- 0:01It's Wednesday morning at eight thirty nine and taking your calls to keep you smiling

- 0:14warm welcome. How are you good, sir? I was going to add
- 0:17and a runner up for Times Person of the Year Tim O'Brien as well.
- 0:21I'm doing all, my friend. I am doing well, and we are
- 0:28in the festive, happy holidays season and I think everybody is h is ready
- 0:33to spend time with family and friends, and of course I know we are
- 0:36also on the precipice of a new year, which I think a lot of
- 0:39people say it's time to take some stock on where we are both personally,
- 0:44professionally and we are a lifestyle. So we're gonna have a great conversation and
- 0:47we'll touch on some of those things. And of course the important things to
- 0:50keep in mind this morning is we talk with Tim O'Brien one. The phone
- 0:53lines are open. Love to have you join us this morning. Get a
- 0:55question, Get you on the air six eight three two thirteen ten. That's
- 0:58six eight three two one thirteen ten. Gets chat with a wellness consultant.
- 1:02Online it finds your Healthy Place dot com. That's find your Healthy Place dot
- 1:06com. Even better, do it in person. Stop on NCUM today right
- 1:10at the west side of Madison, Fitchburg or sun Prairie locations of the Healthy
- 1:12Place or again, phone lines are open for you. If you've got a
- 1:15question for Tim, all you gotta do is pick up and dial six oh
- 1:18eight three two one thirteen ten. That's six oh eight three two one thirteen
- 1:22ten. And Tim, when folks call in this morning, now, I
- 1:23only gonna get some great advice, some great conversation. You're gonna reward them
- 1:27for that great call, aren't you. Oh yes, sir, twenty five
- 1:30dollars gift card, just as a small thank you for calling in. It
- 1:33helps my show and it helps other people listening. Now is the time gets
- 1:37you on the air six oh eight three two one thirteen ten. That's six
- 1:40oh eight three two one thirteen ten. Before we get to the phone calls
- 1:44and before we get to the emails. Real Quick talked about this time of
- 1:47year, and I think, as we're into the month of December, last
- 1:49few weeks of twenty twenty three, it is an important time. And whether
- 1:55it's whether it's for the new year or whatever it is, it's always important
- 1:57time to kind of take assessment of your health. Do you see more people
- 2:00coming into the healthy places time you're saying, you know what, I want
- 2:04to make some changes for the better. Yeah, I love what you're saying.
- 2:07I like to visualize a ship, you know that that doesn't have any
- 2:10sort of guidance system, like old school seventeen hundreds, Like these captains when
- 2:15they're going across a large body of water, they'd have to like look up
- 2:20to the stars and find maybe the north star or find a star that can
- 2:24guide them, and so every single night they'd correct their rudder. So I
- 2:29love like a daily reset. So I mean that's like optimal, but personally,
- 2:34you know, I love a yearly like an annual reset where once a
- 2:37year and every year, dude, I'm like, hey, I was a
- 2:40little bit off track from where I want to be going, where I want
- 2:44to be, who I want to be, And you ask those honest questions
- 2:47of like you know, am I and where am I going? And what
- 2:52do I want to do? And what about the loved ones around me?
