- 0:01Speaker 1: Hi Amber, Hilalah, Welcome to an Unlikely Affair.
- 0:09Speaker 2: Good morning everybody. Welcome to another episode of an Unlikely Affair.
- 0:13Speaker 3: Hi Loala, Oh Puffy Puffy first, Hello Amber.
- 0:19Speaker 2: Wow, I'm excited for this one. Oh man, I am
- 0:22Speaker 2: so stoked. Guys.
- 0:24Speaker 3: Today we have Jill Winterstein on the podcast and if
- 0:27Speaker 3: you don't know her, you're going to and you will
- 0:31Speaker 3: thank us later. She is someone who has helped millions
- 0:34Speaker 3: of people reconnect with themselves through astrology. And it's not
- 0:39Speaker 3: like a psychic where she predicts the future, but she
- 0:42Speaker 3: has tools to help you with your healing, your self awareness,
- 0:46Speaker 3: and really just your spiritual growth. She is the founder
- 0:51Speaker 3: of an amazing company and brand called Spirit Daughter. She's
- 0:54Speaker 3: a best selling author and a spiritual teacher who has
- 0:57Speaker 3: built an incredible community by making astrology just feel not
- 1:03Speaker 3: like woo woo crazy stuff, it's like deeply human and
- 1:07Speaker 3: I'm so excited.
- 1:08Speaker 2: She's going to read your chart, your natal chart, in
- 1:11Speaker 2: my natal chart.
- 1:11Speaker 1: So oh, because we're doing a podcast swap today, right.
- 1:14Speaker 2: Oh yes, that's right. Thank you for doing a swap.
- 1:18Speaker 3: I love a good swap. All right, let's bring her in, Jill.
- 1:20Speaker 3: I'm so excited to have you on the podcast. I
- 1:23Speaker 3: have been following you on Instagram and like, you're my
- 1:27Speaker 3: daily dose of spiritual astrology and I've become a little obsessed.
- 1:33Speaker 3: But first I want to ask you something. You were
- 1:36Speaker 3: a neuroscientist before.
- 1:38Speaker 4: Ah, that's my my background's in. Yeah, that's what I studied.
- 1:42Speaker 4: I was a norwege and a next researcher. Like this
- 1:44Speaker 4: is like over twenty years ago, so it's like a
- 1:50Speaker 4: previous lifetime at this point, and then I did a
- 1:52Speaker 4: whole bunch of other crazy stuff in between, you know
- 1:56Speaker 4: that and this.
- 1:58Speaker 2: I mean, that is so incredible to me.
- 2:01Speaker 1: So then what made you want to do the switch
- 2:03Speaker 1: over to astrology? And basically, I mean what you're doing.
- 2:08Speaker 1: You probably don't realize this, or maybe you do, but
- 2:10Speaker 1: like really healing people's souls.
- 2:13Speaker 4: I think I always wanted to do that in some way.
- 2:17Speaker 4: I mean, I guess thank you for that.
- 2:19Speaker 2: I like that.
- 2:20Speaker 4: I like that reframe of astrology. You know, I started
- 2:24Speaker 4: out in like I got into astrology when I was sixteen,
- 2:27Speaker 4: So I was a kid, you know, I just was
- 2:30Speaker 4: like a hippie hippie kid, and I would just go
- 2:32Speaker 4: to the woods with my crystals and my astrology books
- 2:35Speaker 4: and smoke weed and you know, vibe.
- 2:37Speaker 2: Out my girl.
- 2:39Speaker 4: Where did you grow up outside of Philadelphia? So Pennsylvania,
- 2:44Speaker 4: So I was like in the woods of PA and
- 2:46Speaker 4: like astrology wasn't cool back then. This is like nineteen
- 2:49Speaker 4: ninety six, so there was no Internet, there was no
- 2:52Speaker 4: social media, there was no spirit daughter following obviously, and
- 2:56Speaker 4: then you know, I was time to go to school,
- 2:58Speaker 4: and you know, my mom was like, you got it.
- 3:01Speaker 4: You can't go to school for astrology. I'm like, yeah,
- 3:02Speaker 4: I guess you're right. So I went to school for
- 3:04Speaker 4: psychology and then that landed me in studying neuroscience because
- 3:10Speaker 4: I was like, let's figure this out. And I really
- 3:12Speaker 4: was like on a quest to find out, like what
- 3:15Speaker 4: is human consciousness? Like why are we the way we are?
- 3:18Speaker 4: Why do we think the way we think? And that's why,
- 3:20Speaker 4: like it all kind of fit, like everything I've done
- 3:23Speaker 4: fits in that wheelhouse of like oh yeah, we're just
- 3:27Speaker 4: understanding human consciousness right through the lens of astrology, through
- 3:31Speaker 4: the lens of psychology, through the lens of neuroscience, through
- 3:34Speaker 4: the lens of Chinese medicine, aw Youurvedic medicine, like drugs,
- 3:39Speaker 4: pot LSD, like just whatever, like throw it all in there.
- 3:44Speaker 4: We're just looking at you know, human consciousness.
- 3:47Speaker 3: So do you think that Okay, So if you started
- 3:50Speaker 3: first in studying, like you know, playing with crystals and
- 3:54Speaker 3: understanding the power and where they come from, and then
- 3:58Speaker 3: going into neuroscience, do you think that that solidified? Did
- 4:02Speaker 3: that help amplify your belief in astrology?
- 4:07Speaker 4: I think so. I mean I think that I think it.
