- 0:00Speaker 1: The Hauraki Big Show.
- 0:02Speaker 2: Thanks to Craveworthy Street Food.
- 0:05Speaker 1: Freshly made with Reburger.
- 0:07Speaker 2: Welcome to the Hauraki Big Show.
- 0:12Speaker 3: Really big. With Jason Hoyt, Mike Minogue and Keezy. Actually, Keezy,
- 0:19Speaker 3: do you play the sexy music? I'm feeling a bit
- 0:21Speaker 3: sexy today. Oh, g'day New Zealand. Hope you're having a
- 0:30Speaker 3: great Thursday afternoon. It's the 10th of September, 2026, and you,
- 0:36Speaker 3: my friends, as always, listening to The Big Show, and
- 0:40Speaker 3: it's brought to you by Reburger.
- 0:46Speaker 1: Crave-worthy street food.
- 0:48Speaker 3: Oh, you just ruined it. Sorry.
- 0:52Speaker 1: I just completely lost it then.
- 0:53Speaker 3: I had a half.
- 0:54Speaker 1: Yes.
- 0:54Speaker 3: And it's gone.
- 0:55Speaker 4: I know.
- 0:56Speaker 3: Bring it back.
- 0:56Speaker 1: Are you ready? Bring it back.
- 0:59Speaker 3: God, as always, never ceases to amaze me. Look at you, Mogie,
- 1:06Speaker 3: and your massive white pullover. Looking like an absolute stallion.
- 1:14Speaker 3: You could wear a potato sack and you'd still be hot.
- 1:18Speaker 3: How's life, mate?
- 1:19Speaker 1: Getting pretty grousey, you mad dog. You sick son of
- 1:22Speaker 1: a bee. I'm wearing my, I like to call it
- 1:23Speaker 1: my boyfriend's sweater.
- 1:25Speaker 3: Sure.
- 1:26Speaker 1: So picture, if you will, old Mogie. He's naked in
- 1:30Speaker 1: bed after quite a vigorous night of lovemaking, Keezy.
- 1:34Speaker 3: A night of it. A night of it, man. He
- 1:35Speaker 3: rolls out of.
- 1:36Speaker 1: Bed there, a couple of kilos of sleep in each
- 1:40Speaker 1: corner of his eye, reaches to the ground to find
- 1:43Speaker 1: something to cover up with, and all he can find
- 1:45Speaker 1: is his boyfriend's oversized sweater.
- 1:48Speaker 3: Yeah. I get your vibe. I'm getting it.
- 1:51Speaker 1: And that's what I've got on now, Keezy. I wondered
- 1:53Speaker 1: why you weren't wearing pants. Oatmeal.
- 1:56Speaker 2: What?
- 1:57Speaker 1: I know you're wondering what the colour was, Keezy.
- 1:58Speaker 3: It's oatmeal. Is that oatmeal?
- 1:59Speaker 5: Yeah, it is.
- 2:00Speaker 1: That's oatmeal.
- 2:00Speaker 3: I said white. It's definitely not white. It's oatmeal. Oatmeal.
- 2:04Speaker 1: What about you, Keezy? What are you wearing? G'day, fellas.
- 2:07Speaker 1: I've got my Tony jacket on.
- 2:09Speaker 5: Yeah, man.
- 2:10Speaker 1: Yeah, you too.
- 2:11Speaker 3: My Waz hat.
- 2:12Speaker 1: I'm ready for a big Thursday, man.
- 2:14Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah.
- 2:14Speaker 1: It feels like a Friday. Can I say that?
- 2:16Speaker 3: Yeah, it does.
- 2:17Speaker 1: I'm not happy. Should we make it Friday?
- 2:19Speaker 3: Okay. Thursday is always my hump day because it's so
- 2:23Speaker 3: close to Friday, you know what I mean?
- 2:24Speaker 1: It's a bit of a, it's just edging you around there,
- 2:26Speaker 1: isn't it?
- 2:26Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah.
- 2:28Speaker 1: Now, Jase, I don't want to offend you there. I
- 2:29Speaker 1: know you don't generally like this question, but is that
- 2:32Speaker 1: a new jersey? Because I don't think I've seen it
- 2:35Speaker 1: as a North Face black hoodie. I get the feeling
- 2:38Speaker 1: that it's potentially new to you, but it's not new
- 2:40Speaker 1: because it's lost the, it's a hoodie and it's lost
- 2:43Speaker 1: a string around the neck there that would normally be
- 2:45Speaker 1: in the holes.
- 2:46Speaker 3: I'll be honest with you, Mogey. It's a hoodie that
- 2:48Speaker 3: I normally wear around home, but, and I really like it.
- 2:52Speaker 4: It's really warm and comfortable.
- 2:53Speaker 1: It looks comfy.
- 2:55Speaker 4: But my daughter always steals it.
- 2:57Speaker 6: Always.
- 2:58Speaker 3: And I'm always walking around the house effing and jeffing going,
- 3:00Speaker 3: where's my damn sweater? And then I realised my daughter's
- 3:04Speaker 3: got it. So she gave it back to me today,
- 3:06Speaker 3: so I'm wearing it today.
- 3:08Speaker 1: And what happened to the drawstring in the neck?
- 3:10Speaker 3: I yanked it. Yeah, you did. What's happening on The
- 3:18Speaker 3: Big Show with Old Mogi.
- 3:21Speaker 1: Another day, another opportunity to get yourself into the draw
- 3:23Speaker 1: for Would You Rather. It's Waz or Cars. Listen out
- 3:26Speaker 1: for the cue to call and you might find yourself
- 3:29Speaker 1: the winner of one of the greatest trips of all time.
- 3:33Speaker 1: Also going to be having a bit of a chat
- 3:34Speaker 1: to you, Hoare J. You've had an issue, man.
- 3:36Speaker 3: Yeah, I really do.
- 3:37Speaker 1: You had another dining out issue. I guess when you
- 3:40Speaker 1: spend all your time dining out, that's where you're going
- 3:42Speaker 1: to have your issues.
- 3:42Speaker 3: For sure. For sure.
- 3:43Speaker 1: But coming up next, fellas, we asked a question. The
- 3:46Speaker 1: Big Show asked, can AI be used for good? I
- 3:49Speaker 1: saw something on social media last night that makes me
- 3:52Speaker 1: think maybe it can. It gets a bad rap, doesn't it, AI?
- 3:55Speaker 3: Yeah, man.
- 3:56Speaker 1: I'd be interested to hear about this one.
- 3:58Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 3:58Speaker 1: Because I've had negative experiences with it.
- 4:03Speaker 4: Here's Audioslave.
- 4:05Speaker 2: The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from 4 on Radio Hauraki.
- 4:09Speaker 3: Yes indeed, Sheehan there on the Hauraki Big Show this
- 4:13Speaker 3: Thursday afternoon, the time 15 minutes past 4 o'clock.
- 4:16Speaker 1: Fellas, I was laying in bed last night just thinking.
- 4:20Speaker 3: Oh yeah.
- 4:21Speaker 1: You know? Sometimes I like to do that, Keezy, clear mind.
- 4:24Speaker 1: Just clear my mind and just see what comes to me.
- 4:26Speaker 1: And I was thinking about AI.
- 4:27Speaker 7: Yes.
- 4:28Speaker 3: You heard about this, man? I have heard about it, yeah.
- 4:30Speaker 1: Are you talking about artificial insemination or intelligence?
- 4:33Speaker 7: Intelligence. Artificial intelligence. Have you not heard of artificial intelligence?
- 4:38Speaker 3: No.
- 4:39Speaker 1: Yeah, it's different.
- 4:40Speaker 3: I was thinking insemination. But is there such.
- 4:43Speaker 1: A thing as an artificial insemination, Jase, if there ends
- 4:47Speaker 1: up being a pregnancy in a child born or.
- 4:49Speaker 3: A cow born?
- 4:50Speaker 4: I don't think there is.
- 4:51Speaker 1: It's not the insemination that's artificial. It's the method. It's
- 4:55Speaker 1: the act of sex. That's the thing that's artificial now.
- 4:59Speaker 1: Because oftentimes you'll find, Keezy, rather than having a cow
- 5:05Speaker 1: or a horse, for example, with a penis... you'll have
- 5:09Speaker 1: a vet with a big glove on, and it'll stick
- 5:12Speaker 1: at the end of it.
- 5:13Speaker 3: Yes.
- 5:14Speaker 1: That's the part, to me, that reeks of being artificial. Now,
- 5:17Speaker 1: I've watched videos, and you've watched videos.
- 5:20Speaker 4: Well, I've only watched videos you've sent me.
- 5:22Speaker 1: That's right. We get the one horse there, and the
- 5:25Speaker 1: one horse gets the other horse going. Now, that other
- 5:29Speaker 1: horse is going for it now, and then right at
- 5:31Speaker 1: the last minute, they get rid of that horse, and
- 5:33Speaker 1: then in comes the bloke with the glove on. Oh,
- 5:35Speaker 1: the old switcheroo. The old switcheroo, they call it in
- 5:37Speaker 1: the farming industry, Keezy. Next thing you know, the cow
- 5:42Speaker 1: or horse has been inseminated. So there's nothing artificial about
- 5:46Speaker 1: the insemination. So for me, AI has always been artificial intelligence. Right,
- 5:52Speaker 1: so that's what we're talking about now is the intelligence. Well,
- 5:55Speaker 1: we don't have time now.
- 5:56Speaker 3: We've run out of time.
- 6:00Speaker 1: I mean, we could quickly touch on it if you want. Well,
- 6:03Speaker 1: I was lying in bed last night and I was
- 6:04Speaker 1: watching a video there and it got me thinking that
- 6:08Speaker 1: actually maybe artificial intelligence has got a bad rap because
- 6:10Speaker 1: there's a lot of talk about privacy concerns, Keezy.
- 6:13Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 6:13Speaker 1: Job displacements, like your job's going to be gone soon.
- 6:16Speaker 1: They won't need you for this type of work.
- 6:17Speaker 3: What, on radio?
- 6:18Speaker 1: Well, just the panelling stuff, you know.
- 6:21Speaker 3: It'll all be machines.
- 6:22Speaker 1: But I'm mainly here for my content, though. High development costs,
- 6:28Speaker 1: the waste of water and all that sort of thing.
- 6:29Speaker 1: But there's some really good stuff as well, some real positive.
- 6:32Speaker 7: See, I would disagree because a lot of the stuff
- 6:33Speaker 7: I've seen to do with AI, sure, it can help.
- 6:35Speaker 7: But at this stage, I think it does a lot
- 6:38Speaker 7: more bad than good.
- 6:39Speaker 3: Right.
- 6:39Speaker 1: For example?
- 6:40Speaker 7: So, for example, we use the Hodaki Big Show. We
- 6:44Speaker 7: put a video up last night of the three of
- 6:47Speaker 7: us working at Reburger.
- 6:48Speaker 1: It's quite fun.
- 6:49Speaker 7: Fun little video there. And then someone's put in the
- 6:51Speaker 7: comments a photo of me on all fours. Yeah.
- 6:54Speaker 1: On the floor of Reburger looking back over my shoulder.
- 6:58Speaker 1: Classic Keezy.
- 6:59Speaker 3: Classic Keezy. I know, right?
- 7:00Speaker 1: But then I was like, I don't remember doing that.
- 7:02Speaker 5: No.
- 7:03Speaker 7: And then with Jase's Come Dine With Me video, there
- 7:06Speaker 7: was a photo of me on all fours with Jez
- 7:09Speaker 7: on my back.
- 7:09Speaker 3: Yes.
- 7:10Speaker 1: Not for the first time.
- 7:11Speaker 4: I'll be honest with you.
- 7:12Speaker 3: Jase's cat. I'll be honest with you, Keezy. I think
- 7:15Speaker 3: it's just become unconscious for you. What do you mean? Well,
- 7:17Speaker 3: I think when you get a bit stressed or you're distracted,
- 7:21Speaker 3: it's your natural go-to to go on all fours and
- 7:24Speaker 3: looking over your shoulder. That's right. It's what you do
- 7:26Speaker 3: when you're nervous or anxious.
- 7:28Speaker 1: That's right.
- 7:28Speaker 3: I'd be really concerned if you were going for a
- 7:30Speaker 3: high-powered job interview, for example, and you're freaking out, that
- 7:34Speaker 3: you would suddenly drop on all fours and look over
- 7:36Speaker 3: your shoulder in the interview.
- 7:38Speaker 7: So you're saying that those photos that people have made
- 7:41Speaker 7: aren't actually just AI.
- 7:42Speaker 1: Photos and they actually happened. Yeah, they actually happened. And
- 7:45Speaker 1: it's funny that you use those as an example because
- 7:47Speaker 1: that was exactly what I meant, which was great because
- 7:50Speaker 1: those things actually did happen. And yes, there were images
- 7:53Speaker 1: of you on all fours looking over your shoulder in
- 7:55Speaker 1: one instance. as you say, with jizz on your back. Yeah,
- 7:57Speaker 1: Jase's cat, jizz. But the AI sort of gave you
- 8:02Speaker 1: a tidier haircut.