- 2:54How does those choices impact them? And so just on an annual basis,
- 2:58I love the idea of asking those questions and like doing a course correction each
- 3:04year. And so to answer your question, absolutely people are thinking that way
- 3:07this time of the year. They start to go, my goodness, twenty
- 3:09twenty three is over. I am another year older, like like what is
- 3:15in next year twenty twenty four? Like the world is my oyster, so
- 3:19to speak, And I can make decisions and commitments. So I challenge you,
- 3:23if you're listening right now, make a decision, even if it's a
- 3:25small one that can fan the flame of your health. You know's there's like
- 3:30a little flicker of a flame on a candle that can be can be blown
- 3:35out. So you don't want to do something more than then you just revert
- 3:38back to what you were doing. But just these small incremental choices, you
- 3:43know, it could be could be walking, it could be meditating, it
- 3:46could be a multi vitamin, like in the area of your health. Think
- 3:50about that this January, this New Year's resolution, Like, what's one small
- 3:53thing you can do that you can actually hold the ground on and move your
- 3:57health forward. So I challenge you, and we're at the Healthy Place,
- 4:00super happy to try to inspire you and educate and guide your experience. And
- 4:04if you're battling a condition like this is a special challenge. It's one thing
- 4:09if you want a better quality of life, more energy or stress, a
- 4:11little less anxiety, better sleep. But then there's another group of people,
- 4:14Sean, that are like suffering, like straight up chronic pain depression PTSD,
- 4:20digestive disorders, the list goes on. And if you're suffering, I would
- 4:24challenge you to just ask the healthy place, Just ask one of our wellness
- 4:29consultants for some information on specific condition, and then you can have that in
- 4:33your back pocket. Because we are really good and we keep getting better each
- 4:36year. I'm very proud of our army of wellness consultants. We work like
- 4:40a hive to educate each other, to educate our community, to be reaching
- 4:44out to those experts around the world that know more in these different areas than
- 4:48we do, and we keep adding to that knowledge base. And it's exciting
- 4:53because if you have a condition, there's a natural alternative that's been working with
- 4:58that condition. It doesn't mean that that always works the first time, it
- 5:01doesn't mean that it will always work period, but often, like so often,
- 5:06Sean, we're seeing such success in these chronic condition type areas and folks
- 5:12tend to be surprised, and if they're in our industry for a while,
- 5:15it's a little bit different. They're sort of like aware of nutraceuticals and medicinals
- 5:19that have these powerful attributes, but so much of our community is trying these
- 5:24things to treat these conditions for the first time in their lives, and they
- 5:28hadn't heard of them from their medical doctor, maybe from their pharmacists, so
- 5:31it's just been out of sight, out of mind. So they come into
- 5:34the healthy place, they're like, hey, I have this condition. I've
- 5:36heard you guys are pretty good at like finding or recommending natural alternatives that are
- 5:41helpful, and you know, let's try it. And then they come back
- 5:44three weeks later and they sort of have this look in their eyes, and
- 5:46it's my favorite looks because it's kind of like, you know, to be
- 5:47honest, Tim, I didn't think this would work. I tried it because
- 5:50I was sort of in a corner and it's working, Like, thank you,
- 5:54guys. And that's been our testimony again and again and again for going
- 5:57on almost you know, fourteen years now. You Know, one of the
- 6:00things I love too is is you use that word impact as a verb and
- 6:02you and you use that, and I think sometimes people don't always think about
- 6:08what kind of impact these these lifestyle changes can have and how it how it
- 6:13cannot just impact the individual, but the people that they care about and the
- 6:16people around them. Is is having better health, having having better energy,
- 6:21having all of these things not only are they great for the person, not
- 6:25only the great for you, but your family, your friends, your productivity,
- 6:29all of these things. And imprisonment, Well that's what I get excited
- 6:31about, you know. I think I've shared my story before as a youngster
- 6:34sort of like coming at this crossroads in life, and do I want to
- 6:38keep going down this sort of like dark path of of misbehavior and irresponsible and
- 6:44not caring or should I go down this path of sort of like like life
- 6:47is a gift, and uh, you know, health is a gift,
- 6:50and you can make an impact and you can change lives, and so I
- 6:53change. I chose like that positive route some years ago. And one thing
- 6:57that struck me so so hard at the time, well maybe some years after,
- 7:01is seeing the effect of my health choice affecting those around me and then
- 7:08seeing their lives change to some degree because of that, and then considering the
- 7:14people they know and how their lives were impacted. And it's this ripple effect,
- 7:18this butter butterfly effect that's real. Like we all know a thousand people,
- 7:23and those thousand people know a thousand people, so we're two people away
- 7:26from a billion. Like each one of us has the ability to cause significant
- 7:30change in our areas of influence and beyond. Talking this morning with Tim O'Brien
- 7:34from The Healthy Place. Got a question for Tim, love to have you
- 7:38join us this morning, whether it's something for you or somebody you care about.
- 7:41Great opportunity to start that conversation. All I got to just pick up
- 7:43phone gifts call six oh eight three two one thirteen ten. That's six oh
- 7:46eight three two one thirteen ten, gets you right on the air with Tim
- 7:50O'Brien from the Healthy Place. Don't forget about the website, find You're a
- 7:54Healthy Place dot com. That's fine, your Healthy Place dot com. Three
- 7:57locations west end of Madison, Fitzburgen's Sun and again phone lines are open as
- 8:01well. I said, by the way earlier verb impact now and impact although
- 8:05the verb you know, it's kind of well, impact you in the gun
- 8:09if you need it. All that. We've also got some great emails as
- 8:15well this morning. If you ever have a question, can email contact Tim
- 8:18at find your Healthy Place dot com. That's Tim t I m at find
- 8:22your Healthy Place dot com. And Jordan writes in Jordan says, what are
- 8:26your suggestions for managing joint stiffness and UH and discomfort caused by osteoarthritis? There
- 8:35we go, I can I can read this morning to great question, my
- 8:39friend. Oste Arthritis is a degenerative joint disease and it's like the tissues in
- 8:46the joint breakdown over time, and it's common UH type of arthritis overall.
