER_00: It's it's tough.
- 43:49SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 43:49SPEAKER_02: For sure.
- 43:50SPEAKER_02: Relationship pulled me back up from SoCal too.
- 43:52SPEAKER_02: And I'm like, you know, I'm happy.
- 43:54SPEAKER_02: It's worth it.
- 43:55SPEAKER_02: I'm happy.
- 43:56SPEAKER_02: Same, same, same.
- 43:58SPEAKER_02: Could here also be a different environment and we still be happy?
- 44:02SPEAKER_02: Sure.
- 44:02SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 44:02SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 44:02SPEAKER_02: But you know what, Sacramento, this is a Sacramento lifestyle and real estate pod.
- 44:08SPEAKER_02: So let's talk about why Sacramento is amazing and why we're all here.
- 44:11SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 44:12SPEAKER_01: Um, I can give you a hundred and twenty thousand dollars reason for why I'm so blessed to be here and so honored.
- 44:19SPEAKER_01: Pretty great.
- 44:19SPEAKER_01: So thank you, Sacramento.
- 44:21SPEAKER_01: Thank you very much.
- 44:21SPEAKER_01: Honestly.
- 44:22SPEAKER_00: Honestly.
- 44:22SPEAKER_00: What are what are so what are some of your you you live uh midtown area?
- 44:26SPEAKER_00: No, you're Sacramento?
- 44:27SPEAKER_00: Midtown?
- 44:27SPEAKER_00: Sierra Oaks.
- 44:28SPEAKER_00: Sierra Oaks.
- 44:28SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 44:29SPEAKER_02: Oh, Lemon Fazer area.
- 44:31SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 44:31SPEAKER_02: I used to live uh our first house was we backed up to Sierra Oaks, so I always like to say that we lived in Sierra Oaks, but we had to cross over Northrop to get there.
- 44:41SPEAKER_02: So but Sierra Oaks.
- 44:43SPEAKER_02: Guilty by association.
- 44:44SPEAKER_02: We you know we walked through Sierra Oaks every day.
- 44:46SPEAKER_02: But um no, it's a beautiful neighborhood.
- 44:48SPEAKER_02: I feel like I should do my lightning round right now before we ask more questions because it's gonna take some of my my questions away.
- 44:55SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 44:56SPEAKER_02: We're gonna jump ahead.
- 44:57SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 44:58SPEAKER_02: All right.
- 44:58SPEAKER_01: So old Sacramidtown.
- 45:00SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 45:01SPEAKER_01: Oh old Sacramento Midtown.
- 45:03SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 45:03SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 45:04SPEAKER_02: King's game or Rivercount's game?
- 45:05SPEAKER_02: Oh King's Leatherbees or Gunthers.
- 45:07SPEAKER_01: Oh, Leatherbees.
- 45:09unknown: Yes.
- 45:10SPEAKER_01: I went to school with a Leatherbee.
- 45:11SPEAKER_01: My fourth grade teacher was a Leatherbee.
- 45:13SPEAKER_01: See?
- 45:14SPEAKER_01: We had this like parallel life here.
- 45:17SPEAKER_01: River or lake?
- 45:18SPEAKER_01: Uh oh, I mean ocean.
- 45:21SPEAKER_01: Okay, I like that.
- 45:22SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 45:22SPEAKER_01: Okay, I'll take lake.
- 45:24SPEAKER_01: Uh Apple Hill or Bishops.
- 45:26SPEAKER_01: Um, never been to Bishops.
- 45:28SPEAKER_01: So Apple Hill?
- 45:29SPEAKER_02: Okay, we have so much to talk about.
- 45:31SPEAKER_01: Okay, good.
- 45:32SPEAKER_01: We were so right there until I just I signed myself off.
- 45:36SPEAKER_02: Okay, favorite season in Sacramento?
- 45:38SPEAKER_02: Summer.
- 45:39SPEAKER_02: If you had to eliminate one and live with the other, would it be heat or the allergies?
- 45:44SPEAKER_02: Oh, I'd live with heat.
- 45:45SPEAKER_02: For sure.
- 45:46SPEAKER_02: No problem.
- 45:46SPEAKER_00: Yeah, she just said summer.
- 45:47SPEAKER_00: That was looming in fruit.
- 45:49SPEAKER_02: So, okay, final question.
- 45:50SPEAKER_02: If you could live in any Sacramento neighborhood, Sierra Oaks.
- 45:54SPEAKER_01: It would be Sierra Oaks.