- 8:03Speaker 3: Yes.
- 8:03Speaker 1: And put on your Tony jacket and another one. I
- 8:05Speaker 1: just thought, what a great use of AI. Just a
- 8:09Speaker 1: slight tweak.
- 8:10Speaker 3: To be fair to Keezy, substantially bigger ass.
- 8:15Speaker 7: My ass is huge in the Reburger one, which, to
- 8:18Speaker 7: be honest, wasn't too upset about.
- 8:20Speaker 3: Yeah. A little bit of extra junk.
- 8:21Speaker 1: But, yeah, I guess that's my point is that, yeah,
- 8:24Speaker 1: if you go and have a look on the Instagram
- 8:26Speaker 1: there anyway, the Hauraki Big Show, have a look at
- 8:27Speaker 1: those images in the comments section and see what you think.
- 8:29Speaker 1: But what are some other examples there, fellas, of AI
- 8:33Speaker 1: being used, like in this example, for good?
- 8:36Speaker 4: Yeah, for good things.
- 8:37Speaker 1: For positive reasons. Well, it's creative, isn't it?
- 8:38Speaker 3: For things that will change the world for the better.
- 8:41Speaker 7: Well, if anyone's got any ideas, 3483, text it through.
- 8:43Speaker 7: $ 50 reburger vouchers up for grabs. And if anyone's had
- 8:47Speaker 7: any experience with the artificial insemination as well.
- 8:50Speaker 5: Yes.
- 8:51Speaker 3: Yes.
- 8:51Speaker 7: Either AI, 3483, $ 50 e-burger vouchers up for grabs.
- 8:55Speaker 4: Yeah, good stuff. We're Stone Temple Pilots.
- 9:01Speaker 2: The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune
- 9:04Speaker 2: in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki.
- 9:06Speaker 3: Green day here on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this
- 9:10Speaker 3: Thursday afternoon. The time is 4.29, which means it's time for....
- 9:18Speaker 7: What's on the news?
- 9:20Speaker 1: With me, Casey. Fellas, huge news right in the tech world.
- 9:28Speaker 7: This morning, Apple announced the new iPhone 18 and the
- 9:32Speaker 7: 18 Pro and the Pro Max, right? So it's the
- 9:35Speaker 7: latest iPhone, blah, blah, who cares?
- 9:36Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 9:37Speaker 7: They also announced their first ever foldable iPhone.
- 9:40Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 9:41Speaker 3: Wow.
- 9:41Speaker 7: Okay, so it's closed and on the front there's a screen,
- 9:44Speaker 7: but if you open it, there's an even bigger screen. Wow.
- 9:45Speaker 3: Folds out like a book.
- 9:46Speaker 7: Now, Samsung and a few other companies have already been
- 9:49Speaker 7: doing this for a while, but the reason I bring
- 9:51Speaker 7: it up is because I would like you to guess...
- 9:55Speaker 7: How much for one of the new Apple foldable phones, right?
- 10:01Speaker 7: let's go for the top level the top level with
- 10:03Speaker 7: two terabyte storage alright so you've got a crap load
- 10:05Speaker 7: of storage.
- 10:05Speaker 1: There two what if you can imagine a big garage
- 10:11Speaker 1: yeah with all your storage so you're putting all your
- 10:13Speaker 1: photos in there and everything like that yes yes now
- 10:16Speaker 1: two of those garages wow yes a big Whereas the
- 10:20Speaker 1: standard person would just have a little garden shed. You've
- 10:22Speaker 1: got a letterbox.
- 10:24Speaker 3: That's huge.
- 10:24Speaker 1: Oh, it's big. Wow, okay.
- 10:26Speaker 7: So you can get it with just the letterbox or
- 10:28Speaker 7: the garden shed, but you've opted for the top-of-the-line double garage.
- 10:31Speaker 3: Can I ask, what phones do you fellas have? What
- 10:35Speaker 3: is this, 18?
- 10:36Speaker 7: I think I've got a 15.
- 10:38Speaker 1: Couldn't tell you. I've got no idea. They all look
- 10:40Speaker 1: exactly the same to me. I don't really care.
- 10:42Speaker 4: I've got a Samsung 86.
- 10:43Speaker 3: You're the man.
- 10:43Speaker 1: So.
- 10:46Speaker 3: Have a guess.
- 10:47Speaker 1: The new foldable iPhone. Two terabyte. You go first, Jase.
- 10:52Speaker 3: I'm going to go 1800.
- 10:55Speaker 5: 1800.
- 10:56Speaker 1: Good guess. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. It's going to be cheap.
- 11:01Speaker 1: I'm going to go three and a half grand. Three
- 11:04Speaker 1: and a half grand.
- 11:04Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 11:05Speaker 1: For the top model.
- 11:06Speaker 7: The top model of the foldable iPhone is $ 6, 599.
- 11:08Speaker 1: You're joking. Six and a half grand. So it costs
- 11:14Speaker 1: more than a laptop. A laptop.
- 11:16Speaker 3: Now, get this.
- 11:17Speaker 1: The entry-level one, right? Oh, that's the entry-level one. No,
- 11:20Speaker 1: that's the top one.
- 11:21Speaker 2: Oh.
- 11:22Speaker 1: The entry-level, cheapest one with the little letterbox, Jason, instead
- 11:25Speaker 1: of the double garage.
- 11:26Speaker 3: Yes.
- 11:26Speaker 1: $ 4, 199.
- 11:27Speaker 3: Yeah, jeez.
- 11:28Speaker 1: But you look, am I right in saying that if
- 11:31Speaker 1: I'm at the bus stop?
- 11:33Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 11:33Speaker 1: Steering at my phone. Yeah. That I'll look cooler than
- 11:36Speaker 1: the other people? Oh, you'll look sick.
- 11:38Speaker 3: Yeah, good.
- 11:39Speaker 1: Well, that's worth it. But if you're spending six grand
- 11:41Speaker 1: on a phone while you're at the bus stop, you
- 11:43Speaker 1: know what I mean? Well, I can't afford to get
- 11:44Speaker 1: a car or anything because I.
- 11:45Speaker 3: Spend six grand on my phone. Yeah, yeah.
- 11:48Speaker 1: Because how much did you spend on your phone, Jase?
- 11:50Speaker 3: Oh, I think it was about five or six K.
- 11:54Speaker 3: Was it? Yeah, something like that. But that's outrageous, though,
- 11:57Speaker 3: isn't it?
- 11:57Speaker 1: What else does it do other than have too many screens? Look,
- 12:02Speaker 1: I don't know. It must have some pretty good features because,
- 12:04Speaker 1: as I say, like a laptop, Like I've got one
- 12:09Speaker 1: of the little ones, whatever they're called. Yeah, one of those, exactly.
- 12:13Speaker 1: And then I've previously had a MacBook Pro. They went
- 12:15Speaker 1: for about $ 2, 500. They might be up to almost $ 3, 000 now.
- 12:17Speaker 1: So what are we doing that's $ 6, 700? I'm going to
- 12:20Speaker 1: go out on a limb. Taking the piss?
- 12:21Speaker 3: Yeah, well, you are taking the piss.
- 12:23Speaker 1: Taking the piss, that's it.
- 12:25Speaker 7: I'm going to go out on a limb and say
- 12:26Speaker 7: it's got something to do with the fact that it's
- 12:28Speaker 7: in a lot more of a compressed space and the
- 12:30Speaker 7: foldable screen technology. I have no idea.
- 12:32Speaker 3: I'm just tubing. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 12:34Speaker 1: And the other thing is... Ramageddon.
- 12:38Speaker 3: Ramageddon.
- 12:38Speaker 1: Have you heard about Ramageddon? The price of Ram is
- 12:41Speaker 1: through the roof thanks to AI.
- 12:42Speaker 3: Yeah, what I was going to say is this maybe
- 12:46Speaker 3: got some correlation with the AI chat we were having earlier.
- 12:49Speaker 1: The insemination.
- 12:50Speaker 3: I know what you're thinking, Jase.
- 12:52Speaker 1: So he's thinking of like actual Rams? Yes. And the
- 12:55Speaker 1: artificial insemination, whereas I'm talking about Ram.
- 12:57Speaker 7: No, no, no. I'm not talking about getting a Ram.
- 13:00Speaker 7: I'm talking about Ram that is in like a memory
- 13:03Speaker 7: in there.
- 13:03Speaker 1: It's like ROM.
- 13:04Speaker 3: Like ROM.
- 13:06Speaker 1: No, it's not. But it's RAM.
- 13:08Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 13:08Speaker 1: There's RAM and ROM.
- 13:09Speaker 3: Yeah. Right, okay.
- 13:10Speaker 4: Look, to be honest with you, man, that's stupid.
- 13:14Speaker 1: It is stupid. Can I ask this question of the
- 13:17Speaker 1: audience out there? Would you buy one? I don't want
- 13:19Speaker 1: to talk to the people who are sane and wouldn't
- 13:21Speaker 1: buy one, but I'm interested to know from the people
- 13:24Speaker 1: that would buy one.
- 13:25Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 13:25Speaker 1: And I guess why? And I think the one that
- 13:28Speaker 1: most people would go for is the entry-level $ 4, 200 one. Yeah,
- 13:33Speaker 1: I mean, what world are people living in? I don't know.
- 13:34Speaker 3: Yeah, I reckon.
- 13:36Speaker 1: Dog squad money, man.
- 13:37Speaker 3: Jeez. I reckon.
- 13:39Speaker 2: The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune
- 13:42Speaker 2: in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki. One simple question.
- 13:47Speaker 2: One weekend of a lifetime.
- 13:49Speaker 3: Would you rather?
- 13:51Speaker 4: Yes, indeed, Wazel. Cars, you decide.
- 13:53Speaker 3: New Zealand, two amazing prizes. Whichever way you go, basically.
- 13:58Speaker 3: Whichever way you go.
- 14:00Speaker 1: What you could do is.
- 14:02Speaker 7: You know, win this competition and then go to the
- 14:05Speaker 7: grand final, the NRL grand final. Hopefully watch the WAS
- 14:08Speaker 7: and then two weeks later go to Bathurst.
- 14:10Speaker 5: Oh.
- 14:10Speaker 1: You know, on your own dime.
- 14:12Speaker 3: Yeah, that's true.
- 14:12Speaker 7: If you're planning on going to Bathurst or planning on
- 14:14Speaker 7: going to the grand final, you could try and win
- 14:16Speaker 7: the other one and do both.
- 14:17Speaker 3: That's right.
- 14:18Speaker 1: How good. How good. I mean, I don't know if
- 14:21Speaker 1: I'd stick around for a couple of weeks to go
- 14:23Speaker 1: to it. Although, if the Warriors won the grand final,
- 14:27Speaker 1: tie one on for a couple of weeks.
- 14:28Speaker 4: Yeah, just have a party.
- 14:30Speaker 1: Sleep for a couple of days and then boom. Into Bathurst.
- 14:33Speaker 1: They'd come back a shell of a human. Oh, yeah,
- 14:35Speaker 1: how good. It'd be so good.
- 14:36Speaker 3: How good.
- 14:37Speaker 4: G'day, Lizzie. How's life?
- 14:40Speaker 5: Good.
- 14:40Speaker 3: Good.
- 14:41Speaker 5: How are you?
- 14:42Speaker 3: Yeah, good, thank you. Tell me, Lizzie, what do you
- 14:45Speaker 3: do for a crust?
- 14:46Speaker 5: I'm an accountant, but I'm actually on parental leave at
- 14:49Speaker 5: the moment. I'm four months old.
- 14:53Speaker 3: Double backbone.
- 14:54Speaker 1: Is that your first little kitty there?
- 14:56Speaker 5: No, actually, I was sitting and it's your guy's fault
- 14:59Speaker 5: because I wrote him to meet Katie Nitz and he
- 15:00Speaker 5: told me to fill my boots and go again.
- 15:02Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 15:04Speaker 1: I don't know if you know this, Lizzie. We tell
- 15:07Speaker 1: a lot of lies on this show.
- 15:10Speaker 3: A lot of lies.
- 15:11Speaker 5: He said you've really screwed it up on everyone so
- 15:14Speaker 5: he knows I'll have another.
- 15:16Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly.
- 15:17Speaker 3: And that is 100% true. That is true.
- 15:18Speaker 1: Have you named it after a member of the big
- 15:20Speaker 1: show perchance?
- 15:22Speaker 5: Actually, as a boy, we were going to name our
- 15:24Speaker 5: wedding day, we were going to call it Parker.
- 15:26Speaker 1: Parker.
- 15:28Speaker 4: Actually, that's a really good name, Parker.
- 15:30Speaker 3: Yeah. I like it.
- 15:33Speaker 1: I forgot about Parker from Thunderbirds. Oh, good stuff.
- 15:37Speaker 4: Hey, Lizzie.