- 4:10Speaker 4: I don't have an amplify my belief, but it gives
- 4:12Speaker 4: me like an interesting perspective because I believe in astrology.
- 4:17Speaker 4: At the end of the day, though, I believe in
- 4:19Speaker 4: the power of our minds, and like our brain is
- 4:22Speaker 4: like the single most powerful tool we have, and so
- 4:26Speaker 4: if we believe it, it's real. And so when you
- 4:29Speaker 4: pair that out with something like astrology, and like a
- 4:32Speaker 4: lot of astrologers who use it as predictive or as
- 4:37Speaker 4: like doomsday or as this is the way it has
- 4:39Speaker 4: to be, I'm very much like, no, this is just
- 4:41Speaker 4: like a lens to view yourself through, and like choose
- 4:45Speaker 4: what you want and choose what works for you. And
- 4:48Speaker 4: that's why I think that's why my account's done so well,
- 4:50Speaker 4: because I put a very positive spin on like everything,
- 4:54Speaker 4: because I'm like, you know, if what we believe happens, like,
- 4:57Speaker 4: let's believe the best possible and you know, learn about
- 5:01Speaker 4: our son's signs and be like what resonates with me
- 5:04Speaker 4: from that? And what do I want to believe I'm
- 5:07Speaker 4: capable of through the lens of astrology.
- 5:11Speaker 2: I love that.
- 5:12Speaker 3: I love that because lately I don't know what's going on.
- 5:14Speaker 3: So it's I just had my birthday this past weekend.
- 5:16Speaker 4: Yes, happy birthday. I have your chart, so it's like, oh,
- 5:19Speaker 4: thank you. Oh yeah, that's right, thank you.
- 5:22Speaker 3: I have been struggling, like I've gone through some shit
- 5:25Speaker 3: in my life and I've struggled. I feel like I'm
- 5:27Speaker 3: doing it all over again. But it's now being condensed
- 5:30Speaker 3: in like three weeks. And this was prior to me
- 5:33Speaker 3: realizing it was Mercury was in retrograde?
- 5:38Speaker 1: But why why does it feel so heavy for our listeners?
- 5:43Speaker 1: Can you explain what it means? Because you see it
- 5:46Speaker 1: all over when that happens, like Mercury's in retrograde? Can
- 5:51Speaker 1: you break that down for dummies? What does that mean?
- 5:55Speaker 4: Well, Mercury first of all all planets station retrograde point
- 6:00Speaker 4: throughout the year, except for vnsmrs, they kind of usually
- 6:03Speaker 4: skip a year, but they also station retrograde, just not
- 6:06Speaker 4: every single year, so it's not specific to Mercury. Mercury
- 6:10Speaker 4: just has like a really great PR person. And I
- 6:13Speaker 4: always say this because it's just like that's all me
- 6:15Speaker 4: here about. It happens three times a year, so it
- 6:19Speaker 4: does happen often than any of the other retrogrades, and
- 6:23Speaker 4: it lasts for about three weeks. And Mercury is the
- 6:27Speaker 4: planet of communication, so it rules exchange of energy, tech education,
- 6:33Speaker 4: leaving this whole setup we're doing now, you know, we're
- 6:35Speaker 4: speaking with each other. We had appointment times, meeting times,
- 6:39Speaker 4: like that's all under Mercury's umbrella, you know, all the
- 6:42Speaker 4: tech involved, zoom, any kind of like platform. That's why
- 6:46Speaker 4: they tend to go down during Mercury retrograde. Retrograde energy
- 6:50Speaker 4: spins the energy of a planet inward, and so when
- 6:53Speaker 4: you're working with Mercury, which is a very outward facing energy,
- 6:57Speaker 4: it spins an inward and kind of like creates some
- 7:00Speaker 4: and that's why it seems like everything technological breaks down,
- 7:05Speaker 4: you know, or we miss meetings or this misunderstandings or
- 7:07Speaker 4: miscommunications or text texts, you know, you know our ex
- 7:12Speaker 4: texts us back. It's like a little tongue twister there.
- 7:17Speaker 4: So that like all you know happens during mercury retrograde
- 7:20Speaker 4: every time, and I hear about it is the is
- 7:23Speaker 4: the planet actually moving backwards?
- 7:25Speaker 3: No?
- 7:25Speaker 4: And so when you look at the sky it looks
- 7:27Speaker 4: like Mercury is moving backwards, it's actually not. It's an
- 7:31Speaker 4: optical illusion. So it's when like you know, when you're
- 7:35Speaker 4: passing a car, or like two trains are passing each
- 7:38Speaker 4: other and you're on one and just as like the
- 7:40Speaker 4: one car train like overtakes the other, there's like that
- 7:43Speaker 4: split second or it seems like it's moving backward. That's
- 7:48Speaker 4: that's the phenomenon of mercury retrograde. So it's it's an
- 7:50Speaker 4: optical illusion, and everybody kind of blames becomes this catch
- 7:56Speaker 4: all bucket where it's like anything that goes wrong, it's like, oh,
- 7:59Speaker 4: mercury grade. And so it is this like time to
- 8:02Speaker 4: kind of throw everything in that bucket. And I have
- 8:06Speaker 4: definitely seen in charting it where it's like oh yeah,
- 8:10Speaker 4: that tech issue comes up, Oh yeah, like misunderstanding and
- 8:13Speaker 4: like oh yeah, the X resurfaces from the past, like
- 8:16Speaker 4: always throwing mercy retrograde. So I think some things are like,
- 8:20Speaker 4: there's something to this, and I think other things are, oh,
- 8:24Speaker 4: we've got like something happening, Like let's just blame that.
