- 3:34Speaker 6: Hello, Hi ladies, Hey you.
- 3:45Speaker 5: All, thank you all my Before I even get started,
- 3:50Speaker 5: I'm gonna say thank you for putting what you put
- 3:52Speaker 5: into these books.
- 3:54Speaker 4: So I'm gonna get that out of the way real quick.
- 3:56Speaker 4: Thank you again for putting what you put in into
- 3:59Speaker 4: this And speaking of that, the origin of this book.
- 4:03Speaker 5: What as bin as you to contribute to Sacretyes of Wisdom?
- 4:13Speaker 6: I can go?
- 4:15Speaker 7: I think first, well, it was an honor first.
- 4:17Speaker 8: To one of the big type lady walk Stephen, Uh
- 4:23Speaker 8: ask for me put some wisdom to another.
- 4:28Speaker 7: Woman.
- 4:31Speaker 9: Honor?
- 4:34Speaker 4: Uh?
- 4:40Speaker 1: I s.
- 4:45Speaker 5: Hear you sounded really fuzzy or somebody does when someone's talking,
- 4:49Speaker 5: because everybody knew because.
- 4:50Speaker 4: It might be somebody's transition. Thank you. I appreciate it.
- 4:57Speaker 5: I'm not sure where it's coming from, but yes, I
- 5:04Speaker 5: understand that Doctor Carolyn just scooped you all up and
- 5:09Speaker 5: you said yes to a wonderful book, and I appreciate it.
- 5:13Speaker 5: I don't know tot heard, but I know I appreciate it.
- 5:15Speaker 5: So some of the rest of what inspired you to
- 5:17Speaker 5: contribute to Sacreties of Wisdom.
- 5:22Speaker 9: So for me, first again, thank you so much for
- 5:26Speaker 9: having us. It's always an honor to be here into
- 5:29Speaker 9: the beautiful ladies of Sacrecies of Wisdom. Just like Cynthia mentioned,
- 5:34Speaker 9: you know, doctor Stevens had asked me to be a
- 5:37Speaker 9: part of such an amazing collaboration, and for me, I
- 5:42Speaker 9: instantly thought of my daughter.
- 5:46Speaker 10: I thought of my daughter.
- 5:47Speaker 9: For many of you know, you know she was born
- 5:51Speaker 9: with her rare genetic condition, And for me, it was
- 5:54Speaker 9: something that I knew that I could leave for her
- 5:58Speaker 9: that even after long after I'm gone, it was something
- 6:01Speaker 9: that I know she could pick up and that it
- 6:04Speaker 9: would be a reminder to her of who she is
- 6:09Speaker 9: and how to take her rest. So for me, in
- 6:11Speaker 9: the book, I left women the insight to know your
- 6:17Speaker 9: worth because I think it's important for us, especially black women,
- 6:21Speaker 9: to know how worthy we are. I know there are
- 6:24Speaker 9: sometimes where I didn't feel worthy, and sometimes doubt whispered
- 6:29Speaker 9: louder than truth, But through my reflection and resilience, I
- 6:34Speaker 9: found the courage to turn pain into purpose. So, as
- 6:40Speaker 9: a black woman, you know, knowing your worth isn't always easy,
- 6:44Speaker 9: but for me, it's essential, and so I know that
- 6:48Speaker 9: I needed to lead her by example. So I wanted
- 6:51Speaker 9: to write to remind myself at other black women that
- 6:55Speaker 9: you are enough, and that you are powerful, and that
- 6:58Speaker 9: you are worthy. So that is that's the biggest reason, and.
- 7:03Speaker 5: Every one of you are so worthy of what you
- 7:06Speaker 5: contributed to this book here. I'm curious, though, how did
- 7:10Speaker 5: the theme of sacred wisdom speak to your personal journey?
- 7:20Speaker 6: For me?
- 7:21Speaker 9: Can y'all hear me? Distrivita, my camera's not working tonight.
- 7:26Speaker 9: I don't know why, but it just decided okay.
- 7:32Speaker 10: But for me, it.
- 7:35Speaker 9: Was a part of wanting to leave everything that I've
- 7:40Speaker 9: been through for somebody else, to have a blueprint that
- 7:44Speaker 9: you don't have to stay in the turmoil that you
- 7:50Speaker 9: may be experiencing because someone else needs to know that
- 7:54Speaker 9: it's it's gonna get easier and it's gonna look good
- 7:57Speaker 9: on the other side.
- 7:59Speaker 10: You just have to keep through the storm.
- 8:01Speaker 9: And a lot of times when we're in the storms,
- 8:03Speaker 9: we don't know that there's a way out, that the
- 8:06Speaker 9: sun is gonna shine, because all we're surrounded by is
- 8:10Speaker 9: just darkness. But if you keep walking and keep going
- 8:13Speaker 9: forward and trusting in God to take you through your journey,
- 8:18Speaker 9: you're gonna come out on the other side, and you're
- 8:20Speaker 9: gonna know that God was walking with you the whole time,
- 8:24Speaker 9: and he didn't put you in a space to not overcome.
- 8:27Speaker 9: He put you in a space to where you were
- 8:29Speaker 9: able to understand all that He's put inside of you.
- 8:33Speaker 9: So I wanted it to be where people could see
- 8:36Speaker 9: the journey of what I was going through and how
- 8:40Speaker 9: I made it through.
- 8:41Speaker 10: To the other side.
- 8:45Speaker 5: I love that you mentioned the blueprint because that speaks volumes.
- 8:49Speaker 5: What legacy do you hope that you from your chapter
- 8:52Speaker 5: plant in the lives of others?
- 8:56Speaker 9: What legacy I hope to leave just now, not just myself,
- 9:01Speaker 9: but my children, my grandchildren, and anybody who reads my chapter.
- 9:05Speaker 9: I want them to understand that it gets better. Your
- 9:11Speaker 9: dark days are only temporary. You have the strength to
- 9:16Speaker 9: get through it if you continue to trust in God
- 9:19Speaker 9: because He created you for a purpose. And I want
- 9:22Speaker 9: people to understand that the legacy is you. You are
- 9:28Speaker 9: the icon, You are the legend. You have something that
- 9:33Speaker 9: God placed in front of you, inside of you to
- 9:37Speaker 9: give you what you need to be that own person
- 9:41Speaker 9: that you look up to. Because I am the person
- 9:43Speaker 9: that I've learned to look up to because of the
- 9:46Speaker 9: things I've been able to overcome and I've trusted God
- 9:49Speaker 9: to bring me through to where I am today. And
- 9:55Speaker 9: that's a great legacy.
- 9:59Speaker 5: It is, it is, it's a great legacy to lead
- 10:01Speaker 5: to not just your own children, to anyone else that's
- 10:04Speaker 5: dealing with whatever situation.
- 10:07Speaker 4: Did they.
- 10:09Speaker 10: Dealing yes, ma'am every time?
- 10:13Speaker 4: Was it difficult to share your truth on paper?
- 10:16Speaker 2: Better? Yet?
- 10:17Speaker 5: What surprised you most during the writing process? Someone, what
- 10:25Speaker 5: surprised any of you ladies.
- 10:29Speaker 2: For me?
- 10:30Speaker 4: Did you think that just writing.
- 10:34Speaker 11: For me? I thought it was gonna be uh, you know,
- 10:39Speaker 11: you just take what you think and you just write
- 10:42Speaker 11: it down, but the words come alive. It's what was
- 10:47Speaker 11: surprising to me is that once it left my mind,
- 10:53Speaker 11: went through the pen to the paper, then it was
- 10:56Speaker 11: like I was outside of it, and I could see
- 11:00Speaker 11: it from a different perspective, even though it's coming out
- 11:02Speaker 11: of my head.
- 11:03Speaker 12: So writing.