- 15:38Speaker 5: Girl, actually.
- 15:40Speaker 3: Girl's rule, man. Girl's rule.
- 15:42Speaker 1: Maybe Lady Penelope.
- 15:43Speaker 3: Milady. Milady.
- 15:46Speaker 4: Lizzie, what are you going with, Waz or Cars?
- 15:48Speaker 5: Waz.
- 15:49Speaker 2: Wow.
- 15:50Speaker 3: Yeah, good on you. Lizzie, well, good luck, mate.
- 15:53Speaker 1: Yeah, good luck with the kid. Hey, and have a third.
- 15:55Speaker 1: It only gets better, eh, Jase?
- 15:56Speaker 3: Yeah, man.
- 15:57Speaker 4: Go four, Lizzie.
- 15:58Speaker 7: Go four. The Horty J special. You hold the line there, Lizzie,
- 16:03Speaker 7: and Pugs will put you in the draw.
- 16:05Speaker 4: G'day, Bobby, you mad bastard. How's life?
- 16:08Speaker 3: Great. How are you boys? Yeah, very, very. You're sounding
- 16:12Speaker 3: like you're having a great day, Bobby.
- 16:15Speaker 5: I'm having a massive migraine, but you boys just made
- 16:18Speaker 5: my day better.
- 16:20Speaker 1: Usually because of migraines, actually, so that's good. Bobby, what
- 16:24Speaker 1: do you do for a crust?
- 16:26Speaker 7: I'm a nurse at Nelson Hospital.
- 16:28Speaker 3: That is a backbone. Good on you, mate. Massive backbone.
- 16:31Speaker 3: Bloody oath. I'll tell you what. The old bloody migraines
- 16:35Speaker 3: aren't to be messed with. I used to get them
- 16:37Speaker 3: in my teens. Oh, did you? Yeah.
- 16:40Speaker 4: Total blackout. Used to vomit.
- 16:42Speaker 3: It was a nightmare.
- 16:43Speaker 1: Growing pains, eh, as well.
- 16:44Speaker 3: Yeah, maybe.
- 16:45Speaker 1: Maybe.
- 16:45Speaker 3: It's just the fact that I've got a massive head
- 16:47Speaker 3: and honker.
- 16:49Speaker 1: Hey, Bobby, are you thinking Waz or Carsman?
- 16:53Speaker 4: Warriors all the way, baby.
- 16:55Speaker 3: Warriors all the way.
- 16:56Speaker 1: Yeah, baby.
- 16:56Speaker 3: Good on you, Bobby. I like the cut of your jib.
- 16:57Speaker 3: You hold the line, Bobby.
- 16:58Speaker 1: Good luck with the migraine.
- 17:00Speaker 3: Thank you, boys. Thanks, mate.
- 17:03Speaker 1: A couple of fizzed up listeners there, fellas. Yeah, totally.
- 17:06Speaker 7: At the end of the day, if you win this prize,
- 17:09Speaker 7: you'll get three nights in Sydney with shuttles to and
- 17:11Speaker 7: from Bathurst, both Saturday and Sunday, if you choose cars
- 17:14Speaker 7: or if you choose Waz. You once again go to Sydney,
- 17:17Speaker 7: have the weekend of your life at the NRL Grand Final,
- 17:20Speaker 7: and you go to the races on the Saturday, to.
- 17:21Speaker 1: The Randwick races. Yeah. Peak way too early, have an
- 17:24Speaker 1: absolute blowout.
- 17:25Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah.
- 17:26Speaker 7: And then feel like shit for the Grand Final.
- 17:28Speaker 1: I'm pretty excited. I've got my flight over there. I
- 17:31Speaker 1: haven't got a flight back. That's something of a concern,
- 17:33Speaker 1: but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it there, fellas.
- 17:35Speaker 2: Yeah, mate.
- 17:36Speaker 1: And I've got a ticket, so I'm fizzing. But I'm also,
- 17:39Speaker 1: I'm really stoked that I'm going to be going on
- 17:41Speaker 1: the Sunday afternoon. So I arrive a few hours before kickoff.
- 17:45Speaker 1: Get stuck in. Might be the smartest thing I've ever done.
- 17:47Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah. It's a good call there, Mogi. In the meantime,
- 17:51Speaker 3: here's REM.
- 17:52Speaker 2: The Hodaki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune
- 17:55Speaker 2: in weekdays at four on Radio Hodaki.
- 17:58Speaker 3: Yes, indeed. Jimmy Eat World there on the Radio Hodaki
- 18:01Speaker 3: Big Show this Thursday afternoon.
- 18:03Speaker 4: The time is 4.51. Let's talk TV. What's on the
- 18:08Speaker 4: telly with Mike Minogue. That's right.
- 18:17Speaker 1: Fellas, last night I watched a movie. We had a
- 18:20Speaker 1: couple of the stars in here yesterday afternoon, Jackie Van
- 18:22Speaker 1: Beek and Johnny Brough. The film is called Mum, I'm
- 18:24Speaker 1: Alien Pregnant. It's out at cinemas now. Um, great cast
- 18:30Speaker 1: in it. It's got those two, obviously. Um, it's also
- 18:33Speaker 1: got Arlo Green, um, who seems to be in everything,
- 18:36Speaker 1: but geez, he's a, he's a bloody good actor. Um,
- 18:39Speaker 1: also Hannah Lynch in the lead, Yvette Parsons as well,
- 18:42Speaker 1: and a bit of a who's who of other supporting
- 18:45Speaker 1: cast here and there. Those are all New Zealanders, right?
- 18:46Speaker 1: All New Zealanders. And it's, um, Well, it's pretty much
- 18:50Speaker 1: it says it on the label. A woman that's living
- 18:53Speaker 1: with her mother ends up becoming pregnant to somebody else
- 18:56Speaker 1: who lives at the sort of housing estate type set
- 18:58Speaker 1: up that she lives with, that she lives at. And
- 19:02Speaker 1: this guy is essentially half an alien.
- 19:05Speaker 3: He's half alien?
- 19:06Speaker 1: He's half alien because his mother, Jackie Van Beek, got
- 19:09Speaker 1: abducted by aliens.
- 19:10Speaker 3: Yeah, right.
- 19:10Speaker 1: And inseminated. Not artificially, can I say that?
- 19:14Speaker 3: Yeah. Very fishily.
- 19:17Speaker 1: Yeah, okay. Officially. And then had this kid, Arlo Green,
- 19:22Speaker 1: who's now half an alien.
- 19:23Speaker 3: Half alien.
- 19:24Speaker 1: I didn't know that was how it worked.
- 19:25Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 19:26Speaker 1: That's how it goes.
- 19:27Speaker 3: Far out.
- 19:28Speaker 1: Anyway, she gets pregnant. And the way that the aliens work,
- 19:31Speaker 1: and I don't know if you know this, Key Uzi,
- 19:32Speaker 1: but the pregnancy goes very, very quickly. It advances very quickly.
- 19:36Speaker 1: The gestation period. The gestation period, which is beneficial for
- 19:39Speaker 1: a movie that's about an hour and a half long. Perfect.
- 19:42Speaker 7: Perfect.
- 19:43Speaker 1: So it's her becoming pregnant Realising she's pregnant And then
- 19:47Speaker 1: all of the issues that she's having with her body
- 19:50Speaker 1: It's in the sort of same vein as Bad Taste,
- 19:53Speaker 1: and there is some weird sort of grossy-out stuff. You
- 19:56Speaker 1: saw some of it, Jase, with me yesterday afternoon when
- 19:59Speaker 1: we watched the first half hour of it. But at
- 20:01Speaker 1: the same time, that's really funny. So it's like Peter
- 20:03Speaker 1: Jackson's Bad Taste. So there's some gross-out stuff in it,
- 20:06Speaker 1: but it is also really funny. But can I say...
- 20:09Speaker 1: A significantly better film in terms of the production value
- 20:13Speaker 1: than Bad Taste was. That was very much of its time.
- 20:15Speaker 1: These guys know how to direct. The acting is great.
- 20:17Speaker 1: The script was really tight. It's really brilliantly made. Yeah,
- 20:22Speaker 1: so all I can say as it comes out today,
- 20:24Speaker 1: go and watch it. I'm going to give it... got
- 20:26Speaker 1: about 15 minutes to go sadly.
- 20:28Speaker 7: And the issue is right because you guys know those
- 20:31Speaker 7: people you've been in staff movies and tv shows with
- 20:33Speaker 7: them mate you know but.
- 20:34Speaker 1: You couldn't come on here and go oh one buzzy
- 20:36Speaker 1: well i tell you what you wouldn't because number one
- 20:38Speaker 1: they wouldn't choose to be in something that's garbage and
- 20:41Speaker 1: then when they're in it it instantly elevates it johnny
- 20:43Speaker 1: bruff is hilarious jackie van beek is one of the
- 20:45Speaker 1: best actors that we've got in this country um yvette
- 20:47Speaker 1: parsons is absolutely hilarious she's very funny and Arlo Green's
- 20:52Speaker 1: a brilliant actor and the lead who I had not
- 20:54Speaker 1: seen before Hannah Lynch is really great as well so
- 20:57Speaker 1: I'm going to go three and a half buzzies it
- 20:58Speaker 1: could go higher I understand it's got a huge climax
- 21:00Speaker 1: at the end of it as well but get along
- 21:02Speaker 1: and see it it's really fun really funny and it's
- 21:06Speaker 1: about an hour and a half which straight away makes
- 21:08Speaker 1: it three stars or three buzzies for me mum I'm
- 21:10Speaker 1: alien pregnant and cinema's now.
- 21:13Speaker 3: I went to the theatre oh you did last night
- 21:15Speaker 3: yes and Just see you play at the Basement Theatre.
- 21:19Speaker 4: I believe it was called Eating Mangroves.
- 21:22Speaker 1: It was Mangrove Eaters.
- 21:24Speaker 3: Oh, Mangrove Eaters.
- 21:25Speaker 1: I saw it the night before. Yes.
- 21:26Speaker 3: Yes. Yeah, yeah. And can I just say, first and foremost,
- 21:29Speaker 3: I've done a lot of shows in the basement.
- 21:31Speaker 4: It was good to be back.
- 21:32Speaker 1: Yeah, how long's it been?
- 21:33Speaker 3: It's been.
- 21:34Speaker 4: Literally years.
- 21:35Speaker 3: Oh, wow. So it was kind of nostalgic to go back.
- 21:39Speaker 7: Is this the thing, Moggy, you've told me about where
- 21:41Speaker 7: when you've seen a play and you don't know how
- 21:42Speaker 7: to comment on it, so you comment on, for example,
- 21:45Speaker 7: the venue first.
- 21:47Speaker 6: Oh, right.
- 21:47Speaker 3: You lead with that. It just flooded me with memories, Keezy.
- 21:50Speaker 1: And it's just down the road from you as well, Joe.
- 21:52Speaker 4: And it's just down the road from me.
- 21:53Speaker 3: No, look, I really enjoyed it. And what I enjoyed
- 21:56Speaker 3: about it is.
- 21:59Speaker 3: It took me back to the enthusiasm I used to
- 22:02Speaker 3: have doing theatre and all that sort of stuff when
- 22:05Speaker 3: I used to love it.
- 22:06Speaker 1: Yes.
- 22:06Speaker 3: Before I became a cynical old bastard. That's right. You
- 22:10Speaker 3: know what I mean?
- 22:10Speaker 1: And it was written.
- 22:11Speaker 4: By two of the people in the play.
- 22:13Speaker 3: Yeah. And I love the idea that there's young people
- 22:16Speaker 3: getting out there and giving it a crack and giving
- 22:18Speaker 3: it a nudge. And the audience really enjoyed it and
- 22:20Speaker 3: I enjoyed it too. I'll be honest with you, I
- 22:24Speaker 3: didn't love the play. Yeah.
- 22:26Speaker 1: But I enjoyed the performances. Yeah, 100%. Sugar Ray Bruce.
- 22:30Speaker 3: Yes, very good.
- 22:32Speaker 1: One of the leads and also writer on it. And
- 22:34Speaker 1: she is a fantastic actor. And Zach Tamati is another
- 22:38Speaker 1: one of the co-writers. And I'm pretty sure he's a co-writer,
- 22:41Speaker 1: but also an actor. Those two are on Frank's books,
- 22:44Speaker 1: along with you, Keezy.
- 22:45Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 22:46Speaker 1: You mad bastard.
- 22:47Speaker 7: Frank being Mogi's agency. Oh, yeah, we should clarify that.
- 22:49Speaker 7: It's just not a guy called Frank. By the way,
- 22:52Speaker 7: coming up after 5 o'clock, the Hodaki Big Show is
- 22:56Speaker 7: heading down to the Dunedin Beer Festival. Wow.
- 22:58Speaker 1: Thanks to our mates at Emerson's.
- 22:59Speaker 7: And to celebrate that, Emerson's have made a special brew
- 23:03Speaker 7: for the big show.