- 8:28Speaker 3: It's hormones too. It's either mercury or it's my hormones.
- 8:32Speaker 3: That's my two options.
- 8:33Speaker 4: That's your two options, and it's probably both and they're
- 8:36Speaker 4: working together.
- 8:37Speaker 1: We just like to blame something for when we're feeling off.
- 8:42Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, And it usually is a lot deeper. There's
- 8:47Speaker 4: usually like something in your charts, Like when I do
- 8:49Speaker 4: natal chart readings, I'll usually find it. So what I
- 8:53Speaker 4: really like to look at is the current sky. So
- 8:56Speaker 4: murcury retrograde's happening now, we have some interesting things happening
- 9:00Speaker 4: with a lot of the other planets, and I look
- 9:03Speaker 4: at that and how that's hitting and affecting your chart.
- 9:07Speaker 4: So mercury retrograde this time around is happening in cancer,
- 9:11Speaker 4: and so Amber, you're gonna feel it more because it's
- 9:14Speaker 4: happening in your sun placement. Your sun sign is cancer,
- 9:18Speaker 4: and so it doesn't always happen in cancer. You know,
- 9:21Speaker 4: the next one won't be in cancer. But when mercury
- 9:24Speaker 4: retrograde happens in your sun sign or a sign that
- 9:27Speaker 4: you have a lot of placements in, say your mercury,
- 9:29Speaker 4: your venus, whatever, then you're going to feel it a
- 9:32Speaker 4: little bit more than a murcury retrograde that say happens
- 9:35Speaker 4: in like scorpio or virgo. You know, so because that
- 9:40Speaker 4: those aren't your sun signs.
- 9:42Speaker 3: Well, just like like feelings, this is gonna pass, right,
- 9:45Speaker 3: It's just not ninety seconds, it's like three weeks.
- 9:48Speaker 4: It's gonna pass. It's gonna pass. And you know, yes,
- 9:53Speaker 4: that's a perfect, perfect thing. I have that tattoo on
- 9:57Speaker 4: my arm this too, shell pass because it all my grandmother.
- 10:00Speaker 2: Used to say. I love that you have that.
- 10:03Speaker 1: Yeah, And it also goes back to what you were
- 10:05Speaker 1: saying about the mind being one of our most powerful tools.
- 10:11Speaker 1: Is you have to kind of tap into that. And
- 10:13Speaker 1: you know, there are moments where I have to remind
- 10:16Speaker 1: myself that if my mind is powerful enough to take
- 10:18Speaker 1: me to a dark place, is certainly powerful enough to
- 10:21Speaker 1: take me out of it, right, And it's really hard
- 10:24Speaker 1: to put that to use though, And I love that
- 10:28Speaker 1: you that you brought that into play. Is if we
- 10:31Speaker 1: believe it, then it's real.
- 10:33Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, I mean if we believe it, it's real.
- 10:35Speaker 4: Our brain doesn't know the difference between what we're imagining
- 10:39Speaker 4: and reality. And so this is where I love intention setting,
- 10:43Speaker 4: and that's what you know I do mainly on the
- 10:47Speaker 4: New Moons is you know what I'm known for is
- 10:49Speaker 4: setting intentions and working with visualization. And when we set intentions,
- 10:54Speaker 4: we're doing something really powerful, like not only are we
- 10:57Speaker 4: working with the new Moon energy, but we're working with
- 10:59Speaker 4: our brain. And so a lot of what I've come
- 11:02Speaker 4: to do is pair lunar manifestation, so working with the
- 11:07Speaker 4: lunar cycle to manifest and neural manifestation, which is basically
- 11:12Speaker 4: training your brain to create something in your life and
- 11:16Speaker 4: believe that you're capable of doing that.
- 11:27Speaker 3: Can you give me an example of setting intentions?
- 11:30Speaker 2: And I know that sounds like you so stupid, Amber, Yeah,
- 11:33Speaker 2: because I'm a fucking weird Okay, we're.
- 11:35Speaker 1: Going to go over them at the end of the podcast.
- 11:38Speaker 3: I am such a but honestly, like I think, sometimes
- 11:42Speaker 3: I get confused by the word intentions and if I'm
- 11:46Speaker 3: going to confuse maybe other people are. So will you
- 11:48Speaker 3: give me just one example of what setting an intention
- 11:50Speaker 3: would sound.
- 11:51Speaker 4: Like, yeah. So the way I set intentions is I'll
- 11:55Speaker 4: lead people through an exercise where they see themselves six months,
- 12:00Speaker 4: a year, five years sometimes if needed, and you know
- 12:05Speaker 4: that kind of varies by the person, but generally on
- 12:08Speaker 4: a new moon, I'll say six months to a year,
- 12:10Speaker 4: and you see yourself in a scene where what you
- 12:15Speaker 4: want has manifested. You're there and you use all of
- 12:19Speaker 4: your senses, so you know, you see the room, you
- 12:22Speaker 4: see the colors, you feel the texture of your clothes,
- 12:25Speaker 4: your pasture, how you feel emotionally. That's so key because
- 12:30Speaker 4: that sensory input to your brain is very important. And
- 12:34Speaker 4: so when you feel gratitude and you feel happiness, your
- 12:36Speaker 4: brain kind of flags that like, oh, let's confirm this,
- 12:40Speaker 4: let's make this happen. This is real, and so so
- 12:44Speaker 4: holding that vision and that's what that holding the vision is.