- 45:56SPEAKER_01: Or next to my sister, but yeah, or my sister and brother-in-law in Arden Oaks.
- 45:59SPEAKER_02: Arden Oaks, yeah.
- 46:00SPEAKER_02: Beautiful neighborhoods.
- 46:01SPEAKER_02: Beautiful neighborhoods.
- 46:02SPEAKER_01: I love that.
- 46:03SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 46:03SPEAKER_01: Or Arden Park, too.
- 46:05SPEAKER_01: Arden Park's fun.
- 46:05SPEAKER_01: I like Sierra Oaks and Arden Oaks.
- 46:07SPEAKER_02: That's beautiful.
- 46:09SPEAKER_02: It's so beautiful.
- 46:10SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 46:11SPEAKER_02: See?
- 46:11SPEAKER_02: Now we can now we can keep asking more questions.
- 46:14SPEAKER_00: Lightning round was good.
- 46:15SPEAKER_00: That was very good.
- 46:15SPEAKER_02: Thank you.
- 46:16SPEAKER_02: I had a lot to make up for.
- 46:18SPEAKER_00: Which improved.
- 46:19SPEAKER_02: My last episode was like a full moon.
- 46:20SPEAKER_02: I didn't, it was just really trying to pawn it off on me.
- 46:23SPEAKER_00: I didn't take it.
- 46:24SPEAKER_02: Honestly, I've never had issues with it before, but I had like a moment.
- 46:27SPEAKER_02: I just had, what do they call it?
- 46:29SPEAKER_02: Well, stage fright for me, but there's like a guy turning.
- 46:31SPEAKER_02: Right's block?
- 46:32SPEAKER_02: Oh, something like that.
- 46:33SPEAKER_02: Whatever.
- 46:33SPEAKER_00: Anyways.
- 46:34SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 46:34SPEAKER_00: So now we're we're we're we're fully immersed.
- 46:36SPEAKER_00: So you are Sacramento.
- 46:38SPEAKER_00: I'm you're a Sacramento person.
- 46:41SPEAKER_00: So talk about some of your favorite spots and things to do around Sacramento.
- 46:47SPEAKER_01: Um let's see.
- 46:49SPEAKER_00: They can be drinking establishments.
- 46:50SPEAKER_01: I was gonna say I am gonna throw this one out, and it's such a terrible response, but every Sacramentan can appreciate this Bandera.
- 47:00SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah.
- 47:01SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 47:01SPEAKER_00: Oh, it's so missed.
- 47:03SPEAKER_00: So missed.
- 47:04SPEAKER_02: Um honestly, I don't even understand why they closed.
- 47:06SPEAKER_02: Like they were always so busy.
- 47:08SPEAKER_01: Well, so the company who owns or owned that shopping center moved me down to Orange County.
- 47:13SPEAKER_01: So I will let them speak to it because I don't do their HR, but or not their HR, but I don't do their PR, yeah.
- 47:20SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 47:20unknown: Okay.
- 47:21SPEAKER_01: Um it made sense what they had to do versus what Bandera was saying.
- 47:26SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 47:26SPEAKER_01: Oh, there's always story.
- 47:30SPEAKER_00: We just came across a bandera, and I want to say it was in Southern California.
- 47:34SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's in it's the only Bandera left.
- 47:36SPEAKER_01: One of them.
- 47:36SPEAKER_00: It's in Long Beach?
- 47:38SPEAKER_01: No, it's in CDM, Corona Del Mary.
- 47:41SPEAKER_00: Okay, okay.
- 47:42SPEAKER_01: So the first Bandera location was in Scottsdale, FYI, and that one even closed.
- 47:46SPEAKER_01: So like all I think they're called 15.
- 47:49SPEAKER_01: I don't know how many they actually were, but like of the 15, I think there are like 12 that closed.
- 47:55SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 47:55SPEAKER_01: So I don't know what the thought was behind that, but yeah.
- 48:00SPEAKER_01: So if you need some bandera Sacramento del Mars.
- 48:04SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 48:05SPEAKER_02: So now that that is gone, where what's your go-to?
- 48:08SPEAKER_02: That's a great question.
- 48:09SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
- 48:11SPEAKER_00: You haven't replaced him yet.
- 48:11SPEAKER_00: I haven't replaced it.
- 48:12SPEAKER_00: Because Bennett's is great.
- 48:15SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 48:16SPEAKER_01: You can still get the cornbread.
- 48:17SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 48:17SPEAKER_01: See, that's a hard thing is.