- 23:04Speaker 1: It just needs a name.
- 23:05Speaker 7: So text any beer ideas through on 3483 and you can.
- 23:09Speaker 1: Win yourself an Emerson's hoodie.
- 23:11Speaker 3: Oh, how good.
- 23:11Speaker 1: Also coming up after 5, a bit of improv.
- 23:15Speaker 2: The Hodaki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune
- 23:19Speaker 2: in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hodaki.
- 23:21Speaker 3: Massive backbones, hope your Thursday isn't dragging its arse. You're
- 23:25Speaker 3: listening to The Big Show, incidentally, brought to you by Reburger.
- 23:28Speaker 1: Crave with your street food, freshly made with Reburger. Yum, yum, yum, yum, yum, yum, yum, yum.
- 23:33Speaker 3: Fellas, just on Reburger, I've got an apology to make
- 23:36Speaker 3: to Reburger in our next voice break.
- 23:39Speaker 7: In the nest.
- 23:40Speaker 3: In the next one. Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 23:42Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah.
- 23:42Speaker 4: I feel like I betrayed them somewhat.
- 23:45Speaker 1: Well, just clarifying, because I told a story last week
- 23:47Speaker 1: or earlier this week. It was earlier this week.
- 23:49Speaker 3: Jeez.
- 23:50Speaker 7: When I was really hungover, then I went and got
- 23:53Speaker 7: a burger for breakfast at 10.30.
- 23:54Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 23:55Speaker 7: But it was from a competing restaurant. And I felt
- 23:59Speaker 7: really bad. But then I was like, well, hang on.
- 24:01Speaker 7: I don't have to swear off any burger that's not re-burger.
- 24:03Speaker 1: Yes, you do.
- 24:04Speaker 3: Do I?
- 24:04Speaker 1: Yes. Well, if I remember correctly, they weren't open. No,
- 24:07Speaker 1: they weren't open. 100% they weren't open, yeah. There you go.
- 24:09Speaker 1: You forgot that bit, eh? Yeah, well, I was very hungover, mate.
- 24:12Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yes. And also coming up, too, on
- 24:17Speaker 3: that front, it's going to be a bit of an
- 24:19Speaker 3: apology session, really. I've got to apologise to one of
- 24:22Speaker 3: our very loyal listeners who I bumped into last night.
- 24:26Speaker 3: Because I feel like I sold them under the bridge
- 24:28Speaker 3: a little bit. Ah, yeah, right.
- 24:30Speaker 4: You know what I'm saying?
- 24:31Speaker 1: More like, oh, you sold them under the bridge. I
- 24:32Speaker 1: think you sell someone down the river.
- 24:34Speaker 4: Yeah, is that what it is?
- 24:35Speaker 1: And sold under the bridge. Maybe we'll look up the
- 24:36Speaker 1: meanings of each of those because.
- 24:38Speaker 3: I've got a bit concerned about both of them.
- 24:43Speaker 7: I knew a guy who bought something off someone under
- 24:45Speaker 7: a bridge and then he.
- 24:46Speaker 1: Went to jail.
- 24:47Speaker 3: Right, okay.
- 24:47Speaker 1: I know a guy that bought something under a bridge.
- 24:50Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 24:51Speaker 1: Not good.
- 24:52Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 24:53Speaker 1: Or rented it.
- 24:54Speaker 3: And also on that front, by the way, fellas, I'm
- 24:56Speaker 3: going to need your help because I've got an issue
- 24:59Speaker 3: and I need to, you know, get your guidance on it.
- 25:01Speaker 3: So we may have to do a bit of an
- 25:03Speaker 3: improv around it so we can sort of, you know,
- 25:05Speaker 3: flesh it out.
- 25:06Speaker 1: Put it on.
- 25:06Speaker 3: Yeah, there's a lot on.
- 25:08Speaker 1: Portie J needs a lot of help. And I tell
- 25:09Speaker 1: you what's also going to help, I've been alive.
- 25:12Speaker 2: The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune
- 25:15Speaker 2: in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki.
- 25:18Speaker 3: Arctic Monkeys there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this
- 25:21Speaker 3: Thursday afternoon. The time, 12 minutes past 5 o'clock. I
- 25:26Speaker 3: had a bit of a shocker last night on the
- 25:28Speaker 3: food front. And first and foremost, I want to make
- 25:32Speaker 3: an apology to, because as you know, we were going
- 25:35Speaker 3: out to a theatre. So we thought, oh, we'll get
- 25:38Speaker 3: a quick bite to eat, my wife and I said,
- 25:41Speaker 3: before we go to the theatre. Now, normally, because I said,
- 25:44Speaker 3: what about burgers? And she said, yeah, I'm into that.
- 25:47Speaker 3: Normally we would have gone to Reburger. Unfortunately, Reburger's a
- 25:50Speaker 3: little bit far away from where we were. And there's
- 25:54Speaker 3: a joint really close to where we live and we've
- 25:56Speaker 3: never been in there before. It looks quite nice. So
- 25:59Speaker 3: I said to my wife, why don't we go there
- 26:01Speaker 3: and then we can go straight to the theatre? She said,
- 26:03Speaker 3: great idea.
- 26:04Speaker 1: Right, okay.
- 26:05Speaker 4: So that's my apology to Reburger.
- 26:06Speaker 3: Well, you didn't say sorry. Oh, sorry, Reburger.
- 26:09Speaker 1: There you go. First time ever.
- 26:10Speaker 3: Boom, done. So we went to this place and, you know,
- 26:13Speaker 3: it's got your stock standard kind of burger arrangements.
- 26:16Speaker 1: What's it called?
- 26:17Speaker 3: I'm not going to.
- 26:17Speaker 4: Tell you what it's called.
- 26:18Speaker 3: Oh, okay.
- 26:19Speaker 1: Um.
- 26:20Speaker 3: You know, and as I say, nice decor and all
- 26:23Speaker 3: that sort of jazz. And so I ordered a pretty
- 26:26Speaker 3: standy Angus beef burger. My wife ordered a fish burger.
- 26:30Speaker 3: And then we sat there for about 25 minutes. And
- 26:35Speaker 3: there were two other people in the joint. And it
- 26:38Speaker 3: was like 25 minutes. It shouldn't take 25 minutes to
- 26:42Speaker 3: make two burgers. Well, that's my opinion. So anyway, the
- 26:47Speaker 3: burgers come out. And frankly, they were abysmal. I mean,
- 26:53Speaker 3: I wouldn't have minded 25-Minute Way if the burgers that
- 26:56Speaker 3: came out were like the bomb. Just like really good burgers. Now,
- 27:04Speaker 3: my burger is meant to have Angus beef patty and
- 27:08Speaker 3: pickles and all this sort of stuff on it. The
- 27:12Speaker 3: bun was so old that when you started eating it,
- 27:15Speaker 3: it literally disintegrated in my hands. And so I was
- 27:19Speaker 3: trying to eat this burger, and the bun was so
- 27:22Speaker 3: old that it just fell apart, and I've just got
- 27:25Speaker 3: food everywhere.
- 27:25Speaker 4: It had no sauce.
- 27:28Speaker 7: No sauce at all.
- 27:29Speaker 4: No sauce on my burger. No pickles.
- 27:33Speaker 1: Did you order it without sauce?
- 27:34Speaker 7: No.
- 27:35Speaker 1: Are you sure?
- 27:37Speaker 3: I'm absolutely sure, because I love a lot of sauce
- 27:40Speaker 3: on my burgers. Right.
- 27:42Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 27:43Speaker 4: My wife got a fish burger, same thing.
- 27:45Speaker 3: Her one's disintegrating because the bun's so old. Old bit
- 27:49Speaker 3: of hokey, crumbed hokey in there. No sauce whatsoever.
- 27:53Speaker 1: Did she order it without sauce?
- 27:55Speaker 4: No, she did not. She loves a bit of sauce, Keezy. Absolutely.
- 27:59Speaker 3: So hers fell apart. There's about 50 bucks. $ 50.
- 28:03Speaker 1: Yeah, to be honest, at Reburger, it goes further than Reburger.
- 28:06Speaker 3: I know.
- 28:07Speaker 4: I know.
- 28:08Speaker 3: And we didn't even get fries or anything. Got a drink.
- 28:12Speaker 4: So anyway, we were sitting there.
- 28:13Speaker 3: I was effing and jeffing because I was a bit
- 28:15Speaker 3: hangry because I didn't finish it all.
- 28:19Speaker 4: And then a dude walks in.
- 28:20Speaker 3: Off the street. And he goes, good eating, Hoity J.
- 28:23Speaker 3: And I went, yeah, man, not too bad. And then
- 28:27Speaker 3: he was like, oh, I'm a big fan of the show, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
- 28:29Speaker 3: And I went, yeah, good on you, mate.
- 28:31Speaker 1: Backbone.
- 28:31Speaker 4: You're backbone.
- 28:32Speaker 3: And he went and sat down and ordered a burger.
- 28:35Speaker 1: Because of your recommendation.
- 28:36Speaker 4: Because of my recommendation.
- 28:38Speaker 3: So if you're listening, and I think he is because
- 28:40Speaker 3: he said he listens to every show, I'm sorry, mate.
- 28:44Speaker 4: I'm sorry.
- 28:44Speaker 1: I'd love to hear from that guy and find out
- 28:46Speaker 1: what his burger experience was.
- 28:48Speaker 3: It was a shocker.
- 28:49Speaker 1: Now, I'm assuming, Josie, you didn't say a word to
- 28:51Speaker 1: the proprietor.
- 28:52Speaker 4: Now, this is where I need your help.
- 28:53Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 28:54Speaker 3: Because I was legit effing and jeffing about it. I
- 28:58Speaker 3: was like, that was so bad. The issue that I
- 29:02Speaker 3: had was that there was a very pleasant young lady
- 29:05Speaker 3: who was serving us, and it looked like she was
- 29:07Speaker 3: trying to deal with a lot of stuff. And so
- 29:10Speaker 3: I didn't have any issue with her, and I didn't
- 29:11Speaker 3: want to go up to her and go, I'm sorry.
- 29:14Speaker 3: But that was really bad.
- 29:16Speaker 1: But it's not her fault.
- 29:17Speaker 4: It's not her fault, but she could pass it on.
- 29:20Speaker 1: But it's the only way to communicate the message. You
- 29:22Speaker 1: want the message to get through.
- 29:24Speaker 3: Yes.
- 29:24Speaker 1: You want the message to get through. Now, what I
- 29:27Speaker 1: do when I'm running a slum burger joint is I
- 29:30Speaker 1: put a young woman out the front that nobody wants
- 29:32Speaker 1: to tell a bad word to.
- 29:33Speaker 3: Yeah, I see.
- 29:35Speaker 1: That's the first thing I do. Yeah. But you need
- 29:38Speaker 1: to tell them because what they need to know is
- 29:42Speaker 1: it's now at the point where we're noticing. You're cutting costs,
- 29:45Speaker 1: you're having a go, understood times are tough, but But, yeah.
- 29:50Speaker 1: Now we've got the stale crumbling buns, man. Now we've
- 29:53Speaker 1: got the no sauces, no pickles, $ 25. $ 50, yeah, for two.
- 29:58Speaker 3: Shut it down. Yeah. Pack it up.
- 30:00Speaker 1: It's for their own good.
- 30:01Speaker 3: Move it on.
- 30:02Speaker 1: Well, don't close the store down.
- 30:03Speaker 4: Yeah, well, I mean, you know.
- 30:04Speaker 7: So what you need is an improv. We'll do a
- 30:07Speaker 7: run through of how to politely pass that message on.
- 30:10Speaker 3: Yeah, because that's what I struggle with.
- 30:12Speaker 1: Yeah, well, let's do that next. Okay, all right. That'll
- 30:14Speaker 1: help you, Jase.
- 30:14Speaker 7: Fine.
- 30:17Speaker 4: In the meantime.
- 30:18Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 30:18Speaker 4: There's the Foo Fighters, fellas.
- 30:21Speaker 2: The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune
- 30:24Speaker 2: in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki.
- 30:26Speaker 3: Cake there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Thursday afternoon.
- 30:30Speaker 3: The time is 5.24 and we were just talking before
- 30:33Speaker 3: about how I find it very difficult when I'm in
- 30:35Speaker 3: a restaurant if I've been served a really bad meal.
- 30:38Speaker 3: to actually say something about it. I tend to just
- 30:41Speaker 3: walk out, pay my bill, and just not say anything.
- 30:44Speaker 1: And not go there ever again, and that'll show them.
- 30:46Speaker 4: Yeah, and not go there ever again.
- 30:47Speaker 3: That's true.
- 30:48Speaker 1: Whereas it can actually be helpful and constructive for them
- 30:51Speaker 1: to know.
- 30:51Speaker 3: Yes, that's right. So they can address it.
- 30:52Speaker 1: If you were running a restaurant, Jason, you were putting
- 30:54Speaker 1: out food that was substandard, you would want to know,
- 30:57Speaker 1: especially if it was an accident. If you were doing
- 30:59Speaker 1: it on purpose... Yeah.
