- 0:16SPEAKER_00: All the pictures, helping out at Fairfield, Madison.
- 0:24SPEAKER_00: He is not just a handyman, he's a seasoned paranormal investigator and also known as the Godfather of Fentbox.
- 0:30SPEAKER_00: We welcome Jeff Fenn.
- 0:31SPEAKER_00: So how are you doing, Jeff?
- 0:34SPEAKER_05: I'm good, okay.
- 0:35SPEAKER_00: So did that Godfall?
- 0:37SPEAKER_00: I only saw that in the Cleveland Paracon.
- 0:39SPEAKER_00: Did that just come up there, or is that what people call you?
- 0:42SPEAKER_05: Uh I think Adam calls me that.
- 0:44SPEAKER_05: He he has a lot of names, doing it.
- 0:47SPEAKER_05: I hadn't heard that in a little while though.
- 0:50SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I saw pop up on an advertisement for the Cleveland Paracon.
- 0:52SPEAKER_00: I'm like, that fits.
- 0:53SPEAKER_00: That fits.
- 0:55SPEAKER_00: So the host here tonight, Nacho, he's from Verona Ghost Chasers out of PA and Travis, Southern Ohio Paranormal Society out of Southern Ohio, obviously.
- 1:06SPEAKER_00: So we do this podcast once a month, and we like to invite a special guest, someone that's influenced the paranormal, just not in investigating, but all around paranormal.
- 1:17SPEAKER_00: You know, we thought of you so very cool.
- 1:21SPEAKER_04: Very cool.
- 1:22SPEAKER_00: So first question, we'll get right into it.
- 1:24SPEAKER_00: How'd you get into the paranormal and how did it turn into the fence box?
- 1:31SPEAKER_05: Shoot 30 years ago, uh before we bought a house, we were renting a house, and uh I I had a 35 millimeter camera and I would take pictures of the cat or you know, just general pictures of the wife or whatever in the house.
- 1:51SPEAKER_05: And uh I started catching images on my uh on my camera, and it it wouldn't be throughout the whole you know uh role.
- 2:03SPEAKER_05: I would just get one picture here and the next role, one picture there, and and I and I got to the point where okay, there's something wrong with the camera.
- 2:11SPEAKER_05: So I had a camera shop to develop my film.
- 2:14SPEAKER_05: I took the camera down there, the film.
- 2:16SPEAKER_05: Uh I'd even started using like Kodak, or I went to Fuji and I went to another one, and and I would get the same thing.
- 2:23SPEAKER_05: And and I and I took the images, the pictures, the negatives, uh, the camera down there, and I said, You guys tell me if this camera's you know junk, it's causing this, you know, is it developing what and they couldn't find anything wrong.
- 2:38SPEAKER_05: So I would always get pictures of like a hand, it's like a misty hand, or half of a torso, or and it was always in the family room, and it was always towards the front door, and my cat was afraid to go near the front door.
- 2:55SPEAKER_05: And so when we moved out, when we bought a house, I I asked the landlord, I'm like, Do you have anything weird going on in this house?
- 3:04SPEAKER_05: And uh, you know, in between renters, do you hear renters say anything about anything in the family room?
- 3:11SPEAKER_05: And he's like, Well, he says, I don't really tell anybody, but when I'm in there in between renters and I'm painting, I might see out of the corner of my eye, like half a torso float by.
- 3:23SPEAKER_05: I'm like, no way, and he's like, I said, Well, how did you buy this place?
- 3:27SPEAKER_05: And he said, Uh, I was an estate sale, and I'm like, Well, did somebody die in here?
- 3:32SPEAKER_05: And he's like, Yeah, the elderly lady, she died by the front door right there, and I'm like, No way, and I'm like, So I kept track and stayed friends with the guy, and he was renting it out to numerous people, and and after we left, he he had a really hard time keeping people in it because they were having experiences in the house, and and then it went up for sale, and it over probably 10 years, I think that house sold three times.
- 4:03SPEAKER_05: I don't think anybody wanted to live in it, so that's how I got into the paranormal.
- 4:08SPEAKER_05: You know, I was watching Ghost Adventures back then, I was just like, you know, getting into all this stuff, and um, and it all led up to we formed a group, and there was a place called uh the Emmet House in Waverly, Ohio.
- 4:24SPEAKER_05: Um, I don't know if maybe Travis has heard of it.
- 4:26SPEAKER_05: Have you heard of Waverly House?
- 4:28SPEAKER_05: Um, the Emmet House was a a pretty haunted location, it was on like half a city block.
- 4:34SPEAKER_05: Um, our group started uh after another group, we took it over, and uh I became really attached to the place and um and uh became good friends with the new owner, and uh it ends up burning down one night and uh caught fire, burnt down, and I guarded the debris pile, it was such a vast area.