- 48:20SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's just not the same.
- 48:22SPEAKER_01: Not quite the same.
- 48:23SPEAKER_01: So like everywhere else, it's just whatever Bandera has or had, it's just can't be replicated.
- 48:32SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 48:32SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 48:32SPEAKER_02: What about your favorite watering hole?
- 48:34SPEAKER_01: Oh, um, probably all the places that I used to go with Nate, which is uh there's a hundred thousand, but like top probably let's say three.
- 48:44SPEAKER_01: Um Morton's was always a popular one.
- 48:46SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 48:47SPEAKER_01: Um House at 555 Capital.
- 48:50SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 48:50SPEAKER_01: Chris Nestor, who has or used to have Inc.
- 48:53SPEAKER_01: Um, and then Miyagi's.
- 48:56SPEAKER_01: I love Miyagi's.
- 48:58SPEAKER_01: The local, local watering hole.
- 49:00SPEAKER_01: And then there's always, you know, really anywhere um that served a cocktail was somewhere that's no need to beg her.
- 49:07SPEAKER_02: I was kind of hoping you might get a little grungy.
- 49:10SPEAKER_02: Like I'm waiting for somebody to say something like that.
- 49:12SPEAKER_00: She's dressed tennis outfit and Gucci tennis shoes.
- 49:15SPEAKER_00: I mean grungy.
- 49:16SPEAKER_01: The amount of times that I've spent at the Raven and like I have, yeah.
- 49:22SPEAKER_01: Ernie's interlude, what else?
- 49:24SPEAKER_01: I'm trying, yeah.
- 49:25SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 49:26SPEAKER_01: So I do do that, but would it be where I go every day?
- 49:29SPEAKER_01: No.
- 49:30SPEAKER_01: Thank God.
- 49:31SPEAKER_01: But so that's like, okay, it's a favorite grunge spot.
- 49:33SPEAKER_00: Like if I What about Bernardo?
- 49:35SPEAKER_00: You're right there in the in the Bernardo.
- 49:37SPEAKER_00: Like pavilions?
- 49:38SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 49:38SPEAKER_02: Wildwood.
- 49:39SPEAKER_02: If you're going to the pavilions, you're going to Wildwood, though.
- 49:42SPEAKER_02: For sure.
- 49:42SPEAKER_01: I like their patio.
- 49:44SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 49:44SPEAKER_01: And Piati's has a great patio, too.
- 49:47SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 49:47SPEAKER_01: I don't know that I've been to Piati's, actually.
- 49:49SPEAKER_01: Their piatio is their piatio.
- 49:52SPEAKER_01: That's what it should be called.
- 49:53SPEAKER_01: The piatios.
- 49:54SPEAKER_01: Piadios.
- 49:55SPEAKER_00: You might want to trademark that before you take it.
- 49:58SPEAKER_01: Trademark.
- 49:59SPEAKER_01: Um they have that's all shaded.
- 50:01SPEAKER_02: So oh yeah.
- 50:02SPEAKER_02: Because in the sunset can get pretty brutal.
- 50:04SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 50:05SPEAKER_02: But they have great live music out there.
- 50:06SPEAKER_02: Wow.
- 50:07SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 50:07SPEAKER_02: Have you been to Wildwood?
- 50:08SPEAKER_00: I've been to Wildwood, yeah.
- 50:09SPEAKER_02: They have a lot of um real estate.
- 50:11SPEAKER_02: I don't know why.
- 50:11SPEAKER_00: I I guess I just like the um I like the the quaint the quaintness of of Bernardo.
- 50:16SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 50:17SPEAKER_00: I think because because like socially, professionally, it's always larger scale stuff.
- 50:22SPEAKER_00: So when I'm just casual with the fam and a couple friends, I do kind of tend to the little smaller joints.
- 50:29SPEAKER_03: More intimate joints.
- 50:31SPEAKER_00: And for for no reason other than they're just simply not as loud and the service is usually a little quicker.
- 50:35SPEAKER_00: And let's not lie, I mean I get pretty thirsty when I'm on the weekend.
- 50:40SPEAKER_01: I get that.
- 50:40SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 50:41SPEAKER_01: Correctly where I am too.
- 50:43SPEAKER_02: Honestly, I feel it.
- 50:44SPEAKER_02: There's like a Pavlovlian trigger, like once Friday hits, I'm like, God, I don't normally crave drinks, but like they sound better.
- 50:51SPEAKER_00: They they taste better on Fridays, 100%.
