- 0:01Speaker 1: Welcome to Dirty Rush, The Truth about Sorority Life with
- 0:04Speaker 1: your hosts me Gia Judaice, Davey Kent, and Jennifer Kessler.
- 0:11Speaker 1: Welcome back to a very special episode of Dirty Rush. Today,
- 0:17Speaker 1: we are speaking with my family, three generations of sorority
- 0:22Speaker 1: women who are here to compare and contrast their sorority experiences.
- 0:27Speaker 1: My name is Lauren, and I will be hosting the conversation.
- 0:32Speaker 1: And does everybody want to introduce themself, their sorority and
- 0:38Speaker 1: what you're graduated.
- 0:39Speaker 2: Yeah, let's go from oldest to youngest.
- 0:41Speaker 1: Okay, we'll shark gravy time.
- 0:45Speaker 3: My name is Kathy mccaulliffe and I went to Oregon
- 0:49Speaker 3: State and graduated in nineteen sixty eight, and I was
- 0:53Speaker 3: a pie bya Phi.
- 0:55Speaker 4: I'm Megan and I graduated from University of San Diego
- 1:00Speaker 4: in nineteen ninety seven and I was an Alpha Fi.
- 1:03Speaker 2: I'm Lauren.
- 1:05Speaker 1: I went to TCU and I was a Fada and
- 1:08Speaker 1: I graduated in.
- 1:09Speaker 2: Twenty twenty four.
- 1:10Speaker 1: I'm Taylor and I also went to TCU. I graduated
- 1:13Speaker 1: this year twenty twenty six, and I was a Sigma Kappa.
- 1:17Speaker 1: I'm Sarah and I'm also a Sigma Kappa. Yay, Okay,
- 1:22Speaker 1: let's dive into it.
- 1:25Speaker 2: What made each of you choose.
- 1:27Speaker 1: Your sorority or what made you favorite over others during
- 1:31Speaker 1: rush my school with there were only three sororities, so
- 1:35Speaker 1: they were pretty distinguished with their only being three.
- 1:37Speaker 2: They all kind of had a different reputation and a
- 1:39Speaker 2: different kind of vibe.
- 1:42Speaker 4: And I could tell from the beginning. We didn't rush
- 1:45Speaker 4: until part way through freshman year after Christmas break, so
- 1:48Speaker 4: you really had those three months to get to know
- 1:51Speaker 4: the different personalities of houses. So I was pretty confident
- 1:54Speaker 4: that I would want to be an alpha fee if
- 1:57Speaker 4: it was mutual, and so that's kind of how it
- 1:59Speaker 4: worked out for me.
- 2:00Speaker 2: That's Suice Grammy.
- 2:04Speaker 3: I would say, going to the parties that they had,
- 2:11Speaker 3: it really mattered who you talk to, you know. And
- 2:16Speaker 3: in my sorority there were some of the older class
- 2:20Speaker 3: mates and they were really impressive, and I think that
- 2:24Speaker 3: had a lot to do. And I don't think I
- 2:27Speaker 3: really knew anyone before I joined the house.
- 2:31Speaker 1: Yeah, I think for me, it was pretty obviously where
- 2:34Speaker 1: I wanted to go, having a sister at my school,
- 2:37Speaker 1: and also like in authority that I already liked. I
- 2:40Speaker 1: felt like knowing her friends and stuff after visiting so
- 2:43Speaker 1: many times made me really favor the sorority. And then
- 2:46Speaker 1: when I went through Rush, seeing all the other ones
- 2:48Speaker 1: was obviously really important. But I think that going into it,
- 2:51Speaker 1: I kind of knew what I wanted, and coming out
- 2:53Speaker 1: of it, I got what I wanted, and so I
- 2:55Speaker 1: was fortunate enough to join the same Southrity. But I
- 2:57Speaker 1: think I kind of always had a feeling that it
- 2:59Speaker 1: might be I joined Sigma Kappa because I felt like
- 3:05Speaker 1: the conversations with the girls were just the easiest and
- 3:10Speaker 1: I always just had a good time when I was
- 3:12Speaker 1: in there, and I didn't feel stressed or not like myself. Yeah,
- 3:16Speaker 1: I feel like I had a similar feeling when I
- 3:18Speaker 1: went into Theta and I talked to all those girls
- 3:22Speaker 1: during Rush, and I kind of similar to what you said, like,
- 3:24Speaker 1: I just thought everyone was so impressive and I was like,
- 3:26Speaker 1: these are people.