- 5:01SPEAKER_05: The there was an ATM machine and in in the debris.
- 5:05SPEAKER_05: There was uh the lady had a business going on in multiple storefronts in that building, uh, and then at night she closed it down, it was paranormal.
- 5:15SPEAKER_05: And uh so I just had experiences even guarding the debris pile, seeing things, hearing things, and um so I asked her if I could take some of the wood, some of the wood beams from the debris pile, and I started building cabinets.
- 5:34SPEAKER_05: I didn't know how to make them talk, so a guy in Texas he said, I'll make it talk for you.
- 5:40SPEAKER_05: You build me a cabinet, I'll make it talk to talk for you.
- 5:44SPEAKER_05: And all that would come through that box was Emmett House-related stuff, the name Emmett.
- 5:50SPEAKER_05: Um, I have another person that has one right now, and uh still to this day, she can't use it for investigating because all it's it just says Emmett all the time, it doesn't say anything else, you can't use it to investigate.
- 6:04SPEAKER_05: Um, but I just missed the place so much that giving it a voice to talk like that got me going, and then ever since that's why um I build boxes out of the Hensdale House or Madison Seminary or FCI or I I made seven trips to Eloise Hospital with my truck bringing back wood.
- 6:27SPEAKER_05: Uh I think I built one out of the Monroe House.
- 6:30SPEAKER_05: Uh uh you name it.
- 6:33SPEAKER_05: I've probably built a house or a box out of uh you know, wood from those locations, and uh that's that's how it all sort of started.
- 6:44SPEAKER_05: So yeah.
- 6:46SPEAKER_00: That's cool.
- 6:46SPEAKER_00: I mean, they're they're famous.
- 6:48SPEAKER_00: I mean, yeah, I mean you know that, right?
- 6:51SPEAKER_05: Well, yeah, it's uh but it's very interesting because like I built a house, I mean a house.
- 6:59SPEAKER_05: I don't know where I'm getting this house thing from.
- 7:01SPEAKER_05: I build a cabinet out of seven different locations.
- 7:04SPEAKER_05: And when it when I when you fire it up, if you're not asking questions and you just listen to it, you can pick out the locations.
- 7:12SPEAKER_05: You can pick out the Hensdale House, or you can pick out Madison or Fairfield, or you know, it's it's sort of crazy.
- 7:19SPEAKER_05: And uh so I truly believe the energy from those locations rests within the wood and items from those places.
- 7:26SPEAKER_05: I don't know a lot of people don't believe in that, but when you experience it as much as I have over the past 10 years, you you tend to become a believer, and uh yeah.
- 7:40SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I was just at uh down at Coco's with Stephanie and she brought the box that you made her, and it was it was cool.
- 7:48SPEAKER_00: I mean, that was the first time I got to hear her box, and it was uh we got a lot of good stuff out of it, so I mean good.
- 7:56SPEAKER_00: So it was funny.
- 7:57SPEAKER_00: I mean, you know, I messaged you before and asking you, so I'm not gonna ask you on the show.
- 8:01SPEAKER_00: I messaged you before, I'm like, I want a fanbox, but uh so I did the West Theater.
- 8:06SPEAKER_00: I know you're backed up probably like 12 months, so but we were doing a West Theater, and I was that's the first time I met Stephanie, and she was like bragging to me, oh just making me a fanbox, blah blah blah.
- 8:17SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, I've been trying to get one, and not joking, out of the spirits were talking.
- 8:23SPEAKER_00: You texted her that second, your box is done.
- 8:27SPEAKER_00: It was hilarious, it just lined up, like it was it was funny.
- 8:33SPEAKER_05: Yeah, winter months really backs me up because I don't have a I have a shop, I'm sitting in my shop now in my basement, but I I do all the wood cutting, sanding, everything is outside, and and like today, I'm like, oh my gosh, it's like I don't know, four degrees when I get up.
- 8:51SPEAKER_05: I and I got a foot of snow on the ground, and I I just can't do that kind of stuff like right now.
- 8:58SPEAKER_05: So it it really throws me behind.
- 9:01SPEAKER_05: Um day maybe I'll have an end to a dog, but for everybody out there, Jeff does not 3D print these boxes.
- 9:10SPEAKER_00: Like you look at his pictures, he planes them, he cuts them, he sands them, he stains them.
- 9:16SPEAKER_00: I mean, there's a lot of work into them, so it's not like some of these people that just 3D cut out, and there you go.
- 9:22SPEAKER_05: So besides that, there's like Stephanie's Stephanie's box, and I had never core drilled a crystal before.
- 9:33SPEAKER_05: Yeah, that was interesting to core drill that crystal and put LEDs up inside it.
- 9:38SPEAKER_05: I've never done that.