- 50:55SPEAKER_02: What are some of the things that Dagan likes to do with you?
- 50:58SPEAKER_01: Oh, anything.
- 50:59SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 51:00SPEAKER_01: I'm her alpha and omega, which is a blessing and a curse.
- 51:03SPEAKER_00: So we like to That's where those small classrooms kind of hurt, right?
- 51:08SPEAKER_00: You're like, oh, can you be like your dad?
- 51:10SPEAKER_01: And more friends would be really helpful.
- 51:14SPEAKER_01: That shouldn't be my future.
- 51:15SPEAKER_01: I know.
- 51:16SPEAKER_01: She's definitely shy.
- 51:17SPEAKER_01: So it takes her.
- 51:19SPEAKER_01: She's best we describe her, she's like an onion.
- 51:21SPEAKER_01: Like if you have the confidence to just like keep telling her that she's okay and like just breeze right through, like, oh great, okay.
- 51:28SPEAKER_01: So you're not gonna talk, but I heard that you like the color pink and you like to write ride unicorns or whatever.
- 51:34SPEAKER_00: Like she's you can break her down a little bit.
- 51:35SPEAKER_01: Yeah, then she's like, oh, okay.
- 51:38SPEAKER_01: I don't remember meeting you, but you seem to know a lot about me.
- 51:42SPEAKER_01: And then you can't get her to stop.
- 51:44SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 51:44SPEAKER_01: So um, but what does Dagan like to do?
- 51:46SPEAKER_01: She likes to go, we do paddleboarding on the American River.
- 51:50SPEAKER_01: So we'll start at Ansel, okay, and then we'll either um stop at probably what or how, just depending on how far down we want to go.
- 51:58SPEAKER_01: And it's not an adventurous paddle board at all.
- 52:02SPEAKER_01: Like, it's very easy.
- 52:04SPEAKER_02: It's floating.
- 52:05SPEAKER_02: Yeah, floating at that point.
- 52:06SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 52:06SPEAKER_00: Riding the current a little bit.
- 52:08SPEAKER_02: I honestly think paddling is almost more fun.
- 52:13SPEAKER_02: Well, it is.
- 52:14SPEAKER_02: But when I'm talking about like just rafting the American River, I I think I would rather be on a paddle board.
- 52:19SPEAKER_02: It's a lot more fun.
- 52:21SPEAKER_02: Yeah, just in interactive, I think.
- 52:24SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you can see the fish.
- 52:25SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 52:26SPEAKER_02: We so I haven't I just have to share this because I I have grown up on that river.
- 52:30SPEAKER_02: My dad did river rescue on the American River.
- 52:32SPEAKER_02: Oh, wow.
- 52:32SPEAKER_02: So like I know every current, every eddy, every turn when you should paddle, when you shouldn't.
- 52:36SPEAKER_02: One thing that I'd say we should go with you.
- 52:38SPEAKER_02: It's kind of fun.
- 52:39SPEAKER_02: Um, but I'm also a little bit of a drill shark sergeant.
- 52:41SPEAKER_02: I'll be like, we need to start paddling right now, or we're gonna get caught in that eddy and it sucks.
- 52:45SPEAKER_02: Um, but I experienced something this year I've never experienced.
- 52:49SPEAKER_02: And we were rafting down.
- 52:50SPEAKER_02: I haven't been rafting in years, and I rekindled my love for it.
- 52:54SPEAKER_02: But as we're going down, there was a sea lion swimming up.
- 52:58SPEAKER_02: And I've never I've seen them down in the Sack River, but never up because we were up by the rapids, like we had just passed the rapids, and there's a sea lion coming up swimming, and he swims under our raft, and every and like every time he comes up, everybody's cheering and stuff because there's a freaking sea lion swimming with us while we're rafting down the American River.
- 53:16SPEAKER_02: Like it was so cool.
- 53:17SPEAKER_02: Very awesome.
- 53:17SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 53:18SPEAKER_02: Anyway, so that was my little plug.
- 53:20SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I was like way better than going to Fisherman's Wharf and having them bark at you.
- 53:24SPEAKER_01: Yes, yes, you can get the ocean in Sacramento.
- 53:28SPEAKER_01: The ocean comes.
- 53:29SPEAKER_01: We found it.
- 53:32SPEAKER_02: Yeah, so okay, so she's a paddle boarder.
- 53:34SPEAKER_02: Um, the reason I say she is she like a fall girl, if is fall a thing for you guys?
- 53:40SPEAKER_01: So she, I'm the only one who can I love the like 110.