- 31:01Speaker 3: Yeah, it'd be like... Well, yeah, what do you expect?
- 31:03Speaker 7: Well, so we figured an improv is probably the best
- 31:06Speaker 7: way to do it.
- 31:06Speaker 3: I think so.
- 31:07Speaker 7: Because I used to struggle with this exact same thing
- 31:09Speaker 7: and I worked on it and I actually think I
- 31:11Speaker 7: can genuinely teach you.
- 31:13Speaker 1: Something that works for me.
- 31:14Speaker 3: Okay, good. That'll be good, Keezy.
- 31:16Speaker 1: Yeah, let's get into it. One, two, three.
- 31:18Speaker 3: Sound speed. Lights. Camera.
- 31:21Speaker 5: Action.
- 31:21Speaker 4: Now it's time for the Big Show Improv.
- 31:26Speaker 1: So for this one, I'll be the customer.
- 31:30Speaker 3: Yes.
- 31:31Speaker 7: Mogi, you're always quite good at just figuring out a
- 31:33Speaker 7: character and coming in.
- 31:34Speaker 1: Thanks, man.
- 31:35Speaker 3: Later on.
- 31:36Speaker 7: But I think, Jase, it'd be quite handy if you
- 31:38Speaker 7: were the person behind the counter.
- 31:40Speaker 3: Okay, sure.
- 31:41Speaker 7: So that you get a taste of how it works.
- 31:43Speaker 4: Front of house.
- 31:44Speaker 3: I'm not going to be good at front of house. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 31:46Speaker 1: And just remember, obviously, you're very polite when you do this, right?
- 31:50Speaker 3: Well, yes.
- 31:51Speaker 1: 100%. So that's the key.
- 31:52Speaker 3: All right.
- 31:52Speaker 1: So I'll just find some restaurant ambience.
- 31:57Speaker 3: There you go.
- 31:57Speaker 1: It's very busy.
- 31:58Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 31:59Speaker 4: It's obviously doing a thriving business.
- 32:02Speaker 5: All right.
- 32:02Speaker 3: You ready?
- 32:02Speaker 4: Yeah, man.
- 32:03Speaker 3: Okay.
- 32:05Speaker 1: Hey, excuse me.
- 32:05Speaker 5: Hello.
- 32:07Speaker 3: How are you? Good.
- 32:08Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 32:08Speaker 3: What was your name? Could you lose the cap, please?
- 32:10Speaker 3: We don't have caps inside. What, a hat? Yes, we
- 32:14Speaker 3: don't like people wearing hats.
- 32:15Speaker 1: But you're wearing a hat. Why am I not allowed
- 32:16Speaker 1: to wear a hat?
- 32:17Speaker 3: Well, that's the moniker of the actual restaurant.
- 32:19Speaker 1: So the restaurant's allowed to wear hats, but why? Can
- 32:21Speaker 1: I just call cut there? Chris, you said that you're
- 32:25Speaker 1: really good with dealing with these people that are front
- 32:27Speaker 1: of house, and straight away you can really argument. Pretty
- 32:29Speaker 1: standard to be asked not to wear a hat.
- 32:31Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 32:32Speaker 1: And then straight away you're into a sort of a
- 32:34Speaker 1: combative sort of a set up.
- 32:36Speaker 3: Thank you, Moji.
- 32:38Speaker 4: I thought he was a bit combative too, actually.
- 32:40Speaker 1: I've been to a lot of restaurants.
- 32:41Speaker 3: Not heaps.
- 32:43Speaker 7: Not like in a rich way, but I've been to
- 32:44Speaker 7: a lot of restaurants and I've never been asked to
- 32:46Speaker 7: take my hat off.
- 32:47Speaker 1: Right. So you've got to, I would have thought you'd
- 32:48Speaker 1: have to adapt. Maybe you're the wrong person for the job.
- 32:53Speaker 1: Fair enough. Right. Let's just not get bogged down.
- 32:55Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 32:56Speaker 1: No, sure. Here we go. Hey, excuse me. Sorry, mate.
- 33:00Speaker 3: I'm not serving you any more beers. You've had plenty.
- 33:04Speaker 3: All right? Yeah, okay, fair enough. We don't serve intoxicated
- 33:06Speaker 3: people here.
- 33:07Speaker 1: No, that's 100% fair enough.
- 33:07Speaker 4: And could you lose the cap, please?
- 33:09Speaker 1: Okay, yes, I'll take the hat here.
- 33:10Speaker 3: Has this been it? Yeah, yeah, yeah, good. Okay, cool.
- 33:12Speaker 5: Thank you.
- 33:13Speaker 1: Hey, I just wanted to have a chat to you
- 33:15Speaker 1: about the meal that I was served.
- 33:16Speaker 3: Oh, yes.
- 33:17Speaker 7: My wife and I came here for dinner and, you know,
- 33:20Speaker 7: we've walked past the place a lot. We thought we
- 33:22Speaker 7: must go in there and try it. We've come here,
- 33:23Speaker 7: we've tried it. It's our first time.
- 33:25Speaker 1: We ordered the burgers.
- 33:26Speaker 5: Yes.
- 33:27Speaker 1: I had the Angus burger, and the buns are quite
- 33:29Speaker 1: noticeably stale.
- 33:30Speaker 4: Oh, that's deliberate.
- 33:33Speaker 3: That's where we get them from.
- 33:35Speaker 1: You get them from stale.
- 33:36Speaker 3: No, no, but they're not actually stale. It's the kind
- 33:40Speaker 3: of bun that they are. Right, okay.
- 33:41Speaker 4: Very similar to a sourdough.
- 33:43Speaker 3: It's a specialty of this actual restaurant.
- 33:46Speaker 1: Right, so it's not stale, it's intentional.
- 33:48Speaker 3: Yeah, it's intentional, yes.
- 33:49Speaker 1: Right, okay.
- 33:49Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Sorry, mate, your hat's really bugging me, actually.
- 33:53Speaker 1: Well, I'm holding it next to me.
- 33:54Speaker 3: And this is what happens when people tend to have
- 33:56Speaker 3: a few beersies. They get all uppity.
- 33:57Speaker 1: Okay.
- 33:58Speaker 3: Take a look around the place, mate. Take a look
- 34:00Speaker 3: around the place.
- 34:00Speaker 4: Everyone's enjoying themselves.
- 34:02Speaker 3: Well, they're not really. They don't enjoy.
- 34:04Speaker 4: You're down, Buzz, coming here.
- 34:05Speaker 3: If you've got a problem, just go out there and
- 34:09Speaker 3: don't come back, mate.
- 34:10Speaker 1: I'll just cut you there. Fellas, once again, you're getting
- 34:13Speaker 1: a bit combative.
- 34:14Speaker 3: Yeah, Keezy. Yeah, Jase.
- 34:15Speaker 5: What?
- 34:17Speaker 7: Well, I'm trying and you're just focusing on the fact
- 34:19Speaker 7: that I'm wearing a hat and calling me drunk.
- 34:21Speaker 1: Keezy, why don't you take your hat off? I did
- 34:23Speaker 1: take it off, remember? Well, I think the problem is
- 34:25Speaker 1: that Jase is very much a method actor, and he
- 34:27Speaker 1: can see that you said that you'd taken it off,
- 34:29Speaker 1: but here in the studio, you've still.
- 34:30Speaker 3: Got it on.
- 34:32Speaker 1: So for this improv, I have to take my actual
- 34:35Speaker 1: hat off? Yes, I think so. Will that make you happy, Jase,
- 34:38Speaker 1: or make it easier for you to do your acting?
- 34:39Speaker 3: All right, fine.
- 34:40Speaker 1: I'm going to take my hat off, right, if it
- 34:42Speaker 1: means that this doesn't get stupid again, all right? Okay,
- 34:44Speaker 1: here we go.
- 34:44Speaker 3: Hey, excuse me. G'day, mate. How you doing? You that
- 34:49Speaker 3: guy from the radio show, The Big Show?
- 34:53Speaker 1: Yeah, it's me.
- 34:53Speaker 3: Oh, Keezy.
- 34:54Speaker 1: Yeah, how you going?
- 34:55Speaker 4: Don't use our bog, mate.
- 34:56Speaker 1: No, I won't. It's funny stuff.
- 34:59Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah.
- 35:00Speaker 1: Hey, just the food I ordered.
- 35:02Speaker 3: I've never seen you without a hat on.
- 35:03Speaker 2: The Hodaki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune
- 35:08Speaker 2: in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hodaki.
- 35:12Speaker 1: I think I'll have myself a beer.
- 35:16Speaker 2: The Radio Hauraki Big Show. Name our beer.
- 35:20Speaker 5: Yeah, man.
- 35:22Speaker 3: How good would that be, fellas?
- 35:24Speaker 1: Naming a beer.
- 35:25Speaker 3: Naming a beer and having your name on a beer.
- 35:27Speaker 3: Your name. Well, not necessarily your name, but a name
- 35:30Speaker 3: that you thought of.
- 35:32Speaker 1: That's right.
- 35:32Speaker 3: You could buy it for your mates and go, I
- 35:34Speaker 3: gave them that name.
- 35:36Speaker 7: The Big Show has a new beer, thanks to Emerson's.
- 35:39Speaker 7: It'll be at the Dunedin Craft Beer and Food Festival
- 35:42Speaker 7: later on this year.
- 35:42Speaker 1: It is a tropical hazy pale ale.
- 35:44Speaker 7: Now, we're looking for name suggestions on 3483, so text
- 35:47Speaker 7: them on through. And everyone that we, well, choose a
- 35:52Speaker 7: few of them and dish out some brand.
- 35:53Speaker 1: New Emerson's hoodies.
- 35:54Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 35:55Speaker 1: They've given us a whole bunch of them that are
- 35:56Speaker 1: bloody good.
- 35:57Speaker 3: So far, my favourite's Sri Honka Hazy. Yes.
- 36:00Speaker 1: Yeah, I like it because it's clean.
- 36:02Speaker 3: It's clean, it's crisp, and it does the job.
- 36:05Speaker 7: And you know who it's talking about as well.
- 36:07Speaker 1: It's a shame there's not two of us, because then
- 36:09Speaker 1: it could be called Twin Beaks. You know, like the show?
- 36:12Speaker 3: Yeah, that's good.
- 36:13Speaker 1: It doesn't work, though. Well, to be fair, it's only
- 36:15Speaker 1: you two that have got the big beaks, so it
- 36:17Speaker 1: could still work.
- 36:17Speaker 3: Come on, man.
- 36:18Speaker 1: You must have had a few beers yourself if you
- 36:20Speaker 1: think that, man.
- 36:21Speaker 3: I'm looking at your side profile.
- 36:23Speaker 1: My soad profile. Your joe profile.
- 36:28Speaker 3: It's pretty shocking.
- 36:30Speaker 7: Just looking at the texts here, a few of them
- 36:31Speaker 7: starting to come through, which is bloody good. This one
- 36:34Speaker 7: straight away, jizz fizz.
- 36:36Speaker 1: Look, we've had it before.
- 36:37Speaker 3: Yes.
- 36:38Speaker 1: And I still love it. I still love the jizz fizz.
- 36:42Speaker 1: Someone here just wants to name it shocking bastard.
- 36:45Speaker 3: Well, yeah.
- 36:46Speaker 1: I mean, that's an obvious one, isn't it? It might
- 36:50Speaker 1: get vetoed. Here's the thing. We've done this before, and
- 36:53Speaker 1: I'm surprised that they keep coming back to us because
- 36:55Speaker 1: every suggestion we make gets the kibosh. Well, it's because
- 36:58Speaker 1: they're all filthy. We only had a couple that even
- 37:00Speaker 1: got past the censors last time. Do you remember that?
- 37:02Speaker 3: Yes, I do.
- 37:04Speaker 1: And I think it was one of only two options
- 37:05Speaker 1: that wasn't fouled. That's the issue is our audience, clearly,
- 37:08Speaker 1: and it's nothing to do with us.
- 37:09Speaker 3: No, no.
- 37:10Speaker 7: They're obviously filthy. Maybe if we go to the phones, fellas.
- 37:13Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, let's do it. G'day, Kevin, you mad bastard.
- 37:17Speaker 4: How's life?
- 37:18Speaker 3: Good, mate.
- 37:18Speaker 1: Is she all good?
- 37:19Speaker 3: Yeah, good on you, mate. How's the beautiful toe pull today? Oh,
- 37:25Speaker 3: she's a bit hazy, mate.
- 37:26Speaker 5: She's not too good today.
- 37:28Speaker 1: Oh, a bit hazy, just like the big show beer, man.
- 37:30Speaker 3: Yeah, but have you got a name for us, Kev?
- 37:34Speaker 5: Yeah, I thought you could call it the Midnight Steamer.
- 37:37Speaker 3: Yeah, I like that, man. The Midnight Steamer.