- 11:06Speaker 11: Is more than just sitting down and taking a thought
- 11:10Speaker 11: and putting it on paper. It became alive. But even
- 11:14Speaker 11: the story that's being written where I perceived it one
- 11:18Speaker 11: way in thought, it took another perspective.
- 11:28Speaker 5: It becomes when some people just take it and just
- 11:31Speaker 5: put it in the back of the drawer and it's
- 11:33Speaker 5: just it sits.
- 11:33Speaker 2: There for you.
- 11:35Speaker 13: But I would like to speak to that question if
- 11:46Speaker 13: I can. No, yes, okay. So I thought that it
- 11:53Speaker 13: was very therapeutic for me because it was very intentional.
- 11:58Speaker 13: I really wanted to tell my truth. So because I
- 12:02Speaker 13: was very intentional, I wanted to tell people everything that
- 12:05Speaker 13: I had gone through, you know, especially I had read
- 12:07Speaker 13: a study a while ago from John Hopskins, and it
- 12:11Speaker 13: was talking about how African Americans women were at the
- 12:15Speaker 13: bottom of everything. And then you know, we just you know,
- 12:18Speaker 13: we we it makes us work harder for things. We
- 12:22Speaker 13: have to work harder. And in the midst of me
- 12:24Speaker 13: working so hard to accomplish certain things, I really didn't
- 12:28Speaker 13: get a chance to know my authentic self. So this
- 12:32Speaker 13: is why I wanted to write in there the things
- 12:34Speaker 13: that held me back from being authentic, you know, because
- 12:38Speaker 13: knowing that we're at the bottom and we're just always
- 12:40Speaker 13: racing trying to get something, you know, trying to accomplish
- 12:44Speaker 13: something when we knowing that we're at the bottom, in
- 12:47Speaker 13: hopes of all of us finding our authentic self so
- 12:50Speaker 13: we could be better sisters to each other.
- 12:55Speaker 5: So a part of that authentic self is also legacy.
- 13:01Speaker 5: See in manyhing what sacred wisdom was passed down to
- 13:06Speaker 5: you from a mother el guide you today.
- 13:12Speaker 4: The legacy that was as anybody tell the little secrets
- 13:16Speaker 4: asking you that.
- 13:18Speaker 11: The legacy that that was passed down to me from
- 13:21Speaker 11: my mother is the importance of voice. It's it's the
- 13:27Speaker 11: importance of uh. From the point of where to Traviedia
- 13:31Speaker 11: was Travidia was just speaking, was that God made us
- 13:37Speaker 11: and so we don't have to just depend on ourselves.
- 13:41Speaker 11: And so to understand that takes away a lot of
- 13:45Speaker 11: anxiety and stress and a demand to be a part
- 13:50Speaker 11: of the competition or the comparison.
- 13:53Speaker 12: So it was important that this legacy my mother in
- 13:56Speaker 12: my story left me, was God gave you voice. You're
- 14:00Speaker 12: not a victim, you know, you're gonna go through some
- 14:03Speaker 12: trauma and some drama, but her legacy was trauma and
- 14:08Speaker 12: drama is life. That's not you. It doesn't define you.
- 14:13Speaker 12: Keep your voice, use it.
- 14:18Speaker 14: I think for me it's like.
- 14:21Speaker 4: To you, did you break my shit? M go ahead.
- 14:28Speaker 14: I think for me one thing that was broken is
- 14:31Speaker 14: that you know, sometimes you may not grow up the
- 14:36Speaker 14: way that everyone else grows up grow up, but it's
- 14:39Speaker 14: like you don't have to stay stuck in that environment,
- 14:43Speaker 14: that you can rise above that and be who you
- 14:46Speaker 14: were you know, supposed to be, and you never let
- 14:50Speaker 14: somebody hold you down or tell you that you can't
- 14:53Speaker 14: do something. You can do whatever you you know you
- 14:57Speaker 14: want to do when you put your mind to it.
- 15:03Speaker 5: You need to speak that to the next generation is
- 15:05Speaker 5: coming up because they all idolize all these celebrities and
- 15:07Speaker 5: want to be just like them. And not to say
- 15:10Speaker 5: that you can't sing, but there's only one of that
- 15:14Speaker 5: person and you have to be your authentic self.
- 15:16Speaker 4: There's only one or there.
- 15:18Speaker 5: Wus only they one Michael Jackson. They want the things
- 15:25Speaker 5: and you know, grabbing an audience maybe the way she did,
- 15:28Speaker 5: but they're still going to only be one one.
- 15:31Speaker 4: Whitney Houston, and with you.
- 15:33Speaker 5: Saying what you're just saying, Deborah, it holds so much
- 15:38Speaker 5: truth to that you know you're gonna be who you're
- 15:40Speaker 5: going to be. So what unspoken truth did you break
- 15:46Speaker 5: by sharing your story?
- 15:50Speaker 4: M hmm.
- 15:54Speaker 14: I think you can break the truth by not letting
- 16:00Speaker 14: society put you in a box because a lot of
- 16:03Speaker 14: times we're perceived as difficult have attitudes. So by writing
- 16:09Speaker 14: the book and speaking that you know you are limitless
- 16:13Speaker 14: and that it's a lot of opportunities that you can
- 16:15Speaker 14: take a part of and that you don't have to
- 16:18Speaker 14: you know, let somebody say, oh, you can't do this,
- 16:21Speaker 14: or you can't you know, let somebody say, well, you're
- 16:24Speaker 14: never going to amount to anything, because you have to
- 16:27Speaker 14: believe in yourself. You have to have faith in yourself
- 16:30Speaker 14: that you can do whatever anybody else does, and you
- 16:32Speaker 14: can put even better.
- 16:36Speaker 9: The other unspoken truth for this particular project.
- 16:41Speaker 4: So how does your faith through the sick.
- 16:44Speaker 9: It basically is the fact that it dispels the lie
- 16:49Speaker 9: that black women don't.
- 16:50Speaker 10: Know how to work together.
- 16:53Speaker 9: We can get along and we can support and encourage
- 16:56Speaker 9: and uplift each other to do great things. We are
- 17:00Speaker 9: not in competition with each other. We grow and we
- 17:04Speaker 9: become better because of the sisters that we have surrounding us.
- 17:08Speaker 9: And I think that's one of the truths that this
- 17:11Speaker 9: book holds truth to, that we can collaborate and work
- 17:16Speaker 9: together and be great not only as individuals but as
- 17:21Speaker 9: a collective.
- 17:22Speaker 7: That's true, so true.
- 17:29Speaker 5: One of you said earlier that we are on the bottom.
- 17:32Speaker 5: And I want you to think about this when you
- 17:34Speaker 5: when you hear it from me, some people think of
- 17:39Speaker 5: it as being negative negative, it's petty as a totem
- 17:43Speaker 5: pole with us being on the bottom. What is it
- 17:46Speaker 5: about that totem pole with us on the bottom that you.
- 17:49Speaker 13: Recognize sometimes you know our work in a work in
- 18:01Speaker 13: corporate America and sometimes question that others have or proceed
- 18:08Speaker 13: sometimes let someone else than African American women because of
- 18:14Speaker 13: the way has made you know, has set up for Africans.
- 18:23Speaker 13: So that's what I mean by you know the bottom,
- 18:25Speaker 13: And sometimes I don't.
- 18:34Speaker 7: Can you hear me?
- 18:35Speaker 5: We're looking at and look at Actually it's a lot
- 18:38Speaker 5: of static and and whatever you're at, it's a lot
- 18:40Speaker 5: of static that comes through never whenever you're speaking. But
- 18:46Speaker 5: I want to go back to the total pole you
- 18:49Speaker 5: have African Americans.
- 18:50Speaker 4: You have all all sorts of cultures and you have
- 18:55Speaker 4: men and women on it, and as African American women,
- 18:59Speaker 4: we're still on the bottom.