- 53:44SPEAKER_01: Like I don't, yeah.
- 53:45SPEAKER_01: It doesn't bother me.
- 53:47SPEAKER_01: Well, you lived in Scottsdale, so yeah.
- 53:49SPEAKER_01: You have to.
- 53:49SPEAKER_01: I I appreciate it.
- 53:50SPEAKER_01: I love it.
- 53:51SPEAKER_00: So is there a caveat to that?
- 53:53SPEAKER_00: Because my air conditioning was out for like four days last week, and I try to tell myself I don't mind the hot weather and I don't bitch about it.
- 54:00SPEAKER_02: Kind of like when I told myself.
- 54:06SPEAKER_00: No, it's not.
- 54:06SPEAKER_01: So then I keep my house at like 78.
- 54:09SPEAKER_01: Oof.
- 54:10SPEAKER_00: So we keep ours fairly warm, but it was getting up into like the mid-high 80s.
- 54:16SPEAKER_00: That is why it was 103 outside in the AC.
- 54:19SPEAKER_02: I get irritable if my house is over 74.
- 54:21SPEAKER_00: I think my wife does too.
- 54:23SPEAKER_00: It's not a thing.
- 54:24SPEAKER_01: I'm too cold.
- 54:26SPEAKER_01: Frozen.
- 54:28SPEAKER_01: Um, so with that being said, Dagan does not do well in Sacramento heat.
- 54:31SPEAKER_01: Uh-huh.
- 54:32SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 54:32SPEAKER_01: She's sweating bullets when it's 80.
- 54:34SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 54:34SPEAKER_01: So she's only spring, fall.
- 54:37SPEAKER_01: She doesn't necessarily like the winter, but she loves to ski.
- 54:41SPEAKER_01: We just established this.
- 54:42SPEAKER_01: She had her first ski lessons last year.
- 54:44SPEAKER_01: So she's all about it.
- 54:46SPEAKER_01: She also has not um had a yard sale.
- 54:48SPEAKER_00: Uh it sounds like she might have some volleyball in her future.
- 54:51SPEAKER_00: I know we've plugged you in with some volleyball opportunities potentially.
- 54:55SPEAKER_00: Yep, yep.
- 54:56SPEAKER_00: That makes my heart so happy.
- 54:58SPEAKER_02: This newfound volleyball dad stuff on you.
- 55:00SPEAKER_00: It looks like I'm seven years into that.
- 55:02SPEAKER_02: I know you're seven years in, but like it's just I feel like I am an ambassador.
- 55:05SPEAKER_02: You are an ambassador, and I feel like their performance over the last couple of years and Kaylee's acceptance into Long Beach, like it, she's really following these collegiate athletes' footsteps of you and Marina.
- 55:17SPEAKER_02: And I feel like there is just this whole new glimmer of pride and support and cheer that's coming from you lately.
- 55:25SPEAKER_02: And it's really cool to see you when you see other kids start to get interested in it.
- 55:28SPEAKER_02: You're like sure, for sure.
- 55:30SPEAKER_00: And my daughter loves younger kids, so like she's coaching and camps and things like that.
- 55:35SPEAKER_00: And they're great ambassador.
- 55:37SPEAKER_02: You should start like a big big brother, big sister program for kids who want to get in and yeah, yeah.
- 55:43SPEAKER_00: I mean, she's doing her thing, she's too busy right now, so it's like, you know, it's not my place to step in.
- 55:48SPEAKER_00: That's her space.
- 55:49SPEAKER_00: I she needs to have that space for her own.
- 55:52SPEAKER_00: And I and I and I actually do need to just be a supporter and a fan and know when to shut up.
- 55:59SPEAKER_00: So hard.
- 56:00SPEAKER_02: So hard.
- 56:01SPEAKER_02: So hard.
- 56:02SPEAKER_02: It's brutal.
- 56:03SPEAKER_02: Um, okay.
- 56:03SPEAKER_02: Well, she might love Bishop's pumpkin patch.
- 56:06SPEAKER_02: It is literally this time.
- 56:08SPEAKER_00: She's been with in school actually.
- 56:09SPEAKER_02: Yeah, they go, so yeah.
- 56:11SPEAKER_02: It's like I just have never been.
- 56:13SPEAKER_02: Uh don't go on the weekends, and October gets crazy.
- 56:16SPEAKER_02: Weekends are really it's it's like Disneyland for a pumpkin patch.
- 56:20SPEAKER_02: That's right.
- 56:21SPEAKER_00: And I by Sacramento standards.