- 3:27Speaker 2: I would want to surround myself with.
- 3:29Speaker 1: Right, And so it really came down to just that,
- 3:33Speaker 1: how did you handle some of the houses that you
- 3:35Speaker 1: did like but got dropped from during Rush.
- 3:38Speaker 2: That's a good question.
- 3:40Speaker 4: I didn't really have that because of it there only
- 3:42Speaker 4: being three it's sort of it was only three different Yeah.
- 3:46Speaker 2: But yeah, that's crazy. Yeah, it's intense there in Texas.
- 3:51Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 3:51Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:52Speaker 1: Was it hard to watch us go through that and
- 3:55Speaker 1: then I dropped by.
- 3:56Speaker 4: Houses that we liked, Yes, because I think sometimes you
- 3:59Speaker 4: were blindsided, like you'd feel like it went really well
- 4:02Speaker 4: and then the next day there'd be that cut and
- 4:04Speaker 4: it was it's just kind of jarring totally, and then
- 4:08Speaker 4: you have to just hang in there and stay positive
- 4:10Speaker 4: and keep moving forward.
- 4:11Speaker 2: Really, and I think about it takes a lot out
- 4:13Speaker 2: of you. Yeah, Yeah, absolutely.
- 4:15Speaker 1: I think it's definitely difficult when you go from having
- 4:19Speaker 1: like thirteen houses to what does it get cut to
- 4:22Speaker 1: you nine? Yeah, and then the six and then to
- 4:24Speaker 1: three and then you get your house. So I feel
- 4:28Speaker 1: like it really is just like a lot of mental
- 4:32Speaker 1: strain on you. But you just like have to show
- 4:34Speaker 1: up your best adverts, yeah, or else that could cost
- 4:37Speaker 1: you the next house.
- 4:38Speaker 2: Yeah. So true.
- 4:39Speaker 1: Do you feel like going into Rush, like after having
- 4:42Speaker 1: an older sister go through Rush, it like changed your
- 4:46Speaker 1: perception of the houses when you went in.
- 4:48Speaker 2: Yeah, definitely.
- 4:49Speaker 1: I think you told me like a lot of the
- 4:51Speaker 1: stereotypes for each one, So I definitely had a lot
- 4:53Speaker 1: of preconceived notions, which was maybe positive.
- 4:57Speaker 2: Yeah, but yeah, for sure, I agree.
- 5:00Speaker 1: I remember, like the summer before I rushed, Taylor would
- 5:03Speaker 1: try to like keep stuff away from me, just to
- 5:06Speaker 1: not like sway my opinions too much because she knew that,
- 5:08Speaker 1: like she knew a lot of them, like a lot
- 5:10Speaker 1: about all of them, and it kind of like made
- 5:12Speaker 1: her rush experience a little different than someone who like
- 5:14Speaker 1: would go in knowing nothing.
- 5:16Speaker 2: So Taylor like didn't tell me as much.
- 5:18Speaker 1: Which I think was good because I did like have
- 5:20Speaker 1: time to like figure things out on my own. But
- 5:23Speaker 1: I think going and knowing information rather than knowing nothing
- 5:26Speaker 1: was like definitely very helpful.
- 5:28Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm really grateful that.
- 5:29Speaker 1: I had like someone to look up to and like
- 5:31Speaker 1: someone to tell me about like what was ahead of me.
- 5:34Speaker 2: Yeah, what about your grammy? Do you remember?
- 5:36Speaker 3: I don't remember it, honestly, I'm not sure if they
- 5:39Speaker 3: made certain cuts, you know, like Taylor was.