- 9:40SPEAKER_00: She was excited, yeah.
- 9:41SPEAKER_05: There's a lot to the boxes, huh?
- 9:43SPEAKER_05: What's up?
- 9:45SPEAKER_05: She was excited.
- 9:48SPEAKER_04: Oh yeah.
- 9:48SPEAKER_04: That's great.
- 9:50SPEAKER_00: And you know Stephanie, she likes to jump around.
- 9:52SPEAKER_04: So yeah, that's fine.
- 9:56SPEAKER_00: So let's talk about your one video.
- 9:59SPEAKER_00: That just came to mind because I was talking about Stephanie at Madison Seminary when that door opened.
- 10:06SPEAKER_05: That was sort of bizarre.
- 10:09SPEAKER_05: That was back in the beginning when I don't he probably had a place to be.
- 10:16SPEAKER_05: Um I'm there helping him sweeping the floors and just trying to make it look good.
- 10:21SPEAKER_05: I don't know if there was a group coming in or an event that night, and I'm waiting on somebody to get there to and I'm on I'm on one in one hall in that the the main building, and I'm hearing noises in the other hall.
- 10:36SPEAKER_05: My hall's dead silent, the other hall is busy, you know.
- 10:39SPEAKER_05: So I go down there, I'm like, what's going on?
- 10:41SPEAKER_05: And and then when I get to the other side where I just came from, doors are slamming, and you know, it was just crazy.
- 10:49SPEAKER_05: And I went back and forth for a little while, and they're like, crap.
- 10:53SPEAKER_05: So I started filming in that hall, and I was actually getting ready to leave that hall, and I just turned around one last time, and you know, you know, the door I thought was opening and shutting.
- 11:07SPEAKER_05: I'm like, can you open it?
- 11:10SPEAKER_05: You know, come on, come on, open it for me.
- 11:12SPEAKER_05: And the wind was blowing, and uh, you know, I'm thinking that it's just probably the wind or whatever, and and it opens up a little bit and shuts, and then it and I said, Open it, open it, and it opens all the way up, and then I said, Can you slam it?
- 11:29SPEAKER_05: And it slams shut.
- 11:31SPEAKER_05: And what you guys don't see is the dog comes in, Trent comes in, and I show him the video, and I'm like, Okay, you go down that hall and you ask that door to open.
- 11:46SPEAKER_05: I didn't film this because I didn't think anything was gonna happen, and he goes down there, and that door's opening and shutting on command for him, just like it's normal.
- 11:57SPEAKER_05: And yeah, I tend to believe it wasn't the wind.
- 12:01SPEAKER_05: It it what I witnessed after the fact with him, and then I talked to uh a girl that was volunteering there, her name's Letty, and she said that uh she was handing out trick or treat during trick or treat night in that hall to kids, and she asked that door to open and shut and it did.
- 12:21SPEAKER_05: So I don't know.
- 12:23SPEAKER_05: Uh it was pretty cool.
- 12:26SPEAKER_05: Uh Jack Osborne got me on with the Ghost Brothers and and they aired that video on there.
- 12:33SPEAKER_05: I thought that was pretty cool.
- 12:35SPEAKER_00: Um yeah, I talked to Kathy.
- 12:37SPEAKER_00: Was it Kathy Sparrow's husband?
- 12:40SPEAKER_05: Yeah, Tony.
- 12:41SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 12:42SPEAKER_00: He was he's like, he didn't believe it.
- 12:44SPEAKER_00: I talked to him another day.
- 12:45SPEAKER_00: He's like, he didn't believe it.
- 12:46SPEAKER_00: I'm like, no, I mean that door slammed.
- 12:49SPEAKER_00: I mean, you can't like it.
- 12:52SPEAKER_00: It was a good video.
- 12:53SPEAKER_05: If if you think about Madison Seminary and how it's related to uh uh wounded soldiers, their widows, this and that strategic things that go on in that building, that it's it's almost like they played games with you.
- 13:13SPEAKER_05: It's like a strategy, and I think that was their strategy that one day was just gonna mess with me, and then and then they did what I asked them to do finally after they messed with me for a while.
- 13:27SPEAKER_00: Yeah, oh good video.
- 13:31SPEAKER_05: If I'm at FCI working on a place by myself, I've I've had to train myself not to go looking for something during the time I'm working because I'll waste a whole I wasted my very first day thinking somebody was in the building and there was nobody there.
- 13:49SPEAKER_05: So you're like, okay, well that's really cool, but I can't go look for you because I'm not gonna find you.
- 13:56SPEAKER_05: It's they're just like way wasting my time.
- 14:00SPEAKER_05: Um so you you have to get that mindset that it's cool to experience stuff when you're there working on, but you just can't go home for it.
- 14:12SPEAKER_00: Oh, let's see.
