Transcript
- 0:01Speaker 1: Miami has the Dolphins, the greatest football team.
- 0:04Speaker 1: We take the ball from goal to goal like no one's ever seen.
- 0:08Speaker 1: We're in the air, we're on the ground, we're always in control and when you say Miami, you're talking so football, cause we're the Miami Dolphins, miami Dolphins, miami Dolphins number one.
- 0:22Speaker 1: Yes, river Miami Dolphins, miami Dolphins, miami Dolphins number one.
- 0:31Speaker 2: All right, dolphins are number one in the AFC East.
- 0:34Speaker 2: Got our Miami contributor, justin, with us.
- 0:38Speaker 2: Celebrate again Tua, tua and oh.
- 0:44Speaker 3: Tua and oh this week or this season, and five and oh against Pellecek in his career.
- 0:50Speaker 2: Yeah, it's incredible.
- 0:53Speaker 3: It really is, man.
- 0:54Speaker 3: I mean, it really is dude and like if you watched the game last night, they even pointed it out on the broadcast that Pellecek went with like I've never seen a defense like this before.
- 1:09Speaker 3: He was running three, three high safeties to prevent the deep ball, and so all we did was turn around, handed to Mostert.
- 1:19Speaker 3: Mostert ended up with a buck 20 and two touchdowns.
- 1:22Speaker 2: Yep 18 carries, 121 yards and a couple touchdowns for him.
- 1:25Speaker 2: You saw the track draft pick that they got out there a couple of times.
- 1:31Speaker 2: He got a couple of nice catches.
- 1:33Speaker 3: Yeah, my boy Shane, yeah, and the only reason he actually got any play in time was cause, ah, ahmed got banged up.
- 1:41Speaker 2: Well, when you have a team full of speed guys, they're going to get injured.
- 1:45Speaker 2: So you got to be ready.
- 1:48Speaker 3: Yeah, no, and actually they brought up on the broadcast.
- 1:52Speaker 3: They showed everybody's 40 times and we're bringing up, like you know who's the fastest or whatever, and apparently a chains got the fastest 100 meter.
- 2:02Speaker 2: Well, what's got you excited most on about the Dolphin start so far?
- 2:07Speaker 3: It's got to be the diversity of the offense, because I didn't have a lot of faith in the running game based on, you know, last season and I just don't have that faith in much of the dolphins doing much of anything for the past 25 years.
- 2:24Speaker 3: But but um, yeah, no, that was one thing.
- 2:28Speaker 3: When they like the on the fly adjustments McDaniel made, as you, when we come out there and they're taking away our deep ball, he's like all right, we're going to run eight yard slants all day long, and if y'all creep up on that, then we'll go deep, which they never did, yeah.
- 2:43Speaker 3: But but being able to go from 466 yards passing to like barely 200 yards passing yeah, both wins on the road to open up the season is super impressive.
- 2:57Speaker 2: It was.
- 2:57Speaker 2: I mean, you don't ever complain to go out of when you get to New England and get the win.
- 3:04Speaker 3: And uh and on the road in the NFL, man, it is really hard to win on the road, especially when you're facing quality teams.
- 3:12Speaker 2: Yeah, primetime game in New England.
- 3:14Speaker 2: They saw it came down right to the end though lateral to the linemen right in the last play and the good special teams play to when they block the running, the guy running in full speed for the field goal block.
- 3:34Speaker 3: Oh, that was such a cool play.
- 3:36Speaker 2: I didn't know what was going on on that.
- 3:38Speaker 3: I just saw a guy running in from the like.
- 3:39Speaker 3: I thought he was running in from the sidelines.
- 3:42Speaker 2: Yeah and uh.
- 3:42Speaker 2: Well, he did it again on the late kick in the game and that would have iced the game.
- 3:47Speaker 2: But uh, it was wide to the left, maybe because he was distracted by that guy running in.
- 3:52Speaker 2: That was a pretty cool play.
- 3:54Speaker 2: I know it was on the Patriots, though Screw those guys.
- 3:58Speaker 3: It almost makes you wonder why nobody's thought of that before.
- 4:01Speaker 2: Well, you'll see it now.
- 4:03Speaker 3: Everybody's going to have a gunner coming from the side now.