- 5:43Speaker 2: Mentioning.
- 5:45Speaker 3: Uh, So I don't really remember that part.
- 5:47Speaker 2: Yeah, that makes sense.
- 5:49Speaker 1: Did you feel any pressure to join a specific house
- 5:52Speaker 1: from family or friends that had been in sororities before you?
- 5:55Speaker 2: It's a good question.
- 5:59Speaker 4: I didn't, maybe friends because my roommates were going for
- 6:03Speaker 4: the same house as me, and I wonder if that
- 6:05Speaker 4: kind of swayed me because we were really close by then,
- 6:08Speaker 4: and I wanted to spend the rest of the three
- 6:11Speaker 4: and a half years of college with those friends. So
- 6:14Speaker 4: I do think in some ways it was a little
- 6:16Speaker 4: bit of a group decision.
- 6:18Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I think for me going into Rush, having
- 6:21Speaker 1: two sisters had already gone through Rush and had gone
- 6:24Speaker 1: through my same school definitely like swayed me to like
- 6:29Speaker 1: those sororities and also like feel pressure to maybe like
- 6:33Speaker 1: try harder in them.
- 6:35Speaker 2: So like going in I.
- 6:37Speaker 1: Never got Theta, which is which is the same, but
- 6:41Speaker 1: like both whatever, now either of us such a scandal
- 6:45Speaker 1: pretty interesting, but it turned out okay. And then I
- 6:48Speaker 1: obviously got Sigma Kappa, and then I would go to
- 6:51Speaker 1: the other houses and like have ones that I liked,
- 6:53Speaker 1: but then obviously like thinking about how fun it would
- 6:57Speaker 1: be if I went the same house as my sister.
- 6:59Speaker 1: That was like I would have a whole year with
- 7:01Speaker 1: her in the same sulready and not the same school.
- 7:03Speaker 1: That was like definitely like a weighing factor into how
- 7:06Speaker 1: much I wanted to be in it, And I think
- 7:08Speaker 1: it turned out great because we had like formals together
- 7:10Speaker 1: and like so much fun stuff going on.
- 7:12Speaker 3: What about you Green, My mom was a pid fact,
- 7:17Speaker 3: Yeah she dad was a doubt. She was a pide fact.
- 7:21Speaker 3: So so I think you know that was definitely in
- 7:24Speaker 3: my head.
- 7:25Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 7:25Speaker 1: Yeah, I didn't know that either.
- 7:26Speaker 2: Mom. That's cool, it's so cute.
- 7:29Speaker 1: Do you think each person in here ended up in
- 7:32Speaker 1: the right house for them? I genuinely do I did,
- 7:36Speaker 1: So I don't know, Yeah I did.
- 7:37Speaker 2: I don't think I did. Yeah, I don't. I definitely
- 7:40Speaker 2: don't think I did. Yeah, I think I don't know.
- 7:43Speaker 1: There were so many different factors that played into it.
- 7:46Speaker 2: Having my first rush.
- 7:48Speaker 1: Bea COVID and then it didn't really go great, and
- 7:51Speaker 1: then I re rushed and ended up in DATA.
- 7:54Speaker 2: I'm glad that I went DATA.
- 7:57Speaker 1: I liked it a lot, but ultimately I just felt
- 8:00Speaker 1: like being in a younger pledge class, and then everyone
- 8:04Speaker 1: my age being in the pledge class above me, I
- 8:07Speaker 1: didn't have the same opportunities to.
- 8:08Speaker 2: Make friends and stuff.
- 8:10Speaker 1: And then once I got in there, I kind of
- 8:11Speaker 1: realized that I don't know, just most of my friends
- 8:14Speaker 1: were outside of my sorority in college. Yeah, I think
- 8:17Speaker 1: there could have been like a better fit for you,
- 8:19Speaker 1: and I'd never like there was maybe, but I don't
- 8:22Speaker 1: even know which house it would have been. I also
- 8:24Speaker 1: just don't.
- 8:24Speaker 2: Know how much I fit into like sorority life. Yeah,
- 8:27Speaker 2: like I didn't.