- 14:13SPEAKER_00: Uh Travis, do you have any questions?
- 14:14SPEAKER_00: Sorry, I'm talking too much here.
- 14:17SPEAKER_03: We're good.
- 14:18SPEAKER_03: Uh not right now.
- 14:19SPEAKER_02: Uh so Joe, gotcha.
- 14:22SPEAKER_02: Um, do you do you have do you have a favorite place that you like to investigate at?
- 14:27SPEAKER_05: Um I like them all.
- 14:31SPEAKER_05: Uh probably the one that I spend a lot of time at, and I don't even spend time in the house, is the Hensdale house.
- 14:41SPEAKER_05: I I spend a lot of my time um either up in the woods or down where the hanging tree was, um, because of what I've experienced there with Daniel and and quite a few other people, uh especially the hanging tree where it used to stand when you come off the uh main drag and go up the lane before you turn to go over to the ends dolls.
- 15:06SPEAKER_05: Um that is a trip.
- 15:08SPEAKER_05: If you know where it is, um you you need uh to make a visit to that spot.
- 15:16SPEAKER_05: Um, but you don't want to stop a vehicle there because you'll have vehicle problems.
- 15:20SPEAKER_05: And if you don't have vehicle problems immediately, you will later.
- 15:23SPEAKER_05: And and I've witnessed it.
- 15:24SPEAKER_05: I was told the very first time I went there, don't stop.
- 15:28SPEAKER_05: If you know where that tree is, don't stop.
- 15:31SPEAKER_05: Um, just walk down.
- 15:33SPEAKER_05: And uh sure as shit.
- 15:35SPEAKER_05: I mean, I didn't really believe it.
- 15:38SPEAKER_05: And then uh my friend Brandy, she stopped down there on the way up, and later that night we're sitting around a bonfire, her her car alarm goes off, her windows are going up and down, her lights are flashing.
- 15:51SPEAKER_05: It just and we couldn't get to shut off, and finally it went dead.
- 15:55SPEAKER_05: And that next morning we couldn't even jump.
- 15:57SPEAKER_05: We had that battery was so dead.
- 16:00SPEAKER_05: I mean, we had to go get her a new battery, so and I I said that's because you stopped that hanging tree, but uh, but the hanging tree.
- 16:10SPEAKER_05: Um Daniel says there's a soul collector there, his name's Zeb.
- 16:17SPEAKER_05: And if you go down there with a ghost box, we went down as a group, a candlelight group, during a three-day campout, and the most craziest things happened when Aurora Swanhild started calling down archangels to do battle with Zeb.
- 16:36SPEAKER_05: Daniel's ghost box, you could hear all this turmoil going on and people asking for help, and uh, you could hear this and it shut him down, and then Daniel's box went dead.
- 16:49SPEAKER_05: And as she called down each one of these archangels, I'll always remember it.
- 16:53SPEAKER_05: And I told Daniel after the fact we should have filmed this.
- 16:56SPEAKER_05: It was like I was in some kind of crazy ass movie or something.
- 17:00SPEAKER_05: Uh, you could feel the archangels hit the ground as she called him down, it was just crazy, and his box just went dead.
- 17:08SPEAKER_05: And and he said, uh, Zeb killed my box.
- 17:12SPEAKER_05: And so we're walking back up to the house, and I said, Daniel, turn your box on.
- 17:16SPEAKER_05: And and um he said, Jeff, it's not gonna come on, something's wrong with it.
- 17:21SPEAKER_05: And I said, Turn it on, and he turns it on, and and I think Daniel said, Who turned my box off?
- 17:30SPEAKER_05: Um, and this beautiful voice came through and said, We did.
- 17:34SPEAKER_05: And then I said, Were any of them able to go to the light?
- 17:38SPEAKER_05: And that same beautiful voice came through and said, Uh, we were able to lift them up.
- 17:43SPEAKER_05: So, ever since then, that's where I go.
- 17:45SPEAKER_05: I I'm down there trying to bring souls back up to send the light up by the Hinsdale house.
- 17:54SPEAKER_05: Um and no matter who I take down there, they experience the same things that I'm telling you about that I've experienced.
- 18:02SPEAKER_05: It doesn't matter who it is.
- 18:06SPEAKER_05: But Daniel says it doesn't matter how many you set free and send the light, uh, he'll have collected that many by the this time tomorrow.
- 18:15SPEAKER_05: He's a soul collector.
- 18:18SPEAKER_05: It's a bizarre thing when you think about it, but it's at the real side of the real Hensdale hanging tree where they used to hang people.
- 18:29SPEAKER_05: So I don't know.
- 18:31SPEAKER_05: But that's my favorite place to go do what I do with trying to save souls.
- 18:44SPEAKER_02: We were just there uh in October.