- 12:47Speaker 4: But you move throughout your day, for instance, you taste
- 12:50Speaker 4: your coffee, you you know people you're talking to, check
- 12:53Speaker 4: your phone, you see your bank account balance, like whatever
- 12:56Speaker 4: you're trying to manifest, right, it's in the vision. And
- 13:00Speaker 4: and then you hold that and you rehearse that over
- 13:03Speaker 4: and over again. The point is to feel the feeling
- 13:07Speaker 4: to get into the frequency. And so the vision itself
- 13:11Speaker 4: is really a container for how you want to feel
- 13:15Speaker 4: and the frequency of the vibe you want to be
- 13:17Speaker 4: at and exist at. So, if you want to be
- 13:19Speaker 4: in a frequency of abundance and you want to feel
- 13:22Speaker 4: financially stable, which you know, we get a lot like
- 13:25Speaker 4: people either want money, they want relationships, health, or you know,
- 13:30Speaker 4: they want to be thin, right, and so that's kind
- 13:33Speaker 4: of like that's our buckets of manifestation and what I
- 13:38Speaker 4: get the most questions about anyway. And so if you
- 13:40Speaker 4: want to get into that vibration of say, abundance, like
- 13:44Speaker 4: you want to feel it, what does that feel like?
- 13:46Speaker 4: Is that a certain home you live in? Is that
- 13:49Speaker 4: how you feel when you do open up a bill,
- 13:52Speaker 4: like what does that feel like? And you go through
- 13:54Speaker 4: each of the points, And it's not that you're intending
- 13:58Speaker 4: for all these detailed things to happen specifically, sometimes they do,
- 14:02Speaker 4: but what you're really intending is to feel that way, right,
- 14:07Speaker 4: to feel abundant. And so it's not necessarily like a goal.
- 14:11Speaker 4: It's different. It's not like, oh, you know, I want
- 14:14Speaker 4: the house with the bathtub, you know that looks like this,
- 14:17Speaker 4: I want the relationship that checks all these boxes, right,
- 14:21Speaker 4: it's good to have that detail, but what you're really
- 14:24Speaker 4: focused on is the feeling. So it's like the vision,
- 14:28Speaker 4: the checkboxes, like they all contribute to the feeling and
- 14:32Speaker 4: that's what you're really holding when we say hold the vision.
- 14:35Speaker 4: So we set the intention and then you hold the vision.
- 14:38Speaker 4: And so I'll actually coach people in staying with that
- 14:43Speaker 4: vision for thirty days where they're just in the vision
- 14:46Speaker 4: every day. They downregulate their nervous system, because we can't
- 14:50Speaker 4: manifest from an upregulated, dysregulated nervous system. We need to
- 14:54Speaker 4: be relaxed. And so that's great because people are often
- 14:58Speaker 4: asking me manifest like some horrible thing. I'm like, no,
- 15:02Speaker 4: because you're probably like in flight or fight when you're
- 15:06Speaker 4: thinking about that horrible thing. Right, Oh that's interesting, yeah, yeah,
- 15:11Speaker 4: And so that always makes people feel a lot better
- 15:15Speaker 4: because the power of our mind, right, our power to
- 15:17Speaker 4: manifest anything is scary, and that's one of the things
- 15:20Speaker 4: that comes up a lot.
- 15:22Speaker 2: Yeah, it's funny. That just made me think.
- 15:24Speaker 3: I remember I heard someone saying like, if you're just
- 15:27Speaker 3: having a bit, it's like sometimes it's hard to be happy,
- 15:30Speaker 3: like you were just human in some days it's like,
- 15:32Speaker 3: I'm just not happy. But they say, like if you
- 15:34Speaker 3: were to grab a pen and you put it in
- 15:35Speaker 3: your mouth and you force yourself to smile, it sends
- 15:39Speaker 3: the chemicals in your brain, yeah, that you're smiling, and
- 15:42Speaker 3: so eventually your state changes.
- 15:44Speaker 2: I don't know if you believe that or not, but
- 15:46Speaker 2: I thought that was awesome.
- 15:47Speaker 4: I do are laughing, Like if you just fake laugh
- 15:49Speaker 4: for like a minute, then you're happy. It's the same thing.
- 15:53Speaker 1: Also, skipping. Have you ever tried to skip when you're upset?
- 15:58Speaker 1: Immediately takes you to like a really like goofy and
- 16:04Speaker 1: childlike state where you can't not laugh and smile.
- 16:07Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, that's actually hysterical.
- 16:09Speaker 4: I love that. But we can't always be happy all
- 16:13Speaker 4: the time. And I don't think that's the point right
- 16:15Speaker 4: where we have a full range of emotions for a
- 16:17Speaker 4: reason and we want to explore them all. I think
- 16:20Speaker 4: what's important is to remember that they all pass and
- 16:23Speaker 4: we're not our emotions. You know, these are just things
- 16:27Speaker 4: coming in and out, feelings, vibrations, sensations that are just
- 16:31Speaker 4: they're not who we are.
- 16:35Speaker 1: And I know because when you think about it, any
- 16:38Speaker 1: time you're feeling any emotion other than like I feel
- 16:41Speaker 1: good and happy. Like the quickest thing to go to
- 16:44Speaker 1: is like how do I how do I get happy?
- 16:47Speaker 1: Or people asking what can I do to make you happy?