- 8:28Speaker 1: Once I was in it, I was like, oh, this
- 8:30Speaker 1: is it. Yeah, did any of you almost not rush?
- 8:35Speaker 1: And how would that have altered your.
- 8:36Speaker 2: Life had you not rushed? I think we all were
- 8:39Speaker 2: pretty set.
- 8:40Speaker 4: I knew I wanted to just from Grammy's experiences. Yeah,
- 8:43Speaker 4: I knew that I wanted to for sure.
- 8:45Speaker 2: Yeah, I always knew I wanted to as well.
- 8:48Speaker 1: I thought about not rushing, but I think, like having
- 8:52Speaker 1: clearly like my whole lineagewer, I was like I kind
- 8:56Speaker 1: of want to and like I'll kind of just do
- 8:57Speaker 1: it for fun. And then I went into it not
- 8:59Speaker 1: being serious about it, which I think really helped the
- 9:02Speaker 1: process and I think it ended up good and I'm
- 9:04Speaker 1: glad I did it. I think I was way more
- 9:07Speaker 1: serious about it.
- 9:08Speaker 2: Yeah, hurt the process, yea.
- 9:09Speaker 1: I was like, oh, everybody I know, like all the
- 9:12Speaker 1: women in my life have been in sororities. I need
- 9:15Speaker 1: to make this work, even if it's not something that
- 9:17Speaker 1: I don't even thought. I don't even think I thought
- 9:20Speaker 1: about if I wanted it or not. Yeah. I think
- 9:22Speaker 1: I was just like, oh, this is something you you're
- 9:24Speaker 1: supposed to yeah, yeah, And so I went into it
- 9:27Speaker 1: and I was like, I gotta get it done. And
- 9:28Speaker 1: then I was like overly serious about it. Was there
- 9:33Speaker 1: a specific conversation, moment or person that made you feel
- 9:37Speaker 1: like you belonged in your house.
- 9:41Speaker 4: Probably like at PREF. You know, once theys down to
- 9:44Speaker 4: PREF and you have actual, like substance conversations with people
- 9:49Speaker 4: and you really are connecting. I think that's the first
- 9:53Speaker 4: point where I felt that connection.
- 9:55Speaker 1: Yeah, there was a girl that I talked to that's
- 9:58Speaker 1: from our hometown, Rush, and I think she kind of
- 10:02Speaker 1: gave me a lot of clarity and I could relate
- 10:04Speaker 1: to her a lot because we had the same experience
- 10:08Speaker 1: growing up and then we're headed to or I was
- 10:11Speaker 1: headed to the same school as her. So I feel
- 10:13Speaker 1: like that was a really meaningful conversation for me looking back,
- 10:16Speaker 1: and just made me feel like I could really resonate
- 10:18Speaker 1: with the sorority. I remember, I think it was the
- 10:22Speaker 1: first or second round, so it was.
- 10:23Speaker 2: Pretty early on, but.
- 10:26Speaker 1: The first or second time I wanted to Sigma Kappa.
- 10:29Speaker 1: I talked to a girl that was like from same
- 10:32Speaker 1: as us, like the same coast, like near us where
- 10:35Speaker 1: we're from, and she ended up being my big but
- 10:38Speaker 1: we had a conversation about just like really similar interests,
- 10:41Speaker 1: and she just made me feel so comfortable because she
- 10:43Speaker 1: was also just so like relaxed and like authentic, and
- 10:46Speaker 1: I think that really made me feel at home. And
- 10:50Speaker 1: then I continued to meet such amazing girls in my sorority,
- 10:53Speaker 1: and then I ended up going that one and now
- 10:54Speaker 1: she's my big so and.
- 10:55Speaker 2: Gets back to you to talk. Yeah, I gets who
- 10:58Speaker 2: much just together didn't happen? That's a good idea.
- 11:04Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 11:04Speaker 3: Yeah, well I always heard about Fi FI from my mom.