- 18:47SPEAKER_02: We really didn't get to be outside much because it was a torrential downpour the entire time we were there.
- 18:53SPEAKER_02: Um but we had a blast in the house.
- 18:55SPEAKER_02: Um and we had a few minutes outside up on the hill with the offering tree, and then we had to go.
- 19:01SPEAKER_02: But um definitely gonna take another trip back out and hope for better weather.
- 19:06SPEAKER_05: When you're making your boxes for people, do you do you make the box with with the person in mind and to their specification or do you make them the have you seen the picture of the puckwaji I caught years ago up there?
- 19:24SPEAKER_05: No, that's right.
- 19:28SPEAKER_00: Which one was it?
- 19:29SPEAKER_05: Just make boxes to sell with nobody boxes to sell because I had more time, and they weren't like specific to the person, but anymore, that's why I'm so lined up with boxes and they're all like uh personal requests.
- 19:48SPEAKER_05: So yeah, the most anymore they are uh made to what that person wants, um, or how they see a box being, if that answers your question.
- 20:04SPEAKER_02: I think if if I was to get a box, I would want you to make a box for what wherever the whatever the wood is telling you to make.
- 20:15SPEAKER_02: I you know, what whatever the spirits are telling you to make that box to be, I I don't want influence, I would want your influence or the or the spirits of of the the wood to tell you where the wood came from to tell you how to make it.
- 20:28SPEAKER_02: Wouldn't that make more sense?
- 20:30SPEAKER_05: That does happen from time to time.
- 20:33SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I I I have people that I mean I might take their logo and have it lasered into the wood or or something like that, but in general, most of the box is my idea, but it it's sort of uh my reflection on what I see that person wanting.
- 20:53SPEAKER_05: I don't know, I just get a feeling for the person.
- 20:55SPEAKER_05: I talk to them for a while before I build it, and uh sometimes they just cut me loose um with no direction, so to say, and it ends up being something that they really like.
- 21:08SPEAKER_05: So yeah.
- 21:11SPEAKER_01: Let's get this out there too that it's my turn.
- 21:13SPEAKER_02: That's what I want.
- 21:16SPEAKER_04: Okay, you're you're after me now, Joe.
- 21:18SPEAKER_04: Come on.
- 21:18SPEAKER_02: No, I'm I'm I'm way down the road.
- 21:20SPEAKER_02: I haven't even got on the list, but whenever my time comes, that's that's what I want.
- 21:25SPEAKER_02: I just I just want it done naturally, however, however you get to that point.
- 21:31SPEAKER_00: Okay, well, I I do want to get one thing out there though.
- 21:34SPEAKER_00: Jeff makes a lot of boxes for donation too, for to help like add them.
- 21:39SPEAKER_00: You make one for Mad Con every I don't know about every year, but made one last year to raffle off, right?
- 21:46SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I make I make a raffle box for F S Vicon, Mad Con, the Gettysburg Bash, um Uh Nick and Bree, their deal over there in uh Fort Wayne.
- 22:06SPEAKER_05: I made one for there.
- 22:07SPEAKER_05: I'll probably make them one every year.
- 22:09SPEAKER_05: Um once in a while I'll make one.
- 22:12SPEAKER_05: Like I'm gonna make one for Daniel to raffle off.
- 22:16SPEAKER_05: Um it helps with things that he needs to do there.
- 22:21SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 22:21SPEAKER_05: Um if somebody's in need, um, like one of my friends, uh one of my friends who had surgery and couldn't work for three months.
- 22:31SPEAKER_05: I built a box to be raffled off um to help her out.
- 22:36SPEAKER_05: I I do do that stuff, yeah.
- 22:39SPEAKER_05: Um, I think it's I I like helping places.
- 22:43SPEAKER_05: Um they always need something.
- 22:45SPEAKER_00: It's important.
- 22:46SPEAKER_00: I mean, Adam always donates a lot of money.
- 22:49SPEAKER_00: And you know, I've never really taught to Adam personally over the phone a couple times.
- 22:54SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but I always bring him up how much he does for the community.
- 22:59SPEAKER_00: I I love it.
- 23:00SPEAKER_00: I mean it's it's amazing, and same with you, what you do too.
- 23:04SPEAKER_00: It is amazing what you guys do, and people always say like para unity is dead, it's not it it's in I just had a discussion about this not that long ago.
- 23:17SPEAKER_05: It's like in clicks, like I don't know.
- 23:20SPEAKER_05: Uh definitely our area seems to get along fairly well.
- 23:25SPEAKER_05: There's a few bad ones in the mix.
- 23:30SPEAKER_05: The east coast has its own deal going on.
- 23:33SPEAKER_05: There's not everybody over there gets along either.