- 8:50It's it's more common in elder folks. And there are natural remedies that are
- 8:56you know, really helping in this area. So pro probably the number one
- 9:01selling product for this exact issue that we sell. There's a bunch of good
- 9:05ones out there. Joint Jive is one of the better ones I have worked
- 9:09with by Lively Vitamin co. It has a robust list. So the serving
- 9:13size is a four capsule serving, so it's robust. You know, you
- 9:16take four capsules once per day and it is loaded with your top goodies.
- 9:22So from a stiffness standpoint, you know, folks tend to experience that like
- 9:30after they've been resting for a little while, or maybe when they're first waking
- 9:33up in the morning and it is tough to even move at all. You
- 9:37know, you can have a period of inactivity where you're like, dang,
- 9:39I can't move. That's how intense it can get. So bringing lubricating compounds
- 9:45into the system that lubricate the body, that lubricate the joints, the muscles,
- 9:50the ligaments, the tendons, that is a good idea. So hyaluronic
- 9:56acid is in joint give for example. It's a required component of collagen,
- 10:00cartilage and joint fluid. So it helps nourish the shock absorbing sort of like
- 10:03cushions in your spine and joints and lubricates them for that flexibility, mobility,
- 10:09elasticity, and reduces pain. Bosuilia is in joint jive. It stops pain.
- 10:15Like people feel a difference on joint give in the first forty five minutes
- 10:18because of some of these anti inflammatories and inflammation. You know, it damages
- 10:24and wears a way at your cartilage and bone and joints, so you want
- 10:28to keep that inflammation down. Kercumin is in there as well, which is
- 10:31another anti inflammatory collagen it so it's a very packed out formula. I'd encourage
- 10:37joint Jive for you listening if you're battling osteoarthritis, and I'd encourage a second
- 10:41product called Kira Relief. And Kira Relief is more of like a stop pain
- 10:46now formula, whereas joint Jive is a little bit more of a flexibility,
- 10:50mobility ousticity, sort of like a foundational supplement. So those two together have
- 10:56been knocking it out of the park when it comes to osteoarthritis. And if
- 10:58you're listening and you have a loved one that has oster arthritis, or maybe
- 11:01you do, and you're like, what did he just say? Shoot me
- 11:05an email? All you got to remember is Tim and our website find your
- 11:07Healthyplace dot com. So our my web my email is Tim at find your
- 11:11Healthy Place dot com. You can shoot me an email, send you back
- 11:15the links, and whether you get something from our company or another's, I
- 11:18just want to encourage you if you're listening, you don't have to live in
- 11:22that constant pain, stiffness, inflammatory state. There's natural alternatives that are working
- 11:26every day. Great email this morning, Jordan. As Tim mentioned, you
- 11:30two can be like Jordan. Now I gotta do is email Tim at find
- 11:31your Healthy Place dot com. That's Tim at find your Healthy Place dot com.
- 11:35Even better, love to get your call this morning six oh eight three
- 11:37two one thirteen ten. That's six h eight three two one thirteen ten gets

- 12:09with timnext as ask the experts with the Healthy Place continues right here on thirteen
- 12:13ten wu ib a, kay, touch this, Okay touch this eight fifty
- 12:24thirteen ten wui b a and ask the experts. Hanging out with our good
- 12:28friend Tim Obrian. Tim comes to us from the healthy Place online, find
- 12:31your Healthy Place dot com. Let's find your Healthy Place dot com. Three
- 12:37locations wellness consultants all there standing by to help you start that journey west side
- 12:41of Madison, Fitchburg or sun Prairie. You can also chat with the Weillms
- 12:45consultant online, order online and learn more at finds your Healthy Place dot com.