- 16:50Speaker 1: And there Amber and I are both in the program
- 16:54Speaker 1: of sobriety and we go through all of these steps
- 16:57Speaker 1: and do our thing. But there are moments where I'm like,
- 17:00Speaker 1: today's just a shit day, and I'm going to lean
- 17:02Speaker 1: into that, and I'm not. I don't need to try
- 17:05Speaker 1: to get back to like happy because I'm a person
- 17:08Speaker 1: and I'm affected and maybe I can't pinpoint why. But again,
- 17:11Speaker 1: Tomorrow's a new day, and this too shall pass.
- 17:14Speaker 4: Yeah, Tomorrow's a new day. And you know, there's just
- 17:17Speaker 4: a range of emotions. It's just sensations. Right at the
- 17:20Speaker 4: end of the day, there's just energy is moving through you.
- 17:23Speaker 4: And so I think as humans were so quick to
- 17:26Speaker 4: label positive or negative, I oh, I feel sad. I
- 17:29Speaker 4: shouldn't feel that way. That's bad. You know, I have
- 17:31Speaker 4: to get happy. And people around us are like, what
- 17:34Speaker 4: can I do for you to get you out of this,
- 17:36Speaker 4: and it's like, well, sometimes part of the process of
- 17:38Speaker 4: being human is just to sit with the energy of sadness.
- 17:41Speaker 4: And let it move through us and maybe it unlocks something,
- 17:44Speaker 4: Maybe it unlocks a new level of our inner knowing
- 17:47Speaker 4: or an intuition. Our intuition is felt, so you know,
- 17:51Speaker 4: it goes with all the other emotions we have to
- 17:54Speaker 4: feel it.
- 17:55Speaker 3: But that starts at a very young age if you
- 17:58Speaker 3: don't have parents that teach you that it's okay to
- 18:00Speaker 3: be upset or okay to have feelings. And that is
- 18:03Speaker 3: probably why that so many of us walk around dysregulated
- 18:07Speaker 3: or on antidepressants or whatever it is, because it's like
- 18:10Speaker 3: we have a hard time experiencing. I mean, just for
- 18:14Speaker 3: me being when I'm in a relationship, it's like when
- 18:17Speaker 3: the other person's having a bad day, I'm so quick
- 18:21Speaker 3: to take that on. And now I'm learning I could
- 18:23Speaker 3: let them have that experience and still be okay over here,
- 18:27Speaker 3: yeah right, and just be you know, of support in
- 18:30Speaker 3: whatever the way they need.
- 18:31Speaker 1: So we need to start sending our kids into the
- 18:33Speaker 1: woods with crystals. It sounds like, yeah, I know, I
- 18:37Speaker 1: had that big crystal collection before I moved to Montana.
- 18:40Speaker 3: You should have seen my crystal collection. It was massive,
- 18:43Speaker 3: and then I had to get rid of it because
- 18:44Speaker 3: I was afraid they were all going to break in
- 18:45Speaker 3: the move.
- 18:46Speaker 4: Oh no, you can move them, Jill.
- 18:49Speaker 1: I have a question because my the first thing I
- 18:52Speaker 1: asked when I start talking to a new man is
- 18:56Speaker 1: what is your what's your sign? And a lot of
- 19:00Speaker 1: people look at you like, actually, this is the biggest
- 19:03Speaker 1: one I get.
- 19:03Speaker 2: Oh no, you're one.
- 19:05Speaker 1: Of those, and I'm like, yeah, because I fucking refuse
- 19:08Speaker 1: to date in ares me too, I'm you too, I'm
- 19:13Speaker 1: a boarding mission. How accurate is the compatibility with signs?
- 19:22Speaker 2: Would you say? Because I know that there are usually three.
- 19:25Speaker 1: It's like you have your sun, your moon, and you're
- 19:27Speaker 1: rising and they all come into play, and I'm into
- 19:30Speaker 1: all of it, but let's just keep it basic. The
- 19:33Speaker 1: sun what we all came into the world as. How
- 19:36Speaker 1: accurate is that?
- 19:38Speaker 4: I think that's pretty accurate if we look at it
- 19:40Speaker 4: as like the core of who you are. So we
- 19:43Speaker 4: have the rising sign, which is how you dawn on people.
- 19:45Speaker 4: That's what's rising through you. That's like kind of what
- 19:47Speaker 4: you project outward and then and that's also what we're
- 19:51Speaker 4: learning in a lot of ways, like we're rising into
- 19:53Speaker 4: our rising sign. The sun is the core of who
- 19:56Speaker 4: we are, so it's the center of us it's what
- 19:58Speaker 4: keeps us together, and so we do want to look
- 20:01Speaker 4: at that in terms of compatibility. The moon sign I
- 20:04Speaker 4: find to be very very important with the compatibility because
- 20:07Speaker 4: the moon is our emotions. The Moon's who you are
- 20:10Speaker 4: when no one's watching. It's who you are when you're
- 20:12Speaker 4: sitting around, you know, eating ice cream, watching TV and
- 20:15Speaker 4: your pajamas on the couch. And so that's why that
- 20:18Speaker 4: can be so important for relationships because that's how we
- 20:23Speaker 4: interact with people, That's how we tell people what we
- 20:26Speaker 4: need emotionally, that's how we vibe emotionally with others.
- 20:31Speaker 3: So it's their moon sign. Sorry, just to clarify the
- 20:33Speaker 3: relaon sign, got it?