- 19:01Speaker 5: What is it that you recognize about that totalm pole
- 19:04Speaker 5: that's being on the bottom.
- 19:08Speaker 4: I'm sorry, who can't hear.
- 19:14Speaker 3: Who?
- 19:14Speaker 5: Whatever that is, you maybe need to go out and
- 19:16Speaker 5: then come back in, because I can hear just about
- 19:18Speaker 5: everybody here.
- 19:21Speaker 4: What I'm getting at is with the totem.
- 19:23Speaker 5: Pole is that if you realize, is that they place
- 19:28Speaker 5: us on the bottom. But we are the ones that's
- 19:32Speaker 5: holding everybody up. So we're the strong ones and they
- 19:36Speaker 5: can't quite get it about us. They may they may
- 19:40Speaker 5: look at us in certain ways and say things because
- 19:42Speaker 5: they want to knock us down, but we are the
- 19:45Speaker 5: ones that's holding them up.
- 19:46Speaker 4: I'm so sorry. Somebody's saying that they cannot hear Synthy.
- 19:51Speaker 4: Can you hear me?
- 19:52Speaker 2: Yes?
- 19:53Speaker 15: I can hear you, Bobby, I can hear you, Yeah,
- 20:01Speaker 15: I can hear I think that is coming from Michelin's.
- 20:06Speaker 6: Signs because I can't hear anything.
- 20:11Speaker 4: Can you hear me?
- 20:12Speaker 13: I can hear you.
- 20:14Speaker 4: That's Michelin, Michelan, can you okay staring? Can you hear me.
- 20:19Speaker 7: Yes, I can hear you. De you can hear me, Yes,
- 20:27Speaker 7: I can hear you.
- 20:30Speaker 4: Okay, all right.
- 20:31Speaker 5: I just wanted to make sure that everyone can hear.
- 20:33Speaker 5: We also just spoke about faith. How is your faith
- 20:38Speaker 5: evolved around or evolved through the seasons of your life.
- 20:46Speaker 13: My faith has carried me through every dark season of
- 20:51Speaker 13: my life. You know, reading back in the Bible and
- 20:53Speaker 13: you see some of the other people like Joshua, we'll
- 20:56Speaker 13: just use him when God told.
- 20:58Speaker 7: Him to be strong and courageous.
- 21:00Speaker 13: Just holding on to that faith that God is always
- 21:02Speaker 13: going to be there with us to go through anything.
- 21:07Speaker 13: That is what has sustained my faith and not caused
- 21:10Speaker 13: me to stop, give up, stop moving. It has caused us,
- 21:13Speaker 13: caused my resilience. You know, they get knocked down but
- 21:17Speaker 13: get right back up. It's due to faith. If God
- 21:20Speaker 13: has got it for others and everyone who has mentioned
- 21:24Speaker 13: it in his book, that's what gives me faith that God.
- 21:31Speaker 5: So has anyone's spiritual practice grounded them in times of uncertainty.
- 21:38Speaker 7: Absolutely.
- 21:40Speaker 11: Absolutely, it's pivotal to me to hear the the scenario
- 21:46Speaker 11: with the totem pole that you just spoke about, how
- 21:49Speaker 11: the black woman you know is at the bottom of it.
- 21:52Speaker 11: But that's the foundation and strength and all in the
- 21:56Speaker 11: part of the book that I wrote about overcoming faith
- 22:00Speaker 11: is my spiritual faith increased and it changed me so
- 22:06Speaker 11: that I can understand when even the statement that were
- 22:10Speaker 11: placed on the bottom, that I can understand that even
- 22:14Speaker 11: that is a lie because there's a certain point that
- 22:19Speaker 11: faith taught me. You have to agree first of all
- 22:22Speaker 11: that a thing is true in order to start dealing
- 22:25Speaker 11: with it. Sometimes there are things we don't deal with
- 22:27Speaker 11: because we don't want to face them as a truth.
- 22:33Speaker 11: And so my faith has transitioned me from that place
- 22:37Speaker 11: where I'm always fighting to achieve my authenticity to understanding
- 22:43Speaker 11: that's nothing to fight for. It's mine from the beginning.
- 22:48Speaker 11: And so this project and all of the writers, when
- 22:52Speaker 11: I've read their chapters, I mean, it's a book that
- 22:56Speaker 11: even though I am an author co author in the book,
- 23:01Speaker 11: I'm benefiting from the collaborative stories of each author that's
- 23:07Speaker 11: here tonight because I get to read their stories. It's
- 23:12Speaker 11: amazing that collaborative that adds to me without me buying
- 23:16Speaker 11: another book, just me having a copy of the Sacred Seeds.
- 23:23Speaker 12: See, I'm receiving this because just more.
- 23:28Speaker 4: Than one book. It's almost as if you got more
- 23:33Speaker 4: than one book inside of a book.
- 23:35Speaker 12: It's a library. Wow, it's a library.
- 23:40Speaker 4: Wow. I love that. I love that.
- 23:43Speaker 9: I agree with that.
- 23:49Speaker 4: Wow, that's just that.
- 23:52Speaker 6: Now.
- 23:52Speaker 4: I'm not one that to get tongue tied, but here I.
- 23:54Speaker 9: Am every.
- 24:01Speaker 11: Healed Yes, so that I get from each one of
- 24:07Speaker 11: these authors, I am empowered beyond myself.
- 24:11Speaker 12: I'm able to take their.
- 24:15Speaker 11: Overcoming seed and plan it into my families, my friends,
- 24:19Speaker 11: my community because it doesn't have to just be my
- 24:24Speaker 11: story of overcoming. I've got each one of you and
- 24:29Speaker 11: so hey, that's why the book is gonna sell. That's
- 24:32Speaker 11: why it's necessary a it's a library that not only
- 24:36Speaker 11: it's not selfish. It's not just focused on one area
- 24:40Speaker 11: of difficulty, struggle or weakness or something like that. It's expansive,
- 24:47Speaker 11: it's inclusive. At the same time, people have to buy
- 24:52Speaker 11: this book.
- 24:53Speaker 5: It's an investment, yeah, investment with not us. It's planned
- 25:02Speaker 5: seeds for the next generation. What do you want young
- 25:05Speaker 5: women to know about healing, power and purpose?
- 25:12Speaker 6: I couldn't here before I had to go out and
- 25:14Speaker 6: come back in. But I'll answer that. My chapter is
- 25:20Speaker 6: about the prodigal daughter of how I left home and
- 25:26Speaker 6: went and did my own thing. And I have three granddaughters.
- 25:31Speaker 6: And I didn't start writing until I was like fifteen
- 25:35Speaker 6: plus years old. So I finally discovered what my purpose was,
- 25:41Speaker 6: and I wanted to, you know, let them know that
- 25:45Speaker 6: it doesn't matter how old you are or you know
- 25:49Speaker 6: what's going on in your life, you still have a
- 25:53Speaker 6: We all have a plan and purpose and as they say,
- 25:56Speaker 6: God knew us before we were formed inside our mother's womb.
- 26:00Speaker 6: So I just want people to know, and especial especially them,
- 26:05Speaker 6: of all the hardships that I went through. And my
- 26:10Speaker 6: chapter is about you leaving them with an inner strength
- 26:14Speaker 6: to face adversities. So if you just know who you
- 26:18Speaker 6: are and what you're supposed to do, and you listen,
- 26:22Speaker 6: because we sometimes avoid, you know, what is told to
- 26:27Speaker 6: us to do. We want to take another path, but
- 26:30Speaker 6: some kind of way, you know, you get to that
- 26:32Speaker 6: crossroad and then you come back and you see what
- 26:35Speaker 6: you're supposed to do. So I just want them to
- 26:38Speaker 6: have strength. I want them to know that they are special.