- 12:48Let's find your Healthy Place dot com phone lines they are open as well
- 12:52right now six oh eight three two one thirteen ten. That's six oh eight
- 12:56three two one thirteen ten. While you're talking and answering Jordan's question about osteoarthritis
- 13:03and talking about stiffness, I see all my neighbors and occasionally me bend it
- 13:07down to pick up all those boxes pile up on their front stoop. This
- 13:11time a year, with the holidays and Christmas coming right up. What a
- 13:15great way to really show appreciation for the people in your life. Get them
- 13:20a gift card, start them on that journey. As we were talking in
- 13:22that earlier segment just about one of the words I love that you use is
- 13:26impact. What a great way to have an impact folks around you, Then
- 13:30helping them start that journey by getting them a gift card and you guys have
- 13:33them available. I love the idea of a gift, either in the form
- 13:35of a gift card or an actual product. So it's funny. Some people
- 13:39will be given a gift card and that's what it takes to get them going.
- 13:43And others, though, will get a gift card and it'll sit in
- 13:46their car for like fourteen years and they'll be like, oh yeah, So
- 13:50either way, getting the gift for somebody helping them just take it. Like
- 13:56if it's osteoarthritis, like you're chatting about, just buy a joint jive for
- 13:58Christmas, give it to them, get some literature in there. And it's
- 14:01interesting. The it's it's cliche now, but the gift of health, like
- 14:07it means something to people in a different way because you're not just caring about
- 14:11like what excites them in life. You're caring about like their actual life itself.
- 14:15And so it's very meaningful and it's powerful to somebody and it impacts them
- 14:18in sort of like a way that's beyond a new Nintendo or something like that.
- 14:24So I do I love that. Yeah, we have gift cards on
- 14:26our website in our stores. Certainly that's a great idea. And then if
- 14:28you have somebody that you think could use a little bit more direct help,
- 14:33like just buy them the product. Like come in, say what the condition
- 14:35is and what's been working for our community, will recommend it and we can
- 14:39try it out. That's a cool thing to you, a tim, as
- 14:41you illustrated, I hadn't even thought about that. Sometimes you know, you
- 14:45get that get that gift card, it's not until somebody says makes that next
- 14:48step themselves. Sometimes it's the next day. Sometimes it's a couple of years
- 14:52down the road. But what a great way to do that stuff. And
- 14:54I'm the other thing too, is I enjoy about visiting the Healthy Place and
- 14:58folks who haven't had an op ortunity to get on in whether it's the West
- 15:01Side, Fitchburg or sun Prairie. Also available online is chatting with wellness consultants.
- 15:05And this is a cool thing that you guys do at the Healthy Place
- 15:09and these these people and there's a reason why you refer to, you know,
- 15:13their wellness consultants and not salespeople. Is they're literally there to help you
- 15:18find a path towards living better. And I know your background and one of
- 15:24the things when you started the Healthy Place, you really didn't want you didn't
- 15:26want to have people out on the sales floor. Maybe, yeah, you
- 15:31know, we you know previously nothing wrong with GNC. I'm not not hating
- 15:33on them, but I was on a commission structure, and I remember the
- 15:37temptation as a nineteen year old to like sell this product because there's this two
- 15:41dollars commission on it. So then as an owner coming into the Healthy Place
- 15:45in Madison, really wanting to cause change in Madison Dane County and really impact
- 15:50people's health and life expectancy and drug consumption. And you know, I decided
- 15:54for our wellness consultants are our sales team, you know, not to incentivize
- 16:00them with commission in certain directions because it's such a personal relationship. When you
- 16:04come into our stores, you're going to be met with a wellness consultant that
- 16:07cares like we hire for integrity and passion more than we hire for knowledge and
- 16:15sales ability. Knowledge around our supplements can be trained, So we have a
- 16:19three month training program before people can consistently work with customers, and they have
- 16:23to have vendor trainings and role play with managers, and they have to watch
- 16:27videos and we have a course that they go through that we developed, which
- 16:30I'm super proud of and I think that's super cool. Beyond that, so
- 16:33when you're coming in, like you're met with a consultant that cares about you,
- 16:38Like their goal is to help you. Because the best way to impact
- 16:44our community here is to ask questions, you know, like what is bothering
- 16:48you? How long has this been an issue? How intense is the issue?
- 16:51Might be three top questions, and then you know, they walk around
- 16:56the store, grab a couple bottles and bring them back and explain them.