- 37:39Speaker 1: Nobody's going to get people wanting to have a few
- 37:41Speaker 1: beers and calling something after a grogan.
- 37:44Speaker 7: Yeah, but also it sounds like people that don't know
- 37:48Speaker 7: what the Midnight Steamer is, it doesn't sound filthy.
- 37:50Speaker 3: No, that's true.
- 37:51Speaker 5: No, no.
- 37:52Speaker 1: It's a good suggestion, Kev. Wrap your lips around the
- 37:54Speaker 1: midnight steamer, you reckon, Kev?
- 37:56Speaker 5: Yeah, or the hazy midnight steamer.
- 37:58Speaker 1: Oh, there we go. Hazy midnight steamer.
- 38:00Speaker 3: Yeah, not bad. Yeah, that's pretty good.
- 38:02Speaker 1: Go on.
- 38:02Speaker 3: Thanks, Kev.
- 38:03Speaker 1: You've got yourself an Emerson's hoodie, mate. You hold the line.
- 38:05Speaker 3: Oh, beauty. G'day, mate.
- 38:07Speaker 1: Let's go to another person here.
- 38:08Speaker 3: G'day, Jordan, you mad bastard. How's life?
- 38:10Speaker 7: G'day, Kev.
- 38:12Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 38:13Speaker 4: What do you do for a crust, Jordan?
- 38:15Speaker 3: I'm an arborist.
- 38:17Speaker 7: Arborist?
- 38:17Speaker 1: Arborist, yeah.
- 38:18Speaker 3: Oh, yeah, nice. Backbone.
- 38:19Speaker 1: Shocking bastard.
- 38:20Speaker 7: Have you got a name for us there, Jordan?
- 38:23Speaker 5: I was thinking incomprehensibly hazy.
- 38:26Speaker 1: Incomprehensibly hazy.
- 38:27Speaker 3: Okay.
- 38:28Speaker 1: Yeah, sure. That would go straight through.
- 38:29Speaker 3: Yeah, I think it would. There's no filth whatsoever.
- 38:34Speaker 1: You don't want to throw the word jizz in there somewhere, Jordan? Well,
- 38:37Speaker 1: it's funny you should say that, Keezy, because we've had
- 38:40Speaker 1: one come through here on 3483. What do you think
- 38:43Speaker 1: about this one there, Jordan? Cloudy with a chance of jizz.
- 38:50Speaker 1: It's clever stuff. Maybe hazy with a chance of jizz.
- 38:55Speaker 2: Maybe.
- 38:56Speaker 7: Jordan, you've got yourself an Emerson's hoodie as well, mate.
- 38:58Speaker 1: Thank you so much.
- 39:00Speaker 3: Good on you, mate.
- 39:01Speaker 1: Mate, it would be out the gate to have a
- 39:02Speaker 1: beer that you've named.
- 39:04Speaker 3: It would be.
- 39:04Speaker 1: I'd be walking into the nearest bottle store and saying,
- 39:06Speaker 1: give it to me.
- 39:07Speaker 3: Yes.
- 39:08Speaker 1: I want it.
- 39:08Speaker 3: I named it.
- 39:09Speaker 1: Giz it.
- 39:09Speaker 3: I'll be giving it to all the whanau and friends
- 39:12Speaker 3: at Christmas and stuff like that. I named that.
- 39:15Speaker 1: That's mine.
- 39:16Speaker 3: I did it.
- 39:17Speaker 1: Hey. Z. Hello.
- 39:19Speaker 7: Nice, Mogey.
- 39:20Speaker 1: See what you did there?
- 39:21Speaker 7: Emerson's, by the way, they are the ones making the
- 39:24Speaker 7: beer for us to celebrate the Dunedin Craft Beer and
- 39:25Speaker 7: Food Festival. We're going to be down there. If you
- 39:27Speaker 7: want your tickets, dunedinbeerfestival.co.nz. shaping up to be a doozy

- 39:34Speaker 7: in on 3483 yes we can see that you're texting
- 39:37Speaker 7: in bird shit jizz but we're not going to read
- 39:39Speaker 7: it out yeah yeah yeah we don't want to be
- 39:41Speaker 7: saying that sort of stuff no not at all man
- 39:43Speaker 7: not at all who's going to drink.
- 39:44Speaker 3: That Here's Royal Blood.
- 39:47Speaker 2: The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy.
- 39:50Speaker 1: Tune in weekdays at.
- 39:51Speaker 7: 4 on Radio Hauraki.
- 39:53Speaker 3: Yes, indeed. Led Zeppelin there on the Radio Hauraki Big
- 39:56Speaker 3: Show this Thursday evening, the time 5.48.
- 39:58Speaker 1: Fellas, today was the opening of the Oasis documentary, Don't
- 40:04Speaker 1: Look Back at Anger.
- 40:05Speaker 3: Yeah, man.
- 40:06Speaker 1: Fellas there. It's all about Oasis. I don't know if
- 40:09Speaker 1: you've heard about them, but the brothers Liam and Noel
- 40:12Speaker 1: there didn't talk for 15 years.
- 40:15Speaker 4: That's quite some time.
- 40:17Speaker 1: It's a long time for brothers.
- 40:18Speaker 7: Yes.
- 40:18Speaker 1: It's a long time. They've got the footage from their
- 40:21Speaker 1: last gig in Paris where a French guy, I can
- 40:24Speaker 1: only assume he's French because he came out onto the
- 40:26Speaker 1: stage and he spoke into the microphone and he was
- 40:28Speaker 1: speaking in French. And he said, sadly, the event's not
- 40:32Speaker 1: going to take place this evening. Noel and Liam have
- 40:35Speaker 1: had a massive fight backstage. They've broken up immediately. This
- 40:40Speaker 1: gig tonight is off. The entire tour is off. and
- 40:43Speaker 1: Noel will be updating why he dislikes Liam so much
- 40:46Speaker 1: later on on their website. Yeah. That is legit.
- 40:48Speaker 3: Wow. To be honest with you, though, man, I didn't
- 40:53Speaker 3: really know what the breakup was. I knew that they'd
- 40:55Speaker 3: broken up and that they were at loggerheads with each other,
- 40:58Speaker 3: but I never really knew the story of it.
- 41:00Speaker 1: Yeah, and it was always a battle for who's the best.
- 41:05Speaker 1: You know, who's the most important? I write the songs,
- 41:08Speaker 1: but I'm the lead singer. It's all a little bit ego-driven,
- 41:10Speaker 1: you know?
- 41:10Speaker 3: Yes.
- 41:12Speaker 1: And so, anyway, the question's always been, will they get
- 41:14Speaker 1: back together? And, of course, they did, and it was
- 41:15Speaker 1: one of the biggest tours in history. People– it would
- 41:18Speaker 1: have taken over everybody's algorithms. It was really weird. Like,
- 41:21Speaker 1: even people that weren't into Oasis were getting hammered with
- 41:23Speaker 1: Oasis content. And I went over to Wembley. I saw
- 41:29Speaker 1: one of the concerts over there.
- 41:30Speaker 3: Incredible.
- 41:30Speaker 1: Incredible. And it actually– The whole place, so Wembley, which
- 41:34Speaker 1: is about 80,000 people, everybody on their feet singing every
- 41:37Speaker 1: single word of every single song.
- 41:38Speaker 3: Amazing.
- 41:39Speaker 1: Growing men like me in tears singing these songs. It
- 41:42Speaker 1: was a very, very weirdly emotional thing. I don't know
- 41:44Speaker 1: what it was. So to watch this film, I was
- 41:47Speaker 1: really interested to find out what happened, what the conversations
- 41:50Speaker 1: were like between the two of them that brought them
- 41:52Speaker 1: back together. But what was interesting is the band rehearsed for, say,
- 41:57Speaker 1: five weeks, and then Liam came in and started doing
- 42:01Speaker 1: the singing. Every day he'd walk in, they'd start playing
- 42:04Speaker 1: the set list. And then as soon as he'd finished
- 42:09Speaker 1: his last lyrics, the band's still playing, he'd just go
- 42:11Speaker 1: pick up his bag and he'd just walk out the door.
- 42:13Speaker 3: Right.
- 42:13Speaker 1: That is so weird.
- 42:15Speaker 3: Like, that was what was happening for the current tour.
- 42:20Speaker 3: During rehearsal.
- 42:21Speaker 1: So every single day for five weeks of his rehearsal,
- 42:24Speaker 1: he would walk in, they would start. Last song, pick
- 42:27Speaker 1: up his bag, out the door. No sticking around having yarns,
- 42:30Speaker 1: no ironies, none of that.
- 42:33Speaker 7: That's the equivalent of just getting to work at 8 o'clock, starting,
- 42:37Speaker 7: 5 o'clock hits, leaving. Yeah. You know what I mean?
- 42:40Speaker 7: You're not friends with anyone there. You're literally there to
- 42:42Speaker 7: do a job.
- 42:42Speaker 1: That's right. And that was without Noel. No, Noel was there. Oh,
- 42:45Speaker 1: he was there as well. Yeah, the whole band was there.
- 42:47Speaker 3: The whole band, yeah. Yeah, yeah.
- 42:48Speaker 1: So he was there for that. But it was because
- 42:50Speaker 1: he was taking it so seriously and he didn't want
- 42:52Speaker 1: to bugger it up. And I was there. I went
- 42:54Speaker 1: with my wife. And I thought I'd be in absolute pieces.
- 42:57Speaker 1: I had a few tears here and there because it
- 42:59Speaker 1: sort of goes around the world and it shows what
- 43:00Speaker 1: it means to everybody around the world. And what's really weird,
- 43:03Speaker 1: and we sort of talked about this on the podcast
- 43:05Speaker 1: a little bit, is most of the audience is about
- 43:07Speaker 1: 30 years old. So they weren't even alive when Oasis
- 43:10Speaker 1: had their first run. But my wife was in tears
- 43:12Speaker 1: as well.
- 43:13Speaker 3: But I don't know.
- 43:15Speaker 1: At times she was. And she's not a huge Oasis fan.
- 43:19Speaker 1: But it might have been because I wouldn't give her
- 43:20Speaker 1: my popcorn, Keezy. She wanted my popcorn and to have
- 43:23Speaker 1: a drink.
- 43:23Speaker 3: On my- Did you have a jumbo one?
- 43:24Speaker 1: I did.
- 43:25Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 43:25Speaker 1: And to have a little sip on my Coke. Might
- 43:27Speaker 1: have been your BO as well. Is that why you
- 43:30Speaker 1: think she was crying? Yeah, she's mentioned it to me
- 43:32Speaker 1: before off air. Four busies.
- 43:34Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 43:35Speaker 1: I saw it on IMAX, I'll be honest with you.
- 43:36Speaker 1: I don't think you need IMAX. Yeah. But it's bloody good.
- 43:40Speaker 1: It didn't quite have the interview stuff that I was after, but-
- 43:44Speaker 1: Even if you're not a fan, it's an absolute gem.
- 43:47Speaker 1: Or alternatively, just wait and it's going to come out
- 43:49Speaker 1: on Disney Plus in the coming weeks.
- 43:52Speaker 4: Yeah, I'll probably do that.
- 43:53Speaker 1: You won't even do that. I don't think you need
- 43:55Speaker 1: to watch a documentary IMAX. You know what I mean? No, well,
- 43:58Speaker 1: this is what was brilliant about this. The concert footage
- 44:01Speaker 1: is really good.
- 44:02Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 44:03Speaker 1: But it's also really big. And so it gets a
- 44:06Speaker 1: bit blurry as you're sort of swinging your melon around
- 44:09Speaker 1: trying to take what's going in. I think it's almost
- 44:11Speaker 1: better on a smaller screen. All right, well, should we
- 44:13Speaker 1: play some Oasis?
- 44:14Speaker 3: Let's do it. Let's do it, man.
- 44:17Speaker 1: Oh, tune.
- 44:18Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 44:19Speaker 7: Supersonic, man.
- 44:19Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 44:22Speaker 2: The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune
- 44:26Speaker 2: in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki.
- 44:28Speaker 3: Welcome back, you massive backbones. Hope your Thursday's going along
- 44:31Speaker 3: very nicely indeed. It is 6.03 and you, my friends,
- 44:34Speaker 3: are listening to The Big Show brought to you by ReBurger.
- 44:37Speaker 7: Handcrafted burgers, loaded fries and gourmet eats that will seriously
- 44:41Speaker 7: change the game.
- 44:42Speaker 3: Scrumptious.
- 44:43Speaker 1: What did you have for dinner last night, Mogi? Great question.
- 44:48Speaker 1: I've got no recollection of it whatsoever. In fact, I
- 44:50Speaker 1: don't think I had anything.
- 44:52Speaker 3: That's two nights in a row you haven't had dinner.
- 44:54Speaker 3: They've gone out the night before, and last night there
- 44:57Speaker 3: was just nothing. Yeah, I can't remember even getting home.
- 45:01Speaker 3: I remember watching a movie with my wife and my brother-in-law.