- 26:43Speaker 6: I know that. I want them to know that they
- 26:46Speaker 6: were beautifully and wonderfully made and that whatever they're supposed
- 26:51Speaker 6: to do. Is it's going to happen because that's God's
- 26:54Speaker 6: will good. I couldn't hear before.
- 27:03Speaker 5: The different seeds, and each of these have planted so
- 27:09Speaker 5: many different seeds in each and every one of your chapters.
- 27:12Speaker 5: What scene do you believe each woman must plan for herself.
- 27:21Speaker 13: I would have to I would like to speak on
- 27:23Speaker 13: that one. I would say, be honest with their selves.
- 27:28Speaker 13: And I would like to piggyback on the last question
- 27:30Speaker 13: that you just asked. If you don't mind healing, I
- 27:34Speaker 13: think once we learn how to properly heal, we will
- 27:38Speaker 13: have to heal something for the rest of our lives.
- 27:41Speaker 13: It's not just the one time fix because we don't
- 27:43Speaker 13: know what we're going to go through or come against
- 27:47Speaker 13: or come up against life. But we have to get
- 27:50Speaker 13: used to healing our soul, resting our soul, because it's
- 27:56Speaker 13: just not like a quick fix and then you fix.
- 27:59Speaker 13: This is one book, and I think Doctor Stevens is
- 28:02Speaker 13: not another book. It's constant healing. You know, I may
- 28:05Speaker 13: have healed from one situation that I don't even know
- 28:08Speaker 13: what's ready to come around the door to the corner
- 28:11Speaker 13: for next week. But learning how to heal be honest
- 28:15Speaker 13: and get the correct healing because we all have power,
- 28:19Speaker 13: we all have purpose, but the healing can stop ork
- 28:24Speaker 13: or hinder any all the power and the purpose that's needed.
- 28:31Speaker 5: So how do you intentionally nurture your own growth today?
- 28:36Speaker 5: Because it seems as though it's really empowered, not one
- 28:44Speaker 5: of you, all of you. How would you intentionally nurture
- 28:47Speaker 5: your own growth today? Since you've written this book.
- 28:53Speaker 6: I would say self love, self care, knowing who you are, healing,
- 29:01Speaker 6: as Cynthia just said, knowing when you need to take
- 29:05Speaker 6: a break, because sometimes you know, it's like we have
- 29:09Speaker 6: the battery in our back and as women and black women,
- 29:13Speaker 6: and I heard someone say that like we're the lowest sign,
- 29:17Speaker 6: the potem pole. So it's like you got to know
- 29:20Speaker 6: who you are. You gotta step back. It's okay to
- 29:24Speaker 6: say no, It's okay to explore new things and know that,
- 29:29Speaker 6: like your purpose may not just be this one thing
- 29:33Speaker 6: that God has poured you know, different elements in you
- 29:37Speaker 6: so that you can learn grow, teach someone else. But
- 29:41Speaker 6: I know mainly for me it's resting. No one when
- 29:45Speaker 6: to rest. And at one point I didn't love myself
- 29:49Speaker 6: and I had a low self esteem. So now it's like,
- 29:53Speaker 6: you know, I talk life then to me because I
- 29:56Speaker 6: was in survival mode for so long and I want
- 30:00Speaker 6: to live. I want to I want to love, I
- 30:02Speaker 6: want to be happy. So I just you know, like
- 30:06Speaker 6: I said, it's just the self uh worth that I
- 30:10Speaker 6: need to you know, tell myself I have and just
- 30:13Speaker 6: take a rest when I need to.
- 30:18Speaker 5: That right there, All of that that said right there,
- 30:21Speaker 5: it took current and vulnerability to write this book. What
- 30:28Speaker 5: fear did you have to overcome to be a part
- 30:31Speaker 5: of this book?
- 30:36Speaker 14: I think for me the fear was, you know, we
- 30:39Speaker 14: have some.
- 30:41Speaker 7: We have some power on the pages.
- 30:45Speaker 6: And I think Trebida said something about if she could
- 30:49Speaker 6: help someone else, so like, if I can just touch
- 30:52Speaker 6: on person, you know, then then I feel like my
- 30:57Speaker 6: job is done. Because that's saying that was a wise
- 31:01Speaker 6: person learns from other people's mistakes, and a fool learned
- 31:05Speaker 6: from his own. So if you know, I know me,
- 31:08Speaker 6: growing up, somebody said, hey, don't go over there, you
- 31:12Speaker 6: got to fall off the bridge. I believe them, you know,
- 31:15Speaker 6: but it's not always like that. But if I could
- 31:18Speaker 6: just like speak life into one person, then I know
- 31:21Speaker 6: I did my job, and that made me get the fear.
- 31:30Speaker 4: Anybody else, will you cool?
- 31:34Speaker 13: Because fear has gripped my life for so long. It's
- 31:38Speaker 13: actually therapeutic for me. And I was just so happy
- 31:42Speaker 13: to be able to not experience fear. And how I
- 31:46Speaker 13: did that was kept my mind off of myself and
- 31:49Speaker 13: sure my faults were in the right place and thought
- 31:52Speaker 13: about the person that would buy this book and this
- 31:54Speaker 13: book with help. So it was actually therapeutic to me
- 31:59Speaker 13: writing this. A chapter in this book.
- 32:10Speaker 4: Has vulnerability to become a source of strength in.
- 32:13Speaker 11: Your Yes, it has being transparent, is being vulnerable to
- 32:25Speaker 11: actually be truthful and it closed yourself is it's it's
- 32:34Speaker 11: life changing because you don't you know how is it
- 32:37Speaker 11: going to be perceived and received. But the vulnerability for
- 32:41Speaker 11: me now is once I could tell the whole story,
- 32:45Speaker 11: what's worth it. That's why in my in my chapter
- 32:49Speaker 11: I write about overcoming faith. It's not that the vulnerability
- 32:54Speaker 11: was a weakness until I told the whole story. It's
- 32:58Speaker 11: one you know, one particular place is where I can
- 33:01Speaker 11: say that I've been raped.
- 33:02Speaker 4: That's vulnerable.
- 33:03Speaker 11: I mean, that's not something I'm looking forward to telling people,
- 33:07Speaker 11: but I have been. But it became a strength because
- 33:10Speaker 11: it gave me the platform to tell the rest of
- 33:13Speaker 11: the story. Yes I was, and yes, through God's grace,
- 33:19Speaker 11: through his counseling, through his providing me with the community
- 33:24Speaker 11: of people who know that rape is not an everlasting,
- 33:28Speaker 11: painful drama. Just like we were saying earlier, it may
- 33:33Speaker 11: have been something that I had to deal with, but
- 33:36Speaker 11: not for the rest of my life.
- 33:38Speaker 12: So now that vulnerability to speak on.
- 33:41Speaker 11: Rape without wondering how it's gonna be ple, see, how's
- 33:44Speaker 11: somebody gonna look at me later, or anything like that.
- 33:48Speaker 11: Now it's my strength that, yeah, drama happens, life happens,
- 33:53Speaker 11: but there's an overcoming faith that says that is not
- 33:56Speaker 11: the rest.
- 33:57Speaker 12: Of your life. Neither is that all of who you are.
- 34:00Speaker 12: That's not all of who we are.
- 34:02Speaker 11: Is the drama and the pain and the society of
- 34:06Speaker 11: abuse or injustice, that's not all our lives.
- 34:10Speaker 12: And a lot of it is a lie.
- 34:12Speaker 11: And that's vulnerable for me to say that with you
- 34:14Speaker 11: women here, because that's a strong statement to say a
- 34:18Speaker 11: lot of what has been spoken against us and set
- 34:21Speaker 11: up against us. First of all, it's a lie. We
- 34:24Speaker 11: have to help it be true so we can fight it.
- 34:27Speaker 11: But by the grace of God.
- 34:30Speaker 5: We can't think of any woman. I can't think of
- 34:35Speaker 5: any woman or male that can say that they weren't
- 34:39Speaker 5: at some point in their life vulnerable. I just I
- 34:46Speaker 5: couldn't buy into that by anybody telling me that they know.