- 23:37SPEAKER_05: Uh but I don't think per unity, man, I hate to just in my eyes, it doesn't really exist.
- 23:48SPEAKER_05: It's it's sort of groups and people that get along, that's that's their own little paraunity.
- 23:57SPEAKER_05: It's there I I just did a live uh two days ago about somebody uh saying horrible things to a friend of mine.
- 24:07SPEAKER_05: I think she lives out in Kansas, most sweetest lady in the world.
- 24:11SPEAKER_05: And they they said, uh, you live a privileged life.
- 24:16SPEAKER_05: Uh you know, you they just were saying horrible things to us.
- 24:20SPEAKER_05: So she made a post, she never really comments on it.
- 24:23SPEAKER_05: But making her hurtful comments to people uh really doesn't serve a purpose.
- 24:30SPEAKER_05: And and I and in that live feed, I talked about Adam.
- 24:34SPEAKER_05: Adam was talking about probably a month ago about what a gift it is that you're even here, because your parents had to meet each other, their parents had to meet each other.
- 24:45SPEAKER_05: It just goes back in time, and you know, it all led up to you being here.
- 24:50SPEAKER_05: What are you gonna do?
- 24:51SPEAKER_05: Waste your time, you know, being a horrible person, and you know, you should be out there doing things for people and and and making you know your life as good as it can be, not out trashing and and bashing people, you know, it's like it's not right.
- 25:09SPEAKER_05: So the paranoia the par I don't even like hearing the word parent unity.
- 25:16SPEAKER_00: I mean it's grown up all the time.
- 25:19SPEAKER_05: It it doesn't it sort of exists, but it doesn't.
- 25:23SPEAKER_05: So I mean I don't know.
- 25:25SPEAKER_00: Uh my philosophy, it does, okay.
- 25:27SPEAKER_00: I mean, this is where I'm coming from, but just like life, there are people that you talk to and be like, you know, that's not for me.
- 25:38SPEAKER_00: It's the same thing as the paranormal groups.
- 25:40SPEAKER_00: There might be someone that we don't see eye to eye, and that's fine.
- 25:44SPEAKER_00: Move on, there's no reason to pass them, just move on, right?
- 25:49SPEAKER_00: Right, and and it's the same thing in life.
- 25:52SPEAKER_00: Like, if you don't get along with someone or you don't see eye to eye, just move on.
- 25:56SPEAKER_00: It's fine.
- 25:57SPEAKER_00: So, I mean, I think parent unity does exist.
- 26:00SPEAKER_00: I'm not saying that's a goal of mine, is to create parent unity.
- 26:05SPEAKER_00: I've met a lot of great groups.
- 26:07SPEAKER_00: I mean, I'm going over to UK in June because of the groups I had on a podcast.
- 26:14SPEAKER_00: I mean, it's it's there, yeah.
- 26:18SPEAKER_00: But if you have a problem with it in the drama, I would say look in the mirror.
- 26:23SPEAKER_00: Maybe the drama is you.
- 26:25SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 26:26SPEAKER_04: Yep.
- 26:27SPEAKER_00: That's all I'm gonna say about that because I don't want to get go down that rabbit hole.
- 26:30SPEAKER_00: That's a whole nother podcast.
- 26:32SPEAKER_00: Um, yep.
- 26:38SPEAKER_04: Yep, I agree.
- 26:42SPEAKER_00: So, I mean, paranormal wise, let's get off the front box stuff because it is what it is.
- 26:47SPEAKER_00: Well, well, the frontbox wants, I know you want Stephanie wanted a dollhouse, and it it just could not happen.
- 26:53SPEAKER_00: And she said you tried so hard.
- 26:59SPEAKER_05: I mean, I just couldn't picture it.
- 27:02SPEAKER_05: I mean, I I couldn't I it was like and I don't know.
- 27:11SPEAKER_05: I it it just led to what she has now.
- 27:14SPEAKER_05: I mean I mean, if she hadn't asked me for the dollhouse, then maybe you know she wouldn't have ended up with the box that she has now.
- 27:22SPEAKER_05: It all, you know, one thing leads into another.
- 27:26SPEAKER_05: Um I had a lady that I bought three different tube radios thinking each one was perfect for, and then once I got them and started looking at them, um and I've actually built them for other people, but it wasn't it wasn't what she was intended to get.
- 27:44SPEAKER_05: So she I just built her one, you know.
- 27:48SPEAKER_05: I just created the box instead of buying uh an existing radio to convert for.
- 27:53SPEAKER_05: I don't know.
- 27:54SPEAKER_05: It's almost I bought something today that I had no intentions of buying.
- 28:00SPEAKER_05: It's a heart-shaped uh trinket box that's so intricate, it's it's from Japan, it's very old, and I was just gonna take the lid off of it, and that was gonna be mounted on the outside of a box, and uh um, and I just because I jumped on it on eBay to look at it, they sent me an offer.