- 45:04Speaker 3: That was good stuff. Maybe I snuck some popcorn or
- 45:08Speaker 3: something around. You didn't go home via a pub or anything,
- 45:10Speaker 3: did you?
- 45:10Speaker 1: I didn't, no. Nothing exciting. Nothing exciting there, fellas. I
- 45:13Speaker 1: don't know.
- 45:14Speaker 3: Don't know.
- 45:16Speaker 1: And I can also tell you, I don't know what's
- 45:17Speaker 1: for dinner tonight.
- 45:18Speaker 3: Well, that's the issue.
- 45:19Speaker 1: It's like we'd like to chat about it.
- 45:20Speaker 3: I know.
- 45:21Speaker 1: Well, it's just going to have to be the two
- 45:22Speaker 1: of you.
- 45:22Speaker 3: I might actually text your wife tonight and just say,
- 45:25Speaker 3: you know, could you start telling Mogi what he's having
- 45:27Speaker 3: for dinner when he comes in?
- 45:29Speaker 7: Why don't we just get Mogi's wife on for this
- 45:31Speaker 7: break every show?
- 45:32Speaker 1: Yeah, that's a good idea.
- 45:33Speaker 3: Not a bad idea.
- 45:34Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 45:34Speaker 3: Not too bad idea.
- 45:35Speaker 1: What's your number?
- 45:36Speaker 7: Yell it out to me.
- 45:37Speaker 3: Yeah. 0- We'll do a phone drop.
- 45:42Speaker 1: A phone drop, yeah. We'll drop our phones.
- 45:44Speaker 4: Is that how you do it?
- 45:45Speaker 1: A phone drop.
- 45:46Speaker 3: Yeah, we'll just drop our phones. What about you, Keezy?
- 45:50Speaker 1: Something to do with chicken and halloumi. That's all I
- 45:52Speaker 1: picked up.
- 45:52Speaker 3: Yeah, okay.
- 45:53Speaker 1: I said to my wife. Chicken and cheese. Chicken and cheese.
- 45:55Speaker 7: I said to her, hey, do I need to get
- 45:57Speaker 7: out anything from the freezer? And she said, oh, I've
- 45:59Speaker 7: got to check what we're having.
- 46:00Speaker 1: I was like, oh, okay.
- 46:00Speaker 7: Then I went to golf and came back and then
- 46:02Speaker 7: I asked again and then she was like, oh, I've
- 46:04Speaker 7: got to check. She finally checked and she's like, shit,
- 46:06Speaker 7: we need to get the chicken out of the freezer. God,
- 46:08Speaker 7: she's got a mouth on her.
- 46:10Speaker 3: No, she doesn't. She's swearing. She just said, what did
- 46:12Speaker 3: she do? Dropping S-bombs.
- 46:14Speaker 1: Oh, she said shit.
- 46:15Speaker 3: Yeah, she actually did right.
- 46:16Speaker 1: That's terrible.
- 46:17Speaker 3: That's shocking.
- 46:17Speaker 1: Like, if I said that on the radio, I'd get fired.
- 46:20Speaker 3: Yeah, you would.
- 46:21Speaker 1: What are you having for dinner, Jase?
- 46:22Speaker 3: Chinese. Chinese? Chinese.
- 46:26Speaker 1: What, like, are we talking your sort of sweet and
- 46:29Speaker 1: sour pork?
- 46:29Speaker 3: Well, I haven't seen the menu yet, Keezy.
- 46:31Speaker 1: Western Chinese.
- 46:32Speaker 3: Jase, Jase. Funny you should say that. I'm thinking sweet
- 46:35Speaker 3: and sour pork.
- 46:36Speaker 1: So it's like a classic Western style.
- 46:38Speaker 4: Well, it's a place just down the road.
- 46:40Speaker 3: Right.
- 46:42Speaker 1: Or is it your Szechuan?
- 46:43Speaker 4: I go past it all the time, and it looks good,
- 46:45Speaker 4: so I'm.
- 46:45Speaker 3: Going to give it a crack.
- 46:46Speaker 1: Because hot pot's Chinese. Yes.
- 46:49Speaker 3: Yes. But I've burnt my bridges there a little bit.
- 46:52Speaker 3: I've got to give it a break. So I'm changing
- 46:54Speaker 3: it up a bit. Once again. I went somewhere different
- 46:57Speaker 3: last night. As I mentioned earlier in the show, it
- 46:58Speaker 3: was a disaster. But these are the risks you take
- 47:01Speaker 3: when you go to different places.
- 47:02Speaker 1: They are.
- 47:03Speaker 3: There you go.
- 47:04Speaker 1: Where are you going, New Zealand?
- 47:05Speaker 7: Tell us on Tuesday when we do What's for Tea.
- 47:09Speaker 3: Tune.
- 47:09Speaker 1: Can I say that?
- 47:10Speaker 3: Yeah, you can, mate.
- 47:11Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 47:11Speaker 4: Here's Pearl Jam.
- 47:12Speaker 2: The Hodaki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune
- 47:16Speaker 2: in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hodaki.
- 47:18Speaker 1: Yes, indeed.
- 47:19Speaker 3: You too there on the Radio Hodaki Big Show this
- 47:22Speaker 3: Thursday evening. The time is 6.27 and fellas, I've got
- 47:25Speaker 3: a bone to pick. I've got a bone to pick.
- 47:29Speaker 1: Hello, Pugson.
- 47:30Speaker 3: Ooh, it's Pugson. Evening, fellas. I.
- 47:36Speaker 1: I mean, if you're picking a bone, Jason, I'm in here.
- 47:39Speaker 3: No, no.
- 47:40Speaker 1: I've got a feeling.
- 47:41Speaker 3: Just not specifically you at all.
- 47:45Speaker 1: But if you do say, I've got a bone to pick,
- 47:46Speaker 1: and then, oh, Pugs, can you come in here, please?
- 47:49Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah.
- 47:49Speaker 1: And earlier on when we were sort of hyping up
- 47:51Speaker 1: this segment, you said, oh, Pugs has been sending you
- 47:54Speaker 1: heaps of emails.
- 47:55Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 47:56Speaker 1: So reading between the lines, oh, Pugs. And you bit
- 47:59Speaker 1: my head off in Studio B.
- 48:01Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, well, you were just half-assing it a little
- 48:04Speaker 3: bit in there. I've got certain standards that I like
- 48:07Speaker 3: maintained on the show. Anyway, now look, we all have
- 48:12Speaker 3: a bit of a joke on the show, don't we, fellas?
- 48:14Speaker 3: I don't. You know, about old Hoity J. Hoity Janus.
- 48:20Speaker 1: I have a joke about Hoity Janus.
- 48:22Speaker 3: Hoity Jizz.
- 48:23Speaker 1: And Hoity Jizz.
- 48:24Speaker 3: Or the Jizzbot. The Jizz Palace. All that sort of stuff.
- 48:28Speaker 2: Jizzbot.
- 48:30Speaker 3: You know, because every now and then I have been known,
- 48:33Speaker 3: I think it's fair to say, to procure a bag
- 48:36Speaker 3: of chips or two for the fellas. I'd love to
- 48:39Speaker 3: know the numbers.
- 48:40Speaker 7: You steal chips almost daily from the ACC.
- 48:45Speaker 1: You don't anymore, though, Jase, because they're all gone.
- 48:47Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 48:48Speaker 1: That's the only reason he doesn't.
- 48:50Speaker 3: They've taken the boxes.
- 48:52Speaker 7: And these are chips that the ACC have got to
- 48:55Speaker 7: give away to people and stuff. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 48:57Speaker 1: It's great.
- 48:57Speaker 3: Well, these boxes are the bastards. You know what I mean?
- 49:02Speaker 3: It's just all a bit of a laugh.
- 49:05Speaker 1: A bit of a laugh.
- 49:06Speaker 3: You know what I mean? And I see you guys
- 49:08Speaker 3: because I'm sitting in here sort of going through the show,
- 49:11Speaker 3: what we're going to do next, et cetera, et cetera,
- 49:13Speaker 3: et cetera, and you guys are banging on about how
- 49:15Speaker 3: hungry you are.
- 49:16Speaker 1: You know what I mean?
- 49:17Speaker 3: But in order to get the show going and functioning properly,
- 49:21Speaker 3: I'll go and get you some chips. All right?
- 49:24Speaker 1: Yeah, but then you eat most.
- 49:26Speaker 3: Anyway.
- 49:26Speaker 5: Anyway.
- 49:27Speaker 1: What's the bonus?
- 49:28Speaker 3: We have this perception that old Hoity J is a
- 49:32Speaker 3: bit of a thief. All right?
- 49:35Speaker 4: There's been a few things of late where things have
- 49:37Speaker 4: gone missing.
- 49:38Speaker 3: For example, I believe Pugs Arm was sent some very
- 49:41Speaker 3: cool stuff, which he had on his desk.
- 49:43Speaker 6: Oh, that's right.
- 49:43Speaker 1: An influencer pack.
- 49:44Speaker 3: An influencer pack. And I'm pretty filthy about the fact
- 49:47Speaker 3: that he gets sent stuff.
- 49:48Speaker 1: What was in there, Pugs? The things that... A beret? Yeah.
- 49:52Speaker 3: No, I get those myself.
- 49:53Speaker 6: What was in there was like a miniature tiny little
- 49:57Speaker 6: USB digital camera.
- 49:59Speaker 1: Did they ever turn up?
- 50:00Speaker 3: No.
- 50:00Speaker 1: Gone. A tiny camera, like really small. Like a keychain camera.
- 50:04Speaker 4: Sounds cool.
- 50:05Speaker 7: Like one that would fit perfectly in Jase's hands and
- 50:07Speaker 7: be almost like a regular camera.
- 50:08Speaker 6: It would sort of be like an IMAX camera for
- 50:10Speaker 6: Hootie Jizz.
- 50:10Speaker 1: Yeah, true.
- 50:11Speaker 6: And then there was something else that went missing as well.
- 50:13Speaker 6: It literally got stolen so quickly that I don't even
- 50:16Speaker 6: remember what it was.
- 50:18Speaker 4: And then John Tugud, of course, he's released this book.
- 50:21Speaker 1: Yes.
- 50:21Speaker 3: Which I believe you're reading at the moment. I am.
- 50:23Speaker 1: Home Again, it's called, Jase.
- 50:24Speaker 3: Yeah, good stuff.
- 50:25Speaker 4: And there was a copy of that on the desk.
- 50:27Speaker 3: That's gone. Now, I keep receiving emails when Pugsan lost
- 50:33Speaker 3: his stuff on his desk, when this book went away. Fellas,
- 50:37Speaker 3: do any of you happen to know what happened to blah, blah, blah, Jase? Yeah.
- 50:43Speaker 1: Can I just add something to that? That was to
- 50:45Speaker 1: all three of you.
- 50:46Speaker 3: It was.
- 50:47Speaker 6: And so anybody getting an issue about that, you might
- 50:49Speaker 6: think that they were projecting.
- 50:51Speaker 1: Me think thou doth protest too much.
- 50:54Speaker 3: So I reply to these accusations and I say, no, sorry,
- 50:58Speaker 3: Puck's got no idea. And then he replies every time,
- 51:03Speaker 3: just bring it back, Jase, when you're finished with it.
- 51:07Speaker 1: That's funny.
- 51:09Speaker 3: Just bring it back.
- 51:10Speaker 1: Just whenever you're ready. Just bring it back.
- 51:12Speaker 3: Once I admit to stealing chips, I'm not a thief,
- 51:15Speaker 3: all right? I have not.
- 51:16Speaker 4: Stolen your camera.
- 51:18Speaker 3: And there might be the odd thing lying around that, no,
- 51:21Speaker 3: it's been there for ages and stuff I might pop
- 51:23Speaker 3: into my bag.
- 51:24Speaker 4: But I'm not stealing your private property.
- 51:27Speaker 5: All right?
- 51:27Speaker 4: Let me make that clear.
- 51:28Speaker 6: Can I just say I went over to the other
- 51:31Speaker 6: side of the building today and I saw on somebody's
- 51:34Speaker 6: little miniature desk fridge a note that said, big show,
- 51:38Speaker 6: do not steal. And I was like, what is this?
- 51:41Speaker 6: And they said, oh, well, we've had a couple of
- 51:43Speaker 6: soda cans go missing. And so we assumed that it
- 51:46Speaker 6: was you guys. So your reputation is leaking into the
- 51:49Speaker 6: rest of the building.
- 51:50Speaker 3: Is that actually true?
- 51:51Speaker 1: Is that true?
- 51:52Speaker 3: That is 100% true.
- 51:52Speaker 4: That happened today.
- 51:53Speaker 1: This is what? Big show.
- 51:55Speaker 3: Please do not steal.
- 51:56Speaker 1: You're a shocking bastard. I haven't stolen anything ever.
- 51:59Speaker 3: This is bullshit.
- 52:00Speaker 1: Yeah, well, where's it all come from?