- 34:51Speaker 5: And to pick doctor Stephens's brain of what was it
- 34:59Speaker 5: like to put the collection and the collective of women
- 35:03Speaker 5: telling not just a story but a sacred story. So
- 35:06Speaker 5: I'm going to put it to you, ladies, what was
- 35:08Speaker 5: it like to be part of a collection, collective of
- 35:11Speaker 5: women telling not just a story, but a sacred story.
- 35:17Speaker 12: One word empowering.
- 35:18Speaker 2: For me.
- 35:21Speaker 4: Anybody else?
- 35:22Speaker 7: One word unity. Unity.
- 35:26Speaker 13: It was just great to see the ladies come together
- 35:29Speaker 13: be involved, because you know, everything is associated with difficult issues.
- 35:36Speaker 13: So just everyone coming and being free of their shame,
- 35:41Speaker 13: coming together as a unit. It basically just winded us
- 35:45Speaker 13: together and whatever we're free, we're able to free others.
- 35:54Speaker 6: Like you tell the truth, shame the devil. So get
- 35:58Speaker 6: a blessing.
- 36:00Speaker 16: Who I like that mischeline, love it.
- 36:10Speaker 4: For me, Love the way you're gonna have to. I'm
- 36:13Speaker 4: glad this is being recorded.
- 36:16Speaker 5: I'm so glad that this is being recorded because I'm
- 36:18Speaker 5: gonna I'm gonna steal it you right now.
- 36:19Speaker 4: I want to steal it, so don't be too surprised.
- 36:22Speaker 5: You hear it again and said Raymond, I said that,
- 36:24Speaker 5: I'm telling you now, I'm want to steal it.
- 36:27Speaker 4: I believe somebody else was charming in with.
- 36:29Speaker 7: Their word about.
- 36:31Speaker 14: Camaraderie For me, I mean because I've never I never
- 36:35Speaker 14: met any of these ladies prior to the book project,
- 36:39Speaker 14: and I just felt like, you know, we could always
- 36:42Speaker 14: you know, be friends, you know after this.
- 36:47Speaker 9: For me it was humbling because like a lot of
- 36:50Speaker 9: the ladies Lincoln, we don't know each other, but we
- 36:54Speaker 9: were able to come together and join voices and we
- 36:57Speaker 9: planted ours of truth and feeling and chances amson transformation.
- 37:01Speaker 9: So for me, it was about pouring on her into
- 37:04Speaker 9: something that can uplift someone else's journey. So it was
- 37:09Speaker 9: it was amazing just to feel seen and heard and
- 37:13Speaker 9: the wisdom passed on like a church from Hm.
- 37:17Speaker 5: Wow, you guys are dropping these little nuggets that again
- 37:23Speaker 5: I'm going to be taking all this in.
- 37:25Speaker 4: So do you believe that community and sister and impact
- 37:28Speaker 4: the way wisdom is passed on?
- 37:31Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 37:32Speaker 9: Yeah?
- 37:34Speaker 13: Yeah?
- 37:37Speaker 4: In what way? In what way?
- 37:45Speaker 13: I think if you share your truth, it makes someone
- 37:49Speaker 13: else feel like they're not alone. They're not alone. So
- 37:53Speaker 13: just getting that wisdom. You know, back in the day
- 37:55Speaker 13: when my mother was born in thirty four, they didn't
- 37:57Speaker 13: really talk about these things. Now we're able to share
- 38:01Speaker 13: our truth, put it in a book, and that wisdom,
- 38:03Speaker 13: I think will just carry on from generation to generation.
- 38:07Speaker 13: We're not longer quiet, we're no longer quiet. We're speaking
- 38:10Speaker 13: our truth, and we're showing that we're resilient. We're showing
- 38:14Speaker 13: that we're not giving up. We're showing that we can
- 38:18Speaker 13: come with other women and just be there to support
- 38:20Speaker 13: each other and lift each other up. So I just
- 38:23Speaker 13: I just really think it's just wonderful. You know, when
- 38:26Speaker 13: I was seven eight, I wish I did have a
- 38:28Speaker 13: book to read about something everyone was going through instead
- 38:32Speaker 13: of at seven being in my own young mind thinking
- 38:35Speaker 13: of my own wrong thoughts, which made me not feel
- 38:38Speaker 13: valuable enough at a certain age. And now someone else
- 38:42Speaker 13: gets this wisdom, you know, young girls, other women.
- 38:46Speaker 7: You know, we're not silent anymore. So I think it's
- 38:50Speaker 7: going to be That's what I love most about the project.
- 38:54Speaker 4: Oh say no, go ahead.
- 38:57Speaker 9: What I love most about the project is because cause
- 39:00Speaker 9: it is when it is women from different walks of life.
- 39:03Speaker 9: You know, we're all from different generations and we came
- 39:06Speaker 9: together for one mission, and that was to you know,
- 39:10Speaker 9: uplift and power and sold those seeds of truth into
- 39:14Speaker 9: the world. So someone who you know, we have, like
- 39:18Speaker 9: I said, we have all the different ages. So the
- 39:21Speaker 9: power from the experience is what I love about this,
- 39:26Speaker 9: this collaboration.
- 39:29Speaker 4: No, I don't know what you're talking about.
- 39:31Speaker 5: Family, but I'm twenty five five for the next twenty
- 39:35Speaker 5: five years, so.
- 39:39Speaker 4: I'm gonna keep that.
- 39:40Speaker 5: You tell my kids start topacity in age, I'm gonna
- 39:43Speaker 5: tell them I'm your cousin.
- 39:45Speaker 9: Right, because that's how my mom was. You would always say,
- 39:52Speaker 9: like I turned forty five. Before she passed, she would
- 39:57Speaker 9: always tell me she was thirty five. I said, well, Mom,
- 39:59Speaker 9: how is that possible If you're thirty five and I'm
- 40:02Speaker 9: forty five, somebody's math is off. And She's like, yeah,
- 40:06Speaker 9: yours is off because mine is right.
- 40:08Speaker 10: I'm thirty five.
- 40:09Speaker 4: That's right, that's right, She's absolutely right, because.
- 40:15Speaker 5: If we get a chance to do it over in
- 40:16Speaker 5: our way, So she was thirty five, just just acknowledged
- 40:19Speaker 5: that you were a little older than her.
- 40:21Speaker 4: I would have been the most prize of the action.
- 40:31Speaker 13: I'm sorry we didn't hear the question, or I didn't
- 40:33Speaker 13: I'm sorry, Can you repeat the question?
- 40:47Speaker 10: I think it's frozen.
- 41:08Speaker 11: I don't know how old everybody is on here, but
- 41:10Speaker 11: i'ma grew up to be just like you, and you
- 41:13Speaker 11: and you, and then I'm group be like you.
- 41:16Speaker 2: I'm like you.
- 41:20Speaker 12: I'm grow up and be just like y'all outrageous and pretty.
- 41:25Speaker 7: Oh, thank you?
- 41:27Speaker 4: She back.
- 41:28Speaker 13: We didn't hear the last question.
- 41:35Speaker 9: Yes, I think it's self frozen. But as a collective,
- 41:38Speaker 9: it's been an honor to be a part of this
- 41:41Speaker 9: book with each and every one of you, ladies, simply
- 41:44Speaker 9: because we've all taken something and learned something about ourselves
- 41:50Speaker 9: while reading each one of our chapters and being in
- 41:55Speaker 9: a space where I was a little girl who was
- 41:59Speaker 9: constantly told I would never be in a space with
- 42:03Speaker 9: women like you guys. And we often talk about getting
- 42:09Speaker 9: to the table. I look at it like this. You
- 42:13Speaker 9: can knock on the door and make a lot of noise,
- 42:17Speaker 9: but you can't change the room, the atmosphere in the
- 42:20Speaker 9: room until you're inside. And so once you're inside, you
- 42:24Speaker 9: have the power to shift everything that's happening inside the room.