- 20:35Speaker 4: Okay, Yeah, so you want to know it all, but
- 20:38Speaker 4: like on a first can you know you might not
- 20:41Speaker 4: want to ask them their birth time and like pull
- 20:43Speaker 4: up your charting app on.
- 20:44Speaker 2: The first day.
- 20:45Speaker 4: I totally have. I obviously have call your mom. I
- 20:50Speaker 4: need I need the time.
- 20:52Speaker 3: I have done that before and clearly the relationship didn't
- 20:54Speaker 3: work out because they were like, dude, that's a red
- 20:56Speaker 3: flag for ren for it's.
- 20:57Speaker 1: A red flag that you can't ask your mom for your.
- 20:59Speaker 2: Both time and place.
- 21:00Speaker 3: Listen, I'm saving us all time. Guys, let's just be real, like,
- 21:04Speaker 3: let's just cut down to the chase. I'm not asking
- 21:06Speaker 3: for your tax returns. I'm asking for your which, by
- 21:09Speaker 3: the way, maybe I should, by the way, yeah exactly.
- 21:14Speaker 4: But yeah, So I do think that anybody can be compatible,
- 21:18Speaker 4: no matter of their signs. What the signs can show us, though,
- 21:21Speaker 4: is where the work can be. And and then it's
- 21:24Speaker 4: up to us to be like, do we want to
- 21:26Speaker 4: put in that work? Do I want to date and
- 21:29Speaker 4: areas who might only think about themselves and put themselves first?
- 21:32Speaker 4: Do I want to do that kind of work right
- 21:33Speaker 4: now in my life? You know? And so that's really
- 21:36Speaker 4: the reframe on compatibility. It's not that there's signs or
- 21:40Speaker 4: moon signs or rising signs that are not compatible. It
- 21:43Speaker 4: just depends like, Okay, do I want this kind of
- 21:45Speaker 4: growth edge? Do I want this kind of mirror in
- 21:48Speaker 4: my life? And there are certain signs that do that
- 21:51Speaker 4: for each other. And then there's certain signs that just
- 21:53Speaker 4: are very harmonious and everything's great, and you may want that,
- 21:57Speaker 4: you may not want that. Like sometimes we're in a
- 21:59Speaker 4: season of life were like no, I want my mirrors.
- 22:01Speaker 4: I want people who are going to confront me on
- 22:03Speaker 4: my bs. I want to grow here.
- 22:07Speaker 2: I think I've done enough growing. Yeah, I'm all grown out.
- 22:12Speaker 2: I'm done. Get them away from me exactly. Let's just
- 22:25Speaker 2: dive in. Let's start with law.
- 22:27Speaker 4: Okay, yeah, so Virgo. So when I look at like
- 22:32Speaker 4: for compatibility, the easiest quickest way to do it is
- 22:37Speaker 4: by element. And so if you're like, okay, I want
- 22:40Speaker 4: somebody who I'm going to get along with, you go,
- 22:42Speaker 4: I'm a Virgo. That's an Earth sign. Let me date
- 22:45Speaker 4: other Earth signs, right, so let me look at you know, Taurus, Capricorn,
- 22:50Speaker 4: other Earth signs, and so that's like sort of just
- 22:53Speaker 4: the step one, right, you can try, you can experiment with,
- 22:57Speaker 4: and then you can you want to take notes like
- 22:59Speaker 4: this is where my sign background comes in, where it's
- 23:01Speaker 4: like observe, see what it's like when you go to
- 23:03Speaker 4: dinner with the Capricorn, see what it's like when you
- 23:05Speaker 4: go with a Tarus or a Virgo. Kind of keep
- 23:09Speaker 4: that note for yourself, and then do try and find
- 23:11Speaker 4: out their moon sign and be like hmm, okay, well
- 23:14Speaker 4: the Tara's sun sign was great, but the Tar's sun
- 23:18Speaker 4: sign with the moon and Aquarius, like, well, that actually
- 23:21Speaker 4: might vibe for you because you haven't moon in Aquarius,
- 23:24Speaker 4: but you know that might not work in that configuration, right,
- 23:27Speaker 4: and with those pairings. So so it's you know, kind
- 23:31Speaker 4: of understanding where to start and then taking your own
- 23:35Speaker 4: notes and understanding like how the energies hit you and
- 23:40Speaker 4: how certain people. Because our birth charts are so complex,
- 23:43Speaker 4: there's so many placements and there's so many nuances, and
- 23:47Speaker 4: that's why like when you want to get real real
- 23:49Speaker 4: serious or real real crazy, however you want to look
- 23:52Speaker 4: at it, you like get a consultation with an astrologer
- 23:55Speaker 4: and you go, okay, put these birth charts together, and
- 23:58Speaker 4: let's look at how we're interacting, Like how are our
- 24:01Speaker 4: venuses interacting, how are our mars interacting? How are you know,
- 24:05Speaker 4: like you want the full range of all the placements?
- 24:09Speaker 1: Would you say that that is the human design? You know,
- 24:12Speaker 1: people are really into like the human design right now.
- 24:15Speaker 1: They break all of those things down.
- 24:18Speaker 4: Well, human design is different. That's like, are you talking
- 24:20Speaker 4: about like manifesting, generator and projector that. Yeah, so those
- 24:25Speaker 4: are two separat things different. Yeah, yeah, so human design
- 24:28Speaker 4: is a different system. What I'm talking about is you
- 24:30Speaker 4: actually like take your birth chart, which is a picture
- 24:33Speaker 4: of the sky when you were born, so and it
- 24:36Speaker 4: includes everything, So it includes not just your sun, your moon,
- 24:39Speaker 4: but where was Mars, where was Mercury, was mercury retrograde?