- 52:01Speaker 3: Who is the only one that drinks soda in this?
- 52:03Speaker 1: Keezy.
- 52:04Speaker 3: Keezy.
- 52:04Speaker 1: Thieving bastard.
- 52:05Speaker 7: Yeah, I drink soda.
- 52:06Speaker 6: Yeah, but who's the only one that steals shit?
- 52:10Speaker 3: Fine, it's me. Sorry, fellas.
- 52:13Speaker 1: Just bring back John Tugend's book and the tiny camera,
- 52:15Speaker 1: all right?
- 52:15Speaker 3: I will. And the can of soda as well. Oh,
- 52:17Speaker 3: the camera's out. I had it in the bath because
- 52:19Speaker 3: I was taking a few pics here.
- 52:21Speaker 1: Oh, that's why you need such a small camera, right?
- 52:22Speaker 3: Yeah, just... Keezy!
- 52:24Speaker 2: The Hodaki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune
- 52:29Speaker 2: in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hodaki.
- 52:31Speaker 3: We's are there on the Radio Hodaki Big Show this
- 52:35Speaker 3: Thursday evening.
- 52:36Speaker 7: Fellas, I've got some great news. You know, over the
- 52:40Speaker 7: past couple of weeks, me and Jase have been chucking
- 52:42Speaker 7: the footy ball around quite a lot.
- 52:44Speaker 1: Yes. Having a lot of fun. Tossing the pigskin.
- 52:46Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah.
- 52:47Speaker 1: Tossing the old pigskin.
- 52:49Speaker 7: And it's been a lot of fun, Jase. We've broken
- 52:52Speaker 7: a few things.
- 52:53Speaker 3: Well, let's be accurate. Keezy's broken four things. I haven't
- 52:57Speaker 3: broken a single thing.
- 52:58Speaker 1: I'll tell you what. It's been a real joy watching
- 53:00Speaker 1: a couple of unks go at it.
- 53:03Speaker 5: Bogey.
- 53:04Speaker 1: I get it that Hootie J is an unk.
- 53:05Speaker 3: I get that.
- 53:06Speaker 1: But come on, man. I'm putting them on the chest
- 53:08Speaker 1: every single time, right into the brain. I watched you
- 53:10Speaker 1: today and actually J's complained about it. They were coming
- 53:13Speaker 1: right in at the ankles, weren't they, J's?
- 53:15Speaker 3: Shocking. If I was running on to that at pace, Keezy,
- 53:18Speaker 3: it would be a disaster.
- 53:20Speaker 7: Well, the great news is, J's, we'll finally be able
- 53:21Speaker 7: to see it because I've been doing some research into– because, J's,
- 53:26Speaker 7: you're 39. How old's Ma'anonu?
- 53:28Speaker 1: 44. 44, yeah. He's still out there. He's still a unit,
- 53:31Speaker 1: isn't he?
- 53:31Speaker 7: The way you've been passing that pigskin around, I'm like,
- 53:35Speaker 7: we have to, before you do get too old, you know,
- 53:38Speaker 7: you can't do this when you're in your 50s, but
- 53:40Speaker 7: before you do get too old, we need to sign
- 53:42Speaker 7: up because I'll do it as well. We'll play a game,
- 53:44Speaker 7: a season of club footy together. So I've been looking
- 53:47Speaker 7: around at all the different clubs we could join. So
- 53:50Speaker 7: you're in town, right? So the best one could be,
- 53:53Speaker 7: you know, we made a lot of jokes about college rifles.
- 53:55Speaker 7: We could consider them Eden Rugby Football Club.
- 53:58Speaker 1: You guys couldn't play a season of touch rugby. No,
- 54:01Speaker 1: we could.
- 54:02Speaker 7: So this is for March next year, roughly, you know,
- 54:04Speaker 7: is when they start gearing up.
- 54:05Speaker 1: So you're going to start training now. Well, we'll just
- 54:07Speaker 1: get ourselves into condition.
- 54:08Speaker 3: What do you think? Yeah.
- 54:10Speaker 1: If you need somebody to hammer you on a tackle,
- 54:12Speaker 1: I can help out with that. I don't think you can.
- 54:14Speaker 4: I would love to, Keezy.
- 54:16Speaker 3: Constantly rugby club?
- 54:18Speaker 4: I've signed up for Social Netball.
- 54:22Speaker 1: No, that's okay.
- 54:23Speaker 7: That's Tuesday nights. So, yeah, I think Ponsonby Rugby Club.
- 54:26Speaker 7: What I'll do is I'll put some feelers out.
- 54:28Speaker 3: Yeah, could you?
- 54:28Speaker 7: Because I've got one mate who could potentially come on
- 54:31Speaker 7: and have a bit of a yarn about what kind
- 54:33Speaker 7: of conditioning we'd need to do.
- 54:34Speaker 1: Yes.
- 54:36Speaker 7: But I'm fizzed up. To get to play a season
- 54:38Speaker 7: of footy, and I think the listeners will be fizzed
- 54:40Speaker 7: up too.
- 54:40Speaker 3: Well, I just feel bad because I'd be playing in
- 54:43Speaker 3: the game and you'd just be sitting on the pine
- 54:45Speaker 3: all the time.
- 54:45Speaker 1: Hey, that might be it.
- 54:46Speaker 7: If I'm not good enough and I have to sit
- 54:48Speaker 7: and watch as you do the bizzo, then that's the reality.
- 54:52Speaker 1: How heavy are you? Because the other thing we could
- 54:55Speaker 1: do is look at the weight. Yeah, yeah.
- 54:58Speaker 7: Are you under 85?
- 54:59Speaker 3: Well under 85.
- 55:01Speaker 1: Okay, what about weight-wise? So you are under 85?
- 55:08Speaker 3: I'm under 65.
- 55:10Speaker 1: Okay.
- 55:11Speaker 3: So it would be little nippers.
- 55:14Speaker 1: Jase, you've regaled us with tales before when you were
- 55:17Speaker 1: a captain of the second 15. You were 17 and
- 55:20Speaker 1: all of your teammates were 13.
- 55:22Speaker 3: Yes.
- 55:22Speaker 1: It sort of feels like that's going to have to
- 55:24Speaker 1: happen again.
- 55:24Speaker 4: Yeah, well, that's what I mean.
- 55:25Speaker 3: Little nippers.
- 55:26Speaker 1: Yeah, that's right.
- 55:27Speaker 4: I mean, if it's a little nippers league.
- 55:28Speaker 1: I think you'd be a great captain.
- 55:29Speaker 4: I would dominate.
- 55:30Speaker 1: But the issue is I can't play nippers because I'm
- 55:33Speaker 1: a full-grown adult.
- 55:34Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 55:34Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 55:36Speaker 1: So maybe that's a good idea. Jase can play with
- 55:38Speaker 1: the young'uns there.
- 55:39Speaker 3: The little nippers.
- 55:39Speaker 1: And you're out there in prems. No, because I want
- 55:42Speaker 1: to play with Jase.
- 55:42Speaker 4: Because I'll come and watch you play, Keezy.
- 55:44Speaker 5: No, no, no.
- 55:45Speaker 1: So this is the way.
- 55:45Speaker 7: I want to be throwing a short ball to Jase
- 55:49Speaker 7: through the gap.
- 55:49Speaker 3: Right.
- 55:50Speaker 1: And so if you want, we could do under 85s,
- 55:53Speaker 1: and I will lose 5 kgs.
- 55:57Speaker 3: Well, yeah. Okay. Oh, that makes me feel better.
- 56:02Speaker 2: The Hodaki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune
- 56:05Speaker 2: in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hodaki.
- 56:14Speaker 3: The Hodaki Big Show. Well, there you go, you massive backbones.
- 56:25Speaker 3: That's the big show done and dusted for your Thursday night.
- 56:27Speaker 3: Make sure you tune in tomorrow, Friday, Throbber.
- 56:30Speaker 1: How good.
- 56:31Speaker 3: And the disclaimer today, I don't have a clue what
- 56:34Speaker 3: the clip will be.
- 56:35Speaker 7: The disclaimer being our bonus podcast we do every day.
- 56:38Speaker 3: Yeah, man.
- 56:39Speaker 7: Comes out at 7.30. This is a clip talking about
- 56:42Speaker 7: Hoiti J's chipping issues.
- 56:46Speaker 1: At least everything else in the world disappears, I'd imagine.
- 56:50Speaker 1: You're only thinking about this part of your life that sucks.
- 56:53Speaker 1: Not all of the other areas of your life that suck.
- 56:55Speaker 4: Oh, no, they infiltrate as well.
- 56:58Speaker 3: You know what I mean? Yeah.
- 56:59Speaker 7: This is why I'm in a miserable marriage.
- 57:05Speaker 1: Yeah. Old Hoity J there. You've got to keep punching, man. Yeah,
- 57:10Speaker 1: we do.
- 57:11Speaker 3: We do.
- 57:11Speaker 1: You've got to keep throwing punches. Absolutely. But that's probably
- 57:13Speaker 1: the problem. You're throwing punches, you should be swinging your
- 57:15Speaker 1: golf club.
- 57:15Speaker 3: Yeah, I should just be laying down. Yes. You know
- 57:18Speaker 3: what I mean?
- 57:18Speaker 4: Having a little snooze.
- 57:20Speaker 3: Speaking of which, what are your hopes and aspirations tonight, man?
- 57:23Speaker 3: You know what, man?
- 57:24Speaker 1: I'm probably going to have a bath and I'm going
- 57:26Speaker 1: to read some more book. I'm reading Johnny Too Good. Oh, yes.
- 57:29Speaker 3: Johnny.
- 57:29Speaker 1: Oh, honey, too mickey. I'm reading his book. And it's pretty,
- 57:33Speaker 1: pretty good.
- 57:34Speaker 3: Yeah, good stuff.
- 57:35Speaker 1: It's interesting stuff. In the bath with Johnny Too Good. Yeah,
- 57:38Speaker 1: that's right.
- 57:38Speaker 3: Old Mogey.
- 57:39Speaker 1: Old Mogey and John Too Good in the bath.
- 57:41Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah.
- 57:42Speaker 1: It's interesting stuff there. It's interesting their work ethic. They
- 57:47Speaker 1: always wanted to be huge and they worked like bastards.
- 57:49Speaker 1: They weren't just stumbling around, you know what I mean? Yeah, yeah.
- 57:51Speaker 1: And he regarded himself as a very good cricketer, Jase.
- 57:55Speaker 3: Did he?
- 57:55Speaker 1: A very good cricketer. He used to captain Wellington College.
- 57:58Speaker 4: Wow.
- 57:58Speaker 1: And in his team was Mark Ellis.
- 58:00Speaker 3: Okay.
- 58:01Speaker 1: I find it hard to picture.
- 58:03Speaker 3: Yeah, he was a pretty good cricketer as well, Mark Ellis.
- 58:05Speaker 1: I agree with that.
- 58:06Speaker 3: I can see that.
- 58:07Speaker 4: Yeah, but Johnny too.
- 58:08Speaker 3: Yeah. I hear you.
- 58:09Speaker 1: Mark Ellis, of course, the front man for Supergroove. Bellas.
- 58:16Speaker 7: What? Come on, man.
- 58:26Speaker 1: Up to, Keezy.
- 58:26Speaker 3: What are you up to? Oh, yeah, cool.
- 58:28Speaker 1: Thanks for asking.
- 58:29Speaker 7: I'm going to go home, and my wife and I
- 58:31Speaker 7: are having chicken and halloumi something.
- 58:34Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 58:34Speaker 7: Which, yeah, so I'm looking forward to that. And then
- 58:36Speaker 7: we're going to watch Outrageous Fortune, because we started season
- 58:39Speaker 7: two last night.
- 58:39Speaker 1: Very, very good.
- 58:40Speaker 3: Yeah, good stuff.
- 58:41Speaker 1: And then she'll go to bed, and then I'll start
- 58:43Speaker 1: late playing video games.
- 58:44Speaker 4: Doosh, doosh, doosh, doosh, doosh, doosh, doosh.
- 58:46Speaker 3: Oh, my hamstring. What are you up to, Jase? It's funny, actually, because...
- 58:52Speaker 3: I'm meeting my wife in town. We're going to eat something.
- 58:55Speaker 3: There's a Chinese place actually not far from here and
- 58:58Speaker 3: I've walked past it so many times and it always,
- 59:01Speaker 3: it looks like it's always pretty full which is always
- 59:04Speaker 3: a good sign.
- 59:05Speaker 1: Full of what kind of people?
- 59:06Speaker 3: Oh, just all sorts, all sorts.
- 59:08Speaker 4: Of people and so I've said.
- 59:10Speaker 3: To my wife, how about we go and check that
- 59:13Speaker 3: place out and then.
- 59:15Speaker 1: What did she say?
- 59:16Speaker 4: Yeah, she said, keen, keen.
- 59:18Speaker 1: And then what did you say?
- 59:19Speaker 3: I went, sweet.