- 11:08Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, and so I really think that did have
- 11:10Speaker 3: something to do with it. I'm just so glad that
- 11:13Speaker 3: I joined because it was a really.
- 11:15Speaker 2: Good fit for me. Yeah what college did Grammantine? She
- 11:19Speaker 2: went Insteady, that's so cool.
- 11:25Speaker 1: Is there a house that you almost joined that would
- 11:28Speaker 1: have completely changed your experience?
- 11:32Speaker 4: I didn't know it at the time, but if I
- 11:34Speaker 4: had gone a certain other one, I wouldn't have fit in.
- 11:38Speaker 1: Yeah, I agree, there was definitely one that I really wanted,
- 11:41Speaker 1: but looking back, I'm so glad that I wasn't in it.
- 11:45Speaker 1: I was in between two until pref and a girl
- 11:49Speaker 1: from our hometown that's older talk to me a lot
- 11:53Speaker 1: while I was there, and like I was, I felt
- 11:56Speaker 1: pretty at home there too, and like a lot of
- 11:58Speaker 1: my friends were going that sorty that I'm not really on.
- 12:01Speaker 1: So it was kind of hard to choose between the two.
- 12:03Speaker 1: But I think like ultimately having my sister in one
- 12:07Speaker 1: and having all these other amazing people that I met
- 12:09Speaker 1: and one like ended up meet going sidne Kappa. But
- 12:12Speaker 1: I was actually very close to going another.
- 12:15Speaker 2: One in going a different direction. If I had stuck
- 12:18Speaker 2: with Rush freshman year, I would have been in a
- 12:20Speaker 2: house that I really did.
- 12:21Speaker 1: I'm a lot, but I was kind of glad that
- 12:26Speaker 1: I was like, no, this is not for me.
- 12:29Speaker 2: Try to get next year.
- 12:31Speaker 1: Yeah, did you ever witness a girl or someone that
- 12:35Speaker 1: you knew have a complete breakdown during Rush week?
- 12:38Speaker 2: Or was that you.
- 12:41Speaker 1: That was making that's a lot of girls cry. It's
- 12:43Speaker 1: so many tears. Yeah, so many tears. Gets so emotional.
- 12:46Speaker 1: It gets very emotional, especially like the further along it goes. Yeah,
- 12:50Speaker 1: I definitely saw like I had to console a few
- 12:52Speaker 1: of my friends, but nothing too crazy. There was like
- 12:55Speaker 1: a few Like I looked by the bathroom one time,
- 12:57Speaker 1: someone was like actually screaming, and I was like, are
- 12:59Speaker 1: you okay? But let's like, I think it's so intensified
- 13:03Speaker 1: because at least that you see, it's the week before school,
- 13:06Speaker 1: and so you just have moved to this new place.
- 13:10Speaker 1: Not even everybody has moved on the campus yet. It's
- 13:12Speaker 1: just the girls who are rushing, and so it's so
- 13:15Speaker 1: amplified because you're just only around other people who are rushing.
- 13:18Speaker 1: You're in this new environment. It's like I've been competitive,
- 13:21Speaker 1: made friends. Yeah, it is a little competitive, and.
- 13:24Speaker 2: It's just emotions are hot. You're just thrown into this
- 13:27Speaker 2: like crazy and exhausted.
- 13:29Speaker 5: Oh my god, and it's so hot, so long outside.
- 13:50Speaker 1: What is the shadiest thing you saw happen behind the scenes?
- 13:54Speaker 2: I think us not getting FATA, like what was up
- 13:57Speaker 2: that was still to this day, I don't know fish.
- 14:00Speaker 2: It was so sauce.
- 14:02Speaker 1: Yeah, And I think my program, who I found out
- 14:05Speaker 1: was a THEYDA tuttle tales on the fact that I
- 14:10Speaker 1: said I didn't want to go the same one as
- 14:12Speaker 1: my sister and I wanted to do my own thing. Yeah,
- 14:15Speaker 1: so I do think she was, because otherwise I don't
- 14:17Speaker 1: know why you wouldn't have got it exactly.