- 24:43Speaker 4: Where's your Jupiter? Right? Jupiter is currently in Leo right now,
- 24:47Speaker 4: so you know what's going on with all of your placements.
- 24:49Speaker 4: And then we're going to put the two charts together
- 24:52Speaker 4: of two people and we're going to see, like how
- 24:55Speaker 4: do they interact? Like maybe the sun signs are quote
- 24:58Speaker 4: unquote not compatible, but maybe the venuses are conjunct. Maybe
- 25:02Speaker 4: you guys both have the same moon sign, so you're
- 25:04Speaker 4: gonna understand emotionally, right, So you might find like an
- 25:09Speaker 4: aries with the moon and Aquarius, and you might be like,
- 25:11Speaker 4: that's my person Like even though they're an aries, like
- 25:14Speaker 4: our moons get along. What suggest that combo? My first
- 25:18Speaker 4: husband was that combo not great, but he.
- 25:22Speaker 1: Had his son in Like for me, sun and aries
- 25:25Speaker 1: red flag, I'm out.
- 25:26Speaker 2: Yeah, I even need to continue talking.
- 25:28Speaker 1: Yeah, I find that my sun and my rising are
- 25:34Speaker 1: in constant conflict. Okay, my moon because Virgo, I feel
- 25:39Speaker 1: like I'm very particular. I can be very grounded and logical,
- 25:43Speaker 1: but then I have my scorpio rising, so I become
- 25:48Speaker 1: very spicy. I can shoot my guard up really quickly,
- 25:52Speaker 1: which you know, and attack and sting. But then I'm
- 25:56Speaker 1: very very emotional, so all of the I'm like I
- 26:00Speaker 1: by the end of the day, I'm fucking exhausted.
- 26:03Speaker 4: Yeah. Yeah, it's like a roller coaster when you have
- 26:05Speaker 4: a lot of water, but you have a lot of
- 26:07Speaker 4: all the elements. So when you have a lot of
- 26:09Speaker 4: water and then you also have uh earth, right, you're
- 26:13Speaker 4: kind of making mud in your chart, what did I say?
- 26:16Speaker 4: And so it's always a purifying process, and it's always
- 26:22Speaker 4: the process of like the Lotus trying to come through
- 26:26Speaker 4: the mud to find the light. And so it can
- 26:29Speaker 4: be a hard journey in life when you have a
- 26:32Speaker 4: lot of earth and a lot of water, because you're
- 26:34Speaker 4: just you're mud, right in a good way. I mean
- 26:36Speaker 4: MUD's detoxicizing.
- 26:38Speaker 2: Scene with the mud, like that's what I feel.
- 26:42Speaker 4: I feel muddy, yeah, And so you just have to
- 26:46Speaker 4: like keep you know, you want that picture of the Lotus,
- 26:49Speaker 4: and you want to also understand like MUD's detoxifying. Right
- 26:51Speaker 4: when we go get like a mud bath, it's like
- 26:53Speaker 4: detoxifying for his skin and it's good and it's purifying,
- 26:58Speaker 4: and so a lot of this lifetime for you is
- 27:00Speaker 4: a purification process. And purification transformation of any kind like
- 27:06Speaker 4: is not easy. It's not easy, and so you just
- 27:09Speaker 4: have to keep kind of growing through the mud towards
- 27:12Speaker 4: towards the light.
- 27:13Speaker 2: Oh I love that, am. My rising is Pisces ices.
- 27:21Speaker 4: Yeah, I think so. I have your charts over here. Yes,
- 27:25Speaker 4: so you have a lot of water as well, and
- 27:27Speaker 4: your moon. What's your moon? I can look at your
- 27:30Speaker 4: chart Virgo virgo. Yeah, that's right. I remember being like,
- 27:34Speaker 4: oh moon and virgo, sun and Virgo. That's why these
- 27:37Speaker 4: two get along.
- 27:38Speaker 1: So we have a good chart together. Our charts matchup.
- 27:42Speaker 4: Yeah, you have a good chart because you have a
- 27:43Speaker 4: lot of overlapping placements, including like the Virgo virgo, and
- 27:48Speaker 4: so there is there is that theme and your scorpio
- 27:51Speaker 4: rising because I think I had you as cancer rising me.
- 27:55Speaker 1: Yeah, from well you're the professional. I've just typed it
- 27:58Speaker 1: into my little whatever as you have.
- 28:01Speaker 4: I'll double check the time. Sometimes the a MPM gets
- 28:05Speaker 4: switched on my notes, so I'll check that.
- 28:08Speaker 1: But let me know, because I will I'll have to
- 28:12Speaker 1: go back to mirroring and be like, now I don't
- 28:16Speaker 1: know who I am.
- 28:16Speaker 2: I got so comfortable with.
- 28:18Speaker 4: My You're like, yeah, yeah, Amber, I have used Pisces rising,
- 28:26Speaker 4: and your moon is in Virgo, yeah Virgo yeah, and
- 28:34Speaker 4: Sun you just had your birthday, so in cancer So yeah,
- 28:38Speaker 4: that's a little you know again, we've got some mud here, right,
- 28:42Speaker 4: We've got water, we've got earth.