- 17:00And you know, one common phrase we say is, hey, there's no
- 17:03pressure to buy this now, Like we want our community to know about this
- 17:07information because knowledge is power. And if you want to take your health,
- 17:11you know by the horns, so to speak, you want to become the
- 17:15CEO of your own health, Like you need more knowledge. Like we don't
- 17:18just want to follow somebody that is smart, Like we want to collect information
- 17:23and make a decision for our health because everybody's so different. So that's what
- 17:27our wellness consultants will do. They'll come along side of you. They're on
- 17:30your side, looking at the problem, saying, hey, here's a couple
- 17:33of things that we have been seeing help and when you're ready, you can
- 17:37give them a shot and then we give you information and it's just fun.
- 17:40Same with our chat feature on our website, Like I encourage the community use
- 17:44that chat feature, you know, submit your question whatever it is, and
- 17:47you'll have a wellness consultant respond to you, and you're not like obligated to
- 17:51buy anything. And we just want to be this resource in our community.
- 17:53I like to say all the time, you know, we're not doctors,
- 17:56we're not pharmacists. We're not pretending to be or trying to be very vocal
- 18:00about that. What we're really good at and what our expertise expertise is is
- 18:04the brands of supplements that are good, better, best, and the forms
- 18:07of ingredients within those supplements that are good, better, best. And then
- 18:11we happen to also be passionate about quality sourcing, like where's it coming from,
- 18:15how's it breaking down in your body? Because all of these questions are
- 18:18pretty important to getting you results. You know what I like too get into
- 18:22the whether it's West Side, Fitchburg or sun Prairie, and it's they're clean,
- 18:26they're comfortable, they're very welcoming and as you mentioned too, Tim,
- 18:30is it's not a it's it's it's if it's not today, let's start this
- 18:33conversation, let's start this journey. And I know you guys have a little
- 18:37area and all the stores where you've got all sorts of different piece of literature
- 18:41and different flyers and information and little booklets and things people can read and really
- 18:47educate themselves as they work that wellness consultant that can talk with them and give
- 18:51them guidance and give them help, but also give them more information to say,
- 18:53Okay, here's here's some of the research, here's some of the you
- 18:57know, here's what we're seeing. And then the other thing that I absolutely
- 19:00love is you guys have and this is the thing I absolutely love about the
- 19:04Healthy Place is there's more than one path. Is if people say, well
- 19:10I want to maybe maybe a different a different way of taking it different,
- 19:15you know all that stuff. You guys have a huge variety and people will
- 19:18be amazed. If you haven't been to the Healthy Place, get in well
- 19:22that thanks for pointing that, Thanks for pointing that out, because like that's
- 19:25one piece of feedback that I didn't see coming that that I didn't mean to
- 19:29make happen. So when when you just have a consultant team that's not incentivized
- 19:34by commission, then they come alongside the community in a different way, and
- 19:37you talk things through and you are creative together, and you check in two
- 19:42weeks later and find out this is working or it's not working, and then
- 19:47we ask more questions and so then we work together. So then what what
- 19:49the response that I didn't see coming was from the community was, you know,
- 19:53I haven't really had that many people in my life like talk to me
- 19:57this way about my health, like really seemingly care about my health, like
- 20:03like truly in action and in follow up and in conversation and relationship, because
- 20:08it turns into like, hey, hey Rocky, you know, like,
- 20:12hey, we've known you seven years here, like you have these three issues
- 20:17going on, We got those under control. We're still working on this one
- 20:18over here. And it's like this relationship over the last seven years, and
- 20:22I give Rocky high five every time I see him, and it's just it's
- 20:25pretty cool. So whether whether it's a one time thing, whether you're just
- 20:27like you know, on the website and not engage with our team, or
- 20:32whether you're coming in like that's what we want to be to our community.
- 20:34And then over the last few years, making sure our price wasn't and our
- 20:38prices wasn't a hurdle for people finding their healthy place. So we made sure
- 20:44everything we sell two hundred brands and all of those are better than you could
- 20:48find online or equal to, equal to or better was the goal. And
- 20:52so yeah, thank you. It's a great experience. And again it's a
- 20:56great day to get into the healthy place. Start that voyage, start that
- 21:00journey, start that conversation to be living better. All you do is get
- 21:03on in, whether it's Westside, Fitchburg or sun Prairie. And again you
- 21:06can also chat right online find your Healthy Place dot com. Order there as