- 56:23SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 56:23SPEAKER_00: Just not to not to poo-poo it.
- 56:26SPEAKER_00: But I am from the I was born and raised in the pumpkin capital of the world, Half Moon Bay.
- 56:30SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 56:31SPEAKER_00: So we take our pumpkin festivities pretty serious.
- 56:35SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 56:35SPEAKER_00: Well, I'd love to like see what you raise.
- 56:39SPEAKER_01: Well, I was gonna say, so where do we go on half moon bay?
- 56:41SPEAKER_01: I know.
- 56:41SPEAKER_02: I'm wearing it.
- 56:43SPEAKER_02: There's a whole pumpkin festival.
- 56:44SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah.
- 56:45SPEAKER_02: Do they have like rides?
- 56:47SPEAKER_00: It's an art and wine festival.
- 56:48SPEAKER_00: It's it's it's it's the same.
- 56:50SPEAKER_00: Is it like too big to be fun though?
- 56:52SPEAKER_00: Um Great.
- 56:54SPEAKER_00: No, no, no, no.
- 56:55SPEAKER_00: And they do and they do some really cool stuff.
- 56:57SPEAKER_00: My sister's really involved on the um on the planning committee for it.
- 57:00SPEAKER_00: It's it's it's amazing.
- 57:02SPEAKER_00: If you I mean you can look it up online at Half-Bay Pumpkin Festival.
- 57:04SPEAKER_00: I know this is a Sacramento thing, but have you heard of Spina?
- 57:07SPEAKER_02: Spina Farms?
- 57:08SPEAKER_02: Spina Farms?
- 57:09SPEAKER_00: I've I've I feel like it's in Morgan Creek.
- 57:14SPEAKER_00: Morgan Creek in like Roseville?
- 57:15SPEAKER_00: Or Morgan Creek, the city in like the South Bay?
- 57:18SPEAKER_00: Yeah, South Bay.
- 57:19SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 57:19SPEAKER_02: Um I think I They were apparently voted like best pumpkin patch in California.
- 57:24SPEAKER_02: Interesting.
- 57:25SPEAKER_02: I've been targeted because they know I'm weak for that.
- 57:27SPEAKER_02: So uh now I'm buying tickets because I have to go check it out.
- 57:30SPEAKER_01: I'm like, So do you like everything pumpkin then?
- 57:32SPEAKER_01: Like everything has a smell and taste like pumpkin.
- 57:34SPEAKER_02: No, no, like pumpkin spice latte, absolutely not.
- 57:38SPEAKER_02: I tried one the other day.
- 57:40SPEAKER_02: I was because I've I knew I've tried it in the past, and then I was I had an impetus, like, I need a Starbucks, it's two o'clock in the afternoon, I haven't slept, it's been a long day, and then I just had this whim of like, let me try the pumpkin spice.
- 57:54SPEAKER_01: Not for you.
- 57:54SPEAKER_02: Couldn't finish it.
- 57:55SPEAKER_02: It's disgusting.
- 57:56SPEAKER_02: Give me real pumpkin, I could do like pumpkin pie, pumpkin cookies, pumpkin pie.
- 58:02SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I'm actually making pumpkin bars today, but giving a lot of them away.
- 58:06SPEAKER_02: It's an obligatory bake.
- 58:08SPEAKER_02: But um, yeah, I I just love the festivities that pumpkins bring.
- 58:14SPEAKER_02: And I like to carve them.
- 58:15SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 58:15SPEAKER_02: I'm not sure.
- 58:16SPEAKER_00: There's something there's something super special.
- 58:18SPEAKER_00: And the fall in Sacramento is so tough to beat.
- 58:21SPEAKER_00: So quite a bit.
- 58:21SPEAKER_00: Um I'm a sunset guy.
- 58:23SPEAKER_00: So it's pretty beautiful.
- 58:24SPEAKER_00: Sunsets in the fall.
- 58:26SPEAKER_02: Our fall is a few years.
- 58:26SPEAKER_02: It was a sunset guy.
- 58:27SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 58:28SPEAKER_02: Do you have a favorite place to watch sunsets in Sacramento?
- 58:31SPEAKER_01: Um, well, the only place that we really did was like down on Capitol Mall.
- 58:35SPEAKER_01: Because we would be walking back from whatever cocktail area.
- 58:39SPEAKER_01: Well, I was just I was just in office.
- 58:41SPEAKER_00: I was just in 500 Capitol the other day.