- 28:44Speaker 2: We are so in sync amber. We're just two muddy
- 28:47Speaker 2: bitches trying to find the light.
- 28:51Speaker 3: So what's good compatibility romantically for Based on my Virgo moon.
- 28:59Speaker 4: Virgo moons tend to be analytical in their emotions. And
- 29:02Speaker 4: then I also find that there's a real overlay with
- 29:05Speaker 4: like acts of service, you know, the love language, and
- 29:08Speaker 4: so really understanding that about you that you kind of
- 29:13Speaker 4: show love through acts of service and through doing things
- 29:17Speaker 4: for somebody else. Especially with the cancer sun, You're you're
- 29:20Speaker 4: a giver, Like that's your nature is to.
- 29:23Speaker 2: Give too much. I give too much, let's.
- 29:26Speaker 4: Be honest, exactly, And so knowing that about yourself and
- 29:29Speaker 4: then kind of choosing a partner that won't take too much,
- 29:34Speaker 4: and so you know, maybe looking at another cancer sun sign,
- 29:40Speaker 4: probably not a scorpio I would steer away from because
- 29:45Speaker 4: they tend to be not that they take too much,
- 29:48Speaker 4: but Scorpios tend to be a little aloof in their energy.
- 29:53Speaker 4: They kind of hold back. And for somebody who's like
- 29:56Speaker 4: a giver and wants to like take care of people,
- 29:59Speaker 4: that can be like, oh what talk to me? Oh
- 30:01Speaker 4: what's wrong? Oh you're not you're quiet. Oh you're mysterious,
- 30:05Speaker 4: Oh what's happening? And so then you end up sending
- 30:07Speaker 4: them all of your energy in order to just get
- 30:10Speaker 4: a little bit of attention. And so I would steer
- 30:13Speaker 4: you away from that. Pisces could be great for you,
- 30:17Speaker 4: Tarus could be great for you. And like I said,
- 30:20Speaker 4: it might be that, you know, they have that placement
- 30:23Speaker 4: in their moon sign that might be really nice for you,
- 30:26Speaker 4: like a Tarus moon or a Pisce's moon. And so
- 30:29Speaker 4: we want to kind of try the different compatibilities because
- 30:32Speaker 4: sometimes like a Pisce's rising does great with a partner
- 30:36Speaker 4: who has a Pisce's moon.
- 30:38Speaker 1: When you're looking at charts, like does the same Do
- 30:43Speaker 1: the same rules apply for friendships as romantic partnerships?
- 30:49Speaker 4: It can, Yeah, it hit it's a little different, but
- 30:51Speaker 4: yeah it absolutely can. Like some of the reasons why
- 30:55Speaker 4: you two get along and are on this podcast together.
- 30:59Speaker 4: Is because you share the virgo, right, The virgo is
- 31:02Speaker 4: a shared sign between you, so there's a part of
- 31:06Speaker 4: you that understands one another through that lens of Virgo. Well,
- 31:11Speaker 4: I have September second night on. I won't say the
- 31:15Speaker 4: year if you don't want me to.
- 31:16Speaker 1: Nineteen ninety Yeah, one am PM.
- 31:20Speaker 4: That's it. There we go. So see what.
- 31:23Speaker 1: It pulls up as for you, I really the Virgo
- 31:26Speaker 1: in me will really have a hard time shaking off.
- 31:29Speaker 1: I'm sure rising is not Scorpio because you know, the
- 31:33Speaker 1: wind blows in a different direction and I'm thrown off.
- 31:36Speaker 4: It's really interesting with the compatibility, like just understanding the
- 31:42Speaker 4: different layers and nuances. It's not just about your sun sign.
- 31:47Speaker 4: It's about your moon sign. It's about your rising, it's
- 31:49Speaker 4: about your venus too.
- 31:51Speaker 1: I'm so can I tell you, I'm so excited to
- 31:53Speaker 1: do the swap to like deep dive into all of
- 31:56Speaker 1: this because I really really like it's my most favorite
- 32:02Speaker 1: thing to understand people from the astrology lens.
- 32:08Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 32:09Speaker 1: Can I say like, like, once you know that, you
- 32:12Speaker 1: know right then if you can move forward or not.
- 32:15Speaker 2: It's like it's not a you thing. Or a me thing.
- 32:17Speaker 2: No blame stars man.
- 32:19Speaker 4: Yeah, and that's what I love about it. You are
- 32:21Speaker 4: Scorpio Rising, so I've got it. So you're right there,
- 32:25Speaker 4: Scorpio Rising. You've got Virgo on your mid heaven. That's
- 32:29Speaker 4: a great placement for what you're doing. Makes you very
- 32:32Speaker 4: precise and analytical and work. And your son is conjuncture
- 32:35Speaker 4: mid heaven. So that's your career line.
- 32:38Speaker 1: I want to deep dive into all of this.
- 32:40Speaker 4: Yeah we will podcast, Yeah, we'll get that.
- 32:42Speaker 1: I'm so hyped. So we're gonna wrap this one up, Jill.
- 32:46Speaker 1: Thank you so much for coming on An Unlikely Affair,
- 32:48Speaker 1: and we're going to catch you over on your podcast
- 32:51Speaker 1: Spirit Daughter.
- 32:52Speaker 2: In just a minute. I'm so excited.
- 32:54Speaker 1: Uh you guys, thank you so much for listening to
- 32:56Speaker 1: another episode of an Unlikely Affair. We're going to catch
- 32:58Speaker 1: you guys next week. Love you by bye bye