- 28:21SPEAKER_05: I had forgotten it, I even looked at it, and I said, Okay, that's a good offer.
- 28:25SPEAKER_05: I'm gonna buy it, I'm gonna buy it.
- 28:27SPEAKER_05: I mean, I I can use that, and I bought it, and um a lady that used to be part of my paranormal group, like 15, maybe back in 2012, um reached out to me in Messenger and said, uh, if you still have that, I would like you to make a box with that in it for me because it reminds me of my mother.
- 28:54SPEAKER_05: And uh she says, I can't believe you found something like that.
- 28:58SPEAKER_05: She said, It just reminds me of my mother, and she was murdered back in 2015.
- 29:04SPEAKER_05: And uh when I seen that, all I can think about is my mother.
- 29:09SPEAKER_05: So, can you please make a box with that in it for me?
- 29:13SPEAKER_05: And I'm like, sure, and she had dropped off the map like in 2015.
- 29:18SPEAKER_05: I hadn't heard from her in years and years and years, and now all of a sudden she's back in the picture, and she's it must have been the right timing because she she came back right when I purchased that, you know.
- 29:33SPEAKER_05: It it's sort of bizarre how things work, um, but uh but yeah.
- 29:42SPEAKER_05: I I I sort of look at a lot of these boxes as uh they're already pre-decided what they're going to be.
- 29:50SPEAKER_05: I'm just sort of helping make them reality in a way.
- 29:54SPEAKER_05: It's it's sort of bizarre.
- 29:56SPEAKER_05: I try not to think about it too much, but it it it trips me out at times.
- 30:02SPEAKER_00: It's emotional.
- 30:03SPEAKER_00: I mean, I you created Barbara's fanbox, the smaller one from up here.
- 30:08SPEAKER_00: I think Barbara Allen is her name, but uh from Riders Inn.
- 30:12SPEAKER_00: She does Riders Inn, but you have her some of her mom's stuff in there too.
- 30:15SPEAKER_00: It's uh she was telling me the story when I was investigating with her.
- 30:19SPEAKER_00: It was pretty emotional for her and me.
- 30:23SPEAKER_05: You uh it affects you after a while.
- 30:27SPEAKER_05: Um, cuz you'll know this happy person that you know you have a good time with paranormal hunts, and then and then they ask you to build a box and they want you to include something in it or or do something special with it, and then you hear their their story, and it's so sad, you know, they've they don't really talk about you know the the brother that they lost or their mom or their dad or lost both of them at the same time, or you know, or they lost their daughter or son, you know, you you don't know those stories, and then so you end up finding out a whole different side of them that you never knew, and and over a period of time it sort of does uh it does uh affect you.
- 31:15SPEAKER_05: I mean uh because you're building something special for them and you and you and you stress, I stress out about it's it it has to be special, and if I I'm not gonna build it if it's not special, it has to mean a lot to them.
- 31:30SPEAKER_05: So that's why sometimes it takes me a little bit longer because I may sit that box off to the side and think about it.
- 31:36SPEAKER_05: I'm like, what what else can I do to make this thing even more special for this person?
- 31:41SPEAKER_05: So that's that's another uh drawback to my building.
- 31:46SPEAKER_05: I I just can't whip them out like a you know factory assembly line.
- 31:51SPEAKER_05: I I just don't feel right doing that.
- 31:54SPEAKER_05: It's not it's not what they do.
- 31:55SPEAKER_03: You're putting your passion into it and stuff, and like you said, you you have a uh sometimes you have quite a bit of help for the spirits and stuff.
- 32:02SPEAKER_03: If you're just gonna whip it out and everything, it's not gonna have that meaning that the person's looking for and stuff, right?
- 32:09SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 32:10SPEAKER_00: And that's what makes it special.
- 32:12SPEAKER_00: I'll tell you right now, Jeff.
- 32:13SPEAKER_00: I mean, I think Nacho and Travis will they know me a little bit, how I investigate.
- 32:19SPEAKER_00: You're keeping memories alive.
- 32:22SPEAKER_00: That's awesome.
- 32:24SPEAKER_00: Not gonna get too much into it.
- 32:26SPEAKER_00: A lot of people like doing parametication because they want to know what's on the other side, blah blah blah.
- 32:30SPEAKER_00: You know, free spirits.
- 32:32SPEAKER_00: I'm about keeping their memories alive.
- 32:34SPEAKER_00: That's why I do this.
- 32:36SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 32:37SPEAKER_00: So you're doing that through your crafts craftsmanship, and that's unbelievable to me.