- 42:29Speaker 9: You can make a lot of noise on the outside
- 42:31Speaker 9: of the door, begging to get in, but once you're
- 42:34Speaker 9: in the room, it's what you do that changes the atmosphere.
- 42:40Speaker 9: And so being in the space to where I've been
- 42:42Speaker 9: able to be in rooms that change the atmosphere and
- 42:46Speaker 9: change the way people look at black women as a collective,
- 42:51Speaker 9: because sometimes we are the only ones that look like
- 42:55Speaker 9: us in these spaces. And when you can change the
- 42:59Speaker 9: way people look at us as a collective, it's a
- 43:03Speaker 9: beautiful thing. It doesn't have to be looked upon as, oh, well,
- 43:09Speaker 9: her tone is too harsh, or you know, the way
- 43:13Speaker 9: she is just straight face is intimidating. We don't always
- 43:18Speaker 9: smile every time we're in a space, and that's intimidating
- 43:24Speaker 9: to some people. And I've learned that I have to
- 43:28Speaker 9: fix my face. You know, my face hasn't learned to
- 43:32Speaker 9: use her inside voice. She has a man of her own,
- 43:36Speaker 9: and so I would constantly bet she needs to fix
- 43:40Speaker 9: your face. My son would tell me all the time.
- 43:43Speaker 9: He's like, Mom, you didn't need a public speaking class.
- 43:45Speaker 9: You got speaking under control. You need a facial expression class,
- 43:50Speaker 9: because that face is what's gonna make people think that
- 43:54Speaker 9: you're unapproachable, and I'm learning to work on it. But
- 44:00Speaker 9: my face has a personality. She's loud sometimes even when
- 44:06Speaker 9: she's not trying to be loud. It's been an honor
- 44:10Speaker 9: to be part of this project, and I'm just grateful
- 44:14Speaker 9: that whoever decides to purchase this book, they are getting
- 44:18Speaker 9: a gift in so many ways and so many avenues.
- 44:23Speaker 9: And every time I read a different chapter since I've
- 44:27Speaker 9: gotten the book in hand, I'm just in awe. You know,
- 44:32Speaker 9: I've even looked at my own chapter and I'm like, girl,
- 44:36Speaker 9: you let it go. Then you know there's something you
- 44:40Speaker 9: know that somebody is definitely going to see that. The
- 44:45Speaker 9: journey is the beautiful process, and you have to go
- 44:51Speaker 9: through life and understand that even in those darkest moments,
- 44:56Speaker 9: those uncertainties, God is walking me with you. He's walking
- 45:01Speaker 9: you through each and everything that you're going through, even
- 45:05Speaker 9: when it looks like God, why did you bring me
- 45:08Speaker 9: to this? If he brought you to it, He's going.
- 45:11Speaker 4: To bring you through it.
- 45:12Speaker 9: He's not gonna place you in a space for where
- 45:14Speaker 9: he's not going to see you through it. It's up
- 45:18Speaker 9: to us to understand that He's given us everything that
- 45:21Speaker 9: we needed to get through. And when we realized that
- 45:25Speaker 9: we were created for this, we are walking in the
- 45:29Speaker 9: purpose of who He's created us to be. We are
- 45:32Speaker 9: going to be continuously awesome and everything that we set
- 45:37Speaker 9: our minds to, each and every person that we're connected to,
- 45:41Speaker 9: even every person that we meet along this journey, we
- 45:45Speaker 9: were supposed to meet.
- 45:47Speaker 10: We were supposed to.
- 45:48Speaker 9: Be part of this book because God had already designed
- 45:52Speaker 9: it when he created us. It was his timing, his selection,
- 45:57Speaker 9: his everything that was part of this whole project. We
- 46:01Speaker 9: knew that there was something bigger that was coming in
- 46:07Speaker 9: our season in twenty twenty five. We had no idea
- 46:11Speaker 9: exactly what God had planned, but God knew what he
- 46:14Speaker 9: had planned for us. He collectively collected each one of us,
- 46:19Speaker 9: and he put Mss Carolyn, Doctor Carolyn in charge of
- 46:23Speaker 9: putting us all together. And this book is a blessing.
- 46:29Speaker 9: It's not only a seed, it is a blossoming garden
- 46:34Speaker 9: for those who take it and read it.
- 46:40Speaker 7: That's awesome. Word to leader, You're absolutely right. We are
- 46:45Speaker 7: making it to the tables.
- 46:47Speaker 9: Now.
- 46:49Speaker 13: This is where I wrote my chapter and was very
- 46:52Speaker 13: intentional about getting a seat at the table, because I
- 46:56Speaker 13: think I started off and you all probably didn't hear
- 46:59Speaker 13: when I was talking about it. I had read that
- 47:00Speaker 13: article about us being at the bottom and then we work, work,
- 47:03Speaker 13: work to get to the top. But for me, I worked, work, work,
- 47:07Speaker 13: got to the top. And we know that God has
- 47:10Speaker 13: plans and purposes for us. Right the doors are going
- 47:12Speaker 13: to be open. But when they're open and you really
- 47:14Speaker 13: don't know your true value, you've just been working just
- 47:18Speaker 13: to obtain something, and you really don't know your true
- 47:22Speaker 13: value when you get to that table, that's when you
- 47:25Speaker 13: could possibly be depressed, just be uneasy.
- 47:28Speaker 10: Not just behold.
- 47:30Speaker 13: So I had to go back, even though I was
- 47:33Speaker 13: at the table, and get the real work done, go
- 47:36Speaker 13: back to work on the trauma, go back.
- 47:39Speaker 7: To talk about the things that my mother did not
- 47:41Speaker 7: talk about.
- 47:42Speaker 13: I really had to go back and find out who
- 47:44Speaker 13: was Cynthia at the table because I showed up with
- 47:47Speaker 13: a smile. I showed up as myself, but I did
- 47:50Speaker 13: not know who I was. Now when I show up,
- 47:53Speaker 13: I come at God's child with a name Cynthia Carter
- 47:57Speaker 13: Spencer that won't be stopped. And the other ladies at
- 48:02Speaker 13: the top, I don't have to look at them and
- 48:03Speaker 13: be I mean, the other ladies at the bottom, I
- 48:06Speaker 13: can hold my hand down and pull them up.
- 48:08Speaker 7: I don't have to be jealous of them.
- 48:10Speaker 13: I think sometimes at the bottom, when I mention us
- 48:14Speaker 13: being lowest at the bottom, it's because I feel like
- 48:18Speaker 13: some of us need to go back and find authentic self,
- 48:21Speaker 13: because we start fighting each other, not helping each other,
- 48:26Speaker 13: not sharing open resources for others because we want to
- 48:30Speaker 13: get there first. Sometimes it may be your job to
- 48:33Speaker 13: put down your goals to help someone else with their goals.
- 48:37Speaker 13: But if we don't know ourselves, we're just fighting for fame,
- 48:40Speaker 13: wanting fame, trying to get money. But when you know
- 48:43Speaker 13: who you are and when you know your value, it
- 48:46Speaker 13: this crisis and when you get to the table, you
- 48:49Speaker 13: just gonna get to bigger tables, and sometimes you may
- 48:52Speaker 13: be the head of the table. This is why I
- 48:55Speaker 13: wrote my chapter because I want it to be intentional.
- 48:59Speaker 13: And sometimes we see and black women that they're just
- 49:02Speaker 13: not getting along the way that we should give along.
- 49:05Speaker 13: We should love each other, we should be helping each other,
- 49:08Speaker 13: we should be encouraging each other. If you got a
- 49:10Speaker 13: million dollars in your bank account not only have two.