- 4:06Speaker 3: And, uh, one thing I did like about that is um, they and they brought it up um was the uh, what's the guy?
- 4:13Speaker 3: Slater?
- 4:14Speaker 3: The uh, the all world special teamer that's been with the Patriots forever and ever and ever.
- 4:18Speaker 3: He's like coaching this kid, that kid up specifically on special teams.
- 4:22Speaker 3: And I think Slater was the one that came up with the idea of running him in off the edge like that, getting a running start.
- 4:29Speaker 3: I mean, like my God, he could have.
- 4:31Speaker 3: He could have gone up there and just grabbed the ball from the holder.
- 4:33Speaker 3: He was there so so quick, off the off the snap.
- 4:37Speaker 2: Yeah Well, it was good to see the run defense step up after it was gashed in week one by the Chargers.
- 4:43Speaker 2: They, they really showed, showed up.
- 4:47Speaker 2: That's New England strength and they, uh, they, were able to shut that running game down.
- 4:52Speaker 3: And that was with it, without Jalen Phillips and Bradley.
- 4:57Speaker 3: Chubb finally showed up.
- 4:58Speaker 3: Man, this is the first time I've actually noticed Chubb on the field Since we've signed him, since we traded for him last year.
- 5:04Speaker 3: Man, he forced that fumble early in the first half when the Patriots were moving the ball, got a sack, like he was actually starting to earn that hundred and whatever million dollars we gave him.
- 5:14Speaker 3: Yeah, well, you can win without Tyree kill.
- 5:19Speaker 3: I like to being able to watch that game and neither Tyree kill nor Jalen Waddle dominated the game and I've got 40 yards and a touchdown for Hill.
- 5:29Speaker 2: Waddle had four for 86.
- 5:32Speaker 3: Yeah, that's not what you expect from those two guys.
- 5:34Speaker 3: I mean, those two guys had over 3,000 yards combined last season.
- 5:38Speaker 2: Well, that's what Bella check was gonna do.
- 5:39Speaker 2: He's gonna take away that.
- 5:40Speaker 2: He's gonna take away your best thing.
- 5:43Speaker 2: And they were able to counter with the run game two touchdowns from Moser off that inside zone and I mean, that's what you want to put on film, that you can beat teams multiple ways to looks Good.
- 6:00Speaker 2: I still look strong.
- 6:02Speaker 2: It's good to see him stay healthy.
- 6:03Speaker 2: He just needs to stay healthy.
- 6:04Speaker 2: Oh.
- 6:05Speaker 3: Yeah, there was one point early in the game, one of the first like maybe first or second drive that he he scrambled out of the pocket and then ran for like four yards and then, just you know, hit the ground real fast and as soon as he got out of the pocket and I could just feel like the breath like coming out of my chest, oh my god.
- 6:23Speaker 3: And then he didn't get concussed, he did.
- 6:28Speaker 3: He did a good jiu-jitsu fall.
- 6:30Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 6:33Speaker 3: And as long as we can stay healthy, man, I mean I, honestly, I I haven't seen a team better than the dolphins.
- 6:41Speaker 2: Well, it's week two.
- 6:42Speaker 3: Hey man, I'm gonna take it when I can get it yeah it's the best two weeks I've had as a dolphins fan since marino.
- 6:48Speaker 2: Yeah, that's true.
- 6:51Speaker 3: So I'm gonna take my victory lap.
- 6:52Speaker 3: We're the best team in the football right now.
- 6:55Speaker 2: Tied for the lead.
- 6:59Speaker 3: And we got up on the Patriots in the division.
- 7:01Speaker 3: Yeah, the jets are gonna.
- 7:04Speaker 3: I think the jets are done.
- 7:05Speaker 3: Bills had a nice bounce back, so I mean it's gonna.
- 7:10Speaker 3: I think it's gonna come down like it did last year between the, the bills and the dolphins and those are gonna be some killer games later in the season.
- 7:18Speaker 3: Watching Josh Allen go against to.
- 7:20Speaker 2: Yeah, well, you saw last year just when you lost him.
- 7:24Speaker 2: It was a different team, but Hopefully he can stay healthy.
- 7:28Speaker 2: Hopefully the defense can stay healthy.
- 7:32Speaker 3: Yeah, Phillips is supposed to be back this week and then and God man, I mean mentioned we still don't have Jalen Ramsey playing.