- 32:44SPEAKER_03: So I mean, I know you said you kind of sometimes it takes, but like uh just in a bar park like on average for a special box and everything, what's the average timeline that it sometimes takes you for if if I can work on it every evening and I've got free weekends maybe three weeks?
- 33:16SPEAKER_05: I mean, it's it's if if I'm making that cabinet, so I'm I'm cutting up a beam or I'm cutting up wood, okay?
- 33:24SPEAKER_05: Yeah, and then I've and then I've got to glue those boards together in different sections, and then I've gotta cut that out, and then I've gotta glue it, and then I gotta cut an inner border for it, and then I gotta cut openings up in it, and then I gotta sand it, and then I I gotta find all the parts to go in it, like the bubble glass, the old tube radio dial plate, and then I gotta like find all the parts, and then I gotta like figure out how I'm gonna mesh all this together, and then I gotta put the finish on it, so then I stain it, and then I put two or three coats of polyurethane on it, and then and then I put it together.
- 34:01SPEAKER_05: It's when you think about it, and I work a normal job, I'm a maintenance guy, and sometimes I have to work a little bit later, or I have to work evenings, and then if I'm helping at locations or or doing something, or like the enchanted church, I watched that for my friends, uh, and they got you know seven, eight dogs, and I may watch that place for four days in a row, it just it all uh adds up into that time span of you know how much time do I actually have to work on this box, so um it gets a little rough, and then I might like right now, I have multiple tube radios that I'm working on all at the same time because I can do that during the winter, but building the cabinets takes a lot a lot longer.
- 34:50SPEAKER_05: If that explains it to you.
- 34:53SPEAKER_03: Oh no, I mean, I I was just curious on that and everything, and uh I I I know a little bit about woodworking and everything, and I used to dabble in it and love it and everything.
- 35:03SPEAKER_03: But do you ever feel like when you're doing these boxes that uh you lose a little bit piece of you because you're but putting your like your blood, sweat, and tears into it?
- 35:13SPEAKER_05: Um I uh I'm trying to do as much as I can while I'm still able to.
- 35:24SPEAKER_05: And uh, you know, I I thought a lot about that.
- 35:27SPEAKER_05: Like in my younger years, I just I was a wild child and uh and just wasted so much time just doing stupid things and going places.
- 35:39SPEAKER_05: I I'd go out of town and work quite a bit, which was fun of doing working on hurricane damage on poles and stuff, but um the stuff I'm doing now is more meaningful to me.
- 35:53SPEAKER_05: So if I can do it another five, ten years, I'm gonna do it.
- 35:57SPEAKER_05: I'm gonna make as many boxes and help as many people as I can because I know my time's coming.
- 36:02SPEAKER_05: I'm I'll be 65 this year, and uh um maybe I can keep doing it another 10-15 years.
- 36:10SPEAKER_05: I don't know, maybe five.
- 36:12SPEAKER_05: I may be gone tomorrow, you never know, you know.
- 36:15SPEAKER_05: So it it doesn't seem like I'm you know losing a part of myself spending so much time doing it, but it's what I get enjoyment out of doing is is is making them and helping people, and and I love working on old buildings, so so anyways.
- 36:34SPEAKER_03: It wasn't really kind of like meaning that uh it was more like uh because I I kind of believe in when you like uh building these devices and everything to help us to try to discover the unknown and stuff.
- 36:47SPEAKER_03: Um when we put our attention to it and everything, sometimes I feel like we might lose a little bit of our spirit into it.
- 36:55SPEAKER_03: Like what we're our intent we're putting into rubber on it.
- 37:00SPEAKER_05: Yeah, the only thing that happens to me is I get more emotional about things because maybe because I'm dealing with death quite a bit.
- 37:13SPEAKER_05: With these a lot of these boxes I build are hopefully, and there's no guarantee, there's no guarantee at all that somebody can talk to somebody that's passed away, but I a lot of my boxes are dedicated to somebody that this person wants to talk to.
- 37:31SPEAKER_05: And like I was telling you, you you hear their stories in it, and over a long period of time, if you you you hear a story in it, and then you it just affects me emotionally a lot.
- 37:44SPEAKER_05: I mean there's there's I can't there's P I can't go to funerals no more because um I get too emotional.
- 37:56SPEAKER_05: I don't know.
- 37:56SPEAKER_05: I uh I used to be the person that you know was totally fine.
- 38:01SPEAKER_05: I was the one that held it together at a funeral or something.
- 38:04SPEAKER_05: We have funerals where I work, and if they have a funeral where I work, because it's uh it's a church daycare facility, an old Columbus Public School, that they put a church on the front and I I have to leave.
- 38:18SPEAKER_05: I can't be there.
- 38:19SPEAKER_05: So I don't know.
- 38:20SPEAKER_05: It it's sort of an emotional toll more than anything, if if that's what you're asking.