- 49:13Speaker 13: I should still be happy for you because if you eat,
- 49:15Speaker 13: I'm gonna eat. And we all have to go back
- 49:18Speaker 13: and find our authentic self.
- 49:22Speaker 7: There is work for us still to be done.
- 49:25Speaker 13: Be done if they're able to write articles to saying
- 49:28Speaker 13: we're at the bottom when we serve a God that
- 49:31Speaker 13: wants to put us at the top, but we'll lose
- 49:34Speaker 13: out at the top, but we don't really know.
- 49:36Speaker 4: Who we are.
- 49:37Speaker 7: Thank you.
- 49:39Speaker 11: Ooh, miss Spencer, misson, Miss Spencer.
- 49:45Speaker 7: Yes, I'm gonna tell you I can't help, but you
- 49:47Speaker 7: keep sending sparks.
- 49:48Speaker 11: Over here in Cordina, Georgia such when you talk about God.
- 49:52Speaker 11: I'm gonna say this again, y'all, this is a transparent thing.
- 49:56Speaker 11: When we get to that place where somebody said we
- 49:59Speaker 11: were on the babo, let me give you.
- 50:02Speaker 4: Two snaps up.
- 50:04Speaker 11: I would when I when I when you said go
- 50:07Speaker 11: right to the bottom, that's when I find out that
- 50:10Speaker 11: isn't a bottom, because that's not anything God designed that.
- 50:14Speaker 7: He doesn't have.
- 50:15Speaker 11: A respect of person, or respect of race, or respect
- 50:20Speaker 11: of gender.
- 50:21Speaker 12: God does not have that. And so like you said,
- 50:25Speaker 12: getting in.
- 50:26Speaker 11: The room, but still having that lie because society said it.
- 50:31Speaker 11: They established it that some kind of way I gotta
- 50:34Speaker 11: get in the room. That's why when we come with
- 50:37Speaker 11: this collaborative, we still gotta stay at that place. You
- 50:40Speaker 11: just said, miss Spencer, that I am not. I have
- 50:44Speaker 11: never been at the bottom. I assumed it because of racism.
- 50:49Speaker 11: I assumed it because of social status. I assumed it
- 50:53Speaker 11: because the world taught me that. And when I went
- 50:57Speaker 11: to that bottom, like you saying, and now I'm here
- 51:00Speaker 11: with you, ladies, I find out that there isn't anybody
- 51:04Speaker 11: on the bottom.
- 51:05Speaker 7: So when you said reach.
- 51:06Speaker 11: Down to get them, go down there and tell them, girl,
- 51:08Speaker 11: you ain't at the bottom.
- 51:09Speaker 7: You're nobody here.
- 51:12Speaker 12: Come that power.
- 51:14Speaker 4: So when I walk in the room with.
- 51:16Speaker 11: My seventy five cents, some bayon of sauces and a
- 51:19Speaker 11: bag of cheeto, I'm feeling big. It is I'm feeling big.
- 51:23Speaker 11: It is not comparison. Come my bianas.
- 51:27Speaker 2: Is all of that.
- 51:29Speaker 12: My Cheetos a fire?
- 51:31Speaker 11: Yeah? We value because we realize that all of what
- 51:37Speaker 11: was ever said is a lie. We can't own up
- 51:41Speaker 11: to God making us wonderfully, fearfully made, and at the
- 51:45Speaker 11: same time acknowledging that somebody else says that we're staggered
- 51:51Speaker 11: and no truth in that.
- 51:53Speaker 12: Lady Spencer, cond did you too more?
- 51:55Speaker 7: Give me, give me, let me get you, let me
- 52:00Speaker 7: get let me get there.
- 52:01Speaker 11: Everyone fair, all of them. I'm trying to tell you, right,
- 52:08Speaker 11: Doctor Carolyn, wherever you at the bomb girl, that's right.
- 52:14Speaker 6: I just want to say, it was definitely an honor
- 52:17Speaker 6: and a pleasure to be in the book with you
- 52:20Speaker 6: beautiful ladies, and just reading the chapters, it's like you
- 52:25Speaker 6: can release something. If it's not the whole thing, you
- 52:29Speaker 6: can pick apart and apply that to your life or
- 52:32Speaker 6: just say this is something that I can overcome and
- 52:36Speaker 6: and and don't do that, you know, and just stay
- 52:39Speaker 6: on that path. But you're all beautiful, you know. I
- 52:43Speaker 6: hope to meet you all one day. You know. We
- 52:46Speaker 6: got to figure out how we could do that, you know.
- 52:49Speaker 6: But I'm just saying thank you, and definitely to doctor.
- 52:52Speaker 11: Carolyn when I when I meet you all, I hope
- 52:57Speaker 11: I have my copy of Sacred Seed in my hands
- 52:59Speaker 11: or y'all sign y'all chapter for me that I hope
- 53:03Speaker 11: I have the calm and sister calm down and do
- 53:05Speaker 11: that because I'm too excited.
- 53:08Speaker 4: Sorry, you know what I'm saying.
- 53:09Speaker 2: I might be.
- 53:09Speaker 11: Like, oh my god, that's farn for real?
- 53:12Speaker 2: Are you kidding me?
- 53:13Speaker 13: Right?
- 53:14Speaker 12: Oh my god, that's in person.
- 53:17Speaker 11: I'm gonna try to be cool though, and I want
- 53:20Speaker 11: you all to autograph your chapters in my book.
- 53:24Speaker 9: When we do meet in person, y'all are gonna have
- 53:27Speaker 9: to look down for me because I'm the shortest.
- 53:29Speaker 10: One in the group.
- 53:30Speaker 4: Oh my goodness.
- 53:33Speaker 9: So I am only four eight, so you're definitely going
- 53:37Speaker 9: to have to look down for me. I won't be
- 53:40Speaker 9: in the in amongst the tall folks. I'm gonna be
- 53:44Speaker 9: over with the children because they tend to with them, so.
- 53:53Speaker 10: I'm not too far from you.
- 53:55Speaker 6: I'm only five four, so who's five for?
- 53:58Speaker 9: Oh? Well, see you still talk me, baby, I'm I'm right.
- 54:01Speaker 10: There, my seven year olds.
- 54:05Speaker 7: Cool book there.
- 54:06Speaker 9: And I realized how we only see each other so
- 54:09Speaker 9: many times just through video. So when everybody in person,
- 54:13Speaker 9: I'm literally the shortest in the room because I did
- 54:16Speaker 9: not know Gina was tall. I did not know Cynthia
- 54:19Speaker 9: was tall. You see these pictures, I'm literally the shortest person.
- 54:25Speaker 9: So now you get to be the shortest person. And
- 54:28Speaker 9: I'm always in the front because if I get in
- 54:31Speaker 9: the back to take any pictures I get lost. My
- 54:34Speaker 9: kids are always like, ma, let me hold your hand
- 54:37Speaker 9: because we're going in a crowded place. And I'm like,
- 54:40Speaker 9: but i'm your mom, you don't have to hold my hand.
- 54:44Speaker 9: And they're like, no, we have to hold your hand,
- 54:45Speaker 9: and they're like, we're just gonna get a balloon to
- 54:48Speaker 9: tie it on you when you get lost in the
- 54:50Speaker 9: store because we can't find you because you blend into
- 54:53Speaker 9: the racks and things.
- 54:54Speaker 10: So yeah, I am that short.
- 54:58Speaker 13: So are you so glad that I had a chance
- 55:01Speaker 13: to collaborate with you all? When I read all of
- 55:04Speaker 13: you all's bios and I said, oh, these are some
- 55:07Speaker 13: boss babes. You all are so humble when we come together,
- 55:13Speaker 13: it does not get any better than that. So I
- 55:16Speaker 13: am honored to be in the book with you all
- 55:18Speaker 13: and my name. Just to be able to be amongst
- 55:21Speaker 13: you all's bios from such humble women who's gone through
- 55:26Speaker 13: so much and so resilient and won't stop and willing
- 55:31Speaker 13: to tell the story for the next man, it just
- 55:33Speaker 13: humbles me down. So I thank you all. It is
- 55:37Speaker 13: such a pleasure, and I cannot wait to meet you
- 55:39Speaker 13: all and you won't miss me because I am six
- 55:41Speaker 13: feets get lost in the crowd.