- 58:44SPEAKER_00: It's beautiful.
- 58:44SPEAKER_00: That's a great thing.
- 58:45SPEAKER_00: And I could only imagine what the sunset looks like from because we were we were talking about it's like, oh, the city of trees.
- 58:50SPEAKER_00: And when you're up there, like up high, it's pretty and you see the canopy, you're like, holy crap.
- 58:54SPEAKER_01: Or farm to fork, not city of trees.
- 58:56SPEAKER_02: Okay, there's two people in Sacramento.
- 58:58SPEAKER_02: You're either a city of trees, a we've been here for a while, or you're the new wave of like, we're the farm to fork capital, which that's great.
- 59:07SPEAKER_02: I pat you on the back.
- 59:09SPEAKER_02: I'm on board with both.
- 59:10SPEAKER_02: We will always be the city of trees.
- 59:11SPEAKER_02: I'm city of trees.
- 59:13SPEAKER_02: That's it.
- 59:13SPEAKER_02: I like it.
- 59:14SPEAKER_02: Forever and always.
- 59:15SPEAKER_02: This new rebrand thing, like it's cool.
- 59:17SPEAKER_02: There's a lot of incredible cities that have farm to fork capabilities.
- 59:21SPEAKER_00: Well, hopefully the keyboard warriors don't light up our comments section.
- 59:25SPEAKER_02: Come at me.
- 59:26SPEAKER_02: I will this is a hill I will die on.
- 59:28SPEAKER_01: I just feel like it's harder to be a city of trees versus farm to fork.
- 59:32SPEAKER_02: 100%.
- 59:33SPEAKER_02: I feel like there's a lot of other cities that could claim that title.
- 59:35SPEAKER_02: That's what I am saying.
- 59:36SPEAKER_02: Like City of Trees, Sacramento has been known for the amount of trees we have, how diverse they are.
- 59:42SPEAKER_02: And how many there are.
- 59:43SPEAKER_02: And how many there are.
- 59:44SPEAKER_02: You don't realize it until you leave and go somewhere else, and then you come back and you're like, Or than Oregon.
- 59:48SPEAKER_02: There's a lot of trees here.
- 59:50SPEAKER_02: A lot of trees everywhere.
- 59:51SPEAKER_02: It's beautiful.
- 59:52SPEAKER_01: Which being in the real estate world is a pain because they are nothing but trip hazards.
- 59:58SPEAKER_01: Oh, and they wreak havoc on the sewer lesson.
- 1:00:00SPEAKER_01: And they cause issues with tenants' cars or customers' cars.
- 1:00:04SPEAKER_02: Oh, my favorite is like when we get the good storms, and then you like see the news reports of all the trees that have fallen over in downtown Sacramento and all the cars that have been crushed, and usually not people, hopefully not, thank God.
- 1:00:16SPEAKER_02: But um, yeah, I l I live for that.
- 1:00:18SPEAKER_02: I'm so petty.
- 1:00:18SPEAKER_00: I just I hate the the leaves, the dead leaves, the brown leaves in my lawn.
- 1:00:25SPEAKER_01: Get an electric blower and move.
- 1:00:27SPEAKER_00: I have one.
- 1:00:27SPEAKER_00: It's like every damn day though.
- 1:00:29SPEAKER_00: Like what kind of trees do you have?
- 1:00:30SPEAKER_01: That's what fall is.
- 1:00:31SPEAKER_00: Um so the neighborhood that I live in is called Black Oak.
- 1:00:35SPEAKER_00: So we have black oaks, which are these gigantic, I mean like 12 to 18, 18 inch leaves.
- 1:00:40SPEAKER_00: Yeah, they're and they're related.
- 1:00:42SPEAKER_02: Wouldn't you rather have the big ones than the little ones though?
- 1:00:44SPEAKER_02: Those are like the tiny little thousand ones that fall over.
- 1:00:47SPEAKER_00: I I would I would love to have a city of trees and also have no leaves.
- 1:00:52SPEAKER_00: I would like to eat the city of evergreens.
- 1:00:54SPEAKER_01: Yeah, the city of evergreens.
- 1:00:56SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:00:56SPEAKER_00: I thought well, I think being from Halfoom Bay, like we had eucalyptus that didn't, you know, so we did have a little more evergreen style trees.
- 1:01:03SPEAKER_00: But anyways, I mean, not to again, not to be a downer, but wow.
- 1:01:07SPEAKER_02: I never knew this side of you.
- 1:01:09SPEAKER_02: You're gonna be like the oldest.