- 14:20Speaker 2: I think that was pretty shady. I think so too.
- 14:22Speaker 1: I have no idea why I didn't get it, but
- 14:24Speaker 1: everything worked out, it did. Is there any dirty Russian
- 14:28Speaker 1: going on?
- 14:29Speaker 2: Not that I recall. No, no, no, Catholic school.
- 14:36Speaker 1: What is the stereotype of your sorority and how true
- 14:39Speaker 1: was it?
- 14:40Speaker 2: What do you think, Grammy I could be positive or day? Yeah.
- 14:46Speaker 3: No, I think there were a lot of really pretty
- 14:50Speaker 3: girls in there, and I think it might have had
- 14:53Speaker 3: something to do with the reputation, you know, and but
- 14:59Speaker 3: nice girls too and smart girls, and you know, I
- 15:03Speaker 3: was really happy with my choice.
- 15:06Speaker 4: Mine was I would say, like the damn to earth
- 15:08Speaker 4: kind of girls, like not the most partiers or going
- 15:14Speaker 4: out or dressed up or that kind of thing. It
- 15:17Speaker 4: was more like down to earth And I liked that.
- 15:19Speaker 2: It's cool. Yeah, that's great. Sarahize is the party girl. Yeah,
- 15:23Speaker 2: we are the posts.
- 15:24Speaker 1: A lot of the like my PC of like frats
- 15:27Speaker 1: would say that they love sk because like we're just
- 15:29Speaker 1: so fun.
- 15:30Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 15:30Speaker 1: But also I think a lot of people know that
- 15:33Speaker 1: we were hard and play hard because we're thirty and
- 15:35Speaker 1: grades totally. Yeah, we did get thirty grades this year,
- 15:38Speaker 1: And I think that's very true because everyone I know
- 15:40Speaker 1: is super smart but can also have a really good time.
- 15:43Speaker 1: Everyone I know was like very leadership oriented in sk
- 15:46Speaker 1: and I think it's just kind of like well rounded people.
- 15:51Speaker 1: Mine was always talking in grades, and so I think
- 15:53Speaker 1: that people thought that we might have struggled to have fun,
- 15:56Speaker 1: but we had a lot of fun and Ring by
- 15:59Speaker 1: Span like ring by Spray all, and that was pretty
- 16:03Speaker 1: true because every chapter we would have to do that
- 16:05Speaker 1: ring ceremony when somebody gauji aged. You have to pass
- 16:08Speaker 1: it around in the circle and sing the song and
- 16:11Speaker 1: then they tell the whole story of their engagement and
- 16:13Speaker 1: then suddenly chapter is two and a half hours, and
- 16:17Speaker 1: we did a lot of that, So I would say
- 16:19Speaker 1: the Ring by.
- 16:19Speaker 2: Spring stereotype was pretty true.
- 16:23Speaker 1: Was there a moment where you thought you were gonna
- 16:25Speaker 1: get cut from your top choice and.
- 16:28Speaker 2: What did that feel like? I was pretty confident.
- 16:33Speaker 1: I just like talked about it so much like with
- 16:35Speaker 1: my rogam and with like a couple other people's rogams,
- 16:39Speaker 1: Like I'd just like be in a scenario where I
- 16:41Speaker 1: would be talking to mine and then I would get
- 16:44Speaker 1: in a conversation with all of them and start talking
- 16:46Speaker 1: about like how I felt really confident and I was
- 16:49Speaker 1: kind of scared I was getting over confident and that
- 16:51Speaker 1: like that.
- 16:51Speaker 2: Would maybe spoil my chances.
- 16:53Speaker 1: So I definitely thought like my big mouth would like
- 16:56Speaker 1: maybe get me in trouble.
- 16:58Speaker 2: But I think that's really the only one that I thought,
- 17:00Speaker 2: like anything could go wrong.
- 17:04Speaker 1: I think I would get worried just because I was
- 17:07Speaker 1: in my own head, not because anything was actually, but
- 17:11Speaker 1: I think I would just think about it so much
- 17:13Speaker 1: and I was like, oh, I'm definitely gonna get caught.