- 55:49Speaker 7: So that's been an honor for me to meet you all.
- 55:52Speaker 14: I mean to you know, kind of like collaborate with
- 55:54Speaker 14: you all, and you all are some powerhouses and so for.
- 55:58Speaker 6: Some time too.
- 56:00Speaker 14: Five two.
- 56:01Speaker 17: Okay, I'm short too, but it's honor and I've learned
- 56:06Speaker 17: so much from you all, and your chapters are so
- 56:10Speaker 17: thank you, thank you, thank you.
- 56:16Speaker 6: Well.
- 56:16Speaker 11: I've been chatting or trying to chat with Black Diamond
- 56:20Speaker 11: and sending her Texas to let her know we we
- 56:24Speaker 11: miss her and we're looking for her. So she may
- 56:26Speaker 11: have had some technical difficulty, but I hadn't gotten a
- 56:30Speaker 11: response back from her yet. Queen Angela, I think it's
- 56:36Speaker 11: our host and I'm texting her too to let her know.
- 56:41Speaker 11: I know we're almost out of time.
- 56:45Speaker 13: We want to give just I guess Doctor Stevens just
- 56:48Speaker 13: big shout out again for bringing us together, because if
- 56:51Speaker 13: it was not for her, she's just so innovative, and
- 56:55Speaker 13: not just that she's always willing to just be there
- 56:58Speaker 13: to support us one on one. Talk about a super woman.
- 57:02Speaker 13: I know that she loves God and I know God
- 57:05Speaker 13: has given her all the power, but how does she
- 57:07Speaker 13: does it? I mean she's talking to all of these women,
- 57:10Speaker 13: making sure we're right, you know, setting up flyers for us,
- 57:15Speaker 13: having a sittings. So kudos to you, doctor Stevens. Behalf
- 57:20Speaker 13: of all of us. Yes, hopefully we'll get to collapse.
- 57:25Speaker 13: So by the book, who's ever listening to this? All
- 57:28Speaker 13: these wonderful ladies with such open books, billy good chapters,
- 57:32Speaker 13: wisdom that will help everyone?
- 57:34Speaker 7: Buy the book? Yes, yes, by two books.
- 57:39Speaker 8: Share it with the coworker friend, Yes, you and a
- 57:45Speaker 8: friend yes.
- 57:47Speaker 9: Because you're not gonna want to give him your coffee.
- 57:49Speaker 9: I'm just like.
- 57:56Speaker 2: You.
- 58:00Speaker 13: And then we have the Arthur's Guild coming up. Will
- 58:02Speaker 13: everyone be there?
- 58:05Speaker 7: I will be.
- 58:05Speaker 6: When is that.
- 58:09Speaker 9: November seventh?
- 58:13Speaker 16: Yes? All right?
- 58:16Speaker 13: Seventh words it at Okay, you're the fore.
- 58:25Speaker 7: Part four. Okay, get your ticket too.
- 58:28Speaker 13: You'll get a chance to meet all of us and
- 58:30Speaker 13: get our autograph and get your tickets to that.
- 58:33Speaker 12: Yeah, all right.
- 58:36Speaker 9: The book is available on Amazon as Angela asked me
- 58:39Speaker 9: to close out for a black doma. We don't know
- 58:42Speaker 9: what happened, but as a collective, I know she is
- 58:46Speaker 9: grateful that we all took the time to be here,
- 58:50Speaker 9: to be a part of sacred Sies. Of wisdom to share. Yes, God,
- 59:00Speaker 9: I don't know.
- 59:01Speaker 4: I have no idea.
- 59:02Speaker 5: I was talking and I can hear you, and then
- 59:06Speaker 5: I'm listening to y'all laughing and flap and I'm steady talking.
- 59:10Speaker 4: I'm like, they don't hear me, or they't listening to
- 59:12Speaker 4: what I'm saying. I'm ask this question anyway, I don't care.
- 59:19Speaker 4: My question was if someone walks over y'all.
- 59:23Speaker 5: Look, I mean, know what I'm gona doing. I'm gonna
- 59:25Speaker 5: tell doctor Stevens on.
- 59:26Speaker 4: You guys got your fight on that note. Yeah, I'm
- 59:30Speaker 4: gonna tell it on.
- 59:33Speaker 5: If someone walked away with only one lesson from your chapter,
- 59:37Speaker 5: what do you hope it is?
- 59:42Speaker 9: Walking?
- 59:43Speaker 7: Authentic?
- 59:45Speaker 10: It gets better?
- 59:49Speaker 9: Hate half say.
- 59:50Speaker 6: It does get better, Like you said.
- 59:54Speaker 4: You got the name. Yeah, don't buy everything you heard.
- 59:57Speaker 11: You are an overcomer, you are worthy, You are this.
- 1:00:05Speaker 5: This has been one powerful night of truth, tenderness, and
- 1:00:08Speaker 5: transformation to each of the women who shared their sacred
- 1:00:12Speaker 5: seeds of wisdom. I want to thank you, incredible ladies
- 1:00:15Speaker 5: for being such honor guests tonight. Your voice is a gift.
- 1:00:19Speaker 5: Your stories on medicine, and tell you your stories are medicine.
- 1:00:23Speaker 5: If you haven't already picked up your copy of Sacredcies
- 1:00:26Speaker 5: of Wisdom, I.
- 1:00:27Speaker 4: Highly encourage you to do so. It's more than a book.
- 1:00:31Speaker 5: It's a legacy of healing, strength and truth passed down
- 1:00:34Speaker 5: from women to women.
- 1:00:36Speaker 4: You could reach out to any one of these women
- 1:00:38Speaker 4: to purchase the book.
- 1:00:40Speaker 5: They got them. They're waiting for you to contact them.
- 1:00:42Speaker 5: They're going to sign them and they'll get it right
- 1:00:44Speaker 5: over to you. But don't go too far. We'll be
- 1:00:47Speaker 5: back on a special night on August fourteenth at eight
- 1:00:51Speaker 5: pm Eastern time. Right here on Basis Black After Dark,
- 1:00:55Speaker 5: we're sitting down with new author Eric Blake as he
- 1:00:58Speaker 5: discusses his power, the book, my thoughts, first steps to hear.
- 1:01:03Speaker 5: Trust me, you don't want to miss this raw and
- 1:01:05Speaker 5: inspiring conversation about what it really takes to begin again.
- 1:01:10Speaker 5: Until then, thank you for showing up, thank you for
- 1:01:13Speaker 5: sharing space, and as always, thanks for keeping it basic.
- 1:01:52Speaker 4: Thanks ladies for participating.
- 1:01:54Speaker 5: I have no idea what went on tonight with the
- 1:01:57Speaker 5: sound and the coming and goings of each and every
- 1:02:02Speaker 5: morning and the piercing sounds like that, but this is
- 1:02:06Speaker 5: just not something that normally happened. So I'm going to
- 1:02:10Speaker 5: try to find out what can be done so it
- 1:02:13Speaker 5: could be a smoother transition. I would love to have you, lady,
- 1:02:16Speaker 5: He's back. I'm quite sure you're gonna be in book
- 1:02:18Speaker 5: two when she does it. You seem to have bonded
- 1:02:22Speaker 5: with each other, so it's probably gonna be a smooth sailing.
- 1:02:26Speaker 5: You already know how she works and operates, and you've
- 1:02:28Speaker 5: gotten to know each other. So I'm looking forward to