- 7:39Speaker 3: How good is that defense gonna look, with Ramsey on the other side of Howard and not freakin Eli Apple?
- 7:45Speaker 3: He was like my god, that guy suck.
- 7:48Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:51Speaker 3: Users getting beat left and right, missing tackles.
- 7:54Speaker 3: I mean, I don't know, that guy still has a job man.
- 7:57Speaker 3: Yeah well, I guess he has a job because Jalen Ramsey, sir.
- 8:02Speaker 3: As soon as Jalen Ramsey is healthy, I can't imagine Eli Apple sees the field much.
- 8:08Speaker 2: I right, hey, uh, so what else?
- 8:15Speaker 2: What else?
- 8:16Speaker 2: Um, just happy about being a dolphins fan.
- 8:19Speaker 2: They did shut down the passing game, but they were able to run.
- 8:24Speaker 2: It got a little close at the end there yeah, it did.
- 8:30Speaker 3: You don't I mean the NFL you don't really expect a lot of blowouts, especially at division rivals.
- 8:35Speaker 3: Yeah, you know Bella check.
- 8:37Speaker 3: I mean God, it's crazy to say like Bellachic knows these dolphins but yet he has not been able to beat Mike McDaniel, right?
- 8:44Speaker 3: I mean is like I was texting with a buddy today and he's pretty convinced that Bella checks can retire at the end of the year.
- 8:52Speaker 3: I'm like please do, please do get the hell out of my division to a better man.
- 8:59Speaker 2: I kind of want him to hang around now with this new street yeah, yeah, I guess you're right.
- 9:05Speaker 3: Well, maybe they could just have his son take over the head coaching job.
- 9:08Speaker 3: We can just keep running it up on him.
- 9:11Speaker 3: Yeah, that would be cool yeah, because it's looking more and more like it was Brady that made Bella check and not the other way around yeah, well.
- 9:21Speaker 3: Bellachic flopped in Cleveland first.
- 9:24Speaker 2: In his first stand you got the first one based on yeah, by gate yeah and and yeah, yeah.
- 9:31Speaker 3: Well, I guess by gate did give him that great defensive scheme against the greatest show on turf maybe without exactly what plays there doing.
- 9:38Speaker 2: He knew he's great coach funny, how that works yeah, when he knows exactly your script.
- 9:45Speaker 2: Are you gonna go?
- 9:49Speaker 3: and then nobody knows what Mike McDaniel is gonna do right now at this point he's got every, every defensive trainer on their heels with.
- 9:57Speaker 3: With the way he's calling this offense man it is, it is really fun to watch.
- 10:01Speaker 3: I mean, like I, I feel like we're gonna score every drive well, that's what, that's what they try to do.
- 10:11Speaker 2: They have that potential.
- 10:13Speaker 2: Well, I think teams are gonna try to mirror this, though they're gonna try to keep things.
- 10:20Speaker 2: You can't have Tyra Kale going off.
- 10:24Speaker 3: If you're gonna, if you have a chance yeah, if you have any chance at winning, you're gonna have to kind of do what the Patriots did last night.
- 10:32Speaker 3: But I don't know if I don't know how many teams out there have the, the coaching wherewithal on defense to actually pull it off.
- 10:42Speaker 3: Yeah, or it's an L.
- 10:44Speaker 3: I mean you, you can't stop the run when you've got one linebacker and three down line and everybody else in the secondary and we also still missing Torron Armstead on the offensive line.
- 10:55Speaker 3: So we were down our best offensive lineman and down our best defensive line, still went to Foxborough and took down the Patriots and pretty much dominated the game yeah, I had no more Rodgers in the division.
- 11:09Speaker 2: Yeah, nice for us dolphins man.
- 11:11Speaker 2: Velichick looks like he might be looking good for my Super Bowl prediction to add Cowboys, dolphins yeah, the Cowboys look really good too.
- 11:22Speaker 2: But that defense now that is two teams that have a history of getting people excited and not doing a damn thing.
- 11:31Speaker 2: So I'm not getting too excited here, but enjoy it while you can, right, I guess, and we'll do it again next week, hopefully 3 and 0 for the dolphins, and we'll talk to you next time right here on the North Shore Sports Network.