- 17:17Speaker 1: And then I don't know your mind just like, yeah,
- 17:19Speaker 1: I play stricks on you totally.
- 17:22Speaker 3: I would say that, yeah, And that was like me too,
- 17:25Speaker 3: you really never know. I really worried about everything. And
- 17:29Speaker 3: it was the beginning of school too, so you know, yeah.
- 17:33Speaker 1: And then you look back and you're like, oh, why
- 17:35Speaker 1: was I so worried about that?
- 17:36Speaker 4: It works out well, people always say, and I do
- 17:39Speaker 4: honestly think it's true.
- 17:40Speaker 2: In the case of sorority rash.
- 17:43Speaker 4: You have to trust the process because it is such
- 17:46Speaker 4: an interesting process and it's like you really you have
- 17:50Speaker 4: to just trust it and see it through and it
- 17:52Speaker 4: usually works out, but it's not. Maybe you know what
- 17:55Speaker 4: you expected, but it has weird ways of working out.
- 17:57Speaker 1: It's never very Yeah, I agree, you really have to
- 18:01Speaker 1: let go of the right to just let it happen.
- 18:03Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 18:04Speaker 1: Do you think that that's your biggest piece of advice
- 18:06Speaker 1: to anybody who would be Russian?
- 18:08Speaker 4: Yes, And it sounds cliche, but unless you go through it,
- 18:11Speaker 4: you don't even understand.
- 18:12Speaker 2: You just have to trust it. So yeah, because the.
- 18:15Speaker 4: Way that things are tallied and all of that is Yeah,
- 18:21Speaker 4: because there's so much on the back end that you're
- 18:23Speaker 4: just never gonna understand as a P and M or
- 18:25Speaker 4: like a rushie and so kind of just leaning into.
- 18:29Speaker 2: The process, I feel like it's.
- 18:30Speaker 1: The best way to go about it. I agree with that.
- 18:33Speaker 1: I think like watching so many of my friends at
- 18:35Speaker 1: like harsher More southern schools where it's just like super cutthroat,
- 18:38Speaker 1: was really interesting because they would get like super distraught
- 18:41Speaker 1: if they had a house that they thought they really
- 18:43Speaker 1: liked and like thought that it was like both sided
- 18:46Speaker 1: like this already liked them too, and they would get
- 18:48Speaker 1: cut and then now seeing them in their sorty that
- 18:51Speaker 1: they ended up in, Like they're so happy. So I
- 18:53Speaker 1: think it's just like everything works out in the weirdest ways.
- 18:56Speaker 1: But to really just like keep showing up and just
- 18:58Speaker 1: like put your best face on it, it's like the
- 19:01Speaker 1: only thing you can do.
- 19:02Speaker 2: What do you think?
- 19:03Speaker 1: Also, I think if you have something in mind that
- 19:06Speaker 1: you're super stuck on, I think it's really important to
- 19:10Speaker 1: just have an open mind and experience different houses because
- 19:14Speaker 1: sometimes they can surprise you.
- 19:17Speaker 2: Yeah, okay. Last question is for Grammy.
- 19:22Speaker 1: How do you think, based on hearing about all of
- 19:25Speaker 1: our experiences generationally, how do you think that rush has changed?
- 19:30Speaker 2: And would you want to rush if you were us?
- 19:34Speaker 2: That's interesting.
- 19:35Speaker 3: I don't know if I would rush, you know, but
- 19:41Speaker 3: I did enjoy it very much. We couldn't move in
- 19:44Speaker 3: until our sophomore year. Oh yeah, yeah, so just three years.
- 19:48Speaker 3: And I have remained friends with those girls for so long.
- 19:52Speaker 3: So in fact, I just had lunch with one of
- 19:55Speaker 3: the last week and we're talking about going up to
- 19:59Speaker 3: Portland to meet with a couple other girls. So yeah,
- 20:04Speaker 3: but I don't think I could beat what happened yeaheah
- 20:08Speaker 3: the last time. So there was nothing negative about.