- 1:01:10SPEAKER_00: Suburban dad, very proud of my lawn.
- 1:01:13SPEAKER_00: Um it is lush right now.
- 1:01:16SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:01:17SPEAKER_00: No, no, not that.
- 1:01:18SPEAKER_00: Uh, because my wife and kids love to point out like when I miss a spot.
- 1:01:22SPEAKER_02: Oh, does it just drive you crazy?
- 1:01:24SPEAKER_00: It doesn't drive me crazy.
- 1:01:26SPEAKER_00: It drives them crazy.
- 1:01:27SPEAKER_02: My uncle, fun fact, I just realized he is the same type of person as you are.
- 1:01:32SPEAKER_02: And like we went out to his backyard and he does like the crisscross pattern, so it looks like check checkerboard.
- 1:01:38SPEAKER_02: Like it was perfect grass.
- 1:01:41SPEAKER_00: He is to be commended.
- 1:01:43SPEAKER_02: I he did.
- 1:01:43SPEAKER_02: I was impressed.
- 1:01:45SPEAKER_02: There was 15 people inside who couldn't be bothered with it, and I was just I was outside by myself standing on this grass, and I was like, you guys, you might not want to stand on it, but he will engage in that conversation.
- 1:01:56SPEAKER_02: He let me he let me send up.
- 1:01:58SPEAKER_02: They actually ended up bringing everybody outside and setting up the volleyball nets because I kept being like, You guys, have you walked on this grass?
- 1:02:04SPEAKER_02: Like, it's the nicest grass I've ever been on.
- 1:02:06SPEAKER_02: Like, so good.
- 1:02:07SPEAKER_03: Yep.
- 1:02:08SPEAKER_03: Yep, yep.
- 1:02:09SPEAKER_02: Didn't realize it was a thing.
- 1:02:10SPEAKER_02: It's a whole thing.
- 1:02:10SPEAKER_02: So I'd love to see your grass.
- 1:02:12SPEAKER_00: One of these days.
- 1:02:13SPEAKER_00: One of these days.
- 1:02:14SPEAKER_02: Out of context.
- 1:02:14SPEAKER_01: That could be.
- 1:02:15SPEAKER_00: Well, we we have we have we have come up on an hour, and and I want to be respectful for your time.
- 1:02:20SPEAKER_00: We're so appreciative of you joining us in the shoot for open the gate podcast.
- 1:02:25SPEAKER_00: It did go fast.
- 1:02:26SPEAKER_00: Uh we wrap up every one of our conversations with this question to hopefully provide a little more insight to who you are and why you're why you're her.
- 1:02:34SPEAKER_00: Um, if you could be anybody for a day, who would it be?
- 1:02:37SPEAKER_00: And what would you do?
- 1:02:38SPEAKER_00: So you would be you would be your husband.
- 1:02:40SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 1:02:41SPEAKER_00: And what would you do?
- 1:02:41SPEAKER_00: Take yourself out to a nice, take your wife out on a beautiful date.
- 1:02:44SPEAKER_01: Dude, I don't know.
- 1:02:45SPEAKER_01: That's why I'm like, he, yeah, he's just such an anomaly.
- 1:02:48SPEAKER_01: Like what went through his head would just be incredible to be like, oh.
- 1:02:53SPEAKER_01: So you would just be like an ordinary day doing his rounds, yeah, just like why the um the voicemails that he would leave, myself and uh everybody that he either did business with and or had personal relationships with, like, they're insane.
- 1:03:08SPEAKER_01: Like people will still send me ones, and I'm like, I can't say them publicly because it's not PC.
- 1:03:15SPEAKER_01: But um, yeah, no, he and I'm like, oh, and then you talk to him about you know closing a million dollar deal.
- 1:03:20SPEAKER_01: Like what?
- 1:03:22SPEAKER_01: How does that so I would like to be it's like or be in the head of a dog.
- 1:03:27SPEAKER_01: Yeah, or a cat, or of a kid, right?
- 1:03:29SPEAKER_00: Like if we if we could, we would love for you to have your husband back in the house.
- 1:03:32SPEAKER_00: Me too.
- 1:03:33SPEAKER_00: But yeah, thanks.
- 1:03:34SPEAKER_00: Yeah, absolutely.
- 1:03:35SPEAKER_00: With that, Drake.
- 1:03:36SPEAKER_00: Thank you for being with us so much for joining us.
- 1:03:44SPEAKER_03: All right, all right, okay, all right, okay, all right, okay.
